Thanks for tuning into the broadcast We look forward to being with you each and every day as we come to you live Monday through Friday from Tampa, Florida from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church We’re so glad to be with you today and thanks for tuning in and we hope that you’ll Enjoy us every day as we come to you from our studios here in Tampa And by the way, we’re getting close to Christmas and that’s exciting.
This is a great time the witness, great time to talk about Jesus. And certainly this is a good time to get into your Bible and share the real, the true story about Christmas. And we have lots of resources here in our Resource Center that will be enabling you to be able to be an effective witness for Christ. I’ve got a series of my teachings, 10 hours of teaching on CD on how to lead a soul to Christ. That was a very, very powerful class.
We had a lot of folks take that class when we actually did it live and when we got through the entire class stood and applauded they found that they were already affected before we ever finished the class. You might want to get that series very, very good and we have about 40 different series on CD that are available plus we have some series available on DVD. We just finished recently here the Gospel of John, 20 hours of teaching and we broke Looking into two parts, part one and part two.
Part one is a nice book like jacket that holds the CDs and that’s for gift to $50. And part two also is a gift to $50 but that makes it easy so you don’t have to buy the whole set at one time. We also have the whole series all 20 hours on DVD so you can actually watch and listen at the same time. A lot of folks are using these in different ways, not only in their car or in their home, but sometimes they use them to facilitate a Bible study.
They have people over play a portion of the class, have discussion, have refreshments, and it facilitates a study school class or a home Bible study. That’s exciting. You might think about different ways you might use some of these. It might make a great gift for someone for Christmas. We didn’t really go to Israel. It will be trip number 15 for me. We’ll leave February 25th on a Monday or return on March 7th, a Friday, 12 full days in Israel.
We’re going to do some very, very special things. We’ll be baptizing in the Jordan River. If you have not been water baptized, this would be a great opportunity to be baptized right there in the Jordan River. We’ll also get a chance to float in the Dead Sea. You can’t possibly drown in the Dead Sea. you float right on top of the water. It’s quite a thrilling experience and people that have a fear of water all of a sudden find this the most enjoyable experience of their life.
And we’ll be seeing many things along the edge of the dead, including the Kumaan caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. And we’ll just have a wonderful time seeing in Getty where they have a wildlife sanctuary with biblical animals in the wild and we’ll be able to see them. A beautiful waterfall there. This is the place that King David liked to go to. We’ll go to Masada and ride the cable car to the top. The last holdout of the Jews in AD 70.
We’ll go to a beautiful hotel down on the southern part of the Dead Sea and there we’ll enjoy the Dead Sea and get to float. will come back and shower, get the swim in their fresh water swimming pool, you can use their hot mineral baths there and so on and so on and we’ll have a wonderful dinner in the evening overlooking the Dead Sea. It’s going to be a beautiful experience plus much much more. You can find all that information on my website BibleLineMinistries.org or .com and if you just click on Bibleline news on the home page.
Everything will open up the full brochure, the full itinerary. All the things you need to know, if you need help, call or 800 number and we’ll guide you through the whole system or we’ll mail you the brochure or whatever you need. But let me encourage you to get thinking about it quickly here because you will save if you sign up on the 10th of December or before $100. If you wait till the 11th of December, it’ll cost you another 100 and I believe it jumps up again on January 11th.
So you can still sign up. but I would recommend that you save that savings and get going and make sure that you’re ready to get all your things in order to go. We’ll help you and certainly I hope you’ll be on board with me on that trip. We’re also going to be having our third Sunday dinner on the 16th of this month and we’ll have our Christmas celebration service with a great big Christmas celebration dinner. You’re invited to be my guest.
Bring your family, your appetite and by the way if you can’t come come to any of these things because you live in another city, you can join our worship service on the internet, on our website by Blind Ministries, just go to the camera. If you do that at 11 o’clock on Sunday morning, the video and the audio will come up and you’ll be able to watch. We have a guest in our studio right now from New York who listens up there in Albany, New York, and he says he’s been watching those sermons.
We’re so glad to have him sitting in the day as he’s come down here to tampon, stop to see us. You’re welcome to visit our bookstore on the Resource Center on the internet. Just go to Bible Administries.org and click on the online bookstore and click on the spinning globe. You’ll get the radio, click on the TV set, you’ll get the television programs so much it’ll keep you busy, busy, busy, busy. Anyway, we’re going to get into the Bible then we’ll take our calls.
We already have people calling in and welcome to you We are so glad to be back up on the air down there and we have a caller from Hylia. We will be taking that call in just a few minutes. We are now going to go to the Bible. I want to say Happy Hanukkah. Did you know we are into Hanukkah right now? I just started the other night and there is eight days of celebration. This holiday amazingly is only mentioned in the New Testament.
Not the Old Testament. I love to be able to tell Jewish people that you know that Hanukkah is not in the Old Testament, it’s only in the New Testament and it all has to do with Jesus. Happy Hanukkah! Well, that is a big surprise for Jewish folks to find that out. And they look kind of dumbfounded, but it’s true. You might want to take a few notes today as we take a look at the one place in the Bible where Hanukkah is mentioned.
In BC 165 there were a group of zealot priests called Maccabees that actually delivered Jerusalem in the temple there from the rule of the Greeko-Roman emperor or ruler called Anticus Epiphanes. He was certainly a type of the Antichrist and he came in and defiled the temple and he offered a pig which was an unclean animal on the altar there and these Jews were outraged and with a small group they completely liberated Jerusalem and the temple and they started the temple worship again and in order to have it begin they lighted the menorah the seven branch candles stick inside the temple and they only had one day’s oil and it stayed lighted for eight days and that’s why you have the eight days of Hanukkah.
It’s called the Festival of Lights. It’s called the Feast of Dedication and if you go to John chapter 10, Jesus on purpose comes to the temple on Hanukkah. And it says here it was at Jerusalem. That’s where the temple was which is not existed today, was destroyed in 8070 for the second time and it says it was the Feast of or the Feast of Dedication which is if you want to write in your margin of your Bible, Hanukkah or the Festival of Lights and it says it was winter and it’s winter.
I talked to people in Virginia today, they said they had about three inches of snow, I talked to my sister in Ohio, today she said they had about five inches of snow where she is, it’s winter right now and people are experiencing snow and by the way it does snow in Jerusalem and i’ve been there when the snow was falling on the temple mount while i stood up on top of the at temple mount so here’s truth lon it’s wintertime is the feast of dedication Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon’s porch.
Jesus comes walking into the temple on Hanukkah. Then came the Jews around about him and said to him, how long do you make us to doubt? If you are the Christ, the Messiah, tell us plainly. Notice the question. Wow! They’re asking, are you the Messiah? Are you the Christ? And if you are, tell us plainly and look at the answer that Jesus gives in John 10, 25. He says, I told you and you believed not. The works that I do in my father’s name, they bear witness of me, but you believe not.
Because you were not of my sheep, as I said unto you. Well, he made it very plain. I’ve told you that I’m the Messiah and you don’t believe it. It’s interesting here that Hanukkah is about Jesus. You see, the festival, the Feast of Dedication is about the rededication of the temple, and guess what? The temple was built for God, and Jesus is God, and here He comes to the temple that was really built for Him, and they reject Him on the day that they commemorate the liberation of and the rededication of the temple.
Isn’t that amazing? It is interesting today that Hanukkah today is somewhat of a dead observance for Jewish people because they are celebrating the rededication of their temple which now has not existed for 2000 years. So they are celebrating something that does not even exist. Hanukkah is about the temple in Jerusalem which was destroyed in 8070 and so they missed their Messiah and because they rejected him, Jesus predicted in Matthew 24 that the temple would be destroyed and not one stone would be less standing upon another and how true that is.
Jesus said in verse 27, my sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me. Jesus is God and those who are sheep or those that are saved hear his voice. You know it says in John 524, Jesus said, very, very, very, I say unto you, he that heareth my word and believe it on him that sent me, has everlasting life. Show not come into condemnation, put his past from death in the life. So when you hear the voice of Jesus and believe his invitation of how to be saved by trusting him as your Savior, you obviously become saved.
And Jesus says, my sheep, hear my voice and I know them. Jesus knows everyone who is a believer. He knows who you are and you are one of his. The shepherd knows his sheep and we become sheep when we trust Christ as Savior and Jesus becomes our shepherd. David said that in the 23rd Psalm, the Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want. David, King David, believed in Jesus the good shepherd that gave his life for the sheep and David was saved as a result.
Isn’t that great? Notice what Jesus says in verse 28 here in John 10, and I give unto them my sheep those that believe on me eternal life, not temporary life, but eternal life. And they shall never perish. They shall never perish. What does that mean? It means you’ll never go to hell because the parish is to pay the payment for sin which is death. And the second death, according to Revelation 20 verse 14, is to be cast into the everlasting lake of fire.
Here it says, the believer will not only have eternal life, but will never go to hell, never perish, never perish, never perish. And the last thing he says here in this wonderful verse is that neither shall any pluck them out of my hand. To be lost, someone would have to be more powerful than Jesus. Jesus is God. That’s impossible. No one could pluck you out of the hand of Christ as he keeps you saved and he holds on to you.
I’ll never forget as a little boy I was crossing a dangerous intersection that in Miami, Florida, where I was born and raised. And my dad grabbed onto my hand and he held it as we were crossing that intersection and it hurt. I said, Dad, you’re hurting my hand. Let go. Let me hold on to you. And he said, no, I will not let go until you’re safely on the other side of the intersection. He knew that if I was holding on to him I might let go at the wrong moment and perhaps I would be overrun by a fast moving car through the intersection and he said no I’m not gonna let go well my hand hurt and I definitely knew he was holding on to me And he wasn’t gonna let go until I was safely on the other side and the same thing is true about
Christ He holds on to you He will not let go until you’re in heaven. He gives you eternal life, John 1028, and he says you’ll never go to hell. You’ll never perish. And thirdly he says no one can pluck you out of my hand. He holds you tightly and will not let go till you’re safely in heaven. By the way, that all happened on Ponica and What happened the Jews then took up stones to stone him and they wanted to kill him on Hanukkah Because they rejected him Amazing so happy Hanukkah everybody.
It’s really to me. It’s a Christian holiday It’s all about Jesus for whom the temple was built and when Jesus was here at his first coming he walks in to the temple on Hanukkah and They immediately ask him the big question which is the question if you’re the Messiah. How long do you wait to tell us? Tell us plainly. Christ said, I’ve told you and you believe me not. Then of course they rejected him and took up stones to stone him on Hanukkah.
Happy Hanukkah everybody. It’s a Christian really celebration and don’t forget it. It’s a great witnessing opportunity to tell Jewish people. And by the way, to be fair, it couldn’t be in the Old Testament because the Old Testament was completed 500 years before Jesus came. And it was during those silent years when God withdrew the prophets and it was no more Bible being added, BC 165, that Hanukkah took place. So it really couldn’t be included in the Old Testament. And here it is, celebrated in the New Testament, and Jesus, of course, on that very occasion, the Feast of Dedication, the Festival of Lights, Hanukkah, Jesus walks into the temple and is rejected.
Exciting stuff. I’m Dr. Englins from this Bible and we’re going to go to the phone lines. We invite you to call us during Hanukkah here, and you can dial us up at 1-800-576-3771. We have Claudia down in highly, Florida, and welcome to Bibleline, and you’re on the air. Oh, hi. Good morning, sir. It’s a pleasure and an honor to speak to you. Thank you. Thank you. I have a question, and I hope it’s an appropriate question. I’ve been a Christian most of my life, I’m 42 years old, but I really never started reading the Bible.
I never read the Bible until about seven years ago. And I mean, it’s been a blessing in my life. Daily Bible reading. It really is. My concern is with the different versions and translations, I mean, I was happy with the one that I had. And so someone said, oh, no, no, that one is not right. Try this one. And I’ve had different friends give me different ones. And I’m like, oh, we can choose as far as like, which one I should be reading, or if there are any bad ones, which one are the better ones.
And I was hoping you could help me with that. OK. Well, clearly, there’s a lot of bad ones out there. The modern translations, many of them have lots and lots of deletions and changes and they change the meaning. This is sad. There is a book that we have in our resource center here called New Age Bible Versions that exposes about 20 of these and shows what has gone awry. What I recommend and what I use is the old Schofield reference Bible.
the King James Bible, but the King James has its flaws. It’s not a perfect Bible, but the King James is usually better than this new one because for every problem that they solve, they usually add extra problems that make it even worse. So I recommend the Old Scofield and the notes in the Scofield will help you where a word has changed meaning or whether there is something that has come to light over the past 400 and something years since it came out that needs to be addressed.
The Schilfield Bible does a great job on that. By the way, the King James is written at a fifth or sixth grade level and if you are going to get one of these other newer ones, every one of them are three to five years of greater difficulty of reading than the King James. In other words, they’re written at a more difficult level of reading than the King James. Isn’t that amazing? The only problem people have is usually with the endow and a few of those are king.
But they disappear in just a very short period of time. I’ve been leading people to Christ every year and I put people right into a King James Old School field and within a month or two of studying, at least with me, or on Bibleline, the These are now go away and they have no difficulty at all. And I would recommend that one to you. I was pretty comfortable with what I had until I got to John 752 via the story of the adulterous.
Yes. I was in there but I was shocked when I saw something that said, you know, this is not found in the oldest Bible or something like that. And I thought, wait a second, did that happen or didn’t? It did happen. And you know when they talk about the oldest doesn’t necessarily mean better. And they’re talking about, you know, the old Bible. two manuscripts that have been in the custodial care of the Roman Catholic Church, the Vaticanus and the Sinaiticus and they’re older but I believe they’ve been corrupted.
Nobody has ever yet been able to see those originals. They have made copies which I don’t trust that they are accurately given out as copies but nobody’s been allowed to actually go and take a look at the originals during the custodial care there in the Vatican of the Roman County Church and the big fuss is made about these and I just have a great deal of difficulty buying into that. And usually when you see those in the footnotes they don’t tell you that it is those particular manuscripts we’re talking about, Codex A and Codex B.
Well thank you so much for calling and I hope you’re enjoying Bible and down to Miami. Oh yes, God bless you, thank you for your help. Alright, thank you. We now are going to another call from Miami. We have Bert and Bert. Welcome to Bibleline from Miami, Florida. Oh, Jose, 14A. Okay. It says, Ephraim, Chelsea, what have I to do with any more, with idols? I have heard him and observed him. I am like a green fir tree. For me, it’s our fruit found.
And I I don’t know who Ephraim is. Well, Joseph had two sons, Ephraim and Manassas, and that’s who that is. And so it represents that particular tribe of Joseph. Joseph got a double blessing. The descendants of the tribe of Joseph are Ephraim and Manassas. And Ephraim is that fruitful branch that would come forth from Joseph. So that’s not the Lord speaking there. No. OK, thank you. You’re welcome. Thank you, Bert, in Miami, Florida. We now have Albert in Richmond, Virginia.
And Albert, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Air. Hey Hank, welcome back to Miami. This is Bert from Miami. Oh, wonderful. OK. But you’re in, I don’t know how we got rich enough here, but Albert, welcome. Very good. Well, we’ll glad to have you back here again. Thank you. And Luke chapter 1, verse 17, which is page 1071 of your Scoville Bible. I like that. Luke 117, go ahead. Okay, well he speaks about it and he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias.
If you look at the footnotes there, Scofield sends you to Malachi 4.5 and Peter Mote on Matthew 17.5. And my question is, are there two prophecies being fulfilled here that it’s speaking about in malachite four and five about John the Baptist and then it is speaking about Elijah during the tribulation period. Are both those things fulfilled in that malachite four or five? Alright well here’s what the story is. It is talking about what will happen after the rapture during the tribulation period when malachite comes back.
A rather amina Elijah comes back according to Malachi’s prophecy. But had the Jewish people received Christ as their king and his first coming, then John the Baptist would have been the fulfillment of that prophecy and that’s really what it’s saying is that God in his foreknowledge knew that Israel would reject their king and that God would turn to us Gentiles for the past 2000 years and And then he would send Elijah back after the Rapture before the second coming and that’s what’s going to happen.
So hopefully that helps a little bit and those passages are about that. Okay. Thank you. And by the way, Miami, we have to say goodbye for you right now because you’re going to go off the air and we’re going to continue with our other stations. And so thanks for tuning in today down in Miami and join us tomorrow. We’re inviting you to listen on the Internet if you ever lose our program. You can hear us 24-7 by going to BibleLineMinistries.org.com.
We now have Henry in Palm Harbor, Florida. Welcome to Bibleline You’re on the earth. Dr. Hank, thank you for answering the tick of my call. Actually about a life-principled Bible by Charles Stanley. I’ve been using this for the last year. So have you studied that Bible? I haven’t studied it very much, but again, it’s probably not very…it’s probably fine. But what I like about the Schulfield is that the notes are regared to doctrine. I think that’s the foundation of the Christian and life application is good to have maybe as a secondary Bible.
But if you look at 2 Timothy 3 16, it says, all scriptures given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine is the first thing. Then it says, for reproved for instruction in righteousness or righteous living. So the life application would come further down the line as far as importance according to scripture. Dr. Ingrid is the first and that’s why I recommend the Scofield first as the primary viable and one of these others as a secondary. I have probably, I don’t know how many Bibles.
I’ve got tons of them about everything that’s out there on the market. But the Scofield is my favorite. One that I see you use on third. That is not the large print, but we do have the large print and it’s a little bit larger than that one. Uh-huh. Oh, okay Dan. Well, I’ll get back with you. Thank you for your help. You’re very welcome and I’m Dr. Ingrid Lindstrom and if you want to help Bibleline, you can give a gift.
give a gift by credit card over the phone. We are listener supported. You can also call and ask for an elbow to be sent and you can mail a gift in Bible and that would help us, especially here at Christmas. Give a gift if you would to the Lord through giving to Bible and to keep this program on the air. Well, we’re going to take a break. We’ll come right back into a second half hour. So don’t go away.
Stay tuned right here. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Alright I’m Dr. Englund, it’s great to be with you today and while we had three calls from Miami 1, 2, 3 in a row, that’s exciting. We’re glad to be back on the air down in Miami and we hope that all of you are rejoicing with us when we’re able to reach out further with Bibleline. We’re able to do that only because people give to Bibleline and if you did not give, our listeners didn’t give, we wouldn’t be able to be on the air.
Thank God for all of you. Here we come into the last month of the year, Christmas time. When you think about the wise men, they gave all their gifts to Christ. Yet today, Christmas has so turned around that, generally, when people make up their shopping list, they don’t even include Jesus. He’s not even on their list. They don’t even think about giving to Christ. Well, this is a time if we’re to follow the pattern of the Bible to give to the Lord.
Maybe you’d like to give a gift to Bible as a gift to the Lord to keep Bibleline on the ear, to keep this message going out and to allow us to reach as many people as possible to how Jesus comes back. We’re very, very lean and mean here as far as the way we operate. We don’t pay any salaries. And that allows us to go further with the money that comes in because we’re able to, and that includes myself, I’m supported by the church and so I don’t have to take a salary from Bibleline.
We are taking this money and shoving it right back in to get us up on the airways. Pray for us as we try to reach out. Again, I want you to go to Israel with me. I’ll leave February 25th of Monday, coming back March 7th of Friday, 12 full days in Israel. We’re going to have a wonderful, wonderful time. And we’ll study the Bible from morning to night all day long as we go and visit the sites. We’ll open our Bible and we’ll talk about the Scriptures and what a learning experience.
I believe and I had those that have taught me years ago tell me that a trip to Israel is like a year’s worth of intensive Bible teaching. It really is. You’re taking in geography, you’re taking in customs, you’re taking in the scriptures, you’re taking in everything, the environment and it makes the Bible live when you come home. Call us and we’ll tell you how you can get on board with us. The information is all there on our website. If you get a Bibleline news on the homepage, click on that and the full brochure, the itinerary everything is there for you to download and print out.
And I recommend you sign up early. You get a $100 discount if you sign up before the 11th on December 10th is the last so you can get that $100. Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Dr. Hank Lindstrom. And if you can give a gift for the month of December, the Bibleline would be great call, and you could do that over the phone by credit card. We’re about ready to rejoin the stations that have been on break and do a second half hour Bibleline, so don’t go away.
Keep your ready to dial tune right where it is, as we’re ready right now to do Bibleline too. And you like to call by the line and ask Dr. Linz from a question? You can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800. 576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. We’re back for a break. This is Bible and we’re coming to you live from Tampa, Florida, from our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church. And thank you for tuning in today.
It’s exciting to be able to be with you every day. And God bless all of you who listen, and for all of you who give the Bible on because we do not have another secondary means of support. We trust totally the Lord’s supply through people just like you who are listening and we thank you so very, very much for being a part of the Bibleline program. Your gifts and your prayers are definitely appreciated and if you want to give a gift this month you can give it by credit card over the phone We hope that you will do that.
Also, you can ask for an envelope to be sent, and we can mail you an envelope, and you can send your gift in here to Bible on. Well, we are coming up on this Israel trip rather fast. We’d love to have you go. We leave February 25th, coming back March 7th. That’s leaving you on a Monday, coming back on a Friday. 12 full days in Israel. My 15th trip. We’re going to have a great time. We’re going to be baptizing in the Jordan.
If you haven’t been baptized, we’ll baptize you in the Jordan. Several are definitely planning to do that while we’re there. Usually every trip. In fact, without exception, I can’t remember a trip where we didn’t baptize people in the Jordan River. What an exciting thing. Some people like to bring water back from the Jordan and a little container and so on. And certainly you’re welcome to do all those kinds of things. We’re going to take a swim or a float in the Dead Sea because it’s a saltiest body of water on the face of the earth.
enjoy the healing waters of the Dead Sea. People come from all over the world there with skin problems and find tremendous healing from soaking in that water. Can’t stand very long. It will burn your skin if you do, but 20 minutes is about all you should probably stay in and we’ll have a great time. On several occasions I’ve gotten out and got a big about 8 or 10 pound stone, put it on stomach and I’m still floating on my back with my arms and feet out of the water.
Amazing. Well, you’ll thrill to try some of these things in Israel. In any case, call us and we’ll help you through the process of finding out how to go. And if you go to the website, all the information is there. If you go to Bible and News and click on it, you’ll be able to pull that up. We’re excited about our webcast. We have now been webcasting our Sunday messages for over a year. In our archives, there’s years with the messages you can watch and listen to on the internet.
Go to BibleLineMinistries.org and if you’ll click on the camera, if you do it on Sunday morning at 11 o’clock, you’ll pull up the live service and you’ll see it exactly live as I give the message. But then throughout the week you can go back and listen and watch a year’s worth of messages. Same thing is for radio. You can download the radio programs for your iPod and you can, if you have a video iPod, you can download our TV programs and carry those with you.
We have so many things on the website that will really keep you busy and I hope you’ll take advantage of all those. Our Resource Center has lots of things now. If you want to get that Scofio Bible for a loved one or a friend, a nephew, a niece, a husband or wife, we have them right now. the one that you will not find in your bookstore, the old Scofield reference. And again, it’s geared to doctrine. If you want to know about angels, if you want to know about Satan, if you want to know about the Trinity, if you want to know about the Godhead, if you want to know about Jesus, if you want to know about evolution or inspiration or creation, everything is right there in the notes that will really help you.
It’s quite a remarkable Bible and we recommend that this is the one that I use. Well, we’re going to go to the phone lines. We have people calling in from all over and we are going to go to David in St. Petersburg and David, welcome the Bible and you’re on the air. to their work, it takes that to actually end up being saved in that backhanded flat foot with Jesus doing the cross to require some of their work to help make Jesus blood more valuable in this payment of their salvation.
You’re absolutely right. and to be saved you have to be like as the night. nine thief and you trust in nothing but Jesus because he was unable to put his confidence or trust in anything. He was dying. He was nailed to the cross. And he simply believed in Christ and today, thou shall be with me in paradise. And that’s the only way anybody can be saved. It seems to be a real hurdle for people to get beyond their works and the thought that they have to do something in addition to trusting Christ as their Savior.
The Bible makes it very clear that we can do nothing, we can add nothing. Even the Christian life, Christ says, without me, you can do nothing. That’s pretty humbling. I think in John 15 verse 5, without me Christ says you can do nothing. And really that is so true spiritually to live a fruitful Christian life. You can’t succeed without Christ. How did the priest deal with all these verses? I’ve written some of these. The Catholic ever deal with this in a Bible study.
If someone ever will have the nerve actually raise their hand and disagree, how do they deal with this? They symbol the fern to the Catholic Church. I say… They say that it doesn’t matter what the Bible says. Bottom line is they believe the church over the Bible and they’re just not going to get into a good Bible discussion with you. going to say this is what the church teaches and the church is infallible. The Pope is infallible and they just buy into whatever the church teaches is being correct.
Yeah, that’s one of the… I think it’s the current one if I’m not mistaken, but there are a lot of crazy things that happen. I mean, I’d be correct on that, but definitely they want to be all inclusive of every religion in the world coming under their umbrella and I think that’s what’s going to happen after the Rapture during the Tribulation period is you’ll see this one world church that the Bible certainly predicts that we see the churches now seeming to be coming one and that’s what the Bible predicts and that’s not a good thing.
That’s a bad thing because it’s not coming together for the right reasons because they believe the same thing. They come together for power and for other reasons and we see that happening every day. You know another thing is a lot of people have all these conspiracies about youth in the 20th century about they do this. They do this, they don’t have any proof, but they’ll deliberately go out and support an abortion or baby murder candidate. They say, they know what’s going on there, what he’s supporting that kind of evil for.
And he’s just speculating all the conspiracies of the youth do this and the youth do that. I mean, they’re not. I don’t know who they support a lot of them a little, but I’m not really support, but we didn’t know what you’re doing is wrong. deliberate that’s so conspiracy. I agree. David, thank you so much. I was David in St. Petersburg. Thank you so much for calling in here. The number if you want to dial is 1-800-576-3771, 1-800-577-5767, 3, 7, 7, 1, 1, 800, 5, 7, 6, 3, 7, 7, 1.
We have here, Wayne in Stoney Creek, Virginia, leaves this all-fare question. He says, can you explain your response to Ann in Richmond, Virginia, that whosoever are anyone that believes, how can anyone that is spiritually dead do do anything spiritual. Well the question there and the answer is that you can as a person of spiritually dead believe on Christ. And Jesus says that. So Wayne if you’re listening today, I’m sure you left this question a couple of days ago, but in John chapter 5 Jesus talks about those that are spiritually dead can hear the word of God.
The Lord of Christ has been saved. I’m going to quote now from John’s Gospel. Jesus says in verse 25, barely, I say unto you, the hour is coming and now is when the dead, the speaking about the spiritually dead, those that are living here on the earth, but are spiritually dead, unsaved shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and they that hear shall live. Well, that’s the way every one of us gets saved. And we are spiritually dead until we trust Christ.
But then the verse just prior to this in John 524 says that to you when you believe are passed from death in the life, you were spiritually dead, but now you become spiritually alive. We had a call just a minute ago, Harold from Campa Forta calls in and asked about suicide. You decide certainly is not something that we are to do, but it will not affect your salvation. It is not the impartable sin. Let me remind our listeners of John 637 where Jesus said, Him that cometh the Me, I will in no wise cast out.
And that means there is no exception. There is nothing that could cause you to be cast out from Christ. to come with me I will then know why it’s cast out and it doesn’t say except for suicide. So a person who commits suicide would still go to heaven but I believe of course they would probably suffer also reward for having taken their life but certainly they would not be lost. Once you trust Christ you have eternal life and nothing can ever undo that eternal life that you receive at the moment you trust Christ.
We just read it a moment ago in John 1028. He says, I give them eternal life. And they shall never go to hell. They’ll never perish. Neither shall any, pluck them out of my hand. So once you become saved, I tell people you’re stuck. You have to go to heaven. Whether you like it or not. We’re going to Tim now. And Tim is in High Point, North Carolina. And Tim, welcome to Bibleline your On The Air. Yes, I wanted to ask the question.
And then I’ll hang up. I want to know what do you think of the complete Jewish Bible? The complete Jewish Bible is the 39 books of the Old Testament. Is that what you’re talking about? Yes. Now, the Jewish Bible is wonderful. I mean, that’s what we have in our Old Testament as well. They number or I tell the number of their books differently than we do and they arrange them a little bit differently than we do. The Jewish count is 22, but it’s really the same 39 books that you and I have.
And they arrange them a little bit differently if you have a Jewish Bible and begin with Genesis and in with second chronicles. When I was a brand new believer and got myself a copy of the Old Testament Hebrew, the Jewish Bible, I thought, oh my goodness, they left a lot of books out. But they’re all there, but they just rearrange them. It’s just fine. The problem is that people don’t read their Bible. It’s not a matter of whether you have the Jewish Old Testament or not, and I have several copies here which have the Hebrew on one side and the English on the other that are the Hebrew, and I have them that I bought in Israel and they begin with Genesis and then with Second Chronicles.
But the content is there and they’re the same and there’s not a problem. Thank you, Tim, and High Point, North Carolina. We have Ken in St. Petersburg. Ken, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Can I get there? I’m on the air. Okay, good. Dr. Hank? Yeah, we’re here. Okay, I want to say one thing about the school field Bible, it really is very helpful. There’s a lot of good study things in the back. I found very helpful. And to my question, what’s the responsibility of a pastor knowing what their Sunday school are teaching.
It seems like when I go to church after church, nobody really can, you know, when they’re talking about works or righteousness or something to children, they really can’t define. They’re leaving up in the air. They’re not sure themselves. From my list and to list, the difference between some kind of work for salvation. They’re doing good things and I sort of shoulders of the afternoon on what people are teaching. Well, I think it does definitely the the leadership of the church the elders are to guard the spiritual purity of the church and They’re responsible for the doctrines that are taught underneath them.
So definitely they should be Listening in and supervising and making sure the literature is correct. We find that From time to time literature will come along and we find that just very very wrong and very offensive and and we have to remove it or not use it. But it’s a constant battle. And the Bible says, if you read Titus, chapter one, when it talks about spiritual leaders, it talks that they are definitely responsible for what is being caught within the church.
Situation last night, where they were talking to the children. And I know the pastor somewhat, and he’s very school. He’s from Dallas. But the do-good parents, they don’t mean anything wrong by it. They don’t really understand themselves. I wanted to say, well, the works that you’re talking about, the righteous, the kids, because they were talking to the kids about wanting to be how they could be righteous. I couldn’t follow it. She didn’t mean anything by it. They’re just trying to do a little Bible study.
I think that causes a lot of confusion in all these little home Bible studies that Nobody really knows your text as long as they just don’t disagree and have an argument. It must have been okay Well, I agree with it. I think that’s what we call teacher training to where the teachers are trained and then they can teach those that are under them and and Sometimes today when there’s a shortage of volunteers the person that says yes all do, all help is recruited and they really don’t have any training and they sometimes fail.
It’s a leadership responsibility to train them and make sure that they understand what they’re teaching and sometimes they might have a class that teaches the lesson to the teachers before the teachers teach to the children. What about the, are they held the county tree? You’ll be judged more harshly. I think so. Sure. Anybody that teaches this, and James that tells us that the teacher is much more accountable than the one who is not a teacher because of what they say and they might influence somebody wrongly.
So that’s definitely the case. You might just point that out. Maybe the church is not aware of the need to teach or train the teachers. Well, I find it’s even no matter how polite you try to get around it, you’ve probably been there to feel any kind of people just don’t take proper criticism. They take it personal. So even if you go to leadership, they just can’t believe anybody, you know, so you have to almost record it and say, do you agree with this?
Yes, sir. It’s the health. It can’t explain this, buddy. The Satan is so clever. He sure knows how to ease the author of confusion and definitely knows how to get his agenda across. Well, I’ll let you go. I wasn’t sure if I was on the air earlier, but that’s both the Bible. I looked in the back. I got one of the soft copies. I was surprised how well it was laid out the difference in works and salvation or your stand with God through Christ.
standing standing you know anybody listening out there that definitely very simple and clear and very well laid out i’ll let you go with that and that you have a blessed day thank you can tenon st pittsburgh the struggles that go on and uh… making sure that uh… uh… the teachings are are correct and uh… we’re going to go to the enrichment virginia tony welcome to bible and or you’re in a good mood today i have uh… i just want to occur to the listeners to uh…
at the website man of a lot of the nourishment on their up and uh… taking a look at that article of the i was looking for a criminal at night the victory and there’s real future and before you actually get it to that teaching or talking about the sanctification and then dot word let my word be true let it remain below dot word from what i read from it and got out of that message was one who sanctified us and that we are sanctified and he’s the one who sanctified us and that’s right that is headed you don’t understand what a eye-opening revelation that was to me and that it’s right there in god’s word and the reason why i’m calling it the question i have i guess i just answered my own question He’s a teacher who works, thinks of fires by God forever.
Then the think of fires from glory to glory is God thinks of fires by God forever. Then the think of fires from glory to glory is God thinks of fires. Is that correct? Absolutely. And you know that’s why he can’t ever be lost because he does it all. You know. Well I was talking to an older lady who was a member of a full gospel church and we were talking about finding churches because we’re looking for a church up here.
And she was a little unhappy with her church. She said because they don’t preach on sanctification anymore because you get a sanctified. You got to thank the fire still. So I just want to hang up and let you roll with that. And just if you could in a little bit more detail, explain the actual sanctified from glory to glory. What that means. Thank you, Dr. Hank. All right. Thank you, Tony. I didn’t think people were rich and got that excited, but I’m glad to hear that.
I’m teasing. Anyway, there is positional sanctification, which occurs by God at the moment you get saved and you’re sanctified forever. Hebrews 10, 14. But then there’s practical sanctification where you bring your life in line and closer to closer to your position in Christ. We should ever be striving to become more Christ like every day, but we are positionally as righteous as Christ at the moment of belief. 2 Corinthians 5, 21 says that God made Christ to be sin for us, Christ who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
So we’re made Christ’s righteousness at the moment of belief because of the substitution of payment that was made at the cross. But then in our practical Christian life, we ought to be constantly striving to make our lives more Christ-like. And that’s practical sanctification. Tony, glad you’re excited in Richmond, Virginia. Keep listening to Bible and thanks for the plug for our website because we do have We have our sermons, we do have our radio programs, we have a TV programs, we have the online bookstore, we have articles that I’ve written, we have questions that I’ve answered and tons and tons of stuff that will keep you busy forever right on the Bibleline website.
Thank you for calling in. Wayne again in Stoney Creek, Virginia writes in with the offer a question. He says, if in predestination God responds to man’s choice, does this mean that God ratifies man’s choice and the man becomes responsible for his salvation and his work? Well, yes, man is responsible for his salvation, absolutely, but salvation is not a work on man’s part. It says in Romans 4, 16, and this is something you ought to write down. It says it is a faith that it might be by grace.
Romans 4, 16, it is a faith that it might be by grace. Then I recommend you tie that with Romans 11, 6, where it says that if by grace, then it’s no more of works. Otherwise, grace is no more grace. So basically, it’s saying it’s a faith that it might be by grace, and it’s because it’s by grace that it’s not a work, because grace is the absence of work. So there you clearly have the Bible telling us that faith is not a work.
Our receiving of Christ is not a work. It’s a trust in the finished work that Christ did for us at the cross. Wayne, I hope that helps. Thank you for calling. We have Joe in Pembroke, Pines, Florida. It’s not Florida calling any says on offer your question. My church holds the our millennial view and covenant theology. They say the early church fathers held this view and that they started the pre-millennial view. Well, Joe, the early church fathers are talking about, probably about the 5th century and they had it all wrong.
They rejected the fact that Israel had a future part in God’s program and they denied the millennium because they never thought that Christ would ever reestablished the Jews back in the land and ever have a thousand-year kingdom where they would be the head nation on the earth. Definitely that is going to happen and there will be a literal thousand-year reign of Christ. But that is all bad theology. It’s just bad bad bad bad theology and it started and was held to this present day in the Roman Catholic Church and is carried over.
This same theology is what you see in many of the Protestant denominations that believe in replacement theology. Wow, the program goes by so quickly and we are going to have to close it down if you’ve never trusted Christ. Would you just whisper prayer right now? Just tell the Lord Lord I’m a sinner. I don’t understand a whole lot about the Bible, but I do believe I’m a sinner and that Christ died and paid for those sins by His death and shed blood.
I trust right now that He died for me was buried and rose again from the dead. I trust Christ to be my Savior to forgive my sins to give me the gift to be turned on the moment you do. God saves you. I want you to know that we appreciate all of you listeners and thank you the ones of you. you that pray and give the Bible and you’re the heroes, you’re the ones who keep this program on the air.
