Now open your Bible to the book of Revelation chapter 2 and join us for Dr. Lynchton’s teaching for today. In the second and third centuries, there were ten distinct periods of persecution under ten separate Roman emperors. It could mean that. word days here just means a period of time.
So there would be 10 periods of persecution. But also the very last persecutor, the Roman Emperor Diocletian, persecuted more fiercely than any other the Christian church and believers. And his intense persecution where he boasted that he was going to eradicate Christianity from the planet, he got scriptures and burned them and said he was going to destroy the word of God and destroy all believers on the planet and went at it with all the strength it might be had being a Roman emperor and his persecutions lasted 10 years.
So maybe the Bible is focusing in on that last 10 years of Diocletian who persecuted Christians. You know right after that constant team came along and he reversed it. He declared the world to become Christian and now the Christians were no longer persecuted and then they were applauded which seemed to be worse for them than having the persecution because of the compromise that came into the church as a result. What we find here that he said you’ll have tribulation in 10 days.
Maybe that’s what it’s referring to. Then it says, be thou faithful unto death and I’ll give thee a crown of life. This is one of five crowns that the believer can earn. I have a sheet in the back getting your crown where I enumerate the five crowns. But this is a crown that’s called a martyr’s crown. If you’re martyred for your faith, you can be assured that you’re going to receive this particular crown. In James chapter 1 it also mentions it as the person who endures suffering or tribulation.
So if you suffer tribulation for your witness, I believe you can also be eligible to receive this crown. A martyr’s crown, the sufferer’s crown, and James talks about happy as the man who endures testings or trials because he’s going to receive this same crown, the crown of life, offered to those that suffer or are martyred for their faith. Verse 11, He that hath an ear, now here again we need spiritual hearing to hear what God the Spirit of God is saying.
To He that hath an ear let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. That’s the Holy Spirit, a message for us who are members of the body of Christ in this age. And look at what he says, he did overcome it. Who is an overcomer? Market in your margin somewhere so you haven’t. In overcomers a believer, I memorize those verses there. So powerful. First John 5, 4 says, whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world. And this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
And then verse 5 says, who is he that overcometh the world? Answer, he that believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. So a believer is an overcomer. Can you recite those? Those are great. Put them in the margin at least to know that a believer is a believer. What does it say? He that overcometh shall not be heard of what? The second death. The second death, according to Revelation 20 verse 14, is to be cast into the eternal hell, the eternal lake of fire.
What does this verse say? This verse is saying, if you are a believer, you will never go to hell. If you’re a believer, you will never go to hell. You’ll never be hurt of the second death. Isn’t that great news? That’s exactly what it’s saying. The second death, Revelation 14 says, Hades and death were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And so we’ll never be hurt of the second death. The believer will never experience that.
The picture of that in Daniel where the three friends of Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow at the image of Nebuchadnezzar when they would play the music. And so the king became so infuriated that him. He ordered this furnace to be heated seven times hotter than it ever had been heated and they cast them into this furnace alive. You remember the story. And when Nebuchadnezzar looked, he said, didn’t we cast three into the fire? They said, yes, O king.
And the king says, I see four, the fourth like end of the Son of God. Jesus Christ was in the fire with him. And what happened? They weren’t burned. Their clothes weren’t burned. He was not even a smell of smoke upon their clothing. And what is the answer to all that? It’s basically that Christians don’t burn. So don’t try to burn them. If you’re a believer, you’ll never go to hell. You can say right now, I’m never going to go to hell.
And that’s absolutely the promise of the Holy Spirit to you. The Holy Spirit says, if you have an ear to hear it, if you’re an overcomer, that is your believer. He says, you’re never going to burn in hell. You’ll never be hurt of the second death. That’s worth the whole course right there. Just stop right here and say, I’m never gonna go to hell. I’m never gonna go to hell. The Holy Spirit said that if you’re a believer, if you’re an overcomer, you’ll never be hurt of the second death.
You’ll never be cast into the eternal lake of fire. That’s gotta be some really good news. Isn’t that great? I love to be able to tell people. I’m not gonna ever be in hell because God has promised that the believer will never be hurt of the second death. That includes everybody here. I hope everybody here is believed on Christ as Savior. So if you have, you are safe. Now go to verse 12 and we have the church at Pergamos, a picture of the fourth century church probably down to at least maybe the eighth century.
There is no exact line sometimes where they cut off. But the fourth century church is described here and it says the angel of the church to the angel, a messenger, the pastor, the teacher, the communicator of the church in Pergamos right. These things say a thing that hath a sharp sword with two edges. This is Christ, and he has a message for each church, but this one is a little stronger message. He takes out that sword of the Word of God and has a rebuke for this particular church, and he says, I know thy works, verse 13, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan’s seat is.
Wow. Satan’s throne. Satan obviously is not omnipresent but is located in one particular locale and apparently down through time he has taken up residence in different places. And here at this particular time in history apparently he was resident at Pergibus and he says, I know that works and where the dwellers even where Satan’s seat is. What happened here is in 316, Constantine came along. In 321 AD he saw a formation in the sky in the clouds in the form of a cross.
And he interpreted that to mean that in this sign you’ll conquer the world, which he took to be Christianity. And so he declared all of a sudden the whole world to become Christian. And you might have thought, wow, that’s a nice thing. Christians were persecuted now for several hundred years and killed and martyred for their faith. Now the pressure comes off. What happens now is that paganism doesn’t go away, but now it becomes incorporated in the church and all of a sudden we have the beginning of false doctrines coming into Christianity with Constantine.
The church, while it was persecuted, was strong. People were willing to die for their faith and many were martyred for their faith in in the second and third centuries. But now everybody was a Christian. The pressure was off and it really became a way that Satan was very able to bring Christianity down in that it became ineffective and a lot of things that you and I believe were polluted with bad doctrine. So all of a sudden everything is Christian now.
Well, I didn’t mean to cut paganism went away. We know that a lot of things were incorporated and it really takes us all the way back to Satan and what he did early back in the book of Genesis. Back there in the book of Genesis in chapter 10, there was a wicked man about the time of the Tower of Babel. His name was Nimrod. Nimrod was called a hunter of souls, perhaps a man that Satan greatly used to hunt down and keep people captive from knowing the truth about Christ.
His wife was worse. His wife was named Simoramis. Her name is still around today in the Middle East and around the world, and she was more wicked than he. She founded a religious system that sent and run herself and supposedly her virgin-born son. We believe a counterfeit of Christ. And that son was named Tamuz. And Tamuz is found in Scripture. We’ll show you his name in just a moment in the Old Testament. But the Tower of Babel, when God confounded the languages, the nations were begun out of Iraq.
And along with them went this religious system that was begun there at the tower of Babel. And wherever it went, the system was the same, but the names changed. So it was the worship of a mother and her son, and in Egypt it was the worship of Ices and Horus. In Italy it was the worship of Venus and Cupid. In Greece it was the worship of Aphrodite and Uros. And in Israel it was the worship of Astroth and Bail.
And this was the worship of a mother and her son. And supposedly the son was virgin-born. He was a counterfeit of Jesus, and that system is with us today. When Constantine declared the world to become Christian, the mother became married, and the baby became Jesus. And so you still see the statues and the worship of a mother and her son. And the baby never really winds up growing up. He’s always cradled in the arms of his mother, or standing at his side as a young boy.
The woman is the one who is the spokesperson and is prominent, whereas the child is somewhat silent and unable to do very much as a child. Thank you for joining us. Lindstrom answering questions from callers. We’re going to Tampa, we’re going to talk to Rose Marie. I think I did that right. Hello. Welcome. Good morning. Good morning. And how are you today? I’m fine. Thank you. And you. I’m doing just great. Good. I enjoy your program and I’ve been trying to get on there for a week. Anyway, now I am on. I would like to know if you could explain Matthew 1930 to me. It is for many who are first shall be last and the last shall be first.
That’s not exactly what it says, but that’s the context of it. All right, I believe there are a couple of possible meanings. One is that those of the Old Testament age are gonna wind up being last. And we’re gonna be first, in other words, the church age began at Pentecost and ends at the rapture. All of us who are believers of this age we’ll get our resurrection bodies and get our rewards at the rapture or what is called the judgment seat of christ but the old testament saints they have to uh…
wait until the last seven years of the old testament tick off the clock which are the seven years of tribulation will follow the rapture and the resurrection of the old testament saints and the tribulation saints uh… occur seven years after we get our resurrection bodies and we get our rewards. So we’re really the the late guys on the block and yet we become first in the resurrection first in getting our rewards. Whereas the ones that were first all of the Old Testament Saints We’ll have to wait until seven years later than us to get their resurrection bodies.
So I’ll get my resurrection body seven years before Noah, before Isaiah, Jeremiah, or David, or any of the Old Testament saints. I’ll get my resurrection body seven years earlier. So I’m really going to get mine first, even though I was last. Is that the cause of the Holy Ghost? The Holy Spirit comes in this age to indwell every believer permanently. That’s the uniqueness of this age. This is an age where God has turned to the Gentile. It began at Pentecost and will end at the Rapture and all of us who have come on after the Old Testament saints will get our resurrection bodies first.
Okay. Thank you. All right. Thank you, Rose Marie. You know, one of the most amazing things is that most of those who call themselves Christians are not. You know, they have bought into the counterfeit. Religion cannot save. The word religion comes from two Latin words, re and legio, and it means to do something of self to bind back to God. Let me say that again. The word religion comes from two Latin words, re and legio, and it means to do something of self to bind back to God.
And all religions have that common denominator that man can do something of himself to bind himself back to God. And the Bible teaches the opposite. The Bible teaches that God does for men what man could not do for himself. The Bible is the exact opposite of religion. That’s why I don’t like the term religion. I don’t like to say that I am religious because religion is based upon man, binding himself back to God. Whereas God says that because man fell and he is not capable of binding himself back to God, that God himself would come to the earth and take on human flesh in the person of Christ and all that would trust in him and his finished work at the cross, that Christ himself would reconcile us to himself, that we’re reconciled to God by the death of his Son, not by anything that you or
I would do of ourselves. It says in 2 Corinthians 5, 18, one of dozens of verses, but it says, All things are of God who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ. That’s all heavenward. He hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ. Where’s your part? to receive it by faith. It says in verse 19 of 2 Corinthians 5, to it, or that is to say that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, reconciling the world unto himself.
That’s the beautiful story of the gospel. You know, we’re considered according to the Bible, enemies of God prior to our salvation. Aliens separated from God, condemned, and headed for hell, no hope, but God made provision in Christ so that He could reconcile us to Himself by Jesus Christ. Tons of verses. And when it talks about reconciliation, that’s what it’s talking about. I was talking to a Sunday school teacher and he said his lesson was on reconciliation and he spent the whole time talking about how those in the class ought to get reconciled one to another.
And they were quoting the verses I’m quoting here. They certainly missed the picture. God is the one who reconciles us, his enemy, to himself through Jesus Christ. Salvation is a gift. And what we have out there, not only are religions, and there are many of them, and all of them will not get you to heaven because they’re all based upon human works. They’re all based upon man doing something of himself to bind himself back to God. And so they cannot save, and they are man-made, Satan inspired for sure.
But we also have what we call the Christian religion, which is the counterfeit of Christianity. And I would say the majority of that, which is called Christianity, is the counterfeit. It’s the Christian religion, which is Christianity that claims that you are reconciled to God by the deeds that you do. And again, that’s contrary to the Bible. It says clearly in 2 Corinthians chapter 5 where we were just looking that God reconciles us to himself by Jesus Christ. And so the Christian religion, and that’s what I was raised with.
I was confirmed. I was baptized. I was homogenized. I was pasteurized. I was capsized. If you name it, I probably did it. But I was ever saved. I was always counting on the fact that I was going to be good enough to earn my way to heaven. Gaining new heights every day, I was on my upward way. I was really, really confused by this whole picture that was presented. I was told as a little boy Jesus wanted me for a sunbeam.
So I tried to be a sunbeam. I really wasn’t too sure how to do that, but… You ever saw something in that song about Jesus once you first sunbeam? Well anyway, maybe if you weren’t raised in church you don’t know what I’m talking about, but I was raised in church and everybody out there that’s listening today that has been raised in church probably has heard that concept. Well anyway, I tried to be a sunbeam. By the way, none of that can save you and that’s why the Bible teaches that Christ needed to come and die on the cross of Calvary so that He might redeem us, that He might reconcile us and He’s the one who does it and not ourselves.
If you attempt to add any works to the plan and salvation, you have got the wrong message, and it’s a message that will not save. The Bible is quite clear that there’s nothing you and I could ever do to redeem ourselves. The Bible says the price of redemption is beyond what we could pay. We would never be able to pay the price. That’s why Jesus Christ had to come. Only His death on our behalf could provide for us everlasting life.
I’m talking about it, it’s very, very serious because you know it’s amazing how those who are lost, get religious, think they’re saved and they talk about how wonderful they are. Some say that they live without sin and that’s how they’re going to get in. Again, that is salvation based upon self, that man is trying to do something of himself to bind back to God. So you can try to live without sin. But guess what? Even if I could get everybody on the planet Earth to stop sinning at this very moment and from now on, you’d still go to hell because you’ve already sinned and come short of the glory of God.
You’re already condemned and only Christ can bring about eternal life and the Bible tells us that that eternal life is in Christ Himself, that He is life. You know John in 1 John talks about Christ being himself Christ being life and eternal life. He says in verse 3 of 1 John chapter 1, that which we have seen and heard declare we unto you that you may also have fellowship with us. And what he says in the previous verse was, for the life was manifested, made known, revealed.
And the life he’s talking about here is Christ himself, who is God, who took on human flesh. And he says, we have seen it in bear witness and show unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested unto us. Notice, Christ is called life. Jesus also said that. He said, I am the life and the resurrection. I am the resurrection and the life. John 14-6 he said, I am the way, the truth, and the life.
And here John calls Jesus life manifested and he calls him eternal life. Well guess what? The Bible says that eternal life is in Christ. He’s the source of life. You know everything living comes forth from life. And God is that source of life that has brought life to everything that lives in the universe. And it says in 1 John 511, this is the record that God has given to us eternal life. And this life is in his son. Christ is God.
Christ is life. He’s the source of life. He is eternal life. And if you want to have eternal life, you must have him. And it says in 1 John 512, he that has the son half life. And he that has not the son of God, half not life. If you have Christ, you have life. If you don’t have Christ, you don’t have life. So eternal life is not in anything that you or I do. Eternal life is in the person of Christ, and when you receive Him by faith, you then possess Christ, and therefore you possess eternal life.
And God says He has written in verse 13 of this chapter, first John 5, these things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life. So in verse 12, it says, if you have the Son, you have life, and in verse 13, it says, you can know that you have eternal life. And in 1 John 1 2 John said life was manifested or made known, revealed in the person of Christ.
And he goes on to point out that that life was eternal life and that life was Christ. And those that have Christ have life and those that don’t have Christ do not have life. And if you have life, you have eternal life. If you have Christ the Son. If you’ve trusted Him as your Savior. We hope that you’re learning with us. We’re going to turn to our Bibles now and we’re going to go to Matthew 24 and Jesus says in verse 15, when you therefore shall see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet stand in the holy place. Who’s so read it to let him understand? Well, first of all, there is no holy place today on the temple mount in Jerusalem and so this could not be fulfilled right now. But we know that after the rapture, which could happen at any time, I believe we’re getting very close, when the Lord will come and snatch out all the believers, will meet him in the air, and will be transformed into our new bodies on the way up, and will be forever with the Lord.
When that happens, then on the earth, a third temple is going to be rebuilt. And we know that all the preparations have already been made ready for that. The of the bones of Him cut, the garbards of the priesthood have been made, the implements for worship have been established. We’re right there. And it says here that the Antichrist will place an image of himself in that third temple. And it says here when you see that, then that marks the difference here in what is going to happen during the tribulation period.
This happens, we know midway. How do we know it happens midway? Well, I’m going to tell you while we know what happens midway if you turn to the book of Daniel Daniel talks about the same event And he talks about in chapter 9 of Daniel the end of Christ and how the end of Christ will Make a treaty with Israel and allow them to offer sacrifices in their temple again on the temple mount in Daniel 927 it says and he the antichrist shall confirm the covenant with many I believe that’s the many Jews that are back in the state of Israel right now.
And so here it says that he the Antichrist will confirm the covenant with many, many of the many Jews that are back in the state of Israel for one week of years. That is the seven years of tribulation that we often talk about. And then it says in the midst of the week, that’s dead center right in the middle of the week or three and a half years into the tribulation period, the Antichrist will cause the sacrifice and the oblation to stop.
So he will interrupt the sacrifices that will have been offered since the beginning of the tribulation right after the rapture and he will cause them to cease. He will then enter into that third temple and desecrate it and place his image there and that’s what we’re reading about in Matthew chapter 24. And we find that there’s a key word there in verse 15. It says, when you therefore shall see. When is the time word? And then you’ll find several other words linked to that in the context here.
Verse 16 it says, then, and in verse 21 it says, then, in verse 9 it says, then, and the thens are connected to the when, and if you will read carefully when the Antichrist places his image in the third temple, that’s right in the middle of the seven year period, then several things will happen. It says, then those which be in Judea, that’s the area around Jerusalem, shall flee into the mountains. And of course that means they’re going to have to run for their lives because the Antichrist will now turn on the Jewish people.
We also learn from verse 9, it says, then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted and shall kill you. So Jewish people are going to be slaughtered and it says here, and you’ll be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. So right in the middle of the tribulation period, when the Antichrist goes into the third temple and desecrates it and places his abomination, his image in that temple. It’s an instruction to those who are reading the Bible, who are believers, in that time to run for their lives.
And guess where they’ll run to the mountains? That’s over to Jordan, where there is a rock city prepared for the Jews to hide and their God will miraculously feed them and care for them during the tribulation period. It says Here’s verse 21, and here’s another then. There’s then, then, then here in connection with the when of verse 15 in Matthew 24. And it says, and then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, then nor shall ever be.
In other words, if you look back in history, you’ll never find the time as bad as this seven years will be. And if you look to the future after this time, there’ll never be another time like it again. So the darkest time in history is yet ahead of us. I’m glad I’m leaving at the Rapture. And it could be that the Lord would come this year. It would not be something. In any case, we know that this will be a time when the Jewish people will come under the attack of the Antichrist.

Now let’s return to our question and answer segment And then we’ll hear more Bible teaching from Dr. Hank Lynchstrom. The woman is the one who is the spokesperson and is prominent, whereas the child is somewhat silent and unable to do very much as a child. Let’s go back. As this impacted Israel, we’re going to go back to the book of Judges for just a moment.
And in Judges, which by the way is the seventh book of your Bible, Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Did the Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, Judges, Chapter 2, we find that Israel, when she came into the Promised Land under Joshua, encountered these other nations that were entrenched in his false religious system which really went around the world. In Judges, Chapter 2, we find in verse 8 that Joshua, the son of none, the one who was an In the apprentice of Moses, the one who led the children of Israel from the wilderness across the Jordan into the Promised Land.
It says in verse 8, Joshua, the son of none, the servant of the Lord died, being a hundred andUpdated, ten years old. They buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnath Heres in the Mount of Ephrym on the north side of the hill Gaiosh. And also all that generation were gathered under their fathers and catch this in the middle And there arose another generation after them which knew not the Lord, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel.
So a whole new generation comes up that’s unsaved. They don’t know the Lord. Joshua dies and that generation died and a new generation comes up. And of course, God intended that every generation would be responsible for their generation and pass the gospel to the next. But here, as it has happened many times in history, it didn’t get passed along. a whole generation comes up that didn’t know the Lord. You might mark that in the middle verse 10. Verse 11, and the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord and served Balaam.
Now Balaam is the plural form for Bala and just like the I am ending on Cherubim, Seraphim, the I am ending is a way of letting us know it’s plural. Even on Elohim, the I am ending, meaning God’s name is plural, and that God is three or more. And obviously we know that speaks of the Godhead being three in the word that is used over 2,500 times Elohim in the Old Testament. So here we have the worship of Baelim, which is Baal, and all the other associated gods and idols that came along with that whole system of worshiping Baal.
They forsook verse 12, the Lord, God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt and followed other gods, not only Baal. The gods of the people who were round about them and they bowed themselves under them and provoked the Lord to anger. And look at verse 13 and get ready with your pen. They forsook the Lord and served Baal and Astraoth. And Astraoth is the mother of Baal, the short form of Astraoth, rather as Astra and the English form is Easter.
And so it’s still with us to this very day. I tell people don’t use the E word in the spring, but use the R word, because why would you celebrate Easter? Easter is the name of a sex goddess. Easter is the mother of Baal. And certainly we don’t want to worship her. And I tell people we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ again from the dead. But this was a system that got weighed into Christianity, and so we still have these terms.
In fact, that’s why you have money around it, so that’s why you have eggs and so on. It speaks of sex and fertility. Has nothing to do with Christ at all. It was pagan from the get-go and was wed into Christianity and has nothing to do with it. And every spring, people talk about celebrating Easter. I have an article back there, Easter is the mother of Baal, and you might want to look at it. But look at what God felt about that in verse 14, and the anger of the Lord was what?
Hot against Israel. Do you think God has changed his mind? Do you think he’s mellowed out? Since then, I don’t think so. I think God is just as angry today when we worship false gods and goddesses And that is, of course, the false system that got wet and decryshity a long time ago. Many times as we approach the spring, I’ll go out, and somebody will say, happy Easter. And I’ll say back in response, happy resurrection. You know, the word Easter has no power, but I notice people visibly are jolted when I say back happy resurrection.
There’s something powerful about the resurrection, about the fact that Christ rose from the dead. And I love to be able to do that. Somebody will say, Happy East, and I’ll say Happy Resurrection. You’ll see them just almost jolt back in a great opportunity to give a track or maybe have a word of conversation with that person. But this is what was going on. And that system of the worship of a mother and her son came down through history and is now seen most prominently in the Roman Catholic Church, where Mary and her son are the stars.
And you’ll find that she has given titles that belong to Simramis or Aseroth. Mary is called the Queen of Heaven, the Queen of the Universe. You’ll see paintings where there’s these crown of stars around her head, wherever you go. And that is a false title. Mary was a wonderful godly woman who in faith believed God, that she would marry the flesh that God would take upon himself. But she’s not the Queen of Heaven. She’s not as the Roman Catholic teaches the co-redemptress with Christ that she shared in our redemption and nor is she to be prayed to.
She’s not the mediator, but they teach that she also is a mediator. There’s only one mediator, first Timothy 2.5, that’s Jesus. One mediator, one God and one mediator between man and God, the man Christ Jesus, first Timothy 2.5. So all of that has crept into Christianity. And God was very upset as it was introduced into Israel. I want you to go down with me to Ezekiel for just a moment, and we’re going to go to Ezekiel chapter 8. And we can’t cover the entire chapter here.
But Ezekiel was one of the prophets of the captivity. What does that mean? God brought Nebuchadnezzar against the temple there and destroyed it and carried him away captive into Babylon. And Ezekiel was one of those men along with Daniel. It was carried away into Iraq. And there he was captive during the reign of Nebuchadnezzar. Ezekiel was in northern Iraq, whereas Daniel was down in the capital of Babylon in more southern Iraq. Well, according to this chapter, Ezekiel was in his living room discussing things with the elders of one of the tribes of Israel.
And all of a sudden the Spirit of God came upon Ezekiel and he was transported from Iraq to Jerusalem and he was transported back in time. And so he does time travel backwards. John the Apostle in the book Revelation is transported into the future. We said he was in the Spirit in the day of the Lord. So he was taken all away in the future and was in eyewitness of the things that are going to be unfolded in the future and writes them for us in the book of Revelation.
Ezekiel got to do both and he got to go backwards. And God said to Ezekiel, I want to show you why I judged Israel. I want to show you why I removed them from their land and put them back in Iraq for a while. I want to show you why I destroyed the city of Jerusalem and the temple there, using Nebuchadnezzar to do that. And so we’re going to turn to that particular portion which applies to what we’re studying today.
And it says in verse 13, he said to Ezekiel, verse 13 of chapter 8 of Ezekiel, turn the yet again and thou shall see greater abominations that they do. He says, I want you to see. Takes him back in time, takes him from Iraq to Jerusalem. He sees the temple standing before it was destroyed and says here, I want you to see what they’re doing. Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the Lord’s house. That’s the temple.
The temple was destroyed and when Ezekiel was carried away, he was in his living room and And the temple had already been destroyed, and he was in Iraq, but now he’s traveling back through time and also traveling from Iraq to Jerusalem to see the temple before it was destroyed. And what did he see? Then he brought me back to the door of the gate of the Lord’s house or the temple which was toward the north, and behold there’s that women weeping for what?
Tamoos. That was the son of Simoramas, Nimrod’s wife’s so-called virgin-born son, and they were weeping for him. Now let me tell you the story. The story is… It goes two possible ways. That Temuz was gored in a hunting accident while a wild boar. One tradition says that he almost died and the other says that he died. But basically the people wept and they prayed to all their heathen gods for 40 days. And then Temuz was restored to them, a counterfeit of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Now, that was for 40 days, and by the way, that is the groundwork for Lent. There is no Lent in your Bible. There might be Lent, L-I-N-T, but there is no Lent in your Bible. Lent is this observing of weeping and fasting that began here for Tamuz. That wraps up to these questions and answers segment. As believers in Jesus, there is no other topic that is more important to us than the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and it was Dr.
Hank Lindstrom’s mission to spread the gospel. Through your prayers and ongoing financial support for Bibleline, you too can help spread the gospel of Christ throughout the world and reach others with the message of salvation through Jesus. Join us now as we continue today’s teaching series from Dr.
Hank Lindstrom. We’re going to go to Chris in Tampa. Chris, welcome to Bible Life. Hi, I just wanted to, I just had a question. Could you explain to me the mark of the beast? Sure, the mark of the beast is in Revelation chapter 13 and apparently it is a mark that people will receive that without which they will not be able to buy or sell and it might be this computer chip now that they have developed which they will slip under your skin.
It’s about the size of a grain of rice and it will do everything. It will broadcast your vital signs. They already got these things out now and it will tell your blood pressure, your heart rate, your body of temperature and a monitoring station would receive that information. And let’s say your blood pressure went up. The monitoring station would alert your doctor and your doctor would give you calls and say look you need to come in and your blood pressure has gone up and so there are some good reasons maybe why people would want to get that.
Right now there is a $50 discount if you take that chip but you know the actual number 666 here comes from the Greek word that actually means to in size and punch under. Now that would certainly describe the chip because the needle in size is your skin it cuts it and then as they push down on the hypodermic to push the chip under your skin, it punches under your skin. And so the person who has the mark would have a chip that would really meet the description of the book of Revelation.
And it would also allow for you to, when you go through the grocery store, to be scanned. I saw a commercial, which was really kind of interesting. A person ran through the store and threw all kinds of things into his cart. and he ran right by the cash register, shot right out the door, and you thought, man, he’d robbed the store. And actually what happened was that he was scanned, and all the products that he was buying were scanned, and the commercial said, wouldn’t you like to leave your wallet at home?
And so some of the sales points for the chip will be the fact that you won’t have to carry a wallet, you won’t have to carry identification anymore. If you’re driving in the officer pulls you over, they can scan you, and they’ll know whether you have a driver’s license that is suspended or not. and they’ll know your traffic record, they’ll know everything about you just by scanning you. And of course, you’re buying and selling, would be done by the chip.
So it says in Revelation chapter 13, by the way, we don’t have to worry about it right now because if you’re a believer now, you’ll leave at the Rapture and the mark will not be instituted until three and a half years after the Rapture during the tribulation period. So it says there, he causes all, both small and great rich and poor free and bond to receive a mark in their right hand or in their foreheads and that no man might buy or sell say that he had the mark or the number of the beast or the number of his name and so apparently everybody will have a number and you know we’re already there with credit card you have a number signed your credit card and uh…
you can go to the store and they scan the card and money is either. He’s a debit card or you take the product on credit so you owe more money to the credit card company. But the day is coming when it will all probably be consolidated on one chip. Won’t that be interesting? So we’re living in a modern time when the technology is here. So that hopefully answers your question. And I believe that maybe this company down in West Palm Beach developed the chip, the company is called Vera chip.
They have chip distribution points now across America. The first one they opened was in Washington DC, isn’t it something? I believe the Antichrist comes out of America. And so it seemed to be kind of fitting for me that the first chip distribution point would be the capital of our country, Washington DC. And so apparently that’s it. Now we’re going down to beautiful Sarasota and talk to Janet. Welcome to Bibleline. Yes. Good morning, Dr. Lindstrom. Good morning. I recently visited the Holy Land experience.
I don’t know if you’ve ever been there. I haven’t been to that. And I purchased a book by Marvin Rosenthal, who’s the founder of the Holy Land experience. And the book was called the pre-rapture of the Church. Right. And I disagree with that position. I believe we’re not going to go through one minute of it, but it’s a good I’ve read the book I’ve got a copy of it right here. Oh, yeah, because he mentioned Sculptile you know that originally he believed in this and then he changed it.
Yeah, remember that he was head of the Friends of Israel and then he changed his whole position and then he started this other ministry where he has whole event experience over there in Orlando, but he says apparently we’re going to go through most of the tribulation except for the last six months but i i believe i can refute every point that he makes in the book but well i’m glad because i’m a firm believer in the pre-tribular after he’s wrong with it and i you know but he did he does he talks a great story well he’s a very convincing uh…
speaker in person and obviously he’s a very good writer but i disagree with that position i don’t believe we belong in the tribulation period at all were the bride of christ and i don’t think crisis gonna drag his bride through the tribulation period and and obviously the next thing that we’re to look for is not the tribulation but the rapture dr that i i completely agree on may i ask one more sure absolutely you have a uh… a specific FANTASY RIPTR reference uh…
that i could give to people who tried to prove that the church has taken the place of israel you know and that the jews have absolutely nothing to do with the future well it’s the replacement theology oh yeah it’s just is there any specific scripture on that you could point me to you know i don’t think any of it makes any sense that you know all through the new testament read about future things that have not yet happen and what they have to do is really explain them away yellow that’s what the on the line a list trite all try to do they they all do that and and they try to say well okay you know like My first real shock with this is I took a group to Israel and I had one of those pastors with me, his group was combined with mine and we were really in fine shape until we stood
up on the top of Armageddon and all of a sudden he began to tell everybody that Armageddon was really the cross and that was the forces of good versus the forces of evil and he had this wonderful explanation about what he thought Armageddon represented in past fulfillment in the cross and I thought to myself, where did this guy step off the boat here? Because I was just shocked because I was thrilled to stand there at the place where I believe that at the second coming the armies of the world will come to war beginning there and then Christ will come back and defeat the armies of the world and I believe it to be very literal and very future.
But I think it’s a misunderstanding about the three. I like 1st Corinthians chapter 10 verse 31 and I believe here is where you need to make a distinction and someone who has done a wonderful job and he is one of my mentors and that is Walvard John Walvard he wrote a book about all three different books separately about it says like in verse 32 excuse me I said 31 but 1 Corinthians 10 32 give none offense neither to the Jews nor to the Gentiles nor to the Church of God.
And if you don’t understand God’s purpose for each of those three, you really get confused. And obviously they feel like that God is through with the Jews and that we, the Church has replaced them, but certainly God has not done that. If you read the promises in the Old Testament and also read just what Paul says in Romans 9, 10 and 11. He says there that basically when the fullness of the Gentiles has come in, which is I believe the event of the rapture, then we find that God will turn back to dealing with the Jews and Christ will come back and deliver them and be their king.
And so it’s quite clear that he’s not through with them. In fact, in Romans chapter 11, In verse 1, it says, and this is Paul saying, I say then, have God cast away His people, and the answer is God forbid. And then he goes on to explain what’s happening in this present age, and how the Jewish people are kind of set on the side and are somewhat blinded. But yet there is always been a remnant that do believe on Christ.
I have several Jewish members of my church that have accepted Christ. And we have a new young lady who’s coming now who’s a messianic believer. But she just fits in just real good. And we’re praying for her family to get saved. But she’s a Jewish who has accepted Christ. And the blinders will really come off right after the rapture. And then everything’s on Jewish territory. Once the rapture happens, a temple will be rebuilt. animal sacrifices be offered at the temple to all testament profits are coming back revelation eleven a hundred forty four thousand jewish witnesses will be the prime witnesses during the tribulation period and so on and so on and so on and i would do the all the money you look believe in the in the tribulation period now that they don’t know by and that so but you’ve been very helpful and you might look for walford as an author he’s got
a book also called the rapture question which is excellent where he brings up the other views and shoots them down and then just does a wonderful job of establishing the biblical position. It’s called a retro question. Well, I love the meaning of sensational truth. Oh, that’s also, yeah, that’s wonderful. And that’s wonderful. But I wanted to get your view on it too, and I appreciate it. Well, you’re most welcome, Janet, and thanks for calling in. Okay, bye-bye. That was Janet.
And obviously, it looks like we’re on course to rebuild that third temple that the Bible talks about. But God is not through with the Jewish people and certainly Romans 9, 10, and 11 lay out God’s purpose for them and how basically God has turned to the Gentiles for the past two thousand years and we’re the Church of God. But God still has a plan for the Gentile nations which will conclude at the end of what we call the times of the Gentiles, not the same as the fullness of the Gentiles.
And that will run right up until the second coming when Christ defeats the nations and rules over the nations of the earth as their king. And of course the Jewish people have a particular wonderful future ahead as God will make them the head nation during the millennium and there’s no doubt that that’s still going to happen. And according to the book of Zachariah, in the Old Testament, two-thirds of the Jewish people in Israel will be killed by the Antichrist. In chapter 13 of Zachariah it says, and it shall come to pass, that in all the land, that is the land of Israel, this is Zachariah 13 verse 9. Sayeth the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die, but the third part shall be left therein. So we find that two-thirds of the Jews in the state of Israel, and there’s right now about six million Jewish people in Israel.
Two-thirds of them, or four million, will be killed. Two million will survive, and those two million apparently become saved. They become believers. It says in verse 9, I’ll bring the third part through the fire and we’ll refine them as silver as refined and we’ll try them as gold as tried and they shall what? Call on my name, Zechariah 139. They’ll call on my name and that’s how you get saved. They call on the name of Yeshua or in English it’s spelled Jesus.
They’ll trust in Christ the Savior. They’ll call upon the name of the Lord and it says here and I will hear them and I will say it is by people and they shall say the Lord is my God. Wow, what a great time this is going to be. Many millions will get saved during the tribulation period, including two million apparently in the state of Israel and the other four million in Israel will be slaughtered as they will not follow the instructions given in the Bible to run for the lives.
And what is so interesting? We just returned from Israel and we were down at the Dead Sea and the Dead Sea surface has been going down because of evaporation, because they’re not allowing water from the Jordan to flow into the Dead Sea any longer. But there’s been a sandbar there apparently forever that has not been seen, but today it’s absolutely dry land. There’s like a highway that cuts diagonally right across the Dead Sea. And if you run a line on a map from Jerusalem to Petra, the rock city where the Jewish people flee to, it cuts right across this diagonal sandbar and people will walk across on dry land.
It’s amazing God has already prepared the way for them to flee quickly from the Antichrist into Jordan which will remain politically neutral during the tribulation period. It’s exciting stuff. I’m so glad I’m a believer. To be saved, to go to heaven, to have eternal life, you must trust Jesus Christ as being God, who came and took on human flesh, went to the cross of Calvary, paid your sin debt and full by his death and shed blood was buried, and rose again from the dead.
Church membership doesn’t save you, water baptism doesn’t save you, living the Christian life doesn’t save you, prayers don’t save you, mass doesn’t save you, penance doesn’t save you, you can list all kinds of things, but none of them will save you. trusting Christ will save. And the Bible says very clearly, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. The word believe means to trust. When you trust that He is the one who made the full payment for your sin at the cross was buried in rose again from the dead, God saves all those that trust in Him.
And we’re living in exciting days. I think we’re living right at the edge where the Lord is going to come and snatch us out. And then God will return to his plan for Israel. The third temple will be rebuilt. The Antichrist, three and a half years in, will stop the sacrifices that will have been resumed. He will desecrate the temple with his image. He will turn on the Jewish people. Another Holocaust will occur on the earth. And at the end of that seven years, Christ will come back.
And He will defeat the armies of this world and establish His Kingdom. And he shall reign forever and ever.” That is a phrase right out of the book of Revelation where Christ comes back and takes over this world and he’ll rule and reign forever and ever and ever. In any case we’ve got to run but we’ll be back tomorrow. So keep looking up. Jesus is coming and we’ll be back soon. God bless, have a great day. We’ll see you tomorrow here on Bible.
