We also want you to know that we have some specials going. We’ve got the evangelism special for Christmas. copies, 20 CDs of the How Permanent is Your Salvation, very, very powerful in leading people to Christ. Generally, we hear the story again and again that if somebody will listen to it all the way through, they oftentimes get saved. It’s that good. And we thank God for how God has used that particular message. We’re going to give you 20 of those CDs to use to evangelize through the Christmas holidays, along with 50 of our best track, Am I going to heaven in English and then also the handbook on personal evangelism, the book that tells you how to lead souls to Christ.
That’s a $120 value we’re letting you have that for a Christmas special of $100. That’ll help my line but also it’ll be a wonderful tool to evangelize and give out the gospel of Jesus Christ here over the holidays. Obviously that’s really What we ought to do, the gift of God is eternal life and that gift was received by us when we trusted Christ and now we need to distribute that gift by telling others about the gift of everlasting life.
In any case, it’s Wednesday. We’re glad to be with you today. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida, from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor. And we hope that you’ll call. And if you want to talk to our operators, they can talk to you about the things that we have in our resource center. That would be great for Christmas. We have the Schofield Bibles, the old one, which is the one you need to get.
We have many, many CD series. my teachings on Revelation, Daniel, parables, the Holy Spirit, the Rapture, in time events and on and on and on it goes. We’ve got about 40 of these different series. We just finished the Gospel of John, about 20 hours of teaching and it’s available in two parts, a nice book like a jacket that holds 10 hours of the teaching on CD and then another one part two that has the other ten hours and so you don’t have to get it all at once.
You can get the first half for fifty dollar gift to Bible and the second half for fifty dollar gift to Bible and if you want to get it all on DVD with the video and audio you can get that for a hundred and fifty dollar gift to Bible and. We hope you’ll call us today. The phone number is 1-800-576-3771. It’s 1-800-576-3771. Give us a call. We would love to hear from you. We’re in the Bible now for a few minutes.
If you have your Bible, get it out and take a look. We find that we talked yesterday about there was a multitude of the heavenly hosts that did not sing. But they said, glory to God in the highest on earth, peace good will toward men in Luke 211. There is no verse that says that angels say, what is interesting when we get into angels? The Bible never, never tells us that angels have wings. Angels don’t have halos. Angels are always when they appear.
It appears men. There are no women angels. Now that is amazing because every time I see an artist rendering of an angel when I see a Christmas card with angels And so on and so on they’re always feminine When you go to the mall and you were to try to buy an angel, it’s always a female There is no such thing as a female angel who just is numb and whenever angels appear They always are appearing as male in gender and they are never seen with wings.
You don’t have any angels with wings. Now the cherub have wings. The seraphim have wings, but the angels, the large body of angelic beings called angels are never seen with wings. We also know there are no baby angels. Artists love to draw these real chunky little cute little babies and they have these little baby wings sprouting out of their shoulders. It’s interesting that most people believe they have wings. I remember just as a little boy, my grandmother would come up and rub my shoulder and she said, you know, I think that there’s a couple of wings sprouting here.
I said really and I could look at the mirror and twist my head around and try to see where those angel wings were going to sprout out on me. And she would say that, and I bought into that as a little boy, that angels had wings and maybe I could grow a set of wings because grandma would lovingly embrace me and just kind of rub my shoulders and say, I think I feel the beginning of a wing growing out here on your back.
And I bought into that. Angels don’t have wings, there are no baby angels, and there are no female angels. And so basically when I go into somebody’s home and they say, take a look at this angel collection. Somebody might have a couple hundred so-called angels on their shelf. And I have to say, excuse me, but I don’t see any male figures here. There are no such thing as female angels. So whatever they’re collecting, they might be attractive, they might be fun to collect, that might be interesting to have in your home, but they’re not angels.
I had a couple of men, I think, last year, bored in the mall while their wives were shopping. So they went on a hunt to try to find a male angel in the mall last year. They came back and said, you know, in every store that we went, we went even right to the manager of the store and asked if they could get a male angel and they had none. 0. They could not find in their search in the mall anywhere that sold a male angel.
So it shows you that predominantly people believe that there are female angels and there are none. Angels don’t marry. The Bible says in Matthew 22.30, nor are they given in marriage. They don’t reproduce. The angel population, guess what, is the same today as it was on the day of creation when God created all the angels. There has not been one more angel added to the count. That’s right. Angels were all created at one time at the time of the creation and not one angel has been added to the count.
More has one angel dropped off the count. The number of angels from the very get-go has always been the same. So they don’t have babies and there are no such thing as baby angels. And you know there’s not a verse in the Bible anywhere that says that angels sing. And again, that’s not too significant, but yet look at what we believe. The hymns at this time of year have all kinds of Christmas songs that have choirs of angels, angels singing, and amazingly there’s not a verse that says angels sing anywhere.
So we need to learn from that that hymns are not inspired. The word of God is inspired. That is infallible in Aaron and given to us by God who is the author of scripture, but hymns are not. And hymns are often wrong. And I’d like to point that out simply because we need to make sure that we’re not getting our doctrine from outside the Bible and reading it back into the Bible. We need to read our Bibles as the first source and then determine whether a hymn is correct or a sermon is correct or a discussion is correct.
We correct it and we do it by the Scriptures. When the Bible talks about examine yourself whether you be in the faith. Second Corinthians 13-5, examine yourselves whether you be in the faith. The Faith is a phrase that occurs 43 times in the New Testament and is describing the body of truth is contained in the New Testament. And so to know whether you’re in the Faith or not, you have to read what the Bible teaches. And if you are in line with Scripture, then you’re in line with the Faith.
But oftentimes today, we have hymns that teach us things that are not true. And we have so much of that today. In any case, many people say, well, what about Luke 2? There you have this multitude, the heavenly host. And didn’t they sing? Was it their giant chorus of angels that sang to the shepherds? Well, let’s read it. It says in verse 13 of Luke chapter 2, and suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and the Bible says saying, as a Y-I-N-G.
singing but saying, can you imagine, a huge multitude of angels, all speaking in male voices together in unison, not singing but saying, glory to God in the highest, on earth, peace, good will toward men, and that’s exactly what happened. The only time you’ll see a verse with angels singing is like in some of the newer translations that are really, really accommodate the beliefs of what we want to hear sometimes, I guess. The NIV I think says that Angels Sing and these are terrible translations.
These are very, very bad. The NIV translation, the new international version drops 44 verses in their entirety. They’re not even there. We have a quiz. We’ll send it out to you for free. If you take that quiz using an NIV Bible, you’ll get a zero because none of the verses that the questions are asked about are in your NIV Bible. Isn’t that amazing? And guess what? The Jehovah’s Witness Bible drops the same 44 verses. Did they get together? Did they have a conference before they came out with the NIV?
It’s kind of interesting. And the names are almost identical. New world translation, the name of the Jehovah’s Witness Bible and new international birth version the name of the NIV. Almost word for word exactly the same and you know all the other deletions and attacks upon doctrine in the Bible are the same as in the Jehovah’s Witness Bible. The Jehovah’s Witness Bible tries to do away with hell. Guess what? The NIV tries to do away with hell. It’s amazing. It’s a subtlety that a lot of people don’t even realize and you will get that doctrine.
If you don’t have a good Bible, these modern Bibles are coming out with real bold, bold attacks upon fundamental doctrines in the Bible. And you need to be alert. We have a book called New Age Bible Versions that it really exposes 20, especially 20 of the most popular of the modern day translations. And some of them absolutely reverse the meanings of verses and it’s just really, really sad. Probably one of the worst in changing the meaning absolutely to the exact opposite is the message Bible.
I wouldn’t want that one all. And I think really it’s quite disrespectful when it talks about in the Lord’s Prayer, it talks about God giving us three squares every day. I say almost seem we’ve lost what is really in the first phrase in the King James, our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, hallowed be thy name. Obviously we need to revere God and respect God and respect his word and to drag it down to street language I think is probably a real, real insult to God who is the creator of the universe.
In case I’m Dr. Anglinseter, I’m going to be with you. We’re going to be taking our callers. We’ve already got a bunch of people waiting to get online. We have lots of all All fair questions we’ll try to get to those. And we’re going to go right now to Rebecca in Lansing, Michigan. And Rebecca, welcome to Bibleline You are on the air. Yeah. How are you this morning? Good. How are you doing? I’m doing well. Thank you. I just wanted to tell you first of all, thank you so much for your ministry.
Well you’re welcome. I’m so glad that we can bring it to you there in Lansing, Michigan. Oh, it’s such a blessing and I listen every day and I learn an awful lot from you. Thank you so much Do you have a question today? I do. Can you tell me if there’s anything in scripture that talks about whatever happened to the Ark of the Covenant? You know nothing in the Bible tells us what happened to the Ark of the Covenant and There are lots of different stories and we really don’t know which is correct or if any of them are correct But there’s one view that it was carried away before the destruction of Jerusalem in 8070 down to the Dead Sea where in those caves that we found the Dead Sea Scrolls and other things.
Another view says that it was taken way back there at the time of the Babylon captivity by those who fled and that dispersion where they went down to Ethiopia. There’s a longstanding tradition that the Ark is still there in Ethiopia. There’s another view that it’s buried underneath the Temple Mount and many ahold to that. We don’t know. We just don’t know. We’ll have to wait and see. I don’t know where it’s at either. But obviously lately it’s been popularized through movies like Ark of the Raiders of the Lost Ark, which caused a lot of excitement about the Ark and about some of the stories in the Old Testament and how it had powers.
Of course that was God’s presence, but apparently in that movie they showed people being killed as they tried to open that arc and be covered up. So it’s exciting, but we just don’t know. And I think that God will, if it’s necessary for this third temple that’s going to be rebuilt shortly, I believe that he’ll let us know. Okay, well thank you so much, Pastor Hank and God bless you and Merry Christmas. Same to you now. Take care. Let’s read back in Lansing, Michigan and we’re on up there every day, Monday through Friday.
We’re going to Rose in Palm Harbor. Rose, welcome to Blind Blind. You are on the air. Rose, you’re on the air. Yes. Hi. You have a question? Yes. John is, yes, hello. You’re on the other side. The angels there on top of the Ark of the Covenant. Those are the angels. Those are the cherubs. And the cherubs are the special living creatures that are about the throne of God. And you see them described in Ezekiel. You’ll find them described in Revelation chapter 4.
And those are in chapter one also, they’re living creatures that are especially that have wings, but angels don’t have wings. Oh, no, and how about the difference they have wings? The cherub do have wings, yes. How many do they have? Well, the seraphim has six wings, but I think the cherub only have two. Okay. Another question is about Jesus. It says that Jesus was made lower than the angels. What do you mean? The angels are the lowest in heaven or heaven?
What it means is that he became a man and the human being, the descendants of Adam, are lower in position of authority than angels are. But when we get saved, we are lifted up and become higher than the angels in the chain of authority. So right now we’re lower than the angels, but positionally when you get saved, you are are made higher than angels and angels become the then ministering spirits to us. They will wait on us and attend to us for all eternity.
Okay. Thank you very much. You’re very welcome Rose and thank you for listening in. Okay. Bye bye. Okay. That was Rose in Palm Harbor, Florida. We now have Jean in St. Petersburg, Florida. Jean, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. I gene yes you’re on the air yes don’t listen to your radio listen to the phone turn your radio down Jean you’re on the air hi how you doing this a little good how you doing wonderful don’t listen yeah don’t listen to the radio you get confused there’s a 20 second delay so you need to talk to me on the phone oh okay I’ll do they get rid of the radio turn that down I’m on the radio now you are live right now on Bible and on the radio okay how you doing mr.
Lester I’m doing fun this is Jean from Orlando Florida okay and my daughter has been telling me about your program so I’m visiting her and I have a question already some preaches say that and some people say if you are married You can have or fake calls to bed and then pop. But I say that you don’t suppose to do that. So if I’m right, let me know if I’m wrong. Let me know. Well, Hebrews 13.5 says that within marriage, that the marriage bed is in the file.
So sexual activity between two married persons married to each other can enjoy sex. and there is nothing that is defiling about it. But outside of marriage, it is not… It’s corrupted. It is defiled. And God will one day judge that. But even oral sex, they can have oral sex in marriage. In marriage, they can do anything according to Hebrews 13.5. Hebrews 13.5? Yes. Okay. Any other script on that? That’s the major one, but that said, it certainly says it’s under file.
So thank you very much, Gene. That was a good question. And we now have James in Hampton, Virginia. James welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hello James. And James, are you there? James is rather silent. James in Hampton, Virginia. We’ll try to get you back up on the air in a minute. I don’t know what happened to James. Maybe he couldn’t wait. So we’re excited about the Bible and excited about the times in which we’re living in. This is a great season to be alive in because this is a time when people are more open to hear anything you say about Jesus because it’s coming up on the birth of Christ.
We obviously should take advantage, I believe, and tell the story about who Jesus really is. This is God who came to the earth and took on human flesh that he went to the cross and died for you and me and all those that would put their trust in Christ’s death and shed blood as the means of their salvation would absolutely go to heaven. Sure good to have you folks down in Miami with us and we leave you guys a little bit early before we leave others but we’re going to say goodbye right now and I hope you’ll call us at our 800 number.
Let us know you’re listening and of course we’d love to have you order some of our resources from our resource center. But we’ll say goodbye to you now and we’re going to go back to the other stations that we’re still on the air with. If you want to call us, the number is 1-800-576-HEAD-771, 1-800-576-3771. I have an off the air question here about St. Faustina’s Divine Mercy. In her journals, the Lord calls for Divine Mercy Sunday. I love the message, the journal.
According to the message was written solely by the Holy Spirit. Well I believe that is totally nonsense. You know, St. Mary Faustina was born in 1905, died in 1938, was venerated in the Roman Catholic Church, beified and canonized on April 30th year 2000. She claims to have visited purgatory numerous times to have seen and spoken to Jesus and Mary, and Mary several times and obviously there is no such place as purgatory. Why would you want to listen to somebody who obviously did things that are just in the realm of the Twilight Zone?
This is absolutely the craziness that exists within this whole thing about St.hood, within the Roman Catholic Church. Every believer according to the Bible is a saint at the moment you believe. When you are in this body you can’t depart and come back from the dead, which is what Sister Faustina claimed. And obviously her messages are relaying false truths to us because there is no such thing as purgatory. She could not have met with Mary, Jesus and visited purgatory and so on.
That’s impossible. Thank you for that question that was asked by Magda in Tampa, Florida. We’re going to go to break and we’ll come back and do a second half hour of Bibleline. But we want you to stay tuned and come back with us as we’ll be back in just a minute. So hold your radio right where it is, don’t go away, and we’ll do a second half hour of Bibleline. The Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771.
That’s 1-800-576-3771. All right, I’m Dr. Englund Sherman. This is Bibleline. And it’s great to be with you. And we’re looking forward to being with you every day. Thanks for tuning in today. And by the way, you can hear us 24-7 on the internet. Go to the website BibleLineMinistries.org.com. and click on the spinning globe and you’ll get the radio programs, click on the TV set and you’ll get the television programs, click on the camera and you’ll get our worship services and a lot of folks catch those worship services not only live at 11 o’clock on Sunday morning if you click on that camera Sunday morning at 11am you’ll get the live service but then they sit there and archive for a full year.
And we have people in the military, we have people in other countries. We’ve had 151 countries log on to Bibleline, and we’re talking about all over the world, all over the Far East, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, South America, the Caribbean Islands, Canada, Mexico, and of course Central America. All of these countries have long gone to Bible and maybe you have missionaries. We have a missionary right now, Brian from Tampa, and he is in Japan right now and he is turning on other missionaries in Japan to the Bibleline Ministries website.
We hope you will pass that along too. Bible and Ministries.org.com. We are obviously in the month of December and if you haven’t given a gift to Jesus this month. Would you consider giving to Bible? That would really help us out. We could really use your help closing out this year, hopefully with all of our bills paid. And you can do that by giving it by credit card over the phone. If you’ll call our 800 number or you can ask for an envelope to be sent with our address and mail a gift to Bible.
But we really are totally dependent upon you, our listener, and you are true real partners with us. We believe you’ll get the most value of any ministry because we don’t pay any salaries, myself included, and so therefore you’re going to get more results for the dollar that you give when you give the Bible and would you consider giving a Christmas gift. Remember the wise men, they gave all their gifts to Christ and we hope that you’ll make sure that Jesus is on your Christmas list and certainly you can give the Bible and be a real blessing to us as hopefully we’re a blessing to you.
Don’t forget if you’re planning to go to Israel, I need to know right away your intentions. Would you give me a call and let me know, yes, I am going to go and let’s talk about it because we want to make sure that we get everybody on board that would like to go and we’d hate to have you sitting back here not able to go. We’re going to do a second half hour of Bible and right now so keep your radio tuned.
Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. All right, we’re back for now breaking. This is Bibleline. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church. Church and we’re glad to have you with us today. Hopefully you’re enjoying Bible line every day and if you can’t catch a program you can always go back to the internet and catch it later.
That’s right we’re on the internet there every day 24-7 so if you get up in the middle of the night and you can’t sleep you can go to Bibleline and catch the program again and again and again and again. You can also download it for free on your iPod. Just click on that podcasting and you can have it coming your way on a regular basis automatically. That’s all for free. We hope you’ll take advantage. Don’t forget we have some Christmas specials here.
We still have a few left. These Zonervin Pictorial Encyclopedia. We have that five volume set, weighs 18 pounds of wonderful material. That’s not a dictionary. This is the Zonnervin pictorial encyclopedia. It retails for 200. We have it for a special Christmas gift of $110 gift to Bible. Also, Shaeffer’s Systematic Theology, a wonderful eight volume set now printed in four volumes. You get all eight volumes in four and it also is a huge asset to your library. If you’re a serious student of the Bible and you want to give this to somebody who really to learn more, I would recommend it highly.
It retails for about 180. We have a special on this for a gift of my mind of 110. You can get that. Also, we have the special evangelism package, 20, of our How Permanent is your Salvation CDs, along with 50 of our best track. Am I going to Heaven? And the booklet, handbook of Personal Evangelism, and for a gift of 100, that’s a hundred-fun and all value. You’ll be helping Bible on it and you can also give those out in your Christmas cards, your gifts and events wise here and it’s a very, very great tool in leading people to Christ.
I hope you’ll take advantage of that and just call our operators and you can place that order. We’re going to go right now to James and Hampton, Virginia and James, welcome to Bibleline your own ear. Yes, sir. I have a question. I’m glad to get back in. I enjoy your wisdom of God concerning eternal salvation. And it’s coming from the book of Rev. and White Raymond. And I will not block his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my father and before his angels.
Now, is this then when it mentions the book of life? Absolutely, it sure is. And what it’s saying here, and most people get this wrong, James, most people think that when you get saved, your name is written in the book. That’s not the way it is at all. Everybody’s name is in the book. Christ died for every man, woman, and child that would ever live, and God intends for and desires for everyone to be saved. So everybody’s name is in the book.
If you die as an unbeliever at the moment of your death, your name is erased from the book. If you become a believer at the moment you believe, he makes the promise right there in Revelation 3.5 that he will not bought your name out. So once you become a believer, you have God’s written guarantee that he will never have bought your name out of the book of life. I think it is important to understand who an overcomer is. And this is where people go wrong when they don’t get the terms defined right.
And in 1 John 4, excuse me, 1 John chapter 5, it says in verse 4, for whatsoever is is born of God, overcome with the world. And this is the victory that overcome with the world, even our faith. Then verse 5 is even more clear, who is he that overcome with the world? Answer, he the belief in Jesus Christ is the Son of God. So every believer is an overcomer by virtue of the fact that Christ on our behalf overcame death, sin, the grave, and Satan.
And when you trust Christ, you become… In Revelation 3, 5, there are three things that he says. If you are an overcomer, you’ll be clothed with white raiment, which I think is the garment of salvation that the Bible says is required in our heaven, it’s Christ’s righteousness. Secondly, he promises that your name will never be bought out of the book. So you’ll never go to hell once you trust Christ because your name will never come out of the book.
And thirdly, your name is immediately upon believing or trusting Christ’s Savior. Confessed in heaven that you belong to the Lord that you’re coming to heaven that you’ll be arriving shortly And so every believer is already known in heaven as that you’re you’re gonna be arriving there shortly All right. Well, thank you very much and you’re most welcome and Usually we get that whole thing backward We’re told that our names are written in when we believe actually our names are already there but our promise that they’ll never come out if we once trust Christ.
We’re gonna go to Miami, Florida right now and we’re gonna talk to Cosmon and Miami, Florida and let’s see here welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Cosmon are you there? Yeah I’m right here. Okay you’re on the air. Okay I have a question. What are you teaching? Do you think it’s right or wrong? It’s absolutely terribly wrong. We’re never promised health and wealth and prosperity necessarily here in this life. You might be of good health most of your life and you might be prospered by God and be wealthy, but it’s not promised at all.
Our riches according to the Bible are not here. They’re in heaven. I love that old hymn. This world is not my home. I’m just a passing through. My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue. Nowhere is it ever tell us to look for treasures here. Read the Servant on the Mount. Jesus says, lay out not for yourselves treasures here upon the earth. Why? People steal them. Rust corrupts it. Maws eat it. But it says, lay out for yourselves treasures where?
In heaven. So if you’re being taught correctly, you ought to be living now for heaven’s sake and for the rewards and blessings you’ll have in heaven one day when you stand before the Lord. If you’re looking for your treasures here, then you really are going to lose out because that’s very temporary. And those treasures will be left behind because you can’t take them with you. I’ve never yet seen, and I’ve done a lot of funerals, never seen a U-hole behind the hearse carrying all the persons possessions with them so they could take them with them to the other side.
Doesn’t happen. Yeah, because I see a lot of churches that are especially non-denominational churches here in America. I’m Romanian. and I’m Pentecostal but I see a lot of non-denominational churches are growing and because they’re preaching of this posterity and Jesus died for us to totally against them. I mean there’s certain part of the Bible, yeah it teaches it with posterity but they’re only teaching one part of the Bible, not the whole Bible. Well most of it is wrongly dividing the Bible.
It’s taking promises to Israel which are earthly and God promised that one day and it will happen I think in the pretty near future. Israel is going to become the head nation on the earth. Christ will come back as her king and they will be rich and they will be loaning to all the other nations. Right now Israel is a borrowing nation but Israel will apparently loan money to all the other nations on the planet during the millennium. So they will be very rich and very prosperous and that is a promise to Israel but never intended for the church.
So if you don’t learn how to rightly divide, that’s why I recommend the Scofield Bible because it helps you know to whom you’re speaking and what it’s really talking about there so that you don’t misapply. The promises to Israel are not to the church. They are to Israel and they still will be literally fulfilled. It’s interesting to me that these same preachers don’t take the curses to Israel and apply them to us because there’s a lot of curses that would come down on the very people that are preaching this prosperity ministry if they took the curses as well as the blessings and preached those curses on their church.
I’m afraid that they would empty them out right out today. Okay. Thank you. I would like to order that book if you can pass me through some might and order to the organ. All right. We’ll pet you right through the operator right now and he’ll take care of that. You’re welcome and thank you for calling in from Miami, Florida. We now have Grace in St. Petersburg and by grace are you saved through faith. Grace welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air.
I can barely hear you say you’re not coming in clearly. Okay, well, I’ll do my best. What can I do for you today, Grace? Okay, then. Will they still be able to take me? Excuse me? He’ll be able to answer. I’ll be able to take on the air while I’m here. I’m hearing you real well and you’re on the air right now, but go ahead and ask your question and then listen on the radio if you want it. Okay.
What is your question? Hello. What is your question Grace? I hear you are loud and clear. The question is coming from Grace, the 11th chapter and the 31st. Okay. And we’ll take a look at that and see what it says. Grace was having trouble hearing. And so we’ll just try to answer that question headed for judges right now in the Old Testament chapter 11. And she wanted to know about verse 30. Almost there, and Judges 11.30 says, this is about Jeptha, and he vowed a vow to the Lord and said, if thou without fail deliver the chill of Amman into mine hands, that he would sacrifice his whatever came through the door.
And it turns out he offered up his daughter. This was terribly wrong. God never expects you to keep a vow that is unscriptural. I see a lot of times people that have made a vow that they have sold their soul to Satan and then they feel obligated to keep that all their life. You’re never obligated to keep a vow like that because that’s totally wrong and certainly unscriptural. If you say, I’m going to kill somebody and you make a vow, not obligated to keep that vow to kill somebody.
Murder is wrong. And so I think Jephthah was wrong and I think Jephthah should not have kept that vow. You’re definitely not ever under obligation to keep a vow that is unscriptural grace. I hope that helps. Thank you for calling and listening in the Bibleline and I’m sorry we had difficulty with our communication on the phone there and thank you for calling. We have Tommy in Chattanooga, Tennessee. calls in, leaves this offer question in Romans 11 22. It says if you don’t continue in his goodness, you will be cut off.
Please explain. This is to you every day and I love your discernment about the Scriptures. This is talking about Israel corporately as a nation and the Gentiles corporately as a group that as Israel was set aside and God has now used us Gentiles as his witnesses that he would do the same with us Gentiles if we should fail and go back and use the Jews. And that’s exactly what’s about ready to take place. We are failing terribly today as Gentiles in witnessing and reaching the lost.
We see the world becoming more evil, more secular, more godless every day because we as Christians are failing. believer if we were witnessing Christians would turn this world upside down. Can you imagine Paul was spoken of in the apostles as those who turned the world upside down in their day in the book of Acts? Well obviously they didn’t turn the world upside down. They turned it right side up. The world is always upside down. We need to get it turned right back side up by giving people what the Bible has to say.
And apparently very few are doing that Jesus recognized that he said that the harvest is truly great and the laborers are few and it were to pray to the Lord of the harvest to send forth more laborers into his harvest. We need believers just like all of you listening today to stand up and speak out for Jesus Christ. Lead your family to Christ, lead your relatives to Christ, lead those that you’re crossing paths with every day to Christ. If every Christian did that, we can have a tremendous impact upon the world around us, and we ought to be doing that.
I hope that answers your question there. Tommy and Chattanooga, it’s not talking about an individual losing their salvation, but it’s talking about how the nation of Israel is going to be grafted back in, and the Gentiles will be cut off as being God’s witnessing body here in this world. We’re going to go now to Matthew in Spring Hill and Matthew, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning Dr. Hank. Good morning. Yeah, I don’t really have any questions.
I just wanted to add a couple of comments regarding this Catholic Church and the Boston or anything. You know, I don’t know the exact reference in the Bible but it talks about what God hates when men teach the commandments of men rather than the doctrines that got it established. That’s definitely something that’s going on a lot with all these requirements for salvation. And the only other thing that I wanted to say and bring up is that everyone who isn’t controlled by the Holy Spirit or doesn’t have the Holy Spirit, and it’s not necessarily that they are they are anti-cryst or or anything like that it’s just the overall the world you know i’m saying yes So, yeah, I just wanted to bring that up, I guess.
Well, thank you very much. I appreciate that call and you’re absolutely right. And that is, of course, as we spoke earlier about this Faustina, this saint of the Roman Catholic Church, obviously, she claimed that God called her to be a nun, and then she has all these crazy things that she claims that happened to her. But as soon as she said that she visited purgatory, there is no purgatory. So obviously she was deluded because nobody has been purgatory and nobody ever will go to purgatory because there is no purgatory.
And then to speak to the dead like Mary face to face and to Jesus, I definitely believe this is not true and think people are just being deceived. Unfortunately, the whole doctrine of sainthood in the Catholic Church that men or women are elected to sainthood by the Church is crazy. Every believer according to the Bible is a saint at the moment you believe. The word sanctified means to make pure and holy from the Greek and when you trust Christ you are sanctified through the offering of the Body of Jesus at the cross according to Hebrews 10-10 and the noun form of that word, the verb sanctified, is a saint.
So every sanctified person is a saint and that happens for every believer at the moment of belief. We have Barbara in Richmond, Virginia and she says about tithing. Could you explain when you don’t have enough to pay your bills, should you pay your bill or give the 10 percent? I know the times belongs to God. Well, you know, sometimes it seems impossible and how can this possibly take place. But if you read some of the wonderful stories, you read the story of the widow that Elijah came to during that great time of drought and he asked her to prepare him a meal and she said that she only had enough for herself and her son and she was preparing that last meal and then she was going to eat it and they were both going to die.
It was a terrible time of famine and starvation and we find that he asked her to give him first and you know she did. And then her barrel never ran out of meal or her other barrel never ran out of oil. She had all that she needed and the Lord provided. And only sometimes we need to trust God that He will supply. But certainly you need to be responsible in your spending. You don’t need to be wisely spending your money.
You don’t want to waste money or get yourself in financial debt that you don’t belong in. But definitely we should realize that the Lord can supply all of our needs according to His riches in Christ Jesus. And Bible will be praying for you and Make sure that you maybe get some wise counsel about your spending maybe you can cut back in other areas to help yourself out, but definitely Give to God and God will bless you for you’re giving to him We have Mike in Peter Berg, Virginia, and he leaves this off her question.
I am looking to purchase a new Bible I’m used to the King James version, but my new church uses the message version choke off. What are your thoughts on this message version? I mentioned it a little bit earlier, but that’s really a terrible, terrible Bible. It, I think, is disrespectful to God. I believe in many passages that I’ve looked up. It absolutely reverses the meaning for what it’s really saying. And it sounds to me, you got to like, that is only the tip of the iceberg.
If you have a church it’s recommending the message version. I think you probably are in a bad church. I think I would go on the hunt for a sound Bible teaching believing church, which is what we ought to do. The Bible definitely says in Romans 16 that we are to mark those who teach doctrine, conjure to the Bible, and by bringing in that version, definitely they’re doing that. That’s a one-man version, and obviously this writer of that version is adding all his personal bad doctrine to that Bible.
We have here Jonathan in Tampa, Florida. He says, how did God bring every living thing on the earth after his own kind to every sort on an ark that was only 450 feet long and 75 feet wide and 45 feet high? Good question. Well obviously He didn’t have to bring adult animals. Most people, when they see the movies, they see these giant elephants moving their way up the ramp into the ark and giraffes and so on. He only had to bring the baby elephants and baby giraffes and baby hippos.
And by the way, there’s a great book that has been written about the flood by Henry M. Morris. And it’s a very thick scholarly volume that shows that the arc was sufficiently large, had three floors, that all of the animals could have been contained on one floor. And all the food, if they needed to have food for that time, although the animals might of hibernated could have been on the second floor. And the third floor could have been just for knowing his family to enjoy.
They probably could have played football, basketball, even baseball on the ark. It was quite large. I would recommend you get the book by Henry Amoris called the Genesis Flood. It really was an eye-opener to me about how large that capacity is and how that if you get two of every species if you bring in the small babies that it would be sufficiently large to put them all on one floor. Check that out Jonathan. It’s really God knows what he’s doing.
We have Loretta in Richmond, Virginia and she leaves this question. My sister is a Jehovah’s Witness. Could you give me some scripture that I can use to use with her. Absolutely, Loretta, your whole of his witnesses deny almost every truth in the Bible. It’s easier to tell you what a witness does not believe than what they do believe. They don’t believe in the Trinity. They don’t believe in the deity of Christ. They don’t believe in salvation by faith. They don’t believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit.
They don’t believe in blood transfusions. They don’t believe in fighting for your country. They don’t believe in saluting the flag. They don’t believe in celebrating birthdays and I could go on and on and on about all the negatives about what they don’t want. But obviously they reject Christ and according to the Bible 1 John 2 23, whosoever denyth the Son the same hath not the Father, Loretta write it down. If you deny Jesus, which the Jehovah’s Witnesses do, you don’t have the Father, so the Jehovah’s Those witnesses are Jehovahless.
You heard it. Isn’t that amazing? They need to scratch the word Jehovah out. They are simply false witnesses. They do not have the Father. Who’s the whoever they deny the Son, the same hath not the Father. The Bible says, who’s the whoever acknowledged the Son, the same hath the Father also. In 2nd John, chapter 1 verse 9, it says, if you deny the doctrine of Christ, which they do, then you don’t have God. So the Jehovah’s Witnesses are godless.
They are priceless, godless, and fatherless. They are false witnesses, and that will be a little bit of help. Use those verses and don’t let them wiggle because they will not make heaven if they deny Christ. Jesus said it in John 14, 6, I am the way, the truth and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me. It doesn’t say except for the Jehovah’s Witnesses. They will not make it. Christ says I’m the way. They reject Christ.
They will not therefore come into the Father because they reject Christ who is the only way to the Father. I hope you’ve enjoyed today here on Bibleline and I hope you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior. The only way to get to heaven is to trust that He died and shed His blood and paid for your sins in full. We’re going to call in Tampa, Florida. welcome to bible and you’re on the air that you have to have a guy with a question on uh…
the people when he uh… went to konelius and they got baptized in the holy goes to begin to speak in terms and glorified god how is that if people are when they begin to continue was for them to understand you know what how did that differ in acts ten forty six to act okay well first of all the gift of tons was the speaking of known for language the dialect. Peter had Jewish people with him and to confirm that these Gentiles had really truly been saved or see the Holy Spirit.
They were given the gift of The language of those that were with Peter I believe and they heard them rejoice and praise God in their very language. They’re very dialect and that was the sign. So that’s exciting. And so, but that’s not the gibberish has been done today. That’s totally a different ball game. So here they were able to speak in a Gentile language to these Jews that came along with Peter in that very dialect that they were familiar with in that.
obviously uh… was a big surprise to them we don’t have karelle in my ami for the carol welcome the battle on good morning i worry we just got a few seconds to ask you question yet i have a quick question is uh… this was a good and work uh… in reference to a lot of mark when it talks about if you have faith and say that it’s not going to be that we move into the cat into the sea is it is it we found to you know the formula that you know whatever we speak will happen and that’s definitely not that at all if you read very carefully in the context he’s talking about the amount of all of the people standing upon and that specific mountain and by the way that per request will still be answered because when christ comes back that now will split in half and will be removed
