We just got an email this week from Singapore. That’s right.

And he writes to me, Dr. Hank, I discovered your website at Bibleline and I consider it a blessing and he writes a full paragraph here and he signs it in Christ, Frederick. Apparently, he is already a believer, but he’s found the Bible and to be a blessing. We have people from over the world that are tuning in 151 countries on every continent except Antarctica, but we’re in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, the Pacific islands, Asia, Africa, the Middle East.

We got an email just this last week from the United Arab Emirates from Dubai. And we are really getting a lot of people from all over the world finally is. By the way, our worship services are webcast and the past years where the sermons are sitting there for you to take a look at if you’d like to. All you have to do is go to BibleLineMinistries.org. Getting close to Israel now, we’re just a little bit less than two months away. It’s not too late for you to go. We would love to have you make that decision to go so that we can make sure that we have reserved your seat on the plane.

We’ll be leaving February 25th on Monday, coming back on March 7th of Friday, 12 full days in Israel. We’re going to have a marvelous time. We’re going to go to the top of the Mount of Transfiguration. We’ll be spending a full day down the Vincis, seeing the waterfalls that are getting, the nature of wildlife preserve there. We’ll see Kumran where the Dead Sea Schools are found. We’ll take a swim in the Dead Sea where he actually just flew. We’ll also have a wonderful dinner at a lecture hotel in the Dead Sea overlooking the Dead Sea at night.

And we’ll just have a great time. We’re going to the top of the Masada by cable car. And it’s a mesa that rises up 1,200 feet from the foot of the Dead Sea. And it’s quite a spectacular view. This is where Herod had built this spectacular winter palace, where as it’s got cold in Jerusalem in the winter and even snows, he would come down to the Dead Sea and enjoy the warm weather. I don’t know. He had swimming pools, spas, and everything, and it’s quite a remarkable place, especially with the history of the Romans coming in 8070 and destroying Jerusalem, the temple, and the last holdout were a group of 900 zealots.

It sat up on top of Masada and defended it for three years until finally, when the Romans had built a ramp. They committed suicide, all of them. And they said that they would rather die than become slaves to Rome. And of course this is the, in a sense, the Alamo for Israel. Like we said, we must never let the Alamo fall. Again, the Jewish people, their military recruits go up to Masada and they basically say the same thing, that they would fight to the death rather than let their enemies take that land that they have.

Well, it’s exciting. We are looking forward to going to Israel. We’ll be back passing in the Jordan River We’ll go see the Tomb of Christ the Hill of Calvary We’ll see the Sea of Galilee and we’ll just see one end of Israel to the other We would love to have you on board with us All right, if you’re ready for the Bible, we’re gonna get into it right now and it’s amazing how the wonderful story of Christ begins long ago way back in the Old Testament.

The Psalms are loaded with messianic Psalms, Psalms about the Messiah and how the Messiah would come of a virgin born in the city of Bethlehem. And so many things are predicted, especially the details around the crucifixion. Hundreds of prophecies. In fact, there are are about 330 detailed prophecies about the first coming of Jesus all fulfilled literally and many many more that are still to be fulfilled at the second coming of Christ. When you think about the probability of that taking place it’s not impossible but yet it happened and that proves and demonstrates that the Bibles of Word of God and that Jesus Christ is indeed the Messiah.

If you gave each of those 330 prophecies a one chance in 10 probability, you would have a probability of one chance in 10 to the 330th power. That’s a phenomenal number. You can imagine writing a one and then 330 zeros following. 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0. Even the same 330 zeros is La Bois. Well that’s the kind of odds and Jesus fulfilled every one of those prophecies to the letter. That’s why I believe the Bibles of Word of God.

I was amazed to see that in Psalm 22, a thousand years before Jesus ever came, it told how Christ his hands and his feet would be pierced. Isn’t that amazing? A reference to crucifixion when basically crucifixion was unheard of at that time when the prophet David wrote. This, of course, was fulfilled when the Romans came and were in charge of the world. They invented crucifixion and Christ was crucified. It even tells us in Psalm 22 that they would gamble for the clunk of Christ at his feet.

Part of these things happened. The fact that Christ would thirst on the cross foretold back in the Old Testament Psalms. the fact that he would not have a bone in his body broken. Whereas they broke the bones of the two thieves that were crucified with Christ They came to Christ and did not break a bone in his body and the scripture was fulfilled that not a bone in the Messiah’s body would be broken. Isn’t that amazing? These are amazing things and of course Isaiah 53 tells the story of the crucifixion, the substitutionary death of Christ, how Christ was silent before his accusers, how he would die being cut off out of the land of the living, and God would be satisfied with his death as the sacrifice for your sins and mind.

It actually describes there in Isaiah 53.5 that he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed. It’s amazing. Because here it talks about Christ substituting Himself in our place, paying our sin debt by His death and shed blood about 740 years before He ever came. And it happened literally just as the Bible described. And those that would have knowledge of Christ and trust Him as their Savior, the Bible says would be justified or saved as God would save all those that would put their trust in Jesus Christ as their Savior.

It’s exciting. And that’s why I believe the Bible is the Word of God. I never got any of this in Sunday school or in church when I was a little boy. I never really got any answers at all that were satisfying to my questioning. I remember asking questions and adults would pat me on the head and say, well, one day, Sonny, you’ll understand. Or one day when you get older, you’ll find the answers. And I really was very, very discouraged.

In fact, I was ready to go another direction with my life. I had let science become my God because obviously the Church did not introduce me to the living God, the God of the universe who chose to come to the earth. Christmas is when we remember that coming, where he took on flesh as a baby in Bethlehem and then grew up as a child and became a man and went to the cross and shed his blood to pay for the sins of the world as God’s Lamb, as the sinless Lamb of God.

From the beginning pages of Genesis it talked about a blood sacrifice being necessary. And it says in Hebrews 10 22, without the shedding of blood there is no remission for sin. So no one, no one can interheaven apart from trusting Jesus as their Savior. And obviously if you have not done And so you’re in trouble because if you should die without Christ as your Savior, having trusted Him and Him alone is the only means of your getting to heaven, you will not go to heaven.

That’s scary. Why am I ever so glad I heard this message when I was 18 and trusted Christ? I wish I had heard it earlier and had I, I’m sure I would have trusted Christ because I just never heard it. I never heard the wonderful gospel news of the death-barrel resurrection of Christ. Now I knew he died and I knew he was buried and I knew he came back from the dead. But what I mean is I never heard that I had to trust Christ as the means of my salvation.

I was told that he did all those things, but I had to work my way to heaven, which is not true. Salvation is according to the Bible. Not of works. List any man should boast or Bragg. And it says it throughout the Bible, very clear. In Ephesians 2-9 it says it’s not of work, so any man should boast or bragg. Nobody is able to say, well I deserve to go to heaven. Look at all the wonderful things I’ve done.

Well if you attempt to do that obviously you are on the wrong path because you’re trusting in yourself to get you to heaven. You become the Savior. Your works are what will gain your entrance. But the Bible says no such thing is possible. It says it’s not a horse. Unless any man should boast or brag. I’m Dr. Englundstrom. I hope you’ve trusted Christ and his blood as the only means of your salvation. And if you have, you are saved forever from that moment on.

We’re going to go to the phone lines here. And if you want to call us at the numbers 1-800-576-3771. And we’re going to go first to Tom up in Richmond, Virginia, and Tom welcome to my one. Good morning Hank, happy new year. The same view. Hey, I’ve got a question for you about it’s an Exodus chapter 20 and chapter 20, you know, we get so used to watching the Ten Commandments with Charlton Heston and everything and we get bad ideas in our head.

Chapter 20 appears to me that chapter 19 in verse 24 and 25 Moses comes down the mountain. He’s actually standing in front of the people of Israel in chapter 20 when God is actually giving verbal 10 commandments at this point. So I was just looking at this thinking, is that what’s happening here? Well, he went down and it says here, so Moses went down under the people and spake into them and God spake all these words saying, I am the Lord thy God.

And so, yeah, the Lord here spoke through Moses to the people and the Lord here had Moses related to the people what he had said and here the Ten Commandments are enumerated here for you. But no doubt about it. The Mount Sinai experience was really exciting because the mountain trembled and shook and it was lightning at the top. Nobody was allowed to go near the mountain nor ascend and if they did they would be killed because apparently anybody that approached would die.

And so they had to stand a far off. So it says here in verse 21, and the people stood a far off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was. So God was revealed, but he was inside the darkness, and only Moses actually went into the cloud to where God was. He’s not before, but as I’ve been reading this though, it does say that he spoke. He’s words to the people and it says that they moved and stood far off and it says they removed.

So apparently, I mean the way I’m looking at this Hank is it looks to me like he actually spoke not through Moses but directly to the point where they fall on this stuff and they were so terrified that they moved away at this point. And if you looked at Deuteronomy four ten it kind of conveyed the same message there were talks about that that they actually he actually gave these ten commandments well if we went after the city went up and actually had the finger of thought right on the tablet so they haven’t even written yet well look here at the Look here at verse 18.

It says here, in all the people saw the thunderings and the lightnings and the noise of the trumpet and the mountain smoking. When the people saw it they removed and stood afar off and they said to Moses, speak thou with us and we will hear. But let not god speak with us last week i said they were scared of death would be scared because they were actually hearing god speak from the top of the mountain down to them very possibly so and uh…

but they were hearing i think that a lot of lightning and a lot of smoke and lightning things were going on here they heard the thunder and scared them decided what god to speak directly to the vast roses to tell us what god is saying i had been so terrifying we’re right essentially that we get the real replay and have it one day i’ll be signing before telling you get a chance to come here my words and the words picked up to use because of the side track by you know watching a ten-command i think i let my mind is that the people he actually spoke a good point thank you for sure now with us today short thing you have a good idea here and i believe you that was common up richman virginia sometimes when they given the Bible for ourselves we discover

whoops it’s not quite the way we had imagined it was we’re now going to go to rick in lootslord and rick welcome the bible and you’re on the earth uh… that i think you’re going to support it Okay, I want to ask you a quick question on earrings. Sometimes kids decide they want to get the earrings and stuff like that. I’m going to hang up and just, you know, if you can give me some scripture or European, you know, I appreciate it.

well you know it’s interesting in uh… leviticus uh… nineteen twenty eight you might want to mark this verse down it uh… talks about how we’re not to uh… have any body piercings nor are we to print any marks on our body. So that pretty much, unless you have a clip on your ring, we’re not really supposed to cut our bodies. It says you’re in Leviticus 19, 28. You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you, I am the Lord.

Probably tattoos are equally wrong. I think the Bible is very clear that God created us and that our bodies, if you’re a believer, are his temple that he dwells in, and he certainly doesn’t want us to to mar them or deface them or paint graffiti on them. But today we have a real, lately anyway, of surge of tattooing and body piercings. And I remember as a little boy, you hardly ever saw much of that. But if you looked in the National Geographic magazine, you saw the pagans in different parts of the world that lived in the jungle painting their bodies and putting marks on their bodies and having the big nose rings and ear rings and also piercing suit or eyebrows and nose.

Wow, well, I’m seeing it all now and them all. I mean, I think we have become very pagan and very secular And I think God has really opposed to that. So if you haven’t done it yet, these are good words of preventive medicine, you might say, where God says, hey, don’t mess up the body that I created for you. Don’t print marks on it, and don’t make anybody cut-exited. And so that’s what I believe it’s really saying. And I think we should not do that.

We have now James in Clearwater, Florida, and James, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Air. Hi, yes, Dr. Hank. My question is, I’ve heard it talk a lot and I don’t know what you’re teaching on this is, but taking communion in an unworthy manner, does that apply to an unbeliever? The reason I’m asking is because Jesus didn’t seem to discourage Judas from taking communion when he first initiated it. Yes, he did. Judas was expelled from the room before he instituted the Lord of Supper.

Judas was not there. He was Christ with the remaining eleven. While they were having the Passover Supper, he identified Judas and he said, Now go and do what you’re going to do quickly. And he dismissed Judas and he left. And then with the remaining eleven, he instituted the Lord of Supper. So Judas was not there. Okay. Read John chapter 13 and you’ll see that Christ basically said, I want you out of here. So he identified him and said, go what you’re going to do quickly and leave.

And then with the remaining 11 you’ll see that he instituted more supper. Okay, I was under the impression that the communion took place. No. So Judas has gone. And so it really is a good indication and when you brought it up that only believers should be present. And sometimes that’s difficult. The way we do that, we have it once in a month at our church and we do it on a Sunday morning prior to the morning worship and generally the visitors who come that might be unsaved usually come to the service and when you have the word supper before that, generally speaking you don’t catch the visitors or the unsaved coming into the word supper.

So we try to do it that way so that we have the believers coming early and being there for the Lord’s Supper and then when the visitors come visiting during the worship service, they’re not really included. And we don’t have to embarrass them and say, you can’t take of this, but really it’s not for unbelievers. Okay. Thank you very much. All right. Thank you for calling. That was Jim in Clearwater. We have now David in St. Petersburg and David welcome to Bibleline you’re on there.

Yes, I was watching a show last night and two things in line with me. Really, really, the reason I’m calling is there was this priest that was talking to another priest on a talk show on the TV. I was just going through cable channels. And he gets talking about how deficient people are who don’t understand mother of God and don’t play ordinary and don’t understand her part of the. you know just on and on and on and then you get me back to another show is watching this is my main question another shows watch about questions and answers to Catholic leaders.

How come they did. They’re exciteral to stuff is well the Bible doesn’t say you can’t do it. And then I’m thinking well if the Bible doesn’t say a lot of things it covers everything basic the salvation and living but it doesn’t cover cell phones and all that and using it in an elevator you know it doesn’t cover a lot of things like that. How is that these people never subject themselves on the radio or call in our TV to any questions that they’re contrary to what’s already within their faith you know they never you take it right on the chin you take it right on the right on the chin you take anybody all calls all time when i was in the end of the fight i can’t believe what they’re saying first of all i’m out of catholic i understand that but i can understand there’s

never any critical thinking within their own seer ever i got i got a friend of mine at the catholic and i said i’ll for every minute i’ll listen to go to your cat with your godfather catholic somebody ahead of him all this is an hour for every minute you listen to anybody i have on my side anyone to it That’s my question. Hold on. Hold on a second here. We have to say goodbye to those folks down in Miami that are listening on 1080 on the Amdow and say, happy new year to you as we leave the Miami group a little bit early before other stations.

So happy new year. We’ll catch you again on Wednesday live. So I’m back to you and the reason why is the Roman Catholic Church doesn’t allow you to question what they do. There’s a group in Rome called the Magisterium and those are basically the infallible interpreters of the Bible. And of course even though what they say doesn’t match up with the Scriptures, they are the ones that pronounce the beliefs of the Church and the Church has to conform and every priest has to conform to that teaching.

So you basically are going to hit your head against the wall. You’re not going to make any progress because no one in the Catholic Church nor outside the Church has the authority to change the teachings only to magisterium in Rome and they’re not going anywhere. But they constantly are changing though, but usually again in the area of traditions and things that again many of which are contrary to the Bible. Did they just recently have a Vatican? He’s still a Catholic, but he’s more in line with the Vatican I and Vatican II dread and dramatically changed the whole bunch the way the Catholics leave.

I mean, a lot of things like a lot of states aren’t safety more. You know, all those people that which is their time frame. Chris St. Christopher and all of those other states that there’s no longer state getting more. And St. Nick, he’s just playing Nick now. They’ve been saying it him too. So their system is really flawed because biblical saints are those that are believers and you can’t become unsainted. Once you become a believer and you become made a saint as God makes people saints the moment they believe because they’re cleansed of their sin.

Well, it’s been fun being with you for this first half hour and we’re going to come back and do a second half hour. We’ve got to go to break here, so we want you to continue to listen. And by the way, if you haven’t helped Bibleline this year, 2007, it’s not too late to call us and give a gift by credit card or mail a gift to Bibleline. Give us a call and we’ll be back in just a minute to do a second half hour of Bibleline.

Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr. Anglin. This room is great to be with you on this last day of the year 2000. Happy New Year to all of our listeners and we appreciate you so much that listen in and we hope that you’ll continue to listen for the next half hour coming up in a few minutes and take advantage of the website where you can hear these programs 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

We just got an email here, I mentioned it earlier in the program from Singapore. And we had one last week also from the United Arab Emirates from the city of Dubai. So it’s amazing, we’re getting people all over the world that are listening and they’re writing to us and sounds like he’s an old friend here from Singapore. Dear Dr. Hank, I’ve discovered your website at Bible and I considered a blessing and writes much more than that. But that’s kind of the idea and we’re excited about how people in Europe and the Middle East and in Africa and Asia and Australia and South America, Central America and North America are catching Bibleline by way of the internet.

Tell your friends, would you? You might have friends overseas and maybe they don’t know about Bibleline. And if you have missionaries overseas, would you tell them they might find it refreshing to hear Bibleline back here in the States and the message that we bring. And by the way, they can ask questions too because if you go to our radio page on our website, there’s a place they’re all set up to go where you just type in your question and put your first name in city and hit submit and boom, we get it at the speed of light and we will be able to answer that off air question from anywhere in the world.

So tell your friends that they can really participate in real time with us here when we go live or listen anytime at their convenience. We sure want to wish you a happy new year. I hope you have a safe day tomorrow as we celebrate the brand new year. And we hope that you’ll continue to listen to the Bible and as we crank up a brand new year and we will obviously look forward to having you call and you listen and you be a partner with us.

By the way, we are listening to support it if you want to help us. It’s not too late to help us out here for the year 2000. And so if you want to call in, you can give a gift by credit card over the phone and you can also of course mail a gift into the Bible and of course our Resource Center is available. You can call and order anything that might be helpful to you and also of course order off of the online bookstore at our website BibleLineMinistries.org.

Well here we go. We’re going to do the second half hour of Bible and when you like to call Bible and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question you can just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771 It’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Right, we’re back from that break and this is Bible. And it’s great to be with you on this last day. The New Testament is now in the New Testament. It is not amazing. Here we are.

The whole year has just flown by. At least for me it has gone so quickly. We hope that you will join us for this coming year, 2008. Who knows? The Lord might come back this year. Wouldn’t that be something? And truly that is a possibility. I am not a date center but I know Christ is coming. We are also getting ready to go to Israel and it is not too late. It is just a little less than two months away now.

On February 25th of Monday we will depart and we will head to Israel. We will return on March 7th and we would love to have you go with us for the 12 full days in Israel and we are flying with the safest airline in the world, the L.L. the Israeli airline and we are going to fly directly from Newark, New Jersey nonstop to Tel Aviv. We will have a great time. If you have not been baptized yet, we will baptize you in the Jordan River.

We do that on every trip. This will be trip number 15 for me. We will have our Bibles open and we will be looking at the Scriptures every place we stop and we look at the historical places where these things happen. We will actually be walking on stones where Jesus walked 2,000 years ago and his disciples. No doubt about it. It is a life-changing experience and you will have a wonderful time. The group is not that large. We’re confining it to 30 people and so you’ll get to know each other and we’ll all have a great time of fellowship and just enjoying Israel and enjoying each other as well.

I think you’ll make some great new friends and it’ll be a super time. You’re welcome and I’d like to have you on board with me. So give me a call. We can get that brochure right out to you and or you can go to my website Bible I Administration www.norgy.com. If you click on Bibleline news on the home page, you’ll pull up the four page itinerary. You’ll pull up the two page itinerary and the four page brochure. Everything you need to know is right there and we hope that you will take a look at all that.

Anyway, we are excited about the new year and if you want to help us close out the year 2000, you could call and give a gift to data Bible and that would really help us out. We We could use your help to make sure that we don’t have any dangling bills from the year 2000. We’d like to get all that cleared up. Your gift would be greatly appreciated. We want to thank you in advance for your prayers and for your gifts toward Bibleline that enable us to do what we’re doing.

Thank God for all of you. We mean that sincerely. We’re going to go back to David that has been holding on the line here. We began a discussion with him a little bit earlier and he was talking about his Roman Catholic friends and how the programs on TV don’t allow really for a real examination of the doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church. David, welcome back to the program. And maybe David is not there, let me hit that. But again, and David are you there?

I don’t hear David. So we’re going to go ahead and go to another color. We’ll go now to Robert in Bradenton. Robert, welcome to the Bible, I’m John there. Father, have you got a blessing? Someone be baptized in the name of Jesus, but not have the Holy Spirit. And can you explain about Acts 8, 15 through Celicim, and I have to know you. Okay, well you can certainly be water baptized and not be saved. I was sprinkled as an infant my mother tells me and I wasn’t saved until I was 18 and once I got saved then I was baptized by immersion as a testimony of my salvation and I was cleansed of my sin by the blood of Jesus Christ and you’re saved when you trust Christ but water baptism is not necessary for your salvation but is a wonderful public testimony of your

being saved by the blood of Jesus, by being cleansed by the blood of Christ. I’m turning now to the book of Acts and we’ll take a look at the passage you had in mind and again we want to thank you Robert for calling in today. Happy New Year to all of our listeners. This chapter 8, beginning in verse 15, here it talks about the people. He was a writer at the Samaria that had apparently heard the preaching of Philip, but when Peter and John arrived, they discovered that these people, I believe, were not saved.

You’ll notice the key thing, I think, is in verse 12. It says, when they believed Philip, here it doesn’t say they believed or trusted in Christ, which is so typical of those who become saved. But what we have here is a Christ. contrast between a sorcerer, magician named Simon. Philip did more incredible miracles than Simon had done. Now they thought they had a new miracle worker in town and they believed Philip was a better miracle worker than Simon was.

I don’t think they ever got saved. When Peter and John arrive, they discovered apparently that these people did not have the Holy Spirit, and according to Romans 8 and 9, if you don’t have the Holy Spirit, you’re not saved. So it says here, they had not received the Holy Spirit, and we find that while apparently they laid hands on them, they received the Holy Spirit. And I don’t believe the laying on of the hands gave them the Holy Spirit, but I do believe that while Peter and John explained the gospel and as they embraced as we see many times in the Middle Eastern world that people do embrace and they laid hands on them, all these words here are such that I think 15, 16, 17 are all simultaneous and while they had laid their hands on them and prayed for them they understood apparently and trusted

Christ and received the Holy Spirit. And of course Simon the Sorcerer misunderstood what he saw and he thought that the gift of the Holy Spirit was given by laying on the Apostles hands. And he was mistaken. That is not what happened. And he offered the money so he could get the same gift to do that. And Peter said, by money perished with thee because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. So you couldn’t buy the Holy Spirit, you couldn’t buy salvation, and Simon got a totally wrong idea here.

But basically Philip preached and they received him as being a miracle worker, but didn’t really trust Christ and Savior. Peter and John, having the gift of discernment, saw that they did not have the Holy Spirit, and then I think completed the deal. I’ve had that happen many times in witnessing the people that claim they were saved, and All of a sudden I just connected a few dots for them and things clicked in their mind and they got saved, which is really wonderful.

Okay, I hope that helps and we’re now going to go to David. He apparently wasn’t there when I went to look for him last time, but apparently David is back. David, welcome to Bible Ed. Well, they knew mine. I was nine and our reporter was asking one of her St. Pete’s times if the reporter about the Hispanic population increasing in Florida and they were talking about how the Catholics are on hand trying to get them converted over their side in the Protestants and they narrowed it down to Pentecostal.

You know like you know, lose your salvation in Protestants, that’s what they are my experience and then it did dawn on me that though the catholic when they reach out they don’t do it on the radio because it only reached out to other catholics because they’d never take any questions that aren’t catholic oriented so they don’t think it from someone that doesn’t already believe they’re catholic except that like differences of like how often should say the rosary stuff like that i’ve ever ever heard a critical question the close ever got was Something that the person is not like a Catholic, it’s just that the response was, well, the Bible doesn’t say you can’t do this, you can’t do that.

And that’s where they get all the doctor like Mary is the mother of Jesus, so that means she’s the mother of God. My question is, well, how about Mary’s the mother of God? What’s Mary’s mother? No. something Jesus’ grandmother, I mean if you’re going to take that logic, if you want to call it logic, we’re great-great mother. I mean I should make Mary like a stepchild to Mary to Jesus’ grandmother. well what what is happening in the roman county churches they really uh…

untied their anchors to the bible and uh… they have uh… allowed that tradition to uh… In the Bible we have to watch out for that. In Matthew 15 verse 9 Jesus told the religious leaders of his time. You have made the word of God of none effect by your tradition. And so tradition oftentimes is wrong. The tradition oftentimes contradicts the Bible. And when you have a choice between tradition that contradicts the Bible and the Bible you have to do.

have to go with the Bible. The Bible claims that it is in God’s infallible Word and that we are to go to it. It says in 2 Timothy 3 16, all Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction. So if you don’t accept the Bible as being the inspired Word of God and the book that is able to correct us, then obviously you won’t get corrected and that’s exactly what has happened.

We sure do thank you David for calling in and people need to get back to the Bible. We have James now in Lakeland Florida and James welcome to Bibleline your own here. Good morning Dr. Hank, just continue familiar with the water tonight. Could you give me the origin of that or is there any origin? I don’t know what another there is but it’s just a I guess a way of closing out the old and bringing in the new. And certainly it’s an alternative for the people that are out there drinking and partying tonight.

And I’m sure there’ll be a lot of DUIs, a lot of people hurt in those environments. But sometimes for people that are believers and they don’t want to take their children out that way and they don’t want to be out on the road on such a dangerous night as New Year’s Eve. And so they, there’s mixed feelings about the whole thing. But I don’t think there’s anything in the Bible that talks about celebrating New Year’s Eve, but it’s become something that’s taking place, I think, especially in this country.

But apparently now around the world there’s a celebration when the New Year rolls around. The Jewish people celebrated in the fall on Rosh Hashanah. They celebrate there in the year then, and I think they’re in the year 5,700 and something I forget the exact year that they say that they’re living since Adam. So they celebrate it in the fall. We celebrate it here tonight. Happy New Year to you. Hope that helps a little bit, but there’s nothing in the Bible.

We now have Edgar in Spring Lake, North Carolina, and Edgar welcomed by one year. Hello, hello, this morning, Dr. Hank. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Okay, I have a question about astronaut. I called because I want to know when exactly was Paul saved? Was it on the road to Damascus? When you read in verse 17 when Ananias went in to pray for Saul, he called him brother. But the Bible says that Paul wasn’t filled with the Holy Spirit until after Ananias…

And a nice, brave. Paul, excuse me, Paul didn’t get saved until he got to Damascus. He was blinded for three days, and Ananias actually led him to Christ, and then his skills fell off his eyes and he could see again. But Paul got saved in Damascus on the street called straight. He was led to Christ by a man named Anandites. And the Bible is pretty clear about that. I used to hear in the church I was raised in where I heard a lot of things that were later destroyed incorrect that he got saved on the Damascus Road.

You hear a lot of preaching that way. But Paul, his attention was gotten by the Lord on the Damascus Road. He was led by the hand to Damascus, but it was in Damascus that he got saved. Thank you. If you’re for calling in, we now have Burt down in Miami, Florida. Burt, welcome to the Bible and you’re on the earth. How you doing, Pastor Hank? Good. Just a question for you. In your studies of Bible prophets and training your take on it, the War of God and May God.

Is that before the Rapture? Well first of all there are two battles by that name. The one in Ezekiel 38 is Armageddon seven years after the Rapture. The world engages in war. And Russia, which is identified in that chapter, will bring an attack against Israel, striking at Megiddo or what is called Armageddon. And then there’s another battle in Revelation chapter 20, verse 7 or 10 that talks about a battle called the Battle of Gog and Magog. That’s number two.

That one happens at the end of the millennium, and it’s where Satan is loosed for a little bit at the end of the thousand year end of Christ, and he rounds up a huge army of unsaved people that come against Jerusalem and Christ quickly devours them himself with no help from anybody else, and that’s a short-lived battle. But those are the two, both with the same name, and so because of that, there is sometimes and confusion is generated by the fact there are two battles with the name Gog and Magog.

The first one, Armageddon, seven years after the Rapture, Ezekiel 38 talks about it, and then the second one, at the end of the thousand year reign of Christ, a thousand and seven years after the Rapture, we have the second battle with that same name. Hope that helps. Yeah, that’s, so you’re, you’re coming into the battle on Ezekiel 38 and 39? Yes, absolutely. And you’ll notice there in verse 19 and 20, on Ezekiel 38, it says that the whole world and all the men that are upon the face of the earth shall shake at my presence.

Well, that’s when Jesus comes back at his presence, the whole earth will shake. And that’s the battle described there called Goggin, May Goggin. That’s the first battle with that name. And that is Armageddon. We are good and you are making new one, is that correct too, at the end of the 1000 year reign? Absolutely, after that war? Yes, and you will see that in Revelation chapter 21 where it says on the eye John saw a new heavens and a new earth whereas the first heavens and the first earth were passed away.

So a new heavens and new earth appear at the end of the millennium. Pastor Hank, it talks about, I’ve seen maps in the Old Testament, in Israel. Is there anywhere in the scripture where it describes? I know the Bethlehem where it speaks to him. Mike, here’s what’s born. But is there any… Is there anywhere else in scripture where it describes the other Bethlehem? I’m not sure that I’ve seen a reference to it in scripture, but no doubt about it.

There is clearly a Bethlehem up in Zebulon in northern Israel. But the Bible is very specific in Micah 5, too, that the Bethlehem that Christ would come out of would be the one next to Jerusalem. You know, Bethlehem is only four miles south of Jerusalem. It’s very, very, very close. And so it’s not some great distance from Jerusalem. The other one, of course, would be well over a hundred miles to the north in northern Israel. Hi, well, you and your staff have a blessed New Year.

And look forward to talking to you in 2008. Thank you, Bert, and it’s hard to believe that tomorrow will be the new year, and I hope all of our listeners will have a wonderful holiday. And by the way, we would really like to have you go on this trip to Israel, and it’s not too late to get you included. and talked to a fellow yesterday that wants to be baptized over there and he’s trying to make up his mind right now.

If you go, we’ll certainly be able to baptize you in the Jordan River and you’ll have a marvelous experience walking where the prophets have walked and where the Lord Jesus Christ walked and experience the things that he saw. He loved Galilee. And it’s no wonder. a beautiful place it is to go to the Sea of Galilee and we’ll get a chance to sample the fish that they catch in the Sea of Galilee. Same fish is 2,000 years ago. We’ll get a chance to see a fishing boat from the time of the disciples that they have recently uncovered that’s They are preserved so we can take a look at that.

We’ll actually take a… On the Sea of Galilee, in a boat that is made after that same design. It’s much larger than us. You can hold a whole turgor, but it’s the same shape as the fisherman’s boat that they oftentimes call Peter’s boat because Peter is so well known for being a fisherman that they call it his boat. But it’s certainly a real fishing boat from that time and you get an idea of what it was like and the size of it and so on.

Anyway, you’re welcome to call us 1-800-576-3777. If you want to go to the trip, you can just put it right off the internet. If you go to my website, Bible on Ministries, click on Bible on News on the home page. You will be able to do that. Alright, the number again to call 1-800-576-3771. We’re listening to support it. If you want to help us close out this year on a positive note, your gift would be appreciated. we hope that you will do that all right we’re gonna go now to uh…

an anonymous caller uh… i think this fella lice that remain anonymous for whatever reason and uh… uh… from the city florida that’s uh… quite a nice place there mister anonymous welcome to buy one how you know all right how you do it I want to ask you a question. The question was about the, you know, when you’re doing this Christian thing about Jesus and the mange or whatever. Maybe I’ll show them a reason they war king from churches actually have four king marching to see the baby and I can’t about the poor.

relate that to the Bible at all. Well, of course not. There were not kings that came, but the Bible says wise men plural, I envisioned myself at least a dozen or two dozen and with the whole entourage it would make a huge caravan like they would do in those days. There were probably hundreds of people that wrote into Jerusalem and it caused quite a stir. They got there two years late and so they were there when Jesus was a little boy, two years old.

You can read that in Matthew 20, rather, Chapter 2, where it says in verse 11, the wise man came into the house, not the stable, and Jesus was not a newborn by the growing developing child and the age was probably around two. Christ was walking, talking, and probably greeted the wise men at the door when they came in. Yeah, but I was thinking about, so King Harold was the only king that wanted to see these men. He wanted to kill it.

But I’m trying to figure out how they’re going to read up 14, Mark, and saying, well, we’re 14. And that song is non-scriptured. Well, of course. And that song says, we three kings. So, I don’t know about the fourth one, but there’s no kings at all that came. And again, it’s amazing how the Bible, you know, is very clear. And yet the story doesn’t come out very clear as people are not depending on the Bible, I think. So anyway, we thank you for calling again today Mr.

Anonymous from Deed City, Florida. Happy New Year to all of you. It’s been good to be able to be with you today. I know a lot of people are probably preparing for celebration tomorrow. And I hope it will be safe for you as a tragedy for you to get out on the highway with somebody and have them maybe be a little bit under the influence and hit your car. car. I pray for your safety and pray for mine and we pray that we’ll have a great new year here at Bible on headquarters and if you ever get a chance to come by and see us we’d like to have you do that.

We have another anonymous person from Tampa saying what is your thoughts on the solo scriptura college and I really don’t know much about them but you’re saying that they use the NIV Bible, then that tells me that they really don’t have a whole lot of respect for the Bible. Because the NIV Bible is probably one of the worst out there. It drops 44 verses in their entirety. And it’s very similar to the Jehovah’s Witness Bible. Even the name is similar.

New World Translation is the title of the Jehovah’s Witness Bible. And then new international version is the NIV title. It’s almost word for word identical. And the same flaws are in both. It’s almost like they got together and worked on their Bibles together. They, apparently, the editors, which I have quotes from, didn’t believe in Helen. They tried to do away with Helen and so on. It’s really a mess. We have James and Richmond Virginia, and James, welcome to Bibles.

You’re on there. Yeah, I have a question about Martin Luther and his opinion of the writing of James, the book of James. Yes, he, I don’t think he really ever understood James and so he thought it was teaching works. He called it an apostle of straw. But obviously he was a little bit late. James had already been an investment for fifteen hundred years when he does that. And James isn’t teaching works for salvation. If you read James 2 23, he teaches there that Abraham was saved by faith without works.

And he quotes Genesis 15-6, which says Abraham believed God, and it was counted in for righteousness. James is talking about after a person to say that they are to do works which will earn rewards. James, we have to run because the time is out, but again, pray for us in here. Bible and we’ll be praying for you. Have a wonderful new year. Again, you can call us today. We’ll be here and you can help Bible and if you’d like to buy a gift to Bible and buy credit card and have a new year, a wonderful new year and we’ll see you next year.
