If you click on the spinning globe for the radio, the page that comes up will have a place already for you to type in your question, your first name and your city, hit submit, and we’ll get that and we’ll answer your Bible question.
The whole world is divided into just two groups. Two groups. That’s right. Two groups. John 3 18, Jesus outlines who they are. He says he the believer. That means to trust on Christ. He the believer on Christ is not condemned. Group number one. So if you believe on Christ, you are not condemned at the moment you believe, nor will you ever be forever in the future ever condemned. second group but he’s a believer that’s not he’s a believer that’s not on the son uh…
is condemned already that’s the second group if you do not believe on christ you’re leaving a living in a condemned state right now you’re condemned And should you die, you’ll wind up experiencing eternal condemnation. But again, you have opportunities, long as you’re breathing, to change your mind and trust Jesus Christ as your only hope of heaven before you die. And I hope that you wouldn’t put it off because you don’t know when you’re going to die. You could die suddenly, you could die unexpectedly, and it would be a terrible gamble to say that I’m going to wait till the last moment.
and then choose to trust Christ as Savior. The reason why the unbeliever is condemned, it says in verse John 3, 18, Christ own words, is because because because it says the word because in that verse because he hath not believed on the name of the only God and Son of God. There is only one way to heaven. If you accept Christ as Savior, you become saved eternally at the moment you believe. If you reject Christ, then there is no forgiveness and you’re condemned because you have rejected the only provision that God has made for your sin.
When you go through the Gospel of John, it’s quite striking. You’ll find the believers’ time-class with unbelievers throughout the book. Those who believed, those who believed not, those who believed, those who believed not, those who believed, those who believed not. Of course, the Greek word means more than mental assent. It means to trust. T-R-U-S-T. The Greek word is pestuo. P-I-S-T-E-U-O. Pestuo means to trust, to rely upon, to put your confidence in, to rest your weight upon. And so when you trust Jesus Christ as your Savior, as your only hope of heaven, that His death and shed blood purchase your salvation God saves you.
Let’s say that you’re on a dock and there’s a small boat tied to the dock and you step off with one foot and put one foot on the boat. Are you trusting the boat? And the answer is no. You still have one foot on the dock. Let’s say that you put both feet on the dock but with both hands you’re still holding on to the dock. Are you trusting the boat? The answer is no. You know, a lot of people put one foot on Christ and they still have one foot on the dock.
Or they put two feet on Christ, but they’re still holding on to the dock. They’re trusting in some work, some human effort to get them to heaven. You really, my friend, think about this, have never trusted Christ until you cut all ties to the dock. What if you have two feet on the boat and just one hand on the dock? You’re still not trusting the boat because you still have a hand on the dock. What if you have two feet on the boat and both hands are free from the dock but you’re holding tightly to a rope tied to the dock?
You still haven’t trusted the boat. You’re still trusting the rope tied to the dock to be able to be your salvation. Until you’ve kept the rope and cut all ties to the dock and totally rest your way upon the boat, you’ve never trusted the boat. In the same way until you cut all ties to all other things you might be trusting in. And simply trust in Christ. You are not saved. You’ve never trusted Him as your Savior. To trust Christ means you trust Christ alone and you cut all ties to other things you might be trusting in.
A lot of people don’t see this and they don’t realize it’s a subtle thing. That they’ve never really trusted Christ. They’re still holding on. still trying to trust in other things, maybe living the Christian life, maybe baptism, maybe church membership, maybe some other thing. By the way, we mentioned it yesterday as somebody brought the question to the table about what happened to Christ when he died. He went into the heart of the earth into paradise. The apostles created wrong.
It says he descended into hell. Christ never went to hell. Christ did not descend into hell. So I don’t prefer to recite the little Apostles’ Creed because it’s wrong. And because of that, there are numerous preachers who teach he went to hell, and there he struggled and fought with a devil and with his demons. And finally, at the end of three days and three nights, he defeated the devil and purchased our salvation. That is certainly not true. Jesus Christ paid for every sin that you would ever commit, past, present, and future when he died on the cross.
His final words were, it is finished, and that means paid in full from the Greek language. It’s interesting that that Greek word is one word, and yet it takes three English words to say the same thing. When you read, it is finished. It’s really from that one Greek word that means paid in full, full satisfaction received for the debt that everything that you would ever do wrong past present future was taken care of by Christ. He is the first to receive that by faith.
When we trust Christ by faith, trusting that He died and paid our sin, that and for He saves us. And then God gives us a written guarantee. First John 5, 13 says these things have I written unto you, that believe on the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life. I’m Dr. Ang Vinstroom. This is ByBlind. We’re going to go ahead and go to the phone lines. If you have a question or comment, you’re welcome to call in on our number 800-576-3771.
All right. We have a number of all fears. We’ll try to get to those as well as try to get to the on-air questions. If you want to get up on the air with us, call 1-800-5-763771. And we are excited about being with you today. We’re going to go to Joan in Venice, Florida. And Joan, welcome to Bibleline You’re On The Earth. Praise Abba Father for your holy gift and you share it with all of us. I’m so thankful to speak with you, Dr.
Len Jones. Thank you. I’ve heard preachers preach two different things, so I am putting my question into your capable hands. Who is the bright morning star? Well, Jesus is the bright morning star, but also the counterfeit of that is the Satan or Lucifer who imitates Christ. He does a lot of things that Christ does, but he’s the false Christ. But Jesus is the bride and morning star, and when he comes, he will come and light up this world. The thousand year reign of Christ is called the D.A.Y.
Day of the Lord. Right now the Bible describes us as living in darkness, and that we as Christians are lights in this world. we are the whole fourth light of the gospel to the lost and bring them to Christ. But when Jesus returns, then He as He was when He was here the first time in flesh was the light of the world and will be again and the earth will be lighted and it will be the day of the Lord.
And of course we’re now talking about spiritual light. That the earth is pretty much in darkness. It says, spiritually, and most people don’t know more of the Lord as their Savior and need to have the gospel brought to them by us, but it’s primarily referring to Christ. Perfect. I’m glad to hear you say so. Thank you so much. All right. Thank you, Joan. Joan down in Venice, Florida, and we appreciate all of our listeners, and we’re excited about those listings south of us here in Florida, from Tampa, Florida.
We now have Adam out in Denver, Colorado. Adam, welcome to Bibleline you are on the air. Hi, Dr. Liss. I have a couple of questions. I have a few family members that are Jehovah’s Witnesses. I feel God’s calling me to kind of witness to them about the belief and the looking through their Bible. It does say that they believe that it takes works to get the Heaven. And one of the verses that they use is James 2 17 through 26.
I know you went over before with me. I was wondering if you could refresh my name. Sure. Well, what James is talking in James 2 about rewards. and he’s talking about salvation but not salvation from hell. He’s talking to people who are already saved. Notice verse 14, he says, what does it profit my brethren? Throughout the book he uses the phrase, my brethren, my brethren, my brethren, my brethren, my brethren, it’s talking to believers. Those that have been born again and are brothers and sisters in the family of God.
Secondly, he talks about a verse 14 profit. Salvation is never spoken of as profit. It’s always spoken of as a gift. A gift purchased by someone else at great expense and offered to you free because they love you. Of course, that’s the Lord who gave his life to purchase this salvation and it’s offered free to any that would receive him. And so it’s not talking about salvation, but it’s talking about rewards. Also it’s talking about the judgment seat of Christ.
And it says in verse 12, so speaky and so do ye as they that will be judged by the perfect law of liberty. is the Judgement of the Seed of Christ when you and I who have been set free from the law and from the penalty of sin and death by trusting Christ as Savior will be judged by the law of liberty at the judgment of the seed of Christ and their rewards will be handed out. And so when it says in James 2.14, what does it profit?
My brethren, if a man say he hath faith and have no works, can faith save him? And the question is, can faith save him from the consequences of the judgment of Christ, which will be what? Loss of reward, sorrow, regret, ashamedness, embarrassment, and tears, obviously. And so, no, it will not. If you don’t have any works, faith will not save him. you from the consequences of the believer’s judgment called the judgment seat of Christ where our works will be examined to discover the degree of reward that you will receive.
So it’s not talking about salvation from hell, talking about salvation from the consequences of the judgment seat of Christ. You’ll want to have God say, well done, not good and faithful servant. want to have Christ say, here are rewards for you for your faithful service and that’s what it’s talking about. So once you see that it all seems to come out clear. Thank you Dr. I have one more question I’m going to hang up and listen to you and can you please explain to me what do the Jehovah Witnesses believe?
Who is Jesus to them and what do they believe? Who is he and what do you mean to them and I’ll hang up and listen. Thank you. Okay. the Job’s Witnesses is Michael the Archangel. And obviously they don’t know their Bible very well. The Bible says that in Hebrews 1-5 that God never called an angel his son. So he can’t be the son of God and he can’t be Michael the Archangel at the same time. If he’s Michael the Archangel he’s a created being which is what they teach.
But the Bible teaches that he always was and always will be that he’s the Alpha and in the Omega in the book of Revelation, the beginning and the end, the one who has always existed in John 1. He was in the beginning with God and was God and co-existed with God. And we find that he was made flesh John 1, 14, and came and dwelt among us at his first coming. So they rejected the deed of Christ as a result.
They’re not saved. ivic 1 John 2 23 says, Who’s Whoever Denies The Son? The same hath not the Father. So guess what? Joel’s Witnesses don’t have the Father. Joel’s Witnesses do not have Jehovah. Can you imagine Joel’s Witnesses being Jehovahless? I love to tell them that. You are Jehovahless. Why? Because you deny the Son. Who’s Whoever Denies The Son? The same hath not the Father. 1 John 2 23. Let them have it. need to be awakened to the truth if you want to lead them to Christ and make sure they go to heaven.
They will not go to heaven with what they believe now. They deny the need of Christ, therefore they do not have the Father and their lost. 1 John 2 23. We now have Gus in Hollywood Florida and Gus, welcome to Bibleline Greeta. Great to talk Hello Gus. Yes. You’re on the air. I’m on the air. You’re on the air live in Tampa, Florida and across America. Okay. Do you have a question? Yes. Yes. I’d like to know I heard that I said that Jesus died and descended to hell or did not descend to hell.
Why did he descend to those three days? Okay. Matthew 1240 said he would be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Now, if you remember Luke 23, 43, Jesus told the dying thief that today thou shalt be with the imparities. So we know paralyzed used to be in the heart of the earth. That’s where the believers went and waited until their sin was paid for. Jesus went down where the believers were in paralyzed in the heart of the earth.
If you read Ephesians 4, 8 through 10, he opened up Paradise and removed it and took all those saints up to heaven. So no longer does anybody go to the heart of the earth, it’s a believer. We’re absent from the body, present with the Lord, and Paradise, now according to 2nd Corinthians 12, 3, is in heaven itself. You get you there? Are you still listening to us? I think he’s listening to his radio and not on the phone and that makes it very difficult.
We now have Gino and Gino is in Tampa for us. Gino, welcome to Vibon. You’re on there. Yes. I have a question almost like similar. I’ve always heard that. I’m going to go down. I think you said that that came to the creed. What is the process of creed and what will pass and get that from the process of creed and what makes it wrong if they got it from somewhere. I’m going to have to listen. Thank you. Obviously, the creed is man-made and was made several centuries after Christ had been here and usually man-made things are flawed.
hymns or creeds or flawed. I did a lot of research on creeds and I couldn’t find one that I felt was absolutely accurate. And so in the Calvary Community Church where I passed her, I selected 11 wonderful verses that cover a broad spectrum of truth and we stand and recite, we believe and we recite these 11 verses together. It’s wonderful because we know that we’re not straying at all because we’re simply quoting the Bible. And that’s exciting. But the creeds are wrong.
And one of the problems is that hell is sometimes how they translate the Greek word Hades. Now, Christ did descend into Hades, not the same thing as hell. There is no one in hell as yet. It was created for the Devil and his Angels, Matthew 2541. Hades is the hollow place in the heart of the earth. The Hebrew word is CO, S-H-E-O-L. The Greek word is Hades. Sometimes translated as hell, and that’s what caused the confusion. So it shouldn’t be translated hell.
If you have a Scofield Bible, which is what I recommend, it points out every time which word is being used from the Greek or Hebrew so you don’t get mixed up. But Christ went there and if you read Luke 16 you’ll find that Luke 16 tells us about two men who died. One was a believer, one was an unbeliever, a rich man and a beggar named Lazarus and they both went to the heart of the earth but there was an impassable gulf separating where the unbelievers went and they were in torment and by the way they’re still there from this This impasse will go separate of them from the believers that were in paradise and they could see across to each other but they couldn’t pass to each other.
And of course those that were believers were taken out of there upon the resurrection of Christ and He took them up to heaven. Hope that helps and thank you for that call. We now have Edmund in St. Petersburg. Edmund, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. You have a question? Go ahead. There there. My question is this, in the Bible, where is the reference point concerning that angels do not have wings? I’ve heard you say that they don’t have wings.
Well, wherever you see angels appear, they don’t have wings. Read the story in Genesis chapter 19 about Sodom. Two angels came to the city. The people of Sodom saw them and mistook them for men. The whole city turned out all the men, and they wanted to take these men by force and rape them. They even tried to break down the door of Lot’s house to get them out. When the angels smote the men of the city of Sodom with blindness, they still groped all night for the door.
They wanted to apparently wear handsome men, attractive to the men of Sodom, and the Sodomites wanted to rape them. They didn’t realize that these were angels that the next morning would kill them all and destroy the whole Sodom Valley. Throughout the Bible, angels are mistaken for men. Abraham saw three men, Genesis 18. One was Jesus and the other two were angels. They didn’t have wings. They didn’t have halos and they were mistaken for men. So wherever you look in the Bible, you’ll never find them.
Now, cherub have wings and cherub have wings, but angels do not. Now what was your first rep? Genesis 19. Read the story of Sodom and Gomorrah. In Genesis 18, chapter 19 for Sodom, chapter 18, Adam, it attained two angels and he prepared a meal and everything thought they were two men that were traveling and were weary and he gave them hospitality. Thank you very much. All right. But no angels having wings in the Bible, that came from artists wanting to separate men from angels and put wings on them so that you would know they were angelic or from heaven or something.
but nothing in the Bible that tells us that. We have a ton of callers here, and we’re trying to get to you as quickly as we can, and we have Mark in Tampa, Florida. Mark, welcome to Bibleline. You’re on the air. Yes, I have a question and I want to script you here, sir. Go ahead. Go ahead. Go ahead. Yeah, it’s in Matthew. Matthew 13 verse 52. I just can’t figure this one out. All right. Let me see if we can get to it real quickly because we’re coming up on the break really fast and we may not be able to get to it.

If you go there during the week, you’ll be able to catch our archives and there’s a year’s where the program’s sitting there where you can watch and listen to the Bible and programs. Our radio programs are there if you want to click on the spinning globe and we have so much there available to you.
We are going to take your call if you call us at 1-800-576-3771 and we had marked it just called in and he left his question off here and we’ll go ahead and take a look at that now. Then said he unto them, therefore every scribe which is instructed, under the kingdom of heaven, is like into a man that is in the householder which brings forth out of his treasure things new and old. While we find that this is, I think, talking about the Old and New Testaments, that there are things that are old and there are things that are new.
And obviously, the Old Testament and New Testament are intertwined. Somebody once said, the Old Testament in the New Testament is revealed and the Old Testament is concealed. So a lot of the truths were there in the Old Testament, but concealed and not really revealed until you read the New Testament. So the Old Testament in the New Testament is revealed, but the New Testament in the Old Testament is concealed. So many of the truths are there and typed and pictured, but they really become new and alive when you read the New Testament.
But unfold these old truths and make them new. Mark, I hope that helps a little bit. But definitely, I was so surprised to find so many things in the Old Testament that really are explained well in the New Testament. The whole life of Christ, 330-something prophecies that are fulfilled when Christ came, that we’re all in the Old Testament. About the birth of Christ, the Bethlehem, the place where Christ should be born, how Christ would die by crucifixion, all of that in the Old Testament.
We now have Lou in Tampa, Florida. Lou has been faithfully holding on through the break, and Lou, welcome to Bibleline, and you are on there. Good morning Dr. Hank, how are you? At the time I haven’t talked to you. Yeah, it’s been last year. Yes, it’s been a while. Dr. Hank, it’s kind of a two-part question. A practicing Mormon, can they be saved? Well, anybody can be saved. There’s only just still breathing. You can trust Christ as your Savior and receive the gift of eternal life.
But Mormons, if they believe what they’re taught in Mormonism, they’re not saved at all. OK, that leads to my second question. We have a candidate and he’s a practicing Mormon, but prior to that he was an ordained Baptist minister. Now my question is if he was saved as a Baptist, that he believed that Jesus Christ was the Son of God, died buried in your saved by the blood. And he switches camps. Is this where you use the verse in John where he says, some of us were with us, but then when they left us they weren’t really of us.
or is it he still is saved? He just doesn’t know it or what do you think? Well, I don’t think he saved. If he’s a Mormon, he’s a Mormon. And obviously, that’s the way he went because that’s apparently what really attracted him. But Mormons are not saved. Mormons aren’t even Christian. They’re not even close to Christian. If you read Mormon Theology, they claim that they came from the planet Colob, K-O-L-A-B, a B, seal on the internet, and they migrated here from outer space and they’ve taken on bodies here.
So it’s really a strange religious belief and they have a lot of crazy, strange ideas and they’re not even close to Christian. in their belief system Satan and Jesus our brothers. The Black race came forth from Satan and the White race came forth from Jesus. They have lots of craziness in their teachings and they don’t believe in hell. They believe everybody will be in one of the seven levels of heaven. It’s craziness. It’s not biblical at all. Totally unscriptural.
The Book of Mormon is a religious novel pure fantasy. There is nothing too Mormon is worth looking at. So obviously if at one time he was a proclaimed Baptist or Baptist minister, chances are he wasn’t saved then if he’s gone to this. Is that correct? Wouldn’t he think? I don’t know what he was in the past. I hadn’t followed that at all. But it doesn’t matter. His belief system now is totally what we would call a cult. Mormonism is not Christian and is a cult.
So he’s a cult member, not a Christian. All right, last question, Dr. Hank Saul. They said that the spirit of the Lord left Saul departed from him, the spirit of God. I’m assuming Saul was a believer. Can a believer lose also in this day and age, when they say that the spirit of God has departed? Is that a lack of loss of fellowship in communion, or is it something more than that? in the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit could come and go.
In this age, it cannot. So once you have the Holy Spirit from Pentecost to La Rapture, the Holy Spirit will be with you forever. David, when he sinned, asked in Psalm 51, Lord, take not thy Holy Spirit from me. That was a possibility. And God didn’t, but he could have. But Saul, because of his sin in his life, had the Holy Spirit depart from him. But it did not mean he was not saved. all was saved and we learned that from Samuel when he appeared at the Witch of Indoor he told Saul that he would die in battle and would join him and certainly Samuel was saved and so Saul went to be with Samuel and the other Old Testament saints that had died and Saul was saved.
So New Testament but we can’t depart from them. No. But no. The Holy Spirit cannot leave a New Testament believer. In the Old Testament it was possible and it did leave salt. Right. The New Testament is just, is that correct? That’s correct. Okay. Alright Dr. Hank, it’s good to talk to you. Thank you. Okay, bye bye. Alright, that was Lou in Tampa and we have Pam in Brandon, Florida. Pam, welcome to Bibleline you are on there. Sit. And Pam, can you read your down?
I have actually a couple of questions. I can’t remember his second one. I’m going to ask you the first one. You were just talking about angels. Did they know that they’re angels? Of course. Okay, so if a person is an angel, they know they are, but we don’t know because I know there’s a verse that says something about entertaining strangers because it could be entertaining an angel. And that’s what happened with Abraham. He did entertain these two angels and the third one who appeared as a man was Jesus, a pre-incarnate of Prince of Christ.
He prepared a meal, excuse me, and they ate together and he didn’t realize till the end of the meal that one of them was the Lord himself and that was Jesus. And then the two were angels that went on from Abraham to Lot and the story started. Okay, I did have the other question really quick. I had an experience last year myself. I wasn’t really a Christian on my life, but I am now, because of the experience I had.
Something I got out of reading the book of Revelation. I read the entire book and I felt led to read it all day long. I kept hearing in my head read it, read it. So I go home and I read it that night. And of course I’d been praying and came to the Lord through some really bad situations. I’d family members died divorced, much as I’ve happened all at once. But I’m thinking for that now because that’s really what I have now.
I couldn’t replace. What I got to read the book of Revelation is that Christ is alive. That was the thing that hit me really hard. And it was so real to me that I don’t think anyone can convince me otherwise. and it wasn’t something I learned at church or anything. I was at home by myself. And the thing I wanted to ask was, shortly after that, I started getting bombarded with different religions. People were just coming out of the woodwork, and everyone was trying to convince me that the experience I had was something evil, and the devil will deceive you at all these other things.
And one of the people that tried desperately to convince me was a church right down the street for me that will come. The LDS Church. Whether they say it’s with the Lawrence. Right. And they kept, they knocked on my door almost every day and I told them my story and they kept telling me that I was wrong and that because I didn’t have enough. And I said, I’m somewhere in the book of Timothy I think Paul warned him that people will say you don’t have experience so you don’t have the knowledge that if God chooses to give you this knowledge, then you have it.
So it’s nothing to do with your agency. Well, that’s exactly right. And obviously Satan wants to come along when you’re weak or when you’re young as a believer and you don’t have much experience or you don’t know a whole lot of the word to try to rob from you what you have taken in from God’s word. So that’s normal and I find that happens a lot with brand new believers. They immediately, they seem to be assaulted by the cults and by others and that’s Satan’s way of trying to rob you of the truth that you have.
So you stick with the Bible and you’re going to be fine. Okay, just one more quick comment. I just wanted to say this because it was true the thing that ever happened. After that whole experience I had and it was like a thing that went on for a couple of weeks and it was like God was from Furman things to me every day. And it was true about him not saying in my life, not material things. But within that two-week period, I met five Mormons.
I met two or three different people from the LDS Church. I guess I don’t know if they’re the same thing or not. And then I met someone from the unified church which was Reverend Moon’s Moonings I guess. And it was unbelievable, I couldn’t believe it, that all these people I was meeting have had never ever met or been around any kind of religious people. at all of a sudden from so many different religions and the people I was meeting, they weren’t just followers of research, they were leaders in the churches.
That’s amazing. The devil, it seems like, was after you. You just stay tight with the Bible and you’ll be just fine. Okay, thank you. Right. Thank you, Pam, in Brandon, Florida. And that’s often true. As a brand new believer, you’re vulnerable to bad teaching and you have to be very, very careful that you stay very close to the Bible and make sure that what you believe and what you’re hearing is in line with the scriptures. We have Howard in Brandon, Florida, who leaves an offer a question.
He says, please explain the doctrine of first fruits. Well, the first fruits are really, it’s used in a lot of different ways, but whenever you, For example, talk about timing or giving. The first fruits are the first of the off the top of what you earn. The Bible says you’re to give the first fruits of what you take in. And so first before you pay your rent a bill, the first before you give anything else to any other creditor, you’re to give to the Lord first.
So that’s the doctrine of the first fruits. The first born in a family was the first fruit and was to be special, presented to the Lord as a male, to be the spiritual leader that would come up in the family and so on. It’s also talking about the resurrection. When Christ came back from the dead, he was the first of his own power to ever come back from the dead, and he’s the first fruit of the resurrection. So there’s quite a study in that word first fruit.
There’s also a feast called the Feast of First Fruits, which is the poke of the resurrection and Christ rose from the dead exactly on that feast day, the Feast of First Fruits. So how would that just a little bit, but only the tip of the iceberg? We’d have to do a whole hour show on the first fruits to literally cover that. We now have Benjamin in Clearwater and Benjamin, welcome to Bibleline Your Honor. Good morning. I would like to know if the Prodigal Son, that we learned to, I mean, that Jesus talked to the Church or Jesus talked to the Jewish people.
Can you explain to me the Prodigal Son, please? Well, he’s talking, you know, this is prior to Pentecost. He’s talking to the Jewish people. But again, the truth is the same. Here was a son who had departed but was welcomed back by the Father. And the same thing is true of us. If you get away from the Lord, you’re You’re still saved. You’re still God’s son. You’ll never lose your son’s ship, but you can lose your fellowship. And obviously when you left the presence of the father and went into a different land, And squandered his inheritance.
He missed the fellowship of his home and his father, and he decided to go back and the father welcomed him. So every believer is always welcome back. You’re a child and God’s family. But obviously he suffered the loss of many things when he was out there in the world running away from his father. So the same as a picture today for us in the church as well. But that was for a junior year. audience. Thank you Benjamin. We now have Carl in Tampa, Florida.
Carl, welcome to Bible and you’re on the air. Yes sir. I just wanted to ask you a question. The book that wrote Rick Warren purpose driven life. Yeah, I thought it was like have you read it? Yes. Yes. And what did you do? What do you think of it? Well I thought it taught salvation by works, which is what I think he believes. If you, I have his video as well on the third video presentation of the purpose driven life, he says what you do on earth determines where you’ll spend eternity.
And that’s not true. That’s false. And I think it’s not until you get about, I forget, I had the page number memorized, but it’s about eight chapters in before he even talks about salvation and he talks about it kind of like jumping on a train and then staying on the train to the end of the destination. If you get off the train you can lose your salvation. If you stay on the train you get to make it to the end destination and that’s certainly not a true representation of Christianity or the Bible.
Once you trust Christ you can’t get off the train. You’re stuck and you can’t lose it. So Rick Warren’s salvation I think is terribly flawed. Okay I noticed that recently he was he had I think I think he’ll be Clinton in his church and also Barack Obama and in the position that they take on the social issues. I think that it’s so contrary to our Christian belief. And I just wondered, you know, was he coming from us? He was trying to make funds to the media.
You know, as you begin to. Well, please. well he’s a bit well i think his position is right there that’s that’s where he’s always to it i i really think if obviously that is the theology that his book teaches he’s probably not safe and a lot of people get a whoa whoa whoa i’m not i don’t have the book of life i don’t know but his salvation message is not clear at all and i’ve read the book and i’ve got his video presentation on it and and it seems like just terrible theology and uh…
uh… he is a political theology is probably but you know what his uh… theological uh… theology thank you so much called and uh… welcome uh… adam in the denver colorado again he’s back uh… adam you know oh okay i’ll thank you doctor up i want to make quick comment first uh… about the believer I used to pray and ask God if I don’t understand your word or anything, but I’m reading it. Please show me what it means and understands.
And about two days later I caught Bibleline on TV and you were doing a teaching on Proverbs and how you were saying that. How it says if you search his word, he’ll reveal it. Just thank you for that. My question is the King James Version Bible. The name King James, who is King James and why is it called the King James Version? And I’ll hang up. and listen. Thank you. well king james really was simply ruling at the time translates was made he had nothing to do with it any never authorized it so it’s called the king james authorized version but the king james never had a chance to authorize or anything else he just happened to be king at that time so he got a lot of free publicity as a result of that bible over the past several centuries But King James probably wasn’t saved and had nothing to do with the
King James Bible. That was probably a good thing too. So Adam, I hope that helps and thank you for that nice compliment and we’re glad that you’re listening out there in Denver, Colorado. All right, Dennis and Lake Conforter leaves an offer. Question he says, I heard you say last week to someone that Christ does not come into your heart. Please explain Romans 10, 9, and 10. I don’t think you understood what I said. I said, you don’t become saved by inviting Christ into your heart.
You get saved by trusting that Christ died and shed his blood to pay for all of your sins. Well, one of the many dozens and dozens of consequences of getting saved… It is that Christ does come into your life and involves you as a believer. That is true. You do not get saved by saying Christ come into my life. You get saved by trusting that Christ died and was buried and rose again from the dead. I think you misunderstood what I said.
You can ask for any consequence of salvation and not be saved. of salvation is that you won’t go to hell. But you could get up every day and say, God, I don’t want to go to hell. God, I don’t want to go to hell. God, I don’t want to go to hell. And you’ll go to hell. Unless you trust that Christ died and shed his blood and paid your full sin dead at the cross, was buried and rose again from dead and trust him and him alone to go to heaven, you will go to hell.
So, asking for a consequence doesn’t get you saved. And that’s what I was saying. So, So if you ask Christ to come in your life, you can do that every day of your life and go to hell. You must trust TRUST. Christ died, shed his blood, paid your sin, didn’t fall, was buried, and rose again from the dead. Thank you Dennis in Lakeland, Florida. Apparently you weren’t listening carefully to what I said because I didn’t say that. I said you do not become saved by inviting someone or Christ rather in your heart or you’re delivering your pancreas or whatever you’re going to do.
That does not say. But once you trust Christ, He involves in your body. And so I’m sure He’s not isolated to the pumping organ. He’s indwelling in your body and lives there as a believer. It says in Colossians 128, Christ dwells in us the hope of glory, certainly. But He doesn’t come into your life because you invite Him to come into your life. That’s the false gospel that’s out there today. that you come into your life, I’ve listed born again what happened, I listed 39 consequences.
You can ask God for any of the consequences that will ever be saved. But if you simply trust Christ, all 39 consequences will become yours. And I stopped at 39 because it was a nice number. There’s more than 39 things that happen at the moment, at the instant that you believe that are all irreversible, you become saved eternally once you trust Christ. Dean in St. Petersburg says, who created the people in the wilderness and why was Cain afraid of them?
Well, those people were Cain’s relatives. Obviously, Cain enabled one of the first two humans on the earth after Adam and Eve, and they were not babies in the sandlot out back when the murder took place. They were 125 years of age and some speculate with a multiple births and the young age of marriage that they probably had about 100,000 people on the earth at the time of the murder. So we find that he was afraid of those. He wasn’t afraid of anybody in the wilderness.
If you read very carefully, Genesis 4.14, Cain said, my punishment is greater than I can bear in everyone that finds the facial slimy. It was after that that he was banished to the land of Nod, but he was still around people that would have probably hurt him or killed him, had they found him and God of course put a mark on him that they would not bother him and banished him to the land of Nod. He took his sister, his wife with him and they had children there in the land of Nod, but he was already married and took her there to Nod to live what he was banished.
Thank you for that question, Gene, in St. Petersburg. Okay, we have another Carl here on the line, and Carl, welcome to Bibleline. Hey, how are you doing, Dr. Lensch? Good. I wanted to make a comment towards a gentleman that was talking about the, just because the first is they’re their Baptist, that doesn’t mean they’re saved. That’s a religion also. So I have met some Baptist that have it, but also meet some Baptist that don’t have it. You have to submit your life.
You have to dedicate your life. You take your life. You have to let a hand, like you say, the sleight of the hand, that’s been and it’s worked. So that’s not a lie that it is a free gift. And just because a person said it their back is that doesn’t mean that they’ve got free of saying it their saved because you have to be very careful to listen to the message of the gospel. And when there’s something added to it, it doesn’t make no difference what the religion is.
They definitely not saved. Thank you, Colin. You’re absolutely right. You’re not saved because you’re a Baptist. You’re saved because you have trusted Christ, death, and shed blood as the means of your salvation. And that would be true of any religious group. But of course, if you’re in a… We’re at the end of the program here. Thank you to Paul and thank you to all that called in today. Let me remind you, we’re leaving for Israel.
