Thanks for tuning in and again, God bless all of you who listen. You all are a blessing to us here at Bibleline and hopefully we’re a blessing to you each day. Go to the home page BibleLineMinistries.org.com BibleLineMinistries.org.com and click on the spinning globe and you’ll be connected to our radio program and you can tell your friends overseas in other parts of the country.

Maybe we’re They wouldn’t have the live broadcast and tell them how they can click on that and hear the Bible and program. We’re hearing reports all the time. In fact, we’ll probably read a letter in a few minutes from Kenya, Africa, a guy who regularly listens and writes in an email here to Bible. And so they’re in Africa. They’re in Nigeria and Kenya and all around the world. In India, we just got one last week from India. So check it out.

and you can pass the word on along about Bibleline that way. Last night we began the first in our series of John. We have a wonderful class of people taking the class and many on the internet. And if you’d like to get on board and take the Gospel of John on the internet, you can do that. Not too late. And take the class if you will simply give a $60 gift to Bibleline. You can get the pass code. And you really haven’t missed anything because you can go back and catch last night’s two hours of classes on John’s gospel on the internet.

It’ll sit there now until the end of these classes. And over the next five weeks, we’ll do 10 more hours of teaching, a total of 12 hours of teaching on the gospel of John. So take advantage and take that study with us. you’ll find it is going to be very, very helpful in learning this wonderful book. This is a deep book. It really has a lot in it. And yet it has some of the truths so simple that you can just take them right off the top of the table.

Others we dig in for and you’ll have a great time in this wonderful study. By the way, you’re always welcome to come by and visit during the week. We have a resource center open until about 430 every day here in the Tampa Bay area, but you can visit our resource center from anywhere on the globe by going to the website. That’s right. Click on the online bookstore and there you’ll see all the resources we have. And we have things in this resource center that I recommend.

And that’s important because I’ve spent a lot of money from the time I was a new believer, being aware of the fact that a lot of books aren’t worth a whole lot, I wasted a lot of money. Well, this will obviously direct you to things that are very, very valuable and will really be the best value for your money. And you can get that right through the Bibleline bookstore either in person here or over the internet and we can ship that out to you and hopefully you’ll take advantage of the tracks we have.

We’ve got wonderful tracks that really work. I mean, we believe and we’ve seen it happen where you give the person a track if they read it, they oftentimes will get saved. It’s not good. And we have the book on evangelism, handbook, a personal evangelism for a gift of $12. And we sell the tracks in packs of a hundred. And they are printed on really good quality paper. Usually people don’t throw them away because They’re so nice just in appearance and the printing is so good that they are hesitant to throw them away.

They’re not like those cheap tracks that people just wad up and throw in the trash can. So these pay off. We had one fellow that tells the story that he was given a track, one of our tracks, in the workplace. to be respectful, he took it, didn’t read it. Put it in his dresser drawer, 13 years later, catch this. 13 years later, he’s cleaning out his sock drawer, finds the track he had placed there 13 years earlier. I guess he didn’t clean out his sock drawer very often.

But in any case, he’s seven years he was bed read it, and he got saved, and he and his family had began to come to our church. It was amazing. You know, here’s a track that laid dormant for 13 years after heaven been given. And yet, it’s finally bore fruit and the person read it. and God saved. Isn’t it wonderful? And that’s really the kind of track this is. We also have the CDs, how permanent is your salvation, really works.

And many, many people who have heard the CD get saved. We hear reports every week. People who have angelized giving out that CD, and they are finding great results. And we have nurses that tell us that they have played these at night for their patients and their patients get saved. It’s been a real blessing to see how they’re used wherever they might be. I want to welcome all of our audiences listening from different jails and prisons. We know we have a lot of prisoners who listen and they write us and we’re praying for all of you guys.

I know some of you are getting into the Bible and are sharing it with other inmates and are growing in the Lord. And you’re listening to Bibleline and we thank God for all of you and we’re praying for all of you that are listening in different jails and different prisons around the country. Anyway, we’re going to get into the Bible for a few minutes and then we’ll go ahead and take the callers today. we would like to have you feel free to call in at 1-800-576-3771.

That’s 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. We have a lot of offer questions, but we’ll take live questions and we hope you’ll call in at that number. We’re going to talk about a couple of difficult passages, and one of those is brought up often and it’s in 2 Peter, and it’s a passage that talks about false teachers but is oftentimes used to be a proof text for losing your salvation which is impossible. you become saved, you are saved forever. And that’s quite plain in the Bible that Jesus says in John 637, him that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out.

That means for no reason, under no circumstances, would Christ ever cast out a believer? So therefore a believer will never be cast out. I’ve had some people when I tell them that say, Okay, okay, okay, I concede Christ won’t cast me out, but then they come back and say, but I can cast myself out. Well, that’s not even true. You can’t do that. You know, if you read John 639, Jesus says, this is the Father’s will that of all which have given me I should lose none.

None. Christ is saying he would never lose one person who has come to him. So you cannot be lost because you are not keeping yourself saved. It is not in your charge. It is not your responsibility. God is the one who keeps you saved. And God says it is his will, but not one person would ever be lost. Think about this. If one person in all of history were ever lost after they became saved, Christ would be a liar.

The Word of God would be wrong. And you might as well might have matched to the Bible and just walk away and forget the whole thing. The Bible doesn’t tell lies. God is not going to violate his word. The Bible says God cannot lie. Titus 1-2. And so God is going to do exactly what He promised to do. And His word, the Bible tells us, never fail. I love that old hymn. Jesus never fails. Friends will prove untrue, the hymn says.

But Jesus never fails. Jesus never fails. Every Every time he comes through, and guess what? He said he would never cast you out, John 637. He said he would never lose you. John 639, write those down. Second Peter begins by saying, there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers or preachers among you. And these will bring in privately or secretly or undercover, damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

Here are thoughts on how the preachers are unsaved, and they deny The Lord that bought them, isn’t that amazing? Jesus died even for false teachers and false prophets. And it says here that these false preachers wind up denying the Lord that bought them. And they bring upon themselves swift destruction. You know, if anybody goes to hell, it really ultimately falls back on their own head because Christ died to pay for the sins of every man, woman, and child that would ever be born.

He has bought you at the cross. He has redeemed you. He’s delivered you by paying the price of his death and shed blood to pay for your sin. The Bible says here when you deny the Lord that bought you, then you bring upon yourselves swift destruction. All the way through is talking about these false teachers, and it says in verse 17, I mean, these are wells without water. They are clouds carried with a tempest, to whom the mist of darkness is reserved forever.

Here talks about being cast into darkness, which is what hell is all about, where you will be separated from God forever and ever. What is interesting about hell is that it is described as a lake of fire, and then it is also described as the blackness of darkness forever in the book of Jude. How can we reconcile that? Well I believe that the sun that gives us our light every day is a lake of fire. And if you were cast into the sun, you’d be cast into a lake of fire.

But yet if you were to look outward from the sun, you would see the blackness of space. And so you would be surrounded by the blackness and darkness of outer space. And yet at the same time you would be in a lake of fire and I believe that’s what hell is all about. And Jesus says more in the Bible about hell than he does about heaven because he doesn’t want people to go there and he warns clearly in Mark 9, 42, 44, 46, he says it’s a place where the soul will never die and the fire will never be quenched.

I would never want to go to hell. I wouldn’t want you to go to hell. God doesn’t want you to hell. And Christ certainly didn’t want you to go to hell because he was willing to die. So you wouldn’t have to go there. And when you trust Christ, God delivers you from this awful place called hell. If you read here through this passage, it uses a lot of personal pronouns here to describe these false teachers. And it says, while they promise them liberty, they themselves are become the servants of corruption.

Here’s talking about these false prophets. They, they, they, they, they, they, they, they, them, and so on. Then it says in verse 20, if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, they are entangled again, they’re in and overcome. The latter end is worse with them than the beginning. So you’ll find here that it’s talking about people that have been escaping pollution of the world immorality i think of the cults the mormons come to your door they certainly look clean neat attractive they bathe they uh…

i’m sure use the internet uh… they they look good they smell good and and uh… they don’t that commit uh… a lot of sins that people are involved in our world and they escape those pollutions yet the Jesus of Mormonism is not the Jesus of the Bible. And although they claim that they are Christian and have escaped many of those solutions, they are still going to hell because they reject the Savior. This is in verse 1 here. They deny the Lord the bottom.

They don’t believe in the Jesus of the Bible. Therefore they deny the Lord the bottom and bring upon themselves swift destruction. In verse 21 it goes on to say in 2 Peter chapter 2, it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness. Christ said, I am the way the truth in the life. The way to be saved, the way to be righteousness in God’s sight is to trust in Christ. And when they turn from the way of righteousness and the commandment to believe on Christ, the The Bible says that they obviously will have a worse end as a result because they will be judged for rejecting greater light and the degree of punishment they will receive in hell will be greater than had they not even known at all.

It says here, it has been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than to turn from the Holy Commandment delivered unto them. A lot of verse over in 1 John says in chapter 3 verse 23, this is his commandment. we believe on Jesus his son. When you believe on Jesus, God saves you. The Bible says, whosoever believe that Jesus is the Son of God is born of God. And if you are born of God, then you are obviously saved and saved forever.

I hope you right now listening right now have trusted Christ. And if you haven’t, would you do it right now? Just tell the Lord Lord I’m a sinner. I don’t understand a whole lot about the Bible, but I believe Jesus died for me and I trust him right now as my Savior. Well, I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom and this is Bible. lots of callers are lines are all lit up and we’re going to go right now to the callers the phone numbers one eight hundred five seven six three seven seven one we have Albert in Richmond Virginia and Albert welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.

Yes sir I know that the we’re now adult Sunday school class this past week somebody said something about eternal security and I wrote down that you know what you said John six thirty six and six thirty nine yes but uh… so in a way just one person brought up the verse about have not done this in your name and have not done that in your name and he and the lord said the part of me i never knew you well i didn’t get a chance to to say anything in the class but i think what what you’ve said in the past is they never were saved they were dependent on their works and not to finish work of jesus christ amen you got exactly right you know jesus He says they’re in Matthew 7, 23.

That’s the passage you’re referring to. He says, I never knew you for that group. And he didn’t say, I once knew you and I lost you. He says, I never knew you. And the reason why he never knew them is they didn’t come up with the right answer. They didn’t say, Lord, we believe, have believed that you died on the cross and shed your blood and paid our sin debt. And we’re buried and rose again from the dead. They don’t talk about the gospel.

They brag about all the wonderful works they’ve done and we’re not saved by work. crisis i never do you you know people have a have a ten-minute i said you can set up a g i think you’re right uh… i know that the god use that one in john fifteen about them the band in the branches burn up for it can’t define it but they say that you can but but that’s not losing a salvation that’s work that’s rewards exactly talking about bearing fruit and if you don’t bear any fruit just like if you were a husband and you were going out and working in your garden, you would prune the branches that are dead and then productive and they’d be cast in the fire and burn.

And it says there, and that passage, men gather them and burn them. So basically your testimony but with men is ineffective and worthless only to be burned and will bring about no reward in heaven. So it’s talking about fruit bearing, not how to be saved. He’s talking about people that are saved as it says, every branch in me. Now to be a branch in the vine, you have to trust Christ. It says in Philippians 3.9, be found in me by faith.

So when you put your trust in Christ, then you are found in Christ. But then after you’re saved and are found in Christ, you ought to be producing fruit. And if you don’t, then your testimony is useless and of no value and you’ll have no rewards in heaven. If I could back the last one. I was so glad you called in Albert in Richmond, Virginia, and we hope that that’ll help when he’s answering that in the Senate school class.

We have Dennis in Oldsmar, Florida. Dennis, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Dennis, you’re on the air. Yes. Hey, Hank, how you doing? Good morning. Good morning to you. I had a question. The relative of was that church and the pastor wouldn’t let this young lady take communion because she was about seven years old. She is saved. I mean she accepted Christ and what could be done about that is should we go to talk to the pastor and explain where we stand on it?

I think that’s the first way to go. I think really the parents have to make that choice. I tell the parents if you are convinced that your child knows the Lord and understands what this is all about, then it’s your call. And it’s not my call. I believe that the parents know better than I as they live with that child every day when that child knows the Lord of Savior. And I believe that many children get saved very young, four and five.

And I’ve had some people tell me they were saved when they were three. I have to take the word for it, but certainly very young. Some reject the Lord very strongly at those young ages. I’ve had little children tell me, no, I will not trust Jesus, this is my savior. But I think that that’s the parents and I ought to make that call. And I try to give advice to say, you need to really He said, sit down with your child and talk to them about it.

Make sure they know the Lord and then tell them what the significance of the Lord’s Supper is that it doesn’t save us, but it’s a way of being reminded about what a great price he paid. He gave his life and his blood was shed and that’s what it’s all about. Yes. But I think it might appeal to the pastor to say, you know, we believe our child is saved and therefore, I think since Christ invites all the saved to partake that she ought to be invited as well.

I do appreciate that and we’ll try to pursue it that way. She does want to take communion because she understands what communion is all about. It upsets her quite a bit. I do appreciate it. You’re very welcome. We’ll take a look at that. One other quick question. I was listening to a sermon in the sermon. They were talking about the angels which, and they were calling the sons of God. That’s not true. God never called an angel his son.

If you want to write this verse down, Hebrews 1-5 tells us to which the angels that God ever called his son. And the answer implied very strongly in that verse is he never called an angel his son. And so that’s just not true. The person came back and when I presented that particular verse to him, he says, well, that’s the son is in capital. So, he’s saying that God never called him his son being Jesus. Well, you never called any angel his son.

You know, there is no reference in the Bible to angels being called the sons of God. Some people try to make out that in Genesis 6 it’s talking about angels and that’s just reading something that’s not in the story at all. First of all, angels don’t marry, Matthew 20-30. Secondly, the phrase, sons of God, was used prior to Genesis 6 of believers. What was happening here is that believers were marrying unbelievers when it says the daughters of men, that’s a phrase used in the Bible of unbelievers.

The sons of men and daughters of men are talking about those that are not born again, and those that are sons of God are those that are born again. back early in chapter 4 of Genesis it says, in the days of Seth, men began to call upon the name of the Lord and when they called upon him they became saved and they become the sons of God and that was what was taking place there and so obviously angels don’t marry and angels don’t reproduce and to try to say that they have children is wrong.

Also over in Job they try to say the sons of God there were angels and some because a mistakenly think the scene is taking place in heaven. But the scene is here on the earth where the believers, the sons of God, were coming together to worship and Satan also came along to observe what was taking place. And so the sons of God there were humans. The children of Job coming to worship the Lord and Satan was observing all of this and the Lord of course then engaged Satan in a conversation.

And he says to Satan, where of you have been, where have you been? He says, I’ve come here from Rome, to and fro throughout the earth. So it was on the earth and he came over to where the Lord was and he was observing what was happening among the believers and the Lord looks over and points out Job and says, if you notice him, he’s really incredible and brags on Job and then Satan of course says, you know, that’s because you got a hedge of protection about him.

Let me get at him here and I’ll take away some of his possessions and attack him and watch he’ll curse you and of course Joe never did but it’s a beautiful story about something that took place here on the earth. Yes, I appreciate your answer. Thank you very much. You’re very welcome, Dennis and thank you for keeping listening to the Bible on. We have Tony in Plant City, Florida. Tony, welcome to Bibleline your on the air. Good morning, and how are you?

Good. some questions about some verses I’d like to ask and then I’d like to hang up and and write them down if I could. The first one is Loop 10, verse 25, and 1 Corinthians 15, 2, and then the one… Whopper through 24. And if I could hang up and start making some notes that’d be great. Okay, now the first one is Luke 10 what? I think he’s already… I think it was Luke 10 25. Let me Turn to that one first and we’ll try to get these answered for you.

It says This is in Luke 1025. This is about the rich young ruler and it says here what good things should I do that I may have eternal life. This is a person who is focused on works for salvation. Christ is telling him that he can’t be saved by keeping the commandments or by works. He later says in the pistol rather in Matthew’s gospel that with men this is impossible. You can’t. be saved by the commandments but by the new birth and we’ll have to catch that after the break and talk about that.

We’ll try to catch those as we can squeeze them in the second half. We’re about ready to go to break now so we don’t want you to miss the second half so we hope you’ll keep your radio down to right where it is and stay with us through the break and we’ll be right back to do a second half hour and thanks to any of that question We’ll try to catch it right after the break when we get back.

So keep your radio right where it’s at. We’ll be right back after this break. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. All right, I’m Dr. Englund Striman. This is Bible and it’s wonderful to be with you. And we are glad that you’re listening in every day. We just began that new class, the Gospel of John. It’s not too late for you to sign up and take it here in the classroom in Tampa at my church, Calvary Community Church, or to take it online.

And all you have to do is call and it’s for a gift of $60. We’ll give you the passcode. And the nice thing about being online is you can watch it not only live, but you can watch it as often as you like throughout the week. So you might want to take advantage of that and watch the Gospel John verse by verse. We had a great beginning and we hope that you might get in on this class. We’ve only just begun.

We’ve got five more weeks or ten more hours of teaching to complete the series. And we hope that you’ll take advantage of the Gospel John. Also, we want you to know that we are listeners supporting and the summer is the lean months of the year for Christian Giving across the board for every church and organization, I believe. So let me encourage you to maybe consider giving to Bible and helping us shore up our financial situation here by your generous gift.

You can give a gift by credit card over the phone. You can also give one by mailing it in. If you call 800-number you can do that over the phone and ask for an envelope to be sent with our address on it or you can give a gift by credit card over the telephone. And thank you in advance for your giving to Bible and we appreciate you so much and we really couldn’t survive without you. We hope you’ll come by and see us sometime.

If you ever come into Tampa from wherever you might live, come by and see us. We have had visitors really from all over from many other countries that have come in here and also from many parts of the United States. And we certainly enjoy meeting our listeners when they come and we’ll try to give you the royal treatment when you come by because we love to meet our listeners. God bless all of you. And thank you for those at write notes and send cards and words of thanks and encouragement.

It means a lot to us to know that we are reaching out and helping people and we have people that call after the show and many of those express their gratitude and some we talk to who have problems that we’re able to comfort and give direction to and that’s exciting. We’re going to rejoin now the stations that have been on break and do the second half hour Bible and so I hope you’ll keep your radio dial tuned right where it is.

The second half is also on the internet if you want to go there. But here we go with the second half hour of Bible. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright we’re back in that break and this is Bibleline and I’m not Hank Lindstrom. coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church and it’s a joy to be with you and thanks for tuning in and this is Wednesday.

We have a prayer meeting tonight you’re welcome to come out and we do about a 40 minute Bible study, question and answer period during the time that we come together for prayer. We also then take prayer requests. But you’re invited. You’re also invited on Sunday. You’re invited to come by during the week during the daytime and visit our Resource Center. We always invite people to come by and we want you to feel free to do that. Many people come and say, I’m here because you invited me.

Well, that makes us feel good that you feel welcome and you’re welcome, of course, anytime. During the week, during the day, visit a resource center. I’d like to meet you if I’m here and also, of course, on a Wednesday night or Sunday morning, Sunday evening, we’d love to have you visit as well. I have an adult class at 9.15 and then a worship service at 10.30 and you can get in on the teaching here at my church and you’re welcome to do that.

By the way, on the internet, you can catch the morning worship by going to the home page, clicking on the camera, and there’s a blank screen right in the middle that only comes alive between 11 and 12 on Sunday morning. So if you go there during the week, it’ll just remain blank. If you want to see past sermons, just go to the left side and click on archives and you’ll get about four or five months of sermons. If you are waiting for the Sunday morning, go there about 11 and in preparation there will be clouds going by and assignments that stand by.

And you’ll hear the old rugged cross. But when I actually begin the message, the audio and the video will come up and I hope you’ll take advantage. We have more and more people every Sunday joining us on the Internet and we hope that you’ll take advantage. advantage. Now it’s going to go into archive after it takes us about a day or two to get it up in archive, but then you can watch the previous Sunday sermon as often as you want in the archive section.

We also want you to know that we are listeners supported. You know the summer months are the lean months for giving. I think every pastor, every church will tell you that giving drops off during the summer months and we are no exception. Bible and experience is not too. And so if you could consider helping us over the summer, this would be a time when we could really use your help. And your gift would be greatly appreciated. You can call and give a gift by credit card over the phone.

You can also mail one in and if you would like you can call and ask for an envelope to be sent to you with our address on it. have a listen, thanks in advance for your prayers and for your gifts, the Bible and we can’t tell you how much we thank you for that. We have been in Zephyr Hills, Florida and then we’re going to try to go back to some of Tony’s questions. But Ben, welcome to Bible and you’re on the air.

Yeah, so good morning, Dr. Hank. Good morning. Well, I wanted to say first of all, thank you for your program and your ministry. It’s always informative and netifying. I have a couple of questions for you please. My wife and I were attempting to, we had some fellowship with some old acquaintances and we had come out of the crazy manic, I mean, the charismatic movement and I was referencing to them because I know this person was reading a lot of his books and I had come through my research to find that most of there are so many aberrant teachings.

Well, anyway, let me try to get to my point. My first question is that the minister claimed in one of his booklets and his testimony that he died and went to hell three times. But finally, he repented when he was in hell, came back to life and was born again. And I disputed that, teaching, saying that you’re saying that a person can die and go to hell and still be born again, that doesn’t sit biblically. And that testimony can’t be true because it’s appointed under men once to die and then the judgment according to Hebrews 9, 27.

and they disputed with me, well what about Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead? Did he die a second time? And so if you could elaborate on that I would really appreciate it and I do have another question if you have time. Okay, well you know obviously Lazarus was quite the exception and God of course can back to dead, but he’s the only one that can. In Revelation 1, 18 and… A Revelation chapter 1, Christ has the keys to death and the Hades.

Death refers to the body, and Hades refers to the place of the departed soul. Now Hades at one time prior to the cross was where all the dead went, saved and lost. There were two places there in the heart of the earth, a place of comfort called paradise, and a place of torment called a place of torment I guess. lost are still there and they can’t come back. We know that Luke 16 pulls back the curtain on the unseen world and we have two men that die, one is a beggar named Lazarus and we have also a rich man who dies and the rich man is an unbeliever and he’s in flame and torment and he would have liked to have gotten out of there.

He asked for just a drop of water to cool his tongue and he couldn’t even get that. And then of course we have Lancer at the beggar with Abraham and all the other Old Testament saints on the other side of an impassable gulf where they couldn’t travel from one side to the other. And when Abraham told the rich man he was not going to get out of there, he was concerned about his brothers back upon the earth that somebody would do it to them unless they also come to this place of torment.

So obviously he was stuck there and knew that. And we know that according to the Bible in Revelation 20, all those in the place of torment and Hades will be delivered up in all of them. Every one of them, without exception, will be cast into the lake of fire. It says in Revelation 20 that Hades delivered up the dead which were in it and they were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. There’s nobody who gets out of going to hell who dies without Christ.

If you’re an unbeliever, you’re already condemned, but if you die as an unbeliever, then you’re condemned forever. But if you trust Christ, the Bible says in John 3, 18, you’re not condemned, and you’re not condemned now, normally you ever be condemned. And John 5, 24 says if you believe on Christ, you not only receive eternal life, but you’ll never come into condemnation. So that’s impossible. I think you did a good job. Hebrews is not as great. you die, that’s it.

But there are exceptions. For example, there are people who have never died like Elijah was caught up to meet the Lord. And we find Enoch also was raptured up, and they never died. And there’s going to be a whole group of people that will never die. The rapture will be caught up and never experienced death at all. But God was giving us an illustration of his power there when he brought Lazarus back from the dead. And so I would have to say he was the exception to the rule.

But if this man claimed he went to hell, then he couldn’t come back. And obviously that’s false teaching. And you can’t make your choice after you die. You have to make it while you’re living. I don’t know. But these people seem to be very, very confused. Well, yes, sir, and I appreciate that. And I tried to tell them the same thing that what Jesus did with Lazarus was, he demonstrated his deity by having the power to raise the dead.

And that was a miracle that he performed, but a person who says, and I don’t mind saying it on the air, I hope you don’t mind, it’s Kenneth Hagin, the one that has that testimony. He has passed away now, but anyway, thank you for that. I think I gave them the right answer, but they were scratching their heads. I have one more question if you don’t mind, and then I’ll hang up and listen, okay? Okay. Concerning 1 Timothy, chapter 2, verses 9 through 12, and I know that we always have to try and interpret the Scriptures in its plainest sense, if it makes sense.

But in those verses, of course, at the end of that, in verse 12, it says that women are not to teach, not to teach and they’re not to have authority over the man, they’re being silenced. But prior to that, it says, it talks about, you know, that women should adore modestly, no braided or broided hair, no gold, no pearls, but with good works. I take that to mean that one should be known by their good works and their lifestyle as they walk with Christ and not be too, the word is escaping me, but too elaborate, I guess, in their dress, but with good works and their learning subjections.

But when you take things in their plain of sense and you look at those verses and it says you can’t have broidered hair or gold or pearls, but then we also, we take literally verse 12 that says they’re not to teach, can you help me balance that a little bit please? I think you’re exactly right and then let me just point out another passage in Peter where Peter says who’s adorning Let it not be the outward adorning of the plating of the hair or the wearing of gold or the putting on of apparel and If you took that literally that last phrase or the putting on of apparel you’d have to be a nudist He’s not talking about being a nudist here.

He’s talking about being modest because he’s talking about that is the inner man the new man the new birth that should become visible and that of a a meek and quiet spirit and so on and one who loves the Lord. But we shouldn’t, you know, it’s just like a prostitute. They dress in a way that they’re recognized to be a prostitute. And the Bible is really saying here, don’t dress in a way to attract or to put on a front that isn’t the one that you really ought to be displaying.

You ought to be displaying that inner man, that inner person, that new birth, and be an example for Christ. It’s obviously not talking about that you can’t do your hair up or you can’t wear makeup or you can’t dress up nicely. It’s saying that you ought to make sure that what’s really seen is the real you but not that you should neglect yourself or not put on makeup. But if you say that you can’t even put on apparel, that would mean you’d have to be to certainly that’s not the meaning of the verse.

Thanks Ben for the question. We have, of course, just before the break we had Tony calling in from Plant City and he was asking about the passage in Luke. I want to go to the one in Matthew and there the rich young ruler was asking what should I do that I may inherit eternal life. And of course he’s He’s all thinking about works there, but in verse 26, Christ is with men, this is impossible. There’s nobody who could ever be saved by their works, but with God, all things are possible.

The law demands righteousness, and we’re not able by our works to ever attain that. That’s impossible with men. But yet at the same time when you trust Christ, the very righteousness of God is credited to your account and you become righteous in God’s sight. And so God declares the believer righteous as righteous as God, which is quite a remarkable thing. And that’s really what it’s talking about there. In the first Corinthians 15 and 2 it talks about, and the word if is used.

And there are a number of times there, but you’ll find that it’s used and that seems to make salvation conditional. But what is conditioned upon is the fact that Christ rose from the dead. What is in dispute here in 1 Corinthians 15 is the resurrection. And Paul says a few verses later, if Christ is not risen, then there is no resurrection. And if there is no resurrection, then your faith is in vain. Now that’s really what’s in mine here in verse 2 where it says, by which also you are saved if you keep in memory what I preached unto you unless you have believed in vain.

Later that’s to find a few verses later that if Christ didn’t come back from the dead, then your faith was vain because we really have no Savior at all. Tony’s third question was on 1 John 3 and I’m going to turn there and see what these verses are all about. John is really a wonderful book that talks about life within the family of God. Once you become born again, and he uses that phrase numerous times in this wonderful chapter, he’s talking about how we ought to live after we’re saved.

In the says in verse 14, we know that we have passed from death in the life because we love the brethren. This is the self-evidence. You know, I love people today that I would never have loved prior to my salvation. I care about people that I never would have cared about prior to my salvation. And that’s a self-evidence to me that, wow, something has taken place here. And I have been born again. And that’s what I think he’s talking about in these verses, that we can look at ourselves and say, wow, there’s a love in me, there’s a compassion in me that I didn’t have prior to my salvation.

And it’s a self-evidence. We can’t use it the other way and say if you don’t have that compassion or love that you’re not saved. But it’s saying here that if you are experiencing that, that you can know that truly the Lord is going to work in you. And of course I love Philippians 1.6, which has begun to work in you, will continue it until you’re actually in heaven. So you’ll never be lost and you can never lose your salvation.

that once he begins… That work of salvation in you he concludes it when we step off on heaven shore and we’re saved eternally with him. Tim and Sarasota calls in with this offer question and by the way the phone number here is 1-800-576-3771. But Tim calls in from Sarasota and he says please explain 1st Corinthians 1552 the last trump. There is so much wrong teaching about this last Trump. Many people go to the book of Revelation. They read about the seven seal judgments, the seven trumpet judgments, and they say that the rapture can happen till the last Trump.

And that would be after the seventh trumpet or when the seventh trumpet sounds. And of course that’s the end of the tribulation. So they become post-tribulational rapture, which is a wrong position, and it’s not talking about the trumpets in the book of Revelation. It’s simply, I believe, an expression from the Old Testament that when Israel was in the wilderness, they were led through the wilderness by the Lord by a cloud during the day or by a pillar fire at night.

And when the cloud lifted up and it was time to move again, they would blast a trumpet that kind of meant It meant pack your bags. We’re getting ready to move and then there was a last Trump that they would sound and that was the Trump that they marched out on so you got warning that the Ward was gonna move the children of Israel and they packed their bags and packed up their tents and got their animals loaded up And we’re ready to go and the last Trump was really the Trump that you move out on and so it’s a basically expression That means when that Trump, which is considered the last Trump sounds, out we go, has nothing to do with the seven trumpets of Revelation.

All fear, Stephen Saracitokal says, can you give a reference on dinosaurs in Scripture? And I believe that the dinosaurs were destroyed in Genesis 1-2 when God destroyed all life on the planet. And the planet was flooded. I believe there are two floods. 2 Peter talks about the same thing, and it’s not the flood of Noah that he’s talking about. And so, God after the flood of Noah said he would never again flood the earth and destroy all life on the planet by a flood.

The next time God will destroy the earth by fire, and that will be after the thousand year reign of Christ. But I believe that the dinosaurs were killed in the judgment upon the earth when Satan rebelled and tried to take a host of angels, a third of them, to heaven to overthrow God. And God judged the earth and judged the angels with Satan. Here’s an interesting verse for you. And it’s in the little teeny book of Jude. It says in verse 6, and the angels which kept out their first estate.

Their first piece of real estate was the planet earth. The Bible is very clear that all of the angels lived on the original earth created in Genesis 1-1. And it says they kept not their first estate but left the place of their habitation. Their habitation was here on the planet. And it says these are the ones that followed Satan obviously and were cast back down on the earth and were judged and the earth was judged and the dinosaurs and all life on the planet was extinguished.

Over the recently, about 6,000 years ago, we believe in seven days God made the earth inhabitable again, but we still have the evidences of the previous life in all of the fossils that we have. Coal is fossilized plant life. Petroleum is fossilized animal life. It’s trapped all over the world. especially you see it in the Middle East. Under all those acres, I mean miles and miles of desert land. Who would have ever thought that you’d have all that amylife trapped in pockets underneath it, which is the richest oil deposits probably in the world right there in the Middle East.

So I hope that helps answer it a little bit. You can call back if I didn’t hit the nail in the head. but thank you, Steve, and Sarasota from Calling In. We have James in Tampa, Florida, calling in, and he leaves an unfair question. He says, I was reading Kings and God said to Solomon to keep the commands and statutes of God so that he might be blessed, just like his father, David, kept them. And can you explain why God said that?

David really did a pretty good job of doing that. But David, of course, sin, he killed Uriah and married Vasiva, committed adultery with Vasiva. And God chased him for that. But otherwise, David really did love the Lord and his heart. David was a man after God’s own heart. He really was a man who loved the Lord. He did fall. He did sin. And the Lord of course chased him for that. If you read the 51st Psalm David confesses his sin and talks about how the Lord had judged him.

had judged him. And he said in that Psalm, restoring to me the joy of my salvation. He never lost his salvation, but he did lose the joy of that salvation and a powerful, powerful passage. Thank you, James, for calling in anonymous in Tampa. Please answer this question off air you quoted Leviticus 28 for the reason not to get tattoos. My daughter says many Christian friends have tattoos and since I’ve pierced my ears on my hypocrite for saying tattoos are wrong how could you respond?

Sometimes obviously people have already gotten their tattoos or their body piercings and that’s kind of late. I try to warn people in advance so that you don’t get it done if you haven’t done it already. The peer pressure today is great to get body piercings and tattoos. Leviticus tells us we are not to print marks on our body nor are we to do any cuttings in our body. It is kind of like graffiti. It is ugly. God says I created your body and I do not want you to print marks on it and put graffiti on your body.

I do not want you to do body piercings and cuttings in your body. It is not being a hypocrite is really being honest and straightforward to say look I did this prior to knowing about it and if I had it all over if I had to make the decision all over again I wouldn’t do it now and so I think you just have to say that because there are people who have tattoos and they’re gonna have to live with them it’s very difficult to get them removed and they’re just gonna live with them till they die and we have to say to those that haven’t gotten their tattoos.

Don’t make the mistake I did in getting a tattoo. I don’t have anybody tattoos and I don’t have any body piercings. But I believe in mourning, especially our younger generation. Don’t do that. God doesn’t want you to and it’s his rules, not ours, that we’re talking about here. Pamela in Rossville, Georgia calls him, leaves this off their question. Many churches here preach works and tons. They say you can lose your salvation. Since hearing you, I have read my Bible more and more and realized that I wasn’t saved.

But God did save me and he did it through you and Bible and. Oh God bless you Pamela. What a wonderful thing to hear. So that really wasn’t a question. That was a testimonial. Pamela, thank you for telling us how you got saved by listening to Bible and That’s wonderful. And it’s true. A lot of these folks don’t even realize they’re not saved. They think they’re Christians and talk like they’re Christians, but they’re not. Patty in Tampa, Forty calls in all fairness.

I heard in the Bible that it’s written, if you’re saved, so your house will be saved also. Please elaborate. That’s in Acts 1631. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and they’ll show up to be saved and thy house. If you read the context, it means that the people in your house also believe they will also be saved just as your saved when you place your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom and we’re going to have to wind it up for today, but we’ll be back tomorrow.

And we hope that you’ll join us then. Also, we hope that everyone listening has trusted Christ. You’re not going to be saved by your works. You have to be saved by Christ and Christ alone. So, to be saved… Like the hymn writer said, just as I am I come, without one plea, but that thy blood was shed for me. When you trust in the total finished work of Christ that the cross, he saves you. And then of course we have a sicket choice to me.

To live for Christ after we are saved, and God will bless us for our faithful service, and will reward us in heaven according to what we have done. But salvation is a gift and that’s based upon what Christ has done for us at the cross. Bibleline of course is coming to you every day and we want to thank all of you who pray for and give to Bibleline. Again, the summer months are the lean months when all ministries suffer a decrease in giving.

Bibleline is no exception. We need your help through the summer. Could you give us a gift? And we’re not asking for ourselves. We’re asking for the ministry to go forward and people to be saved. And we don’t pay any salary. So I don’t get a salary. Nobody gets a salary here from my blinds. All the money really goes to stretch us out as far as we can get. And I was going to read a letter here from Kenya, Africa.

Today we don’t have to read it tomorrow, but we have people from all over the world that are responding to Bibleline. And it’s because of your prayers and your gifts. Would you call in and leave a gift by credit card or would you call in math for an envelope to be sent so you can give a gift to Bibleline? That would be great. Got a run, but we’ll be back tomorrow. Tell your friends about the program and tell them about the internet, how they can catch it.
