So this is clearly an identification of Babylon being the first beast, this world power, equivalent to the head of the image in Daniel chapter 2 when we saw this colossal image that laid out with the heads and the shoulders and the belly and the legs and so on depicting the different world powers. Verse 5, there was another beast, a second likened to a bear and it raised itself up on one side and it had three ribs in its mouth because of the teeth of it and they said thus undo it, arise and devour much flesh.
Now what is interesting about the Medo-Persian Empire is the way that it conquered the world was because of its sheer mass number of troops they would put out in the field. They just would keep them coming and there were just so many that you just Brees couldn’t win. They just would push over you. As aFax is a bear, it’s a bear uses a sheer mass of his body and its prey has very little hope because the bear is so big and so massive and comes down with its weight and just crushes its victim and it wins out every time and the middle person power was pictured like a bear.
The Babylon empire had its splendor and it was like a lion with eagle’s wings and it had gold and majesty and and And we’re going to find that the last rural power will have the ingredients of all the previous ones. And we can see that I think in our country in the United States, which I believe will have all of the qualities to make more the splendid regalness of our country and the things that cause other countries to be in awe of us.
We have all of that. Well, it indicates it says it was raised up here on one side. And that’s apparently because the Timberwolves was not an equal partnership. One side was more powerful than the other. And so as the bear lunged up on and was higher on one side, the middle prisoners empire also was stronger in one of its sides. And that’s how it conquered. The three ribs here may be a reference to the threefold dominion of the Middle Persian Empire and Scofield gives us that note in the center column.
So if you have the center column of the Scofield Bible, the three ribs it says here is a reference to the threefold domain of the second world empire, media, Persia and Babylonian. So it controlled all of ancient Babylon plus what was media and Persia and the three are the three ribs that it refers to here, arrives in devour but flesh. They became the second world power and controlled the world after Babylon had ruled the world. Verse 6, after this I beheld and lo, another like a leopard which had upon its back four wings of a fowl.
The beast also had four heads and dominion was given to it. Well this is a picture of the Grecian Empire later in chapter 8. Greece is named by name as being this one. But here the leopard, how does it conquer its prey? The leopard is fast, isn’t it? Swift. And what happened with Greece? Ander Alexander, Alexander quickly conquered the whole world. He died at about 30 years of age, weeping, because he had no more world to conquer. Poor guy.
He just conquered it so quickly that he just had nothing else to conquer. and he was in tears because he conquered everything there was to conquer. What else could he achieve? And Alexander of course died as a young man. It says it had four heads and it is believed that when he died it was divided among his four generals and the four heads then became the four generals who led four different divisions of the Greek Empire and that was Thrace, Macedonia, Syria and Egypt.
the four divisions of the British Empire that were divided equally among his four major generals. And so the Bible here gives us a wonderful description of Greece and of its quickness and conquering like a leopard and how that when its conqueror died it had four heads that ruled over it. The four generals under Alexander became the leaders of Thrace, Macedonia, Syria and Egypt. Then we have in verse 7. I saw in the night visions and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strongly exceedingly.
And it had great iron teeth. It devoured and break in pieces and stamped the residue with the feet of it. It was diverse from all the beasts that were before it. And it had ten horns. We believe without a doubt this is talking about Rome. And that Rome now was a very, very powerful, powerful empire. They had their chariots and their two-edged Roman sword and all their different superior ways of doing battle. And they conquered the whole known world and were very powerful, powerful.
And when it says here it had ten horns, that refers to the end form of Rome, because Rome really was never defeated, it just kind of petered out. And now Rome in a sense has been revived in the European common market and the European nations coming together as like a revival of ancient Rome. The modern day European common market began with a treaty that was signed in Rome in 1947. And that treaty is called the Treaty of Rome. And that is the basis for the modern European common market.
It’s interesting how many things happened in 1947. In 1947, the United Nations, as the nations were just stricken by what they discovered that Hitler had done to the Jews. And there was a few moments of sorrow in a sense. And the United Nations voted unanimously to allow the land in the Middle East that had been conquered from the Turks by the British in World War I to now become a state for the people of Israel. And so in 1947, the United Nations voted to allow the state of Israel to take place.
And in 1948, Israel declared her independence and declared her statehood. And also in 1947, down by the Dead Sea, a little Bedouin Shepherd boy was looking for a missing goat that was missing from the flock. And he knew he was in deep trouble if he didn’t find it. He comes near some caves at an area called Kumran. He throws stones hoping to hit the goat and make a noise and he’d know where the goat had gone. And he heard a sound that was familiar in his campsite as many a night, just for entertainment, no television.
By the campsite they threw maybe rocks at a clay jar and he’d hear that sound of a jar. And he knew what he’d hit. He got his parents, they came with ropes, they lowered themselves down inside. They found the first scrolls. Of the Old Testament that had ceased crows, the most incredible find, biblically of our Bible, and it all happens at the same time. The State of Israel founded the Word of God being discovered, the oldest manuscripts that show the accuracy of the transmission of God’s Word down to today.
Also in Europe, the beginning of this revival is this ancient world power, this fourth beast that was diverse from all the rest, that had ten horns that would rise up in the end times. Notice Daniel puts his focus on the horns in verse 8. I’ve considered the horns and notice it says, behold, there came up among them another little horn. Now what is interesting is that if you read Bible prophecy people, they miss this. I don’t understand how it happens.
But I was reading this one night and I was just studying prophecy and I said, wait a minute. Wait a minute. Thank you for joining us. We hope that you’re enjoying today’s teaching on the book of Daniel. You’re listening to Bibleline with your host, Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Now we’re going to go to Judy in Smithville, Virginia and Judy. Welcome to Bibleline your own here. Oh hi, how are you? I guess I’d like to, of course I’d like to ask you maybe a couple of questions. Go for it. All right. First one is about being saved. When you are saved and you feel like you didn’t lead the right life according to it, should you or is it possible to do it again?
Well certainly you can just to make sure but you become saved by simply trusting in the finished work of Jesus at the cross. He fully paid your sin debt at the cross. On the cross he said it is finished, which means paid in full or full satisfaction received for your sin debt. When you trust that he died in your place and paid your sin debt in full was buried in rose again from the dead, Judy God saved you. And then you have the written guarantee and you really ought to write this one down.
First John 513 that says, these things have I written unto you, Judy, or any in our audience that have believed on Christ. It says I’ve written this to you that believe on the name of the Son of God that you may KNOW. It doesn’t say hope or guess or perhaps or maybe it says you can know that you HAVE have eternal life. So you can know that you have eternal life and that occurs at the moment of belief. And so if you’ve trusted Christ, Judy, you have eternal life right now and you’ll have it tomorrow, next week, next year, 100 years now, millions now, and forever.
Let me ask you one more question. Sure. Now, a person who has been saved, this is somebody else I was concerned with, has actually done some really sinful and is continuing to do sinful things. And what about that person? Is that person can do whatever this person wants? If they are saved, if they are saved, they are saved by simply trusting Christ, but then they need to live for Christ. If they don’t, they’ll still be saved if they are.
But God will spank them. You need to write down Hebrews chapter 12 verse 6 to 11, Hebrews 12, 6 to 11 in particular where it says that when you are received in the God’s family as a son, because God loves you or your daughter because God loves you, he’ll discipline you as a father would his delinquent child. So he’s not going to let you live as you please and if you’re not going to respond to that he might even take you home to heaven early.
But you’ll definitely say but you will not be able to get away with it. God will definitely be all over your case. I find this with brand new believers especially. They come to me and they say, you know, everything was going pretty smooth in my life until I trusted Christ. And I say, what’s that evidence that you’re saved? Because now God is interfering in your life and he’s going to keep on you until you get your life straighten around where he can bless it because he can’t bless evil.
So God is a good parent will be disciplining your you and your life to get you on track So he can bless your life because he wants to reward you I do understand that But this other person that I’m concerned with doesn’t seem to and is getting away with so many things Things that have been when you mind I do you can you talk to that person about it? Do they do they listen to you because in Hebrews 12?
know this person thinks that I am crazy talking about you know it’s like that you have to leave him in the hands of the Lord but he if they really say they will still go to heaven but Hebrews 12 8 in that passage I just was talking to you about says if you be without chastisement or discipline where of all of God’s children are partakers it says you’re a bastard that’s a pretty strong word in the King James and not a son so it means you’re illegitimately claiming to be a Christian when indeed you’re not.
So if you live as you please and get away with it, God does not chase and or discipline the unsaved person, only his children. When I got in trouble as a child, I would say when my dad called me in and told me he was gonna punish me, I would say, well, hey, I didn’t do this alone. Let me bring all the neighbor kids over and you take care of them too. And he said, no, I’m only gonna take care of you.
You’re my child. And that’s right. And so I thought, oh man, these other kids are getting away with it. And I got caught and my dad’s going to punish me. But the same thing is true as a believer. God will discipline those that are his. But if you’re not a believer, he’s not going to interfere. And you’ll wind up dying without knowing that there was a loving God who wanted to straighten your life out. Well, it’s a shame because this person is a believer or an average chose to put it aside because of what he’s doing adultery, other things.
Well, there’s consequences for that and the norm gets to his attention. When you are a believer, God will follow up in your life. When I got saved, I went off to the University of Florida that summer. I got saved. I just got out of high school. And for that coming year, I didn’t live for Christ at all and I was a secret believer. But you know God followed me up because I was a believer.SHARE he had chased and worked on my life and finally brought me to my knees where I dedicated my life all alone in my dorm room and I said Lord I’m not going to fight you.
I’m going to serve you and I’ve been doing it ever since. But he follows up those that are really his and I really knew God was on my case. I know he does with me because if I even feel I do something wrong I know I’m going to hear from him and I do every time. There you go. That’s the evidence you’re saved. And if you’re an unbeliever, he doesn’t interfere at all. So he may not be a believer and maybe he may be unsaved.
We just don’t know. I don’t keep the lambs like a life. Well, yeah, I was there with Shurkin. Okay. Well, we’ll just have to pray for that person. Thank you, Judy. Thank you so much. Okay. Thank you, Judy. That was Judy up in Virginia. And we now have Carl in Tampa, Florida. Carl, welcome to Bibleline You’re on the air. Yeah, that’s the hang. Let me ask you, did you hear the day where the NIV elevated their 30th anniversary and they would, the survey that was done worldwide where they found that I think it was like 65 percent of pastors and leaders and other others as well, even that are reading the NIV now as their end up?
My question is, you know, what do you think about that? I’ll hang up and hear your answer, but also I wanted to make a point that in first Timothy 316 and the King James says God came with God was manifest in the flesh. And if you look at the NIV also the message Bible and by the way also the Jehovah with his Bible he came in a body, which I don’t think it’s saying the same thing because we I just wonder why they changed that and why is it you think that so many people are reading the NIV?
I sure will thank you Carl. You know it’s a part of the end times and the NIV I think is one of the terrible translations that’s out there deleting so many things. You know the Bible warns about in the book of Revelation about not adding or taking away away from God’s Word. And look at these people that are so brazen to do that. They’re going to pay a big price for that one day when they stand before the Lord those that have been responsible.
But you’re missing, you know, 44 verses in their entirety in the NIV. And it’s a part of the apostasy today. People are wanting something easy to read. And they really don’t care whether they get what God originally said or not. Apparently they don’t believe the Bible is the Word of God. And that every word as it was given in the original was given by God exactly as he was. have it to be given and today they don’t seem to take that seriously.
And so here we have Bibles that just absolutely change the meaning and they try to do away with the deity of Christ. That’s under attack. That’s obviously an attack from Satan who hates Christ and he not only hated Christ when he was here on the earth but now hates him and his word. And when it says in 1st Timothy 3 16 that he was manifest in the flesh or in a body, it’s meaningless because as you pointed out, Carl, you’re in a body, I’m in a body, and that doesn’t mean anything at all.
But when it says in the King James, God was made known in the flesh. That’s a lot different. And Jesus Christ is God who came and took on human flesh. He’s the only one who’s ever done that. obviously he’s gone and he’s uniquely the Messiah, the Savior. And he is the one that you have to trust in in order to be saved. And you have to ask yourself today is the Jesus that is being presented to you by your church, the Jesus of the Bible.
Because the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 11 that false teachers would come along and present to you another Jesus. And Paul says you might well accept that. And obviously the cult is older. The witnesses present Jesus, it’s not the Jesus of the Bible. The Mormons present another Jesus who’s not the Jesus of the Bible. The Christians signed this present another Jesus, it’s not the Jesus of the Bible. And if you accept one of these false crimes, you’re not going to be saved.
You have to accept the true Jesus, which is God manifested in the flesh who went to the cross and died to pay for our sins. And Carl, you’re right on. This is a part of the last days. And I think we’re right there. I think the fact that we see the world really focusing on the Middle East and there’s rumors and war of war right now in the Middle East big time. All the countries, Syria’s moved their troops down along the Golan Heights.
We find that Iran is preparing apparently for some type of retaliation against Israel if they are hit. They’re talking about war in the Middle East right now and it could be that any week now war will break out there so we’re watching these things that take place at the bible spoken about we’re going to go to tony in richmond virginia tony welcome to buy one year on the air tomorrow and i can’t believe is there uh… there’s forty four verses that the n i d delete is there any way uh…
to get a hold of you know exactly which forty four verses has been deleted out of the bible because i know uh… a couple of people that i really intend to we really we have a quiz here just call and will mail it to you for your charge. A quiz on the NIV Bible. And if you take the NIV Bible to answer the questions, you’ll get a zero because all the questions on this quiz are questions about the 44 verses that are not there.
So it’s a real wake up when people take their NIV and they take this quiz and they get a zero. They usually decide to get rid of their NIV. It’s just embarrassing to them. They can’t find one answer because The verses that they’re looking for the answers in aren’t there. They’re not there. If anybody wants a copy of that, just call us and we’ll send that out to you free charge the NIV quiz. I’ll call back. Thanks, Dr. Wood.

To pledge your support for Bibleline, give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Most of the modern translations delete and change the text of the Bible and sometimes it is really, really to our detriment. In fact, sometimes the meaning is totally changed to the opposite of what the Bible is really saying. That’s scary. One of the ones that’s out there is the new living translation. It seems like they did no research at all. They took the word repent every time it occurs and just took apparently a word processor and put in the phrase, turn from your sin.
Turn from your sin every place that occurs. That’s totally wrong. Repentance is not turning from sin. The Greek word is metanoia and it means a change of mind and when you repent you change your mind about Christ and about how to be saved and about works for salvation and simply trust in the shed blood of Christ as the only means of your salvation. Amazingly though, the English were repented, does not mean the same thing. So it was a bad translation.
And ever since preachers have been saying, turn from your sin, when if it had been translated correctly, it would be change your mind and that’s what’s required in salvation. In fact, when you trust Christ, you do change your mind. One of the great ways to remember what this doctrine is all about is to know that you can repent without believing, but you cannot believe without repenting. What did I just say? You can repent without believing. What does that mean?
You can change your mind about Christ, about God, about salvation, and yet not trust Christ, not believe. But you cannot believe or trust Christ without having changed your mind from whatever you were previously trusting in. So biblical faith, biblical trust in Christ includes and implies that change of mind which is called repentance. You don’t have to use the word repent to be teaching repentance. In fact, if it were true that you had to use the word repent, then we might as well pitch out a lot of our Bible.
You know the Gospel of John, the wonderful gospel track of God? People give out gospels of John expecting that people can read that and get saved. Guess how many times the word repent occurs in the Gospel of John? Zero! There is not one time does the word repent. You know, the Epistle to the Romans, the book of Romans in the New Testament, one of the great, great 16 chapter letters of Paul that just defines the Gospel is really all about what the Gospel is and is not.
Guess how many times the word repent occurs in the book of Romans? Once! Amazing! So it’s not everywhere. But you know the concept is there everywhere because in order to be saved you have to change your mind from whatever you’re trusting in To trusting in Christ and when you do that you have repented you have changed your mind as a new believer Just learning about repentance. I would be amazed as I go to a church or I’d go to a crusade or a revival and the preacher would say Repent of sin which by the way the phrase repent of sin does not even occur in your Bible once That’s right.
The phrase, quote, repent of sin, unquote, that phrase does not occur in your Bible. It’s not there. You would think it would be everywhere because you hear that phrase used so often repent of sin. Well, it doesn’t make any sense. If you know the true meaning of the word repent, I don’t know about you. But I always always taught that that sin was wrong. What about you? Well, if I were to repent of my sin, it would mean I would change my mind about my sin and I would say, whoa, Oh, it must be wonderful.
Where have I missed? No, of course not. That doesn’t make any sense, does it? Repent of sin would really mean change your mind about sin. If you’ve been taught that it was wrong, you’d think it was wonderful. That’s crazy. That’s not the truth. In fact, the problem is, is that they use that phrase that doesn’t even occur in the Bible, which they manufacture. And then they define it as turning from your sin, which by the way is not something the Bible teaches.
And obviously, when they have a crusade They tell the audience to come forward and repent of their sin, turn from their sin as they define it. They have the choir in the church or in the revival or in the crusade singing, just as I am I come. Without one plea but that thy blood was shed for me. So the preacher says, turn from your sin and the choir says, no, don’t listen to him. Come just as you are. Just as I am I come without one plea but that thy blood was shed for me.
And then all of a sudden the preacher says, don’t listen to the choir. I’m telling you, repent of your sin, turn from your sin if you want to be saved. They’re not on the same page. They’re not saying the same thing. If you had to turn from your sin to be saved, the choir ought to be singing some refrain or some song that said, turn from your sin. I could write it probably, turn, turn, turn, turn right now, turn or burn for sake or bake, or something along that line.
But that isn’t what the Bible teaches. We’re going to rejoin stations that have been on break into the second half hour, Bibleize. Would you like to help Bibleline continue in your area? You can. We hope that you plan to join us and open your Bible for a verse-by-verse study of the book of Daniel.
If you have missed any of the teaching in this series, please call our Resource Center at 1-800-576-3771. Now, please join us as we return to our question in an answer segment and then will return for more Bible teaching from Dr. Lynch Drummer. We’re going to go to Stewart in Richmond, Virginia. Stewart, welcome to Bibleline you’re on there. Thanks, Dr. Hank. I appreciate that. And I just want to say I appreciate your radio show. And I have a quick question about what the Bible says about the universe.
I recently heard on the Science Channel about something called Dark Energy, as well as Dark Matter. dark matter and apparently scientists have decided that they don’t know why the Milky Way and other galaxies are held together. They know that the mass inside those galaxies is not enough to generate the gravity to hold them together. And so they came up with this new theory called dark energy or dark matter, which they said There’s about 70% dark reperfPutin and 70% of it all together.
I was wondering, it reminds me, I think it’s God holding these things together. I was wondering if you could give me some script. I think you’re absolutely right. I like the verse in Colossians where it says that Christ is the one who holds the universe together. In Colossians, let me just quote the verse for you. Colossians chapter 1 it says here that Jesus by him were all things created that are in heaven this is Colossians 1 16 by him were all things created that are in heaven that are in the earth visible and invisible whether there be thrones or dominions or principalities or powers it says all things were created by him and for him here’s the verse I’d like to point out verse 17 of Colossians 1 says, and Christ is before all things and by Him all things consist or that word means held together.
So the universe is held together by Christ. If God took His hand off this universe it would just implode or explode and it would be all over. But Christ is the one who holds the universe together. Hopefully that’s a good verse for you. Colossians 1 and 17. Great. Thank you so much.Reuters, you know, scientists in….. they give it a name, Dark Four. Yes, I have. Okay. Good. Well, thanks for clearing that up. That reallyimentary makes things more clear. Thanks a lot.
Stuart in Richmond, Virginia. Cindy in Tampa, Florida, calls in with this offer question. She says, where in the Bible is it that a demon cannot enter a person that has the Holy Spirit? like 1 John 4 4 where it says greater is He that is in you, that’s God the Holy Spirit, than He that is Satan who is in the world. It says earlier in this same chapter 1 John 4, that we have overcome the demons through Christ who died for us.
And so therefore we are dwelt by the Holy Spirit and He’s greater than Satan and his demons that are in the world. no demon and certainly Satan wouldn’t well want to dwell in the same body that God the Holy Spirit dwells in. So they obviously are not going to try to end dwell a believer. So if you’re a believer, you’re safe. In fact, it says in Ephesians 1, 13 and 14, you’re sealed. by the Holy Spirit, which I believe means that not only has God indwalt you, but he seals you as his possession and that speaks of protection and security that you’re safe from demons or from Satan once you trust Christ as your Savior.
We’re going to Orlando, Florida. We have Tino on the line and Tino, welcome to Bibleline your on the air. Hello pastor. I have a question regarding Acts 1730 And this is a… when Paul is speaking to the Greeks about worshiping the idol, the unknown idol, and it says at the time of this ignorance, like in times past, it got winked at it. So my question is, does that mean in past times where people didn’t know any better and they were worshiping idols that God gave them a past?
I know, I don’t think that means it at all, but what he did is he allowed people to believe but they really didn’t become saved in the sense that they possessed eternal life when they died until after Christ had died on the cross of Calvary. In other words, the sins of the Old Testament were the word is used in the Hebrew atonement in English. And that means a covering. He kind of swept them under the cover or kind of covered them over.
If you have guests coming over, sometimes you might throw things in the closet, just crammed a door shut or throw them in the garage and get them out of sight. But you don’t want your guests to see your dirty laundry. So you hide it. Well in a sense God covered it and that’s called an atonement. But that’s an Old Testament word. We really shouldn’t use the word atonement in the New Testament because we have a full reconciliation that has been made for us at the cross through Christ’s death.
And so sins are taken care of. So the Old Testament saint had what I call a layaway salvation. It was laid away for him, but he couldn’t really enjoy it fully until it was paid for, just like if you lay away something at the store, you can’t take it home until you fully pay for it. Well, they waited in a place called Paradise in the heart of the earth and got overlooked their sin until Christ could take care of it and he paid for it at the cross.
And once they did, then they were released out of Paradise and taken up to heaven. So Paradise is no longer in the heart of the earth. You remember Christ said in Matthew 1240 that he be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. He also told the dying thief on the cross, today thou shalt be with me in Paradise. So Paradise was in the heart of the earth in a place called Hades in the Greek or Shiel in the Hebrew, S-H-E-O-L.
And Christ emptied that place out and now Paradise is in heaven itself according to 2 Corinthians 12 1-3. And so now if you’re a believer, you die, you’re absent from the body, present with the Lord. So he basically overlooked them or he covered them or he hid them until they could be taken care of. Just like you might put things in a closet and then later straighten it up and get your house in order. You temporarily hide them. That’s what God did with our sins.
So it doesn’t mean he just kind of said, okay, you can believe anything you want. they still had to believe on Christ to be saved or they wouldn’t be saved at all. Okay, well the only reason, the only other thing though adding to your comment is I understand that about the Jews but it seems like he’s speaking to people who aren’t Jews, he’s speaking to these Greeks on Mars Hill so does that really apply? I mean it sounds like if he’s talking to them about their ignorance, you know, does that really, is that really about the Jews in their ignorance?
Yeah, but well it is and if you read Romans you see that. In Romans 1 you have God’s indictment of the heathen. They have no excuse. In you read in Romans 2 you have the indictment of just the Gentiles who are religious and they are condemned. And then you have in the latter part of chapter 2 the Jews that were indicted, they had a knowledge that they were lost. And it says in chapter 3 the summary is that all have sinned, all have come short of the glory of God, and that everyone will one day stand before God and their mouths will be shut they will not have a defense they will not be able to excuse the fact that they’re lost because God has sought them and if they become responsible and seek him they will find him and they’ll become saved.
So nobody will have an excuse no matter whether ignorant as heathen oftentimes are because God in Romans 1 19 has planted a knowledge of the fact that he exists in them and therefore it says Romans 1.20, they were without excuse. And God wants them to come to know the truth, and He is seeking those that are lost. Luke 19, 10, Christ says He came to seek it to save it which is lost. And so He’s pursuing us, and if we respond and seek Him in return, we’ll find Him.
And so that’s what really was going on and know the Gentiles over the Jews have no real advantage. We’re all lost and all headed for hell and all are pursued by God. And you see it throughout the Old Testament, Jews and Gentiles alike got saved just as Jews and Gentiles alike get saved today. Okay. Well, thank you, Pastor, for your answer. Thank you and we’ll have to deal with that more because there’s a lot of wonderful verses that point that out throughout scripture and Salvation has always been available for all people and it says in Jeremiah 29 13 You shall seek me and find me when you shall search me with all your heart All right, we have here Amy in Tampa, Florida calls in and she says where do the nor what do the seven dad Venice believe?
The seven dad Venice believe that if you worship on Sunday, you have the mark of the beast They believe if you worship on Saturday, you have the mark of the living God basically you have to keep the Sabbath and you have to keep the commandments you have to keep the law to be saved and They don’t believe in a hell. They reject the doctrine of hell. They believe in soul sleep they have lots of crazy doctrines, they’ll never get rid of them because what they believe is what LNG white taught as the713th read the Bible through the lenses of LNG white.
They’re never going to get straight until they get rid of LNG white’s books, which I would recommend if you’re 7 and Adventist, just treasure books. Stay with your Bible. You’re going to come out fine. But the 7 and Adventists are not saved because they’re working their way to heaven. They’ll trick you, and they’ll say in one breath you’re saved by grace. And then in the next breath they’ll say that Christ began this investigative judgment back in the 1800s where He’s examining your works right now to determine whether you’re worthy of grace or not.
So it’s a crazy backdoor approach to say that grace is earned, which is nonsense, and that you work to earn grace to be saved by grace. So it’s a convoluted way of twisting things around, and we need to pray for the seven dead minutes. The demand that you worship on Saturday to be saved. I got a nice letter here from Patty, and she writes into me and says, I thought I was saved in 1975, but since listening to Pastor Hank, I found out my salvation was not sure.
Now bless God, I know the truth and am set free from all the flourishes I’ve been taught. Thank you so much, Pastor Hank, for telling the truth to everyone. I will continue to support you and your ministry till our Lord calls objectionable to heaven. Bless you and all those who give their time to be there helping you. Patty, thank you Patty. We are excited about hearing from people that are getting saved. Maybe thinking they were saved prior to, but all of a sudden realizing that they were trusting in their works, they’re trusting in things that they’re doing in addition to Christ and it’s not really the true gospel.
And that’s too bad. This wraps up today’s question and answer segment about the Bible featuring Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Now, please join us as we continue the book of Daniel teaching series from Dr. Hank Lindstrom. it says, behold, there came up among them another little horn.
Now what is interesting is that if you read Bible prophecy people, they miss this. I don’t understand how it happens. But I was reading this one night and I was just studying prophecy and I said, wait a minute, wait a minute. I had remembered from first or second grade math. And if I had ten apples and I had another apple, I had eleven apples. And I said, wow, if I have ten horns and I have another horn, then I have eleven horns.
And this represents eleven nations. And what does it tell us as we consider this eleventh horn? It says, notice, there came up among them. In other words, out of the 10 nations of Europe would come another nation and the size of the horn determines the age and strength of the animal, isn’t it? So I was just talking to a person yesterday and they have their roots in England and he said, you know, he and his wife flew back, he has a flute at England to have their marriage over there and they got married in a church that still exists from the 12th century.
Now we live in America and you can’t go back more than 250 years or so, you know, basically in our history of things in this country. But he actually was married in a chapel that existed since the 12th century England. And I said that had to be special, wasn’t it? You know, think about it. And it’s interesting that we’re the young kid on the block. The United States of America can’t trace our roots back 2000 years. And when you go to Europe, you can go all the way back to the time of ancient Rome.
And you can go back history-wise, 2,000 years, but in America you can’t. And so what is it saying here? I believe the country that it’s talking about has to be us. There’s no other country that has been spawned by Europe that is younger than and stronger than Europe. The United States is it. We are the one world superpower today, and we are primarily European in descent. You came in here, generally came in through New York Harbor. They came in to Elaj Island.
There they were processed as immigrants. And anybody that can talk to your parents or grandparents that came to this country, they’ll tell you the story of how they came and how they entered probably through that route. Most people did. And that is our heritage. And we are a nation that is younger than and stronger than Europe. And it says, before whom were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots, and behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man and a man speaking great things.
This is talking about the Antichrist. The Antichrist will be so identified with the 11th country that he will be the mouthpiece for the 11th country. That means he’s the head of it. And I believe he’ll be the president of this country whenever it takes place. And look at what it says here. It says here this little horn before whom three of the first horns were plucked up by the roots. I believe this is telling us that Europe will come under the control of America, and I believe in the very near future, and it will be because we’ll pluck them up by the roots.
That means we’ll take them over militarily, and you can see how quickly that could happen. If we had a president who was the Antichrist, who would be willing to be a dictator and control his country, And by the way, you can see it every day. We’re losing our rights. And the government more and more is intruding upon our life and our world and that we’re becoming controlled in everything that we do and are buying and selling and everything can be controlled by one man.
But as the President of the United States, he could order the takeover of Europe and it would happen in a heart beat. Our military is already there. All he has to do is say, take them, and you could probably guess what three countries would be taken. I think myself, England, France, and Germany will go down on a heartbeat. And then the rest of Europe will just say, we’re yours. And our president has just been over this week. And what does he say?
That we’re going to be connected and no power on Earth can divide us. It was an interesting statement for Bush to make. that no power on earth can divide Europe and America united together. It’s going to head that way and it will actually happen, I believe, by force, according to the Bible, that will take Europe to her knees. Our military is already there ready to go. And then the rest of Europe will be hers. And then the Antichrist will take the Western nations and control the entire Middle East.
We see the handwriting on the wall. Syria and Iran now coming together in an alliance against America. know what’s going to happen. And right now we know that the people of Lebanon are actually asking our president to come in and liberate him. Have you seen the cheers? And they’re saying, we want you to bring freedom to us. We want you to get rid of the Syrians, to make them in their occupation. And Bushdden is saying they’re going to have to end their occupation.
They’re going to have to fight terrorism. And he’s going to bring democracy to the Middle and we’re seeing it all happen and it’s happening right now. I think that we’re watching the very end time events take place. And if Bush is not the Antichrist, then somebody who is close by. Well, be the Antichrist. So somebody could be the Antichrist right now in power. Now Bush is a Christian and he may not be. He is a Methodist and if you believe Methodist doctrine you’re not saved because the Methodist believe it works your salvation, lose your salvation.
So if you are a Methodist here, I hope I didn’t offend you too bad, but that’s what you believe and you’re probably going to leave your Methodist Church. But the Methodist believe it works. And so if Bush is the Methodist to the heart to the court and He could be the man. We could be looking at him. But if he’s a Christian and he’ll be raptured out and then somebody will follow along shortly after the way is being set and prepared for that to happen.
And now the President is getting more power every day. He’s appointed a brand new position which allows this new man now to be controlled over 15 government agencies of police power and the Antichrist will have those kind of police powers just like Hitler did. that you will be under this control of this man. And it looks like Congress will probably approve that. So more and more power is being consolidated under the executive branch, under the direct control of the president, and they’ll be able to control your every action and everything you do.
And we are about there. It’s really set up for an anacrist now. It’s really set up for a dictator. And you can see how rapidly our freedoms are being taken from us. And if it were ever to happen, somebody decided to do that at the top, it could never be reversed. Because the president right now has such power that nobody could come against him. If he decided that he wanted to become that power, he could immediately immediately have anybody that speaks against him put in jail and under the Patriot Act held without a trial or without anything.
And so we’re really watching. I think the end time events take place. It could happen so quick. It’ll happen in a heartbeat. a heartbait, and you can see how Europe would be taken over by the United States. It says here, if you will, in verse 24 in the interpretation of the dream, it says here, or the vision, it says the ten horns out of this kingdom, which is Rome, are ten kings that shall arise. That’s in the last days right now.
I think you were living in the last days. And then it says another. So if you have 10, we have another, which means 11. We are the 11th. It comes out of the 10 and is younger than and stronger than the 10. And notice it says, he shall be diverse from the first. And look at the last phrase, verse 24 again. He shall subdue three kings. If you had to turn from your sin to be saved, the choir ought to be singing some refrain or some song that said turn from your sin. I could write it probably. Turn, turn, turn, turn right now. Turn or burn for sake or bake or something along that line. But that isn’t what the Bible teaches. The Bible teaches that God so loved the world that every one of us were all sinners. And that if we would simply believe or trust in Christ as our Savior, as the one who died to pay for us sins that we would be saved, we would be saved eternally and we are saved on the spot just as we are.
You know in Romans chapter 5 it says God commended His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Romans 5, 8, it’s really saying there that while we were in the act of sinning or in the state of sinning Christ died for our sins and we are saved by receiving that wonderful payment that Christ made at the cross for you and for me. Today we have so many different things that Satan is using to add works to salvation.
If you have to change your life or if you have to turn from your sin to be saved, that’s works. That’s contrary to the Bible. And the Bible says that you get saved and then God Spirit comes into your life and gives you the power to have victory over sin. to tell the lost person he has to stop sending in order to be saved as a work for salvation. That’s a false plan of salvation and I’m afraid he won’t be saved if you’re trusting in changing your life or your behavior.
All things are possible if you only believe it. If you trust Christ, God will save you. He paid for your past, your present, your future sins. They’re all paid for and you can receive the gift of eternal life at the moment you believe and you’ll possess it forever the rafter. And by the way, if one person in all of history were ever lost after they got saved, Jesus would be a liar. The word of God would be wrong. You can’t be lost.
Because God keeps you saved. He says it in John 639, this is the Father’s will which has sent me to the Father which he had given me, I should not lose you. We don’t lose salvation. We’re kept by the power of God, 1 Peter 1 5. And it is Christ who keeps you saved. So in order to be lost, you would have to incapacitate Christ. You’d have to overcome Christ. You’d have to be stronger than Christ. Christ is God.
He’s got it to go on Christ. It’s impossible. Impossible. And those poor folks that believe you can lose it, I’m afraid don’t realize that they’re trusting in their works and they won’t be saved. One of the best questions you could ask somebody is, can you lose your salvation? If they say yes, they’re really saying it from this point right now until they die. What they do will determine whether they are saved or not. That’s works. It makes them the Savior not Christ, and they won’t be saved at all.
I believe it’s the difference between identifying the wheat and the tears. The tears look like Christians walk like Christians, talk like Christians, sing songs like in hymns like Christians, carry Bibles like Christians, but in reality they are not because they are trusting in their works. And that ultimately whether they make heaven or not is dependent upon what they do or what they do not do. The false message, the false gospel always points you to your future. And what you will or will not do is the determining factor as to whether you go to heaven.
The true gospel points you back to the cross where Jesus said it is finished. It’s done. It’s done. And yet how many denominations call a liar, call Christ a liar. When he’s set on the cross it’s finished. That means it’s finished. And they say it’s not finished. Why you have to keep the commandments and you have to go to church and you have to be and you have to go to Mass and you have to do penance. And it’s not finished.
You have to keep on keeping, keeping, and keeping, and keeping on. And the one that endures to the end shall be saved. My friend, that’s the devil’s lie. And you’ll not be saved. You’ll not go to heaven if you’re depending upon your works. And I warn you, because one day it will be too late if you die and haven’t understood that Jesus paid it all, that every one of your sins, past, present, future were paid for at the cross.
It is finished, it’s done. And you simply receive God’s gift by receiving the fullblogs of Christ’s name for your sin. My friend, you’ll not be saying it. God bless, keep looking up. Jesus is coming. And we believe He’s coming soon. You’ve been listening to Bibleline, a presentation of Bibleline Ministries of Tampa, Florida.
