That’s 1-800-576-3771. Give us a call. And we’ll try to get your Bible question answered here on the Bibleline program. You know, Jesus Christ is in the Old Testament. Wherever you look, you’ll find Him there. In fact, Jesus Himself spoke about how He was in the writings of Moses and other parts of the Old Testament.

Fascinating. But yet, I was never told that when I was a child being raised up in church. Nor was I ever encouraged to read the Old Testament to see these wonderful truths that are there in God’s Word. But let me read a quote here from Jesus Christ. And he says in John 5 verse 45, do not think that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one that accuses you even Moses in whom you trust. Verse 46, you ought to get this one to write it down, John 546, for had you believed Moses, You would have believed me for he wrote of me.

Moses is the human writer of the first five books of the Bible, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy. And here Jesus says that Moses wrote about me. And yet they prided themselves, that Jewish audience that Christ was speaking to, prided themselves in reading Moses. And yet he said, you’ve missed it. Hey. There’s one that will accuse you one day and that’s Moses if you believed Moses you would have believed me for he wrote about me Wow and The next verse verse 47 of John 5 says if you believe not his writings How shall you believe?

My words Well clearly Christ is in the Old Testament You know one of the stories that is one I’ve always loved and is fascinating is the story of Shadrach me shacked and a bendigo. I don’t know if you heard the story about the little boy who came home from Sunday school and he didn’t get exactly right and the mother asked what he had heard in class and he said we learned about real estate. She said real estate. Yeah he said we learned about my shacked, your shacked and a bungalow.

Anyway that’s not difficult. Let’s turn in our Bibles here to Daniel Chapter 3 and we have Jesus in Daniel Chapter 3 and We have Chad rack me sure I can have end to go cast into the burning fiery furnace you might remember that and Nebuchadnezzar the king we know was astonished as he looked into the flames and He said I see four men loose walking in the midst of the fire and And they have no hurt and the form of the fourth is like the son of God.

Did you realize that Jesus was in the burning fiery furnace with Chad RekmiĊĦek? It had been to go. You know, and they came out, uncinged, not the least bit of the smell of smoke on their flesh, and their clothing and everything was intact, nothing was burned. It’s a picture, really, of Christians will never endure the flames of hell fire. Hell is real. Hell is forever. And those that are lost will be cast into an everlasting lake of fire. One of the things that is a mark of a cult is the denial of hell.

And the Jones-Woodens has denied the fact that there’s a hell. The seven dead venus denied that there is a hell. The Christian scientists denied that there is a hell. And on and on we could go this is something that all of those that our cults denied. It all goes back to the garden where Satan himself denied the penalty for sin when he told Eve that if she aided the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of the legal, she said he said, you shall not surely die.

said, you’ll die. And Satan says, no, you won’t die. And Satan always tells the lie that there is no hell. There is no penalty for dying without Christ. But there is. And here these three young believers, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were casted in the burning fire of furnace. It was so hot. The king was so angry that he had it, he had it seven times hotter than it was designed to be heated. And even the men that cast these three men into the burning fire of furnace died because of the great heat as they brought them close to the fire and threw them in.

And then we read this incredible story here. This is the testimony of Nebuchadnezzar the King himself. And he says, whoa, I see. He says in verse 24, did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? And they answered and said, King, that’s true. O King, we cast three into the fire. In the answer to verse 25 of Daniel chapter 3. He said, low IC4 men lose walking in the midst of the fire and they have no hurt.

And the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. Jesus was there in that burning fire furnace. You know the Bible tells us in Revelation chapter 20 that those that are saved will have no hurt of what is called the second death, which is to be cast into the eternal hell, which is exactly what this is a picture of back here in Daniel chapter 3. Let me quote to you from Revelation chapter 20, and here it talks about blessed.

That means happy. And it says here, and holy, holy means your righteous. And guess what? Every believer is considered righteous because they’ve trusted in Christ and God’s righteousness is credited to their account. And it says in Revelation 20 verse 6, Blessed, happy and holy or righteous is he that hath part in the first resurrection. That’s the resurrection of the saved, by the way. And then look at what it says here in Revelation 20 verse 6 on such the second death hath no power.

Just like the flames in the burning fiery furnace had no power and brought no hurt upon and Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. The believer is happy, and he is righteous because of God’s righteousness imputed to his account based on the substitutionary death of Christ that Jesus took our place, took our sin debt, and paid for it in its entirety by his death and shed blood. That they will never be hurt of what is called the second death. The second death hath no power over them.

And it says in verse 14 of this chapter that death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death to be cast into the everlasting lake of fire. You know, I’m not happy about the fact that there’s a hell, but I don’t set the rules. I didn’t write the Bible. I didn’t make this up. I’m just reporting and proclaiming what the Bible teaches. The Bible teaches there is a hell. Did you know that Jesus spoke more about hell than he did about heaven and the Old Testament and New Testament, Both certainly teach a place of eternal torment, a place of eternal separation from God.

In that wonderful book of Daniel, where we were just a moment ago, it tells us quite clearly in chapter 12 of Daniel that there will be a day coming. When it says here, many of those who sleep in the dust of the ershil awake, some do everlasting life and some to shame and everlasting contempt. Some will be in contempt of God forever and ever and ever, and others will experience everlasting life living in the presence of God forever and ever and ever.

You don’t want to die not having trusted Christ as your Savior because there is no other Savior. There is no other way to heaven. Christ is the only way, and He said it clearly in John 14.6, I am the way, the truth and the life, and no man, no man, no man, comeeth unto the Father but by me. Amazingly, a lot of people feel like salvation is in their church, or in their works, or in their deeds. Jesus didn’t say, your church is the way.

He didn’t say that your Christian life is the way. He didn’t say that your righteous needs and your good works are the way. Jesus said, I am the way. In other words, Jesus himself is the Savior. And unless you trust him, you’re not going to make it. He says, no man comeeth unto the Father, except by me. No man. That means nobody. Nobody’s going to get in unless they trust Christ and Savior. He says, I am the way, the true, the life, and no man cometh unto the Father but by me.

Earlier in John Jesus talks to unbelievers and says, where I go, you cannot come. Where I go, you cannot come. He’s talking about going back to heaven and he says, when I go back to heaven, you can’t come. Why? He says, because you don’t believe. And unless you believe or trust on Christ as your Savior, you cannot come. And in John 14, 6, He says, I am the way, the truth of my life, and no man can come. No man can come unto the Father except by me.

Jesus, many times, invited the lost and said, Come unto Me, and I. Jesus is God who came and took on human flesh and he offers eternal life. The forgiveness of sin. He offers a home in heaven. He offers almost everything you’d ever dream of. As he will take care of your needs forever and ever if you only would come and trust him as your Savior. Have you done that? If you haven’t my friend your lost. If you haven’t my friend you can’t go where Jesus is today.

day. My friend, if you haven’t trusted Christ, you’re going to wind up in hell. And the fires of that burning fiery furnace, the picture that we read about in Daniel, will hurt you. He’ll be in torment. The Bible says he’ll be weeping and gnashing of teeth day and night forever and ever and ever for those that are lost. You don’t want to risk that. You don’t want to have that happen to you and you don’t have to because God so loved the world he gave his only begotten son that his so ever believe within him should not perish but have everlasting life.

I’m Dr. Englinstram and we’re going to go to the phone lines if you’d like to call us the number is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771 and we want to say a special welcome to those listening on 1220 on the AM now, WSLM in Salem, Indiana. And we are glad that you’re able to hear us today and we’ll be able to hear us Monday through Friday every week. And we hope that you’ll tune us in at this time. I believe your time is the same as mine.

And we begin here live at 10 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. By the way, on the internet though you can catch us any time of day or go there Bibleline ministries.org. We just had a visitor here from Georgia that listens every day, every day on the internet to Bible. What a nice compliment it was to hear that they listen on the internet and are able to catch us every day and they want to faithfully follow that. Well if you have a question or comment you can call now at 1-800-576-3771 We’re going to go now to Richmond, Virginia, and we have Tony on the line.

And Tony, welcome to the Bibleline program. Hey, Dr. Lunchton. My question is about, and that you, when Jesus said, the people of Jesus, didn’t mean you listen to your name and that in your name. He said, the part for me, those people who were doing those things, after they do those things, since they weren’t believers, Is that just the power in the name of Jesus and their comment on one of the big words? Last week I think I heard you talk about are you talking about the passage of Matthew chapter seven?

About those that are preaching and healing in the name of Christ No, sir. I’m talking about when they when the people don’t tell Jesus the many will face him in that day Lord Lord didn’t we do this in your name? Yeah, well that’s Matthew 7 22 and yes, they are claiming to be Christian, but they are not. This is happening a great deal today. Those that claim to be Christian, they claim that they are doing miracles and claim that they are healing, but they really are not doing that at all.

This experience that seems to be so common among all of those that are into the signs and wonders movement is what they call being slain in the Spirit. There is no such thing in the Bible as being slain by the Spirit. In fact, whenever you see people falling backward and going to the ground in the Bible, the only example I know of is unbelievers who fall backward just like that. In Matthew and John’s Gospel chapter 18, you have Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane and the soldiers come with Judas who comes to betray him and Jesus steps out and says, who are you seeking?

And they said, Jesus of Nazareth, and when Jesus said, I am using the very name of God that God used at the burning bush in Exodus chapter 3, it says they all fell backward. That must have been embarrassing here. These are fighting soldiers, fighting men who have their weapons, their lanterns, their torches, they’re ready to take Christ. I’m sure their adrenaline was running and they were ready to take Him and they get blown right off their feet. I believe this is really a subtle tip-off that those who are falling down in these beatings backward are not saved.

I think that’s the way you can tell. They don’t know the Lord at all. These are the counterfeits today of the real truth, and it’s unfortunate that people are doing that. But Christ says to them in Matthew 7, 23, I never knew you. He didn’t say, I once knew you’d have lost you. That’s impossible. Won’t you become saved? You cannot be lost because Christ keeps you saved. He says in John 639 that it was the Father’s will that he would not lose one.

Not lose one, but raise up everyone that has come to him for salvation. So not one person will ever be lost, but those that are lost sometimes claim to be Christian and they’re not. That’s what that’s all about, Tony. And unfortunately, we have the majority are in that boat because if you read Matthew 7, 22 it says many and I believe that’s in contrast to the few in verse 13 and 14 where narrow is the way that leads into life and that’s Christ.

There’s only one way and few are those that find it but broad is the way that leads to hell and many are those that go in there at and so these are the laws. Thank you Tony I hope that helps answer that for you we’re now going to go to David in Lakeland, Florida. David, welcome to Bibleline your own ear. Yes, I have been listening to you and yesterday’s He is a leader core in and for the roof of us that is moving on the floor and this floor that lays in the floor with us.

I just wanted to make a comment. I have been through the And my belief that it is from God because in the Bible, you know, like Jesus was cast not ever, some people did not believe him. And Jesus said that Jesus cannot have the system. So Jesus said a lot of miracles, a lot of people did not believe. He said he was or he is friends. So I think maybe you should check out the revival for yourself. Then to try to criticize, say.

Well, thank you very much. You know that revival you’re talking about in Lakeland with Todd His message is a false message from the get-go. Did you know that in Deuteronomy chapter 13 it talks about false preachers are able to do miracles? And it says if they do a miracle or a sign or a wonder, and yet their message isn’t consistent with God’s word, then it says don’t listen to that preacher, don’t follow that preacher because they are not from God.

So there are those who can do miracles, and I don’t doubt that at all. And the Bible says in fact in Matthew 24, 24, Jesus said in the last days we should expect that false preachers would come along and show great signs and wonders or miracles in so much of it were possible they would deceive the very elect. And I tell you, genuine believers are getting tricked today because they don’t know their Bible and they’re not checking out the message of the healer.

But if you were to watch the videos, you see things that are not really of God. People falling on the floor, convulsing, and obviously out of control, the Bible tells us in Timothy that the Holy Spirit is one who gives a sound mind. I’ve watched video now of these meetings in Lakeland and these people are flailing on the floor. They have to cover their, the ladies because they’re kicking around and it becomes indecent with their exposed bodies and they cover them with blankets.

So it’s not of God. Miami, thanks for being on the air with us. We have to sign up early with Miami. I just want to say a quick bye to you and Miami. Keep listening on the internet and next week we should be on for the full hour beginning Monday. Well, it’s interesting today where we’re living in an age of deception. The first thing that Christ said in Matthew 24 when asked what would be the sign of His coming, He said, do not be deceived.

There would be many false teachers in the last days and we’re there. We’re here. It’s happening all the time. you have to test the spirits. I think we answered that question yesterday by comparing what is being taught. I have been to these kind of healing meetings where I would watch them hold the heads of people and their children unless they bashe their brains out on the concrete floor of the auditorium, because they go into convulsions. I don’t think so.

And obviously these are the kind of things that are manifest in these meetings and I can give you a link if you want to watch some wild stuff at the Lakeland Revival. This is supposedly the third wave of signs and wonders coming along now as the first one began in Toronto, the second one was in Pensacola, Florida, and the third wave now in Lakeland, Florida. I think you need to be careful of all of that. Anyway, I’m Dr. Englunds.

We believe the Bible to be the Lord of God. And that is the book that is our soul source of truth. And we need to know what the Bible says so we can know what is truth and what is error. And the Bible is the only way. We are going to go to break and come back and do a second and a half hour. Again, if you haven’t helped Bibleline, could you call in today and give a gift by credit card and help Bibleline maintain itself on your station.

Here we go, we’ll take a break, we’ll be right back, and we’ll do another second half hour, so stay tuned, I’ll be right back. Don’t go away, Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr. Engleinscherman, and we’re having fun today here at Bible, and I hope you’re enjoying the program. We are coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church and we hope that you’ll come by and visit us sometime.

If you ever come into Florida, please come by and say hi. We are located right west of the Tampa International Airport about a block west. So if you get further away from the Tampa International Airport than about a block, you are headed away from us, not close to us. So we’re just on the west side of the main north south runway, just one block west of the perimeter road running north and south on the west of the airport. Our street is George Road running north and south parallel to Eisenhower Boulevard, state road 589.

So we’re easy to find. If you get a map or Google us or go on our website, we have it set up so you can just type in your address. Our address is already there, hit go and it’ll give you a description on how to get here from wherever you might be. I don’t care where you live in the US. It’ll tell you how to get right to us here at our address. Come by and see us. As we said a moment ago, we had some visitors and we had a lady here from Georgia who listens on the internet.

She’s in an area where she can’t hear us on a live broadcast but listens daily on the internet. that internet audience growing. Would you do me a favor and email some of your friends and let them know about Bible and give them the link if you need to or whatever, but hook them up so they can catch our website and they can be anywhere in the world. That’s right. If you know missionaries, if you have family, maybe people in the military, you know the parts of the world, they can listen.

We had a fellow in our studio just last week who was a soldier in Afghanistan a year ago said that he and his buddies would get into barracks and launch our worship services on the internet from Afghanistan in the barracks. Well, he said that sustained us. That kept us going through those difficult days in Afghanistan. Why not tell your friends and relatives and children that are in the military in other parts of the world how they can get the Bible and feel a sense of being connected to the U.S.

and also to God’s Word through the Bible and programs. We are listeners supporting. If you can help us, please call us at our 800-100-576-3771 and offer to give a gift by credit card. I want to thank you all that do that. You are the heroes that keep us on the air. God bless you. Thank you for your faithfulness. We’re going to rejoin the stations that have been on break and do the second half hour Bible I’m sick. Keep your radio tuned right where it is and here we go Part 2 of Bibleline.

Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break and this is Bibleline and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida. from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church located just the block west of Tampa’s International Airport. If you’re in the Tampa Bay area you can hear seven days a week on radio broadcasting out on AM 570 and AM 910 on your AM dial.

But if you have internet you can catch us any time of day or night at your convenience. A lot of people tell me. They come home from work. They shower. They have their evening meal. Then they get to their computer and they sit back and relax and listen to Bible and isn’t it great? They open their Bibles up and by the way you can fast forward me. You can back me up. You can pause me and they can open the Bible and look up the passages and review the part of the program that they’d like to hear.

It’s wonderful. I hope you’ll take advantage of that and we We have the web or the podcasting. We have the MP3s. It can be downloaded for your iPod. A lot of people are taking the programs and downloading them and carrying them with them wherever they go. We have a couple openings in our teen camp. We leave next Monday for a camp in the heart of Florida. Beautiful spring, fed lake and wonderful air conditioned cabins on a hill overlooking the lake.

And I guarantee those kids will get a great week of Bible. I hope that you will pray for us as we try to get these kids to know Christ and live for Christ. And if you have a teen, we still have a couple openings and you’re welcome to send your teen call for the information and we’ll be glad to connect you to the right people so you can talk to them about going to camp. The 23rd through the 28th Monday through Saturday and we’d love to have you send your teen.

We also want you to know that we will be teaching another class in July. I haven’t figured out the title yet. We’re open to suggestions, but we just finished. First Peter, second Peter, we just finished the Gospel of John. All of these are on CD and DVD, and you can order them and be as though you were in the classroom when we taught those classes. We will offer another one here coming up in another couple of weeks in July.

If you have a Bible question, you’re welcome to call in today the numbers 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. We’d love to hear from you. And again, also we want you to check out our Resource Center on that line or come by if if you’re in the area and actually walk in and visit our resource center. People do that all day long here and we enjoy meeting you and you can come by and knock on our door but know about 4.30 in the afternoon.

We’re now going to go to Karen in Tampa, Florida and Karen. Welcome to the Bible and program. You’re on the air. Karen? Yes, hello. Hi, Karen. Hi. You’re on the air. Yes, my question is that do you believe in the Holy Ghost? I do believe in the Holy Spirit. Yes, I do. How do you believe the Holy Ghost operates? He operates in a way that he promotes Christ, and according to John 16, Christ said he would not speak of himself, but he would receive from Christ and glorify Christ and lift up Christ.

up Christ and a lot of counterfeit is going on today where they talk more about the Holy Spirit than they do about Christ. You can know that that’s not from the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit does not glorify himself according to John 16. He glorifies Christ and we have also the Holy Spirit is the author of scripture and he would never violate his own words. So if we are really getting information from the Holy Spirit which comes from God’s Word that he is the author of, then everything that is done or said will be absolutely in line with the Word of God.

So that’s how we can know that we’re online with Holy Spirit. The only ghost is Jesus Christ himself that positive himself and thought of you. He said his first beating. He said, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for their mission of sins and he shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is a gift that God, the Father himself and the Son of you, so there are some things that I agree with you on but I am a person that really love the Lord and I believe they all go through in a serious way.

You may commend and say that it’s not a scar when a person received the oligos and they’re not in their right mind. I’m not sure exactly what you said. I’m just paraphrasing. But the oligos come up and you have power. Guys protect you. I’ve never seen one person ever get hurt, filling with the oligos. It’s a power. That’s the reason why Moses has to take off his shoes before he steps in the presence of that because it’s powerful. It’s so holy.

When it comes and starts up you, it teaches you. It shows you how to move. It’s deposited inside of you and gives you power strength. You just move in a different dimension. And as I say, respect your past or admit it. Things that you said. But there are some things too. I would love you to research them again because I know my God is and is powerful, is mighty. And I believe you are incorrect on how the Holy Ghost responds.

Okay. Karen, the power you’re talking about, if you read Acts 1a, the Great Commission, Christ He says, after the Holy Spirit would come upon you, you should receive power. And if you read carefully, the power there is for you to be a witness. It means he will unlock your jaw so you can talk about the gospel and lead people to Christ. It’s not power to do other things that you are referring to in the signs and wonders movement. And by the way, in Acts 2, 38, it’s talking about repent, which means from the Greek to change your mind and be cleansed or washed in the name or the authority of Christ.

And so when you change your mind about who Christ is and put your trust in him, your cleansed of your sin, you receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and you receive the gift of the forgiveness of your sin. And there is no outward manifestation that says that you’ve got that because the Bible says that it’s an inner power, it’s a quiet silent power to be a witness for Christ. And the modern day signs of wonder’s movement is I don’t believe I’ve got it all.

And this is not the Holy Spirit at work where I’ve got people in my church that have been permanently injured in these meetings. One fellow was slain in the Spirit and he hid his back on the pew that he fell back on. And he lay there and they came over to him and they told him to be quiet that they had insurance. Instead of healing him, he got injured and he still lives with those back injuries. Not only from our church, went against her son’s wishes to a Benny Henn meeting here recently and she fell back the same experience and she broke her arm between her elbow and her shoulder.

She still lives with problems from that and it was over six months in the healing. And she was screaming in pain and they told her to shut up and they dragged her out of the meeting. If I were there, I would have dragged her forward and say, look, you broke her arm healer. But they don’t tell you about all the people that get injured and healed and not healed, but seriously injured, sometimes lifelong injuries that come as a result of these meetings.

It happens and it’s unfortunate that people are not willing to really do their homework and see whether a genuine healing has been done or not. I had a dear friend. He had three children born to him. All were deaf. He had bought expensive hearing aid equipment and he loved his children very deeply. He went to one of the healers up north in Ohio and spent a lot of money to get there. And then he claimed in faith healing for his daughters and threw away their expensive hearing aids and everything else.

And he said, you know, it took a while for him to come to grips with the fact that his daughters could not hear any better after they had gone through the healing line and had been pronounced healed by the healer. And all of that, he came back home to the reality he had to buy new hearing aids and his daughters were not improved one bit. This is a charade, often times, and unfortunately people are gullible and they buy into it.

You have to really know for a fact that somebody has been healed. But if they were doing the biblical type healings, why wouldn’t they go to the hospital and empty people out of the hospital room, room by room, floor by floor? And in the Bible, you know, they could restore missing flesh. I never see people going on stage with one arm and coming off with two. I never see the dead raised and this is a claim that some are making but you can’t substantiate it, you can’t prove it.

But Jesus obviously rose, raised from the dead. And Lazarus had been dead four days. They knew his body stunk by that time and yet he came back from the dead. And that was the crowning miracle in the life of Christ. But the devil tries to counterfeit today but I believe what you’re seeing is a is a counterfeit movement. You don’t have Laurie in Tampa, Florida. Laurie, welcome to Bible on You’re On The Air. Hi Dr. Lancer. My name is Laurie.

I’m from Tampa and I would just like to know what you believe in when it comes to speaking in tongues. I know what you believe in but I want you to explain it to my husband. His name is Jack and he’s listening from another location. Okay. Okay. I’ll do it. But, you know, tongues was a genuine language gift given at the day of Pentecost so that the Jewish people would be evangelized in a Gentile language. If you read 1 Corinthians 14 verses 20 through 22, it says that the Old Testament had predicted that during this age when God would turn to us Gentiles, that he would, during the entire age, bring the gospel to Jewish people in a gentile language.

He says with men with vuthalips and other tongues, well, I speak to this people, and yet for all of that they will not hear me say of the Lord. So tongues was a gift given uniquely for the beginning of this age when all the first Christians there at Jerusalem were Jews, but they had Jews coming from all over the world, Acts chapter 2, 16 countries are named by name, and they heard the gospel given to them, not in Hebrew, which they could understand, but they were witness to in a Gentile language.

And actually the Greek word there is dialectos, which means a specific dialect of a specific language. So, wherever they were born and raised as a Jew, part of the dysphora, they came back to Jerusalem for the Feast of Pentecost. They heard the Gospel in that Gentile language where they were born and raised. And they said in verse 8, how is it we hear every man in our own tongue or dialect in which we were born and raised? That was a miracle.

Because here you had the apostles and others there that were monolingual, not really educated people. You usually were a trained educated person if you could speak more than one language. And here they can speak these four languages perfectly. Just like in English today, there are many different dialects. I’m here in Florida, but if I were to go up into Georgia, they speak a different dialect of English. And we just had a call a minute ago from Virginia. I could tell his dialect that he’s from that area of Virginia.

They all have that unique dialect. If you go to New York or Long Island, they have another dialect of English. Boston. They certainly speak a different brand of English. And then if you go to England, you want to… This is supposedly the mother language, and boy, it’s a lot different than the English we speak over here. Well, can you imagine, on the day of Pentecost, let’s say you were raised in Long Island, and you went over to Israel, to Jerusalem.

And some Hebrew Jewish believer in Jesus could speak to you in that perfect dialect of Only the people that live on Long Island could speak You would be impressed that would be a sign and that was the sign and 3,000 people got saved on the first day This gift became unnecessary as time went along as it went out to the Gentiles Gentiles then Obviously, we would be witnessing the Jews, and they already had a Gentile language. So as the gospel spread out to Asia Minor and over in degrees and as far as Roman beyond, the gift of tongues was no longer necessary.

In the Bible, said in 1 Corinthians 13, 8-10 that it would cease when the New Testament record was completed. But if you’re careful student of the Bible, you read 1 Corinthians, chapters 12-14. That was one of the earliest written New Testament books, and there you have the listing of the gifts and tongues is there, but it’s the least of the gifts. This last listed in the gifts, it was not the most important gift at all. And even then, not everybody had it.

It says in the questioning there, it says, are all apostles. That was one of the gifts. The gift of apostleship doesn’t exist anymore. It’s gone. Are all prophets and the answers know? That gift is also ceased. Are all teachers? The answer is no. had the gift of teaching, and it goes on down through the list, and finally it says, do all have the gift of tongues and answers? No. Even then, only a few got that particular gift, and it was the least of all the gifts.

But it was given to evangelize. And in chapter 14 and verse 9, it says, except you speak by the tongue. Word’s easy to be understood. How shall it not be known what you’re speaking? You just speak into the air. So obviously talking about communication and God gave the gift so that people can communicate clearly in the language of the hearer. Then in verse 22 of 1 Corinthians 14 it says that tongues are for a sign not to them that believe.

Catch that. Tongues of tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not. So tongues were to be used with unbelievers. That’s what it’s saying. And words would be easily heard and understood by the hearer and become saved. So it’s saying it should be used with unbelievers. Here’s something I’ve done for years and years now. I’ve done it for I don’t know how many years. I’ve never had a taker yet. I invite people who claim they have the gift of tongues.

So let’s go ahead and try it out. I’ll take you to the mall. I’ll take you to a stadium. I’ll take you someplace where there’s a group of people. And I’ll get you a crowd. If I have to freak out and stand on my head, I’ll get a crowd. But then I’m going to introduce you. You go ahead and speak in your gifted tongues. And if we have the real thing here, we’re going to have a revival. People are going to get saved.

It’s assigned to unbelievers. Let’s go. And I’ll buy you a stake dinner when we get all done. Nobody has ever gotten in my car yet. Nobody wants to use the gibberish that they’re doing today. in public because the gibberish is not the real gift it’s not assigned unbelievers and even those who do it realize that hey i don’t want to use this with unbelievers are gonna mitt laugh or mock or be frightened or uh… maybe think i’m insane and so they don’t want to use it i’ve never had anybody yet take me up on that and i offer the state dinner and everything and offer to drive them offer to get the crowd offer to set up the stage for them so they can present their gift And if it’s really the gift from God, we ought to have revival.

It’s a sign. Let me quote that verse again. 1 Corinthians 14-22, “…plons are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not. So it should be used with lost people, and if you ask the person doing the gibberish today if they use it around the lost, they say no. If you ask a person doing the gibberish today, do they understand what they’re saying? They’ll say no. When you talk to somebody who’s doing the gibberish today, does the person you’re speaking to understand what you’re saying they’ll say no.

That proves that they don’t have the real gift. The real gift was a known foreign language, a specific dialect of that language, so that you can communicate with that lost person. And what is the most amazing thing is that those who claim they have this gift send their missionaries to language school. And then what missionaries tell me is that they come down to the jungle and they’ve spent all this time in language school to be able to speak the language of the native in the jungle.

And when they get there, they try to get them to do the same gibberish that they do back in the States, which the missionaries tell me they’ve already been doing for hundreds of years because the witch doctor does the same gibberish. The gibberish is common to all the war religions. The Buddhists do the gibberish. People in Islam do the gibberish. The Mormons, which are occult and not even close to being Christian, do the gibberish. The medium in a satanic sahans breaks out into this unintelligible gibberish.

The common denominator here is it’s not a god. If this is a gift from God, why does he give it to the Buddhist? Why does he give it to Islam? Why does he give it to the Mormons? Why does he give it to a medium in a satanic sahans? Why does he give it to every ism and ism and spasim out there around the world, the tribes and the jungle, they all do, the witch doctor does this gibberish. You come in the encyclopedic, this is documented, what is called today tongues is really a gibberish that’s done by all the world religions.

The real gift of tongues, 1 Corinthians 13, 8-10, was the cease when the New Testament record was complete. And as you start off in 1 Corinthians, you have it listed. And then if you go to Ephesians, written later, which is a Gentile city in the listing in Ephesians 4 of the gifts, tongues is gone. When you get to Rome, in the book of Romans, written much later, when you get to Rome in Chapter 12 and you read about the gifts, tongues is gone.

It’s already gone. So even before the New Testament record was complete, you find it just drifting off the pages of the Bible. It’s only mentioned three times in the book of Acts, Acts Chapter 2, Acts Chapter 10, Acts chapter 19, that’s the only three mentions. It’s already just disappearing as the gospel went out to the world. Gentiles became saved. They already had a Gentile language. I am fulfilling prophecy right now when I talk to Jewish people because I am talking to them not in Hebrew but in English.

I love to tell Jewish people when I witness to them, I’m telling you about your Messiah that you should be telling me about. And… I’m talking to you in English, not Hebrew, and God said in the Old Testament that he would witness to Jewish people during this age where he’s turned to us Gentiles in Gentile languages. So when I witness in English, I say, I’m fulfilling prophecy. I am leading Jewish people to Christ. I’ve led a lot of Jewish people to Christ in Israel and here in the States.

And I’ve done it in English. And that is God’s plan. In Germany today, there are Germans that are not in English. I’m sure that are leading Jewish people to Christ in German. In France there are Christians leading Jews in France to Christ in French. And around the world that’s the fulfillment of what God had intended. But the jump started on the day of Pentecost. He gave the miraculous gift of being able to speak these foreign languages and specific dialects of them right on the spot.

Because those first ones that would needed to hear the gospel would only have heard it in Hebrew if God didn’t intervene and give them a regular skip. So that was temporary and it was rendered in the Greek word in 1st Corinthians 13 is to be rendered entirely unnecessary. It wasn’t necessary after a few years when a lot of Gentiles got saved. They already spoke in a Gentile language and so that’s been the plan for the ages. Sure, if that helps and thank you for that call and we appreciate your calling in.

So hopefully Jack, listening in another location, got that explanation. Then I have a number of CDs where I’ve gone into more lengthy discussions of the verses first by verse. And we have a wonderful book in our Resource Center called New Testament Teaching on Tongues by Merle Unger. Merle Unger is a great writer. He is the author of the Unger’s Bible Dictionary, numerous other scholarly works. He does a exegesis of chapters 12, 13, 14, 1 Corinthians, and nails the coffin shut.

There is no tongues today. What is being done is a gibberish being called tongues. It is a counterfeit. And there’s no person on the earth today that has the biblical gift. If they did, hey, call me up, get the car with me. Let’s go to the mall and try it out. It’ll be assigned to unbelievers. I haven’t met anybody yet that wants to try it out there with the laws. Hopefully that helps a little bit with that explanation. Thank you so much for calling in.

And we have Jean in Miami, Florida calls in and she leaves this off for a question. She says, please remind me of the scripture references for the five crowns that Christians can receive in heaven. Are you ready with your pencil or pen, Jean? The first crown is the crown of a soul and the crown of rejoicing 1 Thessalonians chapter 2 verses 19 and 20. The crown of rejoicing given to somebody who leads someone to Christ. There’s the teacher’s crown, Gene in 1 Peter 5, 4, that is called the crown of glory given to those who teach the word of God to others.

There is the crown of life given to those that are enduring testings and trials in their life and for those that are martyred for their faith in James 2 12 and Revelation 2 verse 10. There is the crown for watching for Christ return and living your life in the expectancy that Christ could come back at any time. 2 Timothy 4 8 talks about the crown of righteousness given to those who love Christ appearing and live their life in that expectation.

And then there’s the crown called the incorruptible crown in 1 Corinthians 9, 27, which is given to those who discipline their bodies and keep their life in order and keep themselves focused and they’re not deterred by anything. They are focused, wanting to win that crown which is compared to the Olympic Games. They’re, as Paul writes to the Corinthians, he says about running in a race, he says that one wins the prize. And so he says that we’re to run the Christian life, not to be safe, but to earn a crown.

And we ought to run like a disciplined athlete in the Olympic Games. I’ve been on the track in Delphi, Greece, where they ran these races. And what a beautiful spot. And I’ve been to Athens and Corinth and Paul writes to them about living their life in such a way that they would be living the life of a disciplined athlete wanting to win the gold or the crown of the called here the crown incorruptible. Hopefully that helps Jean. Thank you for listening down in Miami and we hope that has helped you with that question.

I’m Dr. Englunds. We’re going to have to wind it up for today. Time goes by so quickly. And we want to welcome all those new listeners on WSLM 1220 on the Amdile and Salem, Indiana. God bless you folks. We’ll be with you every day now. Tunison every day, 10-11 Eastern time. Also, we are listeners of Portland. We cannot afford to be on the air. And we trust our listeners to keep us on the air. So it’s your gifts and your prayers that make the miracle of Bibleline happen.

We try to be straight shooting. We don’t find our answers always popular. But we’re not trying to win a popularity contest. We want to have God approve of us as being faithful to His Word. And we’re going to give you a gift. And we’re going to give it out just like the Bible says it whether somebody says that’s wonderful or doesn’t. And I hope you appreciate that candidness and that honesty we try to bring forth here on the program and we need your help.

So if you’d call and give a gift to the data Bible, it would be greatly appreciated. I’m going to be back tomorrow and I hope you’ll join me then. In the meantime, keep looking up because Jesus is coming soon. And again, go to the internet and you can catch these programs again and again. Maybe you’d like to listen to the days over. Call. You’ve been listening to Bibleline, a presentation of Bibleline Ministries of Tampa, Florida. Your donation to Bibleline makes it possible for this ministry to continue in your area.

Be sure to tune in for another edition of Bibleline from Calvary Community Church of Tampa, Florida. Well, I’m Dr. Englinscherman and we had fun again today on Bibleline. Hopefully you’re enjoying the answers. We try to be candid. We try to be straightforward. We try to be honest. We try to give you what the Scriptures teach. Not everybody wants to hear what the Bible says. It tells us in Second Timothy they want to have their ears tickled and they want to hear things that will please their ears rather than the truth.

And so it says they turn away their ears from the truth and they’re turning them to fables or lies. Well, we don’t want to be a part of that. We want to have God say, well done. You spoke it just like I wrote it in the Bible. And that’s what we try to do here at Bible. And if you appreciate that type of candidness and straightforwardness, that’s what Bible is all about. Would you pray for us? And would you help financially support Bible?

We don’t have any other means of support. And we are not paying any salaries. We spend every dime to go right back in the radio, to keep us on the air and to expand outward. and we need your help to be able to do that. So we’re not trying to get your money. And if you don’t give, I believe it’s your loss, because this is an opportunity to really get treasures in heaven. You know, the Bible talks about, as you invest in a ministry that’s doing something for God, God will reward you with the same rewards of those actually doing the ministry.

Paul says that in Philippians 4, 17, He says, not that I desire a gift, but I desire a fruit that may have bound to your account. Can you imagine giving to Paul’s ministry and having the fruit of the Apostle Paul on your tab in heaven when you get rewarded? Whew! I’d love to go back and spend my life just paying the bills for Paul because I’d like to get in on his rewards when I get to heaven. Well I believe that you’ll share equally with us here at Bible and Headquarters when you give to this program because I believe that God is going to reward you equally with us.

And I think my line is a ministry that’s impacting people greatly. People come by that are saved and people come by that are growing. People are coming back that are going into ministry and they tell me the stories. It’s exciting. Got to run, but I’ll be back tomorrow. Join me then. Keep looking up. I’m Dr. Eglinsom saying goodbye. I’ll be back tomorrow. Join me then. Join me then. You’ve been listening to Bibleline, the presentation of Bibleline Ministries of Tampa, Florida.
