So that’s a few of the things that’s going on. We’d like to invite you to invite you to Calvary. We’re going to be talking about the scriptures and we were talking a little bit about Jonah yesterday and how Christparse mentioned that as Jonah was social, the son of man be Jonah died in the fifth. Jonah was raised from the dead. His soul went down into the heart of the earth into the place called shield in the Hebrew. Hades in the Greek where the departed dead went and you know when Christ died he went down there and that’s where paradise was Jesus told the dying thief Luke 23 43 today.

They’ll show up me with me in paradise At the same time he said in Matthew 12 40 he’d be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth So we know paradise wasn’t the heart of the earth But now since Christ emptied the place out and took these people up to heaven They are no longer in the heart of the earth but now they are in heaven itself. That’s why this side of the cross, when we die, the Bible promise is absent from the body, present with the Lord.

Isn’t that good news? So as a believer we are absent from the body, present with the Lord, and we can be assured of that. Christ was crucified on a Wednesday. He was placed in the grave Wednesday afternoon at 6 p.m. That began the Passover. And some have been confused about that. We started to mention that yesterday, a little bit about the objection to the Wednesday crucifixion, is found in Luke 24, 21, which says, the two men that were walking along the road to Emmaus and Christ joins them as they walk.

They said we trusted that it had beenypes which should have redeemed Israel. And beside all this, today is the third day since these things were done. This conversation takes place on Sunday, the day of the resurrection. The answer is found in the word sense, which we mentioned yesterday, counting from this verse, Sunday is the third day, Saturday is the second day, Friday is the first day, sense the Passover, and Christ was crucified on the Passover. So the fact that Christ is crucified on Wednesday is the correct day and not on Friday.

There is no good Friday. If you want my sheet that goes through the crucifixion week from Palm Sunday to Resurrection Sunday outlining the verses and events as they happened. You can get that. And also we have a sheet on why Christ was not crucified on Friday. As we mentioned before, there is no Ash Wednesday, there is no Lent. There might be Lent in your Bible, L.I. and T, but no L.E. and T, there’s no such thing. All of that is pagan, all went into Christianity.

And of course, we don’t even want to use the E word. As we approach this specialday that we celebrate the resurrection of Christ……………………………………………………….Saudi the R word and talk about the resurrection. The E word is of course Easter and that is the name of the mother of Baal. And certainly I don’t worship her. And so I don’t tell people I worship Easter or that I celebrate Easter. I celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. So I think all of us to try to eliminate the e-word from our vocabulary because it is the name of a pagan goddess and she was the mother of Baal.

And I have an article that I wrote, Easter is the mother of Baal, and why God was not happy when they used that particular term in describing the day that we celebrate the resurrection of Christ from the dead. By the way, that’s why there is those Easter bunnies and eggs and all that kind of stuff. It speaks of sex, fertility, rapid reproduction, and definitely it has nothing to do with Christianity. And somehow we have gotten sidetracked where we don’t focus, where we need to be focused.

We need to be focused on what Jesus Christ did for us at the cross of Calvary. A lot of folks out there are claiming to be Christians and yet are not because they are trusting in their works and sometimes suddenly they don’t even realize that they are. But if you believe you can lose your salvation, you’re really trusting in your works and therefore you’re not saved. Usually, when somebody says they can lose their salvation, I point out to them quickly that they are making themselves the Savior then because they’re really saying that how they live their life to its conclusion will determine whether they make heaven or not.

That makes them the Savior not Christ. For example, if I were to ask you, can you lose your salvation? And you said yes. Then I would say, well, let me understand, or let me see if I understand correctly what you believe. Are you saying that from a point that you start off at now? And then over here is the point when you die that if you live the Christian life successfully, you’ll go to heaven. That’s exactly right. That’s what they’ll usually say.

Then I say, well, what if I start off living for Christ? And then I backslide and I’m not living for Christ when I die. What will happen then? Oh, I’d go to hell. Then you’re really telling me that what you do between now and when you die determines your salvation, that your salvation is based on how you behave. It’s based upon your works that makes you the Savior, not Christ, and you’re not saved. But a lot of people don’t even realize that.

I was talking to a lady and her daughter was present, and we were talking about this whole issue, and she said to her mother, our pastor isn’t saved. The daughter knew that the pastor believed you could lose your salvation, and so she picked up rather quickly. He’s not saved, and I believe that. The pastor of the church I was raised in, believed you could lose your salvation. And he believed you could not know whether you made heaven or not until after you died.

And again, because you had to wait till you finished your life out, and then everything was waited in the balance, the salvation was basically by works. And yet in almost one breath, they would say you weren’t saved by works. And yet, kind of underneath, they said, yes, you are saved by your works because you can’t know until you die. You can’t know until after your life is over. If you’ve lived the Christian life successfully, you go to heaven. If you haven’t, you go to hell.

That’s works Now after we get saved, we ought to live for Christ and I’m an advocate of serving Christ every day of your life All of your life and that brings about rewards that brings about joy that brings about God’s approval one day when he’ll say well done not good and faithful servant But my friend our works have nothing to do with our salvation They have everything to do with the Christian life and rewards but nothing to do with whether we’re saved or not.

We’re saved on the basis of what Christ did for us, the work of God, that He completed at the cross. Well, this is Bible and we’re gonna go ahead and start taking your phone call. Hi, a lot of the criticism against the Virgin birth has problems with the word used for virgin in an old and new testament.

Could you expound on that, please? Sure. The word in the Old Testament for virgin is ALMA, ALMAH. And it can be translated to young women. In fact, it is translated that way in several places. But in every case as it choose them the Bible the young woman was a virgin one of those was of course the the the Sister of Moses that Watched over the basket there in the Nile. She was a young girl a young maiden, but yet she was a virgin The verse in Isaiah 7 14 says therefore the Lord himself should give you a sign behold a virgin shall conceive and and bear a son and shall call his name Emmanuel.

The word is that Hebrew word Alma. The interesting thing is that young women get pregnant and bear children every day. That’s not a sign. The sign is that a virgin would conceive and bear a son, and that was the miracle there. When the Holy Spirit takes that verse that’s quoted in Isaiah 7, 14 and quotes it in Matthew you when it talks there about how Joseph was concerned about Mary being pregnant and how the Holy Spirit told him that Mary was pregnant by child of the Holy Spirit and quotes the verse of Ephes 14, the word for virgin in the Greek means virgin.

And that is the word the Holy Spirit chose to define the Old Testament Hebrew word Alma. So there’s no question. And the New Testament basically is quite plain about the fact that there was a virgin birth. It says that Mary became pregnant in Matthew chapter 1. And Joseph was kind of very concerned because he was thinking about a divorce. He didn’t want to make her a public example to have her stoned. And it says that she was with child, according to verse 18 of Matthew 1, before they came together.

had sex, Mary was pregnant and she was found with child, the Bible says, of the Holy Spirit. So the Bible is very clear on this issue of the virgin birth. And I believe the first hint at the virgin birth is in Genesis 3.15 where it talks about the seed of the woman, which is a reference to a woman having a child without a man. Usually the seed is passed through the man here talks about a woman having seed without a man, it must be a reference to the virgin If I know that helps, the full line here on Bibleline is 1-800-576-3771.

All right, well thank you. We’ll send that literature right out to you. And that is about the E word versus the R word. We wanna tell people about Resurrection Sunday. And people say, well, what about the lilies? What about the candy? Well, we call it Resurrection candy. We call it Resurrection lilies. If a lady wears a special dress, it’s a Resurrection dress. And the Sunday that we celebrate Christ’s Resurrection, we call it Resurrection Sunday. So we don’t have a problem here at all.

It’s just a matter of changing the word focusing where the focus needs to be and that is on the death, the barrel, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ again from the dead. Yes, I was listening to a program this morning and it was talking about what you were talking about where it said about the parables, which I want to research on there.

We read up on that. I’ve been trying to read up on the Bible, but I’m like, you know, kind of behind trying to catch up right now as soon as I finished writing some goals and stuff that I want to do for the Lord. because he’s put the seed in my heart and like you said you know just have the feeling you know like the guy that called before you know that he does things for the Lord and I just wanted to you know ask about that.

I think I wrote down it was Corinthians but I don’t know I didn’t write down I didn’t have it. Why Christ book in parables? The perils were with the bride, they were without oil, and they asked, they had to go by it and they asked the other one. Okay, Matthew 25 is talking about the parable of the 10 virgins. It’s talking about after the rapture during the tribulation period, about those who are saved and lost at the event of the Second Coming that the lost are pictured by the foolish virgins and the wise virgins are pictured as saved.

And the end of the passage there, in verse 12, is clear when he talks here to the foolish virgins, he says, verily I say unto you, I know you not. Now in 2 Timothy 2 19, the Bible says very clearly that God knows those that are his. When he says I know you not, it means you’re and saved. And so these foolish versions are obviously those who have not received crisis or saved. You’re there lost. Yes. And they’re looking for like the works like you said they come on time like he was talking the one that I was listening to.

I forgot which one I wrote it down this morning that heissan I’m talking to interrupt you. But he said that it was that they would say didn’t I do these works and you’ve said that before. Right. And do all this, you know, but they’re because they’re relying on their work. And not trusting Christ as there only means of heaven. You’re right. And you got the same message. I mean, it’s wonderful. Every day I wish I could hear you every day.

I miss, I even missed a show on Tuesday night, 7 p.m. But I’m going to try to watch it. I’m definitely going to see it. I hope I don’t forget because I also forgot something on the news that I wanted to watch that was important. I missed that because I came home late. And that’s available. A wonderful series we finished up recently is a whole 10 hours of teaching on the book of Romans. That’s a wonderful study. It answers a lot of the difficult passages that commentaries seem to go over rather quickly. and you can get that series on the book of Romans. The series on the Rapture and on the book of Revelation and on the Holy Spirit on CD and the quality is excellent on those and people are saying they feel like they’re right there in the room with me live when they hear the CD on their CD players.

My question is in Genesis 4 versus 15 through 17 I guess is where my question lies. It appears as though there were other people here at that time. I guess it confuses me. Are these… Well the problem is what happens is that the murder took place when Cain and Abel were about 125 years of age.

By that time somebody did the calculations if there were multiple births which is what part of the curse was that they would have more than one baby to time which made the conception and delivery a difficult thing for the mother. And Cain and Abel apparently were twins. was one conception mentioned but two boys that were born, Cain and Abel. And so if you do the calculations you could probably have a population of about a hundred thousand people by the time the murder took place.

So definitely Cain was worried. He said everyone that finds me will slay me. And this was of course all these families that developed from those first children that were born from Adam and Eve. Okay. Okay. Thank you. Alright, you’re welcome. And a lot of people bring that question up, and that’s the answer. It was not two children playing in a sandbox out back in the backyard, but it was two adult men, about 125 years old, when the murder took place, when Cain killed Abel.

So you can read the context there and find that to be the case. And so therefore there were a lot of folks on the planet by the time the murder took place. We have not only air, but we have Ruth and Palm Harbor, and she is calling in, asking about the passion, and the baby, which appears to be about 40 or 50 years old in Satan’s arms, what does it represent? And I don’t have a clue. I don’t have a clue.

And maybe somebody might have an idea, and I’ve heard different ideas. I don’t know what Mel Gibson had in mind, but those were some of the strange things. The major part that Christ was tortured and crucified was accurate. A lot of these other things are kind of strange and I don’t understand them, but certainly that isn’t in the Bible. So that’s extra-biblical. I just chose to ignore it. I don’t know what nor he meant by that. So maybe sometime I’ll hear a commentary from Mel Gibson himself where he tells us what he had in mind.

The gospel message today has talked a lot about, but you know when you actually get down to define the gospel, the gospel oftentimes is not even given at all. Just because you use the word gospel doesn’t mean you’re giving the gospel, and oftentimes what is presented today as the gospel is not the gospel.

And unless you know what your Bible has to say, you may be deceived in thinking you are hearing the gospel. It’s amazing. But the wonderful message of the gospel is that Jesus paid it all. He paid our sin dead in full when you trust Him as your Savior, as your only hope of heaven, as the one who died and paid for your sin dead in full was buried and brows again from the dead, God saves you and you become saved eternally.

I find that most people have a blinder over their eyes and are thinking that there’s something they have to do to be saved and miss the whole concept of what is going on. Some people see the passion and they see the love of Christ being willing to give his life and they think that he has said an example that if we love as he loved that we’ll be saved. And again, you miss the point. It’s not what we do for God that saves us, it’s what God did for us and the person of Christ that saves us.

And it was Christ’s death that saved us. We’re not saved by living out his example. We’re not saved by following his instructions as to how to live the Christian life. We’re not saved by the ordinances that Christ left or gave of baptism in the Lord’s Supper. We are saved by the finished work of Jesus Christ that occurred on the cross. And when you trust in the finished work of Christ at Calvary, God saves you based upon what Christ did for you, not based upon what you do for Him.

There’s a tremendous difference. And a lot of people have never seen it. And I was raised in church, and I know what it’s like to be confused and misled and not understand what I have to do in order to be saved, which is nothing on my part, but it It was everything on God’s part, and I simply trust in the finished work of Christ, and God saves me. That is the good news of the gospel. And without Christ being your only hope of heaven, you will not make heaven.

It is that simple. If you’re trusting in Christ plus baptism, you’ll go to hell. If you’re trusting in Christ plus living the Christian life to go to heaven, you’ll go to hell. in Christ plus anything in reality. You’re not trusting Christ. Just like you’re not trusting the boat to hold you as long as you still have a foot or a hand on the dock. If you’ve ever stepped into a canoe or a small boat, you know, sometimes it might be a little frightening.

And so you want to keep a hand or a foot on the dock, but you really haven’t trusted that canoe or that boat to hold you until you’ve severed all ties with the dock and until you’ve severed all ties with with baptism, church membership, living the Christian life, and anything else that you might think you might have to do to be saved, and simply trust Christ. You are not saved according to the Bible, and that is what is so important to understand.

We’re coming up on the week of the death, the burial and the resurrection of Christ. We believe Christ was crucified on Wednesday. We believe he rose at sundown Saturday night, and by the way, Christ did not rise in the morning, and the sunrise service really doesn’t commemorate the actual time, at least, of the resurrection of Christ. Christ’s resurrection had to be at sundown because he was placed in the grave at sundown, and in Matthew 12.40 he said he’d be in the grave three days and three nights.

If you keep Christ in the grave till Sunday morning, you keep him in the grave three days and four nights. Think about it, three days and four nights. The Jewish people count their time from sundown to sundown, from sundown to sunup is the night period, from sundown till sundown again is the day period, and the two together constitute one day. Christ said He would be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth, Matthew 1240. If He goes into grave at sundown, He has to come out at sundown.

What happened Sunday morning was the discovery, the discovery of the empty tomb. But the tomb was already empty. Christ had been resurrected by twelve hours When they came Sunday morning To the tomb. Why did they come on Sunday morning? They came to finish the burial that had been so hurried. They came with spices and ointments. They didn’t come looking for a resurrection. They came looking for a dead body. They came looking for a body that they could anoint and finish the burial of.

But Christ had already been risen by twelve hours when they got there on Sunday morning. We’re living in an amazing time and it’s interesting the violence that we see in our world today. Jesus said it would be again as it was in the days of Noah. And if you read Genesis 6 and 11, what do we learn about the days of Noah?

We find that it was filled with violence. The earth was filled with violence. And we’re seeing that today, aren’t we? You know, those bombings that happened in Madrid, Spain happened exactly 911 days after 911. Do you think that was a coincidence? I don’t think so. 911 days after 911, the bombs blew up those trains in Madrid, Spain. What a tragic event. But you know, we’re living in a violent world and we’re seeing more and more that behind all of that is a hatred for Jews and Christians that is taught in the Quran and the fundamentalist Islamic’s obviously are taking that literal and they’re coming after us.

Apparently according to what I saw on the internet is that the al-Qaeda say they’re 90% ready to take the United States. I saw a program where they were sneaking into America from Mexico, and they left behind these little prayer carpets, where it was clearly an indication that these were Muslims who were sneaking in to take on America. What’s going to happen? Well, the Bible says, evil men will grow worse and worse deceiving and being deceived. And it would be again as it was in the days of Noah.

and we’re seeing that happen before our very eyes. I think my opinion is we’re getting close to the Rapture and we need to do all that we can for Christ while we have opportunity before we’re snatched out of here to meet the Lord in the air. Was that a tradition back then to have that many wives and concubines? Or did God allow it when did he multiple wives? Well God had forbidden that. He intended from the very beginning to every one man, one wife. And Solomon and these others just simply disobeyed God and they paid a price for it.

wives cause them to compromise their faith, which is one of the reasons why God told them not to do it in the beginning. But let me read to you a passage from way before David and way before Solomon back in Deuteronomy chapter 17. And here it tells the kings what they should do. And it says in verse 17, neither shall he multiply wives to himself that his heart not turn away, neither shall he multiply to himself gold and silver and so on and so on.

There’s lots of instructions for anybody who would serve as a king over Israel and they definitely broke God’s rules. So Deuteronomy 17 and 17, remember that, look it up, neither shall he multiply wives to himself. That was forbidden and they broke God’s rules, they paid a price for it. It was said to see Solomon compromise his belief system based because on the wives that he’d taken for himself hope that helps a little bit they just violated god’s word it was not not something they should have done they should not have done it they paid a price for violating that god discipline both david and solomon for their taking multiple wives and uh…

And hopefully that answered your question about David and Solomon. They were not to multiply wives to themselves, but they did. The verse was in Deuteronomy 17 17. My question is about the rapture. The rapture is according to God’s word, any twinkling of an eye. We don’t know who the eye or how long a twinkle is.

And my question is, as there is veils or deception in the things that Jesus had done and got it done in the past, there was always something that left us a tale of mystery, could the rapture go in the same way? In other words, if you and I, you stand in the same room and one of us gets raptured, it shoots through the ceiling. I mean the other one left behind can’t go. Just the coincidence, there has to be some means by which the confused or the lost will still remain lost.

And now I’m back to my question. My question is, could that twinkling of an eye period be over a period of time? No, I think it’s talking about a fraction of a second. I think it’s something about a fraction of a second. And yes, there will be a lie that will be believed about what has happened to those that have disappeared. And apparently, 2 Thessalonians, chapter 2, talks about a lie the Antichrist will give. And apparently, it will be believable, and a lot of people will buy into it.

But the truth of the matter is, is that Christ will simply snatch out a large number, I believe, of believers around the world at an instant of time, as quick as the twinkling of an eye, is that little time it takes for a light to reflect off of your eye, not the winking of an eye, but the twinkling of an eye. And I think it happens just absolutely suddenly and all of a sudden people are drawn. And they won’t know where you went unless they know what the Bible has to say.

And some people, I know that our Christians are leaving a tape recording, a letter, a videotape behind so that people who might come looking for them might find it and hear the gospel and maybe trust the Lord. There’s an idea for you, but I believe that there’ll be bewildered. I think That most of them will believe a little lie that the Antichrist tells and they’ll move on with their life But the rapture will be spectacular obviously for us who are believers We’re gonna meet the Lord in the air and get our new bodies on the way up.

The anti-Christ has been here probably for the last 25, 30 years. he’s already right here and and and and people want to know who the antichrist is goody folks searches who have sold out body-minded souls to the antichrist and they’ll know who he is tell them that’s quite a lot of dollars he knows who the antichrist is uh…

go at the the randy and paula white out there uh… the the church out there it without walls they know who he is he’s right there because it has sold out to him just like so many people are going to be deceived uh… about the pictures that are going to serve a lot of what we thought we were going to be you told us or we’re going to be out of here and you know what’s going to happen but uh…

just like the bible said when they say uh… low berry is in the desert or low heat here or low is there they’re going to deceive these be deceived in the believing that there’s been a change of plans and then they’re going to be deceived and they’re going to find out what’s going on. Well, you know, there’s a lot of deception, and the genuine believers are going to be caught up to meet the Lord in the air, and there are many who call themselves Christians who will be left behind because they’re really trusting in their works and in themselves to save themselves.

And the spirit of Antichrist is to deny that Christ is God who took on flesh and that He alone paid your sin debt and full. And so that is the spirit of Antichrist, which we see today, obviously, but there is a man who will be empowered and dwelt by Satan called the Antichrist that will live during the tribulation period. And we’re living close, and if we are living close, then he is alive and has been around. The spirit of Antichrist is Satan, of course, and he’s been around since before Adam and Eve.

It talks about the world powers that will be involved in the Battle of Armageddon. It talks about the Chinese coming into the Middle East for the Battle of Armageddon. And you know it’s interesting. It talks about the river Euphrates and how that it will dry up just before the Chinese bring their army into the Middle East.

What is interesting, the Bible says in Revelation 9 that the Chinese army will number 200 million. Did you know if you look up on your internet there, the CIA Factbook, F-A-C-T book, it’ll show China and it’ll say that China can field an army of 200 million, the very number, the book of Revelation mentions in Revelation 9 verse 16. Isn’t that amazing? Not 205, not 195. But the Bible says 200 million and that is exactly what the CIA fact book on the internet says concerning China.

Wow. Also, it says the river Euphrates will dry up. You know, in 1991, as the Euphrates River begins in Turkey, flows down through Syria, down to Iraq, out into the Persian Gulf. One of the mighty rivers of the earth mentioned early back in the book of Genesis. This river has flowed happily for thousands of years without interruption, but in 1991 the Turkish people did a project similar to the Azwan Project in Egypt and built a series of dams and they wanted to fill up the reservoirs behind those dams and they pushed a button and in a sense a concrete plug came down and plugged up the water flow and the river Euphrates was dried up for one month.

Isn’t that amazing that today it could be done? by man by the push of a button. Well, I’m not knowing, I’m not saying that it’ll happen exactly that way, but definitely. We are living in a time when the Euphrates River was shut off for one month and could be shut off again at will. And the Bible says when that river is shut off and dries up, that the way will be prepared for the Chinese to come into the Middle East.

The Bible says that they will have an army of 200 million. The exact number that the CIA Factbook says that they will have when they come back. We have Al calling in from Safety Harbor. He says, what is the timeframe between the Rapture and the Tribulation? There is no gap, I believe it happens immediately. When the Rapture happens, the Tribulation period begins. No gap, no timeframe, no interval. It starts immediately. I think First Thessalonians makes that clear. It talks about Christ coming back in chapter 4.

We, which are alive and remain, will be cut up together with Him in the air. This all happens like a thief in the night for those that are lost. And as soon as that takes place, then sudden destruction comes upon those that are lost, that are left here on the earth. And so it doesn’t appear that there’s anti-any time period or space or gap between the rapture and the tribulation period. Also it says, please expound on Ezekiel 37, 38.

I’m turning there now. Ezekiel 37, 38 says, well I’m sorry but there is no Ezekiel 37, 38. So we’ll have to have you call back now. Chapter 37 of Ezekiel only has 28 verses so there’s a problem with this question and we’ll try to wait for you to call back. There is no verse He is 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. He’s on the line here. him up on the air okay dale welcome to bible and good morning fair are you good yeah i’ve just got a question that uh… has i don’t i would want to be troubled me but i don’t understand is in the book of kenis’s yes sir chapter one verse twenty eight all right got said go forth and multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it and i’m often wonder why it would say replenish the earth The reason why is because I believe in verse one of Genesis, the earth was originally created, perfect and inhabited, plants, animals, dinosaurs, the whole nine yards, and that all of God’s angels lived on the earth and Lucifer lived as their ruler over all of God’s angels, and then millions and millions and millions and millions of years later, Satan who was

Lucifer decided to overthrow God and took a letter rebellion with a third of the angels leaving the earth to try to overthrow heaven. That God judged the earth and those angels and those of the fallen angels and Satan is now called Satan or the devil and no longer uses the term Lucifer. But the earth was judged and life was destroyed. And then rather recently I believe that in the seven days God recreated the earth for life and puts Adam and Eve on the earth and tells them to replenish, not punish, but replenish the earth because it ended life before, but all that life was extinguished in Genesis 1-2, and now we have life springing forth on the earth again in the re-creative week.

Okay. Yeah, that was just something that I’d always question. That would definitely be a plausible theory. Well, thank you. And we’ve got some tapes and things where we go through a lot of verses that seem to to confirm that from other parts of the Bible. Peter talks in 2 Peter about a former earth, a present earth, and a future earth. And the former earth was destroyed before the recreated week according to 2 Peter 3. And the earth that now is will continue until after Christ is ruled for a thousand years and brought peace on earth, Google, toward men.

Then this earth will be destroyed.
