But we want to thank you in advance for your prayers and for your gifts. And if you could give a special gift at Christmas, that’d be great. of people make shopping lists and they put the kids and the nephews and the aunts and the uncles and the parents and the grandparents on the list but Jesus generally doesn’t even make the list. You know it’s his birthday and what are you planning to give to Jesus? Maybe you can give a special gift to the Bible on Christmas to The Christmas gift to Jesus.
You know the wise men gave all their gifts to Christ. Did you know that? I don’t remember anything coming out of the saddlebags of those camels that was a gift for Mary or a gift for Joseph. All of the gifts were exclusively given to Jesus. Consider if you would have to Bibleline and helping us end up this year completely paid up with everybody that Bible I know. And we thank you in advance. By the way, we hope that you’ll come out and visit us if you’re in the Tampa Bay area on our third Sunday, the December, we’re having a Christmas worship service at 10.30 in the morning with a wonderful Christmas dinner following.
We sure would love to have you be a part of that. And so make your plans. I believe you’ll have a wonderful time. So that’s what’s happening here at Calvary. And Bible and of course, is reaching out all over the world. and we are excited about the calls and letters that we get of encouragement from people everywhere that are listening to the Bibleline program. If you have your Bible, get it out and you might wanna take a look with me in a few things.
What is interesting at this time is that we have a lot of things about angels. People have angel collections. You go to the mall and they sell angels everywhere. But guess what? They’re not selling angels because everyone at least that I see and what you see on most people’s tree at Christmas and what you see decorating everything are female. And there are no female angels. Did you know that? Angels in the Bible always appear as men. There are no female angels and there are no baby angels because angels don’t have babies.
As you know, the angel population hasn’t changed even by one over the many millions and millions of years that angels have been around. That’s right. There has not been one increase or decrease in the angel population. The population remains the same. God created all the angels at one time. They are innumerable and the count hasn’t changed. They don’t have babies. I have been where I have seen statues of baby angels. They are so cute. They are chubby, well fed.
Have little wings sprouting out of their back. I will never forget. Even my grandmother carried this myth along as she would touch my back around my shoulders and she said, you know, I feel little wings beginning to sprout. Maybe you are going to be an angel. I’ll never forget my grandmother telling me that. Obviously, that’s totally wrong. But I would reach around and try to feel for those little baby angels wings sprouting out of my back. But angels don’t have wings.
That’s right. There is no angel in the Bible that has wings. Now some of you are going to get excited and you’re going to say, I know I’ve read somewhere. Well you may have read about the cherubim and the seraphim which are specially created beings very, very, very limited in number. And those are not the traditional angel that we talk about. The general angel, there are millions and millions and millions of them, don’t have wings. Whenever they appear, they always appear in the male sex.
It always appears men, and they don’t have wings. In fact, they’re mistaken for men. So they don’t go, they don’t have halos, they don’t have wings. You know when the two angels walked into Sodom, if you read Genesis chapter 19, to destroy the city, all the men of the city of the Bible says turned out, and they lusted after these angels which they thought were men. They had had great big flopping wings. They wouldn’t have had that impression. But apparently angels appear as very handsome men and were attractive to the men of Sodom.
And they came out to forcibly take them and rape them as they entered into the city of Sodom. Isn’t that amazing? So angels were mistaken for men. Little did they realize that these two men, which were really angels, were going to kill them all. The next day they would rain down fire and brimstone upon Sodom and Gomorrah and all those cities of the plain where Sodomim was practiced everywhere and they would be killed. would be destroyed. By the way, Jesus made a reference to that in the Gospels.
He said, as it was in the days of Lot, Lot lived in Sodom. He said, so shall it be in the days of the coming of the Son of Man. Obviously there is an explosion around the world of homosexuality. And how that God would judge them and how that Christ when He comes back would destroy all unbelievers. And obviously bring judgment upon sodomy and these things that are happening in our world today. We’re living, I think, close. This thing has really exploded in our faces, hasn’t it?
And Jesus isn’t that amazing? He’s God. And obviously as God, He knows in the future who would have ever predicted that in this time when Israel goes back to the land, it becomes a nation again, that the world would be filled with homosexuality. Boy did he nail it on the head. What an incredible prophecy Jesus gave when he said it would be again as it was in the days of Lot. One of the interesting things that I found in my studies is that I cannot find anywhere in the Bible where an angel ever sang saying anything.
Now that may not be a major point, and it won’t affect whether you’re going to heaven or not. But you know, there is no such thing as angels singing, at least according to the scripture. And here we are at Christmas time, and almost every Christmas hymn has angels singing. Now the point I’m making here is that hymns are not inspired, only the word of God is. So therefore we have to take a look at everything through the lenses of the Bible.
And when we do, we realize hymns are wrong and the scripture is right. And you know, every time somebody says, well, what about those angels that appeared to the shepherds the night when Christ was born? I believe that they were a huge course singing to the shepherds. Well let’s take a look and look to 11, rather Luke 2, 13 it says, and suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host. These are angels. Praising God, and notice it says, saying, saying, not singing, saying, not singing, saying, glory to God in the highest.
on earth, peace, good will toward men. Can you imagine millions and millions of angels, perhaps, all saying together in male voices, glory to God in the highest, on earth, peace, good will toward men? Wow, it would have been incredible to hear all these voices of male angels. Speaking together in unison, these wonderful words that we read here in Luke’s Gospel, chapter 2 verse 13, but not a reference to them singing and you’ll never find a reference anywhere. I wouldn’t even bring this up if it weren’t for the fact that you know all of us think sometimes that we’re familiar with the Bible stories, that we’re familiar with the Christmas story and we never even crack our Bible open to take a look and see we’ve got it right.
And if you do, you find out, oops, I’ve had it wrong. And angels are not females, angels are not babies, angels don’t sing, angels don’t have wings, angels don’t have halos. Obviously, so many things we’ve been misled to believe and it didn’t come from your Bible. Now, the point is, maybe, maybe you’ve taken it for granted that you have salvation right and maybe you’ve been taught wrong as I was the first 18 years of my life as I was raised in church and maybe you need to go take a fresh look and see if you got salvation right because that will make a difference between whether you go to heaven or hell.
If you don’t have salvation right you don’t go to heaven and the Bible tells us there’s only one condition to be met to be saved and that is believed on the Lord Jesus Christ and I shall be saved. The word believe means to trust. When you trust that Jesus died and shed his blood, it was buried in rose again from the dead. God saves you. Now I know some of the modern translations do whatever the readers want to read and they put the word sing in the Bible that angels sing.
But there’s nothing in the Greek in which the New Testament was written to ever hint that angels ever sang anything and you will not find that in the King James. But if you’re reading one of these new fangled translations which I believe delete. He says, this tort and pervert the word of God, then you probably, because you have a flawed translation, might be able to find a verse that says that angels sing, but that’s those translators who don’t really care about accuracy.
They want to sell Bibles. And it’ll maybe say that in your Bible. But if you check it out from the Greek and if you check it out in the King James, you’ll never find a verse anywhere. says that angels sings anything. Not a big point, but let me tell you, if you don’t have your salvation right, you’ll not make heaven. You don’t want to be airing E-R-R-I-N-G in the area of your salvation. That might mean an eternity in hell because you assumed that you had it right.
I’m Dr. Englunds from Mrs. Pibiline. We’re gonna go to the phone lines. We have people calling in and we have all fear questions. We’d love to hear from you. The phone number is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. We have Ken, he’s calling in from Plano, Texas. Plano, Texas. And Ken says, are the angels in Jude 1-6 the same as the sons of God in Genesis 6-2. If not, who are the angels in Jude? Well, the answer is they’re not angels at all in Genesis 6-2, so scratch that.
How do I know? Well, first up, we know that in Hebrews 1-5, God said He never called an angel His son. That’s right. God never called an angel His son. So if you read a passage about the Son of God or Sons of God, we’re not talking about angels because God never called an angel his son. So it’s not angels. Well who are the sons of God in Genesis 6-2? And we know it’s believers. We know that that is a phrase used throughout the Bible for those who become born again, those who become saved.
In John 1, 12, it says to as many as received Him that is Christ, to them God gave authority for them to become the sons of God, to those that believe on His name, which were born of God. To be born of God, to be born again, you must trust Christ and then you become the son of God. So these were believers marrying unbelievers in Genesis 6. Angels are not even present there. Well, angels in Jude are the ones that lived on this original earth under Lucifer’s authority as Lucifer who became Satan was in charge of this planet.
While we find in Jude it tells us that these angels left their first piece of real estate which was the earth and they tried to overthrow heaven. And if you read the verse, it’s an interesting verse, it’s the book just before the book of Revelation. Jude is only one chapter long, so you can easily scoot right by it without even trying. But it says here, and the angels which kept not their first estate, the first piece of real estate that God gave angels was the planet earth.
They lived here on the earth prior to Genesis 1 and 2. And all of the angels lived here on the earth. a third of them left it says here their own habitation. They left the place that God had given them to dwell and they tried to overthrow heaven. They were cast back down to the earth. The earth was judged and became boyed and without form and perhaps remained lifeless. Four millions and millions of years told maybe six thousand years ago, the spirit of God moved.
word move means to incubate. It talks about brooding upon. It’s translated that way other places in the Old Testament. That word move means that God apparently warmed up the earth, thought it out, got it ready for life again, and in seven days recreated life on the planet. So Ken, there are not angels in Genesis 6, so forget that. But the angels in Jude are the fallen angels, one-third of all the angels of God that followed Satan in this rebellion to go to heaven and overthrow it.
They left Earth where they were living their first piece of real estate. They left their habitation hopefully to overthrow God and have a new residence in heaven. Ken, in Plano, Texas, I hope that helps. Thank you for your call. We have Brian in Pensacola, Florida, and Brian. Welcome to the Bible and you’re on the air. Good morning Dr. Lindstrom. I have a question on the music in today’s searches. There’s a lot of plays or hints on a song, a few hints on the old time hints of the song.
That’s Brian in Pensacola. What is interesting today? I call this new praise and worship music 711. What do I mean by calling it 711? Well, there are seven phrases repeated 11 times And that’s about it. I mean, it’s not really very deep. It’s not real You know where you’re gonna learn. I love the hymns because they have great spiritual messages Wow, think about some of them. I love a mighty fortress as our God. Martin Luther the Reformer wrote that under a time of great persecution against those who stood up for the gospel and said they were saved by faith alone in Christ alone that they did not need the Roman Catholic Church to get them to heaven.
And so great persecution rained down upon Christians from the Catholic Church that really caused hundreds of thousands of Christians to be burned at the stake and to be killed and murdered and tortured because they simply said they trusted Christ alone to get to heaven. You know, in the Council of Trent in 1554 over a hundred anathemas were pronounced. And one of them was said that you were cursed and worthy of death if you simply said that you were trusting Christ and not the Church, the Roman Catholic Church, to save you.
You know why the early settlers came to America, don’t you? It was like rats fleeing a sinking ship. They were fleeing Europe, and you know, they always tell us for religious freedom. Freedom from what? Freedom from the tyranny of the Roman Catholic Church that was killing and torturing those who said that they were saved by faith without the Church by only trusting Christ. And so they wanted to get out of Europe and they fled to America. And if you read the constitutions of the 13 original colonies, every one of them said that they had come here so they could have the freedom to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ without persecution.
Isn’t that wonderful? That’s really what this country was founded on. People who fled so they could have the freedom to talk about Jesus. What has happened to our country? We truly have departed from that. But you know what is interesting today is that this is what is taking over the worship services today. If you read the book of Acts, the early church it says they came together, they continued steadfastly, it actually says in Luke in rather in Acts chapter 2, it says they continued steadfastly and the number one thing they continued steadfastly in was not praise and worship.
But it says the Apostles doctrine which is the word of God. And then if you read down the list of the things that they continued steadfastly in which was fellowship breaking a bread, prayers and witnessing, there is no mention of praise and worship at all. Nothing. Nothing. This is a new development. And you know today there is an unauthorized position in most churches, and that is a worship leader. There is no such thing in the Bible as a worship leader.
There were pastors, elders, deacons, but where are the worship leaders? There is no authorization for any such person, and yet today they have more time before the audience more than the preacher, and they really have a more elevated position. I personally believe, the first worship leader in the Bible was Aaron. If you read the story back there in Exodus, Moses went up into the mountain and so the people gravitated to Aaron and they said, you know, make us a God.
And so the worship leader led them into idolatry. And then it says they had music and they rose up to play and when Moses came down, he was furious and threw the tablets on the ground and broke them. And of course, God judged that nation because they had departed away from Him and gone toward idol worship. The first praise and worship leader was Aaron, and I think that’s the path that they’ve been going ever since, that they don’t lead us closer to the Lord.
But I think they cause us to depart. I’m a little bit afraid about where this whole thing is taking us. It was from the time of the Reformation that the Word of God was the most important thing in the Church. Now it’s the least important. Nobody cares about the Bible anymore in many churches. You don’t need one, but yet if you read Acts 2, what made the early church dynamic? They came together, they steadfastly continued. Number one at the top of the list was the apostles doctrine.
That’s gone today. Very few people come for that being the number one reason why they’re in church. They don’t come for that reason anymore and we have shifted away and therefore the Bible says they would not endure sound doctrine in the last days. But after their own lust in order to have their ears tickled, they would heap to themselves teachers, they would turn away their ears from the truth and be turned unto fables or lies. Thanks for that call from Pensacola and we have a number of callers here, we’re going to have to hold them through the break because we’ve already finished the first half of my blind.
Again, we’re leaving for Israel March 12 of Monday, coming back on March 23 of Friday. I’d love to have you with me. Tip number 14, what a learning experience it is, because it’s like a year of Bible college. It’s a crashed course on the scriptures as you actually are there where it happened as we studied the word. If you want to go, give me a call. This is Bibleline. I’m Dr. Englund. We’re going to take a break. We’ll come right back and we’ll do Bibleline part two.
So don’t change that now. I’ll be right back. Go away Bibleline will be back in a moment to pledge your support for Bibleline. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well I’m Dr. Englund Sriman and this is Bible and I’m excited to be with you. What a wonderful season this is, Christmas and Merry Christmas to you and your family. I hope you have a wonderful holiday. Great time to evangelize. Great time to reach your family with the Gospel of Christ.
We have lots of tools here in our Resource Center to actually effectively help you lead your family members to Christ. You know, if a family member were to die, would they go to heaven? If you’re not assured of that, you need to target them and make sure they get saved. We have tracks that actually work. They actually lead people to Christ. One of them is called, am I going to heaven? Actually works. Sometimes all by itself, you give it to a person, and if they read it, they get saved.
It’s so clear. Right on the money. I’ve never seen a track like it. I don’t think there’s a track better than this track that we use called Am I Going to Have? And all the verses are quoted there, highlighted. You can just leave it with a person and they have everything they need to know in that track to lead them to a saving knowledge of Christ. No better track on the planet. Dr. Link Sound. We also have a CD called How Permanent is Your Salvation.
I’ve never seen anything like it. God has blessed this CD. We’ve seen thousands get saved by this CD. People routinely get them and give them to lost people who are targeting to win the Christ. I hear stories all the time. One was of a fellow. He was given the CD. He’s a trucker driving from California back to the Florida area. He’s out in the middle of the country somewhere in Texas. He’s reaching over to change stations because they were fading in and out, you know, as you travel from one area to another.
He hit the wrong button and started the CD that he had put in there, which was this CD we’re talking about, how permanent is your salvation. At the end of the CD he got saved. He called the friend here in Tampa, they had given him that CD and said, guess what? I just, and he told the story. listen to that CD and I just got saved. Wow, that was rejoicing. That person called me and said, guess what, that CD led my friend to Christ and he was halfway across the country when he heard it and got saved.
Some of these things will help you. All our operators will be good to tell you how you can get some of these tools. Also, would you consider giving a special Christmas gift to Bible Land? It’ll help us clear out all of our bills from 2006 and start fresh in 2007. And your generous gift would be very helpful at this time. I want to thank you in advance and you can do that by credit card over the phone or call and get us to send you a non-glot.
But thank you in advance for giving and praying for Bibleline. We’re about ready to do the second half. So stay tuned. We’re going to come right back with Bibleline 2 in just about one second. Would you like to help Bibleline continue in your area? You can just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. We’re back from that break. If you’d like to call us here Bibleline, you can dial us at 1-800-576-3771 and we are ready to take your call or your question today.
Again, Merry Christmas. We’re in a wonderful season. I love Christmas time. Great chance to witness. You know, people are more apt to receive your track or your accept your invitation to attend church or listen to you tell about Jesus at this time of year, more than any other. That’s why this is a great time to evangelize. We have lots of tools here in our Bible and Resource Center. We’re open every day till about 4.30 in the afternoon. You can either come by if you’re in the area or you can go to our bookstore on the Internet.
And there we have pictures and descriptions and you can order right there from wherever you might be listening to Bibleline. And we have tracks and Bibles and books and things and gifts that you can give for Christmas and it’ll help Bibleline as well. We also want you to know that we’re leaving for Israel March 12, coming back on March 23, not sleeping on a Monday, coming back on Friday, 12 days in Israel. It’s equivalent to a year’s Bible education.
I’ll tell you, I’ve been 14 times, or this will be trip number 14. We’re going to be baptizing in the Jordan River. We’re going to be observing the Lord’s Supper right next to the hill of Calvary. We’re going to walk where Jesus walked and experience the Bible right where the story’s transpired. It is incredible. I can’t describe it to you, but you’ll come home and visualize the Bible. When you read about Jerusalem or Bethlehem or Nazareth, you’ll see it in your mind.
That’s right. Wow. And your geography will come clear and you’ll have a concept of the size and the beauty of the country of Israel, this place that we call God’s Land. Well, I hope you’ll go with me. Give us a call. We’ll send you the literature or you can pull it off the website by going to Bible Eye News on the homepage and you’ll be able to get it. By the way, we’re streaming now our Sunday morning message from Calvary, the church where I passed her.
If you go on the internet on Sunday morning about 11 o’clock, click on the camera on the home page and you’ll see some fluffy clouds going by and you’ll hear the Orogate Cross. And when I start the message, the audio and visual video will come up and it’s really great quality. We’re sending out a lot of signals so that you can get a big screen monitor. You can fill it up with a really sharp, clear picture and listen to the morning message.
We have people from California to New York that are watching now on Sunday mornings, the morning message and you can catch them later in archive. We also want to thank all of you who prayed for and give to the Bible and you’re the ones who keep this program on the air. Did you consider giving a special Christmas gift to Bibleline? You know a lot of people make their shopping list up and they list their kids, their grandkids, and their anson, uncles, and nieces, and nephews.
And it seems like Jesus doesn’t even make the list. You know it is His birthday. Did you know that? And sometimes He’s left out of His own birthday. Have you thought about giving to Christ? may be giving a gift to Bibleline as a way of giving to Christ, and we want to thank you in advance. Think about that. You can send it by mail. You can call and we’ll be glad to send you a novel with your address on it or recite it for you.
You can also give that gift by credit card over the phone. And we’re not really trying to get your money. We want to be able to continue Bibleline and let it be a blessing to you. And in order to carry that mission out. It requires a real partnership between our listeners and us because we’re the voice but you all are the ones who support the program and we’re totally dependent upon you, our listener. Consider it. Give a gift to Bibleline here at Christmas and I want to thank you in advance for your prayers and for your gifts to Bibleline and hopefully you’ll give a special gift here at Christmas time to Bible.
We got lots of people calling in, we’re gonna go now over to Orlando, Florida. We have in Orlando, George, and George, welcome to Bibleline Year on the Year. Hi, I was wanting what if you could explain to me what the several date means I would… I would just sorry what the Saturday and we should honor the state to a grad that day. All right. I’ll paint that a little bit more. Absolutely, sure. The seventh day is Saturday, and it is called the Sabbath.
And according to the Bible, it was given to Israel as a sign of God’s relationship with Israel. It was never really given to the Gentiles. And it was a part of the Ten Commandments that thou shalt keep the Sabbath. But you know when Jesus died on the cross of Calvary? Let me share with you George what it says in Colossians chapter 2. It says in verse 14 of Colossians 2, it says Christ, blotting out the handwriting of laws or ordinances that was against us which was contrary to us and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.
And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, trying something over them in it. And now verse 16 is diverse in Colossians. to George, write it down, let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of a holy day, or of the new moon, or of the Sabbath, which are shadow of things to come, but the body is of Christ. You know the Sabbath was a picture, I believe, of the millennium.
That Peter gives us a hint in 2nd Peter chapter 3 verse 8, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years and a thousand years as a day. When you read the context, it’s talking about the creation and the creative week that apparently those six days represented 6,000 years of human history and the seventh day represented a seventh thousand years, which we call the millennium. Now from Adam to Christ was only 4,000 years, that was four days.
From Christ first coming, now to his second coming, is two more days. And that’ll be a total of six days. So we’re almost right there. And the Sabbath pictured a day called the Day of the Lord. And obviously the Lord rested on the seventh day. The whole earth will be at rest during that thousand years, that seventh day. So, we are no longer under the law. We are not obligated to keep the Sabbath on Saturday. But Jesus established the worship day now for us in this age as Sunday.
Christ came back from dead on the first day of the week. His next major appearance you read in John chapter 20 was on the eighth day. That was the next Sunday. We know that Pentecost, when this age began, was a Sunday. Fifty days after the resurrection, Christ came back from the dead on a Sunday. Fifty days later, it’s seven weeks later, plus one day makes another Sunday. You read through the book of Acts and you read through the epistles of Paul.
The early church meant on Sunday, not on the Sabbath. So the Sabbath is still observed by Jewish people, but we who have trusted Christ to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ again from the dead every time we worship on Sunday. I hope that helps George. Oh he does. Alright, thank you very much. Very welcome and thank you for listening from Orlando, Florida. Thank you. Offer Tom in Tampa, Florida calls in and he says, were the Israelites that came out Egypt saved and I believe the answer is yes.
They had believed in the Passover Lamb, a picture of Christ. It says in 1 Corinthians 5, 7, for even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us. But let me give you a passage of Scripture that maybe would help you. It’s 1 Corinthians chapter 10 in verse 1, it says, more over-brother, and I would not that you should be ignorant how that all our fathers were under the cloud and all passed through the Red Sea. And all were baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea, and did eat of that same spiritual 1 meat, verse 4, look at this one, Tom in Tampa, and did all drink the same spiritual drink for they drank of that spiritual rock that followed them and that rock was Christ.
Wow. So here it talks about all, all, all, all. Look at how many times the word all occurs. So apparently they all were saved. Now that doesn’t mean that they were all dedicated and living for Christ. The Thessamors 5, but with many of them, God was not well pleased, and they were overthrown in the wilderness. So God disciplined the liquid believers, and apparently many of them were overthrown and died physical death, but yet I believe they were a redeemed people saved out of Egypt by the blood of the Passover Lamb.
We’re going to go now to Robert and Tampa. Robert, welcome to Bibleline Year on the Air. Good. I just wanted some clarification on Revelation 27. What chapter? I’m sorry. I’m not sure. It’s 27. Alright. How about 21-27? It says there should not enter into heaven, not even a lie. Is that the one you’re thinking about? about the thousand years okay well the thousand years is in chapter twenty and uh… so there talks about six times the length of christ rule on the earth will be a thousand years of thousand year king what is the question about the thousand years and and which is you know looking through that sure okay well when christ comes back he’s gonna bring peace on earth goodwill toward men what was announced at the first coming was postponed because christ was rejected and peace has been withdrawn from the earth and the
Bible said it would be nothing but wars ever since he would leave. And so that’s been true and look at the news today. Obviously we see war stories every day in the headlines. But when Christ comes back at the end of the tribulation period, seven years after the rapture, he will bring peace to the whole earth. The Bible says he’ll bring peace first to Jerusalem. And then Isaiah the prophet says peace will flow like a river to the ends of the earth.
of the whole earth will come to be at peace, the curse will be lifted and the deserts will blossom like a rose. The earth is going to be a wonderful place. The Bible says in Isaiah chapter 2 that the nations will learn war no more, that Christ will rebuke the nations and they will convert all their weapons of war. There will be a total disarmament into implements for the benefit of mankind. And so it’s going to be a great time and we’re We’re going to come back with Christ and rule and reign with Him during that thousand years.
So it’s a beautiful day ahead and it’s a thousand year day called the day of the Lord. It’s a thousand years in length and Revelation 20 tells us six times. It’s a thousand years long. Right. Very good then. Thank you so much. You’re very welcome, Robert. And that was Robert in Tampa, Florida calling in. We have now Vinnie in Hudson, Florida. Vinnie, welcome to Bibleline Good morning, Dr. Lindstrom. How you doing? Good. I’d like to make a comment. You hit the nail right on the head this morning about the, um, where is this country gone?
And I see that evident in which has happened up in the elected Congress. I have to take his oath of office using the Quran, not the Bible. We’ve really… Absolutely. And we have people there in the radical Muslims wanting to kill everybody else’s not Muslim. Isn’t that wonderful? Yes. and and for the listeners if they really want to wake up call want to do and it’s an eye opener to you absolutely right you know when we talk about uh…
the radical islam being a minority group uh… it’s about fifteen percent ten to fifteen percent of the total uh… number of muscles but you know that out numbers the whole population the united states were talking about probably three four hundred million radical muslims that want to kill us That’s a lot of people to deal with and obviously we’re living in a scary time. I think as Netanyahu said on an interview just a week or so ago that we’re three to five years out from Armageddon according to what is happening there in the Middle East with Iran and the nuclear bomb and so on that it’s scary.
We have people that are in leadership that want to destroy Israel and destroy the West. Benny, thank you for that call from Hudson, Florida. And we have some more off-air questions. We have Peter in Lansing, Michigan, just calls in and he leaves this question. If you can lose your salvation, what does departing from the faith mean? Well, the faith is a phrase used 43 times in the New Testament, the faith. It really talks about the body of truth contained in the New Testament.
And so there are people today that know very little about their Bible. In fact, if you were to ask the average church member to quote five verses of scripture. I doubt if you could find many647th verses of scripture. I personally have memorized thousands of verses from scripture. That’s what makes it possible for me to do what I do. I used to use three by five cards and I had a stack of nearly 5,000. I would take a handful every day and review them and I went about my business during the day until I had 5,000 down where I could tell you and quote them exactly, perfectly.
5,000 is not the limit of my goal, but I think we ought to memorize as much scripture as we possibly can. And when you depart away from the Bible, it’s because you’re not reading it often. If you keep your Bible zipped up, you are not allowing God to talk to you. You know the way that God speaks to us is through the Bible. The way we talk to God is through prayer. And if you keep your Bible on the shelf or zipped up, you’re not allowing God to speak to you.
So departing from the faith means you’re not listening. You’re not allowing God to speak to you. You need to be in the Bible daily. Jesus said in Matthew 4, 4, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. We have Betty in Tampa and Betty, welcome to Bibleline you’re on there. Good morning Pastor Hank, vocals revelation and I keep getting stumped on chapter 8 verse 1. Iiversal find an answer as to why the Bible says when he opened the seventh seal there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.
I heard somebody tease now you’re not going to get too mad but they said that’s because there’s no women in heaven that there’ll be silence. I’m teasing of course. of course. I think the real answer is that this is like the lull before the storm, that there’s a period of silence and then all of a sudden this tribulation period will come suddenly on the whole earth and there will be no escaping it. If you compare that with 1st Thessalonians 5, it talks about how that the believer escapes it, we’re going to be raptured out, but the unbeliever will be caught off guard as the thief comes and doesn’t call to an advance and say, I’m coming over to rob your house tonight at 10 o’clock, be ready.
They won’t be ready. And it will come upon them as a sudden destruction from the Lord. So I think that there’s a moment of or a period of quietness and then all of a sudden boom, this thing hits the world by storm and they’ll be caught by surprise. As I’ve been reading through the sales and then we start with the trumpets, the three woes come in. Are they expecting because they already know what’s going to happen on the service and that’s why they’re saying, wall, wall, wall.
Well the three woes are the last three trumpet judgments. find that as you read that chapter 8 here it tells us the it says woah in verse 13 woah woah woah which is W-O-E judgment judgment judgment to the inhabitants of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels which are yet to sound so the last three trumpets are the three woah judgments. Okay all right now there’s parenthetical chapters I’m reading from the school field.
But there are identical chapters. Are these overflowing each other? I mean, another one. I think the book revelation is like going back over and over and over again. I believe the key is that if you notice carefully the sixth seal, the sixth trumpet and the sixth bold judgment are all the same event. It’s Armageddon. The seventh seal, the seventh trumpet, and the seventh bowl is actually the return of Christ at the Second Coming. Right. So then you back up, and these are like overlays where you put them on top of one another, and you give a positive picture of all the different judgments taking place during the tribulation period.
I believe the seals span the entire seven years, but I don’t think the trumpets take place until the second half or the last three and a half years. And then I believe the bold judgments are those intense judgments that perhaps occur in the last year or maybe the last six months of the tribulation period. Okay, very good. Thank you so much. I appreciate your explanation. Thank you, Betty. And I do have 12 hours of teaching on Revelation, a series on CD that I taught that people love.
I can’t tell you how many Bible studies have been conducted using my CDs as the teaching material. And people have just loved them. We’re going to Kyle in Sarasota, Florida and Kyle. Welcome to Bibleline you are on the air Kyle. Hey doctor, hey I just have a quick question. You said… I caught you saying one time that a third of the population is going to get killed and you said like 20 billion or something. Well, two billion. It’s a third of six billion.
Six billion is the world population. So a third would be at least two billion people die. And that’s in Revelation chapter nine, by the way. And it says that at the sixth trumpet that it says to slay a third part of Ben. So I take it a third of the world’s population will be killed in that event And you said in an hour also why where is that? Chapter 18 three times that mentions Armageddon will be over in one hour if it’s nuclear You can see how that could happen because if we can strike Russia in 30 minutes with our intercontinental ballistic missiles They can hit us in 30 minutes.
They can hit Europe in 10 minutes And so if everybody released their you know missiles all at one time time, all of the exchange could be over within an hour and the Armageddon would be over that quick. Boom, boom, boom. He said that with Revelation chapter 18. Chapter 18, three times, it mentions that it’s over in one hour. Let me see. It says here in verse 10, in one hour. It says in verse 17, in one hour. So great riches has come to not.
In verse 19 in the last phrase it says, in one hour this desolation occurs. And so that’s, you know, we used to think of wars taking years like World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam and so on. But this is the, and of course we were amazed when Israel had their 60 war, but this is a war that is global that takes a third of the lives of all the people on the planet over in one hour and we don’t laugh because we know that now we have the capability of doing that that’s amazing you said that you have a good three to five years and i think he’s off on the he doesn’t know the bible chronology but but basically saying that he’s that i ran is going to have nuclear bomb between three to five years which means all of our policy that’s going to settle off so
and now i don’t think it’s the actual battle of our again because it has to happen seven years after we leave at the rapture at the end of the tribulation period so i would say if the rapture happened today would be seven years from now but that yahoo is really talking about that were were headed toward army getting and uh… once i ran has a lookout were on a collision path with the battle of army getting that’s great kadaw is wondering if he’s waiting for the favor but he would be fine tonight and oh yeah right he’s referring to uh…
that madman it’s in charge of the ones to destroy israel and the west and if he gets the nuclear bomb look out he’s going to use it yeah he thinks he’s on a mission yep and i know he does alright thanks doc all right and uh… again you know uh… the muslims because they have the wrong belief system have never really brought anything to the table you know they have any significant scientific breakthroughs or accomplishments or anything else and so the only thing they can do to prove that they’re supposedly superior is to kill everybody that doesn’t believe like they do.
So think of it, you know, it’s really the most scientific advancements have happened where the Bible has been and Christianity has flourished. This is really where God has blessed and the Islam really hasn’t given us any thing in the way of a major scientific contribution at all. And so I believe that in order to prove themselves the best, they don’t think it is wiped out the competition so they wanna kill everybody else. Of course that’s what the core end instructs them to do.
All right, we have some more off air questions. We’re gonna try to catch some of these here. And we just had Peter in Lansing, Michigan. And I hope that answered your question. You can’t lose your salvation Peter. John 637 Christ that he would never cast out anyone that comes465, even better John 639, he says he would not lose one. Not one person who has ever trusted Christ would ever be lost. We have Phil in Largo, Florida. He says when Christ died and before he rose where was his soul?
And the answer is in the heart of the earth in paradise. He said of Matthew 1240, right this downfill, he’d be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. In Luke 23, 43, he tells the dying thief that believed, today thou shalt be with me. In Paradise, so we knew he went to the heart of the earth and therefore we now learned also paradise was in the heart of the earth. And so his soul was in paradise.
On the third day, he went back into the tomb and resurrected that physical body. And so his soul was in paradise very in the three days and three nights. But we are at the end of the program.
