If you have a Bible you might want to get it out as we take a look at a couple of Scriptures and we’re going to turn to the book of Romans today and we’re going to take a look at Romans chapter 11 verse 6. This one sounds like a tongue twister the first time you hear it but it’s really quite a remarkable verse.
In Romans 11, 6 it says, and if by grace, then it is no more of works. Otherwise grace is no more grace, but if it be of works, then it is no more grace, otherwise work is no more work. You say, what did he say? It sounds a little confusing, doesn’t it? Well, let’s go slow. It’s really saying here that grace is the exact opposite of works, and works are the exact opposite of grace. And you can’t mix the two.
If you were to graph them, you’d have grace and infinity on one side and separated by infinity, you’d have works on the other side. They would never meet, never meet at all. They’re opposites and you can’t mix them. If you add works to grace, you no longer have grace. You have works. And by subversive, it is obviously an amazing verse which really defines grace for us as the absence of of any human merit. And whenever we look in the Bible where grace is presented, usually you’ll find that the Bible negates any works at the same time.
For example, Ephesians 2.8 says, 4 by grace, mercy and merit and favor, are you saved through faith? The next phrase says, and that not of yourselves. In other words, grace is in the absence of any human contribution. So it says here, it’s not of yourself. Then it says again, it is the gift of God that speaks in God’s grace, is mercy where he gives salvation. And then the next phrase again, takes away the works. It says not of works, less than he mentioned both.
So you have grace and then it tells you not of yourself. You have grace and then it says it’s not of works. So wherever you find grace, the Bible makes it very clear that grace only operates in an environment of no works. And if you’re trusting in your works, you will not be saved. Let me say it this way. It’s daytime and since it’s daytime, it can’t be nighttime. Otherwise daytime wouldn’t be daytime. But if it were nighttime, then it couldn’t be daytime.
Otherwise nighttime wouldn’t be nighttime. What we’re saying here is it can’t be daytime and nighttime at the same time. I hope that helped a little bit. In other words, if you’re saved by grace, it says in Romans 11, 6, then it is no more of works. Otherwise, grace is not grace. Grace by definition excludes all human works. The next phrase is kind of scary, but if it be of works, then it is no more of grace. Otherwise, work is not work.
If you add any works to salvation, you will not be saved. And this is so important for a person to understand. Let me just illustrate. If I were to give you a glass of pure water, you would not hesitate to drink it. But let’s just say I took a little eyedropper and dropped a couple of drops of poison into that water and kind of switched it around and gave it to you. Would you want to drink it? No. Well, you say, well, you only put a couple of drops in there, but you know those couple of drops would contaminate the whole glass of water, and now you have a glass of poison.
And if you drank it, you would die. You wouldn’t want to do that at all. Let’s see you had a glass full of the grace of God. And you just squeeze off a work, a human work, into that glass of grace. Guess what? It would be poisoned. You would no longer have grace. The Bible says it would know more be of grace once you squeezed off one work what I’m saying here is if you’re trusting in just one work, one work only, you pick out whatever work that might be.
In addition to faith in Christ to get you to heaven by a friend you will not be saved. I’m not splitting hairs. This is just the facts of life. I’ll never forget a number of years ago. I talked to a young man who believed you had to be water baptized to be same. I said you’re not going to heaven, you’re going to go to hell. And he said why? I said because you’re trusting in works plus grace and you’ll not be same.
He said no, I’m not a sedgisuary. He said no, I’m not a sedgisuary. He said no, I’m not a sedgisuary. And I said look, if you are trusting in water baptism, you are adding a human work. to the planet’s salvation and therefore you’ll not have grace and you’ll not be saved well after Some lengthy discussions he finally trusted Jesus alone Recognizing that water baptism doesn’t save but it’s a testimony of a believer after they’re saved as to how they’ve been cleansed of their sin By the blood of Jesus Christ Well, you know as we talked later.
He said you know you’re the first person you are the first person who ever warned me who ever warned me that I was in danger of going to hell because I was adding to what Christ did. He said, thank you so very much. And he had me talk to a number of his friends and lead them to Christ as well, who also believed they had to be water baptized to be saved. I said, as long as you’re trusting in water baptism, church membership, prayer, mass, confirmation, whatever it might be, in addition to faith in Christ, you will not be saved.
Look at the verse again. Romans 11, 6 says, If by grace, Then is it no more of works? Otherwise grace is no more grace, but if it be of works, then it is no more grace. Otherwise work is no more work. I’m telling you it’s scary for those who are adding to salvation. I was raised in a church where it was all works. You had to work work work work work work. You wait a heaven that basically salvation was based on a scale that would be pulled out after you.
you had died and God would put weights on the scale representing your good works versus your bad works and you’d watch the scale and you would hope that the scale would tip in your favor. There’s nothing like that in the Bible. The Bible says Ephesians 2, 8, and 9 that salvation is none of yourself. Verse 9 says it’s none of works. Let’s say he mentioned Boster Bragg. In other words, you can’t Boster Bragg and say, look at what I did or how I contributed No matter how small or insignificant, it’s like the elephant that was crossing on a rope bridge across a chasm.
And the bridge rocked and shook as the elephant crossed the chasm. And a little flea in the ear of the elephant said to the elephant, wow, we sure did shake that thing, didn’t we? Well, the flea’s contribution was about zero, but the flea took credit and he boasted about it. The Bible tells us you cannot boast about your salvation because you have nothing to do with it except to receive it. And so Jesus paid it all. All to him we owe.
Sin had left a crimson stain, but he washed it as white as snow. I am pleading with you for your soul. I’m going to heaven. I have eternal life. I have received Christ as my Savior. There’s nothing that can undo the salvation that occurred when I trusted Christ as my Savior. But I’m concerned about whether you’ll make heaven or not because if you’re trusting in Jesus plus anything, the result will be zero. No salvation. You will not enter heaven.
Paul knew that and he said it in a number of places. He said in 1 Corinthians 1 17 where he said that Christ sent him to preach the gospel. He said not with wisdom of words, 1 Corinthians 1 17, not with wisdom of words lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. Paul knew that if he tried to spice up the gospel by using wisdom of words, he might likely make it avoid message by adding some type of human work to what Christ did.
He was very plain to say he preached Christ only and the cross of Christ only as the means of entrance into heaven. Jesus said it, he said, I am the way, the truth and the life, and no man came unto the father, Bob by me. The only way to heaven is to trust Jesus Christ as your Savior. My friend I pray that you have done that. You could do it right now. You could tell the Lord Lord on the center.
I don’t understand much about the Bible, but I believe Jesus Christ paid my full sin debt. Was buried in rose again from the dead. That he paid for that sin debt by his death and shed blood. And I trust him right now as my only means of reaching heaven and God will. That might seem that you would go out and just live as you please. That’s not really the case. I’ve led many people to Christ and I have hundreds really that are out there serving the Lord on at least five continents that understand that you do zero to be saved.
But now because they’re so grateful they’re spending their life for Christ. That’s what dedication is all about. That’s what servanthood is all about. It’s an understanding according to Romans 12, 1, I beseech you, I plead with you. Paul says there to the Romans that in view of the mercy that God has had upon you, that you would now present your body a living sacrifice. And it says it’s your reasonable service. We don’t do it to become saved, but it’s only reasonable that we recognize that we owe our lives to the Lord because He died for us.
So absolutely we have to live for Christ and serve Christ, but not to be saved. If you are trusting in anything, even just one work, you will contaminate grace. It will be poisoned. If it be of works, it will no more be of grace. If you stood before grace, before God rather, and had no grace, you would not make heaven. I am Dr. Inchins from this is Bibleline. We would love to have you call us. The numbers 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to go to David right now in St.
Petersburg and David, welcome to Bibleline You Are On The Air. Yes, I. I said to him something about TV. He said, you saved by grace. And it’s like, hey, greet just immediately. And then I said, oh, you do, huh? And then he goes, oh, well, you must do your part. You know, it’s like, I said, how is it grace? How can it be grace? And it’s the, have any works at all? And they figured, well, maybe it’s like a sacrament.
You structure your answer again towards how, like, if you were debating a Catholic and how they would throw it all out like a sacrament. and all this other stuff that they do in communion. I mean, just how they would answer, because I came up with, say, but Grace and Ephesians and any man can both. I came up with all that. It’s like, he agreed with it all, but a man’s gotta do his part in blah blah. So how is it gonna be great when you gotta do your part?
It’s like, well, if a man does a work or something like that or infusion with this and that. How do you infuse it and still be the same word? words like you say night. How do you feel? if you stay with night and still be night or vice versa? You can’t. And you know what they do is they say it’s by grace but you have to earn grace which is absolutely contribution to the term and they say the way you earn grace is by keeping the sacraments and that way you earn grace.
Grace cannot be earned by definition it is unmerited, it is undeserved, it is not based upon anything that we have done. God doesn’t give grace based upon something that we do in the way of our obedience or performance. It’s based purely upon His love for us and that’s the marvel about this wonderful gospel message that God so loved the world He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believe in Him should not perish but have eternal life. So unfortunately they’re going to not make heaven if they’re trusting in any work in addition to God’s grace.
Yeah, by the very fact. You’re absolutely right. It’s just this. The answer right there, to me it makes sense that you realize, wait a minute now, I’ll put them together, they don’t mix. Yeah, you’re absolutely right. And a lot of churches do this, not only the Roman Catholic Church, but they say one thing that you say by grace, but in the next phrase they add it back in, they add works back And the Bible of course excludes it. It says like we said in Ephesians 2 8 by grace So you save through faith the next phrase says and that not of yourself Very clearly qualifying that grace is the absence of works Then it says it’s the gift of God and again says not of works list and you mention both so works are totally excluded when you have grace You know, I told them where do you quote from
Peter? It’s like when you get to that it’s like They get to that and then they go 14. I mean I went to it all I don’t get how you can have two words to me and say, if I just came to his house, I said, Hey, do you mind if I fool around with your wife? Oh, but I don’t want to actually fool around with her. What do you mean, you’re on top of her? You know, how do you have not fool around with your wife and not fool around your wife?
How does one not be saying then the English language would mean something? No, I’m not fool around. Not fool around. Not fool around. Not for around me, not for around. We need to pray for these people that they would have their eyes open to see the truth. Because this is the difference between heaven and hell. David, thank you so much. Alright, thank you. That was David in St. Petersburg and this is not splitting a hair. This is the gospel, what it is and isn’t.
We have Harold in Tampa, Florida and Harold, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the earth. Good morning, sir. How are you doing? Good. keep coming back up resurfacing that suicide can send you to hell and I’m going to hang up and let you speak. All right. Thank you, Harold. And suicide is not the unpardonable sin. There is There is only one unpardonable sin and that is rejection of Christ. In John 3 18 you have it. It says, and Jesus is the one who is speaking, he that believeth on Christ is not condemned.
And the tense in the Greek means you’re not condemned at the moment you believe nor from that point on forever thereafter you’re not condemned at all because of trusting Christ. But the next phrase says, but he, believe it’s not… He is condemned already and then it says because because because because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. So the one who dies in unbelief, not having trusted Christ as Savior, is forever lost.
Once you trust Christ, you’ll never be condemned. The Bible tells us in John 5 24, if you believe it says you have eternal life and you’ll not come in the condemnation, but you’re passed from death in the life. And then in John 6, 37, Jesus said, Him that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out. It doesn’t say except for suicide. It says, Him that cometh to me, I will in no wise cast out. So obviously there’s no verse that says that suicide is the unpardonable sin.
It says unbelief is the unpardonable sin. To die without Christ would mean you go to help. When Christ died, He paid for every sin that you would ever commit your whole lifetime past, present, and future. And so if you are a believer, every sin that you would ever commit, including suicide, would be included that Christ paid it all. And when you trust Him, you become saved eternally. I hope that helps. But a lot of folks are taught wrong that suicide is the unpardonable sin is not the unpardonable sin.
We now have Adam in Tampa, Florida and Adam welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. You more about you talk a little bit about communication what happens after you become saved and how much really human effort does it does it you know entail you know I I believe that the birth supernatural birth is spiritual and I believe that the sanitation process is also very spiritual I think that has a lot of control and I just want to know your opinion.
Are you talking about saying sanctification? Yes, sanctification. Okay. You’ll notice sanctification is a once and for all act as far as salvation is concerned in your position in Christ. Hebrews 10 10 says by the the which will by the will of God, we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. So it is by the one time death of Jesus that we are sanctified in God’s sight. Then it says in verse 14 of Hebrews 10 that by one offering we have been perfected forever.
So by that one offering we have been sanctified. The word in the Greek means to make pure and holy. We’re made pure and holy in God’s sight based upon that one time sacrifice of Jesus Christ at the cross of Calvary. And it says in Hebrews 10, 14, by one offering we have been perfected forever. The offering of Christ at the cross perfects someone forever. Now if you were perfected forever, could you be certain going to heaven and the answer is yes, absolutely it would be a yes answer.
Alright, well thank you Adam and I hope that helps and thank you for calling in. We now have Chris in Seminole Florida. Chris, welcome to Bibleline your on there. Oh, hey Pastor, God bless you. Thanks for your service that you do. I just want to get into a clarification from you I guess is what I need in regards to faith. What about the Catholic who is saved at a fairly young age? They can’t be lost. But then he’s called false doctrines where he actually becomes a believer in works.
Now, can you give me a clarification on his state? No, once you’re saved, you’re saved forever. And if that is the case, then he would be never lost. He’d be saved forever. But he’d lose out on the, you know, there’s a freedom that comes by understanding you’re saved forever. And when you get into the bad teaching, then you’re brought into bondage. And you’re always fearful about, if I do this, I’ll go to hell. If I do get that, I’ll go to hell.
Or I could lose my salvation if I’m not careful here. I need to do this and I need to do this. And you know the Catholic Church in particular has all these sacraments in. They keep their parking lot full because you’ll go to hell if you don’t participate in the Mass and all these other things. Which by the way the Mass is unbiblical. Not the fact that Christ died, but the fact that you could offer Him up again as a means of forgiveness of sin every time the Mass is offered is totally a false sacrificial system.
The Bible as we just quoted in Hebrews 10 says by one offering, He has perfected us forever. The Catholic Church has it as a repeated offering which is totally a blasphemy and is absolutely false. Hope that helps a little bit there and thank you so much for your help. Thank you. Alright, and this is Bibleline and we’re coming to you live and we want to say that we’re glad to have you with us each and every day. Thank you for tuning in to the Bibleline program.

We have one that’s on a cell phone and in Richmond, Virginia.
And welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Yes. And I wanted to ask you about something that has been presented to me from a powerful ministry, and that is that grace is given by God for salvation, but only to a few. That only a few are chosen, and I try to combat that with, you know, he says, well, whosoever will, and they will say, well, nobody would unless he chose them and they go back to. Well, that’s really wrong teaching because the Usoever will is really correct that anyone and everyone is invited to trust Christ as Savior.
And the chosen part is that God chooses to save those that believe. You have it in John 3.16 that Usoever, believeth in Christ, should not perish, but God chose before the foundation of the world that He said that he should have ever-lasting life. But the negative is also true that if you don’t believe, God has chosen that you will not be given eternal life, but you will perish. So as the old Moody said it years ago, he said that the whosoever wills are of the elect.
The chosen and the whosoever won’t are the non-elect or the non-chosen. And so there’s no verse that says anything different. In Romans 8, there it talks about he predestinated those whom he foretold. He got in his ability to know the future, knew that there would be many that would believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. And those that he foreknew would believe he predestined for them that they would not only go to heaven, but they would be given a body like Christ’s body.
And they would be eventually in heaven conformed to the very image of Christ himself. But he’s not saying that he’s making the choice for them. with all those who make the choice, he has chosen them to go to heaven. So once you trust Christ, you are then one of the chosen. And if you die without Christ, then you were never chosen because he only chooses to say those that believe. Well, I thank you, and that is truly what I believe, but it’s very difficult when you know, when you’re presented with the other side.
But I thank you so much for your response. Well, thank you. And obviously there are those who are Calvinists that teach that God has already made the choice for you. And that’s not true. God does not make your choice for you. In fact, if it were up to God and he didn’t choose based upon belief, then everybody would go to heaven because it says in 2 Peter chapter 3 verse 9 that it’s not God’s will that any should perish.
that all should come to the change of mind, call repentance, and that all would be saved. So it’s got to love the world. He wants everybody to be saved. So Christ died for everyone, but He only chooses to save those that put their trust in Christ as their Savior. We’re now going to go to Matthew. He’s in Berkshire County in Massachusetts. And so welcome from Massachusetts to the Bible and program. Matthew, you’re on the air. Okay, thank you. Okay.
Hi Dr. Lynch from? Yes. All right thank you. Enjoy your show. Thank you. The other night I watched Happen to come across this channel that’s EWTN and they had a Catholic apologist that said that Eapers 12 22 3 For to give them to the spirit to the saints and get the reference in the book of Revelations as well. But they mentioned something about incense and that sort of thing. So I looked at Hebrews 12 verse 22 to 23, things quite get that sense.
No, not at all. There’s really a far stretch and that’s usually what they have to do. I would recommend 1 Timothy 2 5 where it says there’s one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. And we’re to simply go directly to the Father through Christ, not through a saint, not through Mary, not through any other mediator, a priest or anyone else. We can go directly to the throne of God through Jesus Christ as Savior.
And we’re forbidden to pray to the dead, which are the saints that have died. We are forbidden to do that. Isaiah 819 says absolutely no, no, no, no, no, we’re not to pray to the dead or to angels and in verse 20 of Isaiah 8 the next verse it says if they don’t speak according to this word, the word of God concerning that it says it’s because there’s no light in them. So here’s a very damaging verse that says those who teach you can pray to the saints and that encourage it are they have no light in them.
These people are absolutely violating the Word of God. I see. They said that if your church wasn’t teaching you this, that you weren’t able to do that. Well, isn’t that interesting? The Bible says there’s no light in them because that’s forbidden. We are only to pray to God and through Jesus Christ who is the one mediator. And yet they believe that the saints are all mediators and all can intercept and answer first. You know, this all came out of paganism.
The Roman religion of paganism had about 5,000 gods. Each god was assigned a particular role in order to help you. They had to travel, they got to health, they got to dentistry, they got to medicine, they got to whatever. And then they decided to include paganism into Christianity. And so these became now saints. So they were renamed, but they’re still out there. I have a Catholic encyclopedia right near me here and it lists hundreds of different saints that have those roles.
Everything from St. Christopher on down. And by the way they do say that St. Christopher so he’s no longer able to help you anymore because he’s just plain Christopher. Christopher. So it’s a crazy system where they can remove the Miss Saints and Adam Miss Saints and then they have, you know, if you’ve got a toothache, you pray to a particular saint and there’s a saint for every need you have to pray to and we’re forbidden to do that. Wouldn’t that all come if you can further in that they have a Godlike quality of palm mission?
Well, absolutely. That they would know all about your circumstances and only Christ knows that. You’re absolutely right. Matthew thank you for calling. Thank you. Matthew in Massachusetts calling in today for the Bible and program. We now have Gene in DeBary Florida and that’s over on the east side of What’s the matter? Gene, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Hey Pastor Links from Salvation by Faith. It’s such a simple thing and I can almost sometimes understand what people get confused because they see different scriptures.
They almost look like their country, dicting themselves but they’re really not if they would slow down and take those passages apart. I’m retired law enforcement and when I first started we We had a little thing that kind of taught us the basics and it was what we called the KISS method, K-I-S-S. Keep it simple, stupid. Look at what you’re reading. You know, look at what you’re seeing, you’re observing, and take it, you know, one step at a time. You know, really…
And I believe this, the instant we believe, we are immediately justified. God doesn’t wait for our good works before He declares this justice. We are all sinners when this declaration comes. And true faith always produces real conformity to Christ. If justification happens to us, then justification will surely follow. And part of this, I know I get from different places, but Martin Luther said justification is by faith alone, but not by a faith that is alone. And then if you go to James 2, 26, he goes, faith without deeds is dead.
So just take the faith as your salvation, that’s all you need. And surely if you’re truly, you know, conformed to Christ, the rest fall in line. I mean, that’s simple. I don’t see where they miss in the boat and there’s so many people to see that there. I hear it every day and Gene thanks for your call. Thank you so much. Alright, once you trust Christ then we certainly ought to live for Christ. I don’t know what Jesus saying, but we don’t do it in order to become saved.
It says in Ephesians 2, 8, and 9 that we’re saved by Faith Without Works. But verse 10 says, we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus. That’s the new birth unto good works, which God says that we ought to or should walk in them. This is something we ought to do. It’s not a part of our salvation. But is the opportunity for a believer to earn rewards in heaven as a result. We have now Pastor John calling in and he’s calling in from Orlando, Florida and Pastor John welcome to Bibleline you are on the air turn your radio down.
We hear that in the background The national okay radio is still too loud. I hear it in the background. Yes I really enjoy your your teaching but I have a problem with our perspective because What I’ve seen in the gathering is that if we teach a Roman 10 and I, if I will confess with our mouth Lord Jesus and believe in our heart that God is waiting for the dead, only believe and trust and that’s it. And I believe in my opinion that’s the letter of the law but the spirit of the law is there must be obedience.
And I don’t hear that coming too strong. you have to comment on that please. There is no obedience on our part to be saved except to the command to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. What is interesting when you look up that word disobedient in the Bible, it’s always referring to those that are disobedient to the gospel that refuse to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and those will be lost because they disobeyed the gospel message to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and those be saved.
The obedient are those who have been obedient to that command and trust Christ to save you. For example, 2 Thessalonians, chapter 1 says that Christ will come back at his Second Coming in flaming fire, taking vengeance on all of them that know not God and that obey not, obey not, obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. So those that Do not obey the gospel. The one that will be lost and we obey the gospel by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ or trusting him.
And we disobey the gospel by not believing on the Lord Jesus Christ. And that’s exactly in line with what we said earlier that the unpardonable sin is unbelief. And that the way that you become saved is to believe John 3 18. He that believes it on Christ is not condemned. But he that believe it not is condemned already. If I never serve the Lord a day, I would still be saved. Service comes from a wanting to show God that we’re grateful and thankful and want to please Him because of what He’s done for us.
But if you’re serving for any other reason, like trying to get yourself into heaven, you’ll not be saved at all because you’re really not trusting Christ as your Savior. You’re not obedient to the gospel. The Gospel message is one of faith in Christ alone apart from works. If you don’t obey that message, to be saved you will not be saved at all. But after we are saved I believe certainly we should be living for Christ. I challenge people to do that.
We are praying that every believer will become a servant of Christ, but not to be saved. what would happen if you were what what do we put in the equation if the soul the soul that finished shall die that not if i go back into some of our own habits based on my understanding of the scripture i’m practicing sin and that’s right and and what will happen to you’ll die it’s talking about physical death uh… a lot of christians died too early they don’t have to pesakiah almost died because his life was uh…
in that kenaldisserie and the lord warned him and he straightened his life up and the lord gave him fifteen more years but you’ll definitely die physically. I’ve buried people too young because of their sin. I know one christian man he was just thirty and died of alcohol. Handsome, white but just hooked on his alcohol and I’ve buried quite a number of people with drug habits that died in their twenties. Shouldn’t have died, but their sin took their life, but they’re still saved.
So you say it’s not a spiritual death, it’s a physical death? That’s what he’s talking about. Yeah, it’s a physical death that will occur to you. If you look at 1 Corinthians 5, it talks there about a man who’s saved. He’s living in fornication with his mother, probably his stepmother. He’s proud, he’s puffed up, he’s not willing to quit. And it says in verse 5, to deliver such a one in the Satan for the destruction of the flesh that the Spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
So here it’s saying Satan is going to be allowed to kill that man to take his life, but yet his Spirit will still be saved in the day when Christ returns at the end of the Rapture. So here’s a man that the Lord took home to heaven early. 1 Corinthians 1130 says that many Corinthian believers because they were living in sin, for this caused many of your weak, many of your sickly, and many of your dead. So the Lord took many believers home to heaven early, and it says in the verses following that if we would only get our lives in order, that we would not be judged.
But when we as Christians are judged, we are chastened of the Lord that we should not be condemned with the world. The world will go to hell, but the believer will not go to hell the believer will be spanked and maybe the lord might take you home to have an early okay thank you doctor mister one more quickly if a woman paul said a woman is not to speak about it in in church now if i do a a strict interpretation of that that might mean too many she can’t give a testimony and and i i guess i might again i’m back to if i go with just a letter and don’t do it with the spirit of the law I think that’s where me and you are on different pages.
I know the letter says… Well, the women should not. And basically, if you read Timothy for further clarification, it says, they’re not to teach, nor do you serve authority over the man. If the male leadership gives permission for her to speak, she can speak, but otherwise, no, she’s not to open her mouth at all. Not that can’t you give a testimony? not less uh… male leadership give her the permission to do so okay that would be a bit she’s speaking but also don’t speak that’s right she’s supposed to be subject to her husband into the uh…
leadership of the church is not to speak out on her own she cannot just interrupt service and and speak We had a lady come into our service and just all of a sudden stood up and said she had a message from the church and that she started speaking. And I told her she was out of order and that if she didn’t stop, that we would escort her out. And she did sit back down and got quiet. But she doesn’t have the right to just stand up and take over the service.
And she jumped up right there in the sermon and wanted to preach to everybody there. that is not allowed. Well of course, of course, but women are told that they did not have the right to do that. Men are placed in leadership. Yes sir. Alright. Thank you sir. Thank you and again, the Bible wants order in the church service and it says that really only one person should speak at a time in church. So when somebody else speaks over someone else that’s out of water whether you’re male or female.
We do have Shirley in Lakeland, Florida. Shirley, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Shirley, hi Shirley, you’re on the air. Okay. I’ve heard him preach. He cannot lose your salvation. That’s correct. And I was just wanting him to explain Hebrew and I’ll hang up and listen to it. Okay, Shirley. In Hebrews 6 it says it is not possible for those who have been once enlightened. And at least five things which tell us that these are people that are genuinely saved and are born again.
It says to renew them again under repentance. The repentance there is a change of mind that took place when the person got saved. What it’s saying here, it’s impossible for you to become saved again if you have fallen away from serving the Lord or got away from God. You don’t become saved again. You begin to serve again. So what it’s saying there is not that you can lose your salvation. In fact, the operating opposite is true. It says that it’s impossible for you to become saved again, that if you attempt to become saved again by going back to that decision you made when you trusted Christ, it says you would crucify Jesus Christ again, notice what it says to yourself and put Christ in open chain because you’re saying that the one time death of Jesus Christ was not sufficient to save you eternally, that you have to go back and
become saved again and again and again. And that’s wrong. It’s saying here in that passage in Hebrews 6 and verse 9, we’re talking about things that accompany salvation. In verse 10, it says, God has done unrighteous to forget your labor of love. God is going to reward you and bless you for your faithful labor for Christ after your saved. But if you get away from the Lord and stop serving Him, it’s impossible for you to go back and become saved again.
I’ll never forget Shirley. I was talking to one lady and she said that she had lost her salvation seven times and I said and I put on my saddest face I could produce and I said oh the whole band because she used this passage to say you lose your salvation Hebrews six four through six and I said I feel so badly for you my heart goes out to you she said why I said because you’re going to hell and there’s nothing anybody can do about it you can’t do anything about it, I can’t do anything about it, because if this verse means what you’re saying, it says once you have lost it, you can’t ever get it back.
And all of a sudden she changed her tune and she said, well, she came close to losing it seven times. She really hadn’t lost it because she realized the verse was saying that she could never get it back. If that’s what you think it means, if you lost it, you can’t get it back, but it’s not saying you, you can’t get it back and saying you can’t go back and become saved again because once you’re saved, you’re saved forever.
And what you need to do is get serving again, because you can pick yourself back up and get serving the Lord again and still get in on the rewards and blessings that He wants to still upon you for your faithful service. I hope that helps a little bit, Charlie. And I don’t hear surely now, so maybe surely it’s gone. But once you’re saved, you’re saved forever. You cannot be lost. Well, I’m Dr. Ankeland Strimman.
