Many do that or a study school class or a home study. find that they are wonderful to use to learn the word of God. And I hope you’ll take advantage of the series that we have. Sometimes terminology that is used by Christians typically is not correct. And one of those phrases that we often hear that is not correct when used for salvation is commit your life to Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ. Have you ever heard that phrase? Many people have heard it. Many of angels will use the phrase I’m going to ask you to commit your life to Jesus Christ. This is wrong. It’s not biblical. It’s actually implying works and it implies that a promise that you’re going to make to live your life for Christ in order to be saved. And oftentimes it’s presented in this way that it’s a commitment of your total emotion and will and intellect to God.
Well, this is really a subtle way of asking the person to keep the first commandment. You know, for a while when I first heard this many years ago, I thought to myself, what is wrong with asking a person to commit your life? Well, several things. First of all, the focus is on your life. Salvation is not about us. We can do something to save ourselves or to contribute to our salvation. It’s what God did for us at the cross in Christ that brings about salvation, not what we do for God, which when after we become saved we ought to live for Christ, but we don’t do these things in order to become saved.
So the focus is on Your life, you know the Bible tells us in Romans 5 that were saved by his life It was Jesus who gave his life and died on the cross of Calvary and purchased our salvation by his death and shed blood And it’s his life that was given in order that we might be saved But the focus on our life is obviously the opposite focus from what the Bible teaches about salvation Jesus is the Savior. He says, I am the way, the truth and the life.
And no man can come under the Father except by me. The focus is not on you and your works and your needs. It’s amazing how we get brainwashed throughout our life. I figured out one song that was sung years ago about a young man and his girlfriend died in a car accident and he would sing, I got to be good so I could see my baby in heaven. Well, most people think you have to live a certain way, be good enough to earn your way to heaven, and he had to be good in order to see his girlfriend again in heaven.
It’s totally theologically wrong because obviously none of us are good. We’re all sinners. We’re all in need of a Savior. And Jesus Christ is the only one who is absolutely good or righteous, and he died in our place so that his righteousness could be of course credited to our account but i was reading one night in my bible and this is many years ago now it i was reading in matthew and it says inverse uh… Chapter 22 verse 35 one of them which was a lawyer asking Christ the question tempting him and saying master what is the great commandment in the law and verse 37 of Matthew 22 Jesus said unto him thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy mind Well, love is a commitment.
Love is where you commit to give, to meet the needs of the person being loved. And of course, in the case of our salvation, God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. So we find because God loved us, He gave His Son to meet our need by dying and paying for our sins by His death and shed blood. And when we simply believe or trust in Christ, then we will not perish but will have everlasting life.
But this is really a subtle way of telling somebody to be saved. You have to keep the first commandment. It says in verse 38 here, this is the first and great commandment. These are the words of Christ. And so when you tell somebody to commit their life to Christ, you’re really saying, keep the commandments or at least keep the first commandment. Some of the different evangelistic groups in this country, when they present evangelism, tell you that you must commit your total emotion and will and intellect to God.
Look at this verse and what Jesus said about the first commandment. Now shall love or commit thyself unto the Lord thy God with all your heart that speaks of your emotion, with all your soul that speaks of your will, and with all your mind that speaks of your intellect. Notice it matches exactly. When I read that I said, oh my goodness, look at what a clever devil we’re dealing with, he takes language and he just gives us new terms and we say, isn’t that a nice new way to present Christ?
And people buy into it and they don’t think about the consequences that this is not scriptural or deceptive. The same Everything is true about people telling you in order to be saved you have to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. Now what is interesting is that that is a consequence of getting saved, but that’s not how you get saved. You can tell somebody all day long you need a relationship with Jesus Christ. You need to get a relationship with Jesus Christ and guess what?
It happens at the moment at the instant of the new birth. In other words, when you trust that Jesus Christ died and shed his blood and paid your sin debt and full by his death at the cross, you become born again. And when you become born again, guess what? God becomes your father and you become his son or daughter. And guess what? Immediately you have a relationship. And that relationship is not based upon your works. It’s not based upon you doing anything.
It’s not based upon you maintaining anything. So I’m a child of God and I became a child of God when I trusted Christ as my Savior when I was eighteen. But there’s nothing for me to do to maintain that relationship or to keep that relationship going because it’s something that God initiated. When I was born into my parents’ family, I became their son. And I was my mom and dad’s son whether I behaved or whether I didn’t behave. had nothing to do with my behavior.
I had nothing to do with the whole thing. My parents are the ones that conceived me and I came into this world and I became their son, but my behavior and my deeds had nothing to do with it. And I’m still their son, even though my mom and dad have now gone into eternity with the Lord in heaven. They were both believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. Well when you trust Jesus Christ as Savior, you become God’s son or daughter and it has nothing to do with your behavior.
It has nothing to do with you maintaining anything. Absolutely we are deceived today when people use this phrase and it seems like you have to maintain some kind of thing to keep this relationship going. The relationship is eternal. From the moment you trust Christ, you become a child of God and possess everlasting life and you’ll never perish. You’ll never be cast out. I love Hebrews 13-5. Jesus says, I will never leave you and I will never forsake you. What does that mean?
Never, never, never, never, never, would He ever leave you. In other words, think with me for just a moment. Use your thinking cap, and think if you could ever become lost once you become saved, then you’re saying that Christ will lead me. That he will forsake me. That’s not true. He said, I’ll never leave you and I’ll never forsake you. And if somehow you could become lost and you went to hell, guess what? Jesus would have to go to hell with you.
He said, I will never leave you. I will never forsake you. Isn’t that great news? Once you trust the Lord, you’re safe forever. But Satan wants to make void the plan of salvation by adding works. And he does it by God. by phrases like commit your life to Christ. And really when you look at that passage in Matthew 22 verse 37, Jesus really tells us there, it’s the same as telling somebody to keep the first commandment. Most Christians wouldn’t do that because they’re smart enough to realize we’re not saving the keeping of the commands, but the devil gets you to use terms that would imply the same thing where you commit your total emotion and will and intellect to Christ.
The same as thou shalt love the Lord and thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, with all thy mind. The same thing is saying commit your total emotion and will in an intellect to Christ. It’s the keeping of the law. It’s keeping of works. And to say to somebody that you have to get a relationship with God implies that you do something when God has done it all and when you receive Christ, let me quote John 12 where it says to as many as receive Jesus Christ to them God gave authority to become the sons of God even or to those that believe or trust on the name of the Son of God.
The way you receive Christ is by trusting that He died for you, that He is the Savior who died and shed His blood to pay for your sin and when you You trust him, he becomes saved eternally. I’m Dr. Ankerman. This is Bibleline, and it’s great to be with you. The phone number here is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. And we have a caller from St. Petersburg. We have Wilbert on the line. Wilbert, welcome to Bibleline. Good morning, Dr. Marriages, honored by God.
Well, I just wanted to ask, and even if they started the wrong way or whatever, I just wanted to know was it? Oh, Mary, just honest, my God, I hang up and listen to you. Well the Bible says in Hebrews 13 and 5 that marriage is honorable in all and it’s really talking about of course a legitimate marriage in the sense that obviously a homosexual marriage would be a legitimate God never ever condone that. But if you read Genesis 2 and God established the first marriage you took the man Adam and the woman Eve and he joined them together.
And of course, yes, the Bible does say that God recognizes that. At its honorable, it’s something that God has instituted. He has instituted marriage, he has instituted human government, he has also instituted the Church, the body of Christ, and all those that believe on the Lord Jesus Christ in this age from Pentecost told a rapture are placed into that body. So the answer is yes, all marriages are recognized by God and are honorable and God expects you to live up to that commitment.
Thank you so much for that call. We now have Angela in Knoxville, Tennessee. Angela, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Air. Hi, Dr. Langstrom. This is Paula Park. I was wanting to know, me and my friend are having a lot of things. We’re going through the Bible real good and we’re having a couple questions here that I can’t answer for him that he needs answered. The first one is why did God order the end main killing of babies at such as in Isaiah 13, 15 through 18?
Well are you telling me when God judged a particular nation or people? Right. And the answer is, is so that those false belief systems would not come back to life again. You know, that was unfortunately part of the package. If those children had been raised up, they would be curious about their parents and one to probably live after their religious beliefs and religious lifestyles. And it sounds mighty cruel, but God wanted to rid that. You know, at the flood, God also destroyed the whole world at that time, except for no in his family and that included men, women and children.
Well obviously all but eight people were destroyed in the flood and there’s a day coming again. Obviously the world is again approaching a time like it was in the days of Noah and the Bible says that Christ will come back seven years after the rapture of the Second Coming and all will be destroyed that are unbelievers and of course including children. Well the good thing here. And you can share this with your son is that all children who die that are under the age of accountability will directly go to heaven.
So all those children that was merciful, even though their parents would go to hell because of their false belief system that God was judging, all those children, even though they died physically would be saved. And we’ll see them in heaven one day. Right. That’s what I have been telling him. He just, he still thinks it’s like any mane for the actual death of the children. And also like the women being brought back after conquering a town or city from other villages or towns.
He didn’t understand that either. Well, again, some of these things are difficult for us to understand, but I believe that we We have to trust the Bible is being correct. Certainly it’s correct in every thing that we read about in the area of geography and history and accuracy and in the sciences and God tells the future before it happens and it comes to pass so that we know that his word is true. And Jesus obviously tells us that we need to be able to make that jump to believe things it are difficult or that we can’t understand and trust that he’s going to do right.
I like Genesis 1825 where it says, shall not the God of all the earth do right. He’s going to do the right thing. And that was in the context of God destroying Sodom. And there again, there were men, women and children that were killed when God rained the fire down on Sodom and Gomorrah. And only those that were believers were evacuated. And that was a lot in his family. Again, the children who died would obviously go to heaven. Right, right.
Yeah, that’s what I’ve been telling him, but he’s just having a real hard time because he thought God was omnivolous and I mean it’s just like messing them up on this and I’ve told him I said you have to have faith and he did these things for the right reason. And it really did do to not allow the system that he judged and destroyed to continue. you know if there were some survivors the families that were unbelievers that saw them that survived they would continue to carry on those practices i’m sure they’d want to be like mommy and daddy like the bible says like you know uh…
follow like son and suddenly father uh… they will copy what their fathers do and and those that you know bad habits that people have are passed under their children Exactly. Right. Right. Well, I thank you so much. And Lord bless you for all this work that you have done. And I can’t wait to see you in heaven. Well, wonderful. And God bless you and tell you a sudden high from me. I will. Thank you so much, Dr. Langstrom. Well, bye-bye.
All right. That call was from Knoxville, Tennessee. We have Kerry in Ziffer Hills, Florida. And Kerry, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hi, Pastor Hank. How you doing? Good. My question is about revelation. I was reading that Satan was cast into hell for a thousand years and he’ll be let out for a little bit now at this present day. This hasn’t happened yet. It will happen seven years after the rapture at the Second Coming, Revelation chapter 20 verses 1 through 3.
Talk about Satan being put in the bottomless pit. That’s not hell. And after the thousand years, that bottomless pit I believe is in the heart of the earth. He will be brought up out of the heart of the earth. And Revelation 20 verse 10 says then he is cast into the eternal lake of fire where he will be tormented day and night forever and ever. So ultimately Satan will be cast in hell. But so far he is alive and well.
Hal Lindsey wrote a book a number of years ago. Satan is alive and well on the planet earth. He is still free, still out there running around doing his business. he will be bound up during the thousand-year reign of Christ. When Christ returns, the sudden years after the rapture, he’ll be bound in the bottomless pit, but loosed for just a little season to see many, many people on the earth, and there’ll be one last final attempt by Satan to overthrow Jesus, and he’ll be defeated and cast into the eternal lake of fire.
I’ve always been misled that I’ve always thought that Satan ran hell, and he was the one that did all the torment. I think we all have been taught that, but he’s the worst punished in hell. He’s not the leader or the rumor of hell. The Bible says that he’ll be cast into hell by Jesus, and Jesus obviously is the rumor of hell. Okay. Thank you so much. Thank you. You’re so welcome. Thank you. Wow. The first half hour is just flown and we’ll be coming back for a second half hour.
Again, if you’ve never trusted Christ, would you whisper that prayer, Lord, I am His I don’t understand much about the Bible, but I believe or trust that Jesus died, paid my sin debt and full was buried and rose again from the dead. The moment you trust Him, God saves you forever. And it’s not based upon your actions, your deeds, your… Your Savior, when you trust that Christ died for you. Also, Bibleline is listeners supported. We need your help. It’s the middle of the summer.

for you. I’m Dr. Engvenstrom and it’s great to be with you today. We’re going to go right to the phone lines. We have Aaron in, excuse me, Anonymous in Jackson, ville, Florida and Anonymous. Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning, Dr. Lindstrom. I’ll just ask and I’ll hang up and listen to your answer. I was reading in the book of James last chat talking about if a believer it says hold way and anyone brings them back, you will save their soul from death and many sins will be forgiven.
That almost sounds as if a believer could fall away and be lost and if their souls would be lost. All right. Well, thank you for calling in and James 519 says, brethren, he’s talking to believers. If any of you do error, that means you fall into error from the truth and one of you convert him, let him know that he which converted the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death. And speaking about physical death because the Lord can and sometimes does take a believer home to heaven early.
And it says you’ll hide a multitude of sins. So if you want to get a wayward believer back on track, you might save their life because the Lord might shorten their life. You know, Hezekiah in the Old Testament, because of sin in his life. God told him he was ready to take him home. But Hezekiah prayed and got his life in order. And you know what? God added 15 more years back on his calendar, and Hezekiah lived 15 more years.
Your life might be shortened because of error and sin in your life. And so if someone would be such a good person as to help you get that straightened out, they might save you from dying early and hide a multitude of sins that you would have committed by going in the error of your way and obviously save you the loss of reward that would occur for a believer who’s delinquent. Thank you for that call. We’re now going to go to Gregory down in Miami, Florida and Gregory, welcome to Bible End.
All right, are we back on the air down there? I heard we were off the first half hour. Good morning, Dr. Hank. How are you? Good morning. You back on the air? Yes, yes you are. OK, thank you, very good. Yes, yes. I have two quick questions for you. The first one is a reference to 1st Corinthians chapter 6 or 17. But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit within. Would you use that first as a testimony of the security of the believer because after all the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit cannot be divided because they are one.
When a believer accepts Jesus Christ as his Savior, they become one of the with them according to this verse so would you use that verse as a verse that testify that this is a believer can I use this this salvation I I don’t think it’s the strongest one, because I think that it’s not able to be argued as well as so many others. There’s so many great verses that tell us we can never be lost, so it’s become safe.
It’s a good point, but I think that it’s going to be not as well understood or received by the one that you’re talking to. Versus like the fact that Jesus said he’d never cast you out for any reason, and the fact that he would not lose you in gun 637-39 are obviously the best versus to go to. But it’s a good point, and you can certainly use that as a point for eternal security. The second question was a little difficult because I find out that the word do-loss and Greek is a reference to the relationship that a person has with his master and that identifies our relationship with Jesus Christ because we are his slave.
I heard that the translators of the English version changed the word do-loss which is slave to serve it because it’s you know since slavery has been a the case part of our culture uh… but but in reality uh… a servant can can can quit you know they don’t have to continue working they were for wages and they can quit whereas as a slave uh… has to not have that option so you think it’s an important translation or uh… what do you think it’s a big big deal or i think you’re right on and Obviously it’s a it’s a voluntary submission to be his slave.
Paul said he was a slave or a bond slave. And although he was born free and was a Roman citizen, he chose to be voluntarily a slave for Jesus Christ. And it’s a wonderful picture of how we are to be submissive to Christ if we’re going to be His slave or servant and that God will reward us for our servitude, but we’re saved by what He did for us at the cross. Right, so why do you think modern translate?
What do you think? Well, I think you’re probably right because of slavery in our country, 1611, in that time when slavery was something that was taking place, people probably didn’t want to bring that into the Christian life. But yet at the time of Christ and Paul, that was a degrading term then, but they obviously were proud to say that they were slaves of Jesus Christ. You’re right on. How do you spell the word, by the way? The D-U-L-O-D? Yeah, I believe that’s exactly right.
D-U? No, I think it’s do you I’m not missing the same You can look it up in a concordance is you’re talking about the Greek word and and I’m I’m not too sure that I would spell it right for you Okay Gregory, thank you for calling in from Miami, Florida We have Diane in the land Florida Diane and welcome to Bibleline from the land floor My god honor common law marriages Christian science supposedly is a cult. Could you tell me why and could you tell me where in the Bible it says the gospel of foolishness to those who are perishing?
Alright the last question first is 1 Corinthians 1 18 says that preaching of the cross is foolishness to men that perish. As far as Christian scientists being a cult they deny They deny sin, they deny the deity of Christ, they deny just about everything. They basically say there’s nothing material or physical. We call them metaphysical because they believe that everything is spirit and they don’t believe in death. You name it. They don’t believe it. And there’s definitely a cult.
Mary Baker Eddy started this whole thing and she wrote a book telling you what parts of the Bible you couldn’t believe. So obviously she in a sense took a scissors to the Bible and cut out all the meaningful parts of the Bible. And so there’s definitely a cult. What was that first question? Well, come to Mary, Jeff. This is Gutt, honor, common law marriage. I would imagine if two people enter into a relationship where they’re going to leave father and mother and become one, probably so.
But obviously the Bible always talks about a contractual agreement where you do it obviously where others become witness to it and acknowledge the fact that you’ve done this. And it’s something that God established back in Genesis chapter 2. But the Bible isn’t real clear on that. But I think that if you, as we know in our laws and our land, if you live together commonly as husband and wife, even though you haven’t had the ceremony for I think seven years, then you are considered married.
Seven years. Seven years. Yeah. It depends on the state, correct? Yeah, I think so. every statement in florida has seven years okay okay i appreciate it thank you sir you’re welcome thank you uh… for calling in diane in uh… the land florida we have victory in bredenton florida victor welcome to buy one year on their morning pastor uh… i wanted to follow up With your message on salvation and interpretation of scripture by so many people, in regards to the message on salvation, I’ve got in my hand a track that I picked up off of someone’s distributing them in the parking lot at the supermarket, so I picked it up and I looked it over.
And here I am on one of the pages in regards to salvation. And again, here’s the quotation of scripture, repent then and turn to God. so that your sins may be wiped out, Acts 3, 19. Below that, repentance is not just feeling sorry for our sin. Below that, they should repent and turn to God and prove their repentance by their deeds, Acts 26, 20. And on the other page, opposite, there’s one line here, faith is trusting in Christ. So on one hand, they’re saying, faith is trusting in Jesus.
On the other hand, they’re saying, salvation is by repentance and sorrow for sin side by side on the same two sides of the page. So it’s really supposedly a witness tract with salvation but in fact it’s a witness tract for works on salvation and it’s just so glaring but for someone that doesn’t understand scripture and may read this, they’re led into a whole different salvation that and what’s in scripture? I absolutely agree with you and that’s unfortunate. And of course, the Greek word does not mean for sorrow for sin and it doesn’t mean turning from sin.
It’s metanoia which means a change of mind and that’s what we do when we become saved. I know that John the Baptist asked them to show forth works that would demonstrate that they had changed their mind. But that was because he knew that those religious leaders, the Pharisees, were coming down just to spy on him and didn’t really believe the message at all. So he said, I’m not going to baptize you as they came to be baptized. And he says, unless I really know that you have genuinely trusted the Lord.
So obviously the change of mind occurs and you become saved when you trust Christ. Then if someone else is questioning your salvation, then they might want you to demonstrate something that shows that you are a believer, the fact that you carry a Bible, the fact that you go to church, the fact that you pray, I think is a tele-tale sign. I know I usually, when I eat at a restaurant, even if I’m by myself, I’ll there do it silently, but I’ll dial my head and I’ll pray and thank the Lord for the food.
I’ve had people come over and say, you must be a Christian or you must be a believer because I noticed that you bowed your head in prayer before you ate. And obviously those are signals that we can send out. But those aren’t what save us, but that is, obviously evidence to other people that you have a religious belief at least and then you get a chance to witness to them and explain it further that you are trusting in Christ as the means of your salvation.
See Pastor, because I understand scripture, I can’t feel sore if it was sin until I am filled with the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit convicts me of my offenses and then I come to the Lord and I asked to re-establish my relationship with him and that’s called repentance and the terms of re-establishing my relationship with the Lord. But if I’m unsaved, only the Holy Spirit can convict me of my offenses. So how can I convict myself of my offenses prior to my salvation in my own flesh and then go to the Holy Spirit for my conviction?
I have the cart before the horse. I agree with him. I agree with him. You know, and so I just wanted to, and these tracts are being handed out and so you know, it’s a false message. I won’t say who it is, but I’m sure some of the people that have gotten these, saved people that understand the word. i actually did the second time i thought one of these i wrote these people i’d buy them of their as well as as much as you know as as possible advice and other air and why did them to tune into bible on or the contact pastor lintstrom and he would explain salvation to them so they can they can understand it more clearly before they start printing these things amen you know i i thought i can’t get pretty ology and a bible college of about fifteen
I had almost 200 in my class. And as an assignment, I had them write different track companies and distributors for samples of their track and then to evaluate them. And these young students going into ministry were shocked to find out that 95% of the tracks that are out there available for you to purchase to distribute are bad or wrong and carry a wrong message. message and that was a good wake up for them and I did that on purpose so that they would learn to pay attention to what…
A lot of them aren’t worthy of any of them. I wrote them and I said you need to reexamine your position on salvation. I believe it’s not correct and you need to research it and I wasn’t going to do the whole presentation so I said please contact this ministry, please contact this pastor. They have the material available. Perhaps you need to pray and reconsider your position and that’s why I left it. Number two very quickly, a survey just released, i don’t know who did it i could be born i could not be and uh…
here’s that figure again fifty seven percent of quote unquote immejellicos believe that there is more than one path to heaven to salvation is not a tragedy yeah that that is amazing and that bolt back to which you said after the rapture i don’t believe that this is a country will be emptied out and will be ravaged in terms of the economy and it will be pretty well in place because so many people are the plant right have the wrong doctrine there have a works doctrine they’re not safe and so no there will be a huge exit if they’re back to from this country is that i just don’t i i i based on all the church track that looking at people that i’m speaking to church goers that are continuing in the work salvation i just don’t see it i think that’s a sad thing to say but
it’s scary it’s really scary it is thank you very much after for your time I was raised in church for eighteen years before I became saved, and I didn’t get saved in my church. I got saved in a neighborhood Bible study that my sister invited me to, but I had been confirmed and baptized, homogenized, pasteurized, capsized, and I was headed for help. I never had heard in my church that the only way you could be saved was to trust in the finished work of Christ at the cross that he died and by his death and shed blood purchased our salvation and when we trusted he did that for us God saves us.
We’re going to go now to Chuck in Plant City Florida and Chuck welcome to Bible in Year on the Air. Yes sir, it’s an honor to speak to you Pastor. Well good to have you on the air too Chuck. That’s Ben Mindbodlin and this is for believers who believe the tribes and when they die. Well, we receive our new bodies. We’re in heaven. Well, we recognize our loved ones, the friends, and other parties that we knew us growing up.
Absolutely. Absolutely. How wonderful. You know, 1 Thessalonians chapter 4 verses 13 through 18 deals with this whole issue, and it says in verse 13 that I would not that you would be ignorant brethren of those that have died and what has happened to them. And it talks about how we’re going to be all reunited one day and we’ll all be able to enjoy one another. And the verse 18 concludes it by saying, wherefore comfort one another with these words.
You’re going to see those believers, those loved ones that have gone before you into heaven and you’ll be able to be with them. And we’re comforted now to know that, hey, I’ll see my father or mother or sister or brother that are saved that left before I did. It’s going to be great. Right. Okay. Can you tell me that verse again, please? First Thessalonians chapter 4. Thessalonians verses 13 through 18. Yeah, what? 382. Okay. All right. In the last question, I know you got to call us waiting down, get right to it.
It says in the Bible, will we die? We leave our body and we are present with the Lord. And the question I have on this, do we recognize what’s going on around us or are we in this sleep or do we see the Lord as Savior’s in heaven? That’s the last question I have and I was just wondering if you could give me the feedback. You know, you’ll be not only present with the Lord, but very aware of your circumstances, even in the passage we covered yesterday in the radio program in Luke 16.
We find that there was consciousness immediately upon death and conversation and remembrance and all those things will be true for the believer in heaven. So you won’t know what’s happening back down here on the earth, but obviously you will know what’s going on where you are. I think right. Well, listen, you’re a blessing to everybody who is able to listen to their radio and have I’ve been listening to you for several years, and you turn me on to the Scotfield study system.
And I just want to let everybody know that they can get it. That is one of the best bibles out there on the market today. So thank you very much. Thank you so much for calling in. Have a good day. That was Chuck in Plant City. We have Dave in St. Peter’sburg. They welcome to my blindness kid to have you on board. Yeah, hi, Pastor. I had a call yesterday calling about the Mediterranean Union with Sarkozy was setting up.

It’s right out of Ezekiel 385. That was Libya and Ethiopia slabs Sudan. on isn’t it interesting what very interesting i mean it’s funny people serve better for a look at that it looks like the dog may got wars are about to come very close to starting absolutely amazing and you know i just heard this morning that uh…

obviously uh… the way the world is going to setting up exactly like the bible said it would We’re now going to Robert in St. Augustine, Florida and Robert, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Hey, Pastor. I appreciate your ministry. I listen to whatever opportunity I get. I drive a truck. I got a question on salvation. I’m trying to get a grasp of it because I understand that the Bible says that there’s only one path for salvation that’s due to blood of Jesus Christ.
You know, because he died on the cross for our sins. understand that’s not by all works. I mean, I understand all this, but I’m trying to just understand something here. Say, I’m saying, damn, but hypothetically speaking that a person is saved and they spend their whole life serving the Lord not as far as works goes, but because they love the Lord and all. And there’s something tragic happens in their lives and loss of a young child or something like that.
And they just start to cheer rate from grief and so forth onward. And in the process they start picking up the old habits that they had, drinking corrals and stuff like that, and they die. Where would that position be? Well they’re still saved, still good of heaven, but they’ll suffer the loss of reward that they could have had and of course be embarrassed and think shed some tears at that judgment seat of Christ where we’re going to give an account.
You know, 2 Corinthians 5, 10 says we must all appear, all Christians that is appear before the judgment seat of Christ that everyone may receive the things done in his body according to that he hath done whether it be good or bad. So everybody is going to give an account for how they behaved and what they have done and we might experience the loss of reward and have the Lord look at us and will be ashamed and will experience that regret and of course the loss of reward that we could have had for all eternity.
I say, well, see, the reason I’m having such a problem with this is, to me, it sounds like that. I could say I’m saved and truly believe that I’m saved, but after the newness wears off of salvation that we all feel because we feel that relief of being washed new again and then life starts flooding in all the way to devil does, we just start doing whatever we want and then we end up living the same life that we had, but we could still say, well I’m saved, so I’m all right.
I mean, it just don’t seem like that’s right. I know. But the Lord is going to thank you. He’ll get your attention and obviously he’ll try to get you back on track. Just like a parent with his child, when your child goes astray, what do you do? You have to put them in timeout or give them some kind of punishment and as a result hopefully they get back on track. We have to run. Thank you for that call. We have a lot of other colors still waiting and we’ll have to get them tomorrow.
If you haven’t trusted Christ, just Lord, I am a sinner, but I trust Jesus right now is death and shed, but is the means of my salvation. Also, again, let me say as we close the program, we do need your help. It’s a lean time here in the summer if you could give a gift today to Bible and call and give one by credit card or call and ask for an envelope to be sent. And let me thank you in advance.
