I’m great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast. We look forward to being with you every day. I’m going to be Drew Feidey as we come to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church.
And that’s where I’m the pastor. We’re excited about being with you every day. I hope you’ll tune us in every day. Tell your friends about the program and also tell those that live in other countries and maybe missionaries, family members, people in the military because we’re on the internet right now and people around the world can hear from wherever they might be and it also is in the archives so they can listen whatever time of day wherever they might be.
That’s exciting and we hope that you’ll help us pass that word along. Plus let people know about the podcast station that you’re listening to this program on and say you got to tune this program in. Tonight we’ll be teaching first Peter the last two hours of teaching in this series we’re doing on first Peter This will be class 9 and 10 if you’re in the driving area You’re welcome to come out and sit in this my guest and I hope you will and then of course you can order the entire series on CD and on DVD and you might want to get that the last teaching we did was on the gospel of John We did nearly 20 hours of teaching in 18 class hours and you can get all those CDs.
You can also get it on DVD if you’d like the teaching on the Gospel of John. It was an incredible study, verse by verse, the entire Gospel of John. And we broke it into two halves, the first half, ten hours of teaching, the second half, ten hours of teaching. You can order those and you can get those to play on your CD player. or if you have a DVD player, you can order the DVD set and play that on your DVD player.
We’re excited about our resource center. We have some wonderful books in there. Things that become sound doctrine by Dwight Pentecost, a wonderful book of some of the fundamental doctrines that a Christian ought to know. Things that become sound doctrine by Dwight Pentecost, a great author, and also his book on Things to Come, which is incredible, an overview of the topic of eschatology, which is a study of future things, and that book is a classic. It is one of the best you could possibly get.
We have about eight titles. Time, Dr. Pentecost. We also have the Schofield Bibles. We have Bible experience, concordances, and numerous other studies. We’ve got a book called The Exodus Case. If you want something that will cause your goosebumps to rise up on your arms, this has actual photographs of the cherry wheels on the bottom of the red sea. I got to talk with the fellow that leads that expedition last March. I might give you a chance to get with him again and see him this year.
But we spent over an hour last year talking together about that whole experience as he didn’t do the diving. He said he was on the boat the whole time, but they watched with their cameras on the boat and he, of course, led the expedition to follow the path of the Exodus. This book called The Exodus Case is filled with pictures that will absolutely thrill you. And you’ll see the Cheerios wheels, the same spoke pattern as those in the Egyptian Museum of the Pharaoh and his army.
Really incredible evidence that the Bible is indeed the Word of God. You might want to get a book like that. And it will certainly start conversations I’ll tell you if you have that in your living room and people come over, point out a couple of these pictures and you’ll have a conversation going, I’ll tell you. And we have many books like this that are really good. If you know somebody who’s breathing, somebody’s about to lose someone. We have the book One Minute After You Die by Erwin Lutzer.
It is great and it will probably lead that person to Christ. We’ve seen so many people use it as an evangelistic tool. If someone knows that they’re going to lose a loved one, they’re really interested. And what would happen right after you die one minute after you die or unless it tells you what will happen. And what happens to believers what happens to unbelievers and the answers to Scripture. And many have been led to Christ by this book. We have it in a real small edition and we also have it in a little bit larger edition but that is a wonderful gift to somebody who’s just lost the loved one or somebody who’s anticipating losing a loved one.
You might want to get that book one minute after you die by or a mixer call our operators They’ll be glad to help you with whatever we might have in our bookstore We’re gonna go to Israel will come back and we’ll do second Peter in our Teachings and these will all be made available. We have about 40 now available on CD or DVD or both of Different teachings on the Bible that I have done over the years and you can order those off of our our online bookstore as well.
By the way, you’re welcome to come out this Sunday. It’ll be the third Sunday of the month. We’re gonna have a dinner, and we always have those wonderful meals right after the third Sunday dinner. We invite you to come and be with us for this third Sunday dinner. thank you again for tuning in today we’re going to go to the Bible for a few minutes then we’re going to uh… take our callers Jesus Christ laid his credibility on the line when he said, for as Jonah was three days and three nights in the fish’s belly, social as son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. That’s Matthew chapter 12 verse 40. Matthew chapter 12 verse 40. If therefore the story of Jonah is not true, then the story of Christ is not true.
If the story of Jonah is fiction, Then the story of Christ is fiction. I can tell you a lot about the theology of your pastor. If you ask him the question, is the story of Jonah true? And he says no, it’s a myth. I’ll tell you about the rest of his theology real quick. It’s a great litmus test. Ask somebody, what do you feel about the story of Jonah? If they dismiss it, then notice what Jesus says. As Jonah was, socialist on a man be, if Jonah was a myth and Christ is a myth, if Jonah is a fairy tale, then the story of Christ is a fairy tale.
If the story of Jonah is not true, then the story of Christ is not true. Give that test to somebody today. What do you feel about the story of Jonah? Is that true? Did it really happen? Well, guess what? Jesus said it did. And Jesus said that Jonah was a prophet of God. that Jonah, his story, was real. We believe in all scriptures inspired by God and without error, 2 Timothy 3, 16, and Jesus stated clearly that Jonah was a prophet of God in Matthew 12, 39, also in Luke 11, 29, also in 2 Kings 14, 25, it states that Jonah was a prophet.
Jesus said, oh fools in slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken. All that the prophets have spoken. Let me quote that again. It’s Luke 24 25. Jesus said, oh fools in slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken, Luke 24 25. We are to believe all that the prophets have spoken. The Bible is not isolated segments of things which are true and not true. All of the Bibles, the inspired word of God, and we are to trust every bit of it from cover to cover, and I even believe the cover.
The cover says, Holy Bible. We don’t have a book full of holes, but we have a holy Bible written by a holy God through men who are the prophets and the apostles who gave us our scriptures. Contrary to what many people have heard, Jonah was not swallowed by a whale. The Bible states, God the Word of the Spirit of Great Fish to swallow up Jonah, and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights Jonah 117.
Fish does not breathe there. It has no lungs, but takes oxygen from the water through its gills. A whale is not a fish, but a mammal. A whale has lungs and breathes air through its mouth or vents leading to its lungs. Somebody might say, well, what about 1940? Well, in the King James translation, the word whale is used, but the Greek word kitas means a large fish. Certainly could have prepared a minimum if you wanted to. All too often the picture we have is that of a whale and Jonah is sitting inside on a chair sitting at a table with a candle on top kind of, kind of, pulling his thumbs, waiting for the three days and three nights to be up so he could be released out of the belly of the whale.
Well that’s not true. I think people have been watching Pinocchio. That’s not what the Bible teaches. Well Jonah died also in that tissues belly. It’s amazing how many people think that Jonah lived in the Fish’s Valley, and therefore many well-meaning Christians seek high and low. And to end heaven and earth upside down, in search of a fish, there would prove that Jonah couldn’t have lived within that fish for three days and three nights. But the Bible says that Jonah went down into shield.
This was a place in the heart of the earth where Jesus went. When he died. In Jonah 2.2, Jonah also said, I went down. the bottoms of the mountains. The earth with her bars was about me forever. Yet hast thou brought up my life for corruption. O my Lord God, Jonah 2, 6. Jonah’s soul was actually in the heart of the earth three days and three nights. Exactly! As Christ was in the heart of the earth three days and three nights, that’s what he said in Matthew 12.40, the verse we began with.
The Bible teaches that there’s a hollow place in the center of the earth, Paul Sheol, in the Old Testament, that’s the Hebrew word, and Hades in the Testament that’s the Greek word, and there’s a place of comfort called paradise and a place of torment in Sheol or Hades that is separated by an impassable gulf according to Luke chapter 16. All of the dead, saved and lost, went to Sheol or Hades prior to Christ’s death-bearer resurrection. The saved were there waiting for the payment for sin to be made by Christ at the cross, the lost are still waiting there to be cast into the eternal lake of fire.
There’s nobody in hell as yet. When Jesus died, he went into Hades and O’Sheol to the Paradise sign. When the dying thief was crucified with Christ, I asked to be saved. Jesus said to him, barely, barely asking into thee, Today thou shalt be with me in paradise. Since Christ was going to be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights, we know that paradise was in the heart of the earth. When Jesus was resurrected, he emptied paradise out and he took the Old Testament believers into heaven itself.
Since Calvary, the believers now who die at death will now inter-directly into heaven because we no longer have to go through this waiting place called paradise that was in the heart of the earth. Jonah, pictured to death, the burial, the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Jonah both passage on a fish or ship rather to flee the presence of the Lord. But God’s in a great storm and it threatened the lives of all the one born. The attempts of the seaman to save them were futile.
When the seaman asked how to be saved from the storm, Jonah says, take me up and cast me into the sea, and the sea will be calmer than the sea. You see the picture is out of Christ. Jonah had to die for those on the ship to be saved. Jonah had to die. I’d rather Jesus had to die for those on the earth, for those to be saved that would trust in him. Jonah gave up his life. Jesus gave up his life.
Jonah was in tune and the fish’s belly. Jesus was in tune and the rich man’s tune. Jonah came back from the dead after three days and three nights, Jesus rose from the dead after three days and three nights. It’s a great story and it’s true and if you want to see somebody’s theology unmasked, give the litmus test. What do you think about the story of Jonah? Is it true? Is it a myth? Is it a fairytale? Or is it indeed true as Jesus links his own credibility to that story and says as Jonah was.
Social is on a van B. I’m Dr. Hank Linschren. This is Bible and we’re going to go to the Good to go to the phone lines here. You’re welcome to call us at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. And we invite you to the end of the video. and we invite you to give us a call. 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Hank Linschren. This is Bible We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida. From our studios right here at the Kelvin Community Church and by the way this Sunday is the third Sunday and we invite you to come out and join us for the worship service at 1030 and stay for the dinner afterward tonight is the last two classes class 9 and 10 in the series on first Peter you’ll find it exciting to be here in the presence of other studying with us and we’ll be finishing this up tonight it’ll be available on
CD and DVD if you want to get the entire set. Alright, we’re gonna go now to Rick in Lutz, Florida and Rick. Welcome to my blind. You are on the air Yes, Dr. Hank, how are you doing? Good. Okay, my question, I understand all that with Jonah and Jesus and, okay, when Jesus went in the center of the earth and Hades, okay, and he emptied it and took the Old Testament Saints to the church, haven’t cracked. That’s exactly right.
Okay, winded Christ because I can even, when did he take the blood to the mercy sheet to pay for the sin of the Old Testament say? Well, there were several, I think, Back in fourth to heaven and it’s right after he saw Mary Magdalene Mary Magdalene Mary Magdalene Mary Magdalene Mary Magdalene Mary Magdalene Mary Magdalene Mary Magdalene Mary Magdalene Mary Magdalene And I believe that is what happened after he’d seen her and then later he comes back and invites everybody to touch him.
But apparently if she had touched him at that point she might have contaminated the blood that he was going to take into spittle the mercy seat in heaven in answer to our sins. You’re very welcome and let me read that in John 20’s very fascinating passage. the phone number here by blinders 1-800-576-3771. Again we welcome Miami, a new radio station for us, although we were in the air, on the air down in Miami for several years. We have now gotten back on on WMCU-1080 on the AMDow.
Hope you’re telling your friends down there about the program and also we want to remind you all that we are listening, supported, and we leap that in faith to go on the air in Miami again. I’d like to go on the full hour, but we need the listeners in Miami to help finance that if you could pray for us, that would be wonderful if you could give a gift to Bible Item partner with us, we could pull that off and we certainly hope that you’ll help us in Miami.
Thank you all in Miami and we are really happy that we’re back on the air down there. By the way, I was born and raised in Miami and so I have a special heart for Miami and the air down there. The phone over here, 1-800-576-3771. Laurie in St. Petersburg calls in with his author a question. She says a family member believes in healings and miracles. I am convinced that they use healings and miracles to fool people. I feel like she is misled.
Can you help me show her? Well, you’re absolutely right. In fact, the Bible teaches that in the last days, last days which were in. It would not be true genuine preachers doing the signs and wonders, but it would be false teachers and false prophets. Let me read what Christ said Himself when asked the question to chapter 24, what will be the sign of that coming? He says in verse 24, for there shall arise false Christ and false preachers. And they shall show great signs and wonders.
Who’s going to be showing them? Well false preachers and false Christ will do them in so much of it were possible they’ll deceive the very elective. Even genuine believers will be fooled by this subtlety that Satan would use through false Christ and false prophets. I would be suspect of anybody that’s claiming to do miracles today. Why? Because Jesus said in the last days not that there would be a resurgence of miracles by genuine believers, but he says they will arise false Christ and false prophets or of preachers, and they shall show great signs and what in so much if it were possible they’ll deceive the very elect.
Verse 25 says, behold, I have told you beforehand. Jesus says, look, I’m giving you 2,000 years warning, but this is the way it will be at the end of the age. And here we are, and people are being fooled by it, they sure are. If you read the book of Revelation chapter 13, it talks about the false prophet who will be the partner of the antichrist during the tribulation period. And what does it say about him? Well, it’s very fascinating that it says in chapter 13 verse 13, 13, 13 is not an interesting number combination.
He doeth great miracles and wonders so that he bringeth fire to come down from heaven on the earth and the sight of men. And he deceives those that dwell on the earth by means of the miracles which he had power to do. Who has power to do miracles here? This is Satan’s man. This is the false prophet and he will have great power such that he can just bring fire down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.
He will deceive people. It says in verse 14 of Revelation 13 by means of the miracles which he has the power to do. So hope that helps you, Laurie, and definitely we’re living in the times. We have Wiley in Bradenton, Florida. He calls in with his offer a question. He says in Luke 13 for the tower fell on the earth. 18 in Salom and they were killed. Are there more references to this event or who the people were and their names?
The answer is no. Jesus just simply who quickly references a news event in order to tell us that the religious leaders thinking was wrong and they needed to change their thinking. It’s a great illustration of what Repentance says. He says, think he, think he, think he, that these were sinners above all men because the tower fell on them and killed them. That’s what their thinking was. He says, I tell you, you need to repent. Change your mind and realize that you’re also a sinner, just as in trouble as those who the tower fell on.
If you die without Christ, you’re going to be spending an eternity in the lake of fire in hell. We’re going to McDonald. He’s in St. Petersburg. And McDonald, welcome to Bynewin, you’re on the air. Yes, good morning. Well, good afternoon. I have a question about the year of the church. I actually heard it from a brother campy, champion on another program. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, he’s a doctor and he’s really kind of messed up. The church began at Pentecost and will end at the raffishram.
And of course I think Brother Campi says that church age is already over and that’s certainly not true. And the church age will not end until the ward catches his bride up in the air and we meet him in the air and then the church will become the bride or they become married to Christ then we’ll come back with him seven years later the second coming to rule and reign on this earth for them for a thousand years. So is that a negative part of what I’ll say your spiritual is called the All-Sick and in touch in a good Bible based church?
And then I heard that like that year it just sort of got me skeptical like maybe something is not fully sanctuished or so forth. Well you have to be careful what church you go to you should go to a doctorate sound church and you really have to do your homework. We have a sheet, an article that I’ve written called, Please That Matter. You can download it off the internet or call us and we’ll send it to you free. But it has about 25 doctrines that are basic essential to a New Testament believer that you can check out against the church you’re going to go to and see if they’re Dr.
Lissan. They should believe the Bibles of the Word of God inspired in Aaron and Foulwell. They should believe in the Trinity, the Triune God head. There is God, the eternal Father, God the eternal Son, God the eternal Holy Spirit. They should believe in Jesus who is God who took on flesh as being the only Savior, the only means of redemption that he died and was buried and rose again from the dead and his death and shed blood is the soul means of the redemption of mankind.
They should believe in the Holy Spirit, the deity of the Holy Spirit and so on. We list about 25 of those and you need to probably your reference. What’s the difference? It’s the one scripture tells being a backslator. And you know, the one scripture or scripture is that I can really get into, you know, saying because I don’t want to waste time this time to get into Christ. Well, the backslider is going to lose that reward. If you read the last part of Hebrew chapter 10, it talks about don’t minimize your importance of your let me just say word to Miami.
Miami, I know you’re going to go off the air here in a few seconds and you cut off early before the other stations that I’m on. And so thank you for listening today. God bless you. Pray for my blind and if you could be a part of our program by supporting us in Praying Force that would be wonderful. All right, we’re back to you now. That chapter is wonderful. It talks about that you need to be working for the Lord and serving the Lord.
And if you backsline, you’ll lose that on those rewards. And it says in verse 39 though, even if you backsline, we are not of them that backslide into hell or perdition, but of those that believe to the saving of the soul. You can never backslide into health, but you can get away from the Lord and lose out on the rewards and the blessings that will come in eternity for someone who lives for Christ will be blessed here and there as well.
Is it seven times as hard as you want to come out and you just lose it all? Now I believe it. Is it seven times as hard to get back to that? Well obviously you have some issues there from the war that have affected you but certainly you can come right back to us as Lord. Just call me back and get into his word. That’s what will give you the spiritual strength you need and get you on target. because as you know the word, he’ll direct your path through it.
And you need to be in the word for your spiritual food every day. I hope that helps. And we’ll go and keep listening. We’re on every day. Thank you, McDonald in St. Petersburg. And we’re on every day in the Tampa Bay area, including Saturday and Sunday. We played the best of on Saturday and Sunday. So if you are living in the Tampa Bay area, you can catch us every day. All of our phones are lighted up. We’ll have to get the most of those calls to get back from the break because we’re on break time here coming up.
Again pray for Bible line if you could support us it would be great we need your help you could give a gift by credit card over the phone or call to ask for an envelope to be sent with our address on it and mail that gift in or you can give on our online bookstore on the website Bibleline ministry is not ORG. Again we’re going to go to break we’ll be right back after the short break and do part two a second half hour Bibleline so stay tuned don’t change that now I’ll be right back in just a moment.
Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m not hearing from it. It’s great to be with you every day. We look forward to that Monday through Friday. And thank you for tuning in today. We want to welcome all of our listeners that listen up in Lansing, Michigan, Flint, and Michigan and North Adams, Massachusetts and Utican, Otto Albany, New York and Scranton, Pennsylvania and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and all across Tennessee and Nashville and Memphis and Chattanooga in Richmond, Virginia and all over Florida and Miami folks and those that live in Jacksonville, the land of Florida, down south of us in Sarasota and south.
We’re excited about being with all of our people that are listening and God bless each and every one of you. We sure thank God for the opportunity to be on the air and we thank you who give to make that possible because we have no other means of support. You are the ones who keep us on the air. God bless each and every one of you. And we thank God for you and we always look forward to meeting you.
We’ve had people coming in here from all over the country that come and visit us to say hi, they visit our resource center during the week and also they come by on a Sunday. But if you can’t, go to the internet and you can visit us there. You can visit our resource center by going to the online bookstore on our website. You can visit our Sunday morning worship service by clicking on the camera. If you do that at 11 o’clock Sunday morning, you’ll be connected to the live worship service.
And if you go there during the week, you’ll be connected to a year’s worth of sermons sitting there waiting for you to take a look at. We thank you for tuning in today and I hope you will call and ask for a resource sheet and order some of the materials we have that I think will help you. I’ve bought thousands of books over the years and most of them I think are kind of worth us. There are some that just stand out as being great books.
And so the books that are resource center books that I recommend, I save you a lot of money by not having you buy the other ones. If you go to your Christian bookstore nowadays, they become mostly gift shops with a lot of trinkets and pictures and t-shirts and all kinds of things. You can rings and bracelets and who knows. But as far as sound Bible teaching anymore, the bookstores have just pitched it out. Carry a lot of fiction today, not even the word of God which is said and the translations sometimes they carry are terrible and you need to be very careful what you buy we try to steer you straight so that you stay right with the word and if you’re listening today I hope you’ll take that advice.
I’m gonna go back now to join the stations that have been on break and do the second half hour Bible I know you’ll stay with me and keep that radio dial tuned right where it is we’re about ready to do the second half hour So keep you ready to right where it is and here we go. When you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question, you can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr.
Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break. It’s great to be with you. Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast and we appreciate each and every one of you who listen. We’re going to go to Robert, first of all, in Petersburg, Virginia and Robert, welcome to Bimaland. Good morning. Good morning. My question is, after Moses had served God all over those years, how did he not let him go over to the promised land? The answer is that Moses was disobedient instead of speaking to the rock, he smote the rock, and obviously God was very upset with him. You know, at the first God had Moses strike the rock, and it was a picture of Calvary and Christ being smitten for your sins and mine, and that was legitimate.
Jesus will never be crucified again. And for Jesus to be smitten a second time, Moses was really out of order. And those who try to crucify Christ all over again, if you try to become saved again, you’re doing exactly that and God is not real happy with you at all. And so that’s something that really is offensive to God to try to crucify Christ again. He died once to pay for the sins of the whole world. And because of that, Moses died early, although he was 120 years old, if you read Exodus 30 before, his eyesight was still great, he was still full of strength and life, and he got a lot of years ahead of him, but God took him home to heaven early, letting him see the Promised Land from the top of Mount Pishgoth stood there and looked over across the Jordan
Valley, the Jordan River to the Promised Land. And he got to see it from a distance, but he never got to enter in. It was because he committed that sin by trying to smite the rock a second time. I mean, in fact, he did that and God was upset because Christ will only die once. And I believe that’s the picture. Hope that helps, Robert. I got one more question. Yeah. The question was asked in Sunday School, a fellow was saying that what happens when a person is a Christian and he sends a Christ doesn’t like sin, what is the relationship while he’s sitting with God at that particular time.
Well, his relationship is the same. Once you become saved, you’re born again, you become a child of God, and you’re his son, whether you’re obedient or not. But your fellowship is broken. First John is a wonderful book about fellowship within the family of God. And John very clearly points out, if we say that we are in fellowship with the Lord and walk in darkness, we are liars. we’re telling people fibs, we’re maybe leading on that we’re really tight with a Wardwin in reality.
We’re not because if you’re sinning you’re not in fellowship but you’re still his child. And so John uses the word we throughout the whole book about how if we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. But the remedy for being rest assured to fellowship is to confess. If If we confess our sins, name to Him those things we know to be wrong. God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
God wipes the slate clean when you do that. The intention is that as you sin, A moment by moment throughout the day that you confess it to the Lord and get it right, and you can walk in continuous fellowship with Lord Robert. I hope that helps. All right. Thank you very much. You’re very welcome. And that was Robert in Peterburg, Virginia, Colleian. And we thank you for that call. We’re now going to go to John in Miami, Florida. And John, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air.
Yes. I just wanted to tell you first of all how excited I was to hear you on the radio. I remember you from many years ago, you were a role model for me as a student at Fortabuy. I just want to thank you for your many years of continuing and faithful to you. You’re very welcome and it just takes my mind back to those days which I enjoyed teaching down there very much for those times I was there. It was quite a wonderful experience to stand out in all of our lives.
I know. I had a question for you. I was asked by a lady in my Bible study regarding hell. She was taught by a Sunday school teacher that because God is omniscient and on the present that He is in hell. And I I had taught my class that the real horror of hell was not just the physical fire and the torment but the actual absence of God, the isolation and separation from God. The school teacher had cited descended to hell minded me up.
He sent it to hell. It was shield What we think of as hell is the lake of fire and that when shield and death are cast into the lake of fire, that’s the second death. And that’s where I believe God will be absent as punishment isolation for those people that have died unsafe. And I just wanted to get your views on that. Well, you’re absolutely right and and of course Jesus never went to hell he went into the heart of the earth in the paradise and he proclaimed bigger the victory to those little testament saints that were waiting for the payment for their sin to be made and then he opened up paradise and took it up to heaven where it’s now in the third heaven according to the Corinthians 12.
But you’re absolutely right. Nobody’s in hell yet. Satan and his angels are the ones that was created for Matthew 2541. They get to be first in then all the loss of mankind will be brought about of Hades are shield and cast in there. That will be after the thousand year reign of Christ is over. That’s according to Matthew, Revelation chapter 20. But then of course it tells us in Thessalonians 2 Thessalonians 1-9 that the punishment for those that are lost will be that they will be separated from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power forever and ever.
So it is an eternal separation and isolation. Yet at the same time God is everywhere and he is the ruler of hell as well as heaven. I remember as a little boy reading the cartoons and you always saw Satan and apparently is the ruler of hell. Not true, he’s the worst planet he’s in hell and God actually, Jesus actually is the one that cast them into hell and he’s the ruler of hell as well but obviously they’ll experience the absence of his fellowship and his presence and they’ll be isolated for all eternity.
You’re right. Well, thank you, Dr. Linsen. I appreciate it. And God bless you. My brother for your service. All right, John. Thank you for listening down there in Miami, Florida. And we’re now going to go to Brad and Clearwater, Florida. Brad, welcome to my Blimey on the air. Good morning, Pastor Linsen. Good morning. Yeah. I have a short question for you. I won’t take a few minutes of your time. Because of Islam, I was wondering if Ishmael was saved.
I’m not sure. But I don’t doubt that he was or could have been saved. I don’t know the verse off hand that would leave me to believe that. God offered salvation to everybody in this world, for God’s full of the world. And God told Hagar that there would be a great people that would come out of the loins of Ishmael. All the Arab peoples have come forth. But unfortunately, Satan has really deceived them by Mohammed and the false book.
The Quran which totally absolutely opposes the scriptures and the death-brown resurrection of Christ and the gospel message. So if they believe in Islam, they will not be saved. And that is a sad, sad story. And those who are trapped by that are destined for hell and let’s say somehow can be reached. It can be reached, but it’s really hard. Boy, the devil has a strong group on that religion, on the people trapped by it. Thank you, Brad. We’re now going to go to Carol, and she’s in Wilkesbury, Pennsylvania.
And Carol, welcome to Bible Minds. Great to be with you. Hi. I’m very happy to be listening to you. My name is Carol, and I just would like to have your opinion of Orthodox Christianity. I know you were talking about Mormonism and things that I was just curious to know what you feel about on the Orthodox Christianity. I’m not too sure what you mean, but Orthodox would mean that they would be right online with the Bible, but a lot of what people call Orthodoxy really isn’t Orthodoxy at all.
So if you are going by the book and the Bible is the authority and you teach and believe the things that are in God’s Word, you’re going to be right on. I guess it would be a good word to describe me, but yet the word is so misused. It doesn’t necessarily mean that they are Orthodox. You have to always judge what you’re seeing and what you’re hearing in the way of teaching and preaching by the word of God to see whether it really truly is Orthodox.
And so that’s the scary part. Just because somebody uses the word, for example, a person claims that they’re fundamental in their belief. I found that sometimes that means they’ve really gone off track because if they go by the word fundamental means you believe the fundamental teachings of the Bible and you’re staying right with the book. But I find that a lot of people who claim that they’re fundamental have also departed from the book and they’re not fundamental and some that claim that they’re Orthodox aren’t really Orthodox.
So you think you have to be a very careful student of the Bible and check out whatever you’re getting involved with. Is there a particular church that you’re going to this call themselves Orthodox? Yes. Yeah. I would get a doctoral statement from them. If they have something in print that would be helpful and then compare it each of those points carefully with the Bible. Then if you have any trouble send me a copy of it and I’ll look it over.
Okay. Thank you so much. You’re welcome Carol. Thank you for calling in. It gets to be really some guys very subtle nowadays because they are very careful sometimes. Some churches are to disguise what they really believe. We have Harold in Miami, Hollywood Florida and Harold welcome to Bibleline. I don’t know if I’ve talked to you this year or not. Happy New Year. And Shalom and a Happy, Healthy New Year to you, Dr. Christa. Right. Listen, the reason is I can’t, we can get you from 10 to 10, 30 in Florida, but if not in there, you know, I can’t get through.
In other words, I’m available from 30 to 11, because don’t leave home won’t let me out. I got you. Well, you can certainly call through, but we so far haven’t been able to get that second half of our open. And plus, we do need help from people in the Miami area to help us pay for that when we get that opportunity, which we hope will open up. well i hope all who’s listening right now we double our efforts by sending you a better track and on the air thank you uh…
all right i have i have a fast couple things i want to talk fast because maybe this is an in-depth kind of thing can you quote me i don’t you always court a passage i am the way it starts like that the life what is that that that passage is john fourteenth six jesus say that in the him, I am the way, the truth and the life, and no man cometh unto the Father but by me.” That’s a great verse, and obviously Christ makes it very clear that he’s the only way to heaven.
I am the way, the truth and the life, and no man cometh unto the Father but by me. John 14-6. Okay, now the word in there that’s most important that I hear is truth. I want to go to another passage, but is it to thine own self be true? Is that some kind of a passage like that? I don’t know the Bible verse that says that, but I’ve heard that second only. But certainly. The principle is talking to my Bible.
I’m sure in Proverbs that we really ought to be true. And I think in 1 John, he points out inconsistencies when we say one thing and we’re doing another. We’re not true to ourselves and that principle certainly taught a lot in 1 John. Okay, let me go back then to what I am the way the truth, right? Okay. Here’s the thing. There’s more Bible talk this week on every single station. So when I want to hear the truth, I call you.
And I’m wondering why the other night now I believe it’s Huckabee who is a minister. Yes. All right. Now he was on the fact that and I think it was Bill O’Reilly asked him this question. He said to the minister, he says, do you believe that Jews and Islam, if they don’t accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, that they burn in hell? The answer he gave, that’s what he told O’Reilly. So O’Reilly says, well I’m asking you, he says ask them.
My point is this, why are the people afraid of saying the truth? I mean you just told me the truth, but why isn’t a minister and others, they won’t say that. Can you tell me why they avoid saying something that Jesus said is the truth? It’s interesting, but of course obviously it is a killer as far as I think being elected to a political office if you make that statement and they just say, well he’s just condemning everybody to hell except his own faith.
But as a Christian we’re not. I didn’t write the Bible and I’m just quoting what it says and that’s what Jesus said. And obviously people can disagree with Christ, but of course one day I think don’t wake up and find out they made a big mistake because jesus according to the bible is god and uh… and obviously christ is the truth and and if uh… and he cannot like or to the pitus one to so uh… obviously uh… it i guess it doesn’t make people happy when they hear the truth and so if you say the truth you’re going to be in trouble but he was the i’m sure being uh…
clever to deflect the question so you have to really come out and be slammed for that but But absolutely Christ is the only Savior and those who do not believe on Him will go to hell. So what they’re doing is they’re really overriding Jesus’ statement that He is the truth. Yep, you’re right. If the truth is the truth, I don’t say it. You know, say it. Now the other man, as a Mitt Romney, or something like that, and he made the statement on a big speech that we are all God’s children.
Well that can’t be true in the way that if those who do not accept Jesus as their Lord in Savior, they go to hell. So why would he make it that statement? And you think it’s politics. I mean it’s politics. I think it’s accommodating what people want to hear and not offending anybody, making everybody feel part of the group. And that’s what politics is I guess all about. But certainly not in the Bible. We’re not all God’s children. In fact, Jesus said in John 8, if you’re not born again, if you’re not a child and God’s family by the new birth that you are children of the devil and that isn’t very popular to say but Jesus said to the people at that time you are children you are of your father the devil and the works of your father will you do and he was a murderer from the beginning
and he went on and on but that’s not real popular preaching today people don’t want to say those things but it’s there and Christ that if you’re not a believer you’re not of child of God, but you are a child of the devil and not popular to preach that. Well, didn’t I think it was not to say that Jesus brother was a devil and when he was speaking about Mormon, he made that statement. Well, you know, in Mormonism they teach that Satan and Jesus were brothers, absolutely, and that is true.
And he took a lot of heat for saying that, but that’s that Mormon theology that they they believe that there were 12 of Elohim the sons that came together in a meeting and Jesus and Satan were there together as brothers in that meeting. Yeah. Okay. So what we’re saying to sum this up is they’re avoiding the truth that you always preach. I know and I speak to you and I’m a condemned person because I’m Jewish and I reject Jesus but at least you’re telling me the truth and that’s why I support you.
The final question is this, what’s more important now the Constitution of the United States or the Bible and the Constitution as in their freedom from religion? Well, the Bible is saying really that in the Constitution that the government has no right to impose a religion upon us, and that’s not the same thing. But the Bible is more important than the Constitution. Obviously the Bible is the Word of God, and Peter made a great statement in Acts chapter 5 in verse 29.
He says, Should we obey men more than God? And the answer was obviously no. He said we should obey God first and then man second. Okay now, to be said that he wants to turn the conscious God makes He said he would do that. Change the Constitution more respecting the word of God and the what they wrote of the forefathers and so on. And the other question is to finalize this. I have never heard anybody say anything about the Yes.
Yes. Yes. No. No. No. Yes. You’re the only one that I understand says you name a Bible, but why are they afraid to say what Bible? I can’t get that saved from you. I’m free. No. I know it’s a crazy mixed up world, isn’t it? And by the way, on the Constitution, we have many of them that are trying to change the Constitution the other way become more secular and exclude all reference to God as we see they want to take God out of prayer and schools and the Pledge of Allegiance and everything else.
So it’s a mixed up world. Harold, we sure thank you for calling in today. I’ve got a bunch more calling and we’ll try to get a couple more in here. Thank you for taking my call and I will have something in the mail for you. Thank you, Sharpe. Thank you, Harold. Harold, a Jewish atheist, but this is the Bibleline and appreciates the fact that we shoot We now have Fred in Tampa, Florida and Fred, welcome to Bibleline You are on the air.
Hello, Dr. Hank. Hi, I had a question on your opinion on the appropriateness of Christians celebrating the Feast of Atonement and they have upped the effort of We have heard of Christian churches doing this and wondered in the covenant that we have. Well, the Bible says in Galatians that we should not get ourselves entangled in those Old Testament peace were part of the law and we bring ourselves into bondage and they were all pictures of what would be fulfilled in Christ and Christ obviously died as the atonement for our sin, the payment for our sin and so it’s been fulfilled and Galatians says in chapter 5 verse 1, stand fast therefore in the Liberty wherewith you have been set free and don’t be entangled again these other things in the observance of months and years and holidays and those things, I believe we can use them as a teaching tool to show what they
knew in the Old Testament and the prophecies were to be fulfilled in Christ, but certainly I don’t believe we’re to observe them anymore. The early Christians certainly didn’t. You can read your New Testament and you’ll find no reference to the early Christians, they were Jewish and background or Gentile and background observing those and Paul said those who started to do that he warned them that they were going back to the beggarly elements and not going forth with the truth of God’s word.
So I say answer is no. We now have Wayne in St. Petersburg, Wayne. Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hello, Wayne. How you doing? Good. You’re on the air. Yeah, I would add maybe a little help there for Harold. Thanks for calling in Harold. We’re all praying for you in a good way, I guess. We’re talking about the Constitution. I believe that because it’s freedom of religion, not from religion, and there’s a big difference. Amen. You really said it right.
Thank you. And on the other end, Mitt Romney is saying that the Mormons teach that they become gods when they die. that would fall in everybody’s God’s children. The The Thank you. We appreciate that. We now have Tom in plant city Tom welcome to Bibleline run here. Welcome sir. Thank you sir. Wayne just covered the point about the truth or not about the freedom of religion not from religion. He cleared that up. What I would have touched on briefly is is the concept of truth that Errol raised, a self-confessed Jewish atheist.
If he really will listen to the truth, then the truth will make him free. And when he’s made free with the truth, that his eyes of understanding will be open, and that he can really see what God has set forth in his word throughout. But the key thing is that he has to listen to the truth and the truth we know was embodied in the person of our Jesus Christ and preserved in the Word of God. and as you believe so to lie, the King James is the most action- and it’s really the one that God has used over these past and dying world.
Just like that, the truth, if he will read and live. Amen. Thank you so much, Tom. We’re about out of time here.
