I think you’ll find that very interesting. We’re excited about the fact that Rasha Shana begins at sundown tonight here in the eastern time zone.

will be around six o’clock and this is of course the potential day for the rapture so the next 24 hours are exciting and of course here if we’re going by Israel time. They’re just about now at sunset and at noon here it’ll be sunset there and we’ll be into the Feast of Trumpets, which is the potential day for the Lord to come back. So I don’t know what your crisis is coming, but it becomes this year it’ll probably be in the next 24 or 48 hours and that’s exciting.

And all those living that are believers, will be caught up and they’ll be part of a group that will be exempted from death and they’ll never die. That’s right. There will be a group that will never die that will simply be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. We’re going to open our Bibles down. If you have your Bible, you might want to open with us and take a look at some passages in the Scriptures. But I want to turn to 1 Corinthians chapter 3 and talk a little bit about the judgment seat of Christ.

This is 1 Corinthians chapter 3 and we are going to begin in verse 11. It says here in 1 Corinthians 3, 11, for other foundation can no man lay than that which is laid which is Jesus Christ. We know that Christ is the rock. He is the foundation stone. The Bible is very clear that the church is built upon Christ, not Peter. The Old Testament talks about a tried stone, a precious stone, a foundation stone, a cornerstone. The Bible in the New Testament clearly identifies that Jesus Christ himself is that stone.

Many teach that Peter is the rock, and that certainly is not what Christ said and is not what the Bible teaches. Peter certainly understood that. He tells us in Acts chapter 4 when he talks about Jesus that Jesus is the stone. So Peter says, Jesus is a stone, not himself, and this is of course after Pentecost, after, long after Christ, that made the announcement about building his church upon the rock. And Peter says that Jesus is the stone, the rock upon which the church is built.

So the Bible itself becomes the best interpreter of the Bible, and there are many verses that point that out. And this is one of those great verses. For other foundation, 1 Corinthians 3 11 For other foundation, Kenoman lay, and that is laid which is Jesus Christ. So he’s the foundation stone, he’s the tried stone, the corner stone, the precious stone, the one that the Bible tells us that we are as believers built upon. And then it talks about us then building on that foundation of Christ.

This can only be talking about believers here because only believers have the foundation of Christ. Unbelievers are like in the parable that Christ gave in Matthew are built upon shifting sands, but we who are believers are built upon the rock. And of course, when judgment comes or when the storms come, the one who is built upon the rock will stand and the one who builds his house upon the shifting sands will be destroyed. And of course, it talks about Christ being that cornerstone, that rock upon which we we are built.

Now it says in verse 12 here, if any man built upon this foundation, and it mentions here six different kinds of building materials. Gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble. You’ll notice that the first three, if tried by fire, would be purified of anything, but would remain. The latter three would in stubble if tried by fire would be burn up and nothing but ashes would remain. Well, this is what is going to happen at this judgment where your works and my works will be represented by the materials that we built upon the foundation of Christ.

And the building materials refer to whether they were done for Christ and are things worthy of reward or whether they were done for self and are worthy of simply being burnt up. Verse 13 says, Every man’s work shall be made known. it shall be revealed by fire. And the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is. So the fire here doesn’t try the man, but it tries the works that the man has done. This is not a purgatory.

Some have tried to allude to this as being a reference to purgatory. There is no purgatory. There is no purgatory in my Bible, your Bible, the Catholic Bible, the Jewish Bible. There’s no purgatory period. Purgatory was invented and it’s a money-making doctrine because to believe in purgatory means that you have to pay money to have masses and prayers said to get those loved ones out of purgatory. If you’ve ever attended a mass, usually at the beginning, announce the different names of people for whom the masses being said.

And obviously they have to pay money to the church to have those masses set for that person and that’s to get them out of purgatory. What is interesting in Roman Catholic theology is that they have salvation confused and think it’s by works. And back in the dark ages, in the Middle Ages, we know that they thought that they had a bank. And those that did extra good works, like those that were monks and nuns and so on, put extra good works into that bank.

And if you were deficient as far as enough works to enter heaven, you could pay money to the church. This is called indulgence money. And the church would then transfer some of those extra good works to your account so you could actually pay your way out of purgatory or into heaven. obviously there’s no such thing as this you know john fkinity when he’s assassinated millions and millions of dollars were collected in indulgence money to get john fkinity out of purgatory of course there is no purgatory now there is no such thing there’s nothing in the bible it talks about that and of course this doctrine that uh…

there’s a bank of good works and if you’re deficient you can pay money in the church will transfer some of those extra good works your account is totally made up. There is nothing like that in the Bible. And the Bible here is very clear that this judgment here called the Judge of the City of Christ in 1 Corinthians chapter 3 is actually a judgment of the person’s works and the result will be reward or loss of reward. Notice it says in verse 14, if any man’s work shall abide, he shall receive a reward.

So you will be rewarded if any of your works remain. Then it says in verse 15, if any man’s works shall be burned, he shall suffer loss of reward, but he himself shall be saved, yet so has my fire. So even if you did nothing, zero, no works at all, and all of your works were burnt up at the judgment seat of Christ. The Bible says here that you would still be be saved because salvation is not by works at all.

Rewards though are. When we get to heaven, it’s because of what Christ did for us at the cross. It has nothing to do with anything that we do. The Bible says that Ephesians 2, 8, 4 by grace, or mercy, or unmerited favor, are you saved through faith in Christ? What Christ did for you at the cross is what purchased your salvation. The next phrase in Ephesians 2.8 says, the salvation is not of yourself. The next phrase says, the salvation is the gift of God.

The next phrase says, the salvation is not of works, lest any man should boast or brag. No one can ever brag and say, I deserve to be. He has been preserved to go to heaven because look at what I did. Because nothing you do will get you there so you can’t ever boast or brag and throughout the Bible. It tells us that God’s plan of salvation eliminates that is because we are saved by faith without works. And once you trust Christ, you are saved forever.

But then your works play an important role because they determine the degree of reward that you will receive in heaven. And that is quite clear here in this passage. Verse 14, if any man’s work of bind which you have built upon, the foundation of Christ that he builds upon, he shall receive a reward. reward. But if any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss, but he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire. So you’ll still be saved, even if every work you did was not for Christ or not for God.

You would still go to heaven. Isn’t that amazing? Obviously, this is contrary to the perseverance of the saints. The fifth point of Calvinism says that you, if you are elect or chosen by God, will persevere to the end of your life that your life will constantly be improving and there will be the evidence of good works in your life. Well, that’s a man-made doctrine and Calvin was wrong and those who believe that point are in error and certainly this verse refutes that.

This verse says, if you did nothing, zero for Christ, your entire life and at the judgment of Christ everything that you did were burnt up. He would suffer loss of reward, but it says, he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire. In other words, you get in with nothing, not even to close on your back. You just get in to heaven because of what Christ did for you, but there is no reward for you and there are degrees of reward in heaven.

The unbeliever will stand at a separate judgment that occurs a thousand years later and works will determine for the unbeliever the degree of punishment in hell. But unbelievers go to hell because they are unbelievers, because they reject Christ, the only unpardonable sin is that of unbelief or rejection of Christ. And so if you die without Christ, you will be forever lost. I am Dr. Hank Lindstrom, this is by the line. We are going to go to the phone lines and we invite you to call us at 1-800-576-3771.

We are first going to Gary in Tampa and Gary welcome to Bibleline your on the on the air. I’m still here. You’re on the air Gary we’re live. Go ahead with your question you’re on the air. Oh okay. First of all I want to thank you for your ministry and praise the Lord for that. Your ministry has been a very deep blessing to my family and I. A question has to do with the different versions of the Bible. I know that the King James version almost exclusively.

And I was wondering if there are other versions specifically the new King James version that is something that is reliable. I’m going to hang up and listen to your answer on the radio. Thank you and God bless you. Thank you Gary. I was hoping so. I heard about the New King James. I was hopeful that they would just change the archaic words and clean it up. But they went far beyond that. Actually the New King James has numerous problems.

We have a sheet that we can send out to if you want to call back and ask for that to be sent out to you. But the New King James, for example, on the cover, on the outside they use the pagan symbol of the Trinity. This same pagan symbol is used on the covers, for example, of Led Zeppelin recordings and different satanic groups use it and certainly it is not a Christian symbol. You would say why in the world would they ever stoop to that level to use that, but But also more damaging is actually what they have done within the text itself.

They have changed the meaning on numerous doctrines and they didn’t leave the text alone and that is what is disappointing. They’d only changed the words and brought them up to speed that would have been wonderful but the new came James did not. So I recommend you get this sheet. We also have a wonderful book in our resource center called the New Age Bible Versions which also exposes what has happened with the new King James version. I wish that it were different, but it’s not.

It’s a disappointment to me. I was hoping this might be the Bible that we could all enjoy andStatement, but they didn’t really do what they should have done. And as a result, we are stuck with another bad new translation. There’s a lot of bad ones out there, and you really have to be careful because they will mislead you subtly. That’s right. even like the new American Standard. It attacks the deity of Christ. It leaves out, you know, in John 647, that’s one of my favorite verses to witness with.

It says, verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me has everlasting life. Clear as a bell, John 647, in the King James. But you know, in the new American Standard, it says, he who believes has everlasting life. but it doesn’t say on whom you must believe. That’s meaningless. It’s amazing that they would drop the two key words, he the believeth on me. They leave out on me and it just simply says he who believes, believes what or in whom?

He doesn’t tell you. And of course this is an example of the fond work of the new American Standard. That phrase where Jesus says, get behind me satan totally left out of the new american standard uh… these bible for bad and i don’t recommend them i do recommend getting the book new age bible versions we have it somebody hundred pages long and it will really expose He said, I’m going to get you the word of God. We are going to Damon in Tampa, Florida.

And Damon, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Hello, Damon. You’re on the air. I had a question. It was 4-6. Okay. Hebrews 6, 4 through 6 is talking about believers who fall away from their confidence, their steadfastness, their service to the Lord, but you cannot fall from salvation. Now what it’s saying is if you get away from serving the Lord, it’s impossible for you to go back and become saved again. It says it is not possible for those who are in the names of five things that point out that these are genuinely saved believers that we’re talking about.

And it says if they fall away, that’s falling away, you know, Peter uses that phrase, falling from your steadfastness, falling from your confidence. your confidence, Hebrews uses it about our assurance, falling from that full assurance and how that affects our service. And it’s saying here, if you fall away, it’s impossible to renew you again under repentance. That’s the change of mind that occurs when you get saved. If you attempt to be saved again, it says in verse 6 of Hebrews chapter 6 that you are crucifying Jesus Christ all over again to yourself and you’re putting him to an open shame.

So this is really a blasphemy against Christ when you actually attempt to go back and become saved again because once you’re saved, you’re saved forever. That’s the whole point. So what you need to do is get serving again. You’ll notice in verse 9 it says we’re talking about things that accompany salvation. 10 says it is not in righteous to forget your labor of love, whatever you do, forgot to be remembered and rewarded. And so it says get busy, start serving the Lord again.

Verse 12 says don’t be slothful. That’s like a sloth. It doesn’t move very fast and doesn’t accomplish a whole lot. And a lot of Christians are like sloths and therefore they’re slothful. Well, we need to be active and busy in serving the Lord and we’ll earn rewards and it’s not talking about loss of salvation. If it were, then it would meet if you ever lost it. You could never get it back, which is not the meaning. I remember one lady told me that this passage said you could lose your salvation.

And I asked her, I said, have you ever lost yours? And she said, yes, she had lost it seven times. I said, oh, is that right? And I put on my very sad face and I said, oh, man, my heart goes out to you. She said, why? I said, I feel so badly for you. She says, why? I said, I just don’t know what to say. You’ve just left me speechless. He said, why? I said, because you’re going to hell and there’s nothing I can do about it, nothing you can do about it.

According to this verse, if it means you can lose your salvation, you can never get it back. Oh, ma’am, I just am sorry for you. I just, my heart goes out. And then all of a sudden she changed her tune and said she said she came close to losing it, but never really lost her salvation. Well, isn’t that interesting? because the Savior hide, she just changed her whole statement about whether she had lost it or not. But it’s not saying that you lose your salvation.

It’s saying you can fall away from serving the Lord, and if you do, it’s impossible to become saved again. You need to go back and start serving again. So Damon, I hope that helps. Okay, thank you. You’re welcome. That was Damon in Tampa, Florida. And if you go to the internet and go to my website, BibleLineMinistries.org, click at the bottom right hand corner, Dr. Lindstrom’s articles, and I’ve written an article on Hebrew 6 under that title, and I think you’ll find that helpful.

We’re going to Nancy now in Fort Myers, Florida, and Nancy, welcome to Bible End. Oh, hi, Pastor Hank. My husband and I really enjoy your program, and we’re monthly supporters. And my question is, this last week Osama bin Laden’s message, the transcript says, you know, it’s a plea to be converted to Islam. And it’s quite peaceful, quite enticing. And this was ironic, you know. He said that we acknowledge Allah on our dollars, which is ironic because all the U.S.

dollars So that was saying that in the God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Jesus do we trust. But anyway, do you? I think that this is, he’s obeying the Koran to try to convert people before he, he came with the sword. I’m going to hang up and listen to your answer on the radio. I think absolutely you’re right and that’s of course apparently their mindset is to ultimately kill us. But to give us warning that we can convert to Islam first, of course why would we want to do that?

Obviously Islam is a murderous and hateful religion and also it is a False religion, you know Allah is the moon God and when they pray they pray to the moon That’s right if you look at every prayer cow or every minaret wherever you go They have a little crescent moon at the very top because their God Allah is the moon God and they’re praying to the moon the Bible forbids worshiping the sun, the moon and the stars. And obviously, this is totally in error.

And the Bible obviously exposes it as being wrong. Islam came along 600 years after Christ. And obviously, is a false religion that Satan has raised up, that absolutely is an enemy of Christianity. It attacks the death of the burial and resurrection of Christ. Islam says that Jesus is not the Son of God. He did not pay for the sins of the world. He did not rise again from the dead and attacks the very heart of the Christian belief system of the gospel message of Jesus Christ.

Obviously these people themselves need to get saved and they need to trust Jesus as Savior or when they die they will truly experience the eternal health. We are at the break time here so we’re going to take a short break. We’re going to come back and do a second half hour of Bibleline and I certainly hope that The Bibleline, and I certainly hope that you’ll stay tuned and don’t change that radio dial as we take a break and we’ll be right back.

How are you there and happy new year to you? Good morning, I’m Mr. Keynote. That means peace in the name of our Messiah Jesus. Amen. That’s great. So what’s going on? You have a question for us or you want to share some of us? Well, I’ll show a little bit about Russia’s shut off the head of the year.

It’s the seventh month of the Hebrew calendar, yet Jews around the world are celebrating a new year. And this really is in a contradiction. The fact is that the Lord spoke to Israel when they were released from bondage of Egypt and said that Nithyan the spring month or a beeb when the Bali is ripe will be their first month and he changed the calendar. So actually the seventh month is when God originally created and also it’s when Israel returned properly nationally from Babylon.

It’s a beautiful thing because around the world in every synagogue they’re reading the same passage. At Stenasus 22 the Akeda, the binding of Isaac. And it’s a fabulous picture of the father offering up the son as an Atonement offering. And the book of Hebrews tells us that figuratively speaking, Nitzkaht Isaac was raised from the dead. So on the feast of trumpets, Yom Thrua, Rosh Hashanah, the seventh month, the seventh trumpet, is when we’ll see resurrection. And because the nation of Israel was resurrected, corporately and nationally after 70 years, Captainia Babylon in 70 years is the right span of the man, and the whole nation was cut out from God, and temple and the access to the holy of holy for 70 years.

So Russia, Shana, Yom Trua is such a powerful, important time, and it also announces the 10 days of law between Russia, Shana and Yom Kippur, the day of atonement. That’s wonderful. And you know, it’s a shame that a lot of people are ignoring the Old Testament where really all of the types and pictures and forecasting of the future are given and fulfilled in the New Testament. And the fact is, I don’t understand why the Gentiles who fought from God without God in this world, they were brought here because they were blasted into and became partakers in the covenants of Israel.

And we’ve replaced the beauty of the Passover with the Feast of Ishtar with the Spring Solstice Festival that we replaced the four festivals with other traditions of men. And we won’t be hanging, stacking, for Santa when the ward returns. He’s got to come back and establish his kingdom. And I just want to exhort and encourage those people out they were hadn’t looked at the festivals of Yahweh, they are God’s festivals given to us the times that we will be called into its presence.

They had beautiful significance, the beautiful pictures of Messiah, and they all are fulfilled in Christ. The spring festivals were fulfilled in its first coming, and the four festivals will be fulfilled in the second coming, so we’ve got to get ready. Amen. Well, I certainly am in agreement with you, Stephen. We thank you so much for sharing as a Jewish believer in Christ. A Messianic Jew, thank you so much for sharing that with us today. We are living, of course, we believe close to the Lord’s return when these last feast days will be fulfilled as they forecast the end of this present age, the rapture, the tribulation period, and the millennial kingdom of Christ.

We now have anonymous anonymous. That means he is anonymous and we don’t know the city from which anonymous is anonymous, so it’s anonymous and anonymous and welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes, how you doing this morning? Zachariah chapter 5 verse 3, the strong concordance says that the word perse there has translated this Allah. Tell me your thoughts on that one chapter and I’ll listen on the radio. Gordon said, all right, thank you very much. I was not familiar with that.

I know that in Daniel 911 that word is Allah from the Hebrew and it’s probably all a coincidence but it is fascinating. Now in prophecy that we’re living at such a time that Allah and Islam is a curse and certainly has been laden came on TV again this weekend raddling the sword a little bit and warning us all to convert to Islam. We’re faced with Islam certainly being a curse to the world. Well in verse 3 it says, then he said to me, this is the curse.

You’re absolutely right. There’s that word curse and I haven’t looked it up here. I’m sure it must be the same Hebrew word Allah, which may be a reference to Islam. It says going forth over the face of the whole earth. And obviously that’s an interesting application of this verse. Actually I believe what is talking about here is that God’s word which curses all of those who break it will condemn everybody on the earth that has not received Christ as or Savior when Jesus comes back into the Second Coming.

I think that’s the primary meaning, but that’s a very interesting verse. I’m glad you brought it up and certainly has an application here that Islam is spreading everywhere. I was just talking to somebody this week that a lot of people in England are just leaving. They’re just leaving because it’s so horrific to be living there today because of Islam’s presence and they’re gaining more power every day and Christians and others are being persecuted in England so they’re just leaving the country.

Isn’t that scary? Wow, what a country that had such a beautiful history, biblically, especially during the the Reformation now being persecuted. He is not being real nice and to say it’s peaceful is certainly not the case at all. Thank you Mr. Anonymous. I certainly think that was a great addition here to the program today. We’re now going to go to Adam and Adam is in Tampa, Florida. And Adam, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Yes, sir. My question is from John chapter 3 in verse 11.

It says, truly, truly I say you, we speak of what we know and bear witness to what we have seen, but you do not receive our testimony. What does the we in the hour mean? What did he just say, I speak instead of we in hour? Okay, let me just take a look at I’m going to John through 3 right now. I’m almost there and I Think it’s talking about We in the human race. This is what as we observe things We we speak what we know and what we’ve seen and But Christ here of course is telling you that as you examine the evidence He says I tell you earthly things in verse 12 and you believe not How should you believe if I tell you of heavenly things?

I love that verse because the Bible is accurate when it tells us about earthly things and it is therefore a confirmation of what Christ tells us and what God tells us in the Bible about heavenly things are also true. If the Bible is true about all the earthly prophecies and accuracies and the areas of science and history and everything else that it’s always right on about, then it’s reasonable assume that you can make the leap and what it tells us about heaven and about hell and about eternity are also equally true.

So I think it’s talking about an all-inclusive of all of us who just speak what we know, what we’ve learned, what we’ve heard. And when you read the Scriptures and see the earthly things that Christ spoke and you’re aware of them and are to have knowledge of them and believe them, he says how much more you ought to be able to believe me concerning the things which you cannot prove and put in the test tube and demonstrate that is heaven and hell and the things of eternity.

Adam, thank you very much. It was a great question and I appreciate that. Let’s go to Katrina and Katrina is down in Ruskin, Florida and Katrina, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Katrina? Yes. You’re on the air. Hi, Dr. Mr. How are you? Good. I’ve got my question I’ve been worshiping with my fiancĂ© in a Pentecostal church, I’m actually Catholic by both a significant idea either. And I don’t feel quite comfortable. I’m not really sure. Maybe you touch bases as far as their belief system.

Okay, well, you shouldn’t be comfortable because they believe you can lose your salvation. So you are forever left uninsured. And that’s Because it’s all by works. Anybody who teaches works for salvation leaves you unassured of your salvation because you can’t be sure until after you die because you have to wait until all your life is over and then all your works are waiting to scale. That is not biblical. The Bible tells us that Jesus did the work of salvation and paid for our sins in total at the cross.

And when we trust Him, we receive at the moment we believe eternal life and Christ makes the promised numerous times. He never casts the sound, he never loses, that we’re saved forever. Plus, they practice many things which are not biblical. Tongues has gone. The gift of healing is gone. I believe God heals when it’s within his will to do so today, but I don’t believe in divine healers. I believe in divine healing, but not in divine healing. So I believe that movement has ceased.

These were temporary gifts that God gave until the completion of the New Testament. Since then, these things are not happening. I think if you really observe carefully, you don’t see people today being raised from the dead. You don’t see sight being given to the blind. I’ve got blind people in my church. If I knew some healer that could give them sight, I would drive them or fly them there myself. But there is nobody that can give sight to the blind or hearing to the deaf.

It’s amazing. Most of the modern healers actually injure people or hurt people. I have a lady from my church here that against her son’s advice went to see Benny Hinn last year. She was sliding in the spirit, fell back and broke her arm between her shoulder and her elbow and she still has problems. She was screaming in pain and they told her to shut up and they dragged her out of the meeting. there I would have dragged her to the stage and said to Benny Hinn you broke her arm, you heal it.

But they dragged her out of the meeting. Why didn’t they take her up front and get her healed? If they can really do it, they can’t heal. They took her out of the meeting and obviously this dear woman is still suffering from that mistake of going to a meeting like that. I think you’re in the wrong church and you need to get out of there and that’s why you feel uncomfortable. I know that you’re out here in Tampa. You’re quite far from me.

Can you recommend a more like in the Brandon and between the Brandon and the area? Okay. If you’ll call me after the program is over, I’ll do that otherwise I’ll just do it off the air with you. Call back in about a half hour. Alright, well thank you Katrina and certainly you need to be looking for a sound Bible Church. We have an article that I’ve written called Beliefs That Matter, 25 Basic Doctors at Every Sound Church, Aut to Embrace.

And as you go looking, maybe you could take this article and check out the doctor. Every church should have some kind of printed statement of faith. You ought to ask for that. And check out the key points about what they believe about heaven, about hell, about the scriptures, about the Trinity, about the deity of Christ, about salvation by faith and about eternal security. Can you lose your salvation? These are vital questions as well as the rapture, the tribulation and second coming heaven and hell and so on.

Check it out and make sure that you’re in a doctorately sound church. We’re gonna go down to Troy and he is in the land, Florida. Troy, welcome to the Bible and you’re on the air. Good morning pastor. Dr. Quick question in the first Samuel, And once all with the indoor, and he brought the, could you explain that for, was that, was that actually Samuel or what really happened there? Okay. That was, that was really Samuel. And that was an exception.

People that died, don’t come back from the dead. And even the medium there was shocked that she screamed bloody murder. It frightened her because actually the earth opened up and he came up out of paradise out of the heart of the earth. And of course he tells Saul what’s going to happen the next day that both he and his two sons are going to die and that they were going to join Samuel in paradise in the heart of the earth.

So we know that Saul was saved, but this was a real experience and God of course got his attention with that. But this was the exception. Don’t go to mediums because it’s forbidden. And most times are all the time, except for this, you’ll have an angel, a demon, one of Satan’s angels impersonate your dead relative and so you’re really going to be totally misled. It’s forbidden for the Christian to do this. It was forbidden for Saul but God in this one case allowed Samuel to come back from the dead to tell him that he was dead meat that he was going to die in the battle with the Philistines the next day and that’s exactly what happened.

So Troy I hope that helps. Okay thank you. Alright, that was Troy in the land Florida and we’re now going to run in Largo, Florida and run welcome to Bibleline Hello, Ron, I don’t hear Ron so we’ll have to see if we can’t get Ron back on the line We’re now going to go to John in Ruskin, Florida John welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air Good morning, Dr I’m gonna be a little quick on this I’m sure this question has been asked numerous times and here I go as you know many Pentecostals and evangelicals state that you first have to accept the Lord Jesus Christ and your baptize in water and then your baptize by the Spirit where you speak tongues.

Now I know you spoken about Paul with tongues or ceased etc but I would like for you to go over this topic. In other words the Pentecost evangelicals believe that you have to accept the Lord, be baptize the water and then you also have to baptize by the spirit if not you lose your salvation. Now you say you also let you don’t lose your salvation. So I was wondering if you can comment that and I’m going to hang up.

Thank you. Okay John and the truth is that every believer is baptized with the Holy Spirit at the moment of belief. Write it down. 1 Corinthians 1213 says, by one spirit are we all, A-L-L, baptized into one body? Whether we be Jew or Gentile, bond or free, we have all been made to drink into one spirit. The result is that you have been taken by the Holy Spirit and placed into Christ’s body. Verse 27 of 1 Corinthians 12 tells us the result.

It says, Right Now, NOW, NOW, You are the body of Christ and members of the particular. So John at the moment of belief, you’re taken by the Holy Spirit, placed into the body of Christ. That is the baptism of the Holy Spirit. And so God sees you from the moment of belief as in Christ. And that phrase is used throughout the entire New Testament and has deep meaning. Because it means that when Christ was crucified, you were crucified because God saw you in Christ’s body.

nailed her to the cross. So that’s why you could know you’re saved and know you’re safe forever because God saw you dying on the cross as Christ your substitute died in your place you were seen in Christ’s body and therefore God saw you crucified there on the cross 2000 years ago when Christ was buried Romans chapter 6 tells us that you were buried also because God saw you in Christ’s body. When Christ rose from the dead, Romans 6, it tells us that you were raised from the dead because God saw you in Christ’s body.

When Christ ascended back to heaven, you ascended back to heaven with Christ. And according to Ephesians 2, 6, you are right now seated in Christ at the right hand of the Father. So right now, positionally, you are already in heaven. To be lost, you would have to be taken out of the body of Christ or a part of the body of Christ would have to be severed. How could that happen? How could anybody get a saw or an ax and chop off a part of the body of Christ?

Because that’s the only way you could ever become lost, John. But the gift of tongues was a temporary gift given to the early church to evangelize, but is no longer necessary. And the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 13, 8, that it would come to an utter and complete The word cease there in the Greek means to come to an utter complete hall. We have a wonderful book in our resource center here called New Testament Teacher on Tongues by Merle Unger.

This book absolutely slam dunks the whole tongues movement by executing the scripture in chapter 12, 13 and 14 of Corinthians showing that tongues were deceased and did cease when the New Testament record was completed at the end of the first century. And so there’s just a lot of bad teaching out there and water, of course, has nothing to do with your salvation at all. Whether your water baptized or not will not affect your salvation. But it is something that we are to do as obedient Christians and as a blessing and as rewards, I’m sure, involved when you are obedient and will do as the Lord has asked.

baptized people all the time. We just had a large baptism a few weeks back where we placed people fully under the water, immersed them as a testament. They’ve been cleansed and are sinned by the blood of Jesus Christ, but they’re not saved by the water. So I hope that helps a little bit John and I think John probably hung up in his listening affair. So thank you John if not, call back and we’ll try to to cover that a little more extensively, but the teaching on the baptism and Holy Spirit is flawed in most circles.

It is an act that occurs for every believer at the moment of belief. We’re now going to Ron in Largo, Florida, and Ron, welcome to Babylon. Hello. If you go by any of the name besides Paul, I know he was Saul one time. That’s it. Paul is the one who used to be Saul. renamed him and he is I believe the replacement apostle for Judas and became the apostle to the Gentiles and but that’s the only name I know him by.

In chapter 16 verse 22 it says I well you know Paul had an eye problem and he did use secretaries to he would transcribe it too so that could really be true that he was the man who actually put the pen and ink to the to the parchment, but Paul was the author. Okay. Thank you very much. You’re very welcome, Ron. And so Paul talks about his eye problem twice in the book of Galatians where he said that he was so passionate about writing the book of Galatians that he personally wrote it, and he talked about how large the letters were because of his eye problem.

They were giant letters and he really with great labor and effort personally transcribed the relation letter himself. But most of the others were transcribed to somebody else who sat down the record on paper. While we have so many questions and we’ll try to take this last one because we’re out of time, but Dave and St. Pete, welcome to Bible On. Yes. You’re on the air. Am I on the air? Yes, you are. Yes, Dr. Lindstrom. Yes. Yes. Hi. Yesterday, today’s show, you’ve been talking about Islam quite a bit.

Just have a little food for thought to listeners. You know, back in Isaiah 14, Lucifer had the eye trouble. The eye will send a heaven. Yes. I will be like a great God. And then back and back in Moses and Exodus, God was known by God. I am I am yes his name was Well, just food from Todd. Do you look if you look at? at Islam And know that Satan always wants to be God Did you stay? Satan Lucifer am oh my goodness That’s interesting.

Thank you for sharing that with us and we’ve got to run but Islam really is a I am Satan and he’s the I am. Wow, he wants to take God’s place for sure. We’re out of time. We’ll be back tomorrow. We know we have people around the world listening, but also many are missionaries. If you have a missionary that you support, would you write them or email them and let them know about Bibleline? I believe that many of them would really be encouraged to hear the word of God presented here on the Bible and programs in their land. 609 We know that people are listening that are missionaries that really do benefit around the world from Japan, from Korea, from Nigeria, and African, many countries around the world are checking us out.

In Norway, we have a young man who listens and gets materials to teach Bible studies and evangelize in Norway. That’s exciting. We’re hearing more and more from people around the world that are enjoying the Bible and programs. You can certainly help us, pray for us. We need your financial help as well if you could give a gift call in and leave one by phone or get an envelope from us to mail in or just ask for our address and we’ll be happy to send that.
