We’re having a great time, a safe time, and it’s just been very quiet, very peaceful. We’ve had a great time and we’d love to have you go on the next trip. Today we drove to the Dead Sea. The Dead Sea is the lowest spot on the planet Earth, 1300 feet below sea level. This is part of a geologic fault that runs from northern Israel all the way down into Africa. And actually the Dead Sea is the lowest point in that geologic fault.
And the Dead Sea not only is 1,300 feet below sea level at the surface, but also it’s 1,200 feet deep. That is a big hole. And it’s interesting. By the way, Jericho is just very close to the northern edge of the Dead Sea. It’s around 1200 feet below sea level. And also on the northern tip of the Dead Sea is Kumran. And we visited Kumran, which is where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. The climate is very, very dry.
It’s a desert climate. Jericho is an oasis in that desert area. And usually when we think about a desert from our country, we think about flat land. But here, deserts are mountainous deserts. The desert that the children of Israel wandered through when they came out of Egypt was a mountainous desert. It wasn’t a flat sandy desert, but it was a mountainous desert. and we find that Christ is up. As soon as he was baptized by John the Baptist went up into the Judean wilderness or desert and there he was he fasted 40 days and 40 nights and was tempted of Satan and of course he did not sin and that began his earthly ministry.
Right next to Jericho, a little bit closer to the Dead Sea, is Kumaan. Kumaan is a place where a group of people that were religious lived and they believed in the coming of the Messiah. They believed that by their sufferings that perhaps it might cause the Messiah to come sooner because it’s not a very hospitable place to live, very hot, very dry, very difficult to raise any crops and water is very scarce. And so it was not an easy life that they had, but they believed in the scriptures and they made copies of them and most of their time was spent in little rooms called scriptorums where they would make copies of the scripture.
By the way, they practiced ritual baptism, which the Jewish people have many different kinds of baptisms. We’re talking about a full immersion where they would go down into the water. There are pools with steps leading down. They would go down into the water and be fully immersed and come out. They did that every time they would come to the word God in the Old Testament. because they were afraid of violating the commandment. Now shall not take the name of the word by God in vain.
And so every time they came to the name God they would ceremonially cleanse themselves by being completely immersed and then they would write the word God. And if it was coming up again they would do the same thing. They must have been in and out of the bath just constantly because the names of God occur thousands of times in the Old Testament. Well in any case, when the Romans came in 8070, destroyed Jerusalem and the temple, they began to then go around the surrounding countryside and they killed Jews that were left and there was a large slaughter of Jewish people but those that were not killed were sold on a slave market out to the nations of the world and the Jewish people have been dispersed for the past 2000 years.
The people at Qurun knew that the Romans were coming and so they decided that this, they may be killed, yes they might be able to flee but they wanted to hide their most precious treasure and that was the Bible. So they took the scrolls of scriptures and They hid them in jars, in caves nearby, and guess what? They have remained for 2,000 years. The climate, the dryness of it, has allowed them to remain all of these years. And so in 1947, and this is what is so interesting, because it was in 1947 that the United Nations voted to allow the state of Israel to be established, and it was early in 1948 that and Israel declared her a skate hood.
And we find that at the same time in 1947 the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Apparently they were found by a Bedouin Shepherd boy who was either bored or maybe looking for lost sheep or goat and he threw some stones into a cave and heard a familiar sound. Perhaps in the evening in the campsite they would throw some stones and maybe try to hit a clay jar and they knew that sound. In any case, when he threw the stones into this cave looking for a lost goat or a sheep or perhaps just because he was bored, he heard that familiar sound.
He got his father and other family members. They came with ropes and they were lowered down in and found the first jar in which the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Many jars were found after that, but this is an incredible time. What we have in the Dead Sea Scrolls is all the Old Testament books in Hebrew written about 200 years before Christ. That is incredible because prior to the Dead Sea Scrolls, the oldest existing manuscripts of the Bible were dated around 1200 years 80.
So, if you do your math from 1200 years AD, going back to 200 years BC is over 1400 years. That’s a long period of time. That’s the distance of time from Christ to Columbus. Columbus held the ocean blue in 1492. And can you imagine dropping back another 14 or 1500 years in history in finding accurate copies of the Scriptures available. Well, it’s a tremendous fight, and obviously has bolstered our faith in showing us that what we have is an accurate Bible, and learning about the Essenes, we learned that this group and others we know about down through time took copying the Scriptures very seriously.
If they made one mistake on a page, they would destroy it and start all over. So obviously, very tedious work and they couldn’t have one slip of the pen, could not make one mistake and obviously the Bible has been preserved to us very carefully. You know, Jesus, when he came, obviously made reference to the Old Testament and said that not one word would pass away till all of it would be literally fulfilled. Let me take you to Matthew 5 in verse 17 and Jesus said, think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets.
Now the law refers many times to the first five books of the Bible written by Moses. The prophets would refer to the rest of the Old Testament. And so Christ says, think not that I’m coming to destroy the law or the prophets really a phrase referring to the whole testament. I am not coming to destroy but to fulfill. And you’ll find that the New Testament is the fulfillment of the Old Testament Scriptures. That the Old Testament had predictions of the coming of the Messiah.
The New Testament tells about the fulfillment of how Christ answered each of those scriptures and fulfilling them when he came. Jesus went on to say in Matthew 5 verse 18, for verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, not one jot or one tittle shall pass from the law till all be fulfilled. Now what is a jot and what is a tittle? Well in the Hebrew alphabet there are 22 characters. In the English alphabet there are 26 characters.
And the smallest character in the Hebrew alphabet is called a jot. So Jesus is referring to that smallest letter. And then it talks here about one tittle. And a tittle is the smallest marking of a letter in the Hebrew alphabet. And so what Jesus is saying is not the smallest letter or the smallest marking of the smallest letter when it any wise passed from the Old Testament till all of it is fulfilled. So Jesus obviously believed in a literal Bible.
And you’ll find examples where Jesus quotes the Old Testament and will base an argument for the resurrection or some other doctrine based upon whether a noun is singular or plural, whether upon the tense in which it was written, and other points of grammar, Jesus made those distinctions. There’s lots of references where Christ will make a quote and take just a portion and build an argument based upon some pretty technical things. So it tells us obviously the Bible was intended to be read literally and Jesus Christ believed in a little Bible.
I’m Dr. Englinschruh and this is Bible I and we’re coming to you from Jerusalem and Israel and we’re having a great time and we went to Qumran today which is where the Dead these scrolls were found. The people that lived there 2,000 years ago, gone. We really don’t know what happened to them, but they were either killed by the Romans or they fled, but they hid the scrolls that they had made copies of and were transcribing and put them in jars, in caves all around that area and obviously that discovery of them didn’t take place till 2,000 years later.
What a coincidence. I don’t think it is, but what a coincidence that seems to be exactly in line with the rebirth of the state of Israel. Israel… He actually came to life as a new nation in 1948, but the United Nations allowed for that to happen in 1947. It was also in 1947 that the first scrolls were found exactly at the same time. What I think is so fascinating is that right now in downtown Jerusalem, we were there the other day to see the museum about the principles called the Shrine of the Book.
And there prominently displayed is the Isaiah Scroll. One of the many scrolls that were a part of the Dead Sea Scrolls side. And the Isaiah Scroll is really the Bible in miniature. The 66 chapters of Isaiah relate to the 66 chapters of the Bible. Isaiah divides into two parts, 39 chapters and then 27 chapters. the first thirty-nine chapters relate exactly to the content of the Old Testament, the first thirty-nine books of the Bible. The next twenty-seven books of the New Testament and from chapter forty till chapter sixty-six of the book of Isaiah, it matches up really amazingly with the twenty-seven books of the New Testament.
When you read chapter forty of Isaiah, it tells about the ministry of John the Baptist and they’re coming in on Messiah. That’s exactly how the New Testament Gospels open up. When you read the last book of the Bible, the book of Revelation, it talks about a new heavens and a new earth. When you read chapter 66 of the book of Isaiah, it talks about a new heavens and a new earth. It’s just amazing and we can spend a lot of time just on the book of Isaiah and how it really is the Bible in miniature.
But this is the book that an Israeli school child can read because it’s in the ancient Hebrew that has been revived. You Riyad, the prophet Zephaniah UKIP said when the Jewish people would return back to their land in the latter days they would speak the pure language of Hebrew. And that is in itself a miracle because Hebrew became a dead language just like Latin did. And really there’s no nation speaking Latin today. There are people who learn Latin, but Hebrew was dead the same way.
The Jews in Europe began to speak Yiddish, which was a slang language, but the real Hebrew was lost. But the founders of the state of Israel decided that they wanted to revive the ancient language, and that is the language that’s used in Israel today in the newspapers by the news commentators, by the judges and lawyers and people of the United States. And it’s the everyday language of the average Jew in Israel. And when a school child goes to the The Shrine of the Book Museum, he can read the Isaiah scroll.
It’s in the very language that he has been raised with. Amazing! And I believe it’s certainly God that worked in preparing the Jewish people for this new venture now with the Bible hand in hand with the rebirth of the state of Israel. And of course, we know the Bible is indeed the word of God. Again, this is the Bibleline. I’m Dr. Inghuntham. We’re in Jerusalem. And if you have any questions, you’re welcome to call us at 1-800-576-3771. Also, you might want to hear this program online and you can catch it by going to BibleLineMinistries.org and clicking on the spinning globe and get our radio programs any time of day or night, wherever you might be in the world.
We have had 155 countries log on to our website. And even I have looked up my website here in Israel. And sure enough, there we are. We can listen to the radio program and check it out ourselves. And we can go to the worship service and check that out and catch the questions that you submit. you can go and leave a question for it and hit submit and we’ll get it. Just go to that radio page and it’s all set up for you to leave a question.
Well in any case the Old Testament contains 39 books and every one of those books was written by a authentic spokesperson for God. That means prophets and Moses of course was the first of those and when Moses wrote his words were accepted immediately as being the Word of God. And so when he wrote each book, each book was accepted as a word of God. The Bibleline radio was written upon being written and so was true of all the rest of the Old Testament books.
So there was never a group that got together, no committee, no counsel, that ever got together and said that this book will say this book will go. That never happened. Every book that was written was written by a authentic spokesperson recognized by the people as being God’s prophet and the… and as soon as they wrote whatever they wrote, it was added to the collection of scripture, placed at a piece of furniture called the Ark of the Covenant, and that of course stayed in the holy of holies in the tabernacle and later in the temple.
And so Moses was instructed to build that piece of furniture that really would house the written word. The cabinet that it was held in called the Arch of the Covenant was made of wood which spoke of the humanity of Christ overlaid by gold which represented the deity of Christ. And so here we have the cabinet representing Jesus and inside the written word and the written word and the living word really match right on up. Jesus is the living word and the scriptures are the written word and you notice in John 1 1 it tells us in the beginning was the word and of course the word was made flesh.
Jesus Christ is the word and of course the written word also is obviously the expression of Jesus and so the scriptures were placed into this cabinet called the Ark of the Covenant and it was kept in the temple in the holy of holies. I’m Dr. Hank Vincent, this is Bible and we’re glad you’re listening and we have really had a wonderful trip. I wish you could be here. The weather today was spectacular. Just a beautiful clear sky, some wispy white clouds way up there.
Temperatures were just perfect. all of us wore short sleeves and it was just very comfortable all day long and we had a great time. And Coomron of course was a highlight. We actually stood very close to the first cave where scrolls were found. And these caves are fragile and obviously it’s dangerous for anybody to try to enter in because they can collapse and it could be dangerous for But yet they are still around and we were right there, we’re all through place.
And this was a great find to confirm, if nothing else, the accuracy of the transmission of the Word of God down to this present time. I hope that you believe your Bible because it’s not only a book that claims to be the Word of God, but demonstrates to be the word of God by its accuracy, by its longevity, by the fact that it tells the future before it happens. Nearly one-quarter of the Bible is history written before the history takes place.
And it’s just absolutely a book that is going to live forever. It’s going to outlast the planet. You know, Jesus said, Heaven or so pass away, but my words shall never pass away.” Well, we haven’t gotten any callers or questions, and maybe we can do that in the next half hour, but we’re glad to be able to be with you today. We’re coming to you from Jerusalem, and we have been kind of trying to share with you some of the things that we do each day.
And of course, today we went to Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found, the oldest Old Testament manuscripts in existence in the world today. Want to say to Miami, thank you for tuning in. I know you sign off before other areas, but we’re glad to be on the air down there. By the way, Miami, we need your help to be able to stay on the air and also to perhaps when the door opens to be on for the full hour.
So pray for us if you want to give a gift to the Bible, and you could call the 800 number and give it by credit card, or you can call in and get an envelope set with our dress and mail it in. We’re back now with our other stations that are still on the air with me and we’re glad to be with you as well. If you haven’t trusted Christ as your Savior, there’s one thing you must do. And that is to be saved, you must trust that Christ died and shed his blood if your sin was buried, rose again from the dead, and she was born.
And it’s alive forevermore. When you trust that Christ died for your sin and paid for it in its entirety by his death at the cross, God saves you and you become a child of God. And you receive eternal life at the moment you do that. I was 18 when I trusted Christ and I received eternal life that moment that I did. And since it’s eternal life I still have it and will forever and ever and ever and ever and ever.
And Christ promises that you have to be a part of it. He’ll never catch you out, John 637, then he would never lose anyone that has come to him, John 639. And so once you become saved, you’re stuck. You have to go to heaven whether you like it or not. That doesn’t mean you can live as you please because God will discipline you and you will be held accountable for the degree of reward you’ll receive in heaven based upon the deeds you’ve done here.
But eternal life is a free gift and we hope that everybody listening has received it. We’re going to commit on break here real short, shortly, and we’re going to do a second half hour of Bibleline, but we want to remind you to stay tuned and catch that second half hour. If you haven’t given to Bibleline this month, we can sure use your help. It’s expensive to be on the air and many people don’t have any idea how expensive that is.
We don’t have any other source of revenue except for our listeners. And so unless our listeners give, we cannot even be on the air. So if we ever go off the air, you can just press the shirt, because the listeners didn’t support the program. And we’re going to go to break right now, so don’t go away. And we’ll be right back in the next one. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771.
That’s 1-800-576-3771. Alright, I’m Dr. Englund Sherman. We’re having a lot of fun bringing the program to you. We are in Jerusalem. Isn’t that amazing? We could be halfway around the world and bring the broadcast to you. And we’re having fun. It’s been a wonderful trip. A safe trip, beautiful hotels, wonderful meals, great weather, and never any indication that we were ever threatened or in danger in any moment. Our bus is a wonderful motor coach air condition with big windows.
You can see everything right from your seat and it’s great. And so we invite you to go on the next trip. You can call us and we’ll be glad to give you the information and you can give us your input on maybe what time of year that would be best for you and maybe you have a suggestion about what other country we might add as we’re thinking about going to another country in addition to Israel. That might be Egypt, it might be Petra in southern Jordan, it might be Greece, but let us know what you think.
By the way, our Resource Center is available to you. You can call us for a resource sheet to be sent to you, or you can go to our website and visit our Resource Center. We’re going to be back in Tampa this weekend, and I’ll be in the pulpit. And if you want to come by if you’re in driving distance, we’ll be talking about the trip, and it’ll be a lot of fun, I think. So I hope you’ll come. Also, if you live in another city and you can’t come to the worship service, guess what?
the Internet, we webcast it and you’ll be able to see it wherever you might live, whether it be in the United States or one of the 155 countries that have already found Bible line around the world. So we hope that you’ll be tuning in, if not live, you can catch it in archive and it should sit there a year because we have a year where the sermons are, we usually drop one off every time we add a new one and so we keep it at one year.
The radio programs we keep it two years. So there’s two years of radio programs and one year of sermons all sitting there. All you have to do is go to the website BibleLineMinistries.org. Again you can help Bible and by praying for us and also sending a gift and some decide that they’ll give a dollar a day. But if every listener did that I’d be on all around the world. But again, it’s the few that really keep us on the air and God bless every one of you who do give and do pray.
We’re about ready to rejoin the stations at a bottom break and do the second half hour by one. So keep your radio tuned right where it is and we’ll be right back for part two. When you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question, you can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break and we’re in the second half hour now and we’re coming to you From Jerusalem from our hotel.
This is Bible item Dr. England And we’re glad to be with you and we’re trying to kind of keep you updated with what we are seeing and doing here in Israel and in the first half hour we talked about Coomran the place where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found right there next to the density, the lowest spot on the face of the Earth. 1,300 feet below sea level. Quite an amazing thing. And it’s the saltiest body of water on the face of the Earth.
And most of all of our group were brave enough to walk right into the Dead Sea today and float. You heard me float. Float. It’s a salty spotty water on the face of the earth and you can’t possibly drown. Everybody that got in some put rocks on their stomachs for chess and I’m talking about heavy rocks and they still stayed up on top. Some were just bobbing around like corks and others took a piece of this paper and laid on their back to read it or but the wind touched it a little bit and did a little bit of body sailing.
It was a lot of fun. And you know what was surprising to me the first time I visited Israel and visited Dead Sea is the water is clear. You can see the rocks, if there are any rocks on the bottom, we were in a very sandy area. And there was a few rocks here that you can see out there. And you can see them very clearly. Of course, I was teasing with those who had not yet entered the water yet, that there were little crabs running around the bottom and that there were sharks and everything else.
Of course, there’s nothing living in the Dead Sea. That’s why it’s called the Dead Sea. The only living things were our group, bobbing around and squealing and laughing and having a great old time and experiencing the Dead Sea. thing for sure is that it will sting you if you get it in your eyes and you don’t want to do that. So we don’t splash each other and you don’t want to really swim because you might get it in but you can be on your back and bob around or whatever.
Also, if you have any cuts it’s very healing and if you, for example, I got it on my face and where I shaved this morning just stunned like crazy for a while but it’s very, very good for your skin and very healing. And people come from all over the world to stay at the NC. In fact, their insurances pay for it because although there’s no cure for things like psoriasis, people get great relief and they come for a week or so and go back and find themselves greatly relieved and then come back to following year.
So there are quite a number of hotels. I was surprised at how many now have been built and we stayed or enjoyed a wonderful hotel right there on the edge of the sea and they had a big freshwater pool. They also had the seawater also, the Dead Sea Water in the hotel for you to use in their spa and they had showers and locker rooms and you just walked up the back door and a few feet, you were right at the edge of the sea, and there was all kinds of lounges you could lay on and tan or get in the water as we did and so on.
So we had a great time and it was a lot of fun. So the Dead Sea is quite an adventure. It’s about 40 miles plus long, so that’s a decent size. And when you look across, you have the mountains of the country of Jordan in your eyesight, the mountains of Moab. And so the state of Israel and the country of Jordan shared an idsee. The boundary between the two countries is right down the middle, north and south. He is the president of the United States of Jordan in Israel as the Dead Sea right down the middle is the dividing line between the two countries.
So as we looked across we can see the mountains of Jordan and of course Jordan is a country which will be exempted from the Antichrist control. The Antichrist will take over all of the Middle East and we believe that we’re on the very edge of that happening as the Western countries in a coalition, the United States leading the way, have planted their feet in Afghanistan, have planted their feet in Iraq, and the Bible says that they’ll wind up taking all of which was ancient Assyria, and that means Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Israel and Egypt and the Bible says that even these shall escape out of his hand The land of Moab and Edom and Amman now Amman is the capital of Jordan and That location described in Daniel 11 is exactly the whole country of Jordan today and that’s the land of Amman and
Moab and and Edom. We were looking straight across at Moab today. Edom is further to the south and that’s where the Rock City of Petrias and we believe when the Antichrist takes over Israel, when he takes over the core countries of the Middle East and all the oil, as oil keeps rising in price and obviously the West is certainly being hurt economically by that and they’ll just wind up taking it over. And that’s what’s going to happen according to the Bible.
But the country of Jordan apparently right in the heart of that ancient Assyria will remain politically neutral throughout the entire seven-year tribulation period after the Rapture. And that’s why the Jewish people can flee from the Antichrist and go to the country Jordan and be safe in that city where God will provide manna and water again and they just have to cross the border. What is so interesting is if you read Matthew 24, it gives a warning to those that are in Israel and in Jerusalem to flee.
It says, head to the mountains. Well, if you head east, you head to the mountains of Jordan and if you head west, you head to Mediterranean Sea. And so they’re to head to the mountains or to Jordan and we believe the Rock City of Petri is waiting there for them. And what has happened recently is an interesting phenomenon is that the Dead Sea is evaporating and but some of the southern part is all exposed. And we were looking today and pointing out there’s a like a sandbar that runs right across the Dead Sea diagonally.
And if you run a line from Jerusalem to Petra, this is like a shortcut. They can run to the mountains and come right down across the sandbar across the Dead Sea, and not lose any time at all. Get into the country of Jordan where they’ll be safe, because it’s politically neutral, and go to the Rock City of Petra where God will hide them and feed them for the last three and a half years of the tribulation period. Christ, after he comes back and defeats the nations of his world, will personally come back and escort the Jews out of their back to the Promised Land.
It’s exciting, but the Bible of course gives us a lot of passages about this and we’re able to see it visually. I have a satellite map, or a recent one, and that’s where I really first discovered it. It’s just like a straight line from Jerusalem to Petra across the Dead Sea. And of course we got a good look at it today from the top of Masada. And you can see it on the ground level too, but it’s just a flat, nice, solid sandbar for people to run across escaping from the Antichrist.
I’m not going to go into a minister of the Bible, I know we’re in Israel, we’re at our hotel in Jerusalem, and we invite you to call us 1-800-576-3771, and we’re unable to take the live calls on the air because we don’t have all of the resources to have all these phone lines set up to receive those calls here. But we can receive your message if you’ll call. It can be sent to us quickly and we can get your question and answer it on the air So we hope that you’ll take advantage of the 800 number 1-800-576-3771 Plus you can still order from our resource center and our staff is there and maybe there’s other things they can help you with and We hope that you’ll call in and let us know if you want to get on the next trip At the moment, the voice of the
Bible today came. You’ll be helping us in making our plans for the next time we get to go here to Israel. But definitely we’re living in the latter days and we can see that as the nations of the world seemingly are turning against the state of Israel. I’m not hearing concerns, this is Bibleline and we want to hear from you, so give us a call at 1-800-8 This Sunday, the second Sunday of the month of March will be back in Tampa where Bible and his headquarters at the Calvary Community Church where I pastor and will be in the pulpit and will be talking about the trip.
We invite you to come. If you’re in driving distance, if not, you can join us on the internet. You can catch our worship service as we webcast that around the world. If you go there at 11 o’clock in the morning, click on the camera. You’ll find that the Live Worship service will come up. You’ll be able to watch and listen to that service from wherever you are in the world. If it’s not convenient because you are in your own church, which is great, then you can do it at your convenience.
It’ll be there probably for the next year. And you can catch our commentaries here on Bibleline throughout this past two weeks. And you can also catch the things that we’ll be talking about this Sunday from the pulpit and we hope that you’ll drop by if you’re in driving distance. We’d love to see you and share with you the excitement of the trip. In any case, we want you to go next time. So give us a call and again, if you need any thing, if you don’t have that Scoville Bible, I believe you’re really losing out.
Now a lot of people don’t realize how many of the newer translations are very flawed. They change words and it changes meanings drastically. For example, 2 Corinthians 521, a favorite verse of mine, says that God made Christ to be sin for us, Christ to no no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God and Him. Let me quote it one more time. made Christ to be sinned for us, Christ who was sinless, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God and Him.
One of the newer translations called the Good News Bible. I personally call it the Bad News Bible. It’s a one man translation and that’s generally a sign that you ought to be careful because no one man I think can really get together on giving you the meaning of the whole Bible. So in any case, in 2nd Corinthians 5, 21, in the Good News Bible, it says Christ was without sin. They got that part right, praise the Lord. But then they say, was made to share our sin in order that we might share His righteousness.
What does that do? It really implies that Jesus paid for part and we pay for part. That’s not what the Bible teaches. Christ paid for all of our sins, 100%. And by the way, if you paid for even just one sin, let’s say Christ paid for 99 and 99% of your sin, only 0.1% or even less than that we’re left. If you paid for any sin, the Bible says the wages of sin singular is death. So you’d have to go to hell if If you paid for any part of it, I love that hymn.
Jesus paid it all. Sin has left the Crimson Stain, but he washed it as white as snow. Jesus paid it all. All to Him I owe. Sin has left the Crimson Stain, but he washed it as white as snow. Some people have to sing it because if theology is messed up or if they follow the Good News Bible, they’d have to sing. Jesus paid only part. I’ll pay part myself. Think about it. That’s not what the Bible teaches and I think common sense would tell you that.
Jesus paid for every sin you’d ever commit past, present and teacher and these are some of the problems. The NIV, the new international version, is probably the worst one out there. People, it’s probably the most popular but it’s the worst. It drops 44 verses in their entirety. We baptized 12 people on this trip in the Jordan River, and the verse that really explains what you must do in order to qualify for water baptism is in Acts 837. Acts 837 is not anything in IV.
He’ll read verse 36 to read verse 38 but verse 37 is gone and 43 universes a total of 40 if you call in right now We’ll send you the NIV quiz if you get somebody who has an NIV to take this quiz using their NIV Bible They’ll get a zero because the verses that the quiz are on are the 44 verses that are dropped or missing and they can’t possibly score any points And that’s a shocker. We’ve seen a lot of people say I’m getting rid of my NIV because it’s missing Key verses throughout the Bible.
That’s sad and guess what? The Jehovah’s Witness Bible drops the same 44 verses Did they kind of get together behind secret doors or closed doors and and And work this thing out together that seems like a mighty strange coincidence that the same 44 verses are missing. Plus thousands of other missions, 44 verses in your entirety. But would you want a Bible that’s missing verses and missing parts of verses throughout? Then get rid of your NIV. It’s sad that it’s hard for people to accept that the Bibles can be just absolutely mutilated.
And that Satan, Satan, hates the Word of God. the written word and the living Savior the living Word of God and so Satan is attacking today the Word of God and Christianity period is under attack today. You can see how God has been taken from our schools from our courthouses and from our public life and The Word of God is under attack and as Christians were under attack and so this is the time that we need to I pray for one another and pray that we can get this word out as much as we can to let people know the truth and the truth of course is in God’s Word.
So if you want that NIV quiz, call the 800 number 1-800-576-3771 and we’ll send it right out to you for your charge. We also have a wonderful book called New Age Bible Versions. It’s about 800 pages that goes over the errors and problems and changes that have been made to about 20 of the most modern translations that are out there. And that is quite a revelation and quite a Bible study because it will just alert you to the different doctrines of the Bible.
It begins with the Godhead and the deed of Christ and heaven and hell and other doctrines and shows how these newer translations are salting them all. Many of them are trying to do away with help. Many of the churches who have newer hymnals have the songs about the blood of Christ gone and the blood is being removed from the scriptures as well as the blood is being removed from the hymnals. And so many churches don’t sing about the blood anymore.
Yet the Bible is a book of the blood. From Genesis to Revelation you’ll find that it talks about the blood. Revelation is one of the key books as it concludes. It begins in chapter 1 verse 5 saying unto him that loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood. In Revelation 5 verse 7 it tells that when we’re in heaven we’ll sing about how we were redeemed by the blood of the Lamb forever and ever and ever and ever.
Can you imagine singing a song that you never get tired of? And that is about how we are redeemed by the blood. When you are in heaven for a million years and your friend says, what do you think we will sing next year? Or for the next million years? Guess what? Born on the Bible, it will be that we were redeemed by the blood of Jesus, the blood of the Lamb. And then at the end two million years, you might ask, what do you think we’ll sing for the next million years?
Guess what? It’s the same theme that you’ll sing forever and ever and ever and ever and ever. The devil doesn’t want you to sing it now. He doesn’t want you to talk about the blood of Jesus Christ. So I think we ought to maybe try to sing more often about the blood just to make Satan mad because I think angers him and obviously he’s trying to get us to not talk about the things that really count in the Bible.
I’m Dr. Ankerman, this is the Bible and we’re here in Jerusalem. We’ll be home this weekend and we certainly want you to come by if you’re in the area or catch our worship service online either live at 11 o’clock Sunday morning, Easter Standard Time, or to catch it archive. It’ll be there for the next year, but we hope you die. We’ll be reporting on our trip to Israel when we get back this Sunday. If you have a question you can call us at 1-800-576-3771.
If you live in the Tampa Bay area, we’re on seven days a week. We’re on at 10 o’clock every morning, each and a standard time. Monday through Monday or Tuesday through Tuesday or Wednesday through Wednesday. We’re on Saturday and Sunday and as well as Monday through Friday. Friday. Of course on Saturday and Sunday we play the best out, but you’ll be able to catch us seven days a week. But if you have the internet, you can catch us not only seven days a week, but at any time of day or night, and any week of the month or any month of the year from wherever you might be from, wherever you might live on this planet.
We’re worldwide on the worldwide web of the internet. So check all that out at BibleLineMinistries.org, the BibleLineMinistries.org. Today we also along the edge of the Dead Sea came to N. Getty. And Getty is like an oasis along the way. The desert region as we talked about along the Dead Sea. But today through modern irrigation methods, the Israelis have began to make the desert and we saw so much agriculture taking place. Gate palm farms and other forms of growing all different kinds of crops right on the edge of the Dead Sea.
But in Geddes, the natural place where there’s water and we saw beautiful animals with these big long horns called Ibis. They were beautiful just hopping around on the rock. David, King David, was it? And Geddy, it’s mentioned several times in the Old Testament, where King Saul was hunting him down. And this is a place where he could hide. And we read in 1 Samuel 23 and 24 about how David and his men hid in a cave. And there Saul came in and fell asleep and David went over and cut off part of his, the spirit of his robe.
And later, till Saul, I could have killed you. The Lord delivered you into my hand, but I didn’t take it upon myself to take your life. And it’s a great story of David and his concern to do the right thing before God. and eventually gone to care of Saul. We know that Saul was killed in the battle with the Philistines, and we know that Saul being sorely wounded committed suicide. Philip on his sword and died. His three sons were killed, and they were all beheaded, and Saul was beheaded.
hung his body on the wall in Betchine, which is a city we also visited on this trip. And they cremated the bodies of his boys and an interesting story at the end of 1 Samuel. And the Bible tells that Saul went to be with the Prophet Samuel, which means he was saved. So even though some believe he could lose his salvation, which is certainly not true, that Saul had lost his salvation. That’s not true, because Paul, rather Saul, went to be with Samuel the prophet as Samuel told him he would, and obviously that means he was saying, plus its resuns were saved.
So Saul’s in heaven we’ll see him there one day, but he obviously did some things that caused God to be angry and God took his life. He lost in the battle with the Philistines and that was the end of his career. He died in battle against the Philistines. In the case, we are coming to the conclusion of this program. We’re out of time. And again, I wish you were on the trip because it would take us eight or 10 hours every day on the air to tell you what we’re doing every minute here.
And you’re obviously just getting a brief summary of some of the things that we’re doing. And I hope you find it interesting. Our group is having a wonderful time. And we have to get off the air because the clock says we don’t have any more time. But I hope that everybody listening is trusted Jesus as their Savior. There’s only one way to be saved. And that’s by faith in Christ apart from any human works that you might think are necessary.
And it’s amazing how many people are blinded and think of after work or way to heaven. I was one of those, though I heard the wonderful news that Jesus Christ paid it all. And if I was simply trusting, He would save me. But then, certainly we ought to choose the live for Him and bring this message to as many as we can while we’re here on this Earth. Also, we want you to remember that we are less than supported, it’s expensive to be on the radio, and we just trust God every week.
We don’t have any other means. We don’t have any, but he’s supporting us or underwriting us that it just makes it happen. We count on the individual listeners who give their gift to keep us on the air. Maybe you’d like to help us and be a partner with us and we want to thank you in advance if you do. So you can call and give a gift by credit card over the phone or you can call for an envelope to be sent to you with our address and we’ll mail that out to you so you can mail your gift back to us.
You can also give a gift on the online bookstore on our website, www. I will find ministries.org and that’s the secure site where you can give as well. We are going to be back with you on Monday, but also if you’re in Tampa, in the Tampa Bay area you can catch us in the pulpit on Sunday or on the internet from anywhere in the world on our Sunday morning worship. We’ve got to run. We’ll be back on Monday Live, but we hope that you’ll be tuning in on the Internet as often as you can.
And keep looking up because we’re out of time and we hope that the Lord comes soon and maybe he’ll come before you gives us the broadcast again. And have a great weekend. Oh, Christ, I’m so glad. Let us know what other country you might want to visit in addition to Israel as we’re thinking about adding another country, maybe Jordan and the Rock City of Petra that we mentioned today or Egypt. We can go to the Pyramids and maybe Mount Sinai.
a thrilling experience I’ve climbed Sinai twice now. It’s 8,000 feet above sea level. And you climb at night so you can watch the sun come up in the morning. And I’ll tell you, since it’s hundreds of miles from any light source, I’ve never seen so many stars in my entire life. It’s just absolutely worth it just to see the sky light up like you’ve never seen it. It’s just like somebody threw a bucket of milk up in the sky when you look at the Milky Way, it’s just solid white.
Amazing. And I get goosebumps on my arm when I think about the whole experience. Anyway, you let us know. Maybe we’ll go to Greece. We want to hear from you, get your input, and you’ll certainly help us make the decision as what we’ll do for the next trip. Love to have you on board, and we’ve had a great time. And thank you for your prayers. Thank you for your gifts to Bible and thank you for your concerns. Who has been influenced?
