We thank you for joining us here today, and we trust that you have your Bible handy.

As we hope that you’ve heard by now, Bibleline has undergone some format changes. As we continue Dr. Hank Lindstrom’s ministry of spreading the gospel across the world, Bibleline is now featuring a combination of teachings from Dr. Lindstrom, as well as answers to questions about the Bible. This format is one that Dr. Lindstrom had previously wanted to use in other ministry areas, so we feel comfortable that he would have approved of these changes. As we continue to refine Bible Lines’ format over the coming weeks and months, we ask for your prayers and your patience.

Please tell your friends and family about Bible Lines. If Bibleline isn’t being broadcast in their area, then please ask them to visit our website at BibleLineMinistries.org. As you listen to future Bibleline programs and detail teachings from the Word of God that will be featured, perhaps you could help lead someone to Christ through the lessons being taught. In the current teaching series, we have been covering a variety of topics related to the events leading up to and surrounding the resurrection of Jesus.

So far we’ve learned about the wages of sin, everlasting life, the triumphant entry, and Palm Sunday. This week we will cover topics such as the Passover, the crucifixion and burial of Jesus, and of course the resurrection of Jesus. If you’d like to hear Dr. Lindstrom’s entire series on the resurrection, please call our Resource Center at 1-800-576-3771. Now if you can, please open your Bible to the Book of Matthew chapter 26 and join us for Dr. Lynchton’s teaching for today.

Matthew chapter 26. Now we are ready to see Christ go to the cross and it says in verse 2 of chapter 26, you know that after two days is the feast of the Passover and the Son of Man is betrayed to be crucified. This was the crucifixion week and it was the week of the Passover. Christ died as the Passover lamb, the fulfillment of it. And when you apply his blood by faith as the means of your salvation, God passes over you in judgment, but those who do not apply the blood of Christ will be cast into hell.

So here we have the Jewish leadership planning and plotting the crucifixion of Christ. They consulted verse 4 that they might take Jesus by subtlety and kill him. And they came up with a plan how they would subtly take him. And Judas played into that plan and said, hey, I’ll sell him out, give me 30 pieces of silver and I’ll identify him for you. So we find here then in verse 6 through 13 we have Mary anointing the body of Jesus in advance of his death, which is a picture of that.

And then in verse 14 through 16 we have Judas coming along. He went to the chief and they coveted with him for 30 pieces of silver. That was the price of a slave. And so Jesus went for a price of a slave. In the Old Testament, a slave was sold for 30 pieces of silver. And Judas betrayed Christ for the price of a slave. And from that time, he sought opportunity to betray him. So here he took his money and ran and sought to betray Christ.

Then we find the disciples come together for the Passover and at the Passover meal, Jesus identifies the one that would betray Him. He says here in verse 21, as they did eat, He said, verily I see unto you that one of you shall betray Me. And they were exceedingly sorrowful and began everyone unto say, Lord is it I? Who’s going to betray you? And He said the same one, the dip of this hand with me in the dish, the same is the one that shall betray me.

And of course it turned out to be Judas. And Judas left and then Christ institutes the Lord’s Supper as Judas was not a believer. And then of course the Lord’s Supper was a commemoration of his death that he instituted for us as believers to observe. The bread representing his body broken for us is the Jews representing his blood shed for us and that were to do this until he returns. verse 30 says, after they had done that they sang a hymn and then they went out to the garden of Gethsemane which was at the base of the Mount of Olives.

And there we find that Jesus again reminds them that he’s going to be smitten, that his flock, the disciples would be scattered and that was a prophecy in how that Peter would betray him and there Peter we see in verse 31 through 35, Peter denying Christ three times that he even knew the Lord. Then we have Jesus agonizing in the garden, and he prays that if it be God’s will that the cup might pass from him, the cup of God’s wrath that would come upon him because he would be made sin for us.

And after he prayed three times the disciples couldn’t stay awake during any of that time to pray. And so they did fall into temptation and wound up not standing with him but fleeing and forsaking him and Peter denying that he even knows him. And then the agony in the garden is he prays about the cross and what would take place. Verse 47, while he at spake, lo Judas, one of the twelve, came with him a great multitude with swords and staves and with the chief priests and the elders of the people.

So here they come with a small army to take Christ, an unarmed man. And they bring an army basically to get him. Judas goes over and kisses him, betrays him. And then they took him and Peter, verse 51, trying to be helpful at this point, draws a sword and cuts off the ear of the high priest, servant, in verse 51. What is interesting here is that Peter, being a fisherman and not a swordsman, didn’t know how to use his sword very well because he was aiming for the guy’s neck.

He missed and got his ear. So I guess that servant could be thankful that Peter didn’t know how to wield his sword very well. I’m sure Peter was ready to take the guys neck off and Missed and caught his ear the guy ducks and the ear comes off Jesus picks up the ear and puts it back on He says in verse 53 thinkest thou not that I cannot now pray unto my father And he’ll presently give me more than 12 legions of angels a legion in the Roman army was 2,000 soldiers So 12 legions would be 24,000 angels now just one angel in second Kings chapter 19 Kills a hundred and eighty five thousand Assyrians that came against Israel One angel.

So if one angel can kill 185,000 men with no trouble, what do you think 24,000 angels could do? I’m sure he could have called more than that. But Christ is saying, look, I don’t need your help. And if he didn’t want to be crucified, nobody in the world could have taken him, no army, no soldiers, nobody could have taken Christ. Later he says, I have the power to lay my life down, I have the power to take it up again, nobody can take my life.

Quite a remarkable statement. And so here he lets them take him away. All the disciples what? For Succim and they fled. So they didn’t pray as they should have in the garden. They fell in the temptation to forsake Christ and they did. They should have stayed awake, as Christ has said. He said, stay awake with him. Pray that you fall on an temptation. And so when the challenge came, they ran with their tails between their legs. So the importance for us today also is to pray so that we don’t run, but we stand and face the challenge that God will bring to us whatever it might be.

And sometimes we might feel like running. We might feel like giving up. We might feel like quitting. But the Lord says, don’t succumb to that temptation. And His disciples all fail to pray and therefore were weak spiritually. And when they saw the soldiers, when they saw they took Christ, they all forsook Christ and fled. That said, that here are those that were his most loyal partners and they left him. They forsook him. They forsook him. And basically they all forsook him.

And Christ was left alone at the cross. Then they took him to the high priest and of course the high priest interrogates him. We find in verse 65 the high priest hears what Christ says and He says, this man spoke, last for me. What further need have we have witnesses? Behold, now you’ve heard this blast for me. And they said, what thing he in answer said, he’s guilty of death. So here they said that we need to kill him.

And notice what they did. They spit in his face. They buffeted him. They hit him with their fist. They apparently blindfolded him. And they spoke him with the palms of their hands. They said, prophesy. If you’re the Christ, tell us who it is that’s hitting you. Was it John? Was it Jack? Was it Sam? Who hit you just now? He’s blindfolded and they were pounding his face and apparently they beat his face up so bad that Isaiah says he didn’t look like a human.

You know if you ever seen a boxing match where they go these long heavy weight bouts, those guys hardly look human when they’re done. Their faces are all puffed and distorted, their eyes are nearly closed and then there’s cuts and there’s bleeding around the eyes and they don’t look like the same person that went into the ring. Jesus I think was beaten up that way with the fifth denying the Lord in verse 69 through 75. And in the chapter 27 we have here in the morning they brought him before Pilate.

Pilate really didn’t care whether he committed blasphemy. And so they accused him before Pilate that he was a king. And so Pilate sentenced him based upon the charge of treason. We find here that Pilate though really wanted to let Jesus go free because he knew he was innocent. And so Pilate said, look, I’m going to release somebody to you. And he had an openly condemned nasty criminal murderer named Barabbas. And so he says, what shall I do then with Jesus, which is called the Christ?

I want to release one to you today. And they said, release Barabbas. He says, which of these two should I release? They said in verse 21, Barabbas. And then he said, what shall I do with Jesus? He said, crucified. And so here Christ was taken then to the cross. Verse 26, He released Barabbas, and then He scourged Jesus and delivered Him to be crucified. Then of course, the soldiers played games with Him. Verse 28, they stripped Him, put Him in a scarlet robe, mocking Him as a king, putting a crown of thorns upon His head.

They bowed the knee before Him, and they mocked Him. And He said, hey, O King of the Jews, they were all just having fun with Him. Then after the scourging, they took the robe off later in verse 31. You can imagine as the blood had clotted from the wounds in his back from the scourging, when they ripped that robe off how all that bleeding began again in his back and what an awful experience this must have been. Thanks for joining us today.

Now, please join us for a segment featuring Dr. Lynchland answering questions from previous callers. We now have Henry in Richmond, Virginia.

Henry, welcome to Bibleline. Yes, good morning, Dr. Hank. I really don’t have a part of a comment. Every year we go to when Jesus died and when he went to this town, when he risen. You know, does it really matter when he rose along as he rose? And I just want to thank God for that day that he’s heroes. So some said that he died, it was buried off, breast, and clothes on the sand. But to me, Dr. Hancus, I’m just so thankful that he rose.

That’s all I wanted to say. Thank you. Amen. Well, obviously, to be saved, I don’t think it really makes a lot of difference at all. But technically, you know, God carried out the death-grown resurrection of Christ exactly as He had planned it. You know, the death of Christ was planned before the foundation of the world. And the Old Testament prophets told exactly when it would happen. The Christ would die as the Passover Lamb. He would die when Israel was offering up her Lamb.

And we find that the Passover that week was on Thursday. So if he was crucified on Friday, he would have violated the scripture because Passover was over. He died as the Passover Lamb, so therefore he died to be crucified in advance. And the Passover was the day that they would eat of that lamb and participate in the fruits of it. And so Christ died exactly when he should have. And also God had predicted when he would rise three days later.

And obviously Jesus makes it pretty plain there that it would be three days and three nights after he died that he would be risen again from the dead. So technically… It does make a difference because God is a God of order and everything is very precise. But as far as your salvation, if you believe Christ died and was buried and rose again from the dead, you may not know much more, but that’s the message that saves you. So the answer is yes, you’re saved whether you understand exactly when or the details about it or not.

but the Bible is pretty specific so we can actually take a look at it. The point I make when I do that is to point out we need to all look at our Bible carefully and afresh. I hear so many people present a plan of salvation which is not biblical and yet so many preachers do it you would think it is biblical. For example, I hear people all the time, so and so gave his life to Christ and therefore he saved.

Well, if he saved, he isn’t saved because he gave his life to Christ because we’re not saved by giving God anything. That changes the plan of salvation around in a 180-degree direction because God is the giver and we’re the receivers. And if you say you have to give your life to Christ to be saved, then you have made yourself the giver and God is the receiver. The Bible says for God’s love the world, He gave His Son. So God gave Christ to die for us and we receive it by trusting or believing on Christ’s Savior.

So it’s real important when you get down to the actual plan of salvation and people might give their life or their heart to Christ, but that doesn’t save them. You have to trust that Christ gave His life and died on the cross of Calvary to pay for your sin or you will not be saved. Thank you, Henry, for that point. We have Kathy in parish, Florida. She calls in and leaves this off her question. She says, I heard you say that Jesus made a bona fide offer to the Jews for the kingdom.

If Jesus had not been rejected and therefore crucified, how would sin have been paid for? Well, it would not have been paid for. And obviously God in his foreknowledge knew what was going to take place. So we’re just speculating here, but we do know that he did offer to them. They turned it down. They rejected him. He went to the cross and obviously God knew what was going to take place. And that’s why he planned it the way he did.

And he’s now turned to us Gentiles during this past 2000 years, but had Christ been received, this past 2000 years would not have occurred. We would never have been born. History would have been totally different. Thank you, Kathy. But God Ford knew that man would fall and also that the Jews would reject Christ as their Savior, the first go round. We are now going to go to Clearwater. We have Olesa. I believe it is. I’m not sure if I’m pronouncing that right, but Olesa, welcome to my blind.

You’re on the air. Olesa, how do I say it? Okay. Welcome. want to know from you. This is Dr. Wright. Yes, ma’am. I want to know why that you go to church all the time and all the church they tell me that I’m supposed to go to a church where the preachers preach them out of the Bible. Those men we go, but we don’t hear that. And all of them tell you different things, you know, like they don’t tell you the right that’s what I’m trying to say.

Like when Clark raised from the dead, all of it, I go to take the same thing that he rolls on a Sunday morning. I don’t understand that. Well, it tells me that the preachers are not studying their Bibles. And you know, I’ve talked to many who have graduated from seminary and they don’t really, they’re not really talk the Bible when they go to seminary. They’re taught everything else, the tools, but never how to really interpret the Bible. So they really are in the dark and in all these schools raise questions about the Bible and leave them in a state of almost unbelief.

And it’s too bad. It’s a part of the end times where Satan’s masterpiece is not the drunken nagutter, but it’s a preacher who can mislead people because he’s been misled by the school where he was train. We’re going to go to D in Richmond, Virginia and D. Welcome to my mind. You are on there. Hi, Dr. Hank. How you doing? Good. I’d like to add to your Friday crucifixion deal. Not only was it three stabs in a row, you know, they pass over and piece of 111 red.

But people that say it was a Friday crucifixion think that the mass supple was on pass over day, which when you look at the word the bread they use is two different words for bread. Strong’s Concordance, the loaf of bread as artos, A-R-T-O-S, and unleavened bread is A-Z-U-M-O-S, strong’s 106. And whenever they use the 106 word unleavened, as always placed in front of that to verify unleavened bread. And each time the Lord Suppa is mentioned that loaf of artos is always used.

And it’s no way they could have eaten low bread at the Passover dinner because Leaven had to be out to house completely. So that was another reason to verify, couldn’t have been a Friday crucifixion. Could have been before Passover. It just doesn’t make any sense. And most people can figure that out very early. I was a young child and I said, how early did you get three days and three nights between Friday and Sunday? and then never did set well with me.

And of course after I got saved and took a closer look, you realize it certainly could not have been Friday. And the mistake came from that verse we just read a moment ago in John 1931 because it reed the Sabbath day and he was crucified on the preparation of the Sabbath. And so they normally assume that Saturday and therefore he’s crucified on Friday. But they failed to read carefully. carefully it says that sabbath was a high holy day of israel so it was the passover sabbath that is talking about and that was on thursday and the preparation day was wednesday exactly and they said it was that they couldn’t leave them on the cross on a sabbath sabbath day that’s right and the uh…

uh… passover was a sabbath day the feast of unleavened bread on the fifteenth was out which would have been Friday was also a Sabbath day. And then Saturday was the regular Saturday was a weekly Sabbath. So it was three Sabbath days in a row. So it had to be on a Wednesday. There you go. But anyway, I just wanted to add that. Thank you, D. And also Matthew 21 says, when the Sabbath’s plural ended, then came the first day of the week and the women came.

And they came to finish the burial. Now we have Gino in Tampa, Florida. Gino, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Okay, I have two questions about Moses. First question is, is his adopted, if you want to call a mother, that pulled him out of the river, did she get saved at the end and wind up going with him through the sea? And also why did his brother and sisters get upset with him for marrying his wife as he was vanished out of need?

why did they get up there from Mary and a woman in Mary and I hang up on this and say, Okay. Well anyway, I don’t know that the Pharaohs, the princess there, who adopted Moses, ever got saved or not, and would like to think that she would have. But I don’t know the answer to that. And of course, we have a brother and a sister to Moses that was Miriam and and also the brother that became the one who made the golden calf when Moses went up into the mountain.

Aaron was the brother Moses. And they had some disagreements there obviously and Aaron obviously aired in making that golden calf and I’m not too sure exactly why. To pledge your support for Bibleline, give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, this is Bibleline, Dr. Hank Lindstrom. We’re going to get into the Bible for a few minutes. You know, as a Christian, what are you doing with your life? Often times I’ll hear preachers say that we are to glorify the Lord, and they might ask you, how are you going to glorify God?

Well, guess what? There’s really one purpose that we have here in which we really glorify the Lord. In John’s Gospel, chapter 15, it says in verse 15, say, herein is my Father glorified. Herein is my Father glorified that you bear much fruit. Now I believe the fruit of the Christian is to reproduce ourselves. That is, we’re to win somebody else to Christ. This is not the same as the fruit of the Spirit. And the fruit of the Spirit, of course, is the fruit that the Spirit bears when we yield our lives to him and allow him to work in our life, then the fruit of the Spirit is love and joys and peace and long suffering and gentleness and meekness and so on.

But the fruit of the believer is really another believer. The Bible teaches right from Genesis and everything reproduces after its own kind. And if you were an apple tree, you would expect that you’d have little apples. If you were an or industry, you’d have little oranges. If you’re a corn stock, you would expect you’d have kernels of corn. And if you’re a believer, you would expect that you’d have baby believers as the fruit of your life, your journey through this world.

Well, that’s what it’s saying. chapter 15 verse 8, here in is my Father glorified that you bear much fruit. Yes, it’s true that our purpose on this earth is to glorify God, but most people don’t have a clue as to how they can glorify the Lord. Well, the Bible tells us here, and these are the words of Jesus himself, and he says, here in is my Father glorified that you bear much fruit. And then he says, so shall you be my disciples.

You know, we’re saved by grace, not by works. We’re saved by God’s unmerited favor, His mercy toward everyone that would simply trust in the finished work of Christ at the cross of Calvary. But then after we are saved, we have a second choice to make and has to be a disciple. And guess what? Again, a lot of people that claim that they’re disciples really aren’t because it says in John 15 8, here in this my Father glorified that you bear much fruit.

Get ready now. It says, so shall ye be my disciples. If you’re not bearing fruit, then you’re not a disciple. You see, the whole purpose of the discipleship program of Christ is to win souls. Jesus said in Matthew 4, 19, follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. He didn’t say, follow me, and I’ll make you a great singer in my choir in the sky. He didn’t say, follow me, and I’ll make you a great usher in my congregation in the sky.

didn’t say follow me and I’ll and the list could go on and on as to different things that people do. But he said follow me and I will make you a fisher of men. The end result of our Christian life is such that we should be touching other lives with the testimony of the gospel of Christ and people should become saved. It begins with our family. What What about our children? Are they saved? What about our grandchildren? Are they saved?

What about our moms and our dads? Are they saved? What about our aunts and uncles and nephews and nieces? Are they saved? You know, when I first got saved at 18, my target was my brother and my other sister, my one sister, brought me to the Bible study where I got saved. And then us children targeted mom and dad, and we got them saved, and then our whole family worked together as a team, and we targeted all of our other relatives, aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins, and nieces, and anybody that was breathing that was a relative we tried.

I remember my dad, he got saved, and then oftentimes on a Sunday afternoon when we had nothing to do, he would say to me, son? Get into car. Let’s go over and check out Granddad. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom and this is Bibleline. Would you like to help Bibleline continue in your area? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. We hope that you are learning with us as we listen to questions from previous Bible… Bibleline callers and answers from Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Have you been able to join us for Dr. Lindstrom’s teaching series on the Resurrection of Jesus? This series covers a variety of topics related to the events leading up to and surrounding the Resurrection of Jesus and includes topics such as the wages of sin, everlasting life, the triumphant entry, Palm Sunday, the Passover, the crucifixion and burial of Jesus, and of Of course, the resurrection of Jesus.

After the conclusion of this teaching series, we will begin a new series on the Book of Daniel. Now please join us as we return to our question and answer segment and then hear more Bible teaching from Dr. Hank Lindstrom. We have now Mary in Spring Hill, Florida, and Mary, welcome to the Bible on your own ear.

Yes, Dr. Lindstrom. Does the Federal Reserve, our government, giving more control of our financial markets over to the Federal Reserve? Well, it gives them absolute police powers. They can go in and regulate any company and examine their books and tell them how to do business. My moral government is… My moral government… The Federal Reserve is not… It’s a private company. much run by major bankers in other countries, it’s not even us. And so I think this is scary and we’re definitely seeing in time events taking place here where obviously we’re going to come under control of those who can control everything we do.

Yeah, and most people don’t even realize that they’re not a federal agency. No, they’re not. The Federal Reserve is a private organization and most of those people that are in it are not even in this country. So here we’re giving America away and giving them absolute police powers over our marketplace. Amazing. I really appreciate your ministry. Well thank you Mary and keep listening. We’re just watching things unfold at the Bible said so many thousands of years ago and it’s kind of a thrilling moment to be living and of course if you don’t know the Lord this would be frightening I I think to see the things that are coming on this earth and it says in Luke 21 that men’s hearts will fail him for fear for looking after those things which are coming on the earth and boy I tell you if I didn’t know the

Lord I think I would really be very very distraught at this point. Yes and even even knowing it’s going to how it’s going to end it still is depressing. Well absolutely it is really is because I love America and I hate to see what’s happening in America happen and and we’ve really departed away from God and look at the results and the headlines every day. If you wonder why we have problems in our schools and with our youth and with crime, it’s because we got rid of God in the Bible and we’re paying a price for that.

Exactly. Well, thank you. You’re welcome, Mary, and God bless you. Keep listening up there in Spring Hill. I will. All right. We have Claude in Toronto, Canada. Claude, welcome to the Bible and you’re on the air. I have a good morning, actually. OK, I have two questions for you. The first one is about the Catholic Church. What do you think about the people who belong to the Catholic Church? Are they saved? Well people in the Catholic Church are saved if they trust Christ alone as the only means of their salvation, but that’s not what the Catholic Church teaches them.

The Catholic Church teaches that the Church is the Savior, and by keeping the seven sacraments that the Church offers that you can earn your way to heaven. So it’s really a false plan of salvation. And if they believe what the church teaches them, they will not be saved. But there are many within the Catholic Church that in spite of everything have simply trusted Christ, I believe in will go to heaven. But I would say if you’re a believer that you would need to come out of that church and find the church that teaches God’s Word.

So what about the churches? I was, I was I truly sometimes before I was bought as a civil agent, but I’m no longer that believer. But they believe that like the 10 nations that you’re talking about are separated from Rome and the churches during the referendum. Absolutely, we see this merger that’s happening right now. were uh… i think very close to the law return we’re gonna go down to uh… jack and lake worth and jack uh… welcome up to my mind you’re on the air i think you were taken like call i have a little bit of a when i was at the two uh…

doctor is when you said that when is a pagan practice well does that make as a practicing catholic is that make a problem to them pagan well they have a number of pagan practices that they’ve introduced into their worship yes that uh… but not not entirely but that is one thing that ought to be dropped uh… because uh… it has no uh… relationship to christ it has or all around long before christ how do we know president come from kapala system if i got kapala system comes from juda and what would kind of brought us me is with the idea of all the major patients to get along and when you make a statement like this, it kind of makes me sad.

Well, you know, sometimes we don’t like to have the our traditions come under scrutiny, but you know, Matthew chapter 15, Jesus said to the Jewish people of his time, he said, you’ve made the word of God of not effect by your tradition. Sometimes tradition absolutely is contradictory to the Bible and should be exposed as such. You’ve gotten rid of them. That’s a pagan practice. And yes, many Protestant denominations observe Lent, as well as Roman Catholic Church. And the whole thing about Lent cannot be found in the Bible.

And the Bible is the authority. And that’s where we need to go, is back to the Bible. But the Bible is, people interpret the things in the Bible the way they want to. Well, the whole thing about Lent, though, you can’t even find it in your Bible. Shake your Bible and maybe Lent might fall out, no length. There is no length. In anybody’s Bible, the Catholic Bible, the Jewish Bible, the Protestant Bible, there is no length. Lent is not there.

It’s totally pagan. It has to do with the sex goddess and has to do with… With the sex goddess? Yeah, that’s what Easter is. Easter is the mother of Baal and she’s a sex goddess. That’s why there’s eggs and rabbits at this time of year because it has to do with celebration of this sex goddess. I mean, I really don’t know where you come with all this. I mean, well, get out your encyclopedia and look it up. It’s history.

I mean, it’s history. Yeah, Lent is not a part of Christianity. It is, it’s a pagan observance. When Constantine declared the world to be Christian in 321, the pagan observances of Lent and other things were wed into Christianity and they should never have been included, but they just included them to appease the people and they are pagan observances that are not Christian. There are a lot of things in Christianity. When I was a little boy, I was amazed at how many things I was taught when I later began to read the Bible that were not true and not Christian and were just kind of came along with the ride.

And I believe we ought to go back to the Bible and say, well, what is the Bible really say that we should believe in practice? And Lent is not a part of it. And I know how it makes you feel because you feel like, well, wow, you know, for me, I got mad because I said I was deceived by being led to believe these were Christian practices. My church practice led and I had to say, well, why did they deceive me?

Because it’s not Christian. Why are they still, you know, pulling the wool over people’s eyes and getting them to observe of things that are not even Christian. I think that’s wrong. I think we ought to say that that’s wrong and let’s just drop it. But then, how would you take the pups then? What do you consider the pups, the Catholic pups? They’ve been leaders of the Western church in Rome. I mean, there are also leaders continually on the Greek side too, the Eastern Catholic church as well as the Western Roman Catholic church.

They divided in around 600 years, AZAD, and there have been two rival churches ever since. The Roman church isn’t, they try to like to claim that they’re the world church. And the Greek church is like to claim they’re the world church. And actually the bottom line is that the Bible is the authority and if you’re a believer in Christ, you’re in. You don’t need the church to get you to heaven. You don’t need the church to get you to heaven?

No. but the church didn’t die for you christ died for you christ is the savior what if you do it then and you believe that christ is that you know from what you did from the teaching was a great man but does that mean even if you don’t believe he’s gonna go to help that’s right Christ said I am the way the truth in the life and no man cometh under the father by me and Jesus was a Jew Jesus was God flesh and he’s telling me there’s been anti-Semitism and Catholicism there’s been anti-Semitism and Protestantism I know I love the Jews I have quite a few Jewish members of my church that believe Jesus is their Messiah and Jesus you mean no no no Jews for Jesus they’re born again uh…

jews that have trusted prices are safe here you brought born again will live that we never did the fact called you to jesus that believe in the same thing as the bond again but my team i hope i think i do why i’m called you with it the basic idea of the major religion christianity judism in islam the basic idea was to get along but what you’re saying that i think you’re helping the therapist well i’m trying to point out the religion doesn’t say you can choose any religion you want go to hell to be safe you have to trust christ and uh…

jack i don’t know what you’re trusting in the get you to heaven but if you haven’t trusted christ as your only hope of heaven you’re not going to go to heaven you have to trust christ i don’t i don’t see item even if the catholic i don’t believe that i’ve i believe that you know if you do good and you’re a good man uh… a woman i think you’ll go to heaven i mean uh… it’s it’s uh… damnation this thing will go if you don’t believe the way I believe you’re going to go to hell which I think is wrong which I think is Bad that’s why a lot of religions That’s why we can’t get along a lot of time just but more wise over religion Let’s see Jack the Bible teaches the salvation is not based on works and that Everybody has sinned and all are headed for hell unless they trust

Jesus as the Savior and it’s not my works that get me to my heaven, get me to heaven, it’s what Jesus did for me at the cross that gets me to heaven. If you deny the death of Christ and his shed bud is the only means of your salvation, you will not go to heaven, Jack. That’s what the Bible is saying. It says- Now that’s what you’re saying the Bible says. All right, let me quote John 3 16 and you can get your Bible out and see if it doesn’t say the same thing.

No, I mean, you read the Bible, you read different things. different interpretations of different events within christianity that’s been so called with it the not the gospel that was a promise that said those are not in the bible that there are but there’s the those that have quoted by thomas that said that jesus uh… didn’t build you know certain things that jesus was more simple in his belief that then what is told well those are false writings are not a part of the scriptures even the roman catholic church doesn’t accept them as being the word of god i mean the word of god is the sixty six books that we have the thirty nine in the old testament twenty seven in the new testament and they clearly declare that there is only one savior the old and the testament alike teach that jesus is that savior

peter said in the x ten forty three to jesus give all the profits witness that through his name Whosoever believeth in Him would receive the remission of their sins. So unless you believe in Jesus as your Savior, you will not make heaven. And I’m really trying to rescue people out of religion that are blinded and get them to go to heaven by trusting Christ as their Savior. Jack, thank you for calling. And they said, release Moravus. It says, which of these two should I release? They said in verse 21, Moravus. And then he said, what shall I do with Jesus? They said, crucify Him. And so here Christ was taken then to the cross. Verse 26, He released Moravus and then He scourged Jesus and delivered Him to be crucified. Then of course the soldiers played games with him, verse 28, they stripped him, they put in a miscallet robe, mocking him as a king, putting a crown of thorns upon his head, and they bowed the knee before him and they mocked him and they said, hey, oh, king of the Jews, they were all just having fun with him.

And then after the scourging, they took the robe off later, in verse 31, you can imagine as the blood had clotted from the wounds in his back from the scourging, when they ripped that robe of how all that bleeding began again in his back and what an awful experience this must have been. Verse 35, then they crucified him, they gambled at the end of the verse here for his cloak. That was foretold back in the Psalms and another prophecy was fulfilled.

Verse 37, they put the name of his crime above him. Pilate had written the accusation there. This is Jesus, King of the Jews. That’s the reason why Rome had him crucified for treason, claimed to be king when only Caesar was king. Two These, verse 38, were crucified with him. One, of course, we know believed in the last moments of his life. In the last three hours, verse 45, from the sixth hour, that was 12 o’clock noon until the ninth hour, which is 3 o’clock in the afternoon darkness came upon the earth.

And nobody actually saw what took place. But here are the words of Christ in verse 46 where he cries out, Eli, Eli, Lama, Savakanai. That is to say, my God, my God, why has thou forsaken me? We believe he’s letting us know was taking place here. This is spiritual death. This is God turning his back on the men Jesus because of our sin. And so God forsakes him and he separated from God which is spiritual death. Then a little bit later he heals up his spirit and that’s physical death.

So Christ died spiritually as he took the penalty for our sin which is spiritual death and then followed with physical death. In the same order that Adam died spiritually first and then died physically later. Christ died spiritually, was separated from God as in the garden. God no longer fell asleep with that of him and he was separated from Adam and he was spiritually dead, but later physically died. Christ was separated from God the Father and later physically died. Verse 51, the veil in the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.

They say that this veil was made of animal skins, was eight to 12 layers thick and a team of while horses could not rip it apart. And so it seems like it’s quite obvious that God did this. Also was ripped from the top to the bottom, if you notice. And if men had ripped it, they probably would have ripped it from the bottom to the top. But God ripped it from the top to the bottom. So God opened the way into the very holy of holies, into the presence of God by Christ death.

And so He cut the veil open that separated this special room in the temple of the holies from the holy of holies, and the veil was ran in two. Then we have a resurrection. Verse 52, graves were opened. Many bodies of the saints would slept a rose and came out of the graves when, after the resurrection. So when Christ came back, there was a sampling of the future resurrections by Christ giving some of the resurrection bodies. And they went into the holy city, and they appeared unto many.

So there were some who received resurrection bodies and went into the temple. Then they hurriedly buried Christ in verse 57-61. So we want to make sure that nobody pulls any trickery here. So place a guard and make the tomb secure. And so they set a team of soldiers around the clock to watch the tomb. And Pilate says, you have your watch. Go your way. Make it as sure as you can. So they went making the sepulcher sure, sealing the stone and setting a watch.

So they watched the tomb. And so nobody could steal the body and say there was a resurrection. Well, Christ came back from the dead, and look if you will, and we’ll look at this first, but the leaders came, and it says in verse 12, when they were assembled with the elders, they had taken counsel, and they gave large bribes, large amounts of money to the soldiers saying, here’s what we want you to say, and they rehearsed this little story.

Tell people that his disciples came by night and stole him away while we slept. Now think about the logic of that. If they were asleep, how would they know what happened? So they were to tell, while we were sleeping, the disciples gave us a little, how do you know it was the disciples? Or how do you know if anybody came? Or, I mean, it’s kind of dumb, isn’t it? But apparently that’s what happened. So they took the money, did as they were taught, and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews under this day, that while they were sleeping, the disciples came.

But, you know, if a thief came into your home and you were asleep, how would you know what happened? You wouldn’t know what would happen at all. So how could you give testimony at all? You’d have to say, I don’t know what happened. Jesus of course came back from the dead. We find the women coming early in the morning, the angel had rolled the stone away and sat on top of the stone in verse 2 and the angel said verse 6 to the women, he’s not here, he’s risen as he said, come look and see the place where his body had laid.

So what they found was not the resurrection on Sunday morning, but they found the empty tomb. The discovery was made of an empty tomb. Later Jesus meets them verse 9 and they said, Oh joy, which is translated all hail in the King James and they came in verse 9 and held him by the feet and worshiped him. And Jesus said, Don’t be afraid. Don’t tell my brethren that go into Galilee and they shall see me there. And then we find in verse 16 the 11 went out and went away into Galilee until a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.

And when they saw him they worshiped him but some doubted. And Jesus He said unto them saying all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth, he’s God. And then he says go ye therefore and teach. The word teach there means to disciple all the time. Step number one in the great commission, which is leading the Christ first, but then to teach them and then baptize those that they discipled in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Notice one name for the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. There’s only one God who makes himself known as three eternal persons. in verse 20, to observe what it’s whoever I have commanded you. It’s either two great commissions or one commission with two parts. We say it on a plaque out on our four year that I find that most people have walked through here for years and never read the plaque. But the plaque shows part one is to go into all the world and preach the gospel, so we’re to go out and win the loss to Christ.

Second part is to take those loss that we have won and disciple them, make disciples of them where they in turn learn how to lead others to Christ. So we summarize it out there on the plaque if you go out and look at it later. It says the purpose of this church is to win the loss and take the loss that we’ve won and train them to intern when the loss. And that’s the two parts of the Great Commission.

To go in all the world and preach the gospel, then take those that we’ve won and disciple them, teach them, and teach them in turn to win people to Christ. And so it’s ongoing and so it should continue on after we’re gone if we are instructing those that we need the Christ that they should intern, and someone else to Christ. Well, this is Bible Adam, Dr. Englund, so we’re going to get into the Bible for a few minutes. The end result of our Christian life is such that we should be touching other lives with the testimony of the gospel of Christ and people should become saved. \”> It begins with our family. What about our children? Are they saved?

What about our grandchildren? Are they saved? What about our moms and our dads? Are they saved? What about our aunts and uncles and nephews and nieces? Are they saved? Well, you know, when I first got saved at 18, my target was my brother and my other sister, my one sister brought me to the Bible study where I got saved. And then us children targeted mom and dad and we got them saved. And then our whole family worked together as a team and we targeted all of our other relatives, aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins and nieces and anybody that was breathing that was a relative we tried.

I remember my dad he got saved and then oftentimes on a Sunday afternoon when we had nothing to do, he would say to me, son, get in the car. Let’s go over and check out Granddad. And we’d go over and get Granddad out on the back porch and we would quiz him as to what he had to do to be saved. We did that so many times. There was no question about where my Granddad went when he died. And in fact, I got a chance to to preach it as funeral and I told all the relatives who came.

That if they ever wanted to see my granddad again, they had to trust Jesus Christ or they never seen because he was in heaven. And the only wayfect to go to heaven to be able to see him again would be for them to trust Christ as Savior. What a thrill it was for me to be able to tell my granddad’s story. the gospel message of how he got saved. And to see family members hear that message. And our whole family got excited about telling others about Jesus.

What about you? Are you glorifying the Father as a Christian? Well, the way to do it is John 15, 8. Write it down. Mark it down. Bear in is my Father glorified that you bear much fruit, so shall ye be my disciples. Are you a disciple of Christ? Well if you are not attempting to lead people to Christ, I would say you’re not a disciple. That’s correct. Unless you are in some way attempting that other people get saved, involved in praying for the lost, supporting ministries that reach the lost, yourself inviting people where they can hear the gospel, giving out tracks in some way, trying to reach others to tell the story to your family and friends of eternal life.

You need to do that. And we have a great book, by the way, in our Resource Center called the Handbook of Personal Evangelism. We have it in Spanish. We have it in English. It is the greatest evangelism tool I’ve ever read. It tells you the one on one how to talk to someone else. It imagines your conversation, what you’ll say, what they’ll say, what they’ll say. And it talks about how to talk to a cult member. It mentions the Joves Witnesses, the Seventh-day Adventist Mormons and Christian scientists and others.

Also it mentions some of the world religions. It mentions how do you talk to an atheist, an agnostic, an evolutionist. It gives you tips on what to say to be able to lead them to Christ. I certainly hope that you would maybe get that book. I also taught a 10-hour course on how to lead souls to Christ, and that series is available. We had a lot of folks that learned how to lead people to Christ in that course. You can get it and just call our operators that we’ve had to help you.
