We found that we met people from upper and lower Nigeria that actually told us they were listing the Bible and on the internet and watching our programs. It’s exciting and that is an incredible new source. We were just looking at some of the stats on the last day of June. We had 29,000 downloads of our radio show on that one day. The last day of June, that’s incredible. We have a lot of people listening every day on the internet, all around the world and around the country.
We have a lot of people downloading our programs for their iPod. We have the podcasting, so you can just set it up and it will automatically send those programs to your computer. You can download them into your iPod and carry the programs with you. Why not take advantage of that BibleLineMinistries.org or .com BibleLineMinistries.org or .com and click on the spinning globe for the radio, click on the TV set for the television programs, click on the camera for our worship services and that’s also where you’ll find our classes.
And by the way, if you see a black screen in the middle, that stays black all week except during the time of our morning worship service between 11 and 12 on Sunday. So if you go there on Sunday, that’ll light up and you’ll see clouds flowing by. And as soon as I begin the message a little after 11, the audio and the video will come up and you’ll be able to watch our worship service live. We’ll take our call shortly. If you want to call in the numbers 1-800-576-3771, that’s 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to talk a little bit about discipleship because there’s a lot of confusion between What is a disciple? What is not a disciple? And I find that most discipleship programs, the most books about discipleship, leave out the real focus of what discipleship is all about. So I want to take a few minutes and talk about that. What is a disciple? Here’s a definition that I have come up with.
A disciple is one who makes a conscious decision to follow Christ in pursuit of becoming a fisher of men. In the fourth chapter of the Gospel of John, as the Lord Jesus Christ was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Peter and Andrew. Peter and Andrew were already saved prior to this particular event, as related to us in John’s Gospel, chapter 1, where we see the salvation experience of Andrew and then Peter. Now Jesus invites these two saved men to enroll in his discipleship program.
He lets them know the goal or objective of discipleship is to be that of fishing for men. We cannot avoid this clear presentation of the pursuit of a disciple to be a fisher of men. I have read so many books and I have so many books and so many times soul winning or leading people to Christ is presented as an option, but it actually is the focus of the Christian life. Jesus said to Matthew 4 19 follow me and I’ll make you a great singer in my choir in the sky No, he didn’t say that he said follow me and I’ll make you a an usher in my church in the sky No, he didn’t say that either I could go on and on but you know you get the point here He said follow me and I’ll make you a fisher of men Now you may not be a fisher of men right now, but if you follow
Christ The pursuit, the focus, the direction, ought to be such that you would be able to lead someone to Christ. One of our listeners just got back from a missions trip in Japan. There he was with twenty other missionaries. Brian tells me that he was told while they were there that it would take three to five years to lead someone to Christ. You had to first build relationships and get to know them. And between three and five years it would take to lead someone to Christ.
Well listening to Bibleline, he said that he knew the gospel was powerful, it was the power of God and the salvation. And he also learned from Bibleline that the message is simple. It’s a simple message. In fact, Satan would use the simplicity of the gospel to prevent people from believing the Gospel. So he just witnessed and he said he led three to Christ in the first two weeks. Other missionaries were saying, we were never told that could happen. We never, this is not possible.
And you know, he got 20 missionaries with his defeatist attitude and mindset that they couldn’t possibly lead someone to Christ except maybe three to five years down the line to actually going out and leading people to Christ with the wonderful gospel. The gospel is the power of God and the salvation to everyone that believes it. When a person believes the gospel, they become saved. It’s not a complicated message. It’s the message of the death, the burial, the resurrection of Christ.
When a person puts their trust in Christ as the one who paid their sin, they became saved. He said obviously all these missionaries were amazed and they obviously admitted that they had been misled, that people can get saved in a much shorter period of time. Many times I’ve led someone to Christ in just a few minutes. I would imagine in the Japanese culture it might take a little bit longer, but he was leading people to Christ. Boom, boom, boom.
In a very short period of time this three to five years is craziness. Well, that’s what we ought to be learning how to do. And if you’re claiming that you’re a follower of Christ and you’re not attempting to lead people to Christ, let me just tell you something straight up. You are not following Christ Christ said, follow me and I will make you a fisher of men. If that’s not your goal, if that’s not your focus, if that’s not what you’re doing, whatever you’re doing, you’re not following Christ.
Not amazing and yet most churches talk about discipleship as Something else and that one of the options is that you might lead people to Christ But it’s not an option. It is the focus Christ again Let me say it in Matthew 4 19 says follow me and I will make you a fisher of men You might start off not knowing how to lead someone to Christ or you might not know how to carry that out, but as you begin to follow Christ in pursuit of becoming a fisher of men, you’ll be able to do that.
And you know the disciples became fishers of Ben. Christ gave the great commission, Mark 1615 clearly says, go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Wow, that’s the commission. That was a young believer and I saw that in the Bible. I said, wow, that’s what God wants me to do. I saw it in the Bible. I don’t know that anybody told me that that was what I should do, but I saw it in the Bible.
And I believe that. And sure enough, that is what God wants us to do. And everyone can lead someone to Christ. When I first trusted Christ as Savior and I discovered what the Bible wanted me to do, I said, I don’t want to do that. Lord, can I just clean or sweep or maybe assist or do something else, but you want me to talk to people and I said I can’t do that. Let me tell you a story. In high school I made pretty good grades but guess what?
I failed speech in high school and the reason why is I wouldn’t give one. I didn’t want to get up in front of a group and so when the teacher would say it’s time for you to give your speech I would say I’m not going to give one. Well you’re going to fail the course. I said well it failed me. So I got an F. That was the only if I think I ever got, and I failed speech in high school.
I wouldn’t give a speech. Then later in college I realized that I needed to tell people about Christ and I began to do it. And even though I was fearful and afraid of us, I knew that God would never ask a believer to do something that he could not do. And so I began to witness and lead people to Christ. was when I was a senior at the University of Florida. We had a class on engineering sales as an electrical engineer and other engineers had to learn how to present their product or their invention or their discoveries or whatever it might be.
And so we were assigned to give three speeches. And the professor said one of those speeches can be on anything. I went came and I said, you mean anything? He said, yes, anything. I said, are you sure? Anything? He said, yes, anything. I decided I would take the challenge. And in my senior year, I gave my speech on the gospel about 300 fellow engineers in this big auditorium and I shared the gospel of Jesus Christ. You know, by the way, I got an AMN class and some of my fellow engineers said, you know, that was the most interesting and best speech we heard the whole time.
That was a big challenge for me. That was a big leap from not wanting to speak at all in front of people to all of a sudden saying, Lord, I know that if you want me to tell others, you will help me. Moses had that problem. He had a speech problem, and the Lord told him to go and speak, and he said, Lord, I have a speech problem. And The Lord reminded Moses and said, who made your mouth? Who created you?
I know all about your speech problem. And I’m telling you, I want you to go and speak for me. It’s interesting that we can come up with lots of excuses, but God certainly changed my life. And now all I do now is talk to people and speak to people and teach a preach. And it’s a regular thing for me. But there was a time in my life. If you feel that knotted stomach or you feel the butterflies flying around in your stomach and you get nervous when you…
Well, that’s normal. The Bible tells us that we can overcome that and everyone can be a witness. Christ said, Matthew 4.19, follow me and I’ll make you a fisher of men. Well, you know, the Christian life is the Christian life. It is the focus that through your life and through your mouth that you would tell others about Christ and joy, testimony, effectiveness, power, rewards among other blessings are associated with being the disciple. And that’s the way to have God become alive in your life.
I like what the hymn writer wrote when he said, trust and obey for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus. Now he didn’t say there’s no other way to be saved, but he said trust and obey. You know, we simply trust Christ to be saved. But then the hymn writer wrote trust and obey for there’s no other way to be H. A. P. P. Happy. If you want to be happy, if you want to have joy. You need to obey the Lord and to obey the Lord is to obey the Great Commission and to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature and you know I found out that that was one of the most exciting things that I’ve ever experienced and it still brings me that same excitement today as with that first person I ever told the gospel to any trusted
Christ as his Savior. It’s wonderful and I hope I could encourage you to become a a disciple. Let me remind you, a disciple is one who is a follower of Christ. If you are claiming that you are following Christ and you are not attempting to lead people to Christ, whatever you are doing, it is not following Christ. Because Christ said in Matthew 4.19, follow me and I will make you a fisher of men. I have a ten-hour series of teaching on how to become a disciple of Christ and what the Bible says about the discipleship and how there is a price to pay to be a disciple.
But the price for salvation has already been paid by Christ. Jesus, the hymn writer, wrote, paid it all. All to Him I owe sin had left a crimson stain, but He washed it his widest note. The good news of the gospel is that Christ paid for our salvation. We simply receive it by trusting Christ the Savior. And a second decision is confronting all of us as believers. Will we become disciples where we follow Christ in pursuit of becoming fishers of men?

Alright, Again the phone number is 1-800-576-3771. We are going to go to Beverly Hills Florida. We have Betty on the line and Betty, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes, good morning, Brother Lynch. Do you know, I think that’s one of the funniest stories I ever heard that you failed this speech class. Oh, you know, it really is a dramatic change for me. I think I wanted to be a beachcomer, just walk on a foreign seashore, just pick up seashulls all my life and avoid humans.
I can identify with that. I can’t do anything throughout the year. One of the first scriptures I ever memorized was X is for 12 where God said to Moses, now therefore go. And I will be with her now and teach me what that shall say. So I tried it. I said, OK. But the Lord said there’s nothing too hard for him. So I tried it and it worked. But I have something more serious I’d like to address, please. We have a friend who has just recently become saved and yesterday she called me and invited me to go with her to an exercise class that is called, I don’t know if I’m going to say it right, it’s called Tye Chye or Tye Chye and right away something inside me warned me that this was one of the Middle Eastern religions and I looked it up on the computer and it
is Zen Buddhism and all of that. But anyway, I informed the individual that this was something dangerous to become involved in. You know, it packaged in something appealing, but it’s very good exercise. Now, I’m very, very, when they use the word holistic, and that was one of the words that was used. Now, how do you think I should deal with this particular individual with her attending these classes. Well, there are some ways of luring people into these different things.
Usually those things they will have. Chance like even with the young kids of a new Taekwondo or Learn Judo and those things, they will recite things that are really matras or prayers and they’re to a false God or false religion. And certainly that’s not acceptable. I just, as a believer, we are really to not participate in that. And I like Romans 16 verse 17 where it says, mark them, which, you know, don’t teach doctrine that’s in line with the Bible, and it says avoid them.
And we really don’t want to get our minds messed up or get into being a part of that. and all these kinds of things. A lot of the holistic health programs, all the yin, the yang and all these kinds of things have to do with these Eastern religions. And I think we are being seduced in a subtle way. And the Bible warns about Satan seducing the lost and getting them captive into these things. And it’s a subtle way to do it.
So most, if If you get a health food store, you’ll find a lot of the books on health have all these kinds of things in them and again, a lot of the exercise programs and that fad that went around for a while, that transcendental meditation was again a part of the far eastern religions and it was an emptying of your mind. The Bible never tells us to do that, it tells us to fill it with God’s Word that we’re meditated his word day and night not to empty our mind out.
That’s a danger because you open your mind then to the devil and of course demonic activity and spirits and so on. So I agree with him. It’s just sometimes people if they’re new believers they find it difficult to accept and they think you’re a little bit you know over reacting but I I don’t think so. I think we need to be very careful what we read, what we see, what we do because the devil’s out there to know that about it.
Yeah, I think of first Peter Five-Aid, you know, we’re Satan wanders around seeking whom he can do a devour. I mean, that’s just a New Booker paraphrase. Yeah. But, you know, I’m very, very disappointed. And one other question if I may please, brother. Go ahead. When you speak of evangelizing and so forth, I agree with you wholeheartedly. But yes, there also a gift of evangelism and if so, could you differentiate between the two for me? All right Betty the Bible talks about Gifts of a spirit and in some areas We are gifted the Bible says that every believer has at least one gift and one of those gifts is the gift of evangelism Another is the gift of giving another is the gift of helps and so on and so on so Synopsis Soorage So just because you don’t have the the gift of giving doesn’t mean you’re exempted from
giving. If you don’t have the gift of evangelism, it doesn’t mean you’re exempted from evangelism. UCHIJ In other words, we’re actually to nerv the gifts in serving stru but in every believer there is a particular area where you’re going to be gifted and be much more successful. abwe of my gifts is evangelism.blogs have been very successful leading many, many, many people to Christ. And that’s the way I’ve287 had this, that drive within me that I saw, I see the knee and my heart goes out to so many who are lost who don’t know the Lord.
And I have a desire to meet that need and I use whatever tells God has given me to try to clarify the gospel, make it clear. can understand the gospel and become safe and that people that I’m leading to Christ might also learn how to do what I do and lead others to Christ. So, basically everybody is this function in the area of all the gifts but you will obviously, as you begin to serve, find that you do better a particular gift and that’s the one that you have the gift for.
Yes. Thank you so much, brother, for being a great example and for stirring us up to be obedient to the Lord. Have a nice day, brother. Thank you. That was Betty in Beverly Hills, Florida. We now have Jerry in Dover, Florida. Jerry, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Yes, Dr. Hank. Could you please explain what the behavior of the blood of Jesus Christ names and what the what are the blood the trading playing the blood yes you know i don’t think you use that you don’t find it in the bible but basically uh…
Now, we are saved, cleansed of our sin by the blood of Christ. So what preachers have done, and I don’t find that anywhere in the Bible, but they say you need to plead the blood, plead the blood. And in some circles that becomes something that’s almost routinely said, but what we need to do is trust Christ and we become saved. So pleading the blood is not a command, it’s not anything that you’ll find in the scripture But it is the means by which we’re saved is the blood of Christ.
If you’re pleading baptism or church membership or keeping the commands to be saved, you’ll serve for sure you’re going to hell. But when we trust Christ, God saves us and it’s based upon his blood. But I don’t know the phrase pleading the blood is in the Bible at all. So I hope that helps. Okay, thank you. All right. And we’ve got to go to break. to believe the time goes quickly when you’re having fun. I guess it is. We’re going to do a second half hour of Bible end just shortly, so don’t go away.
And we are going to be back after this short break and do the second half hour. So keep your radio dial tuned right where it is. And we’re going to come back and do a second half hour of Bible and stay with me as we go to break. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. Well I’m Dr. England’s room and this is Bible and it’s really a pleasure to be with you today.
Thanks for tuning in and listening. I hope we’re challenging you to get into your Bible. Check out whether things are really there, not like the phrase pleading the blood. I don’t see that anywhere in my Bible. And yet it’s become popular in certain churches where the preacher will say plead the blood, the blood. Obviously, we are trusting in the blood of Christ for the means of our salvation, but you could plead the blood and not be saved. You have to trust Christ as Savior in order to be saved.
Sure good to be with you. If you want to check out our website, it’s BibleLineMinistries.org.com. And there you’ll find our online bookstore. There are many things there that I think will help you. We have some wonderful CD series teachings that I have done and I think you’ll really find them beneficial. We did 10 hours of teaching on the Book of Jude. That little book is such a pivotal book. It is the connecting link between the 64 books prior to it and then the last book of the Bible, the Book of Revelation.
book of Revelation. And it’s the hinge pin. And what an incredible book it is. Somebody just called me yesterday from Texas and said, how in the world could you teach ten hours on the book of Jude one chapter long? And I said, well, we were fortunate to get through it in ten hours because it’s so rich and has so much in it dealing with so many different doctrines and just tying the Bible altogether and then presenting the wonderful book that follows the book of Revelation.
You might want to get that ten hours of teaching. It is really going to shock you. I think how much that rich book of Jude contains. We have the book of Revelation, the book of Daniel and many other series, some on topics like the Holy Spirit, the Rapture, the Second Coming, the Reformation Theology of Replacement Theology, the End Time Controversy. All of these things are available and you can call and order them. Also if you’d like to help Bibleline, this is a crucial time for us.

Now you don’t have to watch it live. Anyway, we’re gonna go ahead and go to some of the phone lines here, any off-air questions we got a bunch here.
We’re gonna go right now, and by the way, the phone number is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. We have George and he’s in Palm. I’m Robert Flora and George welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Yeah, I know. I often hear you speak of that there were seven years missing out of the Old Testament, which you believe would be fulfilled in the tribulation. Could you tell me what what that is and how you come to that conclusion? Say that one more time.
I just missed the point. Yeah. There we go. Is that better? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I often hear you say that in the Old Testament, there were seven years that weren’t fulfilled. If you could give me, and that would be fulfilled during a tribulation. Oh, absolutely. If you could give me the scripture and how you come to that conclusion, that would be great. I’ll do it. That’s Daniel chapter 9 and you’ll find there in verse 14. verse 24 that God revealed to Daniel a vision of 70 weeks of years.
And if you read carefully, he tells when to start counting the 70 weeks of years, that would be 490 years. And he tells us how many weeks of years would transpire, till Christ would die on the cross. It tells us after 69 of those weeks of years, or 483 years from the start point, the giving of the commandment to restore and rebuild Jerusalem after the Babylonian captivity, that Christ would down the cross to pay for our sins. The Messiah would be cut off out of the land of the living, but not for Himself, for you and for me and for our sins.
But then there’s a gap. The Bible says right after that the city of Jerusalem would be destroyed, the temple would be destroyed. And then it refers to a 70th week, a seven year period that is yet unfulfilled that will take place after the Rapture. What is not said there is that, and of course God fills in the blanks later, but they’re in that gap between the 69th and the 70th week of years between the end of the 483 years, which is 69 times 7, and the 70th week which is 7 years yet to come, the church age occurred.
That began at Pentecost, it ended the rapture, and as soon as the rapture happens, the last 7 years will tick off the clock. In a sense, when Christ died, God’s clock stopped ticking, and that’s what Daniel 926 is saying. And then it’s not until the church age has concluded that the rapture that the last 7 years will tick off the clock and that’s mentioned in Daniel 927. There you find the Jews again offering sacrifices in a rebuilt temple. The Antichrist will come and stop those sacrifices, cause them to cease, demand to be worshiped, and will desecrate the third temple.
And then of course Christ comes back to rule and reign. Georgia, I hope that helps and that is kind of a quick summary of Daniel’s 70th week. That is the seven years of tribulation and in Revelation Revelation chapter 11 and 12 and many of the chapters, it talks about the seven years being divided into two parts, three and a half years and three and a half years which are made equivalent to 42 months which is three and a half years and 42 months and also 1260 days and 1260 days which are the number of days and three and a half years.
So it’s everywhere and certainly that will get you moving. We’re really good at Tim in Clearwater and Tim, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hi Dr. Hank. I’ve had a comment about the petty couple of colors you know. I caught just the very tail end of it but there’s a book out called Safe Undone by Roger Oakland. Have you ever heard of Roger Oakland? No I have not. He’s a founder of Understand the Times Internationals and he has a website, LighthouseTrails.com.
He will address every question that anyone has about the emerging church and the mantras and all that that’s going on. This book was just released two weeks ago. There’s a chapter here called, Monks, Mystics and Ancient Wisdom, Second Coming of the Eucharistic Christ, all this stuff is involved in the emerging church movement and the spiritual formation. Sometimes they just call Christian spirituality, but just look at the fantastic book. I know your stand on the Bible and I’m sure that this man and you agree whole.
Just a book called Faith Undone by Roger Oak and I would recommend it to anyone who is delving into the emerging church movement and that please get out. Alright. This is a subtle, subtle thing, but it’s dangerous. Well, I sure thank you and I’m going to definitely get it for myself and I really believe that’s what’s happening today is that… St. Louis is attacking and undoing and shaking the foundations of the church unless we get back to our Bibles and proclaim the wonderful cruiser in his word.
We’re going to see Christianity erode even more than it already has. It’s a tragedy when I see happening. Oh, it definitely is. And one thing I heard, excuse me, by Brian McLaren, who was one of the leaders of the emerging church, said that the gospel of Jesus Christ is no longer the death bear on resurrection, but it is the ushering of the kingdom. And they believe that they can usher in the kingdom by changing the world by doing their good works.
And of course, we need to take care of those who are hurting and are injured and sick in different places. We do need to do that. But they believe that by doing those good works they can usher in the kingdom of God before Jesus ever comes back. Amen. Amen. I appreciate your call and thanks for that. That’s not that information. Yes, sir. Thank you. All right. Thank you, Tim. Tim in Clearwater, Florida. And we are really, I think, rapidly approaching the Lord’s return.
And these are all helpful hints for us. We have Peter in Palm Harbor, Florida, and he asked the question, off air, was the Ethiopian eunuch in Acts chapter 8 a Jew? And the answer is probably he was. He had come to Jerusalem to worship. He happened to have a copy of the book of Isaiah in his chariot with him. He was reading from that book. So it sounds like he was an Old Testament Jew and Philip comes over and leads him to Christ, tells him that the passage is talking about Jesus and leads him to a saving on his Christ.
Wonderful story, but I suspect that he was a Jew. powerful in his position. He was the treasurer of Queen Candace of Ethiopia, had charge of all her treasure, and that was a man searching, I think. And Philip was led by the Lord to go leading the Christ, and he led him to Christ. Carl in Temple Forlitz says in Mark 1615, References who’s so ever believe it? Who is this referring to well not in mark 1615 Carl? It says go into all the world preach the gospel every creature.
I think you’re talking about mark 16 16 It says who’s ever believe it that is baptized Shelby say but he to believe it not Shelby damned So apparently we have the wrong verse there, but for 16 who’s so ever believe it that means anyone on everyone that would believe on Christ, that would trust, actually the Greek word means to trust, if you trust Christ you’re going to be saved. When the baptism there is not water, it’s clearly the baptism that Christ baptizes with, and that is the cleansing, the washing of our sin by his blood when you trust him as your Savior, and it’s certainly not talking about water.
Water will not save you, and clearly if you don’t believe on Christ, you will be damned according to Mark 1616. We now have cells in Tampa, Florida. I believe I’m pronouncing that right. I spelled here on my screen at least, S E L S, called in just now and leaves this comment or question. I heard you say that you would go to hell if you kept the Ten Commandments. Now, let me just stop right there. I said if you are trusting in keeping the 10 commandments.
If that’s the means by which you’re going to be saved, definitely you’ll go to hell. I’m not advocating we break the 10 commandments, but I am saying that unless you trust Jesus to save you, you will not go to heaven. And a lot of people, the first thing out of their mouth when you ask them, what do you think you have to do to go to heaven? They’ll say, keep the 10 commandments. That’s the most popular answer out there.
And if somebody tells me they’re obligated to keep the Ten Commandments to be saved in the good of heaven, they’re wrong. In Romans chapter 3 verse 28, it tells us there that we’re saved by faith without the needs of the law. It’s a great conclusion to the first three chapters of the book of Romans. This is therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith that is in Jesus Christ, the context demands it. But it says without, without, without, without the deeds of the law.
We’re saved by Christ, not by the deeds of the law. And in Galatians 3, 10 it says that everybody is trying to be saved by the laws under a curse. The curse is hell. But it says in verse 13 of Galatians story that Christ was made a curse for us. He took the curse. He says, Lord, keep the commandments of the law, upon himself at the cross and died to pay for your sins and mine, and when you place your trust in him, you become saved.
Ms. Sells goes on to say, Jesus says, keep the commandments, if you love me. Well, let me just talk about that for a minute, Sells. He’s not talking about the ten commandments. When Jesus says, keep my commandments, if you love me, He’s talking about Christ’s commandments. Again, he doesn’t say, keep my commandments if you want to be saved. He says, keep my commandments if you love me. The Christian who is in love with the Lord will be obedient to Christ’s commands.
One of those is to study the Word of God every day. Another one is to pray without ceasing. Luke 18 1, Matthew 4-4 says, men shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Because Christ tells us it’s our daily food. We’re to witness our Christ. We’re to tell people the gospel, going to all the world. That’s the command of Christ. And there are many commandments that Christ is given. And if we are a believer who loves the Lord, we will be obedient to keep those commands.
But we’re not talking about the Ten Commandments. So if you’re thinking it’s the Ten Commandments, you’re not rightly dividing the Bible. And cells says, I do not agree with you. I think you probably don’t agree with me because I don’t think you heard me correctly. First of all, we’re saved by trusting Christ as Savior cells. And if you are attempting to be saved by the Ten Commandments, you will go to hell. That’s what I was saying. Also, when Jesus says, keep the commandments.
If you love me, he’s not saying, keep the commandments to be saved. And he’s not talking about the Ten Commandments. He’s talking about his own commandments. If you love the Lord, you will keep them. If you don’t keep them, it just says you don’t love the Lord. A lot of people loosely say I love the Lord. I don’t use that word love very often. I use it very sparingly because it’s a serious word. If you really do love the Lord, then you’ll be obedient to His commands.
If you don’t, or if you’re not obedient to those commands, it simply says you don’t loving, but that doesn’t mean you’re not saved. If you trust Christ, you are saved. Nobody, by the way, has ever kept the commandments. John 17, John 7 verse 19, Jesus said, did not Moses give you the law yet? None of you have kept the law. Nobody’s ever kept the law. You, nor me, nor anyone else, accepting for Christ, he’s the only one who’s ever kept the law.
He’s sinless, God who took on flesh, who died to pay for our sins. We have George in palm beach gardens on the east coast of fordham and george welcome to bible uh… good morning thank you they had a question uh… paul said in scriptures that long hair on a and was an abomination all the pictures we see of christ he had long hair which i object to paul took the ball of an azurene or an azurite in which case i saw me go along because it’s that he had a trade that is not true he never never took a nest right now what was the reference where he was leaving reese i think any had his hair shaped jesus never went to grease park jesus never went to grease are we going to have to go on you and i’m a jesus you talk about paul
ok paul went to mess on the s okay and he had his hair shaped before he left there on one of the trip well he had a short evening i mean he had a cut off today paulton where long here in fact he’s the one that tells us it’s a shame for men to have long hair the hairstyle in the time of uh… christ was short hair as i was established by the roman empire you look at all the statues of of the time of christ they all have i’ve been the cornst numerous times they have a museum there in cornst and i uh…
looked around at all the different statues They all had short hair. They were all statues from the time of Paul and of course, but there was two big statues at one end of the museum that had long hair. And I asked the museum curator there in Corinth, who are those two guys? He said those were slaves that had come down from Gaul and were captured and used as slaves and they had the long hair. and apparently some of these people got saved in Corinth and Paul is writing to them and he tells them they needed a get their haircut.
He says it’s a shame for Ben, Amal, and Paul obviously would not violate that either. And that was the hairstyle of everybody in the time of Christ. So Christ never took a nose right now. And Paul didn’t take an answer right now. If you take an answer right now, you can’t drink wine, Christ drank wine, and also you cannot touch a dead body. And Christ obviously touched dead bodies, as you see in the New Testament that he did. So I think this is certainly not true.
My question would be then, so Paul didn’t take a bar than Azerim? No, never did. I’m referring to I was referring to well get back to me on that but no Paul never took a Nazarite vow and Nor did Jesus neither one of them did now Christ was called a Nazarene because he was raised in Nazareth but he never had Taken and as the right vow which is a totally different ballgame and certainly that is not the case here You’re welcome to call in if you’d like to.
The phone number is 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. And we invite you to give us a call. By the way, if you go to the website BibleLineMinistries.org.com, click on the Spinning Globe. You’ll be connected to our radio page. You can also of course dial up 1-800-576-3771 and talk to a live operator and say I would like to leave an offer question and we’ll be glad to do that. If we don’t get to it today, then we’ll try to get to it tomorrow or as soon as we can. Sometimes we take several days because the live callers take precedent over the affairs so that kind of works. I hope if you’re listening today that you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior.
It’s amazing to me how many people have this blindness where they We’ll talk about being a Christian and believe that they are a Christian and mainly because they’ve been raised in that environment and maybe have been baptized or confirmed and so on. But unless you’ve trusted Christ as your only means of getting to heaven, that means excluding the Ten Commandments, excluding Baptism, excluding confirmation, excluding all the other things you can add. You’re not saved. You’re not a Christian. A Christian is one who has trusted Christ as his only means of reaching heaven.
And Jesus made it very clear in John 14 that he alone is the way to heaven. He didn’t say, you and I are the way to heaven. And if we team up and you do your part and I’ll do my part you’ll get to have it that is complete nonsense Jesus said that he paid our sin debt and full remember on the cross he said it is finished that means he paid in full the Greek word translated it is finished means full satisfaction received for the debt paid in full Christ He just paid our full sin debt by his death and then he was buried and then he rose again from the dead.
And unless you trust Christ and Christ alone without the deeds of the law, without baptism, without confirmation as being something that you’re putting your trusting, trust in, you’re not saved. That’s why I’m pleading with you to understand what we’re saying here that the true gospel is believe or trust on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved. Romans 1 16 I’m not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for if the gospel is the power, the power of God and the salvation to everyone that what believe it when you believe the gospel you become saved and that is of course why it’s called good news.
I hope you’ve prayed that prayer and just said Lord on the center you don’t have to pray a prayer but just tell the Lord Lord I trust you right now. In the moment you do God up in heaven knows any save you. We’re still in the month of August and this has been a slow summer for Bible and I think most Christian ministries and churches experience a downfall in the summer. We were trying to get through the summer on our feet.
