If you go to the bookstore, they’re not going to be there because they don’t sell the old Schofield. That’s the one that you want to get. The new Schofield has been tampered with. the notes have been watered down, new notes have been added that are not by Dr.

Schofield and it’s inferior. So you want to get the good one and we do stock that but your Christian bookstores will not. And I believe I’ve done somebody a service if I’ve gotten you into the Schofield. Why is it different? What is good about it? Well the notes are related to doctrine. Most Bibles, most reference Bibles and I have about everyone you could possibly get in my library and they give biographical, geographical, historical knowledge. Great for Bible trivia. But if you want to get serious about angels, demons, salvation, predestination, election, all the different doctrines of the Bible, the Scofield Bible has those notes that are just absolutely outstanding and you’ll be able to navigate through that and really learn the word of Moody Bible Institute of Chicago has the C.I.S.C.O.

field correspondence course and that’s incredible. It’ll take you several years to do it. But if you do it, you will have studied every note in the Scoville Bible and I guarantee you’ll come out with a great education. That’s the C.I.S.C.O. field correspondence course offered through Moody Bible Institute. It is Really, really. We’re going to get into our Bible here and then we’re going to be taking questions, and you’re welcome to call in. Our number is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. It’s so important when you’ve said it to Bible to be one who is studying so that he can or she can or she can rightly divide the Word of God.

That means to set the truths of God’s Word in right order, and because many do not, they leave you confused. And we’re talking about pastors and lay people alike that mix everything up. nces when you talk about, for example, salvation, that’s totally separate from living the Christian life or discipleship. And if you don’t distinguish, you’ll become totally confused. Let me give you an example. In Mark’s Gospel in chapter 14, it says in verse 26, and if any man come to me, verse 26, comma, that’s where you need to slice the verse, because the first part of the verse up to that comma is talking about salvation.

All you have to do is come to Christ. And that’s what you do to be saved. You come to him, trust him as your Savior, and God saves you. But let me read the rest of verse 26 and Luke 14, where it says, And hate not his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters. Yay, his own life also. It says he cannot be, he cannot be, he cannot be, and read very carefully. He cannot be my disciple.

In other words, there’s a price to be paid by you and me to be a disciple. But the price for salvation has been paid for by Christ as He paid the total price for our salvation. Let’s read the next verse. And whosoever doth not bear His cross, the cross of Christ, and come after Me cannot be, cannot be, cannot be My disciple. To be a disciple, you have to take up the cross of Christ, you have to come after Christ and follow Him.

But to be saved, as we found in the first phrase of verse 26, you simply come to Christ. That’s step number one. You get saved and then you make that second decision to become a disciple of Christ. Let me go down to verse 33. Here it says, so likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsakeeth that all that he hath, he cannot be, he cannot be, he cannot be my disciple. Doesn’t say he can’t be saved. But how many times have you heard, and I’ve heard it so many times, in evangelist, a preacher, invitation time will say, I want you to follow Christ tonight.

I want you to come forward and take up his cause and follow him. For sake all, they’re inviting you to be saved. That’s totally wrong. They’re really giving you the conditions of discipleship as a means of becoming saved and that is really confusion and Satan, of course, is the author of confusion. You need to study, to be able to separate. And so as a good student, it says in 2nd Timothy 2.15, study to show yourselves approved, by the way that’s not being approved for salvation, it’s being approved for rewards at the judgment seat of Christ.

Study to show thyself approved unto God as a workman that needeth not to be ashamed when you stand before the Lord of the judgment of Christ. And then it says, rightly dividing the word of truth. Setting the truths in God’s Word allows you to be a workman that does not have to be ashamed. So we study not to be a bookworm, we study to be a workman for Christ and we study so that we can separate out between the first coming and the second coming.

A lot of people don’t separate between the rapture and the second coming. They’re not the same event. When Christ comes at the rapture, He comes part way to the earth. When Christ comes at the Second Coming, He comes all the way to the earth. He will touch down on the Mount of Olives and is going to split in half at the Second Coming. At the Rapture, He doesn’t touch the surface of the earth at all. He meets up in the Epra-Avosphere with us as we are caught up to meet Him in the air and meet the Lord in the clouds.

That’s exciting and I am looking forward to it and I believe it is coming soon. But you don’t want to mix up the two events. They’re separated by seven years and are totally different. It says in 1 Thessalonians when Christ comes to the Rapture, He comes by Himself. In verses I talk about the Second Coming, it talks about how He comes with all of His Holy Angels. And the sky will be lighted by their presence. When Christ comes to the Rapture, nobody sees Him but those that are caught up to meeting.

When He comes to the Second Coming, the Bible says, Every I Shall See Him. He will be visible to everybody on the planet. That’s why the Bible warns when somebody says that Christ is already here. Don’t believe him or Christ is over there. Don’t believe him because Jesus said there’ll be many that will deceive you. And when Christ does come, he’s going to come in a way that the whole of the heavens will be lighted up. He says as the lightning streaks across the sky and lights the heavens from one end to the other.

So will the coming of the heavens. of the Son of Man be. In Matthew 24 we have another example here of rightly dividing and we find here that many people take this to be the Rapture. They read in verse 40 of Matthew 24, 2 will be in the field, the one will be taken, the other left. Verse 41, 2 women shall be grinding at the mill, the one will be taken and the other left. While this is not the Rapture.

Many people mistakenly think it is, and because they read in the context in verse 29 that this follows immediately after the Tribulation, this is how we get people with the post-Tribulation view of the return of Christ. They just aren’t good students of the Bible. They read this and they think it’s the Rapture, and then in the context they read it happens after the Tribulation. So they say that we are going to be here through the tribulation, not true. You’ll notice here it’s talking about the second coming and the two in the field, the one that’s taken is taken and killed.

The one that’s left is left to live into the thousand-year kingdom of Christ. Look if you will at verse 38, it’s easy to see this. It says, well, let’s go back to verse 37. As the days of Noah were, Social also the coming of the Son of Man be. So the second coming will be like unto the days of Noah. As it was in the days that were before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage until the day that Noah entered into the ark.

And knew not until the flood came and here are the words you want to look for. Took them, took them all away. What group was taken away by the flood? It was the unbelievers. If you couldn’t swim and if you couldn’t tread water for over a year, you were in trouble. Everybody drowned that was not inside the ark. And it says here, so shall also be coming in the Son of Man Be. There will be two in the field, the one will be taken, and I’ve taken the word taken in verse 40, circled it, and drawn the line back to the word took in verse 39 because those that are taken are taken in the way the flood took those that were lost and they were destroyed and they’re drowned and they’re killed.

So when Christ comes back, all unbelievers will be killed, and only those that are left will enter into the millennium. Now that’s the opposite of the rapture. At the rapture, the ones that are taken are the believers who are caught up to meet the Lord in the air, and the ones that are left are the unbelievers who will be left from the tribulation period. But at the second coming seven years later, the opposite takes place. The ones that are taken are taken in judgment and killed, and the ones that are left are left to live in the Millennial Kingdom.

41 two image will be grinding at the mill the one shall be taken I’ve circled that I’ve drawn a line back to the word took in verse 39 because the ones that are taken are Taken in the way the flood took the unbelievers in the days of Noah And it says the one who’s left is obviously left here to live into the thousand-year kingdom of Christ I hope that’s helped a little bit in understanding how to approach the Bible You need to be careful to read what you’re up studying there carefully, and sometimes you take a verse and have to slice it in the middle.

Jesus gives us a wonderful example of that when he quotes in Luke chapter 4, Isaiah 61, 1 and 2. He quotes that passage and says that it refers to himself, but he goes to the middle of verse 2 in Isaiah 61 and slices it in the middle, puts a period where there’s a comma, and said this day is this fulfilled in your ears? The part he didn’t read has to do with the second coming. Notice what a lesson in rightly dividing the word of truth.

Here Jesus would have made a mistake if he had read the rest of verse 2 which deals with the second coming. The first part of verse 2 in Isaiah 61 deals with the first coming. He stops at the end of the portion it deals with the first coming, he puts a period where there is a comma and the rest is yet to be filled at the second coming. And so Jesus gives us some wonderful illustrations on how to interpret the Bible.

And I think we had to listen because Jesus is God, therefore God Jesus is the author of scripture, he certainly knows what he is doing and he gives us many illustrations on how. We’re going to go to the phone lines here in just a moment. I hope you are calling in. We’ve got people already waiting. 1-800-576-3771. Again, call in, talk to our operators here about Israel. We’ll be glad to make it easy for you. I’d love to have you go to Repute Number 15.

It’s exciting to actually walk where Jesus walked. I mean, really think about it. to be able to stand on those very stones that he stood on, walk down the paths that he walked on, and to know that you’re right there where it happened. By the way, we’ll be baptizing in the Jordan River. We’ll be visiting the Tomb of Christ. We’ll see the hill of Calvary. We’ll see the Dead Sea, and we’ll all get a chance, if you’d like, to float.

You can’t really sink in the Dead Sea. It’s the saltiest body of water on the face of the earth. and very healing to have any cuts or skins or skin problems. Usually people find it’s very healing to step into that water. Well, we’re going to go to our first caller, 1-800-576-3771. We have Joanne in Tampa, Florida, and Joanne, welcome to Bibleline you’re on there. Hi, my name is Joanne. I have a question about Jehovah’s Witness. Okay. Okay, now two things.

One is the practice of birthdays. Well, they say you can’t celebrate birthdays and they’re totally wrong. If you look at the book of Job 1, Job’s children were celebrating their birthday and that’s when God and Satan had their conversation. And then later when Satan was given the authority to be able to hurt Job, Satan sent a huge Each wind that blew that house down and they were all killed. All of Job’s children were killed, but they were celebrating and having a birthday party right then.

And they were told, for example, in the Psalms to number our days and apply our hearts to wisdom, realizing that we’re only going to live X number of days here on the earth. Psalm 90 tells us the same thing that we can expect maybe about 70 years in this world. And so as you get closer to 70, you have to ask yourself, well, how many years do I have left? So we want to use those years wisely and maximize our time spent for the Lord because we’re leaving this planet and we’ll be with the Lord for our believer.

So definitely the Bible teaches counting our days, numbering our days, and also we certainly see the celebration of birthdays in the Bible. Okay, and also I’m going to hang up after I asked this question because it’s a little bit of a static eating and I want to take notes. I was at my sister’s house and they have a book study. It seems like every single time I’m there I go on a weekend and leave on a Tuesday and they usually have it on a Monday night.

And they did a book study. I sat in the book study because I didn’t want to insult them but you know and I listened to what they have to say because I really want to know what it is my sister is believing in and how she’s And they did a book study on how Jesus is Michael the Archangel. And I’m going to hang up so that I can hear you clearly on the radio and take notes, okay? All right.

Thank you so much. The Jones Witnesses claim that Jesus is Michael the Archangel. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Bible is very clear in Hebrews chapter 1 that God never called an angel his son. Jesus is called the Son of God. You can’t have it both ways. He can’t be the Son of God and can’t be an angel. So you have to choose. Obviously they’ve chosen in the wrong direction. Jesus, of course, is God Himself, which they refuse to believe.

I always like to point out to them 1 John 2, 23, who, however, denies the Son the same hath not the Father. But he’s been acknowledged if the Son the same hath the Father also. 1 John 2 23, they deny the Son. What does that mean? They don’t have the Father. That means they don’t have Jehovah. So I told Jehovah’s Witnesses they’re Jehovahless. Can you imagine? A Jehovah’s Witnesses coming to your door and they’re Jehovahless. They don’t have Jehovah because they deny the Son.

Read it for yourself. It’s very powerful. 1 John 2 23, whosoever deny if the Son the same have not the Father. And I’d see them just with their mouths drop open. They don’t really know how to respond to you when you tell them they’re Jehovahless. And in fact, sometimes I say, would you like to meet a true Jehovah’s Witness? And they smile and say, yes. And I say, well, shake my hand because I’m a true Witness of Jehovah because I declare that Jehovah came and took on human flesh in the person of Jesus Christ.

And if you read 1 John chapter 4 verse 1, it says, those that are false teachers deny that Christ came in the flesh, God Himself. And so they’re false witnesses and they are Jehovahless and they’re lost. We need to pray for them. I’ve led many Jehovah’s Witnesses to Christ, but they are totally deceived. I hope that helps and thank you, Joanne, for calling in to Bibleline today. I want to go to Orlando in Orange City, Florida. Orlando, welcome to Bibleline.

You are on the air. Hi, I just wanted to make the comment. Um, you understand his, uh, I’m hearing I’m listening everywhere you say. Okay. I believe that people, if a person is taught salvation with works and that person believes that he receives Christ, but he needs to do this and that, like the legalists do. That person probably doesn’t have to. have salvation because he’s depending on his works. And just like if a person was taught that from denominations like Catholic Church teachers, that also you have to do penance and all this.

Well, if you were taught that way, if you so-called received Christ, it’s not through faith alone. I just wanted to make that comment. So this is what I’ve been seeing that that’s the way to come to Christ, believing that I want to be sacrificial deaf only. Grace Wompey, but the church that teaches that you have to do this and that, well, it means you’re not saved because of the fact that you’re depending on work. And just like what I just wanted to make, that comment, and if you want a little bit, I’ll hang up on this.

Okay. Thank you, Orlando. So what is interesting is that the Jesus of Catholicism can’t be the Jesus of the Bible because the Jesus of the Bible says that you and I can do nothing but simply receive him alone as the Savior. But the Jesus of Roman Catholicism says you have to keep the sacraments, you have to work and it’s not, if you compare in the Scriptures that’s not true. And so therefore, there Jesus is not the same Jesus that we’re talking about.

In Hebrews chapter 1 where it talks about Christ, it says in verse 3, who being the brightness of God’s glory, the express image of God’s person and upholding all things by the word of his power when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on the high. Here it tells us, Jesus all by himself, without the help of the Roman Catholic Church, without to help of any other church or my helper, your help or anybody else’s help.

Jesus himself, by himself, totally and completely, can’t send it. When we trust him, we become saved and we’re saved eternally. Okay, we are going to go now to David in Chattanooga, Tennessee and David, welcome to Bibleline. You are on the air. Thank you, sir. There was a man the other day that I gave me a book with, he had written He was saying in the name of Jesus and he was giving references from Acts 2, 10, and 19 to back up his case.

Only problem in Acts 10, 48, when Peter was preaching to the house of Cornelius, he commanded them to be baptized in the Napical Health and Little Letters ORD. And what my question is, doesn’t that word lord there? isn’t that an inclusive term that means all three members of the Divine Trinity? Absolutely, and by the way I want to say bye to the listeners down in Miami as we are now going to exit them and we’ll be back of course tomorrow.

Join us and thank you for tuning in today. Back to your question as far as that word Lord is Churyos in the Greek K-U-R-I-O-S and many times it is used when an Old Testament verse is quoted where God’s name Yahweh or Jehovah is used. So it’s made equivalent of that. And so obviously They have problems when you try to stick them with all these different verses. You must be talking about the Church of Christ. And of course, they believe if that is the right church that we’re talking about, that you have to be water baptized to be saved, which of course is totally false doctrine.

Right. This man, I’ll just tell you, he’s a part of the church called the Apostolic Church. Okay. and that’s what he was saying. He was also adding that to grace, saying that part of Selma, matter of fact, he even says in the book that on the place, on the book in the Bible tells us how to become a Christian as a book of Acts, which is way off the bathe. Well, I know it. And if you read Matthew 28, 19, Christ said the baptized them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Right. Thank you so much. I’m out of time for this half hour. We’re going to go to break. But Again, thank you for tuning in to Bible and if you’d like to help us, we are listeners supported and you can send a gift by mail or you can give one by credit card over the phone. That would really help us as we close out this month of November. Would you consider us as you give to give to Bibleline Ministries and call our operators and they can help you out with that right over the phone.

We’re going to take a break. We’ll come back into a second half hour Bible and I hope you’ll be with us. So don’t go away, keep your radio tuned right where it is. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1 800 5763771. This is Bibleline. It’s great to be with you. We look forward to being with you each and every day Monday through Friday. This is Friday. It’s hard to believe the week has gone flying.

But we’ll be back again live on Monday. But let me just tell you a secret. If you Go to the website, BibleLineMinistries.org. You can continue to listen over the weekend. You know we have years where the radio program is sitting there. You can go back and listen to them as often as you like. Click on the spinning globe on our website. That’s BibleLineMinistries.org or .com. And by the way, we have a shortcut. We don’t announce it very often, but if you just want to type in BLM, which stands for Bibleline Ministries, BLM and the number one.org.

just four keystrokes here, BLM1.org, you’ll have our website. We did that just to make it short for some folks and you might want to try that. So we have that domain name as well. That’s BLM1.org. We’re going to Israel. I hope you’ll check in on that. You can go to my website Bibleline Ministries and click on the Bibleline News2006 on the homepage on your right side, Bibleline news, and it’ll come up with a page that will tell you quite a number of news items, but it will tell you about the trip first up.

And there’s a link there that’ll give you the full brochure of the trip and you can download that, print it out, and get going. We recommend you start moving quickly here because you’ll save $100 if you sign up before December 11. can still sign up if we have an opening right up until the day we go, but you may not have time to get your passport. You may not have time to get other things in order. So I recommend you also sign up early so that you can get that $100 per person discount as well.

In any case, it’s trip number 15 for me. We would love to have you. It’ll be great. Also, we have skill field Bibles, but I can’t guarantee we’ll have them as we get closer to Christmas. are ordering them. One lady ordered I think 14 for all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and everybody else in her family. And when we get orders like that they deplete our stock and we hope that we can restock in time. So I would recommend if you’re wanting to get a Bible or Concordance or some other Bible study tool or our CDs or DVDs that we’ll be able to supply it for you in time for Christmas.

I think we can right now, but if you wait too long, you may not be able to. We also want you to feel free to call us throughout the day. If you have a question and want to leave it off air, or you need to find out about the trip to Israel or about our bookstore or anything else, you can call and we’ll be happy to talk to you. We’re going to rejoin stations to bid on break and do the second half hour Bibleline.

So we want you to keep your radio right where it is. Here we go. We’re going to do part Two. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-37, 371. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. All right, we’re back for now break. This is Bibleline. And I was in Israel in March of this year, 2007. And I was able to get on the computer and pull up the live worship service from Israel. That’s right. And you know, it’s amazing that we’re able to do that with the technology today, but we have a year’s worth of the sermon sitting there. And we have the worship service streamed live every Sunday morning. You could go there at 11 o’clock Sunday morning, click on the camera on the home page and you’ll be able to get this weekend’s worship service.

A lot of those who don’t have a good church or they’re not able to travel to get to a church that’s a good church are watching the Bibleline worship service that I conduct every Sunday morning and we hope that you’ll join the many others and we have them from Europe, from Canada, from the United States, from all over the place that are watching as we webcast that service live on Sunday morning but there’s a year’s worth of them sitting there waiting for you to take a look at.

We’re going to be going to Israel in February. I’d love to have you on board with me leaving February 25th on Monday coming back March 7th a Friday 12 full days in Israel. We’re going to have five-star-de-lex hotels. That means a good night’s rest every night. A good shower, just a good night’s sleep. Good food will have buffet breakfasts and buffet dinners. You know it’s It’s interesting that not only do you get all the normal things that you get here, eggs and so on, toast and cereal and milk and all that, but you also, Israeli buffet breakfasts include things like fish.

I was surprised on my first trip, but there’s lots of different items that you wouldn’t normally perhaps haveabiding your breakfast unless maybe you’re Jewish. up. I got excited and learned to enjoy the new things that I got to try. You’ll get the standard plaintings if you’re a little bit scared about trying something new, but you’ll get also, and it’s wonderful food. I mean, just delicious food. And you’ll be able to really tank up every day. In fact, you can gain weight on this trip if you’re not careful, so look out.

But anyway, we’re wanting you to go along with us call and get information. We’ll guide you through the whole process. And also, we want you to get in on that discount before the 11th of December. If you sign up on the 10th, you still get the discount. But if you wait until the 11th, it’s gonna cost you $100 more per person. And I want you to get that savings. Trip number 15 for me, we’re gonna study the Bible all day long.

We’ll have a wonderful time. And I want you to be a part of it. Don’t forget also that Bibleline is listeners supported. And that means if our listeners fail to give, that we’d go off the air and uh… the world is never let that happen but you know he raises up people just like you who enjoyed this program who send uh… money to buy the line that keeps us on the earth thank god for every one of you and we get such nice notes oftentimes along with people’s gifts letting us know how much they appreciate the program and uh…

we just uh… uh… had a fellow come by today that He told us that he happened to be incarcerated for a short period of time and he said, I’ve got a lot of brand new listeners for you in jail. We reach into a lot of jails. We get a lot of mail from different jails across the country where people are listening to Bible and isn’t that exciting? People in offices and cars in at their work while they’re driving between appointments, listening to Bible and many people are downloading them for their are carrying us when they go out jogging or biking or camping or whatever it might be.

One gentleman came by here and he says he travels every day to work an hour each way. And he has downloaded his iPod with lots of our programs. He says he’s able to learn so much as he takes advantage of that drive time and listens on the way in and the way home. And by the way, we have CDs the same way that you can throw into your CD player in your car or truck and Listen to the book of Revelation or listen to the book of Daniel Listen to other teaching series that I’ve done a lot of people take advantage of that time and are just taking in the word of God throughout the day as they’re in their car truck or they’re Traveling to and fro they don’t let it be just wasted time Think about that and some of these make great gifts for

Christmas and that will help buy the line as well. If you would like to give a gift to my blind today you could call the 800 number and give it my credit card over the phone. You can also call and ask for an envelope to be sent to you with our address on it and mail your gift in. But we really do depend upon you. Of course, we are really depending upon the ward to raise people up like you who will partner with us and say, I want to help Bible Hine continue and I want to reach out to this world with that message of Bible and we can be your He says, well can’t be your voice, and you can be the means by which we are able to get the voice out there on the year because it costs money.

We don’t pay any salaries. Probably one of the most efficient ministries out there, because we have it’s all volunteered by self-included here on Bibleline. In any case we’re going to go to the phone lines we have a number of colors, and you’re welcome to call in at 1-800-576-3771. I’ll go to the condo first, and he’s waiting in St. Petersburg, I’m on the walk. Welcome to Bible Island. Good morning, Dr. Livstrom. Good morning. I was listening to the lady about the Jehovah Witnesses and I have a scripture in Revelation chapter 22 verse 6 and then the same chapter verse 16 maybe that was…

Maybe that will help you say that God sent his angel and then verse 16 said that Jesus was the one who sent his angel. So that might be helpful for her. That’s a question to ask them. Who is the one who sent the angel? Very good. Thank you, Armando, for sharing that with us today. The Jehovah’s Witnesses really are obviously seriously wrong on so many points of doctrine. And they obviously are in need of our prayers because they are lost and they will not make heaven.

They will not go to heaven without trusting Jesus as God who took on flesh to deny the theity of Christ will prevent you from entering heaven. John 824 Jesus said, if you believe not that I am, and that I am is the name that God uses for himself. In the book of Exodus when God appeared to Moses, when Moses asked God what his name was, he says, my name is I am. And so Jesus is claiming to be the very same God that appeared to Moses at the burning bush and if you deny that he says you shall die in your sense we have Tony in Richmond Virginia and Tony welcome to Bibleline you are on the air.

Hey Dr. Lynch from How are You Good? Hey I have a question about you have a strong concordance and dictionary in one big book and I was looking through the advance to find some word meaning. Yes. It’s a terrible, terrible dictionary. Well, it’s a little more difficult to use, because what it does is it heads you back to all the root words. Unless you are patient and want to discover where a word actually evolved from, the vine is not going to be the one to go to the strong.

This is going to be the most direct. I realized that I have a bunch of, I’ve got the Bible like I, I take a call in last week. I was telling you I have the Tom to the chain reference Bible. Yes. And then I’ve got the vine dictionary. No wonder I have somebody there in question. Here you go. Yeah. And the people that are around me, I know missionaries, and that’s their main of their tools for the study is that Compton’s chain and the event.

Do you have another dictionary that you could refer to me? And how do you find out or how do you learn those Greek words? Where do you get those from? No. It’s like in the New Testament, the Old Testament. I’m going to hang up and look into this. All right. Let me just recommend that you get a strong answer to the coordinates. That’s probably the simplest and easiest to use. And by a number code system you can look up the original Hebrew Greek words from whatever English word you’re looking at in your Bible.

You can do that on my website for practice. Go to my Bible search section and we have the strongest in accordance numbers and words right there. You can do it all for free if you want right on my website. But if you want the hard book, we have it for a gift of $30. Retail’s for 35 I believe and it’s really a wonderful asset to have in your library. And I just would recommend that you just be patient and take your time and search out these words and what they mean in the original and you’ll find that it’s very, very enlightening and helpful.

We’re now going to go to John in Jacksonville, Florida and John will come to Bible when you’re on the air. Hello, Pastor. I was wondering, and I think Tony and I are thinking along the same lines, what beginning book on Greek and Hebrew? As far as grammar and understanding that the languages do you recommend? And I think this is the same question that Tony had. What lexicons do you recommend? Maybe a little bit. You’d like to thank our little bit more.

Sophisticated. You sophisticated then the concordances. And what comat… that focus. Okay well let me just tell you that you can sometimes when you pursue this too heavily you can lose the force for the trees again and you can look so strong at one little word that you might miss the what the entire verse or context is saying. So you have to be somewhat tempered or balanced in what you’re doing. But I recommend that you maybe hook yourself up with a good correspondence course through Moody Bible Institute or the Allistatological Seminary and get some instruction in teaching if you wanna go that route.

But it’s telling you it’s a lengthy process because to be really proficient, you’re going to have to study the language for probably a minimum of four years. So you, you know, have to ask yourself how serious and how committed are you? I believe you can do well with the scholarship of others. And there are some interesting translations. I have a fellow that attends here who’s just written a new Greek translation of the New Testament and he gives you everything that you needed.

If you were studying Greek somewhere, he’s done all the homework for you because he just does everything you would need to do in the classroom if they gave you an assignment. It’s all there in this and I’m hoping he gets to publish it real soon here. That’s going to be really an aid and perhaps soon it’ll be in print and we can recommend that here on the air. I caution you not to be too disappointed because it’s a lengthy task.

A lot of people say as you want to go this route, but they get discouraged because it’s going to take you time. Like learning any language, it’ll take you time. Thank you again for calling in and that was John in Jacksonville, Florida. And John, thank you for listening and calling in from Jacksonville. If you want to call in, you can dial us at 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. And again, don’t forget that we are on the air here in the Tampa Bay area all weekend long as we play the best of on Saturday and Sunday.

Again, we’re going to Israel. I hope you’ll call and let us help you. guide you through the system and make sure you get a brochure in your hand and if you have a computer and you have internet access you can have it in the next couple of minutes. You can print it out. If you have a color printer it’ll print out beautifully in color and you’ll enjoy that. We have now a caller from Tampa and his name is Evan and Evan welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.

Yes, I am. I just want to know what part of the Bible say Jesus coming to reach you himself. Where he’s going to come to rescue us here himself? Let’s go. First Thessalonians 4 16 says the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout with the voice of the archangel and the trump of God and the dead and Christ shall rise first then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the air to meet the Lord in the clouds and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

So first Thessalonians 1 16 says the Lord by himself. You’re very welcome. Thank you for that call. Alright and you’re welcome to call in again as we said it 1-800-576-3771. We have some guests in our studio today and we welcome them. They sit over here and are waving at you right now. I don’t know if you can see them waving at you here on the radio. Okay, we have some off-air questions and we probably want to take a couple of those.

We have a One from Jonathan and Tampa. He says, how do you know that the King James is an accurate translation of the Bible? And what was the first English transaction of the Bible? Well, the Wycliffe translation was probably one of the earliest English ones. And the King James translating committee didn’t have a whole lot to do because Wycliffe had really done most of the work. Many translators today are in an organization that’s called the Wycliffe Bible translators. They named it after Wycliffe who did such a marvelous job.

But basically what was nice about the King James is it was a direct translation from the original language, the Hebrew and the Greek into English. And they primarily relied on the previous work of others, including Wycliffe. Wycliffe and they came out with an outstanding translation, but it is not flawless. There are problems with the King James as there is with any translation. That’s why the Schofield Bible is so helpful because many of those have been pointed out over the past 400 or 500 years.

And Dr. Schofield in the center margins and in the notes at the bottom of the page will tell you where a word has not been translated correctly. And one of those, of course, is repent. The Greek word is metadnoia. M-E-T-A means change. Noia means mine. N-O-I-A. The two words together metadnoia mean a change of mind. And they translated it into the English word repent. It doesn’t mean the same thing. That means to turn from sin or sorrow for sin and that’s caused a great deal of confusion because many people believe repent is turned from sin which is works.

When the Bible says that God saves us like we are, absolutely amazing. I like what the hymn writer did, he got it right when he said, just as I am, I come without one plea but that thy blood was shed for me. We’re going to go to Kurt now and he is in Tampa, Florida and Kurt, welcome to Bible and you’re on the air. i can’t you’re on the earth yeah i have a friend of mine i have a couple of quick comments a lot of studying school this so many different uh…

types of that that is uh… church of latte a saints there’s so many and i’m thinking if everyone is praying to the same person accepting jesus christ is their personal savior it seems like insanity to have them all with one another to determine that someone’s right and someone’s wrong also i have a friend of mine is a job over and he claims that there is no trinity he said this is the religion he said if you don’t know who to believe he says would you believe what’s in the context of the bible and i said well absolutely sis will everything i’m telling you i’m taking from the context of this bible is what he stated well you know he’s that he’s not he’s deceived himself because that’s not true uh…

if you can friend jose witness with the bible uh… they have to run because they they are not in line with the bible and uh… and the problem is is it not only churches teach the same thing about christ or teach in the jesus of the bible that what is amazing is that many are teaching their denominational beliefs and uh… the uh… pre establish beliefs that oftentimes contradict the Bible and they don’t really want to look at the Bible to see what it has to say.

The only way you can really come clean is to really go fresh at the Bible and take it for what it says and the Bible comes out clean. But we have a problem because many, many people again think in their mind that they’ve got to do something to be saved of themselves. They therefore change the plan of salvation and make it one of works. I was raised in a Protestant church for eighteen years and I never found out how to go to heaven.

I was eighteen when I was invited to a Bible study by my sister and there I heard the gospel for the first time and I thought to myself, wow, how come I never heard this? How could I go through 18 years of church? I was confirmed. I was baptized, homogenized, pasteurized, capsized, Simonized. I went through everything, but I wasn’t saved. And I meet people all the time, just like that. I had a gentleman tell me in Church, he’s 80-something now, and just 10 years ago or so he got saved by listening to us here on Bibleline.

And he’s just so grateful that he learned this before he slips into eternity. Another man in my church, he’s in the 80s, and he just a couple of years ago discovered Good. The true plan of salvation, faith alone in Christ alone, and he was an officer and a leader in many different church denominations over the years, never heard how to go to heaven. So the Bible is the answer, and you have to really, really be careful that you’re getting what the Bible says and not what they spin it out to be.

The Jehovah’s Witnesses admit in the Watchtower Society that if a Jehovah’s Witness didn’t continue to read the Watchtower Society, they would become a postate. What they’re really saying is that they would no longer be Joel’s witness and they would really become a genuine Christian like I am Because if they just read the Bible, but they don’t they read the lenses of the watchtowers and signy the Christian scientists read the Bible through the lenses of Mary Baker Eddie the seven to add that is read the Bible through the lenses of Ellen G white their founder and the Catholics don’t read the Bible because they’re told that only the Catholic Church can interpret it and there’s a group in Rome that are exclusive interpreters, so you have to take whatever they say as what the Bible says even though the Bible doesn’t say that and So you have all these different groups and many denominations have their

Denominational views and they interpret the Bible through those lenses you have to throw all those glasses out and and go directly to the Bible to see what it has to say and forget all this other skewed views that are presented by the Church. I tell people, check out what I’m doing. That’s why I give you verse references throughout the program. That you know that I didn’t make this thing up, that I’m not the authority, but the Bible is the authority.

I hope that helps a little bit, Kurt. I think, and thank you for calling in today. We now have Randy in Dunedin, Florida and Randy, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. And let’s see what happened to Randy. Randy, are you there? Hey, I’m here. Okay. Hi Hank. I’m going through a Bible study, a community Bible study, as you might know, that’s a nationwide study on Tuesday nights. We’re going through the book of James. And of course when we went through James 2, 14 and following.

I handed out several copies of your article and we made the distinction that unto believers. We’re coming up on chapter 5 next week and I’d like you to help me with James chapter 5 verse 19 and 20. How are rightly divide those verses? Well it says here in verse 19, brethren, it’s again talking to believers here, if any of you, hearer from the truth. So believers can go astray and hearer from the truth. And then it says one converted.

That means to change him or bring him back to the truth. Let him know that he which converted the sinner from the era of his way shall save a soul from death. I believe that’s physical death and shall hide a multitude of sins or prevent that believer who’s going to stray from continuing on a wrong path that will be, he’ll be judged for and suffered a loss of reward for it, the judge is it of Christ. But it’s not talking here about winning a lost person here.

It’s not about getting a safe person back on track and how that we will save them perhaps from the Lord taking them home to heaven early as sometimes the Lord takes believers home to in heaven because they have gone astray and also prevent them from living out of life in error and in sin that would cause them to have a given account for a multitude of sins that they wouldn’t prevent if they got back on track. I see I anticipated some problem with that phrase save a soul from death and when I read Dr.

McGee’s commentary, he believes those verses were for the unsaved, was his opinion. So I just thought I’d check with you also. I don’t think so. And I think it’s like in 1 John 5, 16 where somebody can commit a sin unto death. A believer can only do that. And that’s a sin where the Lord would take their life early. All right. Thank you very much. All right. Thank you for that call. We are out of time. It’s hard to believe it goes so quickly.

Again, we hope that you’ll pray for Bibleline. If you can give a gift to help buy the line, it would be greatly appreciated at this time call and give it by credit card over the phone or mail in a gift. I hate to talk about money at all, but you don’t. You’re being cheated out of an opportunity to gain rewards in heaven if you don’t give. And you don’t have to give the Bibleline, but I believe that you’re going to get rewarded greatly for what this program is doing in the lives of people that are not only coming to know Christ, but are moving forward in a clearer doctrine and are able to be effective for Christ.

We hope that you’ll go to Israel with us. Call our eight-headed number and we’ll try to answer all these questions over the phone because the program is at the end. But we want you to pray for us.
