That was a very good object lesson wasn’t when Joshua could take the people into the Valley. They could look at the two mountains and he gave them the object lesson that you’ll be like this mountain gares them if you’ll only obey my commandments.

But you’re going to be like this mountain over here that’s bald and desolate if you don’t. And that’s really what has happened. And I find that so many Jewish people are not even aware of that passage in the Bible. You know, I remember I had an evening with a number of Jewish families And one of the men said, I don’t understand why we have been so treated down through time. I said, do you really want to know the answer?

He said, yeah. I said, let me open the Bible and read it to you. I read Leviticus 26 and he began to weep. He began to cry. He saw it. But that’s what has happened. They had really departed from the Bible, departed from the Scriptures, had not kept the commandments that got given them Mount Sinai. And God said, if they only had kept them, I’d give you peace and I’d give you prosperity. I’ll bless you in your land and your enemies will run from before you and they’ll not overthrow you.

But if you don’t, I’ll destroy your land and I’ll kick you out of the land. I’ll scatter you among the nations and your cities will be desolate and your sanctuaries will be destroyed. And it was a very powerful moment. He didn’t trust Christ, but that was the next step where I was going. But he truly saw that what the Jewish people have suffered was really the consequence of their own actions that they did not keep his law. Well, this is what Daniel is saying.

Verse 5, we have sinned, have committed iniquity, have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments. One of the things that they forgot to do, conveniently for themselves, is God had them every seventh year let the land rest. In other words they wouldn’t plant any crops every seventh year. We do something similar today with crop rotation where we let the land rest in a sense that we grow a different crop. And so that’s the modern farming method today where we rotate them around and the land gets somewhat of a chance to rest.

Not quite as good as what God did I’m sure, but God every seventh year would let the land rest and replenish itself and then come back and plant for another six years. Well, they didn’t do that. They quit doing it. And… You know, a number of years went by and more years went by and I guess some of them said, well, I guess God hadn’t done anything, so I guess He’s forgotten. And they kept on doing it. Well, 490 years went by where they didn’t let the land rest.

And guess what? God said, you owe me. And guess what? One year for every seven years and 490 years means that they owe God 70 years. So he said, so since you wouldn’t let the land rest and you cheated me out of 70 years, I’m going to remove the whole nation from off the land of Israel and put you over to Iraq and I’ll let the land of Israel rest for 70 years and hopefully you’ll learn something from this.

And so the 70 years that God took the Jews over into Iraq was really saying, I want you to, you’re going to have to compensate me for that. I really believe sometimes those same principles operate for us today. I’ve had people say, I’m too busy to read the Bible. I don’t have time to get active in church. The next time I might see them, they’re in hospital. They said, you know, I’ve had all this time to read the Bible here.

It’s been wonderful. I’ve found it so great to just have time to pray and talk to the Lord and read my Bible. Well, maybe God was saying, all right, you cheated me out of this number of Sundays. And so you owe me a couple of weeks in the hospital and I’ll give you a chance to read the Bible and to pray and so on. I really think some of those things are really true that if you want to try to cheat God, then He’ll require of it of you later and you’ll pay that price.

But God of course loves you and He’s trying to teach us to come back to Him and many of those have told me that they’ve found it a wonderful time. They just had nothing else that they could do but read their Bible and pray and so on. Well this is what happened here to Israel. Verse 6, neither have we harkened under thy servants the prophets. They weren’t listening to the prophets which speak in your name to our kings and our princes and to our land and our fathers and to all the people of the land.

O Lord, righteousness belong unto thee. But unto us confusion of faces as at this day. to the men of Judah and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and to all Israel that are near and that are far through all those countries with a thou has driven them because why? Here’s the because. Why were they scattered? Why didn’t this happen? Because of their trespests that they have trespassed against thee. So God was really enacting here the blessing and the curse because they had transgressed.

God now has punished them. Verse 8, O Lord, to us belong confusion of face and to our kings and to our princes and to our fathers because we have sinned, because we have sinned against thee. He makes his case pretty clear. Verse 9, to the Lord our God belong mercies in forgiveness, though we have rebelled against him. Neither have we obeyed the voice of the Lord our God to walk in his laws, which he said before us by his servants.

Pope================================623ATURErarily Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing that they might not obey thy voice. Therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the Law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him. Verse 12, And he hath confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us. uth Nau Mormonism John and upon Jerusalem. Look at verse 12. It tells us the Bible was confirmed.

God did what he said he would do. He has confirmed his words which he’s been saying against us and against our judges that judged us by bringing upon us a great evil. This discipline of God, of taking them off the land and taking them over into Iraq, was a confirmation that the Bible is BELOWUGE God said, here’s what I’m going to do. And he did it. He said, if you are obedient, then I’ll do this. If you’re disobedient, then I’ll do that.

Verse 13, as it is written in the law of Moses, we just read it in Leviticus 26, the blessing in the curse. As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us. This is exactly what we read. We read about the curse. And Daniel’s saying, that’s what’s happened to us. We are seeing the scripture fulfilled upon our nation, because we did not keep your laws. And so it says, yet made me notSourceFile our281, before the Lord our God, that we might turn from our inequities and understand that truth.

They didn’t learn a lesson while they were in captivity. kb They didn’t pray and say, oh Lord, help us to get back on track and let us understand your word and your purpose for our life and discover your will. They weren’t doing that. Therefore, verse 14, the Lord hath watched upon the evil. What he’s saying, he’s watched upon the judgment. In other words, when God sometimes chases or judges us as believers, when we’re delinquent, he watches how we respond.

And Israel had not responded very well. They hadn’t gotten a lesson. They hadn’t sought the Lord as a result. And so sometimes he brings about difficulties in our life and he watches to see if we’re going to respond to that. And that’s what he’s saying here. Therefore the Lord hath watched upon the evil or the judgment and brought it upon us. For the Lord our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth, for we have not or we obeyed not his voice.

And now, O Lord our God, thou hast brought forth thy people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand. And it’s gotten us, gotten thee renowned as at this day. And we have sinned and we’ve done wickedly. O Lord, according to all thy righteousness I beseech thee, let thy anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city, Jerusalem, and thy holy mountain. Because for our sins and for the iniquities of our fathers Jerusalem and our people are becoming reproach to all that are about us And so we find that he says we have been shamed Because you have taken away our nation you’ve taken away our capital you’ve taken away our temple You have destroyed us in the eyes of our enemies and we have become a reproach to all that are about us for 17 Now, therefore, O Lord our God, hear the prayer of

Thy servant Daniel, and that His supplications and cause Thy face to shine upon Thy sanctuary that is desolate for the Lord’s sake. Thank you for joining us. Good morning. May God bless you in the work Revisited with this radio program. I have a question about God’s righteousness. I hear some preachers say that we will not become righteous until we get to heaven. I thought about Jesus Christ is righteousness is imputed to us at the moment about belief.

Well absolutely and you know those preachers are preaching works if they’re doing that. We are declared righteous at the moment of belief. Second Corinthians 521 is one of my favorite verses that tells us what happened at the cross that God made Christ to be sin for us, Christ who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God and Him. When you trust Christ at that moment, you are declared righteous. Let me give you another one. That was 2 Corinthians 5, 21.

But also, Philippians 3, 9 says, be found in Him, and the last two words say, by faith. Philippians 3, 9, be found in Him by faith. But the middle part of the verse says, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Jesus Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith. So when you place your trust in Christ, you receive the righteousness of God which is by faith and God sees you as a believer as absolutely without sin as though you had never sinned because Christ’s righteousness is your account.

That’s the answer. Yeah, and I don’t know why they try and preach that. I think they might possibly not be saved. There’s an amazing number of ministers in pulpits that do not know Jesus as their Savior. And I’ve talked to many of these. I had a friend of mine that was a pastor in Atlanta and he had another guy that he’d play tennis with the pastor of a large church in Atlanta, Georgia. And my friend said to him, I heard you at the PTA meeting me the night pray, and you didn’t close in the name of Jesus Christ as their reason.

And he said, you know, I don’t believe any of that stuff. He said, this is just a job for me. It’s a profession. And he was ever so shocked to find out his friend confessed that on the tennis court. There are many ministers who do not believe the Bible, do not believe in Jesus Christ. And they obviously are really deceiving people being in the pulpit that way. And some of them, they just don’t know any better. They just not save themselves and they have no message for anybody else.

What do you think of Christ’s name? It’s just that they believe that most people do. You have to work your way to heaven. Well this came from a Baptist minister, and I always shock the hearing. Well, there are some Baptist ministers that may not be saved as well. I don’t keep the lands with a life, but obviously unless they teach that Jesus paid it all, paid it all at the cross and when we trust him we become saved at that moment.

They’re missing what the Bible is teaching and obviously misleading people whether they’re saved or lost. It’s sad that that would happen. But I was raised in church for 18 years and never got the gospel so I can understand how that can happen. Yes. And may I ask you please, Grant Jeffrey, what is it that you noticed about him? He’s a post-tribulation rapture. He believes the church has to go through the tribulation. Like him a lot. other uh… he’s a good researcher good writer but as far as uh…

he puts the uh… i church through the tribulation i believe a rapture dot and don’t go through it at all well i i think i heard him a couple weeks back and he was preaching on uh… the rapture and saying that the church will not go through it well i’m mistaken if that’s the case but i don’t i don’t know don’t call me you know the show on that okay i’ll have that’s what i heard him saying i’ll have to relook it up and see if i can see what is the nation is but he does give out some good stuff all he really does i’ve got a lot of his books and i’ve uh…

gleaned a lot of good stuff from uh… grand jeffrey and you know what i like you best of all called that was you thank you john and uh… thanks for calling in today keep up the work my friend caright we have uh… tony in richman virginia tony welcome to buy one you’re on the air aim i question is that is that the letter heard Is it possible for ministers to write books and to give out literature and do these things that are helpful to a Christian life but they are not safe?

Is that possible? And is it possible for a minister who believes that not going to be ratchered out but that we’re going to go through tribulation? Is it possible for that person? Is it possible that person is saved but they’re just misunderstanding what they’re reading. I’m going to hang up and just listen to your comments. I think you know where I’m coming from on all this stuff. I think that’s entirely possible. Sure. There’s a lot of Christian so-called speakers that are motivational but yet are very helpful but they don’t have, I believe, the gospel.

Joel Olstein, for example, when he was interviewed on The Larry King Live Show, when asked about whether people that didn’t believe in Christ would go to hell. He said, I don’t know. He said, does one have to believe in Christ to go to heaven? He said, I don’t know. He said, I don’t know about 20 times in that program when the believer ought to be able to say, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know. And so he’s very helpful in things about living and he’s a great motivational type speaker, but I believe there’s no real gospel there and there’s no real Bible teaching there.

So you have to just evaluate what–>you’re getting. If you’d like a motivational speaker, but you’re not looking for learning the Bible, then that’s the kind of program you’d go listen to. I think we have a lot of different preachers that are motivational speakers that can encourage you and lift you up in different areas of your life and be helpful to you, but they’re not believers. And even the cults have many good things to say. Satan is very clever. He mixes a little bit of poison in with a lot of good things so that you would be willing to take it.

If I offered you a bottle of poison, you probably wouldn’t take it. But if I made a nice cake with chocolate icing on it and everything else. I stuck some poison in that cake. You’d probably eat the cake and die, but if I just offered you poison, you wouldn’t take it. The devil is clever to be able to do that. He ramps up the poison of a false gospel in a nice cake-like mixture that looks delicious. That’s what he did back in the garden.

He tempted Eve with the beauty of the fruit and told him how delicious it would be and how it would make them wise and and even bought into that. Dr. Hank, I have a friend of mine that would like to ask you a question. Yes, sir. How are you doing, Doug? My question is, in Galatian chapter 5, I’m down at the 17th birthday of the Bible. we were talking about the 17th work for the flesh. In the letter par I say that of all the duty things should not enter in a kingdom heaven.

Can you elaborate on that and give us the information on more about this? I’m going to hang up and listen to you. Okay well sure dude, in Galatians chapter 5, there is talking about a believer living after the Spirit and having the fruit of the Spirit in his life or living after the flesh and having the fruit of the flesh in his life. And it doesn’t say here that those that do those things will not go to heaven. It says those that do those things will not inherit the kingdom of God to inherit eternal life, which is a gift.

You have to be born again and become a member of God’s family and then you become heirs of the inheritance and will be able to enter heaven. And if you notice verse 24 it says, they that are Christ, that’s key. They that are Christ have crucified the flesh with the affections and the lusts. So if you’re a believer, if you are one of Christ, if you’re one of those that are born again, one of those that are saved, you have been crucified together with Christ.

you are sinned by God as though you are righteous because your sins have been paid for past, present, and future, but he’s warning the believer that if you still live after the flesh as a Christian, you’ll have those kinds of disastrous results in your Christian life. And he warns us to not try to think that we can get away with living after our flesh and not reap the results of It says in verse 7 of chapter 6, Don’t be deceived as a Christian.

God is not mocked for whatsoever a man soeth, that shall he also reap. If you sow to the flesh, then you’re going to reap of the flesh corruption. But if you sow to the Spirit, then you’re going to have the consequences of things that will carry on into eternity forever and ever and ever. Whatever we do for Christ now, as we plant what things we want to have in our eternity, if we do things in the Spirit Spirit and in the direction that the Spirit of God who is the author of the Bible tells us to go, we’re going to have rewards in eternity forever.

That’ll be resulted of what we did here. And here Paul is writing to the believer, don’t do the things that really will cause the lost to go to hell. But if you’ve trusted Christ, you have been crucified with him, Galatians 2, 20, and again here in chapter 5 and verse 24. And therefore you’re saved, but you can still have the consequences as far as fruit or rewards in your life that are resulted either from the flesh or from the Spirit.

I sure hope that helps. Thank you, Lou, for calling in with your friend, and we hope that answers a question. But once you’re saved, you’re saved forever, but you can still have some awful consequences in your life. David, after you was saved, committed murder and adultery,Enjoying the Spirit of God., And he paid a price for that, but he was still safe. We hope that you are learning with us as we listen to this question and answer segment featuring Dr.

That’s 1-800-576-3771. Many people teach wrongly that you must be water baptized to be saved. And amazingly, when they try to prove it from the Bible, Many times you go to passages that are not even talking about water baptism.

One of the popular ones is in John chapter 3 in verse 5, where Jesus said, except the man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Well, Jesus here is not talking about water baptism. And what is interesting to me is that people who are indoctrinated with this water baptism being required for salvation read this verse wrong so often that they don’t seem to be able to read it correctly. Isn’t there a tremendous difference between being born and being baptized?

This is not talking about baptism. This is talking about a birth. A birth of water and a birth of the Spirit. And guess what? The birth of water is something that everybody has. When you come into this world, you’re enclosed in a sack of water in your mother’s womb. When the water sack breaks, out you come, and you’re born into this world of the flesh. And you know the context demands that interpretation. Look at the verse before it. Nicodemus said to Christ, how can a man be born?

When he’s old, can he enter the second time where? Into his mother’s womb and be born. He’s clearly talking about the flesh birth, the water birth, the natural birth where the water sack breaks and out you come. Nicodemus says, can How can a man when he’s old be born again? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb and be born? So he obviously was thinking about another flesh birth, like the original one. And Christ says, no, you must be born of water, which is the flesh birth.

And then you need a second birth, which is the birth of the spirit. And in verse 6, this other side of the verse, 5, it says again, it confirms that interpretation that says that which is born of the flesh is flesh, that’s the water birth, that’s the flesh birth, that’s the natural birth, that which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the spirit is spirit. We’re talking about a totally different and new birth of birth that is of the spirit, none of the flesh, but the birth of water here being born of water is the flesh birth.

There’s no doubt about it. Verse four confirms that verse 6 confirms that on either side you have the flesh birth being the water birth that verse 5 is talking about. And so Nicodemus already had the water birth, the flesh birth, the natural birth and that’s why Jesus says in verse 7, marvel not that I said unto thee you must be born what? Again you already had one birth, the water birth, the flesh birth, natural birth, Nicodemus, you need now a second birth, a new birth, you must be born again, and that is the birth of the Spirit.

The way to receive that is in John 3, 16. Jesus is actually witnessing here to Nicodemus, and he says, Nicodemus, for God’s love the world, that means you. That God gave his only begotten son, that’s the Lord Jesus Christ. That Nicodemus, that whosoever, if you Nicodemus would believe or trust in Jesus, it says Nicodemus, you You would not perish, but Nicodemus you would have everlasting life. What a grand verse that all of us have benefited from this conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus where Jesus tells us how to be saved.

You become born again when you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. We could go back to John 1 where we see that in John 1.12. It says to as many as received Him. That is Jesus Christ. is not in what we do, it’s in receiving the person of Christ. Eternal life is not in an organization, a denomination, a set of rules or rituals, but eternal life is in the person of Jesus himself, and it says as many as received him to them gave he power, or God gave authority to become the sons of God.

To them that believe on his name, verse 13 says which were born, which were born. If you leave out the middle part of the verse and go right to the end, says of God, which were born of God. The birth of God occurs when you receive Christ, and the way you receive Christ according to John 1 12 is to believe on his name. The name Jesus is God in flesh who would save you. And when you believe that Jesus is God in flesh, would save you.

Then he went to the cross and paid for your sin by his death and shed blood was buried in rose again for the dead. God saves you and you are granted authority now for you to become his son. You’re born of God. We’re going to rejoin stations that have been on break into the second half hour by one. So don’t go away. Would you like to help Bibleline continue in your area? You can. He’s in Tampa, Florida and Adam, welcome to Bibleline you’re on here.

Yeah, could you explain what the word, um, believer, the trust on Christ means? Absolutely the Greek word for believe and by the way it occurs over 100 times in just the gospel of John over a hundred times of John alone and it comes from the Greek word pustuo P-I-S-T-E-U-O and it means to trust is the best one word definition to rely upon to put your confidence and to rest your weight upon. So, biblical belief is not a sense to facts, which we do have to agree with the facts about Christ and what he has done and so on.

But rather it is trust. I like to say it to Swake. Christ died. That is history. Christ died for me. That is salvation. So in other words, when you believe the historical facts about Christ, that doesn’t save you. You must trust that when Christ died on that cross, He died to pay for your sins, and that He was buried, and then He rose again from the dead. And when a person does that, they become saved. So many people, and before I was saved, I really didn’t have a problem with His historical facts about Christ.

I had been taught that He lived here on the earth, that He went to the cross, and then He died for sins, and He died to pay for the sins of the world, and that He was buried, that exha is again from the dead. I was not taught to trust him. I didn’t learn until I was eighteen that it was his death that purchased my salvation, and if I would trust that Christ did that for me, I would be saved, and that was the difference.

Could you explain what the difference between resting your full weight upon and to surrender when people use the word surrender your life to Christ? Well, surrender your life is, I think, more about the Christian life. I think that’s where Romans 12-1 where it talks to Christians that we should… Paul pleads with us as Christians to yield our lives as a living sacrifice to surrender. I think that has to do with the Christian life, but to rest our weight is just like I’m sitting in a chair right now.

And I’m resting my entire weight on this chair to hold me up off of the floor. And I’m not putting forth any effort at all. I’m just resting in the chair. And to be saved, you just fully rest your weight upon Christ as your only hope of reaching heaven. And you don’t worry about anything else that you haven’t done or what you possibly might do. But you say, Jesus did it all so I can just sit back and relax.

And your salvation is a done thing. It’s a completed thing, an accomplished thing, a finished thing. And that’s what resting is. Do I have time for another question go ahead okay in rote and on John 12 There are people waving the palm branches and they’re saying who’s Anna who is Anna in the highest Did they know what they were saying? And also is it legitimate for us to sing for Zana today? Sure the word of Zen I mean save now and they were saying Save now as he came down the slopes of the Mount of Olives They were appealing to Christ the Messiah to bring about salvation at that point Of course, the religious leaders a few minutes later reject him and they plot to kill him.

He went to the cross and died to pay for your sins and mine. What the crowd cried out for didn’t get accomplished that week because he did come to bring salvation. Zachariah told about that very event, how he would come lowly and meek upon a donkey, upon the fold of an ant’s bringing salvation. Christ brought it, they cried out, saved now to the son of David, which was a messianic title. It turned out that the religious leaders rejected him and he did bring about salvation at that event.

One more question is in Acts 1 when they picked the 12th disciple, in your opinion, do they do something wrong? Jesus told them to wait and not do anything. Absolutely. Peter was out of order, should not have done that. He caused grief for the Apostle Paul. All the rest of his ministry, as Paul had to defend his apostleship because of what Peter did. what Peter did. Many people bought into that as being Matthias being the one. But you don’t read about Matthias, not one more time after that ex-one experience.

He was elected, he was a nice guy. I think you would have enjoyed meeting him or sitting down with him and talking with Matthias. Wonderful guy. But he was not the 12th apostle. Paul was the one that got elected to replace Judas. Thank you so much, Mega. I continue to bless you. All right. Thank you, Adam. And now Now we’re going to go to Tony in Richmond, Virginia, a different one that we had earlier today. Tony, welcome to Bible Life.

Hey, Dr. Lindstrom. Could you explain the verse in Romans about confessing with your mouth? And could you explain the verse where Jesus said to me before men, I will confess you before my father. Hang up in this. Okay. In Romans 10, 9 and 10, it tells us if we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus and believe our heart that got it raised from the dead that you’d be saved. And verse 10 I think explains verse 9, it says with the heart or the mind really you believe it are made righteous.

But then it says confession is made unto salvation. The context on both sides of that verse talks about Christians witnessing and how that we confess Christ after we become saved and confess unto the salvation that we receive. And it says that message that brings about salvation that we confess is in our our mouth. If we’re a believer, it’s inside us. It’s the message that we’ve believed and embraced that we can share with others. And then it goes on to say, how can people be saved unless they hear and how can they hear unless somebody tells them.

And then it says how beautiful are the feet of those which bring this gospel to the lost. And that’s us, the ones that should be confessing Christ after we’re saved to the lost and leading people to Christ. So that’s the answer. And it’s not talking about audible confession being necessary for salvation. And if that were true, then all Deaf Mutes would automatically go to hell. They would not have a chance. And so you’d just say, well, anybody who was born as a Deaf Mute would automatically go to hell too bad, so sad.

No chance for them. That’s not true. Obviously, you can be saved by simply trusting Christ. And we know that in John’s Gospel, Chapter 12, it says many of the Pharisees believed on him, but they did not confess him because they didn’t want to be kicked out of the synagogue. And Jesus said about them. He says they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God. So they were saved, but they obviously didn’t confess Christ. They kept it a secret.

Nicodemus was a secret believer. Nicodemus didn’t come out until later that he was a believer, but Nicodemus came to Christ by night and he secretly believed on Christ as his Savior. The end of passage you’re making reference to is in Matthew 10 and then it’s talking about rewards and And it’s clearly in the context talking about disciples, those who are believers, who are to be witnessing for Christ. And he says in verse 32 of Matthew chapter 10 in verse 32, who, whoever their force will confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven, whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

I believe what it’s talking about and you’ll see the word reward used five times right after that. It’s talking about rewards. If you confess Christ before men, Christ will confess that to the Father and He’s going to reward you. The Father will hand you the rewards one day for your faithfulness. And you know, if you go back to the book of Job, it was God who bragged on Job’s works. God said, there’s nobody like Job. Job was an outstanding Christian.

and he was bragging on him and one day god is going to uh… reward you for whatever faithfulness you’ve had for him but then it says his personal denying me before men all deny him in other words christ cannot say to the father boy This guy has been a wonderful Christian. He’s been faithful. If you haven’t, he’s going to have to deny saying anything. And therefore you’ll suffer the loss of reward. It’s not talking about salvation in Matthew 10.

It’s talking about the topic of reward. And he’s talking about us witnessing fearlessly. It says in verse 28, fear not them which can kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. So we should be fearless realizing that they can kill our bodies, but they can’t kill our soul. We’re going to be in heaven with the Lord, and whatever we’ve done for Christ will bring about rewards in each… Tony, I hope that helps. And I think Tony’s gone.

So thank you very much Tony from Richmond, Virginia to Tony’s from Richmond today calling in. We have Tyrone in Miami, Florida. Tyrone, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Air. How you doing? I’m Dr. Hank. I am. I have a question on John 3 18. You said that it’s supposed to say he didn’t believe it on Christ. It says he didn’t believe it on him. Christ is referring to himself there. And if you read the context in verse 16, for God’s love of the world that he*=- gave is}: only begotten son.

That’s the one that is the hymn in that verse. He didn’t believe it on him. God’s only begotten son. That’s the one who will not perish. The one that will have everlasting life. The one is that is not condemned. And then clearly in verse 18 of the last phrase, he is condemned who does not believe because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. It’s talking about Christ. Okay, so the Bible, the King James Version Bible that I have, it will be other Bibles that leave Christ and leave out some of the verses.

You wouldn’t happen to have to be able to obtain that information? Well certainly you can and we have some sheets, articles that are written that you can have for free. But we also have a wonderful book called New Age Bible Versions that goes through about twenty of the most popular versions today and shows you what has been done, what has been deleted and how you need to be alert. So you could call and order those things. The articles will be free but the book is I think about twenty dollars plus shipping.

That’s about an 800 page book. That is really a valuable tool. And it’s a Bible study in itself because it covers the major doctrines of the Bible that God had the deity of Christ, salvation by faith, heaven, hell, and many more doctrines, and shows you how they’re affected by these new translations and why it’s important to have a good translation in your hand. Okay. Okay. So the same number when you get off the air, I can call this same number back and get that information?

We can. Okay, then. Thank you very much. Thank you, Tyron. It was Tyron down in my Emmy forlips. This wraps up today’s question and answer segment about the Bible featuring Dr. Hank Lindstrom. We hope that you have enjoyed it and that you are growing in your knowledge about the Word of God. Verse 17, Now therefore O Lord our God, hear the prayer of thy servant Daniel and that his supplications and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate for the Lord’s sake. O Lord, incline your ear and hear open your eyes and behold our desolations and the city which is called by your name.

For we do not present our supplications before the for our righteousnesses but for thy great mercies. It isn’t that the way we’re saved. We don’t appeal on the basis of our good deeds and our righteousnesses, but on the basis of his mercy through Christ. And here Daniel’s appealing that he might forgive them even though they were disobedient. Verse 19, O Lord, here O Lord forgive O Lord hearken and do defer not for thy own sake, O my God, for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.

So he appeals to God and to his mercy and to his righteousness to restore them. Verse 20. While I was speaking and praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God which is Jerusalem. Yay, while I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel. Here’s the angel Gabriel coming out of Daniel to answer this prayer. And that fantastic. So God does here and He does answer prayer.

He doesn’t always send Gabriel to answer the prayer. It wouldn’t be something if you have your….. next prayer and all of a sudden Gabriel appears and says, I’m here to give you the answer. But it says here even the man Gabriel whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning being caused to fly swiftly touched me about the time of the evening oblation. That is the evening sacrifice which would occur at three in the afternoon. He informed me and talked with me and said, O Daniel, and now come forth to give these skill and understanding At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth God told me go tell Daniel what’s happening here And I’m come to show you because what you’re greatly beloved Therefore understand the matter and consider the vision so here Daniel was greatly beloved of God and God says

I’m going to tell you what’s happening here and explain it to you and so he says here consider the vision verse 24 and Now he takes the 70 weeks that Jeremiah the prophet had prophesied about and now expands it into a greater prophecy that encompasses all that God is going to do until Jesus is ruling here on this earth. 70 weeks are determined upon thy people. Now he’s thinking in terms of years. Remember in verse 2 he’s reading Jeremiah and about the prophecy of 70 years.

Now this is a vision of 70 weeks of years. So 70 times seven. The word weeks there really simply means seven. They could be seven anything really, seven loaves, seven rocks, seven hills, seven, whatever. But it turns out in the context to be 70 weeks of seven years or 490 years are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city. Now Daniel’s people were the Jewish people and the holy city was the city of Jerusalem and here Gabriel tells him that when these seventy times seventy years or four and nine years are up then all of prophecy will have been fulfilled.

Notice there are six things mentioned here. Number one, to finish the transgression. Number two, to make an end of sins. Number three, to make reconciliation for iniquity. Number four, to bring an everlasting righteousness. the seal of division and prophecy number six to anoint the most holy so there are six things and some of them were fulfilled in the first coming of Christ and others still are yet to be fulfilled in the second coming of Christ and now what he says is no therefore to understand that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Messiah shall be and he tells him how to start counting the prophecy off so we find here that when the seven years of captivity were over, that Daniel was told when the commandment is given to allow the Jewish people to go back to Jerusalem and rebuild the city and the temple, start

counting the prophecy and start counting the years that I’m telling you about. So really over here there is a commandment given. allow the Jews under Cyrus, he allowed them to go back and rebuild the temple. Cyrus gave that command and they went back and they were to count now 69 sevens of years. What would happen? The Messiah would come. Let’s read it. It says, from the commandment to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Messiah, notice it says here, until the Messiah of the Prince shall be seven weeks and three score in two weeks.

Well, seven plus three score is 60 plus two, that’s 69 weeks. So 69 times seven is 483 years. There’d be 483 years and the Messiah would come. But this was a prophecy not to the birth of Christ, but to his death. And it says in verse 26, after the three score in two weeks, which were already added to seven weeks of years, shall Messiah what? Be cut off. But not for Himself. Why did He die? The pay for the sins of the world.

Here is the most incredible prophecy. If you didn’t have any other, this would be enough to… He was very convincing that the Bible is the word of God because if you read the note here and we’re not going to go through this, but it turns out to be the very day that Christ comes to die for you and me took place exactly 483 years after the commandment was given to restore and rebuild Jerusalem. A former head of Scotland Yard in England.

So Robert Anderson, a Christian, consulted the royal astronomy astronomers of Britain and calculated the date when the Because if you read the note here and we’re not going to go through this, but it turns out to be the very day that Christ comes to die for you and me took place exactly 483 years after the commandment was given to restore and rebuild Jerusalem. A former head of Scotland Yard in England. So Robert Anderson, a Christian, consulted the royal astronomy astronomers of Britain and calculated the date when the commandment was when the command was given to restore and rebuild Jerusalem.

You can read the story in Ezra and in Nehemiah and there are excellent notes in the Scofield Bible about that command and their attempt to rebuild it. And we find that he computed the days to when Christ came to die, and he says it turns out to be the very day, exactly to the day, 483 years. I remember discovering this prophecy as a brand new believer, and I got so excited. said, wow, you know, this book has to be written by God.

Who in the world could have ever foretold the date of Christ’s first coming almost 500 years in advance to the day? Obviously God is the author of this book. And then it tells us the Messiah would be cut off. Isaiah says, cut off out of the land of the living. It speaks of his death. The next phrase says, but not for himself. And then it says, the people of the prince that shall come, which I believe it was the Antichrist, the people that the Antichrist would come out of would destroy the city and the sanctuary when did that happen?

Because Christ was rejected in 8070 the Romans came and it destroyed Jerusalem and the temple. And so here it talks about the destruction of Jerusalem after they’ve gone back and rebuilt it, how it would be destroyed again in a temple that they would rebuild, which was the second Temple later known as Heron’s Temple because he refurbished it, but that temple was destroyed, that city was destroyed in 8070 by the Romans. Here is a powerful question to ask of any Jewish person.

Daniel the Prophet says the Messiah would be here before the destruction of Jerusalem in the temple. It’s still without a temple today from that destruction in 8070. Every Jew knows that the Romans did that in 8070. The Messiah according to Daniel would be He here before the destruction of the temple and the city of Jerusalem in 8070. Who do you think could have possibly been the Messiah that was here before the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple? And I do a little countdown music and drum roll and give a few seconds to try to guess at the answer.

There’s only one that could possibly fulfill the scriptures. Jesus alone. Thanks for listening to Bible Eye and with Dr. Hank Lindstrom. That wraps up another edition for today. Be sure to tune in to another edition of Bibleline from Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida. When you believe that Jesus is God and flesh, who would save you? Then he went to the cross and paid for your sin by his death and shed blood was buried and rose again for the dead. God saves you and you are granted authority now for you to become his son.

You’re born of God. Verse 13 says, this is not a birth of blood. So we’re not talking about a blood relationship. I’ve talked to people in the past and I’ve said, are you going to go to heaven when you die? And they’ll say, well, my uncle was a preacher. So, why? wonderful unclad that you had an uncle that#### a preacher. Somehow they think because they’re related to a preacher that may be there on the inside track to get into heaven.

This has nothing to do with a blood relationship. If your dad is a preacher, doesn’t get you into heaven. If your uncle’s a preacher, that didn’t get you into heaven. It doesn’t getDepths in heaven because you must personally trust Jesus Christ as the one who died for you. The next phrase here in verse 13 of John chapter 1 says, nor is it a birth of the will of the flesh. In other words, it’s not something that you can will improbably to have happened.

You might sit there and maybe concentrate and say, I want to go to heaven, I want to go to heaven,Cooldown I want to go to heaven, Kuala heaven, and guess what frivolion,FAULTion can’t bring about the new birth and it will not get you to heaven and you’ll not go to heaven unless you, in his name. That Jesus is Yeshua or God who would save you. God who took on flesh. When you trust him the Bible says then you become born again.

Notice also it says here in John 1.13 this is not a birth that is a result of the will of man. There is no authority, no preacher, no rabbi, no minister that can decree salvation for you or for me or offer the forgiveness of sins to you or me, accepting through the gospel message and trusting Jesus Christ as Savior. When I share the gospel message and someone believes that message, God saves them. And the Bible says to as many as received Christ, God gave authority, power for them to become the sons of God, then it says to them that believe that means trust on His name, that they trust that Jesus Christ is that Savior.

And it says then which were born of God. They’re born of God, they’re born of God, they’re born of God, John 3 16 is Jesus explaining to Nicodemus how to be born again. That is a new birth, it’s a spiritual birth. It is separate and different from the natural birth. If you are only born once, that is the physical flesh birth that we all have when we come into this world. Nicodemus already had it when Jesus had this conversation with Nicodemus and John 3.

If you only have that when you’ll die twice. The Bible talks about physical death and the eternal death of being cast into the lake of fire as the consequences for our sin. And so if you’re only born once, you would experience physical death and the eternal death, which according to Revelation 20, it says they were cast into the everlasting lake of fire. This is the second death. The first death being the separation of your soul from your body, the second death being the separation of your soul from God in hell forever.

But if you’re born again, if you’re born twice, if you’re born of the flesh and then you’re born of the Spirit by trusting Jesus Christ as your Savior, you’ll only die once. The Bible tells us that the believer in Christ will not be hurt of the second death. The believer in Christ will not be hurt of the second death. In other words, the believer in Christ will never go to hell. It really is an eternal security point. The Bible says, if you have trusted Christ and you’ve been born again, you’ll never be hurt by the second death.

You’ll never be cast into hell. All believers are exempted from hell. And guess what? You may be in a group that will never die at all. You might be exempted from physical death as well. Those that are living when Christ comes back at the Rapture will never die even physically. So you might be in that group. I believe we’re close enough so that if you’re a believer right now, it could be that you you won’t die physically, you’ll be just transformed as you are caught up to meet the Lord in the air at the rapture and then be forever with the Lord and you’ll never be cast in the eternal life of fire.

God bless, keep looking up, Jesus is coming and we believe He’s coming soon. You’ve been listening to Bibleline, a presentation of Bibleline Ministries of Tampa, Florida.
