Of course, we know the Lord is coming back soon and maybe we won’t even have a chance. The Lord might come this year. Who knows? We should be looking for Christ to come back.

The Bible tells us 23 times in the Gospel, watch for His coming. And so we should be watching. You’re delinquent as a believer if you’re not looking for Christ’s return. So we all ought to be looking and watching for Christ to come back. Let me recommend some of the things in our Resource Center. We have a wonderful little booklet. We have many questions about divorce and remarriage. And this one is a small pamphlet for $7. by Chuck Swendall called divorce and remarriage.

Divorce and remarriage. The fairest treatment I’ve ever seen on the topic. And if you are struggling in those areas, you might want to call and order that. I forget how many pages, but it’s a nice little booklet for $7 and we’ll ship that out to you. Also, we have our CDs of not only the Sunday sermons, but of also the many teachings I’ve done over. quite a few years, and we have 40 different teachings of 10 to 12 hours of teaching each.

The Book of Revelation is 12 hours, the Holy Spirit is 12 hours, and we have Daniel 10 hours, but we have the Gospel of John, which turned out to be 20 hours of teaching. Colin and Choir and our operators can help you. You can also go online and take a look at our Resource Center, and you might want to get get these. Many of them now are now being offered on DVD as well as CD. That means you can actually view, watch and listen while the presentation is given.

And we go verse by verse. And the book of Hebrews is one that causes a lot of people trouble. And we go verse by verse. We don’t hedge on the difficult verses. We explain them, head on. And I think you’ll find it’ll just open that book up and make it alive to you. Romans is one of the great books of the New Testament that every believer ought to become familiar with. And we have the full teaching verse 5 verse on the book of Romans available also on CD.

Plus we have common theories. There are two that I recommend. That’s the Jameson Foset Brown 3-volume common theory. I think it retails for about 150. We have it for a gift of 100 to Bible-eyed. We also have the Jay Vernon McGee 5-volume series. a wonderful set beautifully bound. It retails for about 200. We have it also for a gift of 100 to Bibleline. We have Lewis Berry Shafer’s systematic theology. I think it retails for about 180. We also have that for a gift of 100 to Bibleline.

Plus the Schofield Bible in the 1909-1917 editions, which is the one you want to get. The old is better than the new in this figure to case. and it’s really great. We also have the Scofield Bible in Spanish. Lots of things. Call and ask for a resource you can be sent to you. We’ll mail it out to you. Free of charge and you can take a look where you can go to the website BibleLineMinistries.org. And you’ll be able to click on the online bookstore and you’ll visit our Resource Center.

Wouldn’t that be great? Anyway, good to be with you. Thanks for tuning in. It’s Friday. Again, I hope you attend church someplace if you’re in driving distance, you’re welcome to come out and visit with us. And a week from this Sunday, it will be our third Sunday. That’ll be a great day to come by because we always have a dinner on our third Sunday right after the worship service. And so you can come and join us for the service at 1030.

Be my guest, bring your family, your appetite, your Bible, and join us for the service and then stay for the lunch, the dinner that will follow right after. And of course, this third Sunday in August, we’re having a baptism. If you have not been baptized, since you’ve been saved, you really ought to, as a believer, being obedient to Christ’s commands. It doesn’t save you, but as a believer, there’s always a blessing whenever you’re obedient. And it’s a picture, a testimony of how you’re washed of your sin by the blood of Christ.

The water doesn’t take away your sin. It’s merely symbolic. But the blood of Christ is what washes away our sin. Revelation 1 5 says unto him that loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood. What a great verse that is. In any case, that will be at three o’clock on the afternoon of the third Sunday, the 17th of August. And if you’d like to call in and get your name on the list, that would be great.

We’ll get instructions to you. And I’d be honored to be able to be the one to baptize you. So if you are in driving distance, we’d love to have you become a part of this baptism on, and you can invite as many family and friends as you want. They could take pictures and make a wonderful photographic record of the event. And I think you’ll find it a beautiful scene on a small lake, green grass right down to the water’s edge, sandy bottom and shade trees.

Oh, it’s going to be a wonderful event. We hope you’ll join us if you have not yet been water baptized. Our phone lines are lighting up here and we have already four or five colors waiting. If you’d like to call in that number is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to turn right now on our Bibles for a few minutes to Acts chapter 2. We’re going to take a look at Acts 2, 38, a verse that is really probably one of those that is maligned the most in the New Testament.

Peter here on the day of Pentecost had preached and he had told his audience who were really the leadership of Israel that had been responsible for crucifying Christ. Christ that they had made a big estate. They had actually crucified the real Messiah and how Christ had now come back to the dead to prove and demonstrate that he was indeed the Messiah and therefore they needed to change their mind. Verse 36 is the conclusion of Peter’s message and it says here, therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made that same Jesus, which one it says here whom you have crucified.

So the one they had crucified, that very one that they had nailed of the cross, God have made him both Lord and Christ. That means he is God and he is the Messiah. Well they heard this message and it really did impact them. It says when they heard this verse 37 of Acts 2, they were pricked in their heart and they said unto Peter into the rest of the apostles Men and brethren, what shall we do? And then Peter said unto them repent and be baptized.

Now here we have to do some defining of terms because the English word repent doesn’t mean the same thing as the Greek word translated repent. The Greek word, the New Testament was written in Greek, is meta noya. M-E-T-A, meta means change, noya, N-O-I-A means mind, the two words together, meta noya mean a change of mind. And what Peter is saying, you need to change your mind about who Jesus Christ is. This has nothing to do with turning from sin.

Amazingly, we have so many who have been taught wrong because the English word repent does mean to turn from sin. It was poorly translated from the Greek to English should have never happened 400 years ago in the King James translation, but it did. Now we have to deal with the aftermath. But if you believe that you have to turn from your sin to be saved, that is a human work. And obviously contrary to what all the Bible teaches. The Bible teaches that we come just as we are.

That Christ died for sinners. In fact in Romans 5.8 it actually reads that while we were yet in the state or act of committing sins Christ died for us and so we simply come to Him and trust Him and then He gives us power after we become saved to have victory over sin. What is really interesting in the Old testament the word repent occurs 43 times, 37 of the 43 times, it is God who repents, not men. So if you believe that repent means to turn from sin, you’ve got a serious theological problem.

You’ve got a holy sinless righteous God who’s not capable of committing sin, turning from his sin left and right. That’s right. 87 out of the 43 times it is God who repents only six times is it man who does the repenting and guess what? That if you do the math 37 divided by 43 is 86% of the time It’s God who does the repenting it cannot mean turn from sin or you’ve got a holy God a righteous God a sinless God who’s not capable of sinning turning from his sin left and right.

This doesn’t make any sense. People are not doing their homework, and the Greek word is metanoi. It means a change of mind. So Peter is saying, change your mind. They had just crucified Jesus. They thought he was an imposter, a fraud, a counterfeit. He was a charlatan, a deceiver. And they nailed him to the cross and thought they had done God a favor by getting rid of him. Now Jesus comes back from the dead. from the dead, Peter says, you have to recognize here, you guys made a big mistake.

And they said, what do we do? And Peter says, repent. Of course, the Greek word means change your mind. So they needed to realize the administrative state that Jesus Christ was indeed the Savior. Then it says be baptized. Again, people! They have a tendency to have their minds lock up when they see the word baptize. They automatically think water. When they see the word baptize, it’s like the brain goes water, water, water, water, water, water. Let me just say this.

There are 10 different baptisms taught in the New Testament, and most of them don’t involve any liquid at all. There’s the baptism of fire. That’s not water and not involving liquid. There’s the baptism of the Holy Spirit. doesn’t involve any water or any liquid and so on and so on and the majority of them don’t involve a liquid. And so the word baptize simply means to cleanse or to wash. The Greek word is baptizo and it was brought into the English language and made the English word baptize.

It means to cleanse or to wash. And if you read carefully what it says here next to thirty-eight it says be baptized every one of you. Notice it doesn’t say in the nearest lake or pond or baptismal pool. No, it doesn’t say that. It says be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. This is the baptism it’s talking about. It’s a cleansing, a washing of your sin that occurs based upon the authority of the name of Jesus Christ, which is a name the Bible says is exalted above every name in the universe.

Jesus Christ is God. You have to remember that. He is God who took on human flesh and it is through his name that you become saved. It is the authority that he left as God, that whosoever would believe on Christ would not perish but have everlasting life. Peter says in Acts 4, 12, neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other name under heaven. Give it among men whereby we must be saved. Acts 10, 43, Peter says to Jesus or Yeshua, give all the prophets with us, that through his name, who’s to ever believe within him should receive the remission of their sins.

And we could go on and on and on. This is a cleansing of washing that occurs when you trust in Christ’s Savior. It’s not talking about water. So in order to be saved, you have to change your mind about who Christ is and what He accomplished for you on the cross. And being washed or cleansed when you trust Him as your only hope of heaven, the authority that He gave was that all that would believe on Him would receive the gift of eternal life.

Somebody illustrated it as a check drawn on the bank of heaven in the amount of eternal life and is made out to whosoever believeth. That could be you. It could be me. And at the bottom it’s signed by Jesus Christ. In His name, in His authority, you can receive that gift of eternal life and be assured of going to heaven whenever you die. Well, we’re going to go ahead and turn to the phone call as we got every line lined up here.

the Bible and Dr. Englundstrom and the phone number is 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to go first to Michigan and we have John in Grand Rapids and John welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Thank you for taking my call. I believe you’re in the past. I’ve heard you say you’re a fan of MR. DeHahn. Yes I am. Okay. I recently came across a real old book it has. It’s called The Jew in Palestine and prophecy. I believe it was written in 1950 and probably motivated by Israel becoming a nation in 1948.

I was wondering if you thought the teaching in that book was still good today. I think it is. I haven’t read it in many, many years. I have all of his books in my library. I’ve read them all. I believe from what I can recall that he was right on target. I’d have to go back and re-look at it. But he was certainly a great, great Bible teacher and found the Radio Bible class. I remember as a young believer, I was listening to Dr.

Amardhan. Okay, and one other quick question for you. The 1967, 6 day war, was there any Bible prophecy that that may have fulfilled or? Well, I think in the sense that they would get Jerusalem back, you know, the Jewish people not only would return to the land, but Jerusalem would become their capital city again, you know in Zechariah 2, I think it’s verse 10 and 11 God says that he would choose Jerusalem Again and when Christ would come back he would come back to that city So the Jews going back would go back to that city and it says in the last days in In Zechariah 14 verse 2 in particular it says that God would gather all nations The world is the world of the world against Jerusalem to battle.

And of course it implies and says there that Israel would be in the land and when the nations of the world come against Jerusalem. So we’re in the last days today we see the nations of the world today focused in the Middle East and Israel’s right in the middle of all this turmoil. So certainly I believe it does fulfill that prophecy. Up until 1967 they only had a portion of Jerusalem. It was a divided city. they won the Six-Day War, all of Jerusalem became Israel’s.

Okay, thank you for answering that and thanks your ministry. Okay, thank you John, John up in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Good morning, Dr. Hank, how are you today? Good. Always a pleasure to talk to you and share your wisdom. I’ve never heard you comment on the companion Bible. Could you give us your opinion on that? That kind of a little scenario for you. There’s a married couple. One is raptured out and that was a believer and the other was an unbeliever.

And after that happened, the other, the other, the other, the other, the other. decided to read the Bible. But during the tribulation they decided to take the mark of the beast so they could survive, so they could buy and sell, but they didn’t. They didn’t really give allegiance to the beast. They just took the mark so they could survive. And then before they died, they trusted Christ. Would they give the heavens? And I’ll hang up and listen to your answers.

Thank you. That’s a little bit complicated, but actually if they received the mark of the beast they wouldn’t end up trusting the Lord of Savior. The Bible tells us that those who received the mark apparently have been so indoctrinated, blinded, made captive by the devil or the antichrist that they don’t wind up ever recovering themselves out of that. Those received the mark don’t get saved at all. So if the person received the mark, they would probably never become a believer.

But if they did become a believer in the tribulation period, then that couple would be able to see each other again in heaven. But it’s scary because once the rapture happens, Satan’s delusion will be strong, and he will obviously keep most of the world captive. Millions will get saved, but for the most part, part the world is going to be lost. When Christ comes back, He will kill and destroy all the unbelievers on the face of the earth. So unbelievers, if the rapture were to happen today, have seven more years to trust the Lord.

If they don’t, then it’s curtains. It’s too late. And that’s the shame. I really haven’t paid much attention to the companion Bible. We’re talking there about notes just as we talk about notes in the Scofield, the Ryrie, and other study Bibles. And I haven’t got a real opinion to give you their date. Sorry about that. But hopefully that answered your question. We’re now going to go to the phone lines again and we’re going to this time go to Tom in Richmond, Virginia and Tom.

Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. morning and i have a comment about uh… rc sprull i haven’t been told even with you about his uh… eschatology being office far as being a replacement geologist in a he gave about the clearest A definition of repentance that I’ve heard otherwise than you. I mean he had it, just like the Bible talks. It’s just a change of mind. It’s not a turning from sin. He was…. he was very clear about that but i just wonder what your comment would be about you know guys who did they get something that uh…

they don’t even have salvation part right so i’ll just by helping with your comment on that well obviously that the there are levels of uh… importance and Obviously salvation is the most important doctrine. If they don’t get salvation right, then nothing else falls into place. And I’m glad to hear that about his presentation on repentance because so many get it wrong and they don’t look up the Greek word. I’m pleased to hear that about RC Sproul. And all I can say is that that’s a higher importance than that of the eschatology.

Thank you for coming in Tom in Richmond, Virginia. Now we have Lawrence in Hollywood, Florida. And Lawrence, let’s see here. Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes, thanks. Yeah. Good morning. Good morning. I’d like to use the police explain according to the preacher, Brad. Okay, well, first of all, none of these passages are going to apply because the rapture is not in the Old Testament. The church age is not in the Old Testament. Ephesians chapter 3 says this was hidden and not revealed until after Israel rejected their Messiah.

You’ll notice they’re in the early part of Christ’s ministry. He was offering the kingdom, which So, let’s… which is the millennium, and then we find that about halfway through the Book of Matthew he’s rejected, and then he announces he’s going to build his church, and he’s out of here. So, it says in verse 21 here of Proverbs, the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it. But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and that’s talking about what will happen at the second coming, seven years after the rapture, when the saved will remain and live in to the Millennial Kingdom, but the wicked, as I just said it earlier, all the unbelievers on the face of the earth are going to be destroyed at the Second Coming.

I’m Dr. Englundstrom. We’re at the end of the first half hour, and thank you, Lawrence, for that question. I hope everybody listening has trusted Christ, and Christ alone as their only means of salvation, and I hope you’ll stay with us for the second half hour. We now have a caller from Toronto, Canada and we’re going to talk to Claude and Claude welcome to Bible Eye-Biden you are on the air. I’d like to say that, for instance, after questions about Paul and the hang-up and you have to ask this question. The Bible says that on his way Paul had some men with him. So I’d like to know what happened to those men. Also, says the Prophet Ananias was sent to the house they’re always staying and he prayed for you, received a spike and immediately…

Alright, well thank you Claude. On the first one I don’t know what group of men you’re talking about because Paul had some companions on his journeys and they weren’t always the same men they kind of changed around. We have Paul and Barnabas for a while, then we have Paul and Silas and it was Paul and Silas that were at Philippi that said when they were in jail at night to the flipping jailer when he asked what must we do to be saved.

Paul and Silas said, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Christ and thou shalt be saved.” So not too sure that I understand that question to tell you what men we were talking about that were with Paul. But also on the other question, yeah, Ananias actually led Paul to Christ. He didn’t get saved on the Damascus Road. We often are mistaught that Paul got saved on the road to Damascus and he was going there to throw Christians into jail and bind them and bring them back to Jerusalem for trial and so on.

And he got interrupted by the Lord, but it wasn’t until three days later that Ananias led him to Christ. And then it says he went and was baptized. And I believe that was by immersion. It was a water baptism. Again, signifying how he had been washed of his sins by the blood of Christ. The water was merely symbolic, and obviously Paul taught water baptism should be one of two ordinances left with the church. In 1 Corinthians you read in chapter 1 about water baptism, chapter 11 you read about Lord Supper.

Those are the two only ordinances given to the church that are to be observed by believers as acts of of obedience but never as a means of salvation. So hopefully that helps Claude and we are glad that you have called in and we’re now going to talk to Angel in St. Petersburg. Angel, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hey Anka, how you doing? Good. I have three questions and I’m sure they’re responsible very quick. One of them is kind of a goofy question, but I was in the Bible studies of the day and teaching the class on evangelism.

And the question came up about why lies. An example was, you know, if I actually look sad, if like, no honey, you look great. Now, is that God observing that as an actual lie or just standing up being a righteous judge and a discerning of the hearts? That’s just the first question. Is he talking about, are white lies okay? Yeah, I mean, I mean, just, you know, if my wife asks me, do I look at it? And they say, yeah, honey, but like honey, no, you look great.

I mean, is God looking at that as a sin? Well, I think you’re probably going to get along better with your wife if you say that. Well, exactly. But you know, I think you need to be able to, you know, obviously phrase things to their complimentary without sometimes being offensive with what the truth can sometimes do. But the Lord understands, I think, but we’re not the lie for sure. So I think telling her she looks great doesn’t necessarily reflect anything about her weight, but that was nice of you to confess that you felt that you were obviously a little bit overweight.

My other two questions is another question that came up. I got a buddy of mine that’s in there. He’s not decided on Calvinism, Art Minnie, and however you put it, but his father-in-law is uh… at this uh… at the hyper-calculus he he he he he’s in with some things here but you know how they believe as far as a good accountability that they don’t hope that they think that if that they do it actually never have the chosen and he would still go to hell if he died at six months or a year two years and i just remember in scripture i want to say somewhere in roman where the way to accountability uh…

you have anything to support that I don’t have anything in Romans, but you know, my verse that I go to is in the last chapter of the book of Jonah. And there we have God sparing Nineveh, and he tells Jonah that there were… Nineveh was a city of apparently over a million people, and he said there were 120,000 children that didn’t know the left hand from the right hand. So apparently I take it that knowing your left hand from your right hand is an indicator as to when you’ve reached the age of accountability, which I think is probably pretty young, but allows for each child to develop.

differently. So it’s not a particular year and month that it occurs, but each child as they mentally develop differently. When they could tell their left hand for their right hand, then I believe they become accountable. And children under that age, we believe will go to heaven. Even as David lost a seven day old baby in 2 Samuel 1223, he says the baby would not return to him, but he said he would go to be with that baby and we know David going to heaven.

So he was going to see that child. child again in heaven. Okay, and that’s okay. So that’s the law of the day. Right, 2nd Samuel 1223 and then the last verse of the book of Jonah. Okay, can you say that chapter again? I’m sorry. Jonah chapter 4, there are only four chapters and the very last verse of the book of Jonah tells you about the left hand from the right hand. Okay, and now I remember hearing you talk about, you know, as far as there’s not to be women in heaven.

No, I didn’t say there wouldn’t be women in heaven. Let me rephrase that. I’m sorry. There’ll be the women here better save those who are having just not as a woman Didn’t say that either, but it’s okay There’s that there’s no distinction as far as a position that men won’t be above women Women won’t be above men and neither will people that have been slaves be under those that were not slaves and and so there’s no distinction whether you’re male or female or slave or a free man uh…

you uh… where you’re a Jew or a gentile you’re all going to be equal in heaven okay so uh… those could be gender though you’re a my mom will be there as a woman yes i believe so okay alright alright makes sense though those are my questions alright you’re welcome to thank you for the call uh… i think i would do it alright and uh… we are now going to go to larry in camp before that larry welcome to buy one a good morning i have a question for you inspected current dance when paul is speaking about his phone in the flesh right after he said that he said he had an adversary of the devil to buffer him why wouldn’t it fall in the flesh be the adversary of the devil i’ll hang up and wait for an answer thank you okay i believe it is that that was the uh…

uh… uh… obviously uh… god giving him an infirmity which i believe was probably an eye problem that paul had that seems to be indicated very strongly in the book of Galatians that he had problem with his eyesight and uh… most of his books therefore dictated that when he wrote the book of relations he was so passionate he personally wrote that when he talks about how large the letters were as he wrote that because of the eye problem that he uh…

but uh… that in front of the i think was the uh… thing that god would use your let me just read the verses here you’ve given that God gave to me a thought in the flesh uh… the messenger satan to buffet me so apparently god allowed that satan to flick his body to keep him humble uh… so we find that satan was involved in the process but obviously uh… paul freight three times to be healed and god said no three times and then paul said well thank god i’m sick it’s not always got as well for us to be well and hopefully that helps and thank you for the call and we’re now going to go to uh…

mac in my ami mac welcome to bible and you’re on the air that’s how you do it uh… i was i was online and i was looking at your school field bible but one of them said it’s thirty bible and one of them just said regular uh… uh… that that’s all because of who publishes it uh… somebody who’s not oxford who has the copyrights can publish the older editions because they’re not under copyright anymore, but they cannot call it the Schofield Study Bible they have to say study Bible Okay, so which the one that I need I’m trying to get the one that you were recommended on the air and which one is that and all of the all the ones we have are the ones that are recommend We don’t have anything in our resource center that we don’t recommend Okay, so the one that’s for a hundred dollars.

That’s the one and everything in it. You got it. That’s a really nice one. That’s the leather and it’s thumb index. It’s a beautiful genuine leather. That’ll last your lifetime. Okay. Have a look. Someone gave me the Thompson chain reference study Bible. You ever heard about that one? I sure do. I have it in my library, but I don’t like it because the chain is flawed. You know, it takes you all over the place. The chain in the skill field Bible keeps you right on track doctrinally.

But boy, and I can notice that people that use the Thompson chain oftentimes are confused about a lot of doctrines because they use that Thompson chain and it’s just not very consistent. Oh, okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. The original Scofil came out in 1909. In 1917 they made a few changes where they added dates in the center columnmology and a few different things. Very slight things. Those are the good ones.

That’s what we stock. Everything you see on our Resource Center is one of those good Bibles that we recommend. Okay, one more question. You say you have another book that defines every word of the Bible. That would be the concordance. The strongest concordance has every word in the entire Bible. Every thee, every dowry, and every better be shelved. And you can look it up and it will partially quote every verse in the Bible or that particular word that you’re looking for occurs.

And by a simple number code system will refer you if it’s a New Testament word to the Greek dictionary by number or to the Hebrew dictionary if it’s an old testament word by number and you can look up the original Hebrew or Greek word what it meant how it’s translated and it’s marvelous and it allows you to take advantage of a scholarship of 200 Hebrew Greek scholars that put that work together. Okay and that’s just the regular concordance that you have or what?

It’s not a regular one it’s the strongest concordance. There’s several concordances out on the market. There’s the crudens concordance. Some people tease and say that’s for crude Christians. There’s the youngs concordance. Some teas and say that’s for young Christians. And then there’s the strongs concordance which we tease and say it’s for strong Christians. But we have the strongs. That’s the one I recommend. Okay. All right. And you have all that in your stock, right? Yes we do. Okay. All right.

Thank you very much. You’re very welcome. We are now going to go to the phone lines again and we have Cheryl and she’s in Lexington, Indiana and Cheryl, welcome to Bible Life. Yes, Dr. Manon. Are you hearing us in Lexington on the radio? Yes, Lexington, Indiana. Wonderful. Indiana, not Kentucky. I’m sorry, Indiana. Yeah, okay. First of all, I would like to say welcome to Southern Indiana and it’s wonderful to here you are such a Bible scholar and my question is your loved ones that have passed on.

Is it possible that they can visit you in your dreams? So if I would just hang up and let you answer. Okay and the answer is no. That would be nice and comforting to think that they could but they cannot come back here and they obviously that would bring sorrow to heaven if they came involved with the things that are happening here in this earth and see the sins and problems that are going on. But there is one thing that believers in heaven can learn about and that is when somebody down here becomes saved, it’s announced in heaven.

And I think they’re anxiously awaiting, hoping to hear of loved ones and friends and family members that get saved, though that they know that they’ll get to see them in heaven with them. It’s in Luke 15 verse 10. And I misread this verse so many years. I tell you, I can’t believe I misread it. But most people do. It says that there’s joy in the presence of the angels in heaven when one sinner changes his mind and trusts Christ as Savior.

And I always used to read that, that angels were rejoicing and jumping up and down when somebody here on the earth got saved. But it doesn’t say that. It says there’s joy in the presence of the angels. So angels are spectators, but the ones that do the rejoicing are believers. And we know in Revelation 3.5, when somebody becomes a believer, their name is announced in heaven. And it’s made known that that person is coming to heaven one day, and the believers rejoice and are excited.

And so they can learn at least that much. But otherwise, they’re shielded, I think, from the things of this world. We’ll get to see them again, and I know that they know that we’re coming. If you’re a believer and your loved one is a believer already in heaven, they know you’re coming and they’re excited about it. It won’t be long as time here on the earth grinds away for the 70 or more years that we get on this earth.

But time and heaven is moving rather quickly and I know that we’ll shortly be there to be with them and what a great day that will be when we get a chance to be together again. Well, we’re excited about being on the air up there in Indiana and we’re glad that you’re hearing us in Lexington, Indiana. And sorry to say Kentucky, that was in the state. Anyway, we’re glad to have all of you listening today. If you want to call in, the phone number is 1-800.

576-3771. We have lots and lots of offer questions. I think it will take a couple real quick here. Don, in Miami, says, my wife is a Catholic. If she believes in Jesus, is she saved even though she worships Mary in all the canonized saints? And all, and other than the weekly mass, she only prays the rosary. and has no personal relationship with the father through Jesus. Well, I think you’ve answered your own question. It appears that your wife is not saved.

What happens here in the terminology is important. Every Roman Catholic will say they believe in Jesus because that’s not the good word to use. The Greek word translated believe is postuo, P-I-S-T-E-U-O in the Greek postuo And the best English word that defines it is trust. And if you ask a Roman Catholic, do you believe in Jesus? They’ll all say, yeah, of course, just like they would believe in George Washington or Abraham Lincoln. But if you ask a Roman Catholic, have you trusted Christ as your only means of going to heaven?

They’ll generally say no, because the Catholic Church teaches that you need the Church to get you to heaven. And so they trust in the Roman Catholic Church for their salvation and not Jesus. So that’s the good question to ask and that’s where you need to focus. The Bible really is saying in every place where you see the word believe trust. And the word believe in English can mean mental ascent to historical facts. So if you ascend to the historical facts about Christ, that doesn’t mean that you’re saved.

I remember as a little boy, I learned about Christ that I had no problem with the fact that Christ was born in Bethlehem, born of a virgin. I had no problem with the fact that he went to the cross, that he died on the cross, that he died to pay for sin on the cross, that he was buried, that he rose again from the dead. But I had never heard and understood that I had to trust that Jesus Christ did that for me and that’s how I would be saved.

I like to say it this way. Christ died, that’s history, but Christ died for me, that’s salvation. In other words, you can acknowledge the history about Christ and that he lived and died and so on. But unless you personally trust him as your savior, as the one who died to pay for your sins, you’ll not be saved. You have a caller from the Grand Bahamas and Brian welcome to Bibleline from the Bahamas. Yeah. Are you in the Bahamas right now?

I’m in the Bahamas right now. And you’re hearing us on the station out of Miami? Out of Miami. Yeah. Wonderful. Well, glad to have you on board with us Brian. What can we do for you? I want to make a comment concerning what Dr. Hank was thinking about this morning on Repentance. Go ahead. He was saying on Repentance and why the Christian world is so confused on why they believe that we have to be forgiven of our sins. But it’s more than that because the scripture said that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself not impugneth our sense against us right he already done with the sin issue all these are impugneth on us is what have we done with his son he wants us to receive his son come to him for life not on the issue of sins because he already taken care of our

sin issue on Calvary’s cross you know and when we come to him for his life then he he give us his life and the life of Christ is the only way that we deal with our acts of sin. He gives his spirit within us to be obedient to his words and to eliminate the acts of sin. Well I am a hundred percent agreement with you Brian, that’s exactly right. We come to the Savior who is already paid for all of our sin debt, past, present and future at the cross, and when we trust him as the one who did that, God then gives us his righteousness.

We have Christ then, and because we have Christ, we have life. It says in 1 John 5, 12, he that has the Son has life, and he that has not the Son of God has not life. So I have no problem with that at all. I think that’s exactly right on. And one more thing, Dr. Hank, I want you to explain the difference between law and grace, because I feel the Christian world is, you know, they’re bound because they’re mingling law with grace.

And any, any, we are supposed to be living in grace, but they still bringing on law mingled with grace so they none apply the cost. The word the cost, they don’t, you know, show, they, they am not living by faith, you know, and that’s the meaning of the truth. walk of Christianity with his fate, hope and love. Could you please explain the different things? Absolutely. Under the law, you were required to do certain things and you were told, now should not do this or not do this or do that or the other.

But under grace, we serve from the heart. And so the believer is free to choose to live for the Lord or not lived from the Lord and it’s a choice and it’s not because we are damned if we don’t, we’re saved if we trust Christ forever, period. And yes, we ought to live from the heart to serve him out of gratitude and thankfulness for all that he’s done. Brian, thank you so much. I’m out of time. I’d love to continue to talk with you.

We’re glad that we’re reaching through the Bahamas on the station out of Miami. I’m Dr. Inklister. I hope you’ve enjoyed the broadcast today. I hope everybody is listening and is trusting Christ as their Savior. He is the only way to be saved. You can’t be saved by your works. You are saved by the death and shed blood of Jesus.
