We’re going to talk about the Bible for a few minutes here. We’ve been talking about repentance. This is a tragic thing that people have repentance wrong. The Greek word, as we have said, is metanoia. M-E-T-A, metamines change. N-O-I-A means mind. The two words together metanoia mean a change of mind. This is the word that is translated Repent in the New Testament almost in every case. When you read through the book of Acts in particular, you find that when Peter said Repent, he’s telling his audience to change their mind and to recognize who Christ is.

Most of those in the book of Acts did not believe that Jesus was the Messiah and they rejected him and he tells them that they need to change their mind and to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved. So repentance is not turning from sin. That’s for sure. What is interesting is that in the Old Testament, the word repent occurs 43 times and the word is mostly used of God repenting. That was so fascinating to me to discover.

When I looked up each of these words, it is said that, well, 37 of the 43 times that the word is repenting is not repenting. The word repent occurs in the Old Testament. It is God who does repenting. And so what does that mean? If you do the math, 37 divided by 43, that’s 86% of the time. It’s God who repents. Now think about that. If you have God repenting and your definition for repent is the turn from sin, then you’ve got a big theological problem.

You’ve got a holy, sinless God who is turning from his sin left and right throughout the Old Old Testament. Think about it. The word repent occurs 43 times in the Old Testament and 37 of the 43 times it’s God who does the repenting. Only six times it is man that repents in the Old Testament. Can you imagine God turning from his sin? It’s impossible. That is a sinless holy god, he cannot sin. He is incapable of sinning, and yet God is the one who does the repenting.

So therefore it cannot mean turning from sin. Usually that causes people to stop and reflect when they think about that, but it’s quite fascinating. You can get my word study on this. It’s an article that I’ve written and will send it up to you free if you need this study for yourself. I give you the Hebrew Old Testament origin of repent and the New Testament words that are translated to repent and demonstrate that repentance in the Bible is simply a change of mind.

Nowhere does it ever say that it’s turning from sin or a change in your behavior or your life in order to be saved. When you change your mind and trust Jesus Christ as your Savior, you become saved. In my case, it was a change of mind about salvation. I always was taught salvation was by works. I discovered that salvation was not of works, Ephesians 2 and 9. I changed my mind about that. I never knew that Jesus was God until the night I got saved.

that night I was shown from the Bible that Jesus Christ was God in flesh and that was a big revelation for me and I changed my mind about that and I trusted Christ as being God who took on human flesh and died on the cross and paid for our sins on the cross of Calvary. Well I hope you have repented again let me go over the phrase we went over yesterday if you I you could repent without believing but you cannot believe without repenting.

In other words, you can change your mind about Christ. You can change your mind about God. You can change your mind about the Bible. You can change your mind about a lot of things, but not believe on Christ, not trust Him as your Savior, but you cannot believe without repenting. In other words, you can’t trust Christ without having changed your mind from what have you previously trusted in the trusting in Christ. It’s a part of the process. Let me give you a great verse here.

It’s 2 Corinthians 519. It tells us what we’re to include in our witness. And it says here, to wit. That means it’s old English. It means that it’s to witness. Or this is what we are to witness when we testify about Christ. It says to wit that God was in Christ. That’s number one. Jesus Christ is God and that doctrine is taught throughout the Bible. All the cults deny the deity of Christ, and many people are raised in different denominations that are, as I was, never told that Jesus Christ was God or claimed to be God.

Secondly, it says here, reconciling the world unto Himself. That’s the difference between the Bible and religion. Religion tells us that we reconcile ourselves to God. You see, religion comes from a Latin word, actually two Latin words, re- and ligio, and it means to do something of self to bind back to God. So all religions are based on works, and obviously all religions are false, and you’ll find that even the Christian counterfeit is a religion, it’s called the Christian religion, which is salvation based upon works.

Most churches teach works are required for your salvation. But the Bible tells us that our salvation is not based upon our works, that it’s not what we do for God that saves us. It’s what God did for us in Christ that brings about our salvation. And here it says it so nicely in 2 Corinthians 5, 19, to wit, or that is to say that God was in Christ, that God was Christ, or rather God is Christ, or God is indwelling Christ, that He is the God-man.

reconciling the world unto himself, and then it says here thirdly, not imputing their trespasses unto them. And that’s the most amazing of all. In other words, he’s not charging your sins against you. This is where the wrong definition of repentance is so violated because God is not sending you to hell because of your sins, because Christ died and paid for every sin that you would ever commit past, present and future when he died at the cross. There is only one sin that you are held accountable for.

And that is the sin of unbelief. And so here the Bible tells us three things that we should witness when we witness for Christ. Jesus Christ is God, number two that he does the reconciling, not us. He reconciles the world unto himself, not the world reconciles themselves to God. And thirdly, he does not impute or charge our sins against us. So that’s amazing, absolutely amazing. And even in John 16, which is so amazing, where Christ tells us about the Holy Spirit’s ministry in this world, it tells us the Holy Spirit would come and he would reprove the world or convict the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment.

In verse 9, what amazing thing I discovered here is it says of sin because they believe not on me. You see, the only sin that can cause a person to go to hell is to reject Christ. And it is that sin that the Holy Spirit convicts the lost person of. So the Holy Spirit comes along and convicts the lost person of the sin of unbelief. He’s not holding your other sins against you. Isn’t it amazing? It really is amazing and it tells us that our sins are all forgiven They’re all paid for but if you die without Christ You’ll stand before God accountable for those sins because you reject the only provision that he’s made for your sins Jesus Christ paid for all of your sins.

He’s not charging them against you I used to hear so much preaching as a young child that if you did this you’d go to hell if you did that you’d go to hell If you didn’t stop doing this you’d go to hell if you didn’t start knowing this you’d go to hell I just figured by the time I was a high school senior I’m probably going to go to hell. I never, never knew that that was wrong preaching because God is not charging our sins against us.

They’re paid for. And the only sin that the Holy Spirit is convicting the world of is the sin of unbelief because they believe not on me. It says in John 16, and here we have in 2 Corinthians 5 19, what an amazing verse that God is not imputing their trespasses, their sins against them. Jesus took them all, nailed them across, and paid for them. Now there is only one sin that will cause you to go to hell. What is it?

The sin of unbelief. Let me quote John 3 18. Jesus said, he the belief of unChrist is not condemned. But he the belief of not is condemned already. Here is the reason why are you ready? Are you ready? Are you ready? John 3 18, because he is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. So it is unbelief that causes a person to go to hell. It is not at all something an issue about your sins.

They have already been paid for it. And then of course we ought to live for Christ and God can give you the power to have victory for sin as a Christian. But we are not saved by turning from sin. a human work and would violate the financialization throughout the New Testament. We’re not saved by working or changing or promising or giving or joining or confession or anything you can list. There’s only one sin that will condemn you to hell, John 3 18, unbelief or rejection of Christ.

And to repent means to change your mind from whatever you’ve been taught to believe on Christ alone as your only hope of heaven. Well, I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. This is Bibleline. We’re going to go ahead and go to the phone lines. If you’d like to call us for numbers 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to Jim. And Jim is in Tampa, Florida. And Jim, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the line. Good morning, pastor. Good morning. I’ll take a question, but I’ll take it off the air.

Well, first Timothy 2, 11 through 15, tells us that women are not to be preachers. They’re not to usurp the authority of the men and not to be teachers of the word. God gave that position to the men. And he gives you two reasons why in first Timothy 2, 5, 2, 11 through 15. It says there in that passage that Adam was created first, then Eve. So in order to follow the chain of command that God has left. A man was given that responsibility.

A woman was created second, so she does not have that responsibility. And then secondly, because women are more easily deceived in spiritual matters, men think more logically and think more based upon fact, where women think more emotionally. And so Eve, it says in that passage, was deceived when Satan came along, but Adam was So that’s the second reason is that women usually go straight doctorally because they think emotionally and they’ll overrule the Bible. And a lot of cults have been founded by women and they go doctorally on the sound.

And in fact the last day church in the book of Revelation, the one that is the apostate church of the tribulation period, is called the woman, the woman, the woman, the woman in Revelation 17. So it’s clear whenever you see a woman involved in religion, it usually is a band sign because generally it tells you it’s full doctrine and usually goes that way. I don’t know if a sound good woman Bible teacher today, they all seem to be very flawed and you have to listen carefully.

Joyce Myers, for example, says she hasn’t sinned at all, not one sin for the past ten years. one sin. Well, my Bible says in 1 John 1 8, if we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. So I believe Joyce is deceiving herself, and is making a claim that it’s not true. She says she has not sinned at all in 10 years. That’s what happens when you get women preachers and they go astray.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg of what her theology is, is concerning hers versus the Bible. It’s wrong. Thank you, Jim. I hope that helps. That was Jim in Florida. I mean, Tampa, Florida. We have Heather now in Largo, Florida. Heather, welcome to the Bible. And you’re on there. Hi. I have a question. I was raised Catholic. And after a couple of years in high school, I left the church. And just recently, in the past five years, I started going to a non-denominational church.

And I was brought to my attention, I mean as a Catholic I never read the Bible. And it was brought to my attention that they have a different Bible. The Catholics have a different Bible than I guess the Protestants. And I was wondering what is the difference in the Bibles and do all the Protestant religions have used the same Bible? And what gave the Protestants the authority to change the Bible? Something happens to you. That’s a good question. Actually, the Bible is not very different at all.

Simply, the Catholic Bible is distorted a little bit because it is a translation of a translation. Jerome translated in the fourth century the Bible from the Greek in Hebrew, which was richly written into the Latin language. the Catholic Bible has been a translation from the Latin into the English, and so you go really one step away from the original languages. The King James Bible was translated down to the original Hebrew and Greek languages directly into English, so it is much closer rendering, but there’s really no difference except that the Catholic Church has added about 14 books to the Old Testament, but it doesn’t really matter because they don’t affect any doctrine whatsoever.

But when God, because of Israel’s disobedience, went through the prophets, God did not speak for about 500 years. We call them the silent years. And at the close of the Old Testament, the 500 years or 400 and something years until Christ came, God was silent. There was no more scripture written. There were histories of the Jewish people written and those books. This is a book called, The Apocryphal Books where declared scripture by the Roman Catholic Church in the council of Trent in 1554.

And that was about 2000 years late. You know, if they had been scripture, they should have been added as they were written, as all the other books of the Bible were accepted as they were written as being God’s Word. In other words, when Moses wrote because he was a prophet of God immediately. His writings were considered the Word of God and they were put into the collection that was placed into the Ark and the Covenant, it was considered the Word of God, and each successive prophet and so on, as they wrote, they were accepted as God’s Word.

But here were books that were never accepted by the Jews as being inspired as scripture because they were not given by a prophet, and they weren’t accepted for 2,000 years, and then the Catholic Church comes along and declares them to be scripture. I think that’s wrong, but it doesn’t matter because it doesn’t change any doctrine that you and I believe. So there’s really no difference. I usually take my Catholic Bible, and I have about 5 or 6 of them, when I try to talk to a Roman Catholic, I lead them to Christ out of their own Bible.

Because Ephesians 2, 8, 9 are very clear in the Catholic Bible. It says, 4 by grace, you have been saved through faith. So the tense is even better because in the King James, it doesn’t read quite like clear as to the tense of what’s occurring there. This is before by grace you have been saved through faith and this salvation is none of yourself. It is the gift of God, not as the outcome of works that the man should boast.

A little bit different, but right on. Same teaching, a little different wording, but it’s great. So there’s no problem with the Bible. It’s a problem with people who don’t read their Bible and people don’t apparently believe the Bible. So it’s not a matter of what Bible you have so much as it is. Do you read your Bible and do youResidents? Now, because they’re Catholic, I’m just wondering because most of my family is. Does that mean that because Mary is such a prominent figure, are they going to hell because they also pray to Mary or?

Well, they’re going to hell because they don’t trust Christ as their Savior. You know, most Catholics, if you ask them, are you a Christian, they’ll say, I’m Roman Catholic. So they tell you right up front that they don’t claim to be Christian, they claim to be Roman Catholic. Number two is that they, if you ask them, uh, Jesus Christ, they’ll all say, yes, of course. But if you ask them, are you trusting Christ alone as the only means of your reaching heaven they’ll say no.

Because the Roman Catholic teaches that they are the means of salvation and so Catholic is trusting the church to get them to heaven. Through the sacch, through the obedience to the church, going to Mass and so on, the Catholic is earning his way to heaven. So they are not trusting Christ, that’s the major issue. So praying to Mary is a sidebar, but trusting Christ is the only means of salvation. You know the Catholic believes they have to go to Mass to have their sins forgiven up until they go back to Mass again.

And so it’s an incremental salvation step by step from Mass to Mass. You get your sins forgiven and when you die you have the priests come and say the last The Bible is not the same as the last rites, which takes care of those last few sins since the last mass. All of that is unscriptural and not difficult. Unfortunately they’re trying to get into heaven through the Church not through Christ. Christ said, I am the way the truth and the life.

No man comes unto the Father but by me, John 14, 6. So Christ is the Savior. Peter even said that next, 4, 12, He said neither is their salvation any other for there’s none other name under heaven Give it among men whereby we must be saved. It’s only through Christ that you can be saved and even Peter made that very clear They want to Catholic Church wants to climb Peters the first Pope They need to go back and listen to what Peter said because Peter said that neither is their salvation any other except for the Catholic Church It’s neither is their salvation than any other but in the name of Jesus Christ.

He is the only Savior Okay, well thank you. You’re welcome. I hope that helps and I was raised in a Protestant church, but it wasn’t much difference. I was trusting what the church told me about working my way toDoughed. That would get me there. I was taught wrong. You have to go back and see what the Bible says and the Bible tells us there is a Savior, but a lot of people say they believe in Christ. That means they accept the fact that he existed but have not trusted him as their savior we’re now going to david in clear water and david welcome to bible on your own ear yes hello yeah you’re on the air among you are near what is your question uh…

my question is that i related to uh… The 14th chapter in the 24th walk first where there’s a… Women keep silence in the churches. Yes, what does exactly doesn’t mean where a woman keeps silence because they’ve not… in other scriptures they say, prophesy. So I’m trying to choose what exactly does that mean? Well, it means that they were to keep silence. Actually, the men were in authority and the women were to keep silence. It says the same thing in 1 Corinthians, rather in 1 Timothy 2 that we mentioned earlier, and that men were to be the spiritual leaders.

The women were to remain silent, unless given permission to speak. And otherwise they were not to say anything, not a word. So that’s not being enforced today. And if that were enforced in the tongues movement today, it would die because mostly women are doing the gibberish and if they were told that they couldn’t do that in church, the whole movement would die. It’s unfortunate, but that’s what’s going on. By the way, we’re coming up on our break. We have to take a break.

We’ll come back and do a second half hour of Bibleline. Thank you for tuning in today. Again, pray for Bibleline. If you want to help Bibleline, we could use your help. You can send a gift by mail or give one by credit card over the phone if you want to call and give a gift to Bible and keep us going on the air here. We’re going to take a break right now. We’ll come back and do a second and a half hour.

So keep you ready right there. Don’t change that now. I’ll be right back in just a moment. The way Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom, and this is Bibleline, and it’s great to be with you today. again for tuning in. We look forward to being with you every day, Monday through Friday. And we hope that you’ll tell your friends about the program and help them discover us.

By the way, you can tell your friends that live anywhere in the world because if they have internet access, they can listen to this program in Israel, in Egypt, in South Africa in China in Japan and we do have missionaries in Japan, North Korea, South Korea and many other countries that do listen to Bibleline. We met, it was a wonderful experience, we went to Israel in March and we had a great experience and we met some folks from Nigeria, I invited them to come to the hotel for my evening Bible study and about 40 of them came.

Some of them said he listened to Bibleline on the internet in Nigeria. I said to myself, what an amazing day. Here I traveled to Israel, he travels to Israel, we meet and he’s a listener to Bible Line. Well, I thought that was fantastic. Later that week we met about four or five more pastors from the other side of Nigeria from northern Nigeria and we find that those also recognize me and said that they were listening to the Bibleline and we’re watching it and listening to it in upper or northern Nigeria.

Isn’t that amazing? Well, people from all over the world are able to listen to and watch our programs on the internet from anywhere on the planet. We’ve had 150 countries log in and most all the large ones have logged in and we hope that you will tell your friends. And of course anywhere in the country, anywhere you live, and we have many, many, many Internet listeners and we’ve got a caller coming up from Texas. I know he’s listening on the Internet today.

We’ll catch that call in a few minutes. But Bibleline also is listeners supported. We need your help, your prayers. If you would pray for Bibleline, we’d appreciate that so much. We believe God does hear and answer prayer. We also need your financial help. We don’t have another means of keeping these programs on the air. We have to pay to be on the air and we don’t pay any salaries. So we have all volunteers. The people working right now with Bibleline are all in here as volunteers.

No one’s getting paid. I don’t get paid. And so obviously we’re able to do a lot more with the money that comes in. So it’s a great investment if you’re trying to invest in getting the most for your money and the way of results for eternity. I believe when you send a gift to Bible and you’re getting the max. If you want to help us, you can do that by telephone, mail it in if you want, but also by credit card over the phone.

Give our operators a call. We’re going to rejoin the stations that have been on break and here we’re ready to do the second half of Bibleline. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break and this is Pine Blind. It’s great to be with you. It’s Wednesday and we invite you to come by and see us here in our headquarters in Tampa, Florida.

We’re right next to the airport on the west side, a block west of the Tampa International Airport. Come on and say hi. If you fly in or drive into Tampa, the airport’s a big target. Don’t go more than a block away because we’re on George Road, running north and south of the block west of the perimeter road on the airport on the west side. So drop in, say hi. Also you’re welcome to come by not only to our resource center during the week till about 4.30 in the afternoon but also you’re welcome to come by during our worship service.

You can come to the worship service at 10.30 B my guest stay for the lunch. We have all kinds of great home cook food, but this third Sunday, October 21st, we’re having a baptism at three in a lake just near the church. You’re invited to come because a lot of people have told me they just don’t have a place to get baptized.

Either the church day of 10 doesn’t baptize by immersion or they don’t do baptisms or they don’t feel comfortable getting baptized there because the message is not right. So you’re welcome to join us. Just call us and get on the list and we’ll be happy to. I’d be honored to baptize you. And if you want to wait until next year, we’ll do it in Israel. We’re thinking about the trip being in February. We just are thinking about moving the trip to February.

And if you’d like to go with me, we’ll have a great time. It’ll be trip number 15 for me. call and get on the prospect list or the interest person list and we’ll keep you abreast of exactly the departure date we pick and we’ll have a wonderful time walking where Jesus walked and talking about the Bible each step of the way. You’ll have a wonderful time we invite you to come and be with us. We had a great trip this past March and we did our radio programs there from Israel from in the hotel.

We’d love to be able to have you along and do the trip with us and follow this footsteps of Christ as we walk through the special land where we got our Bible and where Christ came and became our Savior by dying on the cross and so on. Cause that 800 number works and just tell us you want to be on the prospect list. We’ll keep you informed as we make our decision about Israel. We have a number of callers waiting to go here we have Kevin he’s in Clearwater and Kevin now welcome to Bibleline you are on the air Kevin are you there yeah yeah I’m here all right what is your question question.

Yes, my question is related to revelations. The second chapter, the 20th verse. And where it says about Jezebel here. Now, I think this is referring to the Jezebel of the Old Testament or the Spirit of Jezebel. I’m sorry. talking about a future Jezebel from the one that was back in the book of Genesis but The same doctrines that Jezebel introduced were introduced in the Church of Thyra-Tira. There were seven churches here, all of them real churches that existed at the time that John wrote the book of Revelation in 1896.

But also they’re each one a prophetic picture of church history over the past 2000 years. So this probably picks up about the eighth century and takes us up to the time of the Reformation and what happened during that time was that the Bible was sacrificed for tradition and other teachings. You know the word Thyra Tyra in the Greek means sacrifice and this was a time when the Mass was introduced, the sacrificial system of salvation by offering up Jesus Christ again every time the Mass is offered as a means of forgiveness.

totally blasphemous because Christ died once and will never die a second time. But also the Scriptures were sacrificed in that… The Bible is a tradition that holds higher sometimes than what the Bible teaches. There are many churches that hold their traditions highly such that many times they contradict the Bible. The Bible warns about how that can happen. In Matthew 15 verse 9 Jesus told the people of his time, the religious leaders, he says, you’ve made the Word of God of none effect by your tradition.

You’ve made the Word of God of none effect by your tradition. We got to watch out for tradition. We can have traditions if they’re lined with scripture and whole to them. But if we have traditions in our churches that contradict the Bible, then I think we need to dump them. One of those, of course, is every spring. We celebrate the resurrection of Christ. But so many say they’re celebrating Easter. Well, Easter is the name of the mother of Baal.

And she was a sex goddess. That’s why I hold the bunny rabbits and eggs and all that. I don’t like to use the word Easter tell you the truth because it’s really not God honoring But I tell people I celebrate the resurrection. So I call it resurrection Sunday. I call the music we do that day resurrection music I call the special Activities we do resurrection activities. I’d say if the ladies dress up in a brand-new dress and it’s a resurrection dress And and I just switch words and I think we get our point across that we’re talking about Jesus not the mother of Baal, which has been slipped into Christianity.

Some traditions are terribly wrong and that’s what I think is talking about here with the woman Jezebel. She introduced a false religious system into Israel at the time when she was alive. She was the wife of Ahab. He was a bad guy but he looked good when you looked at Jezebel because she was really bad and she introduced a false system that really made God angry and that system was similarly introduced into the church as pictured prophetically by the church that darater from the 18th to the 14th centuries.

Hope that helps. Okay, yes it is. Thank you very much. I recommend my revelation set. I’ve got a 12 hour set on the book of Revelation, verse by verse, on CD and you’ll go verse by verse with me and we cover all these things and I think it will be very helpful to you. We’re now going to go to Mr. Anonymous in Kaleen, Texas and welcome to the Bible and program. You’re on the air. Yes, I have a question as it returns to Colossians 1 and 23 and I can read if you want me to.

Well, I won’t use this as a theory. There’s a conditional word if there. Right. And the if is talking about here the Christian life found about salvation. So we’re going to be presented before the Lord blameless and we’re going to be rewarded if we are living for Christ as a faithful Christian from the time we get saved till the time we die. And so it’s that if is talking not about whether you’re going to be saved or not, but whether you’re going to be rewarded or not and is talking about the Christian life.

So that’s a big part of rightly dividing the word of truth to be able to separate between salvation which is what God has done for us at the cross and service which is what we do in response to what he’s done for us and is going to be rewarded by the Lord. Is he going to reward all of our works and all of our deeds that are done for his glory? The Schofield Bible is so wonderful in this regard and if you have the booklet by Dr.

Schofield on Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth, you’ve got a real gem there. of the Scofield’s have that included, but we have it on our website. If you go to our website on the home page on the left side of the screen, it says online books. We’ve got three sitting there. We’ve got the book on evangelism. You can read it and print out right there without ever buying it if you want to just get it off our website. We also have the book called Right in the Divine Word of Truth by Dr.

C.I. Scofield. All ten chapters are there in their entirety. They deal with this kind of an issue and they deal with these very verses right here, so it’s wonderful. So it says here, if you want to be verse 22, presented wholly, and unblamable and unreprivable in his sight, this happens if you continue in the faith grounded and settled. So the if is conditional as to whether you’re going to stand there and be ashamed or whether you’re going to stand there unblamable and the Lord is going to say you did a great job.

be presented to die anyway if you’re saved in my correct interest. That’s right. Now, positionally, we are already blameless and holy and righteous. The word sanctified means made pure and holy in Hebrews chapter 10. In verse 10 it says that Christ was offered up once so that we might be… It’s not just sanctified by the offering of his body once for all. So when Christ died, positionally, we become when we trust Him as Savior, holy and righteous in God’s sight.

But in the practical aspect of it, we have to live out our lives and that has to do with rewards. You’re going to go to heaven if you trusted Christ. And He positionally sees you as perfect and righteous, but in our actual state. And that’s why one of the chapters by Dr. Schofel, who talks about standing in state. Our standing before God is that we are perfect in His sight because of what Christ did for us. But in our actual standing, we are here in the nasty here and now.

And we find we have a sin nature and we struggle every day. And as a result, we need to be grounded and settled and go steadfastly forward so we We can be found with a pleasing in his sight so he’ll impose the greatest reward we could earn when we stand in the form of the Judge of the City of Christ. Now we all made part of our quite if we hold the beginning of our confidence that fast until the end of that talk.

Yeah, that’s the same thing. If you look up that word partaker, it’s talking about fellowship. If you notice Scofil again, it comes to your aid in that wonderful passage. I’m turning over there now. Let me just point out the note. I don’t know if you have a Scofil, but in the margin here, the word partaker really is the word in the Greek means a companion. It’s the same word translated fellows in Hebrews 1-9. So it means if you are faithful here, hold fast the confidence of your salvation.

test under the end of your life, you are made a companion of Christ. In other words, you have fellowship with Christ and you’re able to enjoy Christ throughout every day of your life. But if you’re not, you’re going to be missing out on that and although you’re saved, you won’t be enjoying the fellowship part of your Christian life. My relationship occurs when I trust Christ. That’s the new birth and that’s permanent. It’s irrevocable. It’s unchangeable. When somebody says, Because how is your relationship with Christ?

I tell him it’s sitting concrete. It can’t be changed. I was born again and I’m forever God’s child as a result of that new birth. But if you ask me about my fellowship, that’s up and down as every Christian’s fellowship is. As we walk with the Lord, we’re closer at sometimes than others and we’re more in tune with Christ in our walk sometimes than others. And that’s what it’s talking about here in Hebrews 3.14. as it calls about fall from your own state vastness, this sucks also right, falling from.

Well, that’s talking about, yeah, your assurance. You know, your assurance is the basis of your salvation. I mean, as far as your Christian life, if you’re assured, you got lots of courage, because you know you’re going to make it. If you’re climbing a ladder that you’re not sure of, you’re going to be scared as you climb up to the roof of your house. But if you have a ladder that’s really secure, really strong. It’s built the whole hundreds of pounds and doesn’t even wiggle when you jump on that ladder.

You’re very confident you’re going to climb up on your roof and be fine. And the same thing is true in your Christian life. If you’re unsteady, unsure, you’re not going to make much progress. You’re going to go real slow, you’re going to go very carefully, and you’re going to probably not make much of an impact in your world. But if you’re assured, you know you’re going to heaven, you know you’re saved forever, you know you’re never going to be lost.

You can just move forward quickly in the Christian life and really affect a lot of people for Christ. Okay, well I appreciate it for you. Alright, well thank you for calling in from Texas, the great state of Texas. We now have Beverly in Scranton, Pennsylvania. We’re excited about this week as our first week on the air in Scranton, and you’re our first caller, Beverly, from Scranton, so welcome to Bibleline. I’m glad to talk to you. Hello. Hi Beverly, you’re on the air.

Hi. Okay. The, you were just talking to a lady about the Bible, the Catholic Bible. Yes I was. And I’ve noticed that our 10 commandments are much different. I’m going for Exodus 21, 17 from the King James Bible, the Catholic Bible, the R-R number 2, the Second Amendment, they’ll shall not make unto the any graven image, where theirs is, you shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. Then it goes on and then… If you follow how even the third commandment is, you can see it’s different and they sort of double up on the on the last one.

Could you explain that in more detail? Well, you’re absolutely right. And there is a deliberate deception there in the Catholic Catechism. It’s very plain. They say, what are the 10 commandments that give you 10, but they only really are giving you nine because they drop that second commandment about idols and graven images. and they take the 10th commandment and split it and make two commandments. And you know somebody had to deliberately do that to deceive us because they are guilty in the Catholic Church of worshiping pictures, idols, images and statues and so on.

And that’s really wrong. And depending on which Catholic Bible you have, like the Duet Rhimes, the one that came out several hundred years ago, would really make some major leaps to support the Catholic priesthood and other things that are not difficult. And they have cleaned that up and I think the New Jerusalem Bible is a lot closer to the truth. But the Catholics haven’t been exactly honest in their translations, but you can still get them saved through it. And that’s what I was trying to say earlier is that I don’t use the Catholic Bible as my regular Bible, but you can go to the Salvation Verses and find that you can lead a Catholic to Christ and hopefully bring light to them.

But you’re right, they have tampered with the Bible and they have tried to change some things in their favor. Yes, especially the Ten Commandments, which is so important. But I know because they get offended, especially if you point out the 10 commandments like that, sometimes they get offended. So you really have to be walking in the spirit when you give testimony like that. But thank you very much for going into a little bit of detail about that. You’re welcome Beverly and keep listening and tell your friends up there and Scranton.

Okay. All right. We just went on the air beginning Monday of this week in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and the Beverly was our first caller today from Scranton, and hopefully a lot more folks up in that area who begin to discover Bible Ed will give us a call and maybe just to say hi and say we’re listening up here in northern Pennsylvania and enjoying the program and we hope you are. We’re going to go now to Ronnie in Oxford, North Carolina.

Oxford, North Carolina, Ronnie, welcome to Bibleline your own the air. Are you there, Ronnie? Yeah, I’m here. All right. You have the question. You’re on the air. Oh, yes, sir. On my question is the scripture says to be asked in front of body to be present with the Lord. My question is when we die, do we be with Christ in paradise?

Well, the answer is yes. The paradise has been moved. It was in the heart of the earth and that’s where all the Old Testament saints went until Christ died himself and Emptied it out when Christ died he went to the heart of the earth 90 1240 Christ tells us he’d be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth He told the dying thief as you just mentioned in Luke 23 43 That today thou shall be with me in paradise.

We know paradise was in the heart of the earth when Christ rose from the dead He emptied out Paradise and in Ephesians 4 8 through 10 it tells us he led captive all the Old Testament Saints out of Paradise and took it up to heaven And now according to 2 Corinthians 12 3 Paradise is in heaven itself where God is so yes the answer is yes We will be in paradise, but it will not be in the same location as now We can go directly to heaven prior to the cross sin and not you have been paid for.

So the Old Testament saints had what I called an installment salvation as a layaway. When Christ finally died, He was then able to give them the full benefits of salvation and took them out of the heart of the earth and took them up to heaven. And I hope that answers your question. Right. Well, to be asked upon the body is to be, is he a fan then when we die? That’s right. At that moment. Exactly. Instantly. Amen. I just want to make sure.

Alright, you got it right. That second Corinthians 5-8 is a favorite verse of mine, absolutely the verse of the Lord. I’m Ryan, thank you for calling in. Thank you, sir. Ronnie in Oxford, North Carolina. We now have Brad in Richmond, Virginia. Brad, welcome to Bibleline. You are on the air. Thank you for calling in. Hi Dr. Hank, I have this book, it’s a rare book called, Give the Winds of Heidi Boyce. It’s a book by Charles Fuller, son of First Radio of Angela.

And I’m reading it right now and I’m just going to hang up. Could you take some comments about him as First Radio Ministry has mentioned that you know anything about it and the seminaries seemed after his father and I’ll hang up and listen to what you say. Okay. Thank you. I’m really going to strike out on this one because I really don’t know enough to comment. I would have to do my homework and research and try to find out for you.

Sorry about that, but I’m not really bearish from here with him. of course a great line in the hymn about the winds of mighty voices. We spread the gospel to the world. But I really don’t know enough about him to comment. Thank you for your call though, Brad, and keep listening up in Richmond, Virginia. We have Carol in Tampa, Florida leaves an unfair question. She says we know God created the entire universe. In what order were the celestial bodies created?

I believe they were all created in the beginning. Genesis 1-1. the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. So I think it all came into being at the instant God brought the universe into existence. He created it in the very beginning. Number two, why do we continually focus on the earth to the exclusion of thinking about other planets? I think that’s because we live here. I would imagine, Carol, that you spend a lot more time thinking about your own house and is it clean?

Is it prepared? Is it painted? prepare all the things but probably do very little thinking about my house because you’ve never been there, never seen it and it doesn’t impact you. So obviously we all think about where we live more often than we think about people in other areas. So how often do you think about people in their houses in London, in Moscow, in Beijing or in some other part of the world in Israel? You probably spend very little time, but you probably spend a lot of time thinking about your own house as you enter and exit every day and live there.

That’s the reason why. We focus on the planet Earth because we live here. Next question, Analamus in Tampa, Florida. Job 1.4 says the siblings of Job got together to eat and drink. Was that wine that they drank and did they get tipsy? Well, it doesn’t tell us but The Bible doesn’t say it’s wrong to drink wine But it says that it’s wrong to get drunk Ephesians 5 18 says be not drunk with wine. We’re in his excess So we’re not to get drunk, but I don’t drink anything just because I don’t want to be associated with Being drunk or whatever so I just don’t drink any alcohol period zero But the bottle doesn’t forbid it.

In fact, in other countries, you might do well to have a mild wine or something because of the bad water. You can get pharaohs revenge if you go to Egypt and so on. And of course, we always recommend for our group to drink bottled water or a hot drink, coffee tea or something else to avoid drinking the water in Egypt. Now Israel is wonderful. You can drink the water in a hotel and not get sick and it’s great. That’s the answer.

It also says here, we’re the old Christians. I believe it says that they are the sons of God, which is a reference to the fact that they are believers. So the final question is, is it wrong to get tips of your drinking occasional beer? The answer again is not forbidden in the Bible to drink, but it warns what the drink can do to you and it tells you it’s wrong to get drunk. So hopefully that helps you. I would be careful if you have a tendency to drink.

It can ruin your life too. I’ve met so many that their lives have been destroyed by alcohol. Jonathan, in Tampa, Florida calls in with an unfair question. He says I’m having some trouble understanding the Trinity because some verses, for example, numbers 23, 19, John 1, 18, Matthew 27, 46. Well, you know, in John 1, 18, says no man has seen God at any time, that’s because God is a spirit. So God, the second member of the eternal Godhead, Jesus Christ, revealed himself in flesh.

So it says in that John 1 18 that the only begotten son, God has revealed him. So God has revealed himself in the second person of the Godhead. Please notice, the Trinity is implied in verse 1 of John 1 1. In the beginning was the word, the word was with God and was God. Now that tells you a lot because here we have God, and yet he was at the same time with God because he is the second separate eternal member of the Godhead.

And then in Cesar 1 14 he was made flesh and dwelt among us. And it tells us that God is the spirit no man has seen God in any time and John 1 18. But the only begotten son, the one that was taking on human flesh and the person of Christ was revealed and seen. And we could actually see God in flesh at that time. time. Well, we’re coming up on the end of the program. Lots more offer questions here.

And we’ve got another question from the state of Washington. I think we just take it real quick maybe. But are you there? This is Susan in Washington State. Hello, Susan. Hi. You’re on real quick. You got just a few seconds. What do you want to say? I just want to say thank you for your support this last week. you’re very well. I was a friend of mine died and y’all been very supportive with it and actually y’all probably know who he is.
