It’ll be for February 23, 2009. If the Lord doesn’t snatch us out this year we’re We’re going to plan to go. It’ll be trip number 16 for me and we’ll be learning the Bible all day long. And we’re going to try to do as many radio programs as we can from over there and broadcast them back here to the state. So if you can’t go, we’ll kind of give you an update on what’s going on and what we’re seeing and what we’re doing every day.

It will be a Bibleline from Israel and from Egypt and from Jordan and from a lot on the Red Sea. A lot of a great thing. Call and just ask and I will send you the brochure on the Israel trip. We need to get a deposit commitment by October 1st if possible because the airlines don’t guarantee to save the seats for me on the planes if we wait beyond that. You don’t have to pay all of your money by that time, but you do have to make the deposit and say, hey, I’m going to go.

We hope you’ll go with me and it ought to be a great time. Also something else very exciting coming up is September 11th, 9-11. We’re going to have Gershan Solomon here and he will be here in person at 7 p.m. on 9-11. Gershan Solomon lives in Jerusalem. He’s the head of the Temple Mount Faithful. He’s the fellow that has been cutting the stones for the Third Temple. We believe that right after the Rapture, a temple will be rebuilt according to Bible prophecy and sacrifices will be offered again and we know according to 2 Thessalonians that the Antichrist will walk into that temple and proclaim the The Bible is the head of the Temple Mount Faithful.

He is the fellow that has been cutting the stones for the third temple. We believe that right after the Rapture a temple will be rebuilt according to Bible prophecy and sacrifices will be offered again and we know according to 2 Thessalonians that the Antichrist will walk into that temple and proclaim the that he is God and he will stop the sacrifices and place his image and demand to be worshiped and claim that he is God himself. It is incredible, but if you come on September 11th at 7 PM, you might actually be seeing, hearing, shaking hands with the very men who will be building the temple that Jesus Christ will come back to that the Antichrist will desecrate first before he comes back.

And it’s exciting. I was there in February in Israel and our whole group stood, I believe, exactly where the ancient temple will be rebuilt. And we are living in exciting times because everything is ready. We saw the menorah. It’s 92 pounds of solid gold. Do you know how much that would be worth? One solid piece of seven branch candlestick, the menorah for the temple, it’s ready. And so is so many other things that we really saw with our eyes when we were there.

And it’s exciting to know that that means we’ve got to be close. The preparations have been made and the stones have been cut. And Gershaun Solomon will be here at our Bible and Headquarters on 9-11 at 7 p.m. We invite you to come and it will be a wonderful, wonderful experience. We also want you to know that the Bible is on every day, Monday through Friday, and it’s live out of Tampa here from our studios at the Calvary Community Church where I’ve passed her.

And you can catch these programs in archive. You can order copies of them from us, whatever you like, but hopefully you’re enjoying the study. We’re going to get into the Bible for a few minutes and then we’re going to take our callers. If you’d like to call in, the phone number is 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. We’d love to have you join us for the radio show and call in with your questions and if you can’t hold on the line you can leave it as an offer and we’ll try to get to that We are going to turn in our Bibles today to 1 Thessalonians chapter 1 and this is on in the part of your Bible where all the T-books are together and in alphabetical order.

1 Thessalonians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Timothy and Titus, all 5 T-books are together and an alphabetical order that makes it easy for you to find. 1 Thessalonians chapter 1. We know here that the Apostle Paul talks about how this group of people that got saved at the Sola Nica were really on the ball for the Lord. But what I wanted to point out here today is a verse that gets used wrongly all the time. There’s a great deal of false teaching today about repentance.

The Greek word is meta noya. Mehta means change, noia, noia means mine, the two words together, metanoia means a change of mind. And yet the English word repent doesn’t mean the same thing. This was a bad translation back in 1611. The English word, if you look it up, means to turn from sin or sorrow for sin. But the Greek word doesn’t mean that at all. It means simply a change of mind, and when you trust Christ, you do change your mind.

If you’ll remember what I’m going to say next, you’ll get the doctrine of repentance down forever. You can repent without believing, but you cannot believe without repenting. What does that mean? You can repent or change your mind is what the Greek word means, without trusting Christ as your Savior. You can change your mind about the Bible, about Christ, about what He did, about who He is, and about salvation, but not ever trust Christ. But you cannot believe without repenting.

That means you cannot trust Christ without having changed your mind in the process. And that’s why you don’t have to use the word repent when you teach salvation because it’s included in saving faith. I happen to be using the Schofield Bible which we recommend so much. And the note in the Schofield Bible on Repentance written a hundred years ago. He tells us that saving faith includes and implies that change of mind which is called repentance. Why? Because when you believe you change your mind from whatever you were previously trusting in to trusting in Christ.

So you do repent. But it certainly does not mean to turn from sin. But what I’m amazed at is that the sloppy scholarship of so many and they’ll turn to 1 Thessalonians chapter 1. and they’ll read verse 9, and although the word repent does not occur anywhere here, they say this is an example of repentance. Let me just read the verse, and then we’re going to talk about it, and we’re going to talk about rightly dividing the word of truth.

It says in verse 9, the first Thessalonians, for they themselves show of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how you turn to God from idols to serve the living and true God. And they say, see, they turn from their idols to the living God. And that’s repentance. They turn from sin. And this is not talking about that at all. In fact, you find earlier it already tells us that these people at the time like it were saved.

And what we have in verse 9 is talking about their Christian life experience. And I want Notice very carefully and if you have your pencil or pen and you’re willing to mark your Bible, I want you to notice something as we read the verse. For they themselves show us what manner of entering in we had unto you and how you turned to God from idols. Notice the next two words, to serve, to serve, to serve the living God. The people at Thessalonica were saved by simply trusting the gospel.

If you read Acts 17, Paul came to Thessalonica, he opened the Scriptures, he showed them the death, the burial, the resurrection of Christ from the Old Testament. It’s amazing. Most people don’t even believe that Christ is mentioned in the Old Testament, but the name Jesus in the Hebrew form is there 132 times. Yeshua, which is the contraction of God’s name Yahweh and the word for salvation Yasha, The contraction is Yeshua and in English it is Jesus. Jesus is the name that is used throughout the Old Testament in the form of Yeshua.

And I think most of you have heard that praise today. Well in any case they trusted there, it says if you read in Acts 17 that many of them believed. they believed or trusted in Christ, they became saved. But then after that, it says here in 1st Thessalonians chapter 1 verse 9 that they turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God. This is talking about their Christian service. It talks about them becoming disciples. It talks about them now departing from the previous habit of serving idols, not to serve the living God.

It doesn’t say here they got saved in verse 9 and it doesn’t use the word repent here, but they did turn from idols to serve the living God. The key word is to serve. Earlier they had believed and were saved. it says that they in verse 7 became examples to all that believe in Macedonia and a Ka’a. So here they were examples to those who believed in that whole region, and those that believed on Christ were saved, Acts 1631, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.

But now they became examples. Now they chose to serve the Lord, and in choosing to serve the Lord they turned from idols to serve the living God. I trusted Christ as my Savior at 18, and the night I trusted Christ, I had been so turned off by my church that I really had all kinds of misconceptions about everything, about how to be saved, and about the Christian life from the church I was raised in. And when I heard that salvation was a gift, whereas I had been taught all my life that it was something I would obtain by my works, I said, God, this is the best things I’ve ever heard.

I’ll take you up on your free gift of eternal life. And I knew that God couldn’t lie and that if the Bible was true, He had to give me eternal life based upon my trusting in Christ as my Savior. But I’ll never forget I said, God, I’ll never serve you, but I’ll take you upon your free gift of eternal life. Well, little did I realize what the Christian life was all about at that point and little did I realize that God would work in my life, but you know over that next year.

I was a secret believer. I knew I was saved. Or the Bible was not true. I knew I was saved. Or God lied to me in John’s free sixteen. He had said that whosoever believeth in Christ should not perish, but have everlasting life. And in that year of silence, God worked on me. You see, I had become saved. I was now a child of God. The Holy Spirit was in me working on me. And He brought me to the place a year later.

in the University of Florida in my dorm, in my room, all alone. I knelt to the Lord and I said, I will serve you from this day forward. I will tell other people about how to have eternal life. And that’s when I had the similar experience here that it talks about in 1 Thessalonians 1-9. I turned from other things that were important to me in my life to serve the living God. Now Christ became the most important thing in my life.

life, and telling my friends and the dorm how to have eternal life became of utmost importance. And it changed everything in my life. My life really didn’t change until I made the decision to become a disciple, a decision to serve the Lord and to tell others about Christ. And so I was saved, and I knew I was saved, and I knew I’d never be lost. I believed what God said in His Word, or God was a liar, but for a year I was a secret believer.

Nobody knew that I had trusted Christ, but God worked on me until I came to the place where I then made the second decision to choose to turn from the things that were important to me in my life, which were, in a sense, idols to serve, to serve, to serve the living God. I made a second decision to serve the living God and become a disciple, and I’ve been doing that ever since. You know the Bible is exciting but most people don’t read it very carefully but the people at Tesla and I could say by trusting Christ, not by turning from anything.

They simply trusted Christ. But then to serve Him they did turn from the things that had been important in their life before and in this case the idols that they had worshiped and now turned from those idols and they served the living and true God. Repentance is a change of mind. Again, you can repent without believing, but you cannot believe without repenting. And so you can change your mind about Christ, about salvation, about everything can never trust Christ. But you cannot trust Christ.

You cannot believe without repenting in the process. It’s included. I’m Dr. Inclins from this is Bibleline. We’re now going to go to the phone lines. We have Sherry and she is in Charleston, West Virginia and welcome to the Bible and Program Sherry. Hi. Good morning. Okay, my question is, I live in an area where they just approved or passed the bill for table gambling. Well, you know, there’s not a specific verse that says gambling is wrong or sin. But if you read the book of Proverbs, there’s lots of verses that tell us that if you think you’re going to get rich quick that that is a false principle that will bring you to financial ruin.

And so many people who gamble will obviously take good money from their family’s table and from paying the rent and taking care of other necessary bills to just throw it away and squander it because generally they always wind up losing. And Proverbs has lots of verses you could appeal to. I’m trying to think of one right off the top of my head, but it basically says that if you think you’re going to get rich quick, and there’s so many get rich quick schemes out there and people fall for them every time, but the Bible tells us that basically God is going to bless as we work diligently every day and we earn our living and that’s what I think God intended.

So I can’t point to a specific verse because I don’t believe there is one, but the principle is there that if you think that all of a sudden you can just throw money down on gambling and get a big return back, ultimately it’s going to sting you and you’ll find that some people will become hooked and their families, they go bankrupt because they just spend all their living chasing a dream that’s never going to become a reality. So that’s all I can do.

I would read proverbs and you’ll find a bunch of verses that will help you that give you the principle that that’s a a trick of the devil to steal you of your of your earnings okay uh… can I ask another question? I was trying to say that it was against God’s law, but I can’t find anything in their system. Okay. It does tell us about suing another Christian over in 1 Corinthians chapter 6. It tells us here that we ought to have a lot of people who are in the Bible and who are In 1 Corinthians 6, it tells us here that we ought to be able to settle that between each other.

It says in verse 1 of 1 Corinthians 6, there are any of you having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust. That’s the unsaved, and not before the saints. Don’t you know that the saints are going to judge this world one day? That’s at the great white throne judgment. And if the world should be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? So here it talks about in verse 6, but if brother goeth the law with brother, that’s a Christian against the Christian, and that before unbelievers, which are the judges in the court which are not probably saved, it says there’s utterly a fault among you.

Because you go to law with one another, why do you not rather take wrong? Why do you not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? and obviously talks about how it impacts our testimony before the loss when Christians are fighting and battling each other before the unsaid. So that’s the passage you’re looking for. First Corinthians chapter 6, 1-8. Okay, the company is, I think, the owners are Catholic, not fishing, Catholic. And because I had, I had spoken something close to that and then they tried to…

try to find it like that. So I guess that’s- Well, you’ll have to just weigh that on out. But if you, as a believer, are going against another believer before unbelievers in the court, the Bible says that’s wrong. I know we’ve had several times in our church where two church members had a financial disagreement and whatever. And they were willing to come before the leaders of the church and lay out their case and then abide by whatever decision the church leaders felt was right.

And that was wonderful. What a wonderful reconciliation between two Christians without having to go to court to settle it. But that doesn’t happen too frequently. It doesn’t happen too frequently today anymore. Today we live, this is an age of litigation where everybody takes everybody to court for anything almost it seems. Oh I know it’s ridiculous. And that’s why our insurance, everything is so odd. That’s right. You’re absolutely right. I’ve hated it. It’s been called for. I’m so glad you’re hearing us up there in West Virginia.

We’re glad to be there on your station, your area. Thank you very much. Thank you, Sherry. Thank you. All right, bye-bye. We don’t have David in St. Petersburg and David, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Another question about John MacArthur. I’ve been listening in for years, but I just heard something recently by him. You want to know those works, guys? Well, I believe he is, but through the back door. He’s a five point Calvinist and the Calvinist on the fifth point of Calvinism Which is called the Perseverance of the Saints say that if you’re genuinely chosen of God and that he Overcomes you and saves you that then you will have your life Constantly improving and that you will continue to serve God and live faithfully for him until you die It’s called the Perseverance of the Saints.

That’s a man made doctrine. That’s completely wrong. I’m eternally saved, not because I persevere. I’m eternally saved because Christ perseveres, because He is faithful, that He will not break His promise. And if my salvation were dependent upon my faithfulness, then perhaps I could lose it. And of course, this is basically where they come from. So they say that unless your life is improving, unless you have works, you don’t have saving faith. They go that phrase saving faith. Well saving faith in the Bible is defined as trusting Christ as your only hope of heaven and He saves you.

And then He keeps you saved. Then you’re kept by the power of God in 1 Peter by faith. But they believe that you have to change. In the Bible we find that a lot of Christians We’re not serving Lord. In fact, if you read the Corinthian letters, these people were living in all kinds of sin as believers, and yet they were still saved. And the Bible never hints that they were in danger of losing their salvation, but it does certainly point out that they were in danger of losing reward and in danger of having God chasing them severely even to the place of taking them home to heaven early, which there are several illustrations of first Corinthians of God taking home believers before they were living in the midst of the day.

for their time because of their willful sin as a Christian. So you have MacArthur teachers, you have to be, at the moment you believe you are also a disciple, unless you live the life of a disciple you will not go to heaven, you are not saved. Yeah, he said, I remember you talking about him by God. You are right. That’s right. If it mentions repentance eighty seven percent of time and doing it and also that saving fades and grace and all that other stuff I don’t you said it wasn’t in the Bible itself the actual phrase and I have to go to break and so And so please hold on if you want to talk.

But David, we are going to go to break. Come back and do a second and a half hour Bibleline. So I’m Dr. Anglinser, stay tuned, I’ll be right back and we’ll continue this discussion. A Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well I’m Dr. Anglinser and it’s great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast. It’s Friday and we’ll be back again on Monday Live. But if you want to continue to listen to Bibleline programs, You can go to our website, BibleLineMinistries.org.

There you’ll find our radio programs, our television programs, and also you’ll catch our worship services. And if you don’t have a church to worship at, you could, until you find one, worship with us by going online and watching our worship service live on Sunday morning. Go to Bible on Ministries.org and click on the camera. And you’ll find that if you do that at 11 o’clock a.m. Sunday morning, Easter Standard Time, that as soon as I begin the message the video and the audio will come up and you’ll be able to join our worship service.

We have people from all over the world that are able to see the Bibleline worship service here at Calvary Community Church on Sundays. But then during the week you can find you go back in the archives and there’s years where the sermons for you to enjoy and watch which might work out better with your schedule. So check that out. Also Israel, if you want to get in on the Israel trip, please call and ask for the brochure to be sent out.

And we have about less than six weeks now for you to make a decision because we want at least a deposit and a commitment that yes you want to go. So that way the airlines will hold those seats for us for the trip leaving February 23rd. They don’t guarantee to hold seats after October 1st. And so that deposit guarantees that seat will be held for you to go on the trip with us. So that’s the pressure. But otherwise, I think you still have until mid-January or so to pay off the trip before we leave.

But you don’t have to pay for the trip until mid-January. But you do have to make that decision to go and commit to that seat and lay down your deposit. And then if you decide you don’t go, that deposit money will go to the airlines for having saved that seat beyond the October 1st date. So keep that in mind. And by the way, the trip is priced out of New York and also out of Tampa. So you don’t have to buy any connecting flights.

It will take you from, if you’re in the Tampa Bay area, the connecting flight. And I believe this from other areas too, connecting flights are included. And you’ll go directly, and that saves quite a bit. I think you’ll find that most trips are you have to get your own way to the departure city and that costs hundreds of dollars extra. So that’s part of the trip. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can.

Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. All right, we’re back from that break and this is by blind and it’s wonderful to be with you. It’s Friday. We’re Head it up on the weekend and we’ve had a great week. I hope you’ve enjoyed all of our programs and you can listen to them again on the internet if you like. Go to BibleLineMinistries.org. Click on the spinning globe and you’ll get our radio programs.

Click on the camera and you’ll get our… our worship services and you can get our Sunday worship live if you like by going there at 11 o’clock Eastern Standard Time clicking on the camera and soon as I begin the message the video and the audio will come up and you’ll be able to watch. We have a year’s where the sermons sitting there waiting for you so you might also want to go back and watch some past sermons. And the titles are there so you can maybe look for what you might want to have or what you might want to watch or learn about.

So keep that in mind. By the way, we do have a special event coming up, Gershan Solomon, the head of the Temple Mount Faithful, is going to be here at Calvary Community on September 11th at 7 PM. And you’ll want to be here, I’m sure. The stones have been cut for the Third Temple by his organization, and he’s attempted numerous times to lay a cornerstone upon the Temple Mount. So fardrm has been denied, but it’s not the right time, but as soon as the Rapture happens, that Temple will go right up because all the preparations have been made.

Wouldn’t it be exciting to hear this man and maybe shake his hand, and this might be the guy who actually will build the Temple that Jesus will return to. In an alica in the Old Testament it says Christ will come suddenly to his temple. Well there is no temple right now. And so Gershan will tell you that that’s why they want to get this temple built so their Messiah can come back because he’ll come back to a temple that’s standing when he returns.

And we know that in the tribulation period the Antichrist will go into that temple and stop the sacrifices that will have been resumed and proclaim that he’s God. in 2 Thessalonians 2 4, and he will say to the world that he is God, and place his image in that temple and demand to be worshiped. We are living close, I believe. I was just in Israel back in February, and we saw the implements for worship. We saw the menorah, 92 pounds of gold, one solid, big, seven-branch candlestick for the temple.

Can you imagine Can you imagine how much that would cost? It had 92 pounds of gold in your closet, millions and millions of dollars. And we know that the time must be right because the preparations have been made and the Jews are back in their land and we’re living in the last days. I don’t think you’ll want to miss that. Market on your calendar, 9-11, September 11, 7 p.m., will Gershaun Solomon, the man who will rebuild the Third Temple, will be here.

the head of the Temple Mount Faithful and was there with Mosheld Gai’an in 1967, the Six-Day War, when the Jewish people conquered Old Jerusalem and they came to the Whaling Wall and wept that for the first time in 2000 years the Jewish people could approach their Temple Mount. And from that point on, he’s begun the crusade to build the Temple, cutting the stones and preparing the way for that temple to be rebuilt. I personally think it’s exciting and I hope you’ll come and get in on the excitement of the return of Christ being near because the preparations for building the Third Temple are a big sign that we’re closed and those preparations really have already been made.

It’s a matter of when the Rapture happens because I believe that’s the key. that happens the temple I think will be built immediately following. And I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom and this is by blend. We’re coming to you live from our studios here in Calvary Community Church and we hope that you’ll come by and visit our Resource Center during the week, open every day till 4.30 in the afternoon. Also you can come by on a worship day. We’d love to have you come this weekend if you don’t have a church home and if you live another city or another state and you can’t get here, you can join us by way of internet.

You can actually be here in our worship service with us. We also have the Israel trip coming up in February of next year if the Lord doesn’t snatch us out this year. And if you want to get that brochure call and we’ll mail that right out to you and we We need to have you a… And I think that through and make a decision because the airlines will hold the seats for me to lock COVID first. And without a deposit, I’ll lose those seats.

So to guarantee that your seat will be there, you won’t have to take the full amount of the trip off until about mid-January, but you do have to make a deposit and commit to go. So the airlines will hold the seats so that we have all everybody that wants to go on the trip with us guaranteed a seat on the flight. We’ll be flying with L.L. and that’s the safest airlines on the Earth and we’ll have a wonderful time it’ll be trip number 16 for me.

Call and we’ll give you that brochure. By the way you can get it off the internet too. If you go to our website BibleLineMinistries.org right above the camera on the home page it says Bibleline news. Click on that, then it will say Israel, Turbrough shirt, click on that, and it will come up. And we hope that you’ll take advantage of that. We got all of our phones lines, lines lighted up, and we’re going to try to go to catch all these.

I think we have our previous caller, David, online, and we’re going to say, David, welcome back to Bibleline. Yeah, you think the people who believe like John McArthe, I have a friend of mine that’s also, well, not a Catholic like MacArthur, but believes that, you know, mass and all that has anything to do with salvation. You know, this is where your works are like filthy rags. I do think people like that to believe that they’re not awful, be eating against them all that and God will take you back.

But they think that their works that are as filthy rags can add anything to their own salvation is like a, a, a, a, a sort of a pride trip for them that they’re not a not acknowledging? Well, the danger of that is if you think you have to work to be saved in addition to faith in Christ, you won’t be saved at all. And that is scary. It says in Romans 11, 6, and if by grace, and we’re saved by grace through faith in Christ, with by grace, then it says it’s no more of works.

Otherwise, grace by definition isn’t grace. Grace by definition is God’s unmerited favor. It’s like mercy, not merited or deserved by anything we do. So as soon as you add any works to it, it’s no longer mercy. The second part of that verse Romans 11, 6 says, if it be of works, then it’s no more of grace. What does that mean? If you have any works added to grace, you nullify grace and you You won’t have any grace. You didn’t stand before God and have no mercy.

It means you would go to hell. So obviously we need to come just like the Bible says that we come just as we are. And the hymn writer wrote it correctly when he said, just as I am, I come without one plea but that blood was shed for me. We don’t have a thing to offer God. Our best works are filthy rags, as you said. And we simply come lost and with nothing to say, hey, look at what I’ve done.

we trust Christ and He saves us, then He gives us the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives to be able to live for Him and to be servants of His that would bring glory to Him and He will reward us for that faithful service. But as far as our works being a part of salvation, if we try to say that I have to do something or I won’t be saved, that is obviously a counterfeit message. You know what I run the things they probably how many people they’ve led to the Lord or least introduced to the Lord or something How big the ministry is and then when you factor in that they’re preaching the false gospel the thing that their leading is actually counting against them Don’t God’s do The people that are actually doing a devil’s business in that they’re telling people that they need both obedience and grace to be saved and thus giving the false gospel so they’re taking a private one something of their dog doing a lot of something.

It’s just not a lot of something that’s true. I know. In Matthew 70. You see that in verse 22 Jesus said many will come to me in that day That’s the great white throne judgment and they’ll say Lord Lord Lord. And obviously they acknowledge you Christ is and He is the Lord. But then they also show our brag about their obedience to the Lordship of Christ in three areas and they say why we preached in your name and we’ve healed in your name and we’ve done many wonderful works in your name.

increases. I never knew you. He didn’t say I was doing a loss to you. And the problem is that they never said, Lord, we trusted that you died in our place, that you shed, that you paid our said debt and full, and that you were buried, that you rose again from the dead. We’re trusting in your finished work for our salvation. No, they’re bragging about all the wonderful things that they’ve done. And they’re obviously are into Lordship Salvation, but the Lordship Salvation doesn’t save them because Christ says I never knew you in verse 23.

That’s Matthew. 27 22 and 23 it’s kind of scary and Can you imagine how terrible that will be for people who thought they were Christians who will stand before the Lord? And he says I never knew you and there’s a but Lord Lord We preached in your name and we healed in your name and we did wonderful works in your name and Christ said I never knew you because the only way you can come to know the Lord is through Festing in what Christ did for you not what you do for him.

Yeah, they’re doing like you mentioned about the guy as a bad example. He was a drunken bomb. He’s a bad example. It says he’s a Christian, even though he may say he’s a bad one. But he’s not doing that. He may be doing damage to those who are looking at him and saying he’s a Christian and he’s doing damage to those around him. But the Kingdom of God is getting more damage done against it as far as people Who got millions and millions of audience members that are getting spoon fed stuff that only the devil would feed them.

It’s like, hey, man, this is sound flight. This sounds good like that. What’s that guy Rick Warren? He had both those candidates on. The media is looking at Rick Warren and people like he’s like he’s the big man, hey he’s guy and he’s another work guy. You know this guy is doing a lot of quote unquote good as far as people who don’t know what good is. You know I’m saying? I do know it. You know what you’re saying, and it’s unfortunate that Rick Warren teaches a salvation as being a continuous process, and this is what many people do.

It’s actually received at the moment you trust Christ by a single act of faith and possessed forever thereafter. The Bible says that the moment you believe, you’re in dwelt with the Holy Spirit who will involve you forever. You’re sealed with the Holy Spirit. The moment you believe, Ephesians 113 says that at the moment you believe you are sealed with the Holy Spirit which is the down payment that God gives guaranteeing that you will be in heaven one day and you could never be lost because to break that seal you would have to be more powerful than God the Holy Spirit who is the one who himself seals you as God’s child.

Salvation is not a process. I received eternal life at 18 when I trusted Christ and I still possess it. I’m not waiting to get eternal life someday. And if I could lose it somewhere along the line, it wouldn’t have been eternal life. It’s eternal life that God offers, not probation, but salvation. If you spend your whole entire life, quote unquote, living that way, which is trying to be the best you can and you’re getting better and better and all that other stuff, dog, or whatever that stuff, all that other.

The last year you were on repentant so even based on the wrong thing all those rewards you accumulate it quote unquote according to them i mean you do if you really a christian but uh… if you do all that good for forty years and blah blah blah in the last year you really had it bad you know you just reflect slightly did all this even a little but you make support of yours way nothing in the last year year.

And that’s what this false doctrine of the perseverance of the saints is all about. They say that it would prove that you never had saving faith if you didn’t persevere to the very end. And obviously that is a wrong concept. It says that we’re saved eternally because God will not break His promise that God is eternal and He perseveres. But we’re not saved because we persevere. I have a verse I love in Corinthians chapter one where it talks here about the Corinthian believers being saints at the moment they believe and how that it says in verse eight that when Christ comes back He will confirm you right up until the end, blameless when He comes back.

And then it says in verse nine which is what I love, God is faithful by whom you were invited into the fellowship of the Son Jesus Christ. God is going to be faithful to confirm you blameless right to the end of your life based upon what Jesus Christ did for you, not based upon what you do for Him. Bye. Well, it’s just a confusing thing out there because the devil, I think, wants to mix this up and rob us of our assurance.

I have a lot of calls I’m going to have to run into. Thank you. Thank you for your call and we’re going to go now to Jerry and Tampa. Jerry, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Mr. L The last chapter of Revelations were after it’s all been said and done and the New Jerusalem has come down. My calculations were about 1.2 million square miles size. They didn’t mention the dates and the walls and that the nations will bring their bounty into the…

Who are these nations that they’re talking about? I thought all of it said and done, you know, the capars take in place, the New Jerusalem has come down and eternity has begun. What are these nations they’re talking about that they don’t really name? Well, I’ll hang up and look into it on the radio. And the answer is here in chapter 21 of Revelation in verse 24. It says, the nations of them which are saved shall walk in it. That is in the New Jerusalem.

And so everybody who’s saved out of all the nations are the nations that will be represented. I think when you get there, if you were saved in the United States, obviously you’ll come from that nation or if you’re saved in Germany, you’ll come from that nation. Although I’m sure we’re not going to be seen as Americans or Germans or French in heaven, but it says the nations of them which are saved. So the key thing is that you’re saved.

And obviously this chapter ends up in verse 27 saying that the saved of those who have their names permanently in the Lamb’s Book of Life. That comes about when you trust Christ, your name is promised to be there forever, or ever according to Revelation 3.5. He says, I will not blot out your name out of the book of life. And again, wonderful that the moment you trust the Lord, you have the assurance from that moment on that you will never have your name come out of the book of life.

And it also says in Revelation 2.11 that you will never be hurt of the second death. So either God’s a liar or he’s telling the truth, that if he’s telling the truth, you’ll never go to hell. You’ll never be hurt of the second death. Your name is never going to come out of the book of life. The Holy Spirit seals you until you’re actually sitting up there in heaven with the Lord and to break that seal someone would have to be able to be more powerful than God the Holy Spirit himself to be able to do that.

And I hope that helps answer that question. Thank you for that call. We now have Bino in Kansas City, Missouri and welcome to Bible on your own ear. Oh, yeah, you’re on the ear. Alright, well I can let you know and bless you and get the good work. And I have a question about that when you first open your program, you said about false teaching. That word metanomia? Metanoya, Metanoya. Emilia, Meta, and then Noya, NOIA. The two words say there’s a change of mind.

a change of mind. Okay. Which kind of reminds me back a question about the Pharisees and the sea loves and the high priest. When Jesus first came to the new, but I wanted to know that they had the law of Moses and when you know all the the list of those who cannot the temple because they are not purify first came to the temple those are the people that he wanted to see of the people they think of the unpurify the question is the fairies he even though they follow the law of moses there’s still the way what i’m trying to say is whether they still be saved because of the teaching of moses that they follow well the thing is that they missed really what moses taught you know Jesus told them in John chapter 5, had you believed Moses, you would have believed me because

Moses wrote about me. In other words, Jesus was mentioned by Moses as the one they should believe on. And here they obviously picked out selectively what they wanted to believe for Moses and rejected the wonderful truth of the gospel that Moses gave thousands of years ago. And so according to Matthew 23, it says, woah and you scribes and Pharisees, He says you’re not only not going to heaven yourself, but you’re preventing those who would go to heaven because they had He had been preaching a wrong message, one of the law and of works for salvation, rather than one of faith in Christ.

And so, the Pharisees were lost. Now, there were some Pharisees that got saved, and you could read about that in John’s Gospel chapter 12. And so, quite a few Pharisees did get saved, but the majority of them did not, because they did not repent. They did not change your mind, and recognize Jesus as being the Messiah, and trust Him as your Savior. region why there were The reason why they rejected Jesus was because there was few long Moses that Jesus changed, especially the Sabbath day and also the purification.

I think that’s the reason why they rejected Jesus. I think they are not safe even though because they didn’t believe in Jesus that’s exactly what they did even a lot of moses he didn’t come to a ballachate he came to fulfill the law because the law the word of god really uh… was a presentation about jesus coming and uh… moses uh… road about christy bjon five what a wonderful chapter that is i’m so glad you’re able to hear us out there in kansas city was very keep listening absolutely you would talk about this false teacher journey God stopped him from reaching north because God said, go to the west because there’s a lot of false teaching there.

A lot of people doing witchcraft. He listens to God and he went to the west and he went to Felipe and all that places is because of just so many false teaching there. You heard the Macedonian calling went. Thank you for calling. I guess I got to go on to the next caller. Thank you for calling and keep listening. Okay, thank you very much. Alright, that’s in Kansas City, Missouri. We now have Chris in Lakeland, Florida, and Chris, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Year.

Good day, good morning, Pastor Hank. Thanks for taking my call, Gerstin, and my family and I will see you next Sunday. But I have a question, Pastor Hank. I know the scripture teaches us this just contrary to the scripture that we’re going to mark them and have no fellowship with them. Now Gerstron doesn’t believe in Christ, doesn’t he actually believe not what the scripture says, and should we not mark him and not have no fellowship with him? And I’ll hang up and listen.

Okay, that’s a good point. And people ask me about that because he is an unsaved Jew. He’s an orthodox Jew and I’ve had many discussions with him trying to lead him to Christ and he believes that the Messiah has not yet come but is coming the first time whereas we believe He’s coming back and this will be his second coming when he comes. But he’s not the main person here. I’m the one in charge and we’re going to use him just to give us the information that he possesses about the rebuilding of the third temple and about things that are going to happen through his organization and others in Israel to prepare the way for Christ to come back.

But I’m going to definitely be giving the gospel and he will hear again in my presence that he’s lost without Christ. So nobody’s going to walk out of here saying, wow, we should believe the doctrines of Gershana Solomon for salvation because his salvation plan is wrong. And I’m going to make it very clear nobody will have any misunderstanding. He’s not coming here and going to be able to say that the Messiah is coming the first time without me saying that that’s not true.

He’s coming the second time. So thank you for that call and hopefully that helps a little bit, but I’m the one that is going to be moderating this meeting and I’m going to make sure that people know about Jesus that he’s already come and shed his blood the first time. We have John in Tampa and John, welcome to Bibleline. Good morning, Pastor. I’ll make it quick. I was listening to the radio last week. And I heard a man named Hank Hana-Graft talk about the second coming or already coming.

And he kind of made fun of it. Some people were predicting that 1981. They predicted the Rapture in the 1986. They predicted the Rapture. And that had happened. And they moved it. He’s a six day war to this day and they moved it. You kind of make a fun of everybody who believes in the Rapture. He believes Christ already came back in he 70 in all his power and all his glory. Only nobody saw it. Obviously this is called predarism.

He believes in replacement theology. He’s terribly wrong in those areas. So Christ is coming back and you better believe it and I believe he’s coming soon. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. We’ve already exhausted all of our time today. We’re going to have to run. Again Bibleline is running short for August.
