And by the way, if your baptized is an infant, that doesn’t count. If your baptized before you got saved, that doesn’t count. Water baptism doesn’t save, but it’s a testimonial on the part of the believer that they’ve been cleansed of their sin by the blood of Christ. It’s only Christ’s blood that could wash away your sin. Revelation 1, 5, Jesus says, or it says about Jesus unto Him that loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood.
We’re not washed by water, we’re washed by the blood of Christ. Then there are many who teach water baptism as essential for salvation and that is a big, big error. It is really wrong. And obviously that’s works for salvation and if you’re trusting in water baptism to save you, you’re not going to be saved. It’s only Jesus and His death and shed blood that can provide for you eternal life. Well we have our resource center open. You can come by every day, tell about 4.30 in the afternoon and visit us.
Many people do and we had many over the weekend as well that came to visit. And by the way, if you live in another city, you cannot come by and visit our resource center here at Bible and Headquarters in Tampa. You can go online to our website, BibleLineMinistries.org and click on the online bookstore and you’ll be connected to that. A resource center and you can order off of that or you can call and ask for a resource sheet to be sent out.
We’ll send that out for you charge and you can look over all the things that we have and be able to order directly off of that cheap. We have a book on evangelism that will just tell you how to do it. How to open mouth. What to say when mouth is open. When to close your mouth. and that book is only I think $12 and it’s the best book on evangelism I believe ever written because it does the one-on-one.
You know we have so many books on evangelism but they generally talk about mass evangelism, senior evangelism, child evangelism and all kind of special needs group but they generally don’t tell you how to actually carry on the conversation. This book will tell you an imaginary conversation what you’ll say what they’ll say what you’ll say what they’ll say what you’ll say what they’ll say it just guides you through it makes it so easy you’ll find you’ll be leading people to Christ very shortly if you get that book on how to lead a soul to Christ called a handbook of personal evangelism we have it in Spanish as well as English and by the way we have the the Scofield Bible in Spanish as well as English.
One of the ones that I like so much as beautiful is it’s two Bibles in one. It has the English, the Scofield Bible and notes on the left side, on the right side of every page, it’s Spanish, the Spanish Bible with the Scofield notes in Spanish. And that’s a treat if you are working with two languages or want to have the Spanish. We also have just the Spanish Scofield by itself without the English, but I think it’s great to be able to have both in one Bible.
It’s like two Bibles in one. You might enjoy having that. Want to talk a little bit about the Bible right now and then we’ll get to our callers. If you want to call us, the number is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. So give us a call. We’d love to hear from you and we hope that you You will call us if you have a question or if you’ll get on that phone and tell your friends about the program, we hope that they’ll tune in as well.
What about the terminology that people use? And I know that a lot of people just mix up salvation with things that are part of the Christian life and you can’t do that. Obviously, we are told in 2 Timothy 2, 15 to rightly divide the word of truth. Set the truths of God’s word in right order, and that requires study. That very verse says study to show thyself approved unto God as a workman that needs not to be ashamed. You know, as believers, we should be working, and as believers, we need to work according to the book.
And if we’re not careful, we’ll be ashamed because we didn’t pay close attention to what God’s Word says. Sometimes you have people say that in order to be saved you have to follow Christ or be a follower of Christ. That is not true. That is really one of the things of the Christian life that is presented in the Bible. We simply come to Christ and trust in His finished work, and we become saved. And saved eternally at the moment we trust Him as our Savior.
But to follow Christ, and I think this gets so maligned as well, because following Christ has to do with our purpose as a believer, all right, up until the day we go to be with the Lord, either by death or the rapture. In Matthew chapter 4 and verse 19 Jesus said to those disciples that He called and He says follow me and I will make you fishers of men. Well obviously the object of becoming a follower of Christ is that you will become a fisher of men and so if you are truly following Christ you will be leading people to Christ, you will be seeking out the loss and trying to bring the gospel to them.
But following Christ does not save you and is not a part of our salvation that the Bible talks about. Salvation is holy and completely of Jesus. He paid it all. All of our sins were paid for by Christ and we simply receive the free gift of eternal life when we trust Him. Wherever we look we find salvation is presented as a gift. Romans 6, 23 says the gift of God is eternal life. The gift of God is eternal life.
The gift of God is eternal life. The gift of God is eternal life. Or if we reverse that, eternal life is the gift of God. Eternal life is the gift of God. Ephesians 2 8 says, by grace are we saved through faith in Jesus Christ and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. It is the gift of God. Jump through 16. For God’s the love of the world that He gave, His only begotten Son. Wherever you look, salvation is spoken of as a gift.hibition is a gift.
In Romans chapter 5 it says several times it is the free gift. Free gift. Free gift. You know this is the one gift that’s truly a gift. Sometimes we get a little bit wary of that word gift because so many sales people present some sort of a gift. And by the time we get that gift it costs us a lot. money because it’s not really a gift, but this is a gift that’s truly a gift with no strings attached.
The moment you trust Christ as your Savior, you become born again, you receive the gift of eternal life and you become God’s child forever. Then there’s a second choice to be made and I believe everybody ought to respond to Christ’s invitation to become a follower and he says, follow me and I I will make you a fisher of men.” There’s a hymn that people sing, I’m following Jesus. One step at a time. I didn’t mean to break into the song here, but it’s a beautiful song.
But when you look at their life, I wonder, are they really following Christ because they never attempt to lead a soul to Christ. They never bring the gospel to anybody lost. They never invite a lost soul to church. They seem to be singing that song and would probably say, yes, I’m a follower of Jesus Christ, but if you’re a believer and you’re not attempting to lead people to Christ, you’re not following Christ. Think about what Jesus said in Matthew 4 19, follow me and I will make you a fisher of men.
That is really the focus of the Christian life. Ultimately your life really ought to bring other people to Christ That’s what it’s all about and so all the other things that relate to the Christian life going to church praying reading your Bible Aren’t the focus of the Christian life the focus the direction that Christ gave us is Follow me and I will make you a fisher of men and you know, it’s right in line with what we call the great commission The Great Commission, Mark 1615, Jesus said, go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
You know, that’s our Great Commission. We are to go and bring the gospel to the lost. And to follow Christ means that Christ will make you a fisherman. You may not be one now, but as you follow in pursuit of that goal of following Christ, This will ultimately make you, man, and as believers, that is our goal. We need to learn the Bible. We need to learn thepread. The fellowship. The fellowship. The other aspects of the career should enable us to be a strong witness for Jesus Christ.
sharing the gospel with those that are lost. I mentioned earlier that book we have handbook of personal evangelism. This will make it easy for you. It not only will tell you what to say, but it’ll tell you how to present it and to be smart, when to open mouth and when not to open your mouth and when to close your mouth after you have gotten into this conversation and how to stay focused on the purpose of your conversation. That’s to bring that lost person to a saving knowledge of Christ.
Let me recommend that you think about this. If you have trusted Christ, you’re a believer. But now every believer is invited to follow Christ. You know, Peter got saved in John chapter 1 when Andrew led his brother Peter to Christ. It says he brings him to Christ and Peter gets saved. But the invitation to become a disciple, to be a follower of Christ, is something that occurred later at a different time, at a different location. If you read Matthew 4, Christ is walking along the sea of Galilee.
What a beautiful place it is. I was just there a few months ago. No wonder Jesus liked the sea of Galilee. It’s just a gorgeous, gorgeous sea, and it’s below sea level. 700 feet below sea level and it’s in a valley, ringed with mountains and everything is green and luscious, it’s just a beautiful place. And Jesus said there to his disciples who were fishing, that was their occupation. Peter, James, and John were going about their ordinary business. They were working with their nets and they are fishers of fish.
And Christ said, follow me and I’ll make you a fisher of men. What happens? It says they forsook their nets and they followed him. And obviously, Peter on the day of Pentecost was there when 3,000 people got saved in one day. Now maybe you’ll never have 3,000 people get saved, but every believer can lead someone else to Christ. And it begins with your family. What about your children? What about your spouse? What about your nephews and nieces? What about your aunts and uncles?
What about your parents? You know, everybody has somebody close to them. I believe that needs to hear the gospel. Maybe you’re listening today and you have never heard or understood the gospel. Let me tell you that’s more common than not because I was raised in church for eighteen years and never heard the gospel. I was confirmed, I was baptized, I was homogenized, pasteurized, capsized, and Simonized. Nobody ever explained to me how to be saved. Wow. And you know, I didn’t get saved by church.
I got saved by the Bible study that my sister invited me to, that I went to really against my will. I didn’t want to go. Thank God I did. Thank God for my sister invited me because I heard the gospel clearly presented and I immediately recognized, wow, this is the truth. This is the message. And I trusted Jesus Christ as my only hope of heaven. But you know, it was not until a year later that I decided I would follow Christ.
That is, I understood from the Bible that there was a second decision. I needed to become a fisher of men. I needed to tell others about Christ. And you know, the Lord brought me to a place where I made that decision. And I’ll never forget I picked out the first person I would ever witness to. And I planned the time and I planned the circumstances. I planned everything to be as best as I could in my favor. And I went down and talked to a fellow that lived down the hall in my dorm at the University of Florida.
And you know, to make the story short, he trusted Christ. What an exciting day that was. And you know, he’s still serving the Lord today. He didn’t get saved by serving, but he chose to trust Christ, and then he chose to live for Christ. And he’s a great friend. He’s written me numbers of letters thanking me for coming down and knocking on his dorm room and telling him about the gift of God. You know, there’s no greater thrill for the Christian than to lead someone else to a saving knowledge of Christ.
I hope you are saved right now. And I hope that you, if you’re not a follower, would be. Many people think they’re followers of Christ, but they never attempt to lead a soul to Christ. You’re not a follower. You’re deceiving yourself. You might think you’re a follower of Christ, but Jesus said, follow me and I’ll make you a fisher of men. I’m Dr. Englundstrom. We’re going to go to the phone lines and we have lines lighting up right now left and right.
The phone number is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. And we have Doris and she’s down in Miami, Florida. And Doris, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hi, I just wanted to find out. I’m so confused about the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Can you I’m not sure when they ask me, I’m baptized in the Holy Spirit, what I should answer. Well the answer is if you are a believer, if you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior, you have been baptized by the Holy Spirit.
Let me give you a great verse, write this one down to us. It’s 1 Corinthians 12, 13. It says, by one spirit are we all, A-L-L, baptized into one body. Whether you are bond or free, Jew or Gentile, you have all been made to drink into one spirit. And the result is, verse 27, now you are the body of Christ and members in particular. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is the act of the Holy Spirit taking you the moment you believe and placing you into the body of Christ.
So your position as God sees you is that you are in Christ’s body. And that happens to every believer at the instant of belief. Notice what the verse says. 1 Corinthians 12, 13, by one spirit are we all baptized. Every believer, I’ve had people come to me and condense in terms and say to me, have you received the baptism. of the Holy Spirit and of course without hesitation I say absolutely every believer has the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
If you don’t have it you’re not saved because you only are saved when you trust Christ and then God the Holy Spirit places you into the body of Christ and then he sees you in Christ and so therefore what happened to Christ happened to you God sees you in Christ’s body when he hung on the cross and therefore you can say as Paul did in Galatians 220 you’re crucified together with Christ. nevertheless you live. Romans 6 tells us you were buried with Christ.
God saw you in the tomb in Christ’s body. When Christ rose from the dead, it says in Romans 6 3 that you are resurrected with Christ. It says over in Ephesians that you are not only ascended with Christ but in Ephesians 2 6 as a believer God sees you in Christ’s body right now. And according to the Bible you’re seated with Christ right now in heavenly places in Christ. So when you trust Christ, what happened to Christ, God says He sees you in Christ, therefore it happened to you.
As far as God is concerned, you’re already in heaven now where Christ is, because He sees you in Christ’s body. As far as speaking in tongues, that is not happening at all today. It didn’t even happen to everybody in the time when tongues was operative. The gibberish is done today is not the gift of tongues. There’s nobody on the planet today that’s speaking in the gift of tongues. That was a miraculous gift that allowed you to speak in a foreign language, a known foreign language, to evangelize.
And that’s what happened on Pentecost. 3,000 people got saved hearing the gospel in a Gentile language. And the ones who spoke those Gentile languages had no clue as to what those languages were before God gave them the miraculous gift of specific dialect of those languages. So Doris, I hope that helps a little bit, but every believer has the baptism and there are numerous other verses that would support that as well. But you don’t have to ever say, well, I don’t know, 1 Corinthians 12, 13 says every believer has received that baptism.
Thank you very much. You’re welcome Doris. Keep listening down in Miami, Florida. We now have Lawrence and he is in Hollywood, Florida and Lawrence welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning Pastor Hank. You’re on the air. Go ahead. Okay. Pastor Hank, I have a I have a question concerning the gospel preached. Okay. It seems that it’s past tense. I have two Scriptures I have more but I’ll just read two. In Mark 16 15 It says Jesus said go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation creation in Colossians 1 23 it says this is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven.
So it seems that it’s you know past tense. Well when you look back obviously that was the message that they were sent out with and they preached it but that message has been entrusted to us and now we to preach the gospel. If you read, and this is a great verse, 1st us, Alonians 2, 4 is one of my favorites. It says, as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak, not as pleasing men, but as pleasing God.
So you have been trusted with, as a believer, and I have been trusted with the message of the gospel, and we are to speak that message and that’s present tense and that’s a very clear verse that yes there’s in that time preached the gospel thank God they did because it carried on down to us today but also you’ll need notice in first the salini is two four that present tense we’ve been entrusted with the gospel and we are to speak it because that’s our responsibility as a Christian I understand that by my point it says it’s sort of misleading it so they preach that to war creation everything or creation under heaven.
How do they do that? Well obviously that’s an overstatement but it’s really saying that they went everywhere and you read that in Mark 16 the disciples took that commission literally and they went everywhere preaching the gospel and they reached pretty much the known world of that time. Paul obviously winds up his ministry in Rome there he’s executed but Rome was really an amazing civilization where they had communication lines and travel routes and roads that they built and it made it very easy for the gospel to be moved around the world very quickly and you’ll find the early church grew in that wonderful environment and I think God planned everything to happen at that particular time.
They did do the job that they were told to do and We praise the Lord for the early church that was dynamic in getting that gospel out. Yeah, but that again is just, you know, when you say on a road to Rome, that’s only going to Rome. It’s just the wall creation. I know, but you missed the point that if you read what happens, as Paul tells us in Philippians, that the gospel was furthered even by him being put in prison.
He was leading prison cards to Christ. And those prison guards did duty in the palace as well. And so it went right into the Palace of Caesar, into the government. And there were people becoming saved all over. And those people, as they traveled, they took the gospel and it went everywhere. Thank you so much, Lawrence, for your call. We appreciate that. And obviously we are to do the same today. We’re failing though, I think today, in getting that message out as we should.
I hope if you haven’t trusted Christ, you would. You could just do that right now by saying, Lord, I’m a sinner and I trust Jesus Christ as my only hope of heaven. I believe his death and shed blood purchase my salvation. God saves you the moment you trust him. By the way, Bibleline is listed as supported. We’re finishing up the month of July. We are a little short. We could sure use your help. Could you possibly give a gift today to Bibleline call in and give it by credit card over the phone or call in and ask for an envelope to be sent mail your gift in.
And God bless you and thank you in advance for all of you who pray for and give the Bible and make it possible for us to be on the air. We’re going to take a short break. We’re going to come back and do a second and a half hour by blind. I’m Dr. Englandstrom. Don’t go away. Keep you ready to tune right where it is. And I’ll be right back.
Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Englandstrom and it’s great to be with you today. We certainly look forward to being with you every day and this is Monday and we’ll be here all week long. I hope you’ll join me. One lady said that she had gone away from her home for a few days and she missed her fix which she considered Bible and her fix every day.
She just needed to hear that Bible and program and open up her Bible and study along with us. That’s exciting and we have a lot of people who can identify with that and they say yeah Bible and is my fix every morning too. And Zupan becomes yours. We hope that you’ll enjoy every day as you listen, as we come to you live out of Tampa, Florida, from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church, where I’m the pastor. Why not use our internet to visit us?
You can visit our radio programs by clicking on the spinning globe. You can visit our television programs by clicking on the TV set. You can visit our You can worship or rather visit our online bookstore and visit our resource center. All of that’s right there at BibleLineMinistries.org. BibleLineMinistries.org. Give it a try. We would love to hear from you and I hope you’ll write us or call us and say, Hey, I’m enjoying it. It sure is nice to get those notes and cards and letters that encourage us.
us as you tell us how Bibleline is meaningful to you. And we hope that you’ll continue to listen and pass that word along to your friends. You know, we’re reaching people overseas. We just got a nice email from a missionary in Japan. And he listens. And he watches Bibleline on his laptop in Japan. Isn’t that amazing? What an amazing world we’re living in, where we have people around the world. able to catch the Bible and program and hopefully you are taking advantage of that also.
God bless you. We’re excited about reaching the lost for Christ and we believe these are the last days. We believe we’re running against the clock. The Christ is coming back and whatever we’re going to do, we need to do it now. Would you consider helping Bibleline investing in us? We are trying to get this message out, get clear answers about the Bible out and we We need your support. We really don’t have any other means of staying on the air than our listeners.
And so you are a special group that really enable us to be on the air. And God bless every one of you who pray for and give the Bible and God bless you. You are the ones who keep this program going. Pray for the others that are doing that and pray for Bible and with this wonderful message of the gospel of Jesus. We’re going to be joining the stations that have been on break into the second half hour of Bible and so keep you ready to write where it is and don’t go away.
Here we go. Part two. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Well, we’re back for that break and it’s good to be with you again today here on Bibleline and thank you for tuning in. You know, we are excited about what God is doing. We’re in the last days. Christ is coming back. If you don’t think we’re in the last days and you’re not reading the newspaper, the headlines just scream it out. Wow! Israel is back in the land.
The world is focused on the oil in the Middle East. The problems are insurmountable as we find the nations are seeming to be in an uproarSame and the Bible says that the nations would even laugh about the story of the Messiah and Jesus Christ and yet God says God would laugh and have them in derision. He’s going to bring a time of tribulation on this earth such as the world has ever seen And I think we’re right on the edge of that.
Thank God that we as believers are going to be snatched down at the event called the Rapture. That event is going to happen, I think, perhaps very soon. Maybe this year, who knows? But the word Rapture means caught up and there’s going to be a group of believers that will never die. Can you imagine? Maybe you’re going to be one of those. If you’re a believer, there’s going to be a group of people that will never die, never experience death, don’t be caught up alive to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord according to 1 Thessalonians 4, 13 through 18.
I’m looking forward to that. I think if you say healthy just a little bit longer, you’re a good candidate to be one of those that will be a part of a special group that will never die. Not exciting. You know Jesus said in John 11 25 in that wonderful chapter when he raises Lazarus from the dead. He said And I am the resurrection and the life. He that believeth in me, though he were dead yet shall he live. And that speaks of most of those over this past two thousand years since Pentecost, that they die and they’ll be in the resurrection.
They’ll have a new resurrection body. They’re absent from the body. President of the Lord, but they don’t get their new bodies until Christ comes back and at the resurrection he will give them new bodies. Then verse 26 of John 11, wow, it says, and whoso ever liveth, liveth and believeth in me, shall never die. There he talks about the rapture. He talks about a group that are living when he comes back, a group of those that are living that believe or trust on Christ, and he says, you’ll never die, never die, never die.
Whoa, won’t that be something? I can’t wait, it’s exciting. and maybe it’ll happen this year. I don’t know. But it could, and it’s certainly not something we should rule out and say, hey, it won’t happen for a long time. The very fact that Israel is in the land. The very fact that the world is so dependent upon oil right now, you know, that’ll change in the future as we develop other energy sources. But right now there’s an insatiable thirst for oil.
And the Bible says that God would put hooks in the jaws of the nations to draw them into the Middle East and we’re seeing that oil is that hook and it’s drawing everybody into the Middle East. Wow! That’s when Jesus will come according to the Bible. That’s when Christ will set up his kingdom of peace on earth, good will toward men. That’s when, obviously, we as believers are going to really have some exciting experiences. Can you imagine to be just caught up right through the atmosphere, to meet the Lord in the air, be transformed into our new bodies on the way up and be forever with the Lord?
It is exciting. I’m excited and wild. Well, I’m excited about it. And here I got all my phone lines lighted up and we need to talk to you. Maybe you’d like to call us the numbers 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-5-7-63771. And again, let me thank all of you who pray for and give to Bible and because you make this program possible. We’re at the end of July and we’re a little bit short. We sure could use your help. Would you consider calling in today and giving a gift to Bible and by credit card or call and ask for an envelope to be sent and we’ll send you an envelope with our address on you can mail that gift in.
We can use your help and this is the way that God works and he has kept us on the air through the wonderful generous gifts of listeners just like you. We appreciate this program and want to see it continue. God bless you. Thank you so much in advance because I know that God is using you to enable us to be on the air. And I don’t take that for granted. God bless you. Thank you so much. And we’re going to go to the callers.
We have Liz. She’s in Prince George, Virginia. And Liz, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Oh, thank you. I understand that there will be unbelievers in the millennium. How will their potential lawlessness be dealt with during the millennium? Well with severity, you know, Christ will be ruling and He will know every transgression that takes place and He’ll deal with it immediately. So it’s not like you’ll go undetected. It will be very known to Jesus and He will deal with it.
There will be death in the millennium And as you said, there will be unbelievers, but it starts with all believers. No unbeliever will enter into the millennium, but those people are, those who get saved in the tribulation period, they’re still in their mortal bodies. They haven’t died. They’ll have children. Their children will marry and have children and their children will be raised up and marry and have children. And the earth will be filled with people that are born during the millennium.
And many of those apparently will not trust Jesus as Savior, even though he’s visibly ruling on the earth and the earth is full of the knowledge of Christ. But that’s the wicked nature of man that we inherit from Adam. The Bible says in Jeremiah 17, 9, the heart is a seat above all things and desperately wicked. And so you see there will be unsaved people, people that will reject the message, even though they’re living in ideal conditions. But God will deal with that swiftly and they will not get away with it.
So there will be peace on earth that whole time. God is not going to allow people to go to war or to learn war. They will not be able to develop weapons and they will be pretty much at peace. But some will not trust the Lord. When they commit acts of sin, God will deal with it right away. Thank you very much. You’re very welcome and thank you for that call that was from Prince George, Virginia We now have Glenn in Tampa, Florida and Glenn welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.
Hey, how you doing Hank? Oh, I wanted to first of all say I I thank God God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit so much for your program Because I had your radio. I had the radio on it work one day and you were the one that told me that I never will lose my salvation. And I was walking around thinking, I’m done, you know, I can’t never get right. Well, anyway, I finally, finally have been walking the state narrow line following him, going to church, and just being a great Christian as he wants me to be.
And what I was trying to, what I’m, when I ask you is, now I realize that I thought it was all hokey, I believe that and I should just do that in my church, right? Well if your church does baptize by immersion and They would be willing to do it. That’d be fine. But if you’re near enough But we would be honored to include you in our baptist. I would like to do that. I couldn’t catch the date though August 17th the third Sunday It’ll be at three o’clock in the afternoon at a lake nearby We can give you more information if you call and sign up to do it with us, but hey now when do I do that?
Anytime you want between on them just call in after the program and I want to be on that baptism list and okay beautiful And they can send you a map or or you know, they’ll give you all the instructions Okay, yeah, I I really love you from my heart as a brother of Jesus and I just really thank you Well, I’ve been so much for your awesome work in the ministry. Well, I appreciate what a wonderful man Thank you.
I hope to meet you there really well. I hope to to yeah I’m going to get off the phone, but I really tell you it’s going to be so great to meet like Billy Graham and having all these great ministers of the true word of Christ. It’s going to be wonderful. What I find interesting here is that people criticize us for telling the truth about salvation, that it’s eternal and you can’t be lost. They say that leads to life of sin.
You just told us that the opposite has happened. you are walking a straight and narrow and living for Christ because you know you can’t lose it. That’s right. That’s right. Right. Like I said, I was that was that really that you know, I mean I was going through some bad bad bad depression because I was like See I’ll make a long story short. I got out of prison I’ve been out for 15 years and I got saved in prison so many thought they see me reading the Bible and They slipped me a piece of paper, you know the the the prayer, you know to go to go to write to Jesus and you know And I cried.
I was in my bunk crying like a child. And I knew I was saved because when I finally got to prison after being in the county jail, I walked with God. And then when I got out a week later, I chased my wife off and my daughter was with her. And I just lost it. I just went back. I figured I was saved and I would just do whatever. And then I got to where I thought, man, God’s never going to forgive me.
because what you told me really god bless you that’s all i can say and i do hope to meet i’m gonna meet you are you gonna be doing the back of the land personally i’m personally on it put you under the water all thank you god all right brother i will see you then okay thank you glenn for calling in from tampa we now have uh… linda in the spring hill florida and linda welcome to the bible and yes good morning good morning sorry with listening uh…
i have a kind of a question and uh… a statement together i was reading a book on uh… portraits of christian genesis and i don’t know if this is the dehann that y’all is here but it was a m r dhan yeah that’s the one i like so much he was a mentor to me as a young believer he’s not having with the lord right well then i’m so glad i got the book but i was reading his uh…
perspective on adam and adam sin and and i’m thinking you know how we always beat up on adam uh… because he he knew any sin but he gave a different perspective and he said that uh… here he the one you love the most before besides god you know after god she’s not condemned she’s eating the fruit she’s been fooled by Satan and I’m sure he knew how much he loved her and he’s trying to foil them having generations for God.
And he by choice takes the apple or I’m not the apple but by choice goes with her in her sin because she’d have to produce a seed, a human redeemer and he can’t be it. He’s in holiness with God yet and she’s condemned. And so out of love, he takes on her sin. He identifies himself with her, you know, type of Christ. And he then can produce a seed. He knows what he’s going to have to suffer, but that’s the only way to save her is to produce the woman’s seed to have a redeemer.
And I thought, wow, no one ever brought that point out. beautiful because that’s really when you talk about the picture of Christ that he died if there was just one person he died for he would have come for them and the only way he can come of course is for them to have other generations and tell it was his appointed time but but it it’d be almost like as if he was coming for her. Well, amen and it’s a beautiful picture that isn’t it and it’s a picture of Christ’s love for us.
And Adam obviously loved his wife and he was not deceived according to 1 Timothy chapter 2, but Eve was deceived in the transgression, but Adam was not. He chose to deliberately take of it and obviously in doing so, they both were condemned and they both then became redeemed by the blood of the future Lamb of Christ that was pictured to them by the covering that God made for them out of the coats of skins of animals which spoke of an innocent animal being slain, their blood being shed, and the covering being their very skin which is a picture of Christ as he was without sin and he was slain, his blood was shed, and his righteousness becomes the covering of of the believer.
It’s a beautiful story and and M.R. and Hahn is one of the best and we’re going to try to start adding some of his books to our resource center soon so that others can get in on those great jewels that he presents in his books. Right. Well, the part that amazed me was how I missed it, that the connection of how Jesus left his perfect state and came to us because of that love, and how Adam because of that love, and the only way to savor was to bring about that seed of the woman.
And I don’t know how I missed it. Some of the things are right there. Are you there, Dr. Hank? I’m right here. Great. It’s quiet. some of the things are right there in front of us but we we just brush over and we miss other point it’s like a diamond with all these cuts and you you see one cut and then you miss the other cut that’s glittering at you and then spirit drops that jewel right in your brain and you’re like wow.
And I just thought that was beautiful. Well I thank you for sharing it. You know the wonderful thing is that the Bible is filled with this where throughout your whole life you can continue to read and learn and and glean new things and I’m still learning exciting things from the Bible which is such a joy. Thank you so much Linda we appreciate that call we now have Chris and St. Petersburg and Chris welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.
Yes how you doing today sir? Good. I had a quick question I don’t know if I can say the name of somebody or not but he actually read a book and he started like a new church in Tampa and it’s about helping the poor and I’m not sure if you’ve heard of it or not. I don’t think I have, but go ahead. What is the doctor or the problem? Brian Sanders. I don’t know the name, but go ahead. What is the teaching?
Well, the church that he’s actually started is a church where people live in the same house and they help out prostitutes and drug users. They’re right there in downtown Tampa. They’re renting a hall at Hillsboro community college and it’s about helping the poor and stuff. What’s your feelings of? Well, I think we ought to reach the poor, but I think sometimes you need to be very cautious. You know, in the book of Jude, it talks about being careful when we witness that we don’t get burnt by the sins of those that we’re trying to reach, and especially reaching the prostitutes and drug users and so on.
Sometimes I can come back and bite you. Not that we We shouldn’t win them to Christ, but we need to be careful, especially if we bring them in and are living in with them. In any case, I applaud the fact that they’re trying to help the poor, which we ought to do, but it makes me nervous that they might get stunned if they aren’t very careful in how they carry that out. But as long as their doctrine is correct, that’s great.
But unfortunately today so many are in the bad doctrine and they teach the poor drug user or prostitute that they have to change their life to be saved when it’s Christ who saves us and then the power to change our life comes as a result of the Holy Spirit dwelling in us. And it’s not us doing something to be saved, but it’s Christ who saves us and then gives us the power to have victory after we’re saved. We now have Dave in St.
Petersburg and Dave. Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning Pastor. I’d like to go through the callers to how things are going to be ruled. It’s in Revelation 2, 26 and 27 basically explains that we’re going to be rolling with the rod of iron so that she wants to lift that up. And I have another thing I just saw in the, it always happens on the late news last night. that apparently that Russia has moved in some warships and anti-submarine ships into the Arctic Ocean to try to take the oil field, the oil field is out there yet, but they’re trying to secure that area right now.
Isn’t that something I tell you? This thing about oil and the greed and desire of man to control it is what’s going to bring about the Battle of Armageddon. I’m just leaving it the rapture, but we can see it as the countries get more of an appetite China India these countries are wanting more and more oil and Obviously They’re gonna go to war over and that’s what Armageddon’s all about Yeah, and it’s gonna be like a split second. Yeah missiles are gonna start flying Right and I’m just glad that we’re gonna be raptured out before the Battle of Armageddon and before the tribulation period and we’re going to miss the worst.
Although it looks like it’s getting worse every day and we might go through a part of some of the bad things, but we’ll not go through any of the seven years tribulation which we are really praising the Lord about. Yeah, so my I agree. I think I think we’re probably gonna see a little bit of it and then it’s just gonna be Trumpet sound and we’re out here. We go. Well, thank you Dave for that call. We appreciate your input We now have sizzin in clear water And Susan, welcome to Bibleline.
You’re on the air. Oh, thank you very much. Good morning. How are you? Good. Good. Good. I have a question. I just got reading done reading the book 23 minutes in hell by Bill Weiss. Yeah. And what’s happened is, I mean, I know that we’re supposed to hold people back from going to the flood, from going to hell. And I want to just now run out and grab everybody, you know, by the color and shake it. Like, you have to listen to me.
You have to understand what’s going to happen to you. you don’t listen if you don’t turn to jesus but i know that when i was a new believer used to do this to a lot of people and what ends up happening because they were not ready to hear this message i would end up pushing them away so i’m now in this term i just want i want to tell everybody because you know you don’t want to see any soul tormented and help my gosh it’s just a horrible even thought that you know i’m like lord please show me i mean if i go and talk to this person is it going to because they’re not ready to hear this message and i go into push them away should I talk to them, should I not talk to them?
Let me recommend that book that we have, Handbook of Personal Evangelism. It really tells you how to do this without offending them or pushing them away. And it really is gonna be the answer to your prayers. By the way, on that book, that’s totally unscriptural. There’s nobody in hell yet. So that’s all a fiction, because the Bible says that Satan and his angels are gonna be the first to be cast into hell. and then everybody in the human race will be brought about a few days where they’re now waiting uh…
tell satan’s cast in the hell and then they’ll be cast in the eternal like a fire so there is nobody in hell so obviously this person in writing his book is telling you some fiction because he has been held because nobody’s been in hell yet it’s still empty all of that’s good to know i want to stop anybody from turning in that direction because absolutely why i’m glad that you have that result from the reading the book but The book is not scriptural, but the truth of hell is real.
And obviously, we need to try to win people and prevent people from going there by trusting in the wonderful gospel message that salvation’s a gift and been paid for. But the book we have on evangelism, and I had a 10-hour course I taught on how to lead a soul to Christ, that I think would be very helpful too, to be able to know how to do it without driving somebody away, but actually winning them to Christ. It’s like a wet noodle.
You can’t push a wet noodle without it all bunching up, but you can pull a noodle. And obviously we need to attract them and win them, not push them. And that’s the difference. And I think you’ll find this will be helpful to you if you want to call and ask our operators about ordering some of that stuff. And what was that called? Handbook of Personal Evangelism. OK, great. And we also have some wonderful tracks and other tools that really work and helping you lead your friends of Christ thank you for your burden and desire to win the losses thank you so much about that okay thank you and uh…
great that she’ll be able to leave a lot of people to Christ we have matthew in spring hill florida matthew uh… welcome to bible and you’re on the air and my question of all around revelation twenty one twenty three uh… and in the new to roosel on when god is the light there’s no need for uh… on our moon are we ever actually going to see the father or is Christ just the one that’s going to dwell with us for eternity?
I believe we’re not going to see the Father because he’s a spirit and we might see the glory or the glow or whatever it might be but we’ll truly see Jesus for all eternity and that’s part of God’s plan that he would take him on a human body and become one of us and when we are fellowshipping with the Lord in eternity it will be Jesus that we will be physically seeing and touching and fellowshipping with. Okay, so in dispensationalism what does it mean when Christ is going to hand over the Kingdom to the Father?
Well it’s talking about at the end of the thousand year reign then obviously he turns it back over to God the Father. He creates the new heavens and new earth and of course then Jesus will live in that New Jerusalem with us which I believe will be orbiting the planet earth and will be in that beautiful city. Thank you, Hank. Thank you, Matthew, for calling in and we now have Dan in St. Petersburg. Dan, welcome to Bob when you’re on the air.
Hello, Dr. Liff. Good speaking with you. I have a question and more specific. Pastor at our church is quite adamant about the fact that people are still speaking in tongues today. I know that your teachings are not in tune with that. I’ve got a little bit of confusion and I’d love to hear what you have to say about that. Okay. Tell him to go to the mall with me. I’d love to see it use that in public. They don’t like to use it in public because they know that people will not respond well to this gibberish.
They’re not speaking a known foreign language, but it says in 1 Corinthians 14, 22, tongues are for a sign. not to those that believe, but to those that believe not. So it’s a sign for unbelievers, and I tell people, go with me to the mall, I’ll get a crowd. If I have to freak out, I’ll get you a crowd, and then I’ll introduce you, you speak in your gift. And if we have the real gift here, we’re gonna have a revival.
And I’ll even buy you a steak dinner. Nobody’s gone. I’ve been inviting people to do that for decades. And nobody wants to do that in public. I have to run because of the time. Dan, we’ll talk more about it tomorrow. In the meantime, I hope everybody listening has trusted Jesus as their Savior. And if you haven’t, just tell the Lord Lord I’m his sinner, but I believe or trust that Jesus died for me. And by His death and shed blood purchase my salvation.
Again, we’re at the end of July, a couple more days and we’re short. We can sure use your help if you would call and give a gift today that would be so appreciated or call an S for an envelope and mail a gift in the Bible and that would be great. God bless all of you and thank you in advance for praying and giving to Bible unto a nadeless to continue to be on the air in your area. We’re going to have to say goodbye, but we’ll be back again tomorrow.
And I hope you’ll join me all this week. And in the meantime, keep looking up. I’m Dr. Anke Lindstrom, and I’ll be back tomorrow. In the meantime, look up because Jesus is coming, and we believe soon. You’ve been listening to Bibleline, a presentation of Bibleline Ministries of Tapp of Florida. We’re talking about evangelism today and that book, handbook on personal evangelism, is a gem. It’s a jewel.
