A lot of people tell me they listen when they get home from work in the evening even if they heard bits and pieces while they’re out and about during the day they come back and open their Bible and sit down.
And you know the nice thing about the internet is you can pause the program, you can fast forward, you can go backward, and you can listen to selective portions again and again. So that’s kind of neat. So you might want to try that. That’s BibleAndMinistries.orgio.com. This Sunday we’re going to do something very special, and that is at 9 o’clock for an hour from 9 to 10 Eastern Standard Time. You’re going to do a special interactive webcast on the computer.
So if you go to the website that is BibleLineMinistries.org.com, click on the camera at 9 o’clock. I will be talking about the Rapture and we will be taking your questions from the Internet and answering them you’ll be able to see us teaching and answering questions live Sunday morning it ought to be uh… kind of neat and it’ll be a special special uh… webcast by the way september twelve is less than a week away now and that is the potential date for the rapture whenever christ returns i’m not saying christ is coming this year don’t misunderstand me but he could and if he does We have less than a week left here on the planet.
We’re going to talk about that Sunday morning. We’ll answer your questions. We’ll point out the scriptures, and we hope that you’ll tune that in. That’s 9 till 10 Eastern Standard Time. And then we’re going to repeat that for the next hour, from 10 to 11. And then if you’re still with us, you’ll be able to catch our morning worship service live on the internet Sunday morning the 9th of September. Check that out. September 9th, 9 to 10, click on the camera on the home page of our website, you will be able to catch this special interactive teaching on the Rapture.
And it could be that we’re leaving here with less than a week away till the Rapture date. I don’t know. I’m not setting a date, but I truly look every year, especially at this time of year, which I believe is the time when Christ will return. And the reason why is because there are seven feast days given back in the Old Testament In Leviticus 23, the seven feast days are listed, and all of them are a prophetic picture of the first and second comings of Jesus Christ.
The first four were fulfilled literally at the first coming, and the last three will be fulfilled by his second coming. The first feast was Passover, and Christ died as the Passover lamb, exactly at the time of the Passover when Israel was offering up their lamb. First Corinthians 5-7 says, for even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us. So Jesus is the Passover lamb. And we’re impacted by that beautiful picture in the Old Testament because the Corinthian letter was written to primarily Gentile believers.
We’re not Jewish and we’re not really that acquainted with the Jewish holidays and these But you know, it tells us that for even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us in 1 Corinthians 5-7. Then we have the Feast of Unleavened Bread, a picture of the sinless body of Christ, the bread representing Christ’s body. Speaking of his burial, Christ was buried exactly during that time of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Then we have the Feast of First Fruits, and Christ was raised from the dead on the Feast of First Fruits Day.
Not exciting. 1 Corinthians 15 verse 20 says, Now is Christ risen from the dead and become the first fruits of them that slept. He is the fulfillment of that feast day. 1 Corinthians 15 verse 20. Wow. The next piece, the fourth one, is Pentecost. You know what happened at Pentecost. This church age, this Gentile age began with the Holy Spirit coming on the day of Pentecost. It happened exactly on the day. You read Acts 2 verse 1 and it says, and when the day of Pentecost was fully come, it’s a word that means 50 days.
It was 50 days after the resurrection, 50 days after the feast of first fruit stay, that The Holy Spirit came and this age began. There are three more feasts in the fall of the year and since Pentecost began the church age. I believe it’s reasonable to assume the next feasts will end the church age and that’s the feast of trumpets. And that’s when the trumplesound and up will go, we’ll meet the Lord in the air and we’ll be given our new bodies on the way up and we’ll be forever with the Lord.
Wow, it’s exciting. And that happens this coming week, September 12th. That’s right. That’s the date for the Feast of Trumpets. And as Pentecost happened right on the day, I believe whatever year Christ returns, it’ll happen right on the day. Are you ready? If you’re a believer, you’re going to go up. That’s right. Every believer is included in the Rapture. It really has nothing to do with our behavior. has to do with what Christ did for us. Every believer belongs to the Lord and He is going to catch every one of us up.
We are going to miss the darkest hours of human history, the tribulation period that will follow the rapture. Isn’t that exciting? I am looking for good and I tell you if I don’t get to meet you here on this earth, I will meet you in the air. How about that? Every believer will be there. We are all going to be there. I’d like to give some high fives on the way up. Wouldn’t that be fun? To just celebrate the fact that we’re going to be in the presence of the Lord forever when this event takes place and be a part of a group that will be exempted from death, that will never die.
Isn’t that incredible? You know, there’s a group of people that will never die. Jesus spoke about it in John 11. He says in verse 25, he said, I am the resurrection and the life. He’s the believer in me, though he were dead yet shall he live. That happens to most people, they die and then they’re going to be given a resurrection body when Christ returns. But verse 26 tells about the rapture. It says, and who’s to ever believe it or liveth and believeth in me shall never die.
Those that are living when Christ returns that believe on Christ will never die. They’ll be caught up, they’ll be exempted from death. They’ll be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. Really exciting. I am so excited I can’t hardly stand it. I’ve got a lot of people doing rapture practice. I caught someone here just yesterday. I don’t know if any notice that I was noticing, but they were kind of rocking back and forth under feet, toes to heels and kind of flapping their arms around a little bit.
We always tease about it around here, but actually caught somebody practicing. You know, when you’re thinking about it, This is a time to kind of have fun with this and be ready for the Lord to snatch us out. Go ahead and do a little rapture practice. Probably want to do it maybe in a private place because people might think you’re kind of strange while you’re walking back and forth and flapping your arms. But of course we’re just having fun.
We know that when you are raptured, you won’t have to flap your arms and you won’t have to kick off the earth and push up or anything like that. The Lord is just going to take you. You’ll be propelled into space and catch be caught up to meet the Lord in the air and meet him. In the upper atmosphere above the planet, there will receive our new bodies as we’re going on the way up. And from that point on, the Bible says we’ll forever be with the Lord.
One great verse you certainly want to know is 1 Thessalonians 4-14. The key to being raptured, the key to being saved is the same. It says, if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, then my friend, you’re going to be in it. The word believe means to trust. When you trust the gospel message, which is that Jesus died and rose again, and he died and paid for your sin was buried, and it came back again from the dead.
The moment you believe on Christ, trusting Christ as your only hope of heaven, believing that his death and shed blood paid your sin dead in full, that he was buried and that he rose again from dead, God saves you. It saves you and that is exciting news. And I tell you, I’m looking forward to meeting all of you because every believer is going to be there. There’s going to be a meeting in the air of all the believers from Pentecost till the Rapture.
Wow, what a great time that’s going to be. We’re all going to be smiling, all going to be excited, all going to be happy, all in our new bodies, all set to spend eternity with the Lord. It’s going to be wonderful. I hope you’re a believer because if you’re not, you’re going to be left behind. I wouldn’t wish that on anybody. I’ll tell you, the world is going to be a real mess. If you think it’s bad now, it’s really going to be a mess after the Rapture.
That’s right. It’s going to be the worst time the world has ever seen. described as lawlessness, darkness, a time of just violence and crime. It’s not going to be a good time. Jesus said it would be again as it was in the days of Noah when Jesus returns. That’s talking about the tribulation period. And what does it say in Genesis 611? And the earth was filled with violence. The earth was filled with violence. Are we living in a violent world today, we surely are.
And I think it’s going to get worse. That’s right, not better. It’s going to get worse. We are living in the end times. I’m Dr. Inklyn from Mrs. Bybaline. It’s great to be with you every day. And I hope that you’re listening every day. And we’re going to try to get the sum of fair questions. I’ve got a whole bunch here and we’ve been getting behind because we’ve had so many live callers. If you want to call in the numbers 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771, don’t forget this Sunday, 9 o’clock.
If you want to be in the audience when we do this, you are welcome. 9 o’clock, we’re going to do this in our main auditorium. It’ll be a live interactive webcast. We’re going to be talking about the Rapture. We’ll be taking your questions from anywhere in the world and you’ll watch me answer those questions and talk about the event of the Rapture and it’ll be a great time, especially thinking that maybe this might be the year if it is, then next Wednesday, September 12th we’re all out of here.
Well, that’s going to be exciting. 90 morning, 9 to 10, Eastern Standard Time. Get your computer tuned up and click on the camera. At 9 o’clock, this thing will start. If you’re in the Tampa Bay area, you want to come sit in while we do it, you’re most welcome and we hope that you will. I’m Dr. Ankeren Klinz from Mrs. Bibleline. We’re going to go ahead and go to the phone lines. We have Barbara in St. Petersburg. Barbara, welcome to Bibleline.
You are on the air. Hi, Becky, my call. I wish I could share in your enthusiasm about the rapture and the day of Pentecost. But I’m a brand new Christian and I can’t even grasp my salvation yet. And the year ago to Pentecostal Church, and I still don’t get it, but my pastor’s working on me with it. But what I call about is I wanted to respond to yesterday’s young lady who called in about a masonic. I wanted her to know that I believe that they are on a call because when I was married, my husband joined the Masons.
Everything that he had to study and memorize was done in secret. All meetings were in secret and his initiation was in secret and the night he came home from his first day before he could go on to further degrees, he came home very, very pale. I don’t know what they put him through. He couldn’t say, well, my husband was a very strong man, and for him to be pale is highly unusual, and I’d just say, with somebody approaching you from the Masonic, run in the opposite direction.
That’s very good advice Barbara and I thank you for sharing that with us and definitely we have a wonderful little pamphlet called facts about the masons and It’s only six dollars, but wow it will open your eyes to the falseness of that movement and Barbara your salvation Is a gift you cannot work for it and you receive it the moment you believe So this ought to be something that you enjoy now for eternity. Once you trust Christ, at the moment you believe, the Bible says in John 3 16, that you would not perish, but you would have.
Have as a prison-tense verb. It means right now that you would possess everlasting life. Where I have a hang up on my salvation is that I know that God cannot stand, in fact, away from Christ on the cross during the crucifixion when Christ said, like, I’m like, God, why do you forsaken me? So if God cannot stand to send, then He cannot reside in me because I’m a sinner, even though I just got saved. I still have several old habits that I’m trying to get rid of.
I’ve managed to quit swearing. I still smoke cigarette like a tinder. Out of bitches. Bob, do you have a pencil there? Yes. Right down this verse, 2 Corinthians 521. The Bible tells us that God made Christ, 2 Corinthians 521, God made Christ to be sin for us, Christ to no no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. Positionally, right now God sees you with the righteousness of God. He sees you as though you had not ever sinned a single sin.
That is our position in Christ. Now our actual state is obviously as you describe yours and we need to work on that. But we don’t have to work on that to be saved. We are saved at the moment we trust the Lord and God sees us as righteous. But we are therefore able to have the Holy Spirit dwell on us because positionally, as far as God is concerned, our sins are gone, they’re paid for, it’s a done deal. And God sees you with Christ’s righteousness with the righteousness of God from the very moment that you believe.
And so you’re saved forever from the moment you trust Christ. And smoking or swearing has nothing to do with eternity. But it has to do with your rewards, the blessings you’re not going to get in on unless you clean those things up, but certainly as far as your salvation is concerned, Christ has already paid for every sin you’d ever commit in your whole life past, present, and future. And he credits your account with his righteousness at the moment you believe it’s of God sees you as righteous, and the Holy Spirit does come in at the moment you believe on Christ and indwells you forever.
Well, what confuses me out the more when you say that is this Pentecostal church that I’ve been going to teach you that if you are continually repeating the same sin over and over, then you haven’t really repented and therefore you lose your salvation. In the terrible world, you’re in the wrong church. Any church that teaches you that you can lose your salvation is teaching you incorrectly because it’s really teaching salvation by works and by behavior and by conduct. And we’re not saved by anything that we do.
Barbara, we’re saved by what Christ did for us. So. Alright. The true plan of salvation always points you back to the cross of Calvary where Jesus said it’s finished and that in the Greek means paid in full. He’s fully paid your send that. But every false group has you looking at your life presently in your future and tells you that there are things that you need to do or cannot do and that will determine whether you make heaven or not.
That’s works. And so you’re in a church that’s teaching bad doctrine. You need to get out of there. Oh, okay. Well, that sure pairs up a lot of my confusion. Because I couldn’t understand why I wasn’t jumping in joy and dancing up and down and so forth the way so many of them do. You know, it’s… So it’s like I intellectually accepted it, but my heart didn’t. Well, that’s the reason why is because they’re telling you, uh, wrong doctrine there because the, the, I love that hymn.
It says Jesus paid it all. All to Him, I owe sin, it left the criminals insane, but He washed it as wide as snow. We don’t cleanse ourselves for salvation. Christ is the one who paid the payment and He cleanses us and we’re seen with God’s righteousness and we’re saved from the moment of belief forever thereafter. But then if you want to get in on blessings and rewards, that’s when you have to get your life cleaned up and God will bless you and reward you and you’ll have the joy that you’re looking for.
You fell my tab as a huge load that you just… Well, that’s great, Barbara. you just keep listening to Bibleline and hopefully you can find a good church and if you are having trouble, give us a call offline and we’ll try to maybe recommend something to you. Thank you so much. I appreciate it. God bless you. God bless you. We’ll be praying for you. Thank you. All right. So many are confused by being under bad teaching. I was raised in a church that taught you could lose your salvation and obviously you’re never assured.
You never know whether you’re going to make it or not. And basically, bottom line is it’s teaching salvation by works because it makes you the Savior ultimately because what you’re going to do or not going to do ultimately will determine whether you’re saved or not. We have Latrice and Richmond, Virginia and Latrice, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Latrice, you’re on the air. Hello. Hi. Hi. Good. You have a question? Yes, I do have a question. That’s like I have two questions.
Good. The first question is when we be put up in the Raptor and we have our husband and our kids or whatever, when we be able to have our kids with us up there and maybe I’ll let him answer that one first. Well, absolutely. Latrice, you’ll be able to be with your family and everyone that has gone before you. I lost a teenage son and I know he’s waiting for me and I’m looking forward to being with him. So definitely, you’re going to be meeting with loved ones and friends and be with them forever and ever.
Okay. And my second question is, is this late? Well, let me see. I must say like this. kind of Christian would like deal with, I guess I want to say, praise bills or pray with calendars basically and do things with aid and they call it stuff a reverence of money and they said, he want to help you. What kind of Christian would that be called? I think it falls Christian. I think you need to stay away from all that kind of stuff where they practice those things.
You know, you as a believer can go directly to the Lord in prayer. And the Bible says in Hebrews 10, based upon the fact that Christ has paid for all of our sins, it says in verse 17, there are sins and iniquities where I remember no more. It tells us in verse 19 that we can have boldness to come right into the very presence of God and fellowship and worship Him and pray to Him and we have direct access.
So you don’t need anybody else. But Jesus. So, I mean… Is that like witchcraft? Yep, it is. It’s absolutely forbidden. You can read Deuteronomy chapter 18. The first eight verses or so list a lot of things that are just absolutely wrong and God says they’re an abomination and you should not be involved in them. Okay, because the lady, she’s calling herself a Reverend somebody and that’s, you know, really confusing because she says she’s a Christian and all this and she sent to help from God and all this.
Nope. I would. I would. run. Stay away from her. Thank you, Latrice. We’re so glad you called in us. This is Bible and Dr. Englund’s from, and we’re coming up on our break here, and we’ll come back and do a second half hour. We want you to stay with us. Again, we thank you for tuning in today. At 9 o’clock Sunday morning for an hour, we’re going to have an interactive webcast live.

The Rapture date is September 12th if Lord were to come this year. And again, we’re not setting dates and we’re not saying that Christ is coming this year. But he could. And if he does, would that be nice to talk about it and get your questions answered prior to as we watch as the Bible tells us we should be watching for Christ’s return and we’re just watching. We don’t know what year he’s coming but we do know that Jesus is coming again.
Also, we want you to know that our radio programs, television programs and worship services so far we have 44 sermons up on the internet that we have done through this webcasting and you can watch them just a little bit more and we’re going to have a full year sitting there. That’s right. If If you take 52 weeks and subtract 44, how many more weeks do I have to go and have a full year of sermons there? You can watch a full year of sermons right there on the internet.
I hope you’ll do that and take advantage. By the way, Bible and is supported by our listeners. We covet your prayers and if you can financially help us, that would be great. The Bible talks about giving to the Lord’s work. And we certainly want you to give wisely and to give where people are getting saved and are moving forward with the Gospel of Christ. We have a lot of wonderful books in our resource center.

But I like Zondervin’s pictorial because it has so many pictures in it. And we have that. It’s a nice thick volume for a gift of $25 plus shipping. I think you’ll really enjoy that. We have also this Gospel of John that we’re teaching. We’re going to do one more week.
That will be a total of 18 hours. And we’re going to break that into two parts. And we’re talking about right now how we’re going to finally package this so that you can get it in two parts and make it affordable. Maybe you want to get part one and then later get part two or you can get all of it at one time. We’ve had a wonderful time teaching John’s Gospel, verse by verse, and what a throwing book that is.
We hope that you will consider maybe ordering that CD series, and as soon as we finish next Tuesday night, we’ll be shipping those out. Well, we’re going to get into the Bible here, and then we’re going to go ahead and answer questions. We have a lot of callers sitting there waiting, and we’re going to try to get to them as quickly as we can and we’ll try to catch some of the offers as well. We have anonymous… In the land floor look so welcome to the Bible and program anonymous.
I just wanted to make a comment about the masons that and I speak from experience but that’s sure that their birth to is from the grandson of a king. The grandson of king wow yeah that’s sort that they refer to two ball. Oh my goodness. He, yeah, and if you study the book of Genesis and it’s right there at the beginning, they will tell you about Solomon and how he was building the temple and it’s right there in the Bible, but they do mix the Bible in with their services.
But once you realize that that sword comes from two-ball, that’s where that sword comes from. Wow. And it’s from Kane, and Kane, as we know, went about his own way. He wanted to serve God in his own way. And that’s not a hold of that, because nobody before that time could really tell me that, you know, because the masons do a lot of, and I’m not saying, it’s just like you said, with the discipleship and being a believer. the fact is that that’s where that sort derives from.
Well thank you for sharing that. I did not know that until today. So thank you for letting us know. The Masons are a false group and certainly King was of that wicked one. The Bible tells us in 1 John 3.15 and he was a murderer as he killed his brother Abel. We’re going to go to Mac up in Peace Florida and Mac. Welcome to Bibleline your own ear. I think Dr. Lindstrom, I have a question from the book of Revelation.
Revelation 5 verse 11, I believe, and I have the help and I have heard the voice of many angels run about the throne and the base and the elder. elders. Can we find that verse? You find it? Um, it says I beheld and I heard the voice of many angels. Is that the verse you’re referring to? It’s in one of these verses. The elders are mentioning it a number of times. Oh, here we are. Here we are. Verse 9.
And they sang a new song saying, they are worthy to take the book and to open the seals thereof, for thou was slain, and hast me deemed us to God by the blood out of every kindred and tongue and people in nations, and hast made us unto our God, kings and priests, and we shall reign on the earth. Okay, the 24 elders are saying that they shall reign on the earth. When will that happen? That is during the thousand-year millennial kingdom where Christ was set up at the Second Coming, a kingdom here on this earth where he will rule as King of Kings in Lord of Lords.
He will rule over the whole earth as King of the whole earth in Jerusalem will be the world’s capital. So that’s when it takes place. place at the second coming. And chapters 4 through 19 describe that seven-year tribulation period that occurs right after the rapture and is concluded by the second coming when Christ sets up that kingdom. That’s what I thought. Some years ago I had a different job and I had to get up early in the morning as I was I’d be goving into work.
There was this one church of Christ minister who had his little 15 minute program and he invited people to ask, you know, calling questions. And I called that question in. My, my, it was, you know, recorded the, I talked to a machine and I asked them to end that same question. At church of Christ, they don’t believe in the rapture. They don’t believe in the, in the millennial reign. But anyway, I asked that question the next two or three mornings.
listen to that man and see what he had to say he totally blew me off he totally ignored it i ever asked questions they can i have they can’t handle it nobody can’t they can’t so i thought that’s what i thought you know it meant that that They would rain during the millennium. I thank you, sir. All right. Thank you, Mac. It was Mac up in Pace, Florida, which is up in the Panhandle, part of Florida, over toward Alabama.
We have a fellow named Art who calls in from the, or rather, writes in from Oregon. That’s quite a long ways off. He says here, I hear you say, are you saved all the time? It doesn’t mean anything unless it changes you or the world for better. Otherwise that kind of faith is useless. The world will be better off without it. He goes on and this is quite a lengthy two-page article. But he says here that it’s all about change.
A relationship with God happens when you pray. Treat prayer as actual two-way communication, sometimes enhanced by fasting and always trying to live God’s Word, in other words, keeping the commandments and so on and so on. Well, Art, you have totally missed what the Bible talks about as far as salvation. The relationship that the Bible talks about that a believer has is because of the new birth. When you trust Christ, you become born into God’s family and you become forever God’s son or daughter.
You know, when I was born physically into my parents’ family, I became their son and I was their son whether I was obedient or whether I was not obedient. My dad never said unless you change you’re not going to be my son anymore. I’m still his son and now my dad has passed away but I’m always going to be his son. There’s nothing I can do to change that and it has nothing to do with my behavior. Art, you really are missing it and I’m concerned about you that you haven’t understood the plan of salvation.
You keep using the word changed all the way through here and you don’t find that in the Bible. nowhere does the Bible tell us to change our life, it says that we have to have a new birth. We have to be born again. That’s a brand new birth and it’s a birth of God that occurs at the moment you trust Christ as your Savior. So, amazing, amazing. Anyway, thank you for writing in part and keep listening and I hope that you’ll pay attention that Salvation is a gift received by simply trusting Christ as your Savior.
You call or rather send in that as an email, a two-page novel to me about how we’re preaching the wrong message here. Carl in Tampa, Florida says, here, all fair, I heard Charles Stanley say, your name is placed in the book, once you’re saved. I heard you say the opposite. Please expound. Well, the Bible teaches, I believe, that Carl everybody’s name is in the book to begin with, and that if you believe on Christ as your Savior, if you trust Him as your Savior, at the moment of salvation, God promises in Revelation 3.5 that He will not blot out your name out of the book of life.
In other words, everybody’s name is in the book, but when you become saved, God promises your name will never come out. But if you die as an unbeliever, Carl, at the moment of death, your name is stricken from the book. Now this is opposite of what most people teach. We’ve all been taught wrong about many things, and this is one of those things where people are taught wrong. Everybody is usually taught in most churches that when you trust Christ, your name is written in the book.
Not true. Your name is already there because Christ died for everyone and it is potentially possible for everyone to be saved. And you have your whole lifetime to choose to trust Christ and be saved. When you do trust Christ to be saved, Revelation 3.5 says He promises He will not blot your name out of the book of life as they are permanently. But if you die as an unbeliever, at the moment of death, your name will be stricken from the book.
So that’s the answer, Carl. I hope that helps. Unbelievers will have their names stricken and death when they stand before the great white throne judgment and the book of life is open. Their name will not be found there because it was stricken at the moment of death. Jordan calls in from Albany, New York and he says, in what ways does God chase in believers? Well, I think there are many different ways, but he certainly gets your attention and I think the believer can know that God is dealing with him.
In 1 Corinthians chapter 11 and verse 30 Jordan 1 Corinthians 11 30 it says He said that for this cause many of you are weak and many of you are sickly and many of you are dead. So in that particular case many were made weak many were made sick and many died. You have numerous passages that talk about chasing but definitely God will get your attention in dealing with you in your life. He’s doing that because he loves you and wants you to live for him and serve him and get in on the blessings that He could not Give to the believer who’s obedient to him.
All right. We have a patty in Tampa, Florida She said I heard a preacher on the radio implied that the word belief that is used so many times in the New Testament Really means obey So believe in Jesus would be obey him is that correct and the answer is absolutely not I am just amazed at how much wrong teaching there is out there and no wonder people get confused. The Greek word translated belief in the New Testament is the Greek word postuo P-I-S-T-E-U-O.
And if you look it up it means from the Greek it means to trust, it means to rely upon, it means to put your confidence in, it means to rest your weight upon, and the moment you trust Christ, God saves you eternally. It has nothing to do with our obeying Him. Now there are passages that talk about our obeying the gospel. Now the gospel is believe or trust on the Lord Jesus Christ and I shall be saved. So we obey the gospel by believing or trusting Christ.
We disobey the gospel when we reject Christ. So that is absolutely true. But the word believed does not have any connotation of works. It is a word that means trust, reliance upon confidence in, resting your weight upon. Okay, we’re now going to go to Richard in Valrico Florida, and he says, please discuss Deuteronomy 22. How do these tonings differ from how Muslims treat women today? Well, the penalty for crimes in the Old Testament was punishable by death and they would kill them by stoning.
And we know the Muslims killed by stoning and also by beheading people. And so the means of execution is not much different, but the crimes are quite different. Women are obviously killed if they basically have any part of their body exposed and their heads are not covered and if they basically they can’t do much of anything but stay hidden away. And so obviously that’s a lot of difference. Islam is very cruel and very demeaning especially to women. In Clearwater 4 that calls in, she leaves this off her question, please explain Luke 12.
This speaks of the time before Jesus returns. In verse 45, Jesus says, if that servant is saying his heart, my Lord the lay of his coming, he’ll be beaten with many stripes. What is that talking about? Well, we know that basically it’s saying if people say, well, the Lord’s not coming back for a long time. I’m just going to live as I please. And if you attempt to live as you please as a Christian, you will still go to heaven, but God will chase in you or discipline you.
And the many stripes here means he will definitely get your attention. And as we said a few moments ago, in 1 Corinthians 1130, the chase thing there involved being made weak and sickly and sometimes the Lord took these believers home to heaven. So if you’re going to live as you please and say, well the Lord isn’t going to come back for a long time, you won’t come back in my lifetime, I’m just going to do whatever I want. You can’t get away with that because the Lord is obviously aware of everything that you and I do and he’s not going to let you live as you please as a believer.
Yes, you’ll still go to heaven but she’ll never be lost or cast into hell. Cindy in Tampa, Florida calls in. She says, I know false preachers like Benny hand and others are scammers. Aren’t they still getting people to Jesus or are they preaching a different Jesus? And I believe the answer is they’re preaching a different Jesus. Benny hand believes there are nine members in the Trinity. His doctrines are really way out. There are many books that are exposing some of these teachings nowadays, but Benny Henn, I believe, is teaching falsely on almost every doctrine.
So you don’t want to be listening to him. Thank you, Cindy and Tampa. Sandy in Boonsville, New York, calls in, offers. She says, When they are saying peace and safety, all of a sudden sudden destruction comes. Where does that apply at the Rapture? Or does it apply on the Earth or later? That is talking about the event just prior to the Rapture. People will be saying peace and security. That will be the talk around the world. Then, boom, while they’re trying to solve the world’s problems and bring peace and security to the world, boom, the tribulation period will be underway, which is called a period of destruction.
And that sudden destruction will come as trivial upon a woman with child, and they’ll not escape. But it tells us there in verse 4, or 1st of the Saloonians chapter 5, that we are not of darkness that they should overtake us as a thief. So we should not be surprised. We should be watching for Christ’s return and not be surprised at all. We have an anonymous caller from Richmond, Virginia, and he says, if Jesus is God, is he talking to himself?
And the answer is yes. Jesus, of course, as a man prayed to the Father, And he often times did that so he would know what was going on. Otherwise we’d have no clue as to what was taking place. Let me give you an example. In Matthew chapter 11, here we have Jesus praying out loud to the Father, but notice what he says as he introduces this prayer. This is Matthew chapter 11, and it says here, at that time Jesus answered and said, I I thank the, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.
Well we find here that he is praying out loud, so that we could know what is taking place. And so he didn’t have to pray out loud, but here he is as a man praying to the Father, like you and I should learn from that example, and as God’s children by being born again, we pray to the Father. Grace, down in Son City Center, leaves this offer question. Please give preincarnate appearances of Jesus in Scripture in the Old Testament, please.
Well, there are many, Grace, and one of the prominent ones is Genesis 18. Abraham is sitting in the noon day in his tent. He is looking out, he sees three strangers walking toward him. If you read that passage carefully, one of them turns out to be Jesus, God himself, and the other two turn out to be the angels that went on to destroy Sodom, and first of course deliver Lot and his family out of that place. So that is certainly one right there.
We also have the angel of the Lord in chapter 16 appearing to Hagin Hagin. The angel of the Lord, in the Old Testament in every case, is a preincarnate appearance of Jesus Christ. And so Hagar saw Jesus. And we find God appearing to Jacob later in Genesis where we have the angel of the Lord wrestling with Jacob. He was wrestling with Jesus. And we find that he tells us he saw God. Jesus is God. And we know that he got saved and God changed his name that night from Jacob to Israel.
And Israel means child of God. And so Jesus actually appeared and we find that Jacob saw Jesus and believed on Jesus and became saved. That is absolutely incredible. And throughout the Old Testament you find so many of these appearances and it just is absolutely wonderful to see, isn’t it? That these things take place and God appears and shows himself alive so that they can see him way back there in Old Testament. Well that’s about all we can do for today.
