We’ll be having a big Turkey feast and we’ll also have of course a celebration of Thanksgiving here in the morning worship on the 19th. So come and see us. You know one of the most amazing things is that a lot of pastors and Bible teachers don’t rightly divide the word and they mix together salvation and they mix with that discipleship and you really cannot do that if you’re going to make sense out of the Bible.

I’ve just read an article here by someone but also I just heard somebody on the air that this mixes it all up and they’ll use verses that apply to discipleship and make them conditions I want to read a quote to you by Dr. M. R. Dahan, founder of the Radio Bible class. He was certainly a great mentor to me and I had the privilege of hearing him in person and meeting him but also listening to his radio program when I was a brand new believer.

And he says this, there is a vast difference between coming to Jesus for salvation and coming after Jesus for salvation. service. Coming to Christ makes one a believer, while coming after Christ makes one a disciple. All believers are not disciples. To become a believer one accepts the invitation of the gospel. To be a disciple one obeys the challenge to a life of dedicated service and separation. Salvation comes through the sacrifice of Christ. The discipleship comes only by sacrifice of self and surrender to his call for devoted service.

Salvation is free, but discipleship involves paying the price of a separated walk. Salvation cannot be lost because it depends upon God’s faithfulness, but discipleship can be lost because it depends upon our faithfulness. That’s the end of the quote. Dr. Ermardahan certainly, I believe, nailed it there. And you know you hear phrases, for example, for sake all, follow Christ. Those all have to do with the Christian life and have nothing to do with our salvation. And yet there are preachers who grabbed from those, in fact I just read a presentation that said if you just went to the words of Christ in the New Testament you would get what the true gospel is, and obviously because they don’t rightly divide, they don’t get the true gospel because they don’t separate between Christ inviting a person to become saved and Christ inviting a person to become a disciple.

I want to turn it over to Luke chapter 14 where in verse 26 we have a lesson here in rightly dividing the word of truth. It says in verse 26, If any man come to me, stop, there is a comma there, but that is all there is in this verse about salvation. We come to Christ, and that’s a key phrase about how to be saved. In Matthew 11, 28, Christ has come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Here it says, If any man come to me, that’s talking about salvation. The second half of the verse is dealing about discipleship. How do we know? Well, let me read it. It says, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters. Yay, his own life also. It says in the last phrase, he cannot, he cannot, he cannot, he cannot. It doesn’t say be saved. It says he cannot be my disciple. There’s a difference between being saved and and being a disciple, those are two separate decisions.

One is made when you trust Christ as Savior and you become saved. That’s coming to Christ. And then the second decision is when you come after Christ or follow Christ, and that makes you a disciple. Let me read on to the next verse. Luke 14 is where we are. Verse 27 says, and whosoever doth not bear his cross and come after, thus the key phrase, come after we come to Christ to be saved, but we come after Christ to be a disciple.

Who’s Swever does not bear his cross and come after me? Cannot be, cannot be, cannot be, does not say you can’t be saved. Says you cannot be my disciple. Then later down in verse 33 of this chapter 14 of Luke, Christ says, so likewise, who’s to be a disciple, you have to be willing to forsake all. You need to be willing to come after Christ. Take up Christ’s cross. You need to love the Lord greater than you love your family and your own life and unless you do, the Bible says you cannot, you cannot, you cannot be my disciple.

And you know, for me, it was kind of a mix-up when you would hear evangelists and they’ll get to their invitation and they’re going to say, I’m going to ask you to follow Christ tonight. to ask you. I’m going to ask you to forsake all and make Christ the Lord of your life. That’s not a salvation invitation. That’s an invitation for a safe person to become a disciple. Unless you meet those conditions, you can’t be a disciple, but that’s not the plan of salvation.

That is not the gospel. That is not the message by which we’re saved. The gospel is the message of the death and the burial and the resurrection of Christ. When you believe Christ died and she died, and she died. shed his blood, and paid for your sins and full of the cross, and then was buried and rose again from the dead when you trust him as Savior, God saves you. I did that when I was eighteen years of age.

That was the best decision I ever made in my life. But I told God that night I would take him up on his free gift of salvation, but I would never serve him. And you know, for the next year I knew I was saved. I went off to a secular university, the University of Florida, where I entered the engineering program and went on to graduate in electrical engineering. I never thought I’d ever be doing what I’m doing today. And you know, about a year after I had gotten saved, the Lord brought me to my knees in my dorm room and I dedicated my life and I said, Lord, I will follow you.

I will come after you. I’ll forsake all. Whatever you want me to do, I’m willing to do it. And I became a disciple of Christ. Totally a separate decision. Salvation is a free gift. What you get is the forgiveness of your sin, the gift of eternal life. The Holy Spirit comes and involves you forever. And on and on and on there are dozens of consequences for trusting Christ as your Savior. You know, the second decision brings about rewards in heaven and blessings and joy and happiness and fulfillment in your life.

And it’s the only way to discover God’s will in your life. And so as a believer, we all ought to become disciples. But to tell a lost person that they must meet the conditions of discipleship to be saved is works for salvation and obviously a false message and you won’t be saved. Isn’t that amazing? Christ says here in Luke 14, he says, whose whoever does not bear his cross and come after me cannot be, cannot be, cannot be. He says, cannot be my disciple.

You can’t be a disciple. You save when you trust Christ. And in verse 26, he talks to those that are saved as the first phrase is talking about salvation. If any man come to me, stop right there. That’s salvation. And then he proceeds to those who have come to him, receive that forgiveness of sin, receive the new birth, receive the gift of eternal life. Then he appeals to them and says, and hate not his father. By the way, that’s a comparative term.

And it means in contrast to your love for the Lord, your love for family and others would be hatred in contrast. But if it says here, if you don’t hate your father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, your own life also, you cannot be. You cannot be. You cannot be. Read carefully. It says you cannot be my disciple. Verse 33 says, so likewise, who’s whoever he be of you? For sake of thought, all that he hath, he cannot be.

He cannot be. He cannot be my disciple. But how many times have you heard a preacher or an evangelist at imitation time saying, I’m going to ask you tonight or this morning to follow Christ, take of His cross, forsake all, and so on and so on. That’s works. That is the conditions for discipleship, not the conditions for salvation. And so therefore they’re misleading people. And if that’s what you’re trusting in to get you to heaven, you’ll not make heaven.

There’s a whole denomination that calls themselves the disciples of Christ. And they are relying upon the fact that they are so-called Christ Disciples to get them to heaven. And they won’t go to heaven. Because in order to be saved, you trust Christ as your Savior, then to be a disciple, you trust Christ to be the Lord over your life, and you are willing to forsake all and follow Him and take up His cross and proclaim Christ throughout your Christian life.

Salvation is a gift. Discipleship cost a price. And if you are a believer, you ought to become a disciple. But remember, Judas was a disciple, but he was never a believer. And Judas went to hell. He is a disciple and you have to trust Christ in order to be saved. And Adinida And we’ll be all throughout the week, Monday through Friday. I hope you’ll be listening and passing the word along your friend. You know on the internet now we have a place where you can write in your question if you want to leave it as an offer.

But of course we love to have the live callers but we wanted to make it. It’s easy if you couldn’t stay on the air to leave an off-air question so that you don’t type the phone lines. Sometimes it gets hectic when everybody’s calling in with an off-air and on-air question here on Bibleline. Our phone number here at Bibleline Headquarters is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-576-3771. We have Bill in Valrico, Florida calling in and Bill, welcome to Bibleline. Oh, Bill, hi Bill. Hey, how’s it going?

How’s it going today? GoodATURES. Okay, I can’t hardly hear you. It might be my phone or whatever. But I did what I’m going to ask you this question and since I can hardly hear you, what I’ll do is I’ll have to run the air. The question I have is this. Okay. In Genesis chapter 1, everything was created and then man. Adam’s name is never man. In Genesis chapter 1, now in chapter 2, it’s like. Man was created. and then the animals were created.

And then in Chapter 2 is when Adam’s name is starting to be mentioned. And then it was… Could that, could Chapter 1 be that pre-adamic race you’ve been talking about? And what I’m going to do is I’m going to hang up so I can hear you on the phone. I can hardly hear you on the phone. Thank you Bill. Actually, chapter two is somewhat of a summary. This time focusing in on man specifically as being the head of the new creation as God put man above and over the animals and over all the things on the earth.

But chapter one gives us a summary of day by day what happened in the re-creative week, but the original creation in Genesis one is only stated in verse one. And then the judgment of that original creation occurs in verse 2. And then we have God then preparing the earth for the recreated week by the Spirit of God moving upon the face of the waters at the end of verse 2, which that word moved means in the Hebrew to brood or to incubate.

It was actually like a hen sitting on the nest to hatch out those eggs. apparently warmed up the earth and made preparation so that in those seven days this time man would be put as the head of the creation as prior to that angels were here as head over the original creation and so many verses addressed that throughout the Bible it seems to be quite clear. So I hope that helps a little bit but chapter two goes back and resummarizes the creative story, but this time focusing in on the crowning work of God’s creation.

Man that he created out of the dust of the ground in chapter 2 verse 7 is where it says that the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and fashioned a man and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. A man became a living soul. In 1 Corinthians 15 it tells us it’s an ever living soul. In other words, once you come into existence, you are a soul forever and ever. If you trust Christ during your lifetime, you’ll live forever with the Lord.

But if you die without Christ, you’ll be forever separated from the Lord in hell, but your soul will never die. In Matthew 1028, Christ says, fear not those which can destroy the body but cannot kill the soul. lives on and the worst I guess you might say that could happen to you and me as a as a Christian is for somebody to kill us but yet it’s really the best thing because once we are killed they only kill the body they can’t kill our soul and so we’re saved forever and ever and ever.

You know Wycliffe was a great He contributed to us getting the English Bible and he was so hated by the Roman Catholic Church for getting the Bible into English. It was the forerunner of the 1611 translation a couple hundred years earlier that after his death… They couldn’t kill his body because he already died, but they dug up his body and burn it and they cast his ashes in the Thames River there in London. And of course interestingly they were trying to get revenge on him for putting the Bible into the hands of people, you know, because that’s the power.

And that’s what Bibleline tries to do. We want to get the Bible into your hands. We want you to open it up and feel confident that you can read it and understand it and teach you the principles of it. principles of interpreting and rightly dividing the word as we did even this morning. And you know what was interesting is that the Thames River of course carried these ashes of Wycliffe out to the world just as his work of translating the Bible into English was carried out to the nations of the world as well.

Interesting story, but people can kill your body and then burn your ashes and or burn your body and take the ashes and do whatever with them, but they can’t kill your soul. Dear Wycliffe is safe in sound in heaven with the Lord. What a wonderful believer he was. We’re going to Walter down in Bradenton, Florida and Walter welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Walter, do you? You’re on the air. I’m on the air. You’re on the air.

Question is, I guess the last question you had on the radio, but what I’m trying to understand is that, the whole is the true word of God. Where do you find that there was a creation before the creation if it says in the beginning? Well, there’s no creation before the creation, but the creation of the earth took place in Genesis 1-1 in the beginning. in the dateless countless paths somewhere where God created the heavens and the earth. And according to Isaiah 45, 18 he created it perfect and inhabited.

In fact, he uses the phrase, he says he created it not in vain, the word vain being the very same word in the Hebrew translated void in Genesis 1, 2. So he didn’t create it the way we discovered in verse 2. That was the result of a judgment. But the seven days were a recreative week. He didn’t create the Sun and the Moon and the Stars again. What he did in that seven days is now bring forth conditions so life could exist again and recreated animals, but he created man as the one who would be head over the planet.

So there is only one creation of the universe, but a recreative week where Adam is now placed as the one who lives on the Earth. You know the Earth was flooded in Genesis 1-2. It says darkness is upon the face of the deep. If the sun’s light were cut off from our planet for as little as 72 hours, scientists tell us that our planet would be frozen. Right now, the sun is bathing our Earth 24 hours a day. Part of the day, we’re in darkness, part of the day in light, but the planet is rotating on its axes and it’s being bathed in sunlight and that heat keeps us from being frozen.

If you took away the sun’s light, the planet would be frozen. perhaps explains the ice ages and there was a tremendous cataclysmic judgment that occurred apparently in verse 2 of Genesis the result of Satan’s attempted invasion toward heaven and God destroyed all life. And then in the seven days he brings life back here on the planet and man as the crowning achievement of his creation. So there are numerous verses. Do you have a Schofield Bible? If you do, you can read the notes there that will guide you, but you can see in Isaiah 14, Satan’s plan was to leave Earth, take a group of angels with him and overthrow heaven.

We see in Jeremiah 4, Jeremiah was caught back in time travel and he says, and lo, I be held and the earth was without form and void. And Jeremiah sees the earth before man was ever here destroyed and you’ll notice it says there that the life on the planet was destroyed or killed by the very presence of God himself and his fierce anger. That’s what happened in Genesis 1 2. And we have the same phrase there as a quote in Jeremiah 4 where it says, I beheld and loathe the earth was without form and void.

Exactly like you see it in Genesis 1 2 was the result it says in Jeremiah 4 of the very presence of God and his fierce anger. When did that happen? That had to be Obviously prior to Adam and Eve and there are many other verses you can get some of my articles if you go to the internet and go to Bible Go to Bible I ministries dot award you dot com click on dr Lindstrom’s articles and look at about three or four articles that I have there about the earth its age and and the the present earth being one that came after the the former earth that was inhabited by plants and animals and angels and then there’s a new heavens and new earth coming.

Hope that helps a little bit, Walter. And thank you for calling in today. We have Anna in Plant City, Florida, and Anna, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Hello. Hi, Anna. You’re on the air. Yes. In 1 Samuel, chapter 15, verse 23, it says, for rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. I’ve always heard, you know, like, oh, I’m a stubborn person. And I wouldn’t want to know. do anything to us and the Lord.

Could you explain further how this could work against you as a Christian and I’m going to hang up so I can listen to you? Okay. We have just a few seconds left before the break but basically if you are stubborn to disobey the Lord. Now God had told Saul specific things that he was to do and he was stubborn and refused to do what God commanded him to do and that is obviously just like the sin of witchcraft. It is going on the devil’s side and doing what the devil would ask you to do and not what the Lord says to do.

So it means that to be resolved, obviously the Bible tells us that we should set our faces a flint. That means that we are steadfast. In the New Testament it says be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord. So definitely we are to be stubborn in the sense that we are serving the Lord. to be stubborn and say, Lord, I refuse to do what you’ve asked me to do, is like the sin of witchcraft. I hope that helps, and we’ve got to go to break, and we’ll come back and do a second half of Bible, and so don’t go away.

Keep your radio dial tuned right where it is, and we’ll be right back. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr. Englund. It’s great to be with you today on this Monday. Thanks for tuning in. We appreciate all of our listeners. I want you to know that you can leave an off-air question either by calling in anytime during business hours or on the internet. Now we have a place on our radio page for you to type in just your first name and your city and the question you have.

And we’ll try to answer that on the air. And when you You listen to the program, you’ll be able to hear your answer as we give it over the year. And God bless all of you. We sure appreciate all of our listeners. We get some wonderful notes, wonderful comments from people that listen and we appreciate all of you and thank all of you who give the Bible on. Did you know that we really don’t have any pledges? We don’t have any subscribers.

We don’t have any piggy bank. We don’t have a reserve account. We just are trusting God. And we really could use your prayers and also your financial help. Without your help, we could not be on the air. This program could not continue. And we would hate to ever have to drop an area. And to assure that you’re continuing to hear the program, we need to have your help. If you could give a gift and no gift is too small, one lady last month said, I’m going to give a dollar today to Bibleline and she gave me a check for the 31 days in October for Bibleline in that suite.

If you could just give 50 cents a day and if every listener would give a little bit, we would be able to more than easily take care of our needs and also expand even further with Bibleline. And a lot of people tell me they’ve learned more in 30 days of listening to this program than they have in 30 years in their church. I hear it all the time. People tell me, wow, I have learned so much. And if you have been blessed by Bibleline, would you consider being a partner with us and helping us to continue what blessed you as we brought this program your way?

We need your help to do that. And this would be a great time to help us out as we could be really helped by your gift at this time. So you can do that by mail, you can send a gift in, or you can call our 800 number and give a gift by credit card, or you can ask our operators for us to send you an envelope with our address already printed on it. You can also go to the internet and go to our online bookstore and there’s a place for you to give to Bibleline as well.

But we sure do thank God for all of you and we look forward to being with you each and every day. We obviously are not trying to get your money. There are no salaries paid to anyone, myself included, from Bible and… We really try to use all of our funds to keep this program going. We’re ready to do Bibleline Part 2. So hold on to your hats and if you don’t have it on your radio, get on the internet and you’ll get signed Part 2.

Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. All right, we’re beyond that break and we’re so glad to be able to be with you today and thank you for tuning in. You’re coming to you live here from Bibleline Studios here at the Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida where I pastor and we would love to have you join us every day and you’re welcome to invite all of your friends to join us here as we come to live Monday through Friday and we hope you’ll continue to listen and enjoy and be blessed by the program.

Again, we are listeners supported and without your help, we may not be able to continue the program coming your way. It’s really a matter of our listeners partnering with us to be able to carry this out. There’s no salaries paid here to anybody, myself included. We donate everything back into this ministry to pay the air time, the satellite time, the Special phone lines we have the long distance phone calls from our callers every 800 call cost us money and we’re talking about hundreds of dollars in just phone bills much less radio time in our television ministry also.

And so pray for us and if you could give a gift you could do it by sending it by mail or you can send it by way of calling in and giving it over the phone by credit card. And also on our Internet site, on our online bookstore at BibleLineMinistries.org, you can give a gift to Bibleline there. We have an anonymous caller from Pensacola, Florida, and the person just called in and says he needs our help. He says he is very disturbed because of the church that this person once remained anonymous from, they have gone now purpose driven.

This person said the pastor used to give the gospel and no longer does. Is it necessary? He says for a pastor to give the gospel, is it his responsibility and is it okay to be purpose driven? Well, you know, the Bible says it is the responsibility not only of your pastor, but every believer. The great commission that every pastor is given is to go into all the world and preach what? The gospel. Mark 16-15. But if you want to see an interesting verse, it’s in 1 Corinthians 9 where we see the scripture says, for though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of for necessity is laid upon me.

In other words, it’s our responsibility. is our necessary responsibility that God has given to us so that we can’t really glory and say that we’re doing something unusual, or spectacular, or out of the ordinary. Everybody should be giving it. Now notice the last of 1 Corinthians 9, 16. It says, yay, or yes. And then it says, woah. And woah here is w-o-e, which means judgment. Judgment is unto me if I preach not the gospel. So here the Bible says if you don’t give the Gospel, you’re going to be judged for that and a pastor who doesn’t give the Gospel is definitely going to be judged for that because if he’s read his Bible at all, he knows he’s commanded by Christ.

Go into all the world and preach what? Preach brotherly love? No. Preach peace among the people? No. He’s to preach the Gospel. And that’s our mandate from Christ himself. So I feel badly for you. A lot of churches have just shifted gears today, I think because of wanting to get more people and they have not the goal of reaching the world of the gospel, but getting more people into their building and becoming bigger or larger. You know, bigger or larger is not necessarily the best thing.

In the fact, sometimes God blesses those things which are smaller. And you know, in the days of Noah, there were only eight people who believed in the impending flood. Only eight people were saved. All the rest did not believe the Word of God and were lost and drowned in the flood. Mr. Anonymous will be praying for you, but I am sad to hear these stories as we hear many churches have gone a totally different direction that purpose-driven movement has taken them on a different curve and with their music and with their whole style of everything.

We’re going to go to Maryland down in Bradenton, Florida, and Maryland. Welcome to Bibleline. Are you there, Maryland? Yeah. All right. You’re on the air. Okay. Um, I have a question about the status of a pastor, particularly versus the husband of one wife. Could you comment on this? Well, you know, I think it’s saying that once you get married, you’d be married all your life. The pastor is a role model for families and for children, and if they are divorced, then Everybody in the congregation says, well, I guess I can get divorce too.

The pastor is. And so I think it’s a position that obviously requires the pastor to stay with his marriage. But today, some are trying to reinterpret that passage to say one at a time, yeah, I get divorced, I get remarried, and then I get divorced, I get remarried. And I think divorce people have great opportunities to serve and can be used in many, many ways powerfully by God. But there is that passage and I believe that it’s not talking about one at a time.

I think it’s talking about one. And thank you, Marilyn. I hope that helps a little bit. And Marilyn has already hung up to listen, I guess, on the radio. We have Darlene in Oldsmar, Florida and Darlene. Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes, hello Pastor Lundstrom. I have a couple questions I wanted to ask you. The first one was you said something about one day about piercing and I wanted that scripture reference and also that includes pierced ears I guess, right?

Well, it really does and of course if you’ve already been pierced to your peers but I always like to point this out so that young people or parents of children that have not yet been pierced that they wouldn’t do it. We got a lot of body piercing today where they pierce you know everything their eyebrows and their nose and I saw a young lady the other day and she must have had about eight earrings around the edge of her ear and and I said to her are you gonna add any more she said no that she reached her limit I don’t think she had any more space somehow I just never related my little one pierce it to all of it so anyway but what was the Leviticus Leviticus 1928 We’re not to print marks on our body which will be tattoos and we’re not to do any cuttings

in our body. So it’s amazing. I think to me it’s like graffiti on a building or a wall. Obviously if somebody came over and just rode on your house you’d be terribly offended and you’d have to repaint your home. And God is saying this body I created it and if you get saved obviously it becomes his home. He dwells in our body and he doesn’t want us to write their feet all over his temple, his body. What about cosmetic surgery?

I don’t think so. And some people need to have some surgery. Sometimes you need to have some things removed. I know some people have moles or other growths and I think that’s perfectly fine to have those removed and probably better for your health to have them taken out. And then so my other question was now, in the Old Testament, you know, there’s many, many rules that we say we don’t follow because we’re under grace, you know. But so why then do we, a lot of things like that, you know, I hear many, many sermons that you’ll tell.

Well, you know, what’s going on there is that we’re not obligated legally or we’re not under law to observe them. But I think the principles are all there that never really have changed. You know, in the Old Testament they gave a time, we still are to give today, but we’re not under the law to say, thou shalt give 10%. I like Charles Reire, he says, you might want to give 10 and a half percent. Yeah. But basically we’re not legally obligated, we’re in the Old Testament, you were required under the law to do it.

And if you violated the law, the penalty was death in many instances if you didn’t keep it. And so we’re not under that threat of the law. So the guards’ ways are still death-ways. Yeah, of course. You know, he created this and… So, There’s some good advice in the Old Testament for all of us about what we should eat and not eat and how should we just our health and hygiene? You know, we’ve got a book here on our Resource Center that I love.

It’s over a million copies have been sold, not by us, but by a medical doctor called none of these diseases. That title comes right out of Exodus where God said, if you’ll listen to my advice, I will put upon you none of the diseases you had done in Egypt. And it talks just there, for example, things that have been discovered today, how that they were to wash in running water. And doctors have found that out. You know, when a doctor prepares for surgery, their hands never touch a faucet.

They have either foot controls or knee controls where they turn the water on and off. And if they put a stopper in the bottom of the sink and wash their hands, the germs will still be on their hands. if they use running water, it washes away those terms as they cleanse their hands and prepare for surgery. And that amazing principle back in Leviticus 15 is predates modern medical science by 3000 years. It’s incredible. And this book just really just thrilled my soul because it showed the practical applications of what the Bible taught in the way of just hygiene.

If a person had a contagious disease, they were to burn all the curtains, the linens, and everything else, and to get rid of that infection in the house because it would infect others and so on. And sometimes they had to quarantine people that had an infectious disease until they got over it. And we know all of that today in modern medicine that you can pass diseases, coals, and flus from one person to another. I think I’ll go online and get that book.

You’ll love it. It’s called none of these diseases and it’s Marvelous it really just will throw you about how we have an incredible book here that God had to be the one who wrote it That’s right. Thank you. You’re blessing Brother you take care now Bye-bye and that was darlene in Oldsmar, Florida and We are going to go now to to Curtis and Curtis is in St. Petersburg and Curtis. That’s right. I’m kidding. Well, I think somebody’s radio is still up, but Curtis, you’re on the air.

Curtis, are you there? Yes. All right, you’re on the air. I had to jump back into the car to find and listen to you doing a couple things here in St. Pete. Anyway, I had a time probably an involved question. I think, in the science that he didn’t come to abolish any of the laws, he came to fulfill them but as you’re explaining discernment our creators is key and it’s not just great. It would not. And what Christ was saying there in Matthew 5 17 where I’m not coming to destroy the law, that is the term that refers to all of God’s word and he didn’t come to a boss but to fulfill it.

He was the only righteous person who has ever walked the surf that never committed a single life of sin and what the law demanded could not be fulfilled by man were all sinners born of the sin nature, but Christ did fulfill the law in that he never committed a single act of sin. It was his righteousness that we needed to have to be saved. When we trust him, his substitutionary death took care of our sin as he took our sins upon himself and paid for them.

His very righteousness is credited to the account of the believer, which is wonderful. But certainly we’re not under the law today, but the phrase that you’re referring to there is a reference sometimes referring just to the first five books of the Bible, but in many cases it refers to the entirety of God’s Word. Right. Of course not. No. We never have that. Right. My question was one of the lines of a pretty broad, you know, over the last few years of being born again and one thing leading to another learning, learning and forever learning and growing is the, you know, kind of has to do with the Council of Nicaea and a lot of the changes that were made.

I learned about that pretty quickly when I was first became a Christian, but then, um, Hold the button. The Bible didn’t get changed and that’s the important thing. That’s when Christianity got married to paganism as Constantine declared the world to be Christian in those days. And so a lot of practices and customs from paganism all of a sudden got Christian names. But Constantine asked for copies of the scripture, Diocletian, the terrible ruthless dictator from Rome prior to that thought he had eradicated Christianity by destroying all copies of the scriptures but all of a sudden fifteen…

Rather, 50 pressing copies of the Bible came forward and the council there declared that the 66 books that we have, the 39 of the Old Testament and the 27 of the new, were indeed the very word of God. And so the word of God didn’t get changed or altered, but definitely we got married to paganism and a lot of pagan practices and customs got wet and appreciated at that time. We need to go to the Bible to be able to flush those out.

of our modern practices today. Amen, amen, exactly. One that I try not to, that it’s not a really huge thing, I think people in children I work with and what not, it’s not an abracadabra hocus focus thing anyway. It’s as James states we see our faith by what we do, it’s not work, it’s not faith, it’s the whole thing. here. it’s your life. And being his. But anyway, the question is about the name Jesus. I mean, I’m telling a little…

No, not a… I mean a big scholar or anything, I’m just a simple guy. The fine is that that’s a Greek name that really has nothing to do with Yah, Hushua or Yah, Hushua, Yah, Hushua, Yah, anything like that which was actually his name in Hebrew. But there’s a lot of, you know, I’ve just been to have been through seminary. Pimminary and whatnot a couple of them couple of just ordinary men like myself who would just say I mean You’re going you’re just a little bit nuts or you going all the people who cares and well I do care, but I don’t like it But I don’t.

Like I said, it’s not a hook as pug as thing. You can’t just stand there and go, you know, I’m a she-ock. You know, it’s not, it’s not that. It’s the power of God working in your life 24 seven of that. I mean, I, whether it’s true or not because Jesus seems to be. I was pretty clear. Let me just give you Matthew one twenty one. Here the angel of the Lord told Joseph when he discovered his wife Mary was pregnant He knew he wasn’t the father it says she shall bring forth a son and thou shall call his name Jesus that’s the English for you shua and then it defines what that word means it says for or because He shall save his people from their sins you see the contraction of the two words Yahweh and then Yasha which means salvation means God would save you.

And so here even Matthew tells us he would be called Jesus because that’s what his name means. It means God would save you. That’s what content, you know, the SUS or the US is all Greek way long before Messiah came as a man. It doesn’t really have any origins that mean YAH, which is YAH way. Is the Greek and then the English equivalent of Yeshua. Yeshua occurs over 130 times in the Old Testament and Yeshua in English is Jesus.

That’s it. It’s the equivalent word. And so if you’re looking for roots to go back through English or through Greek, you’re not going to find it. It is the Hebrew equivalent and I think that’s what Matthew 1 is telling us that he would be called Yeshua which in your English Bible here is translated Jesus and the reason why is because that’s what his name means. It means he would save his people from their sins. Now just one quick other question since I got you, I’ve got, I can talk to you here because you know a lot of what I would like to hear about.

with Pagan. What about the celebration of the birth of the sun on December 25th by the Egyptians years ago? Not only the Egyptians, everybody was done. This is the birthday of Baal on December 25th. Exactly. But you know, I don’t celebrate Baal and what I recommend people to do is take advantage and proclaim that Christ was born, not necessarily on December 25th, which I would disagree with, but he was born and he is God who came and took on human flesh.

And it’s an opportunity and a platform for all of us as Christians to yell loud and clear, like the hymn writer wrote, go tell it on the mountain that Jesus Christ is born. And that’s the good news. And I think we ought to tell people about that. And the real gift of Christmas is not under the tree, but it’s the one that was nailed to the tree, Christ himself. trust him God saves you and gives you the gift of eternal life.

So I would not worry about all that. You’re not worshipping Baal. Hopefully you’re proclaiming Christ. Then if you do, then you’re right on target. What about the prophecies in the Old Testament that talk about that tree bringing in a tree as an idol, a dead tree with white? You’re absolutely right. In Jeremiah 10 it talks about that. But if you have to have a tree, which I don’t like the tree at all personally, But if you have to have a tree, some people just can’t break that tradition.

Then I would use the tree to tell the story of Christ. You know Christ was nailed to a tree. And the Bible says that in several New Testament passages and talk about, and actually you can tell the whole story of the gospel with two trees. The tree in the garden, the tree of the knowledge of the evil brought death and sin into the world. And Christ nailed to the tree of Calvary, brought about life and God’s righteousness being imputed to the believers account so i mean i started off with your children saying this tree uh…

will tell the whole story of god’s plan here in the garden then took of the tree of the knowledge of the evil became sinners and then god decided through a tree to provide life and it was the tree of calvary that brought eternal life to all those that would believe that christ was crucified on that tree so what i’m here is that they’ve kind of deceived people with of taking the pagan years i think we have a couple of the bible is just running it straight back to god it’s just like today you know seitan wants to be stolen the rainbow today you know that symbol now you know what that means that i have and that’s irritating anything so i’m not going to get rid of my uh…

rainbow because of uh… people want to turning it into a and obscene uh… symbol uh… but it’s a it’s a precious symbol of god’s faithfulness to his promises and and uh… and the devil is out there to rob us of all of the wonderful things that God has said and I’m not going to let him do it. I’m going to say this is what it really means and if you really are a believer then you would not be great.

That’s like burning the flag or stomping on the flag. It’s a degradation of the wonderful truths that God has given us in his word. I don’t like people trampling on the rainbow. Any more than I can trampling on the flag of the United States. Hey man, can you give me your website once again? It’s BibleLineMinistries.org or .com Bibleline Ministries. My Bibleline Ministries. Great. Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you Curtis. Curtis is calling in from St. Petersburg, Florida and some good questions there. We have Tom in Trinity, Florida. Tom, welcome to Bibleline You On The Air. Yeah, thanks for sticking my call, Dr. Lynch. I just have a quick question for you. You always help me aid family members and friends in the right direction. This past weekend my brother-in-law and I had spoken in regards to some of the inconsistencies and some of the Bibles and I was bringing to the attention, you know, like Acts 8, verse 37.

Exactly. But he had also brought to my attention some of his beliefs that I think he may be. He said that originally when Christ was sacrificed on the cross that there are beliefs that He may have been drug to slow His heart down and to make it look like He had passed and that when He was put on the cross His feet were propped up on the cross which in some cases was not a case of death. In some cases you can see that on Cross’s where he would not have been asphyxiated by his own weight.

And then afterwards he was brought to have a family and a life and he lived on and had a great life. He was not… He’s not actually crucified, which that’s basically the whole verse in Acts 8 verse 37 is our salvation is based on that that event happening the way we see it in our Bible. Right. right you have to tell the disagree about what you buy but by end of that a lot of it came from a book a number of years ago that was written called the Passover plot and they tried to uh…

let you think that that somehow he swooned or he fainted or he passed out and they thought he was dead but there was no doubt uh… that he was dead from the new testament record the spirit is chest would have you know concluded that because all his body foods poured out upon the ground you cannot survive that and then there you go and then of course his body laying in a cold damp The cave there, which is really what the tomb was, he couldn’t survive without medical attention.

He had five deadly wounds. And you imagine the infection and other things that would sit in. He would not be bouncing around three days later as he was. Christ was everywhere showing himself alive. And obviously the disciples were convinced so much so that they were willing to die for it. Whereas Peter denied the word three times he was scared to death prior to the crucifixion as he saw Christ going to the cross there. But after the resurrection, Peter was saying, hey, you can kill me, but you can’t kill my soul.

I’m going to heaven and he proclaimed loud and clear the fact that Christ had risen from the dead. So these are just set the statements throughout that book, which obviously when I ever see that, it’s basically Satan’s word. But what can I do to steer loved ones and friends that come with me or come to me with that again? Is there a biblical verse that I can kind of hammer into them and say, this is really what you might want to focus on?

I focus on it. Yeah, a ton of them. And Peter’s message of Pentecost was extremely powerful one about the resurrection. He says, therefore in verse 36, let all the house of Israel know assuredly that this the same Jesus which you have crucified, God hath made both Lord and Christ. He is the Messiah and while he was speaking to the leaders of Israel. We got to run. Thanks for calling and keep looking up. Jesus is coming.
