Hit submit and we will get that. We’ll be trying to answer those as soon as we can. We have lots of questions here. We didn’t get answered by us. Hopefully, we’ll get a chance to take a look at some of these. Give your Bible there, get it out. We know that the Bible is the Word of God, and we believe it. Here at Bibleline from cover to cover, we even believe the cover. It says holy Bible, and we don’t have a book for holes, but we believe it is God’s very own holy word, given to mankind.
what a gift we have in having a copy of the Holy Scriptures. Most Christians are not aware of how serious it is to add to what Jesus Christ has finished. It really is the difference between whether a person would be saved or not save. This is the difference between heaven and hell. The salvation that God has provided through Jesus Christ is by grace. Ephesians says, by grace, on Meredith Taver, mercy, are you saved through faith in Jesus Christ? And that none of yourselves, it is the gift of God, none of works lest any man should boast.
Ephesians 2, 8, and 9. What a great verse that is. And certainly explains clearly how we are saved. By grace you are saved. Notice it’s in the past tense because salvation is something that occurs when you trust Christ, that you can look back to as an event when you became born again in the family of God and from that point on, are forever saved. Acts 1511 says, but we believe that through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, we shall be saved.
That’s a quote from Peter. Peter the Apostle says here, but we believe that we’re saved through the sacraments. No. We believe we’re saved through the commandments. No. We believe we’re saved through the church. No. Peter says, Acts 1511, we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, we shall be saved. His mercy is unmerited. favor, bestowed upon all those that would believe is the means by which we are saved, and we are saved by grace. Eternal life is not received by a teen, by kept by conduct, works, behavior, and so on.
We are saved by grace, which is really by definition the absence of any works. Grace by definition excludes all works. Let me quote Romans 11.6. an if by grace. Then is it no more of works. Otherwise, grace is no more grace. But, if it be of works, then it is no more grace. Otherwise, work is no more work. Romans 11.6, what did he say? It sounds confusing, isn’t it? But really, what it’s saying here is that grace and works are opposites.
You can’t mix them, too. It’s either one or the other. Either you are attempting to be saved by your works which will mean you’ll go to hell or you are saved by God’s grace excluding all works and that means you’ll go to heaven and there’s no mixing it up. The fact that there are two opposites is what is being presented here. Let me put something else into this equation. It’s daytime outside. Therefore it cannot be nighttime otherwise daytime wouldn’t be daytime.
But if it were nighttime outside, then it couldn’t be daytime. Otherwise nighttime wouldn’t be nighttime. What we’re saying here is it can’t be daytime and nighttime at the same time. I don’t know if that helped or it was further confusion. But Romans 11.6 says, if by grace, then it’s no more of works. Otherwise grace, by definition, isn’t grace. But if a beam works, then it’s no more of grace. Otherwise work is no more work. Romans 11.6. saying here that if you are saved by grace there can be no works involved with that or you won’t have grace.
The second phrase is really scary. It says, but if it be of works then it is no more grace. If you try to say be saved by any work you’ll have no grace. If you stand before God you’ll have no mercy, no grace you will not make heaven. It’s like that woman that went down to the photographer, had pictures taken. She got the proof back. She was irate. She was upset. She stormed back down to the photographer, laid those proofs on his desk and said, these pictures don’t do me justice.
And he looked at her and said, lady, you don’t need justice. You need mercy. Well, you know, guess what? All this neem and race, race, need mercy. If we got justice, we’d all go to hell. If you got justice, you’d go to hell. If I got justice, I would go to hell. Thank God for the mercy of God. You know Jeremiah in Lamentations said, if it were not for the mercies of God, we’d all be destroyed. Every one of us would be destroyed and separated from God’s presence for all eternity in hell.
It is because of the love of God that God offers eternal life by mercy, by grace. And this grace excludes all works, and if you attempt to be saved by any work, you will not be saved at all. Kind of scary. Let me just give you an illustration. If I had a glass of pure water, H2O, and I offered it to you, I’m sure you would not hesitate to drink it. But if I in your presence took a glass of pure water and just squeezed off one drop of poison into that water and kind of stir it around and hand it to you.
Would you be hesitant to drink it? I think you would because all we do is take one drop of poison to contaminate the whole glass of water. And so what you have now is no longer a glass of water, you have a glass of poison. You wouldn’t want to drink it. Let’s say you had a glass full of the grace of God. God’s unmerited favor, His mercy extends toward us. If you were to add one work to that, according to the Bible, you would no longer have mercy.
You would have contaminated it. You would have poisoned it, and now you would have a glass of poison. will not save you. You cannot be saved by Grace Plus Works. You cannot be saved by grace plus works. It’s one or the other. If you just add one drop of poison to a glass of pure water, it would render no more glass of pure water but a glass of poisoned water. The gospel of the grace of God becomes poisoned when we adjust one human work to the plan of salvation.
Christ plus works equals no salvation. I’ll say that again. Christ plus works. This is a biblical form that are made clear throughout the Scripture. Christ plus church membership equals no salvation. Christ plus water baptism equals no salvation. Christ plus living the Christian life equals no salvation, and on and on I can go. The tragedy is that those who are teaching this error and those receiving this error receiving this error think that they are more secure in their salvation as a result of their works.
Satan has blinded their minds. Second Corinthians 4 and 4. It says in Galatians 5, Christ has become of no effect unto you. This, however, view are justified by works or by the law. You are fallen from grace. The scripture is quite plain on the subject, yet this error of Christ plus still persists. Notice Galatians 5.4, whom is it speaking? We are told within the verse that it is addressed to, whosoever of you are justified by the law, or by works.
These are the ones who are fallen from grace. These are the ones that Christ will count or profit you nothing. And it says here in Galatians 5, 4, Christ has become of no effect unto you, whoso review are justified by works or by the law. Christ shall profit you nothing, the Bible says. You’ll not be saved. But in verse 5 of Galatians 5, it says we, believers, that is, the writer of Galatians Paul only possible, including himself in that way.
And he says, we through the Spirit, wait for the hope of righteousness by faith, by faith, by faith. We wait for this righteousness that will have any turn of age. A large crowd of those who are in the Christ plus category will stand before the word one day at the judgment called the great white throne judgment. Jesus says, and I’ll quote it, Matthew 722, many will say to me in that day, Lord Lord, haven’t we preached in your name and by name, cast out demons and in thy name done many wonderful works, Matthew 722.
And notice these are the Christ plus persons. They brag about preaching in the name of Christ, healing in the name of Christ, doing many wonderful works in the name of Christ. These are a perfect example of what the scripture talks about when you talk about Jesus plus works. What were the results? How did Christ respond? Did He let him into heaven? Let’s see. Verse 23 of Matthew 7 says, Christ will say, then I will profess in the them, I never knew you.
Depart for me ye that work iniquity. Matthew 7, 22. Jesus said to this Christ plus crowd, I never knew you. Not, I once knew you and I lost you, but I never knew you. Why? Because they were adding works to what Christ had done as the means of salvation. It’s scary, but a lot of people who think they’re saved are not saved. And many who will name the name of Christ will stand before the Lord Jesus Christ one day and say, Lord, Lord, didn’t we preach in your name and heal in your name and do wonderful works in your name.
Christ said, look, I never knew you. I never knew you. Not I once seen a loss that you were never saved because you were trusting in your works. I’m Dr. Anks Lindstrom. This is by blind. We’re going to go to the phone lines here and you’re welcome to call us at 1-800-576-3771. We’re going to go first to Geno in Tampa, Florida. And Geno, welcome to by blind. You’re on the air. Hello, Geno. Are you hearing me? Yeah, I do.
Okay. My question is about judging others. You always hear people say that you can’t judge, you’re not the judge in me and they say that’s in the Bible. I thought in the Bible it says that actually you can judge others, but when you judge others others that same judgment can come upon you or in the same of B. How can they do what you say you want to do if you want to judge others too? I just want to know if they’re scripting there like that.
Well, absolutely. We can judge whether somebody is saved or not or whether not. You know, first time, don’t be every spirit because they’re made into the world and we’re to test them against the word of God. And if they speak differently than the Bible, they’re wrong. Isaiah 8 20 says if they speak not according to this word is being is because there is no light in them. What God is saying when he talks about not judging others is judging things that we can’t judge.
Let me just give you a great example. First Corinthians 4, verse 5 says, therefore judge nothing before the time until the Lord come who will bring to light the hidden things of darkness. How in the world can you know the hidden things of darkness in somebody else’s life? You don’t, only the Lord knows. And so he’s gonna judge that. We can’t accuse them of things we don’t know that they’ve done or not. He says, here he’ll make manifest the counsels of the heart.
You don’t know what’s really inside somebody’s mind. I was ready to interview somebody for a church office at our church and I asked him about his tenants at our church and so on. And he said, look, let me confess to you. I come to your church so I can make business contacts. He wasn’t sold out for the Lord. He wasn’t living for Christ. He came here to make contacts to further his business. He was honest enough to admit that to me, and obviously we didn’t elect him to any office here in our church.
But if you looked at him and said, wow, this guy is a model Christian. Look at that. He’s faithful every Sunday. He’s talking to people. He’s friendly. Well, he was making business contacts. He wasn’t here because he loved the Lord. Thank God he was honest, and we may have wound up electing him in an office leading the the church if we hadn’t have known that but the Bible says here don’t judge those things which you are not able to know and to judge because the Lord will one day reveal the hidden things of the heart and he’ll make manifest those councils of the heart and the hidden things of darkness will come out and then God will judge that but the things we can know certainly we’re able to judge them.
Okay. That helps. It does. That’s just one more question I have to listen. It’s about the discipline of kids. Is it just talk to kids? In what way are they talking about just talking to your kids? I’m going to listen. Thank you. Well, you know, sometimes a child, you can just give them a look and they know that they better not do whatever they’re thinking about doing. you can just look at them and they just freeze. If they don’t respond to that, you might have to put them in timeout or give some other measure of punishment.
But they’re different levels and it’s wonderful if you could just kind of give them a look or point a finger and shake it saying no, no, no, no, no, no, and they respond. But sometimes they need more severe Chasing come upon them and that’s what the Bible says you read the book of Proverbs It has a lot of advice about being a parent and raising your children I’d recommend you know that you read the book of Proverbs. We’re now going to go to Kevron in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and welcome to Bibleline.
I knew you are on the air Okay, yeah, you’re on the air go ahead Go ahead. My question is concerning women about the inner ministry. The other night I was talking to the people who are interested in becoming a minister and I told them that women sit and teach the Bible and they they knew me as a soul in this pig but I gave them a scripture first Timothy to and they said that the new covenant and he is being a heart-teached able to keep the word of God is that true no No, that’s not true at all.
And the new covenant came about about 25 years before, well, actually probably more than 35 years before first Timothy was written. And Timothy was written to people in this age in the New Testament age, the church age. And it says here very plainly in my Bible, I suffered not or allow not a woman to teach. In that word, teach there is a very unique word talking about teaching the word of God. The word teach is also used over in Titus where women are to teach, but it tells us what they’re to teach, but it’s not the Bible.
If you read very carefully what it says about there in Titus about how the older women are to teach the younger women, and here’s a list of things that women are qualified to teach. It says the age of women, likewise, They should be in behavior as become a holiness, Titus 2, 3. Not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things. The other one is the young women. That’s the second thing. They might teach the young women to love their husbands.
That’s the third thing. To teach the young women to love their children. That’s the fourth thing. To teach younger women to be discreet. To be chased. To be keepers at home. To be good. To be obedient to their own husbands. And so on. So there’s all this other things that they can teach, but they’re not to be teaching the Word of God.
absolutely absolutely should not do that at all we should follow women absolutely not and you know uh… the reason why is because they have a tendency to go off doctorally and the bible warns about how that uh… many uh…Against go off doctorally it says here in uh… first timothy GROUP LIMITED Supplementary embroiled a muyomiCEO SoundersArsenalDepths088 Sounders tmp SupplementaryTHIS McAuliffe044arijACTION and says, be careful that you don’t follow old wives’ fables. This is in 1st Timothy chapter 4, it says, the Holy Spirit speaking expressly, that in their latter times, some shall depart from the faith, and they’ll give heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons.
And it says here in verse 7, for us to refuse profane in old wives’ fables and exercise thyself rather than the godliness. So we need to be careful about women who are teachers, And look at what’s happened. The seven dead menace came for some LNG white. And obviously her fables, I’ve got that whole group blinded. The Christian scientists, Mary Baker Eddy, she had about five or six wives. They all kept dying off. But Mary Baker Eddy certainly messed up everything.
And the Christian scientists are far, far from the truth. What’s interesting is that they’re neither Christian nor scientific, either one. like great months to seriously see the grapes were nuts but christmas scientists have gone up because of a woman teacher and i look at the list of women teachers out there today and i can’t find a good woman teacher uh… that’s doctorless and well the bible just says that’s the reason why and you know uh… you see it throughout the bible you know uh…
moses in fact his wife tried to take over spiritual leadership in their home and almost most of those almost killed by the war because of that she refused to circumcise their boys and as a result, God in Exodus there stood in the way and was read into kill Moses and then as a poor came up with a sharp knife or a rock and cut off the foreskin of her children and God spared Moses’ life. But he almost died because of that because his wife took over spiritual leadership and she was absolutely dead wrong.
And that was just one example that you find throughout the Bible. Good to be with you folks down in Miami and I want to say how glad we are to be on in Miami. And thank you all for you the call and listen and are supportive and pray for us. And we are a list of supportive. We hope to one day get a full hour down there, but we need your financial help to be able to do that. If you are enjoying Bible in Miami and you want to help us, you can send a gift to Bibleline.
Just call our operators and you can give it by credit card over the phone you can all ask for an envelope to be sent and mail a gift in the Bible and but thank God for all of you. We are so excited about being on the air in Miami. I was born and raised in Miami so I have a particular heart for Miami and I pray that the Bible and can be there for a full hour every day. Thanks for tuning in today.
We’re going to now continue with the stations that still have a little bit of time before this half hour is over. But then we’re going to do a second half hour of Bible End. We’re now going to go to Anne in Lakeland, Florida, and Anne, welcome to Bible End. You are on the air. Anything in there? Hello. Hi, you’re on the air. Hi, thank you. You have a question? Yes, I do. I was told that getting hypnotized opens a door to demons.
True. I believe that’s true. Anytime you lose control over your mind or over your body, you are allowing demonic activity to possibly take place. So I would stay far away from that. Okay. What about the word of faith church? Is that a good? The book Christianity in Crisis by Hank Hennigraphe and it will show you how bad it is. These people just make up things and like Benny Hinn has nine in his trinity. Has Adam and Eve flying to the moon and back without wings and able to swim under the sea like a fish and all kinds of crazy doctrines that just make up as they go.
It’s quite a revealing book. And if you can’t believe what you see in print there, you can get the audio version. We actually hear these guys speaking these things, which you will say, we’re in the world. Do they get that nonsense? Because they make it up. It’s not in the Bible for sure. The word of faith is really where they place faith in faith, not faith in Christ. Okay. Are you familiar with the break free in Tampa, the deliverance, a division of welfare past ministry.
I’m not I’m not saying I have to check that out. Okay. Alrighty. Thank you. Welcome. Thank you for calling in. We are about out of time here. We’re gonna do our break and do a second half hour Bible ends. I keep your radio tune right where it is and we’ll be right back after this break to do a second half hour and stay tuned. Don’t let that radio dial change and we’ll be right After this short break, don’t go away.
Bibleline will be back in a moment. Give us a call at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. I’m Dr. England Sturman. It’s great to be with you. We enjoy being with you every day, Monday through Friday, and today’s Monday and we look forward to a great week here on Bibleline. By the way, this program is streamed on the Internet and there you can go and listen to it in archive. It’s often as you like, then you can listen to it live right now.
If you go to BibleLineMinistries.org and click on that spinning globe. I want you to know that we have a lot of resources in our Resource Center, and if you can’t come by and visit, you can go on the Internet and see our Resource Center as well. Just click on BibleLineMinistries.org and click on the online bookstore and you’ll see the many resources we have. These areNormally things that I recommend. I have wasted a lot of money over the years. I bought thousands and thousands of books.
And many of them I found were not worth anything. I wasted my money. But we have condensed our resource that are down to books that I think you’ll find very, very helpful. The best that I’ve ever run across. And we have the Jameson Possett Brown 3-volume commentary. It is incredible. That’s the one that’s my favorite. He gives you some comment on every verse in the Bible. The Jameson Faucet Brown 3-volume site. It retails for about 140, 150 somewhere in there, but we have it for a gift of 100.
If you’d like to get that Jameson Faucet Brown commentary, you’ll find it’s worth its weight in gold. We also have the J. Vernon McGee 5-volume commentary, He gives you something on every chapter, not on every verse, but you’ll also find it very, very helpful to you in your Bible study. He’ll get you in the right direction on that chapter, whichever chapter you’re studying. But the James of Azerbaijan would pick you right down to each verse, which I think if you have both, you’ll really have some wonderful tools in your arsenal of Bible study.
We also have one of my teachings on CV and DVD, and you might want to use those for personal study. In your drive time in your car to and fro from work you can use it to facilitate a Bible study Many do we have Bible studies around the country where people will play a portion of the CDV or DVD and Take questions and have group discussion and then have refreshments and go home and Understand is very successful and you might want to try that But order some through calling in to talk to our operators that can help you or order directly off of our online bookstore on the website.
BibleLineMinistries.org and we hope that you’ll check that out for yourself. We’re going to return to stations that have been on break and do the second half hour Bible end. So hope you’ll stay tuned and don’t let that dials tray. We’re about ready to do the second half of Bible end and here we come back to the stations that have been on a break.
When you like to call Bibleline and ask Dr. Lindstrom a question, you can. Just pick up your phone and dial 1-800-576-3771. Now here again is Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Right, we’re back in that break and this is Bibleline. It’s Monday. It’s great to be with you. We’re coming you live from Tampa, Florida. From our studios right here at the Calvary Community Church, we’re on the pastor. You’re always welcome to come by and say, Hi, visit us. We had a lot of visitors this past Sunday yesterday.
And we’re excited always when visitors come by and say hello, we get to meet our visitors. And we had a lot of fun yesterday, it was a great time. And we invite you to come by if you ever get in the area. But if you can’t, you can go to the website and you can visit our worship services. That’s right. You can go to BibleLineMinistries.org, click on the camera and you’ll be connected to our worship services throughout the week.
A year’s worth of sermons are sitting there, video and audio, for you to watch and listen to them. And if you go there at 11 o’clock Sunday morning, you’ll be able to catch the service live. The audio and the video will come up on your screen right around a few minutes past 11, and I hope you’ll take advantage of that and watch us at home. in the week or live on Sunday morning at 11 a.m. We’re now going to go to David and St.
Petersburg and David. Welcome to Bibleline you are on the air and thank you for calling out David. Hello David. I think I have the wrong line on that one. David, let’s see if I have you on there. David, I don’t know who I have here on this line but we’ll I’ll keep trying here. Let me have here. We have Brad in Clearwater, Florida. Let’s see. Brad, are you there? Yeah, yeah, I’m here. I’m right here. David wasn’t there. Yeah, we had a couple of people there that I think maybe we weren’t paying attention.
But anyway, we’d have to have you, Brad. Oh, well, thank you. I have a question. I have a question. I was with the radio earlier and I was wondering if volunteer positions in the church are… do they have to go through a whiteboard? I would ask that because I can only assume that if you were to hire somebody on staff, that would be a paid position. what you wouldn’t have a pastor, a system pastor trying to sell one. I’m not really too sure what you’re trying to ask there, but definitely we have volunteers help at this church.
And obviously if you’re going to be hired for a paid position, that’s a different ball game. But volunteers help all the time and you’re welcome to volunteer here. We certainly welcome volunteers and we have them volunteering in so many areas. Most of our people are volunteers in fact. So I’m not too sure Brad what you meant by that question. And so you might have to clarify it for us if I didn’t even hit close on that. I’m not too sure that I did.
We’re now going to go to David in St. Petersburg. David, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Hello, Dr. Laster. Yes, David. Yes, hello. Can you hear me? Yes, I can. Okay. I don’t know exactly what’s your property and the temple saying to me what would you do. I’m not too sure what prophecy or passage you’re referring to, but there were in the Old Testament times different people that God used, but the gift of prophecy is no longer necessary.
We now have the completed New Testament. So the gift of prophecy is gone. So there is nobody today that has that particular gift. So maybe that’s what you’re referring to here. But maybe you might be talking about Anna. This is the passage that comes to my mind in Luke chapter 2. It says there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Fennuil, of the tribe of Assar. She was of great age, had lived with her husband seven years from her virginity.
She was a widow of about 84 years and she departed not from the temple but served God day and night with fastings and prayers. She came in at the very instant that Mary Joseph brought Jesus to dedicate him at the temple. At eight days old and we find here it says that she coming in at that instant gave thanks unto the Lord and the spake of him to all that looked for redemption in Jerusalem. So you notice this woman was a witness for Christ and she happened to get a chance to see Jesus as an infant as he came into the temple.
So that might be your point there. But 1 Corinthians 13 8 through 10 said the gift of prophecy would cease when the New Testament record was completed. So by the end of the day, the Lord was a witness to the Lord. the first century the gift has now been taken away and nobody today does it. So there have been, yes there have been, but she was not a priest and she was not a leader in the church and but she definitely was had the gift of prophecy.
Thank you so much and we now are going to go on to Willie in Chester, Virginia. Now I’m not going to willy i’m going to go to louis in orlando for the land of was working the bible yeah was Yes, am I in here? You are. Oh, okay. My question was, do you believe that Christians could have demons not be possessed with demonized? christians cannot be involved but we can be oppressed influenced and so on and so that’s why it says in the first time it says chapter four verse one beloved talking to believers don’t believe every spirit that you hear because many false uh…
teachers going on the wall So demons will speak to different people and Christian can listen to them, get into bad doctrine and they can become oppressed and sidetracked and in a sense he might say demonized but they would not be able to be in 12. The Holy Spirit involves us and that’s a great verse right there in 1 John and when we’re talking. Where it says in most four, first John, greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.
We’ve overcome the spirits and the demons that we can have victory over them and the Holy Spirit dwells on us. He’s greater than Satan and his demons. So, we can’t be involved. So, our diseases are just legal right of demons to enforce their curse on you for a particular sin or what are they in that case? Are they in legal right to your life? As you said, you allow God to let demons come after you. And so you need to be, like it says in 1 Peter 5, if you’re steadfast in the faith, that’s the way we resist the devil.
The Lord will take care of the demons. But if you don’t, like it says in 1 Corinthians 5, there’s a man living in adultery with his mother, and it says there in verse 5 to deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh that the Spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. So here Satan was allowed, or his demons allowed to kill this man, but he’s still saved. But he went home to heaven early, so definitely demons can come after you.
I wouldn’t focus on the demons. I would focus on the Lord if you’re living for Christ. The Lord will take care of the demons. Now hope that helps. Okay. Thank you. Thank you, Louis. It was Louis in Orlando, Florida. And now we’re going to David David in St. Pete and I guess we’re back to our conversation. Go ahead. Yes. I was at a church the other day, which was a very good service. And then I asked them afterwards about eternal security.
He quoted some of these verses. Jimmy, could you look up 1 Corinthians 1539? Sure. I’m on my way. Okay, and I’m almost there. First Corinthians chapter 15. And I’m almost there. 39. I’m just now past it in the second Corinthians. Second Corinthians 9 8. Okay, second Corinthians 9 8. Let’s see what it says here. He says Christians don’t make sand, but not willfully. If they willfully send, they can’t be Christians.
That’s not true at all. Obviously, I think every Christian not only still sins, but I’m sure they do it willfully. I mean, obviously we just don’t accidentally sin. It begins in our mind, the Bible tells us in the book of James, and then if we keep playing with that in our mind, we’re going to wind up doing it. What is the verse against 2nd Corinthians 1? But by the way, I didn’t say John, or John was says, you said, he said, yeah, that’s true, but you got to go up in context of a few chapters ahead.
The person, when he said that, he was talking when he said that. That’s not true at all. John was talking to believers from the get-go there in 1 John chapter 1, where that is, 1 John 1 8 says, if we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not innocent. There’s no reference to anybody under the law. talking to believers from the very beginning or it was second print is not a alright and it says here and got is able to make all grace about toward you is that the first and what is the point i don’t get it He said something about, if you have to add to grace by obedience, which is something important for a salvation, he says all this stuff refers to the people that are under the law and it’s Christians will sin but if it’s willful and it’s continuous, they don’t have any salvation at all.
And I said, well look at King David, he lived in adultery most of it and it was willful. And just well, well, they became came up with some kind of stuff for that, you know Like you this was Judas saved never Just never yeah, he said Judas was saving pointed all these verses like at 25. Yeah second Peter 220 about yet in percent he was saved and that he’d actually lost his salvation you’re the bad church where would you where you went i wouldn’t go back that’s bad doctor he obviously doesn’t know his bible the one and and saying he is talking about a false profit over the chapters all about false prophets who escaped some of the moral pollution of this world by their knowledge of Christ, but yet they never become saved at all.
They turn from the commandment to believe on Christ, and it says the lettering is worse with them at the beginning. In other words, they’re going to have a greater degree of punishment because of the closeness to the truth that they had and will be greater punished in hell because they rejected greater light than somebody who didn’t even know anything about the Lord. No. He pointed out the verses of the Judas, the Y, like I think 2 Peter 220 and something about all these things, the proof he was saved and then he fell off the salvation.
I think Romans 5, 20 was another one of the Z1. Nothing there about Judas. Christ made it clear in John 664 that Judas was never a believer. He said he knew from the beginning who they were that believed not and who should betray. I mean, he talked about Judas there being one of the Paul but yet the one that was not saved. Peter in a little bit later says that he gave a great confession there, that we believe that you’re the Christ, the Son of the Living God, and we have eternal life through you.
And Jesus had the correct, and said not all of you, just one of you is unclean, and he referred to Judas as not being saved. So there are a lot of passages that talk about Judas as never being saved, and it says he went to his own place, he went to hell because he never trusted Christ as his Savior. Well, I said that Stephen and I crossed what works did he do? And he said, well, he did the work of faith.
His faith is also, he’s this is empty. He’s his faith, meaning it’s also work. He’s faith you have to do something, think something to have faith and that’s work. And that’s how he explained that Stephen and I crossed and never did anything but believe and once it’s, you know. Well, getting’s wrong because the Bible defines faith as not being a work. It says, It says in Romans chapter 4 and verse 16, it says, therefore it is of grace that it might be by faith.
And then it says, Roman 11, 6, if you connect the dots, that if it’s by grace, then it’s not of work. It’s by grace that it might be by faith. And then it says, if it’s by grace, then it’s not a work. So faith is not a work. And it actually says that it’s trust in the work that God did for you at the cross, not a work on our part at all. You know, faith, by the way, if faith was works, that means even that Jews who not put the work on Sunday, the rest of the day, rest of the week, if faith is works, then it works.
If faith is works. Yep. Yep, you’re absolutely right. That’s a good point. Yeah, I mean, checkmate, you know. What? David, keep it up because for about this church, Some of them are real subtle there and they argue works very subtly there to try to and they’re false. They just don’t have it right. We’re now going to go to Tobias in Bradenton, Florida and Tobias will come to my room here.
Hello to my I think that when the problem with that line we’re gonna go now to Mike and Saint Pete Mike welcome to my one year Dr. Hank, thank you very much for taking my call by speaking with somebody who sitting under the instruction, okay? and I watched A certain message that he gave on his belief in the doctrine of predestimation. And he used a verse in John chapter 6 verse 65.
predestination is because And unless it was given to you. Well that is not true. Obviously every man has the capacity to trust. And of course the Calvinist teaches that you can’t believe on Christ until Mosephir has first come in you and worked you over so that, and it gives you the gift of faith and then you believe. So, then over the Bible teaches. I was wondering if you could, I hate to interrupt you, I was wondering, I’m on break it up, so I’m going to, can you enlighten me a little bit more about Mr.
Sproul and what you know about his stuff and I’m going to hang up and listen to you on the air. Okay, our C. Sproul is a Calvinist and believes that you have no choice, that God makes the the choice for you and we find here it says in John 665 the verse that he is quoting, no man can come unto me except you are given him of my father and it also says in John 644 no man can come except the father draw him but it is interesting that they don’t tell you about John chapter 12 where Jesus said if he is lifted up on the cross what he was that he would draw all men under himself.
So he draws everybody. And so everybody has been drawn by the Father. Everybody has the opportunity to become saved. And to say that only certain ones that are chosen can come is certainly not true. And he’s also replaced with theology. He believes God is all done with Israel. That there is no rapture, no tribulation period, no millennial kingdom. Christ already came back in 8070, that the tribulation period was 8064 to 8070, that Nero was the Antichrist. The book of Revelation has already been fulfilled and we don’t need to be looking for a rapture and that the churches are placed Israel.
There’s no future kingdom with Christ coming back as the king of the Jews and ruling here on the earth that so much prophecy talks about. They deny all of that and say it’s all done for. It’s actually unfortunate, but they really go backwards in their learning of the Word of God because they, instead of going forward and advancing and seeing what God’s Word says, they go back to the teaching of the Reformation a couple hundred years ago and that’s why they call it Reformed theology.
It’s going backwards. It’s not going forward. It’s like studying math or science from two two, three hundred years ago. What a fix we’d be in if you believed that. Even our first president died of bloodletting because they fought at that time that the blood was the carrier of evil spirits and diseases and the way to cure somebody was to cut them and let them bleed and let all the demons out. So that is craziness. Obviously it’s I think not too smart to go back but to go forward.
The scriptures are there. They’re very clear and I think his doctrine is very confused. I hope it helps a little bit. Thank you for that call. We now are going to go to Carl in Tampa, Florida. Carl, welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air. Yeah, Carl. Yeah. The Bible says that even the faith that we have is given to us. So obviously it can’t be. But the other thing I was going to say is that when it talks about prophecy and the strong concordance, prophecy, if you look up the definition, it says either foretelling or foretelling.
So prophesy, when people prophesy, I believe that, you couldn’t believe it’s wrong but i believe that is saying that not only used to be made in the old test never was for telling now is for telling another was telling people about the gospel then yeah Very good. I like that. I mean, that’s what the strong’s concordance says.
And telling people about Jesus. Well, typically so. But the other stuff that’s going on today is clearly more like fortune telling or witchcraft. It’s predicting people’s, you know, as a good old palm reader, get the same advice. But you’re right. I agree with what you’re saying. All right. So you think that’s basically what it’s saying for telling me and telling. Yeah. Sure. Sure. Thank you. All right. Thank you. All right. Let’s go now to Bernard in 10. before to Bernard welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air.
Thank you. Bernard are you there? Yeah I’m still here. I hear you’re radio but I can’t hear you. Oh you can’t hear me? I hear you so softly. The radio is up too loud. Yeah I’m turning the radio sound. All right you’re on the air. What’s the question? My question is simply this. You say about the process. The gifts that they had then, the gifts of proxy and all the gifts. What gifts do they still have now? that they, what gifts do they have now that they, now, since they don’t have all the gifts they have back then?
Well there are 19 gifts of the Spirit that are listed in the New Testament, but most of them have ceased or passed away. For example, the gift of evangelism is still around, and yet if you don’t have that gift, you’re still to evangelize. Everybody’s to share the gospel, whether you have a gift or not. If you’re gifted with the gift of events, let’s say you’ll find great success in evangelizing people. Also there’s a gift of giving that’s still around and although you don’t have the gift of giving, still every believer is obligated to give but that’s one of the gifts.
Another gift is a gift of helps to help people, to administrate helps to other people and so on. So there’s a whole listing of these gifts that are still present in Romans chapter 12. If you look there in your Bible, you’ll find a good list for yourself. All right. Yes, Romans chapter 12. And you said also, what’s taken away is the first Corinthian heart. 13, 8 through 10. 13 through 10. 1, 2, 3. Chapter 13. All right. Thank you so much for your call.
And there are quite a few gifts that are still left, but the spectacular ones. We believe we’re temporary in nature and have ceased. We’re now going to go to Jerry in Plant City, Florida. Jerry, welcome to Bibleline you’re on there. Yes sir, in Acts 2 17 and in Joel 2 28, we’re talking about young men and old men with visions and dreams. And it says in the last days, why is that going to be so significant about young men dreaming?
I mean, seeing visions and old men dreaming of dreams because I feel that the Lord wouldn’t put that into scripture. Can you stand on that and I’ll hang out and listen to it. Sure. Absolutely. That is not yet fulfilled and that will take place at the Second Coming. If you read Joel chapter 2 where the quote comes from, it says in verse 28, it shall come to pass afterward. Now, afterward, if you read the context here, is after Russia is destroyed at the Battle of Armageddon.
It says in verse 20, I’ll remove far off from you the northern army, which I believe is Russia. We’ll drive you into a land-bearing nestle, I believe that’s Siberia, with a space toward the east sea and it’s in the part toward the utmost sea. That’s the Arctic Ocean and the Pacific. And Russia will be destroyed. Then it talks about Christ returning and actually living in their presence. Verse 27, you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel, that I am the Lord your God, and Israel will never be ashamed again.
That hasn’t happened yet. And any says after that, I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh. That hasn’t happened yet. I wish everybody in the neighborhood around my church had the Holy Spirit, but they don’t. Obviously not everybody today will, but at the end of the tribulation period, when all unbelievers are destroyed and Christ comes back and sets up this kingdom, he’ll pour out the Holy Spirit upon everybody because everybody that’s left or remains is saved. No longer the Holy Spirit.
So none of these things are going to take place until Jesus comes back at the Second Coming. Boy, we have just run out of time so quickly today and we hope you enjoyed the show and we’ll be back tomorrow and I hope you’ll join me then. Again, we want you to know that we have some wonderful books in our Resource Center you might want to get. We’ve got the Exodus case which has actual photographs of the cherry wheels on the bottom of the Red Sea and I hope to see the fellow that heads up that whole project.
In another couple of weeks here we probably going to get together, but it’s exciting.
