Now please open your Bible to the book of Revelation chapter 22 and join us as we conclude Dr. Lynch from teaching in this series. By the sight of the river of life, plucking fruit off the tree of life and enjoying a pleasant drink from this water that’s absolutely pristine and pure and coming from the throne of God. Verse 3, there shall be no more curse.
The earth has delivered from the curse once and for all of forever. The throne of God and the Lamb shall be in it and mark the last phrase, his servants shall what? Serve him. Will we be sitting on a harp just floating around endlessly on a cloud with a harp, playing a harp all day long? No. His servants shall serve him. So we’ll all be serving him. And most people imagine a boring time in heaven sitting on a cloud.
And so many people miss what the Bible has to say and it’s going to be an exciting time. And they shall see his face. That’s the face of Jesus. We’re going to say in 1 John 3, 2, we shall see him. Right now we are the sons of God, and we know not what it shall be, but we know that when we see him, we shall be like him. And so we’re going to see him. We’ll see Jesus, God in flesh, in heaven there.
In his name shall be men in their foreheads. There shall be no night there, and they shall need no candle nor light of the sun for the Lord God. Give them light, and they shall reign forever and ever. And then it says in verse 6, he said to me, these things are faithful and true, and the Lord God of the Holy Prophet sent his angel to show unto his servants, the things must surely be done. And then it says in verse 7, Jesus says, behold, I come quickly, blessed or happy as he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
And misconstraintly, this book can bring a lot of excitement and joy, can it? Can you imagine to know what our future holds, where we’re going to live for eternity, what we’ll be doing, allSTDOUT for us. And I John saw these things and heard them. Verse 8, again we see that phrase, I saw them. We believe John experienced time travel. That he was caught into the future and didn’t write what he heard, but write what he saw and heard. So there he was, I witnessed in the future.
He saw the tribulation period take place. He saw the second coming. He saw the millennial kingdom. He saw the destruction of this earth. He saw the judgment of the unsaved dead and the casting of Satan and his angels into the everlasting like a fire and he saw the new Jerusalem and the place where we’ll live forever and so on and so on. And he says, I write the things that I saw and the things that I heard. And when I heard and heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel, which showed me these things.
And then he said to me, see thou do it not, for I am thy fellow servant and of thy brethren, not an angel, but of thy brethren of prophets and of them which keep the sayings of this book what does he say again worship Mary worship the saints worship angels no he says worship weapp God To worship any person, but God himself is wrong, forbidden. He saved them to be sealed not saying to the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand.
If you remember all the way back when we started, it began immediately. The whole church ages described in chapters two and three. The past 2000 years of church history began immediately right there from when John was writing. And then we see the rapture pictured in chapter four verse one, where John says I saw a door open in heaven and a voice that sounded like a trumpet saying, come up hither. and John was caught up a picture of the church being caught out.
The church is no longer in the book of Revelation, but has been raptured out. And then we have the tribulation period underway in chapter 4 verse 2 on. Then it says here in verse 11, he that is unjust, let him be unjust still. He that is filthy, let him be filthy still. Once for an eternity the lost will be lost forever. The lost will be wicked forever. The lost will be unjust forever. The lost will be filthy forever. And then says that he did his righteous, letting me righteous still, and he did his holy, letting me holy still.
In other words, from that point on, there’s no changing, the saved are saved forever, the lost are lost forever, and that’s the way it’ll be forever and ever and ever and ever. So once you die without Christ, it’s forever too late. Notice at this point on, when the millennium is over, then when finally all the lost are cast into hell, they’ll never get out of hell. They’ll never get out of hell. They’ll be there forever and ever. Torment a day and night forever and the save will be with the Lord forever and ever.
Verse 12, Jesus says, Behold, I come quickly. My reward is with me. He’s reminding us now about rewards again. What a theme all the way through that reward is with me to give to every man according as his work shall be. Whatever we do for the Lord is going to be rewarded. He’s reminding us, He’s uncoming. And of course for us, He’s coming up for us at the Rapture. And then of course we know He’s coming in the Second Coming later to set up the Kingdom.
And Christ says, I’m coming, and I’m coming with my reward. I want to reward you according as your work shall be. Verse 13, Jesus says, I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. That identifies Him as God. Remember Isaiah 44, 6, where Jehovah says, I am the first and the last. Jesus claims that he’s the first in the last. Tremendous proof that he is with a Jehovah’s Witness that might come to your door, that Jesus is the same as Jehovah.
He is the first in the last. Verse 14, Blessed are they that do his commandments. Let me stop. Schofield helps us out. It shouldn’t read that way. Schofield points out it should read Blessed are they that wash their robes. And how that transcribing error took place, I don’t know. Schofield points out it shouldn’t read that way. notices is, blessed are they the washer robes that they may have right to the tree of life and enter through the gates into the city.
We’re not saved by keeping the commandments. We’re saved by trusting Christ. And you’ll notice, go feel again, comes through for us and points out this should read, blessed are they that wash their robes that they may have right to the tree of life and may enter in through the gates into the city. So it’s those who have washed their robes by the blood of Christ that are eligible for heaven. He says in verse 15, those that are without heaven or without the city are dogs.
He speaks about humans and their character. And Christ spoke about those around the bottom of the cross as being dogs. How they like to gain strength in a pack. And they turned their hatred toward Christ who was dying for them. It says, and sorcerers and hormones and murderers and idolaters. And whosoever what? Loveth. and whosoever make it a lie. One lie would keep you out of heaven. If you die without Christ, you’ll not be saved. This phrase is interesting here, Whosoever Loveth.
I talked to an evangelistic group that called my church about two years ago, and I asked the girl, I said, I would like to know that you’re on the same page with us, or I can’t work with your evangelistic group. And I asked what you had to do to be saved, and she said you had to love God. I said, it doesn’t say that anywhere in the Bible. I said, did you know you can hate God and go to heaven?
This girl almost came through the phone at me. Obviously, it’s not consistent. If you trust Jesus as your Savior, you ought to love Him because He first loved us. But nowhere does it tell us that we have to love God to be saved. We have to trust Jesus as our Savior. It’s a common thing in Christian circles today. They’ll say things like, love God. God loves you. God and they make it if you love God then you’ll be saved.

Lindstrom answering questions from callers. and welcome to Bibleline hello there I have a question for you I want to have a discussion with a Greek Orthodox friend of mine and he was saying that baptism well he’s wrong because of Mark 1616 I don’t believe he’s talking about water most people don’t realize is that there are ten different baptisms taught in the New Testament and most people who are just barely into the Bible see the word baptize and their minds lock up and they think water, water, water.
They can’t get beyond water. Obviously, in the gospel of Mark, it’s introduced with John the Baptist saying in chapter 1 verse 8, I indeed have baptized you with water. John the Baptist said that, but he, Christ shall baptize you with the Holy Spirit. That’s the end of water there in Mark’s gospel. And you get to chapter 16. Christ has already been crucified. He’s now risen from the dead. And he’s the one that says he that believeth and is baptized since he’s the one that’s speaking and the baptism that saves that Christ himself will baptize with is the baptism of the Holy Spirit introduced in chapter 1 verse 8.
I believe he’s talking about he that believeth and his baptized or cleansed or washed by Christ baptism with the Holy Spirit is the one that’s saved. I don’t believe it’s water at all. Well, I can appreciate what you’re saying here. He however speaks fluent Greek and he’s saying that we just don’t understand the we can translate it but we don’t understand the nuances and the poetry of the language and because that in one eight that’s actually John the Baptist speaking in that Christ he says that only the Christ words are what the Greek Orthodox use and that’s the only thing the first only out of the first four gospels and it really lend a lot of credence to anything in the rest of the New Testament even though I tried to get him to admit that it was the inherent word of God.
So I was just trying to figure out how I can show him that baptism, there are ten different kind of baptisms. Well, you know, if you get them, Matthew chapter three, you have four of them in one little short passage there. And Matthew chapter three, you have the baptism that John the Baptist baptized with. Then you have the two that Christ will baptize with. John the Baptist said that Christ will baptize with the Holy Spirit and with fire, which the The one is the one that you need to have salvation, the baptism with all the spirit.
But the baptism of fire is hell, where it says that they’ll be cast into a furnace of fire. They’ll be burned up, obviously, which is hell, which Christ will cast those that are lost into hell. So He’s the one that does both of those baptisms. Then we have His own baptism and ask Him if Christ needed to be baptized for salvation, because obviously He did not. Christ was baptized there by John the Baptist, but it was a work of righteousness, he said.
And in Titus 3.5 it says, we’re not saved by works of righteousness, but we’re saved by God’s mercy through faith in Jesus Christ. And he said, Christ says it’s a work of righteousness when he gets baptized by John the Baptist. So it’s a work. And we’re not saved by works, which is quite clear. So where does he say that specifically? In chapter 3 verse 15 of Matthew. He said, suffer to be so now that we might fulfill this work of righteousness.
Christ was really beginning his ministry and the Old Testament priest when 30 years of age would be totally immersed, totally baptized. And that’s what Christ was doing. His priesthood, his ministry began at the baptism there with John the Baptist and he was now marking the beginning of his ministry and it was nothing to do with salvation at all. And you’re saying the Jewish priest at 30 years of age were all baptized? That’s right, by a total immersion in the Old Testament.
We have Brian in Tampa, Florida. Brian, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Maybe I don’t have the right line here. Let’s see here. How about Brian, welcome to Bibleline? Hank? Yes. Hey, God bless. How are you? Good. Good morning. I just got so much out of your answer to the man’s question. I was wondering the same thing. He was wondering. I mean, I know we’re safe and that’s it. But when God said, you know, no liar and no murderer, and this next would enter.
I had a question come up my mind and you answered it once you paid for that then you’ve been saved. So you may have been those things but you’ve been delivered and you’ve been covered by the blood. Exactly. You’re no longer seen as a liar anymore. You’re seen as righteous in Christ. No, we continue to sin. We repent and we really truly… In our actual… There’s a difference between our standing and our state. As in our standing, we’re righteous before God.
In our actual state, we still have a sinful nature and still sin, and we need to deal with that. And allow the Lord’s Holy Spirit to give us victory over sin in our life. No doubt about it. We are seen by God positionally as righteous as though we were God himself. According to the Bible, at the moment you believe in forever thereafter. Thanks, Hank. Two things, and I’ll make you quick so others can get in. As far as repentance, I’ve heard you speak about it before.
You know when the Bible talks about when the Lord repents, we know that He says, I am the Lord, I do not change. Does repentance mean to actually change your mind, or does it also mean both that and turn from sin, or just one or the other? It just means change your mind. It does not mean turn from sin. The English word repent means that, but that was a bad translation in 1611. But doesn’t he say that He doesn’t change?
Well, what it’s saying is that the Lord does not change His mind, He does not repent. Although the word is used for God repenting in the Old Testament, sometimes it gives the appearance that he repented. For example, when Jonah preached to Nineveh and he spared the city, it appeared that God had changed his mind because he was going to destroy the city. But in reality, he was going to destroy them if they didn’t respond to the message. Basically, God repented of the evil that he was going to do to Nineveh.
But in reality God never really changes mine He would have destroyed them had they not responded to the message in the preaching of Jonah because of their change To not go through that’s exactly right one more thing What do you believe about the damn Sabbath whether it’s a seventh day or I know there’s a lead that First day, okay, the Sabbath has always been Friday night sundown the Saturday night sundown that Saturday Sunday is the worship day as Christ set that for us by coming back from the dead on the first day of week.
His next major appearance was on the eighth day and this present age where God has turned to us Gentiles the church age began on Pentecost which was a Sunday and then if you read in the book of Acts and in the epistles of Paul the early Christians met on the first day of the week. So the first day of the week is when we worship but the Sabbath is still Saturday and the Jews observe the Sabbath. So you agreed that the Sabbath is still Saturday, the seventh day, but I agree with you about the first day he was written, of course, is a day for worship.
That’s awesome. Yes. You’re still agreeing that the seventh day remains the seventh. Absolutely. Okay, that’s wonderful. Because I heard it the other day and I came in the middle and I wasn’t sure what you were saying, but I’m glad to hear it. Because the seventh day of the day he rested and was refreshed and that’s forever. Absolutely. You haven’t been Eric like you say and and the status doesn’t change But like you said the first day that there was sunlight and he was risen.
Yeah, you’re right. That’s an awesome day to worship Amen Hey, man. Thanks for your time. Thank you Brian. That was Brian in Tampa, Florida Lillian in Stoner Lake, New York just called in she says the Apostles Creed reads that Christ is sent it into hell Before he rose again. Where does the Bible back this up? And of course it doesn’t that’s false That’s why I don’t like to recite the Apostles Creed. It’s wrong. Christ did go to paradise in the heart of the earth.
You might remember Matthew 1240. He said he would be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Then he tells the dying thief in Luke 23 43 that he would be with him in Paradise. So we know Christ went to paradise. Paradise was in the heart of the earth. On the third day He emptied the place out. All the Old Testament saints were there waiting for their sins to be forgiven. Now they are present with the Lord and everybody that dies this side of the cross.
Now are absent from the body, present with the Lord. Second Corinthians 5’8, absent from the body, present with the Lord. Lillian, thank you for that call from Stoner Lake, New York. We now have Ken in Clearwater Florida. Ken, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yeah, hi there. This is a verse here in 1 John 2 that I think I need some help with. Every time I’m reading that book of the Bible, I sort of take a double take at this.
I think it’s 15, where it says, love not the world, need of the things that are in the world. If any man loved the world, the love of the Father is not in him. I don’t know if I’m taking the world as too all-inclusive. I don’t think we should be penalized for loving the beauty of nature and all the creations of God. And basically everything is, in fact, is come down to it as a creation of God. I know Jesus said, love your neighbors and obviously the neighbors are in the world.
Am I taking the world as too all-inclusive? So I think it’s talking about the fleshly things that our body and our… The next verse I think gives insight to that because it says, all that is in the world and here is the list, three things. The same three things that caused Adam and Eve to… Or Eve at least to be deceived in the garden was the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life.
And the pride of life we know that when Eve was tempted she was told that she would be like God if she hated that fruit. Of course, that was prideful and she wanted that. Of course, the lust of the flesh, being hungry, the fruit looked like something tasty to try. Of course, the lust of the eyes, we find that it says it was a very beautiful fruit and so it was attractive as well. Basically, the things in this world that are really in contrast to the things that are of real value, eternal things are obviously the things that would lure us away from getting the rewards and the blessings God would have for us here.
Christ was tempted in those same three areas. When he was hungry, Satan said, you know, you can turn these stones to bread. And of course, Christ counted him every time with the Word of God, as he quoted the Old Testament, and he said, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. He also was tempted with pride. Satan said, if you’ll only fall down and worship me, I will give you all these kingdoms of the world, which is a bona fide offer.
Satan is still the God of this world, and it’s not until the Second Coming of Christ that the kingdoms of this world are taken away from Satan, and Christ becomes the king over this earth. As Revelation 11, 15 says, the kingdoms of this world at the Second Coming are now become the kingdoms of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign for ever and ever. That day is coming up. But basically the thought here is in verse 17, the world passes of the way.
So don’t put your focus on things that are going to pass away. If you’re building up everything in this world, your house here is going to one day be gone, your car will be gone, your bank account will be gone, your life will be gone. But only the things that are done for Christ are really going to last. And so the Bible here is talking about don’t fall in world with a temporary world that is not going to be a lasting thing.
We’re going to pass through this world. And I like that old hymn that says, this world is not my home. I’m just passing through. My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue. I think that’s the concept that it’s saying here is that we need to realize that we’re just simply passing through here maybe 70, 80 years, maybe 90 years, and then we’re out of here. And we don’t want to fall in love with this place because we’re going to leave it behind.
We need to really focus on the things which are going to bring about eternal reward. And maybe you could help me find another verse. I just read it a few days ago, but now I can’t find it. Sort of dovetails for what we were saying before. It’s a real short force, sort of like the definition of an overcomer there in first John, but it basically says, you know, what righteous people are, righteousness is believing in Jesus. If you talk about the word overcomer, first John five, four and five, I find the overcomer as a believer.
You would look like a definition just like that. It was so clear to me when I read it, I said, you know, the righteous are basically those that believe in Christ. I don’t know if it’s in first John, or I saw it when I Paul’s writings, It was, well the righteous are the believers. You know, it says in Romans 3, 23, all that believe are made righteous by faith. But when I saw it this time, it was basically almost like a definition spelled out.
Yeah, I’m not too sure what verse you’re referring to. You’re absolutely right. The Bible does teach that. But what verse you’re thinking of, I can’t think off the top of my head. Okay, appreciate it. You’re welcome. Thank you, Ken. That was Ken in Clearwater, Florida. Bibleline will be back in a moment. To pledge your support for Bibleline, give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. If you have your Bible there open, if you will, to Mark chapter 3. Here we have the unpardonable sin. It says here in Mark chapter 3 in verse 28, Jesus says, all sins shall be forgiven into the sons of men, and blasphemies, wherewith, soever they shall blaspheme, but he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit hath never forgiven us, but is in danger of eternal damnation.
Well, what is this sin? And of course, a lot of people get nervous when they read about this particular sin and you might want to look at it too. It’s Mark chapter 3 verse 28 and 29. Some have imagined that the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is to curse using the name of the Holy Spirit. But you know, I’ve never heard anybody do that ever in my life. I’ve heard people curse and take the name of Jesus in vain and the name of God in vain, I’ve never heard anybody maybe stub their toe or hit their finger with a hammer and say, Holy Spirit, have you ever heard that?
I’ve never heard it done. So obviously that’s not the sin. And others have imagined that it’s something that could cause you to lose your salvation. It’s not that at all. This is talking to a lost group. Jesus had healed in the context here a man that was blind and dumb so that he both spanked and saw. religious leaders couldn’t deny the healing, but they did reject who Christ claims to be, that is the Messiah, the Savior, God in flesh.
And so they said, yes, He heals, but He does it by the power of Satan, not by the power of the Holy Spirit. And so what the sin against the Holy Spirit turns out to be is the rejection of Christ to say that Christ healed by Satan’s power, that He was not the Messiah, that He was not the Savior that he was an imposter, a fraud, a counterfeit, a charlatan, a deceiver, and not the Messiah of the Savior, the Son of God, the One who could bring you salvation.
And the answer here is so clear in Mark’s Gospel, if you have your Bible open, look at verse 30. It says here in verse 29, He that shall blaspheme against the Holy Spirit have never forgiven us, but is in danger of eternal damnation because they said, because they said, here’s the answer. Verse 30, because they said, He Christ hath an unclean spirit. So it was really to say that Christ had a demon or Satan using the power of Satan to heal and not the power of the Holy Spirit.
So that was the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. To attribute the works of Christ to Satan and not to the Holy Spirit was the blasphemy. It’s actually a rejection of Christ, it’s the same as that of unbelief. When you die, if you die as an unbeliever, you will go to hell. You will not enter heaven. And there is no second chance. But if you trust Christ as your Savior while you’re living, before you die, you will go to heaven.
And in John 3, 18, Christ makes the same unpardonable sin clear that it’s a rejection of Christ. He says in John 3 18, he that believeth on the sun, it says is not condemned. But he that believeth not the sun is condemned already. And then the answer is because he hath not believed because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. So there are two groups in this world, those that believe in those that believe not, those that have trusted Christ, those that have not trusted Christ.
Those that have trusted Christ, John 3 18, are not condemned. Now, nor forever in the future. Those that have not believed on Christ, the Bible says are condemned already. They are already condemned, they are already headed for help. Why? Because they have not believed on the name of the only being the Son of God. You see, Jesus, when He died, paid for every imaginable sin that you could ever commit. And Jesus says that in John, Rather in Mark 3, 28, all sins Jesus says, Verily I say unto you, all sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men and blasphemies, wherewithsoever they shall blaspheme.
So every sin you could ever commit your whole lifetime was taken by God and laid upon Jesus Christ at the cross and He paid for them in full by His death at the cross. Then we find that if you reject that provision that Christ made though, then you’re going to be in deep trouble. Because there’s only one way that your sins might be forgiven. Your works won’t do it. Your church membership will not do it. What a baptism will not do it.
Nothing you can name or do. We’ll get rid of your sin. There’s only one Savior. Christ, He’s the only remedy, the only provision that God has given for your sin. We’re going to rejoin stations that have been on breaking to the second half hour by one. So don’t go away. Would you like to help Bibleline continue in your area? You can. Please make plans to join us and open your Bible as we also present in-depth studies covering a variety of biblical topics. Now let’s return to our question and answer segment and then we’ll hear more Bible teaching from Dr. Hank Lindstrom. We’re now going to go to Rob in Largo, Florida. Rob, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.
Good morning Pastor Hank, brother. I just wanted to call it to tell you that I love you with my whole heart and I love your ministry and it is so awesome how your ministry has grown so fast. I remember the first day you came on the air and your faith, you know, in your little town over there in Tampa and you have just spread all over the world, you know. Well, we’re absolutely amazed too. It’s just been five years and we started off with a little 15 minute program but God has blessed His Word which I believe that is the key to what God has blessed about this program as we kind of we just focus on the word of God all the time and honor his word and God is going to bless his word I’m sure.
Amen to that you know it says that the word of the Lord is proven. You know I hear people calling in and they talk about being saved you know putting their trust in Jesus as Savior and that’s so true because once we become born again because of that we become born again and now you talk about going on to having faith for work and we gain rewards. Yes. Galatians chapter five just explains this so well. You know, the first verse in five is, stand therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free and do not and be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
Amen. You know, there’s two things that we can work in. We can work in the fruit of the flesh or we can work in the fruit of the Spirit. If we bring every hidden sin to the throne and confess it as which one it is, other by the flesh or by the Spirit, we are empowered for the Spirit to go on by faith to make investments into that kingdom. And at the end it says on verse 26, let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
25 says, If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. July 27th at 2.22 a.m. in the morning, I had taken my first step in the Spirit. I had been saved for 16 years walking in the flesh and I was going around being conceited and provoking people and just doing all this crazy stuff thinking that, hey, God, watch this. something for you instead of being still and waiting on Lord and him empowering me to accomplish something out of faith for the kingdom of heaven.
Amen. Does that sound right? Yeah. Maratha’s great. You know, there’s a freedom to be had and it’s in Christ and it’s by making a decision to kick off the old flesh and walk in the new Amen. Thank you so much, Rob and Largo, Florida. We have now Rick in Richmond, Virginia. Rick, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hi, Pastor. How are you? Good. Listen, I’m having a little difficulty with someone who needs your help. Hebrews, chapter 12. Okay.
And verse Verse 17. All right, I’m almost there. Hebrews chapter 12 in verse 17 says, for you know how that afterward this is talking about Esau, when he would have inherited the blessing he was rejected for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears. The repentance that he was trying to seek was to get his dad to change his mind. The The dad had given the blessing to his brother because Esau had sold it for that pot of soup.
Now he’s using tears to try to manipulate his dad in the changing his mind. And the dad would not change his mind. The dad says, the one I’ve blessed is blessed and the other one is not. And so Esau cried. You know how children do it. Of course he wasn’t a child at this point. He was an adult. to use tears to try to manipulate his parent, but his father Isaac said I’m not changing my mind. I’ve always thought Hebrews was kind of harsh and I’ve always kind of stayed away from it because it scares me.
I guess when I… You would love my CD series. I did it last semester. I did 10 hours of teaching on Hebrews and I particularly focused on the difficult passages. And I think you’ll find that will free you up from that fear if you want to really go through it. My CD series has been a wonderful help to a lot of people. What scares me the most is, you know, in my past, as you know, because I’ve been a Christian for many, many, many, many years, and of course, unfortunately I have back slid into a point where I’ve done some crazy things, I’ve done some outrageous things, and you know, come to a point in your life, of course, the Holy Spirit does bring you back.
And you wonder, and I guess this is normal, you wonder, okay, am I saved? Yes, I’m safe. The devil’s throwing things at you to keep you down. But I know God forgives. Do you follow me, Pastor? Absolutely I do. And here in the case of Jacob and Esau, when he saw that birthright, he could never get that back. And there are some things that you can never reclaim in your past, which if you’ve wasted it, you haven’t lived for the Lord, but you can start from right now and build from where you are.
And maybe you’ve already been doing that. But then God can bless that. But obviously what has passed has passed and you’re not going to be able to change the past. And even though he saw here, tried to manipulate his dad, he couldn’t change the past. He had sold his birthright and now that rightfully belonged to Jacob and Isaac was not going to change his mind about it. All right. One more question. When God chastens the one he loves, okay?
When he correct? Yes. How do you think he goes about doing that? Well, lots of different ways. You can read lots of examples in 1 Corinthians, chapter 11 verse 30 of 1 Corinthians says that the Corinthian believers, many of them were weak, many of them were sickly, and many of them were dead. So in some instances, the Lord might take you home to have an early. Sometimes it’s just a gentle nudging of the Lord to get you back in line.
But if you are resistant and you’re not going to listen to the Holy Spirit dealing in your life, might have to get a little bit rougher with you, but he can get your attention. But you believe that hopefully I don’t think I believe the Holy Spirit, even though no matter what we do, we’re still children of God and he’s not going to leave us all we have to do is repent. Mm. No, it’s just change of mind and turn from it.
You’re safe forever, right? Once you trust the Lord, you’re his son, you’re his son forever. I was born into my folks family and I was their son, whether I was obedient or not obedient. But my intimacy with my parents was based upon my obedience. If I was obedient, I usually got my allowance and I usually got privileges on the weekend. But if I was disobedient, I was usually restricted, I lost my allowance and now the privilege is true with God.
When God, when you’re obedient, He’s going to bless you and reward you. If you don’t, you’re going to find yourself restricted in some way he might cripple you a little bit. But do you believe that God hides himself from you until he decides to come back? I mean, to speak to you through the Word and speak through you through the Holy Spirit. I think he’s never hiding. I think it’s us that depart from him, not God that departs from us.
Fantastic. Thank you, Pastor. All right, you’re sure welcome. Thank you, Rick. In Richmond, Virginia, we have Carl. He’s driving right now in a truck in Sarasota, Florida and Carl, welcome to Bible I New you are on the air wow hello a i have kind of a two-fold question i know you can’t lose your salvation even once you say that’s it right you are you believe in crisis you know you’re stuck you have to go to heaven whether you like it or not what’s that you’re stuck you’re stuck at the good yeah but i have the second thing that even made me doubt it was the part of the bible where it says even warmongers and uh…
one of cadence to not take part in the kingdom. If you’re born again, what is it? Well, what it means is that any sin, and those are some of the big ones, but any sin, even a single lie, Revelation 21, 27 says, not even a lie can enter into heaven. So the point is that any sin unpaid for would take you to hell, but Jesus Christ paid for all of them. Once you trust Christ, God sees you as righteous.
He doesn’t see you as a sinner any longer. He doesn’t see you as a hormonger or as a liar or a thief or whatever because he’s already paid for those sins. So according to God’s word, the Bible says that a believer is seen by God as righteous as God. 2 Corinthians 5, 21 says that God made Christ to be sin for us, Christ who knew no sin, That we might be made the righteousness of God and Him. So we are seen by God as righteous once we trust Christ.
Now that doesn’t mean we can live as we please or that we have a license to send. God will discipline or spank the delinquent believer and will also stand accountable for our works one day. And rewards or loss of reward in heaven is going to be based upon what we’ve done. But salvation is a gift and there’s nothing that we can do to gain and earn it, except receive it from the hand of God based upon what Christ did for us at the cross.
So we’re safe forever. That’s awesome because I’ve talked to a lot of people about it because I feel pretty confident in what I know. But every now and then there will be people who act like they know a lot and like there are some people that say that unrighteous people will not get into heaven. I’m like, once you’re born again, you’re going, period. Exactly. The unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God, the Bible says. But when you trust Christ, you become righteous in God’s sight, not because of your deeds, but because of the righteousness of Christ that is credited to your account.
When Calvary took place, he took our sin. When we trusted, he paid our sin debt in full. He exchanges his righteousness for our sin so that the believer is seen as righteous as God. Great. Thank you so much. Okay, Carl. Thanks for calling in. Okay. That was Carl down in Sarasota, Florida. being right now as we speak in a truck. Joyce has another question from Charlottesville, New York. She says, what if someone does not believe all of his life and becomes like a vegetable, now he can’t think, can they still be saved?
Joyce, once you trust Christ, it’s irreversible. So from that moment on, you’re saved no matter what future thing happens in your life. Let me quote to you, Romans 8, verse 38 and 39, where it says, I am persuaded. Greek word means thoroughly convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor death, nor any other creation shall be able to separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.
There is nothing that can undo your salvation once once you become saved. So obviously, once you become saved, you’re saved forever. Now, if they’re not saved and they become a vegetable and they go into that state while they’re an unbeliever, then no, they cannot be saved and they’ll be lost. You need to get saved while you can. Isaiah 55, 7 says, seek the Lord while He is near. While you have your opportunity come your way. There is a day coming when you will not be able to make that decision.
And that’s why people shouldn’t put off trusting Christ as Savior. You could get in a car accident, go into a coma and never be able to make that decision for Christ to trust Him as your only hope of heaven. Christ by His death and shed blood paid your full sin debt. That wraps up today’s question and answer segment. As believers in Jesus, there is no know whether topic that is more important to us than the gospel of Jesus Christ, and it was Dr.
Hank Lindstrom’s mission to spread the gospel. Join us now as we continue today’s teaching series from Dr.
Hank Lindstrom. There’s a little bit of that, by the way, I hate to say this, I get to suffer trouble at the 40 days of purpose in the video I have Rick Warren says that how you live your life will determine where you spend eternity. And I’ve been watching the video presentation and he talks a lot about that our whole purpose is the love God. And apparently it’s that kind of a message it comes across. What is interesting to me about the whole series, Forgetting In A Land, is that look it’s on almost every church advertisement board when all churches can agree with the book.
Something has to be wrong or weak. Jesus said, be where would all men speak well of you? And if you read carefully, and I’ll have to pull the video out and show you the clip, but he actually says that, and I don’t think it’s a slip of the mouth, I think that’s what he’s saying. That basically… And it’s usually Christ plus works that people believe in. I notice every ism and spasm has that marquee, we’re doing 40 days of purpose.
It’s amazing. But read the book carefully. The very fact that he uses 250-some translations bothers me because most of these modern translations just totally distort what God said in his word and need to be watched out for. We’ll probably edit this out of the tape. I’m going to have lots of people get mad at me now because they all are doing the 40 days of purpose. But I believe we have to be on the alert and watch carefully for what is being said because otherwise we’re candidates for deception and the deception is out there.
Did you know what a deceived person doesn’t know he’s deceived or he wouldn’t be deceived? That’s heavy. A deceived person doesn’t know he’s deceived. If he knew he was being deceived, he wouldn’t be deceived. That’s what deception is all about. And this deception is really getting stronger as we approach the Lord’s return. The Bible said they would not endure sound doctrine, but they’d be turned on the lies or fables. And we see it happening everywhere. Just like this little church tract I just read a moment ago.
They say here, taking the Bible seriously doesn’t mean you have to take it literally. It says here, God continues to speak through the actions and words of persons today just as in times long ago. And then it induces the pastor, has his picture there. Apparently, God is speaking through him today as he did in the Old Testament times in the prophets and the apostles. Stay away from a church like that, for sure. You want to get struck by lightning.
That’s a place not to attend. All right. It says here in verse 16, I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root in the offspring of David. I am the bride and morning star. Verse 17, again, God’s compassion and heart shines through a final invitation, a final warning to trust him before he closes out the book. The Spirit and the bride say what? Come. Let him that heareth say come.
Let him that is a thirst come, and whosoever will, let him take of the water of life how? Freely. Invitation of the Bible has simply come. Salvation has been paid for. It’s all been done. There’s nothing for you to do. Just come. have to do is come. And take of the water of life how freely it’s offered free. It’s a gift. Then verse 18 and 19 are a warning in that context. If you change God’s plan of salvation, if you change the presentation that God gave concerning Jesus Christ and what He did for us at the cross of Calvary, you’ll be lost.
You can only change it in two ways. By addition or subtraction, verse 18 He says about addition. I testify on every man and hear the words of the prophecy of this book, which is about Jesus. If any man ad and people have added what? Confirmation, baptism, church membership, prayers, penance, mass, all kinds of things which are added. And if you add those as conditions of salvation, my friend, God, shall add unto you the plagues that are written in this book the most severe of which is in chapter 14 of being cast into eternal lake of fire.
You’ll go to hell. The other way you can change the message, verse 19, if any man take away from the words of the book of his prophecy, God shall take away his part of the book of life and out of the holy city and from the things which are written in this book. All the cults do that too, don’t they? No hell. Jesus is not God. Denied the tonight, salvation, my faith, deny the resurrection of Christ. And so many things they take away and deny.
Wow, that means that Jones witnesses will go to hell. The Seventh-day Adventists will go to hell. The Christian scientists will go to hell. And on and on and on, all of the different groups. But you don’t have to be in one of those groups that are obviously wrong. You can be in mainstream Christianity where they are taking away or adding to and changing or altering. God doesn’t allow for that. Think about it in a business deal. You go to the car dealership.
You see a car you like. They bring out a contract that has the terms, the interest, the payments, everything there. They ask you to sign on the dotted line. You grab it, you read it over and you start changing things. You change the purchase price. You change the interest rate. You change the payments schedule. And then you sign it and handed back. Do you have a deal? If you add or change anything on that contract without the permission of the dealership that’s offering you the car, it’s null and void instantly.
You have no contract. God says, I’m going to save all those that will simply come. I paid for salvation. You simply receive it as a gift. He said, I’m going to add some baptism. I’m going to add some prayers. I’m going to live in a Christian life and I’m going to add God says, no contract. Boy. No salvation for you. You have no right nor do does anyone to change your faith alone in Christ. You’ll go to hell. That’s what he’s saying in verse 18 and 19.
A warning, don’t tamper with my offer of salvation that’s free through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. You tamper with that. You do not pass go. You do not collect $200. You do not make heaven. you wind up in hell. Verse 20, he which testify of these things sayeth, that’s Jesus. Surely I come quickly. Hasn’t been long since he was here the first time. Wasn’t. Two thousand years. But you remember Peter said one day is with the Lord is a thousand years and a thousand years is a day.
It’s only been two days. And Christ is ready to come back. Wow. responds to that and says amen and he says even so come Lord Jesus. John says come on I’m waiting for you to come back already. And then verse 21 concludes the book the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all amen. It’s over. Alright we ought to applaud the book that’s for sure because what a wonderful study. I’m excited I don’t know about you but I’m excited about it all and I know that we’re getting close to when it all wraps up.
I just have a video slide presentation that I wish I could share to all of you here, but it’s about the chip. And right now Motorola has combined with Vera chip in West Palm to produce a chip they call Mondex. Mondex is a word that means money on your hand. Money on your hand, that’s what it means. And they They’re now starting to produce them in mass. And the needle shows how they can slide the little chip. About the size of a grain of rice under your skin.
And it said that they did about a million and a half dollars worth of research to determine where to put that chip. And because it is powered by the body, temperature changes in your body, the two best places are in your right hand on the outside or in your forehead. The Bible says that he causes all, both small and great, to receive the mark, without which they will not be able to buy or sell in their right hand or in their forehead.
I mean, the technology is here. We are there. It can’t be too long because it’s here. Money on your hand is what they’re calling it. Motorola and Verechip have combined together now, and it’s called Money on Your Hand. They say if you try to remove it, the GPS will locate you, you’ll be turning to the authorities that will come after you. Once it’s in, you won’t be able to remove it. Interesting. Thanks for tuning in to Bibleline today. This program concludes Dr.

He’s the only remedy, the only provision that God has given for your sin. If you reject Him and hear the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is a rejection of Him by saying that He’s not who He claims to be, He is not the Savior. He’s not the Messiah.
He is an imposter, a fraud, a counterfeit, a charlatan, a seaver, and he heals, but he does it by the power of Satan. And so it says, he that shall blast him against the Holy Spirit hath never forgiven us, but is in danger of eternal damnation. That means he still can change his mind before he dies and trusts the Lord. He’s in danger of eternal damnation because if he dies rejecting Christ, he’ll go to hell. And the answer is verse 30.
Write it down, mark it down. Mark 3.30 says, because they said, because they said, because they said, he Christ hath an unclean spirit. If you reject the person of Christ, if you say he’s not God who took on flesh, if you say that he’s just a man but he is Satan as the power to heal people, then you’re rejecting the person of Christ and the Bible says you are in danger of eternal damnation. But just as the dying thief trusted Jesus Christ in his dying moments hanging there on the cross and was saved, so you could change your mind before you die and become saved.
But my friend, I wouldn’t waste another minute because it could be that you could be killed suddenly, you could die suddenly and you would not have time to put your trust in Christ as Savior. And so certainly you don’t want to risk that. So you need to trust Christ wherever you are right now. I would just suggest this prayer. Just tell the Lord, Lord, I am a sinner. I recognize that I’ve done things wrong. But I trust Jesus Christ right now as my Savior, as my only hope of heaven, as the one who died to forgive my sins, and paid for them in full by his death and to cross by his death and shed blood, was buried and rose again from the dead.
I trust Jesus Christ right now to save me, and God will save you. It’s the most wonderful truth you’ll ever hear. And the moment you trust the gospel message, the message of the death, the burial, the resurrection of Christ, God saves you and you become his eternally. And wow, that is obviously good news. And so all sins shall be forgiven under the sons of men. And all blasphemies, who are with soever they shall blaspheme. But if you reject Christ by saying that Christ is not God who healed in the flesh, in the human body that he took on by the power of the Holy Spirit, if you say he’s an imposter, not the Savior, then you’re in danger of eternal damnation, and it says here in the text in Mark 330, because they said, He Christ, half an unclean spirit.
Well, you know, this passage is frightened some because they’ve gotten a wrong explanation as to what this is all about. But the Bible is quite clear here in this passage in Mark that it’s a rejection of Christ, because they said, he Christ had an unclean spirit. To attribute the works of Christ to Satan and not to the Holy Spirit is the blasphemy. It’s a rejection of Christ. It’s a denial that he is the Savior, the one that had been promised by the prophets and came and died for you and me.
But when you trust him, then you’re saved forever. And there’s no chance that you could ever commit the sin once you’re saved. Because once you’re saved, you’re saved forever. Christ will He’ll never cast you out, John 637. He’ll never lose you, John 639. You are saved and saved forever. I tell people you’re stuck. You’re stuck. You have to go to heaven whether you like it or not. You’ve got to run. Keep looking up. Jesus is coming. And we believe He’s coming soon.
