We’re not going to offer any more classes until January, but we have about forty different classes in stock here that we’ve done, including the book of Revelation, the book of Daniel, the book of Zechariah, the book of Matthew, the book of Hebrews, the book of Romans, the book of Jude, and then also many topics like parables, how to lead a soul to Christ, the the Holy Spirit, the Rapture, and so on and so on.

So you might want to take advantage and give us a call and order some of these things that we have. If you’d like to call in today and leave a question or be on air with a question, the number is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. And we have live callers already calling in. I think I’m going to go to Charlie. And Charlie is in Richmond, Virginia. And Charlie, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Hey, how you doing? Good. You have a question for us?

Yes. Make sure you turn your radio off because it’s coming back through. Alright. You have the radio there? Yeah, I get it all. Alright. What is your question? Yeah, I’m calling, um, hello. First of all, have the thanks given to you and I thank God for your ministry. I’m calling the actual question about whenagents come back for the church, about living in the…

Where’s that located in the onward? Well, at the Rapture, we won’t see any devils or demons. We’re gonna see Christ and he’ll come by himself. He’ll shout. First, the saloonians 4, 16 and 17. and we which are living in believers are going to be caught up together with Christ and giving our new bodies on the way up and will be forever with the Lord. So no demons involved in that at all. I wanted to know. Alright. You have a great day.

You too. Thanks for calling in from Richmond, Virginia. If you’d like to call that number is 500-576-3771. We have a home in heaven waiting for us and that home really is the new Jerusalem. What is interesting about the new Jerusalem is one of the things is its tremendous size. Actually it is larger than the moon. How do we know? Well the dimensions given in Revelation 21-16 tell us that it’s 1500 miles wide, 1500 miles deep and 1500 miles high.

Now that is a cube-in shape, and I believe that is the shape of the New Jerusalem. And when you figure out how large that is, it’s hard for us to comprehend, but if you were to design a sphere that would encompass the New Jerusalem, it would have a diameter of 2,600 miles. Now I talk about a sphere because we’re familiar with the moon and the moon has a diameter of 2,160 miles. So obviously the New Jerusalem is considerably larger, a diameter of 2,600 miles in contrast with a diameter of 2,160 miles.

The New Jerusalem is huge and we orbit the new earth and we will live in a city and 12 Gates, each being made out of a single Pearl. Can You Imagine The Size of the The children of Israel. So there are only 12 ways in and out of the city. One of them is named after the 12 sons of Jacob. In other words, if you’re going to enter heaven or the New Jerusalem, you’re going to have to enter into your gate named after a Jew.

That’s right, because the gates are all named after aibling and each gate is made of a single pearl and these gates are open day and night and they’re never closed. There is no nighttime with the New Jerusalem. Also what is interesting and it’s been rather recently that I’ve come to this conclusion, but because the gates are in the shape of a pearl, I believe they are round. You know, it’s interesting in space, in our space station and so on, all the portals between the different passageways and to enter in and out of the space shuttle and so on are all round.

And here you can imagine the New Jerusalem will have twelve gates and apparently they will be round and in the shape of a pearl and each will be named after a Jew. We certainly can’t leave the Jews out can we? Also it says in verse 14 here the wall of the city had twelve foundations and and in them the name of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. So we have twelve patriarchs, the twelve sons of Jacob being the ones that the gates are named after, and then the twelve foundations have the name of the twelve apostles, which by the way were also Jewish.

And so we have really quite a Jewish connection here with the New Jerusalem which is the the city in which one day we will dwell. Only the saved will enter into that city. It says in verse 27, and their snippelin’ no wise, enter into it anything that the file is. Neither whatsoever work of the Bomination or makeeth a lie, but they which are written in the book of life. I’ll never forget hearing this verse the night that I got saved, and when I saw that one lie, not even a single lie, could enter into the New Jerusalem, I realized I was in trouble.

had told three or four lies at that time. That’s not really true either. But you know, I was excluded. I used to think that God had a big scale and that he kind of grated people based on their good works versus their bad works. And if you kind of were not too bad and not too good but kind of hung in there in the middle, you were going to get little did I realize the Bible said that there was no slack here, not even a single lie could enter heaven.

You know when the Bible says the wages of sin is death, it says the wages of sin singular is death. So the payment for one lie would mean you’d have to go to hell forever and ever. I’m so glad that I don’t have to pay for even a single sin of mine that Jesus Christ paid my full sin debt!. Because he did, he can offer me Nauvah eternal life completely free. It tells us in verse 27 that not even a lie will be a later heaven, but the ones that have their names written in the Lamb’s book of life will enter.

In other words, if you have trusted Christ and you have trusted in Jesus as being the Lamb of God that would be slain and shed his blood for the forgiveness of your sinendish, He would be made eligible to enter heaven. And that is, of course, good news. And I trusted Christ at 18, and I received that wonderful gift of everlasting life. And I am so excited that I can know that right now that I’m going to go to heaven whenever I die.

Well, we have Antonio calling in from Spring Hill, Florida, and he says, what happened to the people before Jesus Christ? How were they saved? And the answer is, Antonio, they were saved the same way you and I are saved. They were saved by the death of Christ at Calvary and they simply looked forward to His coming as we look back to His coming. Let me give you a great verse, Antonio. This is a super verse. It’s Acts chapter 10 and here we have the Apostle Peter in one sentence answering your question once and for all.

He says here to Jesus or from the Hebrew, Yeshua give all the prophets witness. That means all the writers of the Old Testament. Moses, who is the writer of the first five books of the Bible, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, talked about Jesus. And again, the word Yeshua, which in English is Jesus, occurs over 130 times in your Old Testament. Peter tells us here to Jesus or to Yeshua, give all the prophets witness, that through his name, whosoever, believe it in him, shall receive the remission of their sins.

So notice, he talks about salvation by faith alone, in Christ alone, that those in the Old Testament that would believe the witness of the prophets, the writers of the Old Testament scriptures, concerning Christ, and believe on Christ, believe on his name that God would forgive their sin that they would receive the remission of their sins. That has got to be super, super good news and thank you for calling in. And that was Antonio up in Spring Hill. No doubt about it.

The city that we’re going to live in one day is coming down from heaven. Apparently, Jesus referred to it in John 14 when he said, In my father’s house are many mansions. If it were not so, he said, I would have told you, but I go to prepare a place for you. And that place is the new Jerusalem, the heavenly city, a city which got himself resides in. In Hebrews chapter 12, it’s called the city of the living God.

It’s called in verse 22 of Hebrews 12, the heavenly Jerusalem. And it’s not talking about the earthly Jerusalem, but it’s talking about the heavenly Jerusalem, the new Jerusalem, a city made by God. In fact, in Hebrews chapter 11, it talks here about a city whose foundations and whose builder and maker is God. And so And so God is the builder of the city and it is in the north I believe in the universe and apparently we’ll come down and orbit the new earth and we’ll be our home.

I believe we’ll have access to the New Earth and be able to enjoy a perfect renovated new Earth that will be created after the thousand year end of Christ. The Bible says in Revelation 21 verse 1, and it says, I saw a new heaven and a new earth for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away. So John tells us about this present earth being destroyed at the end of the thousand year end of Christ. Then he sees a new heaven and a new earth, and then he sees the new city, the New Jerusalem, coming down from heaven, from God.

Fascinating stuff here, but we have a city all ready for us that one day we’re going to enjoy forever and ever. And this city is the city of the living God. And I believe that we’re going to enjoy, as I said before, a brand new earth, a perfect earth that has not been polluted by man or by sin and will be able to enjoy its rivers, its streams, its mountains, its hills, its fellas. And it will be a wonderful eternity for all of us who are believers.

So this is Bibleline, I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. I hope you have trusted Christ as your Savior. Because the only way to enter that city according to the Bible is to have your name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. That means when you die, you will have to have trusted Jesus Christ and his shed blood it the cross as the means of your salvation. Unless you have done that, you will not be able to enter heaven. The Bible says just a single lie would be enough to exclude you or me.

Nothing that worked of abomination will be able to enter in. Not even a single lie will enter in, but those that have trusted Christ as their Savior. Boy, I’m ever glad I found out about that and I trusted Christ at 18, received the gift of eternal life and I have God’s guarantee that he’ll never cast me out, he’ll never lose me, but one day I’ll be in that new Jerusalem and live with the Lord forever and ever and ever and ever.

Well, by the way, it’s a fun number if you like to call in is 1-800-576-3771. We have a caller from Bradenton, Florida, and that is Gary’s on the line. Gary, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Air. Good morning, Dr. Lynch. How are you today? Good. Happy Thanksgiving to you. Happy Thanksgiving to you too. The other day you had talked a little bit about Pharaoh and Harding of his heart, and I hope we can have a little discussion on this issue because I think it’s a fascinating issue.

And the first question is, was it a sin for Pharaoh not to let the people of Israel go? I believe so, because these were God’s people, he was using his slaves and kept him in bondage and God said, let my people go. Then my next question would be, if God, because we are told in Exodus 7, verse 3, that God hardened Pharaoh’s heart and my question to you is if God wouldn’t have hardened Pharaoh’s heart what would have happened?

Well then he probably would have let the children Israel go but if you relax in his 14 God hardened his heart in respect of letting the people of Israel go simply so he could win the victory over the Egyptian army and that world power at that time by drowning the Egyptian army in the Red Sea. So he basically baited Pharaoh and Pharaoh said in chapter 14 of Exodus the land has entangled them and they can’t escape. So he brought his troops against them, literally realized that God would open the Red Sea and then of course he decided he would follow them and when he did then God allowed the sea to close and drown the entire Egyptian army.

And it says there, he did that, so that the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord. So he was really trying to get the gospel, a knowledge that he is the Savior, the Redeemer, to the Egyptian people and the explanations around the world at that time by the beauty of God. I think it’s puzzling about this though, is that if it was a sin, it was a sin. for Pharaoh not to let them go and then if God wouldn’t have hardened his heart, Pharaoh would have let them go.

So what for God intervening with the free will of Pharaoh because you already indicated that he would have let them go but God intervened and took that free will away from him and also caused him to sin when he wouldn’t have otherwise sin. I think that’s very puzzling. Well it’s true but it has nothing to do with ferro-salvation. Ferro could have… could have come to know the Lord as a Savior, but apparently that was not the issue here at all.

It was simply using Pharaoh here to work out his purpose so that others would come to know Christ as their Savior. And his choice to accept to reject the Savior was not in view there. It was simply a matter of God hardening his heart concerning not letting the children of Israel go out of the land of Egypt. But Pharaoh, I think, could have become saved if he had a bit of that disposition, but I don’t think Pharaoh ever was interested in that at all.

But in any case, that was not what the hardening of the heart was about. It’s quite clear in Exodus that he hardened his heart, concerning letting the people go, not concerning salvation. Right. Yeah, I think that’s fair to say. And as a result, you know, even Rahab gives her testimony when you read over in the book of Joshua when she talked to the spies. She said, we heard what your God did to the Egyptians, and our hearts melted and so on.

She said that she believed on the God of Israel as a result, and that’s how she got saved. And she was, of course, spared in the destruction of Jericho when the children of Israel came into the problems land. But she had gotten saved through that very thing that God had done. And it was God’s intention to bring a judgment against all of the gods of Egypt. The Nile was one of the gods that the Egyptians worshipped and he turned the waters to blood and polluted the waters so that they could not drink them and so on.

And they worshiped the flies and they worshiped the frogs and they worshiped all these different beings. And God brought a judgment upon each and every one of them showing that he was indeed the true living God and all these were false gods and all of that whole contest was got attempting to bring uh… a knowledge of himself uh… to the jipson people that they might uh… know who he is in the he was living out and become saved as a result well i think it’s awfully strange that a pharaoh would have let them go but for god intervening and you say it was a thin frame not to let them go god then that the air go logic god caused pharaoh to send there’s no other possible logical explanation for that.

Well, I don’t disagree with that. I think in that case he does. You know, and we don’t have absolute free will in this life anyway. I mean, we have the choice to accept to reject Christ, but many things are not given to our choice. I didn’t choose what city I was going to be born in. I didn’t choose what parents I was going to be born to. And many, many other things that are true about myself that I have no control over that God had predetermined.

And but God does not preserve my choice as to acceptance or rejection of Christ. That is indeed my choice. Okay. I still think it’s puzzling, very puzzling. But if you have time, I have one more question. All right. Fire away. Okay. The other day, another caller had called in and asked, can you still be saved if you don’t believe in all of the doctrines? And you said, of course you could, as long as you trust Christ and believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, you will be saved.

And I would like to know how you would square that away with other comments I’ve heard you say that if someone believes and trusts Jesus in the death, burial, and resurrection, they will not be saved if they had a misunderstanding of about the doctrine of salvation as far as whether non-belief, subsequent that they can lose their salvation. have indicated that they cannot be saved even though they trust Jesus and believe in the death burial and resurrection. Well, you’re absolutely right about that.

I’m talking about there are obviously many, many doctrines in the Bible that we really don’t have to embrace to become saved. And many things I knew nothing about when I trusted Christ in 18, but as I became acquainted with the Bible, learned about these doctrines and embraced them because the Bible taught them. No doubt about it. I’m not required to believe all those things to be saved. It says, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and that that’s what we saved.

If I’m trusting or believing in something contrary to that gospel message, the fact that Christ maybe perhaps is not the Savior, not God, then obviously that’s contradictory and I would not be saved. But I have to trust the gospel message that Christ is God who came and took any inflation, went to the cross and by his death and shed blood, bait our sendet and flow is buried and rose again from the dead. But you also have to believe in the doctrine of once saved, always saved in addition to those things.

Well, that’s a part of it. The only kind of salvation God offers is eternal life. He doesn’t offer probation, which is what many people are teaching. He offers salvation. And there’s a difference. So a lot of people are buying you know, a trial period. And God is going to give me a trial period. And if I managed to succeed at this, I’ll be able to enter heaven one day. That’s not what he’s offering. He’s offering the complete, pardon forgiveness of your sins, past, present, future based upon his substitution of death at the cross, and once you trust him, you become forever saved.

Okay, but again, if they trust in Jesus and believe in a death barrier or a zen, most Christians don’t have an understanding of this whole doctrine of one saved, always saved, versus other difficult passages like Hebrews 6, 10 and 12. saying they won’t be saved and that’s the trouble that I’m having with that. Nowhere in the Gospel does it say that you have to trust in Jesus, believe in the death burial and resurrection and believe in the doctrine of one’s saved, always saved and that’s the part that I’m disputing.

I understand. The point is though if you haven’t understood that then you’re not really trusting Christ. You’re really trusting yourself to be the Savior and not Christ. We’ve got to come up here on the break. I’m sorry Gary. And here comes that music and we’re going to take a break and we’ll come back and do Bible at part 2. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. To pledge your support for Bibleline, give us a call at 1-800-576-3771.

Welcome to Bibleline. Clyde, are you there? Oh, excuse me, I need the wrong button here. Clyde, are you there?

Hello. Hello, Clyde. Yes. Welcome to Bibleline all the way from Ontario. Yes, I’m going to take you my question. I’m just curious in reading a revelation when it talks about the new earth, it says there will be no seas. Why is that? But yet still out here you say there will be rivers, but no seas. Well, it’s not really clear. Nobody has given a good explanation and We’ll have to wait and see why but definitely in the New Jerusalem will be the River of living water and we’ll get the drink of that but it doesn’t tell us about Why there are no seas I don’t understand I don’t have any answer for you and we’ll have to wait a little get to heaven to find out Okay, thank you, Doc.

About as good as I can do. Thanks for tuning in to Bibleline today from Ontario, Canada. Wow. And we appreciate all of our listeners where we may be calling in from. By the way, we have just finished two classes of 10 hours of teaching, one called Meeting the Challenge, a great one on the Christian life, 10 hours of teaching, and one called 10 vital doctrines, both of them excellent, and they’re available now on CD, but now for the first time these two classes, the 10 hours of teaching are also available on DVD.

So you might want to jump in and get in on that. So keep that in mind. You can order the DVDs and also the CDs of our teaching, and I have about 40 different presentations that are available. Don’t forget also you can order the Bibles. We recommend the old Schofield reference Bibles getting to be rare to find one anymore, but we still have it. And also the commentaries that I recommend and we have some wonderful tracks that really lead people to Christ.

I’ve written a brand new one. It’s the same format as the other track we had called, Am I Going to Heaven? but all brand new questions. And so you might want to give that a shot. And so give it a try. Call our 800 number and you can order those tracks. And we hope that you’ll take advantage of them. We have Jose in Seminole, Florida. And Jose, are you there? Yes, good morning. How are you doing Hank? Good. That’s good.

Sound a little stronger today. A little bit. You got a question for us, I hope. Yes. I was listening to one of the callers the other day, and he was talking about how God lets someone who is saved but keeps on spending after they’re saved. I just wanted to make a quick comment about how God is going to do it from what I read in the scriptures. The comment is that, you know, that would-hey, in double-scripture where it talks about how God’s going to burn away all those things.

And he’s going to leave the silver and gold. Well, anything that isn’t of Christ when we pass into eternity, in the glory, for our saved Christian, isn’t even going to be there in heaven. So that part of our personality that has done this thing or that thing, no matter how bad it is, won’t even be in heaven. And that’s from what I see. That’s why someone is coming all the way. But in this life, though, it says, when we are judged, we are chastened or disciplined of the Lord so that we should not be condemned with the world.

So God spanks to link with children in this world. And He does that so that we should not be condemned with the world, which they’re lost and going to hell. So we’re dealt with differently. Just like a father disciplines his children. My dad never disciplined the neighborhood kids. Although several times I tried to get him to do that. I said, Dad, you know, I didn’t get in trouble by myself. It was all of us guys in the neighborhood that did this thing.

And he said, I’m going to deal with you. Their parents will have to deal with them. But I’m going to discipline you. You’re my child. And so God deals with his own children. And if you’re not saved, then he didn’t. does not interfere as to how you live your life. But if you’re a believer, you’re not going to get away with it because he will discipline you here. And you’ll suffer the loss of reward later when you stand before him.

And that part they have a drinking problem and say, say it’s the person’s like an abusive drinker. He’s abused this party, which is where our sin nature is. And you’re absolutely right. We’re going to be rid of the sin nature and will be rid of the capacity to commit any acts of sin at all. But up until the New Heavens and New Earth apparently will still suffer regret and sorrow and be ashamed for our lack of service here. It doesn’t tell us until after the New Heavens and New Earth in Revelation chapter 20 in verse where it says God will come over and wipe away all tears from your eyes.

So apparently tears will continue to be shed until after the thousand year reign of Christ is over. So there’s no escaping the consequences of our actions as believers we will give an account. We thank you so much Jose for calling in today from Seminole,® Florida. The phone number here at Bibleline, 1-800-576-3771. If you live in the Tampa Bay area and you don’t have a church home, we welcome you to come by and visit with us this Sunday. We have an adult class at 915 that I teach in addition to other adult classes and Sunday school classes.

And then at 1030, we have the worship service and you’re welcome to come and be a part of that. That’s this Sunday. You’re welcome to come by and this will be the last Sunday in November. Hard to believe November has just evaporated on us. We have Jean in the very Florida and Jean welcome to Bibleline. Hey, good morning. How are you? Good. You’re on the air. Not really a question. I guess a comment. Your last caller talking about the Pharaoh and the God at heart and his heart.

You go through the Bible all over different places he knows our will you know what we’re going to do away in advance before we know anything about it said throughout the bible the hard people’s heart because they won’t turn to him and he turns them over to their own lesson the city of snuff i don’t think you can lay the blame on gun on that part he knows what we’re going to do well you’re absolutely right oftentimes the hardness is uh…

the result of our own turning away from the truth absolutely absolutely and that’s my whole uh… thought about the pharaoh is that you know he thought he uh… themselves as gods so that they didn’t need anybody else and you know that their actions spoke for their sp you know there were greater than their words that absolutely that’s a good point and i’m glad you brought that up gene a no problem i have a great holiday you too thanks for calling in today That’s from over near Daytona Beach in Bury, Florida, over on the east coast of Florida.

And thank you, Jean, for calling in today. The phone number again, 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. We have Mary in St. Petersburg, Florida. And Mary, welcome to Bibleline Year on the Year. Oh, thank you, Dr. Langstrom. I just wanted to make a comment about that guy that said he was puzzled that Bell’s heart was hardened by God. I just wanted to say that I’m sure our all-knowing God knows who is going to accept him and who isn’t. He knows who will be his and the end.

I’m sure he picked somebody that wasn’t. Well, I think you’re absolutely right about that too, Mary. And God, of course, never did harden his heart so that he couldn’t become sane. But apparently Pharaoh was headed that way. And God knew that, and he hardened his heart so that God could get the message to the whole nation, which is what happened. Right. OK. All right. Thank you very much. Thank you, Mary. And that was Mary calling in from. Where did Mary call in from?

In the case Mary called in from Saint Pete and the phone number here is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. We have a new volunteer today on our phones and want to thank John who has come in today and is sitting in and taking the calls for me as we We are bringing the program to you today. Thanks for listening and you’re welcome to call in if you like. We appreciate all of our listeners and welcome you to call us either with an on-air question or an off-air question.

You’re most welcome to do that. All right. Who do we have here on the line? Yes, this is Robert. Hello, Nat. Robert, okay, from where? Tampa. Tampa. Okay, Robert. You have a question? Yes. I’m actually going through We’re going through a divorce right now. It’s not by my wife. We were together 14 years. I’m kind of against what’s going on, but it’s all my wife. We were married for about two and a half years before we separated. and if it’s not by my choice that we’re going through this, and I just want to know how, in a sense, that’s going to affect my life.

You know, due to the fact that I feel more spiritual than my wife was, and how do I pick up the pieces from this, and what does it say about divorce? Obviously, the Lord doesn’t condone divorces, And I just want to know, you know, where do I stand from there? Right. Sometimes you can become the innocent victim and there’s nothing… nothing you can do about it because it takes two to make up a marriage and it says unless two are in agreement, how can they walk together?

And so you need to obviously be in agreement about many things to be able to continue your walk together as husband and wife. And God of course doesn’t like divorce. We have a good book by Chuck Swindall that I recommend to folks called Strike the Original Match. It’s meant as a recovery book but it also deals squarely with the issues of what happens when divorce happens and what the Bible says about it. I would recommend that to you. But the Lord of course can still greatly use you and your relationship with Him is not based upon your marriage, just based upon your acceptance of Christ’s Savior, whatever you did that.

And for that moment on you forever he is. And you’re going to have it regardless. And God wants to use you while you’re here. So I would just be watching for God to guide your footsteps and try to live your life to please him every day. And God will bring joy into your life. I appreciate it. All right. Thank you for calling. Thank you. Bye-bye. That was from the local area here. We now have Fred in Richmond, Virginia. And Fred, welcome to my line.

You’re on layer. Thank you. You have a question for me today? Yes, yes I do. Question now. Should I ask it now? Absolutely. Let’s do it. All right. Our Lord said, my flesh and drink my blood, you shall not have life in you. How does Dr. Lynch from? That’s a very good question from John’s gospel chapter six. And the answer is in verse 63. Christ wasn’t talking about literally drinking his blood or biting down into his arm and eating his flesh.

He says, the flesh profits nothing in verse 63. He says, the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life. And when you believe those words, that Christ gave his life and shed his blood at the cross and partake of his life and shed blood by trusting that he died there and gave his life for you, God saves you. But to actually have to eat or drink his blood is not what he’s talking about at all.

He’s saying very clearly in verse 63, because some had the question. He says, does this offend you? And then he says, what if I go back to heaven, how in the world are you going to eat my flesh and drink my blood if I go back to heaven? And he says, a flush profit zero, nothing. He said, you could bite on Christ’s arm and drink blood from his arm where you punctured his arm and still get a help. You must believe that he gave his life.

And earlier in that chapter in verse 51, he says, the flesh that I give is my life, which I give on the cross for the sins of the world. And so when you believe those words that he spoke, he gave his life. And in verse 47, one of the most wonderful verses, he says, verily, verily, I say unto you, he have believed on me has everlasting life. And so immediately after he says that in verse 63, in verse 64, he goes on to say, he knew from the beginning who they were that believed not.

So those that believed that message were saved and those that believed not were lost and in contrast they’re those that believed from those that did not believe. So we partake give his flesh and blood when we trust Christ as our Savior. All right. Let me ask you another catechism has a lot of you explain to me what those errors are. Well, we have a book here called Understanding Roman Catholicism. It covers 37 crucial doctrines from the Roman Catholic Catechism and then gives you verses of Scripture to compare.

You’ll find that the Catholic Church has widely divided itself from the scriptures and have invented many doctrines. For example, there is no purgatory in anybody’s Bible. There is no such place as limbo. The Catholic Church teaches Lent, L-E-N-T. There is no Lent in anybody’s Bible. Lent is totally pagan and has to do with Baal worship. and so on and so on and so on. They have so many doctrines that are just purely man invented and men created and are contradictory to the Bible.

So you really have to go to the Bible. When the Catechism talks about the Ten Commandments, it will give you Ten Commandments, but if you read the Ten Commandments the Catholic Church gives you and the Catechism against the Bible, you realize you get cheated. They have completely done away with the Second Commandment about graven images and they’ve taken the 10th commandment, also not covet and broke it into two commandments. And so they give you 10 commandments, but they rob you of one of the most important commandments.

You’re not to have any graven images, which the Catholic Church violates every day, so they don’t want that commandment in the face of their parishioners. So that’s deliberate, obviously. Nobody could make that mistake by accident, but they give you 10 commandments, but the The second one is totally gone from the list in the Roman Catholic Catechism. We have that book available. It’s a wonderful study that allows you to compare for yourself and you can see whether the Catholic Church and the Catechism line up with the Bible or whether they disagree with the Bible.

I am afraid that they have departed away from the Bible and teach many things which are not true. How did the Bible come to be, who put these books together? Well God put it together and He used the apostles to write the New Testament letters for us. The New Testament was completed around AD 96 and we’ve had the New Testament record ever since. That is the 27 books that we use which we believe are the authority by which we judge our faith and practice.

And when you go to the 27 books of the New Testament, it tells us that we’re to take heed to what he has said there and not to depart from it. So we’re not to add to it in Revelation 22, nor subtract from it. We’re to take what God has said and believe it and embrace it and proclaim it. Okay, thank you very much. You’re very welcome. The Roman Catholic Church didn’t give us the Bible. God gave us the Bible.

It says in 2 Timothy 3, 16, all Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be completely furnished unto all good works. So God has given us His Word as the Supreme Authority for Doctrine, for correction, for instruction, in righteousness, and for equipping the believer to do the job that God wants us to do as a believer today. So I would turn to the scriptures for my answers, and if you go to the Catechism, you’ll find Good.

The catechism and the Bible don’t agree on many, many, many doctrines. There is no purgatory. That’s our false doctrine that says you can work off sins after you die. Well, the Bible teaches that works won’t pay for sin at any time, past, present, or future. That it was only Christ’s death that could pay for your sin debt and full. And when you trust that Christ died for you, God saves you and saves you eternally. Thank you for that call, Fred, up in Richmond, Virginia.

We have a question. Call us at 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. And we find that if you have celebrated thanksgiving, hopefully you’ve taken time to give thanks unto God for so many things, but particularly His gift of Christ who died for you and me so that we might receive the forgiveness of sin and the wonderful gift of everlasting life. Okay, we’ve got another caller here, 1-800-576-3771. And we have Carolyn in Clearwater, Florida. And Carolyn, welcome to Bible Honor on the air. Thank you.

I have a question. My question is concerning a Christian who continues to sin. He continues to sin. And you said the other day there was a scripture, the Lord might. Can you give me that scripture? Sure, there’s several that you might look at in 1 Corinthians 1130. It says for this cause, many of you are weak and many of you are sickly and many of you sleep. And so that means dead. And so the Lord, there are numerous passages where the Lord takes people home.

Corinthians 5, there’s a Christian living in adultery or fornication with his probably a stepmother and it says in verse 5 of 1 Corinthians 5 to deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh that the Spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. So in other words, God allowed Satan to kill this man, but yet his Spirit would be saved one day when he stands before the Lord when Christ comes back. Sure. Any type of sin or addiction could be, you know, after a while saying, unless you get this under control, I’m just going to take you out of here.

Okay. Thank you so much. You’re very welcome. And I know that’s painful if you know, especially a loved one that is in that situation. Well, phone number here, 1-800-576-3771. And we have a caller from Temple Terrace, Florida, and this is Roseanne. And Roseanne, welcome to Bibleline your own ear. Yes, sir. Good morning. Happy Thanksgiving. Same to you. Thank you. I’m sorry about your. I hope your throat gets all better. I just told you answer a lot to do to help.

Anyway, good. Good. Anyway, I was asking Dr. Lindstrom, could you please refer me to a scripture about, can you hear my radio? Maybe I’ll turn it down. That’s all right. I can hear you. Go ahead. Okay. About authority. My daughter is having an issue with her employer of authority. He is being unfair and I told her she should obey the authority. Anyway, I don’t know the scripture of scriptures to tell her. Okay. In Ephesians chapter 6 it talks about employees and employers and it talks about how you should be obedient to your employer as unto Christ and if they mistreat you, God is going to compensate you for that in heaven.

He’ll make it up to you. But he wants you to be a good witness on the job now. You have two choices. You can quit that job and get another job. But as long as you’re there, you are required to do good service to your employer. So hopefully that’ll help Ephesians chapter 6 is the passage I think about verse 8 through 11 in particular. So hopefully that helps Rosanne. Thank you for calling in from Temple Terrace, Florida. We’re going to have to run here.
