February 25th we hope that you will plan to go with us. If you need a brochure call us we’ll send it right out. If you want to look at it even before that, go on the internet site, BibleLineMinistries.org. Click on Bibleline News on the homepage and you’ll be connected to the full four-page brochure and the full two-page itinerary showing exactly what we’re going to be doing and so on. And it’s not too late, but we do want you to get going and start looking and make your decision because we want you on board with us here on that trip.
That’s February 25th of Monday coming back March 7th of Friday, 12 full days in Israel. It will be number 15 for me. We’ll be studying the Bible every day and for morning until night it will be a wonderful life-changing experience. If you’ve not been baptized, we’ll be glad to baptize you in the Jordan River. Wouldn’t that be great? To have that experience and my first to see the Tomb of Christ, the Hill of Calvary, the Sea of Galilee, the Dead Sea, and the Battle of Armageddon location at Megiddo.
We’re going to see it all. We want you to be a part of it. By the way, our Resource Center is open. If you want to get some of our specials, we still have them running until next week. So if you want to get those 20, how permanent are your Salvation CDs? And also included with that would be the handbook on personal evangelism and 50 of our best tracks you might going to have for a gift of $100. That’s a $120 value, but that will help by the line.
And also be a tool for you to evangelize as you give out those CDs. We hear stories every day of people coming to Christ through those CDs. That’s exciting. I just heard a story this morning in fact, halfway across the country where a person gave it out to a friend and they got saved. And apparently they were an atheist prior to their hearing the CD. Don’t let anything like somebody saying, I’m an atheist, deter you. Let them play it anyway.
Say, listen to this thing. And it really does work. We’re excited about that. And we hope that Bibleline was a blessing to you. We’re getting responses really from around the world we have here in my hand an email that we got from New bye in the United Arab Emirates over there in the Middle East and apparently a listener. And I have a paragraph of comments from this fellow. We also get comments from all over the United States. I have one here from Tennessee.
And the lady writes in and says, who gives you the right to say who will get into heaven and how they might get there. The Lord loves us all. She believes everybody is going to heaven, of course. The Lord does love us all. And I’m not the one who chooses who goes to heaven or not, but the Bible says that God is. And he makes it very clear that Christ is the way, the truth, the life, and no man, no man, no man, can come unto the Father but by Christ.
So if you try to get to heaven by any other means, than trusting in the death the shed blood of Jesus Christ at the cross is burial resurrection. You’re not going to make heaven. And that’s what God says. And that’s not my opinion. That’s plainly what the scriptures teach. Peter the Apostle said in Acts 4, 12, neither is there salvation than any other, for there’s none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. So we’re excited and we’d love to hear from you.
You’re welcome to call us. You’re welcome to write us. You’re welcome to email us. If you go to our radio page on the website, when you click on that, it’s all set up for you to make comments and write a question and just put your first name and your city and hit submit and we’ll get that. And that’s how these are getting to us. People are clicking on our radio page. That means click on the spinning globe on the home page and you’re going to get connected to us.
So I hope you will do that. And we hope that you’ll enjoy Bible and today maybe call a friend and have them tune in with us. And so if you have a question, you’re welcome to call in and we hope that you’ll call that 800-100-576-3771. Want to welcome our Miami listeners? cms we’re hearing more and more from you guys down there and that’s exciting. I was born and raised in Miami so I have a special affection for Miami and of course I’m a Florida boy having been raised and lived here all of my life, although I’ve traveled all over the world.
Florida has been my home. And we’re excited about being with you today. The year is about ready to just disappear on us and we’ll be in the year 2008 very, very You know, I hear so often preachers, evangelists, Bible teachers say, invite Christ in your heart as an invitation for salvation. And what is interesting is that it’s not biblical. It’s not biblical. There is no place that anyone is told to invite Christ into their heart and they would be saved.
What is the problem with this? problem with this. Well, again, it bypasses the gospel. Romans 1 16 says, I’m not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for if the gospel is the power of God and the salvation to everyone that believe it. The word belief in the Greek means to trust, to rely upon, to put your confidence in, to rest your weight upon. So unless you trust in the death and shed blood of Christ, you rest your confidence and put your trust in the fact that Jesus died there for you, You can’t be saved.
There’s nothing in the Bible about asking God to save you that would bring about salvation. What surprised me as a new believer, reading the stories in the gospel, I found out that both thieves asked to be saved, but only one was. Isn’t that amazing? So you can ask God to save you. You can plead with God to save you. You can pull your hair and weep and cry and punish yourself as you ask God to save you. And you won’t be saved.
The only way you can be saved is as it says in 1631, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. The word believe again is the Greek word, pestu o p-i-s-t-e-u-o, and it means to trust, to rely upon, to put your confidence in, to rest your weight upon. So when you trust Christ as the one who made the full payment for your sin at the cross, God saves you. Now I’m a particular victim of this phrase as Christ in your heart to be saved.
The church I was raised in had us do that every Sunday and I was made to go to church from a little boy. My mother tells me I was a cradle roll baby. So no soon after I was born they they added me to the cradle roll. I was one of those little babies in the nursery and I grew up in the church and every Sunday our church would take a moment and they would sing a chorus and it would go something like this.
Into my heart into my heart come into my heart Lord Jesus come in today come in to stay. come into my heart Lord Jesus well I can still sing that I heard it so often in my younger years then our church took a moment of silence where everybody was instructed to invite Jesus into their heart I did that every Sunday I I did it oh my theology was based on that course I’d never learned any Bible in the church I was raised in but that was my theology so I had lots of little prayers lined up I would say something like God if you Jesus if you came into my heart once before and you left Would you please come back and this time would you stay?
Jesus if you never came into my heart I sure hope you’d come in today. Would you come in to my heart and would you would you please stay? because the song implied that he would come and go and you could lose him and You could lose your salvation. That’s what the church. I was raised and believe anyway I did that to be fair. I did it from the time I was 6 to 18. I had to be definitely ill to miss church.
So let’s say 50-70s a year times 12 years between 6 and 18. That’s 600 times if you do the math. I invited Christ in my heart. And I was never saved. I was never saved. You can do that to your deathbed. And you will not be saved because it wasn’t until I was 18 that I understood that I had to trust in the death and the shed blood of Jesus that his death at the cross and his burial and his resurrection was the gospel message.
And if I trusted in that price, did that for me, I would be saved. And yet it’s amazing. Listen carefully how many preachers evangelist Bible teachers tell their audience all the time to invite Jesus into their heart. Well guess what? I did it for all my younger years until I was 18. I did it hundreds of times I was never saved. When I heard the gospel message, I immediately said, wow, this is different than what my church taught me.
And that time, for the first time, trusted Jesus Christ as the one who made the full payment for my sin was buried in rose again from the dead. And I knew from scripture that I was saved from that moment on. I had no assurance at all before that because I never knew whether Jesus came into my heart or whether he left, whether he came back or whether he left again or what was going on there. I had no idea.
And you know, it’s absolutely a shame. I remember speaking at a children’s camp. I spoke in a lot of different adult events and children’s events and teenage events, but this was for the elementary age. And I’ll never forget one time the speaker had given this message about how Jesus wants to get into your heart. And he was knocking at your heart’s door. Would you let him in? I just drove at the wall because I had been raised with that and I knew that wasn’t right.
And so when he got done I was the next speaker and I told the children that was not true. And that is not the way you get saved. You have to trust that he died for you. It was on that cross that Jesus was nailed, and there he shed his blood and paid the sin debt and full. And when you trusted he did it for you, God saved you. There is no door in your heart. Christ does not try to get into your heart or into your kidneys or into your liver or your lungs or any of the body part.
This is absolutely a fabrication, absolutely wrong. And you say, well, what about Revelation 3? 20? Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone will open the door, I will come into him and supple with him and he with me. That is not talking about the heart store. If you read the context of Revelation 3, beginning at verse 14, it is talking to the church that laid to see you. And the church that laid to see you was rich materially and left Jesus outside and he is asking believers to open the church store and he will come into the church and fellowship with the believers inside.
many churches that are financially well off, doing well, Jesus isn’t needed. They don’t bother to call upon him. They don’t have a prayer meeting. They don’t bother the need Christ. They seem to be doing well without him. Jesus says to the believer who is not really involved moment by moment with Jesus to look, I’d like to come into your church and would like to fellowship with the believers there that would like to have fellowship with me. I’ll do that.
I’ll come in and I’ll suffer with you. That means you’ll have supper sitting down around a meal, especially in the biblical days when you’re in the Bible. the time of conversation. There was no television, there was no movies, there was no video games, there was nothing else, and people would sit around and talk. And that was the time of intimacy, and that’s what the Lord would like to have with us. When you trust Christ, you become saved. And then the Christian life is what Revelation 3 20 is talking about.
It is not an invitation for someone to be saved. It’s not the door of the heart, not the door of your life, it’s the door of the land of the sea and church. And any church that leaves Christ out of its activities needs to open the door and Christ will come in and fellowship with them, but unfortunately many do not. I’m Dr. Anker Anker, and this is by blind, and we’re going to go to the phone lines, and we’re excited about being with you today.
Call us at 1-800-576-3771. We are now going to Walter in Lakeland, Florida and Walter, welcome to my one year. Hi, thank you. Actually, I have two questions. One is a Bible question, the other one is a general question. So we’ll start with the easy one first. The general question is, for years I believe the dance is leading me to get involved in evangelism going out across country to evangelize. I’m not sure how I should go about doing that. I don’t know what should be the first step to contact an organization, call into good deal churches.
I’m not sure how to go about doing this. Well, first of all, I think you have to be successful at doing it already. We have the book here, handbooked to personal evangelism, which really equips somebody to be an effective personal witness on the one-on-one. And obviously, if you can do it one-on-one, you can do it with a larger group. I would certainly make sure that you’re able to do that and the Lord is blessing that. You know, one of the ways to know whether you’re called or not is you see a need and obviously you see a need to evangelize and you believe that that’s where God would have you to go.
Then it says you have a desire to meet that need. Apparently you have that desire to meet the need. But thirdly, the Bible teaches that you will have the ability to meet that need if you’re really called of God. So I hope you’ve been trying it out and finding that you’re successful because that’s the preview to that. And I would be happy to talk to you, Off-Air, about guiding you in that direction. I think it’s wonderful. And God bless you.
I hope that you are very successful at doing that. We need more people to win the loss to Christ. So give me a call off here and we’ll talk about how we can maybe steer you or help you toward that goal. What was the other question? Well, the question goes into the book of Ezekiel. It talks about Ezekiel 14 verses 12 to 14. I talked about judgment and scapable, which is the text section in the NIV version. And it says this, The word of the Lord came to me.
The Son of Man, if a country sends against me by being unfaithful and I stretch out my hand against this and cut off a twit supply, then send famine upon it and kill its men and their animals. Even if these three men, Noah, Daniel and Job, were in it, they would save only themselves by their righteousness, declares this Albin Lord. My question is, I’m not sure what their righteousness has to do with anything. Is it a righteousness by faith?
Is it righteousness by observant of the law? I’m not sure. Well, I think generally the righteousness, when somebody is a believer, is called righteousness because they’re a believer. We know that Abraham was declared righteous by faith alone. If you read Genesis 1560, he believed God and it was about the coming of the Savior Jesus and God counted it for righteousness. Then later, when Abraham was told by the Lord that he was going to restore Sodom, you’ll find that Abraham uses that term to bargain with God.
And he says, Lord, if there are 50 righteous in Sodom, would you spare the city? And of course, the Lord said yes. And then Lord, don’t be too angry, but if you’re like this five of those, there’s only 45 righteous, would you spare the city? And he worked it down to 10. Well, there weren’t even 10 there. There were only four, apparently, a lot his wife and their two daughters and they had to be evacuated before God would bring the judgment upon Sodom.
So I think it’s talking about believers who have impeded righteousness. Otherwise the Bible says our righteousness is as filthy rags Isaiah 64, 6. So I think it has to be. Talking about believers there, Noah, Daniel, and the other when you mention they are Job, we’re obviously believers in they were righteous. Good, good doctor, Daniel. We’ll talk again later, Walter. Thank you for calling in. It was Walter. We have Joe down in Pimprog, Pines, Florida, and that’s down in South Florida.
And let’s see here he is Joe welcome to Bibleline your own here How you doing? Good. I just wanted to call to ask you. I go to a church here and stuff like that. I live and it teaches. I don’t know if I should stay going to this church or not because now when I go, I feel as if you’re not in there saying because I don’t agree with what they say about, you know, eschatology. So I just would like to hear advice on how should I approach this.
They can also teach them Calvinism for all I know. I just was asking for your advice on how should I approach this. They can also teach me how to do this before I know. But I’m not even sure of that. So I don’t know what advice you can give me here on this. Well, it tells you that they their view of the Bible is not literal those who teach that there is no millennium are obviously taking the Bible metaphor clear some other way and they don’t take it to be little if you believe it to be literal There is going to be a thousand your kingdom and it’s amazing how many scriptures deal with that kingdom It’s called the day of the war then that occurs hundreds of times in the Old Testament major minor prophets and in the book Revelation chapter 20 mentioned six times in one chapter that’s a
Thousand years in length so I would have difficulty attending a church where they didn’t take the Bible to be literal Because with that kind of liberty, who knows what is true and who isn’t? What isn’t true? I mean obviously there you’re dependent upon those that are teaching you to say well this part is true and this part is not true. All cults do that. The Christian scientists have the book by Mary Baker, Eddie, and she has the book which is the key to health and science in the scriptures.
And she tells you what scriptures you can believe and what scriptures you can’t believe. I think it’s very dangerous teaching and I’m saddened to hear that. But these are generally also churches that teach the replacement theology that we have replaced Israel. And they can’t explain now that we’re nearly 2,000 years since Christ was here if there was a kingdom that was established when they say Christ came back in AD 70, then the thousand years is obviously expired about a thousand years ago.
So they just write it off and say there is no millennium and they are all millennial. In any case, this just leads to more error and more confusion and obviously the Bible I think is to be taken literally. Price certainly seemed to imply that when he said in Matthew 5 17 that, think not that I am coming to destroy the scriptures, the law. He says they’re in the 18th verse, not one letter or the smallest marking of the letter shall in any wise pass from the scriptures till all be fulfilled.
He believed in the literal scripture, a Bible that would come to pass exactly as it was written. Thank you very much for calling in, Joe, and we appreciate that call. And thank you for tuning in down there in Miami. And in the South Florida area, we want to say goodbye to you here early on before the other stations because you go off a little bit before the rest. But again, don’t forget that we’re leaving for Israel. I’d love to have you people in South Florida join me.
Also don’t forget that we’re listserv supported. If you’d like to help my blinders be in the year 2007, you could give a gift by credit card over the phone or mail a gift in. That would really help us because we are on the year down in South Florida and we have to pay for that time and your help would be greatly appreciated. God bless and have a happy new year if we don’t talk to you again before the new year.
Thanks, Miami. All right. We have said goodbye to Miami and now we’re moving on. We have Jerry in Riverview, Florida and Jerry, welcome to Babylon, you’re on the air. Dr. this is my name is Jerry. I was listening to what you’re saying about how the kids have been taught to, I guess, what would it invite, price it to your heart or something like that. Right. There’s nothing about the Bible that teaches that. I certainly agree because there’s no one in the Bible where Christ is.
But you’re getting right on. Yeah. Right. And I do believe and you can seek me and find me when you shall serve for me with all your heart. I do believe in a heart you’re saying about believing the gospel and trust in the Lord and trust in what he’s done for us complete and that he is to save our soul and that we should seek. Is that not an experience of the heart? Is it not a true spiritual experience?
Absolutely. It’s a. It says in Romans 10 and 9 you believe in your heart. The word heart really means the center of your thought processes and it’s really your brain but we use that word from the 1611 era where they did think that you thought with your heart but we really know today we think with our brain. But in any case when you do that that’s when you become saved. You’ve got to go to break here and we can’t believe how quickly the time goes but we’re going to come back.
We’ll do a second half hour Bible and I hope you’ll stay right where you are and don’t go away and I’ll be right back after this short break and we’ll be by blind part two. Don’t go away by blind we’ll be back in a moment give us a call at 1-800-576-3771 that’s 1-800-576-3771. Bonne, Dr. Englund, Stroom and it’s great to be with you. It’s Friday, this year is about history and next week we’ll enter the year 2008. Hopefully you’ll have a wonderful, safe New Year’s and that we’ll be able to continue with the Bible and getting together like we do here on the air or on the Internet right up until Jesus comes back and we believe he’s coming and coming soon.
No doubt the news reflects that every day that we’re getting closer and closer and closer. You know, it’s interesting how that is the Middle East now that is the volatile place in the world and the Bible certainly teaches that in In the Middle East is where the events will take place that will precipitate Christ’s return of the Second Coming. He is going to rule and reign and when he comes back, he’ll come back when the Battle of Armageddon takes place, which will be a court of the Bible triggered off in the Middle East.
I’m leaving for Israel. I hope you’ll go with me. February 28th, 25th round, just two months from now. You can call and we’ll send your brochure right away. You want you to make your reservation and then we’ll work out the details. But you can look at it right now. If you go to the internet, go to BibleLineMinistries.org, click on BibleInNews and you can pull it full four pages, itinerary or rather brochure and the two page itinerary and you can look at all the details and call us and talk to me because we want to make sure you’re on board and if we can get you to make your commitment to go, then we can resolve everything else.
It’s going to be fun. 12-fold days in Israel, trip number 15 for me. We’ll have a super duper time. Bible and the listeners support it as we close out the year. I’d like to be able to pay off all of our bills that we owe. And that’s how we stay on the radio. We have our bills, but the listeners are the ones who support us. We don’t have any other means. So we need your help. So if you could give a gift for the years end to Bible and that would be appreciated.
You could do it by credit card over the phone. our operators are standing by. You can also get our address or call us and ask us to send you a number with our address on it and mail your gift into Bibleline. You can also contribute on our online bookstore on the website. Just go to BibleLineMinistries.org or .com and click on the online bookstore and there’s a place there to give the Bibleline in income and it’s small as a $1.
So if you want to help, that would be great. We have several that give $1 per day to Bible and so if it’s a 30 day month, they give 30 and if they… Have a 31 day month to give $31 and that’s really great. Some have come up with that idea. We’re going to return now to the stations that have been on break and do the second half hour. So we hope that you’ll stay with us now for the second half hour of Bibleline.
Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. 3-7-7-1. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Apparently we’ve got listeners everywhere and 151 countries have logged on so far and It’s exciting. So try it out and pass that word along to your friends in other countries and other parts of the United States and of course tell your friends that are listening the you’re listening on the air to live radio and Pass that word along to your friends as well who are in your community We’re now going to go to the phone lines again.
We have John in Richmond, Virginia, and John, welcome to Bible I knew you are on the air. Hello. Hello John. Yes, sir. You said I gave tenon people to trust Christ to be free. That’s what you’re saying. That’s what you have to do. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and I shall be saved. Trust Him. Trust Him. The word believe from the great means of trust. Okay, well, you tell the people to trust and then you turn around and tell them you’re not trust.
that power of Christ and be baptized. So if you don’t do what you said, do how you go trust Him. Well, he didn’t say to do that to be saved. He said to do that as a testimony after you become saved. If you read Matthew 28 in the Great Commission there, it talks about baptizing disciples. The discipleship is a second decision. You become saved, you become a believer, you go to heaven by trusting what Christ did for you at the cross, and that work was finished, but then as you choose to serve him and live for him, as a disciple, you are baptized as an outward declaration of your ministry.
When the Old Testament priest became 30 years of age, he was fully immersed, fully baptized in water as a ceremonial cleansing to mark the beginning of his ministry. Jesus also did the very same thing for the same reason. to be saved, Jesus didn’t need salvation, but when he was thirty, he was baptized and that marked the beginning of his ministry. The disciples should be water baptized by a mercy and I baptized a ton of people this year by a mercy.
I put them right under the water and they come back up and they give testimony to how their cleansers are sent by the blood of Christ. But if they were never baptized, they would still be saved. This is what separates out somebody who is going to hopefully live in the newness of life that we have in Christ and wants to publicly declare that. But water will not wash away your sin. Go ahead. He told Nicodemus, cracked on Nicodemus, Nicodemus asked him what he had to be say.
He told Nicodemus to be back. He had to be baptized. I differ with you there. He never told Nicodemus to be baptized. He told him he had to be born of water and of the Spirit. And the birth of water, Nicodemus already had. He said marvel not that I said unto the rest be born again. He had the birth of water. Now he to have the birth of the Spirit which occurred by trusting Christ as Savior, but nowhere did Jesus ever tell Nicodemus to be baptized.
Peter didn’t tell Nick you didn’t say anything. He said in Acts 2.38, repent and be baptized, but if you read carefully it says be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. That is a cleansing of washing of your sin given by the authority of Jesus’ name as He is the one who grants salvation to all those who believe on Him. But it’s not water in Acts 2.30. You receive the Holy Spirit when you are cleansed of your sin by the new birth when you trust Christ the Savior and that’s what it’s talking about next to 38.
You receive the forgiveness of your sin and you receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. And if you look over to Acts 10, the same guy Peter, you have the same experience and there they received the Holy Spirit. They believed and they were cleansed that are sinned by the blood of Christ and then Peter says, can any man forbid water, acts 1047, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Spirit as well as we. There they got saved, they received the Holy Spirit, and then they were water baptized later.
And it had nothing to do with their salvation. Water came after the salvation experience, which is the baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus. Okay. Thank you so much for your call, but I’m afraid if you add water to be a reader, requirement for salvation, you stray greatly from the Bible, and possibly you won’t make heaven because you’re trusting in a human work to save you. Clearly Christ makes it plain that water baptism is a work in Matthew 3.15, and if you read Titus 3.5 it says, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy, He saved us.
Thank you John. We now have Linda. Linda is calling in from Spring Hill, Florida. Linda, welcome to Bibleline You’re On Air. Good morning Dr. Hain. I hope after all that, teaching there I can learn what I wanted to ask clearly. The gentleman previous to the break was talking about, you know, the mind, the verses of the brain. And it got me thinking, in the garden, the brain and the spirit man were both alive. And they were in accordance. But then the fall, you have the brain, a man, just thinking.
And it’s all upside down. And the spirit man is like dormant. He’s cursed. Then when you trust Christ and it quickens, the Holy Spirit quickens your spirit man and it’s born again and it looks at things above, now the things that the brain takes in and it’s intellect, studying the scripture, things you’ve heard, all your experiences, they come alongside the spirit man and now you’re thinking and everything is born again and it’s alive. So I’m wondering if, I guess, how can I ask it?
Is it possible that when they’re saying, and not ask Jesus in your heart, but when it’s in the heart, could it really be, I mean, that’s talking about the mind, but could it be the connection of your spirit man coming alive again to the things that got along the brain? Well, it comes together. I guess the best first I would throw out there is 1 Corinthians 2, 14. It says the natural man, that’s the unregenerate man, the man who’s not born again, the unbeliever.
It says the natural man receive it not the things of the Spirit of God for their fulllessness in them. Neither can he know them because they are spiritually discerned. So the unsay person, the Bible’s foolishness to him. The Bible doesn’t make any sense to him. But once you become saved, once you trust Christ, then all of a sudden the Bible tells us the Holy Spirit illuminates our understanding. So the doctrine of illumination is the light that God sheds upon the Scriptures to the one who is born again.
When you become saved, all of a sudden it’s like the light comes on. I remember that experience and I said to myself, I can see now, the light has come on. I finally understood the Gospel of Christ, things in the Bible made sense, that made no sense before. And truly that is something that happens I think with every believer. And some realize it more than others because they jump in with excitement into the Bible and begin to learn many things they didn’t know before.
But that I think is the key. Right, that’s what I was thinking is, you know, you’re hearing things and they’re logged in your brain like a computer, but it doesn’t come to life and it says that you can’t come… what does it you can’t be born again unless God draws you. That’s true, but also you have to remember in John 1232 it says he draws all men. He draws everybody, but not everybody becomes saved because there’s the free will of men where you can reject Christ.
Everybody is drawn to those that respond to that drawing and trust Christ become born again and become saved. They obviously at the moment of salvation then have the Holy Spirit to enlighten their understanding when they study the word and it becomes clear. Obviously the light comes on. Well, yeah, I didn’t mean like Calvinism and election. I just meant that he’s wooing you and wooing you and he’s giving you things along the way and your brain’s taking it in. But your spirit man is still dormant from the fall of Adam.
Absolutely. And then all of a sudden the Holy Spirit doing his work, that one final word or whatever it is that all of a sudden springs to life and your spirit man is like waking up and he says yes, I want you Lord, I trust you and then you’re born again. You know I trust what you’ve done for me and you told me. I don’t know that. Well the answer is that the Word of God brings life to the dead people who can hear the Word and when they respond in faith and trust in Christ then they become born again and the light turns on.
Thank you Linda and interesting to ponder these things. We now have Jean in St. Petersburg and Jean, welcome to Bibleline your own here. Hello Jean. Hi Dr. Lutzfeld. Yes. I have four questions. One of them is, you know, did Cain really know why Jesus favored Abel’s office? Why was he afraid to go, you know, to the people of the wilderness? You know, who created those people? I mean, I know Adam, Eve, and Cain, and his brother, and I’m pleased with what I’m getting.
Well, first of all, I think Cain did know what sacrificing should have been because they were instructed, both of them, and Cain did it his way. Cain violated the Scriptures and did not bring an offering that reflected what God had told him to bring, you know. And God gave him a chance to get it right. He said you can get this thing right, but instead of getting it right, he took it the next step and murdered his brother Abel.
But when he fled, you know, this murder didn’t take place when there were kids playing in the sandbox out back behind the house. Apparently it took place when these were, a key neighbor were 125 years of age. So they were fully adult and some have speculated it. By then, the population on the earth could have been around a hundred thousand people. And obviously at the time of the murder, there was lots of people there. These were brothers and sisters and their kids and their kids and so on that had populated the earth.
And Cain says in Genesis 414, Lord, everyone that finds me shall slay me. And we know that he’s talking about all these that had come up while he was growing up. and he was under twenty five years of age now perhaps a population of a hundred thousand people on the planet and and he was concerned of it they would try to kill him well obviously when he went to the land of nod he took his wife with him and there he had children and they had children and so on that whole generation died off in the flood and one more quick question did they know about the word i know they knew about death but did they know about the word murder because that’s what he did.
No, I think that was the first murder. And so, Cain got off without being killed for that. Later in Genesis 9, it says if somebody takes another person’s life, that by man should his life be taken. So the Bible Institute’s Capital Punishment in chapter 9 of Genesis. But Cain, since it had never happened before, got off. But he was punished. But he didn’t get it. He wasn’t killed as a result. And thank you and we’re now going to go to, we got all of our lines all lit up here.
We’re going to go to Ron in Jackson, Michigan and Ron. Welcome to the pipeline. You’re on there. Hello, Pastor. How are you, sir? Good. A great chance to get to talk to you. I’ve been listening to you. Usually it’s part of my quiet time. I’m able to use your… I did have a question being thrown around definition for those. Legalism is where they add burdens or works to you that are really illegitimate because we’re not under the law. And certainly these things are not a requirement for salvation.
So that’s not true. Free grace is a slam against Salvation being a gift and not by works at all and But the Bible uses the phrase free gift about five times in Romans chapter five and Grace by definition is free because it’s unmerited. So certainly it’s true but generally those that are Not too happy with teaching that you’re saved by grace or by faith alone in Christ alone slam it by calling it free grace. So it’s usually a negative slam against the true message and those who say that generally have it wrong.
On the last one, what was it hyper what? Hypergrace and easy-believism. Again I think there’s slams against the gospel trying to say it’s all of grace and not of works but that’s what the Bible says Romans 11 6 if by grace it’s no more works Otherwise grace is no more grace, but if it be of works, it’s no more grace. Otherwise, work is no more work. So that’s a great defining verse for us where Romans 11 6 says that you can’t mix the two.
They’re not mixable. So you can’t add any works to it. So it sounds like those are terms by people that are arguing against their own salvation. You know, the salvation that God offers is free and they want to make it to cost something. And if that be the case, they won’t be saved at all. One more question if I may. I have a friend who is a Seventh-day Adventist, dear sweet lady who attend one of their prophecy seminars this past summer and I was hearing some rather strange things.
They, of course, in defense and how they meet together on the Seventh-day, I hear things Everything is like, you know, the 10 commandments, the law of God, was not nailed to the cross like the law of Moses was. And so… And so that’s the reason why the Ten Commandments are still the law of Moses is not. And I was wondering what you thought about that. I think that’s just trying to twist words because Moses gave all the law one time.
So that’s not true. And by the way, the law was never given to the Gentile, it was given to Israel. If you read Jeremiah 31 and chapter 32, it talks that the law or the Rev. Sabbath was a sign between God and between Israel, never between the Gentiles. And we’re not under the law. And if you read the Colossians 2, 16, it makes it clear, let no man, therefore, because what Christ did at the cross, was nailed it to the cross, let no man judge you in respect of a holy day or of the Sabbath.
So we’re not to be judged concerning the Sabbath because it was taken out of the way, nailed the cross. Okay. Well, thank you, sir. You are a blessing as always and I appreciate you very much. God bless you Ron and thanks for calling in today from Jackson, Michigan and listening to Lansing, Michigan. We have David now in Albany, New York and David, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Earth. Good morning, okay, huh? Yeah. How you doing? It’s a day from New York.
Well, great. You were such a blessing. You came down here and spent a day with us and sat in our program and this is exciting to hear your voice again. Yeah, thank you very much for your nice sentiment. I really call back to talk to the audience because I… You know, I came to Lakeland and I decided to drive up the temple, which is about 34 miles, to see him and came out, got out of my car, Dr. Hank asked me, could he help me?
And just a plain, decent person in a basic vehicle, nothing extravagant, ushered into the church, And I got to go into the bookstore, and it looked through all this, books and stuff. And then he asked me if I wanted to sit in to the show. And so we went to his pastor’s study that is the studio. It’s amazing. It’s beautiful. Books all around, nothing extravagant. Just a basic pastor’s study was just surrounded by these people. The Bibleline is just Dr.
Hank. James is on the technical stuff. Mike, I’m not sure what Mike’s on, but he’s right there with Dr. Hank and Bruce. And it’s just amazing that these people run Bibleline. I mean, I’ve heard people talk about investments and stuff. If you’re going to invest with an organization, choose Bibleline because with all the people that are out there that we’re not sure what they’re doing with our money or God’s money, I think we should trust Dr. Hank and Bibleline.
It’s beautiful. And with all the people that are leading us astray, I mean, Dr. Hagler, we go inside his church and we’re going to be in the church. and it’s got to be the most educated church I’ve ever seen in my life. I mean, he has material. every subject you could possibly think of. And I got everything I could possibly find, you know, with all the people that are leading us astray. The Catholics are leading people away in drool.
We’re just glad to have you, Dr. Hank, and I just want to thank you. I think you David and yeah, we’re lean and mean here. We just have right in the studio right now It’s myself and James on the phones and the two of us are really doing Bible and we’re talking to people all over the world and We’re so glad that we got to meet you as a result as you listen up there in Albany, New York and Made a trip down here and came by to see us which we invite people to do and A lot of people come in here say this is not the way I thought it was they thought I’d had a bunch of researchers I’m just grabbing books and studying, getting answers for me real quick, and they couldn’t do it quick enough.
I’m afraid that there’s just myself and my Bible, and James actually in the studio with me, and we’re doing this thing live right now. Yeah, that was the part that really amazed me, because whenever you call somebody on show, they’ve got to know the topic and all this other stuff so they can look it up and make the person who they’re talking to shine. You’re sitting there with your bobbin on your lap. The bob is just amazing. So thank you.
And I also want to say give a shout out to that nice pastor, the one that was in there I can’t buy in the Bible, but I think he was a good testament to your honesty of the matter. He worked it out. He realized that he needed to change a couple things in his ministry and he did, and I thought that was nice. Beautiful. Thank you so much, David. And have a wonderful new year, happy new year. David in Albany, New York, came down and saw us.
And that was a lot of fun. Now Liz in Prince George, Virginia and Liz welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. And he uses people just like you who like the program and want to see it continue to give to support it. So we’re really asking for lost souls to be saved that you would give and help support by one, because we don’t pay any salaries.
