Welcome to Bibleline with Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Coming to you from Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida. Declaring God’s love through radio and television. Providing real answers to an ever-searching world. Got a question? Dial toll free at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here’s the host of Bibleline, Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Well, good morning and welcome to Bibleline. I’m preek to be with you today. Thanks for tuning into the broadcast. We look forward to being with you each and every day. Monday through Friday as we come to you live from Tampa, Florida, from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church.
We’re on the pastor. Today is Wednesday. It sure is good to be with you and I thank you for tuning in and I hope you might call somebody and tell them to tune in as well. And we are excited about reaching out to the world really through the Bibleline program. We have 151 countries now that have logged on to the Bibleline program. The new country is New Cal, Caledonia, which is near Australia. And so people really down under, I guess, are hearing the Bibleline program.
And maybe you have friends or relatives or missionaries or people in the military that are in other countries. They can listen to Bible I and they can watch our worship services. And we hope that you’ll let them know. We have an email on my desk this morning from Sweden, from Stockholm, that listen and watch our programs in Sweden. Isn’t that exciting? Well, in any case, welcome all of you that are listening on a broadcast station. We will be on in Miami again and South Florida on WMCM in Miami and that’s 1080 on the dial.
You can tell your friends about that station. We’ll be online at 10 o’clock in the morning just as we are coming out of Tampa at 10 o’clock in the morning. Here we are in our studios and we go live from here by way of digital phone lines to Detroit, Michigan, and Detroit sends our signal up to the satellite, which is orbiting over the equator at 22,500 miles. And then the stations across the country pull our radio program Bibleline off of the satellite, and then they broadcast it out to you that are listening on the radio today.
Isn’t that amazing? So really, my voice has traveled many thousands of miles before it ever was broadcast to you on your local station. That includes Tampa here because my signal goes to Detroit to the equator and back off the satellite even to the Tampa station here where we are broadcasting from. If you have your Bible, get it out. We’ll be taking a look at it. We’ll also, of course, be taking off-air questions. We have a lot of those we’re getting behind in our off-air questions, but we’re going to try to get to them as quickly as we can.
We sure do thank you for listening today. And certainly we want you to know about our website. We have a lot of things on there, including our worship services, which you can catch on any time of day or night by going there and clicking on the camera. If you click on the spinning globe, you’ll get our radio programs. Click on the TV set, you’ll get our television programs. And if you click on the camera, you’ll get our worship services.
And we hope you will. You can do it live on Sunday morning or you can do it anytime during the week. We have a year’s worth of sermons now. Fifty-two messages are there on the website. Getting ready to go to Israel, I should have final confirmation of everything probably today or tomorrow. And we’ll leave the Monday of the last week of February, return on Friday the first week in March, March 7th. And we’ll have a marvelous time. I would love to have you go with me.
It’ll be trip number 15 for me. It’s a Bible study all day long. As every place we go, we open the Bible and talk about what happened there from the scriptures and we’d love to have you on board with us. So if you’re interested, it doesn’t obligate you, but give us your name and your phone number. And as soon as we have the brochures, we’ll get that out to you. Actually, you ought to give us your mailing address, so we’ll just mail you that brochure as soon as we get it in.
But love to have you go. By the way, it’s getting toward Christmas hard to believe that and thanksgiving and this is a good time for you to take a look at our online bookstore. If you want to get a Scofield Bible, I recommend you get that early because last year we ran out and we could not get them even from our supplier until after the new year and that might happen again this year. We’re trying to anticipate that and we certainly hope that you will take advantage.
We’ve got all kinds of wonderful materials, tracks in English and Spanish. We’ve got the Evangelism Handbook in English and Spanish. We’ve got the Scofield Bible in English and Spanish. That’s a beauty. It’s on one page. It’ll be English with the Scofield notes, and on the page across the way, it’ll be Spanish and the Scofield notes. And it’s a neat thing to have, especially if you want to work with both languages. languages. I encourage you to get that Schofield Bible in Spanish and English.
It’s really two Bibles in one because you have the full English and the full Spanish and you can compare verse-to-verse and note-for-note. It’s really exciting. Keep those things in mind. Call and we’ll send you a resource sheet and we’ll be happy to do that. You can also go online to our website BibleLineMinistries.org BibleLineMinistries.org and you can catch our radio and TV programs and worship services, but also you can catch our online bookstore and there you can order directly. Or you can call and place your order.
We’d love to have you call us and talk to us. We’ve got lots of nice notes here and we’ve got one dear lady that listens up in the Pan in the land of Florida and she’s hoping that her sister and family down in South Florida will be able to hear us when we come up on November 26 down there on 1080 out of Miami. So we’re excited about what the Lord is doing and we hope that you are praying for us as we try to reach out to the world.
We’re going to get into the Bible right now and so if you have your Bible there, please opened up as we take a look at a couple of great verses. Let me go to 2 Timothy 2 Timothy 2, and this is a wonderful verse that is very, very essential for the believer. It says here, study to show thyself approved unto God a workman that needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. This is talking to the Christian and we study as a believer so that we might know what work we need to do and how to do that work according to the scriptures so that we might have God’s blessing.
It says to show yourself approved unto God. That means when we stand before the Lord one day at the judgment seat of Christ that God will say, well done, well good and faithful servant. So in order to be approved as a workman, notice not to be saved, we’re saved by simply trusting Jesus as our Savior. Let me drop back to 1 Timothy chapter 1 for just a moment. And it says in verse 9, God who has saved us and called us, that means He invited us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and group race, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.
You know the plan of salvation was something that God designed before the earth was created. And so what happened at the cross was not an accident. It was not something that just kind of happened. It was something that was pre-planned by God. Jesus Christ went to the cross and it was a fulfillment of the plan of God in order to to redeem mankind. So are studying the Bible, going to church, reading the Bible, telling others, living the Christian life had nothing to do with our salvation.
Notice 1st 9, 1st of 2nd Timothy 1, verse 9, God saved us and invited us to be saved with a holy invitation from God himself. And it says, you’re not according to our works, not according to our works, not according to our works. Most people are works oriented. Most people think you have to work your way to heaven. And when you tell them that you’re saved, then they say, well, if you don’t continue in your works, you won’t stay saved because you’ll lose your salvation.
That is so, so, so, so, so wrong. Because you see salvation never has anything to do with our works before or after we make our decision to trust Christ. When we receive this invitation to be saved, which is God’s invitation to every human being, and that invitation is extended right up until you draw your last breath. The dying thief is a classic example as he was there just about ready to die and he puts his trust in Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ says today, thou shalt be with me in paradise.
Isn’t that wonderful? So we know that Christ died for our sins and when you trust him, it’s at that moment you receive eternal life. That dying thief was given assurance at that moment as he told the dying thief today. Thou shalt be with me in paradise. The dying thief would have probably died in moments after he had gotten saved, but yet he had the assurance that he would be in paradise with the Lord that very day. Isn’t that exciting?
You know, right now I know I have eternal life. I’m absolutely sure of it. I’m more sure of that than anything else because, you know, the Word of God is going to outlast the planet Earth. If you think the earth is eternal, you’re mistaken because we find that God is going to destroy this earth by fire and create a new heavens and new earth. And the city I’m living in, Tampa will be destroyed. All the cities on the earth, Washington, D.C., Moscow, London, Rome, every city on the earth will be destroyed as the earth will go up in smoke.
and God will create a new heavens and a new earth. And so there’s nothing lasting here on this earth. If your hopes and your plans are for this earth, then my friend, you’re going to be sadly disheartened when it all comes crashing down. But you know the things that are eternal are the things that we do for God after we become saved. I love that old hymn. This world is not my home. I’m just passing through. My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue.”
Well, you know, that’s really what the Christian ought to be focusing on. The fact that this world is not my home. I’m temporarily here, but my real home is in heaven because I’ve trusted Jesus Christ as my Savior, and I have a mansion prepared for me there where I’ll live with the Lord forever and ever. And my treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue. nothing of this world is lasting. We can only send treasure ahead as we choose to live for the Lord while we’re here on this earth.
How about you? What are you doing on earth for heaven’s sake? That’s a great question to ask because only the things that we do on this earth for Christ will last and only those things will bring about eternal reward. So salvation is a gift. 2 Timothy 1-9 God saved us and called us with a holy invitation to calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace. So God chose to save people based upon mercy, grace, and merit in favor, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.
So God already determined how people would be saved, not by works but by grace before the earth was ever founded. But then he talks about us, after we’re saved, being able to be workmen for him. And the rewards will be the benefit by living for Christ or serving him. Let me quote the verse again now in 2 Timothy 2.15, study to show thyself approved unto God. You have to realize that approval there is not for salvation. That approval took place at the cross and all that place of trust in Christ that the cross received the gift of everlasting life.
But the approval here is that the judgment center of Christ, when believers will give an account one day, and God will say, well done to those who have worked according to the scripture. It says here that we might be found approved unto God as workmen that need not to be ashamed. There will be believers who will be ashamed that they didn’t serve the Lord, that they didn’t do anything for God, that they didn’t have the foresight to believe God.
concerning the Christian life. Now you might have believed on Christ the Savior and received eternal life and that is wonderful because you will absolutely be in heaven as a result of that choice to trust the finished work of Christ. But it doesn’t exempt you from being ashamed one day and not having rewards in heaven because you didn’t serve the Lord. So the Bible tells us what we need to do, how to do it, and we can become workmen that need not to be ashamed.
and then it says, rightly dividing the word of truth. Now what does that mean? It means setting the truth of God’s Word in right order. It’s amazing how many people do not rightly divide the word of truth. There’s a tremendous difference between the first coming of Christ and the second coming of Christ. There’s a tremendous difference between the rapture and the second coming of Christ. There’s a tremendous difference between being saved And living the Christian life. These are separate doctrines and you need to be able to separate them as you study the Bible as we just did here.
Say, 2 Timothy 1, 9, we talked about salvation, which was something that was given to us in Christ before the world began. Salvation, not by works, but by grace. Then we find as we write and divide, we go to 2 Timothy 2.15 and we talk about the Christian life and there it tells us that we need to study so that we can be approved of God as workmen that don’t have to be a shame-bundling day one day when we stand before the Lord to give an account for what we’ve done since we’ve been saved.
So it’s very important. And by the way, on our website, on the left side of the home page, we right now just have three books there but you can read them on the website and the first one of course is the handbook to evangelism the whole book is there you can read you can download and print out chapters or portions and I still recommend you get a hard copy in your hand and we have that here at our Resource Center but you can read it right there on the internet also we have a second book they’re called rightly dividing the Word of Truth by Dr.
C. I. Scofield. The entire 10 chapters are there. I recommend you read that or get a copy of it. You can contact us to get a copy, but you can read it right on the website. Also, we have one a third book called, Wrongly Dividing the Word of Truth by Dr. Harry Ironsides, a pastor of the Moody Memorial Church for 18 years after DL Moody had died. Excellent books and I recommend them to you and we have them on our website so you can read them.
There’s so much on our website. A lot of people haven’t even noticed, but I hope you’ll check those things out. I’m Dr. Inchlin from This Is Bimeline. Our desire is that you would come to know Jesus as your Savior and how wonderful we hear so often people tell us that they got saved through Bibleline. One fellow came in last week and he said, you saved me. Of course, I can’t save anybody. I just can point to the one who can save you.
And that is Jesus. I can only tell you about how he paid your sin debt, how he shed his blood, how he was buried, how he came back from the dead. And if you trust in Jesus, Jesus saves you. But it’s It’s a compliment certainly to hear that it was through our program, Bibleline, that they heard that message and got saved. And I know that they really mean that, but they say sometimes you saved me, which of course is not true.
I’m just the messenger. And all of us should be messengers and workmen for God. And doing it according to the Bible, giving the message out correctly and then making sure that we are following the rule book here which is the Bible. Again I’m not going to go to the phone lines we have a number of people calling in the number is 1-800-576-3771 nationwide anywhere in the United States you can call us on that 800 number 1-800-576-3771 and even from Canada North American continent.
We have had a couple of callers here lately from Canada listening to Bible and I’m sure it must be on the internet. Our New York station might bleed over into southern Canada. Maybe that’s the way they hear it. But here we go. We’re going to go to one in Sarasota, Florida and one. Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the year. Okay. You have a question? One? Yes, I got a question. Okay, go for it. Ask it. You’re near. Yes sir.
I was talking to one of my friends about salvation at night and he said, one, by the way you’re saying it and I said it is simple. Because we make it seem hard for ourselves to make it difficult for ourselves. And I told him, our salvation, he said, no we don’t. We’ve got to work for it. Trust means you’ve got to follow this way and you follow this way. Every word will be salvation. And I told them.
When following, have you followed to get the reward? Yeah, this is called rightly divided in the word truth. One like we’ve just been speaking about here is what you might want to point out. The word reward is never used about salvation. Salvation Romans 623 is the gift of God. Ephesians 2 8, Salvation is the gift of God. And so salvation is a gift, a reward is something earned or deserved and rewards are separate from salvation. So, to say that eternal life is a reward is not correct.
That’s wrongly dividing the Bible. That’s why that verse that we cover today is so important. He is obviously not paying attention to the meaning of words and eternal life is God’s gift, but rewards are earned by our service after we become saved. And so if he’s thinking he has to earn salvation, which is what he’s saying that eternal life is a reward based upon his earning it, he will go to hell. He will not be saved unless he receives the gift that God has purchased and offered free to us.
And then if he serves, he will earn rewards afterward. And you’re right on, Juan, and I pray that you can get that across to him. But he’s obviously not rightly dividing the Bible. Salvation is never spoken of as a reward. You can’t find one verse that would imply that eternal life is a reward or something earned. gift. Yep, and I told him that. But the way he tries, he says, no, if I see it, like the pastor, if he said an example, We don’t go to the wolves.
The wolves come to us. The one. And the one. And then once he goes away, he gets out because he’s able to take you away. That wolf will eat you. And I said, well, where’s that? Where’s that guy flying to us? That he will be there today, tomorrow, forever. Just keep checking away at that, keep chipping away because obviously we cannot become lost once it becomes saved, or eternal life is not eternal. If it’s eternal and you receive it, at the moment you believe, which is what John 3 16 says, that you have present tense verb, everlasting life, at the moment you believe, it’ll be everlasting life tomorrow, it’ll be everlasting life next week, it’ll be everlasting life next year, it’ll be everlasting life a hundred years from now, it’ll be everlasting life a billion years from now.
In other words, it’ll never end, it’s forever. And if you possess it, at the moment you believe you’ll possess it forever because it is everlasting life. I have people tell me all the time that you are confusing me. And I usually respond and say, no, you have been confused. I am unconfusing you. Sometimes people hear things wrong so long that they actually believe it to be true. And when you show them what the Bible has to say, which contradicts what they have believed, then they think the Bible is wrong.
But the Bible is right and they have been wrong all along. I’ll never forget one young lady. She says, you’re confusing me. I said, no, I’m getting you unconfused. You’ve been confused all of your life. Now for the first time you’re hearing what the Bible has to say. And you know, she trusted the Lord and, well, what a wonderful ending to that. She went on to grow in the Lord and serve the Lord. And that’s exciting. Thank you one for that call then in Sarasota, Florida.
We now have Mike and St. Pete. Mike, welcome to Bibleline your On The Air. How you doing, brother? I just want to know how you were biblically diffused the inclusive doctrine that’s coming out if there is no hell and everybody is going to heaven because of it. Well obviously that Satan’s message. He began way back in Genesis telling Eve that she would not die if she took her the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and hell is very clearly taught in the Bible.
In fact, Jesus spoke more about hell than he did about heaven. Jesus in Mark 9 in verse 42, 44 and 46 said, Hell is a place where the soul will never die and the fire will never be quenched. It’s a place of everlasting fire. Revelation 20 talks about Satan being cast into the everlasting lake of fire where he be tormented day and night forever and ever and ever and ever. So if you look at the Scriptures, they are very clear that there is a place of eternal damnation for those that are lost.
The Old Testament teaches that as well as the new. Daniel 12, too, it talks about the eternal contempt and damnation for those that are unbelievers. Nobody wants to die without Christ because if they do, they’ll be forever lost in hell. You don’t want that to happen. All I can tell you is start making a little list of the verses on hell and point out how many times it occurs and how that Jesus spoke more about hell than it is about heaven because he came to deliver us from hell.
That’s the very reason why Christ came. And he died so that we would not have to go there. He made the full payment for our sins. So just keep chipping away with the Bible, point out this is what Jesus said was Jesus lying? Was he mistaken? In either case he couldn’t be the Savior because if he’s lying then he’s not the eternal God of the universe that the The Bible says cannot lie and if he is mistaken, then he is not omniscient.
He cannot be the God of the Bible. The Bible describes that he has to be fully aware that hell is real and he is not lying about it. Hope that helps. Yes, sir. Thank you, Mike. We have lots more callers here. We are going to have to probably hold the next caller off until after the break. Boy, we are having fun here at Bible and I hope you are having fun listening and I hope you’ll tell your friends about the program.
Pray for us and we certainly can use your help financially because we are totally listeners supported and you are the ones who are the heroes that keep this program on the air. If you want to say thank you, you can thank God because he’s the one who’s raised this program up. But thank all those that he’s raised up who give to my blind who enable us to pay the bills and stay on the air. Help us call and you can give a gift by credit card over the phone.
You can also call us for an envelope to be sent and mail your gift to Bible and we’ve got to go to break and we’ll be right back for a second half. So don’t go away. I’ll be right back. The way Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. All right, I’m Dr. England Stromman. We’ll have a marvelous time. I was just there in March of last year, what a grand trip we had. And we’ll be back over in Israel this coming March, the last week of February, the first week of March. Beautiful weather, beautiful time to go. Everything’s turning green, cool weather, light jacket in the morning, take it off by noon and you’ll just enjoy enjoy your whole experience. The hotels are great, the meals are great, and the price will include your airfare and your meals and your hotel.
I hope you’ll plan to go with me. Call us at 1-800-576-3771 and let us know that you’re interested and we’ll be glad to get that information into your hands. We’re excited about all the things that God is doing with Bible and we are now on 151 countries which have logged in on us. The new one is . . . . . . . New Caledonia and that’s near Australia and so we’re down under. People are listening on the underside of the world.
Isn’t that amazing? And I’m amazed. We have a letter on my desk right now from Sweden, an email from Stockholm where they’re listening to Bibleline their daily and also listening and watching our worship services on Sunday in Sweden. Isn’t that exciting? I really think it is. Well, we’re going to rejoin stations that have been on our breaking to the second half of Bible and so stay tuned. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can.
Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright we’re back for that break and this is Bible and it is exciting to be with you and we hope that you’re touching the excitement with me of what is happening. I’ve opened this several letters this morning and it’s some wonderful notes of encouragement. People telling us that they listen every day. We have a lot of people that come by and visit us during the week and visit our Resource Center and most of them tell us they’ve never called Bibleline.
Never! They’ve never called but they listen every day and they come out to visit our Resource Center and say hi. We won’t commute to do the same if you ever are in Tampa or if you live in the Tampa Bay area. and see us sometime. We get calls all the time about directions and so on. And all of that stuff is on the website. You can find the times of our services when we meet, how to get to us.
In fact, if you go to our page that says contact us, you can type in your address. It’s all set to go. It will just all of a sudden come up with a whole series of directions on how to get to us by car. And the map will be there. And it’s all set to go. So we make it really easy for you. Of course, you can always call us and try to direct you in, but we’re on the west side of the Tampa International Airport One block west of the main north-south runways Sometimes when I step outside I feel I can almost slap the airplanes as they come in where that close And that’s the point I’m trying to make is that don’t go too far from the airport or you will be Getting away from bible line because we’re right next to the
Tampa International Airport here in Tampa, Florida Come on by and see us. We’d love to have you do that. We’re planning to go to Israel. The last week of February 2008, we’ll leave on a Monday, that last week, and we’ll come back on March 7th of Friday. We hope that you’ll be joining us for trip number 15 for me. It’s a great spiritual experience. We just had a fellow come by earlier this morning before Bibleline that went with us on our last trip and he’s thinking about going again.
It’s exciting. We had such a good time and we were reminded of some things that happened and we laughed this morning about some of the fun experiences we had while we were there. We hope you’ll plan to go and if you haven’t been baptized, we’ll be happy to baptize you in the Jordan River in Israel. Every trip we always baptize some that have never been baptized and we do it right there in the Jordan River. What a thrill that is to do it right in the very river where Jesus was baptized and experience going into the Jordan River.
Well, we’re going to do a lot of things that are very exciting. We hope that you’ll join us and you’ll have a safe time, you’ll have a wonderful time. We didn’t even really have any incident at all that caused us to ever be in fear in our last trip. We really didn’t see any type of violence and it was just a wonderful, peaceful time. Great hotels, great meals, great fellowship, great Bible study and just an eye-opening experience as we saw the places of the Bible.
Also, we want you to know that Christmas is coming up soon. Maybe you’d like to get some things for gifts and our Resource Center has got a lot of great things in it, but I am sure as last year we ran out of things. People all of a sudden began to call us and we don’t want to have that happen. We’re trying to anticipate that, but let me urge you to do your shopping early to make sure that we don’t run out of, especially the old Scofield Bible, which last year we ran out of, and we were so sad that we had to tell people you’ll have to wait until after the year.
Give your friend a rain check or somehow let them know the Bible will come, but it won’t come until after the year. Well right now we’ve got them but we worry that we might run out. So contact us early. Also we want you to know we are biblically. We are supported by our listeners and we believe that’s bivocally the plan of God because he wants us all to share in the work and in the ministry and in the fruits of it.
You know, all of us are ministers of Christ and some are behind the scenes ministers and as you pray for it, as you give to Bibleline, you are going to share equally with all of us here that are actually putting this program on the air. And we thank God for every one of you, and we could really use your help at this time. We believe that Christ is coming soon. What about you? Look at the world around you and ask yourself, is it the same world it was 10 years ago, 20 years ago, 30 years ago, it’s not?
And I think even the unsaved realize, whoa, what is the future? Scary stuff happening out there with Pakistan. The Bible says that there would be problems without solution, and now they’re worried about who has the finger on the atomic weapons of Pakistan, as apparently they’re going to go to a dictatorship and maybe cut off all ties with maybe the United States, and maybe we won’t be able to count on them as how they might use their weapons of mass destruction, the scary world out there today and I know that those in leadership around the world are really watching what’s happening in Pakistan today, what’s happening in Iran today, what’s happening in the Middle East today, what’s happening with Russia as changes there are happening where it looks like they’re moving back toward a dictatorship and things in China and the sabers rattling and of course
China would like to get rid of Taiwan or take it over. , and I think we’re in the last days. This is a time when Christians ought to step up to the plate and say, let’s get the gospel out. This get as many people saved as we can. Let’s make sure that people hear how they can be saved. And Bible is certainly an opportunity for us to do that. It’s amazing how God uses the small things to do great things.
And basically things, and basically Bible and is exactly that. When God parted the Red Sea, what did He use? One man Moses and a stick in his hand, his staff, and God said, stand still and see the salvation of God. God parted the Red Sea and the children of Israel went across, and then the Red Sea closed. In the whole Egyptian army, the number one superpower in the world at that time was destroyed by God through one man and a stick in his hand.
Certainly he can use you, he can use me, and we can have a great impact. I really believe that God has raised that Bibleline for that purpose as we’re able to be a big voice although we’re small and we are not one of the big players. But we’re becoming a big player as God raises up people like you who pray for and give the Bible and we really, really are dependent upon you. And your help could be really helpful at this time if you would be willing to pray for us.
We would be just so delighted because we know God does answer prayer. And we would be extra delighted if you would help us financially to make sure that we can continue to be on the air where we are and to expand beyond where we are now. God bless you. Thank you in advance for thinking about praying for and giving to Bible. We are now going to go through to Maria in Tampa. She has been waiting patiently and thank you for your patience, Maria.
Good to have you on the air with us today. Thank you. Do you have a question for us? Yes. Yes, I do. Should I go ahead and ask? Oh, yeah. Go ahead. You’re on the air right now. Okay. Fantastic. Dr. Limson, I just want to say first of all, thank you for your show. I listen to you every day and I find you extremely informative. I want to ask you regarding personal direction or instruction in the Bible, for example, against or direction of for health, personal health or against being lazy or sloth, very individual direction for oneself.
Well, you know, the best book probably is the book of Proverbs, which is exactly about personal direction. And it starts off right at the very beginning telling us that the beginning of Wisdom is to trust God and to look to Him for direction. In Proverbs 3, 5, and 6, a couple of my favorite verses. Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not to your own understanding. And all your ways acknowledge Him and He’ll direct your paths. And He gives us all kinds of advice about relationships.
Father, Son, Father, Daughter, Parent, Child, about with neighbors, with enemies, with our finances and are eating and just about everything is all discussed in problems so I would recommend it’s only 31 chapters you can read one chapter a day and get through it once every month. Oh perfect that sounds exactly like what I’m looking for so I appreciate that I have another question. You have mentioned in Revelation it says that God’s gonna throw the devil into you know the fire the a fire.
Is there any chance that the devil can somehow just react and say you know what you’re right I’m gonna lose I give up. I’m sorry you know I mean is there any chance that I could ever happen? Sounds interesting but no because God knows the future and he’s already let us know that Satan’s gonna go down fighting. In fact right at the end of the millennium just before he’s cast into hell there’s one last final battle it’s what I call like custard’s last stand this will be satan’s last last attempt to uh…
for uh… the purpose of god and he rounds up an army of uh… unbelievers at the end of the millennium and the comes against rooseland to destroy christ and of course jesus defeats him rather easily and then takes him casting into the lake of fire verse ten of chapter twenty and there he’ll be told me that day and night forever never Nope, the devil is not going to ever give up, he’s going to go down swinging. Hmm, okay, well it’s too bad for him, right?
That’s right, I’m on the winning side. Alright, well I wish you the best with your show and all of your ministries and I’m hoping to possibly see you guys in February on your trip to Israel. Well, wouldn’t that be wonderful, we’ll have a super good one. Yes. Yeah, so good luck to you and I appreciate everything you’re doing, doctor. Okay, thank you so much. It was Maria in Tampa, Florida. And we’d like to have you think about going to Israel.
Give us your name and address, and we’ll send a brochure out to you. And we should have those brochures shortly, as we should have the final things confirmed with the hotels and those that we’re working with in Israel today, probably. So we shall know very shortly here. We’ll give you a firm price and a commitment as to what we’re gonna do. So call us. We have lots of great offer questions. I’m going to take a few right now, and then we’ll go back to the phone lines.
The phone number, by the way, if you want to call nationwide, is 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. We have Patty in Tampa, Florida. She says, have you heard of the Church of Philadelphia and her doctrine of worthiness? And no, I have not. Now the church in the Bible in Revelation chapter 3, the church at Philadelphia, was a church that was without rebuke as the Lord had a rebuke for each of the seven churches except for that one. The word Philadelphia means brotherly love and that was a church that really was interested in reaching out with the Gospel of Christ and although they were weak yet they were strong because Christ was strong on their behalf and opened a door that could not be shut.
And God used that particular church in a wonderful way. But I’m not too sure about what you’re speaking about, Patty. Please send your question my way again. And this time be more specific about does that apply to right now that there is a church group called that or a cult call that. Let me know what you’re talking about. Thank you, Patty. And I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’d like to find out more. Dave in Paul Meadow, Florida, calls in with this offer question.
He says, what is the fruit and where do I find references in the Bible or what is fruit? Well fruit in the Bible usually is referring to our offspring as believers. The fruit of the believer is another believer. And I recommend you go to John 4 where we have the woman at the well getting saved, going back into the city leading all the men of the city out to the well to meet Christ and Jesus talks about his disciples needed to get busy and reap fruit under life eternal.
He’s talking about obviously souls and you find that in the New Testament Colossians 1 talks about how the gospel came to Colossi and how the people that responded to the gospel and they became fruit. Paul and Romans 113 talked about going to the Romans and bearing fruit there in Rome as he had in other Gentile cities winning people to Christ. So I would recommend you get a concordance. I have the strongest concordance here in our Resource Center. That is incredible.
I think it retails for 35. We have it for 30. It’s over two inches thick, I’m sure. has every word in the Bible, every V, every dowry, end of a shelf, and has by number code system access to the Hebrew and Greek and what it meant original and so on, how it’s translated, and you have access to the scholarship of 200 Greek and Hebrew scholars for a gift of $30. That’s really, really a bargain. And that is a valuable tool.
Now on our website you can go to the Bible and we have a little strong numbers next to each word and you can just put your cursor on those and get the original meanings right off my website for free. But I think the hardback is going to be a great help to you and you’ll find many references. Then there’s also the fruit of the Spirit, but again the fruit of the Spirit is the fruit the Spirit produces, which as the Holy Spirit is non-physical, non-material, the fruit of the Spirit is also non-material.
It’s love and joy and peace and long suffering and gentleness and maintenance and so on. And that is the fruit of the Spirit. But the fruit of the believer is, I believe, other believers. We have Brad up in Richmond, Virginia, and Brad, welcome to Bibleline you’re on here. I just missed what you were saying for the curtain radio down, but is the Greek language Bible that gives the Greek lettering and then underneath it gives the issue. And underneath that it gives the English word.
We have that here in our resource center for gift of $40. It’s called an interlinear. And it’s from the Texas Receptus, which is the Greek text from which the King James came from. And so one line you have the English, and you have the Greek, and you have all of that extra material there. And it’s nice to have to be able to just kind of read along and follow that. We do have it in our resource center right now.
OK, well, I’ll give you a quick break. Alright, thank you Brad and Richmond, Virginia. There’s lots of wonderful tools out there and you know most of the tools have been written to tie you up with the King James and sometimes when you cut yourself loose from the King James you lose the valuable research books that are geared to the King James. So I would recommend that you probably get some of these things that we have and these are all things that I recommend.
I’ve been around for quite a while and I have spent a lot of money on books that I felt are worthless after I’ve actually gotten them. And so we recommend in our resource center are things that I think you can really profit a great deal from there. They’re the best of the best as far as being able to help you. So I encourage you to take a look at our resource center online or call an S for resource list be sent to you.
We’ll do that for you, in Find Castle, Virginia. He leaves an offer a question. He says, Will we know each other in heaven? The answer is yes. Absolutely. We’re going to be meeting with all of our relatives. I like 1st of us all over chapter 4 because it says, I don’t want you to be ignorant concerning those which have died that believe in Christ. He talks about a meeting in the air at the event of the Rapture when all the believers of this age from Pentecost to the Rapture will all be in one place at at one time and it’s called the meeting in the air and what a reunion that will be.
Absolutely, you’ll recognize them. We know that in Matthew 17 at the Mount of Transfiguration, James and John were standing there with Jesus and Peter, rather Elijah and Moses were standing there with Jesus and Peter, James and John were there on the Mount with Christ, were able to recognize them immediately. They’d never seen Moses, they had never seen Elijah, but yet immediately they knew that Moses and Elijah, and I don’t think they were wearing name tags. I really think there’s something about our supernatural bodies that allow us to know each other.
Without a doubt, we’re going to meet each other, fellowship and enjoy each other forever and ever in heaven. Read 1st of Solomonians chapter 4 beginning in verse 13, and then as verse 18 says, comfort one another with these words you will meet your relatives one day. We have now Linda in Spring Hill, Florida. Linda, welcome to Bible Eye and you’re on the air. Good morning Dr. Hank, I’m running in my other radio. I had a comment, I was opening my mail and a long time ago, many years I guess already I had a correspondence with RC Spold, the Sparles Ministry before I knew it was Preterous and so every once in a while they still mail me even though I don’t communicate and they had a conference coming up and I was surprised to see John Garth around there and Joni Erikson, Tata.
And then opening further, occasionally I have my Christmas cards as such from the Holy Land thing in Orlando. I’m out of breath. And here I got a letter with their logo, but it was from Jan and Paul Croch who have I bought up your Lando TV station 52. And then I said, and we bought up the Holy Land experience. And come and see it. We now have dancing water and all this stuff. And I heard and wrote a response.
It was like, do you want further contact? I went, please take me off. and don’t send me any further correspondence. I couldn’t believe it. So I know I guess since they were in financial problems, Jan and Paul saw a good thing, a great cow to milk, and they’ve bought it up. Well, there’s a merging together of birds that we thought were of different feathers, but are apparently of the same feather coming together. And it’s a part of the end times.
I think there’s a lot of confusion out there. Where does someone stand? I think everybody knows where Bibleline stands because people definitely point us out as being different because we just try to tell it like it is in love as best we can, but you know, there are differences and you need to be able to recognize them. And as you learn the word of God, you begin to see them for yourself. And basically- The deeper I dig and read, it’s incredible.
I thought I got back to about the 70s of Schuller and Willow Creek and Hyrule and Rick Warren and all that. Now I got another book, Faith Undone by Roger Oakland and it’s going back to the 50s and maybe late 40s, I’m not sure, but 50s. all these like business people who were dealing in mysticism etc and networking and forming these you know like the what is the term for it now the marketing for the church. Yeah and bringing the emergent church and all this in and when you start connecting It’s scary.
It is. And you know, most people don’t even realize what’s happening and it’s really unfortunate that we have, but Satan is the author of confusion. And the thing is that we’re not getting better Bible teaching, we’re getting less Bible teaching. And so the sermon is going out the window because nobody knows the book by which we discern things and that’s the scriptures. Well, the church that I finally found up here in Spring Hill, you know, teaches our pastors wonderful and he teaches the true word and he teaches from King James and he’s aware of this stuff.
But I see things like death more, Bible studies creeping in and stuff and I’m thinking, wow, there’s such a confusion. These people are naive. So I’m buying these books and DVDs for the library and it’s like, you know, because I maybe soon I’ll be booted out. I don’t know. I mean the pastor won’t boot me out but the others might make you know if you step on their idols or and then I look around I think G there probably a great percentage or T or studying on a NIV and then I looked at my grandson’s Bible teachers Bible when she walked away and it was NIV and I’m like I I don’t even think I want my grandson in the class, does I rather teach, you know, like homeschool, home church?
Yeah, home church. Wow, thank you Linda. Wow. Thank you Dr. Hank. I just thought I’d give him a little update on that stuff. It was just like a friend of mine bought a King James study Bible by Zonarvan and he photocopied the inside cover when he got home and studied it. It said this Bible is adapted from the NIV and I said, how can it be a King James if it’s adapted from the NIV? It’s a subtle world out there and you think you’re buying a King James and it’s no longer even a King James.
It’s adapted from the… What a world we’re living in. You got to watch out and read everything carefully. We have Judy in Brandon, Florida. Welcome to BibleHendranon.com. Oh hi, Dr. Lindstrom. Yes. Oh hi. Thank you for your program. You really helped me out in my life learning more about the Bible. I have two quick questions. Yesterday, did you say that the Jewish calendar was up to 2012? No, I said the Mayan calendar, the one in the mind in the Bible.
you know the mind Indians and the that’s what I thought that’s what I calling you about because I thought it was the Indian yes that’s what I I’d heard on another show with the Indian but I was passing through so I just wanted to catch that and then I want to ask you this I don’t watch Joel Osteen that I’ve got my friend’s house when she had him on and he said that money was the number one that was spoken in the Bible more than anything is that correct?
Oh money was used in the Bible more than any other word? I’m not too sure, but I’ve heard that said by others too. Unfortunately, that’s what the End-Time Church is all about. It’s about materialism, and you see that so often today. And of course, the number one topic I think, in most Bible scholars, I think I’ve always agreed, is salvation. That’s right. And the redemption of man, and that’s the main topic. That’s what my feeling, but I was just wondering why he would say that.
I mean, I know he encourages people to pray for whatever you want, but I wouldn’t think that money would be the number one. No. Sorry. I haven’t done the search for myself to prove or disprove that, but thank you for bringing it up. We’ll have to take a little look at that again. Okay. Thank you ever so much. You’re welcome. We have to run. The time is going to be flown by, but we’ll be back again tomorrow, Lord willing, and we hope that you’ll join us again if you can help my blind pray for us.
If you want to give a gift, you can do it by credit card over the phone call operators. They’re standing by at 1-800-576-3771. Keep looking up. Also don’t forget we are listeners supported we need your help We’re going to go on in Miami on November 26th and we need your help to be able to make that leap and we hope that God will bless that richly. And if you have relatives or friends in South Florida, they can listen on 1080 at 10 o’clock in the morning live with us and we hope that you’ll pass that word along to your friends there. We’ve got to run.
We’ll be back tomorrow. Keep looking up, Jesus is coming. Have a great day, and God bless you. Thank you for your prayers and your gifts to Bibleline that keep us on the air. See you tomorrow.
