Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast. And we appreciate you and all of our listeners and we welcome you to the Bibleline program. And thanks for tuning in today. We want you to know that we’re coming to you from our studios at Calvary Community Church in Tampa. We’re located at 4811 George Road in Tampa, just the block west of the Tampa International Airport, just four tenths of a mile south of Hillsborough Avenue in Tampa. And we would love to have you drop by.
And we would love to have you check out our website, BibleLineMinistries.org or BibleLineMinistries.com. We made it easy so you can go either way and get us. Also, we have those Moody Bible Institute classes. We’d love to have you drop by for those. We’ve got all those classes available in a series on CD. People are really enjoying these CDs and I’m hearing great reports about how they feel like they’re right there in the classroom because we’re digitally recording them into the computer and putting them on CD.
They’re turning out real, real nice. Also our resource center, we have lots of wonderful books. We have something by Lewis Barry Shafer. He founded Dallas Theological Seminary. These books were written over a hundred years ago. They’re marvelous. Satan his motives and methods the incredible book his book on salvation Incredible book. We have some by Charles wiry we have his balancing the Christian life and it has a study guide in the back But this is great for new Christians. It tells you basically some of the basic things you need to know as a new believer Issues about giving about the gifts about a lot of things that just face the new Christian how you get going going.
We also have two great books on one understanding Roman Catholicism, which takes you through the Catechism and shows you the Scriptures versus the Catechism. You’ll love that. We also have the book Two Babylons. It is a book that’s been around for a long time. It’s well documented and it is really the true origin it gives in here of the mass purgatory, prayers for the dead, the rosary, the sign of the cross, the confessional, relic worship, extreme function, all kinds of things which are really not biblical but are included in what is called Christianity underneath the Roman Catholic Church.
But this paganism that has come in really needs to, you need to take this book and see how it can be traced all the way back to Genesis chapter 10 and the time of the tower of Babel. We’re going to talk about the Bible and we’re going to try to answer your questions today and we’re going to talk about Jonah for a moment. Did you know that Jonah died in the fishes belly? That’s right. I said that on the air last week I got a fellow that contacted me and said he told it to his Bible, said he said they laughed at him.
They ridiculed him and said he was crazy. Well, guess what? The Bible is the authority, and if you believe the Bible, you have to believe that Jonah died. I had that Pinocchio type of mentality prior to my getting saved and reading the Bible more carefully. But a lot of us have been given this kind of a picture that Jonah was in the fishes’ belly sitting at a table with a candle on it. There were pictures hung on the stomach wall of the fish and there he kind of twiddled his thumbs and bided out the three days and three nights and then he was tossed out onto the shore.
But Jonah died. Actually, it’s interesting here when you look at the passage as the perfect type of Christ and Jesus identifies his own death barrel resurrection with the death barrel and resurrection of Jonah. That’s right. If you look at Jonah chapter 2 and verse 1. It talks here about Jonah’s first prayer right after he’s swallowed by the fish. He prayed unto the Lord his God out of the fish’s belly. The word belly there, if you look it up in the Hebrew, is the Hebrew word mea and it means abdomen.
This is when he first was in the fish’s belly, the abdomen of the fish. Then he dies. Then he says in verse 2, I cried by reason of my nofliction unto the Lord and he heard me out of the belly of, it should Sheal, S-H-E-O-L, it should not have been translated hell here, but he went to the place in the heart of the earth where the departed dead went. And the word belly in verse two is not the same word belly as in verse one, but if you look up the Hebrew word it is B-tan, B-E-T-A-N, and that Hebrew word in verse two means hollow place.
And did you know in the heart of the earth there is a hollow place. In Luke 16, Jesus pulls back the curtain on that hollow place and shows that there were two compartments in that hollow place. One for the save, one for the lost, one a place of torment, one a place of comfort, one a place called paradise, the other called a place of torment. The lost are still there. The save were there until All Christ came back from the dead, he emptied it out.
He took all the saved up to heaven, now paradise is no longer in the heart of the earth. But Christ went into the heart of the earth. Jonah went into the heart of the earth. And Jesus says in Matthew 1240, as Jonah was three days and three nights in the Fish’s Valley, social and son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Christ said that he was going to go to the same place that Jonah went to in the heart of the earth.
That’s the way you cannot get into the heart of the earth, into shield, unless you die. It’s in the heart of the earth. Our earth has a crust around it. It varies in depth from 8 to 12 miles. The crust of the earth is floating on a liquid magma, molten rock, that the crust of the earth is floating upon. The interior of earth, they say the core of the earth is a thousand miles in diameter and is solid nickel steel.
And that is also rotating within our earth and that is what has the impact of creating the magnetic fields around our earth is that solid nickel steel interior, a thousand mile diameter that rotates within the heart of the earth. According to the Bible, inside of that steel ball is a hollow place. And if you’re in there, you had to die to get there. And I want you to see a little bit further down where Jonah says in verse 6 of chapter 2, are you writing this down?
Do you have pencil and paper? Can you mark it somewhere, write it on your hand or something? Jonah 2 verse 6, I went down to the bottoms of the mountains. Now the mountains obviously have their roots, their bottoms in the crust which is 8 to 12 miles thick around the earth. He went down below that, so he’s down below 12 miles. But he went down into the very heart because he says in the next phrase in Jonah 2, 6, the earth with her bars was about me forever.
In other words, there was no possible way. Jonah could get out of that place except God would let him get out. So here he was in the interior of the earth. The earth with her bars was about me forever. Jonah said he was dead. He was in the heart of the earth. Yes, his soul was conscious. Yes, he was alert as to where he was, but he was stuck in the heart of the earth. I went down to the bottoms of the mountains.
Jonah 2 6. The earth with her bars was about me forever. And then we find after three days and three nights, Jonah was resurrected. Look at verse 6, the second half. It says yet, has thou brought up my life, brought up my life from corruption. Those are terms used in the New Testament, but a body dies. The body begins to corrupt begin to return back to the elements from which it came.
God brought Jonah’s soulctr the heart of the earth back into the body that was entombed in the fishes belly. Resurrected Jonah, spitting metal in the shore and he went about his business. Jesus Christ body also was in the tomb of a rich man that was borrowed. Christ’s soul went into the heart of the earth. There he pronounced liberty to the Old Testament saints who are there waiting for their salvation to be paid for. After the three days of three nights, Christ went back into the body, back into the tomb, on the surface of the earth, and brought that body back to life.
Jonah experienced the death, the burial, the resurrection. Christ said, as Jonah was, so shall I be. If you don’t believe the story of Jonah, then you might as well toss out the story of Jesus. In fact, if a preacher tells me that the story of Jonah is a myth, then that’s just a pretty good commentary on what he believes about the rest of the Bible. You want to find out what your preacher believes? Ask him about the story of Jonah.
It’s a great indicator because Jesus says as Jonah was, social son of man be. If the story of Jonah is not true, then the story of Christ is not true. If the story of Jonah is a myth, then the story of Christ is a myth. You want to quicky to put a preacher to the test to see whether he is a liberal theologian who does not accept the inspired Word of God or a true genuine believer in the scriptures and in God’s Word?
Ask the question, what do you believe about the story of Jonah? Well, guess what? That is a powerful, powerful question to ask. And Jesus came back from the dead. And you must believe that Jesus died for you to be saved. You must believe that he was buried, that he rose again from the dead. That’s the gospel message. When you believe that message, God promises to save you. Vidly important. I hope you’ve done that. We’re going to turn over to the New Testament for just a moment now to John chapter 3.
In John 3, 18, Jesus said, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. He that believeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten son of God. In other words, our believers and unbelievers, those that are believers are going to heaven, unbelievers go to hell. Now what is interesting is that belief or unbelief determines a person’s eternal destiny. What happens at destiny for the believer is based upon his works, and that is the degree of reward the believer will receive in heaven or the loss of reward the believer will receive in heaven will be based upon his works.
The unbeliever likewise will find that his works will determine the degree of punishment and hell. But our works have nothing to do with our destination. Believer, unbelief alone determines whether you make heaven or make hell. It’s our works that determine what happens at destination. That’s why it’s important for a believer to work for Christ after they’re saved because rewards can be earned. And for unbelievers, their works will determine the degree of punishment that they’ll receive in hell. We have Armando in St.
Petersburg and we’re going to go to those lines. Armando, welcome to Bible Inn. Hello. Yeah, I wanted to hear it. Are you there? Hello? Yeah. Armando. Armando hello, can you hear me? I hear you well. I’m not actually Armando from same Pete I’m Mike from Tampa. You’re Mike from Tampa. Okay. Well, that’s fine Mike. Go ahead Okay, I could barely hear you. I’m just gonna ask you this and then just hang up all right in the In the book of Ezra that second temple that’s being built There’s another temple spoken of in the beginning of the gospel of John and he says you know, you can claim and be Jesus claim that it took them 46 years to build.
It doesn’t seem like the one in Ezra took 46 years to build. And I was just wondering how long the second one lasted, and if by transfected possibly the same one spoken of in John, and I’ll just listen to your brother. Alrighty, we’re talking about here about what we call Herod’s template. It was the template was built by that group that came back out of the captivity. captivity, but Herod took 46 years to really refurbish it and make it beautiful.
And of course they had misunderstood what in the world he was talking about, but he says in verse 21 of John 2, he spoke of the temple of his body. So Christ was talking about how that they would kill his body and that he would raise that body back from the dead after three days and three nights. And of course that’s exactly what happened, but they misunderstood and thought he was talking about the temple temple, which really had been around since about 534 BC.
but had been refurbished by Herod and it took 46 years to do that. I hope that helps with your question there and thank you Mike from Tampa for calling in and I believe we have Armando ready to go here Armando welcome to Bibleline. Good morning Dr. Lindstrom. Good morning. The first prayer in verse 1 he’s alive and Then he drowns and his second prayer is while he’s alive, but it’s from his soul or from his person in Shield in the heart of the earth.
So there are two prayers one while he’s still drowning The other one after he drowns and is in the heart of the earth Right he dies and then the process he can then you know We’re conscious after death and and if you die or I die Armando is a believer will be absent of body present with the Lord and and and and maybe It’s possible that you might be praying as you take your last breath and finish your prayer in heaven That’s right, okay, thank you you’re very welcome that was Armando and you’re welcome to call us the numbers 1 800 576 3 7 7 1 can I talk with you for a moment?
We’re expanding this ministry and we need help at the beginning until people hopefully will like our program and partner with us and become partners as you are to support the Bible on program in that area. And so we could really use extra help at this time if you’ve never given and you’d like to see this ministry expand this would be a good time to help us and invest in this program’s expansion to other parts of the nation with this message from Bible on We could use your help.
So consider that and pray about it. We need it right away as we make plans to go ahead. And we’re stepping out where there is no ground to step on. We’re trusting that God will put the earth under our feet. As we walk in faith, trusting that God will supply. Would you pray with us? Would you help us by your prayers and by your contribution to Bible on to get us out to another part of the world? and hopefully out to the entire nation.
Wouldn’t it be great? I believe people need to hear a clear message on the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was confused as a child raised in church, wanting to know, I believe I would have trusted Christ as a young boy if I’d only heard a clear presentation, but I never did. You can send a gift to Bibleline at 4811 George Road, Tampa, Florida, 33634.
That’s Tampa, Florida, 33634. That’s 4811 George Road. You can also give a gift by calling the 800 number after the program and giving it directly by credit card over the phone. Also our resources, we have some wonderful resources, we have some brand new things, we can send you a resource list, but we have tracks, we have Bibles, we have Spanish Bibles, Spanish Go fields, we have a little bit of everything. And all the things that we offer are things that I personally recommend.
It’ll help Bibleline if you get any of those things, including we have T-shirts and ball caps now that say Bibleline ministries with the website address on it. And they’re beautiful. And the shirts are 12 and the ball caps are 10. For a gift in that amount, we’ll be glad to send one out to you. And that’ll help us also. Keep that in mind and pray for us as we try to expand the Bibleline ministries beyond this area here to other parts of the world.
And I hope that you will. By the way, thank you all for caring. You all are a wonderful group. Yesterday I took the day off to care for some appointments my daughter had. And I had lots of calls saying, are you OK? Is everything OK? Are you sick? Are you dead? Are you alive? Or whatever? And I certainly appreciate all that concern. I know that our listeners know how regular I am. And I’m here rain, sleet, or snow, or sunshine, or whatever.
But every now and then, I step away from the microphone. and I was glad to know that there are people that cared that much, that within minutes and even hours, I was getting phone calls to find out if I was okay. Thank you for that concern and God bless all of you who care that much to worry when I’m not on the air. And we appreciate it a lot. This is Bibleline. We had Chris Colin from Lakeland, Florida, and he said, how is the word damnation used in 1 Timothy 5 2 2 Peter 2 3?
How can a preacher use scripture like these for loss of salvation? Well, let me turn over there and take a look and it’s an answer to Chris. By the way, the phone line is open. You can call in while we take a look at this. And we’re now turning to 1 Timothy 5. Timothy chapter 5 verse 12. I’m almost there. First Timothy chapter 5 and verse 12. Let’s see here. First Timothy chapter 5 verse 12 says, having damnation. The word, you know, damnation here is used the other place.
This means judgment. And obviously if you are a believer, you are judged differently than an unbeliever. The judgment to the unbelievers will be cast into hell. The judgment for the unbeliever later at the Great White Throne Judgment is to determine the degree of punishment he will receive there. The judgment for the believer took place at the cross. When we stand before the Lord, we will give a judgment. We will be at a judgment called the Judgment of Christ where the degree of reward we will receive in heaven will be determined.
Look at the one in Peter and see what that one says. I have that verse partially memorized, but let’s take a look at it. It says here, this is clearly talking about hell here because this talks about those who deny the Lord that bought them and and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And so the destruction here is that of hell. And it says here in verse three, their damnation, slum breath not. In other words, they are going to wind up in hell.
Those who are false teachers who deny Christ will wind up in hell. Certainly no loss of salvation there at all. and amazing how those who believe you can lose salvation will take these passages and twist them from what they really are we’re going to go to bill in lakeland bill welcome to the bible bill well yeah bill okay dr hank uh… uh… question about an article i read yesterday’s paper uh… it was up in the advert paid advertisement about a bunch of temple for bill and this doctor or hose something wanted to uh…
get people of Israel to move from a certain area into giada in south america sounds like a real kind of goofy thing but i don’t know if you read it or i did not read and heard several this morning call me and tell me about it i’m going to grab the paper sometime later today and take a look at it obviously that is craziness the Jews are right where they need to be in israel and we believe the third temple is about to be rebuilt in fact they’ve been pairing the stones and everything for worship now for years and years and the fellow who might build it an orthodox jute and lately he’s been so excited because uh…
that earthquake that happened about a month ago caused a crack in the dome of the rock mosque and is also caused stones the topple from the wailing wall where the women worship there on the western retaining wall and cause a crack in the eastern retaining wall things are happening in another good earthquake to bring the whole thing down and the third temple would be rebuilt and of course We know somewhere in that mix is the rapture. We’re going to go out of here.
Yeah, that’s great. But I think somebody said also he was saying that the temple could be built even without removing the mosque and I don’t believe that they are an abomination. One to the other. I don’t think the Muslims could tolerate a Jewish mosque on the same place, nor could it happen in reverse. This is going to be an intolerable situation. It’s one of the other and I believe the mosques are going to come down, perhaps maybe by an earthquake or some kind of collapse.
And the third temple is gonna be rebuilt right after the rapture. So we’re watching things happen that definitely are talked about in prophecy as some of it will happen. So I think we’re close. Okay, thank you very much. You’re welcome. I’m gonna get that article built and I’ll try to come in tomorrow after I’ve read it. I have not read it as yet, but I’ve been getting calls all morning about the article of paid advertisement in the Tampa Tribune yesterday.
The phone number is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. We’re having a lot of fun and getting excited about the fact that Jesus is coming back. We’re not date setters, but we’re talking about what the Bible says and we see so much in our news today that lets us know that we are probably getting close. Again, pray for Bible and as we attempt to expand outward. we are trusting God as we did from the very beginning when we went on the air. Here, we didn’t know how in the world we were going to pay for it.
We really didn’t have the money. We don’t have a resource right now. We don’t have a piggy bank or a backup. We don’t have a bank account that has a reserve. We basically trust God each week. I mean, it is just like that. And it is because of you that were still in the air. And sometimes it makes me a little nervous, but I trust that God, if He wants us on the air, will supply. And so we’re trusting God for what we don’t even have.
We don’t have any type of money right now set aside to expand. But we’re going to trust God as we take small steps here and move out to another area. And we do need your prayers and we do need your support. If that seems like something worthy in these last days to get the message out in a clear fashion, for those who are seeking the truth that they might find it, we might be the tool, and that you and I, as we partner together, would share in the fruit that is one through this Bibleline program.
Well, if you’d like to invest with us in eternal things, by giving you the Bibleline, you can send it to 4811 George Road, Tampa, Florida, 33634. Time for break, and so we’re going to break. Don’t change that dial. I’m Dr. Englund from this Bibleline, and I’m going to come right back after a short break, and we’ll be taking your question. So stay tuned. Away, Bibleline will be back in a moment. To pledge your support for Bibleline, give us a call at 1-800-576-3771.

I took the day off yesterday to get to the get some things done and we had so many calls that were worried about me and I thank you for your concern and so I’m okay. I think I am. People are looking here with great doubts as they look over at me but we’re alive and well and we’re back on the air.
We’re gonna go to Sarasota, we’re gonna talk to Bob. Bob, welcome to Bibleline. Good morning. Good morning. I have a question for you and it’s the one about where Jesus talks about the if the right-hand affinity or the I offended pluck it out and cast it from the right hand to Fendi cut cast cut it off and cast it from the better the Enter the kingdom of heaven halt Then I hope body should perish Good. I’m gonna hang up and let you comment on that all right and I haven’t heard you comment on that yet So I thought I’d throw that and I get it absolutely Thank you, Bob.
All right talking about that passage. You know, it’s interesting that I had a real-life experience I had a a family they had a son they were wealthy family and their son was a young jet setter and he was headed off for a trip around the world and his mom and dad were concerned about his salvation he didn’t know the Lord and so they said would I talk to him and I said I’d be delighted to so they scheduled an appointment for their son before he launched his tour on the world and what an interesting meeting he came and he looked at his watch and pointed at and he said, you’ve got exactly one hour.
My folks asked if I would come and talk to you and they arranged it, but give your best shot, you got one hour. So I explained the gospel and I explained how he could be saved. Anyway, he wasn’t buying in any of that. And so I said, you know, what would it take to convince you? I said, you know, it talks in Mark’s Gospel that if whatever it is, the loss of our hand or foot or a leg, if that would bring you to Christ, it’d be better to lose part of your body than to be cast into hell having your body hold.
And so I said, let’s say that I were to pray that when you left here, that you were in an and your left leg was severed, would that be enough to convince you? He said, no, that could happen to anybody. That could be a coincidence. No, he wouldn’t buy into that. And I said, you know, what if we were more specific? Let’s say that your left leg, four inches above the knee, was cut off clean.
I believe if it would take that to get you saved, that God would do it. If you would agree, I’ll pray. And if you agree to it, I believe God would probably answer that prayer, if that’s the only way you could become saved. And he said, no, don’t do that. He said, don’t pray that prayer. He got a little bit frightened. Well, anyway, I said, well, would you let me just pray that God would get your attention? And he said, we can do that.
And I said, if you’re sincere and we pray that God gets your attention, he’s going to get your attention. So we prayed. And I did not see him for quite a while. And later, I saw him about a year later, he came back to me and he said, guess what? He said that, he said, I went to Africa, my first leg of my trip, and I know more than I got there and I contracted hepatitis, and I was in a hospital there for six months, nearly died.
They shipped me back to the States, and I was in a hospital another six months, and now I’m recovered. But I remembered the prayer that you prayed. And he says, I’m a believer now. I trusted Christ as my Savior. By the way, this man is now a missionary down in South America in Peru. Isn’t that amazing? So Bob, I believe that’s the answer. It would be better, you know, if you’re sitting out there and you wonder about is it true, is the Bible true, is God true?
If it would take the loss of a finger, a leg, and I to get you to come to know Christ, Would it be worth it? Jesus said yes. Because it’d be better to have a body missing apart here, to go to heaven and get a whole body there, than to have a whole body here, and be cast alive into the eternal lake of fire with a whole body. So Bob, that’s the answer to that. And thanks for your call.
We’ll see what happens. We’re trusting that God is gonna supply for us. I’ll tell you, we are excited about getting out there with this message. And we’re trusting that you’re gonna stand there with us help us and if you can’t give anything we understand we love you just as much but if you could give. It would really allow this to take place, so we’re trusting that God is going to do that. We’re going to go to Clearwater, and we’re going to talk to Brad, and Brad, welcome to Bibleline.
Yes, Dr. Lindstrom. Yes, yes. Okay, I have a question for you. I listened to the radio in the morning, and I could have sworn, I heard one of the preachers say that when Cain died, he went to hell. Can you emphasize some of that? When who died? died? Well guess what? He’s not in hell yet. He’s in Hades and nobody’s in hell yet. So you’re going to hang up and we’ll talk about it I guess. Okay. Alright, Cain was lost and obviously he died as an unsaved man but all the unsaved and this will continue till after the thousand year rule of Christ is over.
They go to Hades in the heart of the earth a place of torment. Luke 16 beginning verse 19 to the end of the chapter Christ pulls back the curtain and shows what happens there, but the lost are in flame and torment. They cannot escape. There is no second chance. They are fully conscious of their situation and they are suffering in the flame and torment that they are experiencing there, but they are not in hell yet. Jesus said in Matthew 2541 that hell was created for the devil and his angels.
According to the Bible, not until the thousand-year rule of Christ is over, when Satan is cast into hell, Revelation 20 verse 10 where it says the devil that deceived them was cast into the eternal lake of fire and brimstone where the beasts and the false prophet are and should be tormented day and night forever and ever. When that happens, then St. Zangels followed and they’re cast in and then all the lost are brought up out of the heart of the earth out of Hades, assigned a degree of punishment according to their works, their deeds and the great white-thrown judgment described in Revelation 20 verses 11 through 15, then they’re cast into the everlasting lake of fire.
So Cain didn’t go to hell. He He is destined for hell, and he’s in Hades right now, but Cain is not in hell yet. Nobody’s in hell yet. Hell is empty according to the Bible. So whatever you heard was not right. Hell is reserved for him, but he’s not in hell yet. All right. We have other people calling up, and we had a lady call up about the resurrection of Christ, and she brings up the passage in Luke’s Gospel in chapter 24 where Christ is walking along the road to Emmaus and they’re talking about the death of Christ.
They don’t realize they’re walking with Christ himself. And this is on the first day of the week because Christ is resurrected. And now they’re saying, this is the third day since this was done. And the key word there is sense, which means that he was crucified on Wednesday, And then there had been three full days that had followed after that took place. And so they were actually now on the fourth day when they were talking here and the keyword is sense.
So it’s still the same time period. He’s crucified on Wednesday, placed in the grave of Sunday, rather Wednesday at 6 p.m., raised days and three nights later. And so there Christ rose Saturday night at sundown, we believe. That’s really the answer. You ought to get my sheet where I go into great detail and show in diagram that statement in reference to when he died. But Christ the truth is if I don’t Wednesday, raised Saturday night sundown. And the Sunday morning was a discovery of the empty tomb.
We’re gonna go to Helen off the air. She called in and asked, is the word Reverend biblical? Are women pastors biblical? Have there been any in the Bible? And of course, the word Reverend is only to be used of God. He’s the only one who is to be reverent. So I don’t like the term reverent, although in some circles I’m called that. And I just smile and let it go by because then I have time to give a lecture to everybody who uses the word.
But I personally don’t use it on my business card or on my literature. I stay away from the word because only God is to be reverent. And so I don’t believe a man should ever be called reverent when only God is to be reverent. What about the women pastors? No, there are not any women pastors. There have been women who have been greatly used of God. And we have Deborah as a judge in Israel and other women that have been used significantly.
But as pastors, no. Now, 2 Timothy, let me turn there, I believe it, 2 Timothy, but it turns out it’s 1 Timothy. Timothy chapter 2 verse 12 says He does not allow a woman to teach nor usurp authority over the man but to be in silence. So women can do some things under the authority of man, but never are they to be the pastor or usurp authority over men. And so therefore no women preachers. Christ didn’t choose any women apostles, did He?
Didn’t choose any women deacons either. we find that they were all men. And the Bible gives the answer why in 1 Timothy 2 and verse 13. First of all, for order, Adam was first formed and then Eve, because Adam was first formed, therefore the man got this responsibility, not the woman. Secondly, women apparently, because their makeup is different, they think more emotionally than factually, and men think more factually than emotionally. And so because of that, women are more easily deceived in the area of spiritual things.
And the Bible warns about religious systems begun by women. You know, a lot of the cults have been found by women. And that doesn’t mean that women aren’t smart, that they are wonderful or lovely or anything else. It just means that God said, no, men were to do that responsibility. So I believe there’s some smart women out there, and there’s some women are wonderful, Wonderful, but they’re just not to be preachers and I hope I don’t get all the ladies too mad at me today All right, we’re gonna go to Jose in St.
Petersburg and welcome Jose to Bible in good morning How are you and you were one of those who called in was concerned about me? I think you for the concern I was just very humbled by by the numerous calls it called in to see if I was okay and and I just didn’t even think that that would happen but thank you thank you for everybody who cares and and is uh… you know just really supportive of this program and was concerned about my health or well-being yesterday because i was on their live well you definitely missed well thank you and i like to be live every time and i thought well there’s some things i just need to get done i’ll take the day off and uh…
i didn’t realize i’d cause a stir that that program that you did leave on the air was an excellent program though it uh… uh… it went over a lot of uh… general topic that uh… we’re good to hear one more time but i got a question for you uh… are you there i’m listening intently absolutely i’m leaning over on top of the microphone in my my ears are up and i’m listening to everywhere you say it is that he was eight thirteen uh…
the bobby old testament that vanishing away okay and then loop twenty two forty four christ fulfilled the old testament that what that you know what is it that what the question is christian price well well i want to know is it is it actually something we don’t need to pay attention to according to those scriptures or is it uh… what what’s your uh… take on that well obviously nobody ever be saved by the law that was given amount sign night.
And that covenant that was given among Sinai was inferior to the new covenant that Christ ratified by His death and shed blood at the cross. And nobody could ever be saved by the old covenant because we could never live by it and because of the weakness in our flesh and that we’re sinners and have broken God’s laws and therefore are condemned by it. But Christ came and fulfilled it in that He is sinless and He fulfilled the Old and therefore by his death in our place he could impute his very righteousness to the account of the one who believes on him as Savior and they could be absolutely assured of their salvation.
So that is a mean that we are to go out and break the ten commandments or… No, I’m not saying that. You know, obviously, but we are under a higher law under the New law under the New Testament covenant, and that is the law of love. And Christ said all the Old Testament law was fulfilled in that we love our neighbor. We’re not going to lie to our neighbor. We’re not going to steal from our neighbor. We’re not going to murder our neighbor.
We’re not going to cheat our neighbor. And basically, if we love the Lord, we’re going to please Him with our lives. And so on and so on. So the law of love is what is commanding the believer in the New Testament, and it’s not the negative things. You know, if I were the false out of rules, when I came into the office every day and say, you know, they’ll shall do this and they’ll shall do that, I’d probably just go.
And do the minimum of this required? I mean a lot of people, they’re regular work stations, that’s what they do. But because I love what I’m doing, I do more than is called of me, and I spend more hours at work than I probably should. But I do it because I love it. And when you’re, you know, directed by love, you do more than is required. And when it says it’s vanishing away, does that mean that that Old Testament is literally going to disappear someday?
going to be out of the picture i believe that probably some you know i in some regards that little totally just slip away but obviously will always be reminded i think in eternity about how we were centers laws condemned but yet redeemed by the blood of christ and will sing about how we were redeemed forever so there’s there’s a recollection that we were violators of that covenant and and the christ came to our rescue and came as our savior okay okay your time already and uh…
let’s see here we have uh… trying to get my phones all set up here off here we have brady apparently called back first time call or recall back again why did god chasin came and put his seed put his seal of protection well i was the first murder and obviously uh… came uh… was uh… you know at risk others might kill him because of what he did to able and so god uh… uh… said no they couldn’t do that but his punishment was ban was that he was banished and uh…
so he protected him but uh… perhaps is his concern and love that maybe that of his lineage that those there would be those who trust lord but apparently nobody that we know of of canes lineage ever did trust lord a savior but god’s long-suffering is patient says in second peter three nine that he’s not willing to any should perish but the all should come repent and so perhaps God in his love and in his long suffering allows for king’s descendants to live on and they lived until the flood and then they were all drowned they were all destroyed we’re gonna go to kneel in angle would and kneel welcome hi dr hank how are you good are you here this good down there in England so i can barely hear you but you’re listening yeah what’s wonderful thank you uh…
first of all like to thank you very much for your program i listened to you when i’m driving my doctor or you know around the area here and usually i uh… i’d dare say i learned more from you on a radio in my dump truck than i do a church well i’m glad that we’re uh… a blessing to you that way but you know i was raised in church and another feeling where you can go and go and go and just never learn anything Well, you’re certainly a blessing to me and I’m proud to contribute to Bibleline.
Well, thank you. Thank you. I have a couple of questions for you. Go for it. Okay. You talked about this before and I wrote it down on my truck, but I guess I got the wrong verses down. The first one is the tongues, I have a written down here. When did the tongues stop? And where can I find that in the Bible? All right. 13 verses 8 through 10 says that tongues would cease when that which is perfect is come.
We believe that is the Scriptures. And even before the Scriptures were completed in 80, 96 when the book of Revelation, the final book was added to the Bible, that we believe that tongues already cease. There are three listings of the tongues. First Corinthians, which was the earliest book of the three, we’re going to mention the second one is Ephesians. In the listing of the gifts and Ephesians 4, tongues are already gone. When you get to the Book of Romans, which is the last of these three books, it lists the gifts, tongues is off the list there.
So I believe it already ceased as the Bible was progressing. And by the time the book revelations added, it was done for. And church history bears that out. Nobody, the early church fathers up to the 4th century did not write about speaking in tongues. They wrote about everything, but they didn’t do the spectacular gifts. Then you read down through the dark ages and up to the Reformation. Nobody spoke in tongues. There’s no reference in history that they did. And then during the Reformation and through the 1800s, nobody did.
And it wasn’t until 1904 or 1906, according to the Charismatic themselves. In one particular book called They Speak with Other Tongues by a Man named Cheryl. They write a history of this modern day movement, which is, I believe, a counterfeit. And they, they, they, they touched the dates 1904, 1906, either in the Midwest or in California. But in one of those two places, they, they claim the origin of the modern movement. And I believe it’s a counterfeit movement that’s sweeping today, but it’s not the real gift.
The word of knowledge and what is being done today on these TV shows and by these preachers and evangelists is that they claim to know something personal about you or circumstances. That’s a bit fortunate telling. I believe they’re practicing witchcraft in the churches today, believe it or not. But the witchcraft they do that. But the word of knowledge was really prior to the New Testament being completed was to have perfect recall, I believe, or knowledge of an event in the life of Christ to be able to tell it, maybe you were there present at the feeding of the 5,000 and you would recall, with perfect recall, what happened and tell the story with accuracy.
That I believe was the gift. It had nothing to do with fortune telling, which is what the modern day gift is degenerated into and you see the national preacher saying, I have a word of knowledge and there’s somebody out here that has a pancreas problem. And then they claim that they’re going to heal it based on that. And that’s just phony baloney. That is not what the gift of knowledge is. So we have you have to really just say that a lot of today we’re really in an age of deception and Christ warned in the last days let no man deceive you.
And the only way to not be deceived is know your Bible well enough that you aren’t tricked by what they’re doing. And when did to stop and where is it found in the Bible? I believe at the same time with tongues and all that the spectacular gifts just went off the scene. They were confirming the word. In Mark 16, you have five gifts there, all spectacular. And it says as the disciples went out, they spoke the word and the Lord working with them confirmed the word with signs.
So these spectacular gifts were signs to confirm the spoken word until the New Testament record was written down but once the New Testament was completed they were no longer necessary they disappeared. So I believe that the divine healing gift is gone and the ones that claim that they have it today I don’t see them doing what the real gift enabled them to do and I don’t see them raising the dead I don’t see them replacing missing flesh I don’t see somebody going on stage with one leg and coming off with two so I believe that what we’re seeing today is a counterfeit.
Okay, and last one is kind of strange. What are the humanoid type bones that they found, like the bones that they found in China, and they called it, they called it Lucy, and they said they’re a million years old. What do you think those are? I’m sure they must, they’re either apes or they’re men, they’re not anything in between, there isn’t such a transition. Right. Transitional form. And basically they’re trying to say that that was one of our great, great, great ancestors.
Right. But basically, Lucy, I think was some sort of a gibbon or ape and not human at all. Well, thank you very much. All right. All right. You’re very welcome. And the evolution is not true for sure. And you know, they recently applied DNA and they’re going to do this, I’m sure, to more of these fossils, but they applied it to crow magnum men a year or so ago. And they showed there’s absolutely no current connection between the crow magnum and the human species.
I think as science advances, they’re going to find out that they’re really holding the shorted in a mistake that’s uh… uh… the whole thing is a counterfeit and uh… but time you know it takes time and eventually we’re on the winning side i think they’ll be show up uh… embarrassed and and and and find that science will work against them as time goes along but in the meantime we’re taking uh… uh… hit as christians because we believe in creation but i definitely believe that we’re going to be deer beach and we have uh…
rob on the line rob welcome to bible and good morning morning um… i had a question about uh… where we’re talking about can you enable yeah and um… came with that out uh… i guess in chapter four of jennises and thirteen he was talking you know about who is banished yes yeah he was banished to the land of nad well i mean um… was there folks on the earth now with other people besides adam and ev yeah absolutely uh…
at the time of the murder they were both about a hundred twenty five years of age somebody speculated because part of the curse was multiple births and we believe can enable were twins that uh… probably the time of the murder given a hundred twenty five years transpiring that there may have been as many as a hundred thousand people in the earth at the time of the murder so uh… and can is saying that everyone that find me shall slay me so he was fully aware that there was a pretty good population around So he was banished with his wife to the land of Nunn.
Okay, because I was just wondering who he was. He said, whoever finds me will kill me. And he said, no, I’m gonna have to put a mark on your head. I was just wondering who the people were. There you go. There was a bunch of people that had already come forth. Of course they married brothers and sisters. The first man was perfectly created and incest was not worn against until Moses came along some 1500 or later years since Adam.
Okay. Oh, why sure appreciate your answer. You’re very welcome. And thank you. for your show and I’ll be praying for your expansion that you want to. Thank you, Rob. We have two other callers and we just don’t have time. I’m Dr. Englunds from If You’ve Never Trusted Christ. Just tell the Lord, Lord, I’m a sinner, but I believe Jesus died for me. Paid for my sin dead and full was buried. Rose again for the dead. I trust Him as my only hope of heaven and God will save you.
Make that second decision to become a disciple and live for Christ and God will reward you and you’ll be glad you did. You’ve been listening to Bibleline, a presentation of Bibleline Ministries of Tampa, Florida.
Now more than ever, your regular monthly donations to Bibleline make it possible for this ministry to continue in your area. Please contact us today and lend your prayerful and financial support. The Bible Lines address is 40-8-11-George Road, Tampa, Florida, 33634, or visit Bibleline online at BibleLineMinistries.org. Be sure to tune in to another edition of Bibleline from Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida. Well, I’m Dr. Englund, and we’ve had a great day today. This is our first day of the week, and this is my birthday today.
It’s exciting to be able to take some of my birthday and share it with you as we talk here about God’s Word on Bible and of course we’ll be here all week long. I hope you’ll be joining us every day if not on live broadcast to going to the website. You can catch us anytime a day and if you wanted a call and leave an offer a question you can do that or you can actually plan to make your call between 10 and 11 Eastern time and you’ll actually be able to get up on the air and ask your question.
We’re excited about the book of 2 Peter that We’re teaching right now that’ll be available after one more Tuesday after tomorrow night or two more Tuesdays including tomorrow night. We’ll finish the 10 hours of teaching that will be available on CD or DVD. We hope you’ll take advantage. Also we want you to know that you can watch our worship services on the internet. Click on the camera and if you go there at 11 o’clock on Sunday morning you can actually catch the worship service live.
We have people really all over the world that watch that service and all over the course the United States of America. You’re not going to be effective if you’re not ready as a Christian. And in order to become ready, you need to prepare yourself. That’s why I believe our CD series and our DVD series of teachings will really help you and prepare you. Oftentimes when I’m teaching, especially in the classroom, we talk about the topic of hermeneutics without using that word.
This is a Greek word that impresses people, but it means really the science of interpretation of the Bible. How do you interpret the Bible? How do you know you have the right interpretation? And the tips on how to do that are often just right there in my teachings as we teach you how to be able to do that. We’re excited about what God is doing through Bibleline and how we are now going to have the opportunity to be on the air with our television programs in Turkey and it won’t cost us anything.
That’s the best part, but they’re going to take and translate our programs into Turkey and broadcast them on satellite over the country of Turkey. And of course, other countries will be able to receive it in the Middle East, but we’re excited about what God is going to do with these programs. And so, pray for all these opportunities. And of course, for the internet opportunities as we had a soldier in our service last night who told about how when he was in Afghanistan, They had lots of the guys in the barracks gathered around the laptop and actually watch our worship services in Afghanistan which he said really helped them through those difficult days.
So we’re glad that Bible and is a blessing and our worship services are out there for you to watch, the TV programs are out there for you to watch and so on. We got a run so join us again tomorrow.
