Well we’re going to get into our Bibles and I hope you have your Bible handy. And then if you’d like to call in with a question you can leave it off here or be up on the air with us all you have to do is call that 800 number 1-800-576-3771. You know there is a difference between the Rapture and the Second Coming.
These are totally two different events. the rapture, all believers are caught up to meet the Lord in the air. At the second coming, there is no rapture. There is no rapture. We find Christ comes all the way back to the Earth and that’s a big difference. At the Rapture Believers Only The raptured saints go right to heaven. But at the Second Coming, the Second Coming affects all men, saved and lost. The lost will be killed and the saved will be left to live into the Millennium.
For the raptured saints go right to heaven. But at the Second Coming, the raptured saints return back to the earth. We’re going to come back with Christ. You know one of the distinctions between the Rapture and the Second Coming is that the Rapture Christ comes for his Saints F.O.R. and that the Second Coming comes with W.I.T.H. His Saints. So he comes for us at the Rapture and comes back with us at the Second Coming. At the Rapture we are going to go to heaven as believers, but at the Second Coming unbelievers are killed.
But at the rapture nobody is killed, nobody is going to be slaughtered, but yet all unbelievers will be killed or slaughtered at the second coming. We know that at the rapture unbelievers are left behind to enter the tribulation, and at the millennium it’s believers who are left behind to enter into the millennium. At the Rapture, the Earth is not judged, but at the Second Coming, the Bible says in Revelation 19 that the Earth is judged, and righteousness is established, a Kingdom of a thousand years of Christ ruling on this Earth.
Then we find at the Rapture that the believers will be the only ones to see it happen, whereas at the Second Coming every eye will see him and it’s coming. It will be visible, but it’s invisible. Nobody will know that the Rapture is even happened except that we will have disappeared because there is a tremendous difference. We find that the Rapture is not in the Old Testament, but yet the Second Coming is predicted throughout the Old Testament. The first promise of the Second Coming is only back in Genesis 3.15.
That’s quite remarkable, isn’t it? We find that the Rapture occurs before the Day of Wrath, 1st Thessalonians 5, but we We find that the second coming comes at the end of the day of wrath. Interesting, isn’t it? That there are these tremendous differences. And we find that the rapture, there’s no reference to Satan at all. But yet at the second coming we have Satan bound at the second coming. And we could go on and on and on, but there are a tremendous number of differences between the rapture and the second coming.
All of this goes back to being able to rightly divide the word of truth. And it takes study to do that. It says in 2 Timothy 2, 15, study to show thyself approved unto God as a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. So in other words, when you study the Bible, we study it with the intent not to become a bookworm, but to be a workman that doesn’t have to be ashamed because we didn’t do the work the way the Bible told us to do it, but that we rightly divide the word of truth.
We set the truth of God’s Word in right order. For a brief summary of the timeline, the Rapture is the next event on God’s program. That’s when all believers everywhere on the planet will simply be caught up to meet the Lord at the air. That will conclude the present age in which we are living, which is called the church age, and then the seven years of tribulation will be underway. It will be the darkest hours of human history. During the first three and a half years there will be relative peace on the earth, and it will be a counterfeit peace because it really is not going to last.
Not only meant for three and a half years, the Antichrist will rise to power. He will be a terrible dictator who will obviously make Hitler and others look like good guys. And in the middle of the tribulation period, the Antichrist actually winds up controlling all of the West. the United States and the Americas, Europe, and also the core countries of the Middle East. The Antichrist, according to Daniel, will put his palace in Jerusalem, and he will rule the world from Jerusalem.
As he will be the counterfeit Christ as Christ will rule the world from Jerusalem so the Antichrist will for the next three and a half years for the last three and a half years of the tribulation. When he makes that move and has control of the West, he will then cause people to receive his mark. Without that mark, you will not be able to buy or sell. Boy, they’re talking now, aren’t they, about putting a chip in everybody? Have you been reading that?
And everybody’s going to be chipped. They’ll be able to have total control. The government will know every move you make. It’s kind of scary because those chips will contain information about your medical history, your military history, your financial history. All of your financial dealings will be controlled by that chip. It is going to be a total control situation. According to the Bible, you will not be able to buy or sell without that mark. And so scary, scary, we are living very close because we have the technology right now here available for that to take place.
So we’re getting close. So the mark will be instituted in the middle of the tribulation period. And then the enterprise has control during those last three and a half years. And then at the end of the seven years we have the world coming together in war. All the major players, China, Russia, are the West. And we find that there will be a nuclear exchange that the Bible says will take a third of all the lives of all the people on the planet Earth.
And the war will be over in one hour. Revelation chapter 18, three times tells us it will be over in one hour. We don’t laugh at it. We know that if we were to launch missiles against Russia, they would be there in 30 minutes. If Russia were to launch missiles against us or China, they would hit us in 30 minutes. If everybody launched their missiles at one time, the whole war would be over in less than one hour. Boy, is the Bible right on.
Amazing, huh? And so we are living very close. And then Jesus comes back at the Battle of Armageddon. He defeats the nations of this world and takes over. And the earth then will be under his rule and there will be peace on earth. Good will toward men from that point on. Isn’t that exciting? And so the second coming is going to be seven years after the Rapture, seven years after the Rapture. And I’m going to be in that event and so will you if you’re a believer.
First Thessalonians 4, 14 says, if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even to them Also, it’s sleep in Jesus. Will God bring with him? In other words, the ones that have already died are with the Lord. And when he comes back, he’ll bring their souls with him. They’ll get their new bodies at this event. And we, which are alive, are going to be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. But the key is to believe the gospel message.
The death, the barrel, the resurrection of Christ. When you trust Christ as Savior, you become saved. Amazing today, the preaching seems to avoid the gospel. It really is more about what you’re going to do and seldom mentions what Christ has already done. Jesus totally paid your sin debt by His death and shed blood. When you trust Him, God saves you. Alright, we’ve got a lot of listeners ready to go up on the line here. to start taking them with phone numbers 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771.
Alright, we’re going to now go to Dina in Tampa, Florida and Dina, welcome to Bible and you’re on the earth. Yes, my name is Dina and I had one to know a question about, can you give me some information about the Judas? Did he go to hell for betraying Jesus? Okay, the answer is no, he did not go to hell because he betrayed Jesus. He went to hell, but he went to hell because he was never a believer. Several verses, but John 664, Jesus said he knew from the beginning who they were that believed not and who should betray him.
He was referring to Judas as being one of the disciples, but yet not a believer. So he didn’t go to hell because he betrayed Christ. He didn’t go to hell because he committed suicide in regret later, but he went to hell because he never ever trusted Christ of Savior. John 664. John 663 was the first one? No. John 664. Sixty-four. Sixty-four. Thank you. Thank you. All right. That was Deena in Tampa and Jude is one. Hell he was never believer.
We have ash in Clearwater Florida ash. Welcome to Bible Life. Yes. Good. You’re on here. Great. I had a question about when God created the wine at the wedding. My mother seems to think that the wine was not actually wine that he created. I think there was a guy and Dr. Wilters and I was just wondering if it is literally taken in the Bible that he did create a wine that is an intoxicating wine or like a grape juice?
It was a real wine, no doubt about it, and the host of the event, or I forget let me just read the passage here in John too, you can read this whole thing, but he said that wow, At the end, I saved the best wine for the end. Well, of course, that was the wine that Christ made. He said, basically, generally, that people would give the best wine at the beginning and then as people began to drink, they’d bring out the wine that wasn’t so good, nobody would know the difference.
So I believe it was genuine wine, but I don’t think the wines of those days or the wine that Christ created was of the alcohol content that you buy today as the breweries today, Jack that alcohol content up significantly. But it truly was wine, and it says here in John 2 that when the rule of the feast had tasted the water that had been made wine and knew not whence it was, but the servants which drew that water knew, the governor of that feast called the bridegroom, and he said to him, every man at the beginning to set forth good wine and when men have well drunk then that which is worse is uh…
brought out and i was kept the good wine until now so obviously this is pretty good stuff the christmated they drank it uh… toward the end of the festivities when you’re running out price turned that water one thank you so much that i have one more question if i could ask you i’m sure go ahead also she also would like to read quaran for educational purpose if you think that that is going against the will of god or do you think that the uh…
i believe that the only doctrine that we need is the bible she think she is reading for educational purpose and i just want to review on that well the quaran is obviously uh… probably demonic in origin and uh… certainly uh… uh… mohammed up plagiarized from the old and new testaments as well as the many other things that he made up. It’s got lots of contradictions in it. We have a little booklet here about 70 pages called The Facts on Islam.
It is excellent and shows you the cracks in the armor of someone who’s of the Islamic faith so that you can win the Christ. They say that the Bible is corrupted, but the Bible is not corrupted and we can demonstrate the accuracy of the Bible. …” We believe it is infallible. We believe it is infallible. You cannot find contradictions or error in the Bible. You can see glaring contradictions in the Corinne. The Corinne teaches in one place that God created the Earth in six days.
In another place that says he created the Earth in eight days. There are many examples of contradictions like that that are pretty blatant. You might want to get something like that, but I don’t recommend people unless they’re using it to become familiar so they can win people of Islam to Christ that they read the Quran. The people of Islam are moon worshipers. You know, Allah is the moon god. It’s very easy to see the connection when you see any prayer minaret here we live in Tampa, Florida, and the University of Tampa was built with that theme of a lot of Islamic prayer of interrets.
And at the top, there is that crescent moon. And the crescent moon, of course, is the one that you’re praying to. So as you pray upward at the top is the crescent moon. That’s all of the moon God. Obviously, they’re doing exactly what the Bible said not to do. We’re not to worship the sun, the moon, the stars. That was from the very beginning pages of the Bible, and yet Islam is all about worshiping the moon and the moon God Allah.
Thank you so much, man. You’ve been a great help and I love your show. Thanks an awful lot. That was nice to hear from you, Ash, in Clearwater, Florida. We now have Lisa in St. Petersburg and Lisa, welcome to the Bible and you’re on the air. Hi, my name is Lisa from St. Petersburg. Okay. I have a question. Okay, I’m studying the Bible to help his witnesses. Well, you don’t want to do that because everyone leads you astray. Because what I understand is that they’ll be a paradise to perish.
And they’re showing me in their Bible where it says that. Well, it talks about in Revelation 21 and 22 about how the paradise is actually the new Jerusalem. And that’s where we’re going to live. It will not be on the new earth. And the Joel’s Witnesses try to teach that they are going to be on the new earth. But let me just say that Joel’s Witnesses aren’t going to heaven nor are they going to the new earth earth because they deny the deity of Jesus Christ.
It says in 1 John chapter 2, and this is a great verse to look at and take a look at, but it says in 1 John 2 in verse 23, and let me just read it here so I get it exactly as it is in the Bible, 1 John chapter 2, and This is verse 23, it says, whosoever denyeth the son the same hath not the Father. If we just stop right there for a moment, that means the Jehovah’s Witnesses, because they deny the son, don’t have Jehovah, so they’re Jehovahless.
They are Jehovah’s Witnesses without Jehovah. Also, if you go to 2nd John, it tells us here, just a little bit to the right, whosoever transgressive which is everyone and abide if not in the doctrine of Christ has not God. So the Joel’s witnesses are godless. They’re godless and priceless and and Jehovahless. And they’re not going to go to heaven. They’re not going to go to the new earth. And it’s easier to characterize the Joel’s witnesses by what they don’t believe rather than what they do believe in.
They don’t believe in celebrating birthdays. They don’t believe in fighting in our military. They don’t believe in the legions to the flag of the country. They don’t believe in blood transfusions. They don’t believe in the deity of Christ. They don’t believe in the Trinity. They don’t believe in salvation by faith. They don’t believe in the resurrection of Christ. And we can go on and on and on. And about everything the Bible teaches they deny. And it’s a very subtle thing because they really don’t know their Bible.
And you You really ought not to study with them. Oh, okay. No, I appreciate that. Thank you very much. All right. You’re very welcome. And you know, they try to appear to be Christian and they really are not Christian at all. Jehovah’s Witnesses are Jehovahless. And Jehovah’s Witnesses are godless. If you deny the doctrine of Christ that Christ has God and took on flesh, the Bible in 2nd John verse 9, you don’t have God. And I feel sorry for them, and they truly are lost, and they don’t even realize it.
But they are trying to work their way into the new earth, and they’re not going to be on the new earth, but they’re going to be in a place that they deny exists. They deny hell, but hell is the place where all the Joe’s witnesses will go. I’ve tried, and I’ve led many Joe’s witnesses to Christ, but they They are very, very pretty much kept by the peer pressure of the movement. They don’t hardly escape that once they get in it.
You don’t want to get caught in a group like that. You’ll probably never get out of it. All right. We now have Shirley, and Shirley is in Lakeland, Florida, and Shirley, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Shirley, you’re on the air. Yes. I wanted to ask a question. I heard preachers say that the anointing other men to them? Well guess what? They’re wrong. That’s what I thought because like in Isaiah 61 1 and 2 Corinthians 121, I found, you know, he which anointed us is God.
Of course, and every believer has received the anointing and the anointing is actually the Holy Spirit. If you go to 1 John, it tells us in verse 20, you have received an unction. The word unction really means anointing. You have received an anointing from the Holy One. The Holy One is Jesus. And then he goes on down and says in verse 27 of 1 John 2, the anointing which you have received of him abided in you. And so that is the Holy Spirit and He dwells in you.
And so Christ is the word Christ and the word Messiah mean anointed one. And Christ was one who received the Holy Spirit at the baptism where John the Baptist baptized him and the Holy Spirit empowered him for service. And every believer also receives this anointing or the Holy Spirit to involve him. But these people try to basically try to imply that they have something that you don’t have and that they’re better than you are and every believer has the anointing.
If you’re a believer, you’re saved and you have the Holy Spirit, every believer has that. Thank you very much. Thank you Shirley. Good question and I know sometimes it’s kind of intimidating because they come at you and say have you received the anointing and make you feel like ooh you’re missing something. I have the anointing and every believer does so I’m not any more special than you are. We all have it if you’re a believer you have an anointing.
Well we have a lot of questions here we have to deal with and we’re going to catch those in the second half hour. If you haven’t trusted Christ, this is a good time to do that. Just tell the Lord right now, Lord I am a sinner. But I trust right now Jesus Christ as the one who paid for my sins in full by his death and shed bud was buried and rose again from the dead. The moment you do that, God, if heaven saves you and you become saved eternally.
It’s the best news you’re ever going to hear and I hope you would trust the Lord. Don’t forget our TV programs are on tonight at 6.30 and 7 on Direct TV, Channel 321 at 6.30 and then again at 7 all over the West Coast of Florida here. I’m Dr. England Sherman. It’s great to be with you. Thanks for tuning in. It’s Thursday tonight is our television night. And at 6.30 Eastern Standard Time, we’re going to be all over the nation on DirecTV channel 321 World Harvest Television.

And also, don’t forget you can go to the Internet, catch our radio programs, our television programs, and also our worship services. Sunday’s worship service is past Sunday. It’s there sitting right now. You can watch it. And a lot of people enjoy those, and they’re watching from all over the world. We had a report this morning of someone who was attempting to watch, apparently, in Germany just this past weekend.
So it’s exciting. People are able to watch Bibleline. We had one of course from just north of New Zealand in an island group there. We have people from all over the world. 150 countries have logged in including some of the Palestinian territory. People are finding us and we’re hoping that we’re reaching a lot of them. We just had a fellow that got back from Japan. It’s a Bibleline student and listener, and he said he has so greatly benefited by listening to Bibleline.
When he got over there, there were 20 missionaries. They were all told that it would take three to five years to lead someone in Japan to Christ. They were in Tokyo. And you know, he said, I learned from you, Dr. Lindstrom, that the gospel is powerful and that it is simple. So he just went out witnessing. He led three to Christ in just the first two weeks. All the other missionaries said, we weren’t told that was possible. This just seemed right.
But you know, it’s amazing how the devil will shut us down. And we don’t have much boldness sometimes because we think it’s going to take forever to lead someone to Christ. It doesn’t. And here was a fellow that actually got all those missionaries leading people to Christ and they had great results. He said it was all a result of Bible and in that great, maybe you’d like to help by We certainly could use your financial help. We’re trying to come through the summer crunch and you could give a gift card over the phone or also you could send a gift by mail call and ask for an envelope to be sent with our address on it.
Or just copy that address down. I think we’re going to repeat it here somewhere in the program. But it’s Bibleline 4811 George Road Bibleline 4811 George Road Tampa, Florida. Florida. The zip is 3-3-6-3-4- Callen. Our produce can see that real slow for you so you can copy it down. We’re going to return to The stations have been on break into the second half, so stay right where you are as…
Would you like to call, and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800- 576- 371 That’s 1-800- 576- 3771 Now here again is Dr. Lindstrom All right, we’re back for that break and it’s wonderful to be with you. We had a Reverend from Jacksonville. But apparently. apparently couldn’t hold and dropped off. If you want to call back, we’ll try to get you right back at the top of the list here. So give us a call from Jacksonville.
We have Mac in Pace, Florida, and Mac, welcome to Byblind. You are on the air, and thanks for calling into Byblind. Thank you, Dr. Langstrom. I would like you to turn to 1st Samuel, chapter 1. All right. And the reason I’m calling is because I used to listen to this, that this one, he’s, I didn’t listen to him for very long because the guy turned out to be very knowledgeable. But he was reinterpreting the word temple. He does not believe that the Israelites, the Jews are going to build, you know, worship in a temple during the tribulation.
He went to his Hebrew text and he, you know, but anyway, I decided there’s something call it the law of first mentioned, the very first time something is mentioned in the Bible is pretty much a part of the Bible. It establishes, okay, 1 Samuel 1 verse 9. If you would read that, please. Yeah, it says here that Hannah rose up after they had eaten in Shiloh and after they had drunk. Now Eli, the priest sat down upon a seat by a post of the temple of the Lord.
Well, I thought that the temple wasn’t built until King Solomon. Now, is it possible that the tabernacle, which was a huge tent, could that also have been referred to as the temple? What’s going on? I think it must have been because the tabernacle was the pattern. Of course, later when God established Jerusalem as the site, then they built the temple there. as all the temple is the first temple but uh… before that they have the tent they have the uh…
tabernacle okay so uh… but anyway that shows me that according to the the bible a temple is an as an actual building where word the lord is worshiped anyway that i stop listening that guy because he was just well he i even sent him a little booklet he he believed that uh… New Testament believers are supposed to keep the Old Testament Sabbath. And I showed him, sent him a little booklet, you know, showing that clearly that the Sabbath is a sign, and signs are for his Jews, and he was scriptural.
And he sent me a letter back telling me not to read out the book list, but listen to him because, well, I said, well, this guy’s just, he’s not worth listening to. He leaves his opinion. He valued his opinion of what the Bible actually said, so I don’t listen to him anymore. Well, I recommend Haggai chapter 2. There you have, and there are several chapters like this, where you have all three temples, the temple of Solomon, then the temple that was built when they came back from the Babylonian captivity, and then it anticipates the third temple, and obviously during the millennium, Christ will of course rule the world from the temple, but that temple will have been built right after the rapture I believe and be desecrated by the Antichrist during the tribulation period purified by Christ.
Then of course then his restoration will make it the most beautiful and glorious of all the temples that preceded it. Definitely Christ will come back to a temple. Malachi chapter 3 says he will come back suddenly to his temple. So for Christ to return at the Second Coming, it’s absolutely imperative that a temple be standing. And so we believe that temple will be built after the Rapture during the Tribulation and Christ will come back to it and cleanse it Malachi 3-1.
Okay, well, thank you, sir. Okay, Mac, where’s Paysforna? Say what? Where’s Paysforna? Oh, it’s about 18 miles from downtown Pensacola along Highway 90. Okay, well you helped clarify that for me. Thanks a lot. Yes, sir. Alright, so thank you for calling up there in the panhandle of Florida. We have Mary in Palm Harbor and Mary, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes, good morning. I’m calling about Genesis chapter 1 verse 5. And in there, I’m getting a little confused because it said, and God called the light day, which is a capital D, and the darkness he called night, which is a capital N.
And the evening, let me see, and the morning was the first day. Now, the capitals in the Bible always mean something significant. Am I correct? Not really because there is no capitalization in the Hebrew or the Greek here. This is simply the discretion of the translators and I wouldn’t put a lot of focus on that. But obviously there had been light from the very beginning when God created the universe but that light was was blocked off from the earth according to Genesis 1 2 because of the judgment that occurred.
And when God made the earth inhabitable again in seven days of what I call a re-creative week, he now clears the cloud cover so that light can shine upon the earth again. So when he said, let there be light, it wasn’t a creation of light, but it was the allowing of light to shine again upon the earth. The earth was in darkness and it was flooded and it wasn’t until the third day that dry land appeared in the re-creative week.
And then of course on the sixth day God created man and man was placed in charge over the earth. Whereas earlier we believe Lucifer was in charge of the earth over all of God’s angels and he led a rebellion that caused the third of the angels to fall along with himself and God judge the earth and the condition of jesus one to his result i believe of that judgment hope that helps a little bit well yes it does so then the capital d in in our first five for day and i have nothing to do with jesus or uh…
no i would just ignore that all right all thank you so much ever wonderful that and it’s actually uh… the uh… light period in the dark period The darkness he told night and that’s a twelve hour period from sundown to sun up and then the daylight period from sun up to sundown and that constituted one day so it says the evening in the morning with the first day the evening in the morning with the second day and so on so these were really twenty four hour days here in uh…
genesis and the length of time is designated by the uh… Period of darkness and period of light. We’re now going to go to Donna in St. Petersburg and Donna welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hi Donna That kind of two questions one question is one is the Rapture what Jewish holiday? You think it might be on and one is that holiday coming up either September or October Are you ready?
Usually, things get messed up in the Bible, it’s usually by a woman, Eve and Sarah with Abraham. By any chance could be a woman that’s going to be an antichrist? It’s an interesting speculation, but I don’t think so because as Christ was a man, I think an antichrist will also be a man. But the Feast of Trumpets is what you’re talking about. There are seven feast days all given to us in one chapter, Leviticus 23 in the Old Testament you have been summarized, and they’re all a prophetic picture of Christ’s first and second coming.
The first four were fulfilled literally on the day and had to do with first coming events. Christ died as the Passover lamb on the Feast of Passover, buried during the Feast of Unleavened Bread, raised from the dead on the Feast of First Fruit’s Day, and this present age began at Pentecost when the Holy Spirit came. So the next feast and the last three are in the fall constitute the The second coming event, I believe as Pentecost began this age, the Feast of Trumpets, the next feast in line there, the fifth one, will be the closing of this age.
So I believe the Feast of Trumpets is the event of the Rapture. And then the Feast of Atonement follows, which is the tribulation period where Israel will be atoning for their sins. And then the last feast is the Millennium. the Feast of Tabernacles where Christ will actually dwell here in Tabernacle among us in a human body from the thousand year reign of Christ. Thank you very much, Dr. Lindstrom. All right. And by the way, it’s September 12th this year.
So you have less than a month. Thank you. Now I didn’t set the date. I hope you didn’t think that I did. But whatever your Christ comes, you’ll probably come on that day. We’re going to hope well, Virginia. And we have Jerome on the line and Jerome. Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes. Good morning, Dr. Hank. I just want to say a little way how you make the Bible that much more easier for us. I’m just paying.
But I have a question on when he was coming on earlier about Judas, I’m going to hell as an unbeliever. But he able to perform like, you know, cast out demons and stuff of that nature because I know he was the disciples and they did those things. Well apparently he may have because certainly Matthew 7 talks about people that are unsaved and they’ll stand before the Lord of the Great White Throne Judgment and they’ll say, Lord Lord, haven’t we preached in your name and healed in your name and done many wonderful works in your name.
So apparently, unsaved people can do some significant events or things or signs, but they’re not saved. But I don’t really know that Judas, nowhere in the scripture, doesn’t say he performed any miracles or cast out any demons. He was certainly loved with the rest, but he was never a believer. Wow, that is something. And we can be assured about salvation just by saying the tennis prayer and confessing Is that a question that Jesus is out saving and don’t have to fear any of those dreadful things or the dreadful things to come?
Absolutely not. Because once you cross Christ, Hebrews 13, 5, Christ promises I will never leave you. And I’ll never forsake you. And how can I be sure I’m not trusting in my works, Dr. Hank, other than just my total belief in Christ? It’s sort of like higher for me to draw the line over from work and to just something always in me tell me where you got to do good if you believe and got it trusting. Well once you can save your save forever no matter what you do but once you trust the Lord if you have truly trusted the Lord like we’re talking about where you’re not trusting in any works it’s just like the word means trust and just like I’m sitting in a chair right now and I’m actually reclining back a little bit.
This is quite dangerous if this chair were to collapse, but I’m trusting the chair to keep me safe from falling on the floor and injuring myself here today while I do the radio show. And I’m just resting my weight upon it. There’s no effort on my part and I’m just simply resting all my weight upon the chair. I have no connection with the floor except for one foot that’s touching it but I’m not resting much weight on the floor.
My body weight is really on this chair and if the chair fails I’m in trouble. But that’s basically what it is with Christ. When you just cut all ties and simply trust or rest in Christ as the one who will save you then you are saved and you’re saved forever. Okay, thank you Dr. Hank. So I can just rely in Jesus and what about that Sunday or one of what man said I had to do or a lifestyle or I mean certainly Christians I feel shouldn’t live a certain way but then.
There are consequences for those things because obviously if you don’t go to church on Sunday you probably lose out on the encouragement and the fellowship and the learning from God’s word that you can get if you’re going to a good church and also the loss of reward has God will report us for faithful service in heaven and if we do things that are wrong, God will chasten or discipline us, but it doesn’t affect your salvation. Once He saves you, He keeps you saved and you’re saved forever.
All right. Thank you, sir. Thank you, Jerome, in Hopewell, Virginia. We now have John in Brandon, Florida, and John, welcome to Bibleline your own ear. Hey, good morning, Dr. Hank, I need you and I ask that you elaborate as to what occurred prior to God creating heaven and earth and the war that Heavenly war that occurred. I would appreciate you can elaborate that now hang up and listen All right. Well, I don’t know if we got it really clear there, but prior to the creation There was no Time and there was no Space the four dimensions that you and I exist in are were created at the point of the creation of the universe and It says in verse one of Genesis in the beginning now in the beginning.
It says God God was already present before the beginning began. Is that making any sense? So before the beginning began, before God created the universe, there was no space and there was no time. So God is a multidimensional God and we believe He created the four dimensions that we are confined to, but He is not confined to those four dimensions. He lives outside of time and can intercept time and space at His pleasure whenever He wants to. We find that as time moved along with a perfect the perfect earth, according to Isaiah 45, 18, created at the very beginning, not created void.
It tells us in Isaiah 45, 18, that God created the earth, perfect and inhabited, and he did not create it vain, which in the Hebrew, the same word is translated void in Genesis 1, 2. So he didn’t create it void. The Bible tells us that in other places that Lucifer was in charge over the earth and all the angels lived on the planet earth and that Lucifer decided he would leave the earth, ascend above the clouds and beyond the stars to heaven itself and overthrow God and take over heaven.
Well, obviously he made a big mistake because God judged him and cast he and the third of the angels that followed him back to the earth and life on the planet died. That may have happened if we coincide with what NASA says to 65 million years ago when a big asteroid with about 150 mile diameter struck in the area of the Eucachan Peninsula. Well, the amount of debris that was cast up, according to scientists, shut out the sun’s light for millions of years, that would have caused the ice ages that we know happened.
And all of that was way back when. But then about 6,000 years ago, it says in the end of verse 2 of Genesis 1, the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. That word moved is a very interesting word. If you look it up in the Hebrew, it means to incubate or to brood upon. And basically what he did is just like a hen on the eggs. They keep the eggs warm and they hatch out. God apparently warmed up the earth or thawed it out from the ice ages.
And then in seven days, there was a re-making of the earth so it didn’t have it life again. When he created Adam, he said to Adam and Eve, he wanted them to be fruitful and to multiply, he says, and re-plunish the earth. Now he didn’t say, plunish the earth, but he said, re-plunish, and I believe that implies there was previous life, and it was the angelic life and the plants and animals and dinosaurs that were here prior to Adam and Eve ever being here.
And now because that life was destroyed, and now God is allowing life to be on the planet again, he tells Adam to re-clunish the earth. I wouldn’t make a big deal out of that except over in Genesis 9, we have after the flood, life had been destroyed in the flood, and here Noah is given the same command in the Hebrew. is told to be fruitful, multiply, and re-clunish the earth. Same phrase in the Hebrew as in the case with Adam.
So because he did it with Noah, and there we don’t know for sure there was life destroyed, and now he was to punish the earth again with life. He said that same command to Noah, to Adam rather, so I believe there was life prior to Adam. So basically the earth I believe is very old created when the universe was created and rather recently of course God re-established the earth for life and places man on the planet. I believe that was 6,000 years ago.
Alright well I hope that helps John and thank you for that call and if you have any further questions call back in and we’ll give it a shot. Thank you. I have a lot of offer questions. I’m going to try to take a few of these. And by the way, the phone number here, if you want to call it, is 1-800-576-3771. Jonathan in Amsterdam, New York says, offer, I have spent the last four or five years studying covenant theology.
I feel badly for you. Keeping the doctrine of election aside, would you please explain the main differences between covenant and dispensational theology? Well, Covenant theology divides the Bible into just two groups. The Old Testament, New Testament, the Covenant from Mount Sinai. The Bible is the first of all, and the covenant of grace. Obviously, that doesn’t really explain everything. In the Bible, there are distinct ages. First of all, if you go to Ephesians, it tells us there are three dispensations right up front.
There is in chapter 1, verse 10 and 11, the dispensation of the fullness of times. That’s the millennium. That’s when the things in heaven and things on earth are combined. with Christ and rule and reign over people that are still in their mortal bodies that are entering the tribulation period, entering the millennium from the tribulation period. There is a dispensation of grace, Ephesians 3-2, which is the age in which were presently living, beginning at Pentecost, ending at the Rapture.
Then there is the dispensation of law that preceded this present dispensation, and that began at Sinai and was postponed at the cross but the last seven years of the dispensation of law still have to tick off the clock according to Daniel 9 and the tribulation period is really the ending of the Old Testament age. We have as the church age been inserted into the age of law. So if I were to kind of give you a visual picture beginning at Sinai right up until the second coming, you have the Age of Law.
But what God did was he kind of put the Age of Law on pause, slipped us in a 2000 year age where God has turned to the Gentiles and once he completes us and we’re caught out at the Rapture, he will then remove the pause button and the last seven years of the Age of Law will tick off the clock. That’s That’s why in the tribulation period it’s all Jewish. The Jews are back in the land, they rebuild a temple, they’re offering blood sacrifices again, two Old Testament prophets, Moses and Elijah come on the scene and on and on we go.
The witnesses during that time will be Jewish, 144,000 witnessing Jews. All of this is Old Testament territory. And of course the Bible says in Ephesians chapter 3 that there are other ages or dispensations clearly there. But salvation has always been the same and covenant theology really messes up salvation as well. Salvation has never been by the law. Salvation has never been by works. Salvation has always been as a gift offered to man all that would trust Christ as Savior would receive the gift of everlasting life.
So Jonathan, I hope that helps a little bit. We have to move on here, but we’ll try to take it again if you call back and ask another question about it. Cindy in Clearwater calls in and says, I understand God, Constitution and Marriage, of one man and one woman. Why did God not rebuke the multiple wives that the patriarchs in the Old Testament had or did he? Can you give me scripture references? Well, they obviously all paid a price for that.
at the problems that Abraham got into. Oh my goodness, he had a child by a bond made from Egypt called Hagar and that hatred between Ishmael and Isaac has continued down to this very day. How Lindsey wrote a marvelous book, we have it and that’s one of the wonderful books in our resource center called Everlasting Hatred. That title comes right out of the Bible. But there was a hatred that is still going on today and explains what’s happening in the Middle East and in our world.
It goes all the way back to Abraham taking and having a child by Hagar. You see the strife in all of those families where there were multiple wise jealousies and fighting. It was not pleasant. The Bible of course is quite plain that they were not to take multiple wives. Let me give you a passage in Deuteronomy chapter 17 and then we’re going to be out of time today. But in Deuteronomy chapter 17 it tells us here that they were not to multiply wives to themselves.
Verse 17 says, neither shall he multiply wives to himself. So we’re only going to have one wife and there you have it in Deuteronomy 17. Check it out for yourself.
