Please call and get your name on the list and you can call our 800 number after the program and get the details on the baptism that will occur at 3 o’clock in the afternoon.
On the third Sunday of the month, the 17th of August and we hope that you’ll take advantage of that. Every believer ought to be water baptized. to be saved. It’s a testimony of how your cleanse of your sin by the blood of Christ. Only the blood of Christ could wash away your sin and the water is symbolic. It’s a picture of what happens when you get saved, your cleanse of your sin by the blood of Jesus Christ. We hope that you’ll take advantage of this if you are baptized as a child, if you are baptized before your salvation, then obviously you need to be water baptized because that That doesn’t count.
It can’t be a testimony of your faith in Christ if you’ve done it before you had faith in Christ. Does it make any sense? So Paulus will be glad to include you. Also don’t forget you can check on our Israel trip for next February. If the word hasn’t taken us out before then we plan to leave on the 23rd of February and come back March the 4th. We’ll have a great time. I’m going to be trip member 16 for me.
I’ll be there with you. And we’ll study the Bible from morning until night and actually right at the locations where everything is taking place. We’ll open the scriptures, take a look at what the Bible says that I’ll tell you. It makes the Bible come alive. You can’t explain it to somebody. But when you come back, you visualize Jerusalem. You visualize Mount Calvary. You visualize the Tomb of Christ and you can just get a grip on the geography and just visualize the whole land of Israel from one end to the other.
We’re going to have a good time. I hope you’ll consider going and I hope that the Lord allows us that opportunity. If he hasn’t come back this year to snatch us out, we’ll be going February the 23rd. If you go to my website, BibleLineMinistries.org, and if you click on the Bibleline News, just about the… This is the Bibleline news. Click on that. Then it says Israel, Thor, brochure. Click on that. And you’ll be able to print it out, read it and study it.
But if you would like us to mail you one, if you’ll call, it gives you a address. We’ll mail that out to you for your charge and you can make your decision about the trip to Israel. I’d love to have you go. Our phone number here, Bibleline is 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. And we hope that you’ll give us a call. If you have a question, we’ll try to answer it on the air. And if not, you can just sit back and listen, or you can leave a question off air.
And as we can get to them, we have a lot of them here. We’ve been calling behind on trying to get the offer your questions answered. We’ve had so many live callers, but we’ll try to get some of them done each day. We are going to talk about the Bible. If you have your Bible, get it open and you can take a look at what we are going to be talking about. Can a person who has been saved lose his salvation?
Well, this question seems to come up again and again and maybe you have had this question as well. We know that the phrase eternal security doesn’t occur in the Bible, but phrases that are equivalent to eternal security do, phrases like everlasting life, eternal life, eternal salvation, eternal inheritance, eternal redemption, etc., occurred dozens and dozens and times throughout the Bible. security is not a separate doctrine from that of eternal life or eternal salvation. It is one and the same. In fact, the only salvation that God offers to mankind is eternal.
You see it in Psalm 316, for God still loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. God doesn’t offer probation, he offers salvation. God does not offer a trial period, but rather offers to completely save and gives eternal life to any and everyone who responds to his invitation to trust Jesus Christ as his or her only hope of reaching heaven. Consider the alternative that you could lose your salvation.
By virtue of the fact that you could lose it would mean that keeping it would depend upon your efforts and your actions and your obedience and your behavior to keep it. In other words, a person who says he can lose his salvation for whatever reason is in reality saying that he is trusting in human works to save you. Look at Ephesians 2 8 and 9. It says, 4 by grace, mercy, unmerited favor, or you save through faith in Jesus Christ, and that none of yourselves is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast.
Salvation is not of works, and therefore a person who is trusting in his works is not and will not be saved. What are we saying? Well, plainly stated, a person who says he can lose his salvation is probably not saved. Or he is thoroughly confused and lacks assurance of his salvation. If you’re not saved forever, then you’re not saved. Let me say that again. If you’re not saved forever, then you’re not saved. If you’re not saved forever, then you are not saved.
In other words, salvation by definition is to be delivered, to be rescued. It is not a process, it is something that happens at the moment you believe and is possessed forever and after. And if you are not saved forever, then you are not saved. Because then it is something of self of works and you cannot be saved by works. Salvation, as taught in Bible is a present possession, received at the time of the New Birth or acceptance of Christ as one’s personal Savior.
And that person, according to the Bible, is kept secure or eternal by the very power of God. Consider it verses like John 1028 where Christ says, No one is able to pluck you out of his hand. Where in John 1028 Christ says, you would never perish. Never perish. What about John 637? Where Jesus says, he would never cast out anyone who has trusted him as his Savior for any reason. Let me quote the verse. All that the Father giveth me shall come to me and Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
Well, Jesus meant exactly that. There is no circumstance or instance that would ever cause you to be cast out if you once trust Christ as your Savior and become saved. Well some people have said to me, oh ok, Christ won’t cast me out, but I can cast myself out. Well, guess what? That’s impossible. Read with me, John 637. Jesus said, this is the Father’s will. God, excuse me, this is verse 39. John 639, this is the Father’s will, which has sent me.
The devol of which hath given me, I should lose none, which should raise them up again the last day. Jesus promises that he would never lose anyone who has come to him for his salvation, and that this is the Father’s will. So if anyone were ever lost after they became saved, then Jesus Christ would be a liar because he said in John 639 that he would not lose one, not one. If just one person in all of history were ever lost after they became saved, Christ would be a liar.
And the word of God of course could not be trusted. I am so glad that the Bible makes it very clear that at the moment you believe you receive and possess everlasting life. You know, my favorite verse, well, it’s hard for me to say that because every verse the Bible is my favorite. But first John 5, 13, I particularly love on this topic because it says there that you could know that you have eternal life. It’s in writing. I call it the written guarantee.
things have I written them to you that believe on the name of the Son of God that you may know KNOW that you have HAVE present tense you possess right now eternal life you can know you have you can know you have you can know you have it doesn’t say hope or guess or perhaps or maybe or think so. You can actually know that you have eternal life. And if you have eternal life today, what kind of life will it be tomorrow?
It’ll still be eternal. What about next week? It’ll still be eternal. How about a year from now? It’ll still be eternal. How about a hundred years from now? It’s still gonna be eternal. How about a million years from now? It’ll still be eternal. In other words, if you have eternal life at the moment you believe, you’ll have it tomorrow next week, next year, ten years from now, a hundred years from now, A million years from now, a billion years from now, if it’s eternal, it’s forever.
And you possess it at the moment you believe in forever thereafter. This is good news. And this is what the Bible proclaims. And you know, I’m so glad that I discovered this in 18. I finally found out the few messages of the Bible that you’re saved eternally. And you know, it’s so important for you to understand this because if you believe you you lose it, I am in doubt of your salvation because you are generally saying that you are having to do something to maintain your salvation which is works.
If you think that there is something that you can do or not do between now and death that will determine whether you are saved or not, then you are probably not saved because you are trusting in your works and it makes you the Savior, not Christ, and you won’t be saved at all. That’s scary. I plead for your soul that you would understand the difference here because you really need to know that eternal life is something that was purchased by God at a great price.
It cost the life and the death and the shed blood of Christ to purchase your salvation. He gives you eternal life as a gift that he has purchased, and it’s nothing to do with what you will do except you simply receive it. But if you had to do something to keep it, then it would no longer be a gift. It would be something that you’ve earned or deserved because of your works, and obviously, of the Bible you would not be saved at all.
So, if you believe you can lose it, you probably aren’t saved. This is a major, major, major doctrine. If you don’t get this right, you don’t go to heaven. And that’s obviously something you don’t want to mess up on. The Bible says you can’t save yourself. It’s not what you do for God that saves you. It’s what God did for you in Christ that saves you. And Jesus paid it all. I love that hymn. Jesus paid it all. All to him I owe sin had left a crimson stain, but he washed it as wide as no He’s the one that saved you.
He’s the one that died for you. He’s the one that shed his blood He’s the one that was buried in rose again from the dead when you trust him God saved you you can do it right now wherever you might be you could say Lord I don’t understand a whole lot, but I trust Jesus right now as my savior and and the moment you trust Christ and his death and shed blood the fact that he was buried and came back again from the dead is the only means of your salvation God saves you eternally.
I’m Dr. Englunds from we’re gonna go to the phone lines we have collars calling in from all over and we’d love to hear from you you’re certainly welcome to call us at 1-800-576-3771 and we’ll try to take your call in the order they receive we’re gonna go first to Larry and Larry is in Saint Petersburg and Larry welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air Yes, I dr. Ag yeah, the devil was thrown into why is he allowed to be released again after the thousand years?
What’s what’s the purpose of that I believe it’s to demonstrate? the wickedness of the human heart you know the thousand year reign of Christ Christ begins with only believers. All unbelievers are slain by Christ at his second coming and only believers enter in, but they will still be in their mortal bodies. These will be people who get saved after the rapture during the tribulation period and they survive all the judgments and wars and Armageddon and they live into that thousand-year period in their mortal bodies and they will have children.
their children will grow up and marry and have children. And each of these children will have a nature inherited from Adam by birth, and they will need to know Christ as their Savior. And what is amazing to me is apparently that with the earth filled with the knowledge of the Lord, with Christ visibly ruling on the planet earth from Jerusalem, that there will appear apparently by the end of that thousand year period, be millions of people that will never have trusted Christ as their Savior.
And you would never know it because it’s kind of hidden under the radar, but when Satan is listed at the very end, he is able to round these people up and form an army, and he comes against Jerusalem in his last battle. And Christ, of course, very easily destroys him with the power that comes right out of his mouth. And at that point, Satan is then finally cast into hell, as it says in Revelation 20 verse and the devil that the seed them was cast into the lake of fire uh…
and where he’ll be tormented day and night forever never so i believe it’s to expose the fact that even with ideal conditions east a lot of comedian flip wilson and he would always say the devil made me do it well during that thousand-year period nobody’s gonna be able to say the devil made me do it because he won’t be present he’ll be bound in the bottom of the and not able to be the seed people but uh… we find that in spite of that the wickedness of the human heart is such and i love your mind seventy nine the heart is the sequel above all things and desperately wicked and so the human heart is such that men will still reject christ when he’s visibly ruling right on the earth that’s what doctor you’re welcome very thank you for that call and we’re now going to go to
uh… kurtis and tampa and kurtis welcome to buy what you’re on the earth How are you today? Good. I have kind of an old testament to a new testament converging a question. I asked to do a pre-trib post-trib called last week. He gave me Ephesians 3. Was it Ephesians 3 then? Was this the mystery? The mystery of the church age? Is that what’s the mystery? Yeah, that was the mystery. The fact that God would turn to the Gentiles and and he would include the Jew and the Gentile in one body called the Body of Christ.
Okay. So the church age then there was really no profit. The blank period. Well it’s not revealed yet. So in other words if you were reading the Old Testament the prophets saw the first coming they saw the second coming but they didn’t see the what happened in the interval between the middle right because that was that church and then the revelations. You could go back and take a look and say wow you know if you could only have known what we know today.
Exactly. See it. Play it. Now down to the real question. The first verse that’s Lony and 416 when it mentions four specific things. The Lord himself descends from heaven. That was of course the prophecy of his coming withlvl in thearnaev ZupATURES srfNAssuming where he and I separate ourselves. The dead and Christ shall rise first. He sees that at the end of the seven year period, I see it as absent from the body, present with the Lord. And it was also when Jesus descended into the heart of the earth when he set the captives free.
From that point on, it’s absent from the body, present with the Lord. So therefore the dead did rise first, that’s them. And then the first Thessalonians 4, 17. then we which are alive remain and shall be caught up together with them and the clouds to meet the Lord in the air there’s a rapture that at least my understanding of my correct well pretty good i would I would differ a little bit with you. But basically the rapture there and what’s going to take place at the return of Christ.
There is the resurrection of the church age saints. The Old Testament saints are resurrected at the Second Coming. That’s described in Revelation 20 verses 1 through 6. And we’re a special group. When we, the bride of Christ, the church is caught up, will be, his bride will become married to Christ during that seven-year tribulation period to come back with him at the second coming. That’s when he raises the Old Testament saints and the tribulation saints will get their resurrection bodies lives that have died.
So basically when Christ comes back, everybody who’s lived during this age from Pentecost until the rapture. Those that have already died will get their resurrection bodies first and then in a twinkling of an eye we will be caught up and be transformed into our bodies on the way up and we’ll meet them in the air and so shall we ever be with Lord. And then we’re going to of course come back with him seven years later at the second coming when he will resurrect the Old Testament saints and the tribulation saints.
One of the verses that I had found and it doesn’t disconnect, it’s having to do a global warming, Luke 21 25. It says that the raging of the water and the tides will make people even die in faint because they won’t know what to do about it. And I thought that was kind of a neat revelation that applies to today’s headline. Absolutely. Amen. Well, thank you very much always. You’re welcome. Thank you Curtis. And we’re living close. These events happening now with Russia going into Georgia and the Georgians pleading for us to go in and help them.
I’m telling you, we are, can you imagine if we go in and help we’ll be firing real bullets at Russian soldiers? Wow. Wow, so we’re coming to the time when the world conflict will occur and I’m just glad we’re leaving before that happens and The ones that are left behind will will deal with it says wars and rumors of wars look at how many Wars and rumors of wars we got going on right now. It seems like We’re just seeing something new in the headlines every day.
We now have Matthew in spring Hill Florida and Matthew welcome to my blind you’re on on the other side. Hey, Hank, what does the Bible have to say about sharing the gospel with someone who’s in toxic? Well, I don’t know that it says anything about doing that, but of course they need to hear the gospel, but when they’re intoxicated, they probably aren’t going to comprehend what you have to say. So I think I would recommend you wait until they sober up unless you don’t have any other opportunity, but they’re just not going to comprehend much.
I’ve tried to talk to a bunch of drunks and they don’t get much out of what you’re saying. Yes, sir. Well, do you think when Jesus was with the, you know, when he was able to keep doing what he was doing, did you think he was actually spending time with people while they were drunk or just while they were feasting and getting drunk? You know what I’m saying? I think he was obviously one of the most wanting to reach the lost and he was accused of being around prostitutes and of course around people who drank and so on.
But I don’t think that they were intoxicated necessarily while they were talking. I think they would drink with a meal and they may have gotten intoxicated, Christ that ever would have violated that so he I don’t believe Christ ever got drunk. But basically, you know, if you’re going to witness to somebody you need to choose all the ideal conditions. I’m going to have to run. We are at the end of the first half hour. It’s hard to believe. But I hope you’re enjoying and we’re going to do a second half hour.
Again Bibleline is in the summer and we’re falling a little bit short here. We could sure use your help if you want to help Bibleline call and give a gift by credit card over the phone or call it as for an envelope to be sent and we’ll mail you an envelope with our address on it. You can mail your gift into Bible. I didn’t help us get through the month of August and get through the summer. Thank God for all of you who do give and we praise the Lord for you and we thank you for your faithfulness in giving the Bible.
We’re going to take a break. We’ll come right back and we’re going to do a second half hour of Dr. Englundstrom. So stay with me. I’ll be right back in just a moment. Don’t go away Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771 That’s 1-800-576-3771 Well, it’s great to be with you. This is Monday. I’m Dr. Englunds from we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida From our studios here at the Calvary Community Church Good to hear from you that call in and we know that we’re reaching out all over We had a call last week from the Grand Bahamas from Ontario, Canada, from all over the states.
And we know that many of our callers are calling in because they listen on the Internet. And they are not able to catch us on a live broadcast. But we’re grateful that we can be on where we are on many stations, on the radio here in America. And we trust that God will continue to allow us to be on all those stations and even expand out further. Again, it requires your help. We hate to talk about money, but the only way we are supported is by the giving of our people who listen.
And so God has raised up people just like you who enjoy the program. Would like to see it continue and be a blessing persuasive to them, but to others. And so they pray for and they give to Bible. You can give a gift to Bibleline and you can do that by calling in on our 800 number and doing that by credit card over the phone. And if you want, you can call us for an envelope to be sent with our address on it and you can mail your gift in.
But there’s different ways and of course you can give out our online bookstore. There’s a place there to give to Bibleline and I hope that you’ll join us here and be be a partner with us in accomplishing this great task. We are excited about a trip to Israel and this will be a very nice trip. The brochures, we can mail those out this week so if you’ll give us your address, we’ll mail that out or you can look at it on the internet.
If you go to BibleLineMinistries.org, click on Bibleline News just above the camera on the homepage and when you click on that it will say Israel tour brochure, click on that and you will be able to read the brochure and print it out on your printer but if you like to have a nice printed out copy from the printer you will be able to send you one if you willEMP you will call and give us your address. If you have a question you are always welcome to call by the line and you can leave it off there or get on the air with us.
We are live between 10 o’clock and 11 o’clock Eastern Standard Time and we invite you to call during that time to get up on the air with us and we hope you will. We’re going to be joining the stations now that have been on break and do a second half hour of Bible ends. We’re going to stay tuned. Tell your friends about the internet science so they can catch it at a different time of day, whenever they like, as all of these programs stay in our time for about two years.
So join us now for the second half hour of Bible and right now. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break and it’s great to be with you. It’s Monday. We look forward to being with you every day, Monday through Friday as we come to you live from our studios right here in Tampa, Florida at the Calvary Community Church.
We’d love to have you come by. Our resource centers open every day till about 4.30. Come on by and say hi. If you want, you can come on a worship day and this coming Sunday would be a great day for you to come and visit with us. If you drive a distance, it would be especially good for you because you can stay for lunch. You can stay for dinner. We have a 1030 service and come bring your appetite, your family, your Bible and join us for that 1030 service and stay for the lunch and enjoy some great home cooked food and some great fellowship and that will be this Sunday the 17th and we’re also having a baptism at three o’clock in the afternoon at a lake nearby here our by the line headquarters.
If you have not been water baptized, I would be delighted to baptize you. Maybe you don’t have a church home. Maybe you don’t have a church that does immerse believers. That means to put you fully under the water as the New Testament teaches. And so we’d be happy to do that. You can call and get your name on the list and get the information from our operators and we’ll be baptizing and making a day come to the 1030 service, come then for the dinner and then stay and hang out with us for a little bit as we then we’ll go toward the baptismal site around two and at three we’ll have the baptism, bring your family friends, bring your cameras and we’ll have a great time at a beautiful site, grassy lawn under nice shade trees, looking at the lake a nice sandy bottom will go right out, it’s gradual
slope and we’ve never lost anybody. So we’ll have a great time and it’s a great way of giving testimony to how you’ve been saved and cleansed of your sin by the blood of Jesus Christ. We’re going to go to Walter in Miami and Walter, welcome to Bimaline. Yes, Dr. Hank? Yes, you’re on the air. Okay, yes. I thank you for taking my call and also I have a comment just to add to your answer that who gave the gentleman they call about three calls ago about Satan being released after a thousand years.
Yes sir. I agree with what you said because it does show that simple nature of humanity but I believe also that God would be an unjust God to let Satan and not those people that were born during the Linear Range. So I believe also that he’s released to tempt them. Okay, well, I think you’re saying fair is fair, then they need to get their chance to have Satan get involved. But what’s interesting there is that they’re already lost. They’re already, because of the wickedness of the human heart, rejected or turned down Christ when he’s living.
and visibly before them on the face of the earth here. And Satan’s simply able to round them up into an army to come against Jesus. But definitely, Satan will get one last final opportunity. And you pose an interesting point there, Walter. Thank you so much. OK, and thank you. And keep up the good work, Gavin. All right. Bye bye, Jim. That was Walter down in Miami. And we’re now going to go to Carl in Tampa, Florida. carol welcome to bible and you’re on the earth after i was wondering last night i was reading uh…
i usually find the kind of boring that is the What you really have here is you have two genealogies, one in Matthew that traces Joseph all the way back to King David and back to Abraham and that Jesus would be of the Kingly line and Joseph being of the King line could pass on the airship to the throne as the Messiah would sit as King over the earth. on the airship to the throne as the Messiah would sit as king over Israel one day.
So in order to be king he had to be of that lineage. And of course when the wise men came in chapter 2 of Matthew it says, where is he that is born king of the Jews? So they knew that he would come as a king. And so therefore he had to be of the king of the line of the lineage of David who is of course the king that God promised that of his seed the Messiah would one day come and sit and rule on the earth.
But as far as the flesh is concerned, Mary also was related back to King David. And if you read Luke 3 and the genealogy there, you’ll find that David had two sons, Solomon and another son, Nathan. And if you’ll notice the genealogy carefully, the one in Luke takes it from David through Nathan down on On Mary’s side, Mary was also related to King David and of the lineage of David. As pertaining to the flesh, his body was related back to King David, but not through Joseph.
But Joseph could pass on the airship to the throne. The two people, the only two people on the planet, could have been the parents of Jesus were Mary and Joseph and God put them both together. I appreciate that. Let me ask you, did you give me some back up? I’m just one of you. I like Adrian very, very much. He’s been a great Bible teacher and a great mentor to many. Unfortunately, the guy that follows him every day seems to mess up the gospel and have you invite Jesus into your heart and do other things to be saved.
but Adrian, a wonderful, wonderful man of God, and we surely miss him. He’s in heaven today as he recently passed away. And some of the greats have left us here recently. Thank you so much for that call. We’re now going to go to Bobby in Bradenton, Florida. And Bobby, welcome to Bibleline Your On The Air. Oh, thank you. I enjoy you so much. My daughter and I have drawn a blank on a birth here that we do like to like and about all we can think of this morning is of a sound mind and i cannot think of where that is in the bible well you probably talking about uh…
timothy about the holy spirit is a bit obleya gives us here to be sort of a sound mind it’s crazy as today that people are tributing the craziness of all the spirit that can’t be the whole spirit because uh… these people go crazy in the bible You’re gonna have a sound mind spirit of peace. I’ll give you the exact reference, but it’s thank you in Second Timothy I believe the second Timothy chapter 1 verse 7 forgot it That given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind Yes, yes first.
What’s that second? I’m gonna be a high one seven one seven. Thank you so very much. Welcome Bobby and continue to listen. Oh I’ll do that every day. Beautiful. I’m thinking of. Thank you. All right. Second to me. All right. We’re now going to go to Bernard in Tampa, Florida and Bernard. Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hi. My question is simply this. I hear a lot of people talk about being covered been undercover and and think that they can not get find it on the in the bible where you have to be undercover i thought that i thought by she was a covering so could you elaborate on that by a little you know a lot of teaching is man-made uh…
but but basically talks about uh… you know you being under God’s protection and if you go outside of the in umbrella of his protection uh… then you’re getting yourself in trouble It says over in the book of Jude, keep yourself in the love of God. Now how are you going to do that? That means do the things that God wants you to do, hang with the people that are doing what God wants them to do and keep your life pure.
And you’re going to be right there where you need to be where God is going to be in his love and his protection. But if you step outside that and you’re hanging with people that are evil and people that are ungodly and you can get yourself in trouble probably and the Bible says in Psalms 1, a blessed is the man that does not walk. He doesn’t stand with the sinners and the scornful and doesn’t sit down with these people and become part of them.
So you have to obviously draw a line in the sand and say, I need to hang with the right kind of people and I need to be doing the right kind of things in my life and when you do that you are in a sense you get your bases covered. covered. It’s not what I thought it was then. No, I think, well, when we’re hearing it, they sometimes is misleading and convoluted, but that’s what the Bible teaches. Like, yeah, really misleading people because of all the people on them, the government by the blood of Christ, was all covered by the blood of Christ.
Salvation, absolutely. It’s only by the blood and the blood alone. Again, people are using non-biblical terms and concepts that are kind of slippery. They’re not defined very well. You can really get yourself confused when you kind of follow all that kind of stuff. You just need to be in your Bible and you’ll be fine. Yes, thank you. You have a great day. You too now. Thank you for calling in. We’re now going to go to Herbie. Herbie is in Miami.
Herbie, welcome to Bibleline. Yes, happen. Yes, thank you. Thank you. I want to ask you a question because it’s been a very puzzle to me and I’ve heard people explain it in different ways. But this has really been a puzzle to me. As a Christian believer and you pray to God through prayer, is it wrong for you to make the repetition of prayer unto God or just repeat it one time and go on if you didn’t say anything? Well, you know, Jesus warned about Repetitions Prayer and I think the whole point was that the the heathen would have these prayers.
The Roman Catholics do it with the rosary. They just say the same prayer over and over and over again. And so in order to keep track they have the rosary which I think is equivalent of the Chinese abacus. They just kind of keep track of the numbers by sliding the beads. But God said that don’t do that. It’s really a conversation. But yet in Luke 18, you can continue to bring a topic back up to the Lord until it’s answered because it fills the story there that we need to keep on keeping on in prayer and asking until we get the right answer.
Of course, we need to be careful. We don’t pray for something that’s not in God’s will. We might get it and we don’t want that. But definitely you can ask the Lord. If you this loss you want to get them saved, pray for them every day. But to say a repetitious prayer, you know, and I think children we teach them to do that, and they have a little prayer that they say at the meal time and you do the same when every day till they learn it.
But we need to grow beyond childhood and be able to just talk to the Lord and say thank you Lord for your goodness and how you provided again today a fresh for my needs and give Thanks. What about for healing? And the same thing, if you are sick and you need to be healed, keep on praying. And again, we’ve brought this up many times. It’s not always God’s will for you to be well. And so sometimes you might have to say thank you Lord for this illness.
I know you have a reason for it. And Paul was made ill to keep him humble. This is about ten or twelve different reasons for illness. You know the blind man in John chapter nine, the disciples wanted to point their fingers and they said, why is this man blind? Did his parents sin or did he sin and they wanted to put the finger on somebody and Jesus said neither. None of that. He says this man was born blind for the glory of God that Christ might heal him and get the glory.
And this man is obviously a special man that we’ll read about and talk about forever that God had allowed him to be blind from birth so Christ could heal him and they could see that Jesus was God and flesh who could bring sight to the blind. Nobody else could do that. Right. Okay. Thank you that answer my question. Beautiful. Thank you for your call and we’re now going to go to Annie in Miami, Florida and Annie. Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.
Okay. Go ahead Annie. You’re on the air. Hello. Hi there. Hi there, listen to the radio because it’s a delay. Yeah, I was… Hi, good morning, how are you? Good, turn your radio down. Okay, I’m going in another part of the house. Okay. I want to ask a question. Something is troubling me. At my church, when we take up the office, there’s a prayer play that we believe in God for houses, for land, for finding money, for paying off bills, and so on and so forth.
And I refuse to pray that prayer. And I want to know, is that scriptural? because how can I pay an esco for something that I already have? Well, there’s nothing in the Bible that gives a prayer like that at all, and that’s purely a man-made prayer that they have you pray in your church apparently, but not at all. We’re to give from the heart as an expression of our love to the Lord for what He has given to us.
He gave His life for us at the cross, and we’ve become so rich in Christ. We’ve been given a home in heaven, the forgiveness of sins. We’ve become born again, and we have Him as our Heavenly Father. We can go to the Lord day and night and so on and But there’s nothing no prayer of that nature in the Bible that you can find that’s just purely a custom that your church has developed and is Having you pray But I might be in this old place.
I refuse to pray it. I might be in this obedient not to pray it No, I don’t think if you do not feel comfortable with it. I wouldn’t pray it either I feel selfish to play for I got two or three cars I got a house I feel selfish playing and asking God for that very good I think you’re probably very correct about that okay and thanks Lane enjoy you listen to you very much thank you Annie any in Miami and we’re now gonna go to David and Palm River Florida and David welcome to by blind here on here.
Hey, what’s going on here? Dr. Hagg. Can you hear me? I hope you can hear me. Hi, how are you? Okay, uh, we’re working on Bible prophecy in the news last night with Joe Bank-Grewring and he had to get picture on last night in the mizzler. Are you familiar with him? Except because I’m not a superhero, but I heard that name, yeah. Okay, he was saying last night he had pictures that the UN has, uh, is in the process a a completing project in Babylon at 105 acre projects, 22 buildings, and they were going to move from New York to there.
And I have never seen anything like that, read anything like that, one or two, you know, I think about that. No, I’ve never heard that, and I don’t think that’s true. It may be, but ancient Babylon was destroyed. If you read Isaiah 13, God said it would be destroyed and never rebuilt again. I believe that’s exactly where it lays. Nebuchadnezzar, of course, was king of Babylon, and that was quite a remarkable city in his time, but the Bible said it would be destroyed and never rebuilt, and I think Isaiah 13 is still applying today that it will never be ever rebuilt.
Now we know that King Hussein, when he was in power there in Iraq, wanted to become another Nebuchadnezzar and he put pictures or statues, pictures of statues of Nebuchadnezzar next to his picture and he was attempting to rebuild Babylon as a tourist attraction but it was never, never intended to be a large commercial city again as it once was in the past and that’s what I think that these people are dreaming about as they look at prophecy and They try to see the word Babylon and they don’t realize that the word Babylon did refer to an ancient city, but now it’s a broader thing in prophecy where it includes the concepts, the political and religious system of ancient Babylon and also the one-world language of ancient Babylon will be repeated in the end days and we see all that today.
Right. Yeah, he had pictures and I never heard any about you. That was supposedly 105 or 82 buildings and everything. And I didn’t even know the unit was based in New York to begin with. But things like that, Bob. I don’t give that an incredible lead all. I would forget that. Okay. Thank you so much. A lot of these people have done that. I had a person that had been over there. We even when when who’s saying was rebuilding it as a the tourist attraction he said it was pitiful really it was not you know it’s it’s still lies and ruins and nobody has really inhabited is never becoming viable city again and won’t i don’t believe it will at all so now we’re going to go to Matthew in spring hill and Matthew welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air hey and just a quick note the previous caller the building he was talking about
is actually a u.s. embassy that’s being built on the Tigris on the edge of the Tigris and that’s in Iraq. And it is an deposit. My question is… How would you arrive with John? Well, obviously it’s talking about their iniquity and obviously God hates sin. He loves sinners and would love to have somebody become saved. But those who work iniquity and the greatest iniquity really is that of rejecting Christ. If you tie that with Matthew 7, verse 22 and 23, we find those that we’re trying to be saved by works and not by faith in Christ.
Christ said, depart from me, ye that work iniquity. So the greatest sin, the impartable sin, is that of rejection of Christ. And I believe that’s probably where it’s going, that God so loved the world. But if you reject Christ, then you’ve committed that impartable sin and you’ll be cast into the eternal lake of fire and you’ll never be forgiven. That’s the one sin that cannot be forgiven. If you die without Christ, if you reject the only provision God has made for sin, then you’ll never be saved at all.
I hope that helps a little bit. Sure. So you would say that the workers of iniquity are people who are referring to Christ rejectors. Yeah, they’re Christ rejectors. Sure. Sure. In that name, thanks. Okay. Thank you for calling in and thanks for the tip off on the embassy being built. It has nothing to do with the UN and getting that straight. We have Dave now in Palm Harbor and Dave welcome to Bibleline your On The Earth. Hi, I just want to let you know I’m kind of naive to the Bible.
My grandma just sent me a Bible a little bit ago and she sent me some past tears that she to read and I’ve been reading them and I got to Romans and it says very rarely will anyone die for a rent anyone might cost. Well you have to read on though because what is talking about is that Jesus Christ died for us who are ungodly and the verse 8 says God commended his love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.
So somebody might be willing to give their life to save somebody who is a good person, but to die for somebody who is a rotten criminal bum, and the Bible really describes all of us in that condition. We’re all sinners, all deserving of going to hell. The fact that Christ would die for us tells us how rich and wonderful his love is that he would be willing to leave heaven, come to the earth and die to pay for our sins.
So I think she’s trying to get you to trust Christ. Have you ever trusted Christ as your Savior Dave? Well, I have like in a kind of an formal way like to myself and through some of the… That’s the only way to do it really is because it’s between you and God when you… When you trust that Jesus died for you and when you see yourself as a sinner as we all are, we’ve all come short of God’s glory and we’ve all done things wrong and you trust that He made the full payment for your sin.
Chapter 5 verse 1 of Romans says that He justifies us. were justified by faith and we therefore have peace with God as a result of trusting him and according to Romans 5 we receive the free gift then of eternal life. Yes sir, that’s one of my favorite passages because I read that before I got to 5’7 and I actually have read all of Romans and I’m still trying to inform myself and get closer to Christ and I want to do that.
Well if you were to die would you go to heaven? Or you don’t know? Well I have faith in Christ. Well according to God for me I’m across. If you’ve done that, then according to the Bible, whose whoever believe within him possesses or has everlasting life. So according to the Bible, you have everlasting life as a result of trusting Christ. And if you have everlasting life, it’s everlasting and you’ll have it forever. So therefore, you ought to conclude that you’re going to go to heaven.
Um I’m trying to reach Christ and God myself. Sometimes I find it hard. Sure it is. AndDIT you’re talking now about the Christian life. Once you trust Christ, you have Christ. And I would recommend you read that passage in 1 John that we talked about earlier in especially chapter 5 verse 10, 11, 12 and 13 where it says you can actually know that you have eternal life. And that if you have believed on Christ, you have Christ. and therefore you have life.
And if you have a trusted Christ, you don’t have Christ and you don’t have life. We’re at the end of the program. Stay on the line, Dave. I’ll talk to you after the show here. But I’m going to have to wind it down. We have to run. But we’ll be back again tomorrow. I hope you’ll join us on Bibleline.
