Providing real answers to an ever searching world. Got a question? Dial toll free at 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Now here’s the host of Bibleline, Dr. Hank Lindstrom. Good morning and welcome to Bibleline great to be with you today. Thanks for tuning in to the broadcast. We look forward to being with you each and every day Monday through Friday as we come to you live from our studios right here in Tampa, Florida at the Calvary Community Church.
Great to be with you. Thanks for tuning in. We sure look forward to being with you and getting a chance to meet you. And if we ever get that opportunity, that would be wonderful. If you ever come to Tampa, please come by and see us here at our studios. We’re just a block west of Campus International Airport, easy to find and take an extra minute and come by and knock on our door. That’s right, we’re so close to the airport, sometimes I feel like I can reach out and slap those airplanes as they go by.
They’re right there next to us. We are that close, so if you get further than a block or so from the airport, you can know that you’re probably heading in the wrong direction. Come by and see us. We have people coming by every day to visit our resource center, open every day until about 4.30. You can also visit that resource center online, BibleLineMinistries.org. Click on the online bookstore. You’ll see all the different things that we have. We have the Schofield Bible, which is what I recommend.
You want to get the old Schofield, either the 1909 or the 1917 edition. The ones after that have been changed in altar. The new Schofield, oh boy, that really does change a lot of things. And of course the latest that there’s soil selling in the bookstore is the hybrid and it’s something you don’t want. Many, many notes are added that are not by Dr. Schofield. If he knew what they have done, I’m sure he would be raising his fist in protest and obviously they don’t tell you which notes are not by him and it’s scary.
But the old Schofield written a hundred years ago is really incredible. It’s the King James edition of the Bible. It’s the notes that are there assembled and edited by Dr. C. I. Scofield that are so powerful and a great, great tool for your understanding the Bible. We are so glad that you’re with us today. We have just finished 1 Peter and those 10 hours of teaching on 1 Peter are available now on CD and DVD. Lots of folks are getting them and enjoying them.
We also have the Gospel of John. That was a big one. one chapter and we did it in 20 hours of teaching. And so we did verse by verse, about an hour per chapter, and it’s a wonderful study. A lot of people are enjoying that. It’s also available on CD and DVD. Plus we have the commentary I like so much, the Jameson Foset Brown, 3-volume commentary. And that is something that retails for $140-150. We have it for gift of one hundred and it is priceless.
I go through it all the time It has a comment on every verse of the Bible. We also have the Jay Verna McGee five volume commentary beautifully bound nice nice coverage of the Bible. He covers every chapter He doesn’t cover a reverse, but he covers every chapter gets you steered in the right direction direction. And then the famous and faucet brown will take you to every verse. And so between the two of them, you’ll really have a powerful, powerful asset there in your home library.
Again, that James and Faucet Brown retails for 200. We have it for a gift of 100. That is a bargain. And it is beautifully bound five volumes covering the whole Bible. Oh, if you have your Bible handy, we’ll be talking about the Bible. that we’re going to take our call. As you can call us here at 1-800-576-3771. We hope Miami is listening. We know that apparently they took a lightning strike down there yesterday and we’re off the air and we were not broadcast in Miami, but we hope you’re listening today.
Call us and let us know what you’re hearing us. We hope to hear from… The number is 1-800-576-3771. We hope you will call and we will take your question on the air or you can leave it off there if you would like to. We will try to catch it as an offer of questions. We have a lot of those. We are leaving for Israel. We will be doing our broadcast from Israel which will be exciting. and I hope you’ll be listening in and you’ll be able to follow what we’re doing every day.
And lots of folks are telling me they want to go on the next trip. So that’s exciting. If you’re one of those, would you call us and get your name on our list so that we can keep you informed? And we hope that you’ll plan to go with us. If you call in and get your name on the list, it does not obligate you at all. But we would love to have you go. And we hope that you’ll go on the next trip.
We’ll plan another one and this one ought to be wonderful. We’re excited about it and we’ll be broadcasting boardwelling from Israel and you’ll get to enjoy our programs from there. If you have any questions again you can call in 1-800-576-3771 and we invite you to give us that call. We are listeners supported and by the way the only way we are able to be on the air is because of our listeners who are the ones who pray for and give to my mind and maybe you’d like to be a partner with us.
We get your use your help and by the way you can give a gift by credit card over the phone or you can call the Nats for an envelope to be sent with our address on it you can mail that gift in. Just give us a call and you can also of course give on the online bookstore on our website as a secure site you can give a gift there. Thank you again for being a partner with us and praying for Bibleline and we really do the max with what the word provides to us because we don’t pay any salaries.
We send all this money right back out of the airways as we pay the bills for the satellite, for the phones, for the stations that were on and for the internet. And by the way, I just got correspondence yesterday off the internet from India from Scotland, pastor there trying to say that Bible isn’t wrong, correct me? Gentlemen, he was a gentleman about it. He signed it with warmest greetings from Scotland. They probably need some heat over there to keep warm, but we’ll see what the Lord has in store because we’re getting from all over the world, from the Pacific Islands, from Australia everywhere.
People are hearing a Bibleline which is exciting. Well if you have your Bible there you get it out. We’re going to talk about the scriptures and it’s amazing to me how people just don’t pay attention closely to detail or to even the words that they say. Somebody the other day just said it was all of grace and then in the next breath he said you have to basically walk with Jesus to go to heaven. Those are conflictory statements. They don’t agree.
You are saved by grace, which means the absence of any works or any action on our part. We simply are saved by receiving Christ. Chapter 4 verse 1 says, this is the book of Romans. Chapter 4 verse 1 says, what shall we say then that Abraham, our Father, has pertained to the flesh and found? Abraham, one of the great heroes of the Bible, what did he learn? What did he learn as concerning the flesh? Well, it says in verse 2, if Abraham were justified by works, catch that phrase there.
If Abraham were justified by works, he hath wear of the glory. But look at the last four words, but not before God, but not before God, but not before God. Abraham learned that his works and his deeds would not bring glory for him before God. How was Abraham saved? Verse 3 gives us the answer. It says, what’s the answer? And guess what? It quotes the scripture. We have a quote here from Genesis 15 and 6. And here it is.
Are you ready? Abraham believed God. And it was counted in the hymn for righteousness. What a great verse. Abraham simply believed. It doesn’t say he believed in God, it says he believed God. He believed what God told him. God gave him the gospel. Abraham believed on Christ. Abraham believed the gospel and was saved. His belief in Christ was canon for righteousness. Galatians 3.8 says the scriptures foreseeing that God would justify the nations through faith preached before the gospel unto Abraham.
You mean the same? about Christ, absolutely not only that. Abraham got a look at Christ. Jesus says in John chapter 8 that Jesus had appeared to Abraham, Abraham saw him and rejoiced. The Jewish audience that was listening says to Christ. You’re not even 50 years old. I’d looked at him and they knew he was young. He was not yet 50 and they said, are you trying to tell us that you’ve seen Abraham? And in John 858 Jesus says, before Abraham was.
I am. In other words, before Abraham was ever born, I existed from eternity past. I’m the eternal God, the God of the universe, the God of creation, the God of Abraham. Isaac, James, and I. and of course Moses and so on. What an amazing statement. Jesus Christ pre-existed all of these guys because he’s God. He exists the creation. He was there before. You know it says in the beginning God, God was there before the beginning began. And Genesis 1-1, hope I didn’t lose you with that.
But you know Jesus Christ is God who came to the earth and took on human flesh and here says in Romans 4, 3, what’s the answer to Scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness. Abraham was made righteous. Abraham went to heaven simply because he trusted Christ. What is amazing here is this wonderful quote from Genesis 15, 6, is quoted in three separate New Testament books. It’s quoted here in Romans 4, verse 3, it’s quoted in Galatians chapter 3, verse 6, and guess what most unlikely place you would think that it would ever be quoted jennison rather james chapter two that’s right james chapter two or says faith about works is dead why in the middle of that to make sure that you the reader understands what james is talking about he’s not talking about a ram salvation but his christian like and about rewards being earned by faith
that does works but right in the middle of passage james two twenty three It quotes and says Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness. Abraham believed and was made righteous. Isn’t that great? Well, there it is. Now, verse 4 says in Romans chapter 4 here, now to him that worked it is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of death. In other words, as long as you’re working, you’ll not have grace. And as long as you’re working, as far as salvation is concerned, you’re just going to have your debt increased because your works will not reduce the debt.
Works won’t pay for sin. So therefore, whatever works you do aren’t going to help you one bit, but you’ll still get further into the negative because your works won’t pay for sin. him that worked at the reward, not reckoned of grace, but of debt. If you were to go down and pay off your credit cards with monopoly money, guess what? They might laugh. They might get a big tickle out of it. But you’re not going to reduce your debt, and if you charge anything else, or if you have late charges, your debt will increase, won’t it?
Because monopoly money will not pay for your credit card, though. Guess what? Your works won’t pay for your sin. And as long as you don’t have your sins paid for you, continue as a human being related back to Adam with a sin nature to sin and therefore your death increases. But look at this marvelous verse in Romans 4 and verse 5 where it says, but to him that workedeth not, but to him that workedeth not. That means doesn’t do a single work to someone who does not work at all.
This is amazing to see it in your Bible. I just was shocked as a brand new believer to see this wonderful verse And I said that is incredible But to him that does not work to him that work if not but believe it that means trust it on him That is Christ that justified the end godly. That’s us his faith in Christ Is kind of for righteousness Wow Wow! In other words, to the person who doesn’t work, but recognizes that Christ died for his sins and paid for him and puts his trust in Christ.
His faith in Jesus Christ is canon for righteousness and he becomes saved. Isn’t that incredible? Let me read that verse again. But to him that worked if not. But believe it on him that justified him, God, that’s Jesus. His faith in Jesus is canon for righteousness. That’s the formative for salvation. It never changes in any part of the Bible. To be saved, number one, you have to recognize you cannot save yourself. I love the quote by Dr. M.R. Dahan, the founder of the Radio Bible class.
Many years ago he said, God will not save a man who is trying to be saved. Think about it. God will not save a man who is trying to be saved. And then he continued by saying, but God will only save a man who is trusting to be saved. Did you get it? God will not save a man who is trying to be saved, but God will only save a man who is trusting to be saved. My friend, as long as you are trying to save yourself, you will not be saved.
You have to come to the place where you realize I cannot save myself. I need a Savior and you simply trust in the one who can save you the Lord Jesus Christ and when you do God saves you Your faith in Christ is kind of a righteousness and it’s to the person does not work at all and I know most of Christianity teaches the opposite you’re gonna say that’s not what my church teaches Well guess what your church might be wrong the Bible is right.
You’re going to have to finally one day either agree with the Bible and trust Jesus alone to be saved, or you’ll find out in hell that you were wrong and maybe your church was wrong. I discovered that my church was wrong, the night I got saved I saw Ephesians 2, 8, and 9 and verse 9 says, none of works, salvation is not of works, let’s say the ancient bust. And I’ll never forget in my mind that I said, somebody’s wrong, somebody’s wrong, get He says, either my church is right and the Bible is wrong or the Bible is right and my church is wrong.
I think you know which way I went. I chose the Bible. And I’ve been often running ever since. My goodness, what a wonderful revelation to see what the Bible says to him that does not work Romans 4-5. But would believe or trust on Christ’s Savior, the one who justifies them godly, his faith in Jesus is counted for righteousness. I’m Dr. Inglenschirm. We’re going to go to the phone lines. lots of colors sitting there waiting and we’re going to hopefully talk to you.
The phone number is 1-800-576-3771. That’s 1-800-576-3771. Our first color is in Green Grove, Florida. I’m not really sure where Green Grove is, but George, welcome to Bible Ed. Okay, not everyone to do it the will of the father. Is that the one about the will of father? Oh That’s the one that says not everyone that says I’m gonna hang up and listen to you on the radio. By the way, where’s green cove? I would miss him there anyway Oh a lot of people get confused with that, but here’s the answer for that and This is this is really good the Bible so good the will of God for you to be saved is different than the will of God for you after you become saved.
The answer one of the clear verses that I could point to that is the answer is John 640. Are you ready for this? John chapter 6 verse 40 and let me quote this wonderful verse to you where it says in John 640 This is the will of him. Matthew 721 talks about the will of the Father. Here it says, this is the will of him that sent me. That is the Father that everyone would see if the Son or acknowledges the Son is the better word and believeth on him may have everlasting life.
So the will of God for you as a lost person to become saved is to recognize who Christ is that you see Him as God, who took on Him and flesh. He is the Messiah. He is the Savior, the Son of God. When you trust in Him, it says here that you would have eternal life. Now after you become saved, the will of God is for you to deliver Him and serve Him as a disciple. That’s the second decision that every believer ought to make.
But we become saved by faith. Write that down, John 640. Maybe write it in the margin there next to Matthew 721. The will of the Father is what gets you into heaven, and God’s will for you to be saved is not the same as God’s will for you after your saved. To be saved, his will is that you trust Christ. After your saved, his will is that you serve him and become a disciple, and that brings about rewards, but we’re not saved by our service.
for save the server but not save by serving i hope you get the drift thank you so much george calling in and we’re now going to go to john in brook still florida and john and brook still welcome by one year yes i’d have to hang I had a question about, we know that God created all things by him, of him to him and through him. He spoke things into existence and was created for his light and his energy.
He spoke into existence. However, about the timing of it, most Christians seems to believe in special creation yet won’t allow for a lengthy period of time, say between Genesis 1, 1, and 1, 2, or 2. the Gap Terry, but could there have been a special creation of animals, let’s say dinosaurs before, and then Satan fell, the scripture say, and then there was a recreation, Tohu Va’bohu, that Hebrew phrase with man, and that would explain the length of time frame for that creation.
A lot of them say, well, Sin did not enter into Adam, so therefore there couldn’t have been a creation beforehand. That’s my question. That’s a good question. And of course the answer to that is that… sinned in the end of the human race to Adam. He obviously was the first human and the first one to sin and pass that down upon the whole human race. But sin obviously began with Lucifer and his fall and in Ezekiel it says that he was perfect until iniquity was found in him.
So iniquity came along before Adam. Obviously, Adam came on after Satan was already fallen. It doesn’t make any sense to see it any of the way. We have a fallen Satan before Adam and Eve come on the scene. And when they come on the scene, he’s there aggressively wanting them to come under God’s curse as well. And so we believe that sin did exist. And the result of sin, the destruction of the Church of Genesis 1 and 2 was the result of Satan’s sin.
death came and death rained but it says Romans 5 Paul which is the one they always appeal to that there was a this didn’t happen before out about it doesn’t say that it says it was no death and there was no sin in the human race until Adam came along. I think a lot of them are afraid that you allow for a time frame of, let’s say thousands or millions of years, that it would lend itself to that you may be heading towards an evolutionary type of model.
I think you’re panicked and I think they’re scratching for something else. Let me read that verse Romans 4 12 says, wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world death by sin and so death passed upon all men. That’s the point death existed before Adam but it only passed upon men after Adam sinned and he brought sin into the human race and that’s the verse they appealed to but I don’t think they read it very carefully. You’re most welcome.
Thank you John for calling in. You seem to be a thinker and I think that’s great. We’re gonna go to Lester And Lester is on all of that Michigan and welcome from Michigan Lester. Thank you. Thank you. Thanks for taking my call, brother. I have a question on Jonah. You went over this about a week ago. Yes. Yes. And I know that Jay Vernon McGee believes that Jonah died in the belly of the whale and I believe that Jonah died in the belly of the whale but which verse?
How do we know? For sure that Jonah died. Very easy. Excuse me because it says that Jonah prayed to the Lord out of the belly of the fish. Right. You have to look carefully now. He He prayed two prayers. The first was in the belly. He was still alive, gagging and choking, I’m sure, on the fact of being submerged. The second prayer is in verse two of Jonah. And it says here, I cried by reason of my reflection under the Lord and he heard me.
and then it says out of the belly of hell. The word hell there is shield, and the only way to get the shield was to die. That’s in the heart of the earth, and that’s the place that the part of did, and he went to paradise in the heart of the earth, and God heard him out of the heart of the earth. The word belly there, in verse two, is a different word in the Hebrew from the word belly in verse one.
The word belly in verse two means a hollow place. The word belly in verse one, where he plays out of the fishes belly, is the word abdomen. And so it’s completely different. And then of course later it says he brought up my life from corruption. When a person dies, their body goes through stages of corruption and God brought up his life from corruption and that’s a resurrection. And Jonah was crucified in a sense, buried and resurrected. The perfect picture of Christ as he died was in tuned in to the Ephesus Valley but came back from the dead, went back into that body and resurrected and was then canceled.
I don’t know the short continuous mission and we lost our color there He gets he had to listen to the answer and we’re now gonna get a bend in Zephyr Hills and Ben Welcome to Bibleline you’re on the air Yes, oh good morning, Dr. Hank You were preaching so good there and your monologue I thought you were getting ready to say slap your neighbor and say you can’t be saved by worse I have a couple of comments and a question.
First of all, I wanted to chime in the other day. There seem to be a lot of colors. You did say something. I’m one of those different people that I do left them in my house because I want to try and win them to Christ. Not trying to elevate myself. Can I hold you till the lift of the break? Because we’re going to run on break. Again, this is Bible and we’re going to take a short break. We’ll come back and do a second half hour.
We are listening to support it. If you are listening and you can help us, would you please maybe give a gift by credit card over the phone today or call and ask for an envelope to be sent. We’re going to take a break. We’ll come right back. Don’t go away. We’re going to finish up with Ben. As soon as we get back from this break. And stay tuned right here. Don’t go away. Bibleline will be back in a moment.

We appreciate our listening audience so much and you’re the heroes that keep this program on the air as we come to you from Tampa, Florida.
Live from our studios here at the Calvary Community Church, we’re on the pastor. Your prayers and your gifts keep Bible and going. We could not do it without you. And I really do thank God for every one of you. And I thank you in advance for any gift that you might send in today or call in today as you can give a gift by credit card over the phone. You can also call and ask for an envelope to be sent mail your gift in.
You can also go to the Bible and website and on the online bookstore. There’s a place where you can give the Bible in. And we’re excited about what God is doing through Bible in. We’ve just gotten email correspondence from India, from Scotland, from West Africa, from in the islands over in the Pacific, from Indonesia. It’s amazing to me the people that are finding us and are writing in. Last month we had 1400 people that actually watched the 7 minute video at the beginning of my website.
Have you seen that? Right as you begin our website you can bypass that but there’s a 7 minute video that presents how to be saved. And by the way 1400 people just last month viewed that. This is not amazing. We’ve had 30 something thousand people fail our am I going to heaven test at the beginning of our website and then come right back around and pass it. So apparently we’re getting people saved at the rate of 30 or 50 a day just through the website quiz on how to go to heaven.
That’s really from the track that we have here available for you called am I going to heaven? You could get those tracks in qualities of 100 and they’re powerful. They really lead a lot of people to Christ as they fail to quiz. They become curious as to what is the right answer and they learn that it’s Christ and they trust Christ and become saved. Why not you get some of those tracks and also of course I hope you realize that God is using Bible and in a mighty way 154 countries have logged on and people are writing to us and corresponding and calling us from all over the world.
That’s exciting and we’re looking forward to seeing the Lord do more if He carries and we wait much longer for Christ to come back. But I think we’re getting close. I think the Lord is coming. I think there’s a sense of urgency at least that I feel that we need to do what we can do for Christ while we can do it. But all the time is still available to us because there’s a day when the Bible says you can’t work anymore.
Once we leave this planet, we go to heaven, then you’ll look back and say, I wish I had done more. I wish I had accomplished more. I wish I had to put more effort into it. I wish I had invested a few more dollars into the Lord’s work to get the gospel out. And thank God for everyone of you who do help us because your gifts and your prayers are deeply appreciated. We’ve got some wonderful notes here just in the past couple of days from people who listen and I really should read some of these on the air.
They are glancing how much they appreciate Bible and what it has done for them and one of her emails about how the gospel became clear. People got saved and people are now moving forward with their Christian life as a result of hearing Bible and what we’ve got Ben who’s been holding on here and I know that Ben we want to get right back to you. Thanks for being so patient with us and Ben we’re back to you and let’s pick up where we were.
Yeah, okay, let’s go back to where we were and start again. Oh, okay, Dr. Hank, thank you. And, yeah, I was just mentioning about the Jehovah’s Witnesses and more comments the other day, who are answering a lot of questions. I was one of those that I actually, I mean, I do invite them into my house because I want to try to win them to Christ. But they are tough nuts to crack. I believe it was Walter Martin that said that in about five minutes the average Christian into a theological pretzel.
And it’s true. They have a track that they were, and I know you’re the teacher, so I’m not going to take much time here. In the book of Isaiah chapter 43 in the New World Translation, the Jehovah’s Witness Bible, it says in verse 3, for I am Jehovah your God the Holy One of Israel your Savior. And there’s other verses in that chapter that talk about Jehovah being the Savior. Savior. And if you turn in their Bible to Acts, chapter 4, another name under heaven that has been given among men which you must get saved.
And it’s speaking of Christ from verse 10. Well, that’s a gem. I sure thank you for sharing that one with me. and I applaud you for what you’re doing. For most people though, if they let them in their home, they’re gonna be like you said, Walt Marcher, they’ll make him a personal five minutes. So they need to be, I think, preparing a little bit before they take that on. Yes, sir. Well, I have a question for you on another subject please.
I wanted a confirmation, first of all, From 2 Timothy chapter 3 where the scripture talks about in verse 5 having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof from such a turn away. And then of course it goes on to say, you know, ever learning, never able to come to the knowledge of the truth and so forth. But having a form of godliness, but in… but denying the power thereof, in verse five of chapter three, I take that as the power of the gospel.
My charismatic friends try to tell me that that’s talking about the Holy Ghost and manifestations and so forth. But I don’t believe that it means that. I believe that it means the power of the gospel. I am a hundred percent agreement with you there. I would take Romans 1,16 where it says I’m pulsed. I’m not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. The gospel is the power of God. Yes, sir. I have that written down. my margin. I wrote it down myself.
But that’s what I believe. So you would confirm that. Absolutely. I believe that’s exactly what it’s talking about. And one other question. I don’t have the reference here, but where it talks about Jesus to mean who are baptized into the body of Christ. My charismatic friends try to tell me that that is some special purification or some other event that takes place and usually certain During certain meetings and so forth, they’re going to have a fire impartation service, or they’re going to have something.
Could you please answer that for me? I’m going to I’m going to hang up now and listen. All right. Thank you, Ben and Zivriels for to. Actually, that is hell. And the subject is off of the baptism of fire. And I think they really can deliver on that, because their message will take into hell if you obviously are going to trust in works and things that you can do to be saved rather than Christ. But you’ll notice in the very verse, Matthew 3.11 is where it’s found.
baptized with the Holy Ghost and with fire. So everybody gets baptized by Christ, either with the Holy Spirit, which means you’re saved and you’re placed into the body of Christ. The other is the baptism of fire, which is what happens to the lost. And Christ is the baptizer there as well. And you’ll notice the answers there clearly told in verse 12, whose fan is in his hand. And he will thoroughly purge his floor and gathers wheat into the goner, but he’ll burn up the chase with unquenchable fire.
The unquenchable fire there, I believe, is hell, and the unsaved are the chase, and they’ll be baptized. The picture there is a thrashing floor. I’ve seen these in Israel. Even to this day, you’ll see some that’s still far in that primitive way. They’ll gather the grain by hand. They’ll bring it to the thrashing floor. They’ll have usually an animal tread on that floor and walk around and kind of break the grain loose. But then they have a guy that will kind of take a pitchfork and throw the grain up in the air.
And if the wind is blowing good, it’ll blow away the under wanted chafe and the heavy green will fall straight to the floor and is harvested. But if there is no wind, then you’ve got a guy that has a fan and he’ll be blowing with that big fan. He’ll up and down motion to wave this big fan. And then the other guy is throwing the wheat up in the air with his pitchfork and the wind created blows the chafe away.
Well, Christ will have the fan in his hand. Christ will clearly purge the floor of any unsaid and they’ll be baptized by Christ with unquenchable fire which is hell. I think Matthew 3, 11, and 12 make that very clear that you got an option here no matter who you are, what you believe or where you go to church, you’ll either be baptized by Christ with fire which means you’ll go to hell or you trust Christ and you’re baptized with the Holy Spirit and placed into the body of Christ.
We’re going to go now to Chattanooga, Tennessee, with a wonderful place to visit. We have Laura on the phone and Laura, welcome to Bibleline. You’re welcome to the program today. Dr. Leastron. Yes, Laura. I’m Laura Handfaker from Chattanooga, Tennessee. Yes, ma’am. And I would like for you to explain verse 16 and 17 in verse John chapter 5. I will hang up and listen to your answer. I’m glad you’re listening up there in Chattanooga. Thank you. All right. And first John, chapter 5, beginning verse 16, it talks here about a sin unto death and how that we’re not to pray for somebody who’s committed that sin because our prayers will not change it.
It’s basically where a Christian commits a sin where God will take him home early to heaven because of that sin. Moses committed that sin. In the Old Testament, instead of speaking to the rock, he smote the rock for the second time. What was the picture there? Christ is only to be smitten once at the cross to pay for our sins. And here Moses smites Christ a second time and Jesus will never be smitten a second time. He was smitten for our sins on the cross and paid our sin that in full and here Moses because he violated what God told him to do and apparently smoke Christ again or crucified him again was what the picture is.
God decided to take him home to have it early. He died still youthful even though he was 120 years of age. His eyesight was 2020. He had full strength if you read Exodus 34, it tells about it but you had the Lord let him view the promised land from the top of Mount Pishchap stood there where Moses stood and viewed the promise line accorded across the Jordan Valley, across the Jordan River, and there the Lord took his life and apparently has preserved his body to come back as he will preach again during the tribulation period as one of the two prophets.
But that was the sin and the death, and nice and sufira committed that sin in Acts 5 by lying about their giving and the Lord smote them and took them home to heaven early. The man in 1 Corinthians 5 who was living in adultery with his mother, the ward took him home and yet it says his spirit would be saved in the day of the ward Jesus. If you look at 1 Corinthians 10, 23, it talks about 23,000 Christians taking home in one day because of sin.
1 Corinthians 11, 30 talks about because of the Corinthians not getting their life right with the ward as a Christian. It says for this cause in 1st Corinthians 1130, many of you are sick, many of you are weakly and many of you are dead. So the Lord took a lot of people home to heaven early and that sin on the death will not prevent your death if that happens. So hopefully that answers the question for you and I thank you, Laura, for listening up there in Chaddening.
I believe we’re on there four times a day. We’re on at 10 in the morning, 4 in the afternoon, 10 at 9 at 4 a.m. in the morning. And thank you, all of you folks up there in Chattanooga who listen in. We’re now going to go to James in Tampa for it, and James, welcome to Bible in Your Own Year.
Yeah, I have a question about hating your father and mother and wife and children. Yeah, what you read that and tell me what you’re talking about. Sure. I’m very familiar with it. Luke chapter 14 is talking about the Christian life. What is interesting here is that the word in the Greek is a comparative term and it doesn’t really mean that you hate your father and your mother, but in contrast to your love for the Lord, your love for others.
others should be hatred and contrast. And that’s what it’s really saying here. So you’re not to hate anybody. You love your enemies. But the word there is a contrast of word and it really means, and if you have a skill field Bible, it points that out here. It says at the bottom of the page of my skill field, all terms which define emotions or affections are comparative. And it says here, natural affection is to be as compared with the believers devoted to Christ as hatred.
So our love for Christ ought to be number one and it ought to be such a love for Christ that our love for others would be in contrast considered to be hatred. So hopefully that helps you with that one. And apparently he’s already hung up and so we’re going to move on now to Don in the Treasure Island on welcome to Bibleline you’re on the end. Well done And I don’t hear down either so Let me try something else here.
We’re gonna go to Know well in St. Petersburg. No welcome to my one. Oh Yes, Dr. Lindstrom Yes, sir Yes, it’s a pleasure. It’s the one up and I’m concerned about and I am sent to fire The reason why I said I don’t believe, I don’t know if they were to believe it because Jesus said to them, you did not lie unto man but unto God. So it means that they weren’t filled with the Holy Spirit would you say?
Yeah, I’m right here. They were saved and they were Christians and they were giving money in a solar property and then they lied about how much of the property, the proceeds from the sale that they gave and as a result the Lord smoked them and took their life. But they were saved and we’re going to see them in heaven one day and of course they’ll be ashamed for what they did there but definitely they are saved people. So in a sense you ought to feel sorry that they were in embarrassment to the Lord and had to take him out, take them out, but at the same time rejoice in it they are saved and now with the Lord in heaven.
Thank you so much. We now have Reni and Reni in Tampa, Florida is calling in. Reni, welcome to Bible In. Hey, hi, Dr. Lifting. This is Reni. I’ve got a question at one point. Well, I believe he was saved probably when he was about 40, maybe just before that, it He decided that he was going to serve a ward and choose to live for God’s people. He took it into his own hands there and he killed an Egyptian and buried him in the sand.
Then of course he was banished for 40 years and it wasn’t until he was 80. God actually brought him back to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt. He must have been saved at that point. I take it that Moses got saved right around when he was 40 years of age Just prior to his killing that Egyptian. I think somewhere right in there. He came to know the Lord is this savior Thank you, ready now. We’re gonna go back to Don and Don is in treasure Island Don welcome to Bible in Hey, hello pastor.
Hey A few minutes ago saying that he was inviting to over witness is I’ve been doing wrong because you pointed out a couple of days ago No, let me just say a word here because actually the word, it doesn’t really mean that. It means you’re not to invite them to the word there means in your fellowship. So let’s say you invite them in your home and you let them preach to your family. That’s a no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
If you invite him into your church fellowship and you let him preach from your pulpit, I said, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, I would be greatly negligent as a pastor. If a lot of Joel’s witness come up and preach their doctrine for my pulpit, I think God would strike me down. But as a father in a home and you are the spiritual leader, you wouldn’t want them to come in and preach their doctrine to your family as well.
So that’s what I was really talking about. But if you invite him into witness to him and you don’t give him the platform to preach their doctrine, but you’re telling them how to be saved your right on. So I just wanted to clarify that so that we get this all straight because the questions keep coming up in this because of the little confusion about what it’s saying there. But the word house there means really your household or your fellowship, whether it be your personal family or whether it be the church, we’ll dismiss if we let them preach to us their false doctrine.
I thought I might want to pass on to your listener something that might be helpful to them. Sure. I like to ask them, they’re very, normally they’re very familiar with certain passages in their Bible. And to show that Jesus is not Jehovah and he’s, so I normally, I like to ask them, I said, you know there’s some things in the Bible, I don’t understand, I wonder if you could help me, would you, it was your Bible? But there are some things I wonder if you could help me out with.
Revelation 1, 8, for example, I don’t understand that. And then they turn and it says, I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, I say, who is that? They say, well that’s Jehovah. Oh, I see. Oh, thank you for clearing that up for me. And in Revelation 21, 6, I don’t understand that either. And it says there, it is done. I am the alpha, the omega, the beginning and the end. I said, who is that?
And they’ll say, that’s Jehovah again. That’s not so hard. Oh, thanks for clearing that up. And then in Revelation 22, 13, it says, I am the amount alpha, the omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Is that Jehovah again? absolutely you’re beginning to catch on all you guys are great for helping out and I have one more question for you in Revelation 1 18 and 19 it says and I am either live it excuse me in 17 and 18 I am the first and the last is that Jehovah again oh yes that Jehovah and then it continues I am he that live it and was dead and behold I am alive forever more and I said when did Jehovah die and you’ll hear the greatest and use the announcer.
I’ve got to get back to Kingdom Hall, but I’ll get back to you and you’ll never hear from them again. So I don’t know if that’s doing any good or not. I’ve old memory texts that they’ve, but it’s not Jehovah. Excellent. That’s very good. And obviously Jesus is the alphanie maker. He is the beginning and he’s the first and the last and he is therefore for the same god as that of the Old Testament. And these people are really blinded and it’s very difficult to reach them out because why they run back to the Kingdom Hall to get an answer or to be told that they’re okay, that they’re sitting in the hands of the Kingdom.
I just wish they would come back. I know, I know, I know. I understand exactly how you feel. I think you have to be tough on them a a little bit because you’ve got to shake them up a little better though. I think that they’re okay in what they believe in that sad, but they are lost. And I like to say they’re Jehovahless and they’re godless. You know, first John 2, 23, if you deny the son, you don’t have the father.
So they’re, they’re Jehovahless. And in Second John verse nine, they’re, if they don’t bite in the doctrine of Christ, they don’t have God. So they’re godless as well. I think that shakes them up a little bit too. done great job thank you for sharing that thank you pastor all right down in the treasure island and we have some good witnesses out there that are doing a good job and we thank you for then and for Don who are trying to win witnesses to Christ and they are tough but they can be one to Christ we have Anne and Lake Flint and welcome to Bibleline you’re on here yes mr.
Lance once yes given a I’m a friend and the CD is about a lady that says that Jesus took her to hell and you know revealed a lot of things to her. Is that possible? No. Let’s just do that. No, that’s not possible at all. And if she ever went to hell she’d never come back. First of all, nobody’s in hell as yet. So she’s wrong theologically because Satan and his angels, Matthew 24, captured rather 2541 says that hell was created for the devil and his angels.
the loss of mankind are still in Hades, a place of flame and torment, and when the millennium is over, and Satan is finally cast into hell in Revelation 20 verse 10, that it says Hades will deliver the dead which are in it, and they’ll be cast into the lake of fire. She went to hell. She would have beat Satan. That’s certainly not possible and she’s totally wrong. So, that’s a fabrication. What’s amazing today? How many false things are coming up?
I see. Well, she goes into detail on how Jesus took her and what she saw demons and everything. And she says, Jesus took them. I’m like, I’m supposed to kind of like, would Jesus do that? Well she’s wrong because the demons aren’t there yet and they won’t be cast in until after the thousand Uranus Christ and Satan’s not there and hell is empty so if it was a true account she would see an empty hell. Now Hayes is a different ballgame but she obviously has her theology bait mixed up I would not listen to her anymore.

As we covered today, that word, hate in Luke 1426 really is a comparative term and doesn’t really mean that you hate your father and your mother and your children and so on, but in contrast to your love and the Lord, that love for others would be considered hatred.
You need the love and the word first and that should be a priority in your life.
