Hey, tomorrow night, we’re going to start that class. It’s called in-time controversy. It’s all about this whole idea that God is through with Israel. There is no rapture, no tribulation, no antichrist. All of that, of course, is just washed away by spiritualizing the Bible. We are going to be talking about these issues and it is kind of an in-time prophecy fulfilled Peter said in 2 Peter chapter 3 that in the in-times there would be those who would say where is the promise of his coming and of course there is a lot of folks now that are on the rise with predarism that says that there is no rapture, there is no tribulation period and so on.
Well we are going to deal with the methods of interpretation, the origin of these doctrines and how you as a believer can be assured of the blessed hope that Jesus Christ is coming in the air to catch us up to meet him in the clouds and will be forever with the Lord. And then his plan here on the earth will be carried out a literal thousand-year kingdom called the Millennium will occur after the seven years of tribulation to follow the rapture.
We’re excited. I’m looking forward to the Lord’s return. I believe he could come this year. I don’t know what year he’s coming. But certainly he could. not come out tomorrow night and sign up and be a part of the class or you can call in and sign up over the telephone to get it on the internet. It’s interesting to me how many people are talking about visiting heaven and coming back. I heard one of Angela say that he was caught up in heaven and actually saw his mansion under construction.
Jesus showed him around and said, this is your mansion that is under construction. and that amazing and we have others that say that they have been there and come back and they have stories to tell and of course there’s a popular book out right now 90 minutes in heaven. All of this of course I don’t buy into it all because I don’t believe they really died. I don’t believe they’ve gone anywhere and I think they’re deluded personally but in any case if they did they wouldn’t be allowed to talk about it because Paul actually did get caught up into the third heaven, and he says in 2 Corinthians 12 that he saw things that were unlawful.
He was not allowed. God put a gag order on Paul and said, you can’t talk about what you have seen. Even in addition to that, God gave Paul an illness to keep him humble after that experience, so he wouldn’t talk about it. I’ll read the verse for you. It’s 2 Corinthians chapter 12, and it says here in verse 4, how that he was caught up into paradise and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
So why would it be that people can come along here lately and talk about their experience? I don’t believe they can. I don’t believe they go to heaven at all. I don’t believe they actually die. And I think they somehow are maybe sincerely having some kind of delusion. But I think these are part of the end times departing from the Bible. Second Timothy 4 says clearly that in the last days they would not endure sound doctrine. Well if you endure sound doctrine, how could you accept the concept that somebody could come back from heaven and talk about it?
When Paul himself was forbidden to say anything about it and he uses the term here, it would be unlawful. It would be unlawful. So these are disobedient Christians at best if they did go to heaven to come back and talk about things that it’s not lawful for them to talk about. There certainly being disobedient should we listen to them. I think it’s really a charade. I think it’s a part of the last day in times. I think it’s a part of Christians having their ears tickled.
In 2 Timothy chapter 4 it says in verse 3 that they would just leap at the opportunity to hear teachers that would tickle their ears and they would be turning away their ears from the truth, the Bible, the Word of God, and be turned unto fables. That’s Well, it’s interesting that we are told throughout the Bible to continue in the Word, to continue in the Scriptures, because this will keep us safe when we are assaulted with different doctrines that come from outside the Bible.
And we’ll know whether it is of God or not, because if it doesn’t agree with the Bible, then it’s wrong. Let me quote you again, Isaiah 8.20 says, if they speak not according to this word, that is the word of God, it is because there is no light in them. There is no light in them. Isaiah 8.20, you need to write it down. Obviously we need to compare always with the Scriptures. And even in this passage in 2 Corinthians 12, you go right to chapter 13 and Paul tells us there examine yourselves whether you be in the faith.
The phrase the faith occurs 43 times in the New Testament. It’s a phrase that talks about the body of truth has contained in the Bible. And if you are not in line with the truths contained in the Bible, then you are not in the faith. And Paul says examine yourself. Take a closer look at yourself. you in the faith? That is the body of truth that is contained in the Word of God. Well, we find in 1 Timothy chapter 4 the Holy Spirit warns about these things that we see happening today.
It says the Spirit, that is the Holy Spirit, speaking expressly, 1 Timothy 4-1, that in the latter times, wow, it tells us the latter times and I believe we are in those latter times, some shall depart from the faith. There is that phrase again, the faith. would depart from the faith and what would happen? They would give heed to seducing spirits. You know the devil wants to lure us away from the Bible. The devil wants to tell us stories that will tickle our ears and sound exciting.
But you know if they don’t line up with the Bible we are not to follow those seducing spirits that will seduce us away from the Word of God. Paul led people to Christ and he did it under very difficult circumstances when we find him in the book of Acts teaching and preaching. He was stoned and persecuted for his teaching. But you know when he got done with all these cities he came round about and came back to the very cities where he had been persecuted, where he had preached the gospel.
And the Bible tells us here that when he came back around, he confirmed the disciples. Now the Bible talks about those who become believers are not necessarily disciples, but when you decide to continue in God’s Word, then you become a disciple. 8 Jesus talks about if you continue as a believer. In my word, then are you indeed my disciples? Well in any case, Paul in chapter 14 of Acts in verse 22, he came back to the cities of Listera, Iconium, Antioch confirming the souls of the disciples.
That is those who had become disciples upon believing they later made a second decision to become disciples. And he says here that he exhorted them, that means He encouraged them to continue in the faith. There’s that phrase again, the faith. The faith. We found it already in several verses we just talked about. And they talked about people departing from the faith. They talked about hearing this verse that Paul exhorted or encouraged the disciples to continue in the faith. You become a disciple by continuing in the faith.
And then he encourages them to continue to continue in the faith. What an interesting concept we have throughout the Bible. The Word of God is where it’s at. Amazingly, today we don’t see much of that more and more. The Word of God is on a low shelf, not very much being really taught or explained. People are not really into the Bible on a regular basis and really don’t know half the time whether they’re hearing something scriptural or unscriptural. But remember, anybody who claims that they have been to heaven and come back, if they actually did it, which I don’t believe, are not allowed to speak about what they see.
Paul said that he went to heaven, came back, but he heard words that were unlawful for a man to speak. And it’s amazing how many people are out there with books and teachings and get on television and tell her story about how they’ve been to heaven and come back. Well, I wouldn’t believe it. I really like Erwin Lutzer of the Moody Church in Chicago. He has a book that we have here in our Resource Center, and he has a book called One Minute After You Die.
But he takes the scriptures to describe what happens one minute after you die. He doesn’t claim he has a personal experience where he dies and goes to heaven and comes comes back and tells you what’s going to happen one minute after you die, but he takes the word of God and uses the word of God to tell you what would happen one minute after you die. That’s the right approach. And what a wonderful book that is. It’s such a comfort to so many to find out what the scriptures say.
Not somebody’s story like the one I shared a moment ago where he saw his mansion under construction in heaven. That is, I believe, phony baloney. Certainly if he did go to heaven which I doubt, he wouldn’t be allowed to talk about it when he got back. We just quoted the verse 2 Corinthians chapter 12 verse 4. We’re living in the last days. You’ve got to be careful what you’re hearing. These, I believe, are seducing spirits that cause people to depart from the faith, which which is the word of God that we are told that we are to continue in the faith.
And in the last days we find that the Bible said they would not endure sound doctrine. They would want their ears tickled. And so the seducing spirits are all about trying to lure us away from the word of God as our foundation, as our anchor, as the book that lets us know what is of the Spirit of truth, the Holy Spirit, or the Spirit of error, which is Satan. 1 John 4 talks about those two spirits, the Spirit of Satan and the Spirit called the Holy Spirit or the eternal Spirit, God’s Himself, and how that one is one that always speaks truth and the other one is the Spirit of error, E-R-R-O-R.
If you have never trusted Christ as your Savior, that is the most important thing you can do. If you have not done that you ought to do that right now, I would just say, Lord, I am a sinner. I do not understand much, perhaps, but I do believe Jesus died for me and by his death that shed blood, paid my sin, dead and full, was buried and rose again from the dead. The moment you do, God saves you and you become saved forever.
I did that when I was eighteen. When I was nineteen, I made a second decision to serve the Lord and I of course became a a disciple at that point. I believe you ought to make two decisions. One, first to trust Christ and receive the gift of eternal life, and then the second decision to become a disciple, a follower of Christ. One who would live their lives out to lead people to Christ and become a fisher of men as Christ said.

Yes, sir, I was wondering if you thought that there was any correlation with the millions of bees that they have now said has gone missing in the world and the end times that were living in today. Could you explain on that if the Bible has anything to say about that?
I appreciate it. That is an interesting phenomenon and obviously without the bees you don’t have the colonization which is so integral to the whole production of crops and so on. We’re going to have food shortages. Perhaps this is a connection. We know that after the rapture, during the tribulation, Matthew 24 says there would be famines. Maybe this is a part of what will happen if there are no bees to pollinate. That’s quite an interesting thing. We’re not getting frontline headlines on it, but yes, they don’t know what happened to the bees.
The bees have disappeared, and they are so vital to our food chain. So, Jerry, I think that something’s out there happening, that one of many dozens of signs that we see, and I believe the Lord’s return is getting closer by the day. Okay, in the Bible, it has a wonderful verse against what you’re just saying about these people, the things they’ve went to heaven.
Okay, you want to say it? It is Hebrews 927, it is appointed and the men wants to die, wants to die. and after this the judgment well i would be pretty much uh… refuting what they do if they die uh… and then come back to the next time nobody right right so i mean that’s good to prove that you couldn’t possibly die and come back and it is a birthday or wrong well dor’s thank you for sharing that that’s that you’re actually uh…
that’s a great point and i hope people are taking notes okay thank you thank you you she’s right it’s a point And then when one’s to die, and if they die and then they come back and if they die a second time, that just doesn’t make sense. We are living, I think, hearing stories which maybe these people, maybe who have been in a terrible accident or whatever to recover, might have had hallucinations or whatever happens in your brain during that time and come back and tell a story, but they didn’t actually die or they would violent that scripture, wouldn’t they?

This morning, not to hang. Good. And you He said that Christ died on the Passover. But you say he was buried on the Feast of Unleavened Buried. Now, after Christ being that he died on Passover, I thought he would be buried on the same day on the Feast of Passover.
He was. And that’s also when the Feast of the the Feast of Unleavened Bread occurs. They start at the same time. Okay, okay. See, I know in Old Testament, sometimes they call the Feast of Pass over the Feast of Unleavened Bread. See, when I think about the Feast of Unleavened Bread, I think about it starting on the 5th. Well, it doesn’t. They both begin at the month of a build. That’s correct. Not the month of Nice and. Oh, okay.
Nice and okay. All right, and um, Saint John 19 is body to remain on the Christ. This is the preparation of the Passover, which is the preceding afternoon and the preceding day. That’s when Christ was crucified and when he died and they were trying to get him off the cross before the Passover began, which it began at sundown Wednesday night and that was really Thursday night for the Jew. They count their night first. And so the Passover night began at sundown.
They had to get him off the cross. He was crucified on the preparation day, and that would have been the 13th. And the 14th actually began at sundown. He was in the grave right at sundown. The Bible says that Jesus ate the castle of a mill with them. That’s great. And that was the preceding night. If you go to Exodus, it says that they could offer the sacrifice of the Passover between the evenings, which allowed for it to be offered up on Tuesday night and again also on Wednesday.
So obviously he ate with his disciples on Tuesday and was betrayed that night. And Wednesday morning. the morning he stood before pilot at 6am, nailed to the cross at 9am and the and the lights went out at 12 noon and he died at 3 p.m. them. 1 3 3 and then in that second twilight period, which was 3 to 6, 3 3 4 3 5 he died right at the beginning of that at exactly 3. 5 4 4 4 Jesus chose the moment of his death and then in those 3 hours they heard 3 5 5 4 they buried him and got him in the grave by 6 p.m.

Good morning though. You’re welcome. We were the lady that The one that you agree with in regard to the scripture that they supported for men to die once. There are so many examples in the Bible that, like Lazarus and some other people that die, they will resurrect and then die again. with any more exceptions and I believe the people in the rap Rapture will be an exception and it will never have to die at all. We’ll just go simply straight up to the earthward and transform into our new bodies on the way up.
But I do believe that the life after death experiences are not real and that they don’t really die. You know, in a real death situation, the body begins to break down. enzymes are released that destroy every cell for a real resurrection to occur. All the trillions of cells in your body, each one has to be resurrected. And that’s why the miracle of Lazarus was such a great one, because he had been dead four days, and the people knew by that time they said to the Lord by this time he’s thinking when Christ asked that the stone be rolled away from the tomb.
By the way, I’ve crawled down into that tomb on many occasions on my trips to Israel. That was a very confining space if you have claustrophobia, you sure wouldn’t want to do it. But in any case, Lazarus was raised from the dead and you’re absolutely right about that. I would agree that there are some exceptions. I really believe this modern thing of coming back is wrong for many reasons. Of course, one is that why would they be allowed to talk about it when Paul said it was unlawful for a man to talk about an experience like that.
So thank you Armando for jumping in there. I think you’re right. We’re going to go to Glenn in Spring Hill 40. He has an off-air question. He says, what are your thoughts on Dr. Jack Van Eppie and Jesse DePlantis? I’m a little weary of some of Jesse’s teachings on his heaven visit and so on. Again, this is the whole thing we’re talking about here. many are claiming visits to heaven nowadays. It seems to be fashionable. It sells a lot of books and it creates a lot of attention.
I think it tickles a lot of ears and I think it’s a part of the end times here. Interestingly, Jack Van Epi believes that animals go to heaven and that your animal will be raptured at the rapture. I can’t buy into that, but otherwise a lot of what Jack Jack Menopie teaches us right on, and I would be in agreement with him. Thank you, Glenn, for calling in from Spring Hill, Florida. only if you “/apply different interpretive methods to the Bible where you can explain away with the swipe of your pen and literal interpretations. That doesn’t really mean that. Can you come up with these fan of the ideas that there is no rapture, no tribulation, no antichrist, and so on. So uh… I think we’re living in the last days. I think this is a fulfillment of prophecy. The friends of Israel have said this is so damaging because now in Christian circles Christians are now ignoring and abandoning Israel because they believe God’s purpose for Israel is over and they’re finding a lot of support for Israel is dropping off because churches are buying into the fact that God has no future plan for Israel which if you read Jeremiah 31 God says is a good one.
As long as that sun shines every day, God is not done with Israel. As long as the moon can be seen at night, God is not done with Israel. I think we need to read their Bible. And Romans 11 says, have God cast away His people which He foredrew? Paul says strongly, God forbid. Absolutely not. He has not done that. He has a plan. It will be carried out as soon as the church is completed and the rapture takes place.

I just got a wonderful call Saturday. It was my birthday and fellow in jail listening to Bible and everyday calls and thanks and called his say happy birthday and thanked me for the Bible and program. He said he has so far led 35 men to Christ in jail. Isn’t that amazing? Isn’t that wonderful? 35 men have come to know Christ and he teaches the Bible study, listens to the Bibleline every day in jail. He says, I’m doing God’s work.
Not exciting. I tell you, we have many, many letters from jails and people that are listening in the different jails, not only in the Tampa Bay area, but in Virginia and other areas where prisoners are hearing the Bibleline program. And we’ve had them come to know Christ and move forward. And that was an exciting call. That was the best birthday present I had to hear about somebody listening to the Bible and then taking the message and leaving others to Christ really just thrilled me.

You know he resigned 29 at the point on the man wants to die. And he did raise Lazarus I know from the dead but no word did us say that he went up to heaven and he or he talked about going to heaven what he saw.
You’re absolutely right. There’s nothing in the record about what he saw or that actually actually went to heaven. yeah but you he was resurrected no doubt about it yet these people say that uh… you know they experienced one of the heaven and and then the other part of the birth has and after this the judgment That’s great. I read the books, I read the books because the note was wrong and I wanted to be able to talk to people about it, but they discussed it with me.
And it said after this, it was a scripture says, and after this the judgment, well they didn’t mention anything about the judgment. I know, I really believe it’s a deception and people are selling a lot of books with this whole thing. I think some of these people might be sincere, but I think they’ve been been listening to a seducing spirit themselves that has drawn them away and it just, whenever it’s contrary to the Bible, you know, I read all those books about the life after death experiences that they would come back and basically said there was no hell, that everything was wonderful, it was a place of light and peace and that’s the devil’s lie because you know, that’s the denial of what happened back there in the garden when God told them they would not eat of the tree that knows you good and evil that they would surely die.
They say that there’s no penalty for sin, that there’s no hell. It’s certainly Satan’s lie that he loves to propagate. So he loves to have these people come back and it makes everybody feel good, boy, when I die or when my relative has died, it’s just blissful and wonderful and blah, blah, blah, but if they haven’t trusted Christ, that is not the case. And they’re going to be forever in a lake of fire and I don’t like it. It gives them full of hope.
It does. Now they think that they don’t realize they have to really be peniturist and receive Christ as their Savior. So it gives them really full of hope and they’ll go to hell. So it’s a sad thing, these books and these messages that are coming out from people. I think you’re right, Doris, and I appreciate your call. Okay. Doris in Bradenton, Florida. When we trust the Lord, we do repent, by the way, which is the change of mind that occurs when we trust Christ as Savior.
The Greek word means to change your mind, meta, noia, meta meaning change, noia meaning mind. When you repent, you change your mind and it’s included when you believe. When you believe you do change your mind about whatever you were previously trusting in, the trusting in Christ as your Savior. We have Latrice in Richmond, Virginia. Yes, I do. I heard you discussing, you know, about life and death. I also was given a CD and it was talking about this woman. She has been time in hell. And I mean, do you think that’s any truth to that as well? Because she described how, you know, she saw her mom there in hell and, you know, and she said it was like God took her own experience to see, you know, the hell was really, really real. And she saw her mom there and she said she just cried and, you know, and all that.
And that was a real touching, you know, CD and everything. I don’t believe that at all. I think this is not accurate from the Bible. Once you die, if you’re a believer, you’re going to be absent from the body present with the Lord. If she was a believer, she would never have gone on a little tour of hell. If she was an unbeliever, then she would be stuck there. If you read Luke 16, the rich man who died, all of a sudden, was in a place that he didn’t like to be in.
He said he was tormented in the flame. He wanted a drop of water just to cool his tongue a little bit and there was no escape and he knew he couldn’t get out. It says there was an impassable gulf that he couldn’t cross out of that place. So if they die and they actually go to these places and they’re not coming back. But actually, you know, if you didn’t say she died, she said she was like sleep or whatever and God just took her up there to show her because she was saying they got to always come and talk to her at a certain time and this particular time he took her up to hell.
to go down to hell with her and you know this is what happened and you know and then she always described of seeing the light. I don’t know if you heard that expression but they see the light. Well I just agree with all that. In fact when they talk about they see an angel of light you know in 2 Corinthians chapter 11 it describes Satan as an angel of light and he might be the angel of deception that appears as an angel of light that they’re all meeting and talking with.
So I really feel like that we’re needing to stay with the Bible. Why don’t people say, hey, read the Bible instead of reading these other books or listen to what the Word of God has to say. If I had listened to this CD or that CD that is about somebody’s experience which when the experience doesn’t match up with what the Bible teaches and we have to reject the experience and I think that’s what’s happening. All right. I have two questions. Is it possible that Judas can be the Antichrist or is it possible that he can be the false prophet? I heard a guy, he was trying to teach a lesson on that and he was a fan that it was a possibility that he could be the Antichrist really but I can see that he might get fit in as a post-profit and I’m a hang up and listen to you all fair.
I personally don’t believe either one. I’ve heard preachers speculate that Judas is called the son of perdition and so is also the Antichrist. So I think they make that connection there but I don’t believe that I think Judas died He’s not coming back and I think the Antichrist will be some other individual that Satan will empower. And the true witnesses, the two of Revelation 11 are Moses and Elijah. Those are God’s prophets from the Old Testament coming back to crank up the witnessing process once the rapture has happened.
And obviously the 144,000 Jewish men that will be witnesses will get saved. And then also Revelation 7, 9 talks about a great multitude of all nations and kindreds and tongues that will be saved as a result of their evangelism. And so, lots of people are going to get saved after the rapture. But there will be an antichrist and a false prophet to men that Satan will involve Adam Power, and they are described in Revelation 13. 1, in verses 1 through 10, it describes the Antichrist, then verses 11 to the end, describe the false prophet, to false men who will be empowered by Satan, very powerful men, and will deceive a great portion of the world during the tribulation period after the Rapture.
So thank you for your call and I hope that helped a little bit and we’re now going to go to some off-air questions we have Alice in Tarpon Springs calling in and leaving this question off air. She’s wondering about Matthew chapter 6 and she’s wondering about is this for a person that is saved? Let me read the verses. It’s verse 14 and 15 part of the Lord’s Prayer. If you forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father also will forgive you.
If you will not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. First of all, Alice, only believers have God as their Father. So this prayer is really for believers only. It’s not for an unsafe person. And he’s talking here to those that have become born again. God is not your Father until you have trusted Christ as your Savior. God is your Creator and your His creation, but not until you are born again until you trust Christ does God become your Father and you become his son or daughter.
Then it’s not talking about salvation, but it’s talking about in our personal relationships with others that in the Christian life, if we’re unforgiving, then God is going to have to deal with us as related to that. Of course, the method in which he deals with us is, first of all, chastisement or discipline upon our lives. And then secondly, we’ll be standing to give an account at the judgment of Christ where the degree of reward in heaven or loss of reward in heaven will be brought about based on what we’ve done.
So this is for a a person that is saved but has no bearing on whether they will be saved or already saved or they wouldn’t be able to have God as their Father. The whole prayer is written our Father which art in heaven, how it be thy name. And here it talks about your heavenly Father in verse 14. And again, your Father in verse 15, this verse in the verses you were asking about. So this is a believer that will definitely be held accountable in this We need to be forgiving of others and if we’re not the Lord might have to discipline us and Certainly we can suffer the loss of reward in heaven We are going to the land Florida and we have Charlie on the line and Charlie welcome to Bibleline you’re on the earth Okay, I would like to have all the good to do that.
Okay. Thank you. Mm-hmm. And that was Charlie in the land Florida And he wants me to go to ecclesiastes Chapter 9 and in verse 5 it says the living know that they shall die but the dead not know anything. Neither have they any more a reward for the memory of them has forgotten. What I’m talking about here is that upon death your knowledge of what’s taking place here on the earth you don’t have any you don’t get newspapers there and heaven or in hell and you won’t know what’s happening with your family.
family and your family is going to forget you. It says the memory of you has forgotten. So, after a period of time, you know, when you first die, there’s a funeral service and for a while people go out to the cemetery. But after 10 or 20 years, less and less to people visit the gravesite and less and less to people even remember who you were. So, It’s kind of like a fact of life. The Jehovah’s Witnesses like to use this passage because they like to talk about, and others talk about how the wicked dead will be annihilated and they don’t have any future at all.
And then the Seventh Adventists talk about soul sleep where you’re in the grave and you don’t have any knowledge of anything. But if you read Luke 16, which is the passage you really need to look at where Christ pulls back the curtain on the unseen world. You see there are two men who die, one’s saved, one’s lost, and they have conscious memory, and they are fully aware of what’s going on around them and their circumstances. They have memory of what took place on the earth prior to their death.
The rich man knows he has five brothers that he doesn’t want to go to that place of torment in the heart of the earth where he was. Eventually he will be cast into hell. He wanted his brothers to become saved and so he’s very interested in Evangelism and so Charlie I hope that helps us really talking about From this perspective of this world once a person dies The person who’s died is generally forgotten pretty soon and the person who’s dead doesn’t have any knowledge What’s taking place back here on the earth with his family or in his town and so on and so on?
We have a first time caller from our go Florida. We have Michael on the line here and Michael welcome to Bibleline your on the air. Hi, how are you doing today? Good. Listen, I was wanting to know how you find out what your will is or what God’s will is for your life. I mean, is this something that you just, just seems to work out or are all created for a certain reason? How do you find that reason? Well, first of all, there are certain things that are spelled out in God’s word.
He wants everyone to become saved, and he wants you as a saved person to serve him. He says in John 1516 that we have all, as believers, been chosen to go and bring forth fruit. So we ought to be living for Christ. And as we get into the Bible and begin to apply it, God can then direct your life. just always think of a child. You know, they get in a car out of your driveway and they pretend they’re driving and you hear them go, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, and then they turn, but they don’t go anywhere.
And, but once the car is taken out of park and it begins to roll, even the child can begin to steer, they might crash it into the house or tree, but they could, they could steer it. And basically, once you, as a Christian, get moving in the direction with as much light as you have, starting to do what God wants you to do as you see it in the scripture, then God can steer you. And I love that story back in Genesis where Abraham sent out his eldest servant, Eliezer, to a foreign land to get us a bride for his son Isaac.
And he gave that classic statement. He says, I being in the way, the Lord led me. So he was doing what he knew to do. He went to the land where he was told to go and he was seeking for that bride and so on and the Lord led him right to the girl. And of course he brought that girl back and Isaac got a real excited marriage and you know the story. But I think that’s really a key to discovering God’s will.
I remember for myself I never had a clue that I’d never be doing what I’m doing today. But when I dedicated my life, I said, Lord, I know I’m supposed to witness the people, so I’m going to dedicate my life to tell others about you all the rest of my days. I knew that would be God’s will. And so I began to witness in my dorm at the University of Florida. And then that developed into a Bible study because these guys came to me and said, you know, you need to teach us the Bible.
I said, I don’t know anything about the Bible. I just know how to be saved. So anyway they talked me into it and then I started a Bible study that grew out of the dorm into a professor’s home and you know as time went along I had about Eight guys before I graduated went off into full time Christian work and I said wow something’s something’s happening here I was a little bit embarrassed because here I was still still headed toward a secular degree or career rather and But the Lord began to speak to me and I said well, I think Lord you’re telling me you want me to do this full time And so I went off into study for ministry, but most everything I’ve done It’s been almost something that God has forced me or pushed me into doing while I was involved in doing what
I knew to do, got open the door or shut a door or you know just led my life in the direction that I’m into what I’m doing right now. Okay. And so I think that’s basically it. I think there are things that are clearly spelled out that are wrong. That’s not God’s will. There are things in the Bible that are clearly spelled out that are His will that we can see that these are things He wants us to do.
He wants you to pray. He wants you to read your Bible. He wants you to fellowship with other Christians when they come together. He wants you to bring the message to lost people. He wants you to give of your time and your talents and your finances. Minuses. Minuses. Right to the Lord, your treasures. Right. And so you do what you know that is right. And then it says in John 7 or 17, it’s another favorite one. It says, he that will to do his will shall know whether it’s true or not or whether it’s of God.
So God is going to direct the person who is willing to do whatever God wants him to do. If you’re just sitting there saying, God show me your will and then I’ll decide what I’m going to do it or not, you’re probably never going to find out God’s will. But if you’re willing to do as well and you start where you are doing what you know to do that is as well at this moment, he’ll open your understanding to more and he’ll guide your steps in.
He’ll in a sense take over the steering wheel and drive you a car. you get it rolling get it out of park get moving yeah i’ve done a lot of that i was thinking more specifically as far as like work i’ve always been in manufacturing or fabrication and and welding and things like that things that seem to be more of the world then uh… helping people and i didn’t know if maybe some of the conflict and and uh… pressures like a munder in that environment uh…
was god and i could be somewhere else maybe What are you doing in the church or doing something like that? Well I think the Lord puts those thoughts in your head but I think you have to just wait it all out. You know you can be a wonderful missionary in your work area. You know those people and you kind of have a feel for where they are and where they’re going and I Krug wherever we are in life that’s where God wants to use us.
and at the University and wherever I’ve been, whatever environment I was, I found that I can be used. That was in the hospital last year and we made it a real evangelistic room. We had nurses and doctors coming in and leading them to Christ and we had turned the hospital into a place of evangelism. And they all just said they were starting to see me go. They said I brought a lot of life and excitement to the hospital while I was in there.
Okay, so just wherever you are God will direct you though if you just you know use your let yourself be used wherever you are That’s okay.
