by the line ministries.org or not come either way, 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. We have about 40 different series that I’ve taught that are available on CD. One series exciting is Jesus is coming. And those are already available on CD and you’ll have of 10 hours of teaching on that wonderful topic, plus you’ll be able to get it on DVD if you prefer, and that’s not a whole lot more. And the DVD quality is excellent. And you’ll enjoy showing the series as though you were in the classroom.

Many people use them to facilitate a Bible study, a Sunday school class, and others use them in their cars as they go to and from work and use that time and make it valuable time to learn the word of God. We have a number of wonderful things in our Resource Center here. Let me just say that I recommend the Strong’s Concordance and we have that available here and we can chip it out to you. That’s better than a phone book but it has every word, every the thou and and but and shilt that it’s in the Bible and it will buy a number code system, give you the original Greek or Hebrew word depending whether it’s the Older New Testament.

And it’s a wonderful way to do some real study in your Bible. If you know one word in a verse, you can look up that one word and in the Strongness Incordance, quote, every verse in the Bible where that word occurs, a part of the verse. So you’ll be able to find a verse you’ve been looking for real quickly. And then it will give you by a number code system and you’ll have access to the scholarship of 200 Hebrew Greek scholars but you’ll be able to look up the actual Hebrew or Greek word and what it meant and how it is translated throughout the Bible.

Wonderful tool, we have that. We also have the Vines Expository Bible Dictionary which gives you more of the root meanings of the words that really helps you understand. Bible passages by going back to the original language. If you go to your regular English dictionary, you will not find that you will get necessarily the meaning that comes from the original words into our English Bible. But you don’t have to know any Hebrew Greek to figure this one out. It’s a wonderful tool.

We have that. And also we have the Schofield Bible. The Old Schofield is becoming more and more scarce. If you go to your bookstore, they generally don’t carry it. We have it in stock here, and that’s the only one. In fact, that we recommend as the Old Schofield Reference Bible, we have that available. And we have it in a soft, hardback, and leather, and large print. So you might want to call and talked to our operators about that. We have the two commentaries that I love so much.

The Jameson Fosse Brown, three-volume unabridged commentary, has a comment on every scripture. And so you really got it made with that. Plus we have the Jay Vernon McGee commentary, five volumes. It’s a wonderful set. Retail’s about 200. We have it for a gift of 100. And that has something on every chapter in the Bible. So Jay Vernon McGee will get you launched in the right direction and usually you can move forward from there with that. We’re going to turn to the Scriptures and I hope you’ll open your Bible.

But in Romans chapter 6 verse 23 where it says, For the wages of sin is death. That is the bad news. The wages of sin is death. The payment for sin is death. And what does that mean? Well it’s two fold. It’s physical death. By the way, the word death means separation. It doesn’t mean annihilation or the cessation of existence. It doesn’t mean you cease to exist anymore. Some people have wrongly concluded that. That is not what it’s saying at all.

And it is saying basically that physical death is the separation of your soul and spirit from your body. And then the Bible talks about a second death, which is the separation of your soul and spirit from God in hell forever and ever and ever and ever. That’s the one you want to avoid at all costs. And no one has to experience the second death because if you trust Christ as Savior, the Bible says those that believe on Him will not be hurt of the second death.

What a beautiful picture we have of that back in the Old Testament in Daniel chapter 3. We have Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego not willing to obey the commandment to fall down and worshiped this colossal image that Nebuchadnezzar had built. And so they were cast into the burning fiery furnace. And the king was looking and he said, didn’t we cast three into that burning fiery furnace? And they said, yes, O king. And he says, but I see four. One is like unto the Son of God.

Well, it was Jesus in the fire with them. And they came out of that fire, unscorched, unburnt, not even their hair was sinned. And you know how impossible it is if you get near any heat, even if you barbecue wow, you’re going to probably cinge some hair on your knuckles or hand possibly, but nothing. And basically the picture is that Christians don’t burn. Christians don’t go to hell. Christians are not going to experience the second death. are going to go to heaven and never be heard of the second death because Christ paid the penalty for sin in our place.

You know when Adam and Eve sinned, they sinned spiritually first and were spiritually separated from God. They were told in Genesis 2, 17, if they were to eat at the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, they would surely die. The penalty for sin has always been death and they died spiritually. The moment they took of that fruit and then later they died physically, both were a part of the penalty, spiritual death, and physical death. Jesus on the cross paid the full penalty for your sin and mine, and he died spiritually.

First, it says there in the scriptures that he cried out, my God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? And that is of course where Jesus the man was forsaken by God, as God turned his back on him. And that separation from God is called death. And that was spiritual separation. This Christ was separated from the God the Father, the man Jesus died and experienced spiritual separation. And then a little bit later, Jesus yields up or dismisses his soul and spirit from his body.

He had the power to do that. You and I do not have that power. But he dismisses his soul and spirit from his body and he dies physically. So Jesus in the same order as Adam experienced spiritual death and then physical death. Christ also experienced spiritual death and then physical death followed as a The Bible is not complete payment for your sin and mind. When a person puts their trust in Christ, they then are saved forever because the full payment for our sin was received by Christ’s death on the cross of Calvary.

So the wages of sin is according to Romans 623, not penance, not baptism, not church membership, not prayers, not fasting, not church attendance, not, and the list could go on and on. It’s none of those things. It’s only paid for by death. This is what’s so interesting to me. Penance, if you look up the definition, means a payment for sin. And many people are taught to do penance, some kind of work, some kind of thing that they might do or give up so that they might earn some kind of payment for their sin, or they might earn points toward heaven.

And the whole concept is wrong, totally wrong, because you can only pay for sin by death. Romans 6, 23, the wages of sin is death. It began that way back in Genesis 2017 when God told Adam and Eve if they were to eat of that tree and the knowledge of the good and evil, they would surely die. So death was the penalty. And guess what? People can do penance all their days that they live here on this earth and they’re still going to go to hell because the only way they’ll pay for their sin is by spiritual death, the second death to be cast into the eternal lake of fire.

That’s why Jesus died. delivered us from that. So I really feel so badly for all of those people who are taught wrong and taught that they can do penance, that they can do some kind of payment for sin here in this life when in reality the Bible says it’s impossible. Let me have you go to Romans chapter 4 with me for just a moment and look at verse 4 where it says in Romans 4-4. Now to him the worketh is the reward not reckoned of mercy or grace but of death.

In other words, if you’re attempting to work your way to heaven, in other words, if you buy your works or by penance, are trying to get rid of your sin, God says you’re not going to have God’s mercy, but you’re simply incurring a greater sin dead. You see, because your sins are not being paid for, penance won’t pay for sin. The wages of sin is death. It would mean hell if you paid for your sin. And so, as long as you’re doing works to pay for sin, The Bible says that you’re not going to have God’s mercy, but you’re only going to incur a greater debt.

But look at verse 5, what an incredible verse Romans 4, 5 says, but to Him that worketh not. To Him that worketh not, are you believing what you’re reading? But to Him that worketh not, but believeth or trusteth on Christ who justifies them godly. His faith in Christ is counted for righteousness. Isn’t that amazing? it tells us the simple plan of salvation. If you would only recognize that you can’t work your way to heaven, that penance and church membership and baptism and confirmation and prayers and walking the aisle and turning from sin will not save you.

But recognize that Christ is a Savior and believe or trust on Him that justifies people like you and me that are ungodly. It says here in Romans 4-5 that your faith in Christ is counted for righteousness. God will look at you and see you as righteous based upon the fact that Christ substituted himself in our place and that he had paid the full penalty for sin which is spiritual death and physical death so that we would not have to experience the second death, the eternal death.

Revelation 20 verse 14 says about the laws. They were cast into the everlasting like a fire. The Bible says this is the second death. In Revelation 3-5 it talks about believers and it says that, rather Revelation 2-10, it says those that are believers will not be hurt of the second death in Revelation 2-10. Isn’t that great? Basically you put in your margin, you’ll never go to hell. You’ll never go to hell. That’s what it means when it says that whosoever believer in him should not perish in John 3-16.

To perish would mean to pay for sin by death, but because Christ paid the death penalty for you on your behalf by his substitutionary death of the cross. You will not perish, but you will have present tense verb everlasting life. Think about John 3.16 for counsel of the world that you gave his only begotten son that’s Christ, that whosoever believeth in Christ that he made the full payment for your sin by his death in your place, that you would not perish because he perished in your place, you would have.

I certainly hope you’ve trusted Christ. It’s the most important decision you’ll ever make in your entire life. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. This is Bibleline. We’re looking forward to hearing from you today. This is Bibleline. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. We’re coming to you from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church. And if you ever come to Tampa, would you come by and say hi. We’d love to have you come by and knock on the door and get a chance to meet you.

And we do meet many on our worship services when you all come by to say hi. Hello again the phone numbers one eight hundred five seven six three seven seven one We have Tom in Fort Myers, Florida who leaves us off their question and he says did Jesus preach a different gospel? than the Apostle Paul and What is the gospel or kingdom gospel as compared to the gospel of the Apostle Paul when he calls it my gospel? No, Jesus preached the same gospel That is the Gospel of Salvation is the same.

Look at John 3 16, we just quoted it, For God’s the love of the world, that’s Jesus we’re quoting. That He gave His only begotten Son, that’s Jesus we’re talking about there. That whosoever believeth in Christ should not perish but have everlasting life. He tells us that we’re saved just by faith alone in Christ alone. Paul says the same thing as you read the gospel story at 1631 Paul says believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and Thou shalt be saved same as John 3 16 same gospel now the kingdom gospel was temporarily preached Offering Israel the kingdom basically it says that the kingdom of God was at hand or the kingdom of heaven was at hand That is the king was here on the earth and should he have been received by Israel as their king he would have established a thousand-year millennial kingdom 2000 years ago.

If that had happened, you and I would not have been born. The past 2000 years would not have occurred. The church age would have never have come to pass, but because God and his four-knowledge knew that he would be rejected, he had this wonderful plan of turning to us gentiles for the past 2000 years. But certainly Paul preached the same gospel as Peter and Peter as Christ. In fact, the gospel has always been the same for salvation from Genesis to Revelation.

Thank you, Tom, and Fort Myers-Forte for calling in with that question. We have now John in Richmond, Virginia, and John, welcome to Bibleline Year on the Year. Yes, Dr. Hank, how are you doing, sir? Good. I just wanted to ask you a question. I see some of the pastors take it Hebrews 13, verse 17. All right. And it seems as if they’re using it to control their congregation, the family, the watch of the soul, it’s almost like they’re standing in the middle man like Christ.

And I wanted you to do a thing on that path of the scripture to see if you can clarify it for me a little bit. Well, obviously, as Paul said, and I’ll quote this before I go there, but thank you, John, Paul said, be followers of me even as I also follow Christ. So you’re never obligated to follow leadership that would lead you contrary to the Bible or the Word of God. That’s made very clear in the Bible. And of course those in leadership are required to have sound doctrine.

And they’re required to protect the purity of the doctrine of the church, those that are in leadership, and keep the doctrine sound. And certainly that’s what it’s saying here in this chapter as well, that we are to follow those who I want to jump up to verse 7 of this chapter of Hebrews 1st. And it says, remember them which have the rule over you who have spoken unto you what the word of God. So notice the ones that you are to follow, the ones that you are to listen to are those those who have spoken unto you what?

Not fiction, not their personal opinions, not their doctrinal views, not their denominational statements, but you need to remember those which have the rule over you who have spoken unto you the Word of God, whose faith follow? And then it goes down to verse 17 that you’re asking the question about, obey them that have the rule over you and submit yourselves for they watch for your souls as they must give an account. So those in leadership will give an account before the living God one day, but we’re only to follow them as they preach unto us the word of God and are asking us to follow them even as they follow Christ.

So if you are under the leadership of some nutcase or somebody who is doctrinally unsound, not obligated at all to follow them. It says very clearly in verse 7 and I hope you’ll mark this verse. Remember them which have the rule over you who has spoken unto you and I have highly highlighted in my Bible. He says, who have spoken unto you the word of God. So that’s the key. So if your preacher is online with scripture, then follow him as he follows Christ.

But if your preacher is not doctrinally sound, then you are not to follow him. In fact, the opposite, it says were to come out from among them and be separate. And so John, up in Richmond, Virginia, thank you for that call. I hope that helped and we appreciate your listening up there in Richmond. John in St. Petersburg calls in and he says, when Jesus was on the cross, why did he say, my God instead of my Father? And the reason why I believe is because he is here facing God as a man and as a substitutionary payment for our sins.

And so he’s facing the living God as a sinner, although he was without sin. He became sin so that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. And so I think that’s why he does that. Alright if you’d like to call in the phone number here, Bibleline is 1-800-576-3771. We have all-faired Tim and Tabithor and he calls in and he says, please define apostasy. The end of the Schofield Bible. Schofield has a wonderful note on apostasy and I would recommend that you get the Schofield Bible if you don’t have it.

If you haven’t then go ahead and take a look at the note there. But basically it is a departure from sound doctrine. And boy, the church today, the body of Christ, or at least the visible church, many of which I think today are not saved at all, are departing away from the truths of the Word of God. In fact, it’s interesting that sometimes they don’t even really care what the Bible has to say. They will hold to their traditions and hold to their teachings even above the Bible.

It’s not amazing. And I’ll never forget it’sExcellent when it happened. One day I quoted John 3 16 to a gentleman and I simply said, for God’s the love of the world, that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. And he said to me, that’s your interpretation. That’s your interpretation. And I said to myself, What did I do? All I did was quote the verse. Well, what I did was I took my Bible, I handed it to him, and I said, well, would you please interpret it for me?

Because I said, what are you going to make this verse say? You can’t, it was so clear, obviously you didn’t like what it said. And so you said that was my interpretation and all I did was read it to you. But you interpret it, for God so loved the world. What does that mean? That He hated the world? That He gave His only begotten Son? What does that mean that whosoever anyone, what does that mean? Believe it, what does that mean?

Should not perish? What does that mean? Have everlasting life? What does that mean? I mean, if you break it down phrase by phrase, you can’t make it say anything you wanted to say. It wasn’t my interpretation. The verse was so clear, it just apparently hit you right between the eyes because I just quoted the verse. It wasn’t my interpretation. I said, I just quoted to you. I didn’t interpret anything. It’s amazing though. People have their preconceived ideas and I’ll never forget.

It’s almost like people are saying sometimes, get away from me with those facts. Those facts are confusing me. I know what I believe. You’re messing my head here because you’re coming at me with facts that disagree with what I already believe. Get away from me. One young lady told me, you’re confusing me. I said, no, I’m unconfusing you. You’ve been confused all your life and now you’re getting unconfused. You know that’s really true. The Bible is a book that will unconfuse us.

The author of confusion according to 1st Corinthians 14 is Satan and when you go to the scriptures you get unconfused as you get delivered from the power of Satan and are illuminated through God’s Word so that you know the truth and you don’t have to walk around in darkness anymore. We’re going to go now to Adam and Tampa and Adam welcome to Bibleline. Good to have you on the air. Yes, Pastor. My question is.

Do you have a letterman coming in his kingdom? Is that referring to the transfiguration? Yes it is. In fact, there were three of them there that got to see the Second Coming of Christ. And if you look at chapter 17 verse 1, it says, and after six days, Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother, and he was transfigured, and they saw him as he will be in the Second Coming. So just six days after he said that, three of the disciples that were standing there were still living that did not see death.

didn’t die before they got to see the Second Academy of Christ. So that’s exactly what it’s about. And I think verse 1 there, chapter 17 also has an interesting hint for us here. It says, after six days, that might be an allusion to the creative week in Genesis. And it’s really saying, as each of those days might represent a thousand years, that after six thousand years that Christ would come back and He would establish that seventh day, that seven thousand years call the day of the Lord and so I think it’s a quite a fascinating passage and so yes he allowed some right that we’re standing with him that we’re living.

Peter James and John to see the second coming. Sure. It might be a question about this term people uh… you know seven seven times seven whatever uh… but the question that i have it in um… first crintians talked about how if somebody calls themselves a brother but let’s you know listen to him uh… do not really do not even really eat with them uh… can you just kind of help me out with that absolutely and i think might have to do it after break because we’re coming right up on it.

Time goes so fast. We’ll be right back after this short break so stay tuned to Bible and we’ll come back and deal with Adam’s question when we get back. Don’t go away Bibleline will be back in a moment. To pledge your support for Bible line give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. Anglin from It’s great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast. We love and appreciate all of you who listen and hope you’re enjoying the program and we’re and we’re coming to you from Tampa, Florida from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church and I hope that you’ll enjoy the programs all week long.

You know, if you miss one or two, you can go to the Internet and catch them later in a different time whenever it’s convenient for you. We’re on the Internet 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and you can catch your favorite program and you can download them in the MP3 format. You can sign up for the webcasting, which podcasting rather, so that these programs will automatically download your computer so you can have them there and put them on your iPod and carry them around with you and listen throughout the week.

I hope you’ll do that. Take advantage and also our TV programs. If you have a video iPod, you’ll be able to watch our television programs, carry them with you on your video iPod and you can play them at your leisure. Again, we thank you for tuning in to Bible on. I want you to know know that we appreciate you and we would ask if you would pray for us. Would you pray for Bible and put us on your prayer list, pray for us regularly.

Many tell us that they pray for us every day and we sure do appreciate that very, very much. Also would you consider giving to Bible and we are supported solely and completely by our listeners. We have no other source of income and we have to pay the bills or we don’t go on the air. So it’s just a matter of economics and it’s a true partnership. And I believe that’s the way God would have it. If I had the resources, I’d do it without asking anybody, but that’s really not what God wants.

He wants us to partner together. And that way we can equally share in the rewards. And that’s what the Bible teaches. So as you give to a ministry that’s producing fruit, the Bible says that fruit would abound to your account. It says that Philippians 4 17, Paul talks to the Philippian believers about giving and he says, not that I desire a gift. I’m not trying to get your money. He says, but I desire a fruit that may abound to your account.

That verses forever change my whole concept of giving. Wow, when I give smartly where the Bible is being taught and people are getting saved and being challenged and going into Christian work and living for Christ and their lives are being dedicated to serving Him. I’m going to get that fruit on my account as I give to a ministry that produces that kind of fruit. So it’s a wise investment. We certainly hope that you’ll consider that. You can do it by credit card over the phone.

You can call in and ask our operators to send you an envelope or address on it and you can mail a gift to Bibleline. In any case, call our 800 number and talk to our operators about giving a gift to Bibleline this month. We’re ready to do Bibleline in the second half hour. Stay tuned right here and we’ll be right back.

Would you like to help Bibleline continue in your area? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-570- 767-377-1. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break and this is by the line in the second half hour and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios here at the Comfy Community Church. It’s Monday and we are looking forward to a great week and I hope you’ll join us as often as you can throughout the week and if you go to the internet you can catch us anytime or you can listen to the full program and the nice thing about the internet is you can back me up, you can pause me, you can fast forward me, you can go to the parts that you want to hear again and again and you’re welcome to do that.

That’s BibleLineMinistries.org.com and you can click on the TV sets the best way to go and you get a page that comes up that says on the left side click here for Bibleline television. On the right side click here for Bible and radio. We want you to know that tomorrow is Tuesday and tomorrow night we’ll have the last two hours of our class called Jesus is coming and this class 9 and 10 and those 10 hours will be available then on CD if you want to call and order the cent and you’ll find the quality is excellent you’re building this in your car or facilitate a Bible study our Sunday school class with that and you might really enjoy this wonderful series.

We believe Jesus is coming and we believe very soon. I have about 40 sets of teachings where I’ve done 10 to 12 hours on a particular topic, including the book of Revelation, the book of Daniel, the book of Zachariah and other exciting books, including the book of Romans, the book of Hebrews, the book of Jude and others. You might want to get a resource list by calling our 800 number and or you can go to the website BibleLineMinistries.org or .com and there you can look on our online bookstore and you’ll see all the different things that we have available.

We have an incredible book here called None of These Diseases written by medical doctor, several million copies sold. It actually shows how the Bible predates modern medicine by at least 3,000 years. Well, he teaches you how to live healthier. You know, that title comes right out of the Book of Exodus where God had promised to Israel if they would only follow the rules that he gave that they would have none of the diseases upon them that were upon the people in Egypt.

What a great book that is, and I love it, and we have that available, and we have the Strongs Concordance. What a great book that is. It’s bigger than a yellow pages of your phone book, but it has every the, every dowel, every end, every butt, every shelf in the whole Bible. Partially quotes every verse where a verse, where a word is found that you’re looking up, you’ll easily find a missing verse that you couldn’t find for a long time.

And it has a number code system so that you have access to the Hebrew and Greek scholarship of 200 Greek and Hebrew scholars and can look up the original word, what it meant in the the original and how it’s translated throughout the Bible and all for a few dollars. It’s not very much at all. I hope you would add that to your library. That is an essential of anybody who wants to get a little bit serious about studying the Bible.

We have a great book about the different modern translations. It covers about 20 of them and it’s called New Age Bible Versions. It will blow your socks off. You’ll be shocked at some of the translations that are out there that are popular that are really, really perverting the Word of God. You know we’re commanded in Revelation 22 not to add or take away and I’m afraid that these translators, many of them, are doing that. That’s the problem. Well in any case you might want to get that one to add to your library.

We have the Schofield Bible. What I’m excited about now is we got a brand new one in here. It’s really two Bibles in one. It’s Schofield, which is what I like. But on the left page it’s English. King James translation with Scofield’s notes on the right side it’s Spanish with the notes of Dr. Scofield in Spanish. That’s right. So it’s thick and it’s leather-bound. It’s beautiful and it’s really two Bibles in one. So on the left side you’ll read in English.

The King James Bible with Scofield’s notes in English. On the right side you’ll read the Bible in Spanish with the Scofield notes in Spanish. That is a jewel and we are excited about having that in our Resource Center. You might want to get one of those notes. If you just want the Spanish Scofield, we do have that also, but I love this where you get two Bibles in one and beautifully leather-bound and you can be looking on the left page and read it in English and on the right side, read it in Spanish and have the Scofield notes in there too as a real treat.

I hope you’ll get some of these things and get a resource sheet. You can call and ask for one to be mailed to you. You can also go on our website and take a look at the different things that we have available. We are of course thankful for all of you who give the Bible out if you haven’t given this month. We have a few days left and we could use your help to finish up February where we need to be.

So if you would like to give a gift before February is over this is a short month it’s going to end on Wednesday. I hope you’ll consider calling and just give a gift by credit card or call our operators and get a number of upset to you and send a check or gift to Bible and by mail. God bless you in advance. Thank you for praying for and giving the Bible and making this all possible. Well, we have Adam who asked the question before the break and I’m going to go answer that.

It’s over in 1 Corinthians 5 what he’s talking about. He’s talking about where we have to have discernment and not fellowship with people that are breaking the rules as a Christian. It says in verse 9, I write unto you in an epistle, not the company with foreignicators, yet not altogether with the foreignicators of this world, or with the cabbages or extortioners or with idolaters, for then must one needs to go out of the world. In other words, basically we can’t avoid people who commit sins, but if there is a believer that is openly sinning, we are not the fellowship with them.

It says, now I have written unto you, verse 11, not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a foreign cheater, or covetous, or an adulte, or a sailor, or drunkard, or extortioner, it says with such a one, no not to eat. So basically we ought to not hang with him. You know the Bible as bad, evil companions corrupt good manners. When we hang with the wrong people, they drag us down and certainly you shouldn’t hang with somebody who claims that they’re a Christian.

And that doesn’t mean you can’t talk to them on the phone. You can’t say hi to them on the street. But when we talk about fellowship, we’re talking about to be intimate and be close to those can’t be your close friends. If you want to be a strong Christian, you you have to back off and look for Christians that are going to lift you up, they’re going to strengthen you, encourage you. That’s the kind of people you need to hang with.

And if you just read the first song, there’s beautiful instructions there about not listing and having company with you and Godly and listing to their counsel because ultimately they drag you down rather than lifting you up. Thank you, Adam. And I hope that helps. We’re now going to go to Kyle in Sarasota, Florida. Welcome to Bibleline hey dr. Thanks good to hear from you. Hey, I got two questions In general do they believe that you can lose your salvation and number two To Mormons recognize a deity of Christ All right, and good questions and the Pentecostals almost 98 99% believe you can lose your salvation their doctrine is flawed across the board and and And unfortunately, that being the case means that they’re not saved.

If you believe you can lose it, you’re really trusting in how you’re going to live your life out till the last day you draw a breath on this earth to determine whether you make heaven or not. That makes salvation based on works and based upon you. And that makes you the Savior not Christ. And so that’s hard for them to see sometimes because they claim they trust in Christ. in reality, they’re saying that how they live their life ultimately determines their salvation which is really works.

And the Mormons, yeah they denied the deity Christ. The God of Mormonism is not the Christ of the Bible, nor the God of the Bible, and the Christ of Mormonism is a brother of Satan, did you know that? Yeah, according to Mormon theology, Elohim, a Spirit God, living on the planet Cola. That’s right, the planet Cola, they’re aliens. And he was spitting out spiritual children left and right by the tons. And they needed to provide bodies for them. So they had a little council with 12 of his sons.

Jesus, one of them, Lucifer was another one of them sitting there at 12 of them. And they drew straws and Jesus became the Adam God to come to earth and create bodies for these spirit beings. And of course, Lucifer got jealous and came down later, and you know what Mormon theology teaches? They don’t say it real loud today because it’s not politically correct, but they say that all of the black races came from Lucifer. That he came down because he was jealous of Jesus, the Adam God, and that he created all the black races.

everybody that’s black with their skin comes from Lucifer or Satan. Did you know that? Well that doesn’t make me happy and I’m sure it wouldn’t make you if you’re of the black race happy with the Mormons but that’s what they teach. They’re a little bit more quiet today about that but they believe all the black races came from Satan or Lucifer. That’s Mormonism for you. They are aliens. They are not Christian. They are not close to the Bible at all.

They claim their Latter-day Saints of Jesus Christ, but they are not even close to being Christian at all. Don’t be fooled by the Mormons. Thank you for that call down there in Sarasota, Florida. We have Elaine calling in from Houston, Texas. Elaine, welcome to Bibleline, and we’re glad to have you on the air. Yes, good morning. Thank you. You’re welcome. I have a question about, you know, in the Bible, we have always so many different contrasting stories, and what comes to mind physically is David and Joseph.

And we always touch teachings on both of those great men, but they both fell under similar temptations in one fell and one ran. How do we address that in teaching people about the difference with those two men? Because sometimes I’ve heard, even from Christian men, say, well, God used David and he fell, but God used him, so why couldn’t Joseph in front of my face and use him as an example? Well, that’s an interesting, sounds like somebody wants to twist the Bible, they wanted the way they wanted to go.

Joseph was an excellent type of Christ, and he became a deliverer to his brothers, the nation of Israel and infancy down in Egypt when the seven lean years came, he had already stockpiled her in the seven fat years, and he became a savior. and certainly was a uh… one who had high moral standards when he was invited by uh… potter for his wife to to have sex he uh… ran out of the house but she grabbed part of his garment and claimed that he had attempted a reaper and he went to prison for that but he was a he was a wonderful example of of of purity david does certainly was never committed for his then in fact god chasing for it and if you read psalm fifty one david said that He pretty much felt beat up by God after he had done that because

God definitely brought the consequences to him. And those consequences were carried down into his children and so on. There was a big mess there that all developed because of his sin. But Joseph didn’t have those kind of problems because he didn’t commit those sins. Basically, Galatians 5 I think says that if you want to have a life full of turmoil, just go ahead and live after the flesh, but if you want to have a life of peace and joy, then live after the Spirit and it says you’ll have the fruit of the Spirit, which is love and joy and peace and long suffering and gentleness and maintenance and so on.

But otherwise it says you’ll have revelings and drunkenness and murders and adult frees and all those things come by living after the flesh. the Bible says in Galatians 5, 16 which I believe is the key to the Christian life. Walk in the Spirit or in the direction of the Spirit of God leads us to walk as He is the author of scripture as we read the Bible and will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Obviously David got into trouble because he fulfilled the lust of the mis-flesh and he paid a price for it.

Joseph was a man who didn’t do that and you see the different consequences in his children and in his life after that and you see in david he suffered some serious consequences for sin but he’s still safe so i would say that that’s the answer i think you have to say in the work consequences and you can go back and and and see what those consequences were and david had a lot of misery as a result of his sin But even though that person will say to you, yeah, but God still uses him.

Well, it’s true. And God couldn’t even use a donkey, you know, to speak to man, you know. Right. He’s got in his grace and mercy and So God in his grace and mercy can use you, but not to the degree he could use you if you remain true and faithful. What do you think God used those different examples like that in the Bible? the difference between the fall of sin versus the state. Well, I think the Bible doesn’t hide the flaws in its heroes.

And I think if this book were written by men, it would probably screen all those things out and make us think that these people were absolutely walking without sin. And of course, that’s not true. But also, it tells us in 1 Corinthians, and I think this is a good answer here, it says that God has chosen, verse 27 of 1 Corinthians 1. foolish things of the world to confound the wise, God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty, and the base things of the world and things which are despised have God chosen, yea, and things which are not to bring to not things that are, and here’s the answer that no flesh should glory in his presence.

We really have to say it’s God who is the one who gives the increase, it’s God who gives the blessing and he doesn’t, he does it by using flawed creatures. We’re made of play the Bible says and we can develop cracks and we can fall apart. But the Bible says that he has entrusted his gospel in these earth and vessels and wants us to become dependent upon him. In Gideon’s battle, you know, when he broke the clay pots and they saw those torches, the enemy fled and he won the victory.

And basically, I think when we become broken and fall upon the Lord and dependence upon him and serve him faithfully, then our light shines. The light that Christ has given to be within us so that we can be a powerful influence to the world around us. And so we’re all sinners. And God has used many. The story of Amazing Grace was written by Ship Captain who apparently was running slaves from Africa and had a pretty notorious life. And then he met a young lady who was a Christian who he got saved.

And then as he reflected back on his new life, he became a pastor. He wrote the hymn, Amazing Grace, that Saved a wretch like me. And how so many have been able to identify with that song that God saved sinners. And we were lost and we’d become found. And it’s amazing grace that would forgive sinners who would sometimes commit terrible crimes and yet God is willing to forgive you because He loves you and He doesn’t know how to cross the pay for your sins.

Then they will figure maybe we’ll see clear how great the love of God is. Thank you very much. Thank you for calling from Houston, Texas and that’s exciting for us to hear from you. We now have Vinny in Hudson, Florida and Vinny, welcome to Bibleline. Good morning Dr. Lindstrom. Always a pleasure to talk to you. Thank you. A couple questions. I was reading in Jude and in verse 9. Yes, about Michael the Archangel From that verse can we assume that there’s only one?

Archangel and it’s Michael. Yep, and there are only three angels named by name in the Bible Michael the Archangel Gabriel the messenger angel Both God’s angels and Lucifer Satan the enemy of God, right and that’s it And this is only one Archangel right okay. That’s that’s good now in Revelation I believe it’s chapter five verse nine when it’s talking about the four beasts With the 24 elders. Yeah chapter four chapter four. I’m sorry Do we know are those cherubim and seraphim do we know I think they’re cherubs cherubs and It seems like that’s the description.

They are Apparently quite iced looking here, right? They they have of full of eyes before and behind. Can you imagine what it would be like if we had eyes in the back of our head, we could back up and not hit something? I understand. But it seems like they can sing according to the verse here. That’s the only ones that I’ve seen where it says they sung a new song. But I don’t see anywhere else where angels sing. I have yet to find that.

Well, I think you will. No. And one other thing, this is kind of interesting. I don’t know how far you follow politics. But. The person that threw his hat in the ring to become president, Mr. Mitt Romney, a professing Mormon. We’re living in the interesting time when… Could prophecy be coming about now because of all this, I wonder? Well, we just have to keep our eyes open. No doubt about it. It’s quite a switch for our country that’s come from a pure Christian base to this point where…

point where that’s that’s a potential anyway. Yeah, and we’ve had Muslims who take their oath on the Quran instead of the Bible that sits in Congress. You know, strange times we’re going to mean I believe we’re getting close like you said. I think we are too. It’s definitely going to be a world religion and all this is going to kind of combine together under one church under the false prophet during the tribulation period. We’re going to go up to richmond virginia again this time we’re going to talk to uh…

vernan and the world of the bible well good morning dr uh… let’s come i’d just like to say god bless uh… you in your ministry i think you have a very powerful ministry i had a question for you this morning uh… i’m doing a uh… bob study on roman’s and then in the book that i’m uh… you know using as a uh… resource uh… the statement made it and sin come through imitation not propagation and uh… i’d like to hear your opinion on that i don’t believe uh…

i don’t think it’s wrong correct statement i think it’s wrong because uh… uh… we adam sin and then sin passed upon the whole human race so chapter five verse twelve would refute that because uh… uh… send came through the man is passed down to every human being from adam and we have as the world’s been propagated we’ve been propagated as sinners and uh… it’s uh… not by imitation is by propagation so that whoever’s coming to her that is i think therefore big time right well i i was my feeling about i i’ve decided i would call you get your opinion on well thank you very much well you’re very welcome in this not really my opinion because it says here in verse twelve of chapter five where as or where Number four, as by one man sin entered into the world and death by sin, so death passed

upon all men for all have sinned. It has been passed on through Adam and the rest of the chapter says it quite clearly that by one man this was all brought about and that sin reigned and passed down through Adam to all of us. We now have a waiting for us is Scott in Tampa, Florida and Scott, welcome to Bible on your own ear. Yes, Dr. Lindstrom. I’m wondering if you could give me your opinion on the organization called the Gideon’s International Men Who Distribute Bibles.

I like the Gideon’s very much. I’m a little bit disappointed now that they’re publishing the New King James, which I think is flawed. but they’ve gotten Bibles in all the world, it seems, with their different branches and a lot of people got the same just by reading that Bible in a motel room or in a hospital room and I have sure appreciated that they’ve left a Bible there. Sometimes when I didn’t have mine and I was, had to stay in a hotel or I was in the hospital there, the Bible was there thanks to the Gideon’s.

God bless them. They basically, that’s their main mystery, is to get the Word of God out there and they provide them for service men and for children and they have lots of different branches but I like the Gideon’s. Very good. Thank you so much for your help. Alright, thank you Scott and I believe the Gideon’s are doing a wonderful, wonderful work. In Luke’s Florida calls in and he asked about Hebrews chapter 3 verse 12 and he says, please explain, does this mean that a believer can become an unbeliever?

No, it doesn’t mean that at all. It says, take heed brethren. That’s a believer. Let’s there be in any view an evil heart of unbelief into parting from the living God. Let’s talk about a believer getting away from serving the Lord, even as the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt and were redeemed to people, redeemed by the blood of the Passover Lamb, departed from the living God in unbelief, not believing that God could take them now into the Promised Land.

They obviously had seen him destroy the Egyptian army and deliver them from Egypt, but now had difficulty believing that he could take them. He is the only person in the promise land. Christians can become unbelievers in that sense, in that they don’t move forward in their faith as a believer and grow and take the challenges and trust God to get them through them. And that certainly is true for all of us. We need to be careful. Take heed that that doesn’t happen.

Well, thank you for listening today. We are coming up on the end of the program and we had calls from all around and we have many more that are trying to get up on the air. just can’t get them in today because of the hour. But if you haven’t trusted Christ, would you do it? Just whisper that prayer, just say, Lord, I’m a sinner. I don’t understand much, but I believe Jesus died for me and paid for my sin by his death and shed blood was buried in rose again from the dead.

I trust him right now to save me. And God will save you my friend the moment you trust him. That’s the wonderful promise of God’s word. Then make a second decision to serve him. That’s where the blessings come in. That’s where the joy and the rewards come in when you begin to serve. But we’re saved by faith alone and we don’t contribute anything to that but simply receive it. But after we’re saved, our works will bring about reward and blessing.

I hope that you have trusted Christ as your Savior.

I was raised in church, but in my church, I never heard how to be saved. Thank God I heard it because of my sister getting saved in a Bible study in our neighborhood. And as a teen, she got me out to a teen Bible study where I heard it and that changed my life dramatically. And I believe truly that nobody in my church was saved. Can you believe that? There are churches where the pastor is not saved, the music director is not saved, the choir is not saved, the congregation is not saved, you say you don’t mean that.

My friend, I was raised in a church like that and I think a lot of people are attending I mean churches and yet they don’t produce life. They are all… Like the Bible says in Matthew 23, dead men, spiritually dead, not able to impart life. The gospel is the means by giving life. And the Bible says in the last days of the church that they would not endure sound doctrine, but they would heap to themselves teachers having itching ears.

Read 2 Timothy chapter 4 verses 3 and 4. We’re in those days. No doubt about it. Got to run, keep looking up. Jesus is coming and Lord willing, if we’re still here, we’ll be here. We’ll be back on the air tomorrow. Join us then and tell your friends about the program and have a wonderful day. God bless you. Keep looking up. Jesus is coming.
