That’s exciting. We’re planning to go to Israel. It looks like we’ll leave on the Monday and the last week of February. For return on the Friday, the first week of March, and we’ll have a great trip. We just about have it all finalized and we’ll have some brochures and be able to send that out. If you want to go with me, it’ll be trip number 15, and we’ll be studying the Bible the whole way. I hope you consider that, and we’d love to have you go with us to Israel this coming spring.

This year we went in March of this year and we had a wonderful time and very, very interesting things that we saw including as we were in the Galilee we saw thousands and thousands and thousands of migrating birds that migrate from Africa to Europe and Asia and they go back and forth across Israel and it was interesting to see the skies were just filled with birds. But we also, of course, get to see the biblical sites, and we’re going to see where Peter was born and raised, and the other apostles along the northern edge of the Sea of Galilee.

We’ll see Armageddon. We’ll see Calvary, and we’ll see the tomb in which Christ was buried. I think you’ll really find that it will transform your life. We hope you’ll plan to go with us. Again, I’m Dr. Englund, Mr. Bibleline, and I hope you’ll listen every day this week and also tune in on the internet and catch it over the weekend or during the day at a more convenient time for you. We hope you’ll join us every day. Thank you again for tuning in today and we’re going to get to our Bibles.

Then we’re going to go answer the phone lines and we’ve got people already calling and getting up online. We’re going to go to 2 Corinthians 5 in verse 21. It says, for He hath made Him to be sinned for us who knew no sin that we might be made, the righteousness of God in Him. What a grand verse this one is. And it’s telling us here that Jesus Christ was absolutely without sin. He knew no sin, yet God made him to be sin for us.

Your sins, my sins, were laid upon Christ, and he who knew no sin was made to be sin in order that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. Most people never talk about it, but the requirement for heaven is very plainly stated throughout the New Testament that you have to be as righteous as God to be able to live in heaven. I was never told that. I was raised in church for my first 18 years and I was confirmed and baptized, homogenized, pasteurized, and baptized, and you name it.

I went through it. Nobody ever told me I had to be as perfect as God. Once you recognize that you see how helpless we are to save ourselves, we could never reach that gold. We could never become good enough to be able to enter heaven because the requirement is righteousness. have to be as righteous as God. The Bible says in Romans 3.23, we’ll all have sinned, and the word sinned from the Greek means to miss the mark. So we’ve missed the mark.

We’ve come short of the glory or the righteousness of God. We have to be as righteous as God and we’ve all come short of that. Do you know anyone who is as righteous as God? No, there’s no one. The Bible says in Romans 3 10 there’s none righteous. No, not one. Not one soul is as righteous as God by our righteous deeds. But you know, the Bible tells us that when you trust Christ, because God made Christ to be sinned for you, that we would be made the righteousness of God in him.

In other words, a substitutionary event took place at the cross. Your sins were laid upon Christ past, present, and future. He paid for them in full. And when you trust that He did that for you, then God credits your account with His very own righteousness. righteousness. That’s got to be the best news that you will ever hear and I hope that you’re listening carefully right now. Some of the newer translations kind of really destroy this whole meaning. One of them is called the Good News Bible.

Maybe you’ve heard of the Good News Bible. I really sometimes tease and call it the Bad News Bible because they pervert so many verses. It says in 2 Corinthians 5, 21 in the Good News Bible that Christ was without sin. At least they got that much right. But then it goes on to say that Christ who was without sin was made to share our sin in order that we might share His righteousness. What is wrong with that? What is wrong with that?

Well obviously the word share destroys exactly what took place at the cross. That implies that Christ paid for part and you pay for part. So if Christ paid for part of your sin and you pay for part, then you get in according to the good news Bible. That is certainly not true. But yet a lot of people are taught that and believe that and are wrong and really will not go to heaven. What does it mean if If you share, well, let’s say that Christ even paid for 99% of your sin and you only had to pay for 1%.

My friend, you’d be in hell forever and ever and ever. The Bible tells us in Romans 623, the wages of sin singular is death. In other words, it doesn’t take a lot of sin. It takes only one sin to cause you to go to hell. The payment for sin, death is really referring to the second death which in Revelation chapter 20 verse 14 says that they were cast into the everlasting lake of fire, this is the second death. So the second death is the eternal separation of the lost from God in hell forever and ever and ever.

Obviously, you don’t want that to happen to you. And so Christ paid it all. I love the fact that the Bible teaches that Jesus paid for every sin, every sin that you would ever commit in your entire life, every past sin, every present sin, every future sin was paid for by Christ’s death. Let’s quote this wonderful verse again here in 2 Corinthians 5, 21. It says that God made Christ to be sin for us. to new no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

Wow, what a great verse. It’s saying that God did it all, that God took your sin. My sin, past, present, and future, laid it upon Jesus Christ. He paid for it in full by his death. And then he was buried, and then he rose again from the dead. He’s alive forevermore. And when you trust that payment that he made for you, God will credit your account with God’s very own righteousness. Isn’t that great? Right now God sees me, views me as being righteous.

Even though I’m still a sinner, even though I’m still here in my freshly body with my own nature, I am declared righteous in God’s sight. the Bible, Bible tells us that throughout the Bible. Whenever the Bible talks about somebody righteous, it’s always talking about a believer. Because again, Romans 3-10 says there’s none righteous, no, not one. So no one can be declared righteous based upon their works and their deeds, their filthy rags in God’s sight. But a believer is declared righteous at the moment of belief.

Genesis 15-6 tells us about how Abraham was saved. And it says Abraham believed God. God in that chapter described the Savior coming of his seed. And it says he believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness. Abraham was saved by faith without works and so has everyone down through time been saved by faith without works. Nowhere does the Bible ever say that there’s anything required on our part to do but simply receive what God accomplished and finished for us at the cross.

That’s the good news. God made Christ to be sinned for us. Christ who knew no sin, but we might be made the righteousness of God. Definitely has become one of my favorite verses and what a great verse it is. As a result, you and I can be absolutely certain right now that if we were to die, that we would go to heaven, not because of anything we have done, not because of anything we will do or not do, but because of what Jesus Christ did for us at the cross that He came and took our sin, all of it, past, present, and future, and died for it, and paid for it on the cross was buried and rose again from the dead when we trust Him as that Savior who died in our Our place, God credits our account with righteousness.

So every believer is declared to be righteous. It’s amazing though a lot of people mystifying the terms. The word just or justified is referring to somebody who has been declared legally righteous in God’s court of law. It’s actually a legal term, and justification is about that act that takes place at the moment of belief when you’re declared righteous by God based upon the fact that Jesus substituted himself in your place and made the full and complete payment for your sin at the cross.

I heard a preacher just yesterday describe a person who is just in the Bible, Noah, speaking about his character and this is how he lived. He was a just man, a fair man, a man that did things white and that’s not what the meaning is at all. Absolutely totally wrong. The Bible describes a just man as one who is justified and somebody wants to find justified as a simple way of remembering it just as if I had never sinned.

Just as if I had never sinned. Just as if I had never sinned. God views the believer as righteous. Just as if I had never sinned a single sin. That’s what 2 Corinthians 5, 21 is all about. That God made Christ to be sinned for us, Christ who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. Are you as righteous as God? Unless you are, you cannot enter heaven. I don’t care how many works you do.

I don’t care how many hours you spend in church. I don’t care how many services you attend. I don’t care how many times you’ve been baptized or whether you’ve been confirmed or whether you attend regularly. It has nothing to do with that because you have to be righteous and as righteous as God in our heaven. And none of us can never meet that qualification. We’ve all sinned. We’ve all missed the mark. We’ve all come short of God’s righteousness or glory.

And therefore God provided that righteousness through Christ death. And again, 2 Corinthians 5, 21 says that God made Christ to be sin for us, Christ who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God. So its condition will upon our trusting Christ as Savior. The moment you believe, the moment you trust Christ, you are made the righteousness of God. And God sees you as absolutely righteous. And throughout the Bible you see the people that are called righteous.

And they were sinners just like you and me. But they trusted in the Savior and were declared righteous by God in this court of law because the sin debt was paid for in full by Jesus Christ. The one who was without sin became sin so that we might be made His righteousness. Isn’t that great? It really is good news. I never heard that. I never heard that. In the 18 years I was raised in church prior to my salvation, nobody ever told me I had to be as righteous as God to go to heaven.

Then nobody told me the good news was that Christ died and paid my sin debt in full. My past present and future sins were paid for at the cross so that I could be declared legally before God’s presence, righteous as righteous as God because there was an exchange. Christ’s righteousness is exchanged by God for our sin. As God made Christ to be sin, Christ who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. I’m Dr.

Hank Lindstrom, and this is Bibleline. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida. Our nationwide toll-free number is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. We invite you to call us and we hope that you’ll take advantage of the opportunity and we’ll try to answer your questions on the air. We have lots of all fair questions. We’ll see if we can get to a few more of them today. But right now we have Scott in Tampa, Florida and Scott, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Air.

Scott, are you there? Yes, I’m here. Okay, you’re on the air. Do you have a question? Yes. I was talking with my wife and she just started reading the Bible. And then Genesis, I believe it’s chapter 8, they were talking about the Nephilim. And she was telling me that the Nephilim were like fallen angels that didn’t follow Satan. I don’t quite believe that. Also, just a little bit before that, they were talking about the sons of God. And she said that those were angels, but then when I was reading in Romans this morning, I think it was like around chapter 7, it said that we are the sons of God.

And I showed her that in the Bible and she agreed with me. But then she wanted to know who the Nephilim were. I believe that they were like giants in my understanding. Where did they come from? Who are their ancestors? It talks about in Genesis, right around chapter 8 where Noah had just gotten off and he had repopulated this curious. First of all, who are the Nephilim? Okay, let’s go back to Genesis chapter 6. This is where it is.

And here it talks about the sons of God, married the daughters of men. What we have here is believers called the sons of God, marrying unbelievers. These are not angels. This is a big mistake that a lot of people make. But let me just give you one verse that really slams the door shut on this whole thing. Hebrews 1-5 tells us that God never called an angel his son. So in the story right there, Hebrews 1-5, God never called an angel his son.

Secondly, Matthew 22-30, Jesus said that angels do not marry. They don’t marry and they don’t have children. So that is number two strike, no angels here in this chapter. Also it’s amazing to me that people don’t read their Bible very carefully, but it says in verse four there were giants in the earth in those days. And then it says, and after that, after that, after that, the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men and bear children to them, and these are the Nephilim that you’re talking about.

giants, the Nephilim were there prior to the marriages. So obviously they were not the result of the marriages and yet I hear all the time that these marriages produce these children. That’s not true at all. And they were giants. They were giants later. Goliath was a giant. And I think we have giants today. They’re playing on the NFL football teams and they’re in the National Basketball League and so on. up. Lots of big guys today are huge and it’s amazing how quick and how strong they are.

Well, they’re still around today. And of course, these were giants of those days prior to the flood. All of them drowned in the flood. There were none of them remaining later, but yet it’s in our genes apparently. And there were some giants that came along later that David faced the life, as you might remember, and his brothers were also pretty big boys as well. I hope that helps. Thank you, Scott, for calling in. I will now go to Ken in deltona, Florida, and Ken, welcome to my blind you are on the air.

Hi, Pastor. Well, this is Ken Beat from Delft, on Florida. Yes, sir. My wife and I were wondering, did our names get on the… I would have to check with… We’ve got a lot of names on there, and I’d have to check to find out. I’ll get my Staff to take a look and see you want to call back after the show and we’ll take a look. Yes. Yes I didn’t mean to call you through the show, but I just got connected here.

Okay How’s it going? Thank you, Pastor. Alright, thank you so much as Ken, what a good Israel. That’s great. And if you want to go, we’re going to leave the last week of February and that’ll be on a Monday and return the last day, the Friday of the first week of March, which will be the seventh and we’ll have a great time during all of Israel and I will be trip number 15. We’ll have a great time. I hope you can go.

We now have Tony and he is in plant city Florida. Tony, welcome. Welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Good morning Hank, how are you? Good. Alright, I’m having some troubles with understanding Melchizedek and I was wondering if you could talk about it a little bit and maybe if you have any, I guess, study information or anything at the church that might be able to get on it. Sure. I really, I really had a loss of words when it comes to Melchizedek.

He was a, he was Jesus, right? I believe so. I’m going to hang up and let you talk about it. I’ll call back later and get some information on it. I did a whole series on the book of Hebrews and definitely we thoroughly covered Melchizedek in that Hebrews series. That’s 10 hours of teaching verse by verse, dealing with all the difficult verses in Hebrews. Anyway, in Hebrews chapter 7, it tells us about Melchizedek that he in verse 3 is without father, without mother, without descent, neither having the beginning of days nor end of life being made like unto the Son of God.

Well, I think that tells it all. He’s obviously not your average guy because he doesn’t have a father and doesn’t have a mother. So he doesn’t have a lineage. He doesn’t have any ancestry and he doesn’t have a beginning of days, nor did end of life. He is the eternal second member of the Godhead, the Son of God. And that’s what it says here. He is made like unto the Son of God. So Jesus made a pre incarnate appearance there to Abraham in chapter 14 of Genesis and He appeared as Melchizedek.

And it tells us here also in verse 2 here that his name by interpretation means King of righteousness. Only God is righteous within himself. Jesus is righteous as we just covered earlier in 2 Corinthians 5, 21. Christ who knew no sin was made to be sinned for us so that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. Also it says here it means after that King of Salem. Salem is a form of Shalom which means peace. means peace.

So he is the king of peace. Obviously that’s Jesus. I don’t think there’s any question about it. Jesus did appear to Abraham and in John chapter 8, Jesus in the New Testament said that he appeared to Abraham and Abraham saw him and was glad. And those who heard Jesus say that said, you’re not even 50 years old. Are you telling us that you’ve seen Abraham? And then Jesus said before Abraham ever existed, I have existed from eternity and that nails it.

Jesus is the eternal Son of God. The eternal existence doesn’t have a beginning, doesn’t have an ending, but then intercept time and appear to Abraham and Abraham saw him. And this is one of those appearances that we read about in the Old Testament. Thank you Tony and hopefully that answered your question. My series on Hebrews will give you a good study on that. We now are going to Julian in Tampa, Florida and Julian welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.

Julian, are you there? Yes. Okay, you’re on the air. Speak up. Yes, my name is Julia and I’m calling no regarding passage in the Bible. Go ahead, we’re waiting. You’re on the air right now. What is the passage? The passage concerning Jesus when he was a young boy and he was the story about him being playful with his brother. I wanted to know who was his brother and the probability of Jesus after his Christ’s birth. I was never mentioned anymore until he was preaching a gospel with the disciples.

Well, first of all, there is no reference like you’re referring to. He does talk about he has brothers, but it doesn’t even introduce the fact that he does until Mark chapter 6 and he’s already… He’s a child-hood brother. There are four boys mentioned in Mark’s Gospel chapter 6. We find that those were the natural children of Mary and Joseph. Jesus had at least four brothers. They’re named by name in Mark 6. Then it says sisters. We don’t know how many sisters he but that was a minimum of six children that Mary and Joseph had that are the half brothers of Christ.

But it doesn’t talk about any other activity. Now there are false writings or the one called the Embassy of Christ, which is pure fiction, talks about him making birds out of play and breathing life into those kind of things, but that’s all phony-blowny. That is not true at all. So thank you, Julia, for calling in today and we are going to have to get ready for break here because that time is going so quickly. But we’re going to go half hour more and we invite you to stay tuned to maybe call in and get your question answered.

We’ve got lots of people still waiting to get up on the air and I hope everyone listening today has trusted Jesus Christ as Savior. Just telling Lord I’m the sinner but I believe Jesus paid my sin doesn’t fold. trust him right now to save me. Also, if you’d like to help Bibleline, we could use your financial help. Pray for us. And if you want to give a gift, you can do it by credit card over the phone. Also, we have many resources that would make a great Christmas gift and also would help Bibleline call to get your resource list.

And we have to run, but we’ll be right back. So stay tuned right here. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. You’ll actually be able to watch and listen to the service on Sunday morning.

And many people are really enjoying that, including we have people in Europe that are watching, and England and Sweden and other countries are tuning in to the worship service live, and many go back to it. On our website, we have a little seven-minute presentation right at the beginning when you first click on. You can bypass that or watch that, but last month for the month of October, my webmaster, David, told me that we had 3,490 people that watched just that video.

Isn’t that amazing? We’re getting a lot of traffic on our website, and 3,490 people watched just that seven-minute gospel video. That’s exciting. And we hope that you will take a look at it as well. And by the way, you’re welcome to take a link that to your site. A lot of people are doing that, and we have a little thing on the right-hand side of it. If you go look at that page when it comes up where you can link it to your website, it will tell you how to do that.

And a lot of people want their friends who go to their website to get saved. And so they have that little link of a seven-minute presentation, and you’re welcome to use that for free on your website. Go there and click on it and figure out how to hook that up here with your website. It’s quite simple and if you can’t do it, we’ll try to help you accomplish that. But again, we are looking forward to seeing you someday if not here on this earth.

Certainly we’re going to meet in the air. But if you ever come into Tampa from out of town, come on by and knock on the door and say hello. We’re right next to the airport. Easy to find. You’ll find our resource centers open every day until about 4.30 if you come by. You can always come by on a worship day as well. Thanksgiving is coming up in just less than 10 days. You’re welcome to come and join us for our Thanksgiving celebration dinner. and celebrate Thanksgiving in our morning worship service on the 18th. And then after church will have a wonderful dinner in our fellowship hall, you’re welcome to come and join us and have maybe some of that first turkey of the season when you come to our Thanksgiving celebration dinner on the third Sunday of the month of November, the 18th of November.

Come on and join us for that day. Those of you that live with them driving distance. Again, you can always join our worship services by going to the internet and clicking on the camera and you can do that live on Sunday mornings by clicking on that camera on objectionableuyomi page at 11 o’clock. That’s when you’ll be able to see the live service. But you can go during the week and watch these sermons anytime you want. There’s a year’s worth sitting there for you to take a look at.

We have lots of people calling in and we’re going to try to get some off-air questions We have Barbara and she’s down in Riverview, Florida and we’re now going to talk to Barbara. Barbara, welcome to Bibleline. Hey, good morning, Dr. Hank. I have a question here. I’ve been checking to try to find something about Daugherty and Angels from the Bible. And I haven’t been able to find it. Are there such a thing? There are. That’s Hebrews 113. And it tells us that angels, God’s angels, the angels that did not follow Satan are assigned to each and every one of us.

So we have Guardian Angels. We’re not trying to try to contact them. That’s dangerous. Because you’ll get connected with the wrong kind of angels. angels. But we are not to pray to angels. We are simply to look to God for our protection and if we need angels to protect us, He will send them our way. I think the way some of our Christians sometimes are driving on the interstate, they probably need a lot of guardian angels to watch over them.

Well, where is that found in the Bible? Hebrews 1 verse 13. Hebrews 1 verse 13. 13-14, huh? Okay, is there anything, any other one? That’s primarily yet, we know that angels perform many tasks and they apparently also escort the soul of the believer to be with the Lord of Death. We know that in Luke 16 when the beggar Lazarus died, it says the angels escorted him to Paradise where Abraham and all the other believers were. So we believe that they perform many different tasks and obviously are assigned to do these things and so they’re kept quite busy.

So, Luke 16 is your verse? 19 to the end of the chapter it’s somewhere early on right after verse 19 probably in the 20s somewhere in there. Okay, thank you so very much. Well, you’re very welcome, Barbara, and thank you for being patient and waiting online to get that answer. Yes, there are guardian angels, but you know if you go into some of the secular bookstores, they have whole sections on angels and a lot of the material is wrong.

Many books are written on how to contact your angels. I noticed I went on the internet and typed in angels and I got all these sites that would tell me how to contact my guardian angel and converse with them and I could know the names of those angels and so on. That is forbidden in the Bible. We’re not to try to contact angels. We’re not to pray to angels. Nor are we to pray to the dead, all of that is forbidden.

And when you get into that area, you really then allow the door to be open for Satan to deceive you because he definitely would love to get you in on his territory where he can confuse you. And there’s only one mediator to get to God so we don’t want to pray to the dead. And by the way, Mary is in that category. To pray to Mary is to pray to the dead because she is just the same as all of us.

As humans, when we die, we are believers. If we are believers, we go to heaven. We’re absent from the body, present with the Lord. But we are, you can’t pray to us. We’re only to pray to God the Father through Jesus Christ. First Timothy 2, 5 says, there’s one God and one media to between God and the man Christ Jesus. There is only one media to pray through is Christ not through Mary or any of the dead or through angels.

Watch out for false teaching about angels. There is a ton of it out there. A lot of people are deceived by it. We have a number of all fair questions here. I will try to take a couple of those. We have here David in Richmond, Virginia, writes this offer a question he sent to us, and he says, Santa, isn’t it interesting that Santa bases his giving based upon whether children are naughty or nice, works, while God bases his giving of eternal life on trust in Jesus or grace.

That is a very fascinating thought, David, and you’re absolutely right. Satan wants us to think we get to heaven by works. And Satan also bases his giving, based upon whether we’re naughty or nice, which is works. While eternal life in the Bible is always a gift. I think we had a call yesterday that was talking about eternal life being a reward. Well that is not true because rewards are earned and you’ll never, never find the Bible violate that wonderful truth that eternal life is a gift.

And every place you find that eternal life is spoken of, it is the gift of God. It is an inheritance, something that is given as a gift by God to those that are born again and to his family. We now have Lloyd in Clearwater, Florida, and Lloyd, welcome to my blind. You’re on the air. Okay, good morning, Dr. Good morning. I got a quick quick question. You know in Matthew, I’m not sure where it’s at, but it said about, you know, if you interfere with the children coming to the Lord, that’s better that a millstone be tied around your neck and thrown into the lake or river.

Correct. Yes, it’s right. Right. Okay. But so here’s my question. Say that a child being raised in Catholicism or some other thing. Wouldn’t that be attributed to the hierarchy of that religion. Absolutely. I believe that there are degrees of punishment, and it seems like people that are religious teachers are going to be held very accountable. In Matthew 23, Christ brings a judgment or indicts the religious community and he says, .

. . woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. . And he talks about that they were not only not going to heaven themselves, but they . were deceiving those who would go to heaven and preventing them from finding out how to . . be saved. And therefore he said they would receive a greater degree of damnation and health. .

. So you’re absolutely right. I remember reading about that, about how the higher you are going to be, just like a corporation, sort of speaking. Absolutely. And so that’s going to be true. And to mislead the congregation as to how to go to heaven is obviously a serious thing. I think they really ought to quit and do something else rather than be responsible for having misled people and have God really been angry at you, not only being lost but also then to be assigned a terrible degree of punishment and hell as a result of it.

Correct. Now another thing, Doctor, if you have a minute, that’s a teenager and really believes in Christ. But it’s not that, I mean, they’re laying this underplate, the parents are laying this under plate, and they see this. How much accountability do you think is there? I mean, do you think? That by believing in Christ as their Savior, but having to go along with certain traditions, what do you think the line has drawn in the sand, so to speak? Well, I think we’re obviously accountable as to the amount of light that we have received.

children usually see through a lot of the nonsense sometimes when they see the the truth they usually see it pretty clearly and they realize that some things just aren’t consistent. When, for example, I’ve had people, many people tell me, you know, at one point it was a mortal sin to eat meat on Friday and then all of a sudden they changed the rules and now it’s no longer a mortal sin and for many people that have told me about their experience with that, they decided, well, how can that be?

Because truth doesn’t change. How can it be that people that lived a few years ago went to hell because they ate meat on Friday, but now people can eat meat on Friday and they won’t go to hell. That doesn’t make any sense at all. So there’s a lot of confusing things out there when man changes his rules as he goes, but the Bible never changes. Yeah, well that’s a guy in me up a wall, but I’ll be talking to them their father’s you know my son of a loss And they’ll say well it even my daughter’s well The church is changing and I want to scream you know Yeah, but all I do is when I get my grandchildren as they get older.

I don’t interfere Explain to him that someday, you know their puppies and I sure want to have you guys come along So just remember one thing when Poppy’s gone that you believe He’s a man. And I just let it go with that. Well, that’s great. I think you should witness to your grandchildren. And you know, Timothy talks about how that his grandmother had a great influence upon his spiritual life and shared things with him. And he’s commanded to continue to walk in that good advice that he got from his mother and from his grandmother.

Okay. And so definitely grandparents play an important role there to reinforce these teachings that need to be passed down through the family Right. Okay. I don’t take up all your time, but I appreciate your show. Okay. Thank you. You take care All right, we’re now gonna go The author questions here for a second and see what else we have here. We have Nancy in Wesley Chapel. I think she left this question a few days ago. Galatians 3, 22 through 27.

Well, it’s an interesting chapter in Galatians chapter 3 which this book is one book that every believer ought to read numerous times. It deals with the issues of grace versus works. In Galatians chapter 3 it talks about the law, which is of course the law is given from Mount Sinai. It says in verse 22, which is the verse that you want me to begin with, the scripture have concluded all under sin. It’s pretty plain here that the Bible says Rawl sinners, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that belief.

What’s about as clear as you’re going to get it? The promise of going to heaven, the promise of eternal life, the gift of eternal life, is offered through faith in Christ. And it is, well, let me read the whole verse again. The scripture has concluded everybody understand, all understand. But the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. So when you believe or trust on Christ, you become saved. Verse 23, but before faith came, we are kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterward be revealed.

What it’s talking about there is that the law has a purpose in bringing us to a recognition of our need of Christ. When we realize as we talked about earlier today in the program that we have to be as righteous as down to good in heaven, that’s what the law demanded and that we’re not capable of ever being able to do that. Then we try to look for the solution and the solution is Christ who gives His righteousness to all that would believe on Him.

So in verse 24 it says, Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ that we may be justified by faith. But after that faith has come we are no longer under a schoolmaster. So the The law is like a teacher and it brings us to trust Jesus as our Savior to get the righteousness that the law demands that we’re not able to get based upon our works and our deeds. We have to have God’s righteousness imputed or credited to our account as a result of faith.

I hope that helps Nancy and Wesley Chapel. We now have Skip and Clearwater and Skip, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Oh brother Hank, I just want to ask that I know I’ve heard you mentioned it before but in Luke 3 16 we end up he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire. Okay there are two baptisms that Christ baptizes with and that’s Matthew 3 16 and if you’re a believer you are baptized with the Holy Spirit which is the operation of God whereby he places you into the body of Christ.

It says in 1 Corinthians 1213 by 1 Spirit, are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jew or Greek or Bond or Free? We’ve all been made to drink into one spirit. So the Holy Spirit takes us and places us into Christ’s body. Verse 27 of 1 Corinthians 12 goes on to say, now you as believers are the body of Christ and members of particular. So we’re placed in the Christ body and that is of course through of every believer and that is of course our salvation experience.

But if you’re not a believer, Christ will baptize the ones that are not believers with fire. So the baptism of fire is hell. You don’t want that baptism. Some churchism seem to imply that they offer it, but you don’t want that. I think some churches deliver on that promise too, but you don’t want the baptism of fire. talks about in Matthew chapter 3 in verse 12 how the fire will burn up the chafe with an unquenchable fire. That’s the unquenchable fire of hell.

And definitely we hope that you would not experience that second baptism. But the baptism will always be the one that you receive at the moment you believe. Every believer receives that by one spirit are we all baptized. says in 1st Corinthians 1213. I hope that helps. This is us. Thank you very much. All right. And that was skip in Clearwater. We have a video in our Resource Center, a DVD. A gift of $10 which is on the life of Martin Luther the Reformer.

And it is really powerful. I think it will bring you to tears. And as you see, what happened in those times, and the tremendous stand that Martin Luther took to proclaim salvation by faith and not by works. and we have that for a gift of ten dollars. It’s a nice presentation and very powerfully done. I’ve seen several, but this one is the best. It is black and white. It was produced a number of years ago. We hope that you’ll take advantage of some of those things. We have a lot of things in our resource center and it would be helpful to you. Again, we are going to plan to go to Israel in the last week of February and the first week of March this coming year.

And get your name on that list, call in and put your name on that list and we’ll be glad to get you the literature and you can make your decision. Hopefully, go with me on trip number 15 for me. We’re planning our last day to have communion at the Tomb of Christ and what a way to highlight and in the trip on a high note spiritually, thinking about what Christ did for us at the Cross as we sit in the open air, looking at Calvary and staring over at the Tomb and remembering the Lord’s death.

Well we have here Edgar in Spring Lake, North Carolina and he leaves us an offer a question he says referring to the book of Romans, what does it mean for a believer to be dead to sin? Well I’m not sure exactly which verse you’re referring to but we are as a believer dead to the consequences of sin. In other words, we will never go to hell as a result of our sins because Christ has paid for them. So obviously sin can no longer, as it says in Corinthians, death where is I sting, grave where is thy victory?

As a believer, we have had the victory over sin through Christ on the cross of Calvary and therefore we no longer will experience that eternal consequence of going to hell because of our sin because Christ paid for it. But then because of that, it says we should no longer live in sin. We should attempt to live for Christ every day as a believer and that’s when we’ll experience God’s rewards and blessings in our life. All right, we have Damien in Tampa Florida calling in with this offer question.

He says, what is the biblical difference between killing and murder? Well, in the 10 commandments in the Bible, it says I’ll show it not killed. It really means murder. Obviously, some people have taken that verse to the extreme and I remember as a little boy being misled a little bit and I was afraid to step on an ant because I thought it’d be guilty of breaking one of the 10 commandments. So as you walk down the sidewalk on the way to school as a little boy, if I saw an ant, I would try with all my being to not accidentally step on that ant and kill it.

But that’s not what it’s talking about. So to take another human life and the Ten Commandment, the word from the Hebrew means that and it’s not translated very well into the English because kill doesn’t mean that same thing. You can kill insects and obviously we’re not taking other human life. So that’s the answer and that’s the difference. Damien, thank you for calling in. We have We have Billy in Turkeyville. I think that’s Tennessee. I can’t see where that’s at.

But anyway, we’ll find out there in his Tennessee, a Billy and Turkeyville, Tennessee. And he asked about Philippians chapter 3 and verse 6. We just have a second to talk about this. And let me see what that verse says. And Philippians 3, 6 says, concerning zeal, persecuting the church, touching righteousness, which is in law, blameless. Well, Paul was talking about how zealous he was as an unbelievable labor and how he persecuted the church and how he followed the law to the letters best as he could.

And he could say he was blameless and that’s only because he would offer up the sacrifices and do all the things that was required. But that didn’t save him and he realized that. And if you go a little bit further down, we find that Paul talks about you don’t want to stand before God in the righteousness yougregation by the law, but by faith in Christ. That’s the only way you’ll enter heaven. Well, we’re about done today. This is our TV Day.
