Our phone number here is 1-800-576-3771.

That’s 1-800-576-3771. First, we’re going to go to the Bible. If you have your Bible there, turn a few old John’s Gospel chapter 19. Here we have Christ crucified and we believe on Wednesday, not Friday, and 72 hours in between his burial and his resurrection. And we find in Matthew 1240, Jesus said there would be three days and three nights that he would be in the heart of the earth. That’s 72 hours. It’s three periods of light. In John 11, he says, are there not 12 hours in the day?

And there are 12 hours in the night period. The Jewish people count their day from sundown to sundown. And so three days and three nights would literally be equivalent to 72 hours exactly. And what is interesting is I believe it was exactly 72 hours because there are some passages that say Christ was raised on the third day and there are some passages that say He was raised The only way to reconcile that is to say that he rose exactly as the third day ended and as the fourth day began.

Right there on the money. And that would mean since Christ was buried at sundown that if he goes 72 hours he had to be raised at sundown. And by the way, Saturday sundown is really the beginning of Sunday because you see the Jewish people count their night first. So Saturday 6 p.m. is really the beginning of Sunday night. And Christ rose exactly when the third day ended. That would be Saturday at 6 p.m. on Saturday. And at the same moment, He is rising from the dead at the beginning of the fourth day, which was Sunday, no, it was Sunday night at 6 p.m.

Saturday. He believed since Christ has placed the new grave at sundown, that he came out of the grave at sundown. And a lot of people have never heard that before. What happened on Sunday morning? How the people said I thought he was raised on Sunday morning. What happened on Sunday morning was the discovery of what? The empty tomb. They didn’t find Christ. They didn’t see Jesus rise from the dead because he was already risen by twelve hours when they got there in the morning and they discovered the stone rolled away and the tomb was empty.

Christ was done. He had already been risen by twelve hours. It’s interesting how most people miss all of this and they read their Bibles but they don’t pay close attention. So Christ was crucified on Wednesday. He was before Pilate according to chapter 19 here of John at 6 a.m. in the morning. see that in verse 14 of John 19 and that’s when the crowd cried out, away with him, away with him, crucify him, crucify him. And Pilate said unto them, shall I crucify your king?

And the chief priest answered, we have no king but Caesar. Obviously they were lying. But we find here, then Peter rather Pilate delivered him, therefore to be crucified, and they took Jesus and let him away. And that was about six o’clock in the morning. Then by nine o’clock, they nailed him to the cross. At twelve noon, God shut out the lights as the darkness came across the heavens and nobody really saw what transpired the last three hours. And then at three o’clock in the afternoon Christ dies, and he dies to pay for the sins of the world.

After we know then that they had three hours, that’s not a whole lot of time, to get the body down off the cross, to hurriedly prepare it for burial and get it in the grave by sundown, which was the beginning of the Passover, which was Thursday of that week. That would mean that they had to get it in there as the day began at Sundowns, actually the night period first. Passover night came before Passover day. It was Thursday night on Wednesday night.

I don’t know if it gets confusing. I’ll never forget as a little boy. I was raised at Miami, Florida, and I had a paper up. And I had a lot of Jewish clientele. And I had to collect every week for the paper. I had to go around and make my collections. And then I paid my bill to the manager of the paper. And then what I was left over was mine. I learned how to earn a little living there as a six or seventh grader.

But you know when I went to a Jewish home, as I would collect my route usually on Friday, and if I got there after six o’clock, they wouldn’t pay me. That really irritated me, but I didn’t understand the reason why, but they would tell me that it was the Sabbath and they didn’t do monetary transactions on the Sabbath. And so they were sorry that I could come back Saturday after sundown. So I learned the Sabbath was from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown.

And so that really was a helpful thing for me later when I got into the Bible and I realized what was going on here. So Friday night at sundown begins the Sabbath and it ends at Saturday sundown and that’s when Christ rose from the dead exactly as the first day of the week began. And that’s what we have here in this wonderful chapter. So in any case, the scriptures were fulfilled that they didn’t break a bone in his body.

We mentioned that yesterday and also that they would pierce his side. It says here another scripture was fulfilled in verse 37. They shall look on him whom they have pierced the Old Testament told that Christ would be pierced and it literally was fulfilled as the Roman soldier pierced his chest cavity with a spear and all the body fluids poured out upon the ground. Then it says in verse 38 after this Joseph of Armathea being a disciple of Jesus. secretly, for fear of the Jews, be sought Pilate, that he might take away the body of Jesus, and Pilate gave him leave.

He came there for and took the body of Jesus, and there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of burned aloes about a hundred pound weight. And now it says here, they took the body of Jesus and wound it and wound it and wound it. They wound it in linen claws with the spices as the men of Jesus to bury. What is so interesting here is that the shroud of turen can’t be real because it doesn’t meet the biblical description.

They didn’t lay Christ’s body on a big single cloth. It says here they wound him. They wound him. They wound him like a mummy. He took these little narrow linen strips and wrapped the body of Christ like a mummy. It’s interesting that Jesus, when he was born, was wrapped in swaddling clothes. Do you know what swaddling clothes are? Those are those linen strips they used for burial. Why in the world would they do that with a baby? You can imagine that was something unusual.

The Bible said it would be a sign. He would find the baby lying in a manger wrapped in swaddling clothes. I didn’t know that for a long time, but I discovered it on my trips to Israel that was clearly known over there that swaddling clothes were these linen strips. It was a picture that Christ was born to die. Christ would die for you and for me, and perish in debt and full by his death. This baby was destined to die.

He came into the world to die. John the Baptist saw Jesus, he said, behold the Lamb of God which take of the way the sin of the world. He came for the express purpose of dying and paying for our sins. And so here Jesus now is wound. You know by the way the Shroud of Turin is, I read a wonderful article in the Bar magazine, that sounds terrible doesn’t it, Bar for a preacher to read a magazine like that, but stands for Biblical Archaeological Review.

It’s a well respected magazine. They had a wonderful article in there about the Shroud of Curing and they had a forensic scientists do investigative work and he found absolutely no evidence of blood on the shroud. That’s right, no blood. No blood, not one drop of blood on the shroud, which is what is claimed. He found that it was a paint pigment there, the type that they used in the 13th century, where in the 14th century, when the Roman Catholic Church was big into relics.

They had relics everywhere. They had so many pieces of the cross, and all the churches across Europe, that it probably would take all four us to make them. It was much more than if you could put them all together, it would be probably hundreds of crosses. In any case, this was a time of relics. And by the way, they quoted Pope Clement in the 1300s saying, as they wanted to display this shroud of turn, that he said it must be loudly announced that this is a representation.

But even then they knew it wasn’t the real cloth, and the Pope himself said that. So if the pope’s intolerable, and he says that it’s not the true baro cloth, what’s happened since then in Catholicism where they try to say it is. I mean this is the craziness that’s out there. But he says that that was a type of paint that was unique to that time and also helps to identify it. Plus the carbon-14 dating dates it to the 13th or 14th centuries.

And so, but the real conclusive evidence is the fact here that it’s a single cloth. The Bible says here, read it in your Bible for yourself in John 19. It says they took the body of Jesus and they wound it. They wound it. They wound it. They wound it. It had linen clothes with the spices. So what they would do is they would dampen the claws with the spices and ointments and then it would wrap the body and then it would smear more of these spices on it and wrap it again and more and it would really become like a cocoon, like a mummy that you see in the movies.

And they say when this thing hardened up, it became my concrete. Here it talks about 100 pounds of spice and aloes. Then perhaps maybe 40 pounds of cloth. Let’s say Christ weighed 200 pounds. Then 100 pounds of meringue aloe. Maybe 40 pounds of cloth. When this thing finally was all done with the body inside, it weighed about 340 pounds. It wasn’t going to be easy for somebody to steal that body. 340 pounds and it would be hard and stiff and set up like concrete.

It would be very difficult. And so the body of Christ was encased in like a cocoon. And so there’s no shroud of Turin here at all. And it’s amazing how people go off on rabbit trails. And you’ll go back to the evidence in the Bible. Plus, you’ll notice on the shroud of Turin they have all along-haired Jesus. I really believe Christ had short hair. You’ll notice in 1 Corinthians 11-14, it tells us in the Bible that it’s a shame for a man to have long hair.

But for a woman to have long hair, it’s her glory. That’s 1 Corinthians 11-14. Does not even nature itself teach you that it’s a shame for a man to have long hair. I don’t believe Jesus would violate his own scriptures. Jesus is God. He’s the author’s scripture. And he never intended for men to have long hair. Well you say, well, wasn’t he the exception? Wasn’t he the one that had the long hair? No, no, no, no think about this, you know They paid Judas 30 pieces of silver to betray Christ If Jesus and by the way the hairstyle in the time of Christ was short here Rome was in charge of the world The Roman Caesar was the trendset everybody wanted to be like Caesar.

So if you went to the barbershop You would say I think I’ll have the the Caesar cut today and that was off the ears often that short bangs in the front and hair was combed forward that was the popular cut if you look at the statues and i’ve been all over the middle east and i’ve looked at the museums and i’ve looked everywhere and uh… that the statues had short hair i was right and so price was an exception to think about this jesus was paid thirty pieces of solar because jesus looked like everybody else if he was the only guy with long hair could they have said to the soldiers go find the first guy with long hair cuff him, you got him, bringing him in.

But Jesus had to walk over and actually embrace him and kiss him on the cheek to identify him because he looked just like everybody else. That was the style. So all these paintings with Christ’s along here, they’re all wrong. That came out of a dark time in the Renaissance era in Europe where people were wearing long hair, which the Bible said was wrong, but men should not wear long hair. And that’s in 1st Corinthians 1114. But it’s kind of interesting to take a look at these passages.

I’m Dr. Anglinson. This is Bible and we’re going to take our life callers in just a second. And we invite you to call us at 1-800-576-3771. And we thank you for tuning in today. And we’re excited about now getting to talk to you. And we have John in Tampa, Florida. And we’re going to get John up on the air here with us. John, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Yeah, good morning, I think. good boy. Why do some people’s souls in Chernobyl seem to be an angel?

And I’ll hang up and listen. Well, ask that first one again. How did what roam the earth? Some people’s souls. Well souls don’t roam the earth. When you die, John, the soul leaves the body. For the Christian, 2 Corinthians 5, 8, it says, absent from the body, present with the Lord. So there are no souls roaming around. If you die as an unbeliever, your soul immediately goes to the heart of the earth to a place called Hades where it’s in Flame and Forman.

If you read Luke chapter 19, beginning in verse 16, you have a rich man there who dies that says, and immediately he was present in the heart of the earth in Hades in Flame and Forman. At the same time, it was a beggar named Lazarus who was a believer, and he was immediately present in paradise that was in the heart of the earth. Christ died at Calvary and the final full payment for sin had been made. Then he emptied out paradise.

Now paradise is in heaven itself, but souls aren’t roaming all over the earth. That’s for sure. So are you still there, John? No, yeah, because so they have like people who died in houses and their spirits go realms around there. Well, that’s not true. And that’s Satan’s delusion. If you go looking there, you’ll You’ll find that Satan’s angels, the fallen angels, impersonate the dead. And the Bible warns about not going to look for departed dead because what will happen is that Satan will get you hooked.

He’ll have an angel that will… Tried to communicate with you and you’ll think you’re talking about social. Don’t let go to the story. But it’s really not anybody that is roaming around from the dead. So don’t believe the ghost stories? There are demonic activity going on and I think that’s what’s happening in some of those stories but it’s not the souls of those that have died. Okay. What was the second question? How did Satan turn evil if he used to be an angel?

Okay, that’s a good question. And Satan, of course, was Lucifer. He was in charge, I believe, of the whole planet Earth. He got the title God of this world. And he in pride decided he was going to overthrow God. And that’s when sin entered into the universe. And so God created Lucifer and all the angels with a free will to be able to choose the Lord or not, and they chose not, that is Satan and the angels that follow him, and they have now been judged at that event and are assigned to eventually be in hell.

There’s nobody in hell yet, but Satan and his angels are the ones for whom hell was designed, and everybody in the human race that rejects Christ will also wind up in that lake of fire, that Satan gets to be first in the Antichrist and the False Prophet. Then Satan’s Angels, then everybody in the human race will be brought up out of Hades and they’ll also be cast into that eternal lake of fire. That’s in Revelation chapter 20. You find in verse 10, Satan’s cast in, in verse 13, the angels are cast in, verse 14.

You have the unsaved of the human race cast him to help. But the believers are absent from the body present with the Lord, they’re not roaming around the cemetery here. And that’s a good question and thank you for your calling. We now have a caller from Port Charlotte. We have Nancy on the line and Nancy, welcome to Bible Life. Oh, thank you, Pastor Hank. I listen every day. One, well, thank you. Did you hear on the news last night?

First of all, the Koran says that before the Muslims can attack us, they have to warn us. Did you hear on the news last night that an envoy from Syria, Egypt, and I think Saudi Arabia are on their way to Jerusalem to ask Israel to sign a peace treaty, give back That lands from the 1967 war, which includes Jerusalem. And they will, in turn, declare Israel a right to this and a nation. And also what your caller said this week about the three ships, our three ships, and they see there, et cetera, and Syria opening their way and all that, and a minute to have promising award this year.

Anyway, do you think that we possibly are FIM and that FIM will become one stick with Judah and fight against Thy sons, O’breath? Do you think the US is going to stand with Israel? I am. I am. Listen to your answer. All right. I believe that the United States probably will guarantee peace for Israel and I also believe that these offers by the Muslims, by the Arabs are again just a lie because just like air fat, the Quran allows them to lie as long as it’s in the cause of Allah.

I’ve found out on my trip to Israel I would be trying to buy something from a Muslim and I would say you just lied to me, you just lied to me and they would actually admit to it and and say that that was perfectly legit. And so Eirfat never told the truth. They used to say, how could you tell when Eirfat was lying? And they said, well, when his lips were moving, and whenever his lips were moving, he knew he was lying.

He never kept one agreement he signed, and every time he chipped away to Israel and Israel gave away more. And this is, of course, their strategy. They don’t ever tell the truth, and you can’t count on it because their Quran allows their faith. understand that in our country because we’re raised with the principles of the Bible that were not to lie. And I was remember raised in school being told that George Washington could not tell a lie. He told his dad that he could not on the cherry tree.

And we don’t live in that kind of a mind frame, but that’s the way they live. And I think no, we are not ephraim and no, the United States will eventually turn on Israel as we find that according to the Bible, the Antichrist, which I believe will come out this country will end up taking all of what was ancient Assyria which includes Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon. Israel and Egypt. And you see those descriptions of how that actually occurs.

Daniel 11 especially. He’s kind of interesting how the countries there will be taken over by the western dictator, the Antichrist. And he’ll set up his palace in Jerusalem and be the counterfeit Christ and rule the world from there. Thank you Nancy for your call and it’s exciting times to be living in for sure because I believe Christ would turn us soon. Anyway, this is Thursday. Our TV programs were on tonight. We’re on at 630 under our TV nationwide, channel 321.

At seven o’clock all over the West Coast, we’re on the CTN Network. I hope you’ll watch our programs tonight. Also, this is summertime and it’s a lean time. If you, most ministries suffer a decline in giving over the summer, we’re no exception. If you could help us at this time and shore us up over the summer, that would be wonderful. You can give a gift by calling and giving it by credit card over the phone. You can also call and ask and we’ll send you an envelope with our address on it.

You can mail a gift to Bible. But we’re totally list or supported. We don’t pay any salary. So all the funds go right to getting us out there as far as we can all over the planet if we can and through the internet. That’s exactly what’s happening. We’re going to take a break here. We’ll come back and do a second half hour and we invite you to stick with us for the second half hour. So hug your radio, don’t change that now and hold on tight and we’ll go to break now We’ll come back in just a moment and we’ll do a second half hour.

So stay with us. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. England Striman. This is Bibleline. It is great to be with you. I just heard in the short break there that we had a list of injects that were being heard loud and clear. WYMM 1530 on the AM dollar belief and we’re excited about all of you new listeners up in the Jacksonville area and for those that are listening all across the country.

Thanks for being a part of it and we have a lot of people listening on the internet. In fact, 149 countries have logged in and we know we have people that listen all over the world. When I was in Israel in March, we ran into a wonderful group of Nigerians and we invited them to come to my Bible study at the hotel in the evening and about 40 of them came and one of them stood up and said he listens to Bibleline in Nigeria on the internet.

Isn’t that amazing? I thought, this is just incredible. How in the world? Here I go to Israel. They traveled to Israel and we meet up with people that are listening to the Bible and from the Nigeria. Then later that week we met about four or five of the pastors from the other side of Nigeria from up for night in Nigeria that also listened to the Bible and on the Internet. That’s just amazing. Well, in any case, we are thanking God for the Bible and program and what God is doing through it.

We also thank God for you because you are the ones who keep us on the air without your support, without your prayers. I don’t believe we would be going anywhere. I know we wouldn’t because we sure couldn’t afford to pay for what we’re doing because it’s greater than us. We really require your help. This is summer and that means giving goes down for everybody. If you attend a church you can check on and not you’re giving there. I’m sure it went down.

Everybody experiences this. kind of say in the Christian world that there’s a two-hump camel that spring and some and fall are the times when giving increases but the summer is that that dip in between the two humps on the camel so that’s where we are you could sure help us at this time if you would help us and shore us up by your gifts if you could give a gift at this time it’d be wonderful if you can give a generous gift That would be great.

Whatever size gift, it’s really appreciated. And God will use it. I know the further the gospel of Jesus Christ. You can do it by phone calls at 1-800-5763771. Also you can do it by mail. And we’ll be glad to recite that address to you if you call, or send you an envelope with that address already on it. We are now going to return to stations and if you don’t break into the second half hour of Bible, Keep your radio right where it is and please join us for the second half hour of Bible and God bless you.

Would you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Alright, we’re back for a good break and this is Bible and great to be with you. Thanks for listening. We’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida. from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church, where I’m the pastor, always love to meet our listeners. And if you can get a chance to come by, that would be wonderful.

And I really do enjoy meeting our listeners, and we’ve had people come in here from all over. And what a joy. We had a fellow couple weeks back from Macedonia, my goodness sakes, from Egypt and from all over the place. And we just are amazed at what God is doing. We certainly invite you to come by as well. Our Resource Center is open every day until about 4.30. We’d love to have you come and meet us and take a look at what we’ve got in our Resource Center.

But, you know, if you live in another area and you’re not able to get over here, go to the Internet. We have an online bookstore there that has everything that we have here. And you can order it on the Internet right there on the website. and we’ll get it right out to you. That’s exciting. In any case, we thank you for tuning in today and invite you to come by for a worship day or Sunday. On the third Sunday of the month, we always have a dinner and in August, if you come on the third day, if you’re coming from a distance, that would be a great day to come.

I have an adult class at 9.15 every Sunday morning and you’re welcome to join that. Then we have a 10.30 worship service. You’re welcome to join me for that. And then we’ll have a dinner, a lunch. Everybody brings their best home cooked food and that’s on the third Sunday. And then this third Sunday in August, we’re going to have a baptism. We have a lot of people that want to get baptized and we’ll be doing that at 3 in the afternoon so you can really make it a big day.

If you are needing to be baptized, we would be honored to include you and baptize you by immersion on that third Sunday. You can call and get on a list and get the details. But we would love to have you. That would be wonderful. And it’s certainly something the Lord asks believers to do. If you don’t have a place to go and get baptized, you can come and get in ours because obviously we should do that. The testimonial, water doesn’t wash away your sin, and if you died without being water baptized, you’d still go to heaven.

But Christ asked us to do that. Whenever we’re obedient to do whatever the Lord tells us to do, there’s a blessing involved in. I’m sure you’ll experience the blessing of God for doing that. Well, I hope that you’ll take advantage of that. By the way, also we have a lot of things in our resource center that we recommend. We’re doing the Gospel of John right now on Tuesday nights. You can take that on the internet because we’re webcasting that.

You have to call, of course, and sign up and get the passcode. But you’ll be able to watch us in any time of day or night, really, and also live for many places in the world. So give us a call about the Gospel John class. We’ve already done two weeks of it, which is class 1, 2, 3, and 4. Next Tuesday we’ll be teaching class 5 and 6. And obviously we’ve got four weeks left and eight more hours to complete the 12 hours of teaching on the gospel of John.

All that’s being recorded will be available on CD if you want to order the set. And again we have a lot of sets. I’ve done about 40 presentations. I’ve taught for three different Bible colleges, 11 years from Moody Bible is to Chicago. And these CD series on the Book of Revelation, the Book of Daniel, the Book of Zachariah, of Romans, of the Hebrews, of the good Jude, and on and on and on are available on different topics like the Rapture, parables, Jesus is coming, in time controversies, so on and so on.

These series are all available and many are deciding that wow this is a great way to learn the Bible. Stick it in your CD player in your car when you’re going to and from work and play it in your home and some use it to facilitate a Bible study and they play a CD and have discussion and refreshments and in fact some folks up in Pennsylvania occasionally call me. Long distance right during the Bible study say, hey, we’re stuck.

We have a question. Could you explain it for us? Well, I can’t do that for everybody, but it’s kind of cute and kind of fun to know that there’s a group learning from these CDs and I’m able to sometimes come to their aid if they are able to catch me on the phone in the evening and Ask a question which I’ve always been happy to do But in any case we’re having fun and we’re hoping that you’re enjoying Bibleline and telling your friends about it helping us grow our audience.

And again, we’re in the summer, and that’s the lean time for giving for everybody in the Christian world. And we’re no exception. And so if you could help us during these summer months, we would be really greatly appreciative. You can do it by phone and give it by credit card. You can also do it by mail. We can be able to, we can send you an envelope with our address on it if you like. Give us a call. Our printers are friendly.

They’ll be glad to answer your questions and help you in any way we possibly can. We’re going to go to Daytona Beach. Are you ready? And we’re going to go to Daytona Beach and talk to Chuck. And Chuck, welcome to my Bible room. No, thank you. You’re on the air. Don’t listen to the radio. I said delay there. OK. Just listen to the phone and we’ll be fine. What’s your question? OK. I have a question about Christmas and Easter.

Should a Christian celebrate those? I’m newly saved about two years ago. and the research that I’ve done, and even when I was a child, I realized that Easter bunnies and things like that had nothing to do with the resurrection of Jesus Christ and also the pagan foundations of Christmas. And I’m just kind of confused about that. Could you explain it? Sure. You know, the devil wants to rob Christianity of the truth. So you just have to get rid of the nonsense.

Now, in the spring, we celebrate the resurrection of Christ. I don’t like to use the word Easter because it’s really the name of the mother of Baal. Baal’s mother was Astroth in the Old Testament, and if you take off the last three letters, it’s simply Ash-tar, and English is pronounced Easter. So Easter is the mother of Baal. So I don’t want to worship her, a sex goddess, and that’s why the bunny rabbits and the eggs it’s all has to do with sex infertility, has nothing to do with Christ at all.

I don’t want to give up celebrating the resurrection of Christ. You know as Christians every first Sunday We celebrate the resurrection When we come together to worship because it was on the first day of the week that Christ rose from the dead and We celebrate that when we come together as believers every first day of the week So definitely we want to especially focus on that in the spring and we do that here We just don’t have the bunny rabbit, so we don’t have the eggs but we do have the gospel and we do celebrate the fact that Christ is risen and is alive forever more.

And also I don’t think it’s wrong to celebrate the birth of Christ. I really believe personally that Christ was born in October and I have a CD on that and also to go to the internet and go to the radio programs. In our archive there’s special presentations and we have that message on when Christ was born and I give you the calculations and the and you can figure that out. So I like to celebrate Christmas twice. But I think we have to just dump the paganness and try to really tell the story of Christ.

It’s a great opportunity for us to witness well a lot of people are just going through the ritual of celebrating this holiday that they don’t really know what it’s all about. We can tell them the real meaning is that God, the creator of the universe, made a visit to the planet planet and took on a human body that was born in Bethlehem, but grew up and as a man he died in Jerusalem on the cross of Calvary to pay for our sins.

It’s an ideal opportunity, a platform. People are more open at those two times of year than any other time to hearing the gospel. So I take full advantage of it and you can point out some of the paganists that ought to be removed, but otherwise it’s a great opportunity. So celebrate all you want, but just try to not celebrate the wrong things which obviously Easter, I don’t celebrate her, I celebrate Jesus in his resurrection. But isn’t the Passover is the 14th of the month of Nissan, isn’t that one which should be?

I can the King James Bible, there’s something about Easter in there, but if you look at it, mostly, it’s the bunnleven bread first, and then Eastern, sometimes they kind of go inside. Well, Eastern there, that’s a bad translation. It’s Acts 12.4, and it should never have been translated, that it has to do with the Passover. And Christ died as the Passover lamb. But because it goes by the lunar calendar and slides back and forth, we have established a particular day so that it doesn’t jump around like that so much.

But generally, it doesn’t matter as long as you pick a day, you know, generally. In our society it’s a certain Sunday that we always celebrate the resurrection, but sometimes it coincides with a Passover and sometimes it doesn’t. If you wanted to celebrate it when the Jews are celebrating, you know, the Passover was a picture of his death. Then the Feast of Unleavened Bread was a picture of his burial and he fulfilled those feast days right to the letter. The Feast of First Fruits was a picture of resurrection and Christ came back from the dead on that Sunday.

the Feast of First Fruits Day and that always by the way occurred on a Sunday. So it’s quite remarkable how these were fulfilled. And 1 Corinthians 5-7 says, for even Christ our Passover sacrificed for us. In 1 Corinthians 15-22 it says Christ is the first fruits of the resurrection. So literally there’s a tie to the Old Testament feast days. And if you wanted to really be strict you could worship exactly on those days. But it doesn’t matter. I don’t think the important thing is to take advantage of this to share it with others as you celebrate.

You want to, I think, at least I like to be considering the loss and say, how can I bring them to Christ and point out that the true meaning of what they’re celebrating is really all about Jesus and what He did for us. So hopefully that helps. Okay. Thank you. You’re so welcome. Thank you for calling Bible Ed. So I’m Dr. Engle and this is Bible Ed. Great to be with you. Thank you for listening and we appreciate all of you.

We hope that you will take a look at our website, BibleLineMinistries.org. We had last month in the month of June. As you go to my website, the first thing you will see is a seven minute video presentation of the Gospel. I simply explained simply how you can be saved. Well in the month of June we had 2,800 people just watched that video. Isn’t that amazing? We also have a quiz there, right at the very beginning, the same as we have in our tracks that we make available to people to purchase and use to win people to Christ.

And we have 50 people a day on a regular basis that will take that quiz, fail it, and come back and get it right. And obviously, apparently, at least they have the right answer when they really trust the water, but that’s a potential of 50 a day to get saved. That’s 1500 people a month that take that quiz and discover the correct answer about how to be saved through faith in Christ alone. By the way, that video is available for you to put on your website if you have one or a link to that.

And it tells you right on the right side is you watch that video when you pull up my website on the right side. It tells you how that you can add that and it’s free. We want you to do that and there’s lots of websites out there that are using that video because you want to get the people who come to their site to get saved. And this is a wonderful way to do that. And they just have a nice simple presentation on the Gospel.

You’re welcome to use that if you would like. Our phone number here today at Bibleline is 1-800-576-3771-1-800-576-3771. Tonight is our television night. Thursdays were on direct TV at 6.30, Eastern Standard Time, Nationwide. So that’s tonight, 6.30. And that’s Eastern Time. If you’re in another time zone, you’d have to hear it earlier in the day as you go west across our country. Then at 7 o’clock all over the west coast of Florida here, we’re on that 7 on the Christian television network and on cable the channel varies.

but it’s actually Channel 22. If you had a lot of rabbit ears, I’d rather in Hillsborough County in Tampa here. It’s on Channel 3, I think Pinellas County’s Channel 2. And just check your viewer guide. But we’re seeing everywhere from Fort Myers to Crystal River, Nova to Orlando, and we invite you to watch our TV programs. That’s Thursday, that’s when we do that. And of course, if you’re living in the Tampa Bay area, our radio show is on seven days a week.

sitting here on Saturday and Sunday at 10 in the morning. So we’re straight across the board seven days a week, 10 o’clock in the morning. On the weekend we play the best of. We have some off here. I want to go ahead and take some of those. We have Pete in Pinellas Academy and he says, in regard to the UNIC mentioned in Acts 827, was this person a Jew. Well, we know he’s from Ethiopia. We know he has a lot of authority.

He was in charge of the treasury of the queen of Ethiopia. And since he was coming to Jerusalem to worship, it certainly could be that he was Jewish. But he was unsaved and obviously Philip led him Mm. What a wonderful story. He happened to be reading from Isaiah in the Old Testament and Philip went over and explained it and told him that Jesus was the one that Isaiah was talking about and the man trusted Jesus and was baptized. What is interesting is that, for example, the NIV, the new international version drops 44 verses in their entirety from the New Testament.

Bible, one of them is Acts 8, 37, if you have an NIV turn and look for verse 37, it’s not there, it’s not there. You’ll see verse 36, you’ll see verse 38, and verse 37 is gone. Look at how important this verse is. It says in Philip said, If you believe with all your heart thou mayest, and he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Well, this is the only verse in the Bible that really explains what is required for you to be water baptized.

That is the confessed Christ as being the Son of God, the Savior. When you believe in Christ as Savior, then you ought to be water baptized. Isn’t that amazing? Really, key verses are dropped from many of the newer translations. We have a book called New Age Bible Versions that will just shock you at what’s happening with some of the translations that are out there. And here’s what one of the things that’s going on. Every publisher wants to have their own translation because they want to get a piece of the pie in selling Bibles.

But in order to get their own exclusive copyright, they have to change 10% of the Bible or they can’t get it. So that’s what’s going on here. They’re changing words and they’re deleting words. And as long as they make 10% changes, they can get their own copyright. So don’t wonder, we’re really getting blindsided here. And the NIV is, I think, one of the worst Bibles that are out there. So if you have the NIV, I hope you’ll do your homework and see for yourself.

It tries to do away with hell. It’s almost like the Joe’s Witness Bible, believe it or not, the New World Translation. Even the title’s the same. New World Translation, New International Version. New and New World and International same version translation the same. The title is even the same. They both attempt to try to do away with hell. In fact, the translator, the head of the committee for the NIV, R. Laird Harris said that hell is nothing more than returning to the dust of the ground.

It’s no more than just dying. It’s craziness. How can we buy Bibles from people like that that don’t really accept the literalness of a real hell? The Bible certainly teaches it, and Jesus certainly preached on it more than anyone else, because He didn’t want anyone to go there. Just three times alone, if you just check out Mark 9, 42, 44, and 46, Jesus said, Hell’s a place where your soul will never die, and the fire will never be quenched.

Let me say that again. The soul will never die, and the fire will never be quenched. And Christ just emphasized it again and again because he came to die so you wouldn’t have to go to hell. Obviously, there’s a literal hell and Christ certainly believed it and taught it. And he spoke more about hell in heaven because he didn’t want people to go there. We’re going to go to Sally now in Tampa, Florida and Sally. We welcome you to Bibleline.

Sally, are you there? Hello, Sally. I don’t know what happened to Sally. Let me try one more time here. Sally, are you there? I’m not getting Sally, so maybe we can find out. Maybe you can find out where Sally went. But Sally, if you disappeared, you can call back. I’m going to try to get you up on the air. I don’t know what happened there. Let’s see here. We have a caller here from JT, from Powhatan, Virginia. Wow. And he says, do works prove a person is saved?

who works for a person is saved. The answer is really no. God knows the heart and man looks on the outward appearance. It might give demonstration to somebody who is lost that you are saved and because of that you might be able to lead them to Christ, but certainly not the other way around. We find that works are what we ought to do after we’re saved. They bring about rewards, but they certainly don’t save you.

We see, let me just hold on one second here and solve a problem. There we go. All right. He says my church says that works do not save, but doing good works proves to others that you’re saved. Well, that’s true. It’s an evidence. You know, it says in James 2 that Abraham demonstrated his faith by being willing to offer up his son Isaac. People said, wow, Abraham, of course he got saved before he ever had a son. You know, in James, Genesis 15, Abraham believed the Bible says, believe God, and what he believed was the promise that God gave about a coming Savior.

Jesus, the Messiah, that would come of His lineage. And 40 years later, he has a son, Isaac, probably about the age of Christ. I think about 33 is probably when that took place when he offers his son, but son, that he had a little 12 year old boy that he was offering up on that altar. Abraham was offering up a fully grown man, a mature man, about 33 years of age, I would suspect he’s a perfect type of Christ.

He’s ready to slay his own son. Here’s a picture of the Gospel message. But people said, wow, this son, he waited for all of his life. He loved his son. It says his only be, it’s his only son. And it’s a picture of Christ when God gives his only begotten son. And here Abraham demonstrates to man that he really did believe from the get-go. And his faith obviously matured to the place where he was willing to obey God even in slaying his son that he greatly loved.

But if you don’t have any works, it doesn’t change your salvation. Let me quote a great verse for you. It’s in 1 Corinthians 3, 15 when it talks about the Judgement of Christ where we will all stand and give an account for the works that we have done for degree of reward or loss of reward in heaven. And it says, if any man’s work shall be burned. 1 Corinthians 3, 15, he shall suffer loss and that is loss of reward.

But the next phrase proves you don’t lose your salvation because it says, but yet he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire. So if you are a believer, you will lose reward. But what is amazing about this verse is it’s really implying here that you can do absolutely zero your whole life. No works at all. And yet you’d still be saved. You’d suffer the loss of reward and I think you would suffer that for eternity. But you would not lose your salvation.

Again, 1 Corinthians 3.15 If any man’s works shall be burned, he shall suffer loss. That’s loss of reward, but he himself shall be saved. We have a call now, Bruce, from Link Echo in Nova Scotia. Wow, Bruce, thank you for calling in. And I want to answer Bruce’s question now. He says from Nova Scotia, are there any encouragement, subscription, that would help us face on deal with or other problems. Well, let me give you a good one. Then here’s one of my favorites.

It says in 1 Corinthians 10 13 That whatever you’re going through God knows about it And he’s not gonna let you go through something more difficult than you’re gonna be able to handle This is a great and I go to this verse a lot for a lot of different reasons But it says in 1 Corinthians 10 13 there have no testing taken you but such as as common to man but God is faithful that’s the key part God is faithful who will not allow or suffer you to be tempted or tested above that which you are able but will with the temptation also make a way to escape that you may be able to bear it so what it’s saying here is that God knows your limits he knows what you can handle ladies and gentlemen and He will never put you through a testing or trial in your life greater than you can be

able to handle. But he is faithful in that. He will give you a way to escape that you may be able to bear it. Doesn’t say you won’t go through this trial, but he’ll give you the answers to how to handle it. So absolutely I would go to that passage 1 Corinthians 10, 13 and thank you Bruce for calling in from Nova Scotia. wonderful. My mind is certainly reaching out. We’re going to have to run with said the day is over here.

We’re coming up on the end of the program. Let me remind you again that this is our television day. We’re on at 630 on Direct TV, World Harvest Television Channel 321.
