And again, we thank you so much for tuning in to Bibleline today. We’re going to go to 2 Corinthians 5 verse 17 is a popular verse, and yet it is most often misapplied or misunderstood.

And so if you’ll check it out in your Bible, 2 Corinthians 5, 17 says, therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, should read creation. Speaks about the new birth that occurs when you trust Christ as Savior, you become born again. Then it says, old things are passed away. Behold, all things are become new. Generally the way this verse is used by people is they’ll say, I used to do this, that, the other, but now I’m wonderful and I don’t do those things anymore.

It really has nothing to do with your behavior or your conduct or those kinds of things. It has to do with the old conditions that existed prior to your salvation are now passed and now brand new conditions exist. I’ve seen so many people when they would hear that kind of testimony and say, well, maybe I’m not saved because not all things are brand new in my life. And obviously the verse is being misapplied when you say, well I used to, you know, do this and the other and now I…

I’m a good person, I’m one or one and wouldn’t you like to be like I am? Well, that’s not the application. You know, the old conditions are, for example, we were lost, but now we’re saved. We were headed for hell, now we’re headed for heaven. We were a child of the devil, but now we’re a child of God. We were under the law, but now we’re under grace. And there’s dozens of these brand new conditions that exist. At the moment you become born again, you become God’s child.

you become his forever. So it’s not talking about the fact that your life has changed. It’s used that way often and that’s really a wrong application of the verse. That’s not talking about that at all. If any man is born again, the old conditions that existed prior to the new birth have passed away and now behold all brand new conditions exist for you. We were obviously headed for hell, and now we are, of course, headed for heaven. We are believers saved forever and ever and ever.

Verse 18 in 2 Corinthians 5 goes on to say, all things are of God who have reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ. What is interesting about the Bible is that salvation is done by God. It’s not what we do to save ourselves. It’s what God did for us that brings about our salvation. And that’s the exact opposite of all the religions of the world, including the Christian counterfeit that I call the Christian religion. All religion, all of the religions of the world teach that you have to work your way to heaven.

You have to do something of self to saying prayers, doing penance, going to mass, whatever it might be. Church membership, living the Christian life, those are all wrong answers. It’s not what we do for God that brings about salvation, but it’s what God did for us through Jesus Christ. And it tells us plainly here that it says here, all things are of God who have reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ. Christ is the Savior. is the answer. When we trust Him, we become saved based upon what He did for us and His finished work at the cross of Calvary, not based upon what we do for Him.

And you know, once you see that, you’ll see the clear difference between those who have the truth and those who do not. Those who do not have the truth are based upon works. Those who have the truth are based upon Christ’s sacrifice and his mercy, his grace that is bestowed upon anyone that would believe or trust on Christ as Savior, God saves those and those alone. As long as you are trying to work your way to heaven, you will not be saved.

It says in Romans 4 5 to him that worketh not, but believeeth on Christ who justifies the ungodly, his faith in Christ is counted for righteousness. So we find here that it’s not what we do for God that saves. And yet every one of the groups that teach you can lose your salvation are implying that we have a part, that it’s how we live our lives. And it’s what we are going to do and that we’re going to have to have good works or it will show that we’re not not going to be saved at all.

That’s not true. That’s not true at all. We are saved by faith alone in Christ alone. And even if you did nothing once you were saved and died instead stood before the Lord, you’d still be saved. Because it tells us in 1 Corinthians 3, 15, at the judgment of the state of Christ, if any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer for loss, speaking of loss of reward in the context, but he himself, the Bible says, shall be saved.

He himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire. First Corinthians 3.15 marked that down. It says, if any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss, but he himself shall be saved. So he’s saved, but he suffers the loss of reward in eternity because He did not live for Christ here. But living for Christ here has nothing to do with our salvation. It has everything to do with rewards. Did you know that believers go to heaven, that unbelievers go to hell, but every believer will have their works examined one day to determine the degree of reward.

The unbeliever will stand at a totally different judgment and they go to hell because they reject Christ, but their works will be examined one day to determine the degree of punishment in hell that they will receive. And so the unbelievers works count very much in determining what degree of punishment they’ll receive in hell. Whereas the believer, their works count as a result of the unbeliever’s Unbeliever will stand at a totally different judgment and they go to hell because they’re unbelievers because they reject Christ, but their works will be examined one day to determine the degree of punishment in hell that they will receive.

And so the unbelievers works count very much in determining what degree of punishment they’ll receive in hell. Whereas the believer their works count and agree with you. in a great way for the degree of reward they’ll receive as they enter heaven. So works play an important part, but not for salvation, but for what happens at destination. Believers go to heaven, unbelievers go to hell. Believers will be examined by the judgment seat of Christ as to what they’ve done with their deeds in their life, and that will bring about reward or loss of reward.

The unbeliever will be judged at the great white throne judgment described in Revelation 20, and their works will determine the degree of punishment and hell. Did you know that the degrees of punishment and hell? Satan is the worst punished in hell and his angels. And then those in the human race will be judged according to what light they rejected, what deeds they did, what sins they committed. One of the greatest sins, by the way, then an unbeliever can commit that would get them a high degree of punishment in hell is to fight against the gospel and oppose those who preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

That’s right. The Bible tells us exactly that over in 1 Thessalonians where the Bible tells us that those who were opposing the preaching of the gospel were in real trouble. It says here in verse 16, in 1 Thessalonians chapter 2, forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins always for the wrath of God is come upon them to the uttermost. Wow. So it’s saying here, if there was somewhat of a sin thermometer, if you want to get that thing cranked up right to the top, all you have to do is oppose the gospel going out to fight against the preaching of the gospel of Christ.

And if you do that, it says here that’ll fill up your sin phemaum and are right to the top, and that the wrath of God will come upon you to the utmost. In other words, you’ll get the fullest degree of punishment in health that anyone could get. So obviously there are spiritual sins that are obviously very high on God’s list. And those sins against Christ and against the Bible and against the preaching of the gospel are right at the top of the list and they will incur a great degree of punishment in hell.

But the believer is safe from the moment he puts his trust in Christ. He’s assured of going to heaven. I talked to a lady yesterday who told me that through Bibleline she has been set free. She doesn’t now worry every day about whether she’s going to be lost and go to hell. She says, now I know I’m saved forever. What a relief. What a freedom, she said. And you know, that’s what Christ said. You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.

This thing of worrying about whether you’re going to go to hell or not is no longer something that the Christian, the genuine believer has to worry about because the Bible says Christ saves us forever. And He promises that He will not lose you. You know in John 1028 Christ says, I give them to them eternal life. First of all, it’s eternal. Secondly, He says, they shall never perish. That means they’ll never go to hell. The second death is to be cast into hell.

And this verse is saying they’ll never perish. They’ll never experience the second death. Thirdly, he says, I will not let them or anyone pluck them out of my hand. He holds us in his hand and we’re held tightly by Christ. So much bad preaching says, keep holding on. Keep holding on to Christ. Keep the faith. You know, endure to the end. All of that is nonsense as far as your salvation is concerned. We don’t hold on to him. He holds on to us.

He says, neither shall any pluck them out of my hand. We’re held in Christ’s hand. He’s the one that keeps us saved, and therefore we cannot be lost. But as a believer, we need to wake up and realize that one day we’re going to stand before that judgment, and we’re going to suffer loss of reward, or we’re going to enter heaven with rewards, treasures that we laid up in heaven. And so as a believer, we need to get going.

I remember as a real believer learning about these passages and I said, whoa, I need to get serious now about living for Christ because I’m going to lose out on rewards in heaven. I never feared losing my salvation. Why? Because the Bible said my salvation was secure. I was saved forever by Christ and he kept me safe. But I could lose out on reward. And I said, I am really focusing on this world and earthly treasures when I really should be focused on heavenly treasures and my eternity and what kind of rewards I’ll have there.

And so obviously I began to really quickly change my life and move it in the direction of doing things. that would count for God. And you know, every believer can earn rewards. If you just read your Bible every day, you’d be rewarded for that. If you just prayed every day, you’d be rewarded for that. If you just attended church faithfully, you’d be rewarded for that. If you just witnessed, gave a cup of cold water in the name of Christ to someone, helped someone out and told them about Jesus, you’d be rewarded in heaven.

And the list goes on and on and on. There’s hardly anything we can do. It says in Corinthians whatever you do whether you eat or drink Whatever you do do it under the glory of God and God is going to reward you for those faithful deeds But salvation my friend is God’s gift. I’m dr. Inklynstrom. This is Bibleline. We’re gonna go to the live callers and the Off-air questions the phone number again is 1-800-576-3771 and we have Benjamin in clear water and and Benjamin welcome to Bible Art.

Good morning, Dr. Han. I would like to have two questions please. One is how we pray in the spirit. Because sometimes when people pray, sometimes you know coming in you know things in my flesh and I surprise myself. And then I would like to know how we can avoid that and just pray in the spirit. We like to know the difference between praying the flesh and pray in the spirit. And my second question is, in Revelation Jesus is going to give to us a little white stone.

They are named there too. What does that mean? What is the name of that stone? What is the name of that white stone? Okay. Thank you. And as far as praying in the Spirit, that means really praying in accordance with what the Spirit would direct you to pray. You know the Spirit, the Holy Spirit is God. And He is the author of scripture, the Bible tells us, that the Spirit of God moved the or directed or super intended the prophets and the apostles as they wrote the scriptures.

And so what we have here is really the word of God. So to pray in the Spirit means you’re going to pray right in line with what the Spirit God has directed us to do in the Bible. And so that’s what it means. When you play in the flesh, you’re just choosing whatever your flesh desires to pray for, but you’re not following the guidelines that God has given. We have a wonderful book in our Resource Center called Prayer, Asking Me and Receiving by John R.

Rice, one of the best books on prayer that I’ve ever read. It’s a classic, and I think it’s only about eight dollars, but it’s a wonderful, wonderful book on prayer. If If you’re curious about prayer, let me encourage you to read that book by John R. Rice, Prayer, Asking and Receiving. We have that in our Resource Center, just call and we can ship it out to you. Also in regard to the second one, in Revelation 2, 17, it talks about believers receiving a white stone.

Most Bible scholars all agree that this is probably a diamond and he gives us to the church his bride and every believer in the church age we’re going to receive this white stone. That’s really where the tradition came where a bride is often given a diamond by her groom. Have you noticed in all the weddings I’ve ever performed I’ve never seen a different stone than a diamond. I’ve seen some just gold bands but I’ve never seen a stone in the wedding ring that was in a diamond.

That tradition comes right out of the Bible as so many of the customs and traditions we have and relationship to weddings and other things come right from the Scriptures. And that white stone apparently will be significant in size, I would believe, since you’re going to have your name written in it. And that new name I think is the name that you’ll receive Benjamin when you get to heaven. Just like When you were born physically into this world, you were given a name by your parents.

They named you and you are living today with that same name unless you went to court and had it changed. But that is your name. When you become born again, guess what? God the Father has the privilege of giving you a new name. That new name will be written in that stone, and that is the name you live with in eternity forever and ever. In the Bible, we already see some getting their new name upon their salvation. Jacob had his name changed when he got saved to Israel, which means child of God.

Abraham became Abraham. Sarah, I became Sarah. And Saul became Paul, the apostle. And it’s interesting how that works out. And so some got their new names early. Simon became Peter. And you see a lot of these in the Bible. And it’s interesting when you follow, for example, in the life of Peter. When Christ refers to him in his old nature and in his old ways. old ways he calls him Simon, but when he speaks of Peter in a spiritual way, he calls him Peter, and it seems to follow throughout.

I know for myself I was really named on my birth significant Henry, and I was always called up until I got saved. And then the fellow that led me to Christ began to call me Hank. I didn’t like it at first. I rebelled against that, but you know I couldn’t stop it. Everybody began to call me by the nickname Hank. And And then I just read in the scripture about my new name and I said, maybe I’ve gotten it.

Maybe the Lord has given me this new name now which has to do with my new birth, my new life in Christ. And so now I enjoy my new name because I believe that God really did that because I would never have ever changed what I had been called for the first 18 years of my life. When I got saved, it was like I got a new name and I couldn’t do a thing about it. I couldn’t stop. I would correct people.

It didn’t work. It didn’t matter. They just continued to call me Hank from then on. And so Hank is my new name and I believe that is Possibly when I get to heaven that will be the name written in that stone. I don’t know Maybe God will give me a different name, but certainly he did give me a new name here on this planet Because from the time I got saved on that’s been the name by which I’ve been called and thank you Benjamin for those questions and hopefully that helped.

We have Michael calling in from MacDill Air Force Base and he says, at the time of the Rapture, where do we go and how long do we stay there? Alright, answer is in 1 Thessalonians chapter 4 verse 17 and 18, it says we go to meet the Lord in the air and from that point on we’ll forever be with the Lord, but really what happens is we go to heaven and there during those seven years we’ll be standing before the Lord at the judgment seat of Christ described in 1 Corinthians chapter 3, our works will be examined and rewards will be dispersed among the believers.

And then at the end of the seven years we will come back with Christ at his second coming as he rules and reigns over the earth and we will be ruling and reigning with Christ. So Michael I hope that helps answers that question. Excuse me. We have Bob in New York. He says, is preaching on hell for the sake of compelling a person to receive salvation wrong? I’ve noticed many denominations are steering away from hell topics because they feel it’s not nice.

Well, Well, obviously Christ spoke more about how did he do it about heaven. If you read the New Testament, Jesus spoke again and again about hell because he didn’t want people to go there. That’s the very reason why he left heaven and came to the earth. Christ died so that none of us would ever have to go to hell when you trust him he’d become saved. So I don’t think it’s wrong at all. I think it’s clear. You know when Paul wrote to the Romans in Romans chapter 1, he didn’t wait to chapter 16, the last chapter in the book of Romans, but he clearly tells him right up front in chapter 1, he didn’t wait very long to tell it.

In verse 18, for the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress or hold down the truth of the gospel. So obviously God is a God who tells us right up front that there is a hell and unless you trust Christ you’ll not go to heaven. Thank you Bob. Excuse me. By the way, if you want to call in the number is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. You’re welcome to call in and ask a question.

That was Bob from New York. Thank you for asking that one. We have Jackie in Pennsylvania. And Jackie says, you talked about the whereabouts of Moses’ body being unknown and that God is going to bring him back to the earth and you explain what scripture. Well, first of all, Jude, verse 9 talks about Satan disputing with Michael the Archangel over the body of Moses. Apparently, Satan is calling foul because Moses died and yet the body of Moses has apparently been preserved by God so he can come back.

during the first three and a half years of the tribulation period after the Rapture. If you read Revelation 11, Jackie, it talks about two prophets that come back from the Old Testament after the Rapture and will preach for the first three and a half years of the tribulation. One of them is Moses, the other is Elijah. There’s no problem with Elijah because Elijah is obviously one who never died. caught up in a fiery chariot. But we do have Moses dying, and that becomes the question because it’s appointed unto men once to die, and then the judgment.

I believe Moses is an exception here, and we find that Moses’ body has been preserved so he can come back. You’ll see in Matthew chapter 17 in the Mount Transfiguration that when Jesus is seen as he will be in the Second Coming Moses and Elijah stand there with Christ in the Second Coming. So those are the two prophets that are described I think in Revelation 11. We got to go to break. I hope you’ll keep listening so that you’ll catch the second half hour of Bibleline.

Alright, we’re back for that break and this is the second half hour of Bible Henn and we’re coming to you from Tampa, Florida from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church where I pastor and we’d love to have you combine seas sometime.

If you’re ever in the Tampa Bay area, please knock on our door and say hi. Our resource center is open every day till about 4.30 in the afternoon and of course you can always combine worship whether it’s on a Sunday or a Wednesday. We have about 40 of these courses that we have recorded and are available to you on CD. Some of the later ones now more recently have been videotaped and they are also available on DVD and you can use them for your personal study but also a lot of people use them to facilitate a Sunday school class, a home bible study or other teaching events where they They play a portion of my CD, group discussion, and we’ve heard from people all around the country that have used the CDs in that way as a teaching facilitator on any particular topic.

We have CD sets on the book of Revelation, the book of Daniel and Jude Revelation. I said Revelation, but Hebrews and Romans is one of my favorites and we cover verse by verse. the wonderful teachings in these books. And you might want to order those, and you can do it on the Internet. If you go to my online bookstore on BibleLineMinistries.org or .com, you can go to the online bookstore and see all of these things, but you can call if you don’t have Internet, and we’ll send a resource sheet to you, or you can just talk to our operators about what you might be interested in, and we can help suggest some of the teachings, and also of course the books and Bibles we have.

We have the Schofield Bible here, the old Schofield, which is the one that is obviously the one I recommend that has the great notes on doctrine that will really help you. And you can order that on the phone. We have everything from soft back to hard back to leather and to large print. So I recommend highly. If you don’t have a good study reference Bible, the old Schofield reference Bible. Again, we thank all of you who pray for us.

We surely appreciate your prayers and know that God does here and answer prayers. And thank God for all of you who pray. We appreciate that so much. And also, we appreciate all of you who give to my blend. Your financial gifts are what keep this program on the air. Without your gifts, we could not be on the air. We are totally financed by the giving of our listeners. And without your gifts, we would go off the air. So if you want to help us assure that this program comes to you every day, then we need your help.

And you can do that by mail, you can send a gift to my malign by mail, or you can give a gift by credit card on the phone. If you call our operators, they’ll be happy to send you an envelope with our address on it, or you can call and will recite the address solely so that you can get that address written down and send your gift to my malign. We have a lot of off-air questions. We’re going to try to take a bunch of these if we can here.

If you want to call in, dial us at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Alright, it says here in Deuteronomy chapter 30 verse 4, Rick of Tampa calls, explained the outmost of heaven. It’s talking there about the dispersed of Israel that will be re-gathered back to the land at the second coming. And it could be that there may be Jewish astronauts that would be brought back from a space station out in space. I don’t know. But certainly it’s talking about people in remote parts, maybe mountainous parts of the world.

But it’s not talking about. . . . . . . . . . I don’t think in outer space it’s talking about, but it could be. And if it is, maybe there might be some in orbit around the planet that the Lord would bring back to the land in the Millennial Kingdom. We have Danny in Hillsborough, Ohio. Hillsborough, Ohio. Danny calls in and leaves this offer a question. Why do we have worship services on Sunday instead of on the Sabbath day?

And the reason why is because Christ himself changed that worship day. He came back from the dead, Danny, on Sunday, not Saturday. The next major appearance by Christ was on the eighth day. That was one week later on a Sunday. We find that Pentecost, when the church age began, was on a Sunday. You find in the book of Acts when they came together to worship, they came to worship on Sunday. If you read 1 Corinthians 16, it talks about when the believers at Corinth came together, they worshiped on Sunday.

So right from the get-go, we commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ again from the dead every time we worship on Sunday. So Danny, I hope that helps. And that was Danny from Hillsborough, Ohio calling in. And we appreciate all of you that are listening and calling in from all different parts of the country. Thank you for listening to Bible and we also have Mike in New York. He says, I’ve heard you condemn the Seventh-day Adventist. What is your position on Seventh-day Baptist?

I’m not real certain if the Baptist make the Seventh-day conditional for salvation. If they do, then they’re in the same camp with the Seventh-day Adventist. The Seventh-day Adventist teach that to worship on Saturday is the mark of the living God, to worship on Sunday is the mark of the beast. So obviously, salvation is conditional upon Seventh-day worship, but I’m not too sure about the Seventh-day Baptist. And so as long as they believe in salvation by faith and not by works, Mike, it doesn’t matter.

If they want to worship on Saturday and Sunday, that’s not the issue. But if you make it a condition for salvation, then definitely you’re an error and have straight away from the Bible. We have Barbara in Lakeland, Florida on the line, and Barbara, Welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Air. Yes, I want to know if my spirit and my will is the same thing. No, it’s not. Your will is the choice that you can make which is from your soul, but your spirit is the means by which you can receive spiritual information from either God or from the unseen world of Satan.

So my will would be a part of my soul, my desire, my appetite. Yes, all come in your soul. Even though my will is the door to the Holy Spirit coming into my spirit. Well, when you trust Christ, you make a choice to trust Christ, but when you do, then the Holy Spirit comes to indwell you. That happens at the moment of belief. And it comes about by trusting Christ. John 739, Christ said that the Holy Spirit would be given to those that believe.

So when you believe you receive the Holy Spirit, Ephesians 1, 13 and 14 says after you believe the gospel, the Holy Spirit came in and sealed you as his possession. So you’re sealed and you’re indwelled by the Holy Spirit at the moment of belief. And when that occurs for everyone who trusts Christ’s Savior. So that’s Ephesians 1, 13 and 14, uh-huh. Thank you so much. You’re so welcome, Barbara, and Lakeland, Florida, and call again and keep listening to Bibleline.

Alright. We now have Betty in Beverly Hills, Florida, and Betty, welcome to Bibleline. Yes, good morning, Brother Lynch. I’m just going to fill you in on a little bit of the continuing saga. Yesterday morning, my husband and I had a meeting with our pastor and two of the deacons who had yelled at me and faulted me for saying Mother Teresa had died, not as a Christian. And they had screamed at me, what about Hitler? Could you judge his heart or also?

Do you have that ability? Would you accuse him of not being a Christian? And I brought scriptures, test the spirits and so forth. that we certainly have to make judgments in certain areas so far as if we’re single, we have to discern whether the person we’re considering marrying is in fact a Christian or not. But to make a long story short, it was also an anti-Semitic attitude so far as the Jewish people don’t need to be brought out of the house.

The scriptures from the Old Testament. They can learn exactly like everybody else. And he gave Romans road. And now I understand that the Southern Baptist, a lot of our saturation association is going to be teaching how to win the Jehovah Witnesses and the Mormons to Christ. So we we prayed with them. We told them we just could not be a part of nor support this particular work. So we have officially left. I guess I’m just looking for a little bit sympathy or support.

from you. Sometimes it’s kind of tough, but certainly the Jewish person needs to be saved, but oftentimes they’re not going to even look or listen to anything from the New Testament. And Paul obviously was very successful in leading Jewish people to Christ by using the Old Testament. In Acts 17 in particular, it says there that as his manner was, he went into the synagogue and there he got into a discussion with the Jewish worshipers and he alleged that Christ had to suffer and die and come back again from the dead and he showed them out of the scriptures and that had to be the Old Testament scriptures at that time and it says there that many would believe in.

So he was leading people to Christ, Jewish people to Christ by presenting the Old Testament Scriptures. Even in Romans where they went and take the Romans road, it quotes there the Old Testament from Isaiah 53 in chapter 10 of Romans where it talks about, if you believe in your heart that Jesus died and rose again and so on, that a little bit later it talks about Isaiah saying, who have believed our report? That wonderful chapter that it’s quoting is chapter 53 that tells the whole story of Jesus.

So I don’t know how you can just shut off the Old Testament. The Bible is one book, I believe. I quoted all scriptures profitable and so forth. Well, he really would like to just briefly, I’m sorry to take your time again, is what about this blanket? Absolutely no judging in any way, shape or form. Well that’s really craziness, obviously all through the New Testament. You see it Peter, for example, when Simon, chapter 8, thought he could buy salvation. Peter says you need to change your mind here.

You need to repent of this evil thought of yours that you could buy salvation and purchase it. And he says you need to have part nor lot in this matter. The word madder there in the Greek is logos, the very name for Jesus. So he says, you have no part in Christ because you are trying to get it by buying salvation. He needed to change his mind and receive it by faith. And he could have been saved. So obviously, Peter discerned very quickly that Simon was not saved.

And you see that throughout the New Testament where they recognized it. And you know, the church at Ephesus in Revelation 2 was commended for the fact that they recognized those that were false and didn’t agree with the Bible in their teaching. And the Bereans also searched the scriptures and they recognized those that were false. And the whole book in Galatians warns the Galatian believers about these sneaky people that came in undercover and began to change and pervert the gospel.

And he says they creep in unawares and they spy out our liberty in Christ and they try to steal it from us and change and pervert the gospel of Christ. Which is true. You have to be on target there with what the Bible says. That would be the wolves and sheep’s clothing. And I believe judging would really come out of a discernment which only a true Bible believing Christian could have. Where you’re not the judge, Betty, is in the area of the things that you cannot have any knowledge of.

I can’t judge a person’s motive because unless they tell me what their money was, I don’t know. I can’t judge the secret things at the heart that I know nothing about. God will one day reveal all those things when we stand before Him. But the things that are plain and out in the open, we can judge and we can make a decision whether it’s biblical or not or whether a person is saved or not based on their testimony upon what they say.

Yes. Brad Welling. I will be down to see you every third Sunday of the month. You keep up the good work. We love you in the Lord and we’re supportive of everything you say. And audience, please tune in and support by the line. He is in fact telling God’s truth. God bless you brother. Well thank you Betty and Beverly Hills. That third Sunday she’s referring to is a dinner day when everybody brings their best home cooked food. We have a wonderful time of fellowship after the worship service and you’re welcome to join us and be our guest on that third Sunday.

And we’ll have a great time of Food and Fellowship after the 1030 Morning Worship Service. We have Joe in St. Petersburg, and Joe, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Yeah, good morning Hank. Yes, I’m listening to you about a year and something that don’t quite agree with you, but I always research on why you say anything about it. Okay. I think you’re doing a good job. But it’s one you mentioned again, I heard you say once before that I made a call in.

It’s about a lie. You’re being taken up by the chair to fire. Yeah, but I’m looking at teams the second teams in the first verse It mentioned about the whirlwind in the 11th verse it mentioned charity file But I also mentioned in being taken up by a whirlwind. I just want to Think it would make correction on that one. Well, I think they’re both are true. You know, I think there’s a the whirlwind and the chair to fire all were one event and and And just if you read the complete story you just had to blend it and say it it is both were true almost uh…

you see uh… conflict with that i think sometimes you know we read part of the story in one verse and then the complete story given when you read the whole context okay well i guess i guess i want to react to me that is not that important is you know because you know like sometimes people can’t stand for them if they get five out three thousand which mean numbers that mean that much it’s for the event but that’s all i’ve mentioned that in a way well i appreciate joe and you keep studying your bible that’s wonderful okay thank you all right that was joe in st pete’s bring and uh…

uh… very definitely uh… on the numbers like if there’s a discrepancy in the old testament uh… that was easily done because the uh… heber letters represented numbers and sometimes if a dot or a portion of that letter Was it copied properly or was missing then the number could change and that is a there are some number of discrepancies and we feel that was because of copying problems over the years. We have Jack and Albany, New York calls in and leaves us off your question with us.

What did Christ do for the three days while he was dead? Did he go into hell or did he release the Old Testament Saints in hell? First of all, Christ never went to hell. Christ went to the heart of the earth and the place there is called Hades in the Greek H-A-D-E-S, not the same as hell, and it’s called Shio in the Hebrew, S-H-E-O-L, same place. This was the place of the departed dead, and if you read Luke 16 beginning in verse 19 to the end of the chapter, Christ pulls back the curtain on the unseen world and shows us this picture of what takes place in the heart of the earth.

And there you have two places, one place of torment where the lost would go and still go and will remain there until after the thousand year reign of Christ when they’ll all be taken out of there, assigned a degree of punishment according to their works and cast into hell. There is no one in hell as yet. The first ones into hell will be Satan and the false prophet and the antichrist. Satan’s angels and then everybody in the human race that died as an unbeliever will be brought up out of Hades and cast into hell.

But also Paradise was in the heart of the earth and that was where all the Old Testament saints went and when Christ told the dying thief today, those will be with me in Paradise, that was in the heart of the earth. When you connect that with Matthew 1240, Christ said He’d be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. So we know Paradise therefore had to be in the heart of the earth. Matthew 1240, he says he’d be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Then in Luke 23 43, he says to the dying thief, today now shall be with me in paradise. So Christ went into the heart of the earth where all the Old Testament believers saints were waiting for sin to finally be paid for. And on the third day he opened up Hades and released everybody in paradise to take them up to heaven. Ephesians 4, 8 through 10, describes how he took that group captive out of the heart of the earth and took them far beyond all the visible heavens to heaven itself.

So the Old Testament saints today are in heaven. They didn’t go to heaven until Christ died and paid for their sins. They had to wait. They had what I say is a layaway salvation. They was laid away for them, but they couldn’t actually take it home and enjoy it until their sins were actually paid for by Christ on the cross. The Apostles’ Creed, by the way, is wrong. Christ did not descend into hell. That’s why I don’t like to recite the Apostles’ Creed.

Christ descended into Hades, yes, into Paradise. But Christ didn’t pay for any sins after his death on the cross. On the cross, Jesus said, it is finished. He paid the complete and full payment for your said in mine on the cross. Then He went down into paradise and announced liberty to the believers and took them up to heaven. Jack in Albany, New York, I hope that helps. And I thank you for calling in. Well, we have Catherine in Yiddicki, New York and talks about in 1st Timothy 2, 8, talks about men lifting up holy hands, and she says, what about women?

Holy hands is really talking about hands that are clean, or that you don’t have any knife in your hand, you don’t have a weapon. When the Bible talked about holy hands, it meant that you came before the Lord with no agenda with no sins upon your hands and worshiping Him. And so women can do that too. But the act of lifting up your hand is not the point. It’s really basically talking about, and you know if you came up upon somebody who’s a stranger, you might relieve their fears.

If you came with your hands open, they didn’t see any weapon in your hand. You weren’t trying to rob them or steal from them or hurt them. And I think the holy hands mean you just have your hands open and they see that you have no weapon and there’s no no no agenda going on behind the scenes. I think that’s what it’s talking about in worship as well that we simply come to the Lord with clean hands. We have empty hands with nothing in our hands at all but we just simply come to worship Him and so many women both can do that.

But I don’t think it’s necessary the act of lifting up your hand. It’s really the thought behind that you’re coming to the Lord with a clean hand or a pure heart as you worship Him. We have a celso in Tampa, Florida on the line and welcome to my line. I just want to ask you what they do. He was crucified on the preparation day of the Passover. We believe that was Wednesday. That particular week that Christ was crucified on, the Passover occurred on Thursday.

The preparation was the previous day. And of course they count their night first. So actually Wednesday night at 6 p.m. began the Passover. Christ died Wednesday morning. He was put on the cross at 9 o’clock in the morning, died at 3 in the afternoon, was placed in the grave. Wednesday at 6 p.m. 72 hours later he came back from the dead that would be Saturday at sundown which is really the beginning of the first day of the week. Okay, so thank you so and thank you for calling in.

I have several articles written on that. You can download them off my website or you can go to the phone and call my operators and we’ll send you one of those if you like. We’re going now to Sharon in Tampa, Florida. and welcome to Bibleline your own here high pastor hank i just have a question about um… job and in the beginning of the chapter it says that the son of man and that um… satan first standing before god and accusing or were he was saying he was going to and pro to when he goes where have you come from he said to and fro to and fro and i was just wondering why who the other people were that was with him when he came before god okay well that first of all the scene is on the earth and it says sons of god which is believers every

person who becomes born again becomes a son of god or child god a daughter son of god and so the believers came together to worship and their state came to observe he still does it today uh… when we meet at church i think not necessarily say himself but his demons come to spy out what we do and they report back to the devil so he’s constantly observing us and and god uh… talks to satan and says uh… have you happened to notice uh…

how he’s such a wonderful christian it was got here bragging on job and of course satan said yeah i’ve noticed him but the reason why he is so faithful and loyalty is because you keep a hedge about him and won’t let me get at him but if you only let me you know up uh… take away what he possesses everything he’ll curse you and of course got a lot of them to do that and in all that job did not send or did he curse gone but these were believers it was on the earth it’s not a scene in heaven and uh…

he was just simply observing as he does uh… all our activities the bible says that there are angels out there satan’s angels as well as god’s angels that observe our activities Now, in the middle or towards the mid end, there were a couple of fellows that came and started talking to him about why he shouldn’t be feeling sorry for himself. And at the end, why did God rebuke them? Because it sounded, what I was readingParent, like they were trying to talk him into you know being more righteous or you know being happy for what he had and then it seemed like they got in trouble for trying to talk him into not feeling sorry for well they didn’t know the whole story and they were judging Joe but they said you know come on Joe confess up you obviously committed some secret sins here that caused thele of the cause the whole of the story and they were judging

Joe but they said you know come SECTION you know come on Joe confess up you obviously committed some secrets sins here that caused Flewicz they couldn’t judge, they didn’t know, and Job really hadn’t sinned, and it wasn’t about Job sinning, it was about this thing of allowing Satan to test him, and Job came out better for it, and he also came out getting twice what he had before, God replaced everything plus at the very end and blessed him. Okay, well you answered it.

Good, we’ve got to run, keep looking up, Jesus is coming, we’ll be back tomorrow morning, Lord Willy. You’ve been listening to Bibleline, a presentation of Bibleline Ministries of Tampa, Florida. All right. Thank you for tuning in today. I’m Dr. Englund from Mrs. Bible. I’m in, we enjoy being with you and answering your questions. I remember as a little boy asking questions, not getting any answers. And I was so frustrated. And I just really finally quit asking questions. You know, it’s so sad. I had one lady tell me that she asked her pastor a Bible question and he said submit it in writing and give me eight weeks. She said she didn’t have eight weeks.

She called Bible and got an answer that very day. Well, I was so glad that we could be a resource like that for you and I remember wishing when I was a brand new believer, well I wish I had somebody I could call, somebody I could ask a question of and get it answered. That’s really what has inspired this program is because we want to be able to do that for you to be able to give you an answer right now and point you to the Bible as the answer book because the Bible is the answer book and we just simply point out what the Bible has to say.

I want to thank all of you who listen for your faithfulness and loyalty to Bibleline. Thank you for your prayers and thank you for your gifts as we are totally listener supported. We really do need your monthly partnership in helping us. And if you haven’t given a gift yet this month, you can send a gift by mail or you can give it my credit card over the phone. And we’re really not trying to get your money. We want to get the gospel out.

And as we partner together, we can be the voice that speaks for you, giving out God’s Word. And you can be the means by which we’re able to get that voice out because we do have to pay the stations for the time on the air. Would you be a partner with Bible and would you consider sending a gift this month to Bible and we could use your help. If you just gave a dollar for every program you listened to, every listener would do that.

We’d be in great shape. But it only seems like there’s the few. But if you would be one of those who’d step up to help us this month, that would be greatly appreciated. God bless you and thank you in advance. Gotta run, keep looking up. Jesus is coming. Lord willing, we’ll be back tomorrow. Join us then.
