Once again, we would like to thank you, the listener, for your prayers and support for Bibleline Ministries.
God bless you. Well, good morning and welcome to Bibleline. Great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast. We look forward to being with you each and every day. Monday through Friday as we come to you live from our studios here in Tampa, Florida at the Calvary Community Church. That’s the church where I pastor. We’d love to have you come by and visit our Resource Center here for Bibleline. We’ll open every day till about 4.30.
We also would love to have you come by and join us for our worship service sometime. And we’re going to be having a special Christmas service and a special Christmas dinner following. You’re welcome to be my guest. Come at 10.30. Join us for worship and the celebration of Christmas in our worship service. And then also stay then for a wonderful Christmas dinner. We’ll have a lot of food and fellowship and it’ll be a great time and you’re welcome to come.
That ought to be exciting. We have lots of resources and our resource center that will help you for Christmas, Bibles and other gifts that you might want to give to someone. Also we have tracks that really work if you want to lead your friends to Christ. We have one called, Am I Going to Heaven? That is especially good. It really works. one of those tracks that you can give to someone. And even if you don’t guide them through it, if they’ll actually read all the way through it, generally people get saved.
It’s that good. It really is that good. And I’ve told stories here on the radio of some of the people that have come to know Christ the Savior through this track. It is powerful. We also have other tracks and we also have tools. We have a seven minute video presentation of the gospel. Some people want to give that or put the CD, how permanent is your salvation in with a special Christmas gift targeting somebody who’s unsaved. These things all work and maybe you want to get some tools to share the gift of Christmas which is eternal life.
Romans 623 says the gift of God is eternal life and this is a great gift that we ought to be sharing too often we focus on material gifts when the real gift of Christmas is eternal life given through Jesus Christ and his death and shed blood at the cross and the fact that he was buried in rose again from the dead. This is a great season. This is a great time to witness and share the gospel. This is a great opportunity and maybe a family and friends, this might be the best time of the year to reach him with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Is there somebody you’d like to see get a Bible at this time? This would be a good time to do that. And we have the old Scofield, which I believe is such a treasure because the notes are so helpful in our geared to Bible doctrine. We’re leaving for Israel March 12th. That’s a Monday coming back on March 23rd, a Friday 12 days next to the hill of Calvary looking over at the tomb of Christ. It’s fantastic. It’s actually an opportunity to walk where Jesus walked and to relive the Bible stories right on the spot where they happened.
What a great trip it is. It’ll be trip number 14 for me. I’d love to have you go and if you would like to get the information call or 800 dumber. And also you can go to my website Bible industries and click on Bible and news and be able to get all the information you need. Happy Christmas or Merry Christmas, I guess. And I hope that you have a wonderful Christmas holiday. Would you consider giving a special gift to Bibleline here at Christmas?
That would help us. We’d like to clear out all of our bills from 2006. Enter the new year. I don’t know anything. And if you’d like. to help us here at Christmas. That would be a great way to give a gift to the Lord. You know, a lot of people when they make their shopping lists, they have their children and their moms and dads and uncles and aunts and nephews and nieces and Jesus somehow gets left off the list.
Have you put him on your Christmas list? You know, the wise men gave all their gifts to Christ and maybe we’ve drifted away from giving to Jesus. It’s his birthday, you know, and maybe you’d like to give a gift this year to Christ and maybe give a gift to Bibleline and help us make sure that all of our expenses for 2006 are cleared up and we’re able to enter the new year and not have any expenses and assure that your station would carry this program and we’d continue to be able to expand out with Bibleline around the world.
New country added on to our web list, Gambia in Africa added on, small country on the west coast of Africa, but they have logged on 147 countries now to our Internet site. Our TV program, Bibleline, is being aired in Mongolia. Our radio program, Bibleline, is also aired in Honduras, Central America. We’re excited about the doors that God has opened, and we’re praying that He would continue to use Bible and in a wonderful way. To reach folks out there like you who have enjoyed this program and are tuned in today.
And we have lots of all fair questions. We’ll try to get to those today. Also, we’d like to have you call with your on-air questions. And you can dial 1-800-576-3771. You know, Hanukkah is coming up. December 15th, actually, the 16th of December is Hanukkah. And it begins, of course, at sundown the evening before. Did you know that Hanukkah is only found in the New Testament? Did you know that? I love to tell Jewish people that. I like to say, did you know that Hanukkah is not found in the Old Testament?
That’s right. It’s only found in the New Testament, and they look surprised, and their mouth drops open. Well, we wouldn’t expect to find it in the Old Testament because the Old Testament was finished around 500 years before Christ. God withdrew the prophets and had nothing more to say. In the 39 books we have in the Old Testament were finished 500 years before Christ. Hanukkah didn’t occur until 165 BC. Jerusalem had been conquered, the temple had been overrun, and the temple worship had ceased and a group of Zalas priests called Maccabees delivered the city of Jerusalem, delivered the temple and re-institated the temple worship and of course the miracle of Hanukkah was supposedly they had only one day’s oil to light the menorah and keep it burning and it burned for eight days but in in any case, it was a rededication of the temple in
Jerusalem in BC 165. Now the only time that Hanukkah is mentioned in the Bibles in John’s gospel chapter 10 and Jesus guess what on Hanukkah, that’s right on Hanukkah, visit to the temple, the temple that had been rededicated on Hanukkah 165 BC, called the Festival of Dedication, called the Feast of Lights, or Festival of Lights. And here we have it in John’s Gospel, chapter 10. Do you have your Bible open? You might want to take a look in John’s Gospel, chapter 10.
It says it was at Jerusalem, the Feast of the Dedication. You can write in the margin Hanukkah, which is exactly what this feast was all about. It was the dedication of the temple that occurred in BC 165. It says in John 1022, it was winter. It always occurs in the winter. Here we are in the winter. If you are looking at the news, much of our country has been blanketed with snow. it was winter time in Jerusalem as well, and it was the feast of Hanukkah.
And verse 23 says, Jesus walked into the temple, into Solomon’s porch. And look at what happens here. And when this is really the most interesting thing about when Jesus went to the temple on Hanukkah, it says in verse 24, then came the Jews round about him and said unto him, How long does thou make us to? If you are the Christ, the Messiah, tell us plainly. So the confrontation on Hanukkah was the Jews approaching Christ as he comes in on purpose on Hanukkah and says, Actually, they say to him, if you’re the Christ, don’t make us the doubting longer.
Tell us plainly in verse 25, Jesus answered them and said, I’ve told you and you believe me not. Look at that. Christ is the Messiah. The temple was built for Him. It was God’s house. Jesus Christ is God. He is the Messiah. He is God who came and took on human flesh. And he goes to the building that was built for him, the building that had been re-dedicated in 165 BC, he comes on the very occasion, the anniversary of his dedication, walks into the temple area, the Jews approach him and say, how long do you make us stand out?
If you’re the Christ, if you’re the Messiah, tell us plainly. Jesus said, I’ve told you, and you believe me not, the works that I do in my father’s name, they bear witness of me. But you believe not because you are not of my sheep. Isn’t that amazing here? They actually get to see the very one for whom the temple had been built and dedicated. You know, the Jewish people had that temple rededicated in BC 165. By the way, since Christ was rejected, that temple was destroyed in 80s, 70 by the Romans, and doesn’t even exist today.
So really, Hanukkah today is kind of like a meaningless, meaningless celebration. Because they’re celebrating the rededication of a temple that it even exists, and hasn’t existed for 2,000 years. Isn’t that interesting? Jews around the world will be celebrating Hanukkah coming up on sundown, December 15th, throughout the day of December 16th, celebrating the rededication of the temple in 165 BC. For a temple that was destroyed in 80s, 70s, it hadn’t been around for 2000 years. Seems like somewhat of an empty observance.
But you see, when you look at the only reference to Hanukkah, which occurs in the New Testament Only in John’s Gospel, chapter 10, Jesus came and said, here I am. The temple was dedicated in BC 165 and now I have arrived. This is my house. And what happened? We see on this occasion, they reject him. He says in verse 28 that he is the one who gives eternal life and those that trust in and he will never perish and neither shall any pluck them out of my hand.
Then he says, my Father, which gave them me as greater than all, and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. Then Jesus says, I and my Father are one. Look at what happened on Hanukkah. This is what happened on Hanukkah. The only time it’s mentioned in the Bible, verse 31, then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. They wanted to kill him. Wow, here’s the Messiah. Here’s the one for whom the temple was built.
This is what the celebration was all about, the rededication of this temple, a house for God. God comes in the person of Christ and He says, I and my Father are one. They knew what that meant. He was claiming to be God and it took up stones again to stone Him. Verse 32, Jesus said, Many good works have I showed you for my Father, for which of those good works do you stone me? Look at this answer in John 1033.
The Jews answered him saying, for a good work we stoned thee not. But for blasphemy, because the thou being a man makeest thyself God, they knew his claim. He was claiming to be God. He was claiming to be the Messiah. He came to the temple on purpose, on the dedication of that temple. rejected him on Hanukkah. So what should Hanukkah be remembered for? The rejection of Christ. That’s right. Hanukkah is really a day when we remember Christ being rejected by the Jews.
John’s Gospel, chapter 10. The Jews said for good work we stonly not, but for blasphemy, because without being a man, make us thine self God. Now Jesus could have corrected them. If he wasn’t of a sigh, if he wasn’t God, he could have said, Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, you totally got this backwards. This is not what I intend to do imply. I’m not the Messiah, I’m not God, but he didn’t say that. He let it stand. He is God.
He is the Savior. He is the Messiah and Jesus then predicted that because they rejected him, that that temple would be destroyed. It was destroyed in 8070 by the Romans. And the Jews are still celebrating Hanukkah, the rededication of a temple that doesn’t exist and hasn’t existed for two thousand years. And you know why it doesn’t exist? Because they rejected Jesus. Jesus on Hanukkah and then took him to the cross and he was crucified for you and for me.
Fascinating passage over in Matthew 12, Jesus here again is in the temple at another occasion and he says in verse 6 of Matthew 12, I say unto you that there is in this place, the temple, one greater than the temple. He’s talking about himself. The temple was a building that they almost worshiped all by itself. Jesus said there’s one here in this place, in this temple that’s greater than the temple. Obviously Jesus is greater than the temple. He is God and he was rejected.
I love to talk about Hanukkah because it’s all about Jesus. What? Hanukkah is about Jesus. It sure is. Hanukkah is all about Jesus Christ. And how He came to the temple that had been rededicated for Him in BC 165 by the Maccabees. And here He comes and they say, how long do you make us to doubt? If you’re the Christ, tell us plainly, John 10, and Jesus said, I’ve told you, and you believe me not. And then he goes on to proceed and tells them more about who he is and makes the claim that he’s God.
I and my father are one, and they take up stones again to stone him. It was clearly. Hanukkah was the day when the Jews rejected Jesus Christ publicly right there on the spot when he came to his temple. They rejected the one for whom the temple was built. Happy Hanukkah. It’s all about Jesus. I hope you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior, my friend. There’s no way to have an apart from Him. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, the life, and no man can come into the Father but by me.
I hope you’ve trusted Him as your very own. I’m Dr. Englund, Mr. Mrs. Byblond, we’re going to go to the phone lines. The phone number is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. Going to take an off-air question, we have Lucille in Venice, Florida calls in, and she says she says she does not agree with your teaching on the sin unto death. She says this is when you believe on Jesus, then stop believing on Him. Lucille might sound good, but you can’t support that from scripture.
No word does the Bible say that. In fact, the Bible says that the unpardonable sin is an unbelief or rejection of Christ. But once you become a believer, you cannot be lost. It does not bring about death. When you trust Christ, you have everlasting life and you’ll live forever and ever. In fact, The Bible says, in 2 Timothy, Lucille, I hope you’re writing this down. In 2 Timothy, chapter 2, it says in verse 13, If we believe not, yet God abides faithful, He cannot deny Himself.
In other words, God can’t break the promise that He made to save you eternally once you trust Him as your Savior. Even if you stopped believing, it would not end your salvation. Let me quote that verse again for you, Lucille, in Venice, Florida. It says in 2 Timothy 2, 13, if we believe not, yet God abides faithful, he cannot deny his promise. He cannot deny himself. You’re still going to be saved forever. Now you’ll lose out on reward and blessings because you probably will not be serving the Lord.
But in 1 John 5, 16, the verse in question, The sin unto death is a believer, committing a sin that would mean God would take his life and there’s no undoing that once that happens. We gave illustrations yesterday. First Corinthians 1130, many of the Corinthian believers in willful sin against the Lord God said because of this year weak and sickly many of you sleep, you’re dead. First Corinthians 5.5, a man living as a Christian in Pornication with his stepmother it says in verse 5 of 1 Corinthians 5 to deliver such a one to the Satan for the destruction of the flesh that the spirit may be saved in The day of the Lord Jesus Apparently was turned over to Satan so Satan could take his life kill him But yet his spirit would be saved when Jesus comes back Moses committed the sin on the death he
spoke the rock in the wilderness rather than speaking to the rock and God took his life. You read the last chapter of Deuteronomy, it tells about how Moses was still with 2020 eyesight at 120 years of age. His physical strength had not abated, he was still in great physical shape and yet the Lord took his life. He did not leave the children visual into the Promised Land. Joshua did not and God took his life while he was still in the prime of life.
He did lose his salvation. In fact, Jude, verse 9, tells us that God has preserved his body for a coming back. He’s going to come back and preach again during the tribulation period after the rapture for three and a half years on this earth. That’s right. Moses is coming back. And God has preserved his body because he did die. God took his life. And Satan calls foul play. That’s not fair, he says. And Michael says, the Lord rebuked Satan.
Interesting. Well, in any case, we are glad to be able to be with you today. And if ever you’re not hearing a good clear signal call in and let us know because we only learn from our listeners whether we’re coming through loud and clear or not. Lucille, I hope that helps Lucille in Venice, Florida. Chris in plant city Florida calls in and he says or he says rather excuse me when those who say give or ask Jesus in your heart don’t they understand that the heart is wicked Jeremiah 17 9 says the heart is wicked it says it’s desperately wicked and obviously why would God want your heart Chris is saying in other words you have to trust Christ and then he can come into your life or your body once he’s forgiven your sin.
But otherwise why would he want your wicked heart? That’s a good point. But obviously we’re only saying when we trust Christ and that’s first, Chris, like you just said, that’s wonderful. Chris in plant city, Florida. If you’d like to call in, the phone number is 1-800-576-3771. Alright, who do we have here on the line? Who is this? Hello? Hello? I thought we had a caller there, but welcome to Bibleline 1-800-576-3-771. 3, 7, 7, 1. 1, 800, 5, 7, 6, 3, 7, 7, 1.
Let’s see who we have on the line here. Yes, who do we have here? Hello? And somehow I’m not able to pull that call up. But if you want to dial in, it’s 1, 800, 5, 7, 6, 3, 7, 7, 1. The phones are ringing off the hook here and I am waiting for my operator to tell me who is on the line here so we can take a call. Okay. So do you hear me now? Apparently we’re having some technical difficulty.
And so we have a problem with our signal. And hopefully we can get these problems resolved so you get a couldn’t clear signal from Bible on to day. All right, we have a Madeline down in Britain, in Florida, Madeline. Welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Hi, Dr. Hank. Well, I guess the devil of the airway is father not coming back. But I’m glad at least you’re able to get the program somewhat. Yes. I heard you talking about Hanukkah and the day here coming up soon.
And is that the day that Jesus rejected in the temple before he was crucified? This was, I think, a year or so before his crucifixion. But it was obviously a turning point in the leading to what happened when he went to the cross. Oh, thank you. Okay. Yes. But it is interesting that Hanukkah is only found in the New Testament and not the old. I took that note to that, that is fantastic, I never knew that. I have a sister who is Jewish.
Who grew up Catholic like myself and married a Jewish man and became Jewish. So I need to work on her. Amen. Yeah. Praise the Lord. That’s a good way to break the conversation open because I find Jewish people are usually totally surprised to find that Hanukkah is not in the Old Testament but is only in the new and it really has to do with Jesus which really shocks them. I know. Thank you. Thank you, Madeline and God bless. And Apparently we do have some technical difficulties.
We’re coming here on break and maybe we can get all this resolved during the break time. And we sure do thank you for tuning into Bibleline today. Keep you ready to do it. I’ll tune right where it is. Hopefully we get the problem clarified and we’ll be right back after this very short break. So don’t go away. Keep you ready to do it. I’ll tune right here to Bibleline. We’ll be right back for the second half of Bibleline. Stay tuned.
Don’t go away. The Bibleline will be back in a moment. To pledge your support for Bibleline, give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Alright, I’m Dr. Englund Strimmon. Hopefully you’re enjoying Bibleline today. And we appreciate you and all of our listeners and thank God for you because it’s you are the ones who make this program possible. And we want to say Merry Christmas to you. I hope you have a wonderful holiday and are able to enjoy the Christmas holiday and share the gospel with your friends and loved ones over the holidays.
And we just pray that you have a great one. Alright, and so we’re praying that our signals can clear up today and we can do the second half without any problems. But anyway, we do thank you for tuning in today and hopefully we’ll have a great holiday here over the Christmas holidays. So anyway, thank you for tuning in today and we appreciate all of you listeners. And if you can consider giving a special Christmas gift to Bibleline at this time, that would be wonderful.
And we want to thank you in advance for your prayers, for your gifts, and for your support of the Bibleline program. And we hope that you will have a wonderful Christmas holiday. And if we can be of any help to you, we have a wonderful resource center. Maybe you want to give some gifts to someone, and maybe you can find some things that would be just a wonderful way of giving to someone something that would be significant to bring them to Christ or to grow in their knowledge.
We have a lot of things. You can look at them on our website, BibleLineMinistries.org. Go to our online bookstore. You’ll see pictures and descriptions of all of our things. We have CDs, DVDs, books, Bibles, commentaries, things that I recommend, tracks that really work and we appreciate basically every one of you and how that we can maybe be a help and a blessing to you, especially here at Christmas. We’re going to go back and do Bible and Part 2. I hope your station carries it.
If they don’t, you can go to the internet and catch it. And we hope that the program is a blessing to you today. And we will now rejoin the stations that have been on break and do the second half of Bible. And so keep your radio dial tuned right where it is and we’ll be right back in just one minute. So stay tuned and don’t go away. We’ll do Bible and Part 2. And continue in your area. You can.
Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. All right, we’re through that break. And we hope that you’re having a wonderful day. This is Bible and we’re coming to you live from our studios right here in Tampa, Florida at the Calvary Community Church, where I’m the pastor. And we look forward to being with you each and every day, Monday through Friday. And we hope that you’ll be telling your friends about the program and help us grow our…
audience and also let them know about the internet. We had a new country, Gambia, on the West Coast of Africa added to the mix. Now, 147 countries have logged on to our website. Obviously word is getting out somehow. I don’t know how the word does these things. But obviously, six continents are represented people from all over the world. log on to Bible and we know we have thousands and thousands of listeners to Bible. Bibleline radio on the internet. You know in our TV programs and our radio programs are there for you to look at and go back into archive and watch past programs.
And by the way, we are now webcasting our morning worship service on Sunday mornings at 11. And we hope that you’ll take advantage of the webcasting. Just go to my website by blindministries.org and click on the camera on the homepage and you’ll be connected to the webcasting of the worship service. Now, that’s live on Sunday morning at about 11 o’clock. But you can go back to the archive section and watch the past, you know, about three or four weeks worth of suddenly messages that I gave and they’re sitting there for you to watch on your computer.
So if you have a big screen you can play it full screen on the right hand side it says click here for the Windows Media Player which allows you to be able to give a full screen view. So if you have a huge monitor you can play it and cover your entire wall. If you have one of those giant monitors, you’d be able to do that. And a lot of folks across the country are now taking advantage of not only the many other things that we have available, including our television programs and radio programs, but also taking advantage of the webcasting of the morning worship service.
And the quality is excellent. We’re putting out a lot of dots per square inch, I guess it is, DPI. And so you’re getting high quality sound and high quality picture. And people are really enjoying it. And if you have high speed internet, there’ll be no interruption. It’ll just be as though you’re sitting here in the worship service on Sunday morning. not quite as good as actually being here because there’s nothing like being there in the presence of other believers as we come together to worship.
Leaving for Israel March 12th, I hope you go with me and we’ll come back. That’s a Monday, we’ll come back on a Friday the 23rd, 12 days in Israel going from the the lowest spot on the face of the earth, the Dead Sea, to seeing the snow-capped mountain, Mount Hermon, snow-capped all year long, about 8,000 feet high in northern Israel. Look at the contrast. Wow. From land and the Dead Sea being 1,300 feet below sea level to 8,000 Dead Sea being 1,300 feet below sea level to 8,000 feet above sea level.
Wow. It’s the land of deserts and valleys and the lowest spot and a snow-capped mountain, the source of the Jordan River, all kinds of wonderful things. We’ll see them all. I’d love to have you go with me. Trip number 14 for me will be baptizing in the Jordan River and will observe the Lord’s supper right next to the hilok halvering, looking over at the tomb of Christ. It’s going to be marvelous. Sign up, give us a call, we’ll send you the information or you can go to my website and look up Bible Eye News and download it right off of your computer.
Would you consider at Christmas time here giving a special gift to Bible Eye? We’d like to clear up all of our expenses for 2006 and enter the new year net-free and you could help us by giving a gift to Bibleline at this time. And you know a lot of people when they make up their shopping list they put their children and their grandchildren and they put their moms and dads and uncles and nephews and nieces and everybody’s on the list but sometimes Jesus isn’t even on the shopping list.
Have you If you included Jesus on your shopping list this year, maybe you might consider giving a gift to Jesus by giving a gift to Bible on here at Christmas. I want to thank you in advance. God bless you and thank you for praying for and giving to Bibleline and you’re the ones who keep us on the air. By the way, if you want to come by, if you’re in the area during the next week or two, we’re going to be on the third Sunday of the month, having a Christmas celebration service in the morning with a wonderful dinner following a Christmas celebration dinner as a church family will celebrate Christmas with the morning worship and a dinner that follows your wife.
welcome to be my guest. Just bring your Bible, your family, your appetite and be here and we’ll have a great time. It ought to be exciting. In any case, thanks for tuning in to Bibleline and we’re gonna go to the phone lines. We have Betty in Beverly Hills, Florida and Betty, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Yes, good morning brother Linsch know. Yeah, happy Hanukkah. Yeah, talk to me. Happy holiday to you. Excuse my frog. You’re speaking about, you mentioned one of my favorite subjects and yes we share the gospel, you know, to the Jewish friends.
We feel that it’s very sad actually because as you mentioned Hanukkah is in John 1022. But what I find very interesting brother is the fact that when they put the Hanukkah, the nine branch menorah in the window So when they light it, they first light one candle that’s called the shamas. And in Hebrew that means servant and that’s the servant candle and all of the other candles get their lights from that one particular candle, which of course is representative of Yeshua Jesus, the light of the world in John 812.
So my husband and I during this time of the year put a Hanukkiah in one of our front windows and then a lighted Christmas tree and the others so that our poor neighbors are thoroughly confused. But Jesus said, follow me and I’ll make you fishers of men. So that’s what we consider to be a little bit of a bait. Amen. That’s wonderful idea. I think that’s great to have both there because, as I just said a moment ago, Hanukkah is all about Christ.
It’s the temple that was built for Him. He comes to the temple on Hanukkah and they reject Him. It’s just an amazing story. It is. And the sad part to us is that every time the Hanukkah is lit, that they are actually acting out the fact that Jesus is light of the world, bringing light to all of those who trust Him as their Savior. Thank you so much, Brother Lynch, for your sounding better. We’re keeping you in the ministry in prayer.
We thank everyone there, your staff and the young men that answers the phone. God bless you, brother. Alright, thank you Betty and happy Hanukkah and happy Merry Christmas to you. We now have, let’s see here we have Ken in Decatur, Illinois and Ken. Welcome to Bible Andrew on the air. Hi, yes Dr. Anik. I heard you yesterday talking about the one with the familiar spirit and indoor where Saul saw her out so that he could speak to Samuel. Yes.
Yes. And I’m… And tomorrow in the winter. Well, it’s the one exception and got overruled here and of course the woman when she saw Samuel, she cried with a lot of voice. I think she freaked out and this was absolutely not the normal thing that would happen for her as a medium because one of Satan’s angels would normally impersonate the dead. But in this case, it really was Samuel came up and Samuel noticed tells him about his impending death the next day.
It actually became a prophecy for the last time. filled and that he would join Samuel. Saul was saved. At one point he was counted as among the prophets. The Holy Spirit was upon him and of course you don’t lose your salvation once you get saved. Saul did lose his kingdom. He did lose his life. He lost a lot but he did not lose his salvation. Samuel said you’re going to die in battle tomorrow and you’re going to join me here in the heart of the earth in paradise where he had come up out of the earth out of paradise and actually spoke to the Lord.
But this is the one exception in the Bible where the Lord brings somebody up like that and of course it was basically in response to what Saul was doing. Saul exhausted all of his avenues to try to talk to the Lord as the Lord had just cut him off and was not speaking to him. And so here He goes this route and God allows Samuel to come forth. I have no doubt that this was Samuel who actually came forth and it’s the exception to the rule because in a seance you’re not going to get your dead relative to come back.
You’re going to have one of Satan’s angels impersonated dead and were forbidden to go this route and Saul knew he was forbidden to go this route as well. What we find here that God gave a big surprise to everybody here and Samuel actually did come up out of the heart of the earth. Ken, thanks for calling in from Decatur, Illinois, and I hope that helps, but I believe that the prophecy that Samuel gave was fulfilled literally the next day in battle.
Saul and his sons were killed, and Saul and his sons all were saved because it says all three would join Samuel. They’re in paradise. Thank you for that call, and we’re now going to try to catch a couple more off-air questions. And if you want to get up on the air with your question, you can dial 1-800-576-3771. We have Deborah calling in from Lando Lakes, Florida. Sounds like a wonderful place. It says, have you heard of a church called the Way?
Is this a cult? Can you give me any information on this topic? I believe on my website I have a page you can pull down that talks about the Way founded by a man named Paul Weirrill, it is a cult, denies the deity of Christ, big time error, and definitely is off in many, many different directions. But stay away from the church called the way. I believe their headquarters is in Ohio. And this is definitely one group that denies the deed of Christ.
You know if you deny the deed of Christ, it says in 1 John 2 23, whosoever the nieth the Son, the same hath not the Father. So if you don’t have Christ, you don’t have the Father, and if you deny the Son and reject His deed, then you’re not going to be saved, you’re not going to enter heaven. So Deborah, I hope that answers Here’s a question. The church called the Way is a cult and it is one of the major things that they reject is the deity of Christ.
Mary in Bartow, Florida calls in and she says, what did Jesus mean by saying your redemption, draweth nine? Is this the Rapture? In Luke 21 where you’re quoting, he’s talking about the Second Coming, and he’s talking to Israel about signs in this world that would tell of his closeness to his return. And he tells them when these signs begin to come to pass, then look up and lift up your heads because your redemption draws nice. That’s the return of Christ at the Second Coming, not the Rapture.
But for us in the church age, of course, the next event for us is the Rapture. And that’s when we will… Get our brand new bodies and our redemption will be complete because we have been saved, but we haven’t gotten our new bodies yet, but that will be completed at the Rapture. But Jesus there in Luke 21, 25 through 28 is talking about his second coming. And he tells us how there’d be signs in the heavens and in the sun.
And on the earth. earth there would be distress of nations with perplexity and the sea and the waves would be roaring and so on. And men’s hearts would fail them for fear of the things that they see coming on the earth. I think we see all of that happening now and we’re getting close obviously to the second coming and since the second coming is close the rapture is even closer. And so I think we’re getting very close to the return of Jesus at the event of the rapture because at seven years nearer than the second coming Mary, it’s Luke 21, 25-28 is talking about the second coming in that passage.
And the redemption of the world and of the Old Testament saints will get their resurrection bodies as well to complete their redemption. And those that are living on the earth as believers will be able to enjoy the the Millennial Kingdom when Christ comes back and sets up his kingdom here on the earth and that’s what it’s talking about. We have Mike in Largo, Florida calling in, he leaves an unfair question and he says, can you tell me where in the Bible the pre-Sue duties specifically of the course of Abiyya being a two week duty as Zachariah’s performed in the Old Testament, those duties were and of course it doesn’t say in a specific place but obviously they served in the temple at that time and there were numerous duties associated with the sacrifices, with the actual worship at the temple and of course in Zacharias’ case his duty was to go in to
the prayer to the altar of incense and offer up prayers on behalf of the people during his term of office. Hopefully that helps a little bit Mike, but you would have to glean from many places to find out all the different duties of the priest. Mary in Largo, Florida calls in and says, why do Christians battle with sin? Well, that’s because we all live in a sinful world, Mary, and we all have a sinful nature, and Christians will have that battle as long as they’re in this world.
There are three tenses of our salvation, according to the Bible. The past tense is that we have been delivered from the penalty Supplementary AUTHOR.”. are we have been delivered from the penalty are we have been delivered from the penalty across. We are presently being delivered from the power of sin. The Holy Spirit in our life gives us the power to have victory over sin in our lives. And then the future tense of salvation is that one day we’ll be delivered from the presence of sin PHI, but not until we’re in heaven are we delivered from the presence of sin.
This is a sinful world and And we all have a sinful nature. And definitely we battle with that sin around us and the sin that is within us. Paul says in Romans 7, 18, 25 to 30 years after he was saved, the Apostle Paul says, I know that in me, that is in my flesh, Paul says, well, no good thing for how will to do the right thing is present with me, but how to perform that which is good I know not.
and Paul talks about the struggle with the sin nature, and he says the good that I would, I do not, but the evil that I would not, that I do. Tony in Rome, New York calls in and he leaves this off air question. Tony says, my believing wife committed adultery and divorced me. I am now engaged to be married to a believer. local pastors refused to marry us based on my previous divorce. Can I remarry?” And of course the answer is yes.
Matthew 19, Christ talks about how Moses gave a writing of divorcement and he talks about how if you are the innocent party in an adulterous relationship, then not only. Can you divorce and apparently she divorced you? You are now eligible to remarry and of course to marry a believer. And of course you just said that in your statement here. So I would read Matthew 19. I would read Deuteronomy chapter 24. And you Tony are certainly eligible to remarry. But I think you’d have to show those passages to those pastors.
I can’t understand if you are the innocent party of an adult-less relationship, you are certainly not only eligible to have the divorce yourself, but also to remarry. Thank you, Tony, from Rome, New York. We have Duane in Tampa, Florida on the line. Duane, welcome to my line, you’re on the air. How you doing, Dr. Hank? Good. I was only affiliated with the more’s. Do you have any? No, I’m not too sure what that’s talking about They deal with no, that’s a new one for me.
I have to do some homework on it. So But obviously he doesn’t accept Jesus. I’m sure right right? Yeah, well You know you don’t have to know a whole lot about all these what you do need to do is just present Christ and and pray that God will open their eyes to see the truth and see Jesus for who He is, God and flesh, the Messiah, the Savior. Like the angel told the shepherds when Christ was born unto you is born to stay in the city of David a Savior which is Christ the Lord.
Those three things are essential to understand Christ is a Savior and if He wants to go to heaven, he has to have a Savior. There’s no other way to have it apart from Jesus who is that Savior. Secondly, he is the Messiah, the Christ, which it says there, Luke 2, 11, and he’s thirdly he is the Lord he’s got. And so pray for him and I’ll try to find out more about the Moors, but I don’t know anything about them right now.
Thank you. That was Duane in Tampa, Florida, calling in. But whoever you’re talking to, it really doesn’t matter. If they don’t know Christ, there’s one thing that has to happen. They have to come to know Christ as Savior. Trusting Him is their only hope of heaven and God will save them. Off here, Edgar in Petersburg, Virginia just calls in and he says, were Christians saved before Pentecost? Will they be included in the Rapture? The answer is no. Old Testament saints and the tribulation saints will get their bodies at the second coming seven years after the Rapture.
Only those who are in this age from Pentecostal to Rapture will be in the event called the Rapture. Edgar says Dr. Stofield in his notes in 1st Thessalonians 4 17 says all bodies of the saved of whatever dispensation will be in the first resurrection. That’s because I think he lumps the rapture and the resurrection that occurs at the second coming seven years later as all being the first resurrection. I don’t like to define it that way because it leads to confusion, the same confusion Edgar that you’re experiencing.
I believe that the first resurrection is at the second coming and that’s of the Old Testament saints and the tribulation Saints. And I believe the Rapture is the Church Age is a special group all to themselves and the Rapture is the point in time when we of the Church Age get our resurrection bodies and I don’t like to classify it as the first resurrection. I classify it as simply the conclusion and end of the Church Age with the Church age saints getting their resurrection bodies.
Edgar Petersburg, Virginia, thank you very much. Offair Brian in Tampa, Florida calls in and he says, when the earth is destroyed by fire, what will happen physically to people who become saved during the millennium? And I believe obviously they will have their resurrection bodies and enter into eternity with us and live in New Jerusalem and enjoy the new heavens and the new earth. The Lord will provide. We’ve got lots more off-air so we’ll have to try to catch him tomorrow.

But we are at the end of the program. If you haven’t trusted Christ, would you just tell the Lord, Lord, I’m a sinner? We all are. But I trust Jesus Christ right now as my Savior, and I trust that He died and shed His blood to pay for my sins was buried, rose again from dead. And when you trust Jesus, as your only hope of heaven, God saves you. Then make that second choice to live for Him and God will bless you and reward you.

Be sure to tune in to another edition of Bibleline from Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida. Alright, I’m Dr. Englister and certainly we had a few difficulties at the beginning of the program. I don’t know what they were. Technically, we don’t know what happens sometimes, but the devil is out there. No doubt. Not wanting to have this information go out. You know, Hanukkah, as we mentioned. only mentioned in the New Testament and it’s all about Jesus. He comes into the temple on the very day of the celebration of its read-edication and he’s confronted as to whether he is Christ, the Messiah and the Jewish leadership reject him.
They take up stones to stone him because they said he was a man claiming to be God and that this was blasphemy. Isn’t that fascinating? Well in any case it’s a great way to present Christ to Jewish people who need to know that Jesus is indeed their Savior and receive Him as their Savior. I’m Dr. Engvens from and this is Bibleline.
