Now open your Bible to the book of Revelation chapter 2 and join us for Dr. Lynch from teaching for today. That all believers are equal brothers in the body of Christ. That all of us have equal access to God through prayer through Christ.
And all of us have equal access to the Scriptures and can go to the Scriptures and God can speak to us out of the Word of God. He says verse 16, repent. I mean change your mind or else I’ll come into the quickly and I’ll fight against those with the sword of my mouth. And of course, this system, people of it, proceed right all the way to the tribulation period, and some of those will wind up in the judgments of the tribulation period as well.
But Christ will come against them, and obviously the loss will be destroyed at the second coming and cast into hell. Verse 17, here again, he that hath an ear, let him hear with the Spirit, saith unto the churches. To him that overcometh, who’s the overcomer? First John 5, 4, and 5, a believer. He says, well, I give the eat of the hidden manna. Always wondered what that manna tasted like. We’re going to get a chance to taste the manna when we get to heaven.
Every believer will get the eat of the hidden manna. Secondly, I’ll give him a white stone. And in the white stone, a new name written, which no man knows, saving he that received it. Every Bible teacher is pretty much in agreement that this is a diamond. We, the church, are the bride of Christ. And Christ apparently gives each of us a white stone a diamond. I’ve done a lot of weddings, and I’ve never seen another stone ever given to a bride.
I’ve seen plain gold bands, but I’ve never seen a bride yet another color stone. Have you? That white stone is symbolic. And it’s a custom that’s been developed on the Bible because Christ gives us his bride a white stone. apparently a pretty big piece of rock to have our names inscribed in it. And so we’re all going to get a diamond one day. You ever seen a young girl who gets engaged and she comes up in your face and she didn’t say anything, but she just holds her hand like this right in front of your nose.
Oh, you want me to see that white stone, that diamond. And she probably displays the diamond that is a symbol of the fact that she’s the bride to be. Well, We, the bride of Christ, will get a white stone one day. And it’s interesting to me that the traditions that we practice oftentimes come from the Bible, and here we have it, that Christ will give us His bride a white stone, and our names will be inscribed in it. A name that we’ll recognize, it’ll be our name.
That our Heavenly Father will give us a new name. You know, as a parent, you get the privilege of naming your children. And when you become born again, I believe God has the privilege of being able to give us a new name. And so when we talk about a new name written on heaven, the Bible talks about it here, a name that God especially chooses to call us when He calls us in heaven. We’ll have a new name and a stone, a white stone, a diamond with that name written in it.
She’s exciting. These are wonderful blessings. I hope you can receive a lot of people saying, man, how can He say all those things? And if you’ve never heard it before, it’s quite shocking, I’m sure. But I have a couple articles back here, The Woman. I have one called Easter, The Mother of Bail. You might want to check some of those and follow some of the history. And if you do your homework, you’ll see that what I’m saying is true and that we have a system that is still around and has always been around, that has been Satan’s tool and it blinds people to the truth of Jesus Christ.
Now we come to verse 18 and now we’re talking about the Church of the 8th through the 14th centuries, and this is essentially a dark time in history where the church now becomes very, very corrupted during this time. And so this is from about the eighth century onward. Look at, if you will, verse 18, it says, under the angel of the church in Thyra-Tira. Thyra-Tira in the Greek means sacrifice. And it was during this time that a sacrificial system was introduced into Christianity, which I believe is the mass.
And the mass is a sacrifice of Christ all over again to pay for sin. If you have the Roman catechism, it says, what is the sacrifice of the mass? The answer. I quote, the mass is the unbloodied sacrifice of Jesus Christ again to pay for sin. The next question the catechism says is the mass the same sacrifices that of Calvary. Answer the The catechism says the mass is the same sacrifice as that of Calvary. So Roman Catholics believe that at a special time in the service that when the round piece of bread called the Eucharist is consecrated, it magically is transformed into the actual body cells of Christ’s body and that the wine is transformed into the actual literal blood of Christ.
And so when that is offered up, it is a sacrifice of Christ all over again to pay for sin. And they basically believe that Christ is offered every time the Mass is offered. And that is, of course, blasphemous. The Bible in verse after verse tells us that Christ died once, that Calvary will never be repeated, and that his one-time death was sufficient to pay for all of our sins for all eternity. Jesus on the cross said it is finished.
And he meant by that that our sins were paid for in full, that full satisfaction had been received for the debt. three English words, it is finished, or one word in the Greek to tell us die, and it’s an accounting term, and it means that your sins are fully paid for. The debt has been satisfied by Christ’s death. Jesus did not pay for any sin during the three days between his death and resurrection. Christ did not pay for any sins by his resurrection.
Every sin the uni would commit or anyone else would commit were paid for on the cross. And during During those three days, he went down where the believers of the Old Testament were into Paradise, the heart of the earth. He announced liberty to them, and on the third day he emptied those out of the heart of the earth and took them up to heaven. HeHot was never in any place of torment after Calvary, and yet there are those who teach that Christ went into hell.
And there he wrestled with Satan for three days and defeated him and so on. That’s all nonsense. That’s fairytale that certainly does not come from the Bible. It says in Hebrews 10, 14, by one offering he hath perfected forever those that are sanctified. So by one offering, by dying once on the cross of Calvary our sins were paid for. So we find here that Christianity became severely corrupted and the verse says here and these are the words of Christ, these things say at the Son of God.
It was during this time that Mary was elevated and Christ was demoted. And so during this time, Jesus is called the Son of Mary, not the Son of God. Notice how this letter takes it and puts it in its rightful place, that Jesus is the Son of God, not the Son of Mary. In Catholicism, he’s the Son of Mary, and Mary’s the queen of heaven. And so actually Mary is exalted above Jesus, and you need to go to Mary to get to Jesus in Catholicism.
But what does it say in 1 Timothy 2, 5? I believe we looked at it last week. one God and one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. So the Mediator between God and men is Christ, not Mary. And Mary, by the way, cannot hear your prayers, nor can she answer prayers. She is just like everyone else in the human race. Who has departed, who has no special powers, and cannot hear your prayers or mine. And we know that Mary herself on several occasions said, Hear Him, not me.
She never ever put herself in a position where they would look to her and not Christ. But yet this is what happened during this time. And so Mary is called the mother of God. That puts her above God. God doesn’t have a mother. God doesn’t have a father. God doesn’t have a beginning. doesn’t have an ending. Jesus Christ is God and doesn’t have a father or a mother. Mary was indeed the mother of the flesh that God took upon himself, but she was not the mother of God.
God doesn’t have a mother. God indwelt the flesh that she was the mother of, but she was simply the mother of the flesh that God took upon himself. And the Bible tells us in John 1, 14, the word which is God was made flesh and dwelt among us. And so God indwelt that flesh that Mary was the mother of. So during this time we find that notice Jesus is going to judge this church. It says he has eyes like a no flame of fire and that means everything he sees that is in pure he’ll destroy and judge and notice his feet are like in the fine brass.
We said brass and feet are a picture of judgment and he will judge this church. He says in verse 19, I know thy works and charity and service and faith and thy patience and and I works and the last to be more than the first. So it emphasizes the works. And certainly one of the things that this church did is it focused on works for salvation. It did lots of good works, which were to be commended. We know that a lot of charitable things have been done by the Roman Catholic Church, and a lot of hospitals have been created to help those that are infirmed and so on.
In fact, Mother Teresa went to Calcutta to help those in the streets of Calcutta, But what is interesting is she never ever introduced them to Christ because in Catholicism, as long as you’re sincere in whatever God you believe in, you’re going to make heaven. And so what Mother Tressa was doing was earning her salvation. And so what she did was treat those people so that she could earn her way to heaven. Thank you for joining us. We’re going to talk to Ron in Saint Pete.
Ron, welcome to Bible Land. Good morning doctor. Good morning. I really enjoy your program. I thank you. You I know like the King James version. I do I was raised on that I got saved at 18 and I got introduced to the old Scofield King James and I have found that if you get into it in a couple of months you can just overlook the these and those and by the way the King James is really the one translation that’s out there that is written at about a fifth or sixth grade level.
All the other newer ones are written at a year two three four five more degree of difficulty than the King James believe it or not. The King James Bible language is very simple. Well I was wondering what do you think of the new King James? Well Well it’s got problems with it. You know I was hopeful when I heard it was going to come out that they would just change the these and theals and bring it up to speed.
But they’ve done more than that. They’ve actually changed the text in many places. They take a verse like in Matthew 7 where it says narrow is the way that leads in the life and they say hard is the way that leads in the life. Well that totally changes the plan of salvation. It implies that salvation is something that we earn and that it’s hard to get there. because Nero is speaking about the uniqueness of Christ being the only way to heaven that he alone is the Savior and only through faith in Christ can you make heaven.
But when they change it to the word hard they do damage and there’s a whole lot. Plus the logo on the New King James Bible is the secular pagan symbol for the Trinity and is used on satanic rock groups like Led Zeppelin on their album covers and so on. I don’t know why in the world they would choose to use such a symbol but it maybe a Satan’s influence in working in that new translation. Thank you, Ron. We do have that book, by the way.
We’ve had several requests called New Age Bible Versions, and it deals with the problems in the New King James and the NIV, the NSB, the RSV, the TEV, and all these other translations that are out there. Christian bookstores aren’t selling it anywhere in our listing area we found out, and apparently because it would destroy their business because they make a living off selling these other translations. But let me encourage you, now we have Frank on the line and Frank welcome to Bibleline good morning doctor Lindstrom.
I enjoy very much going through the Old Testament Because I I always like I call it the treasure hunt going and finding Christ in their hidden and Not so much hidden, but it’s amazing if you read if anyone reads through the Old Testament Even in the Psalms and even in the Proverbs Christ pops up the first coming coming the millennial reign It’s just amazing. It’s just fully, it’s all over the place. And I remember years ago, I think that gentleman has long since passed away.
He was a Christian Jew and he had a radio show out of Fort Lauderdale and he would usually messiah. And one of them, I think it was in Proverbs. I’ve been trying to find it and I can’t. Where it asks a series of questions and they finally ask referring to God. What is his son’s name? Frank, I happen to know where that’s at. It’s Proverbs chapter 30 and it’s one of my favorites as well. But that’s a great one and talks about the God of the universe, the God of creation, the one who brought about the universe and it says here, what is his name?
And then it says what is his son’s name? And a very obvious reference. And then it talks about trusting in him and obviously salvation coming as a result of doing that. What a wonderful passage. Proverbs chapter 30 in your Bible there Frank. Okay I’ll make a note of it. I lived among a large Jewish community but back in 79 in my Ami beach and a lot of them were survivors of the Holocaust and some who were in their 90s had survived having to flee from Russia from the Bolsheviks and I’ve always wondered why there was some many of them were turned off to the idea of jesus being the christ and is that the fault of mainly of the uh…
the uh… was in the same position but the uh… all it starts with the conquerors the uh… the crusaders yes that’s it that’s what the the word i was looking for i think i think there’s been this uh… anti-Semitism and it actually began the groundwork was laid by augustine in his teachings in the fifth century and he taught that the church had become Israel and was now God’s kingdom on the earth and that was the rationale for the conquistadors to conquer and pillage the Americas in the name of the Rome Catholic Church and so on.
It was all something to began back then and when the Reformation came the Reformation churches didn’t come clean from the false teaching and and so many of the Reformation churches today have the false views of the return of Christ, the of colonialism and post-millennialism and these other things which are the basis of replacement theology today all are remnants of the false teaching of the Roman Catholic Church and then of that not being cleaned up during the time of the Reformation.
So then that’s why there’s some sometimes like animosity towards Christianity because of the past of what some… Absolutely, they were called Christ-killers and they became hated and hunted down and killed and so Christians, those who claim they were Christians, I’d really wonder if they were. Obviously, he gave174 a bad name and we should love the Jew and be concerned about their salvation. Certainly Paul said that he loved the Jewish people. He was a Jew and he said that he would give his life or his salvation if he could so that his Jewish brethren could be saved according to Romans 9.
Dr. Hank, I was going to ask you, is it good idea when, if one is dealing with a Jewish friend to show them maybe not from the Protestant Bible but show them from the Jew or have they been rewritten or anything? No, it’s wonderful. In fact, you just have to recognize that some of the numberings are changed and I think they’ve done that to kind of sidestep us as believers who might be witnessing to them. For example, Isaiah 53, which is that marvelous chapter that tells the whole story of Christ and the crucifixion in Isaiah 700 years before it ever happens.
chapter 52 in the Jewish Bible in Isaiah. And so when you tell them the look up chapter 53 and they look it up and it doesn’t say what you’re saying, it’s like being at bat and totally missing the pitch when it comes right down the alley. So yeah, you just, and if you could do it with them, it’s even better if you could take their Bible and show them that’s wonderful. Yeah, because now the Gentiles, those who believe are called spiritual Jews, or were considered as spiritual Jews?
Well, we basically enter into the family of Abraham, but we’re never Jews. We are simply, as it talks about in the book of Romans, where the wild olive branch that has been grafted into the true olive tree. And that Israel is the root and that many of their branches have been broken off because they didn’t receive Christ as Savior. But we as wild-eyed branches, believing on Christ, become grafted into the true olive tree. And so we become, the Bible says Abraham’s spiritual seed that God promised back there in the book of Genesis.
He spoke not only of a physical seed, which we still see in the world today and have gone back to the land of Israel, Israel but we also see the spiritual heritage as Abraham is called the father of all that would believe. You see it’s almost like one sees the hand of God because I’ve noticed that every time in Israel it looks like they’re getting around the point of making a peace treaty. Something goes wrong. It’s just not the right timing.
I had even my daughter said why didn’t they get Saddam Hussein. We were talking about this before I got her off to school this morning and I said to her I said the timing wasn’t right. I said he is there as a reason to go back into that Middle East and obviously a reason We’ll probably have to do that because he’s gonna have a nuclear weapons very shortly according to Vice President Cheney And the Bible says that we’re gonna be drawn back in and we’re gonna go right back to Iraq in fact the Bible says that this image that Daniel saw that began with Babylon and Obviously as you see the image the head was Babylon and works on down to the feet and the toes are the are the Western nation under the control of the Antichrist, it says that image will stand upright at the end time
and will be placed back upon its base, which is Iraq. So we’re going to see the full combination of that image standing up with its feet firmly planted in control of Iraq during the end times after the Rapture. And it’s amazing we’re seeing that because when Babylon expanded outward, the Medo-Persian Empire, encompassed all of what was Babylon and more, and then the Grecian Empire encompassed all of what was a Medo-Persian Empire and the Babylonian Empire, and then we have the Roman Empire encompassing all of that, and then the end time would encompass all of what was Rome plus the United States, and all of the West under the control of the Antichrist will go in and take over the core countries, and then you’ll see this complete image comprised of all five of those world ruling powers standing upright with its feet on Iraq, controlling
Iraq and we are watching Bible prophecy unfold before our eyes. I read the headlines this morning and I get goosebumps because we’re watching really what’s going to happen before it happens, although the Bible has told us what’s going to happen. So we’re fully aware of how it’s going to play out. Yes, if they wait too long, I think they’re going to make them a step. If he does get the weapons or develop them, he had the final product made.
And it’s almost amazing. I was reading because I always wondered how many Jews were lost in the Holocaust and it said two-thirds of the European Jews and I remember that the Bible says two-thirds of the Jews in Israel will be killed in the final Holocaust. And it’s just chilling how I like what one commentator he says, Satan doesn’t know when the end will come. So throughout the ages he sets up these people trying to do whatever it is he’s trying to do.
They’re all forerunners of the Antichrist and certainly the intent on the heart of Satan is the same and that’s to destroy this people that has brought about the Savior who ultimately will defeat Satan. Frank, it’s been fun talking to you. I’m so glad you called in today. And God bless. Have a great day. That was Frank and Tampa. That’s 1-800-576-3771. If you have your Bible there, open, if you will, to Mark chapter 3. Mark chapter 3. Here we have the unpardonable sin. It says here in Mark chapter 3 in verse 28, Jesus says, all sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies, wherewith soever they shall blaspheme, but he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit hath never forgiveness but is in danger of eternal damnation. Well, what is this sin? And of course, a lot of people get nervous when they read about this particular sin and you might want to look at it too.
It’s Mark chapter 3 verse 28 and 29. Some have imagined that the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is to curse using the name of the Holy Spirit. But you know, I’ve never heard anybody do that ever in my life. I’ve heard people curse and take the name of Jesus in vain and the name of God in vain, but I’ve never heard anybody maybe stub their toe or hit their finger with a hammer and say, Holy Spirit, have you ever heard that?
I’ve never heard it done. So obviously that’s not the sin. And others have imagined that it’s something that could cause you to lose your salvation. It’s not that at all. This is talking to a lost group. had healed in the context here a man that was blind and numb so that he both spake and saw. The religious leaders couldn’t deny the healing, but they did reject who Christ claims to be, that is the Messiah, the Savior, God in flesh.
And so they said, yes, he heals, but he does it by the power of Satan, not by the power of the Holy Spirit. And so what the sin against the Holy Spirit turns out to be is the rejection of Christ to say that Christ healed by Satan’s power, that he was not the Messiah, that he was not the Savior, that he was an imposter of fraud, a counterfeit, a charlatan, a deceiver, and not the Messiah of the Savior, the Son of God, the One who could bring you salvation.
And the answer here is so clear in Mark’s Gospel, if you have your Bible open, look at verse 30, it says here in verse 29, He that shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit have never forgiven us, but is in danger of eternal damnation, because they said, because they said, here’s the answer, verse 30, because they said, He Christ hath an unclean spirit. So it was really to say that Christ had a demon or Satan using the power of Satan to heal and not the power of the Holy Spirit.
So that was the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. To attribute the works of Christ to Satan and not to the Holy Spirit was the blasphemy. It’s actually a rejection of Christ. It’s the same as that of unbelief. When you die, if you die as an unbeliever, you will go to hell. You will not enter heaven. And there is no second chance. But if you trust Christ as your Savior while you’re living, before you die, you will go to heaven.
And in John 3 18, Christ makes the same unpardonable sin clear that it’s a rejection of Christ. He says, in John 3 18, he that believeth on the Son, it says, is not condemned. But he that believeth not the Son is condemned already. And then the answer is because he hath not believed, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. So there are two groups in this world, those that believe in those that believe not, those that have trusted Christ, those that have not trusted Christ, those that have trusted Christ, John 3, 18, are not condemned.
Now, nor forever in the future, those that have not believed on Christ, the Bible says are condemned already. They are already condemned, they are already headed for hell. Why? Because they have not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God. You see, Jesus, when he died, paid for every imaginable sin that you could ever commit, and Jesus says that in John, rather in Mark 3, 28, all sins, Jesus says, verily I say unto you, all sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies, wherewith, so ever they shall blaspheme.
So every sin you could ever commit your whole lifetime was taken by God and laid upon Jesus Christ at the cross and he paid for them in full by his death at the cross. Then we find that if you reject that provision that Christ made though then you’re going to be in deep trouble because there’s only one way that your sins might be forgiven. Your works won’t do it, your church membership won’t do it, water baptism won’t do it, nothing you can name or do.
We’ll get rid of your sin. There’s only one Savior Christ. He’s the only remedy, the only provision that God has given for your sin. going to rejoin stations that have been on break into the second half hour by one. So they’ll go away. Now let’s return to our question and answer segment and then we’ll hear more Bible teaching from Dr. Hank Lindstrom. We’re going to go to a cell phone caller. His name is Antonio. Antonio, welcome to Bibleline. How are you doing? Good morning. Good morning. I got a quick question about bugo Hebrew. He was not a pastor or anybody who is known to write that book.
The author is a mystery. Some believe it is the Apostle Paul but others find that some things are a little bit different than perhaps the way the Paul would have written it. But it doesn’t tell us who the writer is. We do believe it is inspired of God and it is scripture. But God is the author of all scripture, all 66 books we believe are authored by God himself although he spoke through the profits and the apostles but we really don’t know and i guess i will just have to get the heaven to find out who got used in painting the book of hebers so that the only book that is kind of like a mystery it of course learning who may have rolled up book well i would say necessarily the only one but that is uh…
definitely uh… uh… one book that we really are left in the dark a little bit as to who wrote it okay yeah because i hear it die yesterday and you’re okay i get i’m going to take a class and i’m going to learn more about it good thank you and don’t know how that’s good and also we have many series that we’ve already taught here including the book of revelation book of daniel the book of his ekeel classes on bible doctrines personal evangelism discipleship we just talk one on angels has been very popular and if you drive in your car a lot especially are you going on a trip uh…
pop those in player and uh… be learning god’s word while you’re going on your uh… journey wherever you’re going and uh… you’ll be sitting in a sense right in the classroom because this is recorded live from the classroom here at calvert community church so if you’d like a list or catalog of those courses that are available you certainly uh… can call our church number and get the that information and we can mail it to you again if you drop by you can look over all that’s available and maybe pick up some Our website is BibleLineMinistries.org, BibleLineMinistries.org.
Check it out, lots of resources, and you can get to all the articles that I’ve written. I think you might like to do that. We have lots of things there that you can download and use as Bible study material. And we have preachers come by here, and they preach them. In fact, I talked to one guy and he said, you know, I preach all your material. But we have quite a few about 140 different topics that I’ve written on available to download off our website.
You might want to check that out Bibleline Ministries.org. Maybe it’ll benefit you. Again the 800 number is Are You Ready? 1-800-576-3771. We have a caller waiting already through the break here. We have Joe and Hudson. Welcome to Bibleline. Hey, thanks. I have a question in 2 Timothy. Alright. Starting at verse 11. What chapter? I’m sorry, two. I said second, second Timothy two. And it’s leading up to the study to show yourself approved of God. Talking about rightly dividing the word of truth.
And it says it’s a faithful saying, if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him. Kind of ties into what you were saying earlier. Right. And there, of course, it talks about the death, you know, we’re placed into the body of Christ believers and so we have been crucified with Christ, bared with Christ, raised with Christ, ascended with Christ and so on. And if that has happened to us, which occurs through the baptism and Holy Spirit, we’re gonna live with Him.
Right, and then it says if we suffer. We’re gonna reign. So not everybody’s gonna suffer, I realize that I’m not living a suffering life and if I died today I’d go to heaven, but does it mean I’m not going to reign with Him? Well, I think it means I has to with rewards and so raining or ruling uh… during the millennium and having our positions in heaven i guess will be the problem what we do here and so i think it’s talking about reward for sure if we start i mean i i i heard mcgee say this one time i agree with them i feel awful embarrassed sitting next to the apollo poll raining after all he went through i feel like a fool i’d be like after all this guy went through and here i am raining with him just doesn’t seem fair i’ll take it if you want to give it to me but because i know he’s very gracious
but and then as it continues it said if we believe not. Yes, he abided faithful. He cannot deny himself. Is that saying that since we’re in him, even if we’re not always completely faithful, that he’ll continue to be faithful to us and complete what he promised to do? Am I reading that? That’s really, yeah, and it’s a great internal security verse. And some people say, what if I stop believing? Right. But we’ll want to lose my salvation and the answer is no.
Even if you stop believing, you still stuck. You have to go to heaven whether you like it or not. And Christ said, him that comes to me, I will know why he’s cast out. Some people suggest, well, what if I stopped believing? Too bad. So sad. You’re stuck. Okay, you studied a little bit of Greek. I’m not trying to put you on the spot. But is that what this verse is saying here? Is that what he’s referring to? I mean, can you, can you, can you, can you, can you, I say that that’s how that should be interpreted as a thing?
I think the main trust is on the Christian life that if we fail to, you know, the, the, the believers that came out of Egypt that had taken the laments and slain it so on were redeemed people. But obviously they didn’t exhibit much faith in the wilderness and therefore they wandered around for 40 years and never obtained the wonderful promises of the Christian life to enter the Promised Land and so on and so on. That whole generation died out.
So I think primarily it’s in that area that if we’re not only saved by faith, but then the Christian life is lived by faith and trusting God and believing Him. And if we don’t trust Him and believe Him, we probably will make very little or no progress in our Christian like, yet we’re still his and we’ll still eventually be in heaven with him and we’ll receive a lesser degree of reward than we would have if we had been people of faith who believed him.
So I think this is really what it’s talking about. But I think it also means even if you stopped believing, you can’t reverse what took place when you got saved. No, he puts the Holy Spirit in you as a down payment, as the urn is talking to you, like you’ve said many times, if I went to hell, the Holy Spirit would have to go to hell with me and i don’t think that’s going to happen it’s uh… you know you’re on a clue collision course with heaven and eternity when you trust christ the savior but you’ve got a really honestly believe it is not something that you take flippantly there are people who would pretend they believe you of the people the different soil well i think we understood it perhaps you know i mean but the word believe means the trust and right and uh…
and uh… people will say well what if you don’t trust anymore you know then you get lost again and then you get into that argument and that’s theoretical here here here this verse says even if you didn’t trust anymore you It’s still be saved. But otherwise, a lot of people are talking about belief and they’re talking about mental ascent. And that isn’t what the biblical word means. So I can assent to all the facts of the life of Christ and not be saved.
But when I trust that he did it for me, then he died for my sins, was buried in rose again from that had God saved me. In other words, you’re saying, as far as mental ascent, historically I believe this all happened, but I’m not accepting it as myself. Well, I didn’t even understand it. I’m not for myself. I knew all those facts. I was raised in church, it was never given the gospel message and I never had any problem with the fact that Christ lived.
He existed. He was born of a virgin that he died on the cross. He even died to pay for sins. He was buried in rose again from the dead. I knew all those facts, but I was not saved because I had never trusted him as that that was the means of my salvation. I did understand that John 3 16 really meant that God so loved me that he gave Christ to die for me that if I would believe I would not perish but I’d have eternal life.
And So I like to say it this way, Christ died, that’s history. Christ died for me, that’s salvation. Right. And so the difference between acknowledging the history of Christ and personally trusting Him as Savior. You comprehend it, then you apprehend it. There you go. That’s a fancy one. If you wanted to be a little bit more antagonistic and say, all right, what if someone gets to that point? Yet they still think that they could turn around and walk away.
Would you say that they haven’t received the true gospel at that point? And that they could actually lose their salvation? Would you say, well, that person doesn’t even really understand the true gospel? Well, as a possibility that you’ve never understood it, because most of the people who teach you can lose it, never got it, because they are trusting in how they’re going to perform and their Christian life to ultimately save them or get them into heaven. And when we really understand the gospel, Jesus paid it all, and we simply received His finished work, and we’re saved forever, and there’s nothing that can undo that.
It’s just like when you leap off a tall building, You can’t reverse your decision because you’re on your way toward the ground and once you trust Christ The consequences are irreversible, but they’re great consequences because we’re we’re saved and we’re going to heaven based upon what Christ did and we can’t undo it Well, I’m not big on testimony, but I just want to give a little short one here I was at a point where I thought I understood the gospel But I also got to a point where people were trying to convince me that it could be undone and I had a problem with that in that I knew that I couldn’t attain to it.
I felt I can’t hold on to my own salvation. I can’t keep this deal. I’m human. I’m going to goof up. You can call it faith, holding on your faith or whatever you want. But I call any sin sin, Jesus says, if you break the least part of it, you break it all. First rule is, love the Lord, and God, even with all your mind, even believing everything. So if I break any commandment, I’m really breaking them all because I’m saying, well, God isn’t really going to do anything bad about this for whatever reason, whether it’s because I have salvation or whether I’m just He was capable of being rebellious, but then when I realized that he was keeping the deal, I was much more grateful and I was relieved, and I said, man, I go ahead, he’s holding on to me.
I don’t want to be doing the one holding her. I’m in trouble here. And it made him more powerful in my mind. I was limiting God when I was thinking that I was part of the partnership deal here as far as the keeping of the salvation. And I was thinking, wow, this is bad. What kind of a twisted God would put me in charge of something. Well, you know, that’s what drove me to serve the Lord. I was so grateful that God would care enough about me that He would die and pay for my sins and that I would be given eternal life.
It’s completely free and never would ever be able to lose it. And I said, Lord, if you love me that much at least I can do is tell somebody else about you. And I think we all owe the Lord a great debt. although he’s already paid our salvation and there’s nothing we can do to contribute to that. We can at least show our gratitude by letting our lives be lived for him. And that certainly is a theme taught in the Bible that because he died for us we should live for him.
Well, like I said, I’m even more grateful now that I understand it completely. It’s even a greater gift. Yes, amen. And much more able for me to appreciate it and say, wow, it’s just amazing. It is amazing grace. Amen. All right, I’m gonna go. show. Thank you. Great. Alright, so once you get saved, you’re stuck. You have to go to heaven with the like it or not. And I don’t believe you’ve understood the bonus salvation until you understand that because as soon as you say you could lose it, then you’re saying salvation is ultimately based upon your performance and what you will or will not do in the future.
And that makes salvation of works. And it makes it a false, what you’ve trusted in a false message because the message of the gospel is one of faith alone. That wraps up today’s question and answer segment. As believers in Jesus, there is no other topic that is more important to us than the gospel of Jesus Christ, and it was Dr. Hank Lindstrom’s mission to spread the gospel. And so what she did was treat those people so that she could earn her way to heaven. All you have to do is get on internet and read her writings.
And Mother Tressa was working her way busily to heaven. And what is the message of the church that you work your way in? Through your keeping the sacraments and doing good deeds, earn, they say grace, which is a contradiction because grace is the absence of works and cannot be earned. But the Catholic Church teaches salvation by works. and so Mother Tressa, along with so many, have fallen into that false doctrine of working your way to heaven, and yet the Lord acknowledges that and commends them for their good works.
It says in verse 20, nevertheless, I have a few things against thee because now sufferers that woman Jezebel, who called herself a prophetess to teach and seduce my servants to commit fornication and to eat things, sacrifice, and idols. And what is interesting here is that The Jezebel of the Old Testament was a very, very wicked woman. She married King Ahab, and she, of course, sold out the God of the Bible and introduced the worship of idols and the sacrifice to idols and a false salvation system and a false worship system.
And here apparently was a woman also with that same name. And notice she calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and seduces these to commit fornication. now about spiritual fornication. Wherever you depart from the living God to have intercourse with another God, you are committing spiritual fornication. And the Bible warns about that. In fact, it tells us that we are to present ourselves as a chaste virgin to Christ spiritually. And it talks about different doctrines that Satan will bring our way to mislead us so that we wind up committing spiritual adultery.
And so this is what happened during this time. And obviously they began to worship idols. They began to worship saints and to pray to them and to pray to Mary and to worship Mary. And Mary was elevated even above God as she’s the queen of heaven. And as we talked about last week is the same as the one that Jeremiah spoke about, the same as Astroth that we read about in Judges 2 where God was angry. How that generation after Joshua began to serve Baal and his mother Easter, Astroth, the short form is Astroth, the English form is Easter.
And that was a pagan system. We showed how that Ezekiel was caught back in time and saw how that that corruptive system actually entered into the very temple of God. And God, because of that destroyed the temple, brought Nebuchadnezzar against it and destroyed it. And he took Nebuchadnezzar from his home in Iraq in the exile, took him back in time prior to the destruction of the temple, and took him from Iraq to Jerusalem where the temple stood and says, Ezekiel, I want you to see why I destroyed it.
I want you to tell my people why they’re in captivity and I write because they worshipped Tamuz. Remember, there were women weeping for Tamuz, which is Lent. Lent is about the start, but there is no such sling as Lent in your Bible. There might be Lent, L-I-N-T, but there’s no Lent. Lent is pagan. It has to do with the story where Tamuz was wounded in a hunting accident and his life hung in the balance or he died. And for 40 days they prayed to all the heathen gods and they fasted and they wept.
And at the end of the 40 days, Camus came back from the dead. He’s the counterfeit of Christ. It occurs in every spring and this was introduced to the Christianity after Constantine came along and there’s no Ash Wednesday in the Bible and there is no Lent in the Bible and the whole system is false. The Catholic Dictionary which I have in the library down the hall says that Lent is a means of earning salvation. So when you fast and you pray during that time you’re getting points according to the Catholicism which will help you gain salvation.
There’s a whole system that is totally foreign to the Bible and this is a false system that was introduced to the Christianity. And then of course the sacrifice of the Mass being a major one. And during this time changes began to occur and were added to Christianity. In 606 AD we have the first pope as we know the popes, although they claim they can trace it all the way back to Peter, which is false. But Boniface III was made the first pope in 606 AD.
In 650, feasts were now made in honor of the Virgin Mary. In 709 they began the tradition of kissing the pope’s feet. In 783 they began the worship of images and relics. In 850 AD, holy water was invented. No such thing. In 1073 AD the canonization of saints began. In 1003 feasts for dead people were instituted. In 1074 the solubacy of priests was decreed. In 1076 AD the infallibility of the church was decreed. In 1090 prayer beads were invented to help people keep track of their prayers to Mary.
In 1140 AD the doctrine of the seven sacraments began to be taught. 1198e, the sale of indulgences were permitted, where you could actually trade money for good works for salvation. The Roman Catholic had the doctrine which they still continue to have, that they had lots of priests and nuns that were living more than exemplary lives, and so they had more than enough good works to earn salvation. So the Catholic Church would take their extra good works and put them in a bank.
And in you, if you were deficient on good works, could pay money to the Church and they would transfer good works to your account from this bank. And that’s what is called indulgences. If you have a Catholic Bible, at least in the front of one of the several I have down the hall, it says you get an indulgence of 500 days less in purgatory for just kissing the Bible every day. So if you kiss the Bible every day, 500 days less in purgatory.
And they have all kinds of little things you can do and things that you can buy that will help you have less days in purgatory. They never tell you exactly how many days you’ll have to have in purgatory, but they generally say about a hundred thousand years you’ll be there. But again, it’s a false doctrine. The only place sin can be purged is at the cross. Our works can’t pay for sin, so there’s no place of purging for sin except the cross.
And so that’s a false doctrine because our works can’t pay for sin. And to say that after we die, there’s a place we can go to work off our sins is totally false. But because of that false doctrine, other false doctrines have to come into play. The Roman Catholic can never teach the rapture because you have to go to purgatory. You can’t go up and meet the Lord in the air. And by the way, you can’t be absent from the body present with the Lord as it says in 2 Corinthians 5, 8, because you have to be absent from the body present purgatory for about 100,000 years.
So you can’t possibly go directly to be with the Lord. So every bad doctrine creates more bad doctrines and they all conflict and they don’t make any sense. In 1215 AD they instituted transubstantiation. That’s where we said the bread and the wine has transformed magically into the body and of Christ. In 141580 the communion cup was taken from the laity. So only the priest drinks from the cup during the mass, and the laity only has the little wafer. And that certainly doesn’t meet what communion was about or the Lord’s supper, but in the mass, only the priest drinks from the cup that was decreed in 1415.
In 1439 the doctrine of purgatory was decreed. In 1439 the seven sacraments were confirmed. In the year 1500 tradition was made equal with the Bible. We find in 1854 they came up with a doctrine of the Immaculate Conception of Mary. That was a doctrine that explained the fact that Christ was sinless. They said that Mary was born sinless. So the Immaculate Conception really has nothing to do with Christ’s birth. It has to do with Mary’s birth. That she was conceived without sin.
And that’s how they explained that Christ was without sin because Mary had no sin. But if you read Luke 1, 47, Mary confesses that she’s a sinner. So if you read the Bible, you’ll find it is obviously contradictory. Also the infallibility of the pope wasn’t declared until 1870 and so on. So many doctrines have been changing right down through time and that’s just a few that we’re mentioning here. But notice here in verse 20 that this woman, apparently a woman who claimed to be a prophet has had a great influence in church history during this time, somewhere between the 18th centuries, all these things took place.
She taught his servants to commit fornication and to eat things sacrificed in the idols. Verse 21, he says, I gave her space to repent of her fornication. That’s her spiritual adultery and she repented not. So this period comes to a close because of the church going further into corruption and not carrying the message. But look at verse 22, and this is most amazing. Behold, I will cast her into to a bed and them that committed adultery with her that it’s others outside of this church system into great tribulation.

He’s the only remedy, the only provision that God has given for your sin. If you reject Him and hear the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is a rejection of Him by saying that He’s not who He claims to be. He is not the Savior. He’s not the Messiah.
He’s an imposter, a fraud, a counterfeit, a charlatan, a deceiver. and he heals, but he does it by the power of Satan. And so it says, he that she’ll blast him against the Holy Spirit have never forgiven us, but is in danger. Is in danger of eternal damnation. That means he still can change his mind before he dies and trusts the Lord. He’s in danger of eternal damnation because if he dies rejecting Christ, he’ll go to hell. And the answer is verse 30.
Write it down. Mark it down. Mark 3.30 says, because they said, because they said, because they said, he Christ hath an unclean spirit. If you reject the person of Christ, if you say he’s not, he’s not. God who took on flesh. If you say that he’s just a man, but he used Satan as the power to heal people, then you’re rejecting the person of Christ and the Bible says you’re in danger of eternal damnation. But just as the dying thief trusted Jesus Christ in his dying moments, hanging there on the cross and was saved so you could change your mind before you die and become saved, but my friend I wouldn’t waste another minute because it could be that you could be killed suddenly, you could die suddenly, and you would not have time to put your trust in Christ as Savior.
And so certainly you don’t want to risk that. So you need to trust Christ wherever you are right now. I would just suggest this prayer, just tell the Lord, Lord, I am a sinner. I recognize that I have done things wrong. But I trust Jesus Christ right now as my Savior, as my only hope of heaven, as the one who died to forgive my sins and paid for them in full by his death at the cross, by his death and shed blood, was buried and rose again from the dead.
I trust Jesus Christ right now to save me, and God will save you. It’s the most wonderful truth you’ll ever hear. And the moment you trust the gospel message, the message of the death, the burial, the resurrection of Christ, God saves you and you become His eternally. And wow, that is obviously good news. And so all sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and all blasphemies were with, so ever they shall blaspheme. But if you reject Christ by saying that Christ is not God who healed in the flesh and the human body that he took on by the power of the Holy Spirit, if you say he is an imposter, he is not the Savior, then you are in danger of eternal damnation and it says here in the text in Mark 3.30 because they said he Christ, half an unclean spirit.
Well you know, this passage is frightened some because they’ve gotten a wrong explanation as to what this is all about. But the Bible is quite clear here in this passage and mark that it’s a rejection of Christ because they said he Christ had an unclean spirit. To attribute the works of Christ to Satan and not to the Holy Spirit is the blasphemy, it’s a rejection of Christ. say, denial that he is the Savior, the one that had been promised by the prophets and came and died for you and me.
But when you trust him, then you’re saved forever. And there’s no chance that you can ever commit the sin once you’re saved. Because once you’re saved, you’re saved forever. Christ will never test you out. John 637, He’ll never lose you. John 639, you are saved and saved forever. I tell people you’re stuck. You’re stuck. You have to go to heaven, whether you like it or not. You gotta run. Keep looking up. Jesus is coming and we believe He’s coming soon.
