That’s 1-800-576-3771. Once again, we would like to thank you, listener, for your prayers and support for Bibleline Ministries. God bless you. Well, good morning and welcome to Bibleline. I’m great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning into the broadcast. We appreciate you and all of our listeners, and we’re glad that you’ve tuned in today. Thank you for finding Bibleline, and we hope that you’ll enjoy today and also all the rest of the week as we come to you Monday through Friday from our studios right here in Tampa, Florida at the Calvary Community Church.

And we are, of course, looking forward to a great week and a wonderful time of being able to be with you. and I hope you’ll tune us in each and every day. Go to our website, BibleLineMinistries.org, and you can get our television programs by clicking on the TV picture there, and also you can get our worship services by clicking on the camera. That’s right, you can get this past Sunday sermon, you can get the one before that, the week before that, and a whole year’s worth of sermons are sitting there, and enjoy them.

We’re gonna be having in August the third Sunday a dinner again on the third Sunday. You’re welcome to come. That’s a great Sunday to come if you’re coming from a distance because you can come to the 1030 service then you can stay for the dinner and kind of make it a day. And we’re also having a baptism that afternoon at three in a lake nearby by the land headquarters. And so you’re welcome to be a part of that. If you’d like to be baptized, you know, if you haven’t been baptized since you’ve been saved, then you need to do that as a believer in obedience to Christ’s command.

Water baptism doesn’t save. Nobody has ever been saved by water, but we do find that the symbolism is there. The water is a picture of how we’re cleansed of our sin by the blood of Jesus Christ. And that, of course, is what it’s all about, giving testimony to what Christ has done. And so if you were baptized as an infant, that doesn’t count. If you are baptized prior to your getting saved, it doesn’t count. Believers baptism is exactly that.

It’s a testimony of the one who has already believed as to how they were cleansed under sin. I love this verse back in Jeremiah chapter 2 where it tells you not only will not, what or not take away your sin, but even if you took some strong soap, let me read Jeremiah 2 22. For though thou washed thee with nighter, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me, say of the Lord. So you could soak some place and use a lot of strong soap, and it wouldn’t take away one sin.

We could anchor some people in the Atlantic for years, and it wouldn’t take away one sin. Only the blood of Christ can wash away your sin. And anyway, you’re invited if you’ve not been water baptized, You don’t have a church home that would do that for you. You’re welcome to join us if you’re in driving distance. Of course, we’d love to have you come and be baptized. Well, in any case, we want you to also check out our resource center.

If you can come by during the week, we’re open every day till about 4.30. You can come knock on our door. We’ll get a chance to meet you. And you can look at the many, many things we have in our resource center. And that, I think you’ll find a real plus because the things we have are things that we recommend because not every book out there is a safe book to read. If you go to your Christian bookstore, you might feel like you’re going to be able to get a book out there.

in a safe zone, but a lot of the books that are sold at a Christian bookstore are not doctrinally sound and you don’t want to buy them. And I’ve bought thousands of books and I’ve wasted my money and I’m going to save you that trouble by letting you know what we have in ours. By the way, you can write and ask for a resource sheet to be sent to you. We’ll do that free of charge or you can call our 800 number and ask us to send you a resource or you can go directly online to our website, BibleLineMinistries.org, and you’ll find that you’ll be able to visit our resource center by clicking on the online bookstore.

That’s our resource center and you can order directly off of that. Again, we have a lot of not only Bibles and commentaries, and we recommend the old Schofield Reference Bible. That’s what we have here available to you. We have it in Spanish and English and also we have the book on evangelism we mentioned yesterday and that’s available in Spanish and in English it’s a powerful tool in leading souls to Christ but we also have a lot of my CDs my teachings you can subscribe to the worship services for $30 a month we’ll send you all of the sermons for the month on CD a lot of people do that and enjoy the Sunday sermons coming to their home, they can play them in their car and distribute them to their friends and it’s very powerful.

Also, we have the teachings I’ve done. 10 to 12 hours of teaching on different topics, different books of the Bible like Romans, Hebrews, Jude 1 and 2 Peter, the Gospel of John, and the book of Revelation of course is a very popular one. We also have many of them available on DVD, which means you can watch and listen to the teachings and I believe you’ll glean a great deal and benefit greatly by that. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom. We’re going to take our phone callers after we take a look at the Bible for a few minutes.

If you want that number, it’s 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800- hundred five seven six three seven seven one and please feel free to call in and I hope you will do that. We want to talk a little bit about the gifts for a few minutes and the gift of tongues in particular. You know there were nineteen gifts of the Spirit given to the early church and some of those gifts were temporary in nature and have ceased. In fact The Bible talks about tongues being one of those gifts that would cease.

So there were 19, many of them still are gifts that are available to believers. And every believer has at least one gift. You can’t choose your gift. And amazingly a lot of people are saying, I want to get tongues when the Holy Spirit is the one who decided what gift you got. and tongues was the least of the gifts, and not everybody got the gift of tongues. In fact, only a few got the gift of tongues. But there’s a lot of confusion today about this whole gift because that gift is ceased, and what is being done today is not that gift.

That’s right. What is being done today is not the gift of tongues. The gift of tongues was to be able to speak in a known language. Not only that, the Greek word in Acts 2 is dialectos, and it means a specific dialect of a specific language. So we’re talking about a very, very specific language and a specific dialect of it. And nobody’s doing that today. The people who claim they speak in tongues don’t understand what they’re saying, and the people who hear them don’t understand what they’re saying.

And obviously that is just purely a gibberish and is not the biblical gift. And most people don’t understand why the gift was given in the beginning. If you read 1 Corinthians 14, it tells us why tongues were given. It was given so that Jewish people would hear the gospel in a Gentile language. You see, God had turned away from the Jews. He’s not done with the Jews. Obviously, once the Rapture happens, He’ll go back and use the Jewish people as His main witnessing tool in the world.

That’s why there’s 144,000 Jewish men who witnessed during the tribulation period after the Rapture. But during this age… God would then evangelize the world through the Gentiles, and Jewish people would be evangelized in a Gentile tongue. Let me read it to you right out of the Bible, and this is 1 Corinthians chapter 14 that I’m looking at, and it says here in verse 21, in the law. That is the Old Testament scripture. It is written with men of other tongues and other lips will I speak to this people.

It’s talking about the Jewish people. So God would use men of other tongues or languages and other lips. That means he would use Gentiles to speak unto this people, the Jewish people, and it says here and for all that they will not hear me say of the Lord. Then it goes on to say very plainly, wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not. What is incredible is when I witness to a Jewish person, I love to tell them, you know, I’m telling you about your Messiah that you should be telling me about.

Here I am a Gentile and I have accepted a Jewish Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior. You should be telling me about that Messiah, but I’m a Gentile telling you that’s God’s plan. I’m fulfilling prophecy as a Gentile when I witness to a Jew in a Gentile language. The second point I like to make is I’m not telling you about your Messiah in Hebrew, your national language. I’m speaking to you in English, a Gentile language. And again, I’m fulfilling Bible prophecy because it says in Isaiah 28 that God would speak to the Jewish people in this age with men of other lips and other tongues.

And obviously, here I am telling you about your Messiah, but not in Hebrew. I’m telling you about Him in English. I’ve led a lot of Jewish people to Christ. I have Jewish members in my church that have come to know Jesus as their Savior, their Messiah. And we have Jewish people visiting our church all the time, they know that we love the Jew. And we should love the Jew. Unfortunately today, because of replacement theology, a lot of churches have ill feelings toward the Jew because they feel that God is all done with the Jew and that because they rejected Jesus as their Messiah, that God is through with the Jew and that is not true.

The Bible says in Romans chapter 11, half God cast away his people which he foreknew. The Bible says, God forbid, absolutely not. And we find that Paul the Apostle said, I’m also a Jew of the tribe of Benjamin, and obviously I’m a believer and God has not cast us away. So Jewish people continually are getting saved. Percentage wise, I believe there are more Jews today that no crisis or Savior percentage wise than there are Gentiles. There’s only about 30 million Jews in the world, and yet the world population today is six and a half billion.

So when you talk about I have quite a few Jewish people in my congregation that are saved that believe in Jesus as their Messiah, and if you were to extrapolate that, wow, that would mean a huge percentage of the Gentiles in this world would be saved if they were saved in the same numbers. But obviously there are more Jewish people per hundred or per thousand people that are saved, I believe, than there are Gentiles. Six and a half billion people on the planet and look at how many Gentiles know Christ.

Obviously I think more Jews out of the 30 million know Christ as Savior than Gentiles do percentage wise. So God has always had a remnant among the Jews and the way he reaches them in these days is through the Gentile and through Gentile languages. For that to happen on the day of Pentecost, God gave the miraculous gift of tongues. And on Pentecost, you had 16 countries represented mentioned there in Acts chapter 2, and those people who had been born as Jews in foreign countries had come to Jerusalem for the feast of Pentecost and guess what?

They heard the gospel presented to them in a Gentile language. In fact, the people were saying, how here we, every man in our own language where we were born and raised. The word language there is the Greek word dialectos. They were speaking the very dialect of the Gentile language in the city or cities where they had been born and raised in some Gentile country. And that was the miracle. And they said, how can this be? These aren’t these Galileans, which was really saying that they were simple farmers or fishermen not educated.

Modern lingual at best, not multilingual, they didn’t know where the language is and yet they could speak a foreign language, a specific dialect, and be precise with that. And these Jewish people said, wow, how can they do that? And obviously they listened and they got saved as a result. And obviously for Jewish people to get saved on day one, that’s how that had to happen. But you know as time went along, the gift was no longer necessary because the gospel went out to the Jews.

Gentile countries and Gentiles became saved. And today, God can use me to witness the Jewish people in English, and I’ve led Jewish people to Christ in many different countries. And in Israel, I’ve led a lot of Jewish people to Christ. I’ll never forget one time I was down by the Sea of Galilee, and there were a bunch of soldiers on break from the Golan Heights. One of them had a guitar, and he was kind of strumming away and struggling.

And I said, may I play your guitar? And he said, sure, and I started strumming. And he said, can you sing? And I said, yes. And I said, I only know Christian songs. You know, I had about 20 soldiers singing Do Lord and a lot of other wonderful Christian choruses. And then I stopped and I gave my testimony. And you know, I led a bunch of Jewish people to Christ there. A lot of them came to my hotel at night and stayed with me till about midnight asking Bible questions.

These were young soldiers in about 18, 19, 20 years of age, and we had a ball. The Lord used that guitar. Thank God I knew how to play it and I could sing. I led them in singing. They just had a great time and we enjoyed it. They were clapping their hands and singing Christian songs as Israeli soldiers. Anyway, I’ve led them to Christ in English. heard the gift in English. The modern day movement that is a counterfeit is gibberish.

There is no tongues being spoken today. And I know the one thing that they try to say, that this is a secret prayer language. My friend, that is obviously an invention to explain the way the gibberish. You don’t need a secret prayer language. God understands English very well and so you don’t need to pray in some unknown gibberish. But what it’s saying in Corinthians was because of the misuse of the real gift of tongues, they were using foreign languages in the church at Corinth, which was a city in Greece where nobody in the church understood that foreign language.

They should have been using it out with the lost. And so Paul is saying when you speak in a language unknown to the hearer in the church, nobody understands you. Only God. And what people are saying is it’s a mystery what the guy is saying because you’re not speaking plainly. Verse 9 is key. It says, except you speak by the tongue words easy to be understood. How shall it be known when it is spoken? You just speak into the air.

Paul says. Verse 9 says you need to speak words that are easily understood by the here. And that’s, of course, what the purpose of the real gift was to speak to a person from a foreign country in their dialect, in their particular language, and lead them to Christ. And then verse 22 tells us, tongues are for a sign, not to believers. It shouldn’t be used in the church. Shouldn’t be used in a prayer closet. It’s to be used with the unbelievers.

It’s a sign to them and the result will be people getting saved. We don’t have any more time to talk about that today, but I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom and this is Bibleline and we’re going to go to the phone lines in just a minute. That number is 1-800-576-3771 and we’re going to look now at our go-to-dug and Lansing michigan and that welcome to bible and you are on the air hi doctor lintstrom how are you doing good good uh…

i was looking for this uh… scriptural reference and i can’t seem to find it so i’m starting to question if it really exists but i have heard it and it’s about after jesus died and uh… he’s taken down the cross and somewhere i thought i read this somewhere it said that he uh… descended into the heart of the earth that is correct and i was just wondering uh… if you actually knew what yeah i was a couple references matthew twelve forty jesus said he’d be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth matthew twelve forty in a few years four fesions for eight through ten it talks about christ when he descended into the lower parts of the earth he also ascended and when he ascended he led a group captive that was all the people that were saved of the Old

Testament that were waiting in paradise in the heart of the earth. And he took them up far above all the visible heavens to heaven itself. So now paradise is in heaven itself. And that’s why this side of the cross, when we die, we’re absent from the body, we’re present with the Lord. But if you died in the Old Testament as a believer, you would have gone to paradise just like the dying thief. Christ said today. Now shall be with me in paradise.

At the same time Christ said in Matthew 1240 he’d be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. I see. So are we in the heart of the earth? Is he talking about hell? Referencing to people? He’s talking about Hades now. Hades used to have two compartments. And Luke 16 pulls back the curtain on that unseen world. And you’ll see beginning in verse 19, two men who die. One is a lost man, a rich man. and a rich man, he’s in Flaming Tormund.

And then a beggar named Lazarus also dies, and he goes where Abraham is, and all the Old Testament saints, they can see each other, they can have a conversation, they have conscious memory. And he wants for Lazarus, who he recognized, who lived outside his mansion, and ate the crumbs from his table, to come over to him and bring some water to Kool his tongue. and Abraham points out there’s an impassable gulf between the two. Now the Old Testament saints had what I call a layaway salvation.

They were waiting for sin to be paid for until it was they had the promise of salvation and they were placed in paradise waiting for that to be fulfilled. When Christ died, Isaiah 61 says he proclaimed liberty and victory to those that were Old Testament saints that had believed on Christ and on the third day he emptied the place out and took it up to heaven. wow yeah i just thought about that because i was like you know here we live on earth and uh…

you know it’s like really don’t know what’s inside the earth it could be anything and that’s made and i i remembered that first i thought to myself you know i really uh… as a believer in christ you have to wonder where these um… eternal destinations are whether it’s that i don’t know what you know jana went there yet jona died in the fishes belly and the bible says that he went down to the bottoms of the mountains uh… and and and he apparently was in the very heart of the earth and he said the earth with her bars was about me forever he was he was trapped in the heart of the earth in in paradise but then on the third day is a perfect type of christ uh…

jona was raised up from the dead he went back into the body that was in the fish’s belly and the fish drove him to shore and spit him up and he went on the nannabata care at the mission it got informed but jona actually died it was uh… in a sense His body was entombed in the fish’s belly. His soul went down to the heart of the earth, beneath the mountains in the heart of the earth. And then on the third day he was raised up from the dead and went back into the same body.

Just like Christ’s body was in the tomb, Christ went into the heart of the earth. He came back out of the heart of the earth and went into that body in the tomb and raised it up and showed himself alive for 40 days. Praise God. Amen. Praise God, that’s amazing. Thank you very much. Thanks for listening up there in Lansing, Michigan, the capital of Michigan, and we’re glad to have you listening up there. Thank you. All right, bye. That was Doug in Lansing, Michigan, the capital of Michigan.

We’re also in every day in the capital of New York, Albany, New York. We’re on every day there as well. We’re now going to go to Phil in Miami and Phil. Welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Air. How are you? I have a question in, in relation to your teaching. I know that we have to be careful when we speak with people who practice or believe in speaking of terms, you know, and the Bible says according to knowledge which is information.

So I think that’s good with your teaching. I personally want to say that, you know, people that the battling, you know, is up the devil and I don’t know if sometimes you want to open up with that which may cause a sense, may go on opportunity to be a witness or web kitchen bee. In reference to salvation, for those who may practice it or web kitchen bee, you can also sometimes be made misused the statement, I have an a hail issue.

What would you or in the middle of it? The real issue here is not tongues. The real issue is salvation. Almost everybody without exception does the tons believes you can lose your salvation. Now that is major. If you believe you can lose it, that means you believe you have to work to get it or keep it. And that salvation by works and obviously you’ll not be saved at all. If you say you can lose it, you’re saying between right now and whenever you die that what you do will determine whether you make heaven or not.

That makes you the Savior, not Christ. And it’s a salvation by works which The Bible says we’re saved not by works. We’re saved by Christ and His death and His barrel and His resurrection. So I believe that it’s a symptom of bad doctrine. All across the board so it’s not the tongue-speaking. I don’t usually like to spend much time on that because That’s a symptom, but if somebody believes in tongues. I usually ask him can you lose your salvation?

They don’t even blink They say of course. Yes, of course and obviously then I have a salvation issue and try to get them safe most of them I found some who’ve gone into that bad teaching after they’ve become saved are still safe, but the majority, 99% of those who speak in the gibberish, are not even safe. Well, you know, it’s funny and even mentioned what you said about losing salvation. You know, what I usually do with people in the description says, you know, if we believe, or since we believe that Christ died 2,000 years ago, which before we were born, if he covered my sin has passed present and future, then how could you lose it?

And of course, like you said, it has nothing to do with what I do. My work’s in good. It’s all a, it’s a done deal. I’m at the break time here. Again, thank you for tuning in today. I hope everybody here has trusted Christ and that’s the major issue And if you haven’t settled that trust him as your only hope of heaven also Bible and is listeners supported We’re at the end of the month of July if you could help us that would be wonderful You could call today and give a gift by credit card or call an astronomical to be mailed with our dress and mail a gift in We’re gonna take a short break.

We’ll come right back into a second half hour of Bible and I’m dr Where England’s from, keep your radio tuned right where it is and we’ll be right back for part two of Bible. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr. England. It’s great to be with you. Thanks again for tuning in to the broadcast and being a part of us and we’re here every day, Monday through Friday.

We hope that you’re telling your friends about the program and helping us build our audience. We’d love to have your friends and family listening and we have many people tell me that they have relatives across the country that are listening either on the internet or on a live broadcast wherever we might be. And I hope that you’ll take advantage. We’re on in Evansville, Indiana and we had a lady there listening and she calls her brother here in Tampa and says you got to go out to that church said I’m listening to this guy up in Evansville and he’s right there in Tampa and the brother comes out and he gets saved in that wonderful.

What a wonderful thing it is to see how God works and we constantly are seeing people getting saved, growing in the Lord, going into ministry, getting the Bible straight in their head. You know, a lot of Christians are ineffective because they’ve been given wrong answers and confusing answers and they never really have understood not only the gospel, but they have understood the other major issues of the Bible and they’re left confused today. This is an age of confusion and guess who the author of confusion is?

It’s Satan. 1 Corinthians 14, the very chapter that where people get confused on the issue of tongues, It says Satan is the one who takes advantage of this and causes the confusion. Confusion is not of the Lord. A sound mind and sound doctrine are of the Lord, but confusion is not from him. In any case, we are less supported. We hate to talk about money, but we want to let you know that we do need your help. We don’t pay any salaries, so our budget is really trimmed just to pay the bills, just to get these programs out to the stations and to pay the bill to be on the air.

And it’s expensive. It really is. You’d be probably surprised how much it costs for us to be on the air. I don’t get paid to be on the radio. It’s not as our staff. We volunteer ourselves. But we need your help. And if you’d like to partner with us, God is raising up people just like you who enable us to be up on the air. And this is a lean time with the economy in our country going down. and the fact that it’s summertime and normally lean time anyway, we experience that also.

So we really need for some of you to give, if you could, a little extra or to make sure you give faithfully and that will assure that we stay on the air in your area and stay on the air period. And God bless you and thank you in advance. I want to thank you. We’re going to be joining the stations that have been on break now and we’re going to come back into a second half hour. So keep your radio tuned right where it is.

Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright we’re back from that break and this is Bibleline. I’m Dr. Lindstrom. It’s great to be with you. We’re coming to you live from our studios here in Tampa, the Calvary Community Church. We’re on the pastor. You’re always welcome to come by and visit us during the week. Our resource center is open to 4.30 in the afternoon, eastern time and also you can come by on a worship day. You can come by on a Wednesday.

You can come by on a Sunday. We’d love to have you. All the information you need is either on our website, BibleLineMinistries.org, or you can call or 800 number and ask for directions or ask for times of services and all those kinds of things. And we’d love to meet you. We have people coming all the time. We had a visitor this past Sunday all the way from Israel. A young lady who is going to go back to Israel in a couple of weeks and she wants to come back.

She said, I felt loved in this church. And usually she says, I don’t feel loved in churches. They don’t take kindly to Jewish people. Isn’t that wonderful? And we pray that she’ll trust Jesus as her Savior. And we hope that you will pray for this young lady, that she will trust the Lord before she goes back to her home country, born in Israel, raised in Israel, and here in America for the summer. Well, pray for us as we try to reach people and God sends them our way, because I believe he knows we’re going to give them the plan of salvation.

They’re going to hear the gospel. And so we have people that cross our paths really from all over the world. It’s amazing to me. And it’s almost like God is saying, okay, I’m going to send them to you because I know that you’re going to tell them. And that’s what we do here on Bible and as well. We try to make sure that our listening audience hears how to be saved and is given an opportunity to trust Jesus as their Savior, as their only means of salvation, that Christ by His death and shed blood, purchased our salvation.

He makes it available to everyone, no matter who you are, where you live, what your background is. God so loved the world, everybody in the human race. He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever, believeth in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. We’re at the end of the month of July. We’re short. If you could help us, it would be appreciated. We hate to talk about money. We don’t pay any salaries. I don’t get a salary. But if you could help us, that would keep us rolling during the summer.

Our economy is bad and it’s summer and that’s a lean time anyway. And we thank God that He is kept us on the air and continues to do so because of people just like you who love the ministry and say that I want to keep Bible and going in my area and I want to keep Bible and going period. Well you could call and give a gift byReward over the pci you could also call to ask for an envelope to be sent with our address on it and you could mail that gift in and I want to thank you in advance.

God bless every one of you who pray for and give the Bible and you truly are special and no doubt God is going to reward you richly because I believe Bibleline is a tool to reach a lot of people for Christ and we hear it all the time if you listen to the show you hear people telling how they get saved on this program all of our phone lines are lighted up but take the number down and when it keep trying and maybe you’ll get in 1-800-576-3771 Brachia and Lena welcome to Bibleline you are on the air Hi, Dr.

Linson. This is Lina that listens to you in her car. I wrote you two letters regarding the question of scripture. I don’t know where it’s at, but I’ve read it more than once, where it says, God will not use unclean spirit. Well, let me just talk about it. God wants us to be effective and He wants us to be a clean vessel and the reference that you are talking about is in Timothy Let me go over and read that passage.

We’ll talk about it and hopefully this will help you This is second Timothy chapter two and it says here in a great house There are not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and of earth and 1. And some to honor and some to dishonor. Verse 21, If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified and meet, or prepared for the master’s use, prepared for every good work. Now it doesn’t say that God will not use an unclean vessel because he’ll use us whenever we become available to be used.

To be more effective to be a vessel of honor God wants you to clean up your life And to live a life that is in accordance with God’s Word and God will use you even more. You know, when you have a special party at your house or a special guest at your house, don’t you bring out the best dishes you have that may be reserved for such an occasion, the best silverware that you have, the nicest glasses, the best tablecloth you have, everything is prepared because you want to honor your guest.

And so this is what it’s talking about. If you want to really live for Christ and be effective, you want to honor Him by cleaning up your life and being the best representative for Him as you possibly can. But God will still use you. Don’t ever think that you can’t be used of the Lord. Don’t think that God won’t use you when you speak His Word. Because His Word is powerful and sharper than an intuitive sword. And even if you’ve been away from the Lord, I would just start witnessing again and then clean up your life as you go.

And God will use you in a mighty way. But you find that God will use you. And this passage is just saying that you’re going to be a special vessel of honor if you live a pure life as you give out the Gospel of Christ. Okay, now when you say, appear life and clean up your life, don’t that go with work? Yeah, but that’s not to be saved. This is talking about now being a servant. If you read 2 Timothy 2, the whole chapter is addressed to those that are saved and how that we’re not committed to give out the gospel.

It says in verse 2, as it talks to us, the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit that of faithful men who should be able to teach others also. And then it says endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. So as a believer we become soldiers in his army, as the picture gives it here. And we are to endure the difficulties of being a soldier, in other words the battle that goes on as Satan will try to stop us from witnessing.

But we’re to take the things that we’ve heard from God’s Word and then pass them along to other people. And it’s talking about the Christian life here. So works is fine. you’re saved. We do that as a way of showing the Lord we love Him and we want to see other people get saved, but not we don’t do them to become saved. Okay, I know that because I listened to you a while now and I’ve heard you say to people you can’t clean up your life and…

Well, the Lord can help you clean it up. After you become saved, then you have the power to be able to clean up your life and become a vessel that is under honor. So as you read your Bible and as the Lord shows you, as you read the Bible, as you look into the mirror of Scripture, it will show you your flaws. It will show you your faults. And you can say, Lord, I want to have victory over this habit and I want to have victory over that habit.

And a lot of times we’re consumed by different things that are a distraction. Even the Bible talks about gluttony, for example. Some people just eat themselves to death and in order to be healthy and to be effective. You need to be careful with how you treat the temple that God lives in your body. So you don’t want to abuse it by overeating or by not even eating like you ought to. You ought to eat healthy foods and not just junk foods.

And all of that’s a part of what we’re talking here about it being a vessel under honor that you would honor the Lord by taking care of the body He’s given to you and keeping yourself in good shape and in a healthy condition. That affects your spiritual life too. If you feel sick, you don’t have the desire to read your Bible and to do other spiritual things that you normally would. In fact, you don’t feel like doing anything. But as a person who is in good health, you have much more clarity of mind and more strength to carry on whatever God would have you to do.

So it’s not wrong to serve Lord and obviously we need God’s help to clean up our lives and He’ll help us. That’s what we say. So even if you’re still struggling with things in your life, whether it be food or whether it be other things, can you still be actively you? absolutely go for it yes the uh… other thing is and before i get off the phone i want that about you with book sent to me the other thing you hear this term a lot and i’ve read it verses and i don’t know exactly where they are right now but i’ve made notes from listening to you and uh…

i’ve just even stumbled upon them from listening i mean from read my bible when people use this term. Oh, this person is really anointed and they have a lot of anointing on that. Can you collaborate on that a little bit? Yes, absolutely. You know, this is a bad teaching as well. The Bible says every believer is anointed. The anointing is the Holy Spirit who comes in and indwells our bodies. And so if you’re a believer, you have God’s anointing in that the Holy Spirit indwells you.

Let me give you a great verse. in 1 John 2 20 where it says you have an anointing from the Holy One, the Holy One is Jesus and you know all things. That is the Holy Spirit. And it says in verse 27, the anointing which you have of him abideth in you. So that has got the Holy Spirit that dwells in you and he is the anointing. So it’s unfortunate in some circles they use condescending terms and they say have you received the anointing of the Holy Spirit?

Everybody brought to be able to say absolutely sure at the moment I got saved the Holy Spirit came into me and he is the anointing and so every believer has that and as a result the Bible says here that you can and have God illuminate your understanding of the Scriptures, and you will have the power, the Holy Spirit, working in your life. It goes on in chapter four, first John and verse four, greater is he that is in you.

That’s the Holy Spirit who is the anointing. That’s one of my favorite Scriptures. Isn’t that great? So you have the anointing. Yeah. And greater is he, though, the anointing, greater is he that is in the, in you, than he that is in the world which is Satan. So you’ve got it, Lena. did you get my letter on it and i’ve been so busy and i know the past couple weeks i had a flu and i was able to barely able to to function i did radio every day and people can tell i was sick but yeah i uh…

the lord on a couple of those days gave me a clean hour where i didn’t have to uh… uh… lose my lunch you might say it’s jesus but but the lord took care of me and i’m i’m i got my strength back down so yeah what i want to give a shout out for your you’re doing an awesome job and i just want to bless this ministry it is helping and teach it so many people i listen to all i really like listening to the callers because i can see the third the hunger the confusion and um i don’t claim confusion but i am one of those people why i do watch every day because i like that the learning that i’m getting and it’s now part of my devotion uh…

unfortunately it’s it But I have no desire for computers or too many of the world immaterial things, but it just works out fine because it’s… if they by the line now part of my devotion the other a quick question i would like to act you you you use it is a merchant uh… i use the immersion that means you use the merchant i’m sorry we put you under the water so that that’s what it means yes some people sprinkle but we immerse which means we put you fully under the water and that’s uh…

obviously you read the new test with that is exactly what uh… they did in in the days of jesus i thought it was a uh… a special person but i just heard yesterday or the day before that you’re the one that actually do it uh… if it’s a guard will then he provide i’m hoping i make that one is going to do i think it’s all the seventy yet i heard that and of course i ain’t gave up on getting down there but i would be great i would like to meet you and i’d be honored to baptize you i’m a good somebody else sometime because i’d like your end date questions and you keep up the good work and uh…

thank you so much for your answer but i’ve got this ministry thank you know lina elina in palm cove florida and uh… we’re not going to go to math you in spring hill mathew welcome to buy one year on the air and get a quick question uh… like you believe and have to say about jesus sweating blood after his prayer in the garden well obviously he was under a great deal of stress in the garden gazimity that was the night of the uh…

betrayal and uh… medical doctors tell us that but under conditions of extreme stress that the capillaries in your sweat glands Birst and blood is mingled with your sweat. Now I’ve never had that happen to me. I’ve been under some stress from different times but never to the degree Christ was. So Jesus obviously was under tremendous stress and he prayed, father, if there’s another way, let this cup pass from before me, but nevertheless, lie will be done. He prayed three times and his disciples remember kept falling asleep and they didn’t stay awake and pray with him.

But he agonized, but he obviously submitted himself to go to the cross and die, even though he knew what a horrific and awful thing that would be. I don’t think we will ever fully comprehend in this life what Jesus experienced before and on the cross as he died for you and for me. And thank you for that call. We now have Mary in Huntington, West Virginia. Mary, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Okay. I have a question. In the Southern Badges Sunday school that we’ve been studying regulations from last month, I’m kind of tuned into that and I heard a pastor the other day make a statement that He thought perhaps and he based that on the fact that I believe was John referred to him as the son of predation And that he had gone into his place That is in revelation it talked about the beast how he had gone into predation

I was just wondering had you ever had any thoughts on that? I have heard that position. I personally don’t accept that I It’s just like Elijah is going to come back before the Lord comes back and some thought John the Baptist was Elijah and they asked Elijah, are you rather John the Baptist? Are you Elijah? He said no. And then of course Jesus explained, had they accepted Jesus as their Savior, that he would have been the fulfillment of the prophecy about Elijah coming back.

But he was not the same one. So John the Baptist was not Elijah, and John the Baptist obviously preceded Christ in his first coming. Elijah will come back and preach and precede Christ before his second coming. In the same way, Judas was a forerunner of the Antichrist who will be Antichrist, but I don’t believe he’s going to come back and be the Antichrist. Now, I could be wrong on that. There’s not enough evidence, I think, to prove it either way, but I just don’t believe that.

I believe that there will be a man totally separate from being Judas who will be the Antichrist. That’s just my view. And I wouldn’t, you know, it’s not worth my debating somebody on that if they want to believe that. I would just say, okay, well, that you might be right, but I don’t believe that myself. Well, I know there are a number of things that are not that the scriptures are not that plain old, but I just respect you and I just was wondering if you that’s the first time I had heard that review over the years many times and I just don’t buy it.

I don’t believe that. And so I don’t expect that to happen. I believe that the Antichrist will be a fresh guy all on his own just like John the Baptist was like a precursor of Elijah, but he was not Elijah. was not a logic right okay well appreciate that very much good to have you listening up there in Huntington v. Virginia that’s right that’s wonderful and we’re glad to be on the air up there thank you for tuning in all right that station up there we get a lot of good reports out of that station in fact when you go to the website for WEMM in Huntington West Virginia they have a picture of me and give me a lot of press on the home page of their website I’m very flattered that they do that and probably maybe some of the station people are listening

right now and thank you for giving me that spot on your home page. I’m very flattered. We’re now going to go to Reggie and he is in Tampa, Florida and Reggie, welcome to Bible You’re on the air. Yes, how are you doing today, sir? Good. I have a question for him. He’s in here this morning just pondering through one of the Jehovah Witness pamphlets and I’ve been curious for a lot of understand that throughout history anybody who’s taking God’s name in vain or use his name as a surname for their own has always come with come with you know bad tidings someone is just true and if there are any verses in the Bible that best set up.

Well obviously. Well, obviously it tells us in the Ten Commandments I shall not take theAside of the Lord I got in vain and it obviously gives a warning connected with that. I would think that You need to be careful when you violate God’s name. He’s not going to be real happy. But again, anybody that would turn to the Lord and trust Him as Savior would be saved. And so He loved the world and He loves everybody. But there are things that you can do that would be offensive.

And obviously, I believe it’s veiled in the Ten Commandments, but I believe the name is the name of Yahweh who would be our Savior, which is Yahweh Yasha, and the contraction is Yeshua, and in English it’s Jesus. So when you take the name of Jesus and defile it, you’re also obviously going to be in trouble. Ultimately, if you reject him, if you don’t trust Jesus, you’ll not be saved. So I think that’s where it really winds up as a negative.

If you curse God and curse Jesus all your life and you die without Him, you’re going to really obviously pay a price in hell forever. Okay. one of the quick question on hang up and they got this list of all what they believe in and one of their book here and what they’re saying is that they’re going back to the hundred forty four thousand and they’re saying that it’s only going to be a little flocked that that’s going to heaven and they’re basing this on luke uh…

twelve revelations fourteen kirithians fifteen and revelations five and i’ll hang up Okay. That’s absolutely just bad teaching. They’re making a big stretch to say that a little flock is the hundred forty-four thousand. The hundred forty-four thousand are, if you read Revelation 7, are Jewish people. They’re from the twelve tribes of Israel. It names twelve tribes, twelve thousands of them reach the twelve tribes, and they make up a hundred forty-four thousand. Twelve times twelve thousand is a hundred forty-four thousand.

Also in Revelation 14 you read that they’re all men and they’re all virgins. So that leaves the Jehovah’s Witnesses out. You have to be Jewish. When they come to my door and want to claim the hundred forty thousand, I say, well, you must be Jewish. They say, no. And I say, well, obviously you haven’t read your Bible because you can’t be one of the hundred forty four thousand. Revelation seven four says, I heard the number of them that were sealed and it was sealed a hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

So it’s Jewish and the witnesses are not Jewish. And then if it’s a woman, I’m sorry you’re eliminated because even if you were Jewish you can’t be one of the hundred forty thousand, it’s all men. And then also if it’s a married man, he’s eliminated because you have to be Jewish and a virgin man to be one of the hundred forty thousand. They just don’t know what they’re talking about. These people are the ones that will be witnesses during the tribulation after the rapture and they don’t, they’re not even saved yet.

They’ll get saved after the rapture and be God’s fearless witnesses during the tribulation period. Thank you for that call. We’re now going to Nathaniel in Bill Glades, Florida. On the thing you’ll welcome to Bibleline. Yes sir I’m a I’m I’m I’m asking the question I’m gonna hang up and listen to it. Go ahead. Yes sir. Bob, Hank. Yes sir. I know I know that I’ll be in a creepy eco in there. in the body state. Well that’s because of the curse back when Adam sinned he brought sin upon the human race and and man has a wicked nature now that obviously we reject I’m not talking about myself here because I believe we are created equal but obviously many people do not believe that and it’s a lie of Satan obviously the nature of the man is wicked it says in Jeremiah 17 9 the heart

is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. So that’s the result of sin. And one day we’ll be delivered from this sinful world and live in heaven with the Lord. And we have to look forward to that future day. This is a world that has been contaminated by sin and is run by Satan. So hopefully that helps, Nathaniel. Thank you for that call we have now Darrell in St. Petersburg. Darrell, welcome to Bibleage. Hey, Dr. Hank, how you doing?

Good. uh… i would just go in the time here alright it’s true that you could think of all police and i was thinking that maybe he might be prepared for something for the better time i don’t think that the end of craft but what about all a possibility to be in the fall of profit in part of that fall straight at the because i’m just assuming that the julis was will not accept anybody else came to be a profit or anything like that and i just want to know what you think about that i i i reject that too i think julis is done for He’s going to be in hell forever and he’s not coming back.

We’re at the end of the program here. Time has run out, but again I hope everybody has trusted the Lord. Just whisper that prayer. Lord, I am a sinner. But I trust Jesus Christ right now as the only means of my salvation. Believing His death and shed blood. Purchase my salvation that He was buried, that He rose again from the dead. He’s alive forevermore. And I trust Him. to save me. Bible and again is short as we end up July we could use your help.
