We now have 156 countries that have logged on.
The latest one is Bhutan, B-H-U-T-A-N. And we’re excited about countries all around the world on six continents that are finding Bible Mind, the only continent where we’re not getting any reception or interest is Antarctica. And I’m not too sure how many people live there. It’s kind of a cold place. But we’re excited about what God is doing. And guess what? If you have missionaries or family in other parts of the world, maybe in the military, they can catch Bible on wherever they might be on the internet.
Isn’t that exciting? Would you pass that word along? And we do know we have missionaries in other countries that are watching and listening. And that’s exciting. If you want to visit our Resource Center, it’s open every day. till about 4.30 Eastern time, combine, knock on the door. But if not, again, you can go to the internet and catch our resource center. And we’re excited about that as well. We just got back from Israel a couple of weeks ago, and we had a wonderful trip. Wow, the weather was great, the food was great, the hotels were great, the meals were great. Just everything was great. It was wonderful. We want to go again. We have a lot of people who are interested and maybe you’d like to go with us. If you want to go, give us a call. Give us your name and we’ll keep you informed so that we can send you information and let you know about our plans.
But we are thinking about going again and we’d love to have you along on that trip. It was a wonderful experience. Everybody came home changed, different. No doubt about it when you walk and experience the places where Jesus walked and the apostles walked and the prophets walked. It’s no doubt that in incredible experiences the Bible comes alive. In a way you’ll never imagine when you get home you’ll visualize the passages and the places and of course the land of Israel in your head.
We hope you’ll give us a call. We’d love to have you go with us on our next trip. We’re going to talk about the Bible for a little bit and then we’re going to get into taking our callers and you can call in if you like it 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Give us a call and we’ll be glad to take your question and try to answer that. And in the meantime, we’ll talk about the scriptures for a few minutes. I am constantly hearing people that are confronted with those who teach water baptism as essential for salvation and certainly that is not true and they scare you into thinking that maybe you’re not saved.
I’ll never forget a number of years ago I had a call from a family and they said could you go and see my relative in the hospital and I’ve shot over there and he was very, very uptight and he asked me, he said, I haven’t. He was dying and he said, I haven’t been water baptized and I want to go to heaven. And I told him that he didn’t have to be water baptized to be saved. Water baptism was a testimony on the part of the believer.
They’ve been washed of their sin by the blood of Christ, but water did not save it. I went through Scriptures with him. And you know, right then there was such a relief on his face and his whole body calmed down. He had been so tense and he relaxed and we prayed and I left him and he was at peace. I went down to the cafeteria and I met with family members and I told the story about what his concern was and how he received Christ as a Savior right there and was assured of going to heaven and had become so calm.
Minutes later a nurse came down to the dining hall and told us he had passed away. I said I said, wow, how close that was and how wonderful that I could get there in time to give him a peace of mind before he slipped into eternity that he was saved. Think about it. The dying thief was never water baptized. That’s right. And he’s the example that God has given us about how anyone and everyone that would ever be saved would be saved.
He simply looked over to Christ and trusted Jesus as his Savior. And Jesus said, today thou shalt be with me in paradise. What a great verse. Luke 23, 43. Luke 23, 43. Write it down someplace. Luke 23, 43. Jesus said, today thou shalt be with me in paradise. He was given assurance that right on that very day that he would be in heaven. You know, you can know right now before you ever die that you would go to heaven whenever you die by simply trusting Christ.
You don’t have to worry about whether you will or you will not. The Bible says in 1 John 5, 13, these things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God that you may know K-N-O-W. You can actually know that you H-A-V-E have. That’s the present tense verb. So you can know that you have. You can know that you have. You can know that you have. John 513, write that one down. First John 513, you can know you have, you can know you have.
A lot of times I’ll ask somebody, where would you go if you were to die? And they’ll say, I hope I’m going to heaven. Or I’d like to go to heaven. Or I think I’ll go to heaven. Or I’m working at going to heaven and on and on and on it goes. But the true believer ought to be able to say, I know, I know, I know, I know. And the Bible says you can know. Even in the Old Testament, Job, chapter 19, verse 31, or 25 and 26 of Job 19, Job says, I know that by Redeemer, liveth.
And Job went on to say that even though he would die, even though the worms would eat up the body that he lived in as it was placed in the grave, But he would in his flesh in a new body that God would give him, see the Lord. And isn’t that wonderful? Job knew he was saved. David knew he was saved. The 23rd Psalm, David said, I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Why? Because David trusted in the good shepherd that he had given his life for the sheep.
In the 22nd Psalm, the prophet David foretold the death, the bear, the resurrection of Christ, to such detail that he tells in verse 16 of Psalm 22 that the Christ hands and feet would be pierced. A clear reference to crucifixion. Verse 18 tells that they would gamble for his clerk at the foot of the cross. My friend, this is all a thousand years, a thousand years before Christ ever came. The whole story had been told in advance and Christ came and fulfilled it to the letter and David says in the 23rd Psalm, the Lord is my shepherd.
When you personally trust Jesus Christ is the one who died for you, God saves you. You can receive that eternal life right now, wherever you might be, listing the Bible on. You can just say, Lord, I am a sinner. I don’t understand a whole lot about the Bible, but I do indeed trust that Jesus Christ died to pay for my sins was buried in rose again from the dead I trust him right now as my only hope of going to have it as my savior as the only time to forgive my sins.
Guess what? The instant you do that my friend you’re saved forever. He says, because you’re putting your trust in Jesus Christ as the one who died to pay for your sins. And the Bible says, in John 3 16, who’s so ever, anyone, everyone, who’s so ever, believeth in Christ, should not perish, but have everlasting life. That would be the best news you’ll ever hear in your entire life. Whosoever, that means you. You if you would put your trust, if you would believe, the Greek word means to trust.
If you would trust Christ as your Savior, you would not perish. You would HIV have everlasting life. Isn’t that great? It certainly is. It’s the best news you’re ever going to hear. trust that you would put your trust right now in Jesus Christ as your Savior and receive that gift of eternal life. Would you do it right now? Just tell the Lord, Lord, I’m a sinner, and we all are. But God, I believe and trust that Jesus died to pay for that sin by his death and shed blood at the cross with buried and rose again from the dead.
The moment you trust Him, God saves you. Do it right now. Don’t waste another minute. you can be assured from the Bible that you have eternal life as we just said a moment of giving 1 John 513. 1 John 513, God says, these things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that you may K-N-O-W. That means no. I guess not perhaps, not maybe, but you could know that you, H-A-V-E, you have present tense right now.
eternal life right now you have everlasting life if you trust Christ and if you have it now you’ll have it tomorrow next week next year ten years now a hundred years now because eternal life is eternal if you have a possess eternal life right now think about it what can a life will it be next year it’s still going to be terrible what about a hundred years now and i think if you had a hundred to whatever age you are you can say i probably not going to be around this earth anymore but if you still have eternal life you know you’re going be with Florida in heaven forever and I hope you have eternal life.
I’m Dr. Englinson, Mrs. Bibleline and we’re going to go ahead and go to the phone lines. We have people calling in and we have Dean in Largo, Florida and Dean, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Hi Dean, you’re on the air. Hi, is this Pfehank? Yes it is. Hi, I’m on my cell phone driving to Tampa. I actually work right by where you are for the last four years. So I want to offer my services to you, but I need your address and maybe…
A couple of quick questions. I got a million of them, but I live in Largo. My question is, in Peter about the divided family, one believes, one, and the other part doesn’t believe how is it covered. Second question is, I watched it for the first time Sunday by myself, and I was re-convicted. What language was that? Was it a person? which was that, was Arabic, Greek, Hebrew, I don’t know. And the third question is, we’re around the last corner before the rapture, the trinkling of the eye.
We’re going to be taken out. How can I start working to get going on left behind information because it’s coming quick? So I’ve read the New Testament. customer. Okay, Dean, we’ll give you the address here over the phone right now and you can also call back and talk to our operators about the address. But we’re located at 4811 George Road in Tampa, Florida, and that’s just on the west of the Tampa National Airport. We’re just actually one block west.
We’re so close to the airport. I feel like sometimes I can reach out and slap the airplane, so that gives you a kind of a visual. But Eisenhower Boulevard and the Veterans Expressway parallel the airport on the west running north and south. And we’re the next block further west running north and south, George Road. And we’re about midway directly west of the airport. We’re right there midway between Memorial and Hillsborough avenues. And that might help give you a visual.
4811 George Road. We hope that Dean Ewe and others will come by to see us and we’d love to get to meet you. Not too sure what you’re talking about there in Peter, but certainly the gospel does divide families and if that’s what you’re talking about, sometimes when you become a believer. Depending on what your religious background is, other family members will somewhat shun you, or separate themselves from you. And of course, that’s normal to be expected. And I hope that you can win your family over to Christ so that you’re no longer divided, because obviously the Gospel does divide.
You see that throughout the scriptures and we find that the gospel causes division. Even in the Old Testament you see that and in the New Testament for sure. And as believers, it will separate you from people at work in other places that of course we need to be as wise as a serpent, harmless as a dove as we attempt to share our faith with others, but we need to love people and share the simple messages best we can. As far as the language in the movie, the passion, I believe it was Aramaic that they were using, which is probably the dialect of Hebrew being spoken at the time of Christ.
And that’s probably what was being used in the movie. I think that was, it’s been a while since I paid attention to the film, it came out several years ago, obviously. But once you trust Christ as your Savior, Dean, you are saved forever. And obviously the second coming is coming up soon, but before that, seven years earlier, the Rapture, and if you’re a believer, you’ll not be left behind. You’ll be caught up to meet the Lord in the year.
The Bible says in 1st us, lo and 4 14, if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, then you’re going to be in the rapture if you’re living when Christ comes back. And that’s the key verse. So when you trust Christ, you become saved and are in it. But obviously we want to be serving and living for Christ because God will reward us for our faithful service. We’ll be held accountable one day for what we’ve done since we’ve been saved.
And I know a number of believers here that say, I want to make up for most time. I want to lay up treasures in heaven like Christ said. And as we serve Christ, as we live for Christ, whatever we do, no matter how small or insignificant, God remembers that and He’ll reward us for that. I think of the little widow that gave her might. And she was there in the temple area and the disciples were just there and watching the rich give their offerings and they were just impressed with the amount of money they gave.
And Jesus took their eyes away from the rich and he pointed to a little woman who gave the last coin that she possessed and he said that she gave more than the rich people did because she gave all her living. She gave everything. She gave 100%. So if you, and they said the rich people didn’t, you know, they gave out of their abundance and they didn’t give all they had. And so the little lady has been immortalized forever and she’s a hero and heaven, no doubt about it.
And so it’s what you can give based upon your ability to give. And God will bless whatever you give in the way of your time and your accounts and your treasures. Thank you for calling me. And I look forward to meeting you. I hope you’ll be able to find this easily. Alright, we’re going to go to another color from Tampa, Florida. And this is, I’m not too sure how to pronounce this. Samuel. Samuel, and okay, Samuel, welcome to Bibleline.
And you are now on the air. Samuel? Hello. Yeah, you want to hear? Okay, yes. Dear, you are the Exodus chapter three verse four, where it says, in God says to Moses, I am who I am, and He said, And thus You shall say to the children of Israel, I am hath sent me to You. well what we have there is god giving his personal name uh… what oh What a special name that is, because God is eternal. He is not bound by time.
In other words, he operates outside of time. In fact, I believe the God of the Bible is multidimensional and that he intercepts time as he wishes to. But when he does intercept time, he always intercepts time in the present tense. He doesn’t say I was or I shall be, but he says I am. And Jesus claims to be the very same God that appeared to Moses there at the burning bush. Jesus uses that title I am. In John 824, Christ said, if you believe not that I am, I am.
He shall die in your sins. So to recognize who Christ is, which the Jehovah’s Witnesses, the most cults, deny the deity of Christ, they’re lost. Jesus said, unless you recognize that I am, that is the God of the Bible, the God of the universe, the God of eternity, the God who created us, unless you believe that he came in human flesh in the person of Christ, and died for pay for your sins, you’ll not be saved. So he’s really saying that he is the eternal God who is not bound by time but intercepts time always in the present Okay, well, I have something on that.
Okay, it says, I am who I am. In my Bible, it translates Yahweh. See, he says, and Yahweh said to Moses, I am who I am. And he said, best you sell things to the children of Israel. In the Israel Yahweh has sent me to you. Thus you said, say to the of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Pilate, and the God of Jacob has sent me to you. This is my name forever Yahweh said. He said, this is the memorial which is the…
What Bible are you with your host witness? No, no. I’m reading out a regular king to the truth. Yahweh says, this name is my name, but it never changed. It didn’t make me think of the name. The King James does not say Yahweh, so I don’t know what translation you’re reading from, but here I have it in Exodus 3, 14, it says, and God. The word God there is Elohim, which is the plural form of the name of the office of God.
And God said in the Moses, I am that I am. he said, d’Ioshot say unto the children of Israel, I am has sent me unto you.” And then verse 15 goes on to say, and Elohim, moreover, said unto Moses, d’Ioshot d’Ioshot say unto the children of Israel that, and here the word Yahweh is used, Yahweh, Elohim hath, and so on. So I don’t know what translation you’re reading from, but this is, God is Yahweh, that is his personal name, but here God is interested himself as I am.
I hope that helps and thank you so much for your call today. That help it all? I don’t know what happened to that caller, but we’re now going to go to Mark in Jacksonville, Florida. Mark, welcome by when you’re on the air. A couple people, it might have been Dave Hunter, somebody. If you would just explain a little bit about Matthew 24. Give it a try. I’ll meet and I’ll take it up here. Okay. Mark up in Jacksonville, Florida, and we’re gonna turn there to Matthew 24 And we’re talking about the last verses there.
This is not talking about the rapture, but it’s talking about the second coming You’ll notice in the context It talks about Christ returning verse 29 says immediately after the tribulation of those days we find verse 30, Christ coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory and he sends out his angels. That’s not the rapture, it’s the second coming. Verse 40 and 41 are the second coming, not the rapture, two will be in the field, the one will be taken, that one is taken in judgment and killed, the one that’s left is left to live in the millennium and here it’s telling people here to watch and to be ready for his coming and it talks about here God rewarding his saints based upon their faithfulness.
Let me just say hi to my Amy Florida and all the people in South Florida are listening on WMCU 1080 on the am down and God bless you we’re glad to be on the air we’re down there with you all and again let me remind you that we need your help to be able to stay on the air in Miami and also hopefully get enough to be able to be on for the full hour so pray for us if you can help us call and consider giving a gift by credit card over the phone and helping us with Miami.
Thank you Miami but the answer We are here to Matthew 24 talking about Christ will come back and if you are saved you will be able to live into the thousand year reign of Christ but no unsaved people will enter into the millennium. So if you are not saved then you will be cut off and not be able to enter into the I hope that answered that for you. We’re going to go now to Angel. In Tampa, Florida, Angel, welcome to Bibleline.
You’re on the air. Hey, good morning. Yeah. Okay. Thank you. He does have many names and Jesus, of course, is who we’re talking about and unless you trust Jesus as your Savior, you’ll not be saved. Anyway, we’re going to finish up the first half hour now and go to break and come back and do a second half hour and get this full program on the internet right now. Good of Bibleline ministries.org. Also, if you want to help Bibleline. and your gift would be greatly appreciated at this time as we’re running a little short.
You can call 1-800-576-3771 and give a gift by credit card or you can ask for an envelope to be sent mailed at gift in. We’re going to go to break. Well, I’m Dr. Englundserman. It’s great to be with you and thank you for tuning in to the podcast. We appreciate you and all our listeners and we hope that we’ll get a chance to meet you sometime. And we know that if we don’t get to meet you here on this planet, we’ll get to meet you in the air at the event of the Rapture because all believers, All believers, everyone who’s trusted Christ, will be in the rapture if they’re living when that event takes place.
And I think we’re close enough that it could really happen this year. It could happen anytime. I’m not a date setter, but I’m watching. I’m looking. You know, and if you don’t look and you don’t watch, you’re delinquent because Christ tells us 23 times in the Gospels to watch for His coming. So if you’re not watching, you’re really delinquent as a believer. This is something that everybody ought to be doing. Jesus tells us to do that. Well, in the case, we’re excited about so many things.
We want to go back to Israel. We’d love to have you go with us. And if you are interested at all, if you would just call us and give us your information, we’ll keep you informed as we make our plans and decide upon a date and what we’re going to do when we go to Israel. We’d love to have you go with us. Would you consider that? Give us a call. We’ll put you on our list and keep you informed.
We’ll also be having a baptism coming up in the next month or two. If you’ve not been water baptized and if you want, you can be included with us here. I know we had a family in New York that said they wanted to come down sometime and have baptized them. We’ll be happy to do that. In fact, if you let us know, advance. We’ll make plans to baptize you when you come into town if you want to be baptized here.
Also, our worship services are there online for you. You can go anytime a day or night and listen to the Bible and programs on the radio, but also you can watch the worship services there in our kind. We have two years worth of programs waiting there for you. Just go to BibleLineMinistries.org or dot com. Again, if you can help us financially, we are totally listeners supported. We don’t have any other means of support. We would appreciate hearing from you in that way because we have no other way to be able to stay on the air, so to continue and to grow and to reach forward, we need your help.
So please, please consider giving a gift to my blind. And certainly we thank you for praying for us. If you would do that, we’d be very happy. Anyway, we are gonna go back to the stations that have been on break and do the second half hour Bible. And so I hope you’ll keep your video right where it is. And here we go. We’re gonna do Bible and the second half hour right now.
Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Right, we’re back from that break and it’s exciting to be with you again today on Bibleline. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church. We’re on the pastor. I have picked all the time to tell me they listened and they don’t realize that we’re right here in Tampa and when they live in Tampa as well.
Well you can come by and see us. We’re going to be teaching 2nd Peter coming up April 1st and if you’re close enough to be able to come by and we’d love to have you sit in the classroom with us and we’ll be teaching for 10 hours beginning April 1st of Tuesday night. We’ll teach for 5 Tuesday nights, 2 hours per Tuesday. and we’ll do Second Peter. And I hope you can be live with us in the classroom. If not, we’ll be recording those and they’ll be on CD and DVD and you can order those series on Second Peter.
We just finished First Peter prior to our trip to Israel and that’s also available right now. Plus before that we did the Gospel of John. That was a wonderful study, verse by verse 20 hours of teaching and you’re welcome to to one of that series in two parts. You can just get part one and then later get part two or you can get the whole thing at one time. But because it was so long, we did break it into two halves.
And we’d love to have you know that we have about 40 different presentations. We have the book of Revelation, the book of Daniel. Many of the New Testament books, Romans, Hebrews, the book of Jude and on and on and on goes. But we might get a note that those are available. You can also order our CDs of our Sunday Sermons. A lot of people subscribe and they have the Sunday Sermons coming to their home once a month on CD.
And if you want to order those CDs, you can subscribe and have it come every month right to your home. You might want to do that and people do that and enjoy. And use them in their car when they go into and fro from work and whenever they are out about and have a chance to listen to a CD player. You might want to think about that and plus the many other resources we have available in our resource center.
We just met, I was up in national Tennessee at the National Religious Broadcasters and we met a gentleman there, had a project to get the gospel into Turkey and he’s anxious to take my television programs and translate them into Turkey, should broadcast them via satellite all over throughout Turkey. Turkey is a pretty huge country and they have more television sets per capita, excuse me, than almost any other country in the Middle East. So we’ll apparently be on the air in Turkey.
That’ll be our Bible and television programs. So we’re excited about what God has in store and we hope that you’ll pray for that project and the old era is for free. So we’re gathering right now our TV programs as we speak in the office here on DVD to send over to Turkey to be translated into Turkey and broadcast into Turkey. We’re putting stuff going on and we just hope that you’ll pray for us and maybe be a part of us as you pray for and give to Bible and keep us on the air.
We had Samuel on the air a moment ago and he’s back. So Samuel, let’s go ahead and continue what’s happening. Hello? Yes, Samuel, you’re on the air. Okay, we had that. is described as missing the mark. The main word in the New Testament means to miss the mark. So like in Romans 3, 23 says all have sinned. It really means there to miss the mark and it comes short of the glory of God. So the mark or the requirement for salvation is that you be as righteous as God and every one of us in the human race have come short of that.
So if you’re anything less than perfect, you’re a center. And whenever you miss the mark, whether you miss it by an inch or by a mile, you have sinned. For example, if you were an archer and you’re firing an arrow at the target and you miss the target, whether you miss it by a mile or whether you miss it by one inch, you’ve missed the mark in the Greek word means to miss the marks of… Technically, you’ve sinned. And so the mark is, of course, the glory of God of the righteousness of God, and anything less than that is sinned.
So whenever we come short, we have sinned, and that’s the biblical definition. It’s also a transgression of the law. Whenever you tell a lie, you’ve broken a commandment, and you’ve sinned. And that’s what I was looking for. Yeah, I was looking at the day. And that’s transgression of all those laws, but that he gave us in the beginning. that deliver. Well guess what? We’re not under the law anymore. Christ died on the cross and He took the law and it says in Colossians 2-14 He nailed it to the cross and took it out of the way.
So then it says in Colossians 2-16 let no man therefore judge you in regard of the two little things of the law. Neither of the Sabbath or any of the Old Testament observances were not under the law. Nobody could ever be saved by the law. The law simply was a school teacher to bring us to Christ to show us that we have failed to reach the requirement. But we find that when we trust Christ, we are made righteous in Christ positionally at the moment we trust Him and therefore we are as righteous as the law demands in God’s sight because the righteousness of Christ is imputed or credited to the account of the So if you’re a believer, you’re the right to say the Lord of ends.
See, I’m reading here and Yahweh, therefore know that the Lord Yahweh, He is the fifth of all who keeps Christ, for a thousand generations. And He is the man to aid Him to their Jordan. He slept with him who hates them. He will with them to his face. Therefore, you start to keep them from him. Well of course, this is given to Israel by the way. I don’t know if you’re Jewish or not, but God gave the commandments to the nation of Israel to keep them a unique nation.
And it was given to them to point out that they were sinners. But if you’re going to try to keep the law to be saved, if you read Galatians 3.10, person is everyone that continue with not in all things that are written in the book of the law to do them. So if you could keep the law perfectly every day, but if you didn’t continue or if you broke one of those laws, you would be condemned to go to hell.
That’s why we needed a Savior. Jesus Christ is that Savior, and Samuel, when you trust him, you are then declared righteous based upon the fact that Christ who was perfect and was righteous and kept the law was his righteousness would be credited to your account. Otherwise, no one can be justified by the works of the law. It says in Galatians 3.11 that no one can be justified. No flesh can be justified in God’s sight by the works of the law.
It’s impossible. That’s why Christ came. If we could have, then Christ never needed a diet, was a waste of time for Christ to go to the cross but Jesus left heaven and went to the cross because we couldn’t keep that long. Are you trusting in the law to get you to heaven? No, no, see, the thing is this people that say they are Jewish and they just take on Judaism or that religion, but the word speaks of Abraham’s seed with the children of Israel that was going to be carried away in abundance.
for another land. There’s not theirs and there was going to be other people language and there was going to be a bower and a power verb and these other people’s land. And I’m not know if you were person but on my feet with a lot on the he brought his right which makes me the cetera make me have to follow these laws that you and commandment that y’all would have given us in the beginning that’s why the world is in k-out like it is not that we have to have his covenant behind us like his board well unless you’re born physically in the seat of a brand you’re not a Hebrew Israelite and that’s certainly not true.
I think you’re confused myself. Maybe I’m not understanding you, but I think you’re confused Samuel. As a as a Gentile, we don’t become Jews, but as a Gentile, we either end On the salvation that God offered to Israel and the whole world, that through the Messiah that would come of Israel all could be saved. And only through trusting Christ can you be saved. Samuel, let me talk to you later but I’m going to go to the next call. We’ve got people waiting.
And we’re going to go now to Linda in Sun City Center. Linda, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on there. Hi, Linda. Hi. You’re on there. Oh, thank you. The Lord has done my favor since I was a little girl and I’ve been collecting Bibles. I have all kinds of Bibles. When I read the Bible I ask for a clear understanding. My question is on the interpreters of all these Bibles. Okay the interpreters, what do you mean the interpreters? How they, why are they so different?
And who, you know, I’ve got modern ones I’ve that one from generations is huge Bible and they read differently. How do you know why do they read differently? Okay, well obviously one of the problems is today is that for a publisher to have their own copyright on the Bible, they must be 10% changes or they can’t get a copyright. So that’s one of the reasons. They are forced in order to, by copyright laws, if they want to have their exclusive copyright.
And look at all the different Bibles that are out there. They are all published by a different publisher who has an exclusive copyright on that particular Bible. So that has caused change and that change is not good because the Word of God doesn’t change. And what God said in the original manuscripts will live in a bind forever and ever and ever. But today we have people that want to get in on the Bible market and sell Bibles and so they will make their own Bible that will meet the copyright laws and so they can exclusively sell it nobody else can without paying the royalties.
And obviously they have to have 10% change in order to get the copyright. So look at what they’ve done. And so they read terribly different and I think it’s a travesty and shouldn’t be. Now we raised six children and they all have different Bibles and they seem to like get a Bible for their girlfriend and I just wondered about it. Well that’s what’s going on and that’s why with the modern translation you have to be very careful because they’ve made so many changes and some of them are very very damaging.
In fact, the NIV, which I consider one of the worst Bibles out there, deletes 44 verses in their entirety. We have a quiz here that we will mail out to you free that if you take that quiz using the NIV as your textbook, you’ll get a zero because the verses don’t even exist. And there’s thousands of other subtle omissions and many of these Bibles just omit things, which is really scary because if they added things, you’d probably pick up on it and say, ooh, look at that, they added.
But when they delete, you don’t even notice that they’re missing unless you’re a careful student and compare. But even the new American Standard version in John 647, a favorite verse of mine, amidst two words that are so key. It says, in the King James, barely early I stand to you, he to believe it’s on me, has everlasting life. Well in the new American Standard it says, Verily, verily I say unto you, He that believes has eternal life. Well it doesn’t tell you on whom you are to believe.
That’s a serious mistake. I mean, believes what? Or believes on whom? You must believe on Christ to be saved, and that’s missing. The phrase, get behind me Satan that Christ spoke, totally gone from the new American Standard. And other deletions that are scary, you know, when you get down and took careful examination, You need to really be a good student today to, when you grab on these new translations, you have to be careful you haven’t been cheated terribly and some of them really do cheat you.
I know, I know. I didn’t realize that the copyright was, I just couldn’t understand why there were so many. That’s why they have to make so many changes. Thank you Linda and that’s sad but that’s what’s going on here. We now have Leonardies up in Richmond, Virginia. Leonard, welcome to By The One You’re On Here. Good morning, Dr. Hank. I just had a question. Gentlemen, just get off the phone about the law and trying to keep the law and study here.
And when the teacher’s been teaching about tithe, I know under the law, they were told they were told that tithe’s 10% give their 10%. But now that we… I just want to know how we steal bound to the law of the given or I know Jesus spoke about giving but I want to know your understanding on the Jesus of the time. Well Jesus did because he came and fulfilled the law but we are no longer under the law. You are not under the legal obligation to give 10 percent but we are to give and there many verses that talk about believers giving and how we should give from the heart and not as under the law.
I love 2 Corinthians chapter 8 and chapter 9 which really talk about New Testament giving. And here he talks to the people at Corinth about giving and he talks here about how that it proves the sincerity of your love. And then as an example of giving, he gives us Christ here in 2 Corinthians 8.9. He says, for you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might be rich.
So there’s an example of giving Christ gave everything, gave his life. And if we use Christ as an example, we ought to give everything to him, which means that we recognize that everything we have comes from him and that we owe him everything. So we should give. And then it says here in chapter 9, every man, verse 7 of 2 Corinthians 9, according as he purposed within his heart, so let him give, not grudgingly or of necessity, for God He loves a cheerful giver or a hilarious giver.
Somebody who gives him the heart because he loves to give and wants to give and is grateful for what God has done. And then it talks about how God will give you the sufficiency to be able to do that. If you give to the Lord, He’ll take care of your needs and God wants you to give and invest in eternity and He’ll reward you for that painfulness in giving. So Leonard, I hope that helps a little bit, but we’re not under the law.
I think Leonard is signing up and if you want to call in the phone number is 1-800-576-3771. Mark in Tampa calls in and leaves this offer a question and he says, what does the Kingdom of Heaven is of hand mean? Did it mean or did it begin when Jesus was born or after the resurrection? The kingdom of heaven is really an expression that should read literally the kingdom of the heavens where it’s when the heavens will rule over the earth.
That’s the millennial kingdom that Christ is going to establish that will happen at his second coming. It was at hand because the king was here actually on the earth, Christ, and had the Jewish people received Christ as their king, the kingdom would have been set up when Christ came the first time. If that had happened, this present age would not have even occurred and you and I would not have been born. But God in his foreknowledge saw that the kingdom would be rejected as they would reject the king, and so the kingdom has been postponed and will not take place until the second coming.
So the kingdom of heaven was at hand, but obviously the king was rejected and went back to heaven. And now we’re waiting for his second coming. As the church is the body of Christ, we’re waiting for the Rapture, but God will, right after the Rapture, pick up with his plan for Israel and offer himself again as a king to Israel. And when they do receive him, he’ll set up his kingdom at the second coming. Mark, thank you for that question.
We now have Ben in New Kent, Virginia. And Ben, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hey Dr. Lindstrom Hey, Gar heads Hey Gar, could you tell me something about that? Okay, he didn’t have a child with Hager and it was ishmael, but his only begotten son the one that he began of through his wife was obviously Isaac and and it was a picture of course of God’s only begotten son the only one that God ever began was Jesus.
Otherwise, Jesus, of course, was not the son of Joseph because Joseph was not the father, but he was therefore called the son of God. So this is what he’s talking about. He tried, of course, and I think Sarah suggested that he would have sex with Hagar and have a child by her, and that would be his seed, but God said, that’s not going What happened? The seed they got promised to Abraham would be the heir and that would be the one that would be the natural child of Abraham and Isaac.
So that’s that’s what’s going on. I hope that helps answer that question. We’re now going to go to Matthew and Matthew is in Spring Hill and Florida. That’s Spring Hill, Florida. Matthew. Welcome to Bibleline. Good morning, Dr. Hank. No, the answer is no. The church didn’t begin until Pentecost and those that live prior to that mill testament are not a part of the church. The church is the bride of Christ. It’s a unique and special group and we are separate.
Okay, so the paradise and they went to heaven with Jesus after works. That’s exactly right. Okay. And then when Jesus returns, is he going to be coming back in the rapture? He’s going to only be rapturing out the church and then when it comes again everyone including the woman. Yes, that’s exactly right. We’ve got it. Okay. All right. Thank you. Good question. And what he’s saying there is that Christ comes for his church at the Rapture. But seven years later at the Second Coming he comes back with his church.
And so we find that when he does he’ll also bring back the Old Testament saints and the the resurrection bodies as well. And the heavens will rule over the earth as the Jesus himself will be ruling on the earth, God who is taking on human flesh. And plus we’ll be back at our resurrection bodies helping to rule and reign. But the actual saints during the Millennial Kingdom will be those who get saved in the tribulation period who have not died, who have survived all of the different judgments and live into that Millennial Kingdom.
There will be the actual subjects of that millennial kingdom. We have Jessica in St. Petersburg. She calls in with his welfare questions. She says, can you explain the purpose of assigning Godparents to a child? Well the idea there is to have somebody that would spiritually try to complement what the parents do in raising that child to be a Christian, to be a believer, and to live for Christ. And so these are people that would say, we will pray for, support the parents and the spiritual guidance of that child, and that we’ll aid any assistance that we can.
So basically, the God-parents have to be Christians, obviously, and their responsibility is to try to lead that child of Christ along with the parents and to pray for and be a support as far as faith is concerned. They don’t have to change the diapers and raise the child, but they do have to take care of spiritual things like maybe talking to those children about the Lord and being an example to that child and being a spiritual encouragement to the parents and to the child.
they become God, God parents, it has to do with the spiritual raising of the child. Most God parents, I don’t think carry through, I think the majority of them don’t. It’s just something that happens as a dedication event and then is forgotten. But if you ever take that responsibility on, I think you really should be accountable to continue to be a blessing and encouragement spiritually to that child to make sure that child comes into the ward and is scared in the right direction as far as their life as best you can.
We have Leonard in Richmond, Virginia and Leonard, welcome to Bible Anne. You’re on the air. How you doing, Pat? Hey, the question about heaven, I think one of the most unfortunate, everybody don’t want to know about what goes on in heaven. I’m just told it in the moment, but I’m the same to the old when Christ died and he was resurrected when he took the old things with them, the paradise with them. But I remember the description when he said he went to pray and he said he’s called Moses.
He already didn’t have it already. I’ve been playing that for a minute a little bit. Well you might be talking about the amount of transfiguration back in 2017 and there Christ appeared on this. The disciples, Peter James and John were able to see that event before it ever happened and get to see what it would be like when Christ comes back. We’re out of time. This program is just went by so quickly. But again, we want to say if you haven’t trusted Christ, you need to do that.
I hope you would trust Him and Him alone as your only hope of heaven. If you’re a believer and you’re enjoying Bible language, you consider praying for us. And also if you could give, you know, the economy has hurt us as well as other Christian ministries. And we certainly could use your help at this time.
