As Christians, we celebrate the RESURRECTION of Jesus Christ from the dead. We should use the ‘R’ word as in Resurrection. Certainly, we do not celebrate Easter (the mother of Baal), but we do celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus from the dead. Easter does not occur in the Bible at all. There is one appearance of the word ‘Easter’ in Acts 12:4 in the King James Bible, but it is a mis-translation and should be translated ‘Passover’.

We sure hope that you’ll take advantage of that and other things that are on our website, including our online bookstore and all the other things that are available.
We’re gonna take a look at the Bible and then we’re gonna take our questions. We have a number of all fair questions again. We’re going to try to take a look at what the Bible has to say. And we’ll then go to your questions. By the way, yesterday was Ash Wednesday. And there’s a big article in the paper today in the Tampa Tribune about the whole thing of Ash Wednesday and so on. And guess what? There is no Ash Wednesday in your Bible.
That’s right. Did you know that there is no such thing as Lent in your Bible? And if I take my Bible and shake it upside down, Lent might fall out, L-I-N-T, but there is no L-E-N-T, no Lent in anybody’s Bible. It’s just not there. It is amazing how many things are practiced in Christianity that are really not biblical. Lent is pagan, it goes all the way back to Genesis chapter 10, believe it or not, and has to do with Baal worship and has to do with Easter.
Easter by the way is the name of the mother of Baal and obviously we don’t certainly want to worship her. But apparently for those that practice Lent, they say it’s Ash Wednesday is a day of penance. Did you know what penance means? Penance means a payment for sin. And the only way you can pay for sin according to the Bible is to go to hell. So if you want to pay for sins, if you want to do penance you have to go to hell.
The Bible says in Romans 623. The wages of sin singular is death. It doesn’t say that it can be paid for by baptism or church membership or by abstaining from things or by prayers or by tears or by fasting. The only way sin can be paid for is by death. The wages of sin is death which is only physical death, but it includes the second death where you’re cast into the eternal lake of fire and separated God from God forever and ever and ever.
I don’t want that to happen, but it’s absolutely non-scriptural all the way down the line to try to say that somebody has to do penance is counter-to-scripture because if you define it correctly according to the Bible, the penance would be hell. So if you want to do penance, you can go to hell if you want, but nobody has to go to hell because Jesus paid the full payment for our sins at the cross. Anyway, Lent was really associated with Baal.
Supposedly, Baal was gored by a boar in a hunting accident. His life hung in the balance in one story. The other story says he died. And for 40 days, people fasted and prayed to all the heathen gods. And at the end of the 40 days, Baal comes back from the dead. It’s the counterfeit of the death, the barrel, the resurrection of Christ, and is certainly not to be observed because it is something that makes God angry. You know when you read the book of Judges in the Old Testament, the Jewish people, after they came into the Promised Land, forsook the God of Israel and began to worship Baal.
It says in verse 13 of Judges chapter 2, and they forsook the Lord, and they serve Baal and a star off now as drop is his mother and if you just drop off the three last letters it’s ash tar a s h t r the english form is east are and of course we say eastern and that is the mother of bail when people tell me they’re going to celebrate easter i say why would you want to do that she’s a fertility goddess she’s a sex goddess and that’s why you have the bunny rabbits and the Easter eggs, they have to do with sex infertility and rapid reproduction, has nothing to do with Christ.
That’s right. It has nothing to do with Christ. What I recommend is everybody get rid of the E word and start using the R word. We’re coming up on the day that I call Resurrection Sunday. When people tell me they’re celebrating Easter, I say, why do you want to celebrate her? That’s the mother of Baal and it’s forbidden in the Bible. We’re certainly not to do that. And so I use the R word. It’s a very easy substitute. You say, well, what about the candy you might give to the children?
We call it resurrection candy. What about the special dresses that women might wear on that day? Well we call it resurrection dresses. And we just make the real easy switch. And it’s powerful. It’s quite a witness for us as Christians to be able to say that we are celebrating not a sex goddess, not a goddess of fertility, but we’re celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ again from the dead. Would you help join me in getting rid of the E word?
I try not to ever say it if I could do it. And it’s sometimes hard because everybody so identifies with that pagan name, the mother of Baal. But let me just read it to you again. Judges 2.13 says, they forsook the Lord and they serve Baal and his mother Easter or Astroth. And the short form is Astr the English form is Easter. And look at verse 14 of Judges chapter 2, if you have your Bible open, it says, and the anger of the Lord was hot, H-O-T against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of the spoilers that spoiled them, and he sold them into the hands of their enemies round about so that they could not any longer, any more, stand before their enemies.
God got angry. Do you think God has mellowed out since then that he doesn’t really care anymore? I don’t think so. I don’t think God changes. In fact, I know the Bible says he doesn’t change. God is the same yesterday, today and forever, and he doesn’t change his mind. God is just as upset today when people are into bail worship, and many times they don’t even realize that they’re doing it. But obviously Lent is that 40-day period. And then at the end of the 40 days Easter celebrates the resurrection of her son, Bail.
That’s right. So at the end of the 40 days when people celebrate Easter, they’re really celebrating the resurrection of Bail from the dead. And you know how they did that? And you can see it in the Old Testament. They would get up early on the morning after the 40 days of Lent and they would watch for the sun to rise in the east. You see, Baal was the SU-N God, not the son SON of God, but the SU-N. The sun god and so they watch for the sun to rise.
That is the origin by the way of the sunrise services. It really was to get up early before the sun rose and to watch for the sun to come up and that was the way they celebrated with Easter the resurrection of her son bail bail comes back from the dead. You know I was wondering why about that why my mom as a little boy would get me up and get me dressed along with the rest of the family. My brother and my two sisters and we went off to church in the dark.
We stood outside looking toward the east. We watched for the sun to rise and then everybody got excited. You know that’s not the way it happened. Did you know that Christ did not rise on Sunday morning? That’s right. Jesus Christ rose 12 hours earlier. When they came in the morning, the ladies, they came with spices and ointments to finish the burial, and they discovered an empty tomb. Nobody saw the resurrection that morning when they came to the tomb. Later Christ appears and shows himself alive, but you see, Christ was placed in the grave at sundown.
And he told us in Matthew 1240 that he’d be three days and three nights in the grave. That’s 72 hours. So if you put him in the grave at sundown, he has to come out at sundown. Christ rose sanity at sundown. I don’t have a sunrise service. We have a sundown service. We believe Christ rose 72 hours after He’s placed in the grave. Now, if you leave Christ in the grave till Sunday morning, guess what? You violate Scripture big time because you leave Him in the grave three days and four nights.
Think about it. Christ said in Matthew 1240, I’ll be in the grave three days and three nights, not three days and four nights. But if you leave Him in the grave from sundown for all the way till Sunday morning. That’s an additional night period and that would make it three days and four nights. Christ said he’d be in the grave three days and three nights. And if you count Jewish time, they count their day from sundown to sundown. That means Saturday at sundown, Sunday night begins.
So the beginning of the first day of the week is really Saturday at sundown according to Jewish timing. And So Christ rose right at the beginning of the first day of the week and in the morning twelve hours later the women discovered the tomb was empty. There is no such thing as Lent. If you want to get my CD on Lent you can call and order it. We also have a DVD on Lent and its origin and how it’s purely taken.
There is no Lent in your Bible and I’m just reading the newspaper today and it talks here about people. They’re going to give up chocolate and they’re going to give up some of their favorite foods and so on and so on and so on. This is basically according to the Roman Catholic Dictionary and according to what the newspapers are saying, this is penance. This is doing works that will help you earn your way to heaven. That is so wrong.
The Bible says in Ephesians to eight that salvation is none of yourself. It is not as the outcome of anything that you can do. It is the gift of God. And in verse nine of Ephesians two, it says it’s none of works. Unless any man should boast or brag. I’ll never forget the first time I saw that verse. I was eighteen. The night I got saved. And I said to myself, somebody’s wrong, somebody’s wrong, somebody’s wrong. I said to myself, either my church is right, and the Bible is wrong, or the Bible is right, and my church is wrong.
I think you know which way I went. I had to choose the Bible, and I found out that there were many, many things that I was taught that just were not true. There is no Ashwenzi, there is no land in anybody’s Bible, there is no good Friday. Christ was not crucified on Friday. It is impossible. He was crucified on Wednesday of the crucifixion week. And so many things that were taught are just not correct at all. So in the crucifixion week I call Wednesday, good Wednesday, and I call Friday just plain Friday.
Christ was crucified and then placed in the grave for 72 hours, it’s impossible to get 72 hours between Friday and Sunday. This can’t happen. And then for those that try to say, well, it was part of Friday, part of Saturday, part of Sunday, that isn’t even right because Christ rose right as the first day began, Saturday it sundown. He was in the grave any part of Sunday, so it only been part of Friday and part of Saturday. You don’t even get three out of that.
That’s impossible. Christ again had to rise at sundown if He’s placed in the grave at sundown and is to be in the grave 72 hours. That’s what He said, Matthew 1240, look it up for yourself, three days and three nights. If you leave Him in the grave till Sunday morning and that’s three days and four nights, you’re adding an additional night period from sundown until sun up and it will be absolutely contradictory to the Bible. I’m Dr. Hank Lindstrom, this is Bibleline and we’re glad to be able to be with you today.
You can order my CD or my DVD on length and you might find that very helpful at this time. In fact, last year we had a lady called and said, I want to order that and send it to my pastor. Here’s his address. Would you send it directly to him? I don’t know if you got kicked out of the church or not, but there are many that teach Lent at this time of year. You ought to say, chapter and verse please, there is no chapter and verse.
They try to allude that this was comparable somehow to the 40 days that Christ fasted into the wilderness as he began his ministry. That’s not Lent. Lent is the weeping and fasting and praying for Baal to recover from deadly wounds or to be raised from the dead, and then Easter celebrates his resurrection, and I don’t celebrate any of that. I celebrate Jesus. God who came and took on flesh, who died on the cross of Telvary for me, shed his blood, my sin debt and full was buried in rose again from the dead and I believe he came back again from the dead and I celebrate Resurrection Sunday every year the resurrection of Christ again from the dead.
I’m Dr. Angkins from we’re going to go to the phone lines we have Jimmy in Nashville Tennessee and we appreciate hearing from you and welcome to Bible I knew you are on the air. When you’re ready or down you can hear me in the background. Okay. Yes, sir. Yes, I would have thought I’d have to answer a question. Okay, you’re on the air with him. This is he. This author from Bear Blake. What is the question? I wanted to ask him, can he explain about an armor barrier?
Well, an armor barrier is somebody who would go into battle to carry the armor for the soldier and that’s all it is. That’s simple. Okay, but do we have no, because I see a lot of preacher having, they have armor barrack parliament. Is that for the local church today? No, it certainly isn’t. And of course we can make applications to all kinds of things from life, real life, and from the Old Testament, but there’s nothing in the New Testament about armor bearers.
It tells every one of us that we’re all soldiers and in the Lord’s army and in Ephesians 6 that we all need to put on the armor of God. So we don’t need somebody else. We need really to put on the armor of Christ and go forth into battle bringing the gospel to those that are lost. I hope that helps. I hope that helps. All right. Thank you for your that call that was from Jimmy in Nashville, Tennessee. We have Arthur and Arthur.
I don’t know what city’s in, but welcome to Bibleline. Arthur? Arthur is a dial tone. So we lost Arthur and we’ll try to get those calls back. You can call us at 1-800-576-3771. 1-800-576-3771. Well we have anonymous in Tampa and this says please help, I married a man I didn’t love and still do not. I don’t think I can stay in a loveless marriage. Will God forgive me if I divorce? Of course God forgives. But did this really constitute a marriage?
I don’t know. You might have to go to a counselor and it appears, maybe, depending on the length of this, whether you really hit it into what is a marriage. You know, a marriage is a…if you go back to Genesis 2, you have the basis for it and that was to be companions, to love one another and to forsake father and mother and so on. In any case divorce is wrong, God hates divorce, but you’ve got some real problems there if you married somebody you don’t love.
and You’re in that situation, but definitely got hates divorce. I think you need to go to somebody who is skilled in These areas as a counselor would be able to give you some advice. Thank you for calling in certainly Malachi tells us God hates divorce God never intended for divorce and that’s why when going into marriage you certainly need to make sure that this is the one that you want to spend your life with. And that’s why a real quick marriage, if you just meet somebody, is sometimes dangerous because you really don’t know who they are sometimes for a while.
We have Kyle, and Kyle is in Sarasota, Florida, and Kyle, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Earth. Hey, Dr. You’re amazing to me with all the stuff you’re telling about a land. I thought I had all that down. He said Christ died, he was crucified on Wednesday. Now they were celebrating Passover, right? Passover was Thursday of the Crucifixion Week and Christ was crucified on the preparation of the Passover. You see that John 1914, John 1931, that Christ was crucified on the day prior to.
And so when he died at three o’clock on the afternoon of Wednesday, they put him in the grave before six because Passover began at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. And that was really Thursday night, the beginning of the Thursday Passover, which was a Sabbath. And then he was in the grave for 72 hours. That would take him right to Saturday night sundown, which is really the beginning of the first day of the week. And Christ rose, and then in the morning they came and discovered the tomb empty.
Sunday morning. That’s correct. But he rose Saturday night at 6 p.m. Alright, so we seem to be getting caught a lot of nonsense sounds like. Right. Well, we are. It’s really, and not anybody, usually nobody talks about this. I’m the only one and I get people sometimes upset because they don’t want to hear the truth. They want to continue in their tradition and they don’t like to hear that you can’t use the word Easter, but Easter is the name of a sex goddess, the mother of a male.
out of using the word resurrection. It’s powerful. I remember a girl at a checkout line a few years ago and she said to me, happy Easter. I thought that was very nice in her. And I replied, happy resurrection. You know, I saw her, it was almost like I pushed her. I didn’t touch her at all. But the word resurrection is powerful and I saw her body react. And I think as Christians, if we use that word resurrection, it’s a powerful witness as to what we really celebrate.
We don’t celebrate a sex goddess, but we celebrate Jesus rising from the dead after being in the grave 72 hours. That’s great because I thought it was good and that would mean he’d be born in the grave and then Saturday and Sunday and and somehow I thought three days was in there. No, not at all. In fact, I never could think that out as a kid. I said, how do I get three days and three nights? And then they’d just say take it on faith and in all that kind of nonsense and it’s just wrong.
It’s just not correct at all. Christ out on Wednesday and was risen on the Saturday at sundown not Sunday morning and he was putting it that’s right and that’s sundown that’s sundown on my internet site you can pull down a lot of papers i’ve written on this articles and also i have a CD on it and i have a DVD on it that you can take your time and go through the verses and yeah yesterday you would try to download the transcripts of yesterday’s sermon and my computer wouldn’t do it but and even on like the bill or anger on their all catholics and they’re talking about what are you giving up either intelligent people in the fine internet absolutely and they are just following the tradition and of course that the state that they’re going to do penance by giving up things is something wrong because the only way to pay for sin is death or
be cast into hell that a man who’s anything sometimes well they don’t go to the bible they they just follow tradition and if you go to the Bible, all this stuff is exposed. And today we have very few people that are really doing their homework in the scriptures. And you can find Lent traces all the way back to Genesis chapter 10 with Nimrod and his wife, Simoramis, and their supposed Virgin-born son, Tumuz, who is the equivalent of Baal, and how that they prayed and wept and fasted for 40 days for his recovery.
And the mother, who is also known as Easter, celebrated that on forty days after length yeah i’ve heard all about that famous christmas and uh… Yes, he said some about Jesus was probably born on Halloween at the Devil would put his corner on that market there. You’re absolutely right. I believe that’s what Satan is doing. He’s taking the glory away from Christ and diverted it to himself as that’s a day when Satan is really worshiped. That’s great. Thanks, Doc.
You’re very welcome and God bless. Thank you for calling in. Our phone lines are all lighted up here. We’re going to go back to Jimmy. Somehow we got him dropped by accident. Jimmy back in Nashville, Tennessee. Welcome back to the program. How you doing, Dr. Hank? I just want to start off the fan that I really do enjoy your show. And I’ve put this for quite a while now. And I just want to let you know that I thank you for doing a good job with it.
My question is, what is your opinion on a Christian man belonging to the largest, like the nations or charters? Well I think it’s wrong. If you read the scriptures it says about those that are doctrine and sound. You know the masons are a religion in themselves and they have that G which doesn’t necessarily stand for the God that we believe in but can be any God including Allah or any other God of any other religion. So you really have to be careful what you are involved in.
We’ve got to go to break and we’ll come right back and do the second half hour by one. Don’t change that, I will be right back. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Well, I’m Dr. Hank Gunströmmann. It’s great to be with you today. Thank you for tuning in and I want to let you know that we are on television today on World Harvest at 630 nationwide on channel 321 and in the Tampa Bay area on the west coast of Florida on at 7 o’clock on the Christian television network.
Go to my website and you can catch our TV programs and radio programs 24-7 from anywhere in the world. Just go to BibleLineMinistries.org or .com and click on the TV set is easiest way and you’ll get a page that comes up and on the other side it says click here for Bible on television. On the right side it will say click here for Bible on radio. And we have around 15,000 people that listen to Bible on the internet. Isn’t that incredible?
And we’ve had around 10,000 watching our TV show on internet. And you can catch past programs that are sitting there in archive. Would you like to help Bibleline? We would appreciate your prayers for us. Obviously we believe in prayer and that God does answer prayer. And would you consider also giving a gift to Bibleline? As Bibleline is totally supported by our listeners. And you can do that by phone, by calling our 800 number and giving a gift by credit card over the phone.
Or if you’d like, call and get our address or have our operator send you an envelope with our address on it and then you can mail in a gift to Bivaline. Your gifts are necessary for this program to continue and we certainly hope that you’ll consider giving a regular gift to Bivaline. I believe you’ll be making an investment in eternity that you’ll not regret. We’re so glad to be on the air in so many places in the United States but it all costs money.
In order to do that we certainly require your help by your gifts to Bibleline. We’re on in many states and of course on the internet we’re on worldwide and of course on our TV we’re on usually on Thursdays but we’re on direct TV on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 6.30 pm on channel 321. Again if you could help Bibleline and you haven’t given a gift this month, would you consider giving one this month to help Bible and Paulus? Our first can explain how you might do that.
Don’t forget we have a resource center with all kinds of Bibles and concordances and commentaries and my CVs and DVDs of teachings on about 40 different subjects and books of the Bible. It’ll be great. I helped you. We’re going to rejoin the stations that have been on break and come back and do the second and have hours of stay tuned or go to the internet to catch the second half hour of Bible and don’t change your dial. Here we go.
We’re ready to do the second half. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break and this is Bibleline. It’s wonderful to be with you. Thanks for tuning in. We appreciate all of our listeners and thank God for you. You are the ones who are deserving of applause because you are the ones who keep us on the air.
It is your gifts that allow the Bible to be on the air without you. We would be off the air. So God bless all of you who pray for and give the Bible and we sure do appreciate every one of you. We are going to be talking about the Bible again some more. We are coming to you live from Tampa, Florida from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church where I’m the pastor and our signal goes right here from here on internet lines to rather digital phone lines there the ISD in lines to Detroit and there Detroit puts us up on the satellite and then stations across America pull the program off of the satellite and that’s how it gets also on to our internet site.
comes off the satellite. So this is kind of the modern technology. The signal goes from Tampa, Florida to Detroit, then up to a satellite orbiting the planet Earth, 22,500 miles above the equator, and then back down to the radio stations who receive it on a satellite dish and then play the program on their station. Isn’t that fascinating? So this signal, right Now my voice is already going into outer space to a satellite and back down to your station and then over the airwaves to your radio wherever you want to be listening.
Kind of fascinating. We’re in the last days. I think Jesus is coming soon and these are days of course that are exciting for the believer as we watch the news unfold that was written in the Bible thousands of years ago. We’re teaching a class right now called Jesus is coming. We’ve just finished eight hours. We have two more hours next week that we will do and then we will conclude the class. Jesus is coming and you will be able to order that on CD or DVD.
If you would like to get that, just call our operators and they will be glad to take your order and as soon as we finish the last two classes we will ship that out to you. The DVD I understand is impeccable. clarity of the picture and the audio is just wonderful. You can also get that audio quality on the CDs and it’s not very expensive also. That’ll help by the line and it’ll help you I’m sure in your studies about Jesus coming back.
I think we have had some fantastic classes and we want you to get in on that. Our Sunday messages are available on the internet. You can go right there to my website, go to the home page, click on the camera, and you’ll see our Sunday messages there in our comment. Watch them as often as you want. And you can actually see the message live on Sunday morning around 11 o’clock. And when I actually begin the message, the audio and the video comes up until then you’ll see clouds and you’ll hear the old rugged cross and they’ll say be patient or something like that, that the service will begin shortly.
So be patient and right after 11 somewhere in there a few minutes after you’ll actually catch the live sermon right here from Calvary Community. We’ve got a lot of callers sitting out there and we’re going to go right to Jimmy again somehow. We never get a chance to finish up with Jimmy. Jimmy’s in Nashville, Tennessee and we’re excited about being on the air in Nashville and they play us a bonus time from one to two in the morning in national uh…
each and every uh… uh… day so many through friday were on in the middle of the night and a lot of people listen to uh… bible and in national in the middle of the night did you know we were on in the middle of the night there jimmy and one of the two in the morning yet i thought that’s why i thought it uh… this until you at night and i thought this kind of uh… know what you have real estate about their news probably taken in the morning and ahead over a night but yes that’s what i thought that the men to you will get but uh…
we finish our question or where we were you still have another question uh… well uh… we’ll you would start to leave but then we got that off i I don’t remember now. We’ve done a lot of things. No, my question was, but what is your opinion about Christian men belonging to logic? Yeah, I said it would be wrong. There’s some wonderful books out there that expose how lodges are really a religious system. I was saying that the G that the masons use is not necessarily the God of the Bible, but it can be any God, including Allah.
And you’ll notice the shriners on their caps. They have that. that’s the moon god of Islam. And so you wonder, well, these people mixed up or what? Here they are sometimes claiming to be Christian when actually in reality on their cap, they have the Crescent moon, which is the symbol of Allah in Islam, and certainly we don’t worship Allah in Christianity. Christianity so hopefully that helps Jimmy keep listening up there. We’ve got to go to our next caller We’re gonna go to Frank down in Sarasota and Frank welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.
Oh Hi, dr. Hank. I just wanted to call and thank you for your comments on Ash one day and Lent and the whole Easter Pagan inspired me to share the gospel yesterday with someone who actually had ashes and I Think you’re top those individuals who practice ash one today. And some of them… some of the we lost that call i don’t know what happened there we were back here we go alright so we got you get off there for a second but that’s great appreciate your saying those things and uh… it is an opportunity wonderful opportunity to share christ and tell the truth about what’s going on yeah it’s really i i i like i like the common state there that they actually help me to uh… share the gospel and your your radio ministry that’s okay thank you frank frankincer said it florida and we now have uh…
tom in the land florida least coast for the time welcome to my life thank you doctor hank i just wanted to uh… do a little follow-up it’s okay for jimmy up there in ten a c regarding the nation’s okay i uh… i just wanted to let them know that you know that was something i was looking into myself because uh… several friends and business associates belong to that organization and you know wonderful people good uh… good friends and uh…
and people i’ve had relationships with them for years, you know. They are not supposed to, and they didn’t, they’re not supposed to go out and actively try to recruit people, but they drop a lot of things on what they do, you know, and lodge meetings and such to, you know, kind of take my interest a little bit. And, you know, and I did look into it, and I attended one of their open house at one of the lodges. The part that got me was, I don’t know if you had heard this before, but the title for a president of a lodge, if you will, and they elect a new one each and every year, but the title that they, so by, is Worshipful Master.
And that was when I had a problem with it. You know, I just had a real problem with that and just decided not to pursue it any further. And maybe there’s someations out there listening that want to clarify that. uh… i i never went any further didn’t you know any questions or anything like that i didn’t ask them why i just know that i wasn’t comfortable with it and uh… they’ll maybe jimmy’s in the same situation just want to uh…
think about that that’s all and thank you very much thank you god bless you know uh… i just saw john anchorberg uh… on monday he was over to the national religious broadcasters convention that i was at and he’s got a couple of good books. He’s got some videos. In fact, when he did those videos on national television, he had a former mason who had gotten saved, exposing the secret rituals of Masonic Lodge. You can get that video. It’s unbelievable.
And apparently John was saying that his life was threatened. They threatened to burn his house down and everything else for exposing these rituals that are supposedly secret. But it’s a secret organization and they swear that they would kill anyone and disembowel them if they reveal those secrets. And so that doesn’t sound like Christian to me. Anyway, you might want to get those videos and those resources, and you can call us and we can tell you how to do that at our number 1-800-576-3771.
We have now Tom in Richmond, Virginia, and Tom, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Earth. Good morning, Hank. Hey, I just got a comment about the masons that the gentleman just called, and you were talking about the G and the symbol and how they’re basically their own religion. I have some information that a lot of people understand or think that that G actually stands for Gnostic or Gnosis, which is the hidden knowledge of that suppose it’s not the gospel.
And actually they’re like a Luciferian type religion in their origins. So I don’t know if you ever heard that before. Yeah, I have heard that. And it sounds too strong for some because there’s some wonderful people that are sucked into that and become duped by it. I think Masonry is really anti-Christ. Yeah, and to see, the initiates on the first level never get told these deeper secrets that they’re actually getting involved in. Put the hood over you and they perform these occultic things while you can’t see it.
Of course, that’s where that term, hood wing comes from. And they’re definitely deceptive. Well, thank you again for sharing that additional information. Sure thing Hank, you have a good day, all right? Tom in Richmond, Virginia and thank you for letting us know that. We have Willie in Tampa, Florida and Willie, welcome to the Bible and you’re on the air. Hello. Hi Willie. That’s Amson. This is Bibleline and you’re Samson? No, I would like to. I’m right here. Go ahead.
You can ask about Samson. Listen, I would like to, if I could please present. Sure, you can talk to my operators and they’ll do that. Let me give you back to the operators and they’ll fix you right up. Okay. Okay, that was Willie wanted to get the CD on Lent. We have a CD for $5 on Lent and it’ll allow you to review it very slowly with your Bible. And also we have a DVD where you can watch a video presentation on Lent that is available here you can call in and get that as well.
We have Wilfredo in Deltona, Florida, says, can one still be a pastor if you’ve been married three times? I believe you can be used as a Lord in a mighty way. But the position of pastor is, I think, restricted to one wife. If you read Timothy and if you read Titus where it has the qualifications for an elder, It says that they are to be the husband of one wife. I don’t believe that some people try to say one at a time.
I think it means one wife for a lifetime. I would recommend, Alfredo, that you would look at Titus chapter one and look at first of the chapter 3, and you’ll have the qualifications there, and obviously it doesn’t. And the reason why is because you’re a role model for children and for families, and if you are divorced many times, then everybody in your congregation will say, well, it’s okay, because the pastor has been divorced three times. But I think you can certainly be used in many different aspects of ministry.
I think you can certainly be used in a mighty way in leading people to Christ and teaching the Word. But I think that… You’re disqualified from being the pastor. Alright, we are now going to go to run in Seminole, Florida and Ron, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Thank you. Good morning and thank you for your program. It’s so educational. I have a question regarding the authority of the Protestant churches. I watch all kinds of programs on TV.
One of them watches at the Catholic program and they always insist, well, where do the Protestants have any authority to, for instance, give the communion and so on and where do they, I mean, we know that, people that are starting churches, many people start churches by themselves and in a way some of them are kind of wackling. I agree with you. So what would you say about the authority of the authority? The authority comes from God’s word. If you read the Epistles of Paul, there was no huge church organization.
There were local churches where they were told to seek out men that could qualify to be leaders, leaders to lead the church and that they were to keep the ordinances. So they were given authority right there. In 1 Corinthians 11, he writes to the Corinthian believers to keep the ordinances which we believe are to only water baptism and the Lord’s Supper. They were instructed to do that. There was no churches at that time much further out. This was early on about 1854 and here they were in Corinth, Greece and they were to keep the ordinances.
So I think the authority comes from God’s word to every believer that we can assemble with other believers and that when local groups of believers come together, that is a part of the body of Christ and they are to be structured and to observe the ordinances and study the Word of God and proclaim Christ. And so that’s the authority. that some organization or denomination has the authority is not not uh… scriptural yeah and well like that for instance you make a great big thing of this this is so far of the uh…
creating the bread and the uh… these participants people don’t have any authority to to consecrate the uh… the uh… large well you know the grown catchers is saying uh… that They have this apostolic authority that Peter was the first pope. That is certainly not true. When you go to Acts 15 and the first counsel of the early church, James presided, not Peter. And Peter never, ever made any claims like that. And of course, the Bible says in Ephesians 2, 20, that the church is built upon the foundation of the apostles and the prophets, Jesus Christ himself, being the chief cornerstone.
So the church is built upon Christ, not upon Peter, but it was those were the early leaders that spread the gospel and the church grew from that foundation. But no one of them ever claimed authority for themselves. The authorities in the Word of God and we’re told in God’s Word that we’re to go out and and share the gospel with every creature, and that when groups of believers come together that they then become really Oligical Church and are to select elders and deacons and to keep the ordinances and so on.
And of course Rome wants to say that they are exclusively the Church and that they have some power passed on down through some apostolic succession. That’s not true. You know the Roman Catholic Church as we know it didn’t even begin to the 6th century and that’s just history. And so you don’t have any succession of popes as they would try to have you believe that they had some power passed on from one man to another right on down to the present.
And if you read their sort of history, sometimes there was many as five men all claiming to be popes at the same time. And some of them were really bad guys, committing incest, rape, and all kinds of crimes and struggling for power. It was a political thing. And some of the popes were really not too nice of guys if you read history. And you can do your homework. And it’s no wonder why some people have said, whoa, I don’t want to be a part of this because of the very sort of history of this so-called apostolic succession of popes.
The Halley’s Bible Handbook, I think they’ve removed it now in the most recent editions. I think somebody got paid off. But if you go back and get a Halley’s Bible Handbook from 20 years ago or more, and it’s been around for an awful long time, has a history of the popes in the back that absolutely will blow your mind about the so-called apostolic succession and how that there is no apostolic succession. Thanks for your call, Ron. I hope that helps a little.
But we are living in a time when people don’t study at all anymore. It seems like we’re like a fast food type generation where we just get information from all different sources and we don’t really pay attention whether it’s truth or not. And that’s of course what’s happened here with Lent. Lent is certainly pagan. But if you have the Tampa Tribune today on the metro section, there’s a full page all about Lent and here are some people saying that they are going to give up chocolate, they are going to give up watching television, they are going to give up going to movies as penance.
Now penance by definition is a payment for sin and according to the Bible there is only one pay for sin and that is death. The wages of sin is death the Bible says and ultimately that would mean hell if you paid for your sin you would have to pay for it by what is called the second death and that is to be cast into the eternal lake of fire forever and ever and ever. That’s Revelation 20 verse 14 where it says they were cast into the everlasting lake of fire.
This is the second death. The first death being the separation of your soul from your body. The second death being the separation of your soul from God in hell forever and ever and ever. So it is obviously just runs counter to the Bible all the way through, plus the pagan origin taking us to Baal. When people prayed and fasted up until Constantine, it was always about Baal. But what happened when Constantine came along, this religious system that was the worship of a mother and her son, Astroth or Easter and Bail, became Mary and Jesus.
Mary got the same titles that Easter had. Easter in Jeremiah 44 is called the Queen of Heaven, and that title has been given to Mary today. There’s nothing in the Bible that Mary was ever made to Queen of Heaven, but Easter was, And so Easter became Mary and the baby became Jesus and in those situations Jesus never grows up. He’s always the baby in the mother’s arms and the twelve year old standing beside his mother which is an allusion to the story of Christ.
But Mary is the one who speaks and not Jesus, Jesus is a baby or a pre-team and says nothing. But the Bible says we’re not to listen to Mary. to listen to Christ. The voice that came out of heaven said, this is my beloved Son, and whom I am well pleased. Hear ye him, not hear Mary. Mary is not the mediator. Mary is not the Savior. Christ is the Savior. In 1 Timothy 2, 5, it says there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.
So the mediator is not Mary. We don’t pray to God through Mary, we pray to God through Christ, who is the only, it says one meter, not two or three or four, there’s only one that is Christ. We have Bill in Tampa, Florida and Bill, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning, Dr. Hank. I actually have three questions of asking and then I’ll hang out for lunchy answer. First question is that my understanding that angels were created beings the worship God and they were given they were not given free will Well, they were given free will and they were yeah,.[they had their choice and their choice was that when Satan or Lucifer led the rebellion a third of them chose to reject God and follow Satan so they they were the fallen angels and they’re judged and eventually they’ll be in hell with
Satan but right now they are there there there the full angels of the demons spoken of it in the testament well for some reason i thought that didn’t have free work father question is um… i’ve been talking to a jojoba’s witness what i’m trying to lead to christ which seems impossible but uh… he challenged me to give him he’s denying you know the idea of christ or who prays did he he told challenge me to give him the best grading you know jesus is god because i know jesus i don’t think he’s ever said i am god but he’s in several instances referred units being done Well, he does say he’s got in John 824.
He said if you believe not that I am that title I am is the name that God used at the burning bush when he appeared to Moses and Jesus said if you don’t believe that I am you shall die in your sins and so he’s absolutely claiming to be God there and the witnesses don’t have a good answer for that. That is John. I also brought up to me know the day to scripture where he you know he said before Abraham.
What are was I am all right? He just deep. Yeah, he uh, but the okay and that third thing is The anti-Christ is this somewhat a reincarnation of a leader in the past or that someone some people have believed that some believe For a long time that Nero Would come back as the anacrist He was certainly anacrist like but no, I don’t believe so at all. I think he’s a fresh fresh person and the state will empower and I think he may be around right now for close and I think we are close to the return of Christ.
We’ve got a run Bill. The hour is up and we’ll be back tomorrow. Watch our TV show this afternoon at 4 o’clock in the Hillsborough County area on Channel 20 at 630 on Direct TV, Channel 321 nationwide at 7 o’clock all over the West the Florida on CTN and certainly we hope everybody listening has trusted Christ. If you haven’t, just say, Lord, I am a sinner. I don’t understand much about the Bible, but I trust Christ right now as the one who died and paid my sin debt full.
And the moment you trust Him is your only hope of heaven. God save you. Keep looking up. Jesus is coming. We’ll be back listening to Bibleline.
