Join us for the service. Bring your Bible, your appetite, your family, and be my guest and stay for a Thanksgiving celebration dinner and plenty of turkey and ham and other things that we’ll be eating that day. Turn in your Bibles, if you will, to Revelation 11, an exciting chapter. This is John, the apostle, caught up into the future. He sees the events that have not yet taken place, that we believe will take place shortly after the rapture. As all of us believers are going to be caught out in the season verse 1, there was given unto me a reed like unto a rod, and the angel stood saying, Rise and measure the temple of God and the altar and them that worship therein.
It’s talking about a temple that is not there right now, but there will be a third temple built. 2 Solomon’s Temple destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar in BC 606, a second temple that was rebuilt after the Babylonian captivity that was destroyed in AD 70 after Christ had been rejected. A third temple we believe will be erected immediately following the Rapture. We’ve had Gershan Solomon here in person and also on our radio program who has been cutting the stones, making preparations for this Third Temple.
I have been in Israel and we were there in March of this year and we saw everywhere such an excitement about rebuilding the Third Temple and we saw models of it for sale and we saw signs talking about that the Third Temple was soon to come. Well I believe that is an indication we are getting close. When the rapture happensvironment, I believe the temple will be rebuilt, and John being caught into the future, as we read here in Revelation 11 verse 1, is told to measure that temple and the altar and them that worship therein.
Then he says in verse 2, But the court that is without the temple leave out and measure it not, for it is given unto the Gentiles, and the holy city, Jerusalem, shall they tread under foot forty and two months. 42 months is 3 and a half years, that’s half of the 7 year tribulation period. And we find that the courtyard part of the temple is to be not measured. Why? Because it will be under general control. I believe that tells us about the two mosques that are presently standing there, the Aloxa the most at the southern most point of the Temple Mount platform and the Dome of the Rock that one you see with the beautiful gold gnome.
Both of those are in abomination. Both of them are on the Temple Mount which is where the ancient Jewish temples once stood and they will apparently be remaining there right up until the end of the tribulation when when Christ will cleanse his temple and cleanse these pagan sites and take them off the site of the ancient Jewish temples. So in any case it says you don’t measure that and back in Ezekiel it tells us there will be a wall built that will surround the new third temple to separate it from the profane area which is the area where the two mosques are.
So I think you’re going to see the temple being placed where it stood once and before. That’s north of the two Arab mosques. And it will be. In that open area, directly in line with that Eastern Gate that Christ would enter in and out of the temple area with. Then it says, in verse 3, and I will give power unto my two witnesses. There are two Old Testament prophets that are going to come back to the earth. The Bible tells us Moses and Elijah are coming back.
That’s right. Moses and Elijah are coming back to the earth, and it tells us that here in Revelation 11, numerous other verses that hint at the same thing. I’ll give power to my two witnesses. They shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and three score days clothed in sackcloth. That’s three and a half years, my friend. That’s identical to the forty-two month period. But here we’re talking about the first half of the tribulation period right after the rapture. There will be no believers on the earth.
Every believer will be caught up at the rapture to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord. On the earth nothing but unbelievers. So to crank up the witnessing process, God will send back two Old Testament prophets. I believe they are Moses’ analogies. We’ll show why in just a moment. And they will lead the 144,000 Jewish men who will be witnessing during the Tribulation compared to Christ, and then those 144,000 will lead millions to Christ of all nations and kindreds in tongues according to Revelation 7 verse 9.
It tells us here, these two prophets who come back will be given supernatural power. If any man will hurt them, fire, proceed without their mouth, and devour their enemies, and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. you imagine? I think it’s literally. Moses and Elijah will be safe during that first three and a half years from enemies as if any many will try to hurt them. Fire will come right out of their mouth and devour them.
Verse 6, they’ll have power to shut up heaven that it reign not in the days of their prophecy. What Old Testament prophet did that Elijah He prayed during those wicked days of King Ahab and his wife Jezebel and it didn’t rain guess how long? Three years and six months, three and a half years. It’s going to happen again. Elijah will come back. He’ll pray and it will not rain during the days of their prophecy. How long is that? 1260 days or three and a half years.
Then it says here, they’ll have power over the waters to turn them to blood and this might be earth with all the plagues as often as they will. Not Prophet did that. Well, that was Moses who turned the water to blood. A very clear reference, I think, here to Moses and Elijah. And notice this says, at the end of that three and a half year period that they preached during the first three and a half years of the tribulation period, when they will have finished their testimony, the antichrist that comes out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them and shall overcome them and kill them.
So here we have a battle where the Antichrist kills Moses and Elijah after their 3.5 year ministry and their bodies, verse 8 of Revelation 11, shall lie in the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt were also our Lord who specified that’s Jerusalem. And spiritually it’s like Sodom. the word of God is not being preached from Jerusalem, but we find here that this is where these two men will be killed, Moses and Elijah, and their dead bodies will lie there in the streets.
Now look at this verse 9, if you have your Bible. And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and a half and not allow them to be put in the graves. How can you have people worldwide viewing their dead bodies lying there in the streets of Jerusalem? Well, never before in the history of man could that have been possible till today. With our satellites, we now regularly routinely see live pictures of events taking places in other parts of the world and we expect it.
When we watch the evening news, we expect to see what’s happening in China, in Europe, in Africa, or wherever the news is being made. We expect to see that. Guess what? There will be cameras trained on the dead bodies of Moses and Elijah. People around the world will view them. Isn’t that incredible? This is something that is now. We’ve never had the technology till now for that to happen. right now you and I can see how that can happen right today.
But as soon as the rapture happens, which I believe is very close, the temple will be rebuilt. John is told to measure that temple. He’s told not to measure the profaned area by the two Muslim mosques that are there. And then he tells us about two Old Testament prophets that will come back, that we’ll be able to shut off the heavens so that it doesn’t rain, Be able to turn the water to blood, and smite the earth of plagues.
And if anybody tries to kill them, fire, or proceed out of their mouth and destroy them. And it says here after the three and a half years, they will be killed by the Antichrist, and their bodies will lie in the streets of Jerusalem. And they, verse nine of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations, shall see their dead bodies all over the world. And then notice verse 10, there’s going to be a big party. May the develop on the earth shall rejoice over them and make merry and send gifts to one another.
Can you imagine? They are going to party celebrating the death of the two prophets and they will be watching on TV in their homes looking over at the screen and seeing their dead bodies. Interesting isn’t it? I was reminded when Saddam Hussein’s two sons were killed, we saw their dead bodies didn’t we? They showed them on TV. They wanted the world to know that these two men were dead. They wanted the Iraqi population to know that these two awful killers, these sinful men, were dead.
And we saw their bodies. I saw them here. And you probably saw them wherever you might be listening to this program. And I thought of this passage and I said, wow, those were two bad guys. And we saw their bodies on TV around the world. And here we have two good guys, Moses and Elijah. Their bodies will be seen worldwide. And it says they will send gifts to one another and they’ll get drunk and they’ll have parties because these two prophets tormented them that both on the earth.
But I love verse 11, Revelation 11, 11, 11. It says that after three days and a half, the Spirit of God or the Spirit of life from God entered into them and they stood upon their feet and great fear fell upon them all. Can you imagine? Around the world people watch you on their big screen televisions in their living room, they’re drunk, they’ve been partying, they’ve been giving gifts, they look over at the screen and they see these two men rise from the dead.
I would imagine panic sets in. That’s what the Bible says here. And then they heard a great voice from heaven saying to them, come up hither and they have ascended up into a cloud and their enemies beheld them. Can you imagine the cameras are trained on them as they not only come back to life and are caught on television and it’s seen around the world and the homes of people that were rejoicing over their death. Now see them rise from the dead and ascend out of their sight in the heaven itself.
We’re living in exciting days. I don’t know about you, but it excites me to realize that the technology is here for all All of this to happen right now. I’m Dr. Eng Vincerme, this is Bibleline, and by the way, all of these things are covered in my Revelation series. If you want to get the CDs verse by verse on the book of Revelation, you’ll find it very, very exciting. We’re going to go to the phone lines here in just a moment.
We want you to call us at 1-800-576-3771. Alright, we have Dave in Plant City, Florida and Dave, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Good morning, Dr. Hank, how are you today? Good. I really appreciate you taking my call. I got a couple questions today. I need you to refresh me on several times. Sometimes you’ve mentioned the rapture and there are several examples in the Bible. I think you might have said five or seven. Could you name those fours and where you could find them in the Bible?
And like Enoch and Elijah and John and Revelation getting taken up. And another question, where do you, after listening to you, describe what you just described about the two weeks. I think Enoch’s coming back. What do they support what they’re trying to say? You know, hang up and listen. Okay, Dave, Dave and Plant City. Well, first of all, there are a lot of examples of the rapture in the Bible. You know, a lot being delivered out of Psalm before it was destroyed.
Before God can bring judgment on this earth, the church, the body of Christ has to be raptured out. That’s why we don’t belong in the tribulation period at all. The two angels told Lot, hey, hurry up and get out of here because we can do nothing until you be gone. And that’s really what’s happening today. God cannot judge the the earth, until the believers iya And so we’re going to be raptured. Enoch before the flood. Again, before time of judgment Enoch was taken out as a picture of the rapture.
And so there are numerous examples in the bible of pictures of what the rapture would be like, believers being delivered before. The judgment would come upon the earth and that’s what we’re talking about. For those who try to say Enoch is the one coming back, based on the fact that he’d never died and that Moses died. so they say Enoch in Elijah. But that isn’t fit at all. Actually we have to have two prophets that are in the dispensation or age of law and both Moses that began that dispensation by receiving the law at Mount Sinai and Elijah, another prophet living within that time period are the ones who come back to conclude the age of law which still has seven years to take off the clock.
That’s the seven year tribulation period. When you look at what we just read there, obviously it was Moses that turned the water to blood. It was Moses that smote the earth with plagues. Also in the Mount of Transfiguration in Matthew 17, when Jesus is shown as he will be in his second coming, who’s standing there with him? Moses, Elijah. I could go on and on, but definitely that is the answer. We now have Robert and Robert is in Bradenton, Florida and Robert, welcome to Bibleline your on the air.
God bless you, Dr. Hank. Can you comment on the origin? Thank you. God bless you. I believe the earth was originally created, perfect and inhabited, Genesis 1-1. It says that in Isaiah 45-18, Isaiah 45-18, it says, the Holy Spirit created the heavens and the earth. He created it perfect and inhabited, and it says He did not create it vain. Now the word vain in the Hebrew is the very same word translated void in Genesis 1-2. So it tells us he did not create it as we find it in Genesis 1-2.
But that is the result of a judgment upon the original earth that was inhabited by plants and animals, dinosaurs and so on, and all of the angels of God. All of the angels of God lived here on the earth. When Satan led his rebellion, God judged the earth and his angels and Satan and judged this earth and it became void without form. It was flooded and it says darkness was upon the face of the whole deep. NASA tells us that all life on this planet was extinguished 65 million years ago.
in asteroid, about 150 miles diameter struck in the area of the Yucatan Peninsula. You can look at the Gulf of Mexico and see that round area there and they say it through up so much debris from the earth into the atmosphere that the sun’s light was cut off for millions of years. It caused the nice age and certainly we see that in our history. Then, rather recently, perhaps 6,000 years ago, in Genesis 1-2, it says, the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
That word, move there, means to incubate or to brood upon. It’s the same word used of a hen sitting on a nest, keeping the eggs warm and preparing them for birth or hatching out. And that’s exactly what God did. Apparently, God warmed up to your thought it out. And in seven days made the earth inhabitable. Again, you’ll not find one verse, you’ll not find one verse. It ever says that God created the earth in seven days. It uses the word made.
That word means to ordain or to appoint. And so the earth now is appointed for a new purpose, now with man on the planet, but nowhere, nowhere, nowhere, nowhere do you ever find that God created the earth in seven days. He created it in verse one, the beginning. Anyway, we have CDs on that. We have some articles I’ve written on that. You can call our operators and get all that material and hopefully that will help you. Thank you for that call.
We now have Adam in Denver, Colorado. And Adam, welcome to Bibleline You’re on the air. Hey, Dr. Ugar, thanks for taking my call. I have a couple questions. Recently, we’ve been hearing a lot about the year 2012 and the Mayan civilization. calendar not ending in 2012 and then the last book from Mr. Thomas. My question is, is Do you think that something spiritual in my other question is people who were never like for instance sub Mayan people were never new and died.
How does God deal with that? And I’ll hang up and listen to your answer. Thank you. Well, you know, I think every civilization is they’ve all had opportunity. You know, the Bible says in Romans 119 that God places within everyone who’s born a knowledge of the fact that God exists. of order they become responsible to seek Him. Rowan 1 20 tells us they are without excuse. And in Jeremiah 2913, a favorite verse of mine that says, You shall seek me and find me when you shall search me of all your heart.
Basically what we find around the world is civilizations that have rejected truth and have departed from that and gone into error. That’s exactly what Romans chapter 1 seems to teach and it seems to be true. that have had the truth, walked away from the truth, Rome did that. And Rome, although many became Christians during the Roman Empire time, Rome pretty much rejected Christ and moved on. And that whole civilization died out, or it extinguished. And we were finding that happening again today.
Well, we’re up on a break time here, so we better just head toward break. If you are a listener we sure hope you will pray for Bibleline. We’re coming to you live from our studios here in Tampa at the Calvary Community Church. We’re on the pastor and we’re excited about being with you every day.
I meet people every day that say I’ve listened every day to Bibleline and we have so many notes of encouragement to come in the mail and people that come by knock on our door telling us how they have benefited and many of them tell us they’ve gotten saved by listening to Bibleline. You are the heroes out there that are listening because you’re the ones also that pray for us and give to my mind and make this program possible. It is absolutely not possible to be on the air without our listeners being participants and partners with us.
That’s true. We don’t have any other means of support and we’re asking if you can for this month as you approach this Thanksgiving month to give a gift of Thanksgiving to the Lord through giving the Bibleline. You can do it over the phone. You can call and give a gift by credit card. You can also call and get an envelope sent to you with our address on mail, a gift to Bibleline. You can also go on to our online bookstore and other places on our website, BibleLineMinistries.org and give a gift there on our secure website.
So we’re excited about what the world is doing and of course we need your continued support, your continued prayers to be able to effectively do that. We’re excited about the third Sunday coming up here in November which will be our Thanksgiving Celebration service at 10.30 with a dinner that will follow Turkey and ham and dressing and gravy and pumpkin pie and everything else you’d expect with a Thanksgiving celebration dinner and we want you to come. Coming up February at the end of February 1st week of March in year 2008.
We are going to go to the phone lines again. We have some that have been holding on all the way through the break here and we have some off-air questions we want to try to get to today. This is Friday but in the Tampa Bay area you can hear us all week in long. On Saturday and Sunday we play the best of. If you have internet you can catch Bible and you can actually sit there and listen to us 24 hours a day.

We’re going to go to an anonymous caller, and this caller is in Richmond, Virginia, and we welcome Anonymous from Richmond to Bible, and you’re on the air. Thank you. This is hello, Dr. Hank. I hired you today, and I enjoy your lessons every morning. Well, good. But what I’m trying to find out now, who is Michael the Art Angel and where does he play the part? I’m staying play the certain part throughout the chapter. Who is he? Well, we don’t know a whole lot, but he is obviously the head angel of all of God’s angels.
You only have three angels mentioned in the Bible by name. You have Michael the Archangel who is the head of all of God’s host, his heavenly host, the angels. Then you have Gabriel who is God’s messenger angel who delivered the message to Mary that she was going to have a child and that child would be Jesus the Messiah delivered a message to John the Baptist that he was going to have a child through his wife Elizabeth that would be John the Baptist and so on.
And then we have Satan and those are the only three ones that we have we just know that Michael is very powerful he’s the head of God’s angels the heavenly host are all under his control and so he’s a very powerful angel but well what will get to heaven and she cares with it hope that helps are you still there yeah good so much you’re welcome and thank you for listening up there in Richmond, Virginia yeah all right God bless you that was anonymous in Richmond Virginia we have George in Tampa George welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air yeah hi dr.
excellent how are you good I would like to know you’re a stand on that scene of of election, I will hang up and listen to answer the radio. Okay, I believe that it’s as simple as DL Moody stated it. He said the Whosoever wills are the elect, the Whosoever won’ts are the non-elect. So what happened is before the foundation of the world, God elected to save all that would believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Before the foundation of the world, God elected not to save those that would reject Christ as or Savior.
And so when we find those doctrines taught in the Bible, for example 2 Thessalonians 2.13 is a favorite of mine. It says that God has from the beginning chosen you to salvation and it says there through belief of the truth. So when you believe the truth, you become elected. But God does not make your choice for you. It is your choice, but He elects to save all that make the choice to trust Jesus as their Savior. I hope that helps and we thank you for that call.
That was George in Tampa, Florida. We have Tim in Lutz, Florida calling in leaves us off your question. Is there a scripture which tells us that the temple is in line with the Eastern Gate, which proves that the Islamic mosque is not on the spot where the Jewish Temple will be built. The answer to that is no, but the Jewish people today pretty much are in agreement. I’ve been there now 14 times. We’ll be back the 15th time. The Jewish people don’t even want to walk up in that area because they are fearful that they’ll violate that area by walking on the holy of holies, which they’re not allowed to enter.
But if you look at the Temple Mount and you look at history, for example in Israel we saw at the Shrine of the Book an incredible outdoor model of the whole city of Jerusalem at the time of Christ. And you look at the Temple Mount area and you see that eastern gate and you can stand there in line with that eastern gate and look straight ahead and you’ll see the ancient Jewish temple sitting there in that model as it was two thousand years ago, directly in line with it.
So that’s pretty obvious. And if you, I’ve got it my couple trips ago, I went out to the Jerusalem airport and I rented an airplane. Of course I rented a pilot too. And I had him fly me over the temple mount and he tipped the wing and we we buzzed Jerusalem a couple of times pretty low and I was able to shoot pictures out the window of the airplane and that was a great experience. I want to do that again.
And and we flew over it and I took some great pictures and you can see from the air especially and you can I’m sure go online to find some aerial pictures of Jerusalem and you can do the same thing without going over there and getting an airplane. But you’ll find that if you just run a line straight east and west from that eastern gate it’ll go right through that open area north of both mosques where we believe the third temple will be built and that’s what is pretty much the view of all the scholars in Israel as well.
But there is no verse that says that. But you can see from the architecture of the Temple Mount platform and where the Eastern Gate is and its relationship to the road that crossed the Kidron Valley over to the Mount of Olives where the Garden of Gethsemane is in the road of Sensen up to the top of the Mount of Olives and over to Bethany. It’s right in line with that road. It’s not disputed at all. That’s where I think the temple will go.
It will be north of the two mosques. I think they can exist together. According to Ezekiel 44-22, a wall built around the Third Temple to separate it from the profane area. As we just read in Revelation 11 a moment ago, that courtyard area is not to be measured by John in the tribulation period because it will be. be profaned by the Gentiles right up until Jesus comes and cleanses the Temple Mount area at the Second Coming. Thank you so much for calling in.
We now have Earl in the land, Florida. Earl, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hi. I remember about drink alcohol. I said that, you know, there’s nothing in the Bible that says you cannot drink alcohol, but it says you’re forbidden to get drunk. And I I just recommend you don’t do it at all because there’s a certain number of people that have a tendency to over drink and also some that become addicted and become alcoholic. But you’re right.
It says in the Bible in Ephesians 5, 18, be not drunk with wine wherein it is excess, but rather it says be controlled or filled with the Holy Spirit. So as a believer, we’re definitely forbidden to get drunk and the Bible gives many warnings of a good proverb about what can happen if you do drink and get drunk. My goodness, there’s a lot of tragedy that can occur in your life. And obviously we see how many people are killing on highways by DUIs and all the other homes that are destroyed because of alcohol in that home.
But no, it doesn’t say you can’t drink, but I don’t recommend it. That’s my my my choice No, it doesn’t say that it says what it says. Well, another one who Sits along with the line and if you just sit there and and drink your life away you waste your time and also Tragedy things will happen as a result of drinking. I don’t drink a thing. I don’t drink any alcohol whatsoever And that’s just because I have a personal preference not to be associated with that but But it doesn’t say in the Bible you cannot.
In fact Christ drank wine and you can’t get around that, but he didn’t get drunk. I think he obviously, and in that day almost everybody did. It was especially with the water in the Middle East except our Israel has become a very modern nation and you can safely drink the water there today except I wouldn’t do it out on the street. The wine was a very mild wine, not very much alcohol, but it was enough to kill the little bugs that create you a problem with dysentery.
Hope that helps you with your question and I believe the Bible is quite clear that the Lord Jesus himself, Frank, he turned the water into wine at the wedding at Kana. Read John’s gospel, chapter 2. Thank you so much for that call and I hope that that helped clarify something. but definitely we’re forbidden to get drunk. We have here, let’s see here, Greg in Tampa, Florida, he says, do you think those rightly, do you think those rightly divide and apply God’s word will be given greater positions of authority and the money and the those that don’t, but yet are still saved?
Well, obviously rewards and positions of authority are earned by our deeds. And so those that do well, like it says in Matthew chapter 25, well done, now good and faithful servant, that person would be rewarded with authority over many cities as opposed to few based upon their faithfulness. So if they’re faithful to the Word and faithful to living for Christ, they will obviously do better as far as rewards are concerned than somebody who doesn’t. Greg, I hope that helps a little bit.
We have a question here about Matthew 17, and that is the chapter on the Transfiguration of Jesus. And it’s Matthew 17 and the question… I’m almost there. I’m turning in my Bible right now. I’m heading toward Matthew 17. I wish my Bible turned quicker than it does. 1712. It says here, I send you that Elias is already his come and they knew him not. So on. He says, is this teaching reincarnation? The answer is no. We don’t believe in reincarnation.
But Elijah never died and is going to come back. at the Second Coming of Christ. He will proceed by preaching. If you read the last two verses of Malachi, it says that before the great and dreadful day of the Lord, a lodge will come back and preach. We find that Moses, his body, was preserved apparently. Jude verse 9, take a look at it. Michael and Satan got into a big dispute over the body of Moses. I think Moses was crying foul.
This is not fair. Moses can’t come back. He died. But God obviously said no, he’s coming back in, has preserved that body. So there’s a dispute over the body. The body is still out there someplace. And the body has been preserved apparently by God. So Moses can come back as we talked about earlier in the program today. But it’s not reincarnation. We don’t come back in another life form. reincarnation is totally false. I like Hebrews 927. It’s appointed on the men once to die and then the judgment and You’re not going to come back in another life form but When I die, I’ll be absent from the body present with the Lord and I’ll be given a new body But I won’t come back into the life form here on this planet.
That’s for sure. We have Armando in St. Petersburg in Armando Welcome to my boy Good morning, Dr. Lynch. How are you? Good I’ll give it a try. I’m turning over the direction right now. 1 Timothy 5 verse 12 and I’m rapidly heading there and let’s see what that verse says. 1 Timothy 5 verse 12 says, having damnation because they cast off their first faith. The problem with this word damnation is it really comes from a Greek word that means judgment.
And so here talks about those that are believers who refuse good instruction and when they get they follow their own heart rather than the word of God and they have God’s judgment upon them because they cast off their first faith. So it’s talking not about losing salvation, not talking about hell, but simply God judges us. Let me give you another great verse. 1 Corinthians 1132 says, when we Christians, 1 Corinthians 1132, when we believers are judged, we are chastened.
That means disciplined of the Lord, such that we should not be condemned with the world. The world is going to be condemned good of hell. That’s damnation. But we are judged and when we are judged for disobedience or departing from God’s word God will discipline us. So I think that’s the answer for you. Okay Armana, I hear that radio in the background but that should be the answer. The word there in the Greek is judged and so damnation is not the correct word.
Thank you so much for that call and we hope that that has helped answer that question in first time of the five twelve we have monica in st. Petersburg and monica welcome to bible and you are on the air well i’m on the car hi how are you good i have a question for you regarding giving i know that if someone approaches us and ask us for money we are supposed to give to them but i don’t know about those that stand on the street corners with the sign it’s got require us to get to them and i’ll hang up and let you free you know i don’t think so over the problem is that uh…
lot of these people are just panhandling and uh… and some of them have a legitimate need and uh… i know up one of my church members up it was cold and uh… guy was out on the street corner and uh… he felt sorry so he went down to my burger king McDonald’s one of those and got a sack of burgers and fries and gave the gentleman the sacrifice in his jacket. And the guy refused it all. He said, I don’t want that.
He said, I want money. And generally they walk out to the nearest liquor store and get something to drink. So somehow you have to help. And we’ve seen that happen here. In our church on occasion, we have given money. It was maybe an inconvenient time where we didn’t have time to give them food or clothing. But we found that usually they run right over the near storm and get liquor. We had one come back with a big bottle of liquor in his hand and was ready to get more money.
And we said to you, we only spent this money because we gave it to you for food. You told us you were hungry and we fed you and we thought we were feeding you by giving you money. So we try to be more careful. We try to give them food, try to give them clothing, whatever they need, but we don’t give them cash because usually it turns into alcohol. So I hope that makes you feel better. I don’t know what to say.
I’ve, you know, I know that, you know, I don’t mind giving but I don’t want to be you, but then also know when you give to the church you know even though you’re given from your heart whatever the church money the church that would be a little bit of their responsibility because you know you gave i’m wondering am i supposed to get to the people what they do with it got a look at me and not what they do with the soldiers a little confused at my support i know i understand what you say and i and i and i have and i do on occasion still give a try to make it evaluation but sometimes difficult and And I know that some of these people brag later about what a good living they make out on the street corner, they bring in a couple hundred a day by begging.
And so they, you multiply it up 30 days, that’s about six grand, so they can make a pretty good living. And you go to their house and they might have expensive cars in the driveway. So I don’t know. And I hate to judge somebody. They’re talking about so much now. I just think it’s more of a business than anything. Yeah, I think you might be right. I think if you give them food or some churches have food coupons or something or you know like for like a nearby restaurant they have something like a gift card that can go in and buy several meals.
I think it’s better to give away some like that where they have to convert it to food or clothing where they just don’t get a chance to buy the alcohol. But thank you for the call. It’s a great question and it’s very difficult. You know your heart is tugged and you want to help and you don’t really want to help them in their alcohol habit or drug habit by just giving them cash. We have Gene in Dover, Florida and Gene welcome to Bible in your own ear.
Welcome to Bible in. Gene, hi Gene. Hi, I have a question. You know with all this scandal that’s going on in the mega churches. Is there any way that speaks in the Bible of how we’re supposed to give our tithes? And if there’s like a separate offering for the pastors? I don’t know about that, but about separate offerings. But you know, you really need to go or give where the doctrine is sound. And obviously these mega churches are doctrine is not very sound.
and nowhere is the Bible. Tell us that we’re going to be rich and prosperous. This whole prosperity theology is unscriptural. Let me share with you a great verse in 2 Timothy chapter 3 where it says in verse 12, rather than riches and prosperity, it says, yay, all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. So I think it’s, other verses and Paul talked about how that he learned how to deal with adversities and necessities and infirmities and he said he rejoiced when he was going through difficulties and distresses.
Second Corinthians chapter 12, Paul gives a whole list of things that he went through and sometimes he was cold and sometimes he was hungry and sometimes he was going through lot of problems and difficulties and he was thrown in jail for preaching the gospel. And this other philosophy that you’re going to be rich in wealthy and prosperous is another ballgame. But let me recommend to you 2nd John where it warns about giving. You need to know where you’re giving so you’re knowing where it’s going.
And in 2nd John it says, if they do not have their doctrine correct, it says don’t bid them God’s blessing and don’t give them anything or endorse them because then you’re going to be held accountable for their evil deeds. So you need to be careful where you give. I would make sure that you’re in a sound church and if you are, I think you can… He said, well, just look around and see, well, how is the money spent? You can see whether spending it on lavish things or whether spending it on the gospel and the Word of God going on and people being reached.
You can make your choice, but in 2nd John it tells us don’t bid those who have bad doctrine God’s speed by endorsing them or giving to them because that’s the negative. It says in verse 8 of 2nd John that you’ll lose reward you could have had if you’re not giving correctly because you will be endorsing false doctrine. That’s a negative. So God’s going to say, I’m not happy with that. And so need to be giving smart. So find a good sound Bible Church.
And I think if you get involved there, you’ll see that they have needs and you’ll want to give to make sure that those needs are met. Okay. Thank you. All right. You’re sure welcome. And we are getting toward the end of the program here and we have lots of color still waiting there. We’ll take one last one, Larry and Palm Harbor, and it has to be quick there because we’re out of time. And it doesn’t look like it’s going to be quick as Larry is ready to go here.

Alright, I’m Dr. Englund, we’ve had fun being with you all this week and thank you for and we’re turning into Bibleline.
It’s great. And God bless all of you. And we just are so appreciative of you, the audience that we get to meet many of you. And we just thank you for your words of encouragement, for thank you for your prayers. And thank you for your giving to Bibleline that keeps us on the air. We hate to talk about money, we really do. I wish I didn’t have to talk about it at all, but we do need your partnership. And I think that’s God’s plan.
He wants us to pull together and we can be your voice, we can give this message out on the air and you can make that possible by being the one that gives so that it can be accomplished. And we don’t pay any salaries, we have a pretty lean operation, we’re able to reach out farther than most for the amount of money that comes in. So there’s a bigger result for the gift that you give here at Bible and then I think probably almost any other ministry out there because we believe that this message needs to get out.
We believe we’re running out of time. We believe Christ is coming back soon and we believe that the message of the gospel is critical to people that are raised in church and many times are not hearing a clear message So they’re left confused. And we hope that this program is bringing clarification to you and helping you grow and hoping hopefully it gets you saved if you’re not. And hopefully we’re a blessing to you. I’m Dr. Engvens from I hope you’re going to Israel with me.
