This is Bibleline and I’m Dr. Inkman Stirmen. We’re going to go right now to the Bible for just a minute or so and we hope that you’ll enjoy. All right. Well, this is Bibleline and we’re having a technical problem here, but we hope to get that solved and get you up on the air here shortly. numbers 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771, and I hope you will give us a call. And we’ll try to get you up on the air. So give that a try.

Okay, we’re going to turn in our Bibles to the Gospel of John, and we’re going to take a look at John 3-18. I like this verse, Because it tells us what is the unpardonable sin? The unpardonable sin is that of rejection of Christ as Savior. There’s only one Savior and that is Jesus Christ and it tells us here, and these are the words of Christ, if you have a red letter edition of the Bible you’ll see that, it says, he that believeth on him is not condemned.

So when you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, the Bible says you are not condemned from the moment of belief and nor would you ever be condemned in the future. In other words, it is an attempt in the Greek language, the New Testament is written in Greek that lets us know that from the moment you believe you are not condemned and nor will you ever be condemned in the future. But then it goes on to say, but he the belief of not is condemned already.

So if you have not believed, you are already condemned. Why? It says because you have not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God. In other words, if you have not believed on Christ, then you are already living in a condemned state. That means at any time if you were to die, you would die condemned and separated from God forever and ever in the eternal lake of fire. Oh, you don’t want that to happen to you.

But you know, that’s exactly what will happen to everyone that dies without Christ as Savior. A lot of people think that there’s something that they can do in their life that would cause them to be condemned. And the answer from the Bible is that no, that’s not true because you’re already condemned from the very moment that you believe. Now, I mean that you are, as long as you’re an unbeliever, you are still condemned. But, if you become a believer from that moment on, you’re no longer condemned.

Look if you will over adverse 36, where it also says very plainly, he that believeth on the sun has everlasting life. He that believeth not the sun shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him. In other words, the unbeliever is already in condemned, and as it says in verse 36, he will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him. So the unbeliever is going to be condemned, and he will never see life.

The wrath of God abides upon him. And so that’s pretty bad news for the unbeliever, but very good news for the believer. The moment you believe on Christ, you become a child of God, you are not condemned, you possess everlasting life, all these things are made very clear. We hope that you have trusted Christ as your Savior. If you haven’t, wherever you are right now, you could whisper a prayer and just say, Lord, I am a sinner. I don’t understand much about the Bible, but I believe Jesus Christ died for me, paid my sin debt and full, was buried and rose again from the dead.

the moment you trust Christ, God of the heaven knows and He saves you. And you are saved eternally. And that is of course the good news. And so it is not the prayer that saves you. You have to trust in the death, the burial, the resurrection of Christ. It is Christ’s shed blood at the cross that brings about salvation. And once you trust Him, you are saved eternally. And that is the best news you are ever going to hear.

I was 18 when I understood that message when I trusted Christ and I received eternal life that night when I trusted Christ as my Savior. And I have everlasting life right now. I’ll possess it forever. I received it at the moment I believed. You know a lot of people feel that they have to wait until after they die to find out whether they get eternal life or not. And then they receive it after death, after some judgment when their works are weighted in a great scale.

That’s not true. We don’t receive eternal life after we die. We receive it at the moment we believe that if you die as an unbeliever, then you will never have eternal life. You will not see life, but the wrath of God will abide upon you forever and ever and ever and ever. You just really don’t want to have that happen to you. That would be the worst nightmare you could ever have. I’m Dr. Ankerine Klimstram. This is by the line and we’re going to go ahead and go to the callers.

If you have a question, give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to go to Jackson, go forward. We have Lou on the line. And Lou, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Thank you. How you doing, Pastor? Good. I listened to you before. And one of the things that I still don’t clear about it, when you say that the speaking of tongues not supposed to happen anymore. Now I was reading on 1st Corinthians 14, specifically verses 27 and especially verse 39.

I don’t have the Bible with me right now on driving, but I believe that verse 39 says something to the faith that if you have the gift of prophesy, but do not forbid the speaking of tongues. You absolutely right. Of course that was written around 8054 and tongues was still an operation at that point and He tells us in chapter 13 verses 8 through 8 through 10 that tongues would cease and by the end of the first century tongues were gone So while they were still in operation We were not to forbid anybody from speaking in tongues But once they cease then obviously they’re they’re gone It says the word in the Greek that’s translated cease means to come to an utter and complete halt And that’s exactly what happened church history bears that out.

There was no not even any gibberish for the past 2000 years this new movement here at the end which I believe is a counterfeit movement began in 2000 run 1906 in Azusa Street down in California and That was a gibberish from the very beginning but the real gift was a known foreign language gift and it was to communicate the gospel in a way that the unbeliever could hear it in their language and understand it very clearly. Where’s mine in this very chapter you’re talking about says, except you speak by the tongue, words easy to be understood.

How shall it be known when it is spoken? You simply speak into the air. So in other words, when you speak in tongues you should be speaking words that are easily understood. If nobody understands you, then you don’t have the real gift. Hello. I’m right here. So I hope you’re. I was struggling in my phone and I have a bad connection. So if you could repeat that, I’m going to turn my phone off and lead it to the radio.

All right, that’s a good idea. So what I’m saying here is that Corinthians was written around AD 56 AD 54 somewhere in the 50s at least different ideas about exactly the correct date. But the tongues gift didn’t cease till the end of the fall. for a century when the New Testament record was completed. So you still have another 50 years of tongues. So in the chapter it says don’t forbid somebody who has a gift from speaking in tongues because it was still a viable gift.

But the gift was to be able to communicate the gospel to the lost in a very clear fashion in the language of the hearer. And that’s why it says in verse 9, except you speak by the tongue, words easy to be understood. How shall it be known what has spoken you speak into the ear? In other words, you’re just wasting your breath. If you don’t speak in a language that people can hear and understand. And verse 22 tells us that it was to evangelize the lost.

It says, Thungs are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to those that believe not. So it wasn’t given to reach the believer. It was to be used with the unbeliever. That’s what’s not happening today. If this was the real gift today, then you ought to be able to go out and reach the lost with and nobody seems to want to do that. I’ve challenged hundreds and hundreds of people that do the gibberish to, hey, get in my car.

Let’s go to the mall. I’ll get a crowd together. I might have to freak out, but I’ll get a crowd. Then I’ll introduce you and you speak in your gibberish and let’s see what happens. We should have revival. If you have the real gift, it is to be used for evangelism. Let’s try it. Nobody yet has ever gone with me. I even tell them I’ll buy the mistake dinner after we get all done. I’d love to have them go, but nobody, not one, has ever gotten in my car.

They don’t want to do that. They know when they use the gibberish out in public it’s not well received. But if you read Corinthians carefully, this was a gift to reach the lost. And in 1st Corinthians 14 it’s telling about the abuse of the real gift as it was used in the church. And so Paul laid down some rules if they were going to insist on using this foreign language in the church situation. had to interpret it, only three at most, one at a time, could do it.

None of those rules seem to be followed today in the modern tongues movement. Thank you, Lou. I hope that helps a little bit. If not, call back. We have Orlando in Orange City and Orlando. Welcome to my blind year on the air. Hey, thank you. I was at Reloaded at a Methodist Church recently. We were having the communion. I don’t know if the leader was talking about something about the Eucharist or something. And then he dipped the bread into the wine.

I never did it that way. But I was kind of concerned about that. I don’t know if you have any experiences in that. And also the experience of the church. In Revelation the judgment. judgment of the president comfort uh… what are they met out died judgment that he’s going to perform self-war the man-made and you feel no those adjustments that god will bring about in some case men themselves will be responsible as i think the nuclear weapons used in our mcgeddon which is uh…

uh… really at seal number six trumpet number six and vial or bowl uh… number six is all our mcgeddon and they’re the armies of the world gather in the user nuclear weapons. But in the Lord’s Supper, the elements are separate and they have a distinct meaning. They used people using unleavened bread. When Christ took that unleavened bread and broke it, he was symbolizing his body being broken for you and for me at the cross. When the soldiers drove the spikes through his hands and through his feet, they broke his body.

Now, what is interesting is that leaven is a symbol of sin or evil, and the fact that we use unleavened bread is a picture of the fact that Christ’s body was sinless. Jesus Christ was the sinless Savior, the Lamb of God, without blemish and without spot. Also, we know that if you use wine, you destroy the picture there as the Bible never uses the word wine in connection with the Lord’s Supper. It uses the phrase in the gospels, the fruit of the vine, apparently the fresh squeezed juice right from the grape vine.

Now if you use wine, you destroy the picture because for grape juice to become wine you go through a corruptive process called fermentation and the Bible tells us about Christ blood that that it was. He was a very uncomfortable, incorruptible blood. And so the picture that we’re getting there when we do this memorial service in remembrance of Christ is that his body was sinless as it was unleavened bread that was used to picture that. And it was not wine, but it’s grape juice that has not gone through a corruptive process that pictures to us the sinless blood of Christ.

So it was a sinless body and sinless blood and it was Christ who is the sinless Lamb of God who died to pay for our sins. So I think it’s wrong to use regular bread or to use wine myself. I think it destroys the picture that was intended and people aren’t paying close attention to what the Bible says. And obviously, I don’t understand the logic of dipping the bread in the wine. I think that also, in a sense in the picture you’re giving there, wine, since it’s a corrupted juice, you’re corrupting his sinless body by placing it in the wine.

I think the pictures are all wrong. And obviously, this is an object lesson where we’re being reminded of the price that Christ paid at the cross of Calvary. Thank you for that call and we hope that that helped answer that a little bit. The judgments of Revelation are all from God, but some of them are man himself inflicting himself with, especially in Armageddon, those are nuclear weapons, I think, that are the arsenals of the nations of the world. Alright, the phone number if you want to call is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771.

This one comes from 1000 Oaks, California, and Troy calls in and leaves this offer question. He says, do you think the recent decision on the governor out there in California has anything to do with the wildfires. I have certainly thought about that. You know, I think God wants us to pay attention. And when Governor Schwarzenegger made this decision to outlaw the use of the name Father, Mother, Mommy, Daddy in the classroom, and then that the boys and girls can interchangeably use the restrooms of the opposite section locker rooms at their discussion and then to introduce from the elementary and kindergarten ages homosexuality, bisexuality, trans-sexuality and all these different things related to perverted sex, perhaps that was enough for God to say, hey, I want you to listen up and realize what you’re doing here.

I don’t know, but certainly it’s a preview of the kind of judgments that will occur during the tribulation period because there it says, a third of all the trees on the whole earth will be burned up and we’re beginning to see a prelude of what will happen. Okay we have here another caller Jim from Saleta, Colorado and he leaves this off our question. Jesus being mistaken for the gardener in his resurrection body without blood. I’m not too sure what this last part is reading here, but Jesus in the resurrection was in the garden there when Mary was there and she had been crying and I think she wasn’t expecting to see Christ number one.

Number two she had been crying and her vision was probably blurred. She sees an image of man and assumes it’s the gardener so she made a wrong assumption. But when he cries out to her and says, Mary, she recognized his voice and immediately turned and realized this was Jesus. So I think that that’s what’s going on there. It was not that he was not recognizable, but that Mary in her grief did not pay attention. And I think because number one she wasn’t looking for Christ to come back from the dead, she’d come there to anoint the body and was looking for a body, not a resurrected savior.

And also she had not, she had been crying so therefore she didn’t, probably her eyes were blurred and didn’t see it. I hope that’s the question you asked. I tried my best with what I have here in front of me. Anonymous from Volusia County over in East Coast of Florida leaves us off their question. You say not to expect a feeling at salvation. When you were saved, did you have a certain feeling? Please answer honestly. Yes, the feeling I got was anger.

I was intensely angry when I got saved. And the reason why is I had been raised in church as a cradle-roll baby right all the way through the system. I had been confirmed, baptized, homogenized, capsized, Simonized. You name it, I went through it. I was ahead of my youth group. I had gone through confirmation, asked tons of questions, never got any answers. When I finally found out how to be saved, I was angry at my church that they had never told me this.

My first emotion was not joy, it was anger. I was absolutely wanting to go back and hit somebody. When I got back to my church and talked to them about my salvation, I found out they didn’t know how to be saved either. My anger turned to compassion and I’ve been witnessing ever since. I’ve dedicated my life to tell people how to have eternal life. And so no, I didn’t have any other emotions. I had anger because my church had deceived me, misled me for 18 years.

And that was enough to make me real angry that night. I said, how can that happen? How can I go through 18 years of instruction, confirmation, baptism in classes in church every Sunday listening, asking questions and never be told the truth about how to be saved. I just was basically living about that. I was very upset. But of course, again, that anger turned to compassion and I realized there’s a lot of folks just like me who have been raised in church and have never heard the gospel.

I’ve led people to Christ in their 80s and even older that have never heard it even though they were raised in church all of their life. And that is sad. You have a caller here, Larry, from Chattanooga, Tennessee. And Larry says, in Romans 1, by the way, in Chattanooga, we’re on four times a day. We’re on at 10 in the morning, four in the afternoon, 10 at night, and 4 a.m. in the morning. I want to thank all those folks in Chattanooga who are running our program so often that you can actually hear four hours a day.

And Larry, thank you for this call. It’s Romans 1, verse 18 through 32. appears to be saying that you can lose your salvation. Please explain, I respect your Bible views and listen daily. Actually what you have here in chapter 1 is the indictment of the non-religious man, the person who is unsaved and he is indicted here because it says in verse 19, that which may be known of God is made known in them because God has showed it unto them.

So in other words, God plans within everyone a knowledge that he exists. Therefore, they become responsible. And the very next verse says, because of that, they are without excuse. There’s no excuse for them at all because God is initiating the salvation for someone. He not only plans within us a knowledge that he exists, but also the desire to find him. If we don’t seek him and we don’t try to find him, then we’re going to be without excuse one day because God is of course convicting us with his Holy Spirit and places the knowledge of the fact that he exists.

They may not know about Christ, but they know there’s a God that they’re going to give an account to one day. Then of course it tells us in the last of the chapter there that people who commit all the sins that are listed there, I think there are 32 sins listed in that list in the end of Romans 1 and it says these who do these things know that they deserve some kind of consequence for it and yet they don’t seek the Lord and therefore they don’t find the Lord.

In chapter 2 you have the religious Gentile who is also guilty and indicted by God and then you have the religious Jew and then of course chapter The 3 gives us the conclusion that all have sinned and all have come short of the Lord of God. So it’s not talking about a say person being lost, it’s talking about loss to people being guilty. And if you read Romans 3.20 it says that the law therefore condemns everybody, therefore they will have no excuse and every mouth will be stopped and they’ll all be found guilty before God because they are condemned by their own rejection of the opportunity they have to trust the Lord.

Once you get saved when you are stuck, the Bible is very clear that you cannot be lost once you become saved. Christ says in John 637, he would have no wise cast you out. John 639, he said he would not lose one person that comes to him. And been writing Romans 838 and 39. Paul says I am persuaded that neither death nor life nor angels are things present or things to come nor height nor death nor any other creation she’ll be able to separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.

Nothing can separate you once you become saved, you’re saved forever. We have David in New York calling in with this off air question. He says, where do the races and colors fit into the Scriptures? Well, the Bible really doesn’t tell us, but I assume that it probably happened at the Tower of Babel when God changed the languages and the people were dispersed out in the nations had their beginning. They were founded there in in Genesis chapter 11. Well, in any case, we find it was then probably, if he changed the languages, he probably also changed the skin color.

So that’s what I’m assuming, and I assume that that’s what took place there. So we don’t really have a good answer. We’ll have to wait until we get to heaven. Scientists tell us that those that are living in the northern most latitudes are lighter skin, and those that are closer to the equatorial regions are darker skinned, and it’s basically something that happens over a period of time. I don’t know that that’s the correct answer, but it could be that God changed the skin colors at the time when he confronted the languages back there in Genesis.

I’m Dr. Englund’s room. This is my blend. We have fun being with you every day. We’re having a few technical problems today. We couldn’t get our music up, but we’ll heavily hopefully have that fixed by tomorrow. But therefore, you’re going to have to listen to me just a few seconds longer here as we speak over when the music would be playing even right now. In any case, pray for Bible and if you can help Bible and you can do that by praying for us and also giving a gift you can do by credit card over the phone.

We’re going to now take a break. We’ll come back and do a second half hour Bible and you’re welcome to call us at 1-800-576-3771. We hope you do and we hope that you’ll enjoy Bible and for the second half hour coming up in just a minute. And so we’re trying to pull out all the stops and reach out as far as we can to as many as we can while we still have opportunity.

You can be a part of that. As you pray for us, I believe you partake in this ministry. As you give to Bible, I believe you partake. We have George in South Carolina.

Don’t forget that phone number is 1-800-576-3771. George in South Carolina, George, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hey Hank. Good morning. Maybe I’m the last person in the world to understand this or maybe I’m wrong altogether. I’ve been going through the John tapes that you just did the John class. Many times so far I’ve noticed when Jesus is responding to someone he says, I am and throughout the Old Testament and New Testament. In particular in John in verse 58 he says before Abraham, Before Abraham was I am and it just clicked in my head.

Why does he always say I am? And I thought because Jesus and God Never Have been bounded by time He never was he never will be he always is So he says I am Well, you’re right, you know And that’s the name that God used when he appeared to Moses at the burning bush when Moses said what is your name? What will I tell Pharaoh and the people of Egypt when I go as your representative? And God said, tell them that my name is I am.

And Jesus is claiming that he is that same God. And that’s why the deed of Christ is so significant. And those who deny the deed of Christ cannot be saved. As Jesus said in John 824, which I love, he said, I said therefore unto you that you shall die in your sins. or if you believe not that I am, you shall die in your sins. So you’ll die accountable for your sins and go to hell. If you do not recognize that Jesus is the same God that appeared to Moses and there God told Moses that he was the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob.

He’s the God of creation. He’s the eternal God. And that’s who Jesus is. And I think Jesus liked that term. And as you said, it’s intercepts time. He always intercepts it in the present tense. He doesn’t ever say I was or I shall be. But he says I am and that means he’s presently existent and that’s what the meaning of the word is it means a self-existent Eternal God that Jesus is that self-existed eternal God who is not bound by time or space that he really is the one who created time and space and Is outside of time and space and manages everything that happens in time and space?

Thank you. Well, I thank you George and good to hear from you up there in South Carolina. We now have George in Venice, Florida calling in and George welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yeah, hello, Dr. Hank. How are you? Good, how are you today? Good, good, good. My question is out of for the scripture in Genesis 2.24 and it talks about the institution of marriage and how when a a man leaves his father and mother, he leaves to his wife.

My question on that verse is some folks are real dogmatic about that kids should stay at home up until the time they get married and that that’s kind of like what that scripture means is that kids should not move out of the home until they get married. But the commentary that I looked that verse up in kind of explained it in the sense that it’s more of a not geographical but a relationship issue like that the kids should cater to their parents in a relationship way until they get married uh…

what do you think about that well you know i think that we should always on our parents as one of the ten commandments and uh… i think that our parents having already lived uh… uh… a great number of years before we came along have uh… wisdom that we need appeal to i know that I always would run decisions by my dad and say, Dad, what do you think? I’m about ready to make a significant decision. What do you think?

And I did that even about going into ministry. I was ready to graduate in electrical engineering from the University of Florida. And I said, Dad, I really feel like God is calling me into ministry. What should I do? I spent a five year engineering program about ready to complete it. And he said, and I didn’t know what he was He’s going to say to me, but he said, he says, you need to do what’s going to make you happy in life.

And if this is what you feel like you’re called to do, and this is where you’re going to be fulfilled and satisfied, he says, that’s what you want to do. I was glad I had his support. That was so wonderful. And when I was going to get married, I said, what do you think? Here’s the girl I’m looking at. What do you think? And I got his advice and he said, absolutely you go for it. And I would, and until he died.

I was always running things by him and getting his advice. And he always gave real good advice, was very supportive. And he would say also when he didn’t think I was making a wise choice, that I ought to back off or reconsider or think about it, or postpone it, or something. And I always found it was great advice. And I think that’s what it was talking about. And I think that children get in trouble sometimes when they get off on their own.

But there’s a point when we get after jump out of the nest. but uh… we definitely still need i think that connection to moms and dads can give us some good advice and i think that’s really what the bible saying sure okay that’s fair thank you all right thank you for that call uh… there’s a lot more than i’m sure you know but it definitely the husband wife are to uh… be like glue to one another but uh… the children obviously are uh…

constantly getting older and are being uh… Obviously getting ready to jump out of the nest. If you have a bird, you know, the birds stay in the nest until they’re able to fly. And then at certain point, usually the mother bird will actually push about in the nest because maybe they wouldn’t ever leave if they weren’t forced to do that. So the mama bird, when she knows they’re ready, will push them out of the nest and then they learn to fly and fend for their own.

We have Piba in Lakeland, Florida and people welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes, I’ve been listening to you, uh, sexually. Yeah, you are very good in most things, but of course you’re not perfect. And in every city there is one or two teachers or three or more that do not teach the whole truth. If you want to know, anybody wants to know about the spiritual gift, you go to first Corinthians number 12, 13, and you’re going to be able to do that.

13, 14, and 15. Now, there is enough food there for you to get acquainted with the gift of the Spirit. I didn’t believe in tongue neither. And then I was envious after a while that they were speaking in tongue in my church, and there was the assemblies of God. The assembly of God, as they are, only church, plus the other church too, they do. And, but you don’t talk in tongue during the service, but this is a gift for self.

And then, to edify self, to speak to God, we don’t speak to man when we speak in a tongue, except if we prophesy it. But if we speak in tongue, in our time, along with the Lord. It is our spirit to the Spirit of God. And we can meditate on the world. Now on the chapter 14, I have been really ostracized because of this. And I don’t think that you should say anything negative to people that have had the experience because that brings doubt to self.

We are already searching plenty and when there is a Baptist, especially the Baptist, so it has, but in the, it says tongue then are assigned for believers. So, believers, plenty believers are on and when I’m alone at home and I have my time of prayer with the law and I read the Bible. A lot of time the Holy Spirit prompts me to pray and I pray with such a debt about someone that I don’t even know and the Lord knows what he’s doing.

They did not remove this from the Bible. So it says the very last praise on chapter 14. It says, therefore my brother be eager to prophesy and do not forbid speaking in a tongue or in tongue, but everything should be done in sitting and orderly way than now. Well, I thank you for the call. First of all, you said that tongues were signed to believers. not true. It says in verse 14, tongues are signed not to those that believe, but to those that believe not.

It’s for unbelievers, is to be reaching the unbeliever. Also, you said it was to pray to God. This is not true either. That is a misunderstanding of verse 2 in chapter 14, where it says, He that speaketh in an unknown. By the way, the word unknown there is an italics. That means it’s not in the original language. The translators added it because they understood what was going on here as they made the translation. It means a tongue or a language unknown to the hearer.

So when you speak in a language unknown to the hearer, you don’t speak to men but to God because God doesn’t understand the languages. The reason why it says in verse 2, 4, or because no man understands him. So to that person hearing, you’re speaking in the spirit mysteries. So what it’s saying here to the people at Corinth where in the church they should have been speaking in the Greek language which everybody there would understand. They were speaking in a form language unknown to the here and here he’s saying you’re not speaking to men but to God.

It’s not about prayer. It’s just talking about if you speak in any language God understands it but if you speak in a language that’s unknown to the hearers in the audience then you’re not speaking the men and that’s what it’s saying. That’s why it says it again in verse 8 and 9, except you speak by the tongue words, easy to be understood. How shall it be known what is spoken? Nobody understands you, for you speak into the air. God understands English.

You don’t need a secret language to be able to pray to God and you don’t find any support for what you’re saying anywhere in the Bible. I know these people who do the so-called prayer language thing appeal to Romans chapter… 8 in verse 26 and I’ll read that verse. It says, likewise the Spirit also help with our infirmities, for we know now what we should pray for as we are. But the Spirit himself make a thinner session for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

And so these people who do the so-called prayer language, when they make their sounds, they say that’s the Holy Spirit making those sounds. And that’s not true. And I tell them here’s why because if you make any audible sound Then it’s not the Holy Spirit. Look at what the verse says. It says the Spirit himself make a finish session for us with groanings which cannot be which cannot be which cannot be uttered. In other words, they’re not heard. If you make the first peep that’s audible, that’s not the Holy Spirit.

He makes groanings for us which are not heard, that are not audible, that are in the Spirit realm. Any audible sounds that come out of you are not the Holy Spirit at all. The Bible, there is no secret language or an unknown language. I think the translators really confused us a little bit with that word unknown. Nowhere is there an unknown language. It’s unknown to the hearer. That’s why Paul is saying we need to use this with unbelievers to win him the Christ.

It was not to be used in the church, but if you had to use it in the church, verse 34, follow this rule, it says let your women be silent. Women were not to speak in tongues in church at all periods zero. If that rule were enforced today, the tongues movement would die because mostly women are doing it. And so that ought to be enforced. I think in all the churches that practice it because that’s not something women were to do in church.

But tongues still weren’t around for another fifty years until the end of the first century and then tongues ceased. I think it was gone even before that. When you go to Ephesians written later in chapter four when the gifts tongues was missing from the list, when you read Romans written even later, when you read Romans chapter 12 the gifts, tongues are gone. It was gone before the first century was over, but it was still operative when 1 Corinthians 1 of the earliest New Testament books was written.

And P. by, I understand what you’re saying, but the major issue here is, can you lose your salvation? If you say you can lose your salvation as the fellow that he had a day said that he spoke in gibberish and he also said he can lose his salvation, I don’t believe you’re because then you’re saying that you have to live your life in a certain way to be saved. You have to continue faithfully to death to go to heaven which is works and makes you the Savior not Christ.

The work of salvation was finished at the cross and when you trust Him you’re saved forever. We’re now going to go to Dave and Dave is in St. Petersburg and Dave welcome to Bibleline you’re on Hello Dave. David, are you still there? Yes, I’m still there. Okay, you’re on the air. Yes, Dr. Lestrom. Yes. Yes, Morning. I’m concerning communion. Okay. Hi there. I’m right here. Okay. Chapter 11 18 to 34 is basically I guess what the deals of communion.

Yes, but the Chapter 20 it says when you come together therefore into one place. This is not to eat the Lord’s Supper And then in chapter 22 What have you not houses to eat and to drink in or despise you the church of God and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you this I praise you not and then you go down and chat to 29. So basically what that says, you shouldn’t be taking comedian in the church to begin with.

And then you go down to chapter 29 for he that eat us and drink us and wordily eat us and drink us damnation to himself after turning the Lord’s body. Okay well at first I make a different way. First of all they came together it was like a covered dish affair and some that were rich might have brought their sirloin steak or their tea bone steak or their porterhouse steak and others that didn’t have any food would go hungry.

And he said that’s wrong. So basically they came and were disrespectful about the whole love feast. It was a dinner, fellowship dinner. And then they would take and observe the Lord’s Supper. So you have to separate out between the feast that would occur before they observed the Lord’s Supper. Just like in the Passover, they had a Passover dinner. and then Jesus instituted at the end of that Passover dinner, the Lord suffered. And the Lord’s Supper, of course, is a worship.

It’s a special time of communing or fellowshipping with the Lord himself as we take the elements that are reminded of his love and what he did for us at the cross. And so I believe it should be observed when the believers come together and that’s what he’s saying there. But he’s telling them that they need to do it in the right way and not in an unworthy manner because if they did it in an unworthy manner they would bring judgment to themselves and the Lord would chase them.

and he goes down to talk about how that when we Christians are judged we are chasing of the Lord that we should not be condemned with the world. So the believer is dealt with differently than the unbeliever. The believer is disciplined as a child would be in a family whereas the unbeliever will be cast into hell eventually and that’s a different ballgame. So I think there’s two things going on here. they were just going to go eat if they were not going to be sharing and loving and compassionate and respectful then they should eat at home and then just come for the Lord’s Supper, which I think was a separate event there.

Thank you so much for that call. We now have another caller on this line. Who do I have on this line? Well, that’s my radio, Dan. All right. What is your name? James in Richmond, Virginia. Yeah, speaking on one of the stretches, one lady called a few minutes ago, I’m starting to speak in a tongue. I want you to please explain to me verse 27, I mean the chapter 12 verse 27, 28, and 29 about speaking in tongues. Sure, you’ll notice there it’s one of the least of the gifts.

In other words, it was, It seems like everybody was seeking after this gift when Paul was saying it’s about last on the list. It wasn’t one of the more important gifts. It was one of the least gifts. And then in chapter 14, he goes on to say that the Krenden believers were acting like children because tongues was a visible gift and was one that you could show off. You know, if you have small children, everybody who’s had children knows this.

When you have guests over, your child will come out of the bedroom with some noisy toy and drag it right through the middle of the living room and make a big show or they’ll do something you think can kind of roll over or do a little summer salt. They’re going to do that in front of all your guests because they want to show off. And Paul is saying you’re misusing tongues by using it to show off what you can do.

And that’s what was happening in the Caribbean church. They should have been speaking Greek. They said, look at what I can do that you can’t do. And they would speak in a foreign language that nobody understood when that foreign language should have been used out there with a lost to win the lost of Christ. And Paul is trying to correct the creative believers. He says you’re acting like children and not like men. So later in the chapter, in chapter 14, he says that we ought to be adult and we ought to be like men.

And he says in verse 20 of chapter 14, rather than be not children and understanding. How be it in malice, be children, but in understanding be men. So he explains the proper use of tongues. Now in malice, children, they’re very good in that way. I’ve had my children come to me and there’s a little maybe disagreement with a neighborhood kid and I would come out there to solve that problem and by the time I got out there, they’d forgotten what they were fighting about.

And adults ought to be like that, it says, be like children in malice. but an understanding ought to be like men. So anyway, in verse 29, it says, are all apostles? The answer is no. Are all prophets? The answer is no. Are all teachers? The answer is no. All workers of miracles? Answer is no. Have all the gifts of healing? The answer is no. Do all speak with tongues? The answer is no. So notice here, even when the real gift was operative, not everybody hand tongues.

And yet, the modern-day movement teaches every one of their church members ought to speak in tongues. That’s totally unscriptural. Here the Bible is very plain that even when the real gift was in operation, not everybody had it. It was the least of a gift and not everybody was in a puzzle and not everybody was a prophet and not everybody was a teacher and not everybody was a worker of miracles and not everybody could heal and not everybody could speak with tongues and not everybody could interpret.

So he’s saying that you need to have it the more important gifts and and tons was at the bottom of the pile. And yet today, look at the bottom of the pile is become the one everybody seeking. The Greek word used in the book of Acts is dialectos, and it means a specific language, and not only that a specific dialect of that language, so it’s quite a precise language gift. And it wasn’t some unknown gibberish, which is the modern-day movement.

And the movement that is being done today by those who call themselves Christian is still done by all the world religions. The people in Islam do the gibberish. The people in Buddhism do the gibberish. And all around the world you have people that do this gibberish, which is really not the gift at all. And that’s unfortunate, but it’s something that people enjoy doing. I just tell people do it and enjoy it. Have fun, but don’t try to tell me that it’s difficult.

Or don’t tell me that it’s the gift that is talked about in the Bible as times. It’s not. and otherwise have fun at it because it’s not a Christian event and if you want to enjoy it go ahead but don’t try to tell me it’s the biblical gift. If you have the biblical gift, verse 22 of chapter 14 says you ought to be evangelizing with it and you ought to win people to Christ. I have to run, we’re out of time.

I’m not carrying goods from this Bible and we’ll be back again tomorrow. Don’t forget our TV programs are on tonight, on DirectTV at 6.30 to 9 Eastern Time nationwide and we’re on again on the West Coast of Florida here at 7 on the Christian Television Network. Play for Bible and if you can help us send us a gift by mail or call in and give a gift by credit card. We have a great book here called New Testament Teach on Tons by Merle Unger.

You’ll find that very helpful. Call in and get that book. It really does explain these chapters that were just mentioned here. We’ve got to run, keep looking up, Jesus is coming, and I’ll be back Lord willing tomorrow. Alright, we’ve had fun today, I hope you’ve enjoyed Bible and I’ve sure enjoyed being with you. We’ve had some great questions, some great discussion, and Tongue seem to really came up today in our program, but Tongue is not the real issue. Usually those who get Tongue’s wrong get Salvation wrong, and that’s what concerns me because if you believe you can lose your salvation, which most of those who claim to do the gibberish say that they can lose their salvation, I am afraid for them because they really are saying without knowing it that they are trusting in their works to get them to heaven.

And if you believe you can lose it, think about it. You are saying that from this moment as we speak, until you die, you must live the Christian life successfully to go to heaven that if you don’t from this point till you die, live the Christian life successfully but you backsline and die you’ll go to hell. That means salvation is by your actions, by your works, by your performance and that means that you’re not saved because salvation is not by works.

It’s based upon the finished work of Christ. At the cross, Jesus paid it all. And once He saves you, He saves you forever eternally at the moment you believe. John 3 16 even says it that if you believe in Christ, you would have, H-A-V-E, present tense, burr, be possessed eternal life. So if you possess eternal life today, what kind of life will it be tomorrow? It still will be eternal. How about next week, eternal? How about a hundred years from now, eternal?

How about a million years from now, it will be so eternal. I received eternal life at eighteen. I have it right now and I will continue to have it a million years from now because it’s eternal life that he gave. If he didn’t mean it to be eternal, he used the wrong word when he wrote the Bible because he should have said temporary life or a trial period or probation, but that’s not the case. I’m Dr. Englundschim and I hope that I’m stirring you to go back to the Bible and look at it through fresh eyes and get a new look at it.

And I hope especially if you’re not sure about where you’d spend eternity, that you’d simply trust in Jesus Christ and His finished work in order to be saved. I hope you’ll pray for us and if you can I hope you’ll give a gift to Bible and to help us stay on the air in your area. We’ve got a run but we’ll be back again tomorrow and I hope that you’ll be joining us. And again don’t forget our TV program on DirectTV World Harvest Television Channel 321 tonight nationwide at 630 Eastern Standard Time.

Have a great day, keep looking up, Jesus is coming, we’ll be back tomorrow and I hope you’ll be there listening when we come to you tomorrow. Have a great day, God bless you and keep looking up.
