And we’re going to be having a dinner, as we do every third Sunday, right after the morning worship service. So come and join us for the 1030 service and bring your appetite, your family, your Bible, and then join us for the dinner that will follow. And then make it a day. And by the way, we’re going to have a baptism on this this third Sunday the 17th of August at 3 in the afternoon and a late near the Bible and headquarters here.

And if you’ve not been water baptized, we would invite you to be baptized at this baptism. And maybe you don’t have a church home where you could go and get baptized. Or maybe you don’t have a church that actually puts people under the water, immersion. And we’d be happy to do it if you’d like to be a part of our baptism. call in, get your name on the list, and that’ll be for the 17th of August at 3 o’clock in the afternoon.

Make it a day, come at the 1030 service time, stay for the lunch right after the morning service, and then hang out with us and go to the baptism, which will be just a couple of miles away from here. Bible and headquarters. Love to have you. And I hope that you’ll do that. If you were baptized as an infant, that doesn’t count. If you were baptized prior to your salvation, that doesn’t count. Water baptism, biblically, is a testimony of the fact that you’ve been cleansed of your sin by the blood of Christ.

And that happens after you have become saved. So I hope that you will take advantage and join us for this third Sunday. Of course, you can come any Sunday. If we’d love to have you come this Sunday. But if you want to join us, and you live in another state, you can do it by the internet. Go to BibleLineMinistries.org and you can join our morning worship service live or catch it in our kind. You can join our radio program live from anywhere in the world by going to BibleLineMinistries.org and clicking on the spinning globe.

Let me just say a word about our resource center. We have lots of wonderful books and Bibles. We have that old school field Bible that I recommend. You know most Bibles have biographical, geographical, historical information and I have every one of them in my library and they’re great for Bible trivia. It’s always great to know how many missionary journeys Paul took and how many miles he traveled and what cities he visited and which ones he went to on which particular journey and all those kind of things.

They’re just kind of fascinating. But guess what? The one Bible that really is geared to doctrine is the skill-feel reference Bible. If you want to know about angels, if you want to know about demons, if you want to know about heaven, if you want to know about hell, if you want to know about chill or Hades, or if you want to know about inspiration or creation, or if you want to know about justification, glorification, predestination, redemption, all the major doctrines of the Bible are covered and made so clear.

And this is the Bible you really need to have. The Bible says in 2 Timothy 3 16, all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine. That’s number one right at the top. You need to know what the Bible teaches to be able to have discernment to know when you’re hearing something that is not taught in the Bible. And boy today you have to be on guard more than ever because of the deception that’s out there today.

We were living in the last days and Jesus Christ is about ready to come back. And I’m not a date setter, but I sure believe it may not be very long. And all of us who know Christ as our Savior will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air and will be a part of a group that will never die. Isn’t that exciting? And I can’t wait. And I’m looking forward to meeting you in the air because we’ll all meet together in one place at one time and we’ll be with Jesus then forever thereafter.

a grand day that will be. You’ll meet with those that have died before you that are believers. It’s going to be a wonderful, wonderful reunion and we call it the meeting in the air according to 1 Thessalonians chapter 4. Do you have your Bible handy? Well, we’re going to get into it and we welcome you to call us the phone number here’s 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Everybody needs to be in their Bible and if you’re not in the Bible then you’re not going to be very spiritually strong.

The Bible it says is our spiritual food. Jesus said in Matthew 4, men shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeded out of the mouth of God. So we need to be in the Bible. It is our food we need more than bread. We need spiritual food which is the word of God to sustain us and to keep us on track. And if you’re not in the Bible, then I believe you’re not going to be an effective Christian.

You’re going to be weak. You’ll be ineffective because to be strong, you have to eat. And to be strong spiritually. You have to eat God’s Word. You have to be on a regular basis. And I hope that you are. And you know the Bible is such an incredible book that God of course tells us that we need to actually be alert to what it says so that we can recognize when we’re hearing something contrary to it. Let me give you one of my favorite verses.

This is Jeremiah chapter 23 verse 18. It says, who have stood in the counsel of the Lord? That is somebody who is listening to what God is saying. If you want to hear what God is saying, you have to be in the Bible or you’re not listening. Because God speaks to us, not out of the bushes and out of the grass and out of the clouds and out of the sky, he speaks to us through his written word. He’s given us a book, 66 books in one, and we call it the Bible.

And it is the word of God. And we believe that every bit of it is inspired of God. And in the original autographs was absolutely without error, error, that it is the infallible, inerrant, word of gun. Well, it says in verse 18 of Jeremiah 23. For who have stood in the counsel of the Lord and who have perceived and heard his word? Well, obviously it’s somebody who applies himself to study this book and you and I need to be alert to it Then it says who have marked his word and heard it here talks about marking the word of God I think it’s not talking about with a pen although I like to do that.

I highlight my Bible I was raised in a home prior to my salvation, a Christian home so called, although none of us were saved, so none of us were Christians. But we were church going people, and we were told never to mark our Bible. The Bible was kind of like a special book that you would never lay anything on top of, that you would never lay it on the floor. It was always to be put in a safe or secure place.

You would never dare write in it or draw in it. That would be a sacrilege. And you know, my Bible was in perfect mint condition because I never used it. It was just like a special thing. I think if the preacher was coming over, you wanted to show you how to Bible so that would be out on a coffee table. But we never read the Bible. We never knew what it had to say. little did I realize that this is a workbook and God doesn’t mind if we mark his Bible.

And of course, I don’t think it’s talking about underlining as I do, but it says here, who have marked his word? At least mentally mark in your mind chapter and verse. Where is it say these different things that God says? Well, in any case, it tells us here that this is a message for the latter days. In verse 20, it says, the anger of the Lord shall not return. Jeremiah 23-20. Until he has executed, until he has performed the thoughts of his heart in the latter days, in the latter days, in the latter days, you shall consider it perfectly.

God in the latter days is going to bring quite a number of things to pass. Christ will come back and rule and reign on this planet. He will judge the earth. And we find here that What he’s saying here in Jeremiah 23 would become really alive in the latter days, which we’re living in right now. Now, what is he talking about here? He’s talking about false preachers. It says in verse 21, I have not sent these preachers yet they ran.

I have not spoken to them yet they prophesied. Isn’t that amazing? There’s a lot of preachers out there that God has never sent. God has never spoken to. And what are they doing? They’re preaching the imagination of their own heart according to the Bible. It says, If verse 22, if they had stood in my counsel and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil ways and from the evil of their doings.

Am I a God at hand, sayeth the Lord, and not a God far off? God says, do not I fill heaven and earth, sayeth the Lord? He says, I’m not ignorant about what’s going on here. He says, I’ve heard what the preachers say, that preach lies in my name saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed. Well, it says here, how long shall this be in the heart of the preachers that preach lies? Yay, they are the preachers of the deceit of their own heart.

A lot of people are preaching whatever they make up, whatever is the imagination of their heart and they’re not preaching what God has said within his word. God says, who is the one who is obviously in my word that have stood in my counsel and heard my word and have marked my word. Who is that person? Well obviously every one of us ought to become that person. Then it goes on to say here that it says in verse 26, how long shall it be in the heart of the preachers that preach lies, yea, they are the preachers of the deceit of their own heart, which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams, which they tell everyone to their neighbor as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal.

Here we find that the Word of God is not being taught. People come up and are raised in a church that don’t know the Lord as their Savior, and I was raised in a church like that. I was confirmed. I was baptized. I was homogenized. I was pasteurized. I was cap-sized. I was Simonized. If you, it was a treatment, I went through it. But you know, I was never saved. And obviously, the plan of salvation got lost in the church I was raised in.

The preacher, nor anyone else, was saved. Look at verse 28 now, Jeremiah 23. The preacher that had a dream, go ahead and let him tell his dream. But he that have my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chief to the wheat, saith the Lord? Is not my word like a fire, saith the Lord, like a hammer that breaketh the rock and pieces? God says in verse 30, therefore behold I am against the preachers, saith the Lord, that steal my words, everyone from his neighbor.

You know they actually steal away the word of God today and we see that in our modern translations where they delete, delete, delete, delete, delete, there are thousands of deletions in many of the modern translations that are out there on the market. people are buying. And God is very upset because they are stealing away the words that are in His Word. Unbelievable. But it’s amazing that it’s happening. You know that phrase, get behind me Satan that Christ spoke is totally deleted from the new American Standard Bible.

In John 647 where it says, he to believeth on me has everlasting life. The on me is gone. So it’s meaningless. It says, he believes has eternal life. That’s not true. You have to believe on Christ to have everlasting life, to be saved. And these things are happening every day and it’s subtle and you don’t realize it unless it’s pointed out to you sometimes. God says in verse 31, Behold, I am against the preachers that say, Thus save the Lord.

And they use their tongues and say, He’s saved. It’s amazing how preachers will quote God And when God says, I didn’t say that, I didn’t say that. They are saying that I’m saying things that I didn’t say. And God has got to be really upset with this. Well God says that He is, and He says I’m against the preachers. Verse 32, I am against them that preach false dreams, say of the Lord, and do tell them, cause my people to err by their lies, by their lightness, yet I sent them not, nor commanded them.

Therefore they shall not profit this people at all, say of the Lord, they are absolutely a waste to everybody because they are not preaching the Bible. It’s the Bible that’s the word of God. That’s the word that needs to be preached. And it’s the word of God that’s living in powerful and brings life to a person who’s unsaved. And when you believe the message of the gospel that Jesus died and shed his blood and paid your sin dead and full of the cross was buried in rose again from the dead.

When you trust him as your only hope of heaven, God saves you. And you can do that right now wherever you might be. You can say, Lord, I am a sinner and we all are. But God, I trust right now Jesus Christ as the one who died and paid for those sins of mind by his death. And then he was buried and then he rose again from the dead. I trust him right now as my Savior to forgive my sins, to give me the gift of eternal life and the moment you do God saves you.

I’m Dr. Anker, and we’re going to go to the callers today. We have, first of all, in Lake Worth, Florida, Lovedita and Loveda, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Thank you, Dr. Hank. It’s good to speak with you again. Thank you. I have a couple of quick questions and then one is where in the Bible were the concepts of heaven and health first mentioned genesis one one in the beginning god created the heavens and the earth i think it’s all the way back there and obviously uh…

throughout the bible the he bears chapter eleven is a great chapter tells us that all of the old testament saints and talks there about able that’s the son of adam and then it talks about uh… a braham and sera of course inneek and those that live before the flood no one and if you read he was eleven look at me just put on this passage i’m turning there right now but what a great one it tells us they all look forward to and believed that there was a future city that they would live in the city of the living God the New Jerusalem where every believer will one day live in the presence of God I’m turning the Hebrews and I just went right by it here hold on one second okay so as far as and let me just clarify but let me read this first to you it says here these all died in faith this is the

hall of fame chapter Hebrews 11. These all died in faith not having received the promises but having seen them afar off and were persuaded of them and embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country and truly if they had been mindful of that country from which they came out they might have been had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country that is a heavenly where for God is not ashamed to be called their God for he have prepared for them a city so it’s telling us here that all these old doesn’t say it’s beginning even with able new about heaven knew about the heavenly city and they were looking forward they said on the surface we’re just strangers and pilgrims we’re passing through but they knew they had a city

waiting for them to live in that’s heaven okay so that basically is where first talks about the afterlife of heaven. Oh, right from the very get-go, yeah. And obviously Abel, it says in Hebrews 11, offered up a sacrifice that gave witness to his faith in Jesus. He offered up a lamb, and it was a picture of the lamb of God Jesus being slain to pay for our sins. And it says when God received that sacrifice, he obtained witness that he was righteous.

He was already saved and declared righteous in God’s sight by faith in the coming Savior who would die to pay for his sins. Okay, so the first concept of heaven and hell were first mentioned. Right in the book of Genesis. All the way on. And Hebrews 11 is a wonderful chapter that just kind of summarizes all of that for you. Okay. And my second thing was I have a cousin who accepted Christ as his Savior when he was about 13.

And he lived as a Christian until he was about 30. He was really a Christian. And I know he was sincere. I mean, we were close. You can tell. But he became a big time Wall Street lawyer. And when he was in his early 30s, he began to proclaim that he was an atheist. And under circumstances like this, could he lose a salvation? I mean, I know you might think he wasn’t sincere when he accepted Christ. But honestly, everybody around him thought he was.

And I honestly believe he was. I mean his whole countenance changed. And I think he felt like he became too smart for having blind faith or something. But it was amazing. Well he, if he ever did say it, he’s forever saved. But sometimes it says in 1 John 2 19, he needed to look it up. It says they went out from us and that was because they were not of us and it was made manifest that they weren’t because they went out.

So sometimes when a person departs like that, it really reveals the fact that they never were a believer. I hope that’s not the case with him because we’d like to see him go to heaven. But if he ever did trust Jesus as his Savior and really truly was saved, then he could not lose it for any reason. Okay, that’s what I believe. But I just, you know, I had no faith in whatever that happens. So I worry about whether they ever really were saved or not.

And of course it’s our obligation to assume that they maybe weren’t so that we continue to work on them, unless they really go to hell if they haven’t trusted Christ. We don’t just want to say, okay, they’re safe. They one time did trust the Lord. We don’t really know that for a fact. They may have given that appearance, but maybe they didn’t really. I sure thought he did. Everybody did. We’re going to find out some surprises here. I think some that we thought did didn’t really and others that we didn’t think did.

Maybe really indeed did trust the Lord to save you. I don’t know, but I don’t, I remember my dad getting saved. I led him to Christ and then we led his father to Christ. my dad was very concerned about his dad. And we would oftentimes on a Sunday afternoon, my dad would get me in the car and said, let’s go over and check out granddad. We’d get him out on the back porch and grill him until we were assured that he was saved that we’d try to trick him with questions.

And, and we, we were assured when he died at ninety six that there was no question about his salvation. So I think we just need to keep on with everybody and make sure that the ones that we love and care about are saved indeed. And so you might say to me in my book that we have one here in our resource that are called Evidence of the Man’s of Erdick. And it’s a challenge for those that are lawyers that think that way and want to deal with evidence.

The evidence for the Bible is overwhelming and this is an incredible book, well documented. I found that it’s very effective in leading lawyers to Christ. I give it to lawyers to give to lawyers that are saved and we’re trying to rid an unseaved lawyer friends to Christ. It is powerful. Okay. It’s called evidence of what? The demands of verdict by Josh McDowell. We have it in our resource center here. We can ship it up to you and you might want to send him that as a gift.

Okay. Definitely probably take a look at that. Okay. LaVita, thank you so much and we now are going to go to Brenda in Tampa and Brenda welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hello. Hi Brenda. Hi. I have a couple of quick questions if I can present into you and then maybe I’ll hang up and I’m not sure that the what I’m carrying on my computer is today’s show. Well, if you’re hearing the same thing you’re hearing right now on the telephone then it is.

Okay, I’ll turn it back up again. I had a couple of questions about so many churches now have gotten away from calling themselves Pentecostal or Baptist or something that tells people like me what kind of church they are, like community and fellowship and things like that. And I wonder if there’s a reason for that. I think there is. I think they just don’t really want to reveal sometimes what they really are or what they really believe. So you really have to do your homework sometimes and ask the questions up front before you get involved and then your heart is broken when you discover they’re not really what they are made out to be.

Is there a reason why they don’t want to declare what they are? Are they fighting something or? I think they want to just be all inclusive. Obviously this is kind of like what the Oprah Winfrey deal is all about. That there are many ways to heaven and they just kind of incorporate everything and just bring everybody in and one happy family. But they’re not proclaiming the Word of God if they do that because there’s obviously one way to heaven as Jesus only.

I’m going to have to go to break. I’ll hold you over to break if you want to continue with me, Brenda. But we’re at the end of the first half hour. Time goes by so quickly. I hope everybody listening is trusted Christ. Again, we’re in the summer. We’re running short here a little bit. We could use your help if you want to give a gift to help Bible. I now call and give one by credit card over the phone or ask for an envelope to be sent and mail your gift in.

We certainly need your help, especially here during the month of August, the summertime, a slow time. We’re a little bit behind. We could use your help to catch up and come out even at the end of August. So if you’d like to give a gift, you could call in and tell our operators and leave a gift by credit card over the phone or call an ask for an envelope to be sent and we’ll mail that envelope out and you can mail your gift back in to Bibleline.

We have a new brochure for Israel. It’s on the internet right now. If you go to my website Bibleline Ministries, click on Bibleline News just above the camera and it’s in two parts. We’ll leave the 23rd of February for Israel, 10 days in Israel. And if you want to go on the extension, we’ll leave earlier, seven days earlier, and we will go to Egypt. We’ll visit the Pyramids. We’ll visit the Cairo Museum. We’ll stay at the beautiful Marriott Hotel on an island in the middle of downtown Cairo in the middle of the Nile River, and that is a beautiful, beautiful place to say.

25 million people in Cairo, the largest city on the continent of Africa, and we’ll have a dinner cruise on the Nile River. It’ll be a wonderful experience and what an excitement that will be. We’ll also take the Exodus route and drive along the Red Sea, where the children of Israel left Egypt and went and we’re going to go up to a lot a beautiful vacation city on the Red Sea where people come from all over the world to Scuba Dive.

The waters are so clear and so full of life and we will see people there coming from all over the world to just jet ski and sail and Scuba Dive and enjoy the sun and the water. And we’ll then travel over into Petra in Jordan, the rock city where the Jewish people flee from the Antichrist, 40 square miles of city carved out of the rock called one of the seven new modern wonders of the world. And then of course after those seven days are up we’ll drive into Israel and meet our group coming in for just Israel and the rest of the time we’ll all be together exploring everything in Israel.

You want to take a look at the brochure go to BibleLineMinistries.org. Just about the camera there to Bible and news, then click on the Israeli tour brochure. But if you’d like to give us your address and have us mail your brochure, we’ll be happy to do that. Just call us and leave your name and address and we’ll be glad to send out a brochure to you. We are going to go back to Brenda here who’s been on the line with us.

And Brenda has been holding over the break and thank you for your patience. I wanted to share with you a verse here in Ephesians chapter 2 where it talks about those that are…it was hard for me to take this when I first read it, but we need to grow up as Christians to be familiar with our Bibles. It says verse 14 that we, henceforth, be no more children, tossed about and carried about to and fro with every wind of doctrine that comes along by the slide of men and cunning craftiness whereby they lie in wait to deceive.”

And I almost said, is that possible that they actually are not being straight forth and honest and deceiving you? But many times that is true. And you really have to be on guard and know what the Bible says so that you are not taken in and to see by some of the modern-day churches which are are i think uh… not really letting you know exactly who they are when you uh… in her end well i i get that that people do that purposely uh…

the one that that surprises me the most is so often uh… you see people who are studying the word of god they think they know the word about they want to know the word of god and they want to it to express it but they fall into this and even I’m in the process of reading a time of departing by Ray Youngren. . . . . . . . From Lighthouse Trails Publishing. Are you familiar with that? I’m not.

I’ve heard good things about lighthouse trails. Well, he has done a whole book with lots and lots of research about that very thing and how people have fallen into this mysticism. He mentions Oprah thing and he mentions the one who did that book. But the purpose driven life. Yes, Rick Warren. And how they are just so deceived by these little children. pieces of information of mystical practices that have entered into Christian churches. And it started off so subtly that now people aren’t even aware that it’s there, but they’re, they believe it.

And it’s really a very good book and he does do a very, very good job of explaining every little detail which I appreciate as a reader because I always wonder how does this happen. I know. And to me it’s very sad it happens that he does mention the Oprah thing. I did sort of fast forward to that part of the book because I was curious whether or not it was going to be in here, but it has been updated since the original publishing, which that brings me to my next question.

If there’s so much in the Bible, and I have just within a few hours reading the Bible online, I have a very good website that I go to that you can punch in your subject. How is it that I just a lay person can find so much that tells me to be aware of this, to avoid it, to listen to what God says and don’t believe all of these things? How is it that these people spend all these years educating themselves, going to Bible school, Bible studies, some of them are ordained?

I know. And come up with something entirely different than what the Bible says and they believe it like it’s the gospel because it came from something that sounds easier to do than what the Bible says. I don’t know that just prizes me. Well, I think the turn key is that they need to know the Lord is our Savior. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 2, 14, the natural man, that is the unsaved man, the person is not born again, that’s not had the second birth.

The things of God are foolishness to him. Neither can he know them because they are spiritually discerned. So the unsaved person can read the Bible and not get anything out of it. It’s amazing that a lot of people have told them I read the Bible through, I don’t know how many times, yet they don’t have a clue as to what it has to say. And the reason why is because the turn key is to trust Christ. Then God illuminates our understanding and all of a sudden it’s like the light comes on and you can understand the scripture.

Of course, it’s a lifelong pursuit to really become very, very familiar with your Bible. But a child can all of a sudden begin to grasp wonderful truths from God’s Word as soon as they have that experience where they actually trust Jesus as their Savior and receive the gift of eternal life and become saved. And I think that’s really part of it. Many of these people are not saved and they’re talking about some kind of spiritual experience, but they just are blind to really what the Bible says.

And the Bible teaches that that’s the way the Bible is written. It’s written where it’s a spiritual book and it’s spiritually discerned and the person that is not born again just it’s foolishness. When I hear people say that the Bible doesn’t make any sense to me or the Bible just a lot of foolishness, it’s a tip off to me. They probably are not saved. They don’t know the Lord as their Savior. And the devil is at work. Of course, in the end times, the Bible said there would be this departure from sound doctrine and we’re seeing it everywhere.

Yes, I think so. And that brings me to my last question. And I know this comes up a lot and I know you’ve answered it many, many times about the one saved, always saved philosophy that a lot of Protestant churches preach it and other Protestant churches don’t. And I wonder if you can explain to me first where if they’re not preaching that, my brother is Pentecostal and they do not preach that, mainly because of where it says in the Bible, if you are doing these things and it gives a long list of things, fornication and all of those things that you’re not saved.

Well, it does become born-again Christians. They regress back into their old ways. Were they never saved or are they saved? And they’re just doing these certain sins because it says, it doesn’t say if you’re saved and you’re doing these things, you’ll go to heaven. It says you will not go to heaven if you’re doing these things. Okay. It really doesn’t say that. Let me just take you to 1 Corinthians 6 and let me go through this passage with you.

Here it says in verse 9, 1 Corinthians 6, No ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Now the unrighteous are according to the Bible defined as the unbeliever. It says in Romans 3 and 10 there is none righteous, no not one. So all of the unsaved are unrighteous because they don’t have the righteousness of God. But when you trust Christ as Savior, God declares you righteous, judicially based upon Christ’s substitutionary death in your place, and God sees the believer as righteous.

So right up front we know in 1 Corinthians 6-9 is talking about unbelievers, they are the unrighteous, and it says, don’t be deceived. Neither fornicators nor adulters nor adulterers nor feminine nor abusers of themselves of mankind. Here’s the list you’re talking about verse 10, North Thieves, nor Cabbages, nor Drunkards, nor Vilers, nor extortioners shall inherit the Kingdom of God. And obviously is talking about lost people not going to heaven that any of these things, even a lie, would be enough to condemn me to help.

But here’s the key verse verse 11, Brenda, it says, and such Such were some of you, but you are washed. You are sanctified. You are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. The believer now is seen by God as being washed. He is seen by God as being sanctified. It means made pure and holy in God’s sight. He is seen as justified, which is a legal term that says that you are declared in God’s court of law as righteous based upon Christ’s death.

Here’s the interesting part, verse 12, it says, all things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient. Paul is saying here, because every one of my sins, past, present, and future, were judged at the cross and paid for by Christ’s death at the cross. I can never be charged again with those crimes because you can’t be tried twice for the same crimes. So all of the sins of my whole lifetime have already been judged and paid for, and therefore it says I could really do anything and I would still go to heaven.

But it says that’s not a smart thing to do. All things are not expedient. Then he says that a second time, all things are lawful for me. I could really do anything as a Christian and not go to hell because already I’ve been judged at the cross and all my sins past, present, and future were paid for and judged at the cross. It says, but I will not be brought under the power of any. Paul is saying I could do anything and it’s still good of heaven, but he said that’s not smart.

There are a couple of things that go on here. Christ will discipline or spank or chasten the delinquent believer. So you’re going to have God all over your case if you live willfully in sin after you become saved. Secondly, there’s a day of accounting coming when you’re going to be judged for what you’ve done since you’ve been saved and had it has to do with rewards in heaven. So you might come out with no rewards in heaven and suffer that loss and be embarrassed because you have not lived for Christ and be ashamed when you stand before the Lord.

The Bible talks about Christians need to be into the Word and serving so that they’re not ashamed when they stand before Him one day. But it is true though that, and I shared this with a lawyer friend who’s a believer and he said, wow, I’ve never seen that before. And he thought that was so incredible that the Bible actually comes out and says that nothing could ever condemn me. That’s what it says in Romans. It says, who can lay any charge to those that are God’s elect?

And it is God that justifies, and that’s the reason why. Every sin that we would ever commit has already been laid upon Jesus, and He paid for it, and we have been declared righteous in God’s court of law. no one can ever lay a charge against you or me or any of the believer that would cause us to be lost. That’s why it says in Romans 8, 38, and 39, I am persuaded that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor things present or things to come.

Their height, their depth, or any other creation shall be able to separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus. So basically what we have here is two philosophies. There’s works for salvation and those that teach you can lose it are really saying you You have to work to get it and keep it. And those who believe that it’s all paid for by Christ, and that’s the true plan of salvation, and they believe they’re saved eternally because Christ not only saves us, but He promises to keep us safe.

Okay. I wonder where the Pentecostals are getting that, exactly, that you’re not saved. You’re not always saved if you do not live righteously. Do you know where they’re? They really just take verses that deal with the Christian life and loss of salvation and apply it to salvation, which is, they wrongly divide the word. Obviously, a believer cannot be lost. The verses are quite clear. But it’s a workspace philosophy. These people are trying to work their way to heaven. And they’ll say things like, like one guy recently said, I know that I know that I know that I’m saved.

and i’ll never be lost because he said in this guy said because i will never stop going to church because i will never stop reading my bible and and and and that is all the works that are falling out of his mouth because i will never you know uh… turn my back on jesus so this person saying that they know they’re going to happen because they’re never gonna stop going to church they’re never gonna stop reading their bible and they’re never gonna stop loving the lord and and they list this uh…

whole list of good works and good deeds that they’re trusting in the Kingdom of Heaven. That’s why they’re not going to make heaven because they’re trusting in their works and not in Christ. And every one of them will say, well, yeah, I’m going to heaven, but, and then they’ll list off all the wonderful good works that they’re doing. We’re not saved by our works. We’re saved by what, as like the dying thief, he simply believed on Christ. And Christ said, today, that’ll show me with me in paradise.

We’re saved eternally from the moment we trust Christ. really are you saved by works or you saved by God’s grace? Well, I do know that you’re not saved by work and I know the Pentecostals know that you’re not saved by work. They say that, but in reality they still believe it. You know, I’ve had Pentecostals come to me and they’ll say, I can lose my salvation. I say, let me see if I’ve got this right. You’re telling me that from this point right now, until I die, that if I live the Christian life, I’ll go to heaven.

Yeah, that’s right. That’s exactly what we’re saying. Now you’re telling me, let’s see if I get this right, from this point right now, if I don’t live for Christ, and I backslide and I die, I’ll go to hell. They said, that’s exactly what we’re saying. I said, well, that’s works, because you’re telling me what I do between now and death is ultimately what determines my salvation name, makes me the Savior, makes salvation based upon works. And obviously, you’re not saved if you’re trusting in your life and what you’re gonna do with your life to be saved.

It’s all about what happened at the cross 2000 years ago, where Jesus said it’s finished. He paid the sin debt then. But all these people are really, and when you draw it out on paper, then all of a sudden you go silent and they say, you know, you’re right. You point out that between now and death, what they do determines their salvation. That’s works.

And they’ll say in one breath, they’re not trusting in their works, and yet they are. I remember one guy I talked to, and I said, you’re trusting in your works. He said, no, I’m not, I said, yes, you are. He said, no, I’m not a sedgissure. He said, no, I’m not a sedgissure. And then I showed it on paper like that. And he got silent. He said, yes, I am.

But they’re really saying what they’re doing between now and death determines their salvation. That’s works. Well, my brother always goes back to the same part of the Bible that you read out loud about if you are a delter, a fornicator, and all of those things, you will not inherit the kingdom of God. You will not. say you will if you’re saved you won’t if you’re not saved. He’s not reading verse 11 though he says and such were some of you but you notice the difference there the believer is considered washed sanctified justified in the name of the Lord Jesus so once you trust Christ you are no longer seen as a foreign dictator or an adulterer or thief or covetous God sees the believer as righteous.

2 Corinthians 5, 21 says that God made Christ to be sin for us, Christ who knew no sin, that we may be made the righteousness of God in Him. What these people don’t recognize is that we have to be as righteous as God to go to heaven. One lie would send you to hell. But only by trusting Christ and his substitutionary death, can you be declared righteous by God? And he does that at the moment you believe and it’s a forever thing.

From the moment you trust Christ, you are judicially declared righteous in God’s court of law forever. That’s why from the moment you trust Christ, you can never be lost because God is already decreed that you are saved and declared righteousness. Not your righteousness, not my righteousness, but I have the righteousness of Christ. credited to my account and God sees me as though I had never sinned a single sin in my life as a believer. He’s still thinking in terms of man’s righteousness.

If you stand before God in your own deeds or your own righteousness, I don’t care how pure you try to be. Jesus says in Matthew 7, 20, that the Pharisee, which are a group of religious people that worked at being righteous, they get up in the morning and said, I’m going to be perfect today. And he says, except your righteousness exceed the righteousness of the Pharisees, you shall know eyes enter into heaven. So in other words, here were people that worked every day of being perfectly righteous.

And he says that wasn’t good enough because you have to exceed that righteousness. You’d have to be as righteous as God did in heaven. And then at the end of the chapter in chapter seven of Matthew, how perfect? He says you have to be as perfect as your father and heaven is perfect. The only way that can happen is to have God judicially credit your account with that righteousness based on Christ’s substitution and death in your place. and every believer is considered righteous throughout his life.

Whether they repent or not. You got it right. That’s exactly right. Every believer is declared righteous. And that’s the wonderful thing about the gospels. We’re set free. And now we can live to serve, even not worry about our salvation anymore, because that was finished at the cross 2000 years ago. Okay. Hope that helps a little bit. Well, yeah, you had a lot of more things for me to think about, so thank you very much. back in here this again on the internet so you can listen to it slowly and and dissect it and I write some of those down because I didn’t get to write them all down but okay thank you very much you’re welcome thank you for calling in we have so many callers and we spend a lot of time with Brenda but I think it’s important that we deal with these issues because people are very confused we’re

now going to go to Anthony in Miami Florida and Anthony welcome to Bibleline you’re on there. Hey Pastor Hank, how are you doing? I heard the young lady, that was real good those scriptures you gave her about, you know, eternal salvation. I’m right here, go ahead. Yeah, I wanted to make a statement and I also wanted to ask you a question. The statement real quick was, I heard her ask about denominations. I know some people don’t take on a denomination because they don’t want to just be identified by that denomination.

Some people think this denomination only believes this, this one only believes that. and so forth i have a young man who i have a friend of mine who’s a pastor and that’s why he doesn’t associate with the denomination but some of them are like you said are trying to hide stuff i agree agree with the other but this is my question pastor handker you ever heard of peristone that sure have okay what do you feel about his this theory on on uh…

the giant and angels taking off the action and making human uh… babies which became giant before and after the flood and that’s totally wrong. Totally wrong. Yeah, I thought so too, but I say, you know what, let me call Pastor Hank. He’s got a lot of knowledge. You’ve got a lot of wisdom. I had that faith going. First of all, angels are not the sons of God in Genesis chapter 6. Hebrews 1-5, God says, God never called an angel his son.

That ends the story. At number 2 is Matthew 22-30, angels don’t marry. So that part of it. And by the way, Perry Stone has a lot of great stuff on prophecy, but I’ve got two hours of his teaching on why you can lose your salvation and how you’ll lose it if you don’t stay faithful. Oh no, okay. So your salvation message is absolutely wrong. Right. I don’t even listen to him no more. Once I hear that somebody says that you can lose your salvation, I just cut them off.

I’ve got two hours. and I listen to the whole presentation and it’s again the same area where they divide. They think you have to live holy to be saved when the Bible says that the holiness or righteousness of God is imputed or credited to the believer upon belief. And there’s no one that could be saved by living their personal life in holiness because we can’t become as righteous as God by our works no matter how hard we try. We’ve all sinned and have all come short of the glory of God.

Thank you Anthony. Well Pastor Hank, I’ve been about another two weeks, me and my family. I’m looking forward to it. I’ll introduce myself and Pastor Hank once again I want to thank you because when God called me to the ministry and I was confused about a lot of things, I heard so much truth. God bless me to the ministry. So thank you and God bless you. Amen. Well thank you Anthony. We’ve had a lot of people tell us that and a lot of people gone into ministry because of Bibleline.

they got clear answers and they just said, wow, this is worth telling people about. We’re at the end of the hour. I have lots of calls. We just won’t be able to get you today. I’m sorry. You can try to call again tomorrow. Again Bibleline is praying that everybody listening has understood the gospel and is trusting Christ alone to be saved and not trusting in yourself. It’s not a works. It’s not of yourself. It’s the gift of God. It’s by grace or mercy.
