Christ plus works equals no salvation! This is a Biblical formula made clear throughout the Scripture. For example: Christ plus church membership equals no salvation; Christ plus baptism equals no salvation; Christ plus the Christian life equals no salvation; and so on. The tragedy is that those who are teaching this error and those receiving this error think that they are more secure in their salvation as a result of their works.

We are excited about being able to be with you today if you want to get our phone number it’s 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771 and gives the call we’ll put you up on the air and we have a lot of off-air questions we’re going to try to take as many of those as we possibly can today.
But this will be a good day to call in 1-800-576-3771. We have Alan who calls in from Troy, New York, and he says, explain more about the unforgivable sin of God. Well, Troy or rather Alan in Troy, New York, it is the sin of unbelief. It’s to reject Christ. In John 3, 18, you have a great, great verse where Christ details what the unpardonable sin is. He says, he the believer on the sun has everlasting life or is not condemned.
But he to believe it is not condemned already because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten son of God. So unbelief. He is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. just leaders said okay okay. He heals and we can’t deny that, but he does it by the power of Satan. That was a way of denying who Christ is. Jesus was not a Messiah, not healing by the power of the Holy Spirit.
And so the attributed, the healings that were done by Christ, not to the Holy Spirit, the one who was actually the one who empowered Christ, but rather to Satan. Jesus tells them that they were in danger of eternal damnation and the answers in verse 30. Alan, look it up. Mark 3.30 says, because they said, because they said, because they said, he Christ hath an unclean spirit. So to say that Christ has an unclean spirit is really to reject The objective of Christ is to save an imposter or fraud, not the Savior, and to reject Christ, of course, the same as John 3.18.
You are condemned already and will be condemned for eternity if you do not trust Jesus Christ as your Savior. Allen, thank you for calling in from Troy, New York, and I hope that answered it for you. Unknown caller, we don’t know from where, what planet, what city or what state, but Mr. Unknown has called in and says what is the purpose of the 1000 year reign in Israel? Well, let me just stop. It’s not the 1000 year reign in Israel.
It’s the 1000 year reign over the whole earth. Zachariah chapter 14 verse 9 says there will be one king over the whole earth and that kingdom will be for 1000 years. It says it six times in Revelation chapter 20. And this thousand years is going to be a test of man when Satan is bound up and his angels are bound up during that time. It begins with all believers, but those believers will have children. They are entering the millennium from the tribulation period in their mortal bodies and they will have children.
Their children will grow up and get married and have children and so on. In spite of the fact that Satan is bound up and his angels are bound up, there still will be those who will not trust Jesus as their Savior. You see the knowledge of the Lord will be permeating the whole earth. Christ will be visibly seen from Jerusalem. There will be no question about the fact is there Christ or is he around or is he visible or is he real?
He’s going to be right there really on the earth. So at the end Satan is loose for just a little moment and he rounds up millions of unbelievers. Isn’t that quite a surprise? It basically shows the wickedness of the human heart. This run known says why only a thousand years because this is the day of the Lord. It’s a thousand year day and I think it relates to the recreated week that there are six days And then the seventh day, the Lord rested, and the seventh thousand year day will be a day of peace on earth, good will toward men, and the whole earth will be at rest.
The animals will not be violent or carnivorous. The deserts will blossom. It’s going to be a wonderful thousand years. And we find that then God is going to destroy this earth and create a new heavens and new and that will then go on for eternity future. So hopefully Mr. Unknown that will help you with that question. We have David in Chattanooga, Tennessee and David welcome to Welcome to Bibleline, you are on the air. Thank you, sir. My question is this.
In the Luke and Hebrews chapter 11 it tells about several outstanding Bible characters and, you know, gives their accomplishments and so forth. But it doesn’t mention anything about their sins or their faults, their failures, their weaknesses. But back in the Old Testament it does. You know, like Noah, for instance. Yeah, he stood for gardens. He took his family into the ark, but after the flood, he begged for it and planned him some He too.
grapes and got drunk with wine. And you know, Sarah, she didn’t always believe God Moses. He wasn’t always a par. And I know there’s no contradiction in the Bible, and you know that. We were they… dealing with a lot of things. How can we think that? How can we deal with that? Well the answer is there you’re seeing them get graded on what they did. You’ll notice it says early in chapter that these obtained a good report or they got a good report card.
So here it’s detailing the points by which they scored a good report when they stand before the Lord one day. They will get an A on their report card. report card. I hope I get a pretty good grade. I hope I’m praying that I can score well. But they are scoring well on these things. And of course, this is not focusing on the negative. It’s focusing on the good things that they did, the things that they did in faith that got them a good report for for God.
So I believe that’s the answer. You know, I believe there’s, I think what I believe, okay. If God had been in Hebrew He was 11, and if the Word of God had started mentioning all these people’s faults and prayers and sins, I believe that would have death and have only been a contradiction because in Hebrews 10-17 he says their sins and the nichols, while I remember no more. And I believe that the grace of God and the grace of this inflation, I believe that had a lot to do with that.
Well that’s a good point David, and I thank you for your call. Yes, sir. All right. David and Chad and Nuga, Tennessee, we have Skip in Largo, Florida, and Skip welcome to Bibleline You Are On The Air. Hi, Dr. Hank. I’m quite sure for you. I was reading in Matthew, Mark, and Luke. There’s three things that are just about exactly the same, talking about the tribulation and how you know, it would be terrible for a woman to be giving birth.
and woe to you that will be traveling in the winter. And they’re almost identical. And then after that, and it says, then Christ will come in the clouds. So I’ve always heard you talking about the truth, that the rational will be before the tribulation. And I was wondering how can that be, if that says that in there? Okay, we’ll. Well, it’s really talking there about the second coming. The rapture happens first. Then the tribulation follows, during which time it will be difficult for a one who gives birth to a child and to raise that child during that seven years of time.
But at the end of that seven years, then Christ comes back in all of His power and all of His glory to rule and reign over the earth. So this is talking about the second coming the rapture will have already taken place to initiate that seven years of tribulation. So that’s the difference there. So you’re in the first phase and the second phase? You could say it that way but actually the second coming is when he actually puts his feet down on the earth again.
At the rapture Christ only comes part way to the upper atmosphere, shouts and up we go and we meet him in the air. And so he doesn’t actually come all the way back down to the earth. On the first coming Christ was literally his feet were on the soil here for 33 years until he died on the cross. And at the second coming his feet will be on the planet for a thousand years and it says in Ezekiel how he will plant his feet here on the earth.
He touches first on the Mount of Olives and it splits in half and in Zachary 14, 4. So the rapture is not really the second coming. The Rapture is significantly different. He only comes part way to evacuate the believers of this age. And so there is a difference and yes that happens for seven years before the Second Coming. Okay, well thank you very much. Alright, and that’s really what’s called rightly dividing the word. You have to be able to separate between the Rapture and the Second Coming.
If you go to my articles on my website, BibleLineMinistries.org, just click on Dr. Lynch articles, and there’s one called Who Me in the Rapture, and I distinguish about 20 different differences between the Rapture and the Second Coming. They’re certainly not the same, and we certainly don’t want to mix them up. They’re quite different. Christ only comes part-weighted the earth of the Rapture. 1 Thessalonians, chapter 4, verse 16 says, the Lord himself showed the seven descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, with and Trump have gone, and then the saints’ new bodies will rise up from the earth and meet their souls that are with the Lord up in their poor atmosphere.
Then we, which are alive, are 17 says and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. So this is a meeting in the air. We have JD in Petersburg and welcome I’m… Yes, hi. Hi. Am I in the line? On the air? You are on the air. Is this Dr. Lindstrom? Yes it is. Oh okay, your voice doesn’t sound familiar on the phone. Sorry. You’ve mentioned that Zachariah 14 a couple times today and I have a question.
It talks about during that millennial reign to celebrate the feast of tavern apples. Okay, that’s a very good question and I think the answer is that we’re in the church age and we are not under the Old Testament law and in fact in Galatians chapter 3 it tells those early Christians why do you want to go back under the law, why do you want to put yourself in bondage, why do you want to observe these different holy days and so on and so on because we are not under the law.
But once we get to the tribulation period, God is switching back to His purpose for Israel, and during the millennium Israel will be the head nation on the earth and they will celebrate this wonderful feast that typifies the fact that Christ is going to be tabernacleing or indwelling here on the earth in a human body where He can be seen. That’s what the celebration is all about. It’s really about Christ being in a human body here on the earth visibly ruling and tabernacling here on the earth and it’s going to be a thousand-year celebration of that and that’s what the Feast of Tabernacles is to celebrate.
So I think it has a special purpose for that thousand years. It is the picture of the thousand years in Christ tabernacling here among men on the earth. Well, I thank you for that answer and I actually It gives me goosebumps because I really look forward to that I hope we do get to celebrate that wonderful feast with our Lord. Amen. All right. Thank you so much for your call. All right, we have now We had a call from And it went away JD in Petersburg.
I believe that’s in Virginia If I’m not mistaken is that that he is very virginia is i think where we’re going welcome to bible and jade you’re on the air yes thank you sir how are you good dr hank uh… calling in regards to uh… your sample salvation and retentive things of that nature uh… i just want to make sure that my thinking is right here uh… anytime you go around this area and get track from a church or a pastor they’ll tell you that you need to repent of your sin, i.e.
turn from your sin. And believe well, definitely. I think if you infringe from your sin, and if you’re honest with yourself, I want to make sure my thinking is right. No one ever has. Yeah, yeah, exactly. You know, in regards to salvation, what more could you add to the blood of Christ’s death? Is burial in the past? Is that enough to save you? And they’ll say sure it is. Then I ask them Well, why do I have to turn it through a die trial about, you know, the most be a change in solar fuel, well, examine that phrase.
I think most pastors are well-meaning, but they blur the line between salvation and service. They’re not simply right. That’s exactly what’s going on. And they mix up the Salvation and Service, but also they really are coming at us with a wrong definition of repentance. The problem is that they don’t go to the Greek word which they ought to, which means the change of mind in the English word. That was a bad translation. It really doesn’t mean the same thing.
And so they go to their English dictionary too often and they find it a means term from sin. And so they latch on to that and they preach it. But they don’t realize that that adds work to salvation and makes salvation work and contradicts the Bible. That’s right. So, and there’s different versions. Some of them say, well, at least you have to be willing to turn for your sin, because they at least figure out, and they want it by thinking about it a little bit, that nobody really completely stops sinning once they get saved.
And we can have victory over sin, but nobody’s going to be able to live sin free in this world, in this human body. That’s why Paul said in Romans 7, 18, he said, I know that is in my flesh while it’s no good thing. How to will is present with me, but how to perform that which is good I find not. He says for the good that I would, I do not but the evil that I would not that I do.
And that’s Paul 25 30 years after he’s same. You know, the the certainly when we trust Christ, repentance is inherent in salvation. Exactly. It’s a part of when you believe you do change your mind and in trusting Christ is impossible to trust Christ without changing your mind. But when we get say we certainly want to grow on our faith. And that phrase turned from your sin, if you’re honest with yourself and examine that phrase, you would know that the only way you could actually complete that is if you cease to exist because you can never stop sin.
Is that correct? You’re absolutely right. Yeah. OK. Well, I appreciate your ministry and God bless you, sir. Thank you so much. And I’m glad that we’re able to clarify these things because so many folks are getting mixed up. especially when they hear, I remember one lady coming into my church and she said, Pastor, I’m going to hell. I said, why? She says, because I smoke and I told her, I said, well people in hell will smoke, but they don’t go to hell because they smoke.
And she said that she had never been able to conquer that and she was told that she had to repent of her sin of smoking to be able to go to heaven by some pastor and I said well let me just clarify this for you and I told her that repentance is a change of mind about Christ and about how you become saved and has nothing to do with your smoking and you know she trusted the Lord and about three weeks later she came back and she said guess what I said what she says I don’t smoke anymore she said you know ever since I trusted the Lord the Lord took away my desire to smoke and now I’m not saying he’ll do that for everybody but he certainly did it for this lady and so here was the lady who tried everything to get rid of smoking and thought she’d go to
hell because she did learn that if she just trusted the Lord she’d be saved and then God gave her the power to have victory over this habit that she wanted to get rid of. We’re going to Wilner in Port Charlotte, Florida here and and Wilner, welcome to Bibleline it. Good morning, Father Hank. Father Hank, my question first is found out exactly. Can we find enough verses in the Bible to support the fact that once a person truly repents and believes in the Lord Jesus Christ, you receive salvation?
Is it possible to lose it? I heard you before, but I just wanted to ask you. Well, it’s impossible to lose it, Willner. John 637, write these down. This is just a few. But it says, him that came for me, Christ says, I will in no wise cast out. So Christ is never going to cast you out for any reason. He says, I will in no wise cast you out. So there’s nothing you could do that would ever cause Christ to cast you out, John 637.
But even better, some people say, well, all right, He won’t cast me out, but I can cast myself out. Well, if you go to John 639, that’s impossible. Jesus said, this is the Father’s will which I sent me, that of all which have given me, I should lose none. N-O-N-E, none. Not one. But raise them all up again to the last day. So if Christ is keeping you saved and He will not lose one, that that’s God the Father’s will, how can anyone be lost?
You know, if anyone were ever lost after they became saved, Christ would be a liar. The Bible would be wrong. You might as well light a match to the Bible and walk away. So it’s impossible because Christ said not only would He not cast you out, but He’s keeping you saved and it says He will not lose even one person. Well, we thought that that should answer right there Thank you, sir. I appreciate it. What one more comment There was in general who called before and talk about in Hebrew the fact that some of our beautiful heroes in Old Testament I’m thinking about the fact that Thought that you’ve been trying to show us that None none whatsoever is fuel here so we have to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus Christ.
There you go. We’re all sinners, aren’t we? And we’ve all come short of the glory of God and only by trusting Christ can we become righteous in God’s sight because God He credits us with his righteousness when we trust in the substitute of death of Christ at the Cross of Calvary. We’re coming to the end of the program and we’re going to be in the first half anyway. We’re going to take a break and come back and do a second half hour.
If you haven’t given a gift to Bibleline this month of April, would you send a gift or call in and give a gift by credit card over the phone? Your partnership with us is indispensable. If you haven’t trusted Jesus, just tell him, Lord, I’m a sinner, but I trust that you died and shed your blood as the only means of my salvation and I trust that you, crew, were crucified and buried and risen again from the dead and I trust you right now as my Savior. Of course, you ought to make that second decision to become a servant, a disciple, and live for Christ after your save. That brings about reward, but salvation is a gift.

The video the audio will come up and you’ll see and hear the Sunday message that we deliver. And of course, if you can’t get it at that time, you can go and catch it in archive. And there are several months worth of sermons there you can take a look at and listen to. We hope you will. By the way, Bibleline is supported by our listeners. And if you haven’t given a gift Bibleline this month of April, would you do it?
You can do it by credit card over the phone. Just call our operators. They’re friendly. You can also do it by mail. If you call in, you can have an envelope sent to you with our address on it. And we can send an envelope out and you can mail a gift to the Bible. And plus we have so many resources. We have the Schofield Bible that I recommend that is so effective in helping you get your doctor in solid.
Also, we have the Strongs and Coordins, and we have a couple of commentaries that I recommend. They’re getting more difficult to get. It seems like the good stuff is disappearing and is not going to be reprinted. That’s unfortunate, but it’s a sign of our times. But you might want to start building a library and get some good stuff in your library while you can still get some of these things. And we have them stocked here in our Resource Center.
You can look at all of that on our website, which is at BibleLineMinistries.org. Click on the online bookstore. The phones are lighted up here. We’re going to go ahead and go to the phone lines and still try to get some of these all-fare questions taken care of. But we have Jerry in Crystal Springs, Florida, tuned in and welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air, Jerry. Yes, Dr. Heinek. I’ve been told that they had a piece of NFTC and about the Gentiles, the end of the 400 years or something.
Do you know anything about that? I’m not too sure. I haven’t been paying attention to anybody saying that. But of course, we’re in the last days. I think no doubt about it. Christ’s return is soon if he comes this year or whatever year he comes I believe he’ll probably come on the Feast of Trumpets which this year would be September 12th and That I think is the feast day that was a prophetic picture of the Rapture There are seven feast days the first four have been literally fulfilled Christ died as the Passover lamb on the Feast of Passover buried during the Feast of Unleavened Bread, rose from the dead on the Feast of First Fruits, and then on the Feast of Pentecost, this age began, and the Holy Spirit came to end to all the believers.
The next feast ends this age, the Feast of Trumpets, this year, September 12th. So I’m not saying he’s coming this year, but I always in the fall get up on my tippy toes and get ready. So I hope that helps a little bit but I don’t know anything about what you’re talking about but I’ll keep my ears to the ground. I appreciate the call. All right. I’ll be speaking one time about all the couple of Moses was going to be one of the two witnesses.
If the Bible says it is pointed on the man by once and then the judgment, why would Moses have to go through another death? Well, the answer is I think that the will be able to pray and shut up the heavens that are done. According to Revelation 11, that’s Elijah. The other prophet will smite the waters and turn them to blood. Moses was the guy who did that and also smite the earth with plagues as often as you will.
Moses did that. So I think the second one is Moses, but also if you read Jude, the little book of Jude verse 9, it says that Michael the Archangel disputed with Satan as Satan disputed over the fact that the body of Moses apparently has been preserved. for this very event so they almost got down into a knockdown drag-out fight but the michael said he just simply said the lord rebuked the state but satan was apparently calling foul but if you look at all the passages associated with the second coming it’s always Moses look at you will at the amount of transfiguration Matthew chapter seventeen peter james and john were caught up into this high mountain and they saw jesus transfigured and will as he will appear as their second coming And who’s standing there next to Christ?
It’s Moses and Elijah. And so I think, and I can quote many passages, but Moses and Elijah are the two that are associated with the Second Coming of Christ and Edich wouldn’t qualify. I think they have to be prophets that existed during the dispensation of law. And Moses and Elijah meet that qualification because that has to do with Israel and the the covenant that God gave with them at Mount Sinai, and the tribulation period is the last seven years of that Old Testament Age of Law.
And so you can’t pull somebody from a previous time period. You have to come out of that period from the law at Mount Sinai until the end of the age, which is at the end of the tribulation period. This age of grace has been slipped in and will be sucked out at the rapture. Hopefully that helps. Okay, look up Jude verse nine interesting verse we have Philip in Tampa, Florida and Philip welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes, fine.
Thank you. Question for Dr. Nate. You’re on the air. Go ahead. Okay. It was regarding an event in the book of Acts, And the French all had gone to Jerusalem, and at that time the apostles had required of him to pay for these other young men, several young men, for their baveright, Krenby, I guess, they had to shave their heads, and they had to also bring in a taco I didn’t understand why Paul agreed to do that. You explained on that.
It seemed like it was an unnecessary sacrifice on Jesus Christ was already the sacrificial lamb. I think Paul, just compromised there. I don’t think that he was right in doing that. So that I hope answers the question. he compromised himself in doing that. There’s a lot of pressure in those days to follow Jewish observances, but Paul normally stood very, very tall on those issues. I hope that helps a little bit, Phil, but that’s I think the answer. We’re gonna go to some of the unfair questions here.
We have again, unknown calling again. I don’t know what city, what planet, This person’s calling from it says here you spoke of an unbelievable book that does not teach truth What is the name of the book and who wrote it? and of course, that’s the book of Mormon and Supposedly It was transmitted to Joseph Smith by the angel Maroney and I call it Maroney baloney And I hope that answers your question Unknown again, he’s all over the place here calling in and I wish we could get a sit or something, so I’m going to location for him or maybe these questions are beamed down.
During the seven-year tribulation, will it be hard to be saved? The answer is yes, Satan will be obviously deceiving people and he’ll have great powers at his disposal along with the false prophet and they’ll deceive the nations by the… By means of the miracles at which they have the power to do, the book of Revelation says several times. So it will be difficult. What if the unsaved die before they die before they change their mind? Well, they’ll obviously go to hell.
But I still believe that the Bible promises that if a person is seeking, that God will keep you alive and not let you die until you’ve heard the gospel. So I think that that still is obviously an effect even in the tribulation period if you seek You will be found we have now Anonymous boy an anonymous and unknown. I don’t know if these are related enough at least anonymous is in Tampa chapter and verses please In times question We’re in the Bible see these things happening the moon and the stars and so on That’s in Matthew 24 where it talks about the moon will be darkened and or the moon will not give her light.
What is fascinating is the relationship to the sun and the moon that the Bible describes. You know in other world religions the their astronomy is really bad. They teach that the sun and the moon are two sources of light or two torches in the heavens. Well, the sun could be considered a torch, but not the moon, but the Bible doesn’t make that mistake. The Bible says that the moon is a reflective body way back in the Old Testament. We find that when the sun is darkened, then the moon doesn’t give her light because there’s not much to reflect.
The Bible is really on target with that. Nacchit 24 is a wonderful chapter, the Olivetness Course, that talks about when Christ comes back that the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give her light. So I hope that answers that I’m not getting a whole lot of information from you, but I’m guessing that that’s the passage you’re referring to. Another anonymous from Florida, somewhere in Florida. Dr. Linschram, what do you think of the Southern Baptist denomination? For many years, their seminaries or cemeteries were quite liberal.
They have really done a good job of cleaning that up a lot, but oftentimes the Southern Baptist churches will not draw a line between salvation and discipleship and mix them up in their presentation. And generally they do not get repent correct. The acronym that the Southern Baptist Convention is using today for salvation, which is called faith, which sounds like a nice one, but the fourth one, the T in faith, they say means to turn from sin. Now that is not correct and that is wrong and I hope that they will correct that in the future, but otherwise they have lots of good qualities, but the gospel message is blurred oftentimes in many southern Baptist churches and let’s pray that they can get that clarified.
I think if people point out the flaw in the false teaching on repentance and that to say that you have to turn from sin is a part of the faith plan of evangelism and point out that it’s wrong would perhaps bring about some clarity there. Alright we are coming to you from Tampa Florida and we hope that you’re enjoying the program and we thank you for listening from wherever you might be. This is Friday. We hope you’ll tune us in over the weekend if you live in the Tampa Bay area.
We hope that you’ll come back and catch us on Monday, live on your station. We also hope that you’ll use the internet and that way you can catch the programs anytime you would like to. We have Joe here in Pimbroke Pines down in South Florida Florida says, I agree with you 100% that these people who claim that they went to heaven didn’t go there. And he says Luke 16, 27 through 31 is a good example of this. I agree.
The life after death experiences the so-called people who go to heaven and come back and write or tell the story about it. I don’t believe any of this is happening at all. So I think that we need to be careful to check out what we believe against the Bible. I like Erwin Lutzer of the Moody Church in Chicago, like his radio program called Running the Wind. And he’s written a book that we have in our Resource Center here called One Minute After You Die.
But he didn’t claim you went to heaven and came back to tell you about what happens when you die. But he takes the Scriptures and describes what heaven will be like and what happens exactly one minute after you die. according to the Bible. And that’s the way I think to approach I would recommend you get the book one minute after you die if you want to know about heaven, and not go to those who claim that they had been there and come back.
I think that is not really happening at all. We have a question here. Jim in Petersburg, Virginia says, please clear up Matthew 1022 for him. This is you shall be or a Vaulman for my namesake, but he that endured to the end shall be saved. It’s talking about a physical salvation, not eternal salvation. The end there is the end of the tribulation period, and if you survive to the end of the tribulation period, you will live physically to enter into the Millennial Kingdom.
It’s not talking about having everlasting life by enduring to the end. So this is a verse that many will use to add works to salvation, which of course we know is a contradiction of so many verses that talk about the coming of Christ. So the end in sight there is the end of the tribulation. If they survive to the end of that, then they will be saved physically to live into the millennial kingdom. We have Betty in Palm Harbor and she’s asking about chapter 17 and she doesn’t tell me what book but I’m going to guess and I’m turning her now that she’s talking about Luke’s Gospel because it seems like that might fit.
Let me see here what it says here and see if it doesn’t match up to the question. In Luke 17, 34, it talks here about the second coming. Okay, it’s not the Rapture. It says here to be two in one bed, the one will be taken, the other left. The second coming is when the ones that are taken are taken in judgment and they’re killed and the ones that are left are left behind to enter into the millennium. Now the opposite takes place at the Rapture.
The ones at the rapture that are taken are the saved to meet the Lord in the air and the ones that are left are the ones that are saved, rather not saved, that are lost that will enter the tribulation period and suffer the times of the tribulation. Many hope that helps. It’s the second coming out the rapture and it’s talking about the days of Lot. What happened was the ones that were taken in judgment and killed were the people in Sodom and the ones that were left to live were a lot in his daughters that escaped.
Alright we have Mary in Bartow, Florida and she says, could I explain John chapter 6 verse 45 so I’m turning there right now and Thank you Mary and Barto for calling in and in John chapter 6 in verse 45 It says it is written in the prophets and they shall all be taught of God Every man therefore that a third and it’s learned of the Father come to me. And again, God reveals truth to those that are seeking the truth.
And I think that’s what it’s talking about. It’s saying there that you, when you actually learn about God, it’s because he has chosen to reveal himself and he reveals himself to those who seek him. If you seek he will find, if you knock it, the door will be opened, if you ask it will be given to you. And so those that are seeking will find the Lord Jeremiah 2913, you shall seek me and find me when you shall search me with all your heart.
And so the seeking here is about finding the Lord and it says, no, not that any man has seen the Father save he which is of God. He has seen the Father. And then Christ says in verse 47, very rarely I say unto you, he that believeth on me has everlasting life. Of course, that’s the result of your seeking. You’ll find Christ as the Savior who died for your sins, and God saves you the moment you trust Him as your Savior.
We’re going to go now to the phone lines again. And this time we have Jeff on the line and Jeff is calling in from… Let’s see where he’s calling him from. I don’t even know. But Jeff, welcome to Bibleline from Venice, Florida. Okay, Jeff, welcome to Bibleline. Hey Dr. Hank, how you doing? I just noticed that you were talking about God’s Seekers there. But Romans chapter 3 verse 11 says there is no God’s speaker. And that’s true of ourself.
Our nature is that we would never look for God and never seek him. But because God first The Bible says in Luke 19 and 10, the Son of Man has come to seek it to save it, which is lost. Because the Holy Spirit convicts us that the Holy Spirit is seeking us, we become responsible to seek Him. Romans 1, the same thing where it says that the knowledge of God’s existence is implanted in every individual. So verse 20 says there without excuse, but of our own nature, if God just didn’t even bother with us, we would never seek to find Him.
We would never find Him. But God initiates it by planning a knowledge of Himself in His Romans 119 by convicting the whole world, all the lost, of their need of God in the Holy Spirit, convicting every man of sin, righteousness and judgment and the Lord Jesus Christ seeking us out, we become responsible to seek Him back. So I think that’s the answer. If you refer that back to Romans 8 though, it says the natural mind is unable to understand the words of God, or even to correspond to God.
How does that fit? Well that’s also true, except they can hear and believe the gospel. So a person can be really smart, read the Bible and get nothing out of it. But Jesus said that if they hear His words, and that’s why I think we need to quote scripture point out scripture to people because it’s living and powerful and can bring life to a person who is dead. It says in James 1 that we have been begotten again by His word.
The word of course brings life. And it says over there in John 5, Jesus said in verse 24, barely, barely. I say unto you he that hear my word and then believes it says we will have eternal life though Not coming to Canada nation will be passed from death in the life and then John 5 25 says the dead can hear The words of the Son of God and those that hear believing it Will live and that’s exactly the case so an unsafe person can respond to the gospel So in John 644 Where Jesus says those who were given me the will come to me are the ones who are basically called by God, obviously, so therefore they come to Jesus and they’re raised up on the last day.
Well, everybody is called invited to be saved, but only those who respond by faith and trusting Christ are the ones who become saved. In John 644, it says, no man can come to the father except the father draw him, but then if you look over in John chapter 12 in verse 31 it says that Christ would draw all men to himself. So the Holy Spirit and Christ are drawing all men to himself and it is your personal choice and my personal choice to accept him or reject him.
And those who receive him are the ones that are saved and that’s what is saying there in John 5.25 where they can hear the words of the Son of God and if they hear those words believing or receiving those words then they do indeed become saved at that moment. Sure thank you for calling in today Jeff and Vensworth at the end of the program. We have to run. Let me invite you to come by this weekend.
