And when I was in Israel in March, I met a wonderful group of people from Nigeria. We were giving out tracks and we invited them over to our hotel for our evening Bible study. And about 30 or 40 of them came over and one of them stood up and said, I listened to the Bibleline on the internet from Nigeria. I thought to myself, what are the chances of this happening? It was really quite a blessing. And then two days later in Jerusalem we met another group of Nigerians from northern Nigeria.
The other fellow was from southern Nigeria and four or five pastors recognized me and said they were We’re watching and listening to Bibleline in upper Nigeria. So I guess we’re coast to coast in Nigeria and people watching it on the internet. Isn’t that exciting? We are really blessed as we see people around the world. Touching our programs, we had a family in Germany listening and watching the morning worship service live. We know that there are many who watch it live and we know from Sweden, from England, from now Germany and of course all over the United States.
And during the week many, many, many more go back and catch those worship services again and again. So you can do that and we’re excited about the many thousands of hits that we have. We probably have, I understand, if I have the figures right, 700 people a month just watch that seven minute video at the beginning of our website. That is 700 people who hear the Gospel presented in seven minutes and a lot of people have taken that and added it to their websites.
And you can do that too. There’s instructions there. If you’d like to take it, no charge. We want people to get saved and a lot of people have that link right there on their website so they can go watch that seven minute video on how to be saved. You can do that too. In any case, this is the month of June. This is our last day. Tomorrow will be the 30th, but this is Friday. If you want to help us for the month of June, you could call our operators and find out how to do that.
We are listeners supported. If you’d like to help us come out of June okay on our feet, you could send a gift into Bibleline or you could give a gift by credit card over the phone. Call our operators. They’ll be glad to send you an envelope with our address printed on it. You could also call in and give a gift by credit card over the telephone. In any case, Sunday will be July 1st and guess what? at Calvary Community in Tampa, Florida, where I pastor, we’re going to celebrate July 4th in July 1st.
That’s right. So this will be a celebration of the holiday, of the anniversary of our nation’s birth. We’ll be having a big picnic afterward. Our mental grill hot dogs and hamburgers and we’ll have all the things that you’d expect at a picnic and we’ll have, of course, apple pie, hot dogs and apple pie associated with America’s birthday. So you’re welcome to come if you’re in driving. This is come and join my 915 adult study and then stay for the 1030 worship and then be my guest at the picnic or come for any part of that.

As soon as I begin the message the audio and the video will come up and you’ll be able to watch live our worship service from anywhere in the world.
Thank you in advance for calling in. We’re going to talk about the Bible for a little bit and then we’ll take our callers. We should have our phone lines maybe restored by Monday. We had a piece of equipment I think they got, hit by a lightning storm the other night. But in any case, pray for our Bible and programs. This is Friday and we hope you’ll attend church somewhere this Sunday. And if you don’t have a church, you’re welcome to come and visit us if you’re in driving distance or watch our service on the internet from wherever you might be.
I want to turn to a very interesting passage and this is in John 18. Do you have your Bible handy? John 18. You’ll find this is of course the night of the betrayal. The scene is the Garden of Gethsemane and we were there in March and some of the olive trees there are over 2000 years old. It really could be that we were standing next to a tree where Jesus may be knelt or prayed or where his disciples were even that night of betrayal.
Kind of fascinating to think about. And of course, Gethsemane means olive press. This is of course a beautiful mountain called the Mount of Olives because of the many olive trees all over the mountain. But this is where the olives would be gathered and brought to be pressed to get that precious oil out. So Gethsemane is really a word that means olive press and the olives were brought from all over the mountain to this area right there at the bottom of the mountain and that’s where Jesus and his disciples often gathered and that’s where they prayed and that’s where they were the night of the betrayal.
I’m going to read from John 18 in verse 1 where it says, when Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the Brook Kidron. The Brook Kidron flows in the Kidron Valley, which is the valley that separates the Mount of Olives from the Mount Nepal, which Jerusalem has built, Mount Moriah. Where he entered a garden, or where was a garden into which he entered, and his disciples of Christ, here crosses over from the Jerusalem side over to the Mount of Allah side across the book Kidron into this garden called Gethsemane where the alums were pressed there from the many olive trees on the Mount of Allah.
Verse 2 says, and Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place for Jesus These oftentimes resorted to their with his disciples. Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, come a thither with lanterns and torches and weapons. Jesus, therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth and sent into them whom seek ye. That always was fascinating to me, because as a little boy I had the picture of Jesus being a weakling, a Mr.
Milk Toast, a coward, and my picture was, the night of the trail was that Christ ran and hid behind the biggest tree he could find as the soldiers came to get him. That’s not what the Bible says. The Bible says that he noticed, went forth, and he addresses these soldiers that Judas brought and says, whom’s he? Who are you looking for? But he wasn’t hiding, he went right out and of course it says here, he knew all things that should come upon him.
So he wasn’t caught by surprise. You know the crucifixion was pre-planned the Bible says before the foundation of the world because God so loved the world he gave his only begotten son. The do so ever, believeth or trustth in him, should not perish but have everlasting life. Verse 5 then. He said, Jesus of Nazareth, Jesus of the name of Jesus, I am He. If you have the King James Bible in front of you, you’ll notice the word He is in italics.
Now italicized words are not in the original manuscripts. I had this backward. I was used to in my high school textbooks and in my college textbooks italicized words being italicized. I had a high school textbook. I had a high school textbook. I had a high school textbook. I had a high school textbook. emphasize for emphasis, they were important. And so I put a lot of focus on the italicized words until I learned that the italicized words in the Bible are really added and they’re not in the original.
And so therefore, generally, here’s the rule I give people, read a verse without the italicized word if it makes good sense without it, leave it out. Well, certainly it should not have been added here because Jesus is saying, I am. And by the way, that is the name that God uses when he appears to Moses at the burning bush. If you had Exodus chapter 3 when God speaks to Moses out of the burning bush, God tells Moses that his name is I am.
And so what Jesus is claiming here in this passage is that he is the very God of Moses, the God that told Moses that he was the God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob. So here’s the God of the universe, the God of creation, the God who made this world in which we live in, he was actually standing there before them here in the Garden of Gethsemane and he says unto them, I am. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with him.
And look at verse 6, and as soon as he had said unto them, I am. They went backward and fell to the ground. Wow, they all went down on their backsides. That had to be terribly embarrassing. Here are fighting men, trained men with their weapons and their torches and their swords and their lanterns. As soon as Jesus speaks his own name at the power of the name of Jesus, we find that all these men go right down to the ground.
They fall backward and they fall on their backsides and they’re laying there on the ground. But it’s interesting, again Jesus is the aggressor here, Jesus says in verse 7, then asked Him again, whom seek ye? And I believe I’m going to add my own little, especially here, it says they said in him, and I believe this time they were kind of shook up and he probably said, Jesus is a as a result of the Azizah of the earth. They probably stuttered in everything else because he just blew a whole small army on their back sides by just calling his name out.
And so we find here in verse 8, Jesus answered, and said, I have told you that I am. If, therefore, you seek me, let these go their way. It’s interesting here what man, under these circumstances, lays down the terms of his surrender. Jesus said, look, I’ll let you take me. I’ll let you take me. If you will let my disciples go. They apparently said, okay, whatever you say, is it interesting that the power here is in the hand of Jesus?
He gave his life. That’s right. There was no army that could take Jesus. He could have destroyed the world as he He said in another place he could have called twelve legions of angels. You know a legion in the Roman army was around two thousand soldiers and so that would have meant two twelve legions that have been twenty four thousand angels. Always remember that song that I would hear sung. He could have called ten thousand angels. The hymn writer I guess put ten thousand because it probably fit the music better but actually It had been 24,000, but can you imagine?
Back in first Kings we read that one angel killed 185,000 of the Assyrian army, all by himself one angel. If one angel could kill 185,000 of the enemy, can you imagine what 24,000 angels could have done? And of course, again, Jesus is God. He’s claiming that he’s God. He’s using the very title. I am. And certainly, He could of himself without the angels help at all destroyed the world. Well Jesus has got. I think we have something else very interesting here and I have people asking a time, what about this experience of being slain in the spirit?
People fall backward and fall on the ground. You know I think, listen here’s mine, here’s what I think about that. I think that’s a tip off that these people are not saved. That’s right. If you look in the Bible for that type of experience, here you have it. And all these people that fell here were not believers. Notice this is the grand band of soldiers that came. And they were not believers. And also Judas, by the way, was among them.
And he was not a believer. Did you know that? John chapter 6 verse 64 says that Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not and who should betray him. Talk about Judas being an unbeliever. Christ knew that. that from the get-go he was never surprised by the fact that Jews would betray him nor the fact that he was an unbeliever. Jesus went to hell because he never ever trusted Christ as his Savior. Wow. Isn’t that amazing?
And so we find here that when he called out his name they fell backward to the ground and here’s your slain in the spirit experience and guess what? They’re all unsaved. I really think that these people that are slain in the Spirit today are unknowingly telling you and me that they’re not even saved. Had a lady that makes sense that everybody went down to her church including her pastor. I said, well it probably is because nobody in your church is saved, not even the pastor.
She said, wow. I said, show me an example of save people being slain. You don’t. You find in the Bible, it’s unsaved people who go down. That’s right. We’re told to stand, not to fall. I love where it tells us in 1 Corinthians 1558, therefore my beloved brother must steadfast, unmovable. We are to be standing fast and not falling down. I think this falling down experience is not of God at all and is a counterfeit. But it’s interesting, it’s in the passage here.
These are unsaved people, they fall backwards and I see people falling backwards today and I think God is letting us know in a subtle way if you are a careful student of your Bible, these people don’t even know the Lord. You know, those generally all believe you can lose your salvation. If you believe you can lose your salvation, you really are trusting in your works. You are saying that how you live your life till the completion determines whether you make heaven or not, that works.
And they are not even saved and they don’t even know it. And here they are the ones that fall out. Anyway, that’s my opinion. I am Dr. Anglins from this Bible. I’d love to hear from you today. We have Adam in Denver, Colorado. We are going to take him in just a second. Let me give you the phone number 1-800-576-3771. Adam in Denver, Colorado, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Yes, sir, Adam. Hi, how are you? Very big fan of your show and you have a word of God and I appreciate that.
I just had a couple questions for you. I have two questions that are actually not related to each other. the first one, but you could help me understand Genesis 1, verse 26, if you could explain that verse to me, help me understand that a little more. And it’s the part where it says, let us and make manning our image after our likeness. It kind of sounds like it’s more than one God up there, you know, when he says that.
Maybe if you could explain that to me. I know there’s only one God, but- I’ll be happy to. Yeah. And there was a second question. The second question is I have an aunt that is she is in with the way international and maybe if you can give me some tips on how to maybe talk to her about that because it’s very cold that she’s there. Yes, it is. All right. Well, Adam, I’m going to go and take a look at Genesis 126 with you.
Adam is calling in from Denver, Colorado and Genesis 126, let us make man in our image. the Hebrew words here are all plural. And the same as the word God there, which is from the Hebrew word Elohim, the I am ending, let you know in English that this is a plural form of the word God. So by the way, plural in Hebrew is not two or more, but three or more. In Hebrew you have words that are singular, meaning only one.
You have words that are dualed mean two, and then you begin with plurality, and words that are plural are three or more, and this obviously is talking about the Godhead, God the eternal Father, God the eternal Spirit, God the eternal Son, all three working in concert together as one God create man. It says, let us create God rather man in our image after our likeness. So we have one God, and he eternally exists as three. He says, I believe that is the answer.
The word Elohim occurs over 2500 times. And in every case, I found this fascinating because Jewish people don’t connect to dots. And they try to say sometimes that we believe in many gods, whereas they are monotheistic, believing only in one God. And obviously they don’t recognize that the Bible teaches that God exists as a unity consisting of three eternal persons. You know, when they recite the Shama, every time they are in synagogue, they say, hero, hero Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord.
When they say that, the word one there in the Shama is a cod. And a cod in the Hebrew means a composite one. The same word is used when Adam and Eve were married in the garden. The two became a cod, or they became one, a composite unity. There were still two people, but they became one family. When the spies that were sent out into the promised land by Moses, two of them came back with a good report, and they brought back a huge cluster of grapes that was so large.
They had to suspend it on a pole over their shoulders. And guess what? They call that one cluster a cod. It was a composite unity. It was composed of perhaps thousands of grapes that made up one cluster, a cod. And so it is that word that is used of God himself, that he is a cod or a composite unity. We definitely have the Bible telling us that we have a God who eternally exists as three separate eternal persons. I don’t say that you’re able to understand that or that I can fully but we have the Bible declared and we therefore believe it.
By the way the cult called the way was founded by a man named Paul Wireville and they definitely are false. They denied the deity of Christ. That is the major, major point. And if you read through the book of Acts of course the early name of the Christians was those of that way or the way. And Christ said in John 14, 6, I am the way, the truth and the life and no man cometh unto the Father but by me.
They took their name from that, but they are definitely false and they reject the deed of Christ and they have many other doctrines that we could not accept. I think it’s tough to reach cult members, but you have to chip away, Adam, just a little bit at a time using scripture and I think I would go right for the main issue, the deed he has Christ. I would point out even the passage we covered today where Jesus there in the Garden of Gethsemane declares his name I Am and they fell backward.
He is declaring that he is God. In John 824, Jesus said, if you believe not that I am, if you don’t believe that, you shall die in your sins. So in other words, the people of the way movement will actually die accountable for their sins and wind up in hell unless they recognize the deity of Christ and trust Him as their Savior. Adam, I want to thank you for calling in today. Thank you so much. Thank you, Dr. Thank you very much.
You have a great day. And that was great. They have a caller from Denver, Colorado. We have a lot of offer questions. We’re going to try to get to some of these off air Benjamin. clear water calls and leaves this question. Explain how Peter was saved but not converted. You see the word converted is not really used of salvation except in just very few places where the word converted is then defined and limited to just simple childlike faith as being required for salvation.
But Peter didn’t really get changed. He was obviously in a state of denial the night of the betrayal as Peter betrayed Christ three times before the cock crew and he cursed and used profanity. He says, I don’t know the blankity of blank men. I can’t imagine what words he used, but they were probably some of the fishermen back where he had and he probably cursed and swore like a sailor. And he cursed and said, I don’t know Jesus. Guess what?
Jesus prayed for him and Luke we read it yesterday where in Luke 22 32 Jesus said I pray for the that I faith failed not and when thou art converted when thou art converted so he wasn’t converted yet that was the night of the betrayal and it wasn’t until after the resurrection till Pentecost that Peter stands up boldly before the very leaders of Israel and accuses them of killing Christ but that Jesus came back from the dead and that they needed to trust Christ or there would be eternally lost.
So Peter was saved and the same was true for me. I got saved, but it was not a year. Tell a year later that I got converted. I didn’t really dedicate my life and choose to serve the Lord and let my life change until a year after I was saved. It has nothing to do with your salvation. It has to do with rewards and blessings in the Christian life. And if you’re a believer, you also need to become converted.
So when people ask me, Hank, when were you converted? I usually tell them about a year after I got saved, I was converted, and it usually causes mouths to drop open and eyes to get wide. But I love to use the opportunity to explain. I got saved by trusting Christ. And then I became converted when I chose to serve Christ. So you’re saved not by what you do for Christ but what he does for you. And after you’re saved you ought to choose to live for Christ.
for the blessings and rewards come in. I’m Dr. Englund, this is Bibleline, it’s Friday. If you’d like to help Bibleline as we close up the month, this is the last weekday of the month, you can send a gift to Bibleline and help us out. Would you do that? And this is the end of the month of June. And we’re going to be celebrating Sunday here at the Church High Pastor, Calvary Community Church. We’re going to be celebrating the July 4th on July 1st. And by the way, this month of June is when we celebrate the 42nd anniversary of Calvary Community Church.
It’s hard to believe I’ve been the pastor here at the same church for 42 years. We incorporated in June of 1966 and here we are 42 years later, hard to believe. But in any case, or 41 years later, it was 66 and this is 2007, 41 years ago. In any case, we’re going to be able to be with you and we know that it’s you, the listeners that keep us on the air. Without your help, we couldn’t be here.
We don’t have a piggy bank, we don’t have a reserve account, we don’t have subscribers, we don’t have pledges, we don’t have anybody underwriting the program. We really feel naked and open before God and that we don’t have any visible means of support. We have to just say, Lord, if you want us on the air, we need to have you support. And guess what? He has used people just like you who listen and enjoy this program and that want to see it continue for yourselves and for others That send in the money that keep us going You could be a part of that be a part of our Bible and family and we hope that you will if you can’t give anything We love you just as much pray for us, please We know that God answers prayer But if you could give a gift and this is the last day or tomorrow is really where you could give a gift this month
of June and that would help us come out of June on our feet and we would love to have your help. Just call the 1-800-Number and you can ask for an envelope to be sent to you with our address on it. You can also give a gift by credit card over the phone and you can get a resource sheet sent to you as well so you can get some of the resources from our resource center. But I want to thank you in advance.
God bless all of you who give the Bibleline and keep us on the air. Sometimes God makes us wait right till the last second, but somehow we’re able to be on the air again today because of people just like you. Pray forth, and I hope you have a great weekend, and I hope you’ll come by if you’re in the area and join the service, but if not on the Internet, you can catch our worship service either live at Sunday morning at 11, or you can go back during the week and catch it later.
We hope you will. We’re going to rejoin stations that have been on break. We’re going to do the second half hour Bibleline. So keep your radio right close to you. Don’t let it get away. And if you don’t have the second half hour on your station, go to the internet, BibleLineMinistries.org. And you’ll get the second half. On the Internet. Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771.
Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back from that break and this is Bibleline and it’s great to be with you on this Friday and this is the last Friday in the month of June and we are whining this month. month down and we’ll crank up a new month and this Sunday will be July 1st and we’re going to celebrate our nation’s birthday. This Sunday, July 4th will be celebrated on July 1st. We’re going to have a wonderful picnic in the back of our property right after the service.
We have a lovely area at the end of our property behind our buildings where there’s oak trees or shade, there’s picnic tables. It’s right there behind. We have a bridge across our retention pond with a gazebo in the middle of it. You’ll cross the bridge over what we tease in kid and call Lake Calvary. It’s not really a lake, it’s just a retention pond. But back behind that is all this open space with trees and shade and picnic tables.
And we’re going to have a wonderful July 4 celebration. We invite you to come by and be a part of that. Our men will be grilling hot bugs and hamburgers and we’ll have baked beans and potatoes the South and Coleslaw and Apple Pie and it will be a family event. We hope you will come. If you can, you can join our service on the internet and we hope that you will take advantage of that. By the way, we are ending up the month of June so that we can come out with our feet firmly planted and okay financially.
We could use your help to finish out the month. Would you call in and maybe get an envelope sent to you with our address on it or would you call in and use your credit card and give a gift to Bible and help us come out okay for this month. We are totally dependent upon our listeners. We have no other way of being supported. We don’t have a piggy bank, a reserve account. We don’t have pledges or subscribers. We don’t have anybody really underwriting the show.
We have no promise of a dime beyond today. And we just trust God and He supplies through people just like you. Thank God for a God who supplies. He uses people like you. I think he wants to bless us all. And as we pull our resources together and pull off this program, it really brings honor to the name of Christ. And he’s the one that gets all the glory because really he’s the one who supplies through people like you.
I love Philippians 4.17. It’s a favor to mine. It really caught my attention early on. And I thank God I found it. It says, Paul says to the people at Philippi. He says, I’m really not trying to get your money. He says, I’m not trying to get a gift here. He says, but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. So basically, as you give to, like in those days, the Paul’s ministry, the fruit that he was getting as a result of his ministry would accrue to your account as well in the heaven.
Can you imagine linking up with Paul Getting the same rewards that Paul will get one day alongside of him because you partnered with Paul and And gave gifts to support that ministry well I think the thing is same as true of Bibleline God is blessing his word and that’s what we try to focus on we try to Obviously exalt his word and and use his word throughout the program giving people answers from the Bible not not my answers or not some denominational viewpoint, but what the word of God has to say.
And God blesses His word, and we’re excited. We meet people all the time that get saved through Bibleline, that are growing and serving and living for Christ as a result of Bibleline. It’s wonderful. So call our 800 number and help us out. This is the last Friday, at least in the month you could still call in tomorrow, but or send a gift and help us come out of June. Okay. are usually lean in ministry and that’s when people get busy with their summer vacations and other plans and we kind of get forgotten.
Would you help us, maybe help us a little bit extra to help make up for the laws in other areas? But this is summer time and we hope that you’ll really stand with us over the summer and keep us going. In any case, we’re going to return back to the phone lines here. We are still having some problems. Our equipment is being repaired as we speak, but we have a couple of lines that are still open, but we’ve lost a lot of our lines because I think.
We have to get that repaired and those are additional expenses that come along to Bibleline. We welcome our new listeners up in the Jacksonville area and the northeast corner of the state of Florida. We’re on to YMM 1530 up in that area. If you have friends and relatives up there, would you tell them? I hope you will. We’re hearing all the time a friend yesterday call me and say, We’re hearing all the time a friend yesterday called me and said a pastor friend of his and Jack Swell is listening now.
And so whoever you might be, maybe you’re listening right now and God bless all of you that are listening to my blind in the northeast corner of Florida and up into Georgia. The station is powerful. So it reaches a lot of southern Georgia and all over the northeast corner of the state. We’re going to go to Yvette in Tampa, Florida. She’s on the line holding patiently. an event. Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Thank you. Good morning. Good morning.
I just wanted to clarify that the comments that were made about being slayed in the spirit and not being saved. Is that what you said? That’s what I believe. I at least attend all those meetings and I saw people go down and convulse and foam at the mouth and have to be covered with blankets and I saw them have to hold her head so that it impasse their brains out on the concrete floor. And I really didn’t believe that God was involved in that at all.
And then I began to notice in the scripture that whenever I see people so-called falling backward it was unsafe people. Okay, well, I don’t know about falling in the mouth, but I just want to let you know that I get slain in the spirit at times when they pray upon me. I am saved and I do believe in Jesus Christ and He is my Lord and Savior. Do you believe you can lose your salvation? No. You can’t lose it.
No. No matter what. No. Well good for you. I just wanted to clarify that and to not there are people out there who are saved that are doing it. Well again I think it’s a false practice but thank you for letting me know that. generally the most majority of those who do that believe in that you can lose your salvation. But you know it’s interesting that when you read about people falling down it is in the Bible at least, unsaid people doing that.
You know when you read about the Holy Spirit coming into a person the Bible says in Timothy 2 Timothy is a beautiful verse about what to look for if you really have the Holy Spirit working within you, it says God has not given us the spirit of fear. First, this is Second Timothy 1-7, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. In other words, when you lose control of your body and you’ve lost control of what’s going on in your mind, that’s not the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit gives you a sound mind. Those who have, and you read that And there’s an example in Luke 8, for example. Here’s a man who is not in his right man because he has demons in him. And we find that the demons cry out of this man to Christ when Jesus comes near him. And the demons say, and I think this is in Luke 8, and it says here that the demons cried out of this man and let’s see what verse it’s in.
It says verse 28, when he saw Jesus, he cried out and then it says, fell down. Here’s that falling down again and said with a lot of voice, what have I to do with e.g., as though son of God most high, I beseech the torment me not. And that’s of course the demons that were talking out of him and they thought that Christ was going to come early for them and cast them into the pit and eventually into hell where they’d be tormented and the demons were crying out.
In any case, prior to this, the man was not in his right mind, but later in verse 35, after the demon had been cast out by Christ, they went out to see what was done in came to Jesus and found the man out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind. Now notice prior to his salvation he fell down and here we find that after he gets saved he’s sitting and he’s in his right mind.
The meanings that I used to attend as a young believer many years ago people were falling down all over the place. But here the Bible seems to imply that when you got the Holy Spirit in you you’re sitting And you’re in your right mind. And you’re not. Thank you, Vett, and I really believe that if you compare your experiences with the Bible, you’ll find really God will let you know what is of Him and what is not. And I think that the modern day movement today, that’s not only being slain in the Spirit, but I’ve seen video of people getting so-called stuck in the Spirit.
And I have hours of video-making. hours of video that people sent me on that and then people becoming animals in the spirit. I guess that’s the experience that comes out of Canada and where they bark and they they flap their wings and they run around the auditorium and and I really don’t believe any of that is of the Holy Spirit or of God. We have John in Chesterville, Virginia and John, welcome to Bibleline your own here. Yes, Dr. Hank.
Yes, sir. I want to ask you a question about any book of revelations you got about Bible handling. I have it right there. Okay. 20th chapter, 8th verse. It says, God can go. Who is God at my dog? Well, God can make a dog. It really means the prince and his land. And I think this is talking here about Satan. And this is the final battle, the final opportunity that Satan has. He rounds up all the unsaved on the earth and they come up in one final battle against Christ.
There’s another battle with the same title back in Ezekiel 38, which I believe is Armageddon. So one occurs before the thousand year reign of Christ, and the other one occurs at the end of the thousand year reign of Christ. And here it says in verse 7, when the thousand years are expired, Satan is loosed out of his prison. He’s been bound for the thousand year reign of Christ, and he goes out and deceives the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth.
He brings this army up against Jerusalem and of course Christ is ruling for Jerusalem and Christ overthrows Satan and cast him in verse 10 into hell where he’ll be forever But this is the battle of Satan who has been called the prince of this world Who will now in one last attempt try to overthrow Christ and he’s defeated? And then in 13 and say that and the sea gave up their dead which were in it and death and hell delivered up to death.
Does that mean when some people die they go to hell right away? No, this is talking about after, if you read verse 11, it says that the heavens and ears fled away and you see this white throne that God is sitting upon and then you have this judgment called the Great White Throne Judgment because of the Great White Throne of verse 11. the unsafe that are brought up out of Hades their judge according to their works that is so that they can be assigned a degree of punishment and help on their and then their cast in hell so really there’s nobody in hell yet they’re in Hades if you have a reference bible the word hell there is Hades and the people are brought up out of Hades death refers to their body they’ll get a resurrection body and uh…
and Hades refers to their soul So the soul and body, the lost will be reunited, soul and body. Judge according to their works, assign the degree of punishment and hell and cast into the lake of fire, which is the final help. Oh, okay. Well, I can’t wait to get that resurrection body and live with Jesus Christ. Can you? No, I can’t. It’s going to be wonderful. I think times are getting short. I agree with you 100%. God bless you and have a good day.
You too, now. Thankpotion and Chester Field, Virginia calling in here. We’re excited to be live on the air at the same time as we are here in Tampa in Chesterfield. So many other stations we are live at the time. Some stations carry us at a different time of day, but it’s great to be able to be on the air and welcome to all of our listeners. The phone number here if you want to dial in is 1-800-576-3771. We have Mr.
Anomas in Dade City, Florida. he’s uh… indeed city right now they are welcome mister and i was doing that i can tell you’re excited to be able to get on the air with me and i i can’t believe i got a line to well we have blind difficulties today so you are this is a miracle i think that you got through yeah and i don’t think i come in on that way to talk about the people to stay in the spirit and stuff Yeah.
I’ve seen a lot of this go home for years and years and other stuff. I’ve been following Christ over 40 years and I’ve been in all different churches and stuff. And I’ve been down in South Florida back then. Now, I went there calling people out of their congregation and laying hands on them and totally giving them the Holy Ghost and stuff. Me falling down or something like this here. But nobody presented the gospel of plan of salvation to these people and they think because they had this feeling going on that they were talking about and it makes a lot of sense that we got to focus on the purpose of the gospel and decide the one of the stuff that can throw you off and tip me to wake up and get more into Word of God so that they won’t be deceived in their nearly.
Amen, I really believe that. They have an experience and they keep looking back to that experience they had and they think that they’re okay because they had an experience but yet they never really are presented. As you said, the Gospel of Christ, the death, the burial, the resurrection, the shed blood and are not told that that’s what they have to do to be saved to trust in the finished work of Christ but they rely upon that so-called experience they have.
That’s correct. So I just wanted to add on that. I’m glad you stand in front of that area and stuff. I don’t agree with it, but I would at least add that you were hitting the right area that I would have to be very cautious in that feeling and everything because we walk by faith not by sight. Amen. That’s a feeling. I’m definitely gonna throw you off. Oh, yeah, I don’t know. She did. My good name’s 2507. Hey, you put your cheer on me again, man.
Yes. Yeah, you do. I went home and I put it up on the internet. I listened to a May 20th, Bible, 7, and I called in. I was around a minute, number 20 minutes in there. And I was, you know, me always coming in and asking. But you went. But you weren’t that much. You cut me off, didn’t you? I’m a hand up. Didn’t you? You know what? I couldn’t get back in. But anyway, Mr. Nama’s like, I’m glad we’re in agreement today and we made you a star because everybody looks forward to hearing from you and thanks for calling today.
We have Betty in Beverly Hills Florida. Betty, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yes, good morning, Greta Lynch. Thank you so much for the good Bible study. You know, when I think of the 4th of July and freedom, I like to meditate on this point and that is that freedom is purchased by the shedding of blood. now are young men and women are dying fighting a war and looking to free people. But I think that is, I think on the fact that that is temporary, but I think also the Lord Jesus Christ bringing freedom eternally to us, we who put our trust in Him and it was by the shedding of His precious blood.
And I can’t help but think of that on the 4th of July. Amen. Well, God bless. Thanks for that comment, Betty. And how true that is, Christ of course purchased our freedom from hell to give us the gift of eternal life and sets us free. I just talked to a lady yesterday that has gotten saved through Bible and she says, I just feel so free now that I don’t have this guilt and this fear of going to hell anymore.
I know I’m going to heaven. I’m assured of my salvation. You’re just wonderful to hear her go forward and just praise the Lord for the salvation that she’s received through faith in Christ. And of course, we do thank God for all of our men and women that are fighting for us at this hour and are defending our country. And we need to uphold them in our prayers for sure. Thank you, Betty, and God bless you. And thanks for calling in today.
Rich in Braden in Florida calls in, says, we’re in Scripture. Does it say we can eat anything clean or unclean? I think one of the great passages is in Timothy, chapter 4. Timothy chapter 4. If you have your Bible there, Rich, I know this is an offer question and maybe you have your Bible there but at least write down where it is and take a look at it. But first Timothy chapter 4, the Bible says here in verse 4, for every creature of God is good and nothing to be refused if it be received with thanksgiving for it is sanctified by the Word of God in prayer.
And so basically we can eat anything today. I think we ought to do that in moderation. But the Old Testament law… Dr. K. Dr. K. What was clean and unclean does not apply today, although God gave that for good reason because there are certain foods that can make you sick. We are not to eat fish according to the Old Testament law that don’t have scales, and usually those fishes that don’t have scales are scavengers like catfishes and so on.
And today of course we eat these things, I don’t think in moderation, but a lot of We can’t v- The catfish you eat in a restaurant now are farmed and therefore they don’t have the health process because they’re not eating, you know, scavenging on the bottom of some contaminated river. But you need to be careful that you don’t eat too much of the things that are forbidden, but we can eat anything today. The passage I like is 1 Timothy 4 and verse 4 and 5 in particular where it says in verse as well that some people command you to abstain from meeting meets which God has created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
So if you believe and know the truth you could eat anything today. And I don’t eat too much of the exotic stuff. But think if you eat some of those things in moderation you’ll be fine. Thank you Rich. We now have Sean in Lansing, Michigan calling in today and leaving an off-air question. He says, is it possible for Jesus to be God? And the answer is, absolutely. He is God. And that’s the claim. If you heard the beginning of the program, Jesus said in John 18, when asked by the soldiers that came to arrest him, they asked, he says, who do you seek?
And they said, Jesus of Nazareth and Jesus used his divine name. I AM and the whole army, small group of soldiers, fell right down on their back sides at the power of his name. In John 824, Jesus said, if you believe not that I AM, that’s the name that God used at the burning bush when he had spoke to Moses and he told Moses, my name is I AM. And really it tells us that God is self-existent and eternally existent and whenever he appears in time, he’s in the present tense.
God never says I was, or I shall be, or I want to be. God says I am. He exists outside of time and intercepts time whenever he dies in the present tense. And so this is the eternal God. And Jesus in John 1 says in the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, the Word was God. Verse 14 of John 1 says that the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. And we beheld as glory. John says, we beheld the glory of God.
God in flesh, the Word made flesh. That’s what happened at Christmas. Jesus is God. Also, second question here, is it possible for God to be Jesus or Jehovah W. Jesus well, please break down the name of Jesus well Jehovah is the pronunciation of God’s name from the Old Testament, which is really for consonants that nobody knows how to pronounce YHWH and in 1611 they put three three vowel sounds in between the vowel sounds that they took out of the word adenoi, which is a Hebrew word for God, and they made it yahovah, and there is no J sound in the Hebrew.
So that became pronounced as Jehovah. Later, a newer group of scholars rather recently came along and put two vowel sounds that had made it two syllables, Y-A-H-N-W-E-H, and That’s pronounced Yahweh. How many have heard of that? Most of you are raising your hands right now. I can see. So that is that pronunciation. Now the word Yasha, Y-A-S-H-A means salvation. And Yahweh connected with salvation, Yasha, the contraction is Yeshua. And Yeshua occurs over 130 times in the Bible and in the Old Testament that is.
In the English equivalent is Jesus. So that’s it. is God who saves and to be saved you must believe on his name that Jesus is God. We have Greg in Wesley Tampa, Florida and Greg welcome to Bible your Bible. I got a question for you earlier you was talking about when Jesus approached the man who has possessed with the demons called Legion. Yes. And you said that they asked not to send him out into the abyss early or out into Albert Dartmouth.
Where did you get that they knew that he had came early. Well, he’s basically saying, are you coming to torment us and that would have been early. The demons really aren’t going to be tormented until the millennial kingdom, when they’ll be put in the pit and the heart of the earth. And then also when they are finally cast in at the Great White Throne Judgment into the eternal lake of fire. Right now there are no demons in hell. They are all still roaming around free.
Right. I guess my question was, I thought you kind of implied that the demons actually knew when he was returning when you said that they came early. No, I think that they were just caught off guard. They didn’t expect the same, you know what I mean? Yeah, I understand now. I see what you’re saying. God’s following me along here in the Bible. Well, good. Good for you. All right. Well, I appreciate it. Thank you very much. You’re very welcome and thank you for tuning in.
And we’re at the end of the program. Let me just again invite folks that are in driving this system to come out and celebrate July 4th with us this Sunday. July 1st will celebrate July 4th. I have a 915 adult study you can come to. We have also a 1030 worship service. Then we’re going to have our big picnic and come and be my guest and eat all the hamburgers and not dogs you can possibly eat and join us.
If you can’t come, if you live in another city, join our service by internet. If not live when we do do it whenever you want to during the week. Happy 4th of July and we’ll be back on Monday. Until then, you can go to the internet and hear this program as often as you like. If you’d like to help Bible, send it in quickly to help us out for the month of June. Gotta run, keep looking up. Jesus is coming and I believe very soon.
You’ve been listening to Bibleline. A presentation of Bibleline Ministries of Tampa, Florida. Florida. Your donation to Bibleline makes it possible for this ministry to continue in your area. Well, I’m Dr. Engle instrument and this has been Bibleline today and we had a great month of June with you and I hope you are enjoying all of our programs.
Thanks for tuning in. It really is great to be able to bring the programs to you and I want to thank the people that are responsible. That’s you, the listeners. That’s right. We don’t have any other source of income and it’s our listeners that we thank really for allowing us this privilege to be able to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to as many peoples we can reach until Jesus comes back and we’re trying to reach out there as far as we can.
And we’re extended as far as we can go right now. And if you would like to see us go further and also assure that we’ll be on the air in your area, you can send a gift by mail. You can give a gift by credit card over the phone and all you have to do is call our 800-member-1-800-5763-771. And our operators, if you just tell them you need an envelope, send out. send one right out to your house and now you can send a gift back by mail or you can do it by credit card.
We’re really not trying to get your money but we do want to get on the air as far as we can reach out with the gospel and we’re pretty lean here. We don’t pay any salaries so all the monies go into equipment, equipment repairs, phone bills, the satellite connection and satellite bill. The stations we have to pay for air time on the stations were on. So we really do appreciate that everybody’s help and it’s expensive and we really don’t have the funds to be able to carry out Bibleline.
We couldn’t possibly do it. My church could not support the ministry. It’s much bigger than my church. So we trust our listeners to help us out. We really could use your help and this is a great time to help us to finish out June on our feet. We need your help. You can send a gift or call one in today and that would be wonderful. We hope you have a great weekend and I hope it’s a safe one. And of course this coming week is July 4th and we’re going to celebrate that this Sunday with a big cookout out back in our truth property here and you’re welcome to come.
