Jesus Christ laid His credibility on the line when He said, “For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth (Matthew 12:40).” If, therefore, the story of Jonah is not true then the story of Christ is not true. If the story of Jonah is fiction, then the story of Christ is fiction. We believe that all Scripture is inspired of God and is without error (II Timothy 3:16). Jesus Christ stated clearly that Jonah was a prophet of God in Matthew 12:39 and in Luke 11:29. Also, II Kings 14:25 states that Jonah is a prophet. Jesus said, “O fools and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken (Luke 24:25).” We are to believe all that the prophets have spoken.

Jesus laid his credibility on the line when he said, for as Jonah was three days and three nights in the Wales Valley, social as Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. That’s in Matthew 1240. If therefore the story of Jonah is not true, then the story of Christ is not true. If the story of Jonah is fiction, then the story of Christ is fiction. Interesting, isn’t it? Truly Christ laid his credibility right on the line when he connected his own death, barrel, and resurrection with the story of Jonah.
Now we believe all scriptures inspired of God and is without error. 2 Timothy 3, 16 tells us that all scripture is given by inspiration of God. Jesus Christ stated clearly that Jonah was a prophet of God in Matthew 1239, also in Luke 1129. Also in 2 Kings 1425 it says that Jonah is a prophet. Jesus said, O fools and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken in Luke 24 25. So we are to believe all that the prophets have spoken.
Therefore, we are to believe the story of Jonah. And contrary to what many people have heard, Jonah was not swallowed by a whale. The Bible states, now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights, Jonah 117. Well, a fish does not breathe there, it has no lungs, takes in oxygen from the water through its skills, a whale is not a fish but a mammal.
And a whale has lungs and breathes air through the nostrils or vents leading to its lungs. Somebody might say, well, what about Matthew 1240? Well in the King James translation the word whale is used, but the Greek word kitas means a large fish. Certainly God could have prepared a minnow if he had wanted to. All too often the picture we have is a distortion of what the Bible really says. Many think of the story of Jonah as a fairy tale.
The Jonah sat in a chair in the fishes’ belly and there was a candle burning on the table. Pictures hung about the wall of the fishes’ belly. The Jonah patiently waited out the three days and three nights until he was vomited out on dry land. But according to the Bible, Jonah died. in the fishes belly. That’s right. You heard me right. Jonah died in the fishes belly. Now that might destroy your image of what Jonah is all about because most of us have been taught wrong.
I’ve heard sermons and many preachers believe that Jonah died and many believe it’s just a fair tale. That tells you what they believe about the Bible. It doesn’t it or how little they know about the Bible perhaps. It is amazing how many people think that Jonah lived in the Fish’s Valley and therefore many well-meaning Christians seek high and low, turn heaven and earth upside down in a search for a fish that would prove that Jonah was able to breathe there and live in the Fish’s Valley.
Well Jonah in the book of Jonah said that he went down to Sheol, S-H-E-O-L. That’s a place in the heart of the earth where Jesus went. When Jesus died, He told the dying thief, today that I shall be with me in paradise. And we know that paradise was in Sheol or the Greek word is Hades. Well, in any case, in Jonah 2-2, Jonah said, I went down to the bottoms of the mountains, and the earth with their Your bars was about me forever, yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption.
O Lord my God, Jonah 2-6. Jonah’s soul was in the heart of the earth three days and three nights, exactly as Christ was in the heart of the earth three days and three nights, Matthew 1240. The Bible teaches that there’s a hollow place in the center of the earth called Shio, S-H-E-O-L, in the Old Testament and Hades, aka the New Testament. There is a place of comfort called Paradise and a place of torment and shield, or Hades separated by a huge gulf.
Luke 1626 says there’s a gulf that separates where the saved would go prior to the death of the Federal Resurrection Christ and where the laws would go and continue to go into this place in the heart of the earth. All of the dead saved and lost went to Hades or Sheol and that was prior to the death barrel of resurrection of Christ. The saved were waiting for the payment for their sins to be made. The lost are still waiting to be cast into the everlasting lake of fire or hell according to Revelation 20 verse 14.
When Jesus died, He went to hit his shield to the paradise part. When the dying thief that was crucified with Christ asked to be saved, Jesus said to him truly or verily verily, today thou should be with me in paradise. So we learn that paradise was in the heart of the earth when Jesus was resurrected. He emptied out paradise and took the Old Testament believers up to heaven since Calvary the believers. A pat upon death, interdirectly into the presence of the Lord, were absent from the body, present with the Lord’s 2 Corinthians 5-8.
Jonah’s death, pictured the death and the barrel and the resurrection of Christ. Jonah booked passage on a ship to flee the presence of the Lord. God sent a great storm that threatened the lives of all those that were on the boat, and the attempts of the seaman to save themselves were futile. In the semen asked how to be saved, Jonah said, take me up and cast me forth into the sea and social the sea become unto you. Well Jonah had to die for those on the ship to be saved.
And Jesus had to die for those on the earth to be saved. And so Jonah gave up his life. Jesus gave up his life. Jonah’s body was entombed in the fishes’ belly while Jonah’s soul went down into the heart of the earth. Jesus’ body was entombed in a rich man’s tomb while his soul went down into the heart of the earth. And so Jonah was resurrected and his soul brought up from Shiel and re-entered his body, which was in the Fishes Valley, but Jesus was resurrected and his soul brought up from Hades or Shiel and re-entered his body, which was in the tomb.
Jonah was then seen alive and preached to the people of Nineveh. Jesus also was seen alive after his resurrection and preached unto his disciples. The one sign that Jesus gave to prove his identity that he was indeed the Messiah was the story of Jonah. His critics demanded a sign, and Jesus had been certain of the scribes and the Pharisees answered saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee, but he answered and said unto them an evil in an adulterous generation, seeketh after a sign.
There is no sign be given to it but the sign of the Prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the fishes belly, social and son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Jonah died in that fishes belly. His soul went down into shield or Hades in the heart of the earth and after three days and three nights he was resurrected. He re-entered that body. He was vomited up on the shore.
Jesus also died and his soul went down into the heart of the earth where he told the dying thief that he would meet him there in paradise. And then after three days his soul came up out of the heart of the earth. He emptied the place out of the believers, took him up to heaven, re-entered the body that was in the tomb and showed himself alive for 40 days as he preached and taught. Sighting stuff isn’t. This is Bible item Dr.
Ankerman’s term and we’re going to go ahead and take phone calls if you’d like to call us. The phone number is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. So you’re welcome to call us. We want to welcome all of you that are listening to Bibleline via the radio stations that we’re on across America. anywhere on the earth. Do you have friends in other countries, maybe in the military over there in the Middle East or wherever they can watch Bible and television on the computer 24 hours a day, seven days a week. So when it is convenient for them, they can tune it in. That is exciting, I think. Alright, we have some offer questions and we’re going to take the live questions today and we are excited about being able to be with you.
Again, this Sunday we’re going to be celebrating July 4th, this Sunday, July 2nd. It’ll be a wonderful picnic, you’re invited, be my guest. Come to the 1030 service or come earlier for Sunday school and adult education and then at When the 1030 service is over, we’re going to head back to the back of our property to a wonderful shaded area with picnic tables and we’ll be grilling hotdogs and hamburgers and having special music and it’ll be an event for the kids and for the parents.
It’ll be a wonderful time. I hope you’ll plan to join us. All right, we’re going to go to Steve down in Sarasota, Florida, or I guess he leaves an off air question. He says, what is the purpose? of Jonah going down into the heart of the earth. Well, obviously, when a person dies, their soul leaves their body. And in the Old Testament times, the soul would go, if they were lost, to a place of torment in the heart of the earth.
And if they were saved, they would go to Paradise, which is in the heart of the earth. Jonah being saved, the prophet of the Lord, he went to Paradise, and there he was a perfect picture of the death-parallel resurrection of Christ as Christ said he would be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth Matthew 1240 and that he would be there in paradise. He would meet the dying thief. He’s told the dying thief in Luke 2343, today thou shalt be with me in paradise.
And so when Christ arose out of the heart of the earth, he took the believers with him, took him up to heaven, emptied it out. And so it was a beautiful picture of the death, the resurrection of Christ. Thank you, Steve, for calling in. We also have now Jerry in Lakeland. He says, please explain the parable in Matthew, and I’m turning over there now, chapter 21 in verse 28. And it says here, and this is a great parable that explains Repentance.
Luke 21, 28 says, What think ye? A certain man had two sons. He came to the first son and he said, Son, go work today in my vineyard. And he answered and said, I will not. But afterward he repented and went. The Greek word means to change your mind. And so he said, I will not. But then he changed his mind and he went. So that’s what repentance is all about. a change of mind, it does not mean to turn from sin, it does not mean sorrow for sin, but repent means to change your mind.
Most preachers get that wrong. The problem is they go to their English dictionary and the Greek word metant noya, which means change your mind, was not translated correctly into English. The Greek word does not mean the same thing as the English word repent and so that’s caused untold confusion. If you go to your English Dictionary it means sorrow for sin or turning from sin but if you go to the Greek word then the gunned in the Greek language, the Greek word simply means a change of mind.
You know when you trust Christ you repent because you change your mind about whatever you you are previously trusting in Christ. For example, this gets it all. If you understand this, you understand it all. You can repent without believing, but you cannot believe without repenting. In other words, you can repent or change your mind without trusting Christ as Savior. But you cannot believe or trust Christ as Savior without having changed your mind or repenting. So every believer has repented.
They’ve changed their mind, maybe about how to be saved, or about who Jesus Christ is, or the Bible message being true. And when they changed their mind and accept Christ and trust Him by faith, that by His death and shed blood, He paid your sin debt and full, God saves you. But repentance does not mean to turn from sin or to be sorry for sin. That is obviously something that Satan must be delighted in, because that would add human works to the point of salvation.
If you have to change your life to be saved, that would be works in the Bible says salvation is none of yourself. It’s the gift of God, it’s not of works. As many mentioned, both Ephesians 2, 8, and 9. We have just down in Venice, Florida and just rather welcome to Bibleline. Hey, Dr. Hank, how are you doing? A quick question for you. Why is it commonly referred to as the 12 apostles when there had to be a minimum of 15, according to the Bible?
Is that just I would say wrong teaching because if you ask Paul… Could this shift out? No, not at all. Actually, there were just 12. You know, in Matthew chapter 10, when Christ sent out His Apostles, there were 12, and those are the so-called, called the group, called the 12. And then, of course, Judas committed suicide. He was replaced by Paul. And the word Apostle can be loosely used. It means sent one. And in a way, you and I are apostles as we are sent by God as believers to take the gospel and all the world.
So in a loose sense we can be called an apostle but there were actually 12 official apostles and Judas died and was replaced by Paul and so those are the 12 and if you read what he kept your 10 when he selects the 12 He lists all 12 right there that are the original 12 which are the 12 Okay, but I thought Judas was replaced by who was a naphos That was Peter out of order Peter was told after when Christ was here on the earth during those 40 days after his resurrection to wait for what would happen at Pentecost and Peter got antsy like he always did and he couldn’t wait and during those 10 days that they had to wait till the 50th day which was Pentecost for the Holy Spirit to come, Peter stood up and said look you know we need to replace
Judas and he was out of order and they elected Matthias but that’s the last mention of him in the Bible. He’s just a nice guy, probably a great Christian, but you never read anything more about him. He was not God’s choice. And then Paul, all the rest of his ministry, has to defend his apostleship. And I think he alludes back to what Peter did by saying, especially in Galatians, he says, I’m an apostle, not by men nor of men, but by Jesus Christ himself.
He said, Christ picked me out. And so he’s alluding to the fact that men elected Matthias, and peter was strictly out of order okay in james was not one of the original twelve correct yes and uh… uh… i don’t believe he was though he was one of the brothers of christ half brothers of christ and uh… and what do you have a reference that calls him in the puzzle you know what i’m driving down the street at this all comes from reading a really good book but there’s something confused me i’m reading a system i don’t I don’t know the reference it calls him an apostle, but you know if there is I’ll have to be stand corrected But I don’t think there is a reference it calls him that but I’ll search it my concordance and take a fresh look But I don’t think
James was and his letter begins by saying James a servant of God Right right right now, but I don’t know of a verse that says he was an apostle Now there was a verse and I’ll go ahead and email that verse to you when I find it. Yeah. Like I said, I’m driving down the street. One of us was called an apostle. Okay. But you said that was called, that was used loosely. I think so. And some people use it today.
I don’t like to use it because I think it should probably remain exclusively for those twelve. But it does mean the technical, you know, the definition of the word is a were to be sent one and so even Jesus in that sense is called an apostle in Hebrew chapter 4. So Christ was a sent one, he was God so loved the world, he sent his son to die for you and me and so he was in that sense a sent one or an apostle.
But one of the requirements of that also was seeing the resurrected Christ correct? That is correct. Okay, sorry. Yeah, really good to use the name. Well thank you very much that too. Alright, that was a good question and maybe we’ll get some more feedback on that. If you have a question you are welcome to call in or give us your comment. We have a rock in Tampa, Fort, calling in. He says, please explain what the Jehovah’s Witnesses believe. He has a friend that is a Jehovah’s Witness and is confused.
Well, the Jehovah’s Witnesses, it’s easier to tell you what they don’t believe. They don’t believe in the Trinity. They don’t believe in the deity of Christ. They don’t believe in the resurrection of Christ. They don’t believe Christ is God. They call Him Michael the Archangel. They also don’t believe in salvation by faith. They don’t believe in hell. They believe the wicked dead will be annihilated. They don’t believe in celebrating birthdays. They don’t believe in going to war for your country.
They don’t believe in saluting the flag. I guess I could go on all day telling you what they don’t believe. That would be easier than trying to tell you what they do believe. But they are lost. They are obviously in trouble because they reject Jesus as the only means of salvation. And so therefore we need to pray for these people. They are totally lost. the Joe’s witnesses claim that they are witnesses for Jehovah. But guess what? They are false witnesses and the very verse that they take their name from proves that.
It says in Isaiah 43 10, which is a verse addressed to Israel. It says, you are my witnesses, save Jehovah. And it goes on to say there that Jehovah tells his witnesses Israel, not the Jehovah’s witnesses, that they are to witness that there was no God formed before Jehovah. Jehovah, neither would there be a God formed after him. But listen to this, Jehovah’s Witnesses say that Jesus Christ is a God, that he was a created being created after God was here.
And therefore they become false witnesses because they say that Jesus Christ is a God. And Jehovah says, if you’re going to be a true witness of mine, there is no God formed after me, so therefore they are false witnesses. Whenever I meet one, I always like to tell them, would you like to meet a true Jehovah’s witness? And they usually say, yes, and I said, I stand my hands and shake my hand. You’re a false witness, but I’m a true witness.
You are saying to people that there was a God formed after Jehovah, and Jesus is that God formed after Jehovah that he’s a God, but not the God. Therefore your false witness, I’m a true witness of Jehovah and I’m telling you that Jesus Christ is God who came and took on human flesh to die to pay for your sins. We’re going to go to Petersburg, Virginia and there we have Edgar waiting on the line and Edgar welcome to my line. Hey what’s up Dr. Hank? I’m calling because I know the other day that you have said that angels don’t have wings, right? That is great. Okay, I stumbled across a verse in Isaiah 6 and 2. Those are the seraphim. Now I believe that the cherubim and the seraphim are special living creatures that do have wings and are not the same as the angel angels that we talk about.
So those are unique creatures and it says in Revelation chapter 4, in fact, around the throne of God there are these four living creatures. Those are the cherubim, but also around the throne of God are the seraphim. They do have wings and not just two. If you read carefully, they have more than two wings. And it got six of them. You got it. And so that’s not the typical angel, but angels wherever they appear in the Bible are mistaken for men apparently just like a man in and the genesis nineteen when the two angels come in the solemn to destroy the city uh…
people didn’t say look at those angels they have wings on them up and uh… they uh… in fact mistook them for men and they wanted to rape them and uh… you see the passage they’re telling us that they wanted to take them by force and of course uh… they were angels and they Story in that City, apart from that family in the escape of abright. So, angels always of here as men are mistaken for men. And, uh, even when Abraham was sitting at his tent door and Genesis 18.
He saw three men, it says appearances him. Turns out two of the angels destroyed Sodom in the other was Jesus himself a pre-incarnate appearance of Christ in the Old Testament. So that’s a good, good point you brought up. but the seraphim in the chair of him i believe our special created beings not angels and uh… so that’s where the confusion comes in the other day and i was the one i actually about arm been able to uh… teach arm other young men and ladies and arm you said that if they have the sanction of the pastor that arm that was meeting said especially for arm for other females now i also act you a female teacher we set their court class and i don’t know if you thought i met uh…
uh… where classes in the teachers being male and female are meant to harm a poor classes in the students being mixed with the uh… male and female pupils i think uh… what women are not to teach adult men okay and uh… and certainly in tight is talk about teaching the children and teaching other women but again they’re not to usurp the authority of the men. The key verses is first Timothy to 12 where it says, I suffer not a woman to teach nor do you usurp authority over the man.
So when they become the church leader or an elder or deacon, then I think violate scripture. Okay, so what you’re saying is, but not men. That’s correct. Okay. All right, Dr. Heng, I thank you for playing that off. All right, you’re just welcome. And We have a lot of things today where people are just violating the scripture and doing their own thing. As you read through the Old Testament, God got mad at Israel when they did whatever was writing their own eyes and ignored his word and the same is happening today.
We have John down in Venice, Florida and John, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Earth. Oh, thank you. I had a question about what you were talking about this morning about Jonah. Yeah, I’ve seen in the fish for on Sunday. It could be three days But I’ll account two nights there Friday night and Saturday night As far as the crucifixion of Christ, I believe Christ was crucified on Wednesday Which was the preparation of the Passover which occurred on Thursday of the crucifixion week?
And so he’s placed in the grave Wednesday its sundown and then you go three days and it’ll be Thursday night sundown Friday night sundown and then Saturday night sundown and that’s when he rose I believe Christ rose at sundown 72 hours after he’s placed in the grave and If you count Jewish time from sundown to sundown Saturday sundown is really the beginning of Sunday night and Jesus then Rose right then at the beginning of the first day of the week But the discovery of the tomb being empty was not until the morning But if you keep Christ in the grave until Sunday morning then it’d be three days and four nights which would clearly violate what Christ said that he’d be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Okay, I thought Passover was on Saturday. No, the Passover was on Thursday of the Crucifixion Week, and so there were several Sabbaths there. In fact, in Matthew 21 it says, when the Sabbaths plural ended, then it came the first day of the week, and the women came early in the morning with spices to anoint the dead body. They didn’t even believe it would be a resurrection. They expected to find a dead body, but when they came they discovered the empty tomb, but the Christ had already been risen, I believe, by twelve hours.
I believe He was placed in the grave Wednesday at sundown. The Passover began Thursday at, or actually Wednesday night, but Thursday night is Wednesday night according to Jewish time. And then all of Thursday night, then Thursday, and then all of Friday night, and then Friday, and then Saturday night and then Saturday and then Saturday sundown that begins Sunday night. So right at the beginning of the first day of the week it’s Sunday night beginning or Saturday ending 60 m Christ Rose and then 12 hours later they discovered the two empty in the morning.
You have to think about it almost because we’re not used to that counting our days from sundown to sundown we count them from midnight to midnight. Right. Two on Saturday. I didn’t realize it was on Thursday. No, there was several Sabbath. Saturday was the regular Saturday Sabbath. But the Passover is considered a Sabbath also, even though every year it slides back and forth with the lunar calendar. But on the week of the crucifixion of Christ it fell on a Thursday.
It did this year too. Back in April this year, the Passover turned out to be on a Thursday of the week. Okay. Thank you for clarifying that for me. Okay, John. Thank you. All right. That was John and calling in from Venice, Florida and we have my buddy Harold there waiting and from Hollywood, Florida Harold welcome to Bibleline. I’m Shalom Shalom it’s very good to hear that magnetic voice coming across on Bibleline. Well, thank you Thank you. Good to hear your voice.
I’m glad that you’re still out there I’m still out there and I’m still getting my Bible lesson so I got a couple of things here. I’ll have to make them fast. Fast question, were you ever on the Pat Robinson show? No, they didn’t air it. I got an email from the head correspondent and apparently my presentation was too strong for them. He said because my view was so strong in a proposition to the Tony’s movement that senior editors said it would be too interruptive to the flow of their celebration down the azusa street incident where they claim that their modern-day times movement began so they never ran it did you say comes yes yet well the word in new york is double talk home word not not your british chitrol double talk about it however faster i could have that and won the money that would allow you on that
you know that absolutely it heard you mention the word salvation little while ago yes pointed at the house reading what a a uh… reverend said the word salvation let me quote what you said salvation is a process that takes place in our own consciousness, not through the person named Jesus. When we proceed on that path of spiritual enlightenment in the ways we are in heaven. I tell you, well she’s far far from at least with the Bible teachers because apparently she believes heaven is a state of mind and that salvation is something that occurs simply in your mind.
The Bible teaches, of course, a physical deliverance of your whole person, body, soul, and spirit, from a place called the Eternal Lake of Fire, the Eternal Hell, to live actually with the Lord in heaven forever and ever and ever. Yeah, well, that’s what you should. We have to it, and that’s where it’s strictly in the enlightenment and so forth. Okay, we took care of that. Can you look at, I’m not one that usually checks the Bible unless I speak with you and so forth.
a mica i believe that mica six eight all right i’m turning there right now and i’ll be there in a second hold on hold on on on a whole lot of the the belief is calling no i am i’m in chapter mica three to see your chapter six okay i’m got it okay six eight right he showed me home uh… he has showed me a little man what is good and what that the Lord require of thee, but to do justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with thy God.
Now, what about that? Well, it’s true. I mean, I really don’t see any, a snake and a little prectes or something where it says and to believe in Jesus as a say, you know what I’m speaking of. I know exactly what you’re saying, but you notice throughout here, like in verse 3, he says, oh my people, verse 5 again, oh my people, and he’s talking about once you become a child of God, which is obviously a wonderful book about the Messiah all the way through, that then you are a child of God and then while you’re here on the earth and God wants us to live a life that’s pleasing to him and that’s what it’s talking about here, but it’s not talking about salvation in verse 8, it’s talking about what is required of you to find God pleased with you, what would please the
Lord and what would bring about blessing or reward in your life. And basically he says here to do justly to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. And notice the last phrase even implies that you already know the Lord. This is walk humbly with thy God. A God obviously even braced and believed in and are saved. Okay, that takes care of that. Now I would like to throw a question out to all the believers. and putting myself, pushing on believer.
You often refer to when Jesus comes back, right? Yes, yes, sir. Tell me. How will I know that? And I want the believers that are calling in to answer this question. How will you know when Jesus is here? What’s the sign? If I’m voting one night, am I going to hear it on the TV? What is it? I’m going to say, oh, Jesus is here. And I’d like to have those believers answered to that too because they’re always calling.
quoting the Bible. So I, as a Jewish atheist, nonbeliever, I’d like to hear what they think. Okay, we’ll try to get some collars in and it’ll answer that question. But the next event in God’s program is the Rapture. So there’s going to be all these believers worldwide that will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air, according to 1 Thessalonians 4, 13, or 18. And so there’ll be a disappearance of millions of people. I think, obviously, going to cause catastrophes.
If you’re driving your car as a believer and the Lord shouts and the believers are caught up physically and the car is left without a driver, obviously there will be a crash and I think planes, cars, boats, ships, there will be all kinds of worldwide events that you can look to. And also on the news you say millions of disappeared will be the headlines apparently. And so that’s a pretty good indication that Christ has fulfill that part. Then seven years later, he comes back in all of his power and all of his glory.
It is seen by everybody on the earth. It says, you’ll light up the heavens and every eye will see him, including the Jewish people who will recognize him by the nail prints in his hands and in his feet that he was the one that was pierced when he came the first time. Zachariah 1210 tells us that when he comes, you’ll pour out the spirit of grace upon the house of Israel, and it says that they will look upon him whom they have pierced.
So they will look upon Jesus who comes back here. It is actually their God or Jehovah Yahweh, however we would properly pronounce his name, that had been pierced. Obviously that happened at the first coming, but Zachariah predicted that 500 years before the crucifixion and that he would then return again later and Israel would be restored. they sure need restoration right now they need a lot of help in the Messiah’s coming soon for Israel well pastor i’d like to hear the believers state when they feel jesus will be here what’s the proof but okay not not to imitate what you just said right let’s wait and see what they say and i appreciate you taking my call shalom and i am saying that i’m going over to send you a little uh…
i should say what is it a little donation because i hear a lot of it people saying thank you but they don’t ask for your address i do have your address and we got to keep you on the air and there’s no doubt my mind and that person vacation was when pat robinson didn’t want to hear the opposite view they don’t want you on the air that’s fact i know that is well thank you harle and uh… we’re uh…
excited about the fact that you’re still out there listening and contributing to our program with some good questions. Well, the fact of the matter is I’m not here. I take your show. Beautiful. I don’t know that. All right. Well, you take care. Show them. Take care of yourself. All right. Thank you. Thank you, Harold. That was Harold down in South Florida. Pray for Harold as we know he knows what the gospel is. But we just have to pray that he’ll trust Jesus as his Savior.
And then he’ll be one of those caught up when Jesus comes back. You won’t have to worry about what to look for because he wanted to read in the paper he’ll be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. We have Bryce in Tampa, Florida on the air. Bryce, welcome to Bibleline your on the air. Bryce, turn your radio off. Hi. Yes. Hi. I was just calling to ask you. So say you’re a Christian and you already believe in Christ.
Will you still go to heaven? Like if you don’t follow him, like through your lifestyle, if you live a bad life like if you run away from God. Absolutely, you’ll still go to heaven because he’ll never cast you out, John 637. He’ll never lose you. He’s keeping you safe in John 639. But you’ll lose out on blessings and rewards and God will discipline you. He’ll spank you like he would spank a father would spank his child. but you’ll still be safe no matter what.
Thank you for answering my question, Hank. You’re very welcome and thank you, Bryce, in Tampa, Florida. Once you’re saved, you’re stuck. I tell people you have to go to heaven, whether you like it or not. But you can’t lose your salvation, but you can lose your life. You can lose your reward. You can lose your joy, but you cannot lose your salvation. We have Loretta in the land, Florida, and Loretta, welcome to Bibleline your own here. Hi, Dr. Hank, I was just calling to ask you something.
I wondered how Satan has the power that he does and affects all of the populace. Well, he is the God of this world. I think God, that title, one guy that originally created the earth, he put plants, animals, dinosaurs on the earth and all of God’s angels, and Lucifer was made ruler over them all. And although he let a rebellion and caused this earth to come under judgment, he still retains the title that God of this world, 2 Corinthians 4-4, tells us that.
And it’s not until Jesus comes back at the Second Coming, that Satan is stripped of his power and cast into the heart of the earth until after the thousand year ending Christ when he’s actually cast into hell. But in Revelation 11-15 it says, when Jesus comes back, it says, the kingdoms of this world at that point are now become the kingdoms of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever and ever and ever. You may have heard that tune handles my sign.
But it’s a quote where Christ will come back and take over the kingdoms of this world, and Satan will be removed from power. He’ll no longer be the God of this world. Then Jesus will establish peace on earth good will toward men. So as long as Satan is still in charge of this world system, there is going to be nothing but terrible headlines every day when you read that paper. When Jesus comes back, can you imagine what the headlines will read like in the Millennial Kingdom when Christ is ruling and it will be peace everywhere and everything will be wonderful.
The earth will be delivered from the curse. I think he learned how he got his power. Well he was given that power as he was created as an angel. angels are very powerful beings. In fact if you read back in 1 Kings during the days of Hezekiah the king, one angel killed 185,000 Assyrian soldiers in one night. It was interesting, Hezekiah was really a man of faith and he prayed to the Lord for deliverance. He looked out and he saw these soldiers 185,000, you imagine his knees wanted to knock each other body he prayed to the lord and when he got up the next morning looked out they were all dead strewn everywhere hundred eighty five thousand dead soldiers that one angel killed if one angel can take out a hundred eighty five thousand you can tell their pretty powerful beings now i just couldn’t understand that
well we won’t will understand it better would we get to have an i’m sure but uh… there’s a lot of things that are beyond uh… what we know and understand but we will Understand it as a hymnal writer wrote understand it better by and by it Okay, thank you. You’re very welcome. Thank you Loretta. We now have Dr. Anonymous He’s not only anonymous, but he’s dr. Anonymous from Dade City and whoops I don’t see him on my board. So I Think we don’t have that call on here.
Maybe I’ll hang him up back and I don’t know. Call back and we’ll put Dr. Anonymous up on the air from Day City, Florida. We have a lot of all fair questions. We have one from Jesse in Tampa just called in a minute ago. Says, can you explain Revelation 22, 18, and 19? And this is a passage that talks about you are not to add to the Bible or to take away from the Bible, or there is a curse that comes upon you, which really turns out that you go to hell.
But it’s really in reference to lost people not accepting what God has offered in the way of salvation. In Revelation 22, 17, that’s the key verse. It says there that the Spirit and the bride say, come in, and those that are saved say, come in, whose several will let him come and take into the water of life. It’s God’s final invitation in the Bible that anybody that wants to can come and receive God’s salvation completely free. Verse 18 and 19 say, if you take away from this revelation concerning Christ and salvation being a free gift, or if you add to it, in other words, if you change it or alter it, then you cannot be saved because God only saves those who simply Trust in Jesus alone by faith alone and Christ alone to be safe.
So it’s a warning that your name will be taken out of the book. We believe unbelievers. Their names are there, but if they die as an unbeliever, having not accepted the invitation to simply come and trust Christ, their names will be stricken from the book and they’ll be cast into the everlasting lake of fire. So Jesse, I hope that answers the question. It really is not talking to a Christian 18 and 19 of Revelation 22, to talk to unsaved people as God invites them to be saved.
And he says, don’t change my plan of salvation. Don’t change what I have said about Jesus Christ. He is the Savior. And he alone can save you when you trust him as your only means of salvation, God saves you. We have run just about out of time here. And I know Dr. Anonymous has just called back, but we only have a few seconds. So we’re sorry that we’re going to have to hold off that call till Monday. I’m sorry, Dr.
